Starting point is 00:00:00 That Donald Trump is about to become what he never, ever wanted to be. Jimmy Carter. Yes. He is being held hostage by Iran. The Iranians have officially figured out how to break Donald Trump in nearly end his term. I wish I weren't coming to you with news of such utter humiliation for the United States, but this is the reality. The reality is the war that Donald Trump and Netanyahu sparked with Iran nearly 165 days ago
Starting point is 00:00:27 has set the entire globe down a darker path. The United States is suffering not only economically but militarily as our missiles are being depleted. The Middle East is in a more hostile, more inflamed place than it was months ago. Even during the opening salvo of this war, we killed multiple hundred school children at a girl school in Manab, Iran. This has been a dark war, but now Iran has figured out how to effectively Jimmy Carter, Donald Trump. And what I mean by that is that nearly four decades ago, Iran learned a very valuable lesson about American politics. If you create a crisis that an American president cannot solve, and if you keep that crisis alive long enough, eventually the American people start to blame the president, and you can inflict maximum damage on that president in that way.
Starting point is 00:01:20 In 1979, that crisis was the Iran hostage crisis. 52 Americans were held hostage for 444 days, exactly. Jimmy Carter wasn't able to get them home because the Iranians were intentionally trying to twist his arm. A military rescue attempt catastrophically failed. Eight American service members died in this attempt. And every single day those Americans remained in captivity, it looked bad for Jimmy Carter. This is just the political reality of it. I really do honor Jimmy Carter's legacy.
Starting point is 00:01:54 and he did do a lot of great as the president, but this is the Iranian strategy. And now, if we look at Donald Trump, Iran isn't holding 52 Americans hostage. They're holding basically all of the global oil flow hostage, the Strait of Hormuz hostage, and therefore they're holding a gas nozzle to the head of every single American.
Starting point is 00:02:14 You know, I'm not one to cite Chris Christie often, but he went on a morning show recently and kind of just dug in to Donald Trump's failure in this war. I want you to take a listen to this. And if you appreciate these breakdowns on the Adam Mockler feed, make sure you drop a like. Make sure you subscribe. Let me break the news very quickly that Donald Trump is now out of options
Starting point is 00:02:33 and said he's willing to end the war without a nuclear deal if Iranian leadership agrees to open the straight of war moves. Iran has now completely ruled out any future negotiations with the Trump administration declaring it will wait out Trump's term until January 20th of 20th. I'll break this down further, but listen to this clip. I mean, what does he do? Look, the real problem here is it was an adventure without a plan. And now, you know, I struck this week when the Iranians put out their list of demands to reopen the straight, reparations.
Starting point is 00:03:09 Yeah. Et cetera. What struck me was that Donald Trump is about to become what he never, ever wanted to be, Jimmy Carter. Yes. He is being held hostage by Iran. They are holding the straight of Hormuz hostage. As a result, they're holding the world economy hostage. And it's focused at Donald Trump.
Starting point is 00:03:30 And I know from talking to him over the last 24 years, the one person he would never want to be. Jimmy Carter. I've talked to him about Jimmy Carter too. And so here we are. And it was all voluntary. That is brutal. I noticed at the very last second, Scott Jennings is for some reason sitting on this panel listening. And look at the face he's making.
Starting point is 00:03:51 He hates to hear. the truth, the reality of it. Iran knows what they're doing in this situation. Please don't mistake this as me being someone who wants to see America fail, someone who hates America. I'm calling out the truth because I love America, because I want America to be a better country, more focused on human dignity and less focused on war. You could have a nuanced view about Iran's nuclear capacity without being somebody who hates America who wants us to lose. I very clearly want the best for this country, and we do that. We get the best by calling out these people in power. About a month ago, J.D. Vance went on Fox News at 9 a.m. And I remember this because I was watching it and I was
Starting point is 00:04:30 clipping it up and I was tweeting about it. And this went super viral because at 9 a.m., J.D. Vance went on Fox News and declared the Strait of Hormuz was open. At 10 a.m. At 10 a.m., the IRC, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps announced that the Strait of Hormuz is closed. It could not be more clear that the Trump admin has no control over the situation. I posted this on June 20th. This was almost two months ago and they still have zero control. Wow. Lucks, Jared and Steve have been on the ground now for a few hours dealing with some of the technical elements of this negotiation. As you guys know, one of the things the president has set us out to do as a high priority is to open the straits. That's now happened. We actually got 16 million barrels of oil out of the
Starting point is 00:05:18 Straits of Hormuz yesterday. That is a record going back to even before the conflicts. This is a lie. He's telling flat out lies. We pulled up charts on the show before of oil passing through the Strait of Hormuz. It has never gotten close to recovering to pre-war levels. And this brings me on to Iran's ultimate strategy, and that is to effectively neuter Donald Trump's second term entirely. The Republicans know what happens if the Democrats take back the House and the Senate come to midterms. That's why they've been desperately trying to steal it, to steal the midterms, rig the midterms by redistricting and gerrymandering in a slightly illegal manner in the middle of the decade. They found legal loopholes to do it, and they are now disenfranchising voters.
Starting point is 00:06:01 But Donald Trump is staring down two stark liabilities that threatened to damage his Republican Party in the midterms and ruin his second term legacy. Speaker of the House Mike Johnson has laid it out perfectly before. If the Democrats take power again, it won't be games anymore. will be having oversight committees, investigations, we will stop the corruption, we will expose the corruption, we will release the Epstein files, and most importantly, I think Congress should be focused on passing the resolutions that limit Donald Trump's power, a war power's resolution, for example. Check out this clip of Mike Johnson talking about what happens if Democrats win. I mean, listen, I'm all for it.
Starting point is 00:06:39 I am on the ballot, because in a real sense he is. If we were to lose the midterms, heaven forbid, these Democrats, y'all, impeachment's not even the big concern. They will turn every committee of Congress into an investigative body and they'll go after the president's family, the cabinet, his donors, and friends. Half of you in this room will be targeted. I run the protection program. I'll take care of you. Okay, we're going to win.
Starting point is 00:06:59 We're going to win the midterm, okay? Okay, great. By protection program, that means he's going to cover the corruption for them. But listen to how this article continues. Somehow, Trump has maneuvered himself into a more vulnerable spot regarding Iran than any president since Jimmy Carter. As in the 1979-1980 hostage crisis, the Islamic Republic is exerting political pressure that it can dial up on the U.S. leader ahead of the national election. A week ago, Trump's team predicted a deal to reopen the Strait of Formuz was imminent.
Starting point is 00:07:29 But now, Tehran, dictating terms of the U.S. global superpower, has imposed tough new conditions. It's so backwards. Iran is dictating what terms they want to Trump in the United States. The United States should not be in a position of weakness like this, but of course under Trump, it's bound to happen. At the same time, Trump faces a separate but related problem at home. The war's impact on energy prices is further souring voter perceptions of the economy. He's entered the doom loop in which presidents and officials scan data for silver linings,
Starting point is 00:08:01 but voters see only indifference to their plights. I kind of like that term, the doom loop. Twists like Friday's bad job reports are untimely for the GOP with November fast approaching. Can I use this opportunity to point out that Obama actually had a deal? Let me let him explain it. We pulled it off without firing a missile. We got 97% of their enriched uranium out. They were able to maintain a modest civilian nuclear program for energy.
Starting point is 00:08:30 So you think it was working? Not only did I think it was working, even Israeli intelligence thought it was working. Even our intelligence services thought it was working. So there's no dispute that it worked. And we didn't have to kill a whole bunch of people or shut down the Strait of Hormuz. Now. Well, there was some dispute that it didn't work.
Starting point is 00:08:56 Well, our present president believed that it didn't work, which is why he pulled out of it. It's not clear that he didn't believe that it didn't work. He just said it didn't work. Worst deal of all time. Yeah, because I did it, which is fine. That seems to be a pattern. But there was no serious independent folks who would say that it didn't work with respect to the nuclear program.
Starting point is 00:09:20 Now, if your agenda was to bring about regime change in Iran, well, that wasn't the goal of the agreement. If your goal was to dismantle the Iranian military so that it couldn't cause any other problems in the region, then it didn't do that, but that wasn't the goal. Thank you, thank you, thank you. And now we are getting reports that Iran has ruled out any future negotiations. Now, I do want to point out this in and of itself could be a negotiating tactic. As the United States lies and play games, you have to understand Iran also lies and play games during negotiations. Like they have no problem, no shame lying. In the same way that Donald Trump has zero shame. So they could be playing some sort of psychological game here as well. There have been days where they act like they're about to open the strait, and they close it down last minute just to F with Trump and to humiliate the United States. They are going for maximum humiliation. Quote, Trump will not reach an agreement with us. We will accompany him until his term ends, said Majid Shakiri, advisor to parliament speaker Galibaf. He posted, quote, the path to victory is neither fighting nor a deal. It is managing the process of neither war nor peace up to the point of victory. I think that this is the strategy
Starting point is 00:10:35 we've been laying out on the show this entire time, that they are going to try to use time and asymmetric warfare as a way to tire out the United States. They want to tuck her out the United States because the reality is we're running low on our missile capacity. The economy is literally free-falling right now, not only unemployment-wise, but inflation-wise, gas price-wise, due to Donald Trump's terror regime and his war with Iran. All they have to do is wait out the clock and they can likely beat Donald Trump politically. I'm going to leave it there. Starting point is 00:11:11 Peace out.
