You're about to have a plague of outsiders descend on your town. Let me tell you this. It's got to be consequences. Mayor of Kingstown, new season now streaming on Paramount Plus. Lord have mercy, Donald Trump is crashing out over the blue wave that we all saw last night.
Starting point is 00:01:05 We know that Trump is a sore loser who can't take a loss without physically curling up in a ball and crying and whining and puking and saying that it was all rigged. He's like the kid in fifth grade gym class who can never, ever lose any sort of game without freaking out. But today, the desperation coming from Donald Trump and J.D. Vance and other Republicans is next level. So I want to walk through Donald Trump just moments ago in Miami, clearly being desperate. I want to walk through his initial reaction to Zohon because he was immediately tweeting about affordability when he woke up this morning. Huh, where did you just suddenly get the idea to tweet about affordability, Donald Trump? Before all of that, let's start off with J.D. Vance's insane cope this morning. I found this tweet to be kind of hilarious because J.D. Vance is clearly reaching, grasping for any sort of cope possible, and he just has to lie to do it.
Starting point is 00:01:57 So just to back up, we know that Zoran Mamdani had a nice victory in New York City, but even beyond that, that one's very important, but even beyond that, it's also important that we have two Democratic governors, now women. We have Mickey Sherrill and we have Abigail Spanberger, two powerhouses in democratic politics, even beyond that. We also have, you know, more local elections that were won by Democrats. We gained a lot of ground in Georgia. We won our first statewide race in Georgia in two decades. So we are gaining ground. And that's why J.D. Vance has to start off his post by saying, quote, I think it's idiotic to overreact to a couple of elections in blue states. But a few thoughts. Before we even get into his thoughts, he is wrong. His opening line is wrong. And this was debunked
Starting point is 00:02:43 by Marie Harf on Fox News. Take a listen to this clip. Last night, blue politicians won in blue cities. Do we need to get the messaging right heading into the midterms? Yes. But Donald Trump's methods, again, are working. Joe Biden's took us to 9.1% inflation. I've got the data. I've got the facts. And President Trump, I guarantee you, is going to share those facts in about 51 minutes. Your takeaways. Well, look, Democrats didn't just win in blue places.
Starting point is 00:03:06 They broke the supermajority in the Mississippi state legislature. They flipped seats in Texas that had never even been competed recently. They, in parts of Virginia that were, that are deep red. The average, I think, was six points towards Abigail Spamberger in New Jersey. Mikey Sherrill got a bigger margin than Pat Murphy, than Governor Murphy did. a couple years ago. So it's not just that we won in blue places. Democrats won all over the country, and I think a few things are clear. Number one, when Donald Trump himself is not on the ballot, his ideas don't win. And all of these candidates, look, Mikey, Cheryl, Abigail Spanberger,
Starting point is 00:03:41 very different candidates than Zohan Mandami. They are moderates. They worked in the national security field, but they talked about affordability. And Donald Trump himself even admitted the shutdown, the Republicans are getting blamed for it, and that they need to, to talk more about affordability. Donald Trump properly diagnosed the problem. I mean, so J.D. Vance's first line is just wrong. He says these are just a couple of elections in blue states. Like, this isn't an indicator that the Democratic Party is seeing a little bit of a revive. Now, I'm not saying that we are back. We just took a massive loss about a year ago, but all of these candidates overperformed Kamla in the same states and districts,
Starting point is 00:04:19 meaning that I think Kamala ran a pretty solid campaign. She only had 100 days and she was a black woman fighting an uphill battle in America. So it was such a tough race for her, and she did great. But all of these candidates are overperforming Kamala, meaning there was something uniquely weak about her campaign, and the Democratic Party is now coming back. So let's continue. J.D. Vance then says, Scott Pressler, he spells Scott's name wrong. He says, Scott Pressler, TPSA, and a bunch of others have been working hard to register voters. He goes on to point out that, quote, our coalition is lower propensity, and that means we have to do better at turning out voters we have in the past. He then says, number two, we need to focus on the home front.
Starting point is 00:04:57 The president has done a lot that has already paid off in lower interest rates and lower inflation. I don't know about that. But we inherited a disaster from Joe Biden and Rome wasn't built in a day. He says, we're going to keep working to make life affordable. Where's that word again? Republicans are talking about affordability a lot over the past 12 hours. I don't know. Was there some successful campaign that was just run purely off affordability that Republicans are now realizing, oh shit, we've been lacking on this? So before I even debunk all this as a whole when he's talking about lower inflation. Consumers are struggling more than they were under the end of Biden's term. It has gotten worse. To continue, number three, he says, the infighting
Starting point is 00:05:33 is stupid. I care about my fellow citizens, particularly young Americans being able to afford a decent life. When he's talking about the stupid infighting, is he talking about Nick Fuentes? I don't know. So John Favro responds with a pretty sharp response. He says, number one, good luck turning out these voters when the only talented politician in your party won't be on the ballot. He's talking about Donald Trump in 2028. And people will immediately be like, wait a minute, is he calling Trump a talented politician? Relative to the rest of the GOP, who's just dog shit at turning out any voters, Donald Trump seems to be able to turn out a lot of low propensity voters with his unique messaging strategy. That is not me praising Donald Trump. I'm just saying he seems to be one of the
Starting point is 00:06:11 Republicans that's able to turn people out. And that was proven last year. Number two, he says, Is Rome the reference you really want to use, J.D. Vance, as you build a $300 million ballroom to go with your gold-plated renovations while imposing a sales tax in cutting off food assistance? Is that really the reference you want to go with? And number three, does party unity include making peace with Nick Fuentes? Weird, you haven't said a word about this. These are all great takedowns of J.D. Vance's terribly cope-filled tweet. You know what's a Cope-filled-filled tweet when the first line.
Starting point is 00:06:44 The first line is so debunkable that he just has to poison the well by lying about the rest of the tweet, lying about what happened on the national stage. It wasn't good for Republicans, and you saying that it was just a couple of elections in blue states is downplaying it. Now, I want to get on to Donald Trump's reaction because beyond his tweets, which we'll forget to, he also was apparently pretty pissed off at a lot of GOP senators this morning. Let's start here. News, inside the room per multiple GOP senators, after reporters were kicked out. Trump said that the election results show that the shutdown has been, quote, worse for us than for them, and that ours, quote, are getting killed. Let me reread this one more time because there's a lot of this one sentence. So after the reporters were kicked out of the room, meaning this isn't coming from reporters.
Starting point is 00:07:32 Whatever I'm reading right now, this is a leak coming from a GOP senator, maybe Lindsey Graham. You'll see why it might be Lindsey Graham in a second. Trump then said the election results showed that the shutdown has been worse for us than them, meaning Republicans, it's worse for them. He then says that ours, quote, are getting killed. Maybe because this maps on with the reality that Republicans are actually the ones enacting the government shutdown, they are fighting against the increase of ACA, or they're fighting against the extension of ACA subsidies, rather, sorry.
Starting point is 00:08:01 And number three, Donald Trump is personally holding SNAP, food assistance, hostage from tens of millions of Americans who are vulnerable. What is this reality that we live in which any Democrat could be blamed for this? So Donald Trump, in the closed door meeting, said this is worse for us than for them. Trump then said the GOP will become a, quote, dead party if they don't nuke the filibuster, Lord of mercy. Just so you guys know, back in 2017, when we were under Trump's first government shutdown, he also said he wants to terminate the filibuster. And his reasoning was that if Democrats ever get back in power, the first thing they're going to do is terminate the filibuster. Well, guess what? Joe Biden got in power. He didn't do that. He played by the rules.
Starting point is 00:08:39 he was steady-handed. Honestly, a lot of my critiques about Joe Biden, looking back on his presidency, come from the fact that he played by the rules a lot. Like, we should all be aligned that Merrick Garland was a pretty bad pick because he wanted Merrick Garland to return to the norm. Biden seems to have misread the moment, thinking that we were in a return to the norm phase when we were not in a return to the norm phase. And Trump exploited that, exploited the fact that Biden was risk-averse, and Trump took risks by, you know, using insane rhetoric. And I guess it paid off. Continue. Trump got into it with Lindsey Graham after Graham tried to make the point that they can still use reconciliation to pass legislation. Again, Lindsey Graham points out, hey, we can still use reconciliation to pass legislation with a simple majority. And Trump snapped at Graham and said, Lindsay, you and I both know that there's so much you can't do with reconciliation. That is what Trump snapped over at Lindsey Graham. Trump on Democrats election blowout, quote, I don't think it was good for Republicans. We don't know. We don't know who leaked. this specific conversation yet, but it could be Lindsey Graham.
Starting point is 00:09:44 He got snapped at. It could be any of the GOP senators in the room, but just understand that reporters were kicked out before this. Now let's check out what's going on in Miami because Donald Trump has made an intentional, an intentional effort to talk more about affordability, about prices. I mean, this is something he always kind of rambles through, but they seem to be putting a unique emphasis on this today. He said earlier this morning, happy anniversary.
Starting point is 00:10:07 On this day, November 5th, one year ago, we had one of the greatest presidential victories in history. Look at the cope. You can tell he's coping so hard. He's trying to talk about one year ago to redirect the attention off of what happened 12 hours ago. He then says, our economy is booming and costs are coming way down. Affordability is our goal. Love to the American people. He's striking quite a different tone.
Starting point is 00:10:30 Most of his tweets on the past few weeks have been about James Comey or Latisha James or Canada or Xi Jinping. Now he's realizing, wait a minute, affordability needs to be a priority, and it hasn't been. They've been messing around with tariffs. But let's watch this clip of Trump just an hour ago. Although I must tell you, but this is a much more powerful term. I mean, this is a much better term. In one way, it's bad to see how bad people. You're going to see the same thing in New York, by the way.
Starting point is 00:10:56 You watch what happens in New York. Terrible. But you're going to see that same thing. And I hope it doesn't happen, but you're going to see it. Gas prices are surging to $5 a gallon. even higher, and mortgage rates skyrocketed by 152%. But under the Trump administration, all of that is changing. Prices are coming down very fast, and we're bringing them back to the beautiful...
Starting point is 00:11:20 Okay, now he's talking a lot about affordability. He crashes out throughout the rest of the speech. We'll look at some clips. But part of the reason why Donald Trump harps so much on the Biden admin is because of all of the external extrinsic factors that did screw up Biden's economy. had not only COVID, not only spending that we had to enact due to COVID, but we also had Russia invading Ukraine, which messed up supply chains. Biden did pass the Inflation Reduction Act, which was good, but then the American Rescue Plan may have led to a little bit more
Starting point is 00:11:50 inflation. The point is, during Biden's term, due to extrinsic factors, we saw a spike of inflation in 2022 to 2023. These are just facts. This isn't a Republican talking point. We did see more inflation under Biden, but it wasn't directly because of Biden's policies. There were a lot of extrinsic factors, but Donald Trump is able to point to those numbers and say that he's doing better than Biden was, which is like, dude, Biden had five different things going on, five different fires that you were trying to put out with Russia stopping supply chains, with all of the stuff. And at the end of the day, what you really want to compare are the numbers when Biden left office versus when Trump is in office now. So when Biden left office, which was 10 months ago, let's just say, let's just go cleanly 11 months ago. So when Biden was still firmly in office, 11 months ago back in December, almost every single macroeconomic indicator was doing better when Biden was leaving office.
Starting point is 00:12:44 Yes, the stock market has hit all-time highs, but it's always hitting all-time highs. The point that I'm trying to make is that Trump will constantly relentlessly harp on affordability when he has no clue how to fix any of this, and he just tries to compare himself to extrinsic factors during Biden's term. Trump then tries to say that Newsom should be called New Scum, or actually slimy new scum? Like, this dude is just, he's reaching. a slimy one. Maybe that should be his nickname. Slimy, slimy newscom, right? But he doesn't have it. But you look at... Like 20 minutes after he says he wants to focus on affordability, he just can't stop himself from calling people nicknames. Trump then tries to gaslight about
Starting point is 00:13:20 food stamps or food insecurity across the United States when the big ugly bill cut snap. It cut benefits. This dude is just lying, trying to act like he's the guy who's for affordability. In nine months, we've lifted over 600,000 Americans off of food stamps, which... This is just a lie. There's a record. 1.9... Wait, by lifting 600 million Americans off of food stamps, do you mean kicking 600 million Americans off of snap benefits? Because that's more accurate.
Starting point is 00:13:49 I'm going to leave it there. If you appreciate the videos we make on the Adam Acre Channel, double check to make sure you're subscribed. I love you all. Peace out.
