Starting point is 00:00:00 All right, I really want to break down one of the most disturbing clips I've seen over the past few years. The president of the United States. The commander-in-chief was goading the military into booing not only political opponents, not only entire more left-leaning states, but booing the media, the press. The idea of the freedom of press was being booed in unison by our armed forces, goaded by our commander-in-chief. It's a type of top-down disrespect and paranoia that Trump infects and injects the country with every single time he's the president, whether it's election fraud or COVID. He just is always in this manic state creating enemies and scapegoats.
Starting point is 00:00:40 And that is why, very, very quickly, that is why on June 14th we are doing the no king's protest. I will be there in Chicago and this is your chance to push back, to have your voice heard. In fact, if you plan on going or if you are just hearing about this, or you're kind of thinking about going, no matter what, I urge you to click the top link in the description below. The people who put this on created a specific link for people who watch the Mockler channel so you guys can go RSVP and find out more info about your state. This is our chance to go out there and to peacefully protest and allow our voice to be heard. And if you go out there, it's a great, great exercise in democracy and like-minded community
Starting point is 00:01:20 building. It will be the biggest, biggest protest that has happened thus far. All right. We'll talk about that more later. I do want to talk about the Fort Bragg soldiers who cheered Trump's political attacks and how they were checked for their allegiance to Donald Trump. You know, what makes this moment so divisive and alarming is not just Donald Trump's rhetoric anymore. It's the deliberate orchestration behind this event. Internal communications from the 82nd Airborne Division show that soldiers were screened for both political allegiance and appearance.
Starting point is 00:01:54 for those who were not supportive of the admin were told they need to be replaced in the audience. This was a tightly controlled spectacle designed to broadcast a message of military loyalty to Trump in contempt for his opponents. So I want to draw a few distinctions. Yes, while it may be true that people who serve in the military are disproportionately right wing, there are definitely more liberal in left-leaning military servicemen. And I'm sure many people in the comment section can back that up. Please, tell me your story in the comment section.
Starting point is 00:02:26 While that can be true, this is not representative of the average soldier. The average soldier will not be booing for the freedom of press. Again, this was a tightly controlled spectacle, and we know that because internal communications from the 82nd Division show that soldiers were screened. Let's read this article, then we'll watch the clips. First, make sure you drop a like, drop some blue hearts to help boost this video. We're trying to really drive the protests home. The peaceful protests.
Starting point is 00:02:52 driving force there. We're going to be live streaming in about three days on June 14th, so please make sure you have post notifications on, ready for the live stream. It's going to be three or four hours talking to people, talking to veterans, talking to the most vulnerable communities on the ground, using the platform to share their stories. But I'm done yapping about that. It was supposed to be a routine appearance, a visit from the commander in chief to rally the troops, boost morale, and celebrate the Army's 250th birthday. Instead, what unfolded bore little resemblance to the customary visit from a president and defense secretary. It was more of an authoritarian fashy show, display of force, display of loyalty.
Starting point is 00:03:33 As Trump viciously attacked his perceived political foes, he whipped up booze from the gathered troops directed to California leaders, including Gavin Newsom, amid the president's controversial move to deploy the National Guard against protesters there, as well as former President Joe Biden and the press. I want to point out a few things. every single soldier, and we'll play this in one second, we'll play the clip, every single person who booed for political opponents deserves to be dishonorably discharged, get them out of the military immediately. There needs to be consequences for going against your oath to protect not only the Constitution, but the First Amendment. When you say that you will protect people's right to assemble and right to protest and the freedom of expression, and then you go out there and you follow Trump's lead by booing California Governor Gavin Newsom or booing the media,
Starting point is 00:04:22 Yeah, get this person out of there. We want impartial people who serve the country and the Constitution, not the president. And you know what's annoying? I've spent the past four years having to defend Biden for this clip. I want to play you this clip. It's less than a minute. And if you've watched any debate, you may have heard this cited. But Biden says that MAGA Republicans and Trump are extreme, which is objectively true, objectively true.
Starting point is 00:04:48 And then afterwards, he clarifies. He says, not all Republicans. Republicans, not even most, but MAGA Republicans are. Now, MAGA Republicans themselves began to claim this was the most divisive thing a president has ever said. That's what they think. Too much of what's happening in our country today is not normal. Donald Trump and the MAGA Republicans represented extremism that threatens the very
Starting point is 00:05:16 foundations of our republic. Now, I want to be very clear. Very clear up front. Not every Republican, not even the majority of Republicans are MAGA Republicans. Not every Republican embraces their extreme ideology. I know because I've been able to work with these mainstream Republicans. But there's no question that the Republican Party today is dominated, driven, and intimidated by Donald Trump and the Maggot Republicans. Nothing he said there should be controversial at all.
Starting point is 00:05:52 The Republican Party is driven by MAGA Republicans. Maga Republicans are more divisive and extreme than the normal Republicans. That's why they exist. And, you know, then he clarifies, not all or even most Republicans. He was being actually unifying rather than divisive, yet Trump does this. The fake news, ladies and gentlemen, look at them, look at them all. Oh, what I have to put up with. Fake news.
Starting point is 00:06:18 What I have to put up with? They just booed the media. They booed what we do covering the truth. Fake news. What I have to put up with, do you think this crowd would have showed up for Biden? I don't think so. I don't think so.
Starting point is 00:06:38 Maybe I'm wrong. Maybe I'm wrong. In Los Angeles, the governor of California, the mayor of Los Angeles. You can barely hear, but they are booing him in the crowd. And to continue this article, for this story, military.com reached out to Defense Secretary Pete Higset's office, as well as the Army and the 82nd Airborne Division,
Starting point is 00:07:03 directly with a series of questions that ranged from the optics of the event to social media posts showing the sale of Trump campaign merchandise on the base to the apparent violation of Pentagon policies on political activity in uniform. Internal 82nd Division of Communications, reviewed by military.com, reveal a tightly orchestrated effort to curate the optics of the Trump's recent visit, including handpicking soldiers for the audience based on political learnings and physical appearance. The troops ultimately selected to be behind Trump and visible to the cameras were almost exclusively male. One unit-level message bluntly said, quote, no fat soldiers. Quote, if soldiers have political views that are in opposition to the current admin and they don't want to be in the audience, then they need to speak with the leadership and get swapped out, another note to soldiers said. Service officials declined to comment when asked about the extent to which troops were screened, whether soldiers displaying partisan cheers on television, a violation of long-standing Pentagon rules, would be disciplined, or if soldiers who subjected to participating in the event, citing disagreements with the admin, would be disciplined or admonished in any way.
Starting point is 00:08:11 Quote, this has been a very bad week for the Army and for anyone who cares about us being a neutral institution. There needs to be public trust. Could you imagine if President Biden had gotten like the soldiers to boo MAGA Republicans? Republicans' heads would explode. Tim Poole would never let it go, yet nobody says anything about this. That's why we need to reluctantly push back. And if you forgot, one more time, I very much so urge you, just for me, click the top link in the description and go to your city or your states and just check out. the RSVP link. It's completely free, and you can go to the No Kings protest, peacefully protest,
