The segment features Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth's bizarre speech praising "maximum lethality" over legality. This comes as a bombshell New York Times report reveals a secret, botched SEAL Team Six mission in North Korea, greenlit by Trump, that left unarmed civilians dead and was illegally covered up from Congress. I can't help but feel like this entire administration is insulting to my intelligence.
Pete Hegseth, every time you speak, you insult my intelligence, and this morning was no different.
Now, right off the back of an awful jobs report that reflects very poorly on this administration and Trump's tariff policies, he decides to try to redirect the public's attention by renaming the Department of Defense to the Department of War.
Or so he claims Trump doesn't have the legal authority to do that without going through Congress.
But either way, this is going to be very costly, and it's just a terrible look for the United States on the global stage.
it undermines our stated mission as a country that's supposed to maintain international stability,
at least over the past decade or so, hypothetically.
I mean, obviously it's not really playing out like that,
as our president is taking bribes, threatening our allies,
welcoming our enemies on a red carpet in renaming the Department of Defense to the Department of War.
Well, at least our Defense Secretary, sorry, our War Secretary, it sounds so dumb.
Our Defense Secretary Pete Hexseth was in the Oval Office today,
speaking next to Donald Trump, and he was just reading notes, struggling to read notes off of this
piece of paper very quickly. One piece that people aren't talking about as it pertains to this
Department of Defense fiasco is just how much it'll cost. And we're going to cover a lot of issues
throughout this video, like the economy, like American taxpayers, suffering, paying for the richest
of the rich while we bleed manufacturing jobs. It's a huge problem. Trump and MAGA Republicans
may have identified some imbalances in our economy,
but in the wrong way.
There are wealth imbalances in our economy.
There is wealth inequality,
and we are bleeding manufacturing jobs
due to a lot of this and a lot of profit maximizing
rather than us being treated unfairly by other countries.
Either way, I digress.
The American taxpayers are paying for this Department of Defense Change as well.
This reads, the details of the order Trump signed Friday
are still vague, as they always are.
I'm sure Trump didn't even read the executive order or double check.
While the details are vague, officials may need to change defense department seals on more than 700,000 facilities in 40 countries and all 50 states, which would cost millions.
This includes everything from the letterhead for six military branches.
This is, quote, purely for domestic political audiences, said a former defense official.
Not only will this cost millions of dollars, it will have absolutely zero impact on Chinese or Russian calculations.
Really? We can't intimidate Vladimir Putin by letting him drone strike Russians, but just renaming our Defense Department?
That's not how war works.
Worse, says this Defense Department official, it will be used by our enemies to portray the United States as war mongering and a threat to international stability.
Exactly.
Well, at least we have Magapete Hexseth in the Oval Office struggling to read off of these notes that he very clearly prepared moments before.
Brian Metzker says, Secretary Hegset, reading off of notes at the DoD renaming announcement, quote, maximum lethality, not tepid legality.
Can we get any sort of intelligence in there?
I mean, I don't care about lethality or legality.
I want any sort of intelligence.
Please, let's listen to this.
It's going to fight decisively, not endless conflicts.
It's going to fight to win, not, not to lose.
We're going to go on offense, not just on defense.
Maximum lethality, not tepid legality.
Violent effect, not politically correct.
We're going to raise up warriors, not just defenders.
What is this chat GPTS speech, violent effect, not politically correct?
Who wrote this?
Who scribble?
this down on a piece of paper, Lord have mercy, our defense secretary is so brain fogged from his
alcohol consumption that he has to scribble down this poem about violence. After running on no
new wars, let me run you through a few quick things. First of all, I made a video about this
earlier, but this is one of the craziest effing stories I've ever heard. Let me run you through it very
quickly. The no new wars, or the peace administration, in 2019, in Trump's first term, sent a group of
Navy SEALs for a complex mission in North Korea. The objective was to plant an electronic device
that would let the United States intercept North Korea's leader Kim Jong-un's messages. The mission had
the potential to provide us a lot of valuable intelligence, but it was risky. It was the same
SEAL Team 6 Red Squadron that killed Osama bin Laden, the same unit essentially. They rehearsed
for months, every single move they rehearsed. When they got there with black wetsuits and night vision
goggles, a North Korean boat
appeared. Seals
opened fired. Within seconds,
everyone on the North Korean boat
was dead. The seals retreated.
It was a failure. No one ever
publicly mentioned it until dozens of officials
just recently
confessed to it in this report
from the New York Times. The point
is, the quote, peace president,
the no new wars administration,
is also sitting in the Oval Office talking
about how he wants to again
roll out the red carpet for Vladimir Putin.
So if we just back up, he said he was going to end the war in Ukraine in 24 hours.
Not only has it gotten worse, but he has set these arbitrary deadlines for Vladimir Putin,
saying that he is going to enact very severe consequences.
Then he doesn't.
He does nothing, which undermines his own word.
In fact, throughout all of this, he's deploying the U.S. military,
not to like train NATO or train troops in Ukraine or do anything that could help democracy.
this dude is deploying the U.S. military in Washington, D.C., in Los Angeles, maybe even Chicago.
Let's watch this clip of Donald Trump in the Oval Office being asked if he'll allow Putin back into the G20 summit,
which is a coalition of countries that meets, and it should be an unequivocal no.
You know what? Oh, my lord.
For the master negotiator, he doesn't understand leverage.
How about you just say this?
Putin, I will let you come to the G20 summit if you, you know.
you enact a ceasefire and actually stick to your word.
If you can show us that for multiple months you can not strike while we actually negotiate,
then we will let you temporarily visit.
I mean, even that is a big concession, but just listen to the way Trump handles this.
Poland, already I've issued them an invitation.
They were just here, as you know, great leader, great new leader.
one of the big surprises I was so happy I endorsed him actually and he won and he's going to be a great
leader of Poland but I've invited Poland already what about Russia I don't central I haven't
thought of that no I haven't thought of that this is an interesting question I'm going to think
about that for a little while please think about it a little bit more and a little bit harder
and use it as leverage of course he won't because he's soft on Putin some would say
beholden to Putin. But listen, what Donald Trump has done thus far is killed any sort of leverage
Ukraine has. So in Trump's mind, he's thinking about potentially letting Vladimir Putin come to the G20
summit. In Putin's mind, that allows him to continue skirting deadlines. There's no reason for him
to stop striking. And this is supposed to be the no new wars president. That's supposed to be the
president that is no new wars or that is the peace president. I mean, I'm going to have this clip
muted, but this is the Secretary of Defense Banner being removed in the White House, and they're
changing it to Secretary of War. What in the absolute hell is going on in our country?
We have a terrible jobs number, terrible jobs report. Manufacturing is absolutely plummeting because
our president did start a war. He started a world war with tariffs. A tariff war is. A tariff war is
that he cannot get a settlement to, and now they're more focused on renaming the Department of
War. Listen, one thing we are not going to do is bite on the distractions. When I made this
video, I made sure that we talked about the economy, about past cases, we talked about Russia,
Ukraine, we talked about the cost of this. We are going to continue to hammer home the facts
in a very relentless way, and that's what we do at Machra Media. We have a vision where we build
a very, very uniquely skilled team. We have Micah Irfan, policy advisor.
We have contributor Chris.
We have Victor editing.
We have Hayden, cooking up research all the time.
With this uniquely qualified team, we can push a pro-democracy message at a rapid pace.
Because the reality is right now, right-wingers are winning the media warfare.
I don't know why.
I think there's billions of investment over decades.
They built this infrastructure.
They pull in all of these views.
But we're going to create something that can punch back at that in an efficient way
and fight for the workers, fight for the people,
fight for democracy, clean energy, clean air around us, all of this.
If you believe in this vision, subscribe to the Macquarmedia feed.
We'll see you all in the next video.
Peace up.
