2026 has been a uniquely disastrous and embarrassing day for the Republican Party and Donald Trump's grip on power. They now are going to have a one-seat majority in Congress due to a string of odd events, such as a Republican congressman dying overnight and Representative of Marjorie's Hather Green, resigning at midnight on January 5th. This is perhaps the most disastrous January 6th for the Republican Party in a few years. As Pres points out, Republicans are in serious danger of losing the House before the November election. This would render Donald Trump useless, a lame duck president who is neutered before the

midterm election even comes. It's normal for an opposition wave to hit the midterm during a president's term. It is uniquely, uniquely probable during this midterm election due to Donald Trump's awful first two years. The economy is not improved. He's doing disastrous and also rather desperate regime changes in Latin America to distract from the issues at home. And now he is going to be a lame duck due to, first of all, California GOP congressman Doug LaBalfa passing away at the age of 65. Rest in peace, genuinely tragic whenever somebody passes away. 65 is rather young.

That is still rather young to pass away suddenly. The Republican House majority now stands at 218 to 213, which is technically a two-seat majority because they can only suffer two people defecting over to the other side. Andrew Solander then points out Marjorie Taylor Green's resignation letter. It was submitted and it is effective January 5th at 1159 p.m. It says, Dear Governor Kemp, I am writing to notify you of my retirement as a member of the United States House of Representatives for the 14th Congressional District of Georgia. After this string of events, Donald Trump gets on stage in a desperate manner on January 6th, five years after he tried to coup the effing country, it is a huge, huge failure of this country's justice system.

And honestly, the voter base that this man is back in power. He goes on stage and just makes a fool of himself. I want to show you what he said about Congressman Doug Lamalfa, because honestly, it's incredibly, incredibly disrespectful. He makes the entire situation about himself in between him having some weird clown meltdown. First of all, why does his skin look like that? Why is it orange? Why is he always like brown? He's literally, what is this? As Medi Hassan points out, the only thing that future historians and Americans in decades and centuries to come, crazier than these images,

and the fact that this guy was elected president a second time is that he succeeded a guy who apparently, apparently was the mentally and intellectually incompetent one, apparently Joe Biden is the mentally deficient, incompetent one in this situation. Let's hear Donald Trump's reaction to the death of Congressman Doug Lamalfa. Notice how he immediately makes it about himself and his own votes. Take a listen. Our tremendous sorrow at the loss of a great, great, great, great member, Congressman Doug Lamalfa, who passed away yesterday, as you probably have heard.

And he was the leader of the Western Caucus, a fierce. champion on California water issues. He was great on water. He wanted to release the water. He'd scream out. And a true defender of American children, he was a defender of everybody. And our hearts go out to his wife, Jill,

and his entire family. You know, he voted with me 100% of the time. And by the way, he wasn't a 3 o'clock in the morning person. Do you know what I mean by that? Whether Speaker goes, sir, could you call up? Could you call? I said, what time is it, Speaker? Sir, it's free.

I mean, this was truly a disastrous and embarrassing press conference from the president of the United States five years after January six. Also, January sixers at this moment were assembling in Washington, D.C. for the fifth anniversary of their failed coup against the United States. I said, unironically, these are traitors to our country. I also pointed out Ashley Hussein Babbitt. I don't know. I tweeted out at like 7 a.m. I just thought it was funny. But to continue, Trump, Then, five years after January 6 gives a dictatorial speech in Washington, D.C. It's not even conservative.

It's common sense. But the press has no credibility whatsoever. Think of it. I got 97% bad stories on one network, 93% on the other. And I won in a landslide. You know what that means? The press has no credibility. That's all it means.

And we got to keep it that way. So I don't talk too much about... We got to keep it. keep it that way. He doesn't talk much about the press. This is why he's constantly leveraging lawsuits against ABC, against 60 minutes, against Paramounts, against the New York Times, against the Washington Post, against Rupert Murdoch, lawsuit after lawsuit against the media, because he wants to silence and suppress dissent. Here's Donald Trump admitting why we basically removed Maduro. There were rumors and reports that it was because Maduro imitated Trump's dance too much and triggered

the hell out of Trump, and then he confirmed it because he can't stop himself. and, you know, he's a violent guy. He gets up there and he tries to imitate my dance a little bit. We have perhaps the most immature president in the history of the United States. As I pointed out, it was a failure of the American justice system and American people to let Trump back into power after January 6th. But let's get back to the House math. As Annie points out, the punishing, punishing House math. For the whole month of February, Republicans will have a one-vote majority, a one-vote majority, a one-one.

one vote majority. In March, if they fill Marjorie Taylor Green's seat, Johnson will temporarily have a two-vote majority. In April, when Dems fill Mikey Sherrill's seat, it will go back to a one-vote margin. As Prez points out, Republicans are now in serious danger of losing the House before the November election. After the death of California Republican Doug Lamalfa, Republicans have a two-seat majority. With the special election coming up in New Jersey, it will be a one-seat majority again. This means Mike Johnson could not lose a single vote from any Republican to pass a bill, not one Republican. With several Republicans leaving office early this year, it's possible a Dem could pick up one of those seats and retake the House before the November election. This would genuinely kill Trump's term.

He would be a lame duck president who was only confined to his sad executive orders that will be repealed once the next Democrat comes in. Then, if Democrats have the majority in Congress, we can actually. launch more investigations. We can have more oversights. We will have much more power to prosecute and impeach certain people that should have never gotten the power in the first place. People like Pete Heggseth can be impeached at least once we take the Senate as the midterms come around. You know, we are the variable the Trump administration did not think of. They have sent lawsuits against the media. They've sent lawsuits against college campuses, against law firms, against other smaller independent craters.

There have been lawsuits, lawsuits, lawsuits. But what they didn't realize is that there is a massive, widespread community of like-minded people across the country who every single day still want to fight for our democracy. Like, it feels like CBS has given up. It feels like a lot of the mainstream media has given up. It feels like a lot of the resistance from Trump's first term, the institutions that held, have given up in some ways.
