Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the Erawadi.
On this Wednesday, September 23rd, to the...
And 26. Hello again, everyone.
I sure hope you're doing well.
It is great to be here on a lovely fall Wednesday in New York City.
I'm still lamenting the departure of summertime.
Greatest summer of our lives.
Greatest summer in New York City history.
but there's a lot to be excited about, a lot to be thankful for.
We had a phenomenal show yesterday, four amazing guests,
all centered around the amazing UFC 331 card.
How fun was that, amazing performances,
and we'll be talking more about that on today's program.
I also want to let you know it is Wednesday.
So that means two things.
Number one, on the nose on today's episode.
So back into the show,
ArielhoWani.substack.com is where you can,
is where you can send in your questions.
So thank you very much for that.
And I also want to let you know that it is Wednesday.
And that means that the newest episode of the Uncrown Beat is up right now on Amazon Fire TV.
So go check that out when you can as well.
I also want to let you know that today's program is brought you by our good friends over at Kalshi.
We love Kalshi around these parts.
As you know, by now they are a great part of what we are doing.
We appreciate them very much.
There's the QR code right there.
There's the, well, we've got the code Helwani, right?
Trade 25, they give you 25.
Yeah, you're holding out on me.
The Kalshi app is the place to be politics, sports, finance, crypto, culture, everything you need and more.
Trade 25, you get 25.
There's the QR code.
The code is Helwani.
Please support them because they support us.
We appreciate their support very much.
more on Cali later in the program as well.
Back end of today's show we'll do on the nose.
Prior to that, we are going to be speaking with Jack Caterall.
He's been embroiled in a bit of a feud, if you will, with Tia Fuma Lopez.
The WBA has ordered Lopez to fight him.
Lopez doesn't want to fight him.
He wants to fight Ryan Garcia or maybe a bigger name at 147.
Caterall, very good.
He's the, I guess they call him like the real, some weird name over in the
the WBA, what do they call him, the regular, the regular welterweight champion. It's very confusing.
Anyway, we'll get the skinny from him at about 325 at 3 o'clock. Pat Brown, who's one of the best
young fighters in the world, certainly in the cruiserweight division, is coming off a great win this
past weekend in Manchester, former Olympian. Actually, Kayla Harrison once told me you cannot be a
former Olympian. You are an Olympian for life. And so he is an Olympian, but he's doing amazing
things. He's 7 and 0 now. British Commonwealth's champion. Remember that name, Pat
Brown. We'll talk to him for the first time at 3 o'clock. 230. Patricio Pitbull is going to
join us to talk about his massive win over Duhu Choi. That was this past weekend, 331. Feels like
the first time we've seen the old Bellator version of Patricia Pitbull in the UFC. So that is very
exciting. We'll talk to him at 2.30. At 2 o'clock, Y'O. Romero is going to join us to talk about
his BKFC 94 main event against Darren Till this weekend. Probably the biggest fight on the combat
sports schedule for this weekend. So I'm looking forward to that chat very much. We love speaking
to the Soldier of God. We'll have some news and notes for you at 1.30. There's a lot to discuss.
Gable Steven has broken his silence and all kinds of other things. More on the shakeup as far
as John Martin leaving MVP is concerned. But first, it is a pleasure to be joined by one of the
very best heavyweights in the world, a man who will be returning to action on October the 24th
in Abu Dhabi, UFC 333. He is the one and only Alexander Volkov, and he's kind of to join us
right here now to talk about all things heavyweight. Hello, Alexander. How are you, my friend?
Hello, Ariel. Hi, everyone who are watching us. Finally, I'm here. Is this our first chat,
Alexander yeah like and I I I should do say two things before we start please first of all
sorry that I'm doing this interview from my car because I'm just in front of the dream I will
have my practice very soon I'm just very busy so sorry I'm doing from my car no problem
and another one sorry for my simple and broken language is not my native language so I will
try to do my best and please if it's possible speak a little bit slowly for
slowly for me so I can understand your question clearly and answer the best way.
Okay, well, first of all, thank you for joining us.
No matter if it's in your car or anywhere else, we appreciate it very much.
I want to apologize to you for taking so long to have you on the show.
So that's my mistake.
And I will speak very slowly and clearly so you understand everything that I'm saying.
It's great to have you on.
You're doing very great for me.
Thank you so much.
Are you living in Las Vegas now or do you just train out of Las Vegas?
I'm living in Las Vegas for last maybe four years.
Yes, I'm living here, training here.
So I find here like a good gym and good place to like not refresh my career,
but like kind of refreshing my skills to learn something new, you know,
to find new sparring partners, new team, new coaches.
So I'm kind of trying to develop myself.
And this is why I moved to US and to Vegas to train and to be the best guys and to be better version of myself.
Speaking of training in Las Vegas, I saw recently that you were training with my friend Alex the Terrible.
You know Alex.
Oh, he's my guy.
This is my guy.
He gave me this.
Wait, let's show, show.
Could we show Mr.
Look at this.
You see this.
He gave me this.
He gave me that.
This is great.
Thank you.
Alex is a great kind person.
You will never tell about him this if you never know him
because the song he did, he do,
and the person he is in life is so different.
Yeah.
He's very nice.
I want to say for all the fans, he's a real fighter.
Maybe he is not as professional and also like so deductible in half his fight career,
but he's very, very, like, very fight spirit.
So I'm very impressed by him and I support him and everything,
his music and his fighting and like everything he do.
So, Alex, one of the reasons why we wanted to have you on is because the heavyweight division
is very much in the news recently.
You know, we found out last week,
Tom Aspinall vacated the title.
We found out late last week
the title is going to be defended
Madison Square Garden in November.
You're fighting October 24th.
And I want to go back
to your fight against Surreal Gan,
which happened exactly December 7th,
2024, so almost two years ago.
And that was a fight that was very controversial
in which you thought you won,
the media thought you won,
a lot of the pundits thought you won
and it seemed like Dana White
thought you won and there's a clip of
Dana coming up to you and saying we're going to make
this right to you we're going to fix
this because he felt like you
were robbed do you feel
like it has been made right to you do you feel
like you have been rewarded for that
performance now almost two years later
yeah of course
he did all good for me
because see how
next fight with serial gun
and Thomas Penel goes
He just, I spoke him.
So you see, save me from this.
If you save me from everything, bad things again can do with me, like, with all cheating.
So they saved me to fight with him.
Because I think a lot of people thought that by making it right to you,
that would be giving you a title shot, giving you what you want.
But that hasn't happened.
Yeah, I know, but I'm not the person who involved in matchmaking, so I can tell you why this happens.
But yes, I still here fighting for to be a challenger for the belt.
So this is what it is, so I'm fighting.
I don't know, like they tell me some, but I'm...
I'm in this point right now.
So you said earlier that they saved you from fighting him again,
and I know you're maybe a little bit joking,
but do you feel like he is a dirty fighter?
Do you feel Cyril Gan tries to cheat in his fights in order to win?
We don't know if he do it for a purpose or not,
but he do it in every fight.
So I don't know.
Maybe he can't fight clear.
Maybe he did it for a purpose, but this is not good that from fight to fight, he does the same things,
and you see, don't do anything with that.
He kind of pull out the true champion, Thomas Pinald, who goes for this title for long, like, long pass.
And he injured it so badly.
He need to make surgery for his eye and everything,
and they still give, again, not disqualification or something,
or some penalties.
They just put him on the title again with a guy who never fought in heavyweight,
and he again started punching wrong place in the head.
So I don't know what the reason they put him,
and why they don't make any penalties for his dirty things in the fight,
we should think about it, we should do something like with the rules.
But I'm the guy who was eight rounds total with a serial gun.
He didn't any big damage for me for this whole eight rounds.
but from the first fight and from the second fight, from the boss fight, he was, for sure, was very injured with me.
And from the first fight, I kick his legs badly and he, I think, I saw his team tell his coach maybe that he can't walk like for a week after my, after our fight and after second fight, his leg was broken.
And so I totally know how to make it damage to him.
And this may be a reason he don't want to get this fight again.
In those two fights against you,
did you feel like he was trying to do things that were quote-unquote dirty?
Did you feel like he was trying to do those tactics on you?
In first fight, absolutely, he did.
He poked my eye as well in the last round.
And usually, like, I don't remember he did it one time or a few.
But, you know, in this close fight, when the opponent do this in last rounds, judges should notice this and make some marks about this because our first fight was very close.
I think so.
And this I poke, if they took point for this, I should win this fight.
But I'm not crying about it.
I'm like, I got it and I go through.
But second fight was also, like, he didn't do a lot of dirty for me in this fight
because I was a little bit changed tactics.
I was more, I used more pressure, like a little bit different things.
But everybody thinks they robbed me, so I think so because after the fight,
I was 100% sure I won.
I was very surprised.
I was like, you know, honestly by my heart, surprised with it.
I can't believe they put his arm up.
But this was this.
It's two years after that.
I'm still training.
I still keep winning.
This is what I can do to get back in the line
and give this fight like a good trilogy to fight him and win the belt.
So leading up to that fight,
you are on a great four-fight winning streak,
then that fight happens,
obviously the controversial loss,
and then you've now won two in a row.
But those two fights were against Jalton Almeida,
Waldo Cortez-A Costa, and now Rizvan Kuniev.
Meanwhile, he fought on the White House card.
He got the title fight,
he got the interim title fight,
and now he's fighting Madison Square Garden
for the undisputed belt.
He's just been elevated.
When you find out on Saturday
that it's him versus Josh Hokkaid
in Madison Square Garden for the belt,
and now he's the undisputed,
champion how do you feel how do you react oh I want to be honest with your
real I want to try explain please I'm I'm very support this fight from
you see I have a lot of reason this fight should should happen because
Josh Hoken what I know about him he have clearly dealing with something
mental illness so it's very very
you know, admirable for UFC to put the guy with a serious mental condition to title shot.
So, of course, he should go front of me.
You know, guys with this kind of reason should fight first.
For him, it's not possible, I think, in my opinion, to beat somebody in top five right now.
So this is like the easiest way to American heavyweight to get title shot right now.
And like it's incredibly experiencing story of the guy with a mental illness who can fighting for heavy title.
Like yeah, very support you see with that.
And it's very like very like noble things, you know.
for the UFC doing for him with all his mental problem.
So yeah, I support it.
Alex, I wasn't sure where you were going with that answer.
If you would have seen me on camera while you were saying that,
I was laughing because I don't know if you're being...
Why are you laughing?
Like, took a serious.
You can't laugh about people who have a mental illness.
No, I'm not laughing at people with mental illness,
but I'm not sure if you're making a joke or not.
No, of course, no.
You think that they're giving him a title shot because he has a
mental illness?
Yeah,
you,
like,
it will be like
first,
like,
UFC shows,
you know,
they send a powerful message.
Mental illness
doesn't have to stop
anyone from becoming a world champion,
you know?
So it's,
this is,
yeah,
it's,
it's very admirable
for UFC.
So,
yeah.
Okay.
And I'm very proud for
America,
then they should have
this,
kind of
heavyweight
have a chance
to be a champion
of the world
you know
America will be
very proud
of the guy
with
a kind of
problems
to be a champion
so yeah
very supportive
like
yeah
inspirational
it's a nice
yeah
yeah it's very
like
I can do it
like later
he can
he can try first
like I'm here
for like
almost 10 year
on UFC
he
he just needs a chance right now.
I don't think if he will have a few fights,
he lose forever for somebody,
he will took it back,
but right now it's time for him.
So, yeah, like,
I don't think he will have any other opportunity for that.
So he's been here for a year.
You've had 20 fights.
You're about to have your 20th fight, 10 years.
It doesn't make you mad at all that he's getting a pedal shot.
We should make this discount for him.
In what way?
Like to make for him a little, you know, like, we should like, it should be a little bit easy for him,
but because it's honestly hard for him to be, to be right now in the place he had.
So I were respect with all this reason he has.
he on his place, you know, like, yeah, I could, I could let him go forward, so no problem.
Okay, who do you think wins that fight, Alexander?
I don't know. Josh Hogan could win.
And if he win, and in case I will win my fight, because my fight, next fight,
and my next opponent is very tough, honestly.
He's the Guestanian guy.
very good in all skills.
So it's a big challenge for me.
So if I will win and if he will win, yeah, I just kick off his hand from his shoulder and
doesn't matter if he has something mental problem or not, I will do this.
So for me, if Hockey to win will be the best way, American versus Russian.
Or if Ghana win, it will be like good trilogy.
So anyway, I will be in a plus, so I'm no worried about it.
Have you been told if you win this fight in Abu Dhabi, you'll get a title shot?
You know, all these things do my manager.
I can feel this.
Of course, you see right now, want me to finish guys, you know, like faster to knock him out.
and they're a little bit disappointed with my two last shows,
but look, they give me guys who on the win streak,
like they give me young guys who on the winstring and looking for title,
boss time.
And now the same, they give me like a very hard opponent to winning.
They give to again, a guy who never fought in heavy division.
Now they give him a guy with some problem as I say, like who just, I don't sure is he ready for title show for the five-round fight.
Right.
I don't know if he had any five-round fight in his career at all.
So I don't know.
like I hope it should be.
Can I ask, on the Instagram post, when they announced this,
you posted like the laughing emojis right over there.
Yeah, I was happy.
You were happy for Josh because he has some issues,
so you thought it was a nice gesture.
Yeah, of course.
Why do you think he has a mental illness?
What about him makes you think this?
Yeah, because he act like this, no?
Like he do some things.
like normal people didn't do.
Like, I don't know, in my mentality, in place when I grow up,
we call it mental illness.
I don't know.
I don't know how you call it.
It's not about entertainment.
I know people take fun about it, but it's serious.
Okay, okay.
So you're not making a joke.
You're being serious.
Of course.
Okay, okay.
Who do you consider the best heavyweight in the world, Alexander?
Right now?
Yeah.
I think Francis Gano's gun still unbeatable.
I think Francis Gano is one of the best.
I know he's a hard person to have a deal with,
but this guy still unbeatable.
And Thomas Pinald as well, I think he's a true champion.
Do you feel bad for Tom?
What happened to him?
Yeah, I feel a little bit better about him because he kind of ruined his career.
It looked so different before the fight with the game.
He was in so good win streak and so good position.
So, yeah, like if I was on his place, I was a little bit frustrated.
So, but this is, I have my own career.
I have my own, like, goals.
So it's happened.
So they open opportunity for me.
Just give it to me.
I saw an interview with Cyril.
He said that he thinks that Tom is mentally fragile,
that he doesn't deal with the eye pokes well,
that he was looking for a way out, all these things.
Do you think that's fair?
Fraggle?
What does it mean?
Like mentally weak.
I can tell the same about gang, honestly.
Why?
Watch his fights with John Jones.
He just, he just, uh, give up before the fight.
Like, and I feel the same with, in fight with me.
When I started pushing him, he, I didn't feel, you know,
something like he he tell he telling this doing dirty things you know he put his
finger in the iron opponent and telling oh this guy is mentally weak because I
I'll I'll I'll poke him and he say he don't want to fight you you cheat like is
It's not a rule.
This is not like a thing we could do.
You know, I am from karate.
And I did karate all my childhood, and I still doing this.
I have very strong fingers to put in an ice.
Like, it's one of weapons of karate people have.
So I can do every fight.
It's just not legal.
So I don't know.
What he's telling this, doing, if he didn't do this, if he just punched him hard or like do something, he can tell this.
But he just make a situation that champion should do surgery and now can fight.
Then another fight with Pereira, he just started punching his back of the head.
Like every fight he does this.
Like I can tell he will do it by purpose,
but he still do it and he has like kind of
nothing apologized about this.
Just think it's okay.
I know you have to go in a second
because you have training coming up,
but I just wanted to ask you one last thing, Alexander.
This is so much fun.
I can't believe it took us so long to speak to you.
I feel even worse now.
We have to have you on more often.
You're incredible, Alexander.
This is one of my favorite interviews.
You're amazing.
What's up with Patty Pimbleau stealing your hairstyle?
Not cool, right?
That was your style.
And now it seems like he's trying to take it to another level.
You did it first, right?
No, I think Paddy did it first.
And yeah, I'm just, first time in my life,
try to grow up my hair and did this brace.
Yeah, right now I cut it.
So I will be a normal hair next fight.
But yeah, it was fun.
I didn't understand and recognize it happens when I did this
because I did it for very first time.
But when it starts, it was a very good meme for both of us.
So it's fun.
You like the memes.
I saw the other one where you put your hand on Waldo's shoulders.
You did that meme.
This one.
Oh, yeah.
It wasn't for a purpose, honestly.
It just happened.
It just happened.
I love it. I love it.
And what do you think happens?
Kuneev, Volkov, October 24th, Tel-Sely.
I feel like you need an emphatic win, Alexander.
Let everyone know who you are, who Drago is.
Get that title shot once and for all.
Get some respect.
Make them, make it up to you.
what are we thinking on October 24th
UFC 333
I will try
I'm training hard
like I'm training very hard
I'm trying to
train overall
I know this guy will try to
like pressure me
clinching me maybe take me down
as usual
everybody try to do
I'm not sure
he will be good enough
in the striking skills
to work with me
on the
on the kickboxing
but he'll
maybe start with it. I should knock him out or submit him.
I am very, my purpose to finish this fight earlier.
But we'll see what's happened.
This guy is very tough, I told before.
I trained with him before when Anka Lyev was in our gym
because Kuniv also from Anka Lyev team.
So I know very good his coaches for a very long time.
I was very young and I know,
his coaches from this this period like it's very like old and historical the gestanian school
and all these guys and they everybody know me very good as well so yeah it'll be a hard fight but
i were looking for finish one very quick last thing i promise were you disappointed you
didn't get the call to go on the msg card or did you understand given what you said earlier
about josh was there any part of you that thought maybe i would get the call and they would
move me to fight gun or was that not something you were thinking of?
Of course, I'm thought about it, but as I told you before, I'm not a guy who involved in
matchmaking in the UFC.
I don't know, I don't know.
Like, I can just, you know, have some opinion why they do this.
Yeah, and as I see, I told you a reason why they put hockey.
No, I know, I know.
So this is a great reason.
So yeah.
Oh, and what did you think of Gable?
Yeah, this was like tremendous loss.
He was absolutely a favorite on the paper before this fight.
Yeah, and this guy Sharab, he trained with us as well a little bit.
And he didn't look so good as he compete.
this fight.
So, yeah,
big respect for this fight and now he
he headed.
Respect to Sharaf.
And I just
can say good luck to
Gable. It's just
like fighting career,
he
come back and get better. We'll see
if he can do this. Because he's
he is Olympic champion, yes?
Yes. Yes.
Yeah. So, yeah, he
He has a fighting spirit for sure.
To be Olympic champion of wrestling, it's very hard.
I think he comes back, like, it could be like, you know,
kind of not a lucky punch.
It's for sure was like a good plan to just attack him the first.
But maybe he came back to make some, like, you know, work on it
and come back stronger.
So, yeah, I think he will be very fast in top ranking.
Massive respect for you, Alexander.
Thank you so much for the time.
Appreciate it.
Good luck, October 24th.
I feel great things are coming your way,
and it's so nice to connect with you finally.
All the best to you, and thank you for doing this before training.
Thank you so much, I appreciate it.
Thank you for calling me here.
Thank you.
Thank you.
Dago, Alexander Volkov.
What a guy.
You know, I have to give props to G.C.
He's been talking all morning about Alexander Volkov's debut on the program,
and dare I say, he exceeded expectations.
I had high expectations through the ceiling.
We're at lunch.
I was like, I can't wait for Volkov today.
Everyone's like, yeah, man, I guess.
And I was just like, y'all see soon.
He exceeded it and then some.
I think he is my interim heavyweight champion in terms of like, you know,
we all love Tom around the program.
But while he's out, Volkov is my king.
There I say, the uncrowned interim heavyweight champion.
You can't love this guy anymore.
I didn't know where he was going with the Hokka thing.
Didn't break a smile.
At the very end.
You could kind of see it like pursing through just a little bit.
Holy smokes.
I did not expect that.
I got to remember this for promo of the year when awards come around.
That was great.
I did not expect that.
That was fun as hell.
And look, he gets a big win.
He's right there.
If he gets an emphatic win, if we learn one thing from Armand this past weekend,
it's not so much how you win.
Excuse me, it's not so much winning.
It's how you win.
If he could get something emphatic on October 24th, UFC 33, Abu Dhabi,
he's right there.
Now, I would never suggest that he would leapfrog Tom.
Obviously, he has a history with Tom and Tom is the guy to be fighting for the belt next.
But if that takes a little bit longer, the UFC decides to do.
Who knows?
Put yourself in that position.
So let's see.
Speaking of Gable Steven, yesterday on the program, we talked about he has yet to say anything.
Well, last night, he finally posted a statement.
And so let's read the statement.
Let's react to the statement.
This is it.
This statement is for my family, my friends.
my fans and the people who truly know me,
and know the kind of man that I am.
I know there are people who will never support me,
no matter what I say or do,
that's their choice.
But I'm speaking to the people who know me,
not just as an athlete,
but as a husband and a father to a young daughter.
Prior to, and during Fight Week,
an incident from my college years
was brought up by my opponent.
I believe it was raised to get in my head,
but it also reopened something
that had been addressed years ago.
I want to be clear,
I did not do anything alleged. That's in red. I was never charged with a crime and the matter was
ultimately dropped by the district attorney. The allegations were not ignored, nor brushed aside.
They were thoroughly and heavily reviewed as I fully cooperated with the law enforcement,
including a separate Title IX review. There were no criminal charges, no conviction,
and no finding of responsibility against me. The matter was closed and there is no pending legal issue
involving me. My own attorney did their own investigation and stated on the record that even if the
law was changed, I would have the same outcome, which now speaks for itself. I understand how serious
allegations like this are, and I understand that people may have questions when they hear only
part of a story. Moving forward, I'm going to keep focusing on my wife, my daughter, my family, and the
work in front of me. To the people who support me, thank you. I know who I am. My family knows who I am.
The people who have walked with me through life know who I am. That's what matters to me, and that's where I'm
keep my focus. As for my opponent, this is in red, congratulations, you caught me. A mistake on my
end was made. It was your night. Just like my wrestling days after my loss, I came back with an undeniable
will to win and focus that led to me being the top of my sport. The result of Saturday night,
I believe, will catapult me to do the same. I will be great and this won't deny me. So that is
the statement from Gable. When I read that, all, first of all, it's great that he spoke.
in some way, shape or form, this was his first comment after the loss.
I have a few thoughts.
I'm happy that he congratulated Sean.
I always think that in these moments, it's nice to say your opponent by their name,
but, you know, that's, I guess, nitpicking.
The you caught me is whatever.
But he says congratulations.
He says a mistake was made on my end.
He doesn't offer any excuses.
It's fine.
It's totally fine.
what I thought was a little bit weird.
I want to talk to you guys about this was the first essentially one, two, three, four, five
paragraphs of a six paragraph statement was on the allegations, the incident, the arrest of 2019.
Something that, as he said, you know, happened seven years ago and all this stuff.
Why did he start with that?
I would have started with the fight.
The fight is the thing that you're breaking your silence on.
You've already had to address this in the past, and maybe not to the MMA community.
But to me, this was an indication that this really did get under his skin.
It really did bother him.
It really did affect him.
And, you know, he feels the need.
Now, I don't have any issue with him feeling the need.
I think that's a good thing.
You should, if you're being, you know, called out, if you're being asked questions, you should.
But to me, to start with it, only furthered the point that,
this was really bothering you.
It wasn't something that happened a week ago.
It wasn't something that happened earlier this year or even last year.
It was seven years ago.
And so you kind of buried the loss.
Now, the allegation is way more important than any sporting loss.
But I just found that to be a little bit interesting.
The line that he's getting killed for is that his own attorney did their own investigation
and stated on the record that even if the law was changed, she's talking about that loophole that,
people are calling it a loophole, but it's really just a change.
in the law. It was a law that was in place in the state of Minnesota, which said that if a
victim of a sexual assault incident was willingly intoxicated, i.e. drank on their own and wasn't
drugged or anything like that. It makes it harder to, you know, charge and convict. That law has
since been changed. It doesn't matter if it's willingly or not. Now, he's saying my own attorney
did their own investigation, and they say, even, and he writes, even if the law was changed,
I would have had the same outcome, which now speaks for itself. And that's, you know, that's being
mocked because it's like, of course your own attorney is going to say that. That's essentially
their job. It is to defend you and say like, yeah, we're all good here. So, you know, it would
have been a little bit more powerful if you would have said the district attorney determined that
even if this law was changed, nothing would have happened. I wouldn't have been charged,
ultimately convicted, et cetera. So that's, that. So that was.
line not the best and it's certainly opening him up to criticism. Rick, what do you think? What do you
think of this statement coming out with this and focusing so much on the 2019 arrest and then one
quick paragraph on the fight itself? I don't have a huge issue with it because I imagine what's
entering his headspace and that of his family and anybody. I can imagine that there's people
reaching out to people in his life and saying all kinds of things, I imagine that that's the
thing that's taking up the most headspace. And even if it is an acknowledgement that like this
bothered me, I can understand why that the noise is the loudest on that, right?
So I just want to be clear. I don't think the amount of like real estate given to that is an issue.
I just would have said Saturday was a tough night. I lost. Now, as for everything that was said
about me leading up, boom, boom, boom, boom. I don't know. There was just to me like the,
order of things was a little bit weird. Again, I'm kind of nitpicking here. I think the biggest
issue is the own attorney line, but ultimately it is what it is. I don't know, I don't know how
much more there is to say about this. He's kind of in a damned if he does, damned if he doesn't
situation right now. My first instinct on it, I read it. I thought it was pretty thorough, right?
Too little too late was my feeling on this, right? To the point that you're making about the order,
I don't have as much of an issue with the order.
The order, he already blew that.
He already made a mistake in the order.
The order was, as soon as this was coming up,
as soon as Sean Sheriff started talking about this,
as soon as the noise was happening,
you make a first statement about this.
He wanted it to go away.
He wanted it to go away and didn't deny it,
didn't say anything about it.
Now it's coupled with the loss, right?
If that happens, if midweek, last week,
when all this is blowing up,
He comes out with this statement.
Then he loses and comes out with another statement about losing.
There's no confusion, right?
It's all clean.
It's all clear.
It's addressing exactly what's going on.
But he never did that.
And my honest feeling is like, I don't think this changes the tide of anything.
People have already judged him in the court of public opinion.
And his actions last week, I think, put people even firmer into the camps that they believe.
But he still had to say something, right?
Yes.
But I think too little too late.
I think it.
Look.
But did you really.
expect him like Sean Sharaff writes on
Instagram like you should be talking to me the Marine not the rapist and then he
says the the the the the
by the end of that press conference is to hope that this goes away by the
by the end of the press conference the noise was too loud yeah the noise was
way too loud we could all feel it it was palpable this was not something that was
flying under the radar anymore this was not something that was not being addressed by
the end of the press conference I think everybody collectively felt that this
this was something that was becoming more than just an Instagram comment.
And that probably would have been the time.
And not for nothing, he had a microphone in his face multiple times and had an opportunity
to do that.
And I'm not trying to like make this a, you know, pour dirt on Gable Stevens and more and more
than he already is having that done.
But if you're asking my objective opinion, I just feel that there, the PR damage
has already been done and he didn't do enough to turn that tide.
And now it's a little bit too little too late.
The fact that he addressed it at all, I think is at least something.
to your point, right?
Like he at least had the sense to now at least acknowledge it head on.
And as I said, I can only imagine what people in his life, right?
The people closest to him are getting in terms of abuse from this as well.
It makes sense that he'd want to at least say, hey, like, I'm hearing this.
Here's the situation.
But this could have happened last week, in my opinion.
Do you see?
Yeah, I guess I just don't know what it changes other than him just.
acknowledging the matter.
I don't think this will change anyone's opinion on him.
But he still had to do it.
Yeah.
Sure.
No?
I guess.
Like, it's just, it's an Instagram post with the comments off.
I just like, it's just like a, yep, this happened.
I didn't do it.
I lost the fight.
Could you imagine if he didn't say anything?
Are people going to view them that much worse?
They already view them terribly right now.
But this is the first time since this all kicked off that he said,
I did not do it.
And that I think is significant, right?
like the multiple times last week
where he truly is innocent
you would expect someone
who is innocent to defend themselves
and not let this victory
parade just sort of dance on his grave
Also to your point about like it getting in his head
it clearly got in his head
it's affecting him in his life to this day for sure
I mean it's only been four days since it happened
and you have to wonder how much it's going to affect him
moving forward in his career
And I'm sure there are people watching this
that are going to be like oh you're talking about how it affected him
as if we're trying to make him into a sympathetic character and all these things without recognizing.
There's no endorsement of Gable Stevenson's actions.
There's no endorsement of anything happening here.
We're just talking about the situation as it is.
And this statement is the latest that we have in terms of this situation.
Yeah.
I mean, I'm seeing the same types of tweets online.
It doesn't seem like anyone's buying it or sympathetic.
Yeah.
Or like they're double down even.
Well, they're carving it up.
They're looking at that line.
about like my own attorney said nothing would have changed and all that stuff.
That's sort of what I'm saying with like, I just don't know what it's going to change with
people's opinions on him.
I don't feel like he had to do something.
Yeah, 100%.
And I don't know enough about what that independent study that he commissioned was.
I'm not aware of the details of that.
But that isn't nothing, right?
That isn't nothing.
If anybody wants to make that into nothing, they're not really like being genuine with what
he's trying to express there, which is that the legal process played out and then he spent his
money to further investigate this. Now, granted, if anybody's pointing to it and going like,
because it's your money, it could be biased. That's absolutely valid. But there's still intention
behind it to spend his own money to verify that what he believes to be true is true based on that.
And so I get why somebody would pick it apart, but there's also no obligation from him to do that.
There's actually no, like, the legal process played out, the way the legal process paid out.
He didn't have to do that.
That was something that he decided, I want to make sure that I'm in the right here.
And so, you know, he's going to, look, he's under it right now.
And he's the, you know, he's the punching bag for everybody right now.
And I'm wondering how this is all going to play out.
But I think a statement had to be made.
And one that's definitively said, I did not do this because I think he missed that last week.
Yeah.
No, I mean, that is certainly a fair point.
I did not expect him to go this route.
And I think he probably thought, I win.
I knocked this dude out and this will go away.
Yeah.
And so why try to feed into it?
The worst possible thing happened.
He got embarrassed in almost record breaking time.
He became, you know, a laughing stock.
And it just made it all that much worse.
I think
If he would have knocked this guy out
What are we talking about today?
We would have had to at least think of all being lumped in together
Now it's being all lumped in together
Absolutely right
I think he was probably betting on
Let me knock this dude out real quick
Let me shove it down his throat
And it's on to the next
You know that's what he was thinking
That's how he was speaking before the fight
We would have had to acknowledge it
But it wouldn't have been this
100%.
well there you have it there's the the gable steveson statement do you guys think he comes back in the next six months
probably do you think there's a world where they say hey go get some wins in LFA go get some wins
like out of the spotlight is that that I feel like that's I feel like that would be even more of a spotlight
an admission of like yo go down to the miners see what you can do there and God forbid he gets caught in the
minors yeah in LFA then it's just the whole
It's over.
It's over from that.
Totally agree.
That feels like a bigger...
It is a cautionary tale.
Like, you cannot rush these things.
You just can't.
You know, like, he was not ready for all of this.
He just wasn't.
And again, it was the wrong guy.
We talked about this yesterday.
He was desperate, all that stuff.
But he just, he was too, he's too raw.
He's too raw as a fighter.
He doesn't know how to strike.
And he's got John Jones out there teaching him all this stuff,
and he's just not ready for it.
But yeah, what do you think, G.
Six months?
Do you think we see him back?
I think, I think the,
longer away, the better
for us. Really? Yeah. What are we going to do? Clear it away
by beating a three and two heavyweight?
Yeah. That's not going to change anyone's opinion on it. Just
let's leaving dogs lie. You know what's the craziest thing about this? The
craziest thing about this is it's not like it's Moses Satama against Philip
Hergovich and it's like, you know what? Hergovich is a solid veteran. He deserves
this. This was a guy who was probably going to get cut if he lost. It would have been
0.3. It's why you never do that. You shouldn't have done this. It's why you should have just
gone in there with a legitimate opponent. This is the worst.
case scenario. I don't agree with G.C. for the simple fact that the longer you're out,
the last memory that you have of Gable Stephson is that knockout and is that press conference.
That's what you've got to remember Gable Stevenson, the longer you wait. The longer you wait,
the longer that has time to plant its roots. Get back in there, get a win, start the process
of trying to make people forget about it. And the longer you delay it, the longer they have to just
make that something more.
fascinating. What a story. What a, what a, what a, what a, what a, what a, what a, what a, what a, what a, what a, what a, what a, what a, what a, what a, what a, what a, what a, what a lot ago, uh, you know, where we're talking about him being the future. It feels like now his, his, his whole fighting career is on, uh, very much thin ice. Um, all right, some other things to get into, uh, before we get to our next guest. And that's you all Romero, who's going to be headlining BKFC 94 this weekend, uh, I would say the most interesting, uh, I would say the most interesting.
fight of the combat sports
slate coming up. There was a
contender series show yesterday
and that continues to be a highlight
for the UFC. The fights are great,
entertaining, tremendous knockouts,
finishes, all that stuff and more. They continue
to sign people. In case you're wondering,
Dana White was asked about the
Gable Steven loss again. He was asked
about it on Saturday. Here's
what he had to say.
Gable today posted like he's going to be
back better than ever, it's lit a fire in him.
Did you guys have much discussion
about him and his future.
Obviously, the future seems so bright.
Now people are trying to say, like, you know,
did he get rushed to the UFC?
Is there still a future?
So at matchmaking today, did you talk much about the future?
No, he lost.
I mean, people lose.
It happens.
You know, he was a huge favorite, and he lost.
It's not like we'd come back on Tuesday and go,
oh, that's the end of him.
You know what I mean?
People lose.
It happens.
And if he believes that he's going to come back and then he will.
All right, so a very measured, not too dramatic response from Dana White.
On the loss, here's what he had to say about the fan reaction to Gable.
What did you make of the reception that he got all week?
Because it was pretty chilly there in L.A.
And then obviously the controversy with him walking out of the cage early and stuff like that.
Yeah, I don't think anything about it.
I mean, it happens.
There's our fans, man, they know who they like and who they don't.
and, you know, our fans are so educated.
It's like if a guy on the first prelim of the night doesn't make weight,
when he comes out for the ceremonial, they start booing them and, you know,
the fans are dialed in and that shit, man.
They know what they like and what they don't.
No real issue with that.
I mean, I guess you could say, like, why is the UFC signing people with this history?
But as we've talked about before, they're signing them in the past,
they're signing them while things are happening on under their watch when they're on their
roster like, you know, they're not going to stop.
And Gable was a massive deal.
I mean, there were talks of him fighting on the Netflix card.
I don't begrudge them for signing him.
And I don't think that any sort of reaction negative, supremely negative, whatever you want to say
it was, is going to change their mind on him.
If he continues to lose like this, they may change their mind.
but they've been prone to give, you know, guys who they're high on many, many opportunities.
I mentioned to Alexander Volkov, a surreal guy in interview that he did that I think came out either
yesterday or this morning in France. It's a very long interview, but he does speak about Tom,
and the interview was clearly done after the announcement that he is the heavyweight champion,
he's going to be fighting at Madison Square Garden. I wanted to play this part, and it's in
French, but I'll translate it for you. And I'm not doing it on the fly, by the way.
There are subtitles, but I was able to hear it and it is accurate.
When he says that Tom Aspinall is mentally fragile,
and he takes some shots at the man who he fought last October in Abu Dhabi.
Let's play it, and I'll translate on the fly.
Here it is.
Tom Aspinall, he says, was seen as a monster, a real freak of nature.
But when you look at the numbers, it's a different story, you know.
There are a lot of things like that where even mentally,
we knew he was a little mentally fragile, he says.
Yes, we picked up on it.
The way he celebrated after fights.
His body language a bit, the host says.
Yeah, his body language, Cyril says, how he communicated and so on.
We suspected he was a little fragile.
Well, fragile is a strong word, Cyril continues, but he was, you know.
A little shaky, the host says yes.
And in the end, sure enough, everything that happened after our fight
confirms that the guy complains quite a bit.
Brother, you got poked in the eyes,
Israel says, you have the right to stop.
That's your right.
Nobody knows how you experience that pain.
You don't need to do everything that you did
in terms of the public statements
because it worked against them in the end.
Honestly, I was thinking, from my feeling,
when my finger went into his eye,
when my finger went to his eye,
it wasn't that forceful at all.
It looked forceful, but it didn't feel forceful to me.
My hand was really there because I wanted to stay on my feet.
You know, they tell you, keep your hands up like this, pointing to the sky,
not pointing towards the fighter, pointing up.
Keep your hands like this.
My hands were really like this, you know.
So the impact on the eyes to me isn't strong.
When it's like this, because my palm is against your face,
it's like you take those direct eye pokes,
which is what happened to me actually against Derek Lewis when I won the belt.
I saw a double for three or four minutes.
He poked me in the eye.
And my vision, it hadn't recovered, and I kept fighting like that.
I didn't complain about it.
These things happened.
You know what I mean?
But with him, I feel like the finger, it wasn't, you know, it wasn't that forceful.
And I thought the fight would resume.
Then I thought, okay, it's not resuming.
I thought, well, we'll probably run that fight back soon.
And it didn't happen.
So some strong words there.
He's saying he looked for a way out.
He's saying that he was a quitter.
He's saying that he's weak, that he's mentally fragile.
He said that.
He used that word.
So not shying away from all of that and only confirming that if he does win,
against Josh Hokit on November 14th.
That fight is going to be massive.
That fight is going to be massive.
That rematch is going to be massive.
I mean, there was already no love loss between them.
But that fight is going to be huge.
Anyone have a problem with Surreal Gunn saying that Tom Aspinall is mentally fragile?
I don't have a problem with it because it's the fight game, but I think it's bullshit.
Like, I just think it's very obvious that he's done some long-term damage to Tom's vision
to the point that the guy doesn't have a time.
timeline to return.
What does that have to do with mental?
Like he blinded him to the point
that he can't fight anymore. It's
nothing to do with mental. Two surgeries
on the left eye, one on the right.
If you say this in the week
following the fight, you'd be like, come on, man.
But now that we know how this story played out,
vacating the title, multiple surgeries,
may need a fourth in total.
Like, you did it.
Where's the mental fragility?
Like a minute of foul.
Multiple.
I just don't.
I just don't understand.
Like, he fouled the guy and poked his eyes out, requiring surgery.
And I love the just, like, it didn't feel that forceful to me, man.
Yeah.
Just didn't really feel it as my knuckles entered his eye socket.
I don't know.
He's a bitch.
I don't know what he's doing.
Hey, he's soft.
He's weird.
Meanwhile, I would imagine, as soon as Tom Aspinall is cleared to fight, he will accept a rematch
with Cyril gone.
Oh, 100%.
100%.
Yeah.
I disagree with it, but I don't have a huge problem with it.
Yeah, I mean, we've heard fighters say much more egregious things.
And it makes the fight bigger.
He does have, like, heelish tendencies, right?
Because he's, like, a little bit smug about it all, and he's calling this guy weak who he, like, double eye poked.
And now he's the champion.
He's benefiting from all of this.
It's a smart move to play to become the heel, because if he beats Hoke it, to your point, that rematch is going to be gigantic.
We just saw Josh Van successfully play the heel of just like, bro, I beat his ass the first fight.
Stop calling it accidental.
I beat him once and I'm going to do it again.
Is Josh Hokka
gonna get like a Hulk Hogan-esque pop
at Madison Square Garden
when he walks out
to fight's a real guy?
Yeah.
He's gonna walk out
with the American flag,
bandana,
and they're gonna freaking eat him up.
Oh yeah.
It's gonna go crazy.
He's gonna have a good week,
for sure.
All that.
Yeah, he has crazy.
I can't believe we're here.
You know?
Oh yeah.
Josh Hogan is headlining
Madison Square Garden.
It's an inspirational story,
you know?
Just ask a...
It's actually really nice that they did this.
Just ask for him.
Is he essentially saying Josh Hockett's like,
like a, like a token,
like one of those,
like, you know,
Let's do this.
No, you can achieve anything.
That's essentially what Volkov was saying.
The fact that you asked him about the commenting on the title announcement and it was the laughing emojis and he's like, I was happy, man.
I saw him see Josh Hokka get that.
That was a hell of a debut by Volkov.
Oh my God.
In case you're wondering, right now Josh Hokit is ranked sixth in the meta-UFC rankings.
He's currently ranked, they switch over.
Yeah, they're not lined up.
It's a problem.
He's ranked fourth in the media rankings.
What does Dana White think about having now two ranking systems?
He was asked yesterday by the media.
Do you plan to keep both or is the plan long term to keep both?
Do you know?
Yeah.
So far so good.
I'm cool with both.
Is it so far so good?
Because he didn't finish off those rankings where you mentioned Josh Ok at his rank six, the meta rankings.
Heavyweight, zero gone champ, Tom Aspinall won, Sergey Pavlovich 2.
Oh and 1 in the division
just got finished by Zero Gone
Alex Pereira coming in at three
No heavyweight wins on his record
And I'm not sure what happened
This past weekend but Alexander Volkov
Who just sat on the program
Drop two spots to four
Well by the way
I should have mentioned that it was his
It's his birthday coming up
He's actually fighting on his birthday
Shout out to Alexander Volkov
We love him
It's working
I just love the apathy
Yeah
I'm good with him
Let's be honest
Meta paid for a sponsor
to use like their algorithm.
What is the new thing called?
There's a new thing that I keep seeing.
The AI agent, yeah, Muses.
Here's what I'd love to ask, Dana.
If you were so against the media rankings,
why did you keep them?
Like, why did you do this thing with meta?
Just have one ranking system.
Why are you keeping both?
That's my second question.
My first question is you were touting
that the rankings were about to be saved.
Yeah.
He had the solution.
This is coming and we're going to get rid of it.
What solution?
It's just the same shit.
Just made it more complicated.
This AI shit we got planned is going to save everything.
It's algorithm.
It's not a, yeah.
Just, just, what does it even mean?
There's a formula.
It's not, it's not AI generated.
Are you sure about that?
Are you sure about that?
How?
Isn't an algorithm?
Who's crunching the numbers on the algorithm?
They have an algorithm that they've developed
that accounts for all these things and it spits out these numbers.
How it gets Alex Pereira as a ranked heavyweight when he has no heavyweight wins,
I am unsure of.
I don't know what that algorithm entails.
But it is not AI.
Well, don't forget as well.
The chat cheap, BT? What is it?
Avaland Druska number eight, Pat Sabatini number seven.
Be bent folks are the whole article from crown.com about how it's an algorithm.
No, I understand that, but to me, algorithm is something that feeds you.
That's how I understand algorithm, no?
Anyway, guys, we do have some breaking news.
October 23rd, so the night before UFC 33rd,
R.EF is going to Las Vegas, and the headliner is Dylan Danis.
against Armant-Sir-Rukin, but they just announced this match.
Hamza Shemayev against Robbie Lawler?
What?
There's some wacky matches happening.
Is REF moving further and further away from the wrestling stuff?
And they're just, like, on this card, I think, is also the MVP Sharra bullet match, right?
I think that's coming up.
If it's not this card, it's another card.
That's a weird one, is it not?
Like, if I'm going to see Robbie Lawler compete, I don't know if it's in a wrestling match
against Hamzad Shamaev,
but maybe it's just good to see him competing again.
Happy he's getting the paycheck.
Don't get me wrong.
I just don't, like, if I'm going to see Hamzad,
I don't want to see him against a luller, a woodly type.
I want to see Hamzat against Jordan Burroughs isn't the right name because he's too small,
but against guys like that.
The way you use a Hamzad and Armin is, and an Islam,
let me see them against the best of wrestling.
I don't want to see them against older MMA fighters.
or retired MMA fighters, what's the intrigue in that?
Well, I mean, do you want to see Armistarokian against Dylan Dennis?
Okay, there's a little more, but no.
I want to see the Kyle Dakes of the world against these guys.
I want to see the Jordan Burroughs of the world against these guys.
The Kennedy Blades is of the world against wrestling.
You know what I mean?
Like, okay, MMA fighters.
I want to, if you're going to give me the best of MMA grapplers,
I want to see them against the best grapplers.
That's the way to do this.
And then you'll have the other matchups where it's, you know,
MMA guy versus MMA guy.
That's fine.
Colby versus Bilal type of stuff.
That's fine.
But I want to see just how good these guys are.
And can the pure grapplers beat these guys?
And then we could sort of gauge just how great the MMA grapplers are.
Do you know what I mean?
This to me feels like...
I do, but I feel like the amateur wrestlers will beat the MMA grapplers pretty...
Always?
Yeah.
The best of the best?
I'm not talking about the Wachian Buckley's.
I'm talking about like the dudes that we consider the best MMA grapplers.
I mean, not for nothing.
Islam, Hamza.
You even see what Henry.
Suhudo's able to do to Marab, like, there's levels to this game.
Marab beat him.
Until he got pinned the very next time easily.
They're 1-1-1.
Yeah.
One-one you need the guards rush.
I think that they're using the MMA fighters versus the MMA fighters as name recognition
to draw people in because there's, what, 10 matches on this card and three of them
have MMA fighters.
It's MVP versus Alexander Schlamenco.
Oh, right.
Yeah, they already did the...
Did they do the Sharper bullet?
Or is that...
That was an M.
No, no, he matched up against someone else.
Yeah, Jordan Burroughs on this card
Like, it feels like they
They still have the wrestlers on there
But this is what they're using people to draw on
Because it's always like main and co-main for these big names
Right
Like I think you can do a Burroughs versus a GSP and Islam whatever
But I don't think that goes well
And then you can't do it twice
We also, we gotta get Islam and GSP over there
Really like the only like crazy high level guys
That you want to see against people is
Armin, Hamza
Homsai, Holby
Yeah
I don't know
I mean, are you guys in
to this?
With this specific matchup?
Yeah.
With Dennis?
No, no.
Robbie Loller against Hamsza.
Oh, the Robbie Loller Hamza.
Yeah, I mean,
it was like it'll go to the same way as Tyrone Woodley.
Yeah.
Yeah.
And Woodley, a much more decorated.
Robbie's background all the way back in the day was in wrestling, but certainly not
known for that towards the latter portion of his career and he's been retired for a
couple of years now.
All right.
Let us talk about BKFC.
BKFC.
BKFC.
This Saturday, Aorina in Manchester, and what a main event, a fight that we have, in fact,
been talking about for quite some time, but never really thought it was going to happen.
And certainly not in the world of bare-knuckle fighting, but it is going down BKFC 94, September 26th.
That's this Saturday.
It's a grudge match in Manchester.
It's Darren Till against the soldier of God himself, Joel Romero, the one and only, kind enough to join us.
The ageless wonder himself.
My friend, how are you? Shalom.
Shalom!
It's good to see you. Where are you right now? Are you in Manchester?
Yeah, I stay here. Manchester is like three days ago.
I stay here with my people, with my team.
I am ready to go.
How do you like Manchester?
How do you like Manchester?
The weather is so good.
The weather is fantastic.
And I know
He hasn't been able to go out and explore
But it's a beautiful, very fruitful town.
But it's a beautiful, very fruitful town.
But it's not like Miami, right?
It's not as beautiful as Miami.
No.
Well, tell you that I've been to know.
He hasn't seen anything yet, but, you know,
he doesn't know.
He's not sure.
Okay.
This is a very fun fight, Yuel, and it's one that we've been talking about for a while.
Was it presented to you?
How did it come about?
And when you found out about it, what was your initial reaction?
It's a good when you're listening to the battle, how you felt emotionally?
I'm emotionally, I'm
emotionally, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, so simply
he's taking as the, the
the, the, is the, the, the, is the
the commencing of the final.
He didn't have any emotional feelings towards it.
He, uh, he just feels like this is a beginning of a new era for him.
So, so you were into it, you were excited about it, you were interested when they
presented it.
it to you.
I'm going to get.
I'm very
very happy
for the fight.
He's excited.
Ready to put on a show.
I'm very
very excited.
I'm going to say,
as the,
as the,
as the,
I'm,
I'm,
I'm going to
see,
like a
four years of my
career,
and then
he's the
beginning of
the final,
and then
to start with
Dan and Till,
is being
emotional.
Starting off
with Darren Till,
He's treating this like if it was an Olympic cycle.
His last four years of competition,
he's very emotional in that sense.
He's excited.
He's waited to start this off,
and he's glad it's with an opponent like Darren too.
The plan is still to retire at 52, right?
Yeah.
How is the body feeling?
How does the body feeling?
Wow.
I'm feeling fantastic.
I feel very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very well, very well.
I'm very
I'm very grateful to God how I'm
because, being
sincere,
I'm very surprised
how I'm very surprised.
All glory to God, he feels amazing.
He's actually surprised
on how his body has been reacting
over the years
and that he's very blessed
to still be in this shape
and being able to compete at this high level.
I really believe you're like 36,
35, 36.
I don't believe you're 49.
Is that possible?
That you have 36 years,
that can't say that you have
49 years old.
I'm 49 years old.
It's unbelievable.
Let's see.
Let's see.
How are we looking?
Let's see the abs, Joel.
I'm ready.
I'm ready.
I want to see.
I want to see what's real here.
Oh, my dear.
What is going on?
What is it?
What do you got?
12 abs there?
Oh, wow.
Wow.
That is insane.
That is insane.
How is that possible?
How is possible?
Well,
and I'm very content
that's so because
I'm going to
show you something.
Oh.
He said this is amazing
that...
Okay, okay.
Give him one second.
All right, we're waiting for it.
This
was
for the same...
This is something
that Darren Till asked for.
One of the
One of the requirements for this fight was...
He said that's going to take this fight is with anti-doping.
The only way he was going to take this fight is with anti-doping test.
This is one of the tests of the many that he's taken.
Okay, Smurdle, yes, I know them.
So what does that say?
That says you're all good?
What, he said, that's this, that's all good.
He said if it's not, he wouldn't be fighting.
Sure, that's true.
That's true.
Is that blood and urine they're doing?
What are they doing?
Sangry and urine.
Yep, both blood and urine.
And random, right?
You still got to do, yeah, they're random.
He's still got a few more.
Okay, okay.
I think there's got at least one or two more.
He's got at least one or two more.
You know, these days, people are saying that Darren is,
they're accusing Darren of, you know, doing some stuff.
Have you seen this?
Because his physique is insane.
that these days
the people,
the people
say that
Darren,
that's
taking the
I don't
me don't
me don't
he's like,
I don't know
and I really
don't care.
But have you
seen his
physique lately?
That's he
has seen
the
body of him.
He's not
paying attention
of that.
You don't
see pictures of him.
He doesn't
he,
he doesn't, he
doesn't,
he,
in training
to be
being happy,
content,
because
I respect to all the athletes, but I don't
me preoccupy, I only worry about himself.
He respects the athletes, you know, but at the end of the day,
he doesn't care what other people do and how they look.
How do you feel about Darren?
How do you feel about Darren?
In what way?
In what way.
Well, you know, he talks a lot and he likes to get under his opponent's skin.
Does he get under your skin? Does he bother you? Does he annoy you?
That if he's always to talk much of the opponent.
Well, now, it's that this has been part of my career.
Everyone always always has the
me, all the athletes,
and that's me, no me mollera.
He said, he's got 41 years in this.
He's doesn't really bothers him. He's been dealing with his whole career.
He's dealt with people talking junk and, you know, and, you know,
and he's not worried about that.
He's going to continue to be able to continue to talk in the ring.
He's going to have to continue to talk in the ring.
I mean, I'm just here to do,
he simply not is my enemy.
He's my adversary, he's my opponent.
It's not just his enemy.
He's his adversary, his opponent.
I'm here to work, I'm here to do my job,
and I'm just going to continue my journey after this.
After I'm going to win to him,
I have something more,
I have something more important than Darren Till,
and that is to live for God.
Aside from his fight with Darren Till,
after he beats him,
he's got a bigger journey ahead of him
and something that he befriends himself.
And I think one of the things more
that I have to do is
to know the world
the things that God
that God wants,
that God
he's dedicated his life
to God
and his biggest challenge
ahead of him is to
let the world know
who God is,
who he is and what he's good
what he does for them.
And then I get him
has a comment in the
middle of the ring
for all the humanity.
After he beats Darren
he has a big message
for the world.
What's that message?
You can give us a hint?
What is the message?
What is the message?
What is the message that can give you a
little of the message?
The things that God
wants, but in the humanity,
God,
God,
a message
in the humanity.
It's,
it's a,
it's a,
it's a message from God
to the world.
So you're going to say it in the cage?
Yes, sir.
Okay.
So we'll stay tuned for that.
I asked Darren Till
about you maybe seven or so years ago.
on my old show on ESPN
and I want to play you what he said about you
and then I want to get your reaction to something else
first here's the clip so you can hear it
here it is
I ain't scared of no man on this
planet apart from Yol Romero
but he's gone to Bellator
the little fag
his pants
where you are at your Romero come on
come and get this smoke
so I don't know if you saw that but he said
I'm not scared of any man
except for you
Joel Romero but you left
the Bellator, he said you crapped your pants
and you left, and so he says
where are you at? Do you still think he's scared
of you?
He said, he said, he said,
he said, that you went to
get back the pantalone, and that you had to
get meadow to
the U.S.C.
And what do you think?
I got to mea to those women in the U.S.C.
Yeah, specifically.
Okay.
That he, that's, that
the people asked the players of U.S. if I
got me to me or they, or they got a
He said, ask the UFC fighters he fought and all the other UFC fighters, who was scared of who?
Is he scared of them or they scared of him?
But do you think...
Go ahead.
Okay.
To ask him, what was I scared of in the UFC?
And ask him, who was I scared of in the UFC?
Ententeen.
But I think that in fact that, in reality, to who they were, to me.
In reality, who people were scared of was him, not the other way around.
Oh, yeah.
No, but he's saying you're the only one that he's afraid of,
and I'm wondering if you still feel like he's afraid of you.
He says that he said that he didn't,
he said, no, he didn't even to you.
Oh, that's only to you.
You think that it's true, and that if he's the same is the same, or no?
basically in this part of my
in this moment
now
I'm not
I think if me
any fear
if he's
now I'm
what I think
is that I have
that he's
a caria
like he's
like he's
what he's saying
is that
he's not worried about
that in this stage
of his life
who's scared of him
and who's not
you know
at the end of the day
he's going to fall
like the walls
in Jericho.
I respect that and I like that.
Can I ask about the face off, though?
The face off lasted about four minutes
when you guys faced off a few weeks ago.
What are you thinking while all this is happening
and it's going on and on and on?
Here we did a sped-up version of it.
It didn't stop.
It just kept going.
Four minutes.
How do you feel in this moment?
I was in that moment.
He was only thinking about his Olympic cycle.
That's all he was thinking about in that moment.
He was deep into thought.
He was thinking in his own world.
He was in his own world.
And he's looking at him like, wow, this is the first opponent that I have in front of me in my
front of me in my Olympic cycle, four years.
Did you sense anything from Darren when you were looking at him for that long?
He said, you felt something, being so much.
He didn't feel anything. He didn't sense anything.
I don't see anything. I'm not sure what I'm saying to do.
I'm what I'm feeling. I'm very happy. I'm very content.
And, and, and, and the form that's what I'm doing.
He's extremely happy. And that's all he tells.
that moment and what he continues to feel now and he feels like he's doing everything exactly how he should do it.
Very disciplined and that's what brings him happiness and joy.
Well, it's very happy.
Like, how he's doing the campment, how he's doing the peso.
Amazing camp.
Myra, Ariel, I'll be sincere.
I'm surprised.
I'm just to me tell you something.
I am extremely surprised, impressed, and my discipline has been to another level.
I can't believe this is how I'm doing it.
The form that I'm doing it.
Weight cut has been amazing.
Everything that I'm doing has been...
The entranment, all no, no, no, no injuries, this camp.
Everything has been...
The training was super-fuelly, very, very strong.
No, no, no, no lesions, no contrapes, nothing.
Everything has been exactly how it should be.
I have to...
He just only to say,
God, God, God, God,
give you, God,
give you, God,
for how you're with me.
He just wants to make sure he thanks God
and, you know, he feels like God has blessed him
and he...
I have to give him, because I feel
that's very special to him.
You know, God has been very special to him
and has been very kind to him.
I think I, in reality,
I think that no, I'm not,
but I think that God is,
He feels like he's not deserving of God's love for him,
but he accepts it and he's very blessed.
Why do you feel like you're not deserving?
Why do you think that no...
No, I'm a merceive.
Oh, because
because,
the more look,
the,
the more study,
the more me know-known,
so I know,
so I'm not,
No, no one is merceoer of
nothing.
Nobody is merceived of the
favor of God.
And then I
think I could
be a better
person.
And,
and see
the way
in the way
in the
life,
the favors
that I'm,
look at the
other people
that are
better than I.
And I,
and I think
that I'm
favor of the
He feels like,
you know,
you know,
he could be a better
person.
You know,
he feels like
everybody could be a
better person.
And,
um,
no one is
really, you know, nobody deserves the kindness that God has given us.
There's a lot of people that are...
People that say, have seen the suingue and not get it.
There's people that are more deserving of me and they're not getting it, you know,
and he's very, very emotional.
And I have everything it needs in life.
I have everything it needs in life.
And then I think that,
that,
that,
I feel that
he doesn't feel like he deserves that much.
He has everything. He has everything he could
ever ask for, people around him, good people
around him, and he feels like maybe
there's people that deserve more
and are not getting it. So he
feels extremely blessed.
For example,
example.
People who
who are, that
who are, that are living, that are,
people that are fighting for their life.
And they lose everything overnight.
Look what happened in Venezuela,
Colombia, Spain.
Christians who are losing their life
in Africa.
The world is full of war.
And I live a life full of peace.
And he lives a life full of peace.
the things that I like. And I can do what I want. I can do what I enjoy.
And I'm doing
that I'm in the age that I have, many people don't even
be able to do it. And see how my
body responds to that form. I just simply
I think that is God, who is God, who
can be blessed. The way his body
is reacting to the sport and his abilities,
it's the only way that he can
put that to make sense is that God has given him
the favor. Now, I'm going to look at those
Now, you obviously can look around.
He says good people, he sees bad people.
I'm not the best and I'm not the worst of the people.
But I think God me bendice more than what I'm merced.
But he definitely believes that God has blessed it more than he's deserved.
Respect.
And I appreciate your humility when talking about that.
Going back to the face-off, they put out a promo of you to
facing off all over the place.
Did you see this video that the zone put out?
This commercial.
This is great.
Do you like this?
Yeah, I like it.
I like it.
Look at this.
Is this AI?
Is this AI?
I wasn't sure if you actually did it with him all over the place.
It was very funny.
I'm not sure if they were in the life.
Look at this.
You liked it.
Yeah, I like it.
Yeah.
See.
How do you feel about bare knuckle, Yuel?
You like bare knuckle?
See, I like it.
I like it because
it's
open doors
to many people that
don't have,
of that's the same
to,
I'll,
that they have the level
for to be in other companies
of the,
the level more apt,
and then no,
that has given that
possibility.
I believe that this sport has, you know, aside from, you know, what a great promotion it is,
it brings, it opens doors for athletes who maybe are not at the level of the UFC,
but it gives them opportunity to fight.
Maybe they can't box at the highest level.
But this gives them something to do, something to look forward to a platform.
Because, maybe they're going to enter in M.
But they're not in the luchess, but if they're in the box.
be a decent boxer, but they don't have the wrestling to make it at the highest level.
And they don't have the Jiu-Sin.
They don't have the Muay Thai, the Judo, the Judo, the Jiu-Jitsu, but they're scrappers.
And this kind of gives people the ability to fight at a high level.
But they're tolerant to gooppeo.
There's a lot of guys that are tough that can take punches, but, you know,
this is just different sport, this is different animal.
Different sport.
So, in the boxers,
There are people who can't clench.
In boxing, you can't clench.
You can't be a little dirtier or you can be a little nasty.
There's a lot of people who have that dirty boxing talent.
There's a lot of people that have that dirty boxing talent and I think this is a great platform for that.
And not all the world, it's not that many people that actually want to, that really like the pain of a bare knuckle.
When you feel the knudio,
to enter into your
body,
not everyone
is prepared for that.
When you feel that
knuckle
hit your face
and bone on bone,
not many people
are tolerant of that.
And there's people
that do,
that do have that talent.
I see your knuckle.
Oh, I saw your knuckle.
You're left.
I think it's your left
knuckle over here.
Yeah.
Are you punching
bare knuckle?
Are you training bare knuckle
when you're preparing
for this fight?
Are you hitting Mitz?
Bare knuckle?
I always trained bare knuckle
since he's done MMA.
Really?
Something that he used to.
You hit Mitz, Bear Nuckle?
That's he said that's normal.
Since M.M.A.
Since M.A days.
Wow.
Okay.
Yeah, because that's something
that's my culture of boxo-beye.
That's his old school culture.
In boxo, Cuban.
In the Cuban boxing,
this is something that naturally do.
I don't know.
I don't know.
He's not a modern day boxer.
He's an old school boxer.
I learned of boxeo of time of my father.
His dad, right.
This is something that he's been trained for years
since, you know, his parents, his old school way.
I learned about the boxing of the old school,
not the new generation for this new generation.
No, I know.
I learned about the old school.
So when I, from, since he's been a young boy.
You were the one, Y'all, you were the one that told us about Muhammad Ali,
shoddy man, dirty boxing.
You remember that?
Yeah, that's what I like it.
That's what I like it.
Legend, legend.
Y'all, can I ask you, a few months ago, we haven't talked since then,
you were supposed to wrestle Bo Nicol, and then you came in overweight,
and then he decided not to wrestle you.
Can you tell us your side of the story?
Yes.
That's,
that's a few months
you were
to fight
with your
Enoch,
no
put it
to sell
the
and then
Bonico
said
he said
he was
he
didn't
want to
think
is a
many things
I think it
happened
that fight
or that
match
one
that
had
had been
had
had
had
had
a
he was
to compete
with me
he's
eventually
he was
supposed to
compete
against you
and Bo Nickel got sick.
And he got off that competition.
Okay, and I competed
against this
man, that is of...
MMA or?
No, no, no, he's a...
With that I did the luch?
Yeah, but it was...
Troy the belt.
If he moved a number of the,
you know, and...
Who was?
I don't remember.
He...
He, he...
...the, he was a...
...the, he was a bell in Bell at all,
and he played a...
I don't remember the guy, the name the guy where you take the fight right now.
I lose the name.
He don't remember one of his last opponent, but in La Lucha.
Yeah, in the wrestling, one of the guys that he competed against, you don't, you can't know.
He can't.
The place of Bourneco, because Bonneco is it?
You can't?
You can't?
No, no, no, no.
That's the second time.
Oh, the first one.
The first one.
Okay, okay.
Anyway.
Okay.
Oh, Pat Downey, Pat Downey.
Pat Downey.
Pat Downey.
Pat Downey.
And Pat Donnie,
he gave the position of Bone Nichol.
And then, like,
as the 20,
like,
they were,
to do,
in Miami.
About a month later is when he was
able to set that match
with Bone Nichols.
Okay.
And I said, okay,
it's okay.
No problem.
I see,
I, I see this as,
like,
He's just looking at this like a training, like another training session.
All these wrestling rounds are just training rounds.
Like prep.
So, yeah, okay, I need to do.
And you also make a little money, so that's everything you get.
Everything about the competition for RAF is positive.
You know?
About when we get him,
I'm starting a little for the,
for the, like,
for the, like, the semester of the combat,
about a week out from that fight.
He was a little sick.
Because I had been in Colorado.
He was in Colorado, he had a little sick.
And so when I regreced in Colorado,
I had been, like, I caught a little of free,
and that he had a fever.
Yeah, he had a fever, so he had the week before that.
He had a fever.
Not fever, but cough to cough.
Yeah, he has allergies and...
He made an error.
He made an error.
Maybe he got an IV because he wanted to feel better.
Yeah, I wanted to feel better.
And that made me more.
And that made sure my face, but also me tranked in suad.
So it basically brought him...
It raised his weight, but also,
stopped him from sweat and kind of locked his body.
Okay.
He put out too much sodium.
And then when I'm when I'm training, well,
I'm not able to do the peso,
I said, okay, no problem.
But this is not a tournament of,
I don't know why Bonoico didn't know if that's a tournament.
You say you don't understand why Booneckle didn't take a match,
you know, it's not a big, you know, huge tournament.
This is not an Olympic game.
Not Olympic game.
Yeah, no, the classification, but the world,
Yeah, it wasn't a world championship or anything.
But whatever, you know, no problem.
Did you lose respect for him for not taking it?
That's if he said to let me respect.
No, he don't need his respect.
He's paid respect to the people.
A lot of people.
I think he did lose respect to a lot of people.
Because it's what the people think,
you have to compete with Romero.
But, well, it's that they think,
I respect his form of thinking.
to go, well, I'll play with this
man, he's a year, and
I'll lose him
in the UFC,
there's a lot of factors that, you know,
he respect his decision, you know,
at the end of the day, you know,
Uell Romero's an older gentleman,
and, you know, lose to him, you know,
wasn't going to look good,
and, you know, UFC might have gotten angry,
you know, a lot of factors that he respects his decision.
There's many, you know, behind the scenes,
you know, he doesn't judge him for it.
It's okay.
So, this
this guy who
went to Pucana
didn't
didn't even
his division.
Yeah, Buchanan also
missed weight in his division.
And then
then I say,
Romer,
you can't
play with this
man,
that's not
no problem,
I don't know,
I'll compete with him.
He took the match
regardless, though
Buchanan didn't make weight,
he didn't make weight,
so he said,
whatever, you know,
I would...
He had to play
I think in 2-25
and no put
to do the peso,
He was going to beasen to beas
I was thinking 2.13.
He was, well, I don't have
problem with that.
He was about 2.11.
Buchanan was about 2.35.
He was supposed to be
220, something.
2.25.
He was 25.
He made it.
He missed.
He p.
He p. 36.
He was rated in like about
236.
To do you, to play,
to do something.
Me pidder,
if I played with him.
He was helping out the promotion.
He figured,
put on a show, and why not?
Okay, well, I'm glad we clear that up.
Most importantly, we see you back in action this Saturday, AEO Arena,
Manchester, you versus Darren Till.
It's finally happening.
BKFC, Romero Till, golly, what a fight at light heavyweight.
I'm wishing you nothing but the best, YOL.
Thank you so much.
It's always great to see you and great to hear.
You know, this is a play.
This is a play that in reality, no, it's like heavyweight.
It's a play cashway because it's a, it's a part.
the bottom of the 2nd,05
is 190 liga.
No,
no,
not yet
the 185,
but they're
in the 190,
nor is 185,
that is middleway,
nor like a hueway.
Yeah,
and this fight,
you know,
it's not a light
heavy way,
it's not a middle weight.
It's a catch weight
at 190,
and,
and yeah.
Okay,
well, I can't wait,
and it's airing on DeZone.
Muchos gracias,
Yuel,
you're the man.
All the best.
Shalom,
shout on.
Felice Fiest.
Oh,
happy,
happy holidays.
Felice,
the Jewish holidays.
The Jewish holidays, correct.
Rosh Hashanah, happy New Year, Shana.
Shana'uha, Shana.
Oh, you're the best.
There he is.
Yuel Romero, thank you so much,
U.L.
all the best to you.
The great Yol Romero,
the soldier of God,
one of a kind.
And G.C. was killing me.
You're killing me, man.
Why were you...
Did you say soldier of God?
I said.
Soldier abroad.
Got dangerous there.
He got dangerous there.
We're not even on TV, but the FCC almost got involved.
That got...
It's icy, man.
Every time...
Did you see me?
Every time I was looking...
Oh, yeah, yeah.
Beat them off!
It's a rare thing you get pushed on the program.
I ain't talking George W.
Then I went to the YouTube chat.
Anything he said after that was Null and Void.
We can't move on from that.
We can't move on from that.
Jesus Christ.
take it easy man
do we need to go to a commercial area
take it away Frank
take it away so
also
also Jordan pointed out
all his clothes still had the tags
on him
because I think he just bought him
when he landed in Manchester
you know what that's like you love
Manchester I love Manchester I was glad to hear the review
did we front bench was shitting on it they were like
Manchester doesn't have good weather
Oh, it's the best. We had a great time. Did we go to the A.O. Arena? No, I think we went to the formerly known as Manchester Evening News Arena, which is now, wasn't the co-op?
Because it... The co-op was being built. Yeah, co-op was not done yet. A.O. was the smaller one. There's another one. Anyway, it's a pretty big arena. I think it's like 15,000 or something like that. But, yeah, that was wild stuff. Still to come, Pat Brown, who actually fought at the co-op on Saturday and won the British.
and commonwealth titles and who's a massive, massive, massive prospect in the cruiserweight
division. Eddie Hurons already talking about him fighting Jayao Pataya. He's a long ways away from that
and maybe the examples of the last few weeks in combat sports, the likes of Gable, the likes of
Mosetama will teach us that we should slow our role a little bit, but he is a, you know, Olympian
who has looked tremendous. I mean, he hits like a freaking truck. Had an amazing win on Saturday,
tremendous body shots. So we'll talk to him about that. We'll also talk to Jack Catterall about his efforts
to get Tiofima Lopez to fight him for the WBA Walterway title. And then it's on the nose time.
We also have some more news and notes. And I'm going to have a pretty interesting update on
yesterday's news regarding John Martin suddenly and abruptly leaving MVP slash PFL, just like that on his
personal Instagram page. And as of right now, still know, you know, announcement.
still no statement, nothing, nothing like that.
We just got the one statement on his Instagram story, and that's it.
So more of that to come.
Stay tuned.
For now, though, let us go back to UFC 331.
One of the great stories from that card on Saturday at the crypto.com arena was, of course,
Patricia Pipples' win over Duhu Choi.
And, you know, those of us who have been watching MMA and covering MMA for a long time,
we know who Pipple is.
We know that family is what they're all about.
and their great history in this sport, and in particular in Belator.
There's a strong case we made.
He's one of, if not, the greatest Belator fighters of all times,
certainly one of the most decorated featherway champion multiple times,
lightweight champion as well.
And since coming to the UFC, it hasn't been awful,
but it hasn't been the same type of success that he had,
certainly not from a performance standpoint,
two and one going into this fight,
and it felt like he was searching, or I should say one and two,
it felt like he was searching for that big moment.
And there was a lot at stake against a really,
fun fighter and he got that big moment.
A first round knockout, a beautiful right hand.
It was just, it was vintage pit bull.
I feel like we've seen him do that many times before in Bellator back in the day.
He gets the finish that he needed.
And afterwards, he said he felt like it was the first time that we got to see the Bellator
version of himself.
And so I wanted to have him on to talk about it all.
He's kind enough to join us right here and now.
There he is.
Particio Pitbull is here alongside his longtime coach, the one and only captain Eric Albarasin.
Guys, it's great to see you.
And Patricio, parabenz, congratulations on the amazing win.
I want to know off the bat, do you agree with everyone who is saying
that's the first time that we get to see the Bellator version of Pitbull in the UFC?
That was the first time that we got to see the version that we saw for so many years
and so many title fights at Bellator.
Do you agree with that sentiment?
Yeah, I agree with that.
Yeah, yeah, I agree with that.
Like I said, in the Octagon,
I said, I'm sorry about the last three fights.
I feel like that was my debut in UFC because I was feeling that it was not me 100%.
And now I can prove that.
I am back.
Captain Eric, we may not need your services.
I've seen Petricio's English as of late.
It's very good.
I know, I know.
He's been doing great.
I challenged him on the week of the fight that he's going to speak English.
He promised Dana White and the American people
who's going to start speaking English.
Okay, I love it.
Go ahead, Patricia.
Patricio Pitbull.
Katta was in my Instagram, in my WhatsApp, saying that,
hey, you have to tell all the history in English
because everyone I want to know about it for your mouth.
So I'm trying to do that.
I love it.
And that's very, very good advice.
You connect with people when you're able to speak English,
the vast majority of the fans do speak that language.
And so can I ask you, Petitio, why?
Why do you feel like that is the first time
that we've seen the old version of you,
the real version of you, the Belator version of you?
Why did it take four fights to get here?
I was a little bit frustrated in my life.
I don't know why.
Like something with my mind.
I was working on it.
And I bring back
old coach
that he worked with me
in 2010
when I was knocking
out everyone in Belator
so now he's working
with me again
and I don't know
I feel
I did a little
movements
a little moves
in my training camp
and we were successful
so sexual
so Eric you've been with
Patricio for quite some time
would you agree with this
going into the fight
like were you sensing
that it was the old
pit bull coming
out. I sense that it was the best version of the pit bull. You know, he brought in his old
boxing coach Adelson Silva, who's Anderson Silva's coach for the 10 title defenses. And I'll tell you
what, he was, Patricio never plays music in his training. And if you heard his entrance song,
it was Rocky. And he had, Adelson was playing Rocky, like Rocky 1, 2, and 3, the whole soundtrack,
every single practice for the last eight weeks.
So it was good to see the old Patricio Pid bull back
with the new mind of his.
Patricio, I had heard you say that you were feeling apathetic
towards your career, that you weren't feeling the same type of emotion.
Can you explain why?
Why do you think you were feeling this way?
And how did you get that emotion back?
How did you feel that same type of fire that you felt before?
I don't know, but I think
I made everything in my life like all records, all titles, and I feel I was like, I have nothing
to prove anymore.
And I was feeling without emotional.
And in this camp, I went to the silence.
His Col, Captain.
And he traveled with me.
Anderson Fernandez.
Is it Fernandez?
Anderson. And he worked with me and I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I was going to
try this frill in the back again. I thought he got to feel those butterflies in
his stomach again and, uh, that's what he's been missing. So you went to a hypnotist? Is
that what you said? Patricia, you went to, you went to speak to a hypnotist? He's a sports
hypnotist psychologist. Okay, okay, interesting. And was this the first time that you worked
with someone like that, Produccio?
Yes.
In my entire life, I never believed in that.
Because I thought someone, he needs a thing like this, they are weak.
But I know it's necessary.
Did someone tell you to go or try to convince you to go, encourage you to go?
Where did you come up with this idea?
No one.
It's all about me.
But my wife is a psychologist.
So you listened to your wife, she works in this field, and it worked, and you felt the difference.
Did you feel a difference right away, or did it take some time?
Can this happen?
You sent you a difference in the initial or it demurro a little?
I needed a little, like, a couple weeks to feel like the old people.
Were you starting?
Go ahead.
I was going to say I had brought up to the sports psychologist to him.
And I brought it up to Henry and some other guys.
And the world champs, I'll tell you what, they always come back with the same answer.
They're always like, I'm bulletproof.
My mind is bulletproof.
And I would go back to the sports psychologist and tell them that.
And they're like, yes.
He goes, they'll never come by suggesting.
And they always have to come on their own.
It has to be from themselves.
And I would be trying to pull this sports hypnotist for like seven years to talk to
Patricio and he would always say they can't be forced.
He has to come on his own and that's what happens.
And so, Patricia, what did this sports psychologist unlock in you?
What did you do with them to then, you know, regain that emotion and love for the sport?
I'm going to say that in Portuguese.
Sure, sure.
Sorry for that.
No problem.
Caton, he, he made some of the assists with me.
he made
the version,
the my version
actual,
to be a
last time
and in my
head was in
my head
these two
people
in a new
version
that was
today
also,
also,
we've discovered
in what
the trainer
I would
think I
would be
the commandos
without
questioner,
so for
that I
brought CEDS
in
that he made re-pensate in my trajectory,
that me made
have a success and a confidence
positive for this battle,
and I got more than October.
Yes, so, you know,
he, his job,
he made me connect my outer self
with my inner self.
And I was,
that's what I needed for the trajectory of this fight.
And I was able to do that in the ring.
I was able to, he asked me,
what coach brings out the motivation in yourself, the emotion, a guy that you would never question
that you're going to listen to everything he said.
And he brought up Adelson Civil, who he hadn't worked with for 12 years, 11 years, something like that.
And that's what he was able to do in the fight.
He combined his inner self, his at ourself, and he brought both of them together.
Excuse me.
Before all this happened, Patricio, were you starting to get worried that maybe you would never feel the same about the sport again,
that maybe your time had come and that you couldn't regain that emotion?
Go ahead.
For me, I was like with, I don't know if the correct word in English, but depression, depression, a capuch.
A bit apathetic, a little bit depressed.
Yeah, I was.
Yeah, a pathetic and a little bit depressed.
Okay.
I was a little bit afraid because in all my day and all my life, I own train and washing fights.
I don't know to do nothing.
Only this.
Wow.
And you had never felt that before.
I went like this for 10 years.
Wow.
I'm not happy with nothing.
If I buy a car for me, it's nothing.
If I'm buying a boat,
if someone has happened
with me, I don't care,
I'm like sad all the time.
Not sad, but like a normal thing for me.
Not to me,
Deschama Feliz, capital.
Nothing left him happy.
He was emotionless.
For 10 years?
Something like this.
That's a long time.
How did you live like that,
feeling that kind of depression for 10 years?
Only training and being a,
obsessant with my training, only work on it.
What about your kids?
That the only time I was happy with them.
And now do you feel like that has gone away?
Do you feel like you're happy now doing those other things outside of training?
I am 50-50 now.
Okay.
I think I'm 50-50 now.
I'll bring it back.
Okay.
That is fascinating.
Was this the last fight on your UFC contract?
No, I was wrong about this.
But I thought that was my last one because I needed that motivation.
So how many more do you have left?
I don't know for real, but I think I have six in total.
So two more left?
I think so.
Okay.
And did you find out about this after the fight, meaning did you need the motivation of the thought that, hey, this could be my last UFC fight?
to really bring it?
Yes, because if I lost that fight, I know it's a possible they cut me.
Yeah.
My lecture fights wasn't good.
So if I lost, that one was a possibility.
I don't know.
Were you feeling a lot of pressure?
I was feeling of pressure, but I was concentrating my game playing, in my coach, in everything
I did in the camp.
I know I had the fight coming, all the pressure, but I was positive.
What about the last fight against Aaron Pico?
In your opinion, what went wrong against him?
I think I won the first round, but in the beginning of the second, he hit me hard and broke my nose, and I lost my vision.
I didn't, I didn't, I didn't know if he was close or he was left.
I just so survived.
I lost my depth, my vision of depth, so I couldn't tell if he was close or far,
and that's how I fought the rest of the fight.
It was hard to tell where he was at.
Wow.
And has it fully healed?
Are you back to 100%?
Your vision?
Yes.
Okay.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
I'm good. I want you to fight again.
One month, two months, one week, I'm ready.
I told Hunter, and I'm ready.
And Shan, Dana, hey, put me to fight again.
Jan Silva, Zalau,
Steve Garcia, I don't care.
Well, this was very significant
because it was your first round finish in five years,
your first finish in two years.
Do you feel like a weight has been lifted now
that you were able to get such an emphatic,
positive, incredible, highlight, real finish like this on Saturday?
Yes.
old piti booze back and hungry.
Amazing.
What a feeling.
Can you describe that feeling
when you knocked them out like that
with that beautiful right hand?
I don't know.
It was unbelievable.
To me, it was amazing, awesome.
I don't know how to say that in English,
but I'm trying to find a word to describe that.
For me, it was very emotional.
Like I was a world champion
that moment, I feel like
it was against Pat Cooran in the second fight
and I became champion.
The same feeling.
Wow.
What a throwback that is.
What a great feeling.
And I'm sure there was a part of you for a long time
that thought maybe you would never feel that feeling again, right?
Yes, yes, yes.
And so do you think you're all the way back now?
Do you feel like this is,
Captain said it's the better version of you,
it's the best version of you,
but do you feel like we're about to see you go on a great run again?
like we did in Belator?
For sure.
Mark my words.
I'm going to knock him out everyone that put the face in front of me.
You mentioned John Silva.
Why do you want to fight him next?
Because I think the style combines and we can do a great match.
I think it can be a war or it can be easy.
For me or for him?
Do you think he would take that fight?
I don't know. He's in a great position now, and I think he's avoiding me.
But I have name. I did a great performance last Saturday, and I'm saying his name. Let's see.
I heard you say that you weren't so impressed with his win over Jose Delgado. Where's Captain Eric going? What's going on here?
What's happening? What's happened, Captain?
What's going on with Captain?
We're just moving location. Come on.
Oh, okay, okay. I didn't know.
You were, wow, okay.
He's crazy this guy.
Patricio, I heard you said that you weren't so impressed with John Silva's win over Jose Delgado.
Is that true?
Oh, yeah, he was like froze for three minutes and the guy was almost knocking out.
So if it was me, he was done.
So I believe I can be in him.
That's why I challenge you.
Okay.
And no injuries, right?
It was a quick fight, so you want to come back relatively soon?
No injuries.
If we have sick of me, I can fight next week.
Wow.
Captain, how does that fight go?
John Silva, Patricio Pitbull.
How do you feel about it?
You know, Patrisu's had some spectacular moments in his career.
I remember just for this fight, they're saying,
you're going to have to be spectacular.
and he was, I expect another spectacular moment in his next fight.
You know, he's done it against Koran.
The rivalries with Strauss and Chandler and McKee.
I mean, he continued to show that he can reproduce that.
So I would expect another spectacular moment.
I saw that you were hitting pads with John Jones before the fight, Patricio.
What was that like?
he's an awesome guy brother
he was in the locker room
and called my brother and say
can I try to hit pets with Pitbull
and my brother said go ahead
and that was a great moment in my life
I will remember that forever
Two goats
Yeah it's pretty damn cool to get the opportunity to do that
What did you think of Gable Stephson
His guy getting knocked out in 12 seconds
heavy ways brother
touch the chin
you'll be locked
do you think that
can he rebound from this
is that
yes
yes
it's happened
no problem
one fire is brother
that's a big part of the life
of professionals
speaking of backstage
I also saw you embrace
Maricio Huffy after his tough loss to Armin.
What did you say to him after that fight?
I said that, hey, brother,
heads up, believe yourself.
I know you will believe in God.
So that's a purpose in that.
And you know it.
Keep training.
You're going to be the champion one day.
I did that section him.
How was he feeling?
That was a tough knockout.
Yeah, yeah.
I feel he was good.
He was okay.
He was trying to understand what happened, but he was strong.
He's a very tough of that guy.
Next month, we're seeing the title on the line in your weight class.
Alexander Volkinovsky Mosarev.
Who do you like in that fight?
That's a big fight.
You know, no bar can doubt about Volcanovsk,
but I think this guy has the...
the game to take that belt for him.
I think everyone is going to win that match.
Wow.
Our respect for the champion, but I think it's going to change.
You think with his grappling, you think he takes him down?
Yeah.
Wow.
I think he's going to do that for five rounds.
You think it's a boring fight?
Yeah, for sure.
You agree, Captain?
You know what?
As much as he's prepared for Islam,
he knows how to prepare for a wrestler from Russia.
And I think he, yeah, I think Volcanovsky wins.
So I'm going against what Patricio says.
Okay, okay.
By the way, Patricio, your old friend, Scott Coker is back.
Did you see he has a new promotion?
And if so, what do you think of him coming back to M.A?
It's very good to see that because we know all.
The fighters can't sign with the UFC.
So for this sport, it's very good to know we have all the leagues promoting fires and
MMA lives.
But you're very happy in UFC?
Yeah, yeah.
I'm here.
You feel comfortable.
I don't like to move anymore.
No, I know.
A lot of people talk about the octagon jitters.
Like you get nervous when you fight in the UFC.
Would you admit that you felt.
that maybe in your first few fights and now it's gone.
Now you don't feel that anymore?
I was not nervous.
I was...
I was...
Calm.
I was...
Very, very calm.
I was...
Wow.
He didn't even feel present.
Really?
How is that possible?
I don't know.
I was like I'm going to...
I'm going to take a...
a map and I don't care. It was like this.
Wow. But now it felt different on Saturday.
See? Yes. So you're going to keep working with this sports psychologist.
For sure. And my coach, he was very important in my last week's.
Amazing. Well, I'm so happy for you. Welcome back. It's great to see you successful in getting
knockouts again. Very, very happy. Padaabins and looking forward to the next one.
Thank you very much. Thank you guys. I have a question, area. What did you think about neon being in Armands Corner?
Because that's never happened before because you know how hard it is to get, you know, there's six coaches fighting to get into three corners.
There's only three places. And as a streamer, and what about you being in a corner one day?
Are you asking me to be in? It's so good. I like that idea.
You want me to be in your corner, Patriccio?
Let's do that.
I hold the bucket.
I hold the bucket.
You're the, to tell you the truth, you're just as big as neon.
I see a lot of neon, a lot of you in neon to tell you the truth.
I don't know if I should take that as a compliment or not, but I appreciate it.
Thank you as a compliment because I was, I remember you in 2011.
Thank you.
You know, when we did it in Rio with Minotaur and O'Garren Anderson Silva.
Yes, sir.
just starting. And then now you're announcing that MVP. I mean, that's kind of,
uh, when neon, neon came started and now he's cornering. It's, it's, it's,
it's pretty cool how these streamers are taking over MMA and they're bringing their
streaming to MMA, Nina Armin. And, uh, my plan is to take the Pitbull brothers and bring
them to streaming. So, you know, that's why we're here at Creators Inc. We got the mat behind us,
take down wins it.
You know, Georgia O'Poolers did it take me down with a thousand.
I think streaming is definitely entered MMA, and we're going to bring MMA to streaming.
I love it.
All right.
Well, I wish you guys the best.
Thank you so much.
Captain Eric, you're the man.
Patriccio, so happy for you.
Congratulations and looking forward to the next one.
Thank you, brother.
Thank you so much.
I appreciate everything.
Thanks.
There he is.
The former Bellator, multiple-time featherweight champion and lightweight champion as well.
now two and two in the UFC, and that wasn't the last fight on his deal.
He said it was, but it wasn't.
What do you guys think?
Do you see a little Helwani and neon?
I mean, what a compliment, huh?
That's huge, man.
Yeah.
What's he trying to say?
Coming from the Creators Inc House?
I think second or third time it's been featured on this program.
You got to make a trip next time you're in...
Where is the Creators Inc House?
I would assume, L.A., right?
Got it, well...
I don't know.
Why is Rick always interrupt?
bringing today, dude.
You know, it's funny.
He mentioned 2011.
It just occurred to me as he said that.
There was hurricane, was it, wasn't Hurricane Sandy.
I think it was Hurricane Irene.
I was in Brazil covering UFC 134, Anderson Silva versus Yushin Okami, the return to Rio for
the first time in like, I don't know, 15 or so years.
And we couldn't fly back home.
So myself, Casey, Esther, stayed for a few extra days.
and we went to Nogara's gym
and this was after Nogera knocked out
Brendan Shob
and Captain Eric was there
because he was training Nogara
and he walked up to me with a piece of paper
and he said, remember this name.
Remember the name on this paper
and you know who was on that paper?
You know whose name was on that paper?
The Soldier of God.
James Tujano?
No, Y'O Romero.
Is it now, are we really going with,
we're not really going with Soldier of Rod, right?
For what?
for what man for his nickname moving forward yeah it has to be it has to be you know my stream is
sometimes like delayed and i don't know why it's stream it so i looked i looked at it and that part
bopped up what would you look at the rock you're sure you didn't just rewind why is this such a
big deal to ask about the abs i just wanted to see what's going on hey man pop the top let's see the abs
and then he gave us a little pop to bottom, you know?
Yeah, and then he took it down to the trunk.
It's bad, man.
It's bad.
Oh, God, geez.
Okay, get off the screen.
Cuban this with Rice.
Mute his bike, mute his bike.
It's too much.
I have to mute him on the computer as well.
Golly.
All right, still to come on the nose.
Hopefully no questions about that.

So if you have any issues, don't come to me, come to him.
Also, some more news and notes.
Jack Catterall are going to join us in about 25 minutes time.
But for now, let us talk to one of the brightest young stars in the sport of boxing,
26 years young, 7 and 0 with 7 knockouts.
A member of Team G.B., 2024 Olympic Games, just won the British and Commonwealth titles.
That was this past Saturday at the Co-op Live Arena.
An unbelievable six-round knockout against John Hedges went straight to the body.
I've said this time and again, it seems like every time he fights, it's like a truck just hitting the opponent.
And he hits so freaking hard.
He's somewhat unassuming with his demeanor and just his personality.
And then he comes out there and he just absolutely annihilates his opponents.
And now his promoter, Eddie Hearn, is starting to talk about him in some really big fights.
Let's say hello to Pat Brown, who is kind enough to join us right here.
Now on this Wednesday afternoon to talk about it all.
Hello, Pat.
How are you?
Hello, mate.
You're right.
Thanks for having me.
It's a great pleasure.
Congratulations on another great win for you.
My God.
You know those things that people, you know, they go to arcades.
I'm sure you have this over in the UK where you can punch those things.
Have you ever tried punching those things?
And if so, what is your highest score?
Because I don't know if there's anyone who punches harder than you in boxing right now.
Well, funny story, to be fair, talk sport, which is massive in the UK.
And they've got a punch machine.
When you go in to go live on the show and stuff.
And yeah, every single fighter or most of them in the UK has gone on it.
And I'm still at the top of it from what I've been told.
I only had one go.
So I said if someone beats me, call me back and I'll try and break it again.
I love that.
Do you remember what number you got?
I think you got something like 900 and, like high 900s.
I don't know specifically.
But yeah, I remember thumping it and a little.
Sam Jones is clearly off his shoulders.
I am not surprised because just watching your fight so far,
it's been absolutely outstanding to see the power on display.
When you ventured over from the amateur ranks,
the Olympic ranks over into the pro ranks,
is this what you were expecting?
Were you expecting to have this kind of success?
Seven wins.
Obviously you expect to win, but seven knockouts as well.
I've always been told that I've got a bit of a thump on me
and stuff like that.
and I've never liked to rely on it
even though it looks like I have
but yeah I didn't think my career
would kind of go in this direction so soon
and obviously like you said
seven wins, seven KOs
and I've headlined
three of them shows now
which is massive
and yeah I'm so grateful
it really has gone perfectly with Matrim
Eddie stuck to his word
and yeah the sky's the limit now
and John was an awkward opponent
and massive turnout there.
There was 5,000 people, a lot of pressure,
but I sucked it all up and got the job done.
When you say a lot of pressure, what do you mean by that?
What kind of pressure were you feeling?
I think it's more just like,
I think I would be the fastest cruise waiting to win the British title.
I'll be up there as just the fastest Britain general
in the least amount of fights to win the British title.
And, yeah, it was the first,
I've headlined in a place called Oldringham.
So it's only a small town.
And we had about 2 and a half, 3,000 in there.
And, you know, for me, debut and stuff, it was amazing.
I thought, oh, this ain't going to be top for quite some time.
And, yeah, they're at the Co-op Live.
Like I said, before, there was 5,000 there.
It was a massive crowd.
And I'm quite used to having a good crowd behind me anyway.
But Saturday night was something else.
And, you know, I had my dad didn't be changing rooms for the first time.
walking out with the belts, the ring walk was amazing.
And even just the build-up for this fight,
they had the gentleman theme going on, which is on Netflix.
So they got us all doled up in suit and tie,
and we went to this historic hall
and where they filmed peeky blinders before.
So they really put a lot of effort into the build-up.
And, you know, it adds pressure.
And I love that because, you know,
when you want to get to the top,
the pressure is only going to keep getting bigger,
bigger and bigger and I feel like I really have been thrown in the deep end,
turning over professional.
I've boxing a stadium before, boxing arenas before, headlined,
boxing America.
So I really am taking the boxes now.
And I know what I'm walking into.
You know, in the immediate aftermath, after the fight,
I was listening to Adelaideo and Tony Bellew
and Adé was comparing Tony to you because of the history as Brits,
fighting the Cruiserate Division.
And Tony very quickly said, you will be much better than him.
To hear that from someone like Tony, what does that do to you?
How does that make you feel?
Yeah, it's a great honour.
I've known Tony for a while now and he's a good man.
He's got a lovely family and he's always told me the truth.
He's never lied to me or anything.
When I meet him and stuff, he'll tell me a few little tips I need to work on.
And when I'm fighting, he's always there to be fair.
And I'll always look over the ropes.
And he might just give me a little tip or he might stroke his stomach,
meaning like go down to the body, that's the shot.
And yeah, Belieu doesn't lie.
So for him saying that, I really take it full on.
And yeah, it's quite surreal, really.
And it's nice to even be on your own show.
And I remember being on after the debut.
And I do feel like this win over hedges and having the British title,
it's starting to become real now.
Now it's all settling down a little bit.
Also in the aftermath, we heard Eddie,
her and start to put your name in the conversation with
Jayo Pataya, who's in most people's eyes, the best cruise
rate in the world. Tony, in the aftermath, then said,
okay, let's relax, let's relax. And I know your trainer, Jamie Moore
was there as well, and everyone's trying to say, like, let's take it easy.
We've seen some people get pushed a little bit too quickly.
When you heard that, when you hear your name being discussed with the likes of
Jai, what are you thinking?
Yeah, these are the big facts that I want, definitely.
I agree with Tony and Jamie.
You know, this boxing game, you can't get too carried away.
I am only 26.
I've only had seven fights.
You know, my previous fight before Hedges with Vasil Duker.
He took me eight rounds.
And I've still not done a full 10-round, 12-round fight yet.
So there's still plenty of learning.
I know I can do that in the gym,
but under them bright lights, it's a completely different ballgame.
And I'm not stupid enough to say, oh, yeah, I'll have this guy,
I'll have that guy.
me wrong, I'll fight anyone. I don't fear any man otherwise, wouldn't be in the sport,
but I'm also not daft. I've got a good team around me. I know what direction I'm going in,
and it's got to be the right fight at the right time. And yeah, listen, Oppetaya,
that'll be a massive fight in the future, whether that's in the UK at Old Trafford or
it's in America somewhere. I don't know. I would love that, but they're the sort of
fights a dream of and I'm definitely going towards that now, especially winning the British
title.
In your mind, how far away do you think you are realistically from those kinds of fights?
I won't say them too far off, to be fair.
I reckon from the top of my head, I would like to have at least another two or three fights
now against some really good oppositions.
You know, we were sturdy and strong.
They've been tested before and they'll take me into deep.
waters because I'm still yet to prove that to, you know, the boxing world, the boxing world
thought, can I box against a boxer in hedges? And I think I proved that. And I took my time
when I was patient. I wasn't just a bull in a china shot, which they've seen maybe at the start
my career in that, and I might get clipped a little bit, whereas I thought, I did a solid performance
Saturday night. So yeah, I reckon another two or three fights and then we'll be knocking on the
door of the mega fights then, I would say. Okay, I honestly wasn't expecting you to say that few
amount of fights and perhaps it's because we're living in a post-Mozatama Philip Hergevich
world. Do you feel like what transpired in that fight about a month ago will, you know, cause for
some people on your team, even your promoter, I know he's not talking as such, but behind the scenes
say like let's let's not make the same mistake here let's just take our time and slow our role a bit
yeah course obviously the moses fight everyone watched it everyone had an opinion on it and you know
moses talent is unbelievable and everyone knows the fitness let him down and if you paste himself
i do believe he was fit enough to get through the 12 rounds because of how fast his start was
one to six, one to seven.
But you're absolutely correct, yeah.
I'll be sitting down.
We'll be mapping out who I'm going to be getting in the ring with.
We need to see how the fights go as well.
There's plenty of names domestically who are tough
and stylistically, they're going to be barnstormers
and they're going to be really tough, tough fights
that I'm going to have to go to the well and back.
And they put you in good stead for fights like Opataya.
And he really is the Crem de la Crem.
He's top of the tree.
He's the main man to beat, and I certainly want to get there at some point.
I want to beat the man, and I want to take the crown, definitely.
I wanted to just go back very quickly to the highlights from Saturday,
because, again, another great performance out of you,
your first 12-round scheduled fight,
and you only needed six rounds to dispose of John Hedges.
And if we could just look here, this is the very end of the fight.
Can you tell me the body shot there?
I love a good body shot, and you crumpled him there.
Was that something you were looking for?
And what is it like to connect like that and be able to dispose of your opponent with the body shot?
Yeah, I love the body shot.
It's definitely the left up to the body is one of my best shots in my locker, as well as the left up to the head.
And the thing is with a body shot, so you've got the liver on the right side of your rib.
So whenever you hit someone there, like they feel it and you can't recover from it.
Whereas your other side, you can take a lot more impact.
So if you've got a medicine ball, you're getting someone smacking the left side of your rib, right?
It won't hurt as much as the right side because that's where the liver is.
So when you get it when they least expect it, they're like gasping for air.
And it's worse than churning them, like the pain.
When you feel it and you're trying to get oxygen back and you start panicking.
And that was the plan.
Like steady start working out.
keep stabbing him down to the stomach with straight shots.
Don't show him any hooks yet.
And then the first body shot I threw was in the sixth round.
I got him when he didn't expect it.
And that's why he went down like that.
And then I knew straight away to pounce on him,
but don't get too close where he can grab me, take me time.
And that's what I did.
I did through the jab, then through the right hook
just to bring his guard up even more
and then whipped it straight back down again.
But I do love the left up to the body.
and, you know, in honor of Ricky,
and that was his shot as well.
And it was a massive tribute to him
with a year on, with his passing.
And, yeah, it's a great shot, and I love it.
And you knew Ricky, right?
You've kind of been around him and training and whatnot?
Yeah, so Ricky's, you know,
his amateur boxing club back in the day
when he was a youngster with Seaw West ABC.
He got coached by Mr. Paul Dunn,
who sadly passed away many years ago,
God rest his soul
and yeah
he was knocking around the gym
with my uncle
with my old man and stuff
they were a lot older than him
but everyone knew
he was a special talent
and yeah
he used to come to the gym
punched a bag
and he used to go out
with me dad and stuff
now and again
he was very close
to a couple of people
who sponsored him
who now sponsored me
and the family friends
and there's people
who passed away as well
who also sponsored Ricky
who also
did sponsor me as well. So he's very close to my heart and it was just a lovely tribute to him.
And also John, John, it was Ricky's, Ricky was his coach. So Ricky was a massive part of that
buildup and in honor of him. So yeah, it was great to sort of finish it with a body shot that he
would have liked. You mentioned that you had your father in the changing room for the first time
as a pro. When was the last time? Because I know he trained you back in the day as well.
when was the last time that you had him in the changing room in your corner for a fight?
That's a good question, Matt.
It probably would have been.
So never as a pro.
When I was on GB, you would never have done that either.
Then I was at Moss side.
So you're talking at least 2019 just before COVID.
Oh, wow.
And why did you feel like this time?
This time was the right time to bring him back?
back in there.
My dad's everything.
He's my best mate.
I do the sport, like,
just for him, really.
Make him proud, make the family proud.
My two brothers, well,
one of him still boxers, young little Ben.
Daniel, he packed it in,
but he had many fights.
It's a boxing family.
And my dad runs Saye West Amateur Boxing Club now.
Mr. Dunn passed the gym onto him.
So it's very close to my heart.
And I just wanted him to be in the changing room
and give me that extra strength,
let him experience it,
walk out with the flag around his shoulders,
kind of like, you know,
Connor Ben did with Nigel
and obviously Chris did with his dad.
And it's important to keep a close-knit team
and people who love you
and they have that positive energy around you.
And yeah, my dad's everything.
And, you know, what I know I'm going to get deep,
but one day when he does go,
I can go sleep at night knowing
I did everything as a son to make him proud and giving memories that other fathers would dream of.
I love that. Much respect to you. How old were you when you were introduced to boxing?
So my dad got the gloves on me in the house when I was about four years of age. He was punching the pillows and stuff.
And he used to take me the field and I had to do laps and then punch the pads with him.
And then he took me to sail West boxing club when I was seven. And at that time,
you weren't allowed to be in the gym.
It was 11 years of age.
They were the rules because that was when you could fight.
But Mr. Dorn, he knew my dad.
He said, right, I'll let him through.
But if he's messing around, they'll be gone and all that.
And I knew most of all the lads in there just threw me dad anyway.
And that was it.
As soon as I walked through the doors, the smell of the gym, the competition,
having a laugh with all the boys and that,
I absolutely loved it.
And I was there Tuesday, Thursday.
And then as the years went on, they opened the gym on a Sunday as well.
so three times a week was there and it was my whole life.
Do you remember how old you were when you started to feel like
this was something you wanted to do as a professional?
This is the dream that you wanted to turn into a reality.
Honestly, ever since I walked through the doors at 7,
I remember in school, you used to get these books.
They were like planners and you had to design them yourself
and I had Floyd Mayweather on there,
I had Ricky on there, I had a football in the corner,
but everyone always knew me as the boxer throughout school
from primary, secondary and then so on.
And I used to always say to the teachers,
you know, I don't need all these grades or education.
I'm going to be a professional boxer.
And some of them laughed.
Some of them, you know, kept me dreaming and stuff.
And now I'm living it.
They were at the co-op live watching,
supporting messaging me.
And it is really surreal now.
I am living the dream and I'm reaping the rewards,
but I'll always keep my feet grounded.
I'm going to go and show the belts to my dad's gym
and to Nigel Travis's gym in Moss side as well
because that's what it's all about,
showing the kids at a grassroots level that it can be done.
The ones that laughed at you, were they in attendance as well?
They might have not been in attendance, but I know they would have been watching.
I knew a few of them who was in attendance
because a few of the lads were telling me,
And I've had a few messages off some old school teachers and stuff
and they want me to come in and do a talk and I will be doing that
because me at school as a kid, I was always sporty, I was always competitive.
I was a bit of a cheeky chap.
I was never rude to teachers.
My dad never brought me up that way.
So I never got told off for being rude.
It was more.
I was a bit of a chatterbox having a laugh with a boys.
And education-wise, I found it hard to concentrate on certain subjects
just because I didn't have an interest in it.
So grades-wise, I struggled a little bit.
And I remember I couldn't go to sixth form after school,
which is like once you finish your years at high school,
you move on to either college or sixth form.
And all my mates went sixth form, and I didn't have the grades.
And I was absolutely wounded.
I was dead upset.
I remember crying at home because now I had to go a college on my own
without any of my mates, go in a different environment.
But you know what?
that made me into the person they am today even more
because they had to mix were new people,
new kids from different areas,
and it just made me drive to be a boxer even more so
because I didn't want to do just like, you know,
being an electrician or a plumber.
Not that, that's not a bad job
because my brother's an electrician,
but it just wasn't for me.
Boxing has always been just in me.
And, yeah, the dog inside.
I can't let it go.
You mentioned potentially down the line a massive fight at Old Trafford.
I know you're a big man United guy.
How are you feeling about the boys this season so far?
12th place in the Premier League.
Yeah, it's shocking really.
And do you know what it is for me?
It's the passion.
I remember when the World Cup was on and all this,
you're looking at all the nations and they're singing the national anthem,
the holding the heart, they've got passion,
and they'll die for the country.
And I'm looking at England and there's no soul, there's no fire in them.
And it's the same with United.
They're not running around the pitch, wanting it.
Even when they're getting off the coach and the walk into the stadium and stuff,
when there's kids screaming at you and stuff.
And I know because I've been there, I've walked to obviously the co-op live.
And when kids are screaming and the shouting, the energy that you get,
And it's a superpower.
And there's just nothing in between their eyes at all.
There's no passion whatsoever.
It's Manchester United.
It's the biggest club in the world.
And it is a shame.
It's been going on for years.
And, you know, the prices are going up for the fans.
And it really isn't looking good at the club.
And obviously, Old Trafford itself.
It needs redoing.
There's a leak and all that stuff.
And the list just keeps going on and on and on.
Are you in favor?
of a new stadium?
Yeah, definitely.
They've obviously said
in making one,
and I think it'll be brilliant.
Obviously, the designs
that they've shown
look remarkable,
but I don't know how many years
that's going to take.
It may not be true
if it's going to actually
look like that.
But like I said,
you're talking about
the biggest club in the world.
You look at Tottenham Stadium.
It's unbelievable.
Absolutely unbelievable.
I remember watching
Ussick and Dubois there.
I remember watching
Ubank Ben there.
It's sensational.
Yeah, and by the way,
I just saw the tattoo on your bicep,
obviously you represented Team GB.
What do you think?
2028, have they made the announcement yet?
Is boxing going to be in the Olympics,
or is it still on the chopping block?
So remember, when I just finished the cycle,
there was this organization,
the world boxing organization and stuff,
and that they were going back and forth,
fire emails, obviously,
saying why it should be in L.A.
And I do believe it is going to be in the Olympics, L.A.
My lads are currently at the Europeans this week.
Domar Thomas is just won his fight.
He's in the finals now.
And he is a super heavyweight kid, very promising,
got a very sharp jabber.
I was actually sparring him for the Hedges fight.
He's a tall Southpour, big lump.
And the cycle of the Great Britain squad for this next Olympics,
it really is looking promising.
They're getting valuable experience
and yeah, they're picking up
international medals and major medals left, right and centre.
What do you make of your guy, Eddie,
fighting to keep the AJ Fury fight in the UK?
Yeah, I'm all for it, definitely.
I think it's two UK fighters, obviously.
We've all been waiting for this fight for many, many years.
I'm happy that it should be in the UK.
I think they should make it, you know, a suitable time where it caters for everyone.
So it's a nice time in America.
It's an okay time here.
Us Brits, they love a late night out and they love getting on it, don't?
So they won't be bothered by that.
But yeah, I definitely want it in the UK.
I think it's going to be the biggest event, sport has seen,
even though they've both passed the primes.
And people who are saying, I'm not watching it because they're not in the prime anymore.
It's a load of rubbish.
You're not going to sit at home and not.
put it on your TV, it's going to be
absolutely humongous.
Who do you think wins?
I think Fury.
I think he's fresher.
And just, even with the
Matt Moodov fight and he went the rounds
and he was getting the rounds under his belt,
Matt Moodov is still a serious
fighter. I'm not saying A.J.
could have knocked Mock Mood about, but I just
think from AJ's last performance,
I think Tyson's got it more
on his legs. And people
can say about Tyson's fight in Thailand.
And that was just a sparring contest.
He was just doing that to tick a few boxes and make sure he's got all the cobwebs off.
He's not Daph Tyson.
But yeah, I believe Tyson will be him.
Wow, you know what?
I respect that a lot.
I thought maybe you'd go with the matchroom guy, but you're telling us how you feel in your heart.
So much respect.
You're keeping it real.
Yeah, I wear me out of my sleeve.
I don't.
What I think I say, I won't be swayed by anyone.
You always get caught out if you're not yourself.
What do you make of what's, okay, so Johnny Fisher is fighting this weekend.
He left Matrim to go sign with Zufa, Zufa trying to institute their own belts.
Jai is a Zufa champion, whatever that means.
How do you feel about them trying to maybe get rid of the sanctioning bodies and the three-letter belts
and trying to bring in their own promotional belt?
I can see why they're doing it, definitely.
They're obviously trying to make it more like the UFC.
I believe the organizations, they should still be about just because of the history.
I don't think you should wipe the history of them belts out of it.
But it's all policies again, isn't it?
We're boxing it. It's easier said than done.
But I am all for Zuffer boxing in terms of opportunities for fighters
because at the end of the day, we're putting our lives on the line
and if they can give fighters a healthy amount of money
and fight and give them a future and let them live the dream,
I'm all for that.
The more opportunity for the fighters, I'm backing.
And also all promoters need competition.
And it's nice to sort of let them play off each other.
It's entertaining.
And they're the facts you want.
Imagine me and Oppataia Zuffer versus Matrum and like the hype behind it.
It just adds more sauce to it, doesn't it?
It puts the cherry on top.
How many more fights do you have with Matrim?
So I think I've got in year two, I've got something like another
two, maybe three, and then year three
has to be negotiated, so yeah, I've still got a good run
with Matt Drew. You happy so far?
Definitely, yeah, they've lived up to the word. That's what happened
when I sat down with him because I'm a man where, you know,
black's black, white's white, there's no in between
or anything like that, just tell me the truth. And if we're both on the
same line, it'll work, and they've definitely done it. And I've stuck to
my word as well. And that's just how
business should be. It should be the old-fashioned way. Don't get me wrong. You need things in writing.
Of course, you've got to cover yourself. But I'm also sort of old school where if I'm looking
at you in the eyes and you're telling me your word as a man, then we'll go for it. But if you
ever let me down or you don't stick to it, then I'll wash my hands be. I'll never talk to you
again. By the way, speaking of the UFC, I've seen you with Andy Aspinall and Tom Aspinall.
Have you ever actually trained with the Aspinall's before?
So no I haven't actually
They've invited me to
Actually come and do a bit of a wrestle and stuff like that
And I might take them up on the offer
Because it'll be really good training
You know for boxing when you're getting in the clinches and stuff
But yeah they come down with big Stan
He was my last sparring partner for the Hedges fight
Stan used to box nationally for his
His nation he comes to GB sparring
Boxing was his first discipline
And now he's obviously doing
mixed martial arts with Tom Aspinall and his old man
and yeah it was nice to see him
it was nice to see Tom in the flesh and that
I've heard good things about him
from obviously he's been brought up not too far away
from where I got brought up from
and the good people
and he watched me sports stand
and he was saying how many rounds is you fight
it's at 12 and obviously it's completely different
to the UFC isn't it
with the rounds and the minutes you're fighting
when do you think we see you
again. How soon? Yeah, I reckon I need to sit down with the team. Obviously, this is me
week off, which I'm having. And when I sit down, we'll come up with a plan. And I reckon maybe
back end of the year, if not, definitely start of the year. I want to keep the momentum going.
And yeah, I want to keep striking whilst the iron's hot.
Well, you are on fire, my friend. It's a lot of fun watching you do your thing. I just want
I wish you continued success. Great job on Saturday. Well done. Congratulations. Enjoy the week off.
Enjoy everything that comes with a big win like this at a venue like that. And I feel like we're
going to be talking about you for a very long time in some very big fights. And you're just so much
fun to watch. Always make it a point to watch you when you compete. So again, congrats and thank you
for the time tonight. Thank you very much. And thanks for bringing me back on. It's nice.
You know, I spoke to you after me debut, speaking to you now. And it'd be nice to look back on all the
interviews that we'll do when my career does come to an end. And yeah, it's an honor. So thank you very
much. And I dropped the dead weight ad day. So now it's just me. So it's way better this time than our
first chat. So it feels like a real proper intro to our audience on this program. And so looking
forward to many more from you, Pat, and obviously watching you compete. Thank you so much.
Bob Mann. Thank you. Take care. Bye-bye.
Pat Brown. Going to be a guy that we're going to be speaking about for quite some time in the
cruiserate division and perhaps in the heavyweight division as well. A good friend and training
partner of his is the man they call El Gato, Jack Catterall, and he has been quite vocal as of late,
especially on social media. He wants the Tiafima Lopez fight. We talked to Lopez about it after his
win, not that long ago over Roli Romero. He wants to fight Ryan Garcia, that is, and he's been
quite vocal about that. And so as of right now, Jack Caterall is the WBA regular welterweight champion,
but he wants to unify those belts with the man who is holding the WBBBB,
WALTAWRWA title and that is Tiafima Lopez.
So let us get the word from El Gato himself.
Jack Caterall, kind enough to join us right here now on this Wednesday afternoon to speak about all of this.
Hello, Jack, how are you?
Very well, thank you, Errol.
How are you?
I'm doing great.
Great to have you on the program.
So what's going on here?
Because the latest we saw was that the WBA ordered this fight.
Is that accurate as far as you are concerned?
And if so, what does that mean for the actual future of the fight?
Yes, we had good news yesterday.
The WBA made the announcement.
I think we've got a 30-day negotiation period now for the fight.
This is what we signed up for when we took the fight back in May with Shacram Giersoft.
So it's been called now and hopefully Tia wants to fight.
Like you said, I've been vocal on social media.
I want to test myself and fight only the big names of the division.
So I'm in the gym.
I'm locked in and I'm looking forward to some news.
Everything he has been saying, his management has been saying,
would suggest they're not that interested in the fight.
And so do you feel like he is going to take it?
I'm 50-50.
I think if you look at Tio, Tia's resume, he's never ducked no fights.
Listen, I understand the commercial value of a fight between Tio and Ryan Garcia.
But in the same breath, Tio talked about wanting to unify the belt.
So unless he fights anything, he can beat me, then going unify, he's not on track to do that.
Do you think it's all about him trying to search for those big,
fights or do you think there's a part of him that doesn't want to fight you that doesn't like
the style matchup it could be a bit of both i don't read into it too much um i've shown the respect
he was a great fighter um i had the fight in may and i put myself in a position on the promise of
getting a crack at the super super version of the wba world title that's now been ordered um in my position
now all i can do is take care of myself remain in the gym and um look forward to to see how it unfolds
Now, like I said, I'm still 50-50.
I would love to fight Tio, but if that fight can't be done
and he doesn't fancy fighting, then we'd appreciate
making the decision and vacating the title
and let me carry on doing my thing.
I know that it's only been about 24 hours or so,
but have any talks begun at this point?
You know what? I've not heard nothing today.
I've been in the gym.
It was actually over in Sheffield today,
helping my good friend, Alton Smith,
WBC World Champion, do some rounds for his fight.
But no, I've not heard nothing.
I'm in contact with Sam.
I'm in contact with Eddie Hearn.
And hopefully, towards the back end of the week, maybe the next week,
we have some indication of which way it's going to go.
I mentioned you being vocal on social media.
Can I ask you an honest question?
Because your manager loves social media, Sam Jones.
Is that you writing all that stuff?
Because we see you in the interviews and you're quite soft-spoken and very respectful.
And then there's a bit of a, you know, there's a bit of a turning up the heat on
on X.
And so I'm wondering,
who's writing this stuff?
Yeah, I'm writing this stuff.
I'm writing it,
but you've got to understand
the position I'm not a
shit talker, so to speak.
I don't work the
mouthing off at people,
but I've been in this position before.
I think when I was last
mandatory for the WBO World title,
I was mandatory for three years,
and that's where the frustration
comes from.
I've been promised
that I'd be made mandatory
for this title,
which has now happened,
so I'm over the moon.
And more than anything,
I just want to get in there and get some big fights going.
Do you feel like because of the fact that you are, you know, soft-spoken,
you don't like to stir the pod and talk smack,
that it sometimes works against you when push comes to shove?
Yeah, of course.
My confidence has always come from me, belief,
and the work that are doing the gym.
But if we look back only 12 months ago,
I was vocal on X and it landed me a fight in Tottenham against Echo Esseman.
My good friend, Rick Reno, managed to help with Eddie
and Sam to get me on the card.
So it certainly works.
I don't want to make an example of myself
and send the wrong message out there.
But I think sometimes a closed mouth doesn't get fed
and I'm in a position now
we've got to make the most of my career and push forward.
I saw someone write to you yesterday
that no one wants to see this fight,
you versus Lopez, just take the step aside money
and you wrote absolutely no effing chance.
I'm wondering, is there a price?
Like, you know, if they offer you X,
amount, would you do that?
Ariel, I'm a fighting man.
I love the combat. I love the fights.
I think there's a price
on everything in life, but right now
that kind of thoughts
that entered my mind,
I just want to fight Tiffimo Lopez.
What did you think of his performance
against Roley?
You know what? I thought it was
a good fight. I didn't think it was
spectacular.
Two complete opposite styles
did what he needed to do to get
win which which was fair enough I think frustrating part for me was you coming off the
back of a loss and I was promised Roli was going to fight within 180 days of my fight
he managed to slip in there Tio managed to slip in there and every credit to me took the
fight got the win but no it's time to serve your mandatory and in a way it's the bigger
fight right Tifumo is a bigger name than Roli Romero I know Roli's respected and he had
the win over Ryan Garcia but I feel like this is a
a more desirable matchup.
Would you agree with that?
Yeah, definitely, I think you've only got to look at Tio's resume.
He's been in there with a lot of big-name high-profile fighters.
He's had some great wins, so you would put him up there as one of the top boys in the division.
He showed up to the Garcia-Benz Fight Week in the disguise at the press conference and the aftermath and whatnot.
He was very present.
Do you feel like he was trying to really go out of his way to make something happen,
to insert himself into the story and to get the fans behind the ideas?
you have him fighting one of those two eventually becomes Ryan Garcia instead of fighting you
the mandatory?
Yeah, of course, they were trying to push the narrative.
And again, I understand the business side of boxing, I understand the social media aspect.
He was there and he was making news, he was making headlines, and he was pushing that narrative.
I'm just glad the WBA stood by the word and enforced the decision yesterday.
You know, there's strong talks that AJ Fury is going to happen December 11th in Cardiff.
I saw you sort of throw out the idea of you guys fighting on that card.
Do you think there's a chance of that happening?
Is there any shot whatsoever?
Yeah, I think so.
Maybe Tio thinks the fight maybe deserves its own platform and its own fight night,
but that's definitely an option.
It's a massive card.
We've had conversations with Match Room and with Sam, and that's a possibility.
It gives him good time since his last.
fight to rest. We're looking at a December date.
So who knows?
Why does he continue to refute
the idea that you're the mandatory?
They claim to have paperwork and letters.
Even though I know what the WBA said yesterday,
why do they continue to sort of say that this isn't the case?
I think that's the narrative.
My understanding was we signed an agreement
back before the fight took place in May with Shackham,
who was also mandatory for well over 18 months.
Gilberto Mendoza told us that whoever won the fight in May
would then look at, he would look at enforcing the mandatory
and at the time, Rother Romero, the champion,
would have to defend within 180 days.
He took the fight with Tio,
and from my understanding, the obligation now passes over to Tiofimo Lopez,
now he disputes that and says he's had other letters or other contracts.
Well, we're yet to see them.
so we'll
yeah we don't know
I know we talked a little bit about
Cardiff but you've never fought in the United States
14 year pro career
is that something you would like to do
and you feel like maybe this is the one that gets you over the pond
yeah quite possibly
I've had a lot of big name high profile fights in the UK
I think pretty much 99% of British boxer's dream
would be to get over to the States
and have a big fight but
for me it doesn't matter where the fight takes place
it could take place in Manchester
the London,
Los Vegas.
I just want to get in there
and get it on
and pick that title up.
Must have felt good
to see Terence Crawford
when he listed
a bunch of fights
that he wants to see
coming up
you versus TIFU
MOL Lopez
to get that sort of
endorsement from one
of the greats
that I'm sure
felt good.
Sorry to Butting,
sorry, go on.
No, no, go ahead.
Yeah, I've seen
the reaction online
yesterday.
There was a lot of positive
comments,
a lot of people
up for seeing the fight.
Crawford called it
on his wish list.
So again,
I think I've seen a few people come out and say,
why is he going to box a non-name fighter?
But I don't believe that's the case.
I think I've earned me right to be here.
Well, I have earned me right to be here.
Sure.
I fought Shackham, who was considered the Borgieman at Welterweight,
undefeated fighter, and he was struggling for an opportunity.
We took that fight.
We beat him.
So I've earned me right to be in this position.
Speaking of the Welterweight Division,
obviously in focus recently with Garcia and Ben,
Were you shocked at it ended so quickly and emphatically?
Yes, I know.
I did think we'd see a little bit more from Conner Bend.
He'd come out of the blocks fast.
I was working for Dazone that night,
and we stayed up, we watched the fights,
and Garcia did what he needed to do,
and I think it just showed that the levels in boxing,
and he skipped a few levels.
He jumped in with an elite fighter,
and he got to find out.
Who do you think Garcia fights next?
Hopefully not two feet more Lopez.
Yeah.
Do you feel like there's a talk that he is the face of American boxing,
that he could be the face of worldwide boxing?
Do you feel like he's deserving of that?
I'd like to see another couple of fights against who we consider the elites in the division,
but he's up there.
He's in probably the top three or four.
Do you feel like Conner's days of fighting at Walter Raid are done now,
that he should go to 54 or 60, as has been discussed?
Yeah, listen, that's Connor's decision.
I think I was quite vocally not boxed up well to wait.
I think it'd been over three or four years.
And he was quite vocal himself saying this was his last fight at 47 before the Ryan Garcia match.
So it'd be interesting to see what his next decisions are, but I don't think we'll seem
at well to wait next.
By the way, yesterday was the 14-year anniversary of your pro debut, a four-round decision
win over.
Do you remember the name?
Carl Allen.
At the
Boulder's Exhibition Center.
That's right.
What do you remember from that night?
Unbelievable.
I'd not had the biggest amateur career.
And I had a lot of fights,
sued a lot of tickets,
and went out there through a million punches,
went the four-round distance with Carl Allen.
Unbelievable.
That was the start of me pro career.
I've been very grateful and very blessed.
I'm still here fighting and challenging 14 years later.
How nervous were you?
So nervous.
All my friends and family, I had good supporters as an amateur,
but I wasn't an Olympian, and I didn't go meddling in these big tournaments.
So to make me a professional debut quite close to home, it was nice.
And a lot of the people that was there that night still follow me to this day,
so very grateful for all that support.
How many amateur fights did you have?
Around about 70.
Okay.
Oh, so that's, and you consider that not too many?
Yeah, not compared to a lot of fights.
I was fighting on a lot of club shows in the UK up and down the country.
I've always enjoyed fighting.
But I was a good amateur, wasn't a great amateur, didn't get to any of the big tournaments,
but I still had that burning desire, so I turned professional quite early at 19 years old,
and yeah, it's been some journey.
Is it true that before boxing you were actually into wrestling and judo?
Correct, yes, we did a couple years wrestling, a couple years, judo.
unbelievable but I think I've been
vocally saying it almost wasn't enough
physical contact it was good
but at 10 years old you could join the local boxing club
and I've just been listening to Pat and I was exactly the same
as soon as I went down there the smell the atmosphere
the coaches the camaraderie it was unbelievable
and my first fighter at 11 and I've boxed
every year since then to this day
so you never considered MMA because that's
a great background to have for MMA
Yeah, we've, and we've spoke about this this last couple of years, we're laughing at it,
so I'm in a gym in Liverpool now in four corners, unbelievable gym,
and it's a combat gym.
We've got professional boxers, amateur boxers, all sorts of different mixed martial arts,
and I do fancy getting in there.
Wow, you think about it.
Yeah, definitely.
I see the guys downstairs, wrestling, the elbows, the kicks,
and who knows, maybe after boxing, we can have a go at that.
Have you ever done it with them recently?
Like, do you say, hey, let me get on the mats with you guys?
No, not recently.
I'm fully focused on the job I've got in hand.
I'm fully focused on these fights that we've got coming up.
But there's a burning desire to go downstairs into the basement and do some MMA.
I like this.
Well, Eddie's sort of dipping his toe into the world of MMA, managing guys and whatnot.
So maybe there's a path there for you.
Maybe one day, who knows?
I love that.
But also, one of nine children?
Correct, yes. Seven brothers, three sisters. There's a lot of us.
Wow. Wait, seven plus three is ten. So there's ten of you total and there's nine siblings?
Eleven in total.
Eleven in total?
Golly.
Same parents, all of you?
Not same parents.
Okay, okay.
Yeah, step-parents, but we all live local. Everybody gets on. It's unbelievable. We've got a great family.
Was there ever a point where all 11 of you were under the same roof?
I think we've got pictures of probably, yeah, probably all of us at some stage.
But not that you were living together.
No, not living together.
It's always been busy households, different siblings, different weekends.
But there's a lot of us and it's a great family.
I love my family and are unbelievable.
And any of them also fighters?
I've got a younger brother.
He'd be 13.
He'd be having his first amateur.
fight in the next month or two.
Wow.
I think two of my other brothers have boxed.
Three of them have trained, not boxed.
But, yeah, everybody's into their own sports, weightlifting, boxing, training.
It's a fitness family.
I love that.
Are you a United fan as well, like Pat?
You know what, I really?
I'm not a massive football fan.
I've been to a few football games, but it's not really my gig.
Okay, you just like the combat sports?
Just like the combats.
I appreciate that.
Are you living in Manchester?
I'm in between Manchester and Liverpool, so I'm not too far away.
Okay, there's a big one in Manchester this weekend.
Darren Till against you, O. Romero, are you familiar with Darren Till?
I am indeed, yes.
My coach, John Gillies, he's good friends with Darren.
He's done a lot of training with him over the years, so I'm not at the fights on the weekend,
but I'm certainly tuning in watching Darren Till.
Okay, I appreciate that.
What is the message to Tiefima Lopez?
He will surely see this.
What do you want to say to?
the man. Yeah, listen, we respect your decision. Fight or vacate. It's that simple. We don't need to
draw it out over the next 30 days. If you don't intend on fighting, that's absolutely fine. We'll move on
with our career. If you want to fight, let's get a deal done. In your heart, in your gut, what do you
think happens? He vacates. You think he vacates, huh? That would be a disappointment. And then who do you
fight? Yeah, we take the title and we look at a December day. We get straight to it. I want
I want to fight.
I want to fight everybody.
I want to fight Devin.
I want to fight Ryan.
I want to fight Tio.
Any of them guys can get it.
There's some talk of a Keishon Davis-Richerton Hitchens fight coming up.
Who do you like in that one?
Both of them as well.
I want to fight everybody.
All of them.
You just want to be active.
You want the big fights.
Just want to be active.
I'm feeling good.
I feel like I'm coming into my best years now.
I feel fit.
I feel strong.
Let's all just get it on.
I love it.
Well, I wish you the best.
I hope that doesn't happen because I would love to see the fight.
So for your sake, I hope.
He takes the fight and we get to see it and we see who's the better man and who's the official WBA Walterway champion.
Thanks for doing this, Jack.
I wish you all the best.
Thank you very much for your time.
God bless.
Thank you.
There he is.
Jack Cadro, Elgato, kind enough to join us on this Wednesday afternoon to talk about his situation.
It's a fascinating time at 147.
Yes, there are some talks of a Richardson Hitchens versus Kishon Davis fight being added to that Cardiff, December 11th date that people are talking about.
Is it in fact going to go down?
It seems like all signs are pointing to December 11th, Cardiff.
You know, I was talking to someone, and we've said this a couple times on the show.
Did Eddie win the battle but lose the war?
Will he eventually lose the war?
And it was presented to me, guys, that actually maybe that's not the case,
that because of the volatility and the sort of, what's the word, I should say,
the unpredictability surrounding Turkey O'S Shake,
in that like he kind of just goes back and forth,
that maybe it's not as personal as it might seem to us.
And, oh, by the way, there could be a thought to the executives at Netflix
that the fight is bigger now after all of this drama.
I know that there's a sense of like, golly, can you just end it?
But I do believe that once they finally announce this,
and I think an announcement is coming,
and I think it's going to be good news,
I do sort of feel like there's more heat attached to the fight.
And now that you add this element of,
look, it's way better in Cardiff, it's way better in the UK,
this is the right call, this was always the right call.
The fact that Eddie will be able to say, like, look,
I got this done, we got this done,
AJ got this done, you add the Eddie Dana element,
you add the TKO matchroom element,
I feel like the fight is bigger.
And so maybe there's a world where everyone comes to their senses
and says, in the end, all as well that ends well, no hard feelings.
Maybe he didn't lose the battle while winning the war.
I don't know.
Yeah, for sure.
These powerful people often do go, wow, I've seen the error of my ways.
All as well that ends well.
That always happens.
I think the only ones that will truly have their feelings hurt are the other side.
So in this case, the TKO side.
Right, the one that Turkey has an investment stake.
Yeah, but you know how he likes to, you know.
The one that his financial interests are tied to.
You haven't heard much about it at all. You haven't heard what?
Much from Turkey about all this at all.
Kind of interested, right, right?
With Dana and Tyson and Eddie, how much they've been speaking.
It feels like Turkey. It's been moms the word.
It's interesting because not that long ago he's putting out, you know, statements on the ring on his.
He hasn't said anything about this, actually.
No interviews, no tweets.
Unless I missed it.
Maybe I'm blocked or something like that.
I don't know.
But I haven't seen anything like that.
So you're right.
I don't know. It's going to be interesting to see how it plays out. I think the promotion is going to be great. I'm curious how it all plays out. I mean, the dream is Eddie and Dana are up there as well. They don't need it. Like, A.J. and Fury at a presser does not need Eddie and Dana. It's just a little. Can we get two separate presses? I was going to do that. But there's no way. Dana's not going to partake. He's not going to partake in this. You know he's not going to partake in it. Which other fight were we talking about where it was like, oh, O, you bank and Ben.
And yeah, it sounds great.
Eddie teaming with Eubank, Dana with Ben.
Crazy.
Dana wouldn't play that.
I don't think Dana has been in this lane for 25 years
where he doesn't have to play with any other promoter in the sandbox.
Why is he going to do it now?
But then who's up there on the dais?
Keith Connolly.
You know, he was up there on, you know.
But he's representing the fighter.
Who's representing the promotion?
The same thing.
The promotion.
I don't think Dana plays like that.
I would be surprised.
I would be very surprised.
It would be a hell of a spectacle.
Have we all calmed down over there about the...
Bro, we've moved on.
You keep bringing it up.
You've been coming.
I think you're still thinking about it.
I see you tweeting about it.
You had to throw something out there.
I saw you tweet about it.
We had to address it.
We can't just glaze over it.
No pun intended.
No, no, of course.
I just saw, you know, I just, things are happening.
These are happening.
I'm seeing things, you know, coming through the wire.
Guys, yesterday, Dana White was asked,
about Paulo Costa. He's been vocal about his situation on our show on social media. You guys talked
about it earlier in the week. Dana had yet to be asked about Paula Costa's situation. We talked to him
in July. We talked to him just a couple weeks ago. Here's what Dana White had to say about the state
of Paulo Costa's UFC career. And he said, I'm going to give three options. He said,
give me the last three-round fight. I'll take any opponent. Give me a five-round fight at light
heavyweight in six weeks, but I need a pay raise or release me from my contract. Just wanted
your thoughts on that. What do you think my thoughts are? What the fuck does that even mean?
I just wanted to know if we're going to see Paul O'Costa anytime soon. Like, you want to know
if Paul Ocosta what? If we're going to see him anytime soon, he seems like he's, I don't know if he's
frustrated or if he's... Oh, yeah, frustrated, yeah. He's been offered fights and turned him down and,
You know, we don't just say fuck Paul Ocosta and you're not going to get a fight and no, we're not going to pay you.
No, we're not going to do this.
Guys get offered three fights a year regularly.
Even guys that aren't fighting.
Like Tom Aspenall's eyes are messed.
He's getting offered fights.
You think Paul Acosta isn't getting offered fights?
Yeah.
Well, Paul Costa told us back in July that he was offered the short-notice fight against Mago Medan Kalayev.
And so one thing that the UFC has done in the past is they will offer fights.
and if you don't accept the fight, they might extend your contract.
They'll say, oh, you turn this fight down.
We're now extending you for six months.
But I don't think that's fair if it's a short notice fight.
Like that fight was like 12 days later or 13 days later.
That's not necessarily fair.
We don't know if they've offered him three.
Maybe that counts as two because he did fight back in April.
That would mean he would get one more.
But the thing that Paulo is saying is, if you're going to offer me a main event five-round fight,
I want to be paid more.
And if not, just give me a three-round fight.
Or just release me.
They're not going to release him.
We've said this from the beginning.
I just don't understand why they don't like, just chuck them on a card.
Just book them.
There's two PLEs left.
No, sorry.
Well, there's two that have yet to be fully booked.
There's four total numbered events.
There's two that are still nowhere near done.
MSG, November 14th, and then 335, December 20th.
12th, chuck him on one of those, chuck them on an apex card. Who cares? I don't know.
It seems like we're moving towards a divorce, but not that long ago. It was like three years ago,
he was saying the same stuff and they eventually re-signed him. So I don't know what to believe,
but Dana doesn't seem too impressed with all of it. Earlier in the day, we had Alexander Volkov
on, and that was an unexpectedly funny interview. I enjoyed it immensely. There's a clip that's
going around now of him talking about Josh Hokit and saying that, you know, he understands why
they gave him the title shot, because he's mentally challenged, this is what he said.
I believe he was saying it sort of tongue in cheek, ingest, wink, wink, nudge, nudge.
Anyway, Josh Hokit has seen this clip and he has responded on Twitter.
Maybe he should catch my, quote, mental illness, end quote, since he lost to the last two guys
I beat.
Has anyone ever watched a Volkov fight all the way through?
he's lucky to still be on the roster
should have cut his boring ass
when they cut Al-Meda
let's go
Volkov versus
Josh Hokka
who's in
anyone in?
I'm mad
Volkov versus
if Volkov can win his next fight
Volkov versus the winner
assuming Tom's not
not ready yet I'm totally down
Oh hey Pete how are you
What's going on?
Hey
with the soldier of rod earlier on
amazing
it's been a great day on the program.
Did you have it to catch?
What I don't understand is why did he have to go down?
Like I asked for the abs, that's on me, but why was it up and down?
I have to put it up a little bit of down, you know?
I was asking myself back here.
I got to be honest.
I was saying that.
It wasn't like, like, now are you saying you're mad he didn't?
I'll be showing off the trunk if we have one of them bad boys.
I'll be naked, man.
Wait, one of them bad boys what?
What are you talking about?
one of those
fucking whatever
the V
the little baby dog
it was something else
and then
soldier rod
he's writing things
in the chat
the chat is writing things
the chat was going nuts
they're done doing something
oh my god
you lost it you lost it
I was died
there was one point where you asked a question
you were laughing through it
you were like
so
uh huh
tarant Till
Like you were trying to ask you.
And so...
He does this one.
Potency's looking at something.
He's like, oh.
You're like, blood and piss?
Yeah.
Okay.
I was like, Andy, please do not show me.
I cannot be seen right now.
I had, I was the Michael Jordan meme.
It was all over my face.
Yeah.
No, no.
The tears were just everywhere.
The tears were just all over me.
Oh, my God.
Yeah, one of a kind, that guy.
I did see this clip, guys, before we get to On the Nose from Justin Gachey.
I guess he was on the Flagrant podcast.
Is it still called Flagrant, Andrew Schultz's podcast?
Flagrant 2?
I think it's called Flagrant, based on what we got over here.
I don't know what you're talking about.
Anyway.
Go see in a second.
Oh, really?
Which one?
Are we talking about the same clip?
Yeah, yeah.
Okay, I haven't seen it.
Should I not play this clip?
No, no, it's all good.
Is there going to be another rod on the show?
What's happening?
That's what makes it so flagrant.
All right.
Well, here's Justin Gachey talking about his fighting future with Andrew Schultz.
Everyone was like, you know, you fucking fight arm and I don't know what the fuck.
I have injuries.
I have to take care of.
I haven't made a decision.
But I am 37 years old.
My first five was 2008.
I've had 40 fights, including my amateur fights.
So I don't know.
I don't know.
So you might not go again?
Who knows?
Who knows?
Now, is this game?
I don't need to.
Is this game you're doing?
Like, is this how you get the big payday?
Be like, I don't know if I'm coming back.
This has never been about money for me.
Okay.
I was going to ask that question.
So good on Andrew for asking the follow-up.
Is this a negotiation tactic?
Is this just a ploy?
Because I have to admit, like, am I wrong for saying it's a little annoying now, no?
Like, bro, your three months post-victory.
you've never been more popular, you've never been more successful, you've never been in line.
What are you talking about? What are you talking about?
And you have the biggest fight ahead of you. Why are you walking away now?
No one believes you. No. So it's a game? It's definitely a game.
It's getting annoyed. I don't know. I don't know if it's a game, honestly. I think, as I said to the boys on Monday,
I think he had a whole kind of vision laid out at the start of the year. Patty, Tupori,
and then McGregor, McGregor, obviously, loses to Holloway. That disappears. And I think he's,
just kind of hanging around for the biggest possible fight he can get you know we changed his tune
pretty quickly on tepouria if you remember that was flipped as soon as tepore you started talking about
loading gloves so oh yeah no was that the fight he is after or what's the biggest fight he can possibly
get and we know the ufc where he hasn't put arm in that spot before that emphatic went over hoofy
i don't know um it could be a ploy but i do have a feeling like he just he wants the perfect send-off
it was probably the white house you probably won't get a better send-off than that but um i don't
I don't know if it's completely just a game, you know?
He's not walking away.
He's in perhaps the most glamorous division in the UFC.
A fight against Armin is gigantic.
A rematch against Ilya is gigantic.
A rematch against Patty is gigantic.
What are we talking about?
What are we talking about, honestly?
There's no way.
There's absolutely no way he's walking away.
I don't believe it for a second.
Also, he's a fight.
He's a fighter's fighter.
Like, there's just no chance.
There's no chance.
This is all a negotiation.
It sort of kind of screams of like someone telling him to do.
I don't know, but I'm not buying it for a second.
No.
Is the Jones treatment?
Is he doing the Jones post-Stepe kind of thing?
I don't even know if that.
Yes.
No.
What?
No, because Jones never came back after steepe.
Yeah.
Yeah, but he put out a number that was going to bring them back.
And they matched it.
And then they walked away.
He didn't.
Yeah, I mean, it could be a negotiation tactic like that,
but I think whatever they end up giving him, he will come back and fight for.
Oh, I see what you're saying.
that the result will be different than the Jones.
That I agree with.
He fights armets through who kidding.
He's going to fight.
Or Ilya.
One of those two.
How silly would it be to walk away from,
you finally get the biggest payday of your life and you walk away from it?
It makes no sense.
At the peak of your popularity, you were in front of so many eyes on that White House card
and then how viral the walkout reading the Declaration of Independence,
the absolute thumping he put on Elliott Teporia.
And now, like, everyone posting the pictures of like,
this is what Justin Gachie does to opponents.
And it's everyone completely beat to shit.
he has like the most watchability he's ever had.
I mean, he's one of the greatest UFC careers,
one of the most entertaining UFC careers.
But like right now, his next fight is when people are going to want to tune in most.
100%.
And it's not like these are like he's up against it.
These are two winnable fights.
He just beat I mean.
And Armin is a guy that I think he'd be very competitive with.
It would blow my mind if he walked away.
It makes no sense.
The same way I can't believe that John didn't take the fight with Tom.
Like that, that blew my mind.
I do see here something on the list about him throwing a football 60 yards.
I've not seen this clip, but let's watch it together.
Here he is.
Is this when he spoke to the University of Florida?
You sure is.
Yeah, okay.
So the caters to me.
Yep.
He's got a cannon on him.
Oh, yo.
Oh, my God.
That's not too bad.
He would be able to start for Atlanta there, Connor.
Oh, he usually going at the moment.
We'll take anybody, bro.
We're on the road to 117.
He looks.
He's walking away because he's got a.
contract lined up with the Falcons.
I've been trying to fight through it, but there is a pretty loud crackling in my ear anytime
you're hearing some crackling?
You guys speak?
Are you guys hearing it?
Because this feels like last week all over again where it's like, oh, no, Frank's saying,
just jiggle your wire.
It's all good.
It's a little bit weird that every time someone else speaks, I'm hearing it.
There is crackling.
We're also here.
Oh, you're all hearing it.
Yeah.
Okay.
So the update is Frank is working on it right.
now. Yeah, it's quite annoying. I'm not going to lie. So Frank, you're working on it? Can you give me a 30 second update, like intervals of 30 second?
Yeah, he'll have Jordan delivers. He's definitely going to do that while he... No, I needed to come from Frank himself.
No, that's...
Okay, well, let him know. It'll come via Frank via me. All right. For now. Does it, does it, does it happen when I speak?
It happens all the time. Oh, really? Because I don't hear it me. I'm only hearing it when you do it. Oh, it's brutal.
Sounds like a little bit of popcorn popping. It's nice.
Jesus.
Let's see.
Maybe the chat doesn't hear it.
Chat?
Do you guys hear it?
What are they saying?
What are they saying?
No crackle here except for Pizzi.
What are they saying?
That's what the C stands for.
Crackle.
Frank yesterday asking Ariel, why are you trying to reach the kids when Ariel is trying to hype his Snapchat is pretty funny.
Okay.
Take Ariel a post-in note with the up.
Oh, okay, take a post-in note to me for the...
update.
You guys, some say they hear it.
Some say they don't.
Update from Frank.
Yes.
He looks very confused.
Not sure why the crackling is happening.
Perfect.
It doesn't think it's happening on the stream, but he'll get back to us in another 30 seconds.
Some are saying, no,
some are saying, sounds plain.
One saying yes, I think, are messing with our truck.
Oh, this sounds all right.
Crackles gone.
Creckles gone?
Oh.
No crackle.
I don't know.
Cackle's gone, baby.
Crackle.
Well, let's not get crazy.
Let us look at what's going on over on Calci before we get to our subsheaping.
before we get to our substack and are on the nose.
And I do want to let you know very soon, very soon,
the uncrowned newsletter is coming.
It's probably coming in the next two weeks.
So sub-Arialhuawani.substack.com is where you can sub.
You'll get it Monday, Wednesday, Friday.
More information to come.
It will be everything that's happening in the world of uncrown,
but also a little combat news as well.
And it'll be coming right to your email inboxes.
It's absolutely free, and it's just a great way to catch up on everything that we're doing from the shows, the YouTube, the pods, the dot com, films, the announcements, you know, Amazon Fire and Vice TV. Check us out on Wednesdays on Amazon Fire TV, The Beat, Vice on Fridays for our best of show. So all that and more. Shout out to our sponsors. Shout out to Kalshi. Let's see what's happening. It's Raou Rosas Jr. against Hoani Barsellos.
I always have a tough time with that name.
Heoni.
Heyoni.
All right, what do we got?
59% for Mr. Raoul Rosas.
Five-fired win streak for Heone.
G.C., what was the other stat?
You told me something else that was very interesting.
Okay, I thought Darren Till versus U.O. Romero was the biggest age gap of the weekend.
16 years, 49 versus 33.
It's actually the main event of the UFC card.
Heone Barcell is 39 years old.
Raul Rosas, 21.
Oh, wow.
Crazy.
Wow.
18 years.
Marcel's had the big win over Peyton Talbot.
Yeah.
What was it?
Massive 100 dog.
A year and a half or so ago?
Five-fight win streak for the guy.
Not bad.
By the way, this was courtesy of our good friend Alan Murphy.
A reminder that Raul Rojas, well, he wrote Rojas, it's Rosas, Jr.
has one year and 257 days to break John Jones's record as youngest UFC champion in UFC history.
That final date is June 5th, 2028, Jones's record.
stands at 23 years, 242 days old.
Do you think he does it, guys?
I don't know.
June 5th, 2028?
Like, it's not the craziest thing.
It's not the craziest thing.
He's on like a 5-5 win streak right now as well.
Yeah.
It's really the craziest thing.
I don't think he's ready to become champion just yet, but...
Crazier things have happened.
In this sport?
Josh Van just became the second youngest,
so it's not like it's like impossible.
Imagine this time in 2024 coming off of Charles Johnson.
and icing Joshua Van
being like, yep, he's going to be champ.
The thing is, in that division, the path is
so much easier. In this division,
it's going to be hard.
Comain is Hidalpho Viera.
We say Komen. Does every card have a
Komen? This is not a Komen.
Every card is a Kov Kov.
The second to last fight. The second to last fight is
Hadova Viera against Robert
Brischek.
Why do you raise your voice
inflection at the end of the? I was just
wondering if I was saying it right.
That's in the line.
It was just, yeah.
Did I get it right?
Well, look at this.
Vieira, they were kind of equal, almost 50-50,
and now it's 58-42.
There it is.
Tremendous.
Let's see what else is happening.
Thursday night, it's the aforementioned Atlanta Falcons going up against
Casey O'Neill's Green Bay Packers.
Don't-Dun-N-N-N-N-A-N-A.
Moint be made there, J-C.
I think 30% is too high.
Too high.
This team's.
Thanks.
Is Pennix Jr.
Not back?
Don't ask me.
Do you know what I keep thinking of?
Yes.
Poor Mark Romondi.
I mean, how do you cover a team like this right now?
He's the thing.
I've been watching.
I've been watching us still closely.
It's tough.
What'd you got?
What'd you say there?
He's looking a little haggardly.
He's got a beard growing out.
No, he's looking great.
Lettuce is growing.
I mean, God.
The lettuce is.
Hopefully Mark isn't watching.
Yeah.
He's the nicest guy.
Mark, you look like shit.
It's this guy in the world.
You look as.
He's already.
I think he's already dreading the falcon season.
What's there to dread? He's going to cover a shit team.
We're going to get a high draft pick.
When we get Arch Manning, everyone's going to be back in.
Oh, shit.
Yeah, that'll be pretty cool.
By the way, King Casey's about to be two and a old.
You're not going to the Dolphins though.
Yeah, that's right. A win over you and a win over Jesus.
Of course, everyone very high on the bills of Buffalo.
Let's take a look at where Josh Allen stands as MVP.
Yeah, you know yourself.
28%. Is he the leader right now?
Oh, yeah.
Joe Burroughs, number two?
Nice big bump.
You know, it's a sneaky one.
Porty.
Porty.
Brock.
I love the way you say, Purdy.
They have perfect games in the NFL.
Isn't that a baseball thing?
Okay, wow.
100%.
Yeah, 158.1 or something?
Wow.
0.3.
158.
Is the top, isn't it?
Who's the check?
Who's the check?
International break in the other football.
There's no Premier League.
Everyone's out representing their home nations.
Canada, Chile.
Let's see what they're saying.
That's a big one.
60% Canada.
Had some great teams back in the day.
Zamorano and the boys.
No, we're some kind of force now on the international scene.
USA Peru.
Will USA keep the good vibes going?
67%.
Remember the great Alvaro Ricoba for Peru back in the day?
Oh no, he's Uruguay.
Sorry, forget that.
Close.
Are there good vibes around you?
I don't know.
We got stomped out to leave the World Cup.
Don't worry about red cards, though.
That's pretty cool.
Yeah, that's true.
Still, when you actually think about what happened there, it's really quite absurd.
I was getting on a flight to...
Oh, we were going somewhere for work.
Did think?
Oh, Las Vegas.
I was getting on a flight to Las Vegas.
And I got on the flight, before the game started, I couldn't have been more excited
by the time I got on the flight.
I was just like, who gives the fuck about the World Cup?
It was an insane 24.
to 36 hours.
Speaking of international friendlies,
Pizzi, let's take a look at Ireland, Israel.
No, I'm kidding. We'll stay away from that one.
Pizzi's heart just dropped.
VMA Best album, what are they saying?
Oh shit.
Madonna is in the running.
Yo, your boy's not out of it. Drake's on there.
Oh, Drake's hanging on.
Madonna has a new album?
And it's second on the odds for being the best?
Is it the greatest hits? Is it a great thing?
MTV still does the video.
music awards? That might be the biggest shock
of the mall. Isn't that where
MGK and Connor
had their thing? I think so.
Wasn't it on the red carpet? Wasn't it the met? I have
absolutely no clue. I don't even know why
acted like I had any.
You do remember this, right? Yeah, yeah, the pink
suit and everything.
MGK has doubled down, in fact,
since then. MTV Awards is the
astronaut, yeah?
Astronaut with the popcorn?
Or is that, no, that might be the movie.
It's the flag. It's the flag.
You kids don't remember.
You'll never know what it was like to come home from school.
Pop on TRL, Carson Daily.
Did I tell you about this?
It was the winter of 2001.
And there I was, no, at its peak, there was nothing better.
MTV spring break.
You just sit there.
We just sit there watching videos all this.
So good.
And you were kind of like, there was one you had your eye on and you're like, are they going to play it?
And then you'd.
Obviously, Destiny's Joel.
You'd go over to be.
ET, and they're playing it, and then you come back.
At least that's, you know, how I rolled.
What about Oscar's Best Picture?
What are they saying?
What is that?
That's how you rolled.
The Odyssey, 54%, Blackball, Dune.
That didn't come out yet.
Two or three isn't out yet, but a 9%, that's not a bad shout.
That's not a bad show.
Can I tell you my sleeper?
Can I tell you my, my underdog pick, my sleeper pick?
That's going to be shit, sheep detective.
No, it's...
No, that's from last year.
No, that's this year.
It is?
It was May. Of course.
Watched it right before the next beat the Cavs in game four.
What a great film.
Plus or minus.
Where do you guys think it falls?
I'll show you everything.
Oh, you're talking Nathan Fielder!
I think it might get it.
Did you see the trailer?
It's not going to win best picture.
Did you see the extended trailer?
I haven't watched the trailer.
I need to.
I need to.
It's best documentary features, isn't there?
It's going to be incredible.
I'm all in.
Is it fiction or nonfiction in the film?
It's a duck.
Yeah, it's non-fiction.
Is it a doc, though?
It's a doc.
It's like...
You're going to be asking that the entire time.
The Blair Witch Project.
No, it's like the Blair Witch Project at all.
It's a documentary made by Nathan Fielder.
Can we go back to Ariel flexing on that he switched over to watch BT?
What?
That's just how he rolled.
Yeah.
My man.
All right, hold on.
What's the big deal?
This inspired the role, guys.
Some of the shocking moments so far have inspired me.
G.C., we got a blind rank it for you.
Ready?
Oh.
Most unexpected moments on today's show.
You ready?
Wait, where's this coming from?
We're doing on the nose?
I'm just doing a blank ranking right now.
Today's pretty clear show.
Ready?
Okay.
Rosas versus Barcellos age.
Yeah.
It's pretty good.
He brought that stuff.
He brought that stuff.
Madonna.
Yes.
Being featured on the MTV VMAs.
Number two.
Three.
On couch.
Yeah.
That was crazy.
That the VMAs even exist.
Five.
Volkov bring in the heat to Josh Hokka.
Yeah.
That actually should be my five because I had faith.
in Volkov all day, but two.
And then the Soldier of Rod.
Yeah.
The Cuban, what is it?
The Cuban Missile Crisis.
Yuel Meat Romero.
He needs to change his name from...
He needs to pull a Johnny Meat type thing.
I stand with Pizzi.
If you got it, flaunt it, right?
Nip.
Me constantly just completely naked.
Yeah, when we say it, what are we talking about?
All of it.
In certain terms.
That is what it is.
Use your imagination.
Gentlemen, a couple of weeks ago, we were all going...
I didn't have to imagine much.
It was pretty much out there.
A couple weeks ago, we were all going crazy.
You remember, of course, the collab between my dear Patrick Ewing and Rick Flair, we were all going...
How did this happen?
You remember this.
Ptie, do you remember this?
Ewing Flares.
I talked about them.
They were random people.
The pick joints.
They're striking.
Striking.
Some way, somehow, they have topped it with a collab between Patrick Ewing and the match.
show men.
Ooh, yeah.
Look at these joints.
Where is this coming from?
Why don't you have these shoes?
Where is this coming from?
The macho man, Randy Savage, Patrick Ewing, collab?
What world am I living in?
Look at the glasses.
Look at the glasses.
Yeah.
Dig it.
Macho man.
Yeah.
Look at this.
This is amazing.
Yeah, you guys got to admit.
You mock the Rick Flares.
All right.
Unmockable.
These are actually somewhat okay looking.
They're creative until you put them on.
You walk in with those on.
You imagine I'm a toddler.
If I look down at your ankles and I see macho man Randy Savage glasses staring back at me, I'm clowning your ass.
No doubt.
Point for a toddler, though.
If a toddler was wearing them, you'd be like, oh.
Okay, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Toddler can wear anything.
They can wear Velcro shoes and get away with it.
I'm all in.
Pull up in those.
Please get them and just show up to the last football game.
Hold up in those.
I dare you.
I just want to know where is this coming from.
Like, A, why are Ewing's being sold 25 years after his retirement?
A.
B, why are they collaborating with pro wrestlers?
And C, why do I love it so much?
It makes perfect sense.
And how do I get them to sponsor this program?
Can I get some of these on the desk?
All of us decked out in Ewing Flares?
Yo, could you imagine?
There's only one guy who's wearing them.
Ewing's were iconic in the 90s.
I want to rock my tides pair of skinny jeans with the Ewing Flares.
The fat tongue.
Yeah.
Oh, tremendous.
Fine.
Gentlemen, time now for everyone's favorite segment of the week.
It is time.
It's time for all right, let's do this.
Serial gain up first.
Hi, friends.
Hey, Ariel, have you ever banned anyone from on the nose
due to ridiculous, offensive, or inappropriate questions?
I don't believe so, but El-Emanuel is wielding that big stick,
so you'd have to ask him.
Sorry, what?
Come on, man.
Sorry, you did that on purpose.
We're still thinking about the YOL interview.
What?
What's like, no.
What are you doing with your hand there?
We went from the wrong bar to do with our warriors.
Are you guys crazy?
What are you doing?
You need to get your mind out of the gutter.
What are you talking about?
It's like the cops with the...
Oh, man.
Oh, man.
Port Rush Chris.
Hi, Ariel and BITB.
Really enjoyed the game of musical chairs.
Scott and Rich played last week.
Do you guys remember that?
Sit here.
No, no.
You sit here.
here because our lower thirds have
Rich's name on the left, Scott
on the right. My question is, who would you guys
like to play a game of musical
chairs with?
This is what Al-Emmanuel
chose as the second question. Nobody. Absolutely
nobody. Anybody wants to play musical chairs
I'm telling them to get fucked. Yeah, all right.
Especially if there's no, like, prize on the line.
Our second...
Absolutely. Well, actually, our third
question. The other one didn't really feel like a question.
The gentleman
asks me to ask Andy how to pronounce his name. It's J-A-I-R-O. I'm going to guess
Yairo? J-A-I-R-O? Yeah. J-A-I-R-O? Yeah. J-A-R-O, okay. Haido Martinez. And then he said,
Ask Andy how to pronounce my name. You know what I love when I chat with a Spanish-speaking person,
and they don't say ha-ha-ha-ha, they say ja-j-j-------------------------------. Do you do you do that?
That's a text and thing, though.
I'm doing it right now.
What?
I'm doing it right now.
During the show?
Yeah.
No, but that's a thing, right?
Is that like a specific country thing?
I'm Brazil, do Kaka, Kaka, K.A, K.A, K.A, K.A, K.A, K.A.
And then Russians do open bracket, open bracket, open bracket, open bracket, open bracket.
Do they?
Yeah.
You never knew that?
You never knew that.
Never knew what that meant.
You guys, I'm getting nothing from G.C.
Um, what is that? He says, is there a plan for a live show on or around the MSG card?
At the moment, no.
Kevin says, hey, Ariel, does the Uncrown Beat Work in Ireland?
Actually, I saw this question last night, and I did inquire.
And unfortunately, it's U.S. only.
I only found out about this this morning.
So can you get like one of those illegal fire sticks and watch it?
All right.
So once you're on your illegal fire sticks,
Fire stick.
Guys, come on.
Go to the sports section.
Come on.
Go to the right.
Go to the right to Canal Street.
That'll take you into the secret portal section.
Then you're going to scroll down three and then you'll be able to find this week's beat.
It can be viewed in Ireland.
It can be.
We can't get into how it can be viewed, but it can be.
Okay.
All right.
So go ahead and watch.
Jimmer is named Jimmer.
Yo boys in the back, it's Jimmer.
Long time caller.
Obviously.
First time question.
Yes.
With oblique kicks, potentially being banned by the CSAC.
Yes, it's become a thing, huh?
Dana White getting behind it as well.
Do you think that each commission will handle that separately?
We will have another situation like we have with the downed opponent
where each commission is forcing the rules differently.
A lot, I hope not.
Now, Andy Foster has a lot of, you know, influence.
He's part of the ABC Rules Commission committee and whatnot.
And so usually when he is like steering his ship, he tends to get everyone on board.
But yes, I would not be in favor.
Are you guys in favor with oblique kicks being banned?
No. No.
I'm thinking about like fighters who used them a lot as well.
Like Ian Gary uses them a lot.
Like they're a big part of his arsenal.
Like that's a huge shift if you're suddenly like,
oh yeah, one of your weapons you can't use it anymore.
This sports objective is to hurt each other.
I'm for going the other way.
Open everything up.
Also, can I ask you?
Headboats back.
Oblique.
Sure. The oblique.
Where is the oblique?
Because my interpretation of the oblique is like here.
Like we saw it's not oblique.
in this scenario is the flex of it, the angle that is being forced upon, not the part of the body.
Not the part of the body, yes. It's a confusing one. No. Okay. Anyway, he says, will we have an, okay. Also, if we're banning oblique kicks because they may cause career altering injuries, why don't we ban knee bars and leg locks as well?
It's when we bond punched in the head. Yeah, career alter and injuries. Love the show, rooting for your bills this year. And as always, as always,
is let's go Nix.
Yeah, I agree.
Now, nothing has happened just yet, but there's some talk from Andy Foster.
By the way, shout out to Andy.
Once again, they held a post-331 meeting.
Media was invited.
I know Aaron Bronstetter was there.
He was tweeting about it, talking about scorecards.
Like, this transparency is so refreshing.
Imagine we got this after every card.
And he's out there saying, hey, Ron McCarthy, I don't agree with your scorecard.
you had at 50 to 45 in the main event.
Like, this is exactly what we need.
Stevie B.
Hello, you beautiful bunch.
I'm curious as to what your thoughts
are on the art of the callout.
I feel like a lot of the fighters are saying
they'll fight everyone and anyone more these days.
While that is admirable,
I believe it's far more exciting
when they have a specific opponent in mind.
Love to hear your thoughts.
I mean, yeah, it's always great.
Casey O'Neill wins.
She calls out Macy Barber.
Now we have something to chew on.
Other fighters are like,
I'm down for whatever.
You know, sometimes I really enjoy
when it's like a Sean King and he calls someone out.
And it's like these sort of up-and-coming rivalries
and mid-card rivalries and then the main event rivalries.
And so, yes, I enjoy when someone has it.
But I also feel like it's someone has something in mind.
I also feel like it's somewhat unfair
when we sit here on Monday
and criticize someone who's just been in a 25-minute fight
or a 15-minute fight and you're like,
why did you call someone out?
He just got punched in the head for 15 minutes.
You know, it's great,
but I also think that sometimes it's a little unfair
to be like question one, question two, what's next?
Well, I think we usually criticize when they just have a stupid call out, though?
Like when it's like, ah, you did it, but you just, what did you call for that?
You wasted it.
There was one recently where I was like, this ain't happening.
I don't remember which one it was.
Yeah, that's like...
Was it Pippel and John Silva?
No, but I know what you mean.
That probably isn't happening, right?
That one to me is not egregious.
it's maybe like one notch below.
Yeah, it's not when everybody like, you know,
the third fight of the night is like,
Connor McGregor, like back in the day.
That happened for a literal decade.
Yeah, that happened for so long.
Every time.
Yeah, I was actually more surprised
at the Brazil on Brazil callout.
Yeah.
He's not going to get that fight,
but I don't think that's like a ha, ha, ha, ha.
How could he think he was going to even get that?
Katan, since active fighters are competing in RAF
or doing more BJJ matches,
Is this giving opponents a better chance at fighting them as there's more tape on them?
Peace and love.
I don't think so.
Different skills, yeah.
Steven Segal Sensei, Tuvasas fans doing the shooies before his fight.
Afterwards, they're sad with a wet foot.
Does anyone do it before the fight?
Yeah, some lads did on the broadcast last time.
Oh, I.
They liked a few shiwis into them.
Oh, that's right.
That's right.
Even more sad.
Challenge for the boys in the back.
Name one fighter in the modern UFC era who reached a top five.
rank who is less skilled than Tai Tui Vasa.
No, that's disrespectful. I don't want to do that.
Irish lad. Hi, hi Ariel and crew. Are you buying or selling on the following?
Jones fights again in the UFC.
Selling. Selling.
Justin Gachie vacates the title, fights Connor McGregor next summer.
Selling.
Selling.
Volk goes 0 and 2 in the next year to Mofsar.
Selling.
Selling.
What about Patricia picking Moffsar?
Islam loses the title before the end of 27.
I'm going to buy.
I might buy too, because y'all are buying.
I'm going to sell.
All right.
Van is pound for pound number one by the end of 27.
If Islam loses, the runway is right there, so I would buy that too, potentially.
Nunes Harrison double retirement at the end of the fight.
I don't know if we get it right away, but I think there's a very good chance.
Yeah, I'm buying.
Valentina's next fight is for the back.
Phantomweight title.
Sell.
Yeah.
I agree with that as well.
But if that fight,
and it was a double retirement,
I mean,
Valentina's just been kind of ousted from Floyd,
it's not ridiculous, is it?
Valentina versus Jocelyn Edwards?
Hell yeah.
It's not ridiculous,
but why not just come back to Flyweight?
Could you imagine if we actually get Valentina
versus Wang Tong for the championship,
but Wang is the...
Champion.
Yeah.
Oh, my God.
You remember when I asked Valentina about her
and she, like, completely dismissed it?
She does not like her.
Yeah.
And how?
Could happen.
Could happen.
Any chap from Valentania?
She's sort of in the mountains.
She has responded, and we're trying to figure it out just a very remote area, I think, of her home country.
Here's oil beef hooked who says, hey, Ariel, question for Pizzi.
In regards to Irish MMA up-and-comers, who would you suggest has the highest ceiling in your eyes or who you are keeping an eye on out of the following?
Jason McCourtney, still in the amateur circuit, but three wins by finish in the first round.
Adam Duffy, Richie Ivory Academy, but he's only 17.
Billy Sutherland, two and O, but both have been by TKO.
Now, be honest with us, PT.
Have you heard of these three gentlemen?
No, no.
No, no idea.
All right.
I feel like 2015 PT is writing, you know, 1,800-word pieces on these guys.
No, it never really, the amateur scene only kind of developed since the formation of Oyamaf.
It was there, but it was kind of melded with the pro scene.
since IMAF came along it's a whole different thing
I've never really covered it closely
in terms of pros on the way up it's actually harder to
I used to really have a good idea who was the best guy
coming out of Europe or coming out Ireland or different countries
but actually Dana White's Contender Series has kind of
changed how the regional scenes work in terms of
it's about getting the Contender Series and creating people
with these beautiful pristine records
they don't seem to be forged in combat the way they used to
be like the best was constantly fighting the best.
You become the champion of the likes of Cage Warriors, Obama,
and from there you go to the UFC.
Now it's more like who can keep the cleanest record
to get the call up to contender series.
So you're kind of, you're getting,
I find that I have less of a feel
and how good people are now than ever before.
But I think Max Lally is certainly a really good fighter.
Dominicus Narcos from,
Norcas from Chris Fields, Jim is really, really good too.
and Adam Darby's just been signed from Contender Series.
There is really, really good fighters in Ireland still.
It's just harder to get a gauge on how good there.
No interest in the amateur scene at all, to be honest.
All right.
Appreciate that.
Guys, yesterday, as an aside,
we talked about John Martin's sudden departure from PFL slash MVP.
We did say that there has been no official announcement
from the PFL, from MVP,
nothing from Nikisa Baderian,
or anyone involved in the company.
I can't tell you that I did receive two internal emails
that were sent at around the same time as the announcement.
And so I think they're kind of interesting
because it's like the actual only real thing that we have.
And so I wanted to read these.
The first actually comes from John himself to the team.
Team, I'm writing to share an important leadership update.
I'll be stepping down as CEO of MVP slash PFL effective immediately and leaving the company and
Akisa Badarian will become chief executive officer of the newly combined company.
So remember yesterday we were speculating because there was no real info.
Now we know he is the CEO.
I'm leaving with tremendous confidence in where this company is headed.
Akisa built and led MVP as its co-founder and CEO and he and I work closely together to bring
PFL and MVP together.
While I initially took on the CEO role for the combined company as we completed the transaction
and began bringing the organizations together.
became clear to me that this next phase will be best served by having one singular leader with a clear vision and point of accountability.
Given a Kese's history of the MVP, his role in bringing these companies together and his deep understanding of our businesses, he is the best person to lead this next chapter.
The company is in strong hands with him and the leadership team we have here.
In the year that I served as the PFL CEO, I'm proud of what we've accomplished together.
We raised important new capital, evolved our format from tournaments to putting the best
fighters against the best signed more than 70 world class athletes from around the globe and
continue to innovate with industry first events and partnerships like Risen.
More importantly, we listened to our fans and we worked hard to make our product better.
And we're seeing the results in the U.S. average viewing time increased 45% during the summer
series compared with the beginning of the year.
International viewing is up 79% year over year and ticket sales for U.S. arena events have
grown 59% year over year.
And of course, we completed the merger with MVP, creating what I believe is an extraordinary opportunity to build something truly differentiated in combat sports.
I leave knowing that the company is in a much stronger position than ever and with enormous confidence in what comes next.
I want to thank every one of you for your hard work commitment and belief over the past year.
None of what we accomplished would have happened without this team.
I also want to thank our board for its partnership and support.
It has been privileged to leave this company and working alongside all of you.
I may be stepping away as CEO, but I remain in a CEO.
but I remain an enormous believer in this company
and what it can become
as someone who has had the opportunity
to help shape its future
and as a fan of the sport,
I couldn't be more excited to see
when Nikisa Jake, the board,
and this team build from here,
I'll be rooting for all of you, John.
So the big takeaway is
Nikisa is the CEO of the company
and John is saying to the company
that he decided to take a step down
because he feels like there should be
one singular CEO.
Nikisa then sent a follow-up email
following that one.
Team, I want to thank John for his leadership and everything he has done to help get us to this point.
I've had the opportunity to work closely with John throughout this process of bringing MVP and PFL together,
and I have tremendous respect for what he has accomplished.
When Jake and I, for what him and what he has accomplished,
when Jake and I founded MVP five years ago,
we believe there was a better way to build a combat sports company.
One that puts athletes and fans first,
creates differentiated opportunities and equitable economics for fighters,
elevates women's boxing and brings new audiences into the sport.
We've never been afraid to challenge the traditional model.
That includes our commitment to women's boxing,
where we have invested the best female fighters in the world,
put women in the main events on the biggest stages
and build MVPW into a core pillar of our business.
That commitment will only grow from here.
Bringing MVP and PFL together gives us the opportunity to apply that same approach
at a much greater scale across boxing and MMA.
By combining MVP's audience-building engine,
storytelling capabilities, brand and leadership position in women's combat sports
with PFL's roster, infrastructure, and international footprint,
we have the opportunity to be the global home for combat sports.
I'm also excited to announce that Lenny Daniels is taking on the role of president,
reporting directly to me.
In the coming days, Lenny and I will be finalizing the go-forward organizational structure
to ensure we are appropriately positioned to achieve our full potential.
I want to thank the rest of our ownership group for their confidence and support,
Jake, for being an incredible co-founder and partner,
and all of you for the work that has gotten us here.
We have a tremendous opportunity ahead of us that I'm confident we will capture.
I'm looking forward to building what comes next.
So the big news there is that Lenny Daniels, who came over as a John Martin hire from his days at Time Warner is now the president of MVP.
So there was some thought that some of the John Martin associates, if you will, or hires would leave.
This would be a big one who is staying.
That's pretty much what we have now.
That's pretty much where we're at.
I'm sure much more is to come.
And again, the clock is ticking.
The clock is ticking.
The clock is ticking.
They need to get a TV deal of some kind
before the end of this year.
There's no doubt about that.
Well, more amicable than we taught, though, right?
Like, based on that.
At least publicly.
Me.
Yes.
I was thinking it looked a bit bad.
But that seems far more positive.
Going back to the questions now,
here is Jordan who says,
Ali's saying he will personally pay for Umar's purse
if he debuts against Ilya,
obviously a PR thing.
Thank you for noting that.
Again, we talk about like callouts
that you know will never happen.
Ali's sitting up there being to submission radio,
I'll pay the million dollars like he's some big shot,
knowing full well that would never happen.
I'm about Usman, right?
Did he talk about, yeah, he talked about Usman.
Why did he write Umar here?
Yes, it was about Usman fighting Ilya.
Still, nevertheless, nonsense.
But looking at the rankings, realistically,
what is a good debut for, he writes Umar again,
but it's Usman.
Thank you for that PTA.
I honestly think he'd really struggle with seven out of the eight of the top ten.
Saladin, Pernas.
God, that would be amazing.
But didn't we all say, or didn't you guys say you didn't like that one?
I don't.
I think, no, you said something else, didn't you?
You had something else in mind.
I mean, I love the fight.
I just out there.
What did I say?
Didn't I say, Parnas?
Did you not say Gaichi?
Me?
You said something.
Title fight off the bat.
Someone said title fight off the bad, and I just can't happen.
It ain't.
It was Ariel.
It was that.
It ain't me.
Was that Ariel that said that?
I don't think so.
Yeah, 100%.
Quill and Sal killed?
Don't hate it.
Put him in against an old guard.
Let him style a little bit.
Exactly what you do with Parnas.
You bring them in against Dan Hooker.
You make them look like a million bucks.
Yeah.
I know, but who at this point in the rankings?
Can I have a lot?
Let's see.
Yeah, sure.
Benil Dary.
Sure.
I mean, that one.
Winner of Moikano Nolan.
Moikano would be perfect.
What about, what about?
I got it.
Fiziv.
Yeah, perfect.
That's a great one.
That's a great fight and it's perfect for him to show his skills.
Get him a top 15 fight.
Yeah.
Exciting.
Fun.
Marcus says, how do Iriel and crew?
My question is for New York Rick.
First, condolences on your boy Gable.
Second, you have stated or played devil's advocate wondering whether the flywights could
ever be cared about or revered as highly as heavier weight classes.
Do you think the same thing for bantam weight because the show in the past has talked about
how bantam weight is in talks for best weight class?
True.
One of the best stars, we can agree.
is sugar and I was going to say Josh Fan is much more authentic and has more swag than Sean's
character slash persona. People love Sean. No, the cutoff seems to be around the 35 mark in boxing
in in in, uh, in, uh, in, uh, MMA. 35 seems to be the tipping point. So no, I do not feel
the same about bantam weight. Flyweight just doesn't people don't, that number, that 125 number
just makes people go, hmm, do I wish it wasn't?
true, I wish it wasn't true. It's my favorite. I feel like it's getting less and less.
I don't. You don't? You don't? PTO? With the floyd weights? Or I think there's someone like Van can
completely change it, like, just basing it. I don't feel like it's as much of a like an eye roll thing.
I don't, I don't think they'll ever be the stars of a, of a, you know, a 155 or a two,
uh, heavyweight. But I do think it's growing now where people aren't as, yeah, eye-roly about it.
I feel that one.
I think that was because the narrative that was out there.
We're talking about shutting down the division.
We're only talking about this on Monday.
Like, we traded Demetrius Johnson.
Like, there was a whole narrative going on about how he wasn't getting the pay-per-view money he deserved.
You know, people just didn't seem blown away by his performance.
Weren't giving him massive spots that people thought he deserved.
And there was, in the aftermath of DJ, it was like shutting down the division.
That puts something out into the world.
And we've seen people pick up on these things.
when someone when the head of snake
when Dana White saying this kind of stuff
they will pick up on it so I think that had a massive
massive contribution to all that talk too
but consider
what van is already doing and where
it falls in the rank in
the shot sheet of like what's going on
in the sport that he's putting up
historic numbers putting up a fight of the year
contender every single time out
and Armin Seru Kyi and will still grab a headline
over him Gable Steve's and losing will still
grab a headline over him there's just something
about that weight class that people
can't grab onto.
I think Josh Van can do wonders for it.
I think if he continues to win, he will
be able to elevate it and elevated and
elevate it, but there is something to that.
It's not artificial. There is something
to the smaller weight class that people just
can't get over.
If Joshua Van was doing the same thing in any division,
the same way Ilya did at 45,
people would be like, oh my God, this is the greatest
thing ever. And it just, it isn't
that.
Let the lie cook. Let the lie.
I want to.
him. Flyweight is my favorite
division. It's just reality,
unfortunately. And now
it is time for everyone's
real favorite segment of the week.
The blind
ranking segment. This
comes from Jason Tackman, my great friend.
Unk, asked GC
to blind rank these heartbreaking
Georgia-based sports
losses. Oh, yeah. Number one is
the worst. Braves
18 inning, game four lost to
Houston in 2005 to eliminate them from the playoffs. Now, true or false, you remember this game.
This is like vague, very like 11 at the time. Okay. Memory? We'll go five.
TWA 2018 OT walkoff in the title game. Yeah. This is two because it was less than 365 days
after the 28 to 3. Okay, this might be a tough one for you. Braves choking a 2-0 lead in
1996 World Series losing three straight at home. You were not born, right?
I was two at the time.
Okay.
So that should be five but four.
2012
SEC title game,
clock running out on the final drive
in the red zone to
lose to Bamma.
By the way, he is not
looking any of these up.
He is a walking, talking sports encyclopedia.
So just so you know, this is all from the dome.
What do you say?
Yeah, absolute heartbreak.
I mean, we're driving down the field.
If we had won the game against Alabama,
we go on to play Notre Dame
in the national championship,
who, you know,
Obama won like 44 to 3.
That was a 3.
Yeah, don't catch the ball, man.
Catches the ball, time expires.
It's terrible.
28 to 3.
It's got to be 1.
I was recounting it with someone recently and just how terrible it really was.
How heart ripped out of the chest in downtown Atlanta at the time.
Did you start celebrating?
Oh, my God, yeah.
Are you kidding me?
I was at an all-you-can-drink bar.
They're passing around pictures of beers.
We're smoking cigarettes inside and everything.
We're planning where we're going to go.
burn the city down afterward.
Yeah, how could you not celebrate?
You have 28 to 3 in the third quarter.
It's terrible.
As an aside, here's peace and love, peace and love.
Hello, all, could we put a cap on the amount of blind rank questions?
I get that some people like them, but it really adds nothing to on the nose.
Like, who cares about G.C.'s least favorite ways of pronouncing five random names or questions about Georgia losses.
Yeah.
A lot of people.
It's literally the highlight of my week.
Oh, unfortunately.
any of his note is GC
had an 1,000-yard stare
as you relayed each one of those
things, just like staring off into the... I mean, he didn't even
list some of them. Like, when we were the number one
seed in the Eastern Conference
swept out of the Eastern Conference
finals by the Cavs. I mean,
he didn't mention 2012 Falcons, up 17
nothing in the NFC Championship, blew that
one as well. I mean,
the Braves making the wild card, the
infield fly rule in 2012.
2012 was a rough year, no, I think
back on it. Yeah, there's been many
heartbreak, but
seeing back-to-back
titles for the dogs,
the World Series for the Braves,
I'm all good.
Mr. New York, Rick,
can you please
blind rank this from T.J.
These New York City foods.
Sure.
New York cheesecake.
Four.
New York locks and bagel.
One.
Pastrami on rye.
Five.
New York pizza.
Two.
Bacon egg and cheese.
Three, perfect.
Nailed it?
Absolutely perfect.
Have you ever done the bacon egg and cheese with the hash brown in the sandwich?
I've had that.
By the way, I'm more of a sausage egg and cheese.
Okay.
Are you a Brunson egg and cheese guy?
Remind me of what that is.
Hold the dick and balls?
Don't put the balls.
I know Y'O.L. ain't holding the dick and balls.
I thought I misharage is there.
I was like, no, no.
Brunson egg and cheese, hold the dick and balls.
I don't get that part.
Come on, man.
You were there for it all.
You have to get it.
All right.
I'm actually, I'm a bit of a freak.
I may bacon and egg.
No cheese?
And then I put scalyne cream cheese on the side and put it on each bite.
It's so weird.
I don't know.
I feel like that would repeat on me?
By the way, is Brunson S&L this weekend?
Yeah.
Can't wait.
Yo, wait.
What kind of bagel?
Egg.
Everything bagel.
Egg is crazy.
You guys don't do black Russian.
First of all, you said yesterday no crazy shit like black Russian.
Now you're saying black Russian.
Now, egg is an elite bagel.
Is this a thing?
in Ireland, Pizzi?
Blackcrescent bagels?
No, like, bagel,
egg and cheese, like, you don't,
they don't have delis like that.
Oh, you guys do the chicken fillet, right?
You have breakfast rolls.
I had a McMuffin with pizza in...
That's right.
What, at McDonald?
Service station in the middle of nowhere.
You guys put chips between, like,
in the middle of, like, two pieces of white bread.
Now, is that a French fry, or is that a...
No, like, crisps.
Crisp, sorry.
Crisps.
G.C., please blind rank these five games.
gaming consoles.
PS2.
Fuck, absolutely.
Two.
Was he even born when the PS2 was out?
No, Wii.
Said Wii, four.
Xbox 360.
Oh, legendary.
Fuck.
Three.
GameCube.
One.
Sega FMA.
Five.
No way he's born.
Absolutely nailed it.
Okay, this is a good one from Kanaka.
Aloha Ariel in cohorts.
Yeah.
G.C. as the resident bachelor,
please blind rank these five ways to meet a potential romantic
partner.
Yeah.
Swiping right on a dating app.
Five.
An introduction through mutual friends.
One.
That's as good as a guess.
Approaching her at a bar.
Four just because of the...
That's one.
The potential of failure there is higher.
Yeah, but I feel like...
It's easy.
Yeah.
No, no, not that it's easy, but I feel like you're swinging and you hit the home run,
as opposed to someone doing the work for you.
If it works out for sure, yeah.
A speed dating event.
Fuck, six.
Have you ever done?
I'll never go to a speed date.
Have you ever done it?
Fuck no.
What we're doing?
That actually sounds brilliant.
I miss the whole long.
Yeah, it sounds brilliant until you get there and you're just like, oh, I see why all these people are at a speed dating event.
And then you start questioning yourself.
You're like, why am I here while these people?
And then they're just like, yeah, you're here for a reason.
What did you say?
You missed what?
I missed all this shit, like.
I always tell a line even.
I'm always like, I wish I could do Tinder.
I wish I could just, you know.
I wish I was just balls deep in it, Elaine.
Yeah, she was trying to go.
some strange.
When the boys are single,
give us your phone,
let me go.
Oh, yeah.
I'm sure Elaine loves all this.
I wish I was a Tinder,
Elaine.
Last one.
A reality TV show like Love Island
are married at first sight.
Yeah, again,
not for me.
Not for me.
That would be full.
I like,
out of all these,
it's the bar and a mutual friend.
And then everything else is off the list.
Or just like casually meeting them somewhere.
Right.
Whether it's at like an event
or just something like that.
In person.
There's no greater plays in favor,
much stronger than dating after dating.
Okay, PT from Kenny,
please blind rank these five tourist activities
in order of which you personally enjoy most
if a mate visited you and insisted on doing them.
I'm assuming this is in Ireland.
So a person's coming to me and saying,
you have to do this shit.
Okay.
Visiting the cliffs of Moher.
I'd like to do that.
No problem.
I didn't pronounce that correctly.
right? You did more, yeah.
Oh, okay, well.
Two, I'm going to say two.
Visiting Killarney
National Park.
See, it was just there,
which is beautiful.
Number three.
Visiting Blarney Castle
and waiting in a long line
to kiss the stuff?
No, I'm actually absolutely
against that. Everyone kisses this
fucking stone and you have to like
suspend yourself upside down.
You're like hanging half hanging off a fucking castle
when you do it. No, that's disgusting.
Five.
Five of everything.
Going on a pub crawl, but only to overpriced tourist spots.
What'd you say?
Poop?
Nothing.
I thought, I said one because I thought it was just a pub crawl.
Oh, starting with Temple Bar.
I think you took me to Temple Bar.
I didn't.
My fuck taking the Temple Bar.
I think so.
I've never taken any of the Temple Bar.
On my life, 2014, I walked in and they all started shouting.
Oh, got you.
There's only one.
That wasn't even your mate then.
That was, that was you and Gunny Nelson's that.
Holly.
Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah.
That was a good time.
There you go.
All right, what's that one?
You see, I do like drinking.
That's the thing.
So that's, it appeals to one of my main interests.
I'll go, I'll go, one.
Shopping all day on Henry Street.
Oh, thank God for it.
Yeah, that's perfect.
Henry Street's dangerous, man.
Watch out.
Like, I didn't bring you near Henry Street.
Fuck that.
Dangerous as in actually dangerous or you'll spend a bunch of money?
No, it's not.
Might get stabbed.
Yeah.
Oh, this is good.
Good. G.C., please blind rank these five worst times to get the bubble guts.
Oh, man, oh, man.
On an airplane as the place is taking off.
These are great blowing rankers.
Actually, real talk. Praise B. Knock on all wood.
This has never happened to me.
But I imagine that's terrifying, too.
Like where you have to go in the flight attendants, you start getting up the flight attendants like,
sir, sir, please sit down.
And you're like, I got a, I got to go.
Sir!
And what is it called?
I was getting stressed just thinking about it.
What's the guy, what was the thing, the agents on the plane?
Flight attendant.
No, no, no, no, no.
No, no.
No, the federal agents, like with the gone tall.
Yeah, the federal agent that's hit.
Air Marshal.
Air Marshal. Air Marshal.
Air Marshal.
Get down.
I'm going to shit myself.
Okay, okay.
So where is that?
That's, too.
That's bad place to be.
I'm a team, like, that's why I get so disgusted by the people putting down, like,
fucking burgers and sloppy shows and breakfast burritos,
trendy fucking gallon-sized coffees before I get on the plane
because I'm like, bro, I go in empty, clean, ready to roll.
That's you. You're insane.
That's me.
He also goes on...
I eat the hot chips right before we go on the plane.
He pulls his socks all the way up to his knees and is wearing...
I see him in shorts.
Popping laxatives before he gets on.
He's just like, fucking, let's see what happens.
Okay, this one is insane.
Standing on the altar during a wedding as a groomer
I mean, I guess you could dip.
Jesus Christ.
You could maybe dip, but if it's a hot day too and you're a tuxedo, they're like, don't lock your knees.
Don't lock your knees.
Imagine you lock your knees, pass out, and then you wake up and this asses.
You're worse.
Worse, it's like an Italian wedding.
You're wearing all linen.
The good news is, though, you're at a nice venue.
There's definitely going to be bathrooms available.
You're also part of the wedding party, so you probably got private bathrooms available to you.
Ceremonies these days are quick.
It's sort of just like, yep, I do, I do, see it, let's go back and party.
I'm going to say four for this one.
But also, if you, no one's paying attention to you.
If you went off, if someone was like, why'd you leave?
It was just like, I was going to shit myself.
Yeah, that's better.
Probably for the best.
Sitting in traffic and you're still five miles from your exit, this is the horse.
I'd probably put this at one because there's, like, the airplane, there's a bathroom.
Yes, there's a light at the end.
And, like, you can, you can fucking power through it.
like getting stuff stuck in traffic
and then also like the exit
you don't even know like
is it your home exit
or is it just an exit that has a gas station
you don't know what the situation
is going to be like there
it's a disaster
and it offers up one devil's advocate point
sure those other ones are much more public
right
if the worst case scenario happens
you're safe you're insulated
so you're saying
shit your pants
and sit in it for the rest of the ride on
stop that's what I'm saying too
I guess yeah
that's better than doing it
In public.
I also want all of you guys to know if we're ever on the air together and disaster strikes
and you were to shit your pants on the air, I'm going to sit there stone face to not even act like anything happened because I'm a real brother like that.
I'm not going to be like, what is that?
What is that?
I wouldn't do that.
I wouldn't do that.
So what number is that?
He said one.
That's one.
Strapped in on a roller coaster.
Again, that's, you have to have some sort of like restraint and will to fight through it at least for like a few minutes.
15 minutes, like you're going to be able to make it through.
It's not just like, oh, God, oh, no.
And then your pants are filled up.
Like, roller coaster is like five.
That's okay.
You'll get off and then you can go to the bus.
That one, like, just seems like the ultimate nightmare.
But number five here is at someone else's house, you barely know, and there's only one
bathroom, and it's in a common area.
Also.
I think three is a proper...
Do you know what's the problem with that?
if it's like relatively close to where everyone is congregated,
they are going to see you and then they're going to know how long you're in there for.
And it's just like, yeah, they know you shit.
We all shit.
Okay.
At that point, if it's really that desperate, you just have to own up there.
Yeah.
Like, you know, I was feeling terrible.
I'm so sorry.
But to your point.
Here's a few bucks to clean up.
If you're right next to the living room, it's just like, you have to walk out.
It's just fog horns going off.
Honestly, they didn't list the two that are my nightmares.
One is on like the subway because there's no bathrooms down there.
And it's hot.
Oh, my God, crowded.
We've got some traffic ahead of us?
I know a friend who had to go in between the cars one time.
It was terrible.
Number two is on the air.
On the air for like a watch party and there's nowhere to hide and there's nowhere to go.
That's a nightmare.
But we can sneak
It still gets brought up a year later
Yeah, that's true
This is from Bake Beans, G.C., please
blind rank these famous New York Rick hot takes
Using revisionist history
To rank them.
Yeah.
Being the Gable Glazer, the ultimate Gable Glazer,
famously said we've got a 25-year-old stud,
We've got nothing going on in this division,
it's desolate, throw them in there.
Brock Esk, it's Brock, it's Brock 2.0.
One?
Brock did lose early on.
I've had crazy shit than this.
By the way,
less we forget,
Brock lost his debut.
So Gable actually had a better start.
Rick famously saying
the New York Knicks
had no chance
of being the NBA champions
in 2026.
That one's worth.
Three.
Wow.
Fuck,
I didn't realize he said that.
Rick famously saying
Ilya's loss
to Justin Gachie
was, quote,
the best thing that happened.
That's one of my favorites.
That's one of my favorites.
That's not best.
He didn't say best thing that having
he said best case scenario.
Let's get that right,
too.
Two.
Rick famously.
best case scenario out of it. That's a
word that I live by at this point.
Anything bad happens to me? I'm just like, honestly
probably best case case. That one's a great
tape. When I'm riding in between the subway cars
taking a dump. You know what?
This is honestly best case scenario.
Rick famously proclaiming Queens is the best
place to live in New York City. God, that is
such a shit take. This guy lost
the plot. I guess four. I like
holy shit, it's such a bad take.
Rick famously claiming every winter he's never been
ill or never will be ill while
shivering and coffee is guzzled. That's not a take. That's just him
lying.
Yeah.
The reality.
They had two good ones
in the chamber.
They had two good ones
in the chamber.
Ronda Rousy,
Fighter of the Year.
The Knicks one.
Yeah, I know.
How does the Ronner?
The other one.
Frank Mear knockout over.
Yeah, yeah.
That was the great one.
Todd Duffy, was it?
Todd Duffy.
Hey, this is a good one
from T.J. again.
For the woke front bench.
Let's go.
Do you cringe when Ariel's
interviewees show support
for that side?
Or is it more of a to each
his own situation?
Frank, take it a lot of
Cringing.
A whole lot of cringing, if that was the case.
Frank is shaking his head.
He can't answer.
He can't be down the middle on this.
Jordan?
Well, it depends what their reasoning is.
So it is a, like, let's hear them out.
Let me hear what they're reasoning.
Is it not just going to judge a book by its cover?
Okay.
Andy, do you want to weigh in?
I'll say what Jordan said.
Okay.
Why do you think most fighters slash fight fans are mostly right-leaning Republicans?
This is kind of...
I don't know.
that that's even true, though.
Yeah.
I, I, if it is, it's a new
phenomenon. They are, they are certainly
vocal, right? And they are,
it feels like they have
a loud and powerful
voice, especially because it aligns with what
seemingly the promotion and Dana
White and, and, you know, the
proximity to Trump is like
currently in vogue. But I don't know
that that's true. I would guess that it's closer
to 50-50 if I had to guess.
Some of these guys, I don't think so? I think it's
like 75, 25.
Really?
actually goes so far right that they end up
on the left. Like, they're reasoning.
They reason it out and then they're like,
like, how did you get here?
Especially like the fighters in the roster
as well. Like you have Gaichi speaking
at conventions. Obviously, Trump comes
to the events. I think part of the thing is
sorry to interrupt. No, go ahead.
Fighters in MMA or in the UFC are
more comfortable
doing these things that like Gaichi was doing
recently as opposed to, I bet there are people
like that in the NBA but are sort of told
like keep it to yourself, right? Yeah. I
the environment, the climate,
I don't think is like conducive
to somebody coming out
on the other side as like vocally.
So I don't know.
I wonder what the true breakdown is.
It's certainly the loudest voice right now.
You know?
Anyway, those poles, you know?
Oh, yeah, the straw poles?
G.C., please blind rank
these five southern comfort foods.
Oh, yeah.
Fried chicken.
Two.
Shrimp and grits.
Mm.
Four.
Bake beans?
Five.
Barbecue pulled pork.
Three?
Frank's mom's ass.
One.
Nailed it.
Great delivery.
Throwback.
Yeah, first time.
We haven't had that in a while.
That is a southern comfort food.
Last one, as far as blind ranks are concerned,
Hey, G.C.
In honor of the most United Hate Watch of a fraud check this last week,
blind rank these recent fraud checks.
Okay.
Malcolm Wellmaker versus Ethan Ewing.
Very good.
It's tough.
Five.
That was our guy.
Boe versus RDR.
You talk about a hate watch in unit.
and I remember Bo was getting shit on after that.
I'll go two.
Peyton Talbot versus Barcellos.
Peyton Talbot has bounced back nicely
as well as Bo Nickel has four.
Zhang Ming Yang versus Johnny Walker.
Ooh.
I was back because now he's also gotten
caoed by Alonzo Menefield.
I'll go one.
Patchy versus Batista.
Fuck.
God damn, I should have saved one.
I should have saved one. Three.
Yeah, that was a tough one.
Yeah.
Damn.
On the list.
well I think it's like so far above it's number one by it's like Uber one it's the category now
yeah it is it's not even a fraudic table category just got gabled just a couple other ones this is from
Colin did Amazon explain their reasoning for putting the beat on fire versus on regular prime I'm
curious about the business decision behind acquiring an exclusive show and trying tying it to a device
as opposed to their extremely popular streaming service I think they're trying to build that up
yeah they have prime channels that they're trying to build and they are programming them with
very fine content such as the
Uncrown Beat. Some say the best content.
Here's New York Rick's
unsolicited comments. Ariel,
did you recently discover... That's the name of the person?
Yeah. Okay. Did you recently
discover the word sentiment and
insinuating? I've been listening for years
and it seems like you use both multiple times
every show. I only started noticing
them a couple months ago and now I can't stop hearing
them. Do I say that a lot?
I'm sure there are words that I use.
It's a general sentiment. Maybe
one of the interns can keep a daily towel
or the folks in the control room can turn into a drinking game.
No, thank you.
Hey, gang, I hate being that guy is from Worship,
telling Frank how to do his job,
but I'm going to tell him how to do his job.
He's not going to like this.
Yeah, he doesn't seem like he's in the best of moods.
Is everything okay, Frank?
I think the crackling got to him.
The update is that he's still locked in on fixing everything
and he's not in the mood to deal with that.
Well, he says, when you're telling Ariel something's not on air,
maybe try saying off air before you tell them the info.
Alternatively, just have everything on air and then there's no confusion.
My services and advice are always available, Frank.
Frank, your thoughts.
I think these are good.
Well, we'll take it into advisement.
Thanks.
All right.
Here's a Cape Town Matt suggestion.
I've never seen GC and Rick as funny as when they are tearing apart bullshit comments on the watch parties.
GC in relax form is really hilarious.
Dana comments being a good example.
After leaving my first few comments on social media,
I noticed the amount of absolute dog shit comments around.
I thought a great addition to their show
would be a segment dedicated to bullshit social media comments.
GC and Rick really have a laugh at some of the rubbish people say
would be hilarious.
The recent comment on where I was,
do you really believe they had 80,000 people at Croke Park for Katie's fight?
Yes, I do believe that.
Yeah.
Many people saw it.
The only reason we can't do that segment is because we can't go through all the comments.
We can't narrow down.
I can't, I actually can't take the time to read those.
It would just be too negative for my life.
Here's lactose-free faget.
By the way, I got the 100-year anniversary yogurt.
That brand has been around for 100 years.
And it's gold-plated.
I've been thinking about it.
We're like literally five minutes away from devouring it, so I can't wait.
Oh, Ariels.
That's a good point.
I know I'm probably on an oasis here,
but I cannot for the life of me comprehend how New York Rick thinks
Alex has the same star power as Ilya Patti or even Armin.
He's a giant bore, in my opinion.
Dude says Shama, and that's the whole appeal.
That and he looks like a hitman.
I just don't see this charisma that the masses see.
Obviously, I get it to extent.
But a star, mega star, I don't get it, never have.
Am I actually required to even say anything to this, or can we move on?
You can move on.
Yeah.
He's headline him as he plays, 300.
One of the biggest stars of you.
It's not just about him saying Shama.
It's about, like, knocking people the fuck out.
Here's Spanish Armada.
Do you guys know the reference?
Billy Madison?
Yeah.
Did Rick ever see the movie Hocom that came out earlier this year?
Also, any other horrors Rick has seen recently?
I did see Hocom.
I quite enjoyed it.
It was unique.
Damn, it's horror.
I'm so bad at this off the tip of my tongue.
Obsession, obviously, fantastic.
Backrooms, obviously.
Fantastic. I just saw Resident Evil.
More,
not super like
jump scare horror.
Is it like the video game?
No. It's utilizing that universe,
like that feel, but it's not
like referencing the game much
at all. Zombies? It is
zombies. I don't know if it's horror
as much as like, just like
gory action,
but it's quite good.
Eric says, I've been a Chargers
fan since I could remember. I've lived through
some tough times, bad owners, we moved, all that stuff and more. We started O&2 when many of us
fans thought this was our season and we can make it to the big game. Can you talk me off the edge
of never watching football again? And how did you stay a fan of the bills when you guys were going
through some really tough times? I'll be honest, there were some tough times where I was like,
I don't really want to watch this. And we've talked about this before. I don't think that
there's any honor in being like, I'm not saying change teams, but you don't have to put yourself
through the misery of a beautiful Sunday afternoon, especially you live in L.A., San Diego.
just because it's like, oh, I have to suffer with these guys who absolutely suck.
Point is, the reason you stick with them is so that now you feel like, holy shit,
my team is actually on the verge of doing it.
That's why this felt so good.
That's why I was seeing the Knicks finally do it when I thought maybe I never see it,
and I still don't even believe it, felt so damn good, and I'm still on the high.
And that's why if the bills do it, it will be indescribable as well.
So you stick with it through the good and the bad, and they've had some good seasons.
Obviously, remember 95 making it to the Super Bowl against the 49ers.
That was a great season.
Really fun team, Junior Seow, Natron Means.
Stan Humphreys was the quarterback.
Anyway, you got to stick with them.
You just do.
But, you know, if you need to take a break for your mental health, take a break.
Pizzi from Cosmo Kramer.
The question is, do you envision the release of the release of
the Nikita Handbook this week have any effect on McGregor's image here in North America.
He says if Pizzi's not available, but you are available.
No, it's big, like, I mean, she's doing a forced televoys interview right now as we speak.
I saw, I saw a radio one that was video.
Brendan O'Carroll, yeah, she did his podcast for R TV.
So does that not count?
Like you're talking television like TV?
Yeah, it's on prime time.
Oh, wow.
You know, your version is, our version of like 60 minutes.
Oh, wow.
Okay, okay.
So that's on now.
What's the show?
What's the program?
It's called prime time.
So yeah, I think it's going to, like, I know it's a different feeling in North America,
but it was like the biggest story in Ireland in 2024.
People were like going through every little bit of it.
And it actually got extended then as well because the court case finished in November
2024.
There was the appeals process, which began in July 2025, a perjury, um, investigatory.
investigation came out of that.
And then the Supreme Court only kind of denied the final appeal.
They denied his request to look at,
even look at it in December 2020.
So a lot's happened.
Nikita Hand hasn't been in the public eye at all.
This book is coming out.
I see the aggregator sites have picked up on that.
And yeah, I mean,
this is a huge spotches in tonight.
I'm going to have a look at it,
see if there's any new revelations.
But I don't think it's going to have a massive impact.
impact outside of Ireland. It's a very Irish story, I feel, anyway. One more from Bill.
Gable is unlikable, fake media trained, failed out of every athletic endeavor, sexual assault
case. I'm just curious, why did Rick Hitch's wagon so hard to this guy just wanted an explanation?
Can I answer this one?
The Olympic gold medal, I imagine. First of all, he did not fail out of every athletic endeavor.
He did win an Olympic gold medal. He was very successful, won a national championship,
all this stuff in war, had an incredible collegiate career. Now,
everything post Olympic gold medal has not gone his way.
But that was also two years after the sexual assault allegations.
Why did Rick hitches wagon at no point, and you can try to find it, you'll be unsuccessful if you attempt to find it.
Did he say, I like this guy, I want to root for this guy, or, and correct me if I'm wrong, if you said it and I missed it, you were talking about his athletic ability.
And it's okay to be able to separate.
There's a lot of people in the sport and in sports who are not good people.
people. I mean, I think of the NFL. There's a lot of star players who have very, very, very
checkered past, to put it mildly, but you have to acknowledge the fact that they are incredible
talent. And so you can't say, this guy sucks because I don't like the things that he did
outside of the field. You are able to separate the two. And so at no point that I ever hear,
again, correct me if I'm wrong, Rick say, I like this dude, I want to root for this dude.
He just had great expectations on how good of a fighter he thought he was going to be.
And by the way, could still be, let's see.
It's not looking great right right now, but as we discussed yesterday, people lose.
Am I right about that?
That's accurate.
Yeah, I mean, the same way I will tell you that John Jones will beat everybody on the planet, right?
Like, it just is what it is as far as that.
It is not an endorsement of anything he has done in his past.
It is not anything other than competitive guessing on what he would be able to achieve in the sport of MMA.
But yes, it is not anything other than that.
And that's come up actually like a few times on boys in the back.
We've had various versions of questions related to this, not specifically Gable.
One time it was Ronda Rousey, but I don't view any of these athletes as role models.
Like there's very few that I would point to and be like, this is the role model.
This sport just doesn't produce those types of people, right?
And so to be honest, athletics is probably not the place to find that.
I'm more interested in seeking role models and people to tell my kids to look up to elsewhere than sports.
But in this scenario, it's just I still, to an extent, believe Gable Stephson, his athletic achievements have put him in position to be quite a good MMA fighter.
He had a horrible week.
He had a horrible knockout.
We'll see how he recovers from that.
But yes, it's not an endorsement of any of the other things that surround him.
Appreciate all the questions.
I did see this one tweet here from Ryan Garcia that I wanted to spotlight.
He writes, Nico Ali wishes he was Ali, but he won't defend his grandpa's honor when Terence said that Ali was a loser that should show you the type of person he is.
And I saw Ryan talking about other stuff with Nico Ali.
I don't know.
He's not happy with Nico Ali Walsh.
That's a weird one.
All right, let's go to Super Chats real quick here.
Okay, wow.
Does Ariel have better hands than Gable?
Wow.
Interesting debate.
Is that your sparring?
Do you sparring much?
This is what the people are.
Oh, me versus Gable?
That'd be crazy.
I like to drink Mountain Dew Amp.
Shout out to W.C. Faber.
Oh, I remember that drink.
legendary when I'm down bad
New York Rick I would like to buy you one
Please accept this $499
Hold the line bro
I'll take it
I'll take it now
That is nice
I missed the show yesterday
Live show yesterday
To people saying
That you would not have certain people on the show
I've followed you in your work for 10 years
You have always showed love and respect to all people
Yes
I knew that we'd get clipped off
And I knew everyone would have their say
No one owes us anything
thing, come on the show. All I'm trying to tell you is that every time you guys say you won't have
so-and-so on, I try to have everyone on and I don't do it to try to stick it to you guys. I just
try to have the newsmakers on the program, and I'm not picking and choosing based on who I like
or I think I'll like and that kind of nonsense. So you continue to be wrong. It goes to the convo we
just had. Yeah. They are the athletes of this sport. Sammy says my super chat was to you, Ariel. Thank you.
Sammy again, love Eddie, love Pat, but please Eddie,
hold your horses on putting Pat's name in the same conversation with Jabitat.
He's just being a promoter.
Pat's really damn good.
Pat's a fucking beast.
Yeah, man.
The way this guy hits, and there's something like very unassuming about him,
I don't know, the hair, the beard, and then he comes out there and he's a freaking...
He's primal as fuck, though.
Yeah.
Not see him doing the Jack Dempsey thing at the end where he goes around showing everyone his hands out.
So good.
Love it, man.
The two body shots there?
You got some pause on you, Pete.
Yeah, you do.
Oh, yeah.
Yeah, for real.
Pizzi, let's see the abs.
Well, I can't.
It's impossible for me to show you abs.
Sammy also says, so he's a big fan of Pat Brown's,
Pat Brown should go for the European belt next.
Why not?
Why not?
Let's take our time.
Here's Hay Shultzzi who says,
Ariel, do you say Z or Z?
Oh, the letter, I say Z.
But I say gas, not gas.
Like the gas station.
I guess.
The gas.
Gazz with a Z.
Gasoline.
Gasoline, yeah.
You also say he won.
Yeah.
Juan.
I used to have to write in school.
In my, the prompter and our script, they would tell me to write J-U-A-N.
Juan.
Like, Juan.
And also A-G-E-N-S-T, against, instead of against.
Against.
And I would say organization.
And they would tell me to say organization.
Anyway, here's
History's Unsung Heroes
who says,
Pop the Top, let's see some abs.
Yeah.
Come on, you all.
Tarps off, baby.
Get your rod in.
Right, no, no.
That's a great rod you've got away, man.
I said top, not, you know.
Translation.
Kind of like you said.
Let's see here.
What a rod.
I think the translator
also realized something.
He's like, oh.
All of us.
back here.
UFC did an event at the White House.
What about an event at the Taj Mahal?
Now, does he mean the Trump Taj Mahal or just the Taj Mahal?
Either of them.
Either of them, yeah.
Well, he says we'll be in India.
But India is the largest population of the world.
It's true.
What's going on over there?
What?
What's up?
What happened?
Gable?
What the fuck is this?
Gable got fraud check.
Yoel got...
You think Yoel Romero
has even any sense
that this is all going on right now.
That his rod is the topic of conversation for half...
He's bringing back all the clothes.
He went straight back to return all those items he was wearing.
The tags.
Oh.
I can't see the screen because I'm...
crying so much.
What did you read?
Are you supposed to read this?
No, no.
We don't read it.
Could Tom be mentally fragile due to Surreal's fingers literally grazing his brain?
Bro was knuckle deep.
He's a heel.
Duck, Duck, Doose.
I'm always confused.
Is that greater than or less than?
That's greater.
Okay.
I know what the fuck that is.
You don't know Duckto Goose?
No.
Wow.
You know musical chairs, though.
Yeah.
Duck, Goose is the one where you, you,
you walk around the circle
and then you tap somebody on the head
and they run after you?
No.
Did you have that?
You didn't have that.
Of course.
Legendary.
I loved Red Rover, Red Rover.
Mm-hmm.
We bring Ariel.
Red Rover?
Yep.
Capture the flag.
Yep.
Probably my favorite.
Okay.
Mick Parkin is the uncrown heavyweight champion.
All right.
I know.
But we determine Alexander Volkov
interim
uncrown heavyweight champion.
Yes.
Pete, do you see Alexander Volkov?
I did, yeah.
Some can of piss.
What a debut. What a debut.
G.C., you've been saying it for weeks.
You were dead right, man.
Yeah, dead right.
I need to get a Volkov shirt, ASA.
So, Ariel, big fan.
How impressed were you by my boy, Armand Tsarukian?
Did you expect an elbow, K.O. from a high-level wrestler?
Yeah, he's been training with the great Georgia Petrosian.
Oh, they're even saying neon.
Or him.
Some say that they see a lot of me in.
neon.
Yeah.
Is that a compliment?
Did Captain Eric, when he flipped it earlier, when he was like, Arril, I've got a question
to ask you.
And he's like, neon being in the corner.
I thought he was going to be like, I'm a coach.
Like, what is this guy being in the corner?
There was something there.
Let's get into influencing.
Let's start streaming all together.
Didn't I expect that.
Did you see his background?
He's at the creator.
Streaming is the wave.
He moved.
Was someone else sitting in that spot?
Was someone else sitting in that spot?
And then he's like.
get out, like, I'm on an aerial show now,
and they were like, what are you talking about?
And he's like, I need to get the fucking background in.
I think that's what happened.
I love every press conference,
Dana White's asked about this,
said this six years ago,
told the Linnae,
it's the future.
He says the same thing every time.
You've heard this, right?
Where he talks about streaming's the future.
These kids of the future.
Meanwhile, they ban neon.
Do you remember they ban neon from an event?
Oh, yeah.
Because he talked about something.
Like, oh, wasn't, no.
Neon was banned.
He was?
Yes, from coming into the arena.
But I remembered this recently and forgot what the context was.
Didn't he also ask Nate Diaz something stupid?
That was before the Mosvidal fight.
That was him, though.
Yeah, yeah.
And then they went to...
Think that he got cancer or something?
That's how he got fined.
Oh, yeah, that was the whole other thing.
That he died?
Anyway, it's like every day.
He's with Marab.
He's with Sean Strickdon.
It's the future, man.
Oh.
Judge Dana on January 1st.
Yeah.
He said he was going to...
He planned to talk shit and physically confront
Trump.
President Trump.
Yeah, U.S.C. 296.
Covington versus.
And then they banned him, right?
Yeah.
How did he get on there?
I don't know.
He didn't get in.
He called neon a cloud chasing punk.
Did he really?
Dana White did, yeah.
Wow, weird.
Lads, do you have a specific style of martial art?
A favorite specific style.
I've always appreciated Kiyokishin
karate thanks to GSP and Basrund
explaining it.
Yes, that was GSP's discipline.
Do I have a favorite style?
I'm a judo guy.
You know, my uncle was in the 1976 Olympics.
That's crazy.
Yeah, that's great.
Maitai.
Maitai, okay.
That's pretty sad.
Muitai.
Did you hear when I ask you all about the shoddy man, dirty boxing?
He liked that one.
I was just trying to laugh.
I was trying to get a reason to laugh because I was holding it in.
You know when you do that?
I was like, what the fuck is he asshole?
Lots of people are too nervous to talk about Armant Taruki and pushing Bobby Green backstage.
Arrow, please remember when my boy, Armand walked up to Bobby and pushed him away and
almost fought. Arm and my boys in OG. It's true. He's about that life. Oh man, Shiz loves
Armist Rukian. Married people have no idea how bad 2026 dating is. Nah, that's fun. It's fine.
It's fun out there. I'd love a rip on it, man. Left, right. You got to calm down. I promise you
wouldn't, man. Rod Talk has found a new home. Shout out to Rod Morrow. Yeah. I thought you're
talking about the famous toy box are there for a second. Rod Teng.
Rotang on Rod Talk?
What happened with Yogurt Gate?
Was the mystery solved?
No.
It seems as though they're actually withholding evidence from us.
Listen, there's tape.
But we don't have to see it.
We'll see it.
That gold yogurt that I have waiting in the fridge for me is got to be desired.
Presumably.
Two more here.
Ariel, you always press on distribution.
Cooker said on the show he'll go with or without it.
In 2026, can even the best promotion
survive that. No. I don't know. I was surprised to hear that. I know they've got funding and
stuff, but you can't go with it without it. What do you mean? You're going to give this away for free.
You're not going to make any money. That's how you survive. Distribution. So I think it's key to their
success. Yeah. Yeah. Oh. Not bad, Pici, not bad. And lastly, I'm a huge Till fan,
but I'm nervous for him. I've never seen you all this confident and cocky going into a fight before.
Cocky. Cocky? Cocky? Oh, God. Sorry. He's cocky all right.
I can't wait for that.
That is going to be...
Fight of the weekend, no doubt.
100%.
I think it's going to be, like, frenetic.
I think it's going to be a car crash.
I think it's going to be nuts.
What about his knuckles already being banged up, Yel?
What about him saying he never trained in the gloves ever for his entire career?
Y'all can say anything, and I'm just like, yeah.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
That's probably true.
Yep, yep, yep.
When he got abs like that?
Remember he showed him to the core of the dude, like, who...
Oh, yeah.
just sat there?
And a rod like that?
The guy who, the guy
in the front of him.
She was showing him his rod
the whole time.
And I was like, no.
Oh, God.
What have I done?
I just, I missed one.
Shout out to the squad.
What can we expect for BITB?
Yeah, Rod talks back for sure.
Yeah.
I thought that was a dead segment.
It's back.
Shout to the soldier of Rod,
U.L.
Rod Merrow.
Yeah.
Pound for pound,
catch phrases in honor of Rao Rosas
Chiwiwiwis.

He was not the only guilty one on the team.
After the Alvin Hine or Calvin Klein, whoever he fought in like his third fight,
Hwani was also like, let's serve him up to zero-down.
Oh, he wasn't glazing on all-time.
Okay, but did I say he's going to be the all-time best?
No.
And to the point we said earlier, sometimes it's better to lose one of those guys.
Can you say, ah, you got rushed as opposed to losing to a Sean Sharaf.
So I still stand by it.
Okay.
Did I say he was going to smoke Surreal God?
I just said serve him up.
me. I think we get a lot of us still stand by.
All right, all right. Still stand by it.
And of course, Pizzi heading up the crack on Friday with the boys,
that shall be fun as always, taking us into the weekend.
Check out our podcast feed, brand new episode of the Young Crown Wrestling Show.
The Solid Monster always does an amazing job.
And Thursdays Inside Boxing, it's usually Thursday Sunday.
Check them out on the YouTube channel.
We're now collaborating with them on the YouTube channel,
but also on the pod feed as well.
We are growing here over at Uncrowned HQ,
and it is time to say goodbye.
I also want to give a special shout out.
What's that?
Oh, yes.
We've got to figure out a better way of doing this
because it's too soft in my ear,
so I don't know if it's a mistake.
Yeah, thank you.
I do want to give a shout out to John Pollock
of Post Wrestling and Brandon Thurston.
They got an exclusive interview with Janelle Grant,
who, of course, was a central figure
in the Vince McMahon story,
accusations and the trial,
which has now gone to arbitration,
and they've decided to settle out of the public eye, so to speak.
Anyway, go to post-wrestling.com
or their YouTube channel to check out that interview.
First time we hear from her.
And I do want to give a massive shout-out
to our good friends over at Vice TV.
We are now on to week two
of the Best of the Ariel Hawani show
live on Vice TV.
Nah, it's not actually live.
It's the best of,
so I can't say he's actually live,
but we're very excited to be a part of the Vice family.
They've got the dark side of the cage and ring seasons
flowing.
Actually, yesterday was a Chale Sunn episode.
Did you guys catch that?
No.
Very good stuff.
The making of the American gangster.
So looking forward to being a part of that family
for many, many weeks and months and years to come.
But for now, we say goodbye.
What about Jackson Dart, by the way?
Ali. If you're a Giants and Knicks fan, are you, are you numb to this because you say, like, either Nick's won or are you bummed out? I don't know.
Neighbors is injured too. Yeah.
We've gone as well. Crazy. In any event, uh, we say goodbye.
Yeah. Sorry. Go ahead. Sorry. No, it's okay. Uh, Alexander Volkov, Yole Romero, Patrycio Pippel, Pat Brown, Jack Catterol. Thanks to them. Thanks to them. Thanks to them as well. Back tomorrow.
I'll say,
