I want to bring you all a simple yet very important video.
Donald Trump's head is spinning this morning, not because we're almost five days into a government
shutdown, but he's mad because Fox News decided to air an interview with Democratic Senator Mark
Kelly of Arizona, and in that interview, Mark Kelly gives the Democratic point of view on the
shutdown, which is quite simple and intuitive.
We don't want to fund the government in such a way that strips health care away from
tens of millions of Americans, when we can just as easily fund it in a clean way that helps
vulnerable populations.
Well, Mark Kelly explained this on Fox News to the Fox audience, and Donald Trump was
furious on truth social.
I mean, just to back up, we're five days, almost five days into the shutdown, and rather
than trying to have a negotiation, actually, it seems like this is going to go on for at least
a week longer due to the way Mike Johnson is delaying.
But rather than Trump trying to fix it, he is attacking Fox News.
After spending the past few months attacking Jimmy Kimmel, Stephen Colbert, James Comey, John Bolton, even the city of Chicago, the city of Portland, city of L.A.
I can continue. He's attacking all of these. And now Fox News isn't aligned with him enough.
This is what I mean when I say he tries to ideologically consolidate everybody around him.
The president should not be tweeting about news organizations.
In the Obama era, this never happened.
Obama never tweeted,
I didn't like CNN's coverage of me today.
MSNBC wasn't towing the line perfectly.
No, Obama was a normal president.
So the simple video that I want to make is I want to read this Trump post.
And then I want to show you multiple clips of Senator Mark Kelly on Fox News,
explaining exactly the stakes, how many people are going to lose health care.
And here's the real kicker.
Here's why I think Trump is mad.
There's a moment where Mark Kelly says the rumor is, essentially, Trump doesn't fully understand what's going on with the health care pieces.
Like, there's a lot of nitty gritty policy at play, and Trump can't fully wrap his head around all of the moving pieces and the tradeoffs that are required with health care to pass a bill like this, which makes sense.
Trump's not a policy dude.
So Mark Kelly says, the president doesn't seem to understand what's happening here.
He's just shouting into the void, and let's start here.
Trump said this morning at 10.46 a.
Why is Fox News and Peter Ducey putting on Democrat Senator Mark Kelly to talk about totally unabated or challenged health care?
The fake spin is so bad for Republicans that it is hard to believe that we win.
Ooh, Trump is coping hard here.
He's hard to believe that we win, says Trump.
It will be very unfair in the future when they don't have Trump to fight for them.
Is he talking about like his death or out?
after he's out of office. Okay, to continue. Therefore, we should fix it now. I'm watching
this interview. It just doesn't end. Fox should either get on board or get off board now,
but at this point, it doesn't make any difference to me. They suck up the ratings because
of us, and then spin them in the Democrats' direction. They refuse to put up polls that
correctly show me at 65% in popularity. No polls show that. And last time Fox News put up
data that you wanted Trump, it got them sued for $787 million for spreading fake election
fraud theories.
To continue, if I have a fake bad poll, many of which are done by Fox, one of the worst pollsters out there is Fox News poll, they put them up immediately.
Actually, in reality, Fox News does have a good polling sector.
The Fox News polling sector has, like, nothing to do with the Jesse Waters sector, so Fox News' polling is quite accurate, generally.
They put them up immediately. Republicans are so tired of this fight with Fox, always trying to be politically correct.
Thank you for your attention to this matter.
What is he so mad about Senator Mark Kelly saying?
Well, let's check it out.
And this comes down to one thing.
This is about the price that Americans have to pay for their health care.
So it could be easily fixed.
I mean, we could, we could sort this out, you know, next week sometime or even as early as Monday.
If Mike Johnson would bring back the Republican House, we get together and have a real negotiation,
a bipartisan negotiation about how to bring down these high costs for the American people.
I don't know how any American citizen can blame them.
shut down on the Democrats when, number one, Republicans hold all chambers, but it does take 60
votes. So Speaker of the House, Mike Johnson decided to not even bring people back for a vote.
Like, Speaker of the House, Mike Johnson is delaying while Democrats are in D.C. and ready to go.
That's the problem. Here is Senator Mark Kelly continuing to explain that Trump just doesn't
understand this. And you're talking about the price of health care and immigrants.
The heart of the disagreement seems to be that Republicans do not think that it, it will be that
illegal immigrants should have access to taxpayer-funded health insurance.
And they don't.
So the Democratic position, your official position here,
is that illegal immigrants should not have any access to taxpayer-funded health insurance.
Does that include federal and state?
Well, the federal law is that undocumented individuals do not have access to Medicare, Medicaid,
food stamps, even the Affordable Care Act.
That's the law.
So this is a red herring from my Republican colleagues.
They don't want to help folks out because they needed that money.
And this should be pretty simple for people to understand.
When they gave that extension of the 2017 tax cuts, which helped out the richest Americans,
it was partially paid for by taking away Medicaid and taking away these ACA tax credits for people who just can't afford health care.
Now I see why Trump was so mad. To be honest, now I see why Trump is so mad. But did Mark Kelly just dare go on Fox News and speak the truth? We don't do that on Fox News. Donald Trump's post, like, reread it, it's literally just him begging Fox to spread his lies. Please spin for me. Please spread my lies, Fox News. That's essentially what Donald Trump's saying. Here is Mark Kelly continuing to explain.
But when you consider millions of people possibly losing their health care or going bankrupt,
when people lose their health care, they die.
I mean, that is the reality of this situation we're in.
And all we have to do is negotiate it.
Now, the majority leader in the Senate, John Thune, talks about, well, we'll have conversations.
We need more than conversations.
We need a real negotiation.
The president met with the four leaders of Congress about a week ago on Monday.
day. And it didn't even seem, the feedback we got, it didn't even seem that he understood what
these premium tax credits were. So the first step here is the president has to understand what's
going on. And when you look around the country and you see who this affects the most, it's folks
in rural areas. He won rural parts of this country in almost every state. So this affects his
voters. And it should never be about that. I mean, I get that. But I think we both know that, you know,
this president pays a close attention to his base. This is going to impact them significantly.
Ooh, that one was harsh. I mean, he's just speaking the truth. He says Donald Trump doesn't seem
to understand the policy of what's going on here. And Peter Ducey actually doesn't push back
that much. That's also why Trump was mad. He does, Peter Ducey just lets Mark Kelly make the argument.
And it seems like he's giving him a platform to speak the truth about what's going on. In turn,
placing pressure on Donald Trump amongst the base.
Right here, you see Senator Mark Kelly
explaining the effects in his home state.
By the way, make sure you drop a like
and subscribe to the Adam Hocker feed if you made it this far.
I love all of you.
This is not a game.
This is very serious.
We've got folks that aren't able to go to work right now,
but on November 1st, individuals are going to get these letters
if they haven't received them already.
Some have.
There are folks in Alaska who have received letters
that their premiums are going to go up from $600 a month,
to $4,000 a month. That's unaffordable. And in my state, in Arizona, 109,000 people are likely to lose
their health care, meaning that they are one accident or one illness away from bankruptcy.
This is not a game. Very, very true. I'm going to leave it there, but I hope you guys
understand a bit more the stakes at play. I mean, I know that everybody understands the
health care dynamics more so than Donald Trump. But the way that Mark Kelly really cleared the air
on the immigrant section of it i found to be enlightening so i hope you all did as well thank you all for
watching and peace out
