Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the Earth.
Tuesday, September 29.
Two, that.
And 26.
Hello again, everyone.
I sure hope you're doing well.
It is great to be here on a beautiful Tuesday afternoon in New York City.
We had some fun yesterday, my friends.
We had some fun.
A lot of you enjoyed our breakdown of the Dana White Press conference.
If you missed it, it's up on the YouTube channel.
Josh Hoke, it was great.
Peyton Talbot was great.
It was a really, really fun show.
So if you missed it, go check it out.
But check it out after today's show.
Because we've got another great one planned for all of you.
We've got a lot to discuss some breaking news this morning.
A lot of things have happened since we last spoke.
I'm excited.
I'm feeling a little bit better.
Thank you for asking.
I appreciate your concern.
If my back was at a 10 on Sunday and maybe a 7 yesterday, it's at a 4.
So we're trending in the right direction.
Still have the heating pad on.
still have the muscle relaxer cream on,
still feeling good in the neighborhood.
What's that commercial?
What's that?
P.T.
Not a laughing matter, all right?
No, muscle relaxants just make me laugh.
Why?
I don't know.
Just think of that funny.
All right.
I'm glad to hear you're doing okay, though.
I appreciate that.
You know, I don't have anything that is quite that high,
but we're working on it.
We're doing the pigeon.
We're doing the cat cow.
We're doing the downward dog.
We're doing all the moves, Pee,
all right. Guys, lots to get into. I do want to let you know right off the top, before I forget,
UFC 332 is a mere four days away, four days away, October 3rd, Saturday night, live on CBS,
but more importantly, no watch party on the channel, no live post show on the channel. Instead,
we are hanging out with the people. Why? Because uncrowned is for the people. That's what we're all about.
If you go to that link right there, which we will put in the YouTube chat, there you have it, courtesy of our good friends over at Kalshi.
We will be watching UFC 332 with the people.
So if you're in the tri-state area, or even if you're not, come on down, hang out with us.
We'll be there for the entire main card, do a little thing afterwards as well.
We're just hanging.
We're hanging.
We're watching.
We're eating.
We're even consuming a little, I don't know, beverage or two.
Who knows?
All right, the world is our oyster.
So you have to sign up right there.
Then you'll get the information.
No cover charge, at least not from us.
It's all courtesy of Kalshi.
We appreciate them very much for putting this on.
And I'm looking forward to doing something like this.
I haven't done this since 2012.
We did it once in Vegas, actually, for a Bell Tour event at the sports book there, at the Aria.
But I did one of these in New York, 2012 UFC on Fuel TV.
Brian Stan was in Alessio Sakara's Guard.
and he knocked him out and then he stopped short of hitting him again.
I remember that vividly.
So we're going to do it again.
Go check it out.
Link in the YouTube chat.
We're making it happen.
Peace and love.
Peace and love.
And thank you, of course, to Kalshi for their support.
Now, as far as today's program is concerned, back end of the show, Ben Whitaker is going
to join us.
The Surgeon.
He's headlining a show in the Midlands on Saturday.
Birmingham, to be exact.
Big fight for him.
Big opportunity for him.
And, you know, this comes at a really,
interesting time. Katie Taylor has now retired. AJ's obviously on the final, you know,
stretch of his career, maybe one more fight, depending on what happens on December 11th,
obviously more on that in a moment. You know, Ben Whitaker is being positioned as perhaps
the next guy, no Connor Ben, of course, for matchroom and for the UK scene. He's got to start
racking up some big time wins. And a fight against Connor Wallace, who's a very, very game
opponent is probably the toughest of his career so far. Obviously, obviously we know about what happened
with Liam Cameron.
He was able to avenge that.
I like Ben Whitaker a lot.
I consider him must-see TV.
He had a great American debut back in June
on the undercard of that Xander Zayez fight against Boots Ennis.
So we'll talk to Big Ben at about 3 Eastern 8 in the UK.
Eileen Perez is going to join us at 2.30 Eastern.
Talk about her fight against Norma Dumont.
She's in Vegas still to corner a friend of hers,
Camilla Reynoso, who is fighting on the Contender Series,
card this evening. That series is wrapping up in short order and Eileen and Norma had quite the
weekend back and forth. All kinds of theatrics will get her side of the story at 2.30.
Andy Foster is the executive director of the California State Athletic Commission and he does a
phenomenal job. I consider him the gold standard as it pertains to combat sports regulation
and officiating. And there are a few things that I'd love to get his two cents on. In
particular the banning of oblique kicks. He has been leading the charge in this regard. I want to talk to him
a little bit more about that. And so he will join us at approximately 2 p.m. Eastern. And in about 25 minutes time,
the always entertaining Darth Rigatoni, Mikey Musamechi, who just beat Bryce Mitchell at a UFC BJJ
event on Thursday of last week and is now saying that up next for him is a little thing called
mixed martial arts.
Mikey Musamechi,
making the move to MMA
most likely as a flyweight.
If I'm one of these promotions out there
that's trying to make a splash,
key MMA,
the new MVP,
I'm signing a Mikey Mousa Mucce
because he is must-see-TV.
He's a great personality.
There's going to be a ton of intrigue
as to how he is going to do
crossing over to the world of MMA.
These are the kinds of guys
that you have to have on your roster.
So we'll talk to him about that.
All that and more plus news and notes, your super chats.
It's going to be another great day here on the program.
But to start the day, let's talk about some things that have happened over the course of the last, oh, I don't know.
If we ended the show at five, five plus seven is 12 plus another 13.
Is it possible?
It's 25 hours?
No, that doesn't make any sense.
Five plus seven.
Oh, wait.
It'll be about 20 hours.
20 hours.
That's right.
Five plus seven.
which I thought was 12, but it's really just getting to 12 and then plus the 13.
Gentlemen, a lot to discuss.
First things first, let us give you an update, most importantly, on Heone Barcelos.
Heoni Barcellos posted a video on his Instagram.
He's speaking in Portuguese, so I'll just read you to the caption, but it is important to see how he looks.
It's quite shocking, but great to see him in good spirits, great to see him speaking, and obviously,
being able to interact with the audience. This is the translation of the post. Speak up people.
So maybe it's what's up people, something like that. Passing here to reassure you and thank you
from the bottom of my heart for all the love for the messages and for every prayer. We were putting up a
great fight. He certainly was. I was feeling great winning round by round even in the fifth.
Unfortunately, I just fainted. It was a scare for all of us, but I'm being watched closely in observation.
And once I have more information, I'll share with you. But I can say I'm doing great. The will of God is
greater than our will. I never imagine receiving so much support. Thank you for being with me right now.
You can be sure that I have fought with everything I had and I would keep fighting to honor my family's
name in pursuit of my dream. I hope that my walk will also inspire others to keep going with grit
in pursuit of a better life. Thank you, UFC for all the support, my family, my team, and every single
person who's cheering and praying for me. I love you guys. Let's go through it together and like a fine
wine, I'll come back even better. So lovely, heartwarming, positive, reassuring stuff from
Hione Barcelos and obviously wishing him nothing but the best in a very, very speedy recovery.
Guys, it appears as though the crisis that was December 11th has been averted and it appears as
though the highly anticipated, much talked about, Anthony Joshua versus Tyson Fury fight is back on
track. And so we ended yesterday's program, letting you all know that there was great optimism.
One side saying 70-30, the other side saying all good, photo shoot on Tuesday, press conference
on Wednesday. Everyone seemed optimistic, but we weren't quite sure where things stood.
Well, we woke up today to this tweet from Eddie Hearn himself.
I think Pizzi, he's quoting the great Jamie Vardy when he says,
Oh, what a show.
Chapter 35, chat shit, get banged, December 11th.
What does that mean, Ptze to you?
He's saying they were chatting shit and now they're going to get banged.
I think it's fairly obvious what he's saying, you know?
Play silly games, win silly prizes kind of stuff.
Are you optimistic?
Can I just ask you?
You know, this optimism.
Yeah, yeah.
How are you so optimistic when we've been on?
off, then on, then off, then off, then off.
How can you suddenly just think this is going to be fine?
After all of this.
I think it's been resolved.
I think a deadline was put in place by Netflix, and they said, guys, figure your shit out.
There's too much money.
It's too big.
And there is no denying, you know, you'll continue to see people rolling their eyes.
There is no denying the fight is bigger now.
There is no, that is going to be one of the most watch press conferences of all time.
And it's going to be the most watch fights of all time.
And the buildup to this fight, two plus months, is going to be amazing theater.
And there's not going to be a lot that they're, I don't expect a lot of stuff between them.
A press conference here, a face-to-face, I highly doubt it.
Could you imagine a face-to-face?
With Max Deanna and Eddie's.
Oh, could you imagine that?
That would be amazing.
I would be surprised.
I have not gotten an official confirmation, but I would be surprised if Dana was in attendance tomorrow.
And you know what would be the greatest thing that they could do?
Honestly, just have the two of them up there.
That's it.
I don't even need, honestly, I don't even think you need a moderator.
How powerful would it be?
Joshua and Tyson at this stage, to be honest with you.
I just think people want to see these.
How powerful would it be if it's just the two of them?
Media asks questions.
Maybe someone's, you know, controlling the dance from the crowd, but I just want to see the
two of them up there.
Dramatic lighting, it would be amazing.
And let's go.
Let them cook.
They have not officially announced the press conference.
conference for tomorrow. I'm hearing the hope is 6 p.m. in the UK, which is 1 p.m. Eastern here,
which is when this show starts. So we're going to watch this together. Someway, somehow,
we're watching this shit together because I can't be doing anything else when that thing is going on.
Hopefully it starts on time, and hopefully we get an actual, you know, an actual official
announcement as far as the press conference is concerned. In case you're wondering,
Anthony Joshua, he's all over that Snapchat guys. I don't know if you've seen.
his Snapchat. He was on the plane. He was flying over. He's working out. Anthony Joshua on Snapchat
is must-cTV. And oh, by the way, uncrown combat now on Snapchat. And I did note this this morning.
I'm trying to get into the Snapchat game with the kids as well. So if anyone out there is a Snapchat
expert, I'm really enjoying, I put a couple of stories up. Frankie saw my stories, right? Frankie's actually
all over my Snapchat. You know, I just wish you weren't doing it while driving. I wasn't driving,
Frankie. I was parked. Okay. But I hit you with a couple of shots there. You saw that, yeah?
I did.
The filters.
Yeah, I saw that.
Are you only posting stories or are you snapping people?
You're snapping people.
I mean, Frankie wrote me.
I wrote them back.
He said, what does that mean?
Just for the layman here.
So Frankie wrote me.
Frankie's message was great.
It was like, hey, boss, how are you?
Hope you're having a blessed day.
I was like, wow, this is great from Frank.
That was two weeks ago.
And then I didn't notice that you can like get the messages.
So I said, hey, Frank, how are you?
And he said, I hope you're not driving.
I said, of course not.
And I hit, I mugged him.
Yeah, you hit me with a selfie.
We got to talk about boundaries as well, you know.
Oh, boy.
We're doing a lot of things.
We're doing a lot of things on the Snap.
We're doing a lot of the Snapchat, huh?
I mugged them on the Snap.
Yeah.
Anyway.
Bogged them on the Snap.
This must be what it feels like to be one of your kids, you know?
It's like, oh, God.
How did the Lads?
Chat's cooking you, bro.
It's another one.
I don't care.
I don't care, man.
How do the Ladsville?
I don't care, well, I'm on Snap, man.
I'm living my best life.
And if you don't want to follow me.
They hate it.
Follow uncrowned combat.
All right. Follow uncrown combat. We're on Snap. Spencer, Kel, Marcos. They're heading it up for us,
all right? By the way, shout out to our pal, Christina. She loves the gloves. Great reaction to the
announcement. Ariahawani.com, the new home of the uncrown newsletter, launching officially next Monday,
October 5th. So, Tyson Fury, he's landed. I thought he said it was a 1% chance while he was drinking
that ferocity. Well, I guess it's back to 100%, because he's in London and he did a quick little chat
with his longtime manager Spencer Brown.
Here's what he had to say.
How relieved are you that we're there now, press conference tomorrow?
Well, there's still a few bits.
It's a dangerous shot there with the shorts and Spencer, huh?
Not ideal.
We were never in down.
The Tarsman's always there.
We agreed to do everything they asked us to do.
We're here now.
Press conference tomorrow.
Let's go.
Obviously, there was a lot of talk about the location.
I'm not going to go into all that.
But are you happy?
Spencer, why aren't you wearing trousers?
In London, it's happening in the UK.
Look, we were asked very early on to fight in London, to fight at Wembley.
Yeah.
We agreed.
Okay?
We agreed.
Then it got moved to New York.
We agreed to that.
Now it's in...
Our first contract was in Ireland.
So we're now four down the line.
To come back with Wales, we agree to that.
We've agreed to everything.
So I don't know who's...
Narrative.
It's all bullshit.
I don't know about that.
I feel it's been well documented at this point.
It's finally happening.
expect. I have no idea. I don't know myself. Will it happen? I don't know. Will it happen? Who knows?
He's not optimistic, Ariel. I'll believe it when I see it. By the way. And he said that all
along. So let's see, eh? There's one thing for sure the Gypsy King will be there tomorrow. One million
percent. Oh my days. By the way, it's kind of the wrong thing to put out. You're trying to get people
to buy tickets, flights, hotels. I don't know if it's going to happen. If I be honest, I don't know.
it's not really what you want to put out there
but I think it's
it's on and
I think tomorrow's good
that face off is going to be something
holy shit the gypsy king
and the bodybuilder
the landlord and the gypsy king
by the way
mouthpiece Mike all over this story
courtesy of his friends over at the
ring but we did catch something
he's been putting out a lot of great information
you may see his tweet on the right
about Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua
are in training camp
and heading to London for their first face-off at Wednesday's press conference, I'm told,
all parties are working together to do what's best to maximize the promotion of this heavyweight
super fight December 11th on Netflix.
Okay, if you look at the left, look at the left tweet, all right, PT, look at the left tweet.
You see the last word, I'm looking, I'm looking.
You see the last word of the left tweet?
What's the last word of the left tweet?
Can you see that?
Netflix.
Then you go to the updated post, so he ended it there.
Then you go to the updated post and someone must have given them the old phone call because he added this line.
Turkey L. Sheikh has been pushing hard during the last 48 hours to close the deal.
That changes everything.
Yes, boss.
Wow.
Yes, boss.
What a revelation.
I know.
So that's big time stuff.
That's big time reporting.
And that's the kind of great content that you get over at the ring.
We appreciate that.
We appreciate our friends over there very much.
So that is great.
That is exciting.
that is good news.
We're looking forward to this playing out tomorrow.
We're hoping maybe for some imagery today.
Perhaps some good stuff is going to be coming out.
I don't know.
We don't know.
But in the next 24 hours...
What do you mean?
What do you mean?
Photo shoots, you know, they're doing...
We're facing off.
You know, I don't know.
Maybe something's happening.
Let's see.
Let's see.
I'm sure it's going to be on AJ Snap.
So keep it locked.
Now, other breaking news, gents.
I tell you what, we woke up this morning.
to nine fights announced, just like that.
The whole shebang.
Maybe a fight or two to be announced as well for the upcoming UFC Qatar.
It's not Qatar, by the way, it's Qatar.
Just so you know, I learned that 2022 World Cup.
November 21st, over in Qatar, they're back.
And what about this main event?
What about this card, guys?
Yeri Pachaska against Navajo Sterling, formerly known as Navajo Sterling?
formerly known by who.
Navajo, Sterling.
You can't hit me with the cutter and then change his name.
Yeah, I know.
You can't try and dunk on us with cutter and then be like, Navajo, Sterling.
Navajo Sterling?
I'm going Qatar.
Okay.
Yuri Pachasca versus Navajo Sterling.
Bangar.
Sicker.
Sick.
Could we go back to it?
Al Jermaine Sterling versus Kevin Vejit.
Sterling boy.
Shejos.
First time ever two Sterlings on the same car.
Sterling and Sterling.
That's big deal.
Dan Hooker's back.
We just saw him.
Against Brian Ortega.
Against Brian Ortega.
We were supposed to see him.
Hopefully.
Almabayev, Horaguchi?
Big.
Sick fight.
And it keeps going.
Canineer Aliscarov?
I'm in.
Toporia.
Alessandro.
Santiago Luna.
I'm in.
Shamil Gassiev.
Talcant Descherra.
Goethev.
Oh, yeah.
Don't got to tell me twice.
You got that heavyweight moving, baby.
Albazi Costa, not bad.
Two ranked guys.
all the way at the bottom there?
Jake Matthews against Akbar Abdullahev.
Woo!
At Walter Wait.
Yo,
according to,
GC,
what did you tell me,
nine ranked fighters on this?
No,
no,
not.
Ten ranked fighters on nine fights
that have been announced
on UFC Cutter.
This weekend's UFC 332,
14 fights,
five ranked fighters.
That was the thing,
by the way.
Every single comment
when I tweeted this this morning was,
I mean,
this mocks UFC 332,
right?
Shit on it.
Was it?
Was this on Snapchat?
Who's telling you about the market?
It killed it.
It's on snap?
It does, though.
We all know.
The UFC schedule is just a byproduct of timing.
It's like who fits in where.
And sometimes there's more incentive to beef up a card like this.
Perhaps they're getting paid a little bit.
Who the hell knows?
But yeah, I do feel for the Salt Lake City fans because they probably thought we're getting a number of it.
What are we getting?
Who are we getting?
Who are we getting?
And this is what they're getting.
By the way, I still think it's going to be bang.
we're doing a watch party.
I think main event's going to be low-key,
like one of the best fights of the year.
But this is a, I mean, okay, well, let's go tit for tat, shall we?
Yeah, let's go tit for tat.
Prajaska and Navajo.
Easily better.
Versus Natalia and Wang.
It's a Yeri Prohashka fight.
Okay.
This is not a competition.
First time since April that we see him, obviously, since the Miami.
Al Jermaine Sterling and Kevin Vachejos, Figi Talbot.
Yeah, I'm taking it.
Al Jemaine Sterling, Kevin Voshaegh.
But it's a tit for tat, no?
Al Jermaine Sterling is at a much better place in his career than Davis and Figuero.
I understand that they're both former champions fighting the up-and-comers.
I'm taking the co-man of Cuner.
Can we also say, are we surprised Al-Jo's taking this fight?
This does feel...
Respect to him.
Four versus 10?
Four versus 10 when he probably thought maybe John Silva may be title shot next.
Yeah.
Al-Jo doesn't duck the smoke.
We need to recognize.
It's a scary up-and-comer in Veshejos.
So they were going back and forth over the last few hours.
Here's Aljo saying, if you accept another fight, you are simply scared for the real challenge.
First Silver, now you?
Who's silver?
All you young guys, maybe he meant Silva, John Silva?
All you young guys need a lesson in history, and I'm the effing teacher.
And he tags him.
Kevin then writes, see you soon, legend.
Aljo then writes, my man, let's run it.
Kevin then writes,
Legends are legends because they are willing to fight anybody.
Most 145ers in the top are scared to fight so they pretend to be injured.
We, all caps, that's his thing, are all injured.
But only some of us want to fight.
The only people who deserve to contend for a title are the ones who fight no cry.
So there you have it.
I love that.
Okay, back to the tit for tat.
I like this game.
Tit for tat, tit for tat.
What do we got?
Okay.
Hooker or Taurus?
Rodega versus King Green and Esteban Riebovich.
I go hook her, Tegov.
Yeah, King Green Rievovich is a, it can be a fun fight, but I'm taking hooker.
All right.
Al-Mabayev-Huriguchi, chaos solditch.
I'm going chaos soldiers.
They're both bangers.
Wow.
Okay, okay.
Canaaner Aliscarov, Gotié Kapilov.
Gotea Copilov.
Yeah.
All right, so, you know, it's tit for tat.
Tid for tat, four and one.
Wood Salt Lake City fans.
The switch.
We're good with that.
We're good with that.
We're good with that.
It is way better.
It's one of the better fight night offerings of the year.
If you're in Salt Lake, would you want to swap?
Would you say, if they said here, we can do it on a switch to real here?
Absolutely.
Refund the tickets, book the flight, and then you're getting the better deal.
I mean, Prakaska versus Sterling is great.
Who's the favorite in that fight?
Yeri?
Got to be.
At this point.
It's going to be close.
It's going to be close.
Jordan's going to look.
Jordan's going to look.
Yeah, it might be early.
Who's the favorite in the Aljo?
Kevin fight.
We're looking, we're looking.
No, no, I'm saying
who do you guys...
Probably Kevin, right?
You think so?
10th ranked?
I think he's done a lot of respect.
I think he's done a lot of respect.
Disrespected as well.
Aljo was constantly kind of like
underestimated.
No telling you.
Heery posting on IG this
right on the spot
let's start the camp.
What spot?
I'm not sure for that.
He's working hard.
he's eating right.
Here he is on social media
having a bit of the tarantula guys.
Nice.
Look at this.
What is going on?
He's actually eating tarantula.
What's like that?
What is it?
Fried?
What do you kiss it?
Oh, my dear.
Look at it.
It almost didn't go all the way in.
Oh, yeah, yeah.
Oh, is that like a little,
it felt like a little bit of a gag there.
Do you think it's like a,
yeah he's nearly crying oh my days
do you think it's that hot
I hope it was just out of the friar
he stopped chewing for a second
yeah he's like ain't no thing yeah ain't no thing chicken
gamey
I would never do that
oh yeah yeah good oh you think he likes it
I feel like he's contemplating the decision right now
no chance he likes that bro
time coming to the bathroom I don't think he does a lot of things he likes at all
I think he's constantly just in discipline mode punishing himself
but important to note
He's not doing it for the clout, right?
He's doing it for the, like, the mental fortitude.
What I'm saying?
Yeah.
Oh, wait, wait, wait.
See him eat some live shrimp, huh?
Hmm.
Is that something you've done, Frank?
We did it together.
Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Like, I have a, when do we do this?
Because I'm sorry.
Oh, at the restaurant.
Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes.
Let's never forget this time, guys.
I love it so much.
Oh, Frank brings up the live shrimp.
I forgot.
What did you do that, Frank?
Was it really live?
No, they, no, they showed it to us live.
He didn't involve.
Did they cut it?
And then they put it back on the tape.
Did they really show it to us?
They definitely never cooked it to us, yeah.
Yeah, I remember G.C. and Frank in particular, like, freaking out.
I loved it.
Oh, take me back.
All right, Uri.
I see you.
Okay, so that's a great card.
People are excited about that.
Also, UFC announcing late last night hour time and I guess early morning in Australia
that they're going back to Sydney for a fight night event, February 7th.
This was around the time that they were.
in Australia last year,
but that was for a numbered event.
Remember the back-to-back
with Alexander Volcanowski
defending against Diego Lopez.
Seems like a lot of people are saying
this should be a Quillen-Salkield
main event.
And so who would Quillen fight in that?
Lundermagabana.
Oyo, yo, yo, yo, you think so.
How's that son?
Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Let's do it.
Charles?
Too soon?
Give me Charles.
Why not?
Three versus six.
Yeah.
We just got 10 versus four.
Charles feels like a pay-per-view guy, though.
EMF belt on the line?
What is it?
What is it?
Paperview,
there is no paper view.
There doesn't exist.
No.
We can,
we've already,
we've already established,
we can headline shows
without belts at Madison Square Garden,
no problem.
What about?
What you mean?
I'm just doing the thing that he won't.
Do you think they'll give him like a Hanato Moikano?
No, he's fighting Tom Nolan.
Fiziv, we were talking about.
What were we talking about Fizier?
I'm down for that.
That's a great fight.
No, no,
we weren't talking about Fiziv.
We were talking Fiziv Usman, right?
Now we're all the way down to 15.
Quillen and Fiziva's great too.
Quillan just beat Mattes Gameron.
It has to be...
What Saladin doing?
Yo, it has...
Hey, there it is.
Chill, man.
Chill, chill, chill, chill, chill, chill.
What do you mean?
Too soon, man.
You want to fight the champion after you win in France.
I don't.
I love that.
Saladin.
Saladin, Saladin.
Sign him up.
Too soon.
He's got 25.
Saladin.
How you mean too soon?
He's been doing as his own life.
Hey, come on.
I don't want that.
Build them up.
Build them up.
That's how you build them up and knock them down, baby.
You either have the Frenchman coming to enemy territory and knock them off
or you have the hometown kid beat the up and coming.
That's a no win for either guy.
I tell you my dream.
Quillan Max.
The win for the winner.
Quillin Max.
Max isn't going to Australia.
Max isn't going on a fight night.
The loser of Quillin and Saladin will just be called trash
and it will do nothing to boost the profile of the winner.
It's a hard, don't do it.
How will it not do anything to boost the profile of the winner?
Because they'll say that the other person was trash.
They'll say, this person was never good.
They're a fraud.
You won over nobody, and it will do nothing.
You need an established name.
That's a result of every fight in the United States.
That's a fair pooling, Pete, I will give you that.
But then, like, well, you mentioned Charles, you mentioned Fiziv.
These are like longstanding guys.
Fizziv does just as much as a Saladin Parnatus.
Like, it's not like he beats Fiziv and everyone's like, oh my God, he's here.
Consumer point of view, the fight is unbelievable.
The fight is fucking unbelievable.
At the end of the day, if we want the best point, that is.
Give me Charles.
This is fun.
Charles just headlined a fight night event like last year.
Remember that?
Yeah, but that was his home.
And he was also on a rougher stretch then.
No, I know.
Now he's won that fight and the BMF.
That's a belt holder.
Come on.
I'm just saying it's six versus three.
The dude is six.
What happened to Diego versus Charles?
Can we just do that at some point?
Diego?
Diego Lopez.
Diego in Australia?
Well, speaking of Diego Lopez, here he is,
posting on social media.
Great segue.
Here we go again.
Thank you so much.
Oh, Barrett, that I believe is the Santo Studio, right?
Yeah, the Gideo.
Yes.
For the gloves and pads for the camp.
There you go.
So it looks like Diego.
Diego at 45 or 55?
I think 50s.
He's going to 55, right?
He's making 44, right?
Is that the thing?
While we're talking about breaking news, guys, what about this one from RAF on fire?
R.A.F. finally gets it done.
Hamza Chimaev versus Colby Covington.
Yeah.
It's a pretty big fight.
That's a massive.
Or match, I should say.
Yeah, I've been talking shit for a while.
Yo, this is like, we've been hearing
Colby call Hamza that other name
for what, five years now?
Like, since the pandemic.
What is it?
No, I ain't saying that name, I think.
I don't know what it is.
I'd say in that name, right?
Do we think that Hamzat still cares
about Kobe Covington in that way?
Like, will Colby be able to bother him?
I guess anything can really bother him, but...
In Abu Dhabi.
Colby going to Abu Dhabi to fight Hamzat?
Spoil.
Keep saying fight.
Fair play RIF.
No, that's big.
That is massive.
Also, what's the over-under on an incident happening at either a press conference after the fight, at the match?
I hate that we're all doing this over-under thing.
Yeah, no, I agree.
What's the plus-minus?
What's the plus-minus?
Yeah, what's the plus-minus on that?
I'd say two incidents, two incidents from Fight Week.
Oh, you're sending a line at over under.
I'm going over two incidents.
One and a half.
Over under one and a half?
Okay, now we're actually told over.
Hope he's actually been pretty well-behaved in R-AF.
Well, it'll be pretty well-behaved.
If Hamzat's standing in front of me, you know, frothing at the mouth, I would,
I hate myself.
He's been well behaved, but there also was the moment where he shit on bone nickel when he was in the crowd.
Sure, but no brawls.
Yeah.
I wouldn't expect that Colby.
Yeah.
How often does he's Humzat?
That's going to be the one.
Right.
He could provoke the brawl.
Yeah, yeah.
He could definitely provoke the ball with Hamza.
He could incite it.
I'll go over one and a half.
Yeah, same.
What a gift this has been for Colby, right?
Like, what is Colby Covinton doing if not for this?
Armin, Colby, Hamzot.
Lots of guys who like kind of weren't fighting.
Well, Armine and Hamzot are in their prime.
still.
I know maybe not fighting actively.
Once a year.
Yeah.
They're primes that the UFC doesn't book them in fights.
So it's been good to see them.
Oh my God.
It's great.
I'm legit.
By the way, that's the same day as UFC MSG, but in the afternoon.
So it won't go head to head, which I love.
So look out for that.
That was announced.
Obviously, one of the big stories is the return of Ilya to Poria.
When's he coming back?
Who's he fighting?
What's at stake?
Well, he posted this this morning.
back to the office.
And he's been teasing and he's been posting.
I still think we're a ways away from finding out
and I don't think we see him in 26.
But he appears to be in good spirits.
He appears to be in good shape.
Speaking of good spirits,
what about this from Ryan Garcia and Connor McGregor?
Out on the town, a little karaoke?
Take a...
Look at those shirts.
Okay.
Good spirits for sure.
Yeah.
whiskey, vodka.
Yeah, that's what I'm thinking too.
I was thinking Mac Energy.
There was probably some Mac Energy on the,
a little vodka Mac Energy, I'm in.
Oh, hell yeah.
Oh, a mix?
Yeah, like a vodka Red Bull,
which are putting it in with the Mac Energy.
One more for you.
Speaking of Connor McGregor,
his old friend Michael Chandler,
out on the mats with Tom Hardy.
Now, I'll be honest,
I'm not so familiar with Hart.
Is he related to Dan?
Oh, come on.
man. Tom Hardy,
Bain. Batman?
Warrior. How many he's been in the
M.MA circles for years? He might be in like the best
MMA movie.
Here comes the Boone.
He's like a, he's like a BJJ
Blue Belt, I think. No, I know.
He's purple belt. He's one... Purple. What's
he doing out there? You know, he's a sparman.
He gets in the... He gets in the last. He's the pilot
and what was it? 1917?
That guy's a big name.
Is he preparing for a fight?
Biggie blinders? He's Bain in the job.
Yeah. Oh, he's a lot.
He's in Piki Blinders.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Never actually saw it, but people love that.
He's in Mobland, Dana's favorite show?
Oh, my God.
Does Dana get, like, residuals from every time he mentions Mobland?
No, he's made.
He was saying this before the deal was made.
He was saying it before a deal was made.
I don't want to hear anything else.
Hey, don't forget, our very own Ben Folks speaks very highly about it.
You guys forget, Addy and O'Neill was one time presented by Mobland.
And Aude was gassing it up.
And they were giving bonuses on the U.S.
Everybody seems to love Mobland.
I got to check it out.
I do think that Tom Hardy is no longer on Mobland.
I think there was an issue.
No, no, no, no, no, no.
Second season is on now.
I'm watching it, Jordan.
They killed him off.
Oh, he's Venom, too, I forgot.
Oh, he's venom.
Oh, right.
Inception.
V-E-N-U-M.
Donald guy.
Action Brunson?
No, Charles Bonson.
Revenant.
Charles Manson.
Bronson.
Duncirk.
Duncirk, he's the pilot.
He's a legend, man.
Okay, well, is he planning to fight or what?
No, he's an actor, and he's in the gym.
Jim and he's like, you know what, I'm going to make a video
because he's very famous.
Actually, Chandler made the video.
Mad Max.
Chandler's making the videos because he's famous.
He's going, Tom Hardy, the actor in all these movies
is here throwing Diggs into this lad on making a video.
Do you know what I mean?
Okay.
Some work in, man.
D.L. Chandler told me he heard about the Helwani Spar.
I think this is his way of being, let me throw my name in the hat.
He heard about it.
I didn't ask for it, but...
He's letting Tom.
Tom wants...
You have a reach advantage, John.
him a lot. With the job you have,
would he even touch you? Is this a closed circuit
event? No, it's just a closed door event.
So you just, you have to, you know,
you have to be there or be squirre?
Black toy. Is anyone going to be allowed to be there?
Friends and family,
you know? Tree ground tickets.
Yes, Rick.
I love Mikey Musamechi. He texted
me. I'm going to be there at 1032.
I've never had someone be so precise
with his ETA.
And so perhaps Mikey versus Tom Hardy is a match worth considering.
Like you would mess Tom Hardy up in a very substantial way.
Dare you say he would mug him on the mat?
I don't know.
It works like that.
That's what people are saying.
How many times have I said maug in the first 34 minutes of this program?
Tom Hardy is in danger of a very bad mauging.
Oh, my dear.
All right, well, let's talk to the aforementioned Mikey Musumichi, who is victorious,
just a few days ago, five days ago, to be exact.
UFC BJJ-11, he went up against Bryce Mitchell.
He defeated Bryce Mitchell of the unanimous decision.
We've talked to him before.
One of the greatest BJJ practitioners competing today.
First American male to win multiple IBJF World Championships
at an adult black belt level reigning UFC BJJBantibat champion.
Four-time IBJF, Nogi champion.
One time, IBJF, Nogi World Champion as well.
Former one championship.
high weight submission grappling champion and now perhaps making the transition over to
mixed martial arts, Darth Rigotoni himself. Kind enough to join us right here now on this
Tuesday. Morning in Vegas. Hello, Mikey. How are you? How are you doing? So sorry for being
late. I was just in a rainstorm here, which is so weird in Vegas. Yeah, the streets shut down
over there when it starts to rain, right? It's crazy because I grew up in Florida where I learned
to drive and literally downpour rain because we have that every day, right? But in Vegas, when
there's any rain at all, everyone freaks out.
Are you safe and sound?
Safe and sound on the ground.
All right.
Well, I appreciate that and I appreciate you doing this.
Stay safe out there.
Let's talk about what you have going on.
You have a lot of exciting things.
First things first.
Congratulations on the win over Bryce.
And you know what struck me, Mikey, especially in the aftermath.
You kept talking about how much fun you had, how you were smiling, how you were enjoying it.
What was the difference this time around as far as the experience is concerned, you know, opposed to the past for you?
Yeah.
So I feel like I really went into this match with the mindset of entertaining people and having fun and less about caring about what.
Like I just internally enjoyed it.
Usually I don't let myself enjoy competing.
I just am miserable.
I just go out and try to submit the person as fast as I can.
But with Bryce, it was more about how can we make it fun for others?
How can I do things that are less comfortable for me?
And I was more uncomfortable.
Right.
And it just was so much fun.
Like we both had a lot of fun out there.
And we both just left it all out there.
You know, and he's a really strong guy.
And, like, I really enjoyed competing with him.
It was, it was more MMA vibes, which I liked, you know, because I'm training MMA right now.
So maybe that's why it felt more like an MMA fight.
What was up with the no leg locks?
Yeah.
So, um, I wanted to make this match fair for Bryce where like the level of us would be closer, you know,
so, uh, I knew that leg locks would make it to one-sided.
So I want, and he also said they're gay, right?
So we had to remove the.
thing that he said is gay, of course.
So we got rid of the leg locks, and
he's a hard guy that's up. He's a very
strong guy. I knew he would be very tough without
leg locks to submit him. I had one
very close anaconda that almost put him to sleep.
But his arms were so strong,
Ariel. I was like, what the hell is this?
Like, it's a different type of strength than the
jihisi people have. Oh, really? You can
notice it. Yeah,
it's not steroid strength. Did you have
just the shit on his steroid strength? He has
like farmer boy strength. He even told me before
he has that strength. And it's true, I was
like, holy crap, like he's really strong.
But it was so much fun.
Like me having to try to problem solve how to deal with his strength.
And like, I don't know.
I want to train with him more.
Like it was, I just enjoyed it, you know?
Like, I was laughing the whole time.
Even how he was rough with me, like putting his hand in my face.
One thing he did really fun, like I thought it was all hilarious.
One thing he did really funny was he took his fingers and put it as deep as he could
into my collar boat and just drove it in.
Wow.
Like when he was on top.
Yeah, I never seen that before or felt that.
But I don't know.
I guess because I'm a fan of like the MMA culture and stuff,
I thought it was cool.
So like I was just like, oh, this is cool.
Like this is interesting.
And I don't really care about getting hit or anything.
I'm getting punched every day in training.
So I just thought it was interesting.
He was also rubbing his head into your head and stuff, right?
That was so funny.
I was laughing when he did that.
I stuck my tongue out and started laughing, you know.
I just had fun.
You know, that's what it was about this match.
We just both had fun.
Like we both just left it out and had fun.
Like, I feel like the jitia community right now,
it's kind of boring how it is.
You know, like,
uh,
so me being with him was like a breath of fresh air.
We both had good vibes before.
He was super respectful to me.
I was super respectful to him.
And we just went out,
tried to kill each other and after respectful again, you know,
it's,
it's just a game,
you know,
it's like if we played chess or checkers or any possible game,
we're going to talk shit and try to kill each other.
And then after we're going to be friends.
How did you feel about him going into this?
He's somewhat of a polarizing figure.
He, uh,
says some things that might upset some people.
He's quite outlandish.
with his takes and then how do you feel about him in the aftermath?
So in person with me, it was so nice, right?
He was like one of the nicest guys in person.
So, yeah, he said some crazy things.
But I just focused on my interaction with him in person.
And he was nice with me in person.
So I just, I had fun.
And it gave me like that MMA high because right now when I'm changing it too,
it's kind of boring.
So when I do MMA sparring, I get that high, right?
So he gave me more of that high.
So I had fun.
You know, I just want to go out there and do it again.
Like, I kind of am done with grappling matches.
I've been talking to UFC about getting rid of my belt now and just moving on to doing more super fight-based matches like this because I actually enjoyed it.
I don't really have any more intention of defending my belt, but I still have to have that meeting with Hunter and the team.
Hunter has been so supportive to me.
I'm really grateful for Hunter.
And even in my MMA journey, like, that's my next path, right?
So right now, just I want to start doing more math.
matches like this, like maybe talk to have a grappling match like Brian Ortega or Amman,
people like that, that we could just bring the MMA audience into the matches and they could
enjoy it too. Because MMA people were able to watch this match finally, you know?
Usually the MMA people can't watch a Jiu-Satimatch. So this is what I feel like they were able to
watch. So if the person has to rub their head into my head, they have to put their fingers in my
face short. That's great. I think that's what made me happy. I'm like, okay, this is definitely
more entertaining for people.
You know, R.EF has enjoyed some success over the course of the past year by taking some of
these MMA guys and having them in wrestling.
It's great what they do.
Do you feel like this is the path that is best for you right now as far as grappling only,
you against UFC stars to try to bring in that cross-up audience?
Absolutely.
Okay. Yeah, for me, Ariel, I already won every title I wanted to in my weight class.
I don't have this.
I've literally maxed out.
There's no other title I could win in my weight class.
ADCCC is a weight class above me, 145, which is guys 170 cutting.
I waited at this.
I fought Bryce at 140 at 145.
I weighed in at 142 for weighing the day before.
So I'm not the weight of ADCC, you know,
so I'm not going up to 145 what people on a shit ton of steroids and are jacked at 170,
you know.
I want to just stay in my weight class 135 and 125.
So that weight class doesn't exist for me at ADCC,
which means I won every title I could in my weight class.
So now for me it's like, okay, it's kind of getting played out,
me just defending my belt over and over.
I just have no more interest in it.
it's more fun for me to do big matches like this
where we could get more people to do jiu-jitsu.
For me, that's special.
Like, the M.M.M.
people that watch, they'll be like,
oh, the jih Tzu, what is this?
And now they are educated.
Maybe one of those people tries to do jih Tzu after
and then we got some of the train.
Or we converted someone to watch Jiu-J right?
So I feel like that that was a major success
and I want to do more things like that.
Okay.
And so is there any part of you that maybe thinks
that you've graduated from UFCBJJJ?
Are you thinking of that?
I think I've graduated from the way I did jiu-jitsu.
With all my titles, Giy and Ogi.
I graduated from that.
I feel like super fights with MMA fighters.
Like what you said, the RAF format, I think that's amazing.
I think that's my new path right now.
Okay.
You've also been talking about the transition over to actual MMA fighting.
And in the post-fight or the post-match press conference,
you guaranteed you will compete in an MMA fight this year.
Is that accurate?
Absolutely.
So what happened was I was actually supposed to compete the day after in a
another organization for MMA right after my match with Bryce.
Wow.
Which one?
Yeah, so I was going to finish that secret.
I can't talk about it because I'm still in talks with many organizations now because that
one fell through.
Okay.
So my manager, Abe, is talking to many organizations and we have a good plan going forward.
But I was going to finish my match with Bryce, take a red eye somewhere else, and then fight
MMA.
So I was in this crazy mindset at that point, you know?
That's why, yeah, I just, I really want to do this, you know, Ariel.
I'm 30 years old.
I don't have that much time left in my life
to compete like this, right?
So I don't want any what ifs.
I'm loving the MMA training.
Like I'm addicted to it.
So I want to see how far I can go.
And I want to show people that are talking crap about me.
Just the same people that said I can't wrestle, right?
I took down Bryce twice, a high level MMA wrestler.
Didn't he take that earlier multiple times?
Like, he's a really good wrestler.
And I took him down twice.
You know, so like I kind of showed people like I do have wrestling, you know?
So I think I changed.
a lot of people's perspectives of me
after this match with Bryce
that I can handle
like that more rough thing
they probably thought I would cry
fighting Bryce
why do you think you love it so much though
why are you enjoying this
why do you want to do it
I grew up doing MMA as a kid
like striking moitai
all these different things
and I don't know
I've been a fan of it for so many years
and I kind of like being the underdog
and I like having to work my way up
and being a student of the game again
I love feeling like I'm a white ball
again I have to learn
does that make sense
Like it gives me that high.
Whatever I'm complacent doing something and I'm at the top of it,
it's kind of boring for me.
Like it doesn't give me any high anymore.
What I love is the high of,
oh, crap, I have to actually learn now.
I have to learn, you know?
So I have a great team here at Syndicate in Vegas with John Wood
that I'm training with every day.
And I'm just learning every day and improving.
I'm like three months into MMA training now.
So I've improved so much in three months.
And I feel like I'm only getting better.
And that's also why I like those MMA grappling superfights.
because they get me better with my MMA Jiu-Jitsu,
because it's a little different.
Yeah.
Once you do crossover and you start focusing on MMA,
do you think you'll also go back and do those grappling matches,
or do you think that will signal the end of your jih Tijuana?
I want to continue to do those grappling super fights.
I'm open to doing them,
but just more like athletes like Bryce,
Brian Ortega, Armand, people like that,
I would love to continue doing it because it helps my jihitsu,
and we also grow jih Tijuana at the same time.
Because even though a lot of
of Jitib people hate me,
I really do represent Jiu-Jitsu
when I compete in M-M-A.
You know,
everyone's going to,
all the Jitsu people that hate me
are going to rally behind me,
probably.
First,
they're going to want to see me
get killed,
but then when I'm doing well
or like,
then I'm going to be like,
oh, that's our guy.
You know what I mean?
Why do they hate you?
J-Jitsu is a very interesting sport.
Unfortunately,
there's not a lot of money in the sport,
so there's a lot of jealous envy
where everyone's desperate to just get from each other.
So it's a very toxic sport jihih Tid-M.
I'm a way nicer and
The actual athletes in MMA, if you ask anyone in MMA that came from DJT, they all say that the
MMA people are nicer.
It's just that everyone's kind of fake and they're like very like out to like get ahead of each other.
Does that make sense?
It's just not a lot of money in it.
I understand it.
It's an individual sport.
There's not a lot of money in it.
So everyone in Jiu-Jitsu is very jealous and trying to get ahead of each other.
Do you still feel like steroids are a huge problem?
What do you think, Ariel?
I don't know.
Nothing's got him better in this sport, you know?
So it's just very discouraging for me to continue in a sport.
that nothing's gotten better.
So it just makes me like screw this.
I already want all the titles I won.
Like I want to do a sport where they actually drug test and there's more.
They even have my weight class 125.
But when you're doing UFC BJJ, is there drug testing?
They're working on doing that still.
They haven't started it yet.
But again, I got through fighting all these steroid people and I'm just burnt out from it.
I don't have it in me anymore to just keep going with the same mold of people.
A nice kid that started steroids when he's like 12, 13,
and then gaslights everyone that he's the best
when he's just on so much steroids.
And then we just see it over and over.
This is the same trend in Jitia.
Nothing's changed.
Who are you talking about here?
Give us names.
You're so, no, that's so toxic.
I can't.
What do you mean toxic?
You're bringing it up.
I mean, you might as well go all the way, no?
What are you talking about?
I could plant things in people's minds.
I just can't say names.
That's how I am.
Okay, fair enough.
I don't want lawsuits.
and stuff and then I have to and then it's like are you serious like you're of course you're on so much
steroids but that's how all the competitors in jitia are but you know what they do ariel this is
something interesting uh this is what i'll tell people that are in jitzu all the people that'll tell people that are in
jihs all the people that pass the drug test are just on a hg hg because they can pass a urine
test or hg so that's why they look wide as fuck and they look like a tank they're like it's so
obvious they're like if you understand like the people that take thurts it's so obvious they become
like a tank and their bodies just get super wide it's like a picture and they just widen and that's
but HGH doesn't come up on a urine test.
Okay, okay.
You see a lot of kids on HGH also now.
Oh dear.
So they're just on so much HGH.
So it's just so bad and nobody cares
and it's just nothing's gotten better.
But whatever, I got through this sport,
I'll keep like saying the right things.
I'll keep telling the truth
and we'll slowly maybe change the sport over time.
I'm almost,
I almost want to become famous at MMA R.
just so I can have a bigger voice in Jiu-Jitsu.
I feel like if I become really famous
in MMA, people will have to
listen to me more?
No, I mean, the megaphone
gets bigger, the platform gets bigger.
Given your relationship, Mikey, with the UFC,
with Hunter, is it a natural
to think that the plan is
in place, get a few fights on the regional
scene, and they come over to the UFC?
Yeah, again, Hunter
has been so supportive to me
since I've came to the UFC. I'm super
grateful to him.
So I guess that would be the plan
long term. We'll see, though. There's a lot of
work for me to do with MMA, let's build me up.
And then, yeah, my goal would be to get to the UFC 125 and win that belt, you know.
But I have a lot of work to do before then.
That's like us, like seeing super far ahead, right?
One match at a time.
Let's get my level up.
Let's get me not to get killed standing and let's get me to the floor, you know.
I think people are going to be really surprised with my level, though.
Someone interesting you should talk to, I was John Wood, my coach, like how fast I've been
progressing.
He says I progressed so fast.
So everything's in place.
I love John. He's one of the best in the game and that team at Syndicate is amazing. I love his wife as well, Joanne.
They're amazing people. Can I ask, in your mind in the next 365, how many fights do you get? How many fights do you want in the next 365?
That's a great question. Definitely before 20, 27, I want one fight, right? That's me being fair because it's a few months left in the year. Then hopefully, at least four fights a year. Maybe. Maybe.
even more if I'm healthy. Hopefully, like, I get a lot of first job finishes, and then we could get
like more than, you know, I'm active. I train every second, right? It's never like I take off.
You know, I finished my match with Bryce and I immediately went back to training. So I never took off.
And you're going to be fighting at Flyway, right? 125.
125. That's my weight class. Bryce is a big 135er when I felt them. I'm like, nope, I'm not doing this
division. I think that at 125, I'll be very strong.
And I already went to UFCPI and they tested my body and everything.
They said I can make 125 no problem.
So anyone saying I can't, I 100% can.
I won worlds multiple times at 125 in Jiu-Jitsu.
I've never lost a match in that week class.
So I'm very good in that week class.
And as we sit here and speak today, do you have a date yet?
Do you know when that fight is going to be?
Not yet.
Again, I was supposed to be on that previous card.
Yeah.
That date.
So now I'm just waiting for them to confirm.
But do you know the promotion?
possibly.
There's like two or three promotions
my manager Abe is talking to right now
so I can't really disclose that.
But all I can disclose is I am going to fight.
I literally was going to do it the day after break.
That's crazy.
I'm in,
I'm in,
I'm full in this,
you know.
I said at the beginning of the show.
I was joking with John Wood.
We were going to finish,
sorry for interrupting me.
We were going to finish my match with Bryce.
And then I was going to immediately go to the back
and start doing pads with John before we flew to another place.
That was going to be our game plan.
I think this worked out.
better. It's probably best not to load the plate up too much. But I was saying at the beginning of the show, if I'm a key MMA, the new promotion headed up by Scott Coker or MVP, who's obviously taking over PFL, I try to sign you today. Forget regional scene. You're the kind of guy that brings eyeballs. And maybe you're new to this. Maybe you're not quite UFC level, but you're the kind of guy that's going to bring eyeballs to their new promotion. Have those promotions reached out to you or your manager yet? Because if I'm them, I'm trying to do a deal with you right now.
Yeah, a lot of promotions are reaching out to my manager.
And again, this is all a game, right?
I don't really know this game well.
We'll see where I end up.
And it's exciting, you know, the only thing I could control Ariel,
myself is my skill level, right?
So that's why I'm so obsessed.
I'm at UFCPI and syndicate every day,
sparring, learning, striking, you know.
So I'm just super excited, you know,
I just really want to get in there and I want to show people my skill.
You know, Ryan Hall is like my idol and he got so far.
I want to be a better version of his game if I'm capable of it,
as well as add a lot of cool tools that MMA people have.
Again, I've done Muay Thai my whole life,
since I'm like four years old.
I've done wrestling my whole life.
People just see my jihitsu game as a butt scooter playing guard.
I just did it because it was the easiest game to do.
You know, it's like Khabib's game doing wrestling, right?
But Khab has great striking.
He has great everywhere.
But of course, he's going to do the game that's most efficient for him to win, you know?
And I did take down Bryce twice this time
So I think I gave people who will respect me more
Like okay, he does have some wrestling
But given all of that you talk about the PI and the relationship
I feel like it's fed a complete
You're going to be a UFC fighter
I feel like the path the blueprint is set
I think the blue I think that I it's like I grew
It's like I'm a kid that grew up in a heritage right
With like a family that like you're kind of set in a path
But again anything could happen you know
We'll see like that is my dream to be a UFC champion
but my manager, Abe, is running my career right now
and we'll see where he puts me.
And I have a lot of work to do to get to that point.
So that's a great problem.
We'll have Ariel.
I would love to talk to you when we're like at that point.
We're like, oh, yeah, I could be a UFC champion.
Like, that's a lot of time from now.
So let's just get me to that level.
And until we get to that level,
let's just keep building me up.
And wherever I end up, I end up.
You seem to be good friends with Sean Strickland.
I know he's an extreme couture guy.
You seem to like him cornering Bryce for your match.
He was hilarious.
Any chance you get Sean to help you out with this?
Oh yeah.
I'm with Sean all the time at UFCI.
Okay.
He would for sure help me anytime I want.
You know, he's that type of guy.
Like, we're friends, you know?
And that's why he even talked shit to me.
Like, it's like, Sean's the loving person.
Like, you hate, he's like, fuck you for you.
He talks so much shit.
But like, he's loving at the same time.
You know, so he would for sure help me.
There's just so many people here that want to help me.
You know, I'm probably one of the most.
wanted to help people in Vegas.
Like, I get message so much from people wanting to help me.
My idol in MMA is Mighty Mouse, you know.
So Mighty Mouse also offered to help me at times.
So that's someone I really want to travel to learn from as well.
But John Wood's my coach, and I just take his guidance.
Also, Jordan Levitt has been helping me a lot.
He's from Syndicate as well.
So I've been learning a lot from him and O'Day, another UFC fighter,
has been helping me a lot.
So I have a great team here, but John's my head coach.
and I'm not against learning from all these amazing athletes.
Man, can you imagine Mighty Mouse in your corner?
That's what I mean.
I have a very close relationship with Mighty Mouse from one, you know,
and he's busy with his family and stuff,
but I really want to learn from him and get some time and learning from him.
He said he would help me.
You know, I said, bro, help me so I don't die, please.
But the guy's just such a genius, right?
He has, like, the highest IQ.
He's the goat of MMA.
Him and John Jones are my goats, like the light goat and the big goat.
You know, so I feel like I just would love to learn from Mighty Mouse as well.
Speaking of that sentiment, like, so I don't die.
How do you feel getting punched?
Are you sparring?
Are you getting hit hit?
Sparring every day.
I'm getting hit every day.
With what?
Are you using four ounce gloves, eight ounce gloves, 12 ounce?
What are you using?
I'm going to hit with eight ounce right now.
Okay.
How does that feel?
It's fun.
Like, I kind of like, it's kind of like, okay, it's like in jih jihitsu.
Like, you made a mistake.
And then you're like, oh, what did I do wrong?
It's not like, ow, I got hit in the face.
It's a different vibe.
Like, it's kind of like, and it kind of gives you more of a high when you're sparring.
Like that, okay, if I mess up, I get hit in the face.
I have to be careful not to make a mistake.
So I haven't had problems getting hit.
You know, that was the first thing that John Wood was wanted to make sure I could get hit and I can.
You know, I don't really care.
It doesn't bother me.
I'm an emo person, so I don't care about pain.
What do you mean by emo person?
What do you mean when you say that?
No, people that, like,
like emo music, right? They don't really, they're, they're dark inside. Like, some people,
physical pain bothers. I'm more of an emotional pain person. So, like, emotional pain, I feel a
lot, but physical pain I don't really care about. It's just when you're, like, wired as an athlete
your whole life, like, you know, I've been through so much shit in my life with training and dying
and train with such heavy people and the hardest trainings ever. So when people, like, say to me,
oh, you're getting hit in the face, can you handle? I'm like, of course I can. I definitely
don't want to get hit in the face. Ariel, I have a good brain.
I want to keep my brain.
I don't want a CET.
So that's why I really am focusing on technique right now,
so I don't get hit.
Which kind of emo music do you like?
Like Aver Levine style or like some 41?
Oh, all that music.
I love some 41.
Aval Levine.
He's just a skater girl.
He's a great.
You know that one?
I got to make things so complicated.
Complicated.
I feel the way you're acting like.
You're acting like.
damn, I'm hard about karaoke.
Oh my God.
I would love to do karaoke with you.
They're Canadians.
They're Canadians.
That's right.
That's right.
Thank you.
I'll give you that.
I'll give you that.
Thank you for them.
Thank you for them.
Maple Syrup.
Thank you for the telephone.
Shout out Alexander Graham Bell.
Amen.
Thank you for Nickelback.
Even though everyone hates nickelback.
I love nickelback.
Celine Dion.
Yeah.
Michael Bouble.
One thing I disagree, though.
One thing I disagree.
You guys say that you guys invented basketball.
I mean, the guy was from Canada, but he invented it in the U.S.
James Naismith was a professor at the University of Kansas, but he is of Canadian descent.
So I feel like we get the nod on that one.
But he was living in America in my, like, to be honest.
So we could share right.
I always argue with Canadians about this.
And we're brothers, right?
We're neighbors.
We should all come together.
We shouldn't be fighting, right?
Yeah, we have the same area code plus one.
That too, the same country code, I believe, right?
Absolutely.
Yes, yes, yes.
I like this.
You're bridging the gap.
perhaps you go to Montreal and train with the great George St. Pierre.
Oh my God.
That would be also an amazing opportunity to train with him.
He's one of my idols.
I would watch a show, Mikey Musamechi, going around the world to train with the great
MMA fighters of all time to learn a thing or two.
You in Dagestan with Habib, you in Washington.
That's what I mean.
Would that be so cool?
Someone needs to do this.
Even going to Bryce's ranch.
Oh, my God.
He invited me to his ranch.
If someone doesn't do this, we have failed.
This would be exquisite.
Phenomenal view.
Okay, okay.
So Ariel just made this idea.
We got to follow it, guys.
If you guys want to see me travel to different gyms in the world
and learn from the best, that would be such a cool show.
Let's do it.
We can do it on uncrowned on our platform.
What do you say?
I mean, that sounds like a cool idea.
Like, I would love...
Wow, what was that face, Mikey?
What was that face?
You didn't seem so into it.
I mean, I'm a little bit offended.
No, no, no.
I'm completely down.
I mean, golly.
I'm so much fun.
Okay, all right.
I thought you were...
That would be so much fun.
I know.
You're such a big shot, though.
You're so famous.
It'll probably cost us millions of dollars.
We'll have to negotiate with Hunter Campbell.
Abe is going to get involved.
There'll be a headache of a situation.
I mean, but this is the start of it, right?
This is the start of it.
This is it.
This is how we start things.
When you think, November, December, when do you think?
I'd like to be at your debut.
When is it going to be?
The second I know, I'll tell you first.
Is that fair?
That would be incredible.
I appreciate that.
Yeah, I won't even release out.
I'll just immediately tell you.
You're the man.
I'll say it on your podcast.
Oh my God.
Okay.
It's a deal.
Here we are, virtually handshaking.
I love it.
Congratulations on the win.
This is very exciting.
I love this.
Good luck in this transition over to the world of MMA.
And please keep us posted.
This is one of the great stories to watch in the back end of the year.
I can't wait to see how it unfolds.
Thank you so much, Ariel.
Have a great day, sir.
I appreciate you too.
There he is.
Darth Riggettony, Mikey Musamechi.
I love that guy.
What a legend.
He is unbelievable.
And let's do it.
Mikey in Montreal.
Mikey goes to Dagestan.
Mikey goes to Washington.
Where else are we going?
Where else?
Where else?
How about Mikey goes to Cuba with Yol Romero?
Learn a little bit of the shoddy man, dirty boxing.
You know, a little bit of that.
Mikey goes to Brazil with Josealdo.
Mikey goes to Japan with Shinya-yoki.
Could you imagine?
Mikey goes to Australia with Alex Volcano.
Mikesh. Mikey goes to New Zealand with Israel Adesanya. Who's not watching that? Tell me. Who?
James Tihuno?
Him too.
Eileen Perez is going to join us in about 30 minutes time. Talk about all the shenanigans that
happened over the weekend. Ben Whitaker, the surgeon, going to be joining us as well.
Always love my chats with the headman over at the California State Athletic Commission.
As I say time and again, the gold standard when it comes to combat sports regulation.
and there's a lot of really interesting things happening right now
in the world of combat sports.
And so without further ado, let us say hello
to the one and only Andy Foster,
who's kind enough to take some time out of his day.
Hello, Andy, how are you?
Great to hear from you.
Great to see you again.
Hey, Ariel.
Thanks for having me home.
You had a big show just a couple of weekends ago in Los Angeles,
UFC 331 at the Crypto.com Arena.
Some really interesting talking points came out of that event.
And as of late in combat sports,
so I wanted to pick your brain.
It's always a great, you know, an opportunity for us to hear from, in my opinion, one of the smartest in the game.
One of the big topics over the past week has been the banning of oblique kicks.
You have been at the forefront of this.
And my understanding is you would like for them to go.
Accurate?
And if so, why?
Yeah.
I think it's time.
I think that there are more risk than we should require our fighters to,
to have to deal with, to participate in mixed martial arts.
This is a kick that has long, long healing time and can have really a lifelong effect.
And fighters have a short window.
And at some point, they're going to be done with this.
And this kick is really, I mean, it's got its name.
It's about that oblique ligament at the back of the knee.
you essentially get the unhappy triad or whatever, as the doctors call it.
You bust all of those ligaments at once if this thing lands right.
And somebody could have a lifelong injury from this that they're going to deal with
way after this is over.
It's not worth it.
I don't think the public loses anything if this kick is banned.
There's plenty of other techniques if you're using it for distance.
But I think, unfortunately, I think a lot of fighters are at least the ones that use it.
I think the idea is to basically hypericks in the knee and bust these ligaments to win that way.
I think that's what it's for.
And if you're using it for distance, you can use a tape or a front kick or different things like that.
There's other tools.
And that's, you know, we have precedent with this, Ariel.
There's other things that we banned over the years.
and yeah, I think it's time.
So this has been a hot topic, this particular maneuver, a hot topic in MMA.
Really, I think, since John Jones kind of popularized it during his reign.
And so why now, I'm curious, did something happen recently?
Did you watch a fight recently where you thought it was egregious?
Why does this feel like it's such a pressing issue today?
Well, I mean, Shibazian got hit.
You saw at 331.
Yeah.
You see that?
Yeah.
And he looked at Mike, and Mike's like, it's, it's legal.
And, you know, sometimes some of the fighters don't even, I mean, look, when you get it, when you get it done to you, it feels like it should be, it should be a foul.
So that was, that was one thing.
And I've just been, I've been thinking about it for a while because we're going to go through kind of a rule.
we're going to kind of fix quite a few things in one swoop here with the rules.
We're going to fix the eye poaks as well or try to.
And you're going to see some more enforcement.
Arrow, you'll see the unintentional and intentional being changed to incidental,
reckless or malicious.
I think that's coming.
And the referees will start taking points very much.
more often for the eye pokes. I have come to the conclusion that until we start taking the points,
and look, I've always been against taking points in a 30-point fight. You're going to mess some
fights up. But it's the only thing I can figure out to do to get them to close their fists because
fighters are having eye injuries now from these things. And I'm not in favor of changing the gloves.
You can't change the gloves. That's going to adversely impact the graph where you've got to be able to open your hand.
but I think you've got to be,
I'm not saying anybody's purposefully gouging each other in the eye.
It's not what I'm saying,
but I think you can be more careful and not reckless
by sticking your hand out there with an open thing.
And if somebody runs into it, well, bad luck.
That's not what we should be doing.
And then I just want to clear up the spiking,
the opponent on the head or the neck.
I mean, as we're doing this, we might as well get it all.
I go back to the Rose versus...
Andrade fight down there in Brazil.
And, I mean, really, we're just talking about enforcement.
We don't need anything other than just spiking the opponent on the head of the neck,
the head of the neck.
I'm not talking about a triangle or an arm bar where you can let go.
That's not what I'm talking about.
You know what I'm talking about where a fighter can't defend.
That foul, you don't see it very often, but if you see it,
and we saw it up here in California last year, you don't see it very often.
but when you see it, it's rough.
So full disclosure, and I don't think you'll mind me saying this.
You and I had a bit of a text conversation about the oblique kicks, and you asked me my opinion.
It's the same opinion that I've said on the show, and I am not in favor of banning them,
because I feel like that's starting to take away from the spirit of the sport.
It's a very dangerous sport.
And then I wonder, what's next?
Heel hooks are gone.
So what do you say to someone like me who says, this is something that you have to contend with?
It's not necessarily dirty.
I know it can be used somewhat maliciously, but how do you?
you determine what's malicious and whatnot, and then look at some of the stuff that can happen on the ground.
What do you say to someone like me who says, you know what, this shouldn't be taken away?
Well, I mean, look, hill hooks you can tap from.
You can tap from a knee bar.
The argument that I've heard for this thing is, well, don't put weight on the front leg.
I've heard that argument.
Or you can move, learn to a defendant.
I've heard that argument.
And look, Ariel, the whole idea with learning to defend it, you only have to be wrong once with this thing.
And then you've got a real injury on your hand.
You're out for a long time.
And as a regulator, look, I've no more now than I did back 20-something years ago when I was fighting.
When I was fighting, I'd probably say, I'll just defend it or whatever because I was younger.
and less savvy to what's going on.
But this will end, and we can't leave our people.
It's dangerous enough as it is.
I don't think you take anything away from it by taking away one strike.
We've got a whole lot of things that we don't allow.
We don't allow head buds, throat strikes, back of the head shots.
There's a whole lot of things that's a foul.
And I think linear strikes of the knee, I think that's probably a good idea.
idea to put that in as a foul as well.
Okay, so you mentioned tapping, right?
You mentioned that that's a possibility.
I guess that's the distinction.
I'm just wondering, are there stats that back up, that oblique kicks have ruined careers or significantly
sidelined fighters, has your team or anyone who's heading this up looked into just how
bad this is, how bad it can be for a fighter?
I've got a few insurance things where the insurance.
where the bill from these things are pretty high.
But like I said, it doesn't happen that often,
but I think it's happening a bit more than it used to.
I think it's happening a bit more than it used to.
And I think fighters are beginning to train it.
And that's really where if we start training this kick,
as a regulator, you have to determine the appropriate level of risk.
And I think this thing is too much risk.
for a fighter to participate in a state-regulated activity.
So, again, trying to figure out the sort of best course of action here
and playing a little bit of devil's advocate,
you say, well, you can't really, like, say, oh, you know,
you could defend it, you can move out of the way, that sort of thing.
How do you explain to the public and myself that this is something you're uncomfortable with,
but yet the California State Athletic Commission licenses power slap,
where you are literally a sitting duck getting some.
slapped, no defense whatsoever.
I don't understand how you could be so worried about oblique kicks, but yet feel okay with
having power slap events in California.
Well, it was a one event license.
They don't have a permanent license.
So are they done?
Are they not welcome back?
No, they've never done it here.
We've never saw it here.
It's never happened here.
Would you become, I mean, but you did, just by virtue of giving them the one event license,
that means that you are comfortable with them holding an event there, no?
When we gave it, I forget which year it was, but they've never came here.
We didn't know much about it.
We still don't know much about it.
There's not a lot of data on that particular activity.
Are you comfortable with a power slap event happening in California?
I'm comfortable one time.
Let's see what happens.
I've never saw it in person.
But you've seen enough of it.
it on camera, right? I haven't seen it in person. I think it's abhorrent. I think it's mind-numbing.
I can't believe that any commission, including Nevada, which I don't consider the gold standard,
you are the gold standard. I can't believe they allow it in the state of Nevada. A young man
almost had his eye taken out. Did you see that, Jake Hager? That was in Texas, but still,
like he almost had his eye taken out by just standing there like a sitting duck and getting slapped
in the face. This is setting back combat sports, in my opinion. This is against everything that
combat sports should be, right? Defend yourself.
Well, look, I mean, we're talking about mixed martial arts, though, with the files.
I'm chair of that committee. I'm chair of the Rules Committee for Mixed Martial Arts,
and I think the oblique kicks are, I think it's more level than, more risk than, than, I think, a fighter.
I mean, there's some pretty serious injuries that have came out of this thing.
But I think the power slapped, to your point, I think, I mean, I'd want to see it.
I've not saw it yet in person.
Okay.
You haven't been to an event.
I've not.
So where does that stand right now?
You gave them the one event license and they didn't take you up on it?
They've never came.
No.
I don't, I'm not sure why, but they've never done it here.
Does that expire after a year?
I don't think so.
So if they did want to come, they can just use that one event license and take it from there?
Well, I mean, they'd probably need to send in the paperwork and all the stuff for it,
but the commission gave them a one event license.
One event permit.
Back to the oblique.
So what happens now?
Like, can you give us the steps?
Is there a vote?
Yeah.
Yeah, I'm going to take it.
I'm going to, I'm got a meeting next week with the committee.
And I'm going to talk to them about this.
I'm going to talk to them about the iPop.
thing, and I'm going to talk to them about the, just fixing that language.
Because Herb brought, Herb's brought that up to me several times about spiking the opponent.
I think we can fix that while we're doing this.
But the eye pokes are very much a, I mean, that's a problem too.
I think you would agree with that.
Oh, yeah.
You see what happened to Tom Aspinall now?
I have so.
Yeah, sure.
Three surgeries, maybe a fourth.
The guy who poked him is now the undisputed champion of the UFC.
doesn't seem very fair, right?
It pays to cheat in MMA more often than not.
Well, look, I mean, I don't, I don't, I, with, with Cyril gone, I mean, he, he, he, he, he, he won that,
are you talking about the event at the White House?
I'm just saying, he poked Tom Aspinall, the fight ends inconclusively, he gets an interim
title fight against Alex Perra, who very clearly disagreed with some of the officiating in that fight.
He wins the interim title.
now he's been elevated to undisputed champion.
He's about to headline an event a year later at Madison Square Garden as the man.
It pays to cheat.
It's like grabbing onto the cage.
It's grabbing onto the gloves.
It's pulling on hair.
More often than not, the person who cheats gets a slap on the wrist but advances their career.
Meanwhile, the one who has the foul inflicted on them is left in the dust.
Yeah, I saw some study where the fighter who eye pokes has a better test.
chance of winning. If you saw that study, I saw that somewhere. It's a crazy thing.
Yeah, so we're trying to fix that. That's something that, and that's an enforcement issue.
I think the rules are already there. It's just really just enforcement. And there's a difference
between offensive and reactionary, because, you know, if you're getting attacked and you
could reactionary hit the eyes, and I get that. But at some point, we've absolutely got to start
taking points for these eye pokes. And I believe behavior will change. You remember when we
changed the committee. We came back a few years ago with grounded fighter. Do you remember that?
Yes, of course. Okay, so like some of the people that were against that, I mean,
we're going to be dead people in the cage and all this stuff. I mean, I heard all kind of things.
And it turns out nobody does that anymore. Have you noticed? Have you saw it done anymore?
Reaching down and playing this game? No, no. No, no. I haven't saw it either.
It very much changed. Now, I don't think the iPod thing will be that easy. Yeah. But I think
that this is going to be a, I think that'll be a positive, I think that'll be a positive change.
I don't need the publicly even notice the oblique kicks if we get rid of it. But, I mean,
there's a process. My committee will meet. I'm going to ask Tim Shipman to call the ABC together,
you know, maybe for a for a Zoom-type vote later in the year. And then we'll get some lead time
so that we can inform the commentators and the media of people like you if those files do go
into place. Okay. I'm going to be very interested to see how that plays out. There was that event in
LA and one of the, one of the reoccurring themes over the course of the past six months or so
has been every time Herb Dean comes on camera, he gets booed. Are you worried about this?
We've talked about this. These are human beings. Self-confidence, mental clarity, it all comes
into play. Are you worried about one of, you know, the most recognizable names in M.MA officiating,
getting showered with booze and that affecting him
and maybe clouding his judgment in some of these fights?
No, Herb Dean is an excellent, excellent referee.
And so, look, he does a wonderful job.
Every now and then, just like anybody else,
he can make a mistake just like anybody else.
But I would rather have Herb Dean in there
than just about anybody.
that I know. Herb Dean is very good at what he does.
He's being, that was an unfair assessment.
He's a, but look, the fans have a right to boo who they want to.
They pay their money.
They can go boo who they want to.
But he's, he has my total confidence.
And Mark Goddard has my total confidence, Jason Herzog.
I mean, I can go through Mike Beltran.
These are very, very good referees. Herb's the senior referee in California right now since John moved away, and Herb has my total confidence.
I love the fact that you had this open discussion after 331. The media was invited as well.
Why don't more commissions, and I know you can't necessarily speak for them, but why is in this the norm, Andy?
Why can we see this after every event? Every event in the United States, the media is allowed to listen in on the discussion.
Why is it a 50 to 45 to Ron McCarthy?
This is all very valuable and this is all very transparent.
Why is this not the norm?
Well, I think it probably should be.
I think some commissions don't do a debrief, though.
I know.
Yeah, that's right.
Not only is it not made available to the public,
there's no debrief to begin with.
Yeah, so I think that's part of it.
Why can't everyone do it?
Some of it may be that they don't want to air the dirty laundry out in public.
That may be part of it.
And like there's this idea that there's no accountability of these judges.
That's never been the case here.
By the way, Ron McCarthy is a good judge.
I mean, I just didn't see round four.
I don't, you know, and I'm not standing by that.
But, I mean, really, think of how far we've come.
We're talking about one round and a five round five.
all night, and that was the round that I kind of focused on.
And look, I think, I think that's wrong.
But, you know, the right guy won, okay?
I had Derek's score, but I don't care if you have Salis score,
Derek score, it doesn't matter.
The only one I was really focused on was round four.
But Ron's a good judge.
You'll see Ron again.
I've got confidence in him.
I think he just missed that round.
But they answer your question, I think more commission should do it.
And I also think that, I mean, there's nothing to hide back there.
I mean, we're just talking about scores.
And sometimes the media has questions that they want to ask.
And I don't care if they want to ask them.
Do you have any issues with, you know, neon was a cornerman for Armand?
Is this the best use of cornermen to have influencers in there?
Can this be a slippery slope?
this is life and death. People can die in these fights. How do you feel about this?
They're independent contractors, man. I don't care if they, as long as they meet the criteria,
I don't care if they, who they want to corner them. No, no issues.
We've, yeah, we've got doctors that are watching. I mean, look how, look how well,
the Nevada Commission did this, this past weekend by getting the fighter medical attention
quickly. How did you feel about how that was handled with the Barcellos?
Well, I mean, I can only see because I wasn't there.
Right, Nevada.
What was going on behind the scenes.
But it looked like Herb responding quickly.
It looked like the medical staff responded quickly.
It looked like everybody that had trained to do that over and over and over in training.
It looked like it worked out just like they had trained it.
Okay.
Some people were critical of the way he was being taken out in the gurney and all that stuff on the stretcher.
Yeah, that's almost.
almost like a medical type thing because once the commission transfers to the to the to the paramedics
it's their patient at that point.
Um, the amount of felt like it the, the, the, it was important for the speed. I don't know,
but I thought that the speed and the way that they handled it was, uh, I mean, look, they gave him,
they gave him every opportunity and he looks like he's going to be, you know, I mean,
what did he give a, he gave a, uh, a shout out yesterday, didn't he? Yes.
Speaking of Nevada, they've caught in a bit of attention for this fine that they're issuing for fighters, you know, jumping on to the top of the cage, jumping over 2,500 or so.
How do you feel about that?
Is California going to do that?
Oh, no.
I mean, look, one of them did it the other day.
Did you see it at 331?
Yes.
I've been armist that did it.
One of them did it.
That's not my.
Fighters are excited.
Like, it'd be better if they didn't do it.
I think where Nevada comes from is it's a public safety concern because, I mean, they can come back.
I get all that.
I just get excited.
I don't want to find, I don't want to take fighters money for that.
Okay.
I'm glad to hear that.
I think a lot of people think that might be a little excessive.
Just a few more minutes with you.
And again, I love peppering you with these questions just to hear what you're thinking
and to get some insight.
It's very rare that we get any type of insight into this world.
The Muhammad Ali Boxing Revival Act, it's moving along.
long, Nico Ali Walsh getting involved.
It seems as though we're getting close to finally getting passed, maybe a little bit longer
than some suspected initially.
How do you feel about where it's at right now?
I think it's good.
I like some of the things that the House had put in, other than what the House of Representatives.
Obviously, I don't think it's going to be a, I don't think it's going to be the same bill
that comes out of the Senate, being the House, and they'll probably have to work it out
in conference committee.
But overall, it's a good bill for boxing on the top of the thing.
Look, and I'm so, I get so frustrated when people say, well, $200 doesn't matter.
I would point to the sheer number of dollar contracts going on in boxing in this country.
That bill does more for protection, especially for low-income fighters and for the main fighters in this country,
than any other bill that's been before it.
It gives minimum insurance, minimum pay, minimum medicals.
These are things that have long been overdue,
and this sets a floor, not a ceiling, but a floor.
And those are great things for boxers,
as well as it gives boxers a choice,
not a requirement, but a choice,
to fight under a UBO model if they choose to do that.
There's this idea that it's just going to be ZUFA,
just wait. If that bill passes, you'll see more UBO's approach. And then you'll still see the four-belt system.
I don't know if it'll always be a four-belt system. There may be some consolidation in that.
But, you know, right now you've got the WBC and the BO and the BA and the BF.
So you still have that if you want.
So you're happy with the amendments and where it's at and where it's moving towards?
look, you know, with the contract length thing, I understand that that's being built as a fighter protection type thing.
I don't like to put American promoters at any kind of disadvantage against foreign entities because we are talking about a global sport.
So, you know, I thought what they settle on three years.
I believe it was three years for a debut fighter.
You could potentially see less U.S. promoters signing debut fighters.
You could.
I don't know if that's going to happen, but you could.
I think maybe four or five years would have been better, but look, I'm not, look,
look, I can live with it.
It's fine.
It's certainly better.
And there's always gives and takes.
And if this is something that the boxers wanted as a means of fighter protection, it's not my hill to die on.
But I do like to remain like, you know, this is the American Boxing Revival Act.
And I do want to keep American boxing promoters on a level playing field or at least as level as possible with their foreign counterparts.
Because we do deal with foreign entities on a very regular basis.
you were in Washington for that White House card
I believe in an official capacity
because the ABC was the commission
because it was in D.C.
In the last week or so, maybe two weeks,
Alia Tuporia made a comment about Justin Gaci's gloves.
Any response to what he was saying
it was relatively vague,
but it seemed as though he was insinuating
that the gloves were tampered.
What can you tell us about that?
They weren't.
Do you think he was just, is it even possible to do that with MMA gloves in your opinion?
Well, look, I mean, I think it would be possible, like, but it would be very, like, it'd be very hard.
Like, the rap's not as big as boxing. You can do it in boxing and you can somewhat get away with it.
If you, I mean, I think you would agree, Margarito got caught doing it.
I think got caught here doing that.
But it's just, no, I don't know.
I think it's hard to do.
And there were so many eyeballs on that.
You had California inspectors, Nevada inspectors.
Our chief inspector, Mark Raleigh, had that fight.
Just it did not happen.
Justin Gage won fair and square.
Have you ever seen someone try to do this?
Have you ever caught an MMA fighter trying to do this?
No.
No.
Caught boxers.
doing it. Yes, exactly. But the gloves are so much smaller, right? I don't even know how you would.
You remember, like, and this is not, I'm digressing a little bit, but do you remember when they
were trying to put the little chip in the glove? Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. You remember that? Like,
I know it's not the same thing, but you'll understand the logic. Like, we had, we were trying it out
and stuff and the chip would fall out. Like, stuff would fall out of the glove. Like, I don't know if it
wasn't in there that good or whatever, but at one point it didn't work. So there's not a lot of
room. There's not a lot of room in there. Right. Before I let you go, I wanted to ask you about two
weeks ago, we had Scott Coker in studio, and he told a story about how in 2006, when he was launching
strike force, I wanted to have his first event in San Jose. He wanted to have the fights in a ring,
but I believe it was Armando Garcia, former head of the California State Athletic Commission,
and said it was going to take way too long to get that approved.
So he had to go in the cage like everyone else, and he's stuck with the cage.
Well, he just announced his new promotion, Key MMA, and he's going to be using a ring.
Would he be okay to fight in a ring, to have events in a ring in the state of California?
Would you be okay with that?
Sure, we do it now.
Okay.
You have no issues with that.
We have to have five robes.
Right.
There are a few things.
The big thing I was telling them about is, like, when you're fighting,
in a ring.
There was this idea last year they wanted to have catchers.
Okay.
Do you know what I'm talking about for pride?
Remember the catchers?
Yep.
Okay.
That doesn't work well.
Okay.
Like, you need either the table or a bigger apron.
Does that make sense?
Because when the fighter falls out and they will, they will.
Yep.
It's been my experience that the table helps to catch them.
And it's a lot quicker than somebody running there trying to catch them.
I mean, I don't mind if you want to.
to have some catchers that help with that, but you've got to have a big apron and you've got
to have the tables also. We saw that actually recently in Ireland. Thomas Cardi fought a gentleman
named Dave Allen and they fell out of the ring and Thomas Cardi got hurt and they had to call
the fight off like 82 seconds in. Yeah, remember I had Bernard Hopkins. Do you remember? That's right.
Yeah, yeah.
I'm out here with the fighter from New York. Joe DeGordia's fighter. I can't remember his name.
But you know what I'm talking about.
Before I let you go, the California retired boxer pension fund.
How is that going?
The license plate initiative, the Combat Sports License Plate Initiative that you've headed up,
which helps out not just boxers, MMA fighters as well, right?
It does, yes.
We're working on getting the license plate, so you can go on our website and get that.
And hopefully people will order that plate.
If we get 7,500 of them, the DMV will put it.
into full production and then that money will start flowing to the to the boxers, an MMA
pension fund. And Governor Newsom signed a bill recently that allocated a million dollars to the
MMA pension fund. So it's going quite well.
I would love to get one of those license plates and putting it up, putting it up in the studio
here, maybe an uncrowned version, UNCRWD, something like that. Where can I order this?
Do you know it off the top of your head?
I'd love to do this right now.
Well, it's on our website.
We'll get you the link.
I'll have Patricia.
Send me the thing and we'll send it to you.
It's on our website on how to order it.
And we'll try to get you a plate you can put up.
I'd love to have you a plate up there behind your...
Oh, that'd be great.
I'll put it right back here.
Your office is so cool.
Remember when I came there?
Yes.
And I heard your kids were shooting hoops outside.
They were.
They were.
They was such a great.
man, you got a really big spay.
I didn't know.
You thought we were just a small operation in a, you know, in a basement or something, right?
Well, I didn't, man, I mean, like, look at your, look at the thing.
Man, that is a really big, what is that the whole floor or something?
It was a really big outfit.
We're, you know, we're doing our part here, Andy.
We're doing our part, and I appreciate those kind words very much,
and always appreciate your time very much as well.
Thank you for coming on.
Six months from now.
Last question.
Obliate kicks band.
Yeah, I think so.
Oh, I lost that one.
10-9, Andy.
Well done.
Thank you, Andy.
Appreciate the time, as always.
There he is.
Andy Foster, the executive director of the California State Athletic Commission.
He, in my opinion, comes on.
He answers the questions.
You may not always agree, but that is the gold standard, in my opinion.
An interesting quote here from Matt Brown.
I saw this quote when talking about the oblique kicks.
He was talking to, I think, Damon Martin of MMA fighting.
They do a show together every week.
Obliak kicks can be dangerous and end a person's career as opposed to what, punching slash elbowing, kneeing, kicking him in the face and bruising his brain?
These guys are so weird.
The entire point of a fight is to inflict bodily harm.
Is that not obvious to them?
Andy seems to think that it is a little too malicious and it can cause a little too much damage.
And so there you go.
It might be on its way out in very much.
very short order. Still to come, Ben Whitaker, the surgeon, speaking of inflicting bodily harm,
he has a huge show coming up in just four days' time in Birmingham, another fun weekend of
combat sports coming up, of course, headlined by UFC 332, live on CBS, by the way, and we'll be
watching it with all of you at an undisclosed location. All you have to do is go to the YouTube chat link
right there, courtesy of our friends over at Kalshi. That's the link, if you want to go to that as well.
Luma.com slash calci uncrown, myself, Rick, G.C.
We're all going to be there.
And you'll be able to watch UFC 332 with us live and in living color.
Last weekend, the UFC was at the meta apex.
Co-main event was a highly emotional and emotionally charged grudge match between
Eileen Perez and Norma Dumont.
In the end, Eileen Perez won a somewhat controversial decision.
There were a lot of theatrics before the fight, during the fight.
After the fight, wanted to have the pride of Argentina on to talk about it all.
And she's kind enough to join us right here.
And now on this Tuesday morning in Las Vegas, she's over in Las Vegas to help corner her friend.
Hello, Eileen.
How are you?
How are you?
How is ta?
Tonto time.
Oh, yes.
It's been a long time, Ariel.
How are you?
Everything's good.
Everything's great.
Thank you so much.
It's great to have you on.
And congratulations on the big win.
How are you feeling, Eileen, two days after or three.
three days after that big win, that emotional win over Norma Dumont.
Yeah.
Emotionally, me sento a fucking champion.
The puttapiona.
Emotionally, she feels like she's the fucking champion.
Wow.
The bitch champion.
Not champion.
Why?
Why?
Why do you feel that way?
Why do you feel so happy?
Me treated to puta.
So, manifestamos, a lo champ, to the grand.
I'm a puttian.
So in Spanish, like it translated like they tried it to treat her like she was a hoe.
And at the end of the day, you know what, the hoe became the champion.
She's the champ.
She's the fucking champion.
In your entire career, Eileen, is this the most rewarding and gratifying win so far of your career because of the emotion involved in the fight?
This was the victory, the victory, being that there's emotions entering in this play.
Yeah.
Yeah.
So, it was definitely the most emotional fight I had, but definitely not the hardest.
Okay, so can I take a step back?
Where did this issue arise from with you and Norma?
Like, what's the genesis of this beef?
Why was there so much bad blood going into the fight?
So I want to go back to the fight.
What was the origin of why there was a lot of anger between you and Norma Dumont?
She always me took zeal and envy every time that we partied him.
for being the cartelera, for
the culls of the category,
and we knew we'd have to
find out of her. She said she
me retchazzed a lot of times.
Never kissed to play with me.
So, I think
where it started was that we
shared cards together in the past,
where we were both like the two big
butts of the card, and I think that there was
a lot of jealousy and envy
that she was feeling
watching me be the star
of the show. So on top of that,
I've been trying to fight her for so many years, and there's been
so many times where she's declined to fight me
and then come out and said that I declanified her,
which made no sense.
But yeah, I think that was where the origin,
at least on my end of why I don't like her.
You really think it came down to that?
Her being jealous of your posterior,
you think that that was the issue?
Think that that was the problem?
Yes, and,
and, also of her noviour, too.
Of her noviour,
because every time that we cross-a-in-in-la-begas or in some event,
the novio of her never,
But then she was disconcentrava and
I think definitely, yes,
it's because of she's jealous of my butt.
But also because of her boyfriend,
Marco O'Tulio,
every time that we saw each other,
it was like this thing where he just would look at me
and I think that that would really bother her
and it would disconcentred.
At the way ends, at the face off,
she threw money at you and condoms at you.
Why did she do that?
In the caro,
they took money and condones.
Why did that?
because I have only fans and because
has filtered some photo or video my
and denude. And I
wanted to miscreasier, me
I wanted, like, um,
um, shiard,
tratan me of something,
that I'm not going to be a problem.
She wanted to take me from the enfoque because I was
very enfocated.
So, I have an only fans
and maybe there has been like a photo or video
that filtered that she saw.
So she was really just trying to
dehumanize me and treat me like,
I'm this disgusting horror.
And at the end of the day,
even if I was or I wasn't,
what's wrong with what I do in my personal life?
I don't think there's anything wrong.
I think what she was trying to do
was to take away the focus that I had in the fight
and she wasn't able to do that.
Did that upset you?
No, for nothing.
Al-keleast her was my dad.
For that, I tried to not disconcentrar me and to win that play.
No, it didn't bother me at all,
but it did bother my father.
So I just made sure that it didn't take me away from my focus and I had to win the fight.
I was wondering if, you know, that interaction there made you even more upset come Saturday
or were you able to completely focus on her and not be too emotional in the fight?
If you were you think that what she did,
you did start a little more emotional,
or if not you disconsentro that?
No, sincerely, to me not affect it for nothing.
of actually, it was a very good reaction,
and, on the same,
me helped to vend more the play,
because it was the first rival,
at the fin,
that's out of the focus of the play,
and can responder me to my stimulus.
No, I mean,
I don't think it disconcentrated me at all.
I already didn't like her.
And in the way,
I felt like it helped me
because finally,
for the first time in my life,
I have an opponent
that actually tried to promote the fight.
Usually I don't say anything,
and for once I had an opponent
that actually did a good job
in promoting
the fight to make it bigger. So in a way, she actually helped me by doing that.
By the way, I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm
too much in the case of her, so that me subestimed
that when in the first round, I derivo,
she's desperate.
I think that she also underestimated me so much
during this fight because I got so much into her head
that when I got her down in the first round and I was controlling her,
I could feel how desperate she was in that position.
By the way, as an aside, how many, how much
How much money did she give you?
How many dollars?
And a question,
rapid is,
how many dollars
you did,
Norma,
when they let me
two dollars,
and when they lost
he said,
puttas,
he paid with
money.
Puta,
puta.
And between the
Raun,
me said
that was a
puttah.
So she
actually only
gave me two
dollars.
Oh.
And she
gave it to me.
All she kept
saying to me
was you pay
whores with money,
you pay
whores with money.
She just kept
saying that
same thing.
And during the
fight,
she was the
first opponent
that I
had,
who would speak to me
and she would look at me
and instead of hitting me
she would just call me a whore.
She would say, you're a whore.
Norma was knockiarm me.
Okay,
she was to lastimarily
to Kyi Lestim Peres.
No, he had a purpose
to gain a buskid of
accrued to accrues or
be a little
to be a particular
for Brazil.
She was a little
personal with me
is that I was
just that I'm focused
in ganar the
play as it,
was getting
more difficult
and thinking
always more difficult,
For me, I think that the biggest difference was that when Norma fought me,
what she was trying to do was when she would throw,
she would throw with everything to try to knock me out.
That's good, but I felt like she didn't really go in there with a plan of trying to win the fight.
Where with me, I don't care about the emotions.
I didn't care about getting in there and just trying to have a personal beef with her like she was with me.
I made sure that I was focused on the game plan, sticking to it,
making sure I win each round and making sure that I'm different and get my hand raised.
And I think that's why I won the fight.
say to the people who say there were so much going into this fight, so many theatrics, all that stuff,
trash talk, but then the fight didn't quite live up to the hype. There wasn't enough action.
There wasn't enough, you know, violence there between the two of you. What is your response to
that?
For the people that are saying, that was a playa, that they've gotten to do, they're doing
so many
things,
but
when
they were
not they're
not they're
going to
have done,
I'm going to
have given
more action.
For that
people that
do you
respondes
to that people,
that's
comments to
you.
Well,
first,
that's
easy
to be
the camera,
it's
easy
to be
to be
back to
the
scene,
I always
I think
that the
fans and
the
people are
to be
good or
can't
do you
do
do the
do
do the
do
do
do it's
did the
I've
have
done
more.
I'm
sure that
this
victory
I'm the
championa
I'm going
to go
to get
to get
to have
the
and
for the
fans
that they
think
that's
that's
not too
I'm
so much
I did the
second
round,
me did
a
battle and
that's
a
point
that means
much
more than
some
the
fans and
the haters
are always
going to
be there
to
criticize
I
mean I
tried
my
best to
having a good fight.
Could I have I done more?
Yes, I could have.
But at the same time, in the first round, I won the round.
The second round, I almost got knocked out.
And you can see from my face that I did get hit.
And in the third round, I found a way to win.
Because at the end, I'm not trying, I don't care about really what criticisms are
from the fans as much when they're always going to criticize any performance.
What I care about is that I won the first round.
the second round I lost and I was hurting pretty badly
and the third round I found a way to win
by getting that round to make sure that I won the decision unanimous.
And, of all forms,
it was what I thought that was going to pass.
That she was strong and I resolve it with my techniques.
Obviously, I want to start a lot of a play,
I don't want to be lastimated.
And I vendy the play as a form personal
for that she vanguard and I execute the MMA.
And really my strategy was from this whole time
is that I know that she was going to come with everything to try to knock me out
and I was going to use my technique to make sure that I'm able to resolve those things
and to win the fight.
At the end of the day, I sold the fight to have bad blood so she would be emotional.
So she came into the fight emotional and I was able to do my game and win two other three rounds,
which is why I also believe that after this win, I deserve to be fighting for the title.
If I don't put the play tanning, if I didn't let's see to enochers,
If not he not did
get out of the
maybe the
play not
going to be
a lot of
going to be
a play
more difficult.
If I didn't
make her
emotional,
if I didn't
have her
be so angry
and try to
fight so
reckless,
maybe she would
have been able
to have beat
in me
or at least
would have been
a harder
fight for me.
So in my
opinion, I
did exactly
what I needed to do
to show
that I'm the
next champion.
Peleererer
with
is very
dangerous because
they can
try
to kill
a
to matter
but
also is a advantage
of that you can't
can't get a
sequence and you,
as having more technical
and more capacity
to understand the
game,
I can't
get a danger, but
always going to
be a danger in this
because obviously
if I get a girl
very angry,
she's going to be
throwing absolutely
everything at me
to knock my head off.
But at the same time,
there's an advantage
behind this because they
become emotional,
they swing too much,
they get tired faster,
and that's what really
I was looking to do
in this fight,
and I think it worked.
Before they read the scorecards, did you truly think you had done enough to win the fight?
Before they used, you did you get a decision?
You felt you got the play 100%?
Of course.
I gained the play.
The first round was sufficient to win her.
The second round, she had a little bit of two goals more than I significant.
And almost a goal of a knockout.
And the third round, at the final of the round,
was sufficient to have himpuged to Cage and have to have done it to me
to be able to give me the round.
Obviously, no, I
just thought
a little bit honojada,
but I was going.
No, 100% I thought
that I won the round.
I mean, the first round I know I won,
the second round I lost,
and then the third one was a very close round
where the strikes were pretty much the same,
even though I think I got a little bit more
of the quality shots in that round,
and then I was able to hold her against the bench
and do a little bit of damage against the cage.
So I definitely won the fight.
The reason why I looked serious
before they read the scorecards
was because I didn't like,
my performance. I didn't like how the fight went. I was hoping for it to be better on my end,
but I did know 100% that I won the fight.
It's very difficult to play with someone that's in the middle and no
want to play. Norma no has advanced, no has retroceded, no has
retroceded, me cost to encounter the angles, me cost to
change the guardia because I was always the same,
vina,
vina, with a...
...withan with a game horrible. I was just about
to cross, to interchangiar, to derivar, to
get Yu-Shik, his attack, defense, clinch,
to do everything I prepared.
but, lamentably, I took to give the 20% of me
because she not accompanied
to want to belearse,
understand?
And the thing with her is that she had this shitty game
where she would just stand in the middle and just wait for me.
She didn't go forward.
She wouldn't go backwards.
She would try to knock me out,
but also not take any risk by doing it.
I was ready to do a lot of things.
I was ready to go into the clinch.
I was ready to work my angles,
to start pressuring and then go backwards.
But when it's very difficult to have an exciting fight
with someone who constantly has a shit game
and is boring and uh...
What was the last thing that you?
But,
but me alcancor to get me,
but me alcance was to
get me much
apprenticeship and this
play me served for
to get better
to the stintun.
But at the same time,
what I am appreciative of
is that this fight did help me grow.
It made me a better fighter
and it helped me,
uh,
it's going to help me become the champion.
Uh, but the reason why I didn't really love the performance
was also because I only showed really 20%
of what everything I can do.
The Norma, I play with the 20% of my
and, poor-sita, of who
is the next to the other 80%
I'll go to look at the next
my abilities. So,
whoever's my next opponent, I really feel bad
for them because they're going to be seeing the other 80%
of it. When they announced the scorecards,
Eileen, why did you
twerk in her direction? Why did you
feel the need to do that?
When they let's hear on the
decision, why leotiered
in the direction of Norma? Why
You think you had to do that?
Because it was like a response to what she
did in the pesage, no?
She was a greater
a lot, me quissue,
very feo to me and a
all the representation prostituta
of the world that maintain to his family,
to his children with that
work, of a way, to be a
way, and he said, okay, in the
the play, I have to respond.
to get her.
I'm going to get her.
What is what she
is going to do
everything with the way
and the way that she treated
me, throwing condoms and money at me.
I wasn't just doing it for myself.
I was also doing it representing
all the females who have to work
in the sex industry
to be able to raise their kids,
to be able to make money,
to be able to have food on the table.
And at the end of the day,
what she did was
kind of just throwing all of those people down
and I just felt like
it was the perfect response
to, to,
rub it in her face and celebrate in front of her,
which I know is going to get her very upset.
That post there on your Instagram
when you said,
use the $2 to buy a plan B,
I think you might need it.
What did you mean by that?
When you put
in your Instagram,
that you're going to need a
B, I think you, or take a plan B
with those $2,000,
you're going to need to,
what signific about that?
Signific that Norma me tirro preservatives
because he says that I goho,
without preservatives.
So I said that I'm going to
to guarder
to use it to your
play, to coger me la.
No, I cance
to put me the preservative
and I got it,
I co-y.
And with the two dollars
that's a cupre a new day
after, because I threw
the leach out of the into.
So sorry.
So much the onums
that she gave me,
I actually took them
and put them in my bag
to make sure
because she said,
I wanted me to use them.
right? So I told her that I was going to use them
to fuck her in the fight. Instead,
I didn't even get a chance to use them so I finished
inside of her. So that's why I told her she should
take a plan B because she might be pregnant.
Oh my dear. Golly.
Eileen, this is a lot.
This is...
For what she's... The marketer.
The marketing, they have to understand
that me not me wants to pay with me.
And you, especially in the marketing game,
don't try to do it too much because you're going to lose
every time.
No,
no peleader
me
saw the
enfoque
the end up
a player
to try and
trybe to
confronts
with me
in the
marketing.
And if
there's
something
that's
never
before the
play,
I'm
and I
respond to
after the
victory.
And at the
end,
no girl
has ever
really tried
to go head
to head with me
when it
comes to
selling a
fight marketing.
And I mean
this was the
first time.
You get it
the ultimate?
That's,
that
after the
question,
I
demonstrate
with
but if
there is
something
that I
don't like
about what the fighter says,
I make sure that I win
and then I make sure
to rub it in their face after.
Are you guys cool now?
In your opinion,
is it all squashed?
Is the beef over or has it lingered?
And now
you're all right?
Or, how do you
still?
Or how, how
I'm coming on the course?
Look,
a me,
what I do know,
now me chupa three pito.
It's never
what I did,
norma.
Obviously,
not we're not
we're not
we're not
We like.
And on
she
me
amazes.
I have
on Instagram
where
he's
a
to get
when I
see a
no,
we don't
like each
other.
We're not
friends.
We're never
going to
be friends.
We don't
like each
other.
And funny
enough,
after the
fight, she
actually
wrote to
me personally
in my
Instagram
and she
actually told me
that after
the fight
she's going
to find me
and beat
the shit
out of me.
Whoa.
really?
She's looking for
it right now.
Here's the
messages.
What does it mean? What does it mean?
Like I already hit you once and I'm going to hit you again when I see you.
You already know that you didn't win, wink.
Wow.
And before the play, also he said,
I put a posteo and she said,
Fuck you.
Yeah, and then she put, and before the fight, she put a story.
This was my fight week.
And Norma put in Portuguese, fuck you.
This was my fight week.
Every time.
Yeah, that's your fight with every time.
NPI, every time.
My ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, enjoy my fight with.
Is she angry?
Angry.
Angry, every time, angry, punch.
You would see her.
Fuck you.
Fuck you.
You see her and she says this to you.
When you would see her at the PI?
When she was, you know, she did this,
you know, I said things.
Me care you entire,
and when I was only in the bathroom,
I was trying to make me to pay,
but never me pego.
No, so every single time that she sees me,
in the PI, she tries to look at me all hard
like she's going to hit me. And even when we're
inside the locker
room and we run into each other, when I'm by
myself, she'll try to do things to make
me think that she's about to attack me, but she never
does. But it's when she's when
she's with her friends that's like so mal.
Because when she goes with her, agache the head
because he'll control her for that for you not me me to.
But usually she's only like that
when she's around her, like the girls
that she has around her. Usually when
she's with her boyfriend, she will
like have her head down, try to be more humble, because I think that she doesn't want to get into it with him there.
Wow, wow, wow.
And you ever think that she is going to attack you, or do you always think that she's just trying to intimidate you?
And you'll think that in a moment of she, reallyment, you're going to attack or do you?
No, it's a cagona.
He's a 15 minutes to peg me, and a single goal, me made it in the eye.
No, no, no, no, not at all.
She shits herself.
I'm better.
She shits herself.
No, I'm better.
She had 15 minutes to beat the shit on me in the cage, and she landed,
Obviously, before the
the play, I'm obliged to put an security
because we're cutting
peso. I'm a playerer more
than all. So, I'm a peleaderer than
always, then I have to have
precaution always. But
now, after the
battle, I can't crosser in the
case and I see very well defend me.
During Fight Week, the only thing that happened
was that she would try to do things to me
when I was cutting weight. And at that point,
I'm very vulnerable, so I did need a UFC
security to make sure that I can just focus
on my weight cut while doing it.
But now that I'm not good, like,
if she wants to fight me in the street,
I'm very capable to defend myself.
But at the end of the day, I don't want that
because I fight for money.
You have won seven in a row
and the Bantamweight title
is finally going to be defended November 14th.
I have a feeling that it might be a retirement fight
for both Kayla and Amanda.
How do you feel like this is going to play out
and how do you factor into all of this?
Well,
now, for fin, there's the Pellia of Cinturn in your category
in 135,
between Amanda Nunes and Kayla Harrison.
I, Ariel Harwani,
I think that is a play that
can be a double retiro for
you. What does? What does it? How
is it going to terminate? And where does you
in this scenario?
Look, I think
that Kyla Harrinson no going to be
to play. Still
still, it's with a
cold of
and I don't
think that's 135
Libras. And Amanda
Nunes is very enojada,
is very alterated with me.
Me respond to the
the status of the videos.
and is
and is also
also because
I'm going to
I'm going to
I'm going to
go to happen.
I don't want to
happen.
And if
get to succeed
and I'm going
to do the
reemplasso
for that
a play with
with a
so honestly
my prediction
that the fight's
not going to
happen.
I don't think
that Kayla is going
to make it
to the fight.
I think that
she's not
100%
with her
neck yet
and I really
don't think
that she's going
to be able
to make 135.
So what do I
think,
I think that
Amanda
Nunes is very
angry with me for multiple reasons.
The biggest reason being that I stole her
coaches and now they're coaching me and not
her. And I think that
that fight's not going to happen. I think it won't
happen. I hope it doesn't happen and I think I'm going to
be fighting Amanda. But if it does
end up happening, I will be the
official backup of that fight.
Wow, wow, wow. Okay, so you think
do you think there's a chance they call you
to fight Amanda November 14th? How are you
feeling like this is going to actually play out?
So, so you don't think that they're
They're going to call to you to play with Amanda the 14 November?
We're not going to my manager.
That's a 100% possible,
physically and mentally, because I'm intact of the
play.
I've got a part of the bolpes,
some days without trainar.
No, I have fractures.
No, me have to operate.
So, I'm ready for that
play, and I want to be with Amanda Nunes.
Yeah, I mean, we're in conversations right now
to see if it's a possibility for me to be a backup.
But, like, as you can tell,
I'm physically and mentally 100% healthy.
I got a little bit of bruises, but no fractures, no surgeries.
I don't need to do anything.
I'm healthy.
I'm good to go.
So I will be ready to take the call on November 14th for Amanda Nunes if we get called for it.
Wow.
And do you think Amanda would accept it?
Do you think she would fight you?
And you'll think Amanda would fight you?
And you, look, Amanda Nunes me said for Instagram,
of that I'm a play a fast, as, as they're saying all, and I'm going to.
another that
that's a menace
that's
to go to pass
to go to
get a
sure
that's up
she's
nohada,
he's
he's caught
the coach
the coach
they're
with me
because they're
they're more
than she
and that I'm
more young
and that I'm
a good
I think 100%
that she wants
to fight me
I mean
first that she's
angry with me
she also says
that I'm an easy
fight
just like every other
girl says
I'm an easy
fight and
then I end up
beating her
she says the same
thing
she also has said
just like Norma
that she's going
to
go fine
me. She spends her, Amanda specifically
said that she's going to go to the gym
and find me to beat me up there.
So at the end of the day, she's
angry with me. I took her coaches.
She probably thinks I'm an easy fight. So,
yeah, 100% she would fight me. Why not?
No, there's no one.
I'm saying number one contendent
of the centuron, with seven victories
consecutives, having leganed to
have gone to four chicks of top 10,
two chicks of top of
five, with
quantity of derivos,
quantities of records,
no there's nobody
better than I
to confronta Amanda
Nunes in this moment.
She's know who
I'm going to
that play.
There's absolutely
nobody in the weight class
that deserves
that fight against Amanda
more than me.
At the end of the day,
I have the records,
I'm on a seven-fight win streak,
the longest win streak
ever in the weight class
outside of Amanda Nunes.
I already have four wins
against top 10 girls
with two of those wins
being against top three girls
and Jocelyn.
and Norma Dumont.
I already beat everybody.
I'm the person that's the number one contender
and deserves to fight for the title
and that's what's going to happen.
And if that play
no success, because she's a cagona.
Point.
And if that fight never ends up happening,
that's because Amanda Nune has shit herself.
Wow, wow, wow.
By the way, how do you feel?
I'm looking at the meta rankings.
Jocelyn is ranked above you
in the meta rankings.
How did you?
I'm seeing you, I'm seeing those methamings
now and it seems that Josephinin Edwards
is down the rankings.
No, but I don't.
Ganes
Edward
has been less
than two
years
and I
think more
victories
that she
is irrelevant
that I'm
sorry
I mean
I beat
Jocelyn Edwards
already
and like
that was
less than
two years ago
so
I know it's crazy
even in the
media rankings
with the
with the
only that
was with
normal
month
but the
rest
he peleo
with
the kids
malas
out of
the ranking
and
they gave
that
position
was 11
and
was
possible
I mean, those rankings are completely irrelevant.
I mean, if you look at the windstreet that she's on,
the only girl that she's beating that's decent is Norma,
who I also beat.
Everyone else that she's beating were cans,
and they put her into the position that she's in.
At the end of the day, I didn't even know that she was won,
and it's confusing that the rankings are like.
She's already beat her.
Perdi-o-con-ed with kids that I got in the ranking,
and they gained very well.
Like, legitimately, there are girls that I have beaten
that Jocelyn has also lost to.
one of those girls being Carol Rosa
I beat Carol Rosa
Jocelyn lost to Carol Rosa
I beat Jocelyn Edwards
I mean
I'm going to contendient
number one at the title
Aileen Pereles
no Jocelyn Edwards
Eileen Perez
for something
she no me peter
for the title
Eileen Perez
me
it's not Jocelyn Edwards
and if she wanted to be
the number one contender
she would ask me
for the rematch
but she never has
because she knows what would happen again
Come on bro
Yoseil no bender
she was playing with Normaum
Monde and sub used
5,000
followers.
I don't
paro to
receive
followers.
I'm
almost
a million
of
my
money.
I mean,
loco,
what I'm
saying.
Come on,
bro.
Like,
Jalthe Edwards,
like,
she doesn't sell
like at all
no one cares about her.
She fought Norma and beat her
and I think she
maybe got gained
5,000 followers.
I beat Norma
Dumas and look how much
I'm growing.
People don't keep
people have not
stopped talking about me
and I just keep going
up in followers.
It makes no sense.
You bring up good points.
I do want to ask you
before I let you go,
Eileen, what about Camila Reynoso?
Your teammate, she's fighting tonight,
Contender Series. How is she going to do?
Tell us, how is she going to do?
And, well, your companion, Reynoso,
will play in the Contender Series today.
Contan us, how she will be.
Look, Camila,
is a surprise.
No, is a favorite in this
play, but she will
show that it's an Argentina
that will win the contract.
I stayed here in Vegas
to support her, to help her.
It's a grand promise,
champion of the Samurai
Five House, where I was
championed a much time
also.
He's prepared.
He's going to
the Brazilian
also,
like I'm
this end of
a year of
she's
she's going to
come back
her one
more.
No, I
think that she's
going to win
of course.
In this
fight, she is
not the
favorite in
this fight,
but I think
that she's going
to surprise a
lot of people
she's going to
show that
again, like
the Argentinians
do, that
we're tough,
that we're going
to win
fights.
And she comes
from the same
event as me.
She was a
champion in Samurai
Fight House
just like I am.
So I'm
really happy
to be here to help her. I stayed in Vegas
specifically to support her in anything
that I can. So I'm really excited to see the fight
and I think just like Saturday, we're going to see
another Argentinian female win against
a Brazilian. I wish
you guys the best of luck this evening. Eileen,
thank you so much for coming on. Muchos
gracias. Congratulations.
Thank you so much. Next time
I promise that I will go to
go to the studio, Ariel.
And next time she promises
that she's going to come visit you in the studio, Ariel.
Vamos.
And not your name.
Fiona La Campiona
And don't forget her name
Fiona La Campiona
The Champion
Fiona de Champion
I love it
I love it
Thank you guys
Muchos Casces
And Martin
Great job with the translation
Well done
Well done
Thank you brother
All right
All the best to you guys
Thank you so much
Eileen Perez
Very entertaining
You have to say
And you'd have to think
If she could speak
A little English as well
I think she would even go
Further with the entertainment
Because she is
You know
She talks
She talks some good
smack. She's fun. I know Norma doesn't like her very much. Wanted to maybe try to get Norma on at the same time to go
back and forth. But I guess it's an old story at this point. They've moved on. She has won seven in a row.
She probably should be next for a title fight. And she made a pretty big proclamation there,
a pretty big prediction regarding, you know, what might happen with the November 14th fight
between Kayla Harrison and Amanda Nunes. I pray that fight does come to fruition. I pray we do get it
right here in New York City. But I do feel like she should be next.
135 needs some kind of movement
and it's been stalled because of the fact that they've been waiting
for this fight to transpire.
It was supposed to happen in January, you may recall,
the very first Paramount card.
And unfortunately, Kayla got hurt.
She had to have surgery.
Totally understand why they would want to wait.
It's so damn big.
But I also kind of feel like she has the best case.
She really does.
I mean, seven in a row, now beating Norman Dumont as close as it was,
wins over Carol Hosa, she said,
Jocelyn Edwards, Macy Chesson.
There aren't a lot of massive names right now at 135,
but a winning streak is a winning streak,
and seven in a row is seven in a row.
So let us see how it all plays out,
and let's see if the UFC can kickstart this 135-pound division,
which at one point was the most stacked in women's MMA,
starting with Ronda,
and then obviously Misha Tade and Katzengano and Holly Home and Amanda Nunes.
I mean, it really was, it was the gold standard.
It was the glamour division of women's MMA.
And not really the case right now.
I would probably say, what's the most interesting division?
I mean, you can make a case for 125, which is a crazy thing.
That is a crazy thing because at one point,
that was sort of where 135 is right now.
Anyway, coming up in a matter of seconds,
We're going to be joined by one of the most entertaining and exciting boxers in the sport right now.
He returns to action this Saturday, October 3rd, live on DeZone in Birmingham, in the West Midlands of the United Kingdom.
At the Utilita Arena, it's a massive IBF light heavyweight final eliminator.
It's Connor Wallace against the surgeon, Ben Whitaker, and Big Ben is kind enough to join us right here and now to talk about it all.
Let us say hello to him.
Hello, Ben. Good to see you again. How are you?
All good, man. All good. How about yourself?
All's good. Another big fight week for you.
Dare I say the biggest of your career. And I know they continue to get bigger and bigger.
But considering Connor, considering the location, considering the stakes,
fair to say this is the biggest one so far?
Yeah, of course, on paper it is. He's number two in the IBF on number three.
We're fighting for the number one spot. A lot of people want these step-ups.
I think it's a step-up that.
A lot of people are looking forward to.
And it's just down to me to show the levels, really.
But yeah, I'm looking forward to it.
Do you live in Birmingham, Ben?
But I'm Wolverhampton, so not too far.
So for those that don't know, like myself, how far is that from the arena?
Probably like 30 minute drive, 20 minute drive, something like that.
So this is essentially a home game for you, right?
Yeah, I've been to this arena many times to watch numerous concerts.
like 50 cent you name it for backstage you fabulous there so i'm very familiar with the venue
is this one that you have thought to yourself like i want to be there i want to be headlining there
this is sort of like uh you know an item that you're checking off your bucket list for your career
truthfully i didn't actually think i'd be fighting there because not a lot of fights was coming
back to birmingham uh it was more london or manchester but to be the the flag bearer to bring it back
it's nice to see it. I'm excited and it opens doors for the next generation as well.
I saw Eddie say they've added some seats like this is selling really well. That has to feel good, right, to get the local support?
Yeah, real good. Like I said, not just for me, just for every fighter on the card. It's bringing a lot of eyes back to the Midlands.
We have some great fighters here and the more we do well, the more the next generation get the reward. So it's a nice feeling.
The IBF champion is Dimitri Bivel.
Who is at stake here?
Is that who you want to fight?
Is that who you are gunning for if you win on Saturday?
Of course, you're going for the best.
You can't look past Saturday, of course, get the job done there.
But that's what the title is.
It's for the IBF.
I know that the division is kind of opening up now with Benavides moving on maybe.
Better be of getting a little bit older.
Probably got one, two fights left.
Same with Bivel.
But if the opportunity is there to fight him, it would be great to put him on the hit list.
Do you think he would fight you?
Do you think he would take that fight?
That's the thing.
I don't know.
When this you are the mandatory, but sometimes mandatory is mean nothing.
If it's a bigger opportunity against B.F. for the village, of course, that makes sense.
And whatever makes sense for his career, but for me, whatever makes sense for me,
and fighting someone like that in the time of his career,
but the perfect time to get him really, I think he's slowing down.
and I'm just speed enough, if anything.
Last time we spoke to you, of course,
was when you were in New York,
ahead of that big show at Barclay Center,
your big American debut,
you're unveiling, if you will,
on such a great card.
What was the experience like for you?
Did you enjoy it?
Do you think back with fond memories?
How was it like fighting here in the States?
Oh, it was amazing.
I can't want you to do it again.
The fans, the reception I got was crazy.
And it was kind of weird.
As a little kid,
you watch these American fight nights and to actually be on one and to perform the way I did,
you couldn't really any better, but I'm looking forward to get back out of there soon.
Did you feel like it was different than fighting at home, fighting in the UK?
Yeah, I think it's different culture.
They get my charisma a little bit more.
They get my character and they like the style.
So when I did start getting in the Florida showboat and you heard the cheers,
I was like, okay, here we go.
Next thing, you know, is on the floor, so it was a little bit.
But I'm looking forward to come out there for a bigger fight, hopefully,
hopefully all the belts on the line, and somewhere like Vague, so I'd like to do it there.
And what a run.
I mean, round two, Cameron, round one, Gavazi, round one, Suarez, Rivera, round two, back in June.
In total, if my math is correct, that's three plus one is four, plus two is six,
six rounds in your last four fights and not even full rounds there.
Are you feeling like you're getting enough work out there?
Do you need to go a little bit longer just to get the rounds in?
You don't get paid for overtime, man.
You know, the score.
But the main thing is I've got a good coach in Andy Lee.
He knows what we're doing in the gym.
We're getting the rounds in there.
And the intensity that I spa, the intensity that I train is pretty much like a fight.
Of course, it's nice to get the rounds under the lights maybe,
but I'm a fighter where if you can get it done quick, be back home and eating and chilling out.
I'd prefer that.
So I'd prefer it the way it's going.
Obviously, your amateur pedigree and even your age, very different than Moses of Talmas.
But I'm just wondering, from a pro standpoint, same amount of fights.
Were there any lessons learned from you and the team as to what happened to Moses,
perhaps some in retrospect, saying he got rushed a little too soon,
he shouldn't have been in there with the likes of Philip Hergovich?
I don't necessarily agree with that, but I'm wondering how you took away any sort of lessons from that,
if any, if there was any correlation to what you're experiencing in your career right now from that experience.
I think in all walks of life
you go through trials and tribulations
and that was his
maybe I had mine against Cameron
but I've learned from those little things
and each obstacle you go through
you learn from them
he was winning every single round
and he looked great
but these things happen
that's why we love to fight sport
but for me it just shows
that fighting's real
you know there's never really
an A side or B side
one punch can change the whole fight
but for me
I've been locked in
I've done all the rounds
had numerous aspiring partners
So fitness is not an issue and skills definitely not an issue.
So when I get in there, there's no excuses and I'll win.
Do you think he will bounce back?
Do you have any sort of take on how he's going to respond from this?
Yeah, that's what will be the interesting thing.
Mentally, it'll be tough.
Mentally, it'll probably be hard getting in the room again.
Maybe who knows.
But I've been around him, not too much, but enough to know for how young he is.
He's very mature.
and if he wants to be the best,
he's got to go through that tough period
and it'll be the making of him.
I think we all thought that was going to be a coronation
when he fought Philip Herkovich.
We'll have to wait a little bit.
And I was saying at the beginning of the show
that I feel like, in particular for Eddie Hearn and Matrum,
you're in a perfect spot right now.
Katie has just retired.
AJ's on his last legs, of course.
He's got the big one coming up in December.
But I feel like it's right there for you
to be the face of Matrum
and perhaps UK boxing.
Obviously, Connor Ben, has moved on
and we know what happened in his last
fight. Are you viewing it that way? Do you feel like you're on the precipice of being that guy
for not only matchroom, Eddie, but the entire country, and then of course, the entire sporting
division? Of course, I feel like I'm knocking at the door, and Saturday is kind of kicking
that door down, you know, I feel like everything's falling into place. I fight good, I can
talk good, I look good, I'm ticking all the boxes, so, and especially when I become a world
champion who can really stop that. So for me, I'm on the right path. I've got a decent team behind me,
so I can't complain. So three fights in now with Matt June. They did bring you over to the States.
This will be the fourth. Overall, fair to say you're happy with the arrangement with the partnership so
far? Yeah, they're doing everything they're supposed to do. They're bringing me the opportunities
and I'm just cleaning them out. That's a perfect joy if you ask me. They're lining them up.
I'm knocking them down and hopefully we can keep that street going.
And like I said, all the opportunities are brought me.
They've done good.
It's a final eliminator in my four fight with them.
So everything's moving well.
Is there one more with them after this?
Ariel.
Yes.
You know.
I'm not asking for your purse numbers.
I'm just asking how many more fights.
You know, I just curious, I want to get, you know, it's a fascinating time now in boxing.
Everyone's out there trying to sign everyone.
We're just trying to get a read on the situation.
you're one of the most desired fighters in the game.
It's very fascinating.
I heard Dana might be,
I watched the fight maybe, so.
Come on.
He's not pulling up to a matchroom fight.
That's what I heard,
I just had a little inkling that he might be there,
but I might be told otherwise.
What do you make of that Zufa boxing situation?
Now, it's getting quite heated between Dana and Eddie.
Yeah, I think it's good for boxing, you know.
It's good for the media.
People like it.
And at the end of the day, it's giving other fighters opportunities.
There's nothing wrong with giving fighters opportunities.
And it's good for the sport.
I like it's exciting.
I think what Danny does is good.
What Eddie does is good, obviously.
And seeing them go back and forth is good to see.
Have you talked to them?
I've been invited to many shows, but I think if I go there, I'll get in trouble.
So they're coming to me by looks at it.
Wow.
So they will be in attendance.
You've heard that.
You're not kidding around.
There's numerous of messages
and I mean
I'm managing
that numerous
messages
So my god
So hopefully he's got
Hopefully they're not
Put him in the nosebleeds
Because that would be very rude
Okay
You want him to be ringside
Yeah we'll get him a nice little
Realty seat
It's only right
Okay so they're flirting with you
They're interested with you
In you
What can I say
When you look this good
They all flirt with you man
Yeah yeah
Okay so what is it
Is this the last one on the deal then
If they're that flirtatious
perhaps your free agent after this one.
Hey, man.
They're all hungry, man.
They're all hungry.
It's like a pack of wolves out there, man.
I'm just trying to keep them out bay with a stick.
They're sliding in your DMs?
They're diving, bombing in there, man.
Head first?
This is crazy.
First, head first, ass first, all of it.
Oh, my days.
Oh, my days.
And so it's Saturday is the task ahead.
win that, then we'll sit down and see what's the next. But yeah, everything's going good.
And so is there any sort of sense of loyalty towards Eddie, you're like, hey, I'm a
matrum guy or are you open for business? Yeah, I really like matron. What they've done for me is great.
Like I said, they're moving me good. They're giving me a lot of promotion and it's a good team.
So for me, I'm right now.
Okay. Oh, right now. Okay, that's an interesting last couple of words there in the sentence.
were to score, if you were to score Dana versus Eddie as a boxing round, who's winning right now?
Oh, very, very good. No, I've still, it's a good 10-9, 10-8 to Eddie, just for the simple fact,
he's been in the game so long. He knows how to present himself when he talks well. And he's a
fellow Englishman, so we've got to give him the first round. Yeah, he's also your promoter, too,
right? Exactly. But right now. Right now? Oh, my.
What is happy? Are you happy with Eddie? Is there something going on here?
No, I'm going to be missing. Eddie's good, man. Eddie's good. Frank's good. Even Mattie Lawless. I like Mattie Lawless. I keep shouting him out this week.
He's the man. They've done a lot for me. Yeah, they're a lot for me. They're really good. And everything's going well. Like I said, it's my third fight with them. Is it third or four? Four fight with them. And it's a volatile eliminator. So for me, they're doing everything they can.
They've kept me active.
Even when some show, like the Liverpool fight, the main card fell out, Callum Smith.
They still kept me on the show so I can stay active.
So they're doing everything.
And I'm just delivering for my part too.
Who are you backing, AJ or Fury?
Well, you know, my coach handle is Team Fury.
But I was 2.5, 8.
So I'm kind of 50-50.
Just met the best amount win.
And I was with sugar as well.
So it's a tough one for me.
But just met the best.
fan win. Do you think the fight happens?
That's the thing. It's a bit of a pantomum right now. We don't know if it's going on.
If it is, I heard David Benavides, he's getting in there. I heard the new way he's getting in there.
They're all getting in there, apparently. But hopefully it happens just for the UK fight.
The world fight fans, I think it's a fight that's meant to happen. And it'll be a great spectacle.
Can I ask not who you're backing, but deep down, who do you think actually wins with your head,
your heart. Yeah, it's actually, yeah, it is a tough fight because Fury is a very good boxer. I feel
like you're jabbing, make him miss, tie him up, make it a messy fight at times, but make it a clean
fight. But then AJ's always got that one hit, a quitter where he can change the whole fight. So
it is very 50-50, and I just think whoever has the right mindset and doesn't let the crowd or their
situation get to them, it wins the fight. Back to you. How big of a deal?
deal is unified at light heavyweight en route to undisputed. Is this something that you think about
a lot? And I know I'm skipping some steps here. You have to win on Saturday and then you have
to get the IBF fight. But, you know, a lot of fighters say that's what I want. I want that first
unification bout. I want undisputed. Do you think about this? And do you think perhaps by the end of
27, this could be a reality? Yeah, it could be a reality that, like I said, the way the
landscape's going now, it looks like it's starting to open up a little bit. And me doing this
IBF eliminate, I'm kind of got my foot in the door already.
You always picture yourself with all the belts or I did anyway.
So it would be nice to tick that off.
And I think it's bound to happen.
Get this one out the way, of course, win the belt.
It's only up from there.
You want the best fighters.
And if you can put all the belts on the line, it's a juicy thing to do.
One day, you versus Benavides at Light Heavyweight would be fun.
But I'm wondering if you think he ever comes back to Light Heavyweight.
Do you think his days of fighting at Light Heavyweight are done?
Yeah, maybe so.
I saw him jump in the ring against upper tire.
He looked big, man.
He looked very big.
Like I said, there was talks of him.
It's probably only a job, but there's talks of him fighting,
jumping in for Fury or something like that.
No, I know.
Jumping in for...
Nonsense.
No what I mean?
So it's nonsense, but he probably could beat somebody's heavyweights.
So we'll see.
But I think if I did ever move up to Cruise away and he's there,
that's the fight to make.
That would be a good fight.
What do you make of what happened to Connor Ben a couple weeks ago?
At the end of the day, he's hit the jackpot.
I made his money, his family's reaping the rewards from it,
but it just shows his levels in the game, you know.
Brian Gar-Siri, he did the right roots as a kid.
He went through the whole amateur system.
He fought all the best, and the only kids he's lost to,
Roley and Giovanni Davis, those world champions.
So he's fought them, he's been around them, and he showed his level.
Were you surprised it ended so quickly?
No, really.
I just think Ryan Garcia is very explosive,
and he shows he's not only a left-hoccur.
Now he can hit with his right,
but like I said, he's had a lot of experience.
He's fought very good fire.
Okay.
By the way, I have to say, I'm a little embarrassed.
I saw a tweet from Matchroom earlier today,
and it went right over my head, Ben.
I was – maybe I was exposed as an old guy
because I sent this to the team and I said,
who's Des and Troy?
It says Des and Troy here.
Who's Des and Troy?
Who are those guys?
And then they explained to me that those are the names.
These bad boys right here, man.
Golly.
How did I miss that?
Is that an anime thing?
Is that what it is?
Is it for the kids, Des and Troy?
So what it is, is my barber actually.
He was having a little laughing.
He goes, hey, tonight you're going to bring out Des and Troy.
I said, who are they?
He goes, those on your hands.
And then from there, I said it in the interview after the fight.
It's stuck with me, man.
But yeah, that's what it is.
Des and Troy, they're ready to go Saturday.
I love that.
I love that.
So what do you think?
How many rounds on Saturday?
Oh, I'm expecting a few.
He's a on paper.
He's a tough guy.
He's ranked above me.
But I just believe I'm better in every department.
So when we start touching him, breaking him down, we'll see how long it can last.
And what about the walkout?
What do we have planned?
Any hints there?
You know what I mean?
You know, I like to bring the glitz and the glamso.
It's going to be a good ringwalk.
It's going to be a good ringwalk.
Something to get the juices flowing.
It's provocative, shall we say.
Okay.
I like that.
By the way, before I let you go, I saw this incredible edit.
I think you posted it as well.
Who makes these edits of you?
This particular one here was amazing.
We'll play.
This one here is phenomenal.
Who made this one?
Where has it got?
What has it got?
Oh, that one there.
Oh, my cameraman did that for me.
It's kind of juicy.
It's phenomenal.
Shout out to your cameraman.
What's his name?
He's called Cam.
Shout out to Cam the cameraman.
Great stuff.
I always make a point, no matter what.
And I love the fact that in the UK, the fights happen in the afternoon here in the United States.
When Ben Whitaker is fighting, I am on my couch watching.
And one of these days, I have to be there in person as well.
that will come in due time.
But for now, we'll be watching on Saturday.
Can't wait for this opportunity for you, Ben.
Always appreciate the time.
Good luck to you on Saturday, and thanks for stopping by.
Always great to chat with you.
Thank you very much, man.
God bless.
And 100% will make it happen soon.
If not, we'll have to catch a nighting game, man,
watch them get beat by tough.
I liked everything up until the last one.
How could a friend of Morgan Gibbs White say that?
That's unbelievable.
I'm going to tell him you said that.
I saw a joke
Thank you for your time once again
I'll link up again soon
Much love Ben
Much love
There he is
The Surgeon
Ben Whitaker
Des and Troy
He's just a rascal
Dizzy Rascal
He's just a rascal
Dizzy Rascal
You guys know about Dizzy Rascal
Yeah man
I was this close to asking him
About Snapchat
I just want
I was gonna ask him
If he's on the snap
Let's see if he's on the snap
I don't know
Snap's not a new thing
No, no, it's new, it's new
Trust me, no, no, no
New for who?
For the 40-year-olds.
Oh, here I am.
How many 40-year-olds are on that?
I'm going to do a snap.
Hey, everyone.
Oh, it's a video.
Hey, everyone, I'm on the snap.
I'm on the snap.
Oh, it's a video.
It's tough.
I'm on the snap.
You'll follow me on the snap real quick.
You're on the snap, telling them to follow you on the snap.
You're not looking for followers, bro.
You're friends and you snap them.
Are your kids going to
call you in the middle of the show,
be like,
everyone can see this again.
Oh,
yeah, yeah, wait,
oh, I got 35 friend requests.
Except them all, bro.
Any of you guys friend me?
Public profile.
It's not on snap.
I feel like there's a lot going on,
you know,
that's the problem.
Oh, wait a second.
Someone put some stories up here.
Is this Spencer up here?
Oh, I got a good one with Shrek.
Did you guys see that?
I put that with Shrek.
No?
Oh, God.
The story is just you fucking around
with filters?
Yeah, bro.
Well, what?
That's not lit.
I love Ben Whitaker.
He's great.
Has Ben flirting?
On Crown?
On Snapchat?
We are on Crime Combat.
No, that's what I'm saying.
That's just the name of Uncrown Combat.
Is Ben flirting with Dana White or what?
What's happening there?
I have a feeling Zufa's flirting with a lot of people.
Yeah.
Oh my God.
That's a guy you want on your roster.
Absolutely.
If you've got to deal with Sky Sports, that is the guy right there.
Holy smokes.
Any thoughts on Eileen Perez, guys?
She's one of the more entertainment.
Chaining characters. We need more people like her. I know. She should get the title shot after
Kayla versus Amanda. Seven straight has the win over Jocelyn. There's literally no one else after that.
Yep. Agreed. I feel like there's a world where she fights for the vacant title. Yeah. Absolutely.
And then who's her opponent? Edwards Perez too. Yeah. Hell yeah. Give me a norm. You know what? Can I be
honest? Run back norm. I know a lot of people hated. I actually thought the fight was, obviously it wasn't a
fight of the year, but I thought there was enough
like tension and
gamesmanship where I wasn't bored by it.
The fight itself was fine. It wasn't great. It wasn't bad.
The drama surrounding it and the height that they were able to generate
made a big difference. It was one of the more
must-see fights of the car. If that fight was in Brazil or something like that,
yeah, it would have been. Who did you guys scored for?
I had Norma, but I don't feel like it was like any robbery or anything like that.
Yeah, I also scored for Norma.
What do you think?
of Andy Foster and the oblique kicks. A lot of people upset about this.
To a point I think you were trying to make, that's the last of my concerns when it comes to
this, right? Like, there are many other things we could be thinking about when it comes to
long-term health of the fighters and not wanting things to, like, I understand the intention
behind it. Oblate kicks are the last thing. I just wonder if there's statistics that say,
like, the oblique kick, I know it can mess you up and Rampage talked about that. Rampage probably
the loudest dissenter from when he fought.
Yeah, the Jones fight.
He felt like it...
But there's calf kicks, there's all kinds of leg kicks.
You know, there's a bunch of stuff that happened.
Can I lob something out there?
Sure.
You know what does a lot of long-term damage?
Getting punched and kicked in the head.
That actually does a lot of long-term damage.
Well, that's what I'm saying.
And if you're okay with...
Ultimately, you're okay with slap fighting.
And I know he's like they haven't had an event there, but you did give them the one...
I think that was the right question.
Then how could you be against this?
And then you could say, well, that's MMA.
But it's like...
But then you just...
take it to MMA. Let's ban headkicks. Let's ban
punches. Let's ban everything. If we're
if we are taking this from
the sport where you're supposed to
damage your opponent to not, then that's
a different conversation. But that's what this
sport is. I think he just needs more
data supporting the argument that it
leads to injuries that
alter careers. Because obviously
from the optics of it,
it does look like it would cause injuries
and just the whole thing of like, essentially
like stomping at the angle on
someone knee feels like you could mess them up. But
you asked them like how often is it actually injuring these guys where it's affecting their careers
and i don't know if they have that just yet like that type of data i poke thing is interesting
like the way he broke it down those three terms those malicious i forget the three terms now
but i like that better than intentional unintentional which is impossible to to actually figure out
i don't want to be overly dramatic but we just saw a guy in haoney bar
Barcelos look like he was on death's door.
Sure.
And he's probably going to fight again.
Why are we so concerned about oblique kicks?
Like if we're being honest with ourselves about what this sport is and the conversations that need to be happening around the sport, it's not oblique kicks, man.
It's really not.
I don't think it's that big of a deal.
I'm surprised.
I poke this and that, like, scoring, judging.
But that's not to say, by the way, I don't think that's the only thing he's working on.
I was just going to say, is there not a world where he just gets this past and moves.
on with his life.
Absolutely.
Probably.
This feels like a, it feels like a departure that we don't necessarily need to take.
Yeah.
I mean, I guess to his point, what else should he be focusing on?
I think he's focusing on a few things.
He mentioned the spiking.
He mentioned the, um, the, the, the, the, the, the I poke.
So let us see.
Let us see, guys.
Uh, they have officially announced going back to this story that we'll be talking about
from now until post December 11th.
They have officially announced that the Tyson Fury Anthony Joshua press conference is happening tomorrow at 1 p.m.
Eastern, 6 p.m. BST, 10 a.m. PST, and there you have them.
Fury coming out of a snazy gray minivan. Is that a minivan? What is that?
Yes, that's a minivan.
And AJ coming out of a black minivan.
Oh, right. I like the black over the gray, if I'm being honest.
we'll let them know.
I'm sure they both got to choose.
They're both in London, as you can see, or at least in the UK, it says touchdown.
So this is going to be happening at the same time as our program.
We've got to figure this out.
This is going to be must-see TV.
I cannot wait.
I cannot wait.
Now, I've asked specifically whether or not Dana White will be in attendance.
I haven't gotten an official word.
I would, my hunch is that he's not going to be there.
and to be honest, not needed, right?
Not needed.
No, not needed.
Wait, what?
He's not needed.
In what capacity?
His presence is not needed.
In fact, I think that his presence takes away from the magnitude of the fight for this
particular one.
I think it would enhance it maybe.
Yeah, I mean, it would be fireworks, but he's not needed.
Do the press conference tomorrow, do the fighters up there, and let's get this thing rolling.
What are we considering needed?
Like, for ceremony to proceed?
No.
I need them both up there by themselves.
Question is need.
He is not needed.
Sure, but like, nobody's...
Do you want him there?
Yes.
Then you want him there.
Yes.
You don't need him there, okay?
Exactly.
There's a difference.
Are we going to get Max up there, waxing poetic about how this fight doesn't have it?
See, Max is not needed.
Dana White is needed.
Max is not needed.
I actually personally need Max.
We're good.
Is Eddie in attendance?
Is he sitting there?
It must be.
No, no, but meaning like, is he in the crowd?
Is he in the back?
Is he visible?
Yeah.
And that's why I want Dana White.
white to also be in the crowd, be in attendance, and be visible.
Visible, but no microphone in front of them.
You know that's not happening.
Yeah, but do I want it?
It's in Vegas for a contender series tonight.
You want him to get on a jet?
It'll be exhausted.
You ain't missing that.
Come on, man, it'll be exhausted.
Yes.
I don't know anything about these fighters.
I just look at the paper.
It's the best day of the week.
Tuesdays is the best day of the week.
They blindfold me in the back, spend me around 10 times, shove me out there.
I've never seen any of these fucking people in my life.
Not for nothing.
The Dana White press conference after tonight's fights is going to be interesting.
Ooh, that's a good point.
This is the first one since.
Yep, that's a good point.
If he does it.
By the way, this according to our own Darshan,
Darshan to say everything boxing on Twitter does a phenomenal job.
Wednesday's Tyson Fury Anthony Joshua launch press conference at British Airways Ark in London
will be open to the public.
This isn't common in boxing.
A lot of these press conferences aren't open to the public.
That is going to make it even better.
What is British Airways Arc?
What is that?
I've not heard of that before.
I did try to get us some tickets,
but geolocation was blocked.
What do you mean?
There's a website to go and get tickets
so that you can go to the press conference.
Oh, okay, British Airways.
Oh, yeah, you click on it.
Fury A.J. launch press conference, September 30th.
What is the, it's like a concert venue?
Frankie, are you familiar with the British Airways Arc venue?
No, I am not.
members of the British Airways
Club have exclusive access
to the British Airways arc
with tickets reserved for every show.
That means it's even easier to discover.
Okay, how do I get?
It's like it's a music venue?
3,800 people, okay.
1632 for a fully seated theater style.
This is going to be great.
Ah, this is going to be great.
I cannot wait.
You guys like British Airways.
Love it.
Solid.
Tea and Crumpets on the way home?
More of an American Airlines.
No, American Airlines top three worse.
Don't they own British Airways?
Top three worse.
Virgin?
Virgin is great.
Virgin is great.
The best ones are like Quantus,
Eddie Had, Emirates.
Eddie Hadd and Emirates are the...
The Crem de la Crem.
Singapore.
Singapore, of course.
Shower, right?
Don't they do a thing with the shower?
Yeah, something about showers.
Yeah.
There's something about showers in Singapore Airlines.
I guess this is a good transition.
to our first super chat, Frankie, we can hit the music.
Man City guilty as charged.
Feels so glorious what an absolute shambles of a club.
Is it official?
Like, I know there was a thing saying there,
but like, do we know what the punishment is?
I'm having a field day with this one with my son, who's...
Josh Hart says burn the club to the ground.
No, I know.
I mean, he's a big Chelsea guy, but like, what is the punishment?
Because we've been...
Oh, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait,
according to SkySport.
Club found guilty of all charges related to serious breaches of Premier League financial rules.
Now, can I ask, did Pep know this was coming?
Is that why he got out of town?
Feels like a Jim Harbaugh, Michigan situation, right?
Pep knew this was coming.
Man City found to have arranged sham contracts with a number of commercial partners as part of a scheme to inflate revenues and reduce costs by more than 900 million pounds.
Club to appeal against verdict.
Okay, okay.
Independent Commission found that between 2009 and 2010 and 0910 and 2017-18, it took them eight years to come up with this.
Sky Sports News has obtained a video that Manchester City Chief Executive Ferran Soriano has sent to staff of players in which he calls the process a Premier League conspiracy theory, quote unquote.
The club have confirmed they will appeal against the ruling and have until Friday, October 2nd, to do so.
That's in three days.
What did the independent commission find?
Man City arranged sham contracts with a number of its commercial partners as part of a disguised funding scheme to artificially inflate the club's revenues by 830 million.
The club filed accounts that concealed the true state of its finances.
Manchester City was significantly in breach.
Okay, okay, okay, what is at stake here?
What's the punishment?
What happens that?
It's Man City have until Friday.
Okay.
Premier League says sanctions will be addressed in a further hearing with an independent commission.
Premier League says it intends to conclude the remainder of the process as quickly as possible,
very good.
Possible sanctions include point deductions, fines, transfer bans, and expulsion from the Premier League.
No chance that happens, right?
Enjoy Barcelona, Erling Holland, huh?
Someone get Dakota Ditchev on the phone.
Truth be told, I don't hate Man City.
I know a lot of people are happy about this, but
They're not going to go anywhere because they're one of the biggest clubs in the world,
and it would take away from the overall primarily.
But you don't think they get some massive, there were 115 charges.
There's got to be some...
What are they going to do, retroactively taking a title away?
Well, yeah, we see that in college basketball.
And we still say, wow, that team won a national title.
But what if they say next year you're going to start negative 20 points?
And now you've got to dig yourself out of a hole.
That's what happened.
You know, Forest lost points.
I think Southampton lost.
points. So that could be a big one. And now of a sudden, you're playing Luton Town in League
one, huh? I mean, Tottenham might also be playing Luton Town in the championship.
I'm just saying. I think they went down another Luton Town. I think they went down too.
Anyway, this is how you know you know Ball. You know the state of Luton Town. In any event,
good luck to Man City. We continue. Ariel, any chance for a plug for my new website,
Lamatchamma, I wrote an article on Caposos.
I also want to add a BITB section for top five.
You know, Lamantia, I do wish you the best.
You are a bit of a troll online.
That's a troll right there.
Yeah, so is this not a real thing?
Like, if you're actually giving it a go, I mean, they threw it in there.
God bless.
Let's clean up here.
All right?
Let's, let's, you know.
It's kidding.
Bro's a casual, LOL.
Who's you referring to?
Frank in his takes?
about the music scene?
I'll take it.
I think he's talking
about Andy Foster.
Time stamp would help.
You can't call Andy Foster
at casual?
I think a lot of people
weren't liking
some of the things
that he was saying.
It doesn't make him a casual.
I agree.
I'm just, you know.
Another one here,
you'd think she had a fight
of the year with how she's speaking.
I think he's referring
to Eileen Perez there, right?
Yes.
I don't really think that she was saying
it was like the greatest fight
of all time,
but what is she going to say?
She's one seven a row who was emotionally charged.
She twirked in her face.
Plan B.
Well, I mean, it's all there.
Another one here.
Ian Gary is more fun without oblique kicks.
T or F.
True or false?
I don't think the Ian Gary fun factor hinges on the oblique kicks.
It would limit his arsenal.
He uses them quite a bit.
I just don't know how much I would notice the game change.
On Ian, you might notice.
He throws those out a lot.
The one who used them the most by far is John.
Well, the most effectively.
Who's second most?
I can't even think of a second.
Ian is like one of the more prominent guys who uses them.
But no, it's not, that doesn't change Ian Gary's game to the point that it's either fun or not fun.
You either like how he fights or he does.
Gary's pretty damn good.
He's great.
With or without, right?
Yes.
I believe that was it as far as super chats are concerned.
I did see something else that came.
through the wire here.
Another big match has been officially announced.
You may recall Canelo Alvarez was in this very studio.
When was it?
July.
And he told us that his fight against Christian and Billy just kind of casually mentioned it
was being moved from mid-September to October 31st, Halloween.
Well, since then, there was no official announcement.
And they have now officially announced that it is in fact happening Mr.
Saul Canelo-Alvarez against Christi.
Christian Ambili, one of the best.
I love Christian Mbili.
For the WBC's super middleweight title.
All right, that's interesting.
168.
October 31st in Riyadh.
And I did see, by the way,
poster is not bad.
Been a while since we've seen one of those posters.
I like the Mexico versus the world.
Mexico.
Wouldn't mind a little Halloween theme in there, you know?
Yeah.
A little Day of the Dead.
Do you think Halloween is big in Riyadh?
Probably no.
Is it big in Mexico?
I know Day of the Dead, but that's a different date.
What is it?
Dios de los Muerces.
Ah, damn.
You were so close, man.
That was so close.
You've been on the duolese.
So damn close.
I did see it.
I wish.
What's that? What's that?
Nothing.
They were saying we were on the duly play.
You know, speaking of Halloween, I actually, let's know a podcast.
Origins of Halloween?
Good one?
A lot of talk about Ireland.
Ireland created it.
They gave all credit to Ireland.
I thought that was just a joke on the show.
Oh, wow.
I had no idea they do it there.
Oh, yeah.
Started it.
Turkey tweeted, main fight starts at 3 a.m.
Assuming the main event.
Does he mean 3 a.m.
read time or 3 a.m.
3 a.m. reat time.
You think so?
For sure.
Has to be.
What time?
I just want to know if it's going to cut into my trigger-treating, you know?
Is it in Saudi Arabia?
So it's 1040, 3.7 hours, 3 a.m. minus the 3.4.8.
8 p.m. ring walk on. Actually, it's kind of bad. That's kind of awful on Halloween, right?
Yeah, you're still trick-or-treating. Yeah. We're wrapping it up with the kitties, you know?
Rick, your kids like Halloween? Love it. It's like, I've reached a point with the oldest one where he's just in it for the candy.
The best still trick-or-treating? He did it with the boys? He ain't just hanging.
hanging on riding bikes and doing shit?
Last year.
What is he? 13 last year?
Yeah, now 14.
Hang with the boys.
It's a little late.
Ninth grade?
Should I put a stop to it?
No, it's not put a stop to it.
Let him do whatever he wants to do.
I'm just surprised he hasn't been like,
I ain't doing this shit.
No, they were into it, man.
I think him young.
I think him young.
The best, though, like there's...
I was egg in houses at 12.
So cool, bro.
So cool.
Flaming bags of poop.
Thanks, man.
It's poop again.
There's nothing better than that age.
where they're old enough to understand what it is and so into the costume, what would you say that age is like?
Right now, like five, seven, eight.
There's nothing better where you talk about it for a month and you're planning it and they come home from school and they're so excited to put it on.
And then it's freezing, like in Montreal was freezing.
So you had to wear costumes to school.
Do they have uniforms or something?
In my school?
Yeah.
No.
No costumes.
Not allowed.
Damn.
You?
Yeah, yeah.
They can wear them.
but did you ever have the experience of your parents telling you it's too cold so you have to wear the jacket
horse in the costume i said fuck that you did it crazy you rocked it no no jacket yeah i'm batman i can't
have a fucking jacket on what are you crazy what are you in your mind what are you this year me
maybe batman and i'll be bane oh i gotta use i gotta use the bold to the best of my ability
maybe dana white and edie herne i feel like your your halloweons are the best we've talked about this what do
got. And you're on a Saturday night
this year,
D.C. Georgia, Florida as well.
Could be a top ten matchup. Nighttime?
3.30 kick, as always.
Oh, that's perfect. Why, as always?
It's just tradition.
Though the breaking tradition, Mercedes-Benz Stadium
instead of Jacksonville this year.
Wait a second, wait a second. Every Georgia
game is at 3.30 p.m.?
Every Georgia Florida game.
Always.
Always. For 100 years?
I don't know if it's 100, but
ever since it was like the world's largest outdoor
cocktail party.
Oh yeah, oh yeah, oh yeah.
Wait, do you, do you dress up
with the kids?
Oh, you got to, bro.
Come on, I'm not above it, but, you know,
I've been known to put on the El Narez Lucha mask.
That's a hack.
I like that.
Yeah, I'll wear a jersey.
I'll wear a jersey.
Well, what do I have to wear?
Like, the full, I'm not doing the full
Incredibles outfit like some people.
Oh, come on, dude.
No, we're not doing that.
We're not doing that.
Fantastic Four this year.
It's not about me.
It's not about it.
My wife has a bunch of costumes.
Like she has like various costumes ready.
So last year I was the box of crayons and the kids were the crayons.
That's fantastic.
So you're wearing the whole thing.
It's not handmade.
This was just a slip on thing.
But is it handmade?
No, no, no.
Craila.
Like, you buy it.
Yeah.
Party City.
Who's handmade?
Yeah, exactly.
We've got the, Spirit Halloween.
I know.
I have some, you know, parent friends.
They do the whole shebang.
I'm not like painting.
I'm not doing any of that.
They're doing all that.
My mom made this great wizard costume for me when I was young.
But like Harry Potter.
Stitched and.
stuff.
Nah, just like a blue hat, all that stitched.
I showed up.
It was probably the worst costume out of everyone.
They all just store bought it.
And she spent all that time.
I was like, God, Mom, I love you.
Yeah.
Wouldn't up to snuff.
No mass.
Did she make the Gandalf from last year or what?
Yeah, yeah, handcrafted pipe.
She said, make sure you only smoke tobacco out of that, huh?
I actually just bought my first Halloween candy a couple days ago.
And?
It was pretty damn good.
It was Reese's
It was like
You ate it or you bought it for the Halloween
Yeah the pumpkin
You know what I just ordered
Yes tell me five pound bag of
The caramel apple lollipops
The Tutsi roll caramel apple lollipops
People do like those
Love Tootsie Roll caramel apple
Lollipop
So it's made by Tutsi roll
Yes
But it's just it's just like the green
Green apple lollipop
With like caramel on it
I don't know if I've ever had that
Oh they're iconic
This is a fixture?
Oh yeah
Fixure bro
And you ordered this where?
Just off of Amazon or something?
Oh, wow, okay.
Wow, wow, wow, wow, wow.
Yeah, I mean, I'm...
You full-sized candy bar house, huh?
No, he's got the Reese's pumpkins.
We talked about this already.
No, no, no, I bought that for myself.
Wait, what does that mean?
You bought that for yourself.
I was at CBS with my son.
I saw this.
I said, let's buy it and eat it.
Wait, so time out.
You're telling us a story about you buying and eating candy.
That's the story.
But it's...
I got lunch.
too. It's Halloween themed. It's the kickoff
of the season, you know? I'm just saying
I thought you were talking about like... Huluine is up on Hulu.
You bought the candy to put away
so that you could give it to kids. You're just eating
candy. Hey, here we go. Never have one of these?
I gotta say, I don't think so. Oh, they're tremendous.
Oh, they're tremendous. They're tremendous.
Really? Yeah.
Oh, it's a state. Who makes that? Who makes that?
Tutsi. Where's the Tutsi logo? I don't see any... Right there on the top.
Right there. Tutsi. On the green, on the green top. It's backwards.
Lock in the side. Oh.
Looks bad for the teeth.
It's not great for the teeth, but my mouth.
Halloween for the teeth.
Halloween for the teeth.
All right.
Yeah, it's all the time.
It's an exciting time.
I mean, look, I'm a summer guy.
We've established this.
Love the summer.
But, you know, trying to lean in.
Look, man, playoff baseball.
Is that why you're wearing the Braves?
Did they make it?
Yeah, playing right now, 1-1.
Oh, wow.
Sixth inning.
I totally checked out of the baseball playoffs.
All I know is Yankees, Red Sox, no Js.
I'm a little sour.
Okay, they're playing right now?
This is, yeah, first game in the playoffs.
Against the Phillies.
Yeah, kind of lame, huh?
A real NLE East showdown.
Yeah.
Okay.
I mean, it's just like ALE East is Yankees Reds.
And AAL East.
I'm pretty sure the winner goes on to play the race.
I'm more locked into the WNBA playoffs at the moment.
Minnesota, New York?
Oh, yeah.
Olivia Miles?
Rookie to swim tonight, you know?
Liberty is.
Libbya Miles, rookie of the year.
Who you got winning at all?
With the bifocals.
You know, I think.
think Las Vegas is a force, you know, obviously, Aja and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, I did you guys, did you guys, did that, I did that, I did that, I did that, I was hope, it was. I was nice. I was
the, actually, the biggest pop from me was when you asked her about the plan B, and as you were, as you were, as you were answering, you're just like, oh, dear, um, I do see a couple of more, um, who would fans side, this another super chat,
within a fight between Hardy and Gable.
Now, does he mean Tom Hardy?
No, he means Greg Hardy.
Greg Hardy.
I think he means Tom.
Not a what?
We were just talking about Tom.
Definitely does not be God.
Greg Hardy.
This is from Fatia, J-L-Y.
Do me a favor.
Hit us up with another $10 to let us know if it's Tom or Greg.
Okay, if it's Greg, he wins.
Gable.
Gable wins, yeah.
If it's Tom, he will win.
I thought we were about to witness a flip-flop of the cinch.
Not even.
Rick picking Greg Hardy.
I said it still take him over.
The breakdown on BITB was legendary.
I actually didn't come out smelling like roses in that either.
I caught a free of the trays there.
All of us were a touch guilty.
I thought you came out looking the best.
You were like...
Shaheen came out looking the best, but yes,
there were definitely some times where I had to give myself the Barry H.
Yeah.
There were some times where I was a little too silent.
I let too many things get away from Rick.
I'm, you know, when I start, people just come along with me.
There was one that I was like, gone.
Yep.
Yeah.
Probably.
Yep.
Volkov.
You said, against Tom, he's definitely not the favorite.
Cyril, maybe.
And then Rick was like, how about Volkov?
And you're like, it's over from it.
It's over from there.
Fucking hell.
Yeah.
It is tough.
Stuff.
Oh, here's another one from Sammy, guys.
Fucking out.
Someone stole my bank card for my phone wallet when lending my phone to make a call.
I don't watch this experience.
I don't want this experience to feel distrust towards all people.
Thank you for giving some light with the show.
I'm sorry, man.
Yeah, Sammy.
That's a shame, man.
Yeah.
I'm sorry.
Well, hopefully you can cancel it and not too much damage.
So we love you, Sammy.
Another one here from Shiz.
Sopro, Ariel, you didn't discuss my boy, Armand Tsarukian, pushing Bobby Green backstage.
Can you show clip of that for us fans, big fan of your show?
I mean, why didn't need me to see?
No, no, this is not nice.
This guy loves this.
He's brought this up several times.
On BITB.
Why is he need me to show the clip?
It is a story from like almost three years ago at this point.
Why do we need to show it at all?
They're never going to fight.
Yeah, that's weird.
Before we go, what about this footage right here?
Sean Strickland and Francis and Ganu, a little spar.
How about shot by Kai Kamakka?
I was going to say, videographer of the year.
Kai Kamaka the third.
What is this?
Francis training for his next one.
I wanted more.
Yeah, I know it cuts off before it gets good, right?
Ah.
I did see a clip of Sean Sheriff talking about sparring with Francis and Ganu, and he made it
sound like a very, very scary experience.
Yo, Francis being in the States at Extreme Couture, that is very much extreme couture.
That's interesting.
Very.
I like that.
In a minute.
I thought he was committed to just being a businessman.
Those photos were incredible.
Analog phones and whatnot.
Was he messing around?
No, no, that's legit.
He had to have been.
Him with the wired, the corded phone just being like...
Those were instantly saved to my camera roll.
The fucking like squinting at the camera, or I mean at the computer.
He was messing around.
He wanted us to react that way.
He was on like a gateway computer.
Yo, are we doing the Mikey Musamechi show or what?
Yo.
Mikey Musamechi in M.M.A.
That face, I don't know.
He didn't seem.
old.
Yeah, he did.
He did make a
How about it?
He was like, how about it on crown?
He's like,
what?
For sure.
How about UFC fight pass?
How about that?
Yeah.
It does seem like he's a fun show.
Oh my God.
Mikey coming to M.
It's a lot of fun.
It's very interesting to see how he's going to do.
Best Division.
At 125, yeah.
Best Division.
Give me Mikey Musimechi versus
Anybody.
Mikey Musumechi Mohamedi Mohamed McCaev,
Mbhamin McCayev, MMA, who wins?
I don't love that one,
because
just too much
MMA experience.
Wrestling versus BJ
tends to go
toward the wrestler.
He didn't have a couple
takedowns on Bryce Mitchell.
It's still like
Tim Elliott,
freaking.
I know, I know.
Just like a grappling match
with Tim Elliott in MMA
would be sick.
The scrambles,
I would love to see
Mikey in the...
If he gets to the top 15
at 1.25, is he already
the biggest star?
Top 15, no,
Joshua Van.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
That's pretty damn popular now.
Yeah, yeah.
People love them.
Brandon Moreno.
Even guys like Horonanamorini, for sure.
Yeah.
Horiguchi.
Or Gucci.
Kai Asakura.
Oh, no, he's at 35 now, so I guess that changes it.
I mean, Van is like, I don't know if he's, I think he's top 10 most popular at this point.
Ooh.
The UFC?
No.
No?
There's a lot of names, man.
Like, if you just go like Hamzaa Pereira, Islam, the Poria.
He's getting there.
People love Joshua Vans.
His ceiling, he has a lot of potential, but he's not there yet.
Van for sure on Snapchat.
I feel like he's not.
I feel like he's not on Snapchat.
He's like in that perfect age.
No, he's not.
I just became the third follower on combat on Snapchat.
The perfect age is lower than your mid-20s.
I'm watching your stories right now.
They're pretty sick, man.
Yo, give us a follow up there.
I told you the little quote that I heard earlier.
Oh, dude, the age filter is sick, man.
The fact that you went the same pose, you were just like,
Yeah, chikung, next filter
Chikung
Yeah, yeah, yeah
Just Dr. Pepper
Yeah
Nice, bro
Nice, bro.
You like that?
There's the story
You just added.
Yo, that's me.
Give me a follow.
Give me a follow.
Ariel Hawani.
My Snapchat's closed off, bro.
No, no, no,
give me another,
let me do this one.
I got about 10 people
that I Snapchat and that's it.
Now, can I ask you a question, G.
Braves up to 1.
Oh.
Yeah, please.
You have this.
very limited, like narrow use of Snapchat now?
Very, very limited.
Could you not transition that to text
and just eliminate the Snapchat?
Because it's like me, like, I don't know.
You see a rat, you know, dead on the sidewalk
and pigeons are eating and it's just like,
oh shit, yo.
Send a quick snap.
Running and it's a great view.
Send a quick snap.
A couple bruskees lined up.
Wait a minute.
You get that notification.
No, I got notifications off for snap, man.
I hit you with one.
You got notice on?
Yeah, there it is.
Added me.
I hit, I hit you.
Ariel Alwani.
I hit him with the giga Chad.
Did you see it?
Wait, you sent it?
I sent it to you.
No, I haven't accepted it yet.
What do you mean?
All right, here we go.
Check it out.
Accepted.
Oh, yeah.
Oh, there it is, bro.
He hit me with the giga Chad.
No, I hit him.
Wait.
You know, now I can take that and immediately,
Ariel Helwani is typing.
You can see me?
Of course I can see you type him.
Yo, we're starting a streak right now, bro.
This is so great.
What's happening now?
Yo, we just started you up.
We just started our snap streak, man.
Wait, what, would you?
Oh, he hit me with a gig and chat too.
There it is.
There it is.
I think my kids are more advanced users of the internet at this point.
I hit you with a reaction.
No, no, we're not starting this, bro.
Is that what you used to do?
Is that what, like, 10th grade Connor would do with the ladies?
Oh, yeah, yeah.
The big one was just the one of these right here, just the, just the, like, top of the head with whatever I needed to say.
Oh, that was it.
Like what?
Like, what would you say?
I mean, come on.
Like, mall tonight?
The game stays in the playbook, right?
What was it?
Like mall tonight?
Game stays in the play ball.
730?
Love that.
Food court?
You get the snap streak going, the incentive to keep talking.
And then when you get the, when you each, when back in the day when you're both each other's numbers ones, you get the special emoji, it's just like, I'm in.
Number one is based on how much you converse?
You have like a best friend's list.
Okay.
Yeah, how much you.
They really play this up, right?
Like, they really try to ignite this type of activity.
Oh, dude, I used to have friends that would just snap me just to be like streak.
And then you just send streak back just to keep the snap streak go.
Wow.
You hit up like, you say like Panda Express tonight.
No.
Food court.
Did you guys go to the food court?
Yeah, no about the food court.
Snapchat is a bygone era for me though.
You're done?
When did you graduate?
When did you, when do you think you, like, you're shack on the Celtics on, on,
probably like six or seven years ago.
It was when I was like, all right, this is dying out.
What is that?
2025.
That's Joshua Van.
Yeah, yeah.
Oh, you're saying me.
That's like 26, 27, yeah.
All right.
So I mean, you're on MMA hour.
Yeah, like I got a Snapchat memory of me walking into the first time.
Oh, my days.
Can we see that?
I think I had to wear a mask.
No, you didn't.
Oh, actually you did, yeah, August 231.
What a time, what a time.

You don't want people out of you, bro.
I want people sending you snaps.
How do I do this?
I do.
I don't know.
I don't know.
I figure out how to open Slack.
There's got to be business accounts.
Yeah, there has to be like a...
I see Ariel Hall-on.
Just ask AJ.
He's figured it out, clearly.
Oh, wait.
Frank Lens is typing.
He wrote casual to me.
You know Frank Snap every once in a while.
Wait, so are you snapping with the boys now?
My kids?
Yeah.
I sent my...
Oh, wow.
My middle son, Ollie doesn't have...
Excuse me, my middle son, Walter,
doesn't have a phone or anything like that.
Ollie I did, but here, let's see.
Yeah, school's over, so let's see.
You're sending Mad Snaps to one, and the other's just left out.
Well, he's not, it was like,
you good, bro?
Let's see what he says.
He's going to call you the worst things.
And then I could take a picture, right?
Oh, yeah, and I could do, oh, this is great.
I could do, oh, yeah.
I did one with a big nose.
Doug, this is like someone getting into Vine in like 2019.
This is, you know what?
How do I send it?
What is this?
Get lens plus or send this snap?
What the hell is lens plus?
Oh, you can pay for Snapchat plus and get more lenses.
Well, how do I?
You've got to unlock the full Snapchat experience, dog.
Bro, so I can't send this to my son.
You can, right?
No, it's not letting me.
Oh, it's one of those lenses that was extra.
Pay to play, bro.
Oh, lens.
Plus, you save enough memories.
They're going to start trying to charge you for memory space as well.
They're like, you're going to lose your sacred memories.
Wait, you can save stuff on Snapchat?
Oh, dude, that's like, from like 2019, anything pre-2019?
It's just on save to my Snapchat memories, yeah.
Wasn't the whole point, you know, I feel like Chris DeLea right now,
because he had this moment where he was like, you can save Snapchats and you got caught.
It's quite the mention you got going on.
They don't disappear?
They disappear, but like they allowed you to start saving them.
And now you can save everything into the chats with people.
It's evolved, man. It's evolved.
There's stories and it's a whole thing.
It's a whole thing.
I'm also acting like I'm some sort of expert.
I mean, I use it maybe twice a week.
I do want to let you know that someone did send me a message that Ben Whitaker has a long-term contract with Matrim.
So that was sent my way.
They sent that to you on Snap.
Someone sent me another super chat here is Habib the Goat only lost one round to Connor, only undefeated fighter.
in history of UFC, guys, is he the goat?
No.
Abel Trujillo says otherwise.
Remember that one?
No, it's, it's Gleeson Tebow.
Oh, that's right.
He destroyed Abel Trillo.
I thought you were fucking around.
Davy Ramosing us.
Yo, how about Davy?
Popping up.
Yo, Davy's like in the news.
He's like the freaking source.
Messenger of the Haonee Barcelos.
Why did I say Abel Trujillo?
Because he bought him.
We need a bar.
Davy Ramos next time.
I'm Shack on the Celtics. That's what I am.
Ariel, when are you visiting my hood, Australia?
Come to Brisbane City. We love you, bro. Let me tell you something.
England, Australia, Ireland, I would love it. I would love it. I would love it. I would love it.
We got to figure it out. Georgia. Let's go to Georgia. What do you guys say?
Tibilsi. Wait. Tbilisi.
Tbilisi. I'll pay my way, bro.
How do we figure that out? How do we figure out the international tour?
while also doing everything here.
We must take time away from this if we want to do it.
I know, but it's just so great.
Australia, New Zealand, I would love New Zealand as well.
But I mean, that is a trek.
Let's throw Samoa in that, too.
Fiji, Tahiti.
Damn, now you're talking.
We're silent up.
We're getting close to Hawaii too.
I'm down.
Yodo.
Yoto.
You know what I'm saying?
Jens, tomorrow on the program, we are going to be joined by Alex Hernandez, who is fighting on this UFC 332 card this weekend against Hafeldos, who we had on the show.
Chaos Williams is going to be joining us.
He has a massive assignment against Roberto Solditch.
I'm very excited to have Kevin K in studio tomorrow.
If you're unfamiliar with the name Kevin K, you can make a case he's one of the most important figures in the history of MMA.
Why?
Because he was the president of Spike TV when the U.S.
UFC launched the ultimate fighter.
He gave them the time by slot right after Monday Night Raw,
sign them for year two, year three, year four, year five.
Then, of course, eventually they went to Fox.
And then, of course, he signed Bellator when they left to Fox.
He's been a champion of mixed martial arts in this country and on television for, you know,
decades now.
And he's a part of the new key MMA team as well.
I've never had, you know what, maybe back in the day we had him on.
now that I think of it, but it's certainly been a while since I've had a long conversation with him.
We're two former Spike employees, actually.
I was there for a cup of coffee, but just to talk to him about the history of the sport,
the history of the sport on television, the evolution of the sport, KMMA is something that I'm really looking forward to.
We'll probably have one or two more guests, so stay tuned for that.
We'll, of course, also be reacting to the press conference happening in London during the show,
Anthony Joshua, Tyson Fury, so much to chew on.
there and OTN. So it's another busy day. And of course, we are going to be with you on Saturday
for our watch party in New York City. Link is in the chat. And I hope as many of you as possible
in the tri-state area could be there. We could talk about the NICS. We could talk about all the things
that you want to talk about UFC 332 party this Saturday in downtown Manhattan. One last thing,
if I may, Vice TV every Friday at 8 p.m. Best of the Ariel Hawani show. We're very proud of this
partnership, and there's more to come as well, and they're doing big things over on
Vice as far as combat sports are concerned. So please support them because they support us.
I'm at a time.
Has anyone been to Australia other than me on the team? I think Rick has been there once, right?
I have. Sydney? No, Melbourne.
You were at Marvel Stadium, formerly known as Eddie Had Stadium.
Izzy versus Robert Whitaker. Yes, I remember this. Sick fight. Have you been to Sydney?
No.
Anyone else?
Never been would love to

Uh, draw.
Yeah.
Well, of course, I say it ended in.
No, no, it was a draw.
I remember.
It was a draw.
No, but the way I said it.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Uh, big fight on that card.
Mark Hunt, Chris Tusherer.

You had to have probably Sauteropolis on that joy.

Ah, what a time.
