All right, this is brutal, brutal.
brutal for the Republican Party. Donald Trump just made a choice that may cost them a Senate seat in Texas.
And the reporting says that Senate Republicans are shaken, they are angry, they are pissed at Donald Trump,
and they are honestly full of despair at this current moment because of Donald Trump's awful choice.
This reads, Senate GOP expresses frustration, anger, and sadness as Trump snubs Cornyn in Texas.
Now, this has a lot of implications for the future of the Republican Party and the future of the Senate.
Donald Trump endorsed the weaker candidate in this race during their Republican runoff.
John Cornyn is a sitting senator in Texas.
He is an incumbent who was up for re-election and who honestly probably could have won if he wins the primary.
Like, he would have a decent chance of going off against Tala Rica.
It would be very competitive.
Now, Donald Trump decided to endorse Ken Paxton, the Texas Attorney General, that is plagued with all sorts of scandals.
Bribery, corruption, abuses of power, allegedly cheating, allegedly abusing his power to then cover up the cheating.
I mean, he's really just a bad candidate.
Even his own party had to reprimand him for his insane abuses of power.
That is Ken Paxton.
Trump decided to endorse Ken Paxton, the worst candidate after a Republican.
like Senate Majority Leader Thune had been advocating for Cornyn over and over and over.
They said, please, please allow it to be Cornyn because he's not plagued with scandal.
He's an incumbent, which gives him an advantage, and they were already pouring millions of dollars into Cornyn's reelection.
So Donald Trump just burned millions of dollars.
He burned Cornyn, burned the Republicans in the Senate, and maybe burning the seat entirely.
It's quite a beautiful thing to witness.
And the best part is, it's all because of Trump's ego.
He's got like a personal beef with Cornyn because Cornyn didn't stick up for him a few years ago and that is why Trump is so pissed
So let's break all of this down

We'll dig into this in just one moment but I want to start off
with what Republican Senate Majority Leader Thune said.
He seems very disappointed that Trump made this decision.
Given that you've spent months trying to encourage, persuade the president to endorse John Cornyn
in the Texas primary, and given that the NRC has invested heavily to help Cornyn win that primary,
how personally disappointed or frustrated are you with the president's decision to endorse Ken Paxton today?
Well, I think you all know my position on this issue.
I've made it very clear for months now.
and Senator Cornyn is a principal conservative.
He is a very effective senator for the state of Texas.
This guy is not happy.
This is the Republican Senate Majority Leader.
He's not happy.
But I don't, none of us control what the president does.
He made his decision about that.
That doesn't change the way I feel.
And I am certainly supportive.
I will continue to be supportive of Senator Cornyn in his relationship.
Okay, so he's not happy.
You can see it visibly.
He's just rather pissed off.
Okay, now let's jump over to the new polling that is being released.
I want to add one more layer to the story of the Texas Republican runoff.
And that layer is James Talarico.
So on the Democratic side, we are uniquely poised to have a candidate that Republicans are threatened by.
On the Democratic side, we have a unique candidate who is affable, he's religious, he can speak to both sides,
he can go on Fox News and put up a good performance, and then go on CNN the same day and putting any even better performance.
It's really brilliant how James Talleyko operates.
And he has a very real chance of winning, according to the polling.
It's almost a perfect storm.
James Tilariko has spent years building his roots in Texas as a state senator.
Then the Republicans go into a runoff race, which means Tala Rico has like a three-month head start or so.
He has multiple months of a head start to start his campaign, to start attacking the enemy, to start building his own vision.
And the Republicans are stuck battling each other.
And then all of that ends in the weakest possible Republican candidate.
Ooh, chef's kiss.
It is just beautiful.
Let's check out with the polling section.
Chief, abacus, analyst, Harry, Anton.
All right, Harry.
So look, President Trump has a really successful record of picking Republicans to win in Republican primary.
Let me point out, Harry Enton is somebody that Trump will not shut up about.
This guy on the right, Harry Enten, Trump cites him every single day.
Not because Harry Enten gives, like, pro-Trump numbers.
Not because Harry Enten is even biased in any way.
I actually think he does rather great work.
But it's because he one time did a poll showing that among MAGA Republicans,
Trump has a 100% approval rating.
So among Republicans who consider themselves MAGA Republicans, I can't even say it,
Trump has a 100% approval rating.
The point he was showing is that among other types of Republicans,
let's say like Pence Republicans, he has a lower approval rating.
among far, far right, Nick Fuentes,
a lower approval rating.
So Trump then took that and says,
I have a 100% approval rating,
and he always cites Harry Enden.
It's kind of just like,
it's kind of comical at this point.
Harry Enton must hate it.
Why are some Republicans concerned
about Attorney General Ken Paxson
if he is the Republican nominee?
It simply put, they're looking at the numbers.
They are looking at the numbers
and the idea that Democrats can't win in Texas,
I want to put that to rest.
They could very well do it.
James Telerico could very well win in Texas.
And I want to use a comparison point with 2018, because there was all this talk about Better O'Rourke, right?
Oh, could he beat Ted Cruz?
He could beat Ted Cruz.
The numbers at this point in that campaign simply put did not support that conclusion.
But the numbers at this point absolutely support the conclusion that James Tullerico can win.
So take a look, Texas Senate polls in May of the election year.
When you matched up O'Rourke, Better O'Rourke versus Ted Cruz, Ted Cruz.
Ted Cruz was up by seven points.
He was clearly ahead.
But look at the polling average now when you max up Ken Paxton versus James Talaico.
It's actually Tala RICO that's ahead by four.
points. And Johnny B, I was looking back at every single Texas Senate race that I could find,
and at this point in the campaign, James Talleyco is polling better than any Democrat in at least
24 years. You have to go all the way back to 2002 to find a Democrat even polling anywhere close
to where Talley Rico is polling right now. Texas, Democrats have dreamt about turning it blue.
This time, the numbers actually support the idea that they may actually be able to do it.
I have to say, this is a difference that I have not seen before, and I was.
not aware of and a lot of people are making the comparison to 2018. One of the reasons is that
Ken Paxson, if he's a nominee, not a super popular nominee and people like, oh, well, Ted
Cruz as an incumbent center, he wasn't that popular either. So what's the difference between
Cruz and Ken Paxson? Yeah, the idea that Ted Cruz was not that popular, that's a falsehood.
That has simply put a falsehood. You go back. Again, just look at these differences right here.
Okay, Texas, GOP candidate net favorability. Ted Cruz's net favorability was actually plus seven points
in my average report. Look what Ken Paxton is.
The complete inverse of that, he was seven, he's seven points underwater.
So look, again, you just look at the numbers.
In 2018, Democrats had this dream of turning Texas.
The numbers didn't support it in large part because Tech Cruz was actually decently popular,
but Ken Paxton is anything but in poll after poll after poll.
He is underwater.
No wonder Republican senators are running scared,
especially after that Trump endorsement of Paxton yesterday.
Yep, Trump may have just pushed him over the line.
Now, there's more to cover in just one moment,
but they are absolutely pissed at this.
For example, after Trump said he was endorsing in Texas the other day,
before he announced who it was, he just said he was endorsing,
Senator Tim Scott called President Trump on Tuesday
with a last ditch plea to back Cornyn.
He really, really, really wanted there to be a backing of Cornyn.
Trump energized off of beating Cassidy
and aggravated with Thune in the Senate,
did not listen and decided to back Paxton.
This says President Trump's decision on Tuesday to snub Senator John Cornyn and endorse state attorney general Ken Paxton in the Texas Senate Republican primary was met with frustration, anger, and even sadness by Senate Republicans.
The move likely sinks Cornyn's hopes of winning another Senate term, and Republicans warned it could make it tougher to defeat Democratic candidate James Tilarico in November.
Oh, you better bet that it will be much, much tougher.
Let's watch this clip of Donald Trump talking about Ken Paxton and James Taylorico.
Let's see what kind of opposition research they have on James Talorico.
Let's see if they have anything strong.
Today, who's Ken Paxton, I think he'll win.
I think probably he'll win very substantially.
And I think he'll go on to defeat a very defective candidate, a candidate that believes in six genders.
And he takes hits to Jesus Christ.
And he's wearing a mask six months ago.
Where's a guy?
Anybody wearing a mask six months ago doesn't get it.
And he's a vegan.
He's a vegan in Texas.
And you can't get elected as a vegan in Texas.
I'm so glad someone told him how to say that word.
Last week on the show, we were talking about how Trump kept saying, vegan.
He's a vegan, he's a vegan.
Clearly he'd never heard the word, only read it.
So now his attacks against James Tallerico are the following.
James Talariko believes in six genders.
I don't even know if that's true.
Also, who cares?
The economy sucks.
Number two, James Tala.
Tyler Rico takes hits at Jesus.
Are we kidding me?
Dr.
Not doctor, sorry.
Trump made a photo of himself as Jesus and then said he was a doctor.
I almost called him Dr. Trump for a second there.
Trump is the one who disrespects Jesus.
Every single time he talks about Jesus.
James Tyler Rico wore a mask six months ago.
Nobody cares about this, dog.
This is not a real scandal.
He could have been sick.
Maybe he has an immunocompromised family member.
And then he says James Tilarico is a vegan.
He's not a vegan.
James Tyler Rico did an ad like one time where he talked about meat or taking a day off eating meat.
And now they're trying to say he's this vegan.
The opposition research is so incredibly weak.
It's almost comical.
I want to end the video off with this photo of Senator John Cornyn just about two months ago.
And it says, recommended.
And it's him reading the art of the deal.
John Cornyn so badly wanted a Trump endorsement that he was almost going to name a highway after Trump.
he was glazing Donald Trump, reading his books, quote unquote, reading his books.
It looks like he's only like one chapter in and constantly appealing to Trump.
I mean, look at this guy's eyes.
He's got like a sad desperation in his eyes that he has to be reading Trump's book in order to get the Senate endorsement.
Harry's assistant says, Cornyn did all of this humiliating worship stuff just for him to, just for Trump to endorse his opponent.
Republicans still don't realize that Trump will abandon you as soon as his,
convenient. And here is Trump's post.
Quote, Ken Paxton has gone through a lot.
In many cases, verily unfairly, but he is a fighter who knows how to win.
Dude, he hasn't gone through a lot.
He's done a lot of corrupt shit.
He's like a hugely corrupt guy.
So, of course, Trump adoress him.
We can never allow what happened to the United States of America during corrupt Biden
administration to happen again.
In Texas alone, just to look at the border.
He then talks about, you know, court in a bit.
And Ken Paxton is all personal grievances.
And it's hilarious. I'm going to leave it there. If you appreciate these videos, if you appreciate the news that we bring on the Adam Ackler feed, make sure you drop a like. Make sure you subscribe. We will continue to fight back against MAGA for you all. Love you all. Peace out.
