Hello and welcome to a brand new edition of the Ariel and Ade boxing show right here on
the undisputed global home of boxing, The Zone.
Welcome in, sit back, relax.
We got a lot to talk about.
We got a lot of people to talk to two guests on today's program
But of course, I don't fly solo. We go across the pond. We say hello to my
copilot
my
my chief second
the one and only
Adele Adipo
Looking 20. I don't know if I like the chief second. Yeah, what do you prefer? No, no
Copilot was better than Chief's second. Co-host?
Co-host?
Co-host, yeah, yeah, I'll take that as well.
I'll take that.
I'll take co-host.
I love it.
A little Canadian tuxedo on this Tuesday evening.
I presume we're rocking with jeans, right?
No, of course we're not rocking the jeans.
I'm at home chilling.
I'm rocking shorts.
Shorts?
That's what I'm rocking. Jeans, shorts? Jorts looking shorts. No, no what no, we don't do that. Those should be banned
That's just for John Cena and Stone Cold Steve Austin. Those are the only two the only ones there any people can get away of it
Gary Barfoot from the zone a producer in the background wears like the tightest jean shorts and I'm like, can we ban those?
How are these even like? How are they illegal?
How do you leave your house looking in the mirror
and thinking, I look good in those?
How do you do that?
Don't be that guy.
I'm that guy.
I'm that guy.
I've told him so many times.
And by the way, if you're at home and you're wondering why
Ade is a little grumpy on this Tuesday evening,
of course, we do have to, you know, we have to commiserate.
It's been a tough week for him and his beloved Reds,
the other Reds. I mean, the loss to PSG, the loss to commiserate. It's been a tough week for him and his beloved Reds, the other Reds.
I mean, the loss to PSG, the loss to Newcastle.
Golly, at the prestigious Canberra Cup final.
I mean, it's been tough.
And so my heart goes out to you.
Thank you.
Virtual hug.
I don't know if you're meaning any of this.
I don't know if this is your way
to just to kind of dig me again.
I'm not quite sure.
It's been tough.
I mean, you guys need a little humbling. I feel like there's a constant dig from you in like of this. I don't know this is your way to just to kind of dig me again. I'm not quite sure. I mean, I feel like there's a constant dig from you in like every episode.
It's fine. I can take it. Wow. It's been a tough week for me. It has been. Yeah. What
I'd expect me and you now because we are friends, right? I expect a friend to reach out after
the game and say, you okay? I didn't get any of that. You waited until Tuesday. Not true.
To say this. This is true. Inaccurate true inaccurate and by the way no one
cares about the Carabao Cup let's be honest okay Newcastle do yeah one second
one second one second not a forest if not in forest one night it's been called
so many things but I've actually funny we were talking about this is a bit of a
joke I've never seen the drink Carabao before I've actually never the sponsor
Carabao like an energy drink I've've never seen it in my life. In any store. But yeah, no one cares about it. Yeah, you're
right.
Not a big deal. Adé, we've got a lot to get to, okay? No time for dilly-dallying here
today. We have a lot of people to talk to. We're going to be talking to the towering
Inferno himself, the WBC champ, the great Sebastian Fundora, who will be competing this
weekend. It's a very busy weekend. You've got, of course, PBC over in Las Vegas
at the formerly Mandalay Bay.
Now the Michelob ultra arena, something like
that. And also down under we've got a great
card in Sydney, headlined by George Kambosas,
Skye Nicholson, Tiara Brown on that card as
well. And Sugar Neeks, Shernika Johnson
against Nina Hughes too.
Do you remember what happened a few months ago when these two individuals
fought? One of the craziest scenes of all time in the immediate aftermath of a
fight. In case you missed it, a quick refresher, take a look at this bizarre
wacky stuff.
Remember this? Yes I do. This is so great. This is my favorite part coming up decision and still the WBA World's Pantamagorch Champion.
Yes I do.
This is so great.
This is my favorite part coming up here.
A lopsided scorecard of 98-92.
So the ring announcer announces it for Nina Hughes
as you can see.
Lopsided, everyone's like, what the hell just happened?
To go to seven and O and retain her world championship.
No, no, no, no, but you know the craziest thing is about this look at this look at this far right here
she was in control the announcers like
holy holy crap i just read the score
card
three connected advantage and by the
way nakamura oh my god oh my god
scorecard will be forgot about this
ash we've got that issue
yes oh my god What what we doing
No, no, no
Yeah, I hate to laugh because the ring announcer,
Lieutenant Dan Hennessey, afterwards talked about
how he was getting a lot of heat for it,
but Joe Tessitore on the call say,
is this guy for real?
No, no, no, no, you're gonna get heat.
I'm sorry.
I mean, look, we all work in this industry.
You make that kind of mistake, expect heat.
Don't expect it to be, okay, he made a mistake.
No, expect heat.
If I make a mistake, I expect my Twitter timeline to go off. I just kind of expect it. It's
the position we put ourselves in. That's a horrific mistake. But what I will say about
that mistake as well, Shanika and her team, when Nina won or when the scorecards were
read out first time for her to win, they didn't complain. They were almost accepting of the
result, the fight result. I can't remember how the fight played out. I can't remember who I scored it to, but they
didn't seem to complain and say, Oh, it was a disgrace. They seem to accept it. So interesting.
And it had to happen again. It had to happen again. So no excuses this time. Is it the
same ring announcer?
I guess we'll find out. Perhaps we'll ask her when she joins us in about 25 minutes
or 30 or so minutes. But the thing is, if he doesn't make that mistake, they probably don't run it back.
That's the crazy part about it.
You know what I mean?
Like it wasn't a very controversial fight.
If you actually just watched it before that era
and you kind of had one job, never quite seen
that before.
I've seen a referee, you know, raise the wrong
person's hand, but to read like that, the
imagine Nina Hughes thinking that she won,
huge fight for her over in Australia,
and then he just runs it back and is like,
I hope no one heard that, let me do this all over again.
That's the thing, dude.
It's not like he said to the crowd,
apologies, you made a mistake.
He just ran it back and then had the same energy
and pointed at the blue corner.
I was like, oh, dude, you've just made the biggest mistake
I've ever seen on live boxing ever. And you just carried on like nothing happened. Like, did anyone
hear that? And there was no explanation to Nina Hughes. She's in the ring kind of hands
to her side. Like, okay, what just happened? Yeah. And that was crazy. They had to run
it back and look, I mean, should be another good fight.
We'll talk to her later in the program. Lot to get to actually. We'll start with some
breaking news, Ade. I don't know if you saw this,
but I know you're very much well up to speed.
You have your finger on the pulse.
Breaking news regarding your guy, Martin Bacoli.
How about this?
Did you see this?
Yeah, making the switch, going over to the world
of professional wrestling.
You haven't seen this?
Look at the big one.
You're not serious.
You're not serious.
You're not serious.
I thought this was a serious show,
a serious outfit. What is this?
Look at Martin!
What's going on?
He's looking a little dizzy there for a second.
What's happening to Big Martin?
He definitely got dizzy. I don't know.
One thing I did see, he looked slimmer.
Or maybe that's just me wishful.
Yeah, maybe it was just wishful thinking, but he does look, I went straight down to that
belly area thinking, okay, last time it looked like you were about eight months pregnant.
Now you look okay.
Wow.
So I think he looks a bit slimmer.
He does.
I'm harshing him because I love him.
You do love him.
That's what it is.
It's tough love and I hope he gets the job done.
I'm picking him against a fellow Nigerian as well, by the way.
That's how much I love him, but hopefully he's in better shape this time.
And he looks it already.
That's maybe what he's trying to show us.
I don't know what that was, that wrestling move he did, but he's in good shape.
I loved it.
Jokes aside, we did start the day with some breaking news.
And it's about a fighter that we've actually talked about a few times on this program.
Thank you, Frank. Appreciate that.
We got to get it right this time.
Alicia Baumgartner signing with most valuable
promotions, the undisputed super featherweight
champion.
We do not know when her next fight is.
We presume it will be on that July 11th, all
female card right here in New York city at Madison
square garden.
Shout out to the MVP team.
This was such a great promo.
We can't play the audio cause there's all kinds
of music, but they know how to do it right.
And, you know, when I had Lou DiBella on the show
last week, he hinted that they're going all in on
women's boxing.
And I think this is a brilliant move, especially
here in this country at a women's sports at an
all time high with the WNBA and Caitlin Clark and,
uh, college sports and volleyball.
It is so, it is a lucrative business to be a part of.
And we're seeing spin-off leagues and whatnot.
Look, MVP has to find their thing.
They're not in the Riyadh season business.
They're not in the Turkey Al-Sheikh business
clearly, and they won't be.
So they have to find their thing and perhaps
they're saying, let's go all in on women's boxing.
We have Amanda Serrano leading the charge.
We're doing this card on July 11th.
Let's get Alicia Baumgartner who I think we both agree has that it factor is an undisputed champion
Is an incredible champion who hasn't even gone even close to her ceiling
I think it's a brilliant move and I think if they could do even half of what they did with Amanda Serrano with Alicia Baumgartner
It's going to be a huge pairing for the two of them
Yeah, I mean Jake Paul might even think there's a way she can go past Serrano,
and that might surprise people.
And the reason I say that is because you know
Serrano doesn't talk any trash.
Serrano doesn't really talk much.
You get Alicia Baumgartner, she kind of ticks all the boxes.
She'll go back and forth with you,
and she delivers in the ring like Amanda Serrano as well.
I mean, she's got a massive fan base over here
because every time we've seen her over here,
she's looked really good.
Terry Harper, that stoppage,
I'll never forget where she stopped her on her feet, the fight against
Michaela Meyer, the way in which she sold herself.
I actually felt that that co-main event at the time almost became bigger
than Clarissa versus Savannah.
It almost superseded it.
It took, it took eyeballs away from the main event because those girls were so good.
Um, I think it's a great sign.
And we spoke about her, as you say, a couple of shows ago, and we were like, she needs that push again. She's almost someone that's almost fell enough,
fallen off a little bit. She needs someone to get behind her and really kind of promote her.
And Jake Paul, one of the best in the business right now with Nikita and alongside Amanda Serrano,
I think it makes perfect sense. And hopefully it's a good opponent on this super card. Fingers
crossed they can find her someone, but I always feel that she's got the frame and the physique to go through the weight classes
as well. So there's no excuses not to get her a good fight. Do you like the idea of
MVP focusing on women's boxing? Do you think this is a smart move for them?
Let's be the place where we develop talent. They've got my girl Tamara Thibault,
the Canadian Olympian. They seem to be investing and trying to find and, and trying to find these, these stars that they could build around in these different weight
classes.
And, and by the way, there could be a great match there between Serrano and
Baumgartner, maybe this excludes it.
Maybe it doesn't, I don't know, but you like this approach from the guys at MVP.
Yeah, I think someone's got to go really big in it.
Um, I think Eddie certainly tried and to an extent still does do a lot of female fights
He's got some really good fighters on under his umbrella
Ellie Scott, he stands out obviously Sky Nicholson has got the big fight coming up
I almost feel like it's kind of plateaued a little bit from the highs of a couple of years ago where it felt like they
Were big fight after big fight and almost for if someone can kind of get all the talent and almost do that
Like some promoters have like Frank Warren seems to have all the heavyweights, for example, someone can get all the talent and then sort
of make big in-house fights. I think Jake's the perfect person to promote it. I think
you'll really give it that push. And it starts with what he's got coming up, Madison Square
Garden. But I think someone needs to get behind all the girls and really give them the promotion
they need because it has fallen a little, think personally a little flat of recent again if someone can start really sort of putting some
money into them really investing on what they've got I think it could be a good thing yeah what a
reintroduction it would be because let's be honest the last couple years for her have not been great
she had a no contest a headbutt on a card that no one watched in September. Of course, there was
that, that controversial judge test.
Yeah, it's weird to describe, right? I mean, yeah, again, that's, that's almost not been
cleared up. It's not really out there. Like what happened? It's kind of a weird one with
that. And there's a lot of gray area from that. So she needs to kind of move on from
that very quickly.
And a back and forth with Clarissa Shields, and they're not even in the same stratosphere
as far as weight is concerned. And they were sort of viewed as like these two queens of the, the Michigan fight scene.
And then they were going back and forth.
And it was like, where are we going?
What's the direction here?
You've got so much talent.
I remember being around, around her all week,
uh, that, that first Katie Taylor, Chantelle
Cameron fight, and she has an orator.
She has a presence.
She's got that it factor, right?
Uh, she could be a superstar.
So I think you debut her as far as, you know, debuting her on the NBA. She's got that it factor, right? Uh, she could be a superstar.
So I think you debut her as far as, you know,
debuting her on the MVP, um, banner, so to speak
on this card on July 11th, you give her a big time
fight, there's a potential fight down the line
against Sky as we've talked about, maybe a
Serrano fight, uh, could be out there as well.
Like there's, there's, there's a lot, uh,
a Michaela Mayer rematch, who knows down down the line, that's been talked about as well.
I love the signing for them.
And I'm curious to see where they go from here.
Who else do they have, you know,
as far as like on their radar?
If they really go all in, there's some talent
that I think they could repackage and do big things with.
Yeah, agreed.
There'll be girls that have got like one or two fight deals
left on their contracts and MVP could potentially buy those contracts out. Or they could be let go for
free and just say, okay, go and work over there because we can't really find what to
do with you right now. I mean, there are so many good female fighters. Obviously we've
got Michaela Maia versus Sandy Ryan coming up. Lauren Price just fought recently and
looked really good against Tasha Jonas. So there are fights to make. And what we've seen
over the years, and again, Amanda Serrano is a perfect example, the ladies do jump through the weight
classes a lot quicker than the men. So although we might see someone at super featherweight and
think okay they can't fight a middleweight, sometimes you get those matchups. Look at
Michaela Meyer as an example of someone that's now moving up the weight classes having fought
Alicia Baumgarten a couple of years ago, a lower weight class. So these fights can happen.
There's not that many top tier female fighters, but if you group the ones together,
there could honestly be like a 140 super stacked sort of eight girls going against each other.
And Alicia Baumgartner could be in that.
So there's a lot of fights to be made.
Her linking up with MVP, do you think it increases the chances of a Serrano bomb garnered fight or decreases like you see them sitting there?
Decreases decreases because it feels like they're friendly now and I hated it when I saw that
That's the one thing that I didn't like and I always felt like that was a super fight two punches
Oh my god, incredible. That would have been incredible fight would take place in a phone booth
It would be honestly sensational.
It could happen, right?
I mean, if Amanda gets past Katie, then who knows if Amanda wants to continue.
That's a great fight for her, but it almost looks too friendly now.
It almost looks like, and that was an interesting picture as well, because it almost seems as
though Amanda's now more than just a fighter when it comes to MVP, or at least that's kind
of what I got from that photo of Jake.
It almost seemed as though she's now part of the team and maybe she's the one that is
used to build the female division.
Maybe it's her, maybe that's her job now.
You build the female division because let's be honest, Amanda's coming to the end.
So I almost feel like Amanda might take a different direction from boxing after Katie,
and that means there is no Alicia Baumgart in the fight.
But again, there are still so many good fights for Lisa to have if not Amanda
let's talk about this past weekend there were several fight cards that I want to
talk about let's start at the world famous Caribe Royale have you ever been
to the Caribe Royale in is it really world famous or you're just doing this?
no but it has okay it has become it has become somewhat of a boxing hub by the
way Batchroom has done a bunch of cards there.
MVP has done a bunch of cards.
By the way, have you been there?
It's a nice little venue.
Yeah, it is nice.
No, I've not been there.
What kind of capacity?
What was it?
Five, six?
So they have they have two.
There's one that's like two and there's one that's like 5k or so.
And I think that's good.
Yeah, it's not bad.
It's a nice little resort.
You wouldn't expect it in Orlando, but they've
got a pretty passionate, um, you know, I don't
know, fan base, if you will, by the way, I
didn't want to give a shout out to the great
Todd Grisham, who was supposed to work the
card and then got horrible food poisoning, uh,
the evening before the card.
And he said in his illustrious career and
he's worked everywhere and he's done glory and
he's done obviously boxing and WWE. He's never had to call in sick and he had to do so.
Wow.
Yeah.
So, uh, I feel for him, that's not fun.
You could imagine being, you know, cooped up in a hotel room with food poisoning
when you're in, you know, some random, you know, location.
So we do hope that he is feeling better, but, uh, there were several notable
performances, let's start with Edgar Berlanga, because I think he made a lot
of noise going into his fight and a lot of noise going into his fight,
and a lot of noise outside of his fight and in the aftermath.
Look, a great finish, a great stoppage.
His opponent, I don't know if we would call him top tier.
Would you call his opponent top tier?
I'm not sure. Look at this.
Why are you doing this? Why are you doing this?
You're setting me up.
Like, because you know, you know.
Jonathan Gonzalez, shout out.
You know, and this isn't a dig on Gonzalez, by the way.
I want to kind of vent my frustration
towards Edgar Balanga.
Why?
Gonzalez is who Gonzalez is because,
I mean, this is a disgrace of an opponent.
It's a disgrace.
I don't know if it's a matchmaker problem.
Am I, should I be pointing a finger at the matchmaker?
I don't know, but Balanga is a type of opponent now where you almost get to choose as well who you're fighting.
Yeah. They'll put a few names across the table and you can't, you and your team will pick who you
want to fight. If, and I mean this genuinely, this isn't me trying to have a joke around,
if Jake Paul announced that that was one of his opponents, Jake Paul would get stick.
You're 100% right. What's the difference between that guy and Andre August or Ryan Borland?
Nothing. No, no, no. Andre August is better. Yeah. Andre August is in better shape. Andre August
is hadn't been out the ring for 10 years, part of that being in jail. Yeah. This was a disgrace of
an opponent. You can't go from Canelo to that in a 168 division, which is full of talent.
Like honestly, even when I saw him on the
scales, he's opponent and honestly, the first thing I literally said, what are we doing?
Like what is this? Like is this just because you've got one fight left in your, your matrim
deal and you just say, okay, I'll fight anyone just to get out of the deal and renegotiate?
I don't know, but that shouldn't be allowed. Like Edgar Balanga shouldn't be allowed to
fight that kind of opponent. Edgar Balanga shouldn't be allowed to fight that kind of opponent.
Edgar Balanga would have fought a better opponent and I'm guessing anything between his first and
his tenth pro fight. So here we are now having just fought one of the best super middleweights of all
time. That's what you dropped down to? No, not for me. What did you make of his demeanor all week?
Because it was very clear that he was angry at Eddie Hearn. Why is he angry? You just fought Canelo. No, no, no. And Eddie
said, and so this is, I'm so happy you brought this up now. Go ahead, go ahead, go ahead.
Eddie said, and maybe it wasn't Eddie's right to disclose the amount of money that Edgar
Belango has got, but Eddie said that Edgar Belango in his last three fights, so the three
fights of Matron has made $12 million. $12 million. Now, if you were to
have told me a fight has made $12 million, I'll be, first thing I'd say, oh, that guy
must be a superstar. He must sell out arenas. He must sell, he must do massive numbers on
pay-per-view. Blanga could be that guy, but he's not that guy yet. He seems to be angry
at the job that Eddie's done. And I'm like, have I missed something? Eddie got you Canelo. When, if we've been honest, if we did it on a case of sort of, are you the next man up?
You weren't the next man up for Canelo. You jumped the queue a little bit. Eddie got you Canelo.
Yep.
And you're angry. Like somehow you deserve more. Honestly, it baffles me. I'm baffled. And the post fight interview was awkward as well with Chris Mannix.
No shame in what Mannix was doing. He did a great job.
He had to navigate this just sort of like awkward situation with Berlenga and Eddie standing right there.
And you know, I feel like Eddie does a great job of just kind of like walking into the fire.
Like he almost kind of enjoys these challenges, these awkward moments, but I think this one frustrates him though.
Yeah. I've been around Eddie. He set him up for a massive fight.
This is it. I've been around for Eddie for a few years and, um,
me and Eddie speak sort of away from the camera about some of these fighters and
sort of fighters that he's really invested in and fighters that he's trying to do
something with.
And I think he looks at a Belanger as someone that, you know, has a profile, you know, good
or bad, he'll sell a fight.
And he's probably thinking, I want to invest in you, but you almost seem ungrateful.
There has to be a thing where you sound a bit ungrateful here, dude.
Again, let's rewind leading up to the Canelo fight.
You were very thankful that I got to the Canelo fight you were very thankful that I got
the Canelo fight and all of a sudden this is what fight fans are treated to on the weekend just gone.
It's just it's it's really really bad and this is why people say boxing's broken and again I
disagree with the statement but looking at that that whole situation I can understand why some
people make an argument and say it's broken when I see things like that.
And you know what? It actually wouldn't surprise me if he re-signs with Matt Trim. Like you
see this, a fighter will do this, he'll complain all week, he'll complain in the aftermath,
you just got a cupcake fight with all due respect and then you'll be like, yeah, you
know, I'm going to go back because they were the best option for me. Is that crazy?
They gave him 12 million for free fights. Of course you're going to sign.
What door are you knocking on to get 12 million for free fights?
And you're allowed to fight that. But honestly, if Eddie does resign
Belanga, Belanga signs to Matrim. There has to be a stipulation of,
okay, these are the fights. No negotiations.
I think the best fight for him now is Caleb Plant.
And I don't know if he re-signs with Matrimon if he gets that fight.
And so maybe the best move is to sign with
PBC so you could get that.
I think everyone wants that fight.
They were going back and forth on social
media, Caleb was, was commenting on the fight
and whatnot that to me feels like here it is.
Uh, and then he had the nerve to hold that
NABL belt after that fight, even though he can't have it because he missed weight disgrace
Oh, yeah, by the way, Berlanger missed weight with like 15 pounds worth of jewelry
Around his there. I don't know anything to do with it. Yeah, I don't know. I don't know they had already the the morning weigh-ins
Yeah, I don't know that was an official way and that was just sort of a ceremonial one
But yeah, that is the fight to make a note
Maybe you just do fight-by-fight contracts. That's what most people are doing right now. You just
go to PBC, make that fight happen. You might have to sign a two fight deal, but there are
good 168 pound fighters over there. But I don't mind where he goes. I obviously do stuff
for Matrim. I don't care if he signs for Matrim. I just want to see Belanger in good fights
because I think there's a good fighter there. Losing to Canelo, no shame at all.
I just wanted to see him in good fights against legit guys.
Again, that guy on the weekend.
No, no.
Again, if Jake Paul were to have fought that guy, people would be absolutely smashing Jake
Paul.
Like, what's Jake Paul doing?
This is a disgrace.
We had Belanger, who is a knockout artist who just fought Canelo fighting that level of opponent.
Not good enough.
It's a great point.
So we go from one guy who didn't seem very grateful to a guy who did seem very
grateful and that's Omari Jones making his pro debut, the 2024 Olympian.
And by the way, uh, shout out to the IOC who, uh, it appears as though they are
going to bring back boxing in 28.
That was a big concern.
And you get talent like this. You get talent like Pat Brown. Either way, you get talent like this. Shout out to the IOC who, uh, it appears as though they are going to bring back boxing in 28.
That was a big concern and you get talent like this.
You get talent like Pat Brown.
I loved what Omari Jones did in his debut.
Obviously it was a fight set up for him to win.
I love more importantly, how he looked.
He had the old school Orlando magic trunks.
He fights out of Orlando, fighting in
Orlando on this night.
He looked great.
And I loved afterwards, Eddie gets on the microphone said, we're turning
him around.
He'll fight on that April 12th card in Atlantic City.
Let's go jump on the train.
Seems like a big time prospect that that matchroom is signed coming out of the US.
A lot of people excited about him.
What'd you think?
Yeah, fantastic.
Good looking kid as well.
And I like the way you mentioned the Orlando shorts.
I mean, this is how you build a star, right? You put him on you put him on a show in his hometown against someone
Yes that he can beat but someone he can look good at a good against sorry and he looked good that combination to end
The fight was fantastic. He talks well, and I think I joked about it last week because he said
What did he say that he is Muhammad Ali Floyd Mayweather Roy Jones was saying rolled into one. I look I mean, obviously
That's that's a ridiculous thing,
but this guy has confidence.
That's what that shows.
He has confidence in his ability,
he has confidence in the way in which he talks,
and Eddie has a lot of confidence in him as well.
Like this match from Journey to America,
Eddie needs to kind of make it work
in terms of get a star from scratch,
build him, and then he become a champion.
He's close with Pacheco,
I think Pacheco is going to be maybe the first one. Raymond Ford's another one, but he wants
more and Amari could be that guy that Eddie really thinks could take it to the next level,
because he seems to have a bit of stardust, some magic stardust around him. So I'm very excited
about him. Another American that you could potentially put into that bucket is Amal Williams, who, you know, Matrim has had high hopes for.
He lost to Hamza Shiraz on the 5v5 card
back in June of last year in Riyadh,
won since then, and then was put in this main event slot.
And I thought it looked really good.
This is a guy who has a great story
in the sense that he is easy to root for.
You know, Eddie talks about how they were concerned
for his health and safety.
Like he had massive mental health issues.
He's about to become a father in about, you
know, a month's time.
He has really turned his life around.
He has got the proper people around him.
He has found a home.
He has found a good, you know, coaching
staff around him.
And, uh, he seems to be rebuilding himself.
Uh, a guy again again who is very easy
to root for if you ask me. Yeah he's just such a nice guy. I've been lucky enough to speak to him
a few times and I can see the difference in him. I remember speaking to him maybe about three years
ago and you could almost still see the sort of the trouble. When you look deep into his eyes you
could sense that he's someone that is going through something and then having spoken to him
in the lead-up to the Hamza Shiraz fight
It's a completely different human being now. He's now someone as you say that believes in himself
He's settled mentally and and he's a good fighter. He's a very very good fighter. Look will he become a world champion?
I don't know just because I mean we saw Carlos Adamas. We saw Adam Canale
They're a very good champions in the middleweight division. This was a tough fight for him on Saturday
I think the scorecards maybe didn't reflect that one 18.18, 1.10. I think one of the judges gave it to him. It was a lot
tighter than that. But this is it now. This is, okay, so rebuild him slowly then go again. This
is two fights, as you say, after the Hamza defeat. Now the next one will be a tough one. But I like
Ammo. I wish him all the best. Sometimes I do look at his frame and I think could he make 154?
Because a lot of the 160 guys are a lot bigger than him
But maybe he's just sort of the perfect size for the weight and the other guys are killing themselves to make it
He just sometimes looks a bit undersized for me, but he's got a good punch power. He's got a good boxing iq
He's just a very good fighter
I don't know if he's got enough to get to that very elite world level,
but who knows, I hope I'm wrong.
Some other news and notes from around the weekend,
and I wanna get back to Saturday in a moment,
but I wanna go to Sunday now here in New York
at the theater, just a few blocks
from where we sit right now.
Callum Walsh is someone that Dana White
and the brass at TKO are very high on.
He fought on this Sunday evening card
the night before St. Patrick's Day.
He hails from Ireland.
They are pushing him.
He is like the face of TKO boxing, whatever TKO boxing is.
And he had a somewhat like comical knockout.
It was like out of a movie,
the way he knocked Dean Sutherland out,
where like he punches Dean
and Dean just kind of like spins around.
It was like a Looney Tunes type of knockout,
but it was the type of knockout that he needed.
Dana was in attendance, Big E of WWE fame is in attendance,
Hunter Campbell of the UFC in attendance as well.
And it still seems like the jury is out on Calum Walsh.
Like, is he really this guy
that they're trying to say that he is?
They went to the three arena with him last year,
didn't sell all that well,
but he's still relatively young.
From what you've seen of Calum Walsh,h like do you think the ceiling is as high as Dana and and
and the whole UFC machine is leading us to believe I don't know and I know that
the jury's out yeah yeah the jury's out because the level of opponents on ones
where you can you know if you beat someone of note whether it be a former
champion or another prospect coming up,
because that's what he is, still a prospect,
then you're like, okay, I see something here.
He's in a red hot 154 pound division
that we're going to speak to,
one of the kings of that division very soon.
And that's the level he needs to get to.
And even just below that, there are guys like Xander Zayas,
who's below the champions, who's just above Callum.
So you need to get to Xander's
level. So it's kind of difficult. With Prospects you kind of fed opponents in your first sort of
15 fights and that's kind of what's happening right now. He's been fed opponents but I will say this,
the finish on the weekend was fantastic. He's clearly got punch power, he's charismatic,
he was on the mic saying you know we as Irish are here to take over, very reminiscent of a former UFC champion.
So he does what he needs to do.
A lot of pressure on him, but I mean, you got the back end of Dana, you got the back
end potentially of TKO, you're going to get good fights and potentially he could do some
things.
But I think we need to see the level go up now.
It's been a bit too easy for him.
It's a bit of a cakewalk.
Let's see, let's see him test some deep waters,
and then we'll have answers to those questions.
You know what's interesting about that?
The thing that Dana has always sort of criticised boxing about
are these cupcake match-ups.
And here's the first guy that he's hitched his wagon to in the boxing world,
and how are they building him up? With cupcake matches.
He's already now into like his 13th, I think, 13th or 14th pro fight,
and it's been all cupcake matchups.
Like if anything, the move in my opinion would
have been like, all right, we're going to show
you that we do things differently around here.
We're going to throw them into the fire in his
third or fourth fight.
Like the way Andy Cruz has been treated or David
Morel, like sub 10 fights, we're going to
throw you into the fire.
It's been the complete opposite.
It's been the same old, same old as, as what
everyone else does.
Now I, I don't begrudge it because that's just the
boxing playbook, but you can't tell us that we're going to do things differently and the
first guy that you promote, you're doing it the exact same way.
Yeah, or you've got to be honest about where the kid is. I mean, don't get on the mic and
say this kid's the next superstar boxing. Let's just rein it in a little bit. The conversation
around him and say, okay, look, we've got to do this with him. You still got
to learn this, learn that. And then we're like, okay, cool. Uh, but if you're telling
us he is the next best thing, we, as fortunately as boxing fans don't believe that until we
see it in the ring. So you've almost got to do one or two things here. You reign the conversation
around him in a little bit, just a little bit, or you match him hard and just go for it. And right
now they're doing neither. And that's why I guess there's this question mark. So again, I think he's
a talented kid, but I've seen so many, as would have used in so many guys that have been called
the next best thing. And as soon as they take that next step up, they get found out. So let's see
what happens with them. And I'm not talking about a crazy step. Just a couple of steps up
Let's see what you got because that opponent on Sunday
Again, I mean what we learning from that would you get out doing that? Yes, you got punch power
But against who you don't know much from that. So yeah, I don't know. We'll see we'll see in the next or 12 to 18 months
They got a nice scene. They got a nice scene the night before
St. Patrick's Day, by the way, uh, I do want to
send my good wishes to Thomas Cardi, the
previous undefeated Irish heavyweight who blew
out his knee in a fight that he obviously
should have won, uh, a horrible turn of events
for him.
And, and we do hope that he makes a speedy
recovery.
All right, let's go to this weekend, Ade,
because we have a very special guest who's
joining us from all the way over in Las Vegas.
They call him the towering inferno. to me he is must-see TV.
Anytime he fights, anytime Sebastian Fundora fights the WBO and WBC light middleweight champion,
anytime he fights it's must-see TV because he has such a presence.
And the last time we saw him was about a year ago and now we're seeing him this weekend over on the
PBC card. He is defending his titles and he's going up against Chordell Booker.
And it's been so long.
It's almost like a y'all must have forgot situation with Sebastian Fandora, who's kind
enough to join us right now.
Sebastian, thank you very much for the time.
Welcome to the program.
Can I ask off the bat, why has it been a year almost since your last fight, March of 24?
Well, first off, thank you guys for having me.
You know, it's just that's boxing.
The business side of boxing is a lot different from the sport of boxing.
We were ready to fight.
We jumped back into camp back in May.
It's just there's a lot of fights and different ideas and we just landed on Booker.
So that's just really what happened.
You're coming off, you know, probably I I think it's safe to say, the most high profile win of your career, the win over Tim Tzu.
And thus you want to probably jump back in there and keep that momentum going.
The fact that you haven't been able to do that, has this been a frustrating year for you coming off that gigantic win?
Actually, no, no, it hasn't. I've been training this whole time, watching my sister win the undisputed crown.
So you know, I've been learning a lot more things, maturing, I'm 27 now.
So all these fights are going to happen when they're going to happen.
It's going to be with God's timing.
I'm so happy you mentioned your sister Gabriella because she must be a motivation for you now.
I mean, again, not just undisputed, but female fight of the year as well.
Is there like a bit of sibling rivalry there just because of what she's done in the last
sort of 12 to 18 months?
Not sibling rivalry.
It's a competition of course, but the fact that she got there and she beat me already
to it.
So it's expectations are high now.
I know I can do
as well. So now it's just to catch up and, and, and do it and become undisputed siblings at the
same time, simultaneously. That would be crazy. Obviously, look, you say that the business of
boxing and that's the reason you've been out for a year, but it must be frustrating. You seem to
be okay with it because you know the sport, but there's been so many big fights you've been linked with before chardell
There was an Errol Spence that fight seemed to be on and off and on and off
How frustrating has it been missing the big ones again not overlooking what's coming up this weekend?
But you've been linked with so many big names in the last 12 months and we haven't been able to see you get those fights
over the line
Again, it's just the business of boxing, you know, these names are thrown out. They can come into
the ring. They can talk to you on social media, call you out. But not until that contract is right
there and signed, you won't have that fight for sure. You know, all these big names, they're going
to have to fight us eventually too, if they do want these two titles. So, you know,
just as an aside, getting away from the business of boxing, this is something that I've always
wanted to ask you. Did you, did you ever play basketball growing up? Because that's the
first six foot five. I'm like, at some point he must have played basketball. And if so,
were you any good? Typically fighters aren't great basketball players. If I'm being honest,
perhaps you were different. But tell us the backstory here. How does a six foot five youngster
get into boxing and not the more traditional sports?
Well, I never actually played basketball.
But boxing has always been a thing in my life.
My older brother started boxing. My father was a professional fighter, so he showed us his sport very young.
I remember having gloves on my whole life.
So this is something very familiar to me and something I would have always picked in every lifetime I lived.
You're still in your 20s, 27, currently obviously the champ at 154. Do you foresee as you get older and given your frame, given your height, that eventually you'll have to move up?
And if so, how far away are we from that?
I don't know, I
don't know. Right now I make 154 very very comfortably. I make it, I've been
making this camp a lot more comfortably to make 154 than the last one before and
not that it was a problem but I'm making it even easier. So a lot of people say
the older you get the harder the weight, harder to make weight but you know
it's right now it's pretty, pretty easy. It's
a breeze. We'll see in the future, you know, it's up to God to, to, to, for that honestly,
because if it was up to me, maybe I'd be a heavyweight, but I can't make that weight.
We had Virgil Ortiz on last week and we asked him about his hit list. I spoke to Virgil
a few months ago and you were on his hit list. He said yourself, he said Boots Ennis, he said Terrence Crawford.
Did you have a hit list as well fights that in an ideal world, if everyone came
to the table that you'd love to have in 2025?
Uh, I like to fight everybody.
I like to fight every, I'm not afraid of anybody.
I'm not a shy away from anybody.
It's just a come, let's get it.
You know, I have these two titles.
I think they have to fight me now. So.
Yeah, that's it. Right. I mean, you're the man. Yeah. You're the man in the division.
You look at the belts, you're the man. Right. No one else has got two belts that you do.
Let's talk about Booker. Obviously look, just a one defeat. And it was almost like a shock
defeat when he lost to Emma Williams, when he got stopped since then. He's looked pretty
good. I think he's ruled off, I think four or five five wins on the balance what do you make of him as an opponent?
We know him as a softball fighter anything else really the research was done by my father
I just listened to what he tells me to do and do in the ring.
We talk about those belts WBCWBO belts, you're the proud titleholder right now.
We are in a period where those belts are coming into question with this talk of getting rid of the sanctioning bodies and the three-letter belts and all that stuff.
I've seen you weigh in on this. Your thoughts on this potential movement of getting away from those belts and kind of radicalizing, changing the sport the way it's been over the past hundred plus years?
I like the belts. I like the four belts. It gives everybody a chance to become
something and then it makes it for more exciting fights in the future. Everybody
wants to see a champion versus a champion, the best versus the best. With
these belts, it gives you the opportunity with this sport. Uh, if you take it away, I mean, it could be a positive thing.
So for whatever they're doing with this sport or what they want to do with this
sport, as long as it is good for boxing, it's always going to be good with me.
Do you, do you pay attention to any of this stuff?
Do you, do you stay up to date?
Like, do you even know what I'm talking about here with all of this or, cause
you seem very like tunnel vision especially before a big fight
Do you not go on the websites or go on social media and and look at all the stuff because it has been a a wild
two plus weeks in the sport
Boxing news I do keep updated with but uh and I know exactly what you're talking about. Okay, but again
We're focused on this fight, you know, I have these two titles. So of course I'm gonna be siding with the titles
focused on this fight. I have these two titles, so of course I'm going to be siding with the titles.
Is it a hope though to stay busy this year? Again, Ariel mentioned it. It isn't just a case of one fight last year. The year before it was only one fight as well. And for me,
you're one of the most exciting fighters in boxing right now. Someone I want to see fight a lot more.
Obviously, look, fingers crossed, touch wood, no injuries. Is it a case of, okay, we need to stay active this year?
Two or three fights minimum.
Absolutely, absolutely.
That's how you continue to grow in the sport.
Not with just the fan base, but yourself.
I would really hope to fight at least three times this year, but we'll see what happens.
I'm not the business of boxing, I'm just the guy who gets into the ring.
Sebastian, I want to answer. Don't go around the who gets into the ring. Sebastian, I want to answer.
Don't, don't, don't go around the houses with me on this one.
I really want to answer your dream fights, Sebastian.
Come on. There are so many top one 54 guys out there.
So many, right?
I mean, even one 60 guys,
cause you've got the frame to put on the extra six pounds.
What's the dream fight though?
I know you have one.
I know you do.
I know you and your team are thinking
if we get past Saturday,
there's a big one that we want to fight right now we have one in mind you gotta be a smart boxer too you gotta
that's good defense on your part you're evading all these punches uh not talking about any of
these guys's well done well done can I ask you, I saw on your social media about a year ago you went to a Lucha Libre event I think in Mexico.
What did you think of that? Look at you guys over there. There's you, there's your sister.
Oh great. It was a great time. Great time. When we go to Mexico City they always treat
us as if we're from there. So big shout out to Mexico City. I love them. You know, if
I ever plan on moving I'll probably move over there. So, you know, the wrestling was great.
The wrestling was real great.
I think, I think maybe after boxing, you know,
and this is just an idea.
I'm not really, well, I don't know you actually.
I think I have the height.
I think I have the entertaining performance to do it too.
But maybe, we'll go study wrestling one day.
I love this.
I love this.
I'm a big wrestling guy. I love this. I love that. I'm a big wrestling guy.
I love this. How far away are we from this? Have you, have you dabbled? Have you gone in the ring
at all? I haven't, I haven't, but I feel like it's something that will come natural to me.
Oh yes. Six foot five guy, your frame, your speed, your quickness. I think you'd be a perfect fit.
Definitely, definitely, definitely. Hopefully, hopefully. Fingers crossed, fingers crossed.
Sebastian, just the one defeat on the resume, and it was one that I think surprised a few as well.
What did you learn from that defeat?
Was it just, it was a shock for me seeing you get stopped like that.
Was it a case of, okay, we need to go back and change a few things?
Or was it just a case of a bad day in the office?
I think it was just as simple as you got to pay attention. You got to be focused the whole fight.
You can't get bored.
And, uh, I think that's what happened during the fight.
I got a little bored and suffered because of it.
You got bored.
You got bored.
Imagine getting bored in the middle.
Like, did your mind just start trailing off?
Like, were you thinking about something else?
How do you get bored in a, in a fist fight?
I feel like once, once the fight, you kind of know when the fights yours already you can see him breaking down
I remember a lot of people after a fight you were winning. He was already going out. He's already going out, but you know
You lower your defense you start making mistakes and and mistakes like that cost you the whole fight
Can I ask you about box med? What is BoxMed that you just joined up with?
BoxMed is a program with WBC. It's I think for the weigh-ins, the 30-day weigh-in, the 14-day weigh-in, the 7-day weigh-in.
So you don't have to send it in to... and it's an app. It's an app that you get on the phone.
I think it's just to help with the medicals and the weigh-in
program with championship fights.
Are you a boxing fan?
Do you watch a lot of boxing Sebastian?
Absolutely.
Okay, cool.
This is good.
Crawford Canelo.
I have Canelo.
I have Canelo.
I think he's too big for Crawford.
Crawford's big too.
I met both of them already. Uh already and they're both heavy guys.
But I think the fact that Canelo has been in this 168 division for a while now, it's
going to be the difference.
He's going to be comfortable at that weight.
If someone approached you about a super fight with you jumping a couple of weight classes,
would you do it?
I can't.
I can't. I wish I could. If I could fight Anthony Joshua, I would, wouldn't I?
I mean, you got the height.
Definitely.
It's the same height as AJ.
Yeah.
Yep, yep.
Okay, here's the hardest question of them all. You could be in an episode of Dragon Ball Z,
you could be a character in Tekken,
or get your own Funko Pop.
Which are you choosing?
Dragon Ball Z, easy man.
As soon as you said Dragon Ball Z,
I was like, oh, I'll pick that.
That's the one?
I'm Goku, dude.
Which one's that?
I've left the building.
I don't even know what you guys are talking about.
What is this?
I have no idea what you're talking about.
We were talking about a Japanese cartoon.
Ah, boomer. talking about a Japanese cartoon.
Boomer. He's a boomer. Don't mind him. He's an old man. I was excited about the fun- I love the Funkos. I don't have any on the- oh, I got a couple over there. You're a big Funko guy, right?
I do have Funkos. I do have- but I only have Dragon Ball Z Funkos. Oh, okay. All right. So that supersedes. How is it going down this weekend? How do you see it playing out?
With me in my hand raised. That's it. All right. That's the most important thing looking forward to it. Thanks for joining us That's a great venue over there in Las Vegas
It'll always be the Mandalay Bay to me and looking forward to watching this weekend on Amazon Prime
Thank you so much for the time and good luck to the best. Thank you guys for having me. Thank you
What a family.
Perhaps the most gifted family when it comes to boxing right now, it's them or the Dubois,
right?
By the way, that should be the tag team match.
That's steady.
I mean, he's tall, but Dubois is a bit too big.
Daniel and Caroline versus Sebastian and Gabriella.
I mean, she was female fighter of the year.
You've thrown me like a nice little
question there that the who's the family in boxing the best obviously look
that's interesting right now right now the best brother sister duo it would
have to say I mean it would be it would be either the Dubois or the Fandora's
right yeah the Fand Funduras by some distance.
You think so?
Yeah, one undisputed and one unified, yeah.
By some distance.
By some distance, by some distance.
Don't show your face around London.
I mean, you're going against those guys.
They're doing pretty damn good for themselves.
They are, they are.
He's so relaxed and cool and calm.
You would never think he's a boxer, right?
Nor the sister, honestly and then it is kick
your backside um i do look no disrespect to booker i think i think most want the superfights right
and you i think we spoke to virgin and even virgin said he wants fendora to win so he can set that
fight up there's so many good fights to make 154 pounds and almost feel like he's a bit
disrespected fendora he's the unified jam But I think if you were to ask people kind of list your top two or three, I don't know
if people have been Dora is number one.
I think people kind of for some reason go elsewhere when the record books again, the
belt say he is the man to beat right now.
So so many big fights out there for him.
Backram, obviously the IBF champion, Virgil, we like to see Xander Zayas is coming up as
well. There are rumors about Jamel Charlo sort of reappearing.
So some good fights in 25.
We're sure, yeah.
Madrimof, let's not discount Madrimof
because of one defeat, yeah, or two.
That will be later in the evening, Ade,
on Saturday here in the United States.
Saturday morning, March 22nd, over in Sydney,
but we'll get it Saturday morning
here in the United States,
it will be Matchroom's first official card in Sydney, Australia. It's a great card headline,
of course, by George Kambosis. You've got the matchup that a lot of people in women's boxing
are excited about, Sky Nicholson against Tiara Brown, and a rematch of a fight that we talked
about at the very beginning of the program, a rematch of
the fight between Shernika Johnson, Sugar Neeks Johnson going up against Nina Hughes
for the WBA Bantamweight title.
One of the most bizarre endings to a fight that we have ever seen.
They righted the wrong and perhaps as a result of the mistake by the ring announcer, they
are running it back.
And so let us say hello, let us say good day.
It's very early in the morning over there to Shernika Johnson, who is kind enough to join us. How are you Shrinika? Thank you so much for the
time. Can I ask you off the bat, we were talking about this, we were wondering if the ring announcer
didn't make that mistake, do you think you're fighting Nina Hughes again?
No, if the ring announcer didn't make that mistake, I feel like we're going on to other fights rather than rematch.
Is that annoying?
Um, a little bit, but you know, it is what it is. I'm happy just to be back in fighting again.
I'm fascinated to know what was going through your head as all that played out. I know this is kind of old news and it's probably sort of us going over old ground, but I'm still kind of
fascinated because I honestly forgot about it until Ariel showed me the clip again I was like oh my god I remember
that. What was going through your head when he kind of said okay I made the mistake and now
you're the winner? Man it was like honestly a roller coaster of emotions like
you're like okay you have to just humbly accept that you've sort of like lost but feeling
like you did enough to win.
And then it's like, no, we made it.
The announcer made a wrong call and you're the winner.
And then it's like to go from such a low to such a high.
It's sort of a feeling you can't really explain.
You know, I had envisioned me winning the whole time through, um, that last training camp and for that to not play out how I had envisioned it was, um, yeah, it was very confusing.
Did you speak to Nina after like in the ring or did you go back stage and speak to her?
No, um, not directly after, um, I think we went out the back and, you know, just had a bit of a, you
know, it is what it is.
Um, obviously, um, she was quite upset.
Her whole team was quite upset with the, um, thinking that the scores were
changed rather than the announcer making a mistake.
Um, so yeah, I think there's, I don't know whether it's upon me or the judges, but I think there's a little bit of
tension controversy now between the teams. Have you seen her or her team this week in Sydney?
We did bump into each other. We did cross paths. I'm here to do a job and I'm worried about me. I'm
not too worried about what they're doing or what energy is that bringing around. I'm here to do a job and I'm worried about me. I'm not too worried about what they're doing or
what energy is that bringing around. I'm very good at protecting my own energy and stand in my own
line. So yeah, I've got full eyes on the prize. Were they trying to step to you? Were they trying
to create some negative energy? No, not that I could feel. Not that I could feel. Okay.
Ariel, such a troublemaker. No, no, I mean, I just, I wasn't sure what you were getting at.
Staying in your own lane, it sounded like someone was trying to get you off your path.
I don't know.
By the way, can we confirm that the great David Diamante is going to be the ring announcer
and he rarely makes mistakes?
Is he going to be the one doing the business there on Saturday?
I'm not too sure who the announcer is, but I would happily go with not having the same
announcer as last time you made the mistake.
I can confirm it is David Diobanti.
Okay, perfect.
I can confirm it is David.
I can confirm.
We were talking a bit earlier about Alicia Baumgartner signing to MVP promotions and the
push that Jake Paul looks like he's given female boxing.
Where is it right now? Because I almost feel like,
a couple of years ago, it felt massive.
Everyone was getting paid, loads of big fights,
maybe not so much anymore.
You are a female fighter.
How good is it right now, or how bad is it,
or does it need improving? Where is it?
That's a good question, and I feel like it depends on who I guess who is backing you
and who is supporting you. It's really like I woke up to the news this morning and seeing that
Alicia had signed to MVP. I was like oh this is awesome you know they're really doing a build for
women's boxing and trying to make it just just huge and then you've got the rematch of Cady Taylor
and Amanda Serrano happening.
That's yet again going to be another huge, fantastic fight.
In terms of, you know, boxing, women's boxing just keeps growing and growing.
And I'm excited to be in it at this time, because I feel like it's exciting, it's entertaining,
and hopefully soon women can, you know, be recognized for creating great quality fights.
And that's what you do, right?
I mean, I think British fight fans will know you from that war you had with Ellie Scotney.
And we want to see you over here again and fight some of our girls.
That was that super bantamweight.
Obviously this is bantamweight.
Which weight class do you prefer?
Where do you feel like you're at your best?
Do you know what, honestly, I feel very strong and I feel like I'm a solid
Bantonweight, the last weigh-in that I had, I think I come in close
to the weight division below.
So when I felt like I was in the ring with Allie, I think I
looked a little bit smaller.
So I'm definitely campaigning to
Stay at band and wait for a bit. But if an opportunity come up at
Super again, I I would definitely look at it by the way regarding
You know the promotional topic that last fight was on a top-rank card this a matchroom card. Who who are you tied to promotionally?
At the moment, I'm currently with Debella. So yeah Nina is also with Debella
and we've happened to get a spot on this card. The great Lou Debella, I had him in studio last week.
What a character he is. What's it like working with him? And he's quite the straight shooter
when it comes to the current state of boxing. Do you get that type of demeanor from him,
the type of straight shooter type answers
that we expect from Lou?
He's a very straight shooter, even with myself, sometimes a little bit confronting.
So yeah, I've sort of left him to deal with my manager at the moment, which has been good.
Okay.
And yes, I do believe you are managed by a Montrealer, right?
Matt Cassavan.
Yes, Matt Cassavan. He's, he's helped me out heaps and you're
taking away a lot of stress. So he can he can deal with Lou.
Adi, it's very good to have a mild mannered, polite
Montrealer in between the Australian and the very loud
and abrasive New Yorker. It's it's it's a good move. I think
you'd made the right
That I can imagine that I can imagine what we are seeing, the very loud and abrasive New Yorker. It's a good move. I think you'd made the right call. It's a good match. Yeah, I think so too.
I can imagine. What we are seeing though, Enix, is so many good fights now in Australia. So many big
fights as well. So many stars, Jarpa, Tyre's coming through. Obviously, George Kambosos every
time he fights back in Australia. Big fights. Liam Parrow, I think is going to be there soon.
Another big fight. There's loads of stuff going on now in Australia, right, in terms of boxing. It seems to be bigger than it's ever been.
I think that Australia has gone under the radar a little bit in terms of the quality of fighters
that we have and the level I guess that we can produce. And as you said dry up entirely and power George Ken Bosa
Scar Nicholson, there's so many
world-class athletes here
fighters full-class fighters
That said I do believe 17 of your 18 pro fights have been in Australia. Are you are you ready to spread your wings?
Are you ready to spread my wings?
Are you ready to spread your wings? Are you ready to come stateside?
I would love to spread my wings.
I'm so ready to spread my wings.
Come over here, come to America.
I would love to.
So why is it?
Is it just because you have the fan base there?
You have the following there?
No, it's just the opportunities that are presented.
Obviously Promotive presents the fight
and I would have loved to have fought many times,
another at least, once or twice last year,
but that didn't happen.
All things out of my control,
but I would love to spread my wings, fight in front of,
I guess, you know, the American fans, the Canadian fans,
just, yeah.
If you could paint the perfect scenario for yourself,
you get by Nina again, Where's the next fight?
Who's the next fight against?
Um, I do have a little bit of an idea of what I would like, but I want to focus on.
Oh, you can't do that.
Oh, no, no, no.
Give us something.
Give us a little taste.
Don't tease it and take it away.
Call your shot.
You know, I would love to, to obviously unify the rest of the bouts.
I know Sharita's got the IBF and then Deena Thurston has WBC.
So I would love to make those fights happen, unify there.
And then if opportunities come out, come about to come back up to Superbannon,
that's always an option I'd look at as well.
And where? I love it. I love it. The hit list. She's got the hit list.
Where would this be?
Wherever the promoter can put it on. I just want to fight.
You know what, you know what they need? They desperately need like a world box
and super series for, for a lot of the ladies, they like, they're waiting too
long. Like again, I mean, you can hear the nexus frustration
in some of just waiting for a big fight, a big opportunity.
It's pretty much been like almost a year since,
you know, myself and Nina last fought.
As fighters, we're in the gym all the time.
We're ready, you know, at least two or three times a year
would be great.
Can I, on that question, can I can I again this might be a personal one do you do you have to kind of find work outside of boxing because of that
because you are waiting 12 months to kind of get paid to have another fight I mean has there been
a conversation like inwardly about okay this is taking too long I might need to go and get a job?
about, okay, this is taking too long, I might need to go and get a job?
Well, thankfully, I am on OnlyFans and got a good sponsorship from OnlyFans. So that's been a lifesaver in terms of not having to worry about working and getting a second income because what's
one payday per year is not even minimum wage in Australia. But if I didn't have that platform,
then most definitely I'd be trying to have to do
some sort of work to fit in with my training program.
By the way, did you and Adé set that up?
Because I feel like he teed you up perfectly
to promote the other.
I feel like most, you've been quite open
about the OnlyFans.
Did you like, that was like a softball down the middle,
as we say here in America.
Good thing I on there.
Well done.
Wait a minute, wait a minute.
I didn't even know about this.
That was perfect, well done.
If you guys set that up, well done, well done.
Can I ask?
I want my commission, I want my commission right now.
Sky Nicholson, Tiara Brown,
are you siding with the fellow Aussie?
Yeah, definitely. I think she's just going to be too sharp, too fast.
She's great at what she does and she's the best at it.
I just feel like Tiara's got like an aggressive energy and Sky's going to play on that and do what she does best.
Looking forward to that. Looking forward to your return, looking forward to an emphatic victory, no controversy this time around and of course the return of George
Kambosas as well. Good luck to you. Thank you. Great to talk to you again. Looking forward to it.
Thank you. See you soon. There she is. Sugar Neeks, Shanika Johnson. Wait a minute. Wait a minute.
You said looking forward to an emphatic victory. What? One second. Yeah. We're just going against
Nina? No, I say. Is this what we're doing? No, but I said. You just said to her, good, yeah, yeah, I said looking forward to an emphatic victory. What one second? Yeah, we're just going against Nina No, I say so we're doing no, but I said you just said to her. I'm good the good looking forward to an emphatic victory
No controversy on the back end of now. I said no
Controversy because look, you know, we're honestly if look we talked about Lamont and tank and I know you're winding me up
It's all good
If I'm Nina Hughes and that happens in Australia, I don't blame her for
saying like, what? What just happened here? Like we've seen some shady stuff in boxing.
So I don't blame her. They had to run it back. I can understand why she may feel some sort
of way. No doubt about it.
I'm shocked. Obviously look, Nikes are the champions and Nina has to go to a backyard,
so to speak. But I'm sure that Nina didn't try and get that somewhere else because of
what happened
Hmm because that is that's as bad as it gets it again. You can't blame Nina for thinking one second
This is it's a bit of corruption here going on. This is something so underneath the table, but it wasn't
I think most people said neeks did win the fight
But the only way to settle it once and for all is to run it back and it should be a little good scrap
So George Campos is headlining the card. He's now headlining against Jake Wiley, a late replacement.
They, they saved that one.
Uh, it feels like the Sky Nicholson, uh, Tiara Brown fight is sort of like
the people's main event, uh, of this card.
But, uh, to your point, uh, and there you have it to your point, uh, this,
you know, this is a big deal for matchroom.
Uh, the Australian boxing scene is blowing up.
It is already blown up as far as MMA is
concerned and it does feel like, Hey, this
is our first fight with George.
Let's get this one out of the way.
It's a nice homecoming of sorts.
It's a homecoming for, for Sky, uh,
Terra Mana, Terra Mana is on the card as well.
He's a big time prospect.
And then there could be a big fight for
the likes of George and even likes of Sky.
Although for Sky, this feels like the test that everyone has been waiting for.
This could be a huge night, like in the aftermath,
you know, if the Australians sweep,
this could be a massive, you know, shades of,
I was talking to Gunnar Nelson earlier today
of when the UFC went to Ireland
and all the Irish fighters won,
it feels like a situation that is being set up
for that type of evening for the yeah could be it could be I mean
Look obviously that with George there's a plan there right that plan looks like it's Richardson Hitchens Richardson wants that fight
George seems to want that fight as well. I know some people say how does George get a title fight, but
Play the game a little bit. That's how George gets the title fight and for Sky here. This is the one right?
She's in there against a puncher
Someone that isn't gonna maybe sort of fall for the way Sky moves around the ring.
Someone that's going to come straight at her.
Someone that's been calling out Sky for the best part of the last two years.
You get it now.
You get your wish.
So, I think it's a massive night for Australian boxing.
And I want, the thing is, I want there to be more Australian events.
Not a case of all these guys and girls win and then they go to America or
the UK or Saudi to have fights. Let's build up sort of big events in Australia. We saw Keith
Furman fight there last week and yes it wasn't a big event but Keith was there. He looks like he
could fight Zarafa or Tim Tzu. So they've now got a lot of fighters in Australia that can sell out
arenas, put a lot of bums on seats. So I think maybe have big events there as opposed to the stars winning
and then transferring to America.
Uh, let's go back to this weekend, this past weekend.
What about Nick ball?
I mean, the wrecking ball that is always in fun fights, but can we talk
about the end of the first round?
Can we talk about this moment over here?
What happened?
A little Muay Thai, a little, uh, a little leg kick, a little calf kick.
Should he have been disqualified?
Not the best angle there.
You'll see the secondary, here it is.
The guillotine first from TJ.
And then the bam, straight to the calf slash quad.
Should that have been a TQ?
Maybe a point taken.
He got nothing.
He got like a little warning.
That was it.
And I'm like, not even a point taken
so you can just kick someone?
I mean, don't get me wrong.
TJ kind of orchestrated it by the headlock,
as you say, the guillotine,
but there was nothing in that.
And then Nick was frustrated and you can't kick someone.
And I'm a big Nick Ball fan, but you just can't kick what we're doing.
You can't kick someone.
So the referee should have gave him a point and he later on did take a point
away in the fight and I almost felt like he did that because he knew he made a
mistake in round one by not taking a point.
He's like, Oh, I'm going to take a point away from you now.
Yeah.
Um, but yeah, he shouldn't have done that.
That was the one blemish on the night.
What was a fantastic night for Nick Bull. You can't do that. Yeah, that was, um, you know, that was in Liverpool as well.
And then it, you know, it brings up the, uh, you know, the home, you know, like, oh, like, oh, you're not going to reprimand, you know, it's back to the tank stuff.
And I know, and I agree you work, but it's like, oh, you're not ramp around the ape side Um a great performance 100% because if that was tj tj is getting a point taken sure
There's no two ways about it. You're right if nick goes down a riot
There would be a riot because if nick then goes down and he actually is injured. Oh my lord
There's a problem there
So yeah
They they need to look at that and it's weird because it was boarding over from the way and they they kind of went nose
To nose at the way in these two and they had to be separated at the way in as well and we don't see Nick sort of react like that at all.
No one gets under his skin but TJ seemed to find a way to get under his skin and it was working for TJ
because the first four rounds you could argue and say he was winning and then Nick sort of does what
Nick does sort of goes to another gear that no one seems to be able to compete with and then that was it.
Another great win, another great fight and then afterwards he gets into this back and forth with Naoya in a way
I was like, oh damn and and and then I'm thinking like is is
Nick at that level, you know what I mean?
Like I think it would be a fight that a lot of people would be excited about obviously in a way fighting in May and there
Seems to be some big plans for him potentially in December in Riyadh has has been discussed do you think Nick Ball is at
the level or ready to fight the likes of the monster Noe in a way? Yeah 100%
100% I mean especially if you look at Inoue's most recent opponents I mean
Inoue fought Tahoney yeah look at who Inoue is gonna fight coming up as well
Cardenas yeah unless unless Inoue is fighting Ak fighting akma dali of or nakatani
Then I can't see why people would have any problem with nick ball. Nick ball is legit. Like nick ball is legit
He's a world champion
It's just the one sort of blemish on his record is a draw which wasn't a draw
I was there for that fight. I thought he won that so
I think people would be okay with this fight and again a new way is coming up in weight as well
You know what you're getting with nick ball I tweeted this a couple of hours before his
fight. Tune in because Nick Bool just gives you action. And we want to see if anyone can
push Inoue back. Let's see. And Nick Bool could be the guy to do it. So I think people
would be okay with that fight. It looks like all roads are leading to that. There's a lot
of talk about Inoue having a Riyadh season event fight. Nick Boll's fought on Riyadh season twice.
Turkey, we know, likes him.
Obviously, started by Frank Warren.
It's an easy fight to make, and I think it's a fight that makes sense if Inoue is going
to jump up and weight.
As we discussed, if he fights Nakatani, it has to be in Japan.
But if he fights Nick Boll, that makes a lot of sense for Riyadh, especially, as you said,
given the relationship with Frank Warren.
There was a great sequence of tweets between the two of them.
Uh, and you never know who exactly is behind the tweets,
but let's, let's take a look if we got it.
Here's Inouye saying that ball is funny, but don't kick it.
All right.
I dig it.
I dig it.
Not bad.
Not bad.
Uh, here's Nick saying when you're ready to kick it at 126, let me know. And then Inouye responds. That's not bad not bad here's Nick saying when you're ready to kick it at 126 let me know and then in a way response that's not bad two fists are
enough for me says in a way oh okay it started friendly and now it's quite
violent like okay I like you I love it if you're Nick Oh more and then there's
Nick let's make it happen and find out then. I love it. If you're Nick, this is it. That's that the carrots been dangled and he's bit.
That's what you want.
And this seems like it could have been a DM until that day comes. Let's increase each other's value.
I'm like, ah, man, now it seems like you guys are working together.
Okay. What's going on? Yeah. That went into the wrong inbox.
Yeah. Like the guy who's writing the tweets is like, send this one here.
And he said it to the wrong place.
Yeah.
Um, but look, I mean, that's what happens. A lot of these fighters one here and he sent it to the wrong place. Yeah.
But look, I mean, that's what happens.
A lot of these fighters do talk to each other.
Behind the scenes, they all talk.
I mean, I remember Spence and Crawford kind of
admitting that as well,
they had to make the fight themselves
because no one else wanted to make it.
So it happens.
I don't care how it happens.
I just want to see it happen.
I want to see, I want to go to an Inoue fight
and think, oh, there's some jeopardy here.
Oh, a hundred percent.
And it's been a while since I felt that.
Stephen Fulton maybe, but we quickly realized
that wasn't gonna play out the way we thought
it might play out.
Luis Neri maybe, but it's been a while.
And I don't have that feeling for the fight coming up.
Nick Ball would give me that feeling.
He'd give me that feeling.
Hey, shout out to the pride of Brownsville, Brooklyn,
Bruce Shushu Carrington, who tried to tried to throw his, his name into the.
Uh, the ring.
Uh, he said, I would love to fight Nick Ball
sometime this year.
I just want my shot.
Nick Kicken, uh, I think he was referring to the,
uh, the kick there at the end of the first round.
I don't know.
I mean, obviously Bruce is a, is a big time prospect.
He's under the, uh, the top rank umbrella fought on the
undercard of the, of the Tyson Paul card back
in November.
He's got a fight coming up as well.
I don't know if he's in that mix necessarily,
but I like him throwing his name into the hat.
He's a big time prospect that a lot of people
are excited about.
Yeah, so you gotta do, you gotta do that.
Did he get a response from Nick Bull?
I don't think so.
I don't know.
I, yeah, see.
He's responding to anyway.
You're not quite there yet.
Yeah, yeah, yeah. Like Nick's probably thinking, one second,
I got a new way to do it.
Like, wait your turn.
But I like it.
I mean, you've got to shoot for the big guys.
You've got to shoot for the champions.
And good luck to Carrington to doing so, but not yet.
Removing Inoue from the equation,
he's not ready for Nick Bull yet.
Nick Bull's on a different level, I think.
By the way, I don't know if you saw this earlier today.
Shout out to Naoya in a way, the monster, his star
continues to grow larger and larger.
The Los Angeles Dodgers are playing the Chicago Cubs
to open up the 2025 MLB season.
And there he was on the field as Shohei Otani,
the great Los Angeles Dodgers superstar, is about to.
Who? Is that? You don't know? Come on. You have to know who Shohei Otani, the great Los Angeles Dodgers superstar is about to...
Who? Who's that?
You don't know who... Come on, you know, you have to know who Shohei Otani is.
The second coming of Babe Ruth?
Is this the guy that gets paid like hundreds of millions of pounds?
Yes, hundreds of millions and not only that, pitches and hits, which is absurd.
Oh wow, that's both?
Yeah, not since Babe Ruth have we seen someone like that, legit.
And in a way, this is this is a this is
Gigantic you could give me okay. Give me give me a football example. Give me a soccer example
So I know what you're talking about right now
Ronaldo Messi what we what we're doing here
Great about it is Otani is the the the most famous Japanese athlete in the world
And here's in a way who's obviously a huge star as far as fighting is concerned
And and I would say a mainstream star in far as fighting is concerned and and I would
say a mainstream star in Japan getting that type of rub like getting the massive you're right that's
it getting the nod of approval from Shohei it's a huge deal and he doesn't did he did he pitch did
he pitched Inoue is that what they do when they go on and throw oh no he didn't do that you know
he didn't do the uh the ceremonial I've seen some horrendous first pitches. Oh yeah. Conor McGregor, 50 Cent, Gary Belibate.
There's been some bad ones.
No, he was just on the field addressing the crowd,
but it felt like a nod, like a respect.
Like, you know, we're both representing the same country
on the world stage.
I thought it was cool.
I thought it was awesome.
No, no, it's big.
It's big because, no, it's big.
You're right, because look, the thing about Inoue coming over to America as opposed to fighting in Japan is like, no, no, it's big. It's big because nice big You're right because look the thing about a new way coming over
Yeah, America as opposed to fighting in Japan is that okay?
Can he get the fan base that can he put bombs on seats is he a star?
Can he get the the Asian market if you like just to follow him in America?
And I guess by this baseball do you're telling me about that helps him. He's not you're telling me
Have you never heard of you you've legit never heard of Shohei Otani. I'm not even joking.
This is not a gag.
No, this is me being 100% across the board of you serious.
I think I've heard of him,
but I would like, like if you just put his photo up
and said, Adi, who is that?
A guy in a Dodger's uniform?
You haven't been to those MLB games.
I think they play at West Ham.
Absolutely no chance.
What is, how would you,
would you say MLB is below NBA in England?
How would you rank the American team?
Way below.
Is it below NHL?
Does anyone care about the NHL?
There's a small sort of
Hardcore. Bunch of people.
Yeah, hardcore.
But it certainly is NFL, NBA.
I even think MLS now, and then MLB. Really? Yeah, I think MLS now and then MLB.
Really?
Yeah, the MLS has taken over.
MLB, I could see that obviously, it's football,
but MLB last.
It's not just, yeah, and not only that,
it's because we've got quite a few former
Premier League players in the MLS, right?
And managers as well now.
And obviously Messi being the biggest superstar of them all.
So yeah, MLB wouldn't even get I mean
I know what you're trying to say that they do that these events at West Ham. Yeah, the London Stadium. Yeah
I
Would think MLB would be a little more popular because it's a lot more like cricket and crickets more
You know popular than anything that resembles hockey although field hockey. I think is popular over there. Is it not for women? No, no
No, maybe I'm confusing it with something else. In any event, by the
way, last week, I do recall you saying that, you know, if you were a betting man, no chance
Lamont Rocha is getting a rematch. Oh, okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. I'm not trying to
say I told you so, but have you seen those reports? Yeah. Yeah. It's not official yet.
It's not official. Okay. It's not official, but it's going
to happen. Isn't it? You are correct. It's going to happen. Yeah. It's going to happen.
And good. Well done to Lamon Roach. Well done. Well done. And in fact, what I'm to tank,
what I'm saying he's the golden goose here. He decides wherever, which way he wants to
go. And he says, you know what? We need to run it back. By the way, did you see Lamon
Roach has done some fantastic like comms of his own fight,
which I thought was good.
Every fighter should do this.
And there's this segment where it clearly looks like Gervonta tries to bite him.
Have you seen that?
No.
You whatever you've seen that you're just trying to play like you haven't seen it.
On my life.
You must have seen it.
Why would I lie?
No, I haven't.
Well, it looks like Gervonta tried to take a bite out of him.
In the middle of the fight.
What are you doing?
In the middle of the fight. Wow. In the middle of the fight. What are you doing?
In the middle of the fight.
Wow.
In the middle of the fight, that's crazy.
At what point?
Pre-knockdown or post-knockdown?
Pre-knockdown.
Geez Louise.
Pre-knockdown.
Honestly, they're gonna do that fight on pay-per-view.
That's gonna be, like, that,
the controversy helped the fight, right?
And obviously, if there's no controversy,
there's no rematch, we might be talking about
Tank Davis versus Jake Paul, um, you know, for,
for all we know, that's going to be a big time
pay per view.
That's going to be one of the biggest pay
per views of the year, in my opinion, given
Tank, given the fact that there's a lot of people
who probably want to see him lose, given the,
you know, the, the underdog story and him getting
screwed and all this stuff.
I think that could be a, that could be one of PBC's biggest shows of the year and completely
unexpected.
Like there's no way they earmarked this, the
first fight nor the second fight.
There was no chance there was going to be a
second fight.
He was a 16 to one favorite.
Uh, that, that is developing into a big story.
And, and
dude, what I love more than anything is that
we're going to see two tank fights in one year.
I mean, when was the last time we saw a tank
fight back to back like this that we don't get it tank
Thanks almost a part-time fighter
So I'm just more excited the fact that we get to see tank where it seems like anyway twice in six or seven months
That's the dream. That's the story. Yeah, it's yeah, we I mean we could get him free times this year
By the way, not only that we're getting him twice in the span of three plus months, which is just completely absurd.
He did tell us when all this started, I'm going to fight three times this year.
I don't think he was expecting it to be like this, but he did say that he also said he was going to retire by the end of the year.
And I feel like that's not going to happen. So, uh, let's see, let's see if they get it done.
I think he's going to be incredible this time around.
Oh yeah. He was not motivated. I'm not trying to take anything away from Roach,
but he was completely dismissive of him.
And they knew each other.
They had a relationship, amateur, all that stuff.
It just felt like he was not there for whatever reason.
I think he's pissed off.
I think he wants a proof of point.
This might be just what the doctor ordered for him.
This might be the best thing to ever happen to him.
We'll see.
Yeah, okay.
You guys have forgotten me.
Now I'm this and I'm that and I'm okay. We'll see. I'll show you. I'll show you. I think it's
gonna be good. I had a big weekend coming up. Like we said, right here on Dazon, the
undisputed global home of boxing. We do have that big card over in Sydney, but that is
not all. There's a BKFC show on Friday. Have you jumped on the train just yet? I was on
the train then then Jeremy Stevens left the train. Yeah, he does.
I jumped off. Yeah, that's it. Wow. I jumped off. Yeah, like because I was so excited about Jeremy Stevens.
I'm like, okay, one second. He's now back in the UFC. He kind of, it's thrown me a bit like fighters are moving all over the place.
So, I don't know. You need to speak to Jeremy Stevens. Come back. I'll come back.
By the way, weird one. One fight deal with the UFC, no one saw that
coming it seemed like he was the face, the fact that they let him fight against Eddie
Alvarez. Crazy. How they did not tie him down. Yes. You put him in the main event, you win
that fight, you cut a killer promo, you face off with Conor McGregor who's a part owner
in the company and then you just let him walk away you just let them be I mean golly
Are they trying are they trying to smooth things over the UFC?
Okay, we scratch your back, you know, I scratch yours you scratch mine
Is there like maybe a bigger play? No hand here? No, okay
I think it's five seconds. No, I straight away. Okay. I think it's just a matter of the UFC going to Des Moines
He is from Des Moines. It makes sense. They like him
He's a great story. He's a hot commodity come on back one fight deal, which they never do
they never do one fight deals and
Let's see how it goes by the way. Would he be making more money from that than the main event against Eddie Alvarez?
Here's the crazy part
One probably not but he also said he also told me in the interview yesterday that they offered him
the whole purse or the old show win model.
And he said, I want to bet on myself and
take the show win model, which means for those
that don't know, cause this isn't really
a thing in boxing.
You get X amount to show.
And then if you win, you get another amount.
But you.
What's your hundred, a hundred?
I didn't, I didn't ask him specifics. 100 100 I didn't I didn't ask him specifics come on Ariel
you're not asking these questions come on we need to know what we're talking about. He must be
around that he must be around that at this point perhaps at this point
perhaps but I know he was getting a pretty good amount from BKFC so anyway
let's see that's on Friday and we are inching closer to the big one on the 29th of March. Of course I'm talking about KSI
versus Dylan Dennis over in Manchester. There it is. He's still in. It's 11 days
away and Dylan hasn't pulled out. I'm impressed. I'm honestly impressed.
Shout out to him. And he's not going to pull out. Yeah, shut up. I wanted to do the event. I put my hand out to do the event.
You're out.
I'm out.
I'm out.
What happened?
I don't know.
I don't know.
I don't know what's going on.
They obviously didn't require my services.
And I'm like, are you sure?
By the way, you have said that you don't want to be
the influencer guy.
So you now, you can't come crawling back.
No, I didn't crawl in.
I offered, I said, look guys, this is a big one.
I did the last Dylan Dannis one.
You might need me for this one.
And I kind of said, I'll do it one off.
Jeremy Stevens did one contract.
I signed me up, show me the money and they refused.
And so I'm not doing it.
They said, thanks, but no thanks.
I'm not joking.
Pretty much.
That's how it played out.
They said, we got your email.
No, thank you. We're good. All right. It's like, wow. Good luck to That's how it played out. They said, we got your email. No, thank you.
We're good, all right.
It's like, wow, fine.
Good luck to everybody's doing it.
Yeah. Good luck.
Yeah, yeah.
We're rooting for you.
Anyway, time now for everyone's favorite segment of the week.
It is time, Ade, for our parting shot.
And my favorite part about this is,
A, that it is still not sponsored.
And B, and B, B, you never know what it is.
So I'm surprised.
Should I sponsor it?
Should I just sponsor it like,
at aodpo.com?
I'm still waiting on lastgrey.com.
Green chair, like productions or something.
Let's go back to Liverpool.
And no, it is not the big leg kick.
It's Jack Turner knocking out Ryan Farag in the second round.
Look at this. Oh my god.
Vision. Jack Turner. He is a little machine this kid. Super flyweight. Super flyweight and oh my god
He's just got mean it. Oh
By the way, you had a pick of a bunch this week. I didn't expect this one. Yeah, you might go Callum Walsh
week I didn't expect this one yeah you might go Callum Walsh now I love look at this from the little guy bang up against the ropes head cock back I think that's
10k oh that is 1110 yeah okay we got caught there didn't they but then oh my
oh my oh my back so there you have it yeah we did have a lot to pick from a bunch on
the orlando card uh keith thurman your boy last wednesday feels like two months ago uh so we've
not spoken about keith yeah i know i did this again just to piss you off you did yeah yeah like
brought him up i tried to speak about him and you shut me down last time you brought him up earlier
in the show and i thought that was going to be the runway to talk about him. You just blew right through him. Yeah. He's back. I should have asked,
I should have asked Sebastian about him. I forgot because Sebastian Vandora was linked to fighting
Keith Furman. Yeah. And then the end he didn't and he fought Tim Zuhn. Obviously it changed his life
for that win. But yeah, one time is back. Although Brock Jarvis, I mean mean Brock Jarvis four years ago was a bantam weight.
Geez.
He's a bantam weight. So what he's doing 154 pounds I do not know. So I want to see Keith
fight a legit 154 guy first before fighting one of the best at 154 because I know he wants
to jump straight away but steady, steady, steady. Yeah's a great story, and I think a lot of people were dismissive of the comeback.
And so a win is a win.
He had to go to enemy territory.
He picks up the win on a random Wednesday morning.
And so let's see where he goes from here.
But one of the great characters in the sport.
Welcome back one time.
Perhaps now he should be two time, unless he's fired.
Maybe three time.
I don't know. No, well, he's, yeah, maybe five he's fired, maybe three time, I don't know.
No, well, he's, yeah, maybe five or six times
if we're gonna do it like that.
I mean, this guy literally fights once every three years.
So we might not see him again until 2028.
We might not see him until then,
but let's enjoy what we saw on the, what, when was it?
Last week, Wednesday.
Yeah, last week, Wednesday.
And by the way, very quickly,
I do wanna congratulate Clarissa Shields
her name has been expunged from the
suspension list some weird thing went on with all of those
positive marijuana tests on that card in
In Flint on that Sunday night a few weeks back and it came out. She was very vocal and now they've said it was a faulty
Drug test she's all good. And so hopefully this good this doesn't remain an issue and it came out she was very vocal and now they've said it was a faulty drug
test she's all good and so hopefully this good this doesn't remain an
happy birthday to her as well I think it was her birthday yesterday the big 3l
like Carissa Shields yep yep fantastic fantastic of her she should be because
I'm the one that's more I'm more vocal for her than she is for herself yeah I'm
like Chris should be fighting this person that person this but you say she has to go to the United Kingdom
and she does not like that, okay?
Well, the last time I said she should be fighting
on this MVP card, but obviously she doesn't want
to be in a co-main slot.
I said her versus Savannah would be the perfect co-main
event for this fight.
Yeah, perfect, but she ain't accepting that, is she?
She ain't accepting that.
That's a mistake if you ask me.
Katie and Amanda were co-main on the last card and look what it did for them. But nevertheless, she can do what she wants
and yes, just turned 30. Congratulations to her and happy birthday to her as well. It is time to
go out, eh? It has been a long day. Look how great this is. Show's still going on and it's still
bright outside. God bless us.
Lucky for some.
Lucky for some.
Hey, hey, very quickly.
Yes.
Before we go, Alexander Usik versus Daniel Dubois or Joseph Parker, which one?
Oh, you're throwing this out?
The last 30 seconds of the show?
This is a whole 30 minute segment.
No, it's not.
Which is happening or which I...
Which one would you want?
Which would you want?
Do you want to see Alexander...
Joseph Parker. Joseph Parker. Who's more more deserving who's more deserving hmm I'll say Parker you know why because
he didn't get his crack Dubois got his crack already yeah Dubois had a shot at Usyk already
yeah I think Usyk Dubois is happening yeah and I think Parker's more deserved because Parker wanted the Dubois
fight and it's not his fault. And then he fought the killer in Martin Bacoli. So I think
Parker deserves a crack, but he's going to get a world title shot anyway. I think Usyk
vacates at WBO and Parker fights for a vacant title against someone. Maybe Joshua. Who knows? Here's the thing. Maybe Cabell?
Here's the thing.
If it does end up being Usyk versus Dubois, and I agree with you, it probably does.
It seems like that's the direction we're going in.
Joseph Parker needs to ask some serious questions about what happened a few weeks ago.
Like how did this all go down and what exactly happened here?
Because we have still not heard from Daniel Dubois.
Have you seen an interview?
We've heard some other people.
Have you even seen the guy? Have you seen a picture of him? Is there any?
Like, come on. I don't know where he is. I have no idea where he is right now.
It honestly is a strange thing that happened. Very, very strange.
Cause especially when it's a fight of that magnitude,
you expect way more questions to be asked and way more answers and no
questions apart from what we do on here and obviously no answers. So it is a
strange situation but I think we're all systems go for Usyk Dubois. I'd be
astounded if Usyk versus Dubois doesn't happen. I'd be astounded if that
doesn't happen because it's a big, unfortunately for Joseph, it's a bigger
money fight. It's a bigger fight. It's a bigger fight
It's a big fight. Yeah, shame. Yeah
Because of what do what did against Anthony Joshua we could talk about that next week
We could talk about that in the coming weeks. It will still remain a massive story. We gotta go now out there, right?
That's it. Don't bring up any new topics. We're done. Okay, did you not did but did you not hear about them?
Let's do our pound-for-pound list real real quick right now top 15
pound-for-pound go just kidding thank you to everyone out there for the
support thank you for watching enjoy the fights this weekend a massive slate of
fights going down all over the world we'll be back next week to talk about
them all good Good night, God bless.
