Hi, Charlie, I'm Addie, and I'm 14.
Dude, this is one of the weirdest clips I have ever seen.
One of the largest figures in the MAGA movement, Charlie Kirk, was just asked by a 14-year-old freshman in high school, what she should do regarding college?
She even says, I'm interested in political journalism, and I want to know, as someone who has a unique view, should I go to college? What do you think?
It's a solid question in a really good moment for Charlie Kirk to give her career advice.
If he were a normal human being, not an absolute freak, he immediately read.
redirected the conversation and urged the audience of high school girls to prioritize marriage
and family over their academic or career ambitions. He even explicitly encouraged them to
attend college and look for something called like an MRS degree. I didn't know what that
was, but it literally means Mrs. A Mrs. degree, a term that means you go to college, not even to
get a degree, but just to find a spouse and have a secure marriage partner. A really odd thing to tell a
14-year-old, especially when she gave you the perfect opening to say, yeah, if you like political
journalism, I have some experience doing something in the political realm. And no, no, he acts
completely weird. Before we even watch this clip, look at what he said about Juneteenth just a day.
Okay, everybody, a lot of people are going to be saying, happy Juneteenth.
It should not be a federal holiday and I'm on my way to work.
Black Americans were enslaved for over 400 years. And when they were finally freed,
they didn't get the message right away. It took two more years for the last group and
Texas to find out. And in that moment, Juneteenth marked the final enforcement of freedom. And you're
saying that doesn't deserve a federal holiday? I know you're racist, Charlie Kirk, but come on. You're on
your way to work, and that's cool. Black people worked for free for generations. They built this
country with their blood, sweat, and tears. Juneteenth isn't about a day off. It's about recognizing
the struggle, the resilience, and the strength and the freedom that black Americans had to
fight for, and it was something they were never just given. If that makes you and your white
conservative base uncomfortable, then the issue isn't the holiday. It's y'all. It's y'all's lack
of empathy, your lack of understanding, and your racism and bigotry. Yep, very well said,
and happy Juneteenth, by the way. This brings us on to this next clip. I mean, I'm overall just
painting a picture of how much of an unempathetic weirdo Charlie Kirk is. He's not like overtly
socially awkward, but he's socially awkward in the sense that he just told a room full of high
school girls to go to college to find an MRS degree, which is what he repeatedly calls it.
And this isn't like an isolated incident or like a one-off moment from Charlie Kirk.
Basically, every single MAGA leader would immediately pivot to marriage and childbearing if they
were asked a normal question.
It's effing weird.
And okay, let's watch the clip.
Hi, Charlie.
I'm Addie, and I'm 14.
I'm a freshman in high school.
And I was wondering, as someone who has, like, a different opinion on college, what would you say the pros and cons are because I'm interested in political journalism?
And what would your advice be?
Yes, so let me also speak to some of the young ladies here in high school where your top, if you're, who's here where your top priority?
Your top priority is get married and have kids.
Raise your hand.
Okay.
Interestingly, I think there is an argument to bring back the MRS degree.
I'm sorry, but what a weird, there's an argument. He's giving an argument.
Raise your hand. Okay. Interestingly, I think there is an argument to bring back the MRS degree.
And, no, seriously. And just be clear, that's why you're going to college, right?
Don't lie to yourself. I don't, like, I'm going, I'm studying sociology. No, you're not. We know why you're here. And that's okay, actually.
And that's a really good reason to go to college, actually, especially an SEC school.
Like, you will find a husband
if you have the intent to find a husband
at Ole Miss. Like, it's just going to happen, okay?
Or wherever.
Yeah, there you go, see? Or at University of Alabama.
And but, there you go.
But I always laugh.
And by the way, we should bring back the celebration of the MRS degree,
which is, no serious.
I mean, if you think about it, like I say college is a scam,
but if you're going to find your life partner,
like that's actually a really good reason to go to college.
Okay, there's more of the clip to play, but I've really quickly want to jump in and debunk a few things that he said.
He said, don't lie to yourself and say that you're studying sociology or whatever.
You're not doing that.
You're just looking for a partner.
What are you talking about Charlie Kirk?
The young woman literally said she's interested in political journalism.
You could have given her a solid piece of advice on how to pursue political journalism.
And what Charlie Kirk is saying is wrong.
And he's basically creating the oppressive society right here because he's leading by
example. Here's what I mean. Representation is very, very important and could change the way a young
woman's life goes. Like when a young woman like this asks a question, representation or getting an
answer that gives you advice could change the way the life goes. For example, has anybody heard of
the Scully effect? I find it to be fascinating, but there was a show called the X-Files. You guys are
of course aware of it. And one of the lead characters was Agent Dana Scholley. She was one of the first
women to be shown as a STEM researcher or a scientist. This reads, in the world of entertainment
media, where scientists are often portrayed as white men wearing white coats and working alone in labs,
Agent Scully from the popular television program, The X-Files, stood out as the only female
STEM character in a prominent primetime television role. So they studied it. They studied what
happens when young female viewers who see Dana Scully as a role model enter college. And the key findings
were that among women who are familiar with Scully's character,
63% say Scully increased their confidence
so that they could excel in a male-dominated profession.
Among women who are familiar with Scully's character,
91% say she is a role model for girls and women.
And you can see an increase in women entering the STEM fields
as you see an increase in representation in the media.
Okay, the reason why I brought that up is because when Charlie Kirk is on stage
saying you should just go to college to get married,
Don't kid yourself and say that you're studying.
Dude, you're creating the exact sort of feedback loop.
I mean, that's what he wants to be creating.
So, yeah, let's continue playing this.
You have a bunch of people that are single.
You know, they're at the prime of their, you know, let's just say, attractiveness.
The dating pool is as robustly all are fine.
And they all live together over a four-year period.
Like, you don't get much better than that, okay?
It doesn't get better after college there.
and so yeah you could go learn some stuff
that's fine I guess or whatever
just don't listen to your professors
but that actually was
the reason why a lot of women went to college in the
70s 80s and 90s and it worked
marriage rates have plummeted since that
so yeah as I said Charlie Kirk
is trying to create this environment
when he's urging young women to see marriage
as the primary goal of life
or college then conservative
leaders like him are actively
working to re-entrench traditional
gender roles and push back against
decades of progress towards gender equality in the workforce, just equality. That's all anybody
should want is equality and in both education and the workforce because both can be
unequal and equitable. So I don't know. It's kind of scary because it really feels like
Charlie Kirk is using a strategy to, you know, broadly mobilize younger people to be skeptical
about college to push back any sort of autonomy when it comes to education or career so that young
women could pursue childbearing genuinely their entire philosophy is that women once you reach
I don't know the age of 18 to 20 to 25 shouldn't be prioritizing education or work you should
immediately be having a kid and prioritizing family they want to take us back 60 years I just say
give people autonomy if a woman wants to be able to
go into the workforce or get a degree, they should have the same exact means that a man would.
And I'll leave it at that. It's that simple. And if you want to help push back against the whole
Charlie Kirk's fear, the Adam Makler channel beat him in terms of subscribers in Q1 of 2025,
meaning for the first quarter, our channel, the channel that we are building together,
outpaced Charlie Kirk's in terms of growth. So make sure you subscribe below. Make sure you drop a like.
