Starting point is 00:00:25 We'd love to talk, business. MAGA Republicans do not want the Democratic Party to exist. I am joined today by Micah Irfan of Machlar Media to talk about the MAGA reaction to the shooting in D.C. last night. On screen right now, you'll see that Donald Trump didn't post for 17 hours after the shooting. On Thanksgiving morning, he was radio silent until he came out to talk about golfer Fuzzy Zolar passing away. 17 hours before that, he sent a dark message to the American people about mobilizing more national. Guard troops into D.C. And in this 17-hour gap, we saw Maga commentators whip themselves up into a frenzy trying to blame the left. Anybody on the left, politicians, voters, pundits, anybody on the left for this shooting and it backfired. Narrative A that they immediately ran with was that Senator Mark Kelly and Senator Alyssa Slotkin were somehow responsible for this due to their radical rhetoric about not obeying illegal orders, which is totally legal and what you're supposed to do under the Uniform Code of Military Justice. And then
Starting point is 00:01:34 after that narrative was blown up, narrative two comes out. They are now trying to say this is Biden's fault, even though this dude was provided asylum under the Trump administration in April of 2024. We're going to talk to Micah Irfan about this. But first, let's go through some immediate reactions on screen now. Todd Starns, a MAGA commentator on Newsmax, said, Bulletin, two National Guardsmen shot in D.C. I blame the Democrats. They're has placed a target on the back of every person in uniform. This is before we even knew who it was. Before we knew who did the shooting, what his motive was.
Starting point is 00:02:08 We still don't even fully transparently know his motive, and they are trying to assign some sort of motive to him, which is despicable. It kind of reminds me of when Charlie Kirk was shot, not even 15 minutes after, not even 15 minutes after Charlie Kirk was shot, Elon Musk comes out and says, the left is the party of murder. Before we know who did it, before we knew any of their motives, we still thought it was some old man at that point. just crazy stuff.
Starting point is 00:02:31 Somebody else on Twitter says, Joe Biden should be put on trial for treason. I don't care how old he is. Charge him tomorrow. He should spend the rest of his life in jail for letting terrorists into our countries at an unprecedented rate. Micah, I want to turn over to you.
Starting point is 00:02:47 How do you feel about this type of inflammatory rhetoric on Twitter right in the aftermath of something inflammatory that happens? It's like they're fueling it. It's like they're pouring gasoline on the fire, right? Yeah, they do this every single time, madam, a tragedy happens, some sort of terrible act of violence. The Republicans and right wingers on the internet immediately blame the Democrats with absolutely no evidence. And they use the most
Starting point is 00:03:10 extreme rhetoric possible. Some of them were calling for Trump to become a king, verifying what we've been saying with no kings this entire time. Some of them were calling for the invocation of the Insurrection Act, for the mobilization of the military, for even hangings of Democrats, mass executions and mass deportations of Democrats. And then it comes out like it always does, that it wasn't a Democrat that was involved in this. It was somebody with no relation to the Democrats whatsoever. Actually, somebody that was given asylum by the Trump administration. And do any of them walk back what they said? Absolutely not. Some of them tweeted, I'm still blaming the Democrats. I'm still blaming Mark Kelly because they're not willing to
Starting point is 00:03:49 change their mind. Some of them are trying to blame Joe Biden. Some of them are lying about this immigrant's status and how he came here, because for them, it's not about the truth. They're not actually angry at the Democrats for something the Democrats did. It's just a pretense. They want a totalitarian one-party state, and they'll use any event, any news headline, any tragedy for that purpose. It's all just an excuse. Can I just point out that it's also a confluence of events?
Starting point is 00:04:17 So as this inflammatory stuff, this disgusting attack happens on U.S. soil, right? right, in the United States. People online immediately begin to react in an inflammatory way. Foreign actors want to pour even more gasoline on this fire. We just saw when Elon Musk had that new feature that shows you where someone's location is that like 60% of the big MAGA accounts on Twitter who are nameless and are just like Caroline Levitt fan accounts or MAGA Trumper number one or I'm a New York Trumper, 86, 7, whatever the hell. Every single time they'd be in Bangladesh.
Starting point is 00:04:53 or they'd be in Macedonia or Eastern Europe or Russia or something like that. So you have foreign actors trying to stoke the flames of authoritarianism right at a moment when America is in a fragile state. Let's turn back to these tweets and let's see what's going on on screen here. After this person says Joe Biden should be put on trial, somebody says, everyone behind this should face the death penalty, referring to Senator Mark Kelly, Senator Alyssa Slotkin. This is some crazy shit probably from a foreign actor trying to stir stuff up. pro-America politics says, I'm still blaming this on Mark Kelly. Now, this is a real guy. After we find out that this shooter had nothing to do with Mark Kelly, I mean, fully,
Starting point is 00:05:31 we don't even know, we don't even know why he did it entirely. After we found that out, he still said, I'm still blaming this on Mark Kelly. They are bloodthirsty to blame this on the Democrats. We then see Will Chamberlain say, remigration. Remigration is a really important concept that right-wingers have been floating. The term re-migration was popularized by far, far-right groups in Europe who don't just want to ban migration. They don't just want to take care of illegal immigrants. They want every single immigrant, their kids, their parents, everybody removed.
Starting point is 00:06:06 It's the most extreme position possible. Let me play you this clip from their advocates, from their advocates over in Europe. It is a quick clip. Take a listen. Children getting raped. People getting murdered. These aren't just rare occurrences. These are everyday situations, and these are happening by immigrants. They're not just happening by illegal immigrants.
Starting point is 00:06:25 These are legal immigrants imported by our government. Many of these have been born here, and they're allowed to roam our streets, rape, murder, and steal of our people, and we are not going to tolerate it anymore. We want every single one of these people removed from our country. It's not going to happen voluntary, and unfortunately, this isn't going to be a peaceful process for a lot of people. There is going to be an awful lot of hardship for our own people, and for the immigrants involved free remigration. He said, this is not going to happen voluntarily.
Starting point is 00:06:54 There's going to be a whole lot of hardship. This is not going to be peaceful. This is an extremist ideology that calls for the removal of all immigrants, even if they're legal, people who were naturalized, people who came here through legal processes, all of their relatives. And the big kicker right here, what I really want to point out is this is not some fringe ideology. Benny Johnson himself, as you can see on screen, A far-right MAGA dude on Twitter, I guess in the United States, he's not even that like far-right anymore.
Starting point is 00:07:23 He's considered just MAGA, like mainstream conservative. He said, the only answer is remigration. Our own homeland security account ominously randomly tweeted, remigrate. Micah, break down what we're seeing, this far-right wave pushing towards remigration. What do you think, Micah? Yeah, I mean, every single person that is non-white in this country needs to understand this. the Republican Party does not believe that you should be here. It doesn't matter if you were born here.
Starting point is 00:07:50 It doesn't matter if your grandparents were born here. They think that because of the color of your skin, you are not an American and you are an invader. You are taking over the ethnic room that should be filled by white people. You're replacing the white race. This is the explicit rhetoric they're using. They're not even dog whistling anymore. They're just shouting the terms. Remigrate is unambiguously meaning these extreme things.
Starting point is 00:08:14 and they're doing it because they think they can, right? They don't feel like they have to hide their ideology anymore. But I don't think they realize how out of touch they are with normal everyday Americans. Trump is at his lowest level, almost ever in his approval rating right now. The Republican Party is falling dramatically. And it's because the economy is bad, but it's also because Americans don't believe in this. We're a country that's founded on pluralism in diversity, a country founded by Protestants and Catholics, which wanted to live freely together and peacefully together rather than fighting each other like
Starting point is 00:08:47 they were doing in Europe. And they stand against everything that this country was founded on. And ultimately, that's not very popular with Americans. Yeah. And Donald Trump is using this almost Hitleresque tactic of using immigrants as a scapegoat for every single problem. So the Department of Homeland Security sent out this tweet where they were like, oh, homes are expensive. It's because we have immigrants here.
Starting point is 00:09:09 They said prices are higher. It's because we have immigrants here. health care schools because we have immigrants here they're trying to use immigrants as a scapegoat for everything when people can feel these problems in their day to day lives and people can feel that it's not getting better i mean if donald trump is claiming to carry out this mass deportation operation and actually deported two million like he claims then why is unemployment still going up if this is if these two things are correlated in the way that he claims then uh the problems that are not being solved happy thanksgiving to everybody i love you all we're going to continue to fight every single day
