Toodoo!
Welcome, Obsidian Covenant Member.
I appreciate you joining me here after hours
to take home some items from my private collection.
Come, have a seat, and join me for a drink.
This bottle, that glass,
you are about to sit from and the coaster on which that glass sits are all mementos from one of my favorite places in town.
In fact, it's just up the street. You should pay them a visit sometime. Although, no matter when you go,
somehow it's always last call. This one's called the bathroom at the bar. This particular night of
Drinking with the guys was solid.
Not amazing, not life-changing, but solid.
Unfortunately, I had to use the rest room.
I scoched out of my middle seat at the booth, you know, that awkward little shuffle,
where everyone beside you has to get out first so you can escape.
My body language was appropriately apologetic.
I emerged across the crowded floor.
busier than usual for Bar-Louis, I have to say, and made my way to the men's room.
I must have been halfway through with my business at the urinal when I heard the sound stop.
It was immediate.
That hum, the choir of voices outside the door, music, staccato conversations, shouting,
hellos and goodbyes and nonsense.
It was all gone.
I washed my hands and stepped back out onto the floor.
It was empty.
Fucking empty.
The scattered chairs and arrangements were still there.
But the people?
Nowhere to be found.
Well, my darling, that's all for now.
