Lazy! Welcome to the Air...
Monday, October 5th,
To that.
And 26. Hello again, everyone.
I sure hope you're doing well.
It is great to be here.
Sorry, Larry. I didn't mean to do that.
That was very rude of me.
Why did I hit the Larry OB?
That's crazy.
He's been with me for about six plus months now.
No, not six plus months.
It feels like six plus months.
No, what?
Three plus months?
Three and a half months?
He's been by my side.
and oh, how I love him so much.
I do wonder, can I keep him next year if we don't go back to back?
Probably, because we are going to go back to back.
Actually, two weeks from today, two weeks from tomorrow.
Two weeks from tomorrow opening day.
Can't wait to be there in attendance.
Do I have tickets?
No.
Will I be there come hell or high water?
Absolutely.
I'm in a great mood this afternoon, my friends.
Why?
Because yesterday I was at my son's soccer game,
and I tried to pull the old move where you put your hood.
on and you got the one air pod in just to listen to Bill's Pats thought it would be a pretty easy
dove alas it was not same old defense same old secondary same old bullshit we don't need to talk about
all of that next to the champions peace and love peace and love anyway at some point i guess i got
distracted and i just went about my day and i left the air pod the singular the single air pod there
in the stands and later in the evening i'm doing my my stuff my chores i uh
I actually want to give matcha bath,
and I like to listen to things while I do that
because it's not exactly the most fun experience,
although it has gone better.
We really do bond in that moment.
Nevertheless, I go to get the AirPods, and one is missing.
Do the old find my iPhone thingy,
AirPod at the park.
Drive to the park, not there.
Like it doesn't show up on the map anymore,
or you just couldn't find it?
Actually, I lied.
The door was locked.
So I looked all around,
because it did say that it was in a different part of the park,
but the door was locked to go into exactly where I was sitting.
And so I was bumped.
Ah, $300 down the tube, this and that.
This morning, get ready early, drive to the park, door open,
go to the stands.
There it is!
Hell yeah.
The single AirPod waiting for its daddy.
You know, like, when you take things for granted,
and then you get them back in your life,
and you're like, you know what, I shouldn't take this for granted.
And now this has become a blessing.
You know what that's like, guys.
Anyway, so I'm in a great mood.
UFC 332 has come and gone.
And what a night we had at one-for-one in downtown New York City.
Some 200 people showed up.
Capacity.
They had to turn people away.
It was a capacity crowd.
Look at this scene here.
This place was amazing.
All courtesy of our good friends over at Cal Shee.
We had Gamecock Jake actually made the trek from South Carolina.
He took a play.
I mean, I was blown away.
I was absolutely blown away.
took the flight from South Carolina.
There was another gentleman from South Africa
who was here on vacation,
extended his trip.
Another gentleman from Chicago
extended his business trip to be there.
Wives were there, girlfriends were there.
Everyone had a great time.
Myself, Rick, G.C. there.
Camera guy, Nick, was there.
It was amazing.
It was actually so much fun to watch the fights
and a pretty damn good card,
and we'll get into all of that,
with just like hardcore fans,
did a little trivia,
answered some questions,
did a little post-show recap, talked about 335, had a blast.
Open bar and open kitchen, by the way.
All on the house.
And everyone was well-behaved.
Everyone left happy.
I split the G.
I beat G-C.
And Rick.
It was phenomenal.
I have the visual evidence.
Kalshi really killed it.
And so hopefully we'll get to do that again.
I saw some people that, when's the next one?
Wins the next one.
We'll figure it out.
But we're definitely going to do that again because I had a blast.
So shout at the Kalshi.
We appreciate them.
very much. And this would probably be a good time to tell you that today's program is brought
you by our good friends over at Cal She. They are in exchange where you can trade on what you actually
think is going to happen in the world of sports, politics, and culture. Whatever's on your mind,
you're going up against other traders directly. There's no house setting the odds. It's just people
putting their own opinions on the line. So right now, you can trade 25 buccaroos with the code
Helwani, and they'll throw in another $25 instantly. That's it. Trade responsibly. There's the
QR code. Some of you moan about the sponsors, but they treat us well, so we want you to support them
because they support us. And then they put on parties and you get free alcohol and free food,
and you get to watch the fights in a pretty damn cool locale with a bunch of other hardcore fans.
What's better than that? Other exciting news that I'm really happy about on this Monday.
The uncrown newsletter has officially launched. Shout out to She Loves the Gloves,
a.k.a. Duddy, who hails from Georgia, who spends some time in New Zealand as well. Is it
dutty or is a duty? Now that I say that. I feel... Oh, and duty. Yeah. It's a duty. Yeah, it should be
duty. That's my bad. D-U-D-E-Y. Anyway, she is prolific. She is phenomenal. I'll get it right.
And the first one is out. If you already subscribe to the substack where we do on the nose,
you're already subscribed and you should have gotten it this morning. If you haven't, I've linked to it
on X and on my IG story, Arielhalwani.substack.com every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.
One will hit your inbox very early morning UK time, obviously very early here on the East Coast
and super late at night if the math works out on the West Coast. There it is. The Uncrowned
newsletter, and Italia Siva seizes the throne. 332 exceeds expectations. I'm so excited about
this, a one-stop shop for everything going on in the world of Uncrowned.
And like I said, this is something that I've wanted to do for some time.
And we have found the right gal for the job.
So do subscribe.
It's free.
And we're all over the place with the pods, with the website, with the shows, the YouTube, the audio, and uncrowned films.
And this is your spot to know what's going on.
And speaking of uncrown films, we'll have a new one on Thursday at about 9 a.m. Eastern dropping on key M.MA.
So Casey's been working on that.
And excited to drop a new one into the library.
All right, we got a lot to get to as far as today's program is concerned at 4 o'clock Eastern.
We're going to be joined by Oscar Delahoya, the Golden Boy.
He's got a big show going down this Saturday in Chicago Win Trust Center.
It's Lucas Body against Floyd Schofield for the vacant WBA lightweight title.
That was the belt recently held by Giovante Tank Davis.
But of course, there's a whole bunch of stuff that we need to talk to Oscar about the Ryan Garcia fight, Eddie versus Dana.
the ring being sold to the zone reportedly, according to Tris Dixon. So there's a lot there.
Stay tuned for that. Can't wait for that. Prior to that, we're going to go into a deep dive into
everything that has happened between Eddie Hearn and Dana White over the course of the last few days,
five or so days since we last spoke on Wednesday. A lot has happened. It has been very interesting.
This is the story that will never die. And right now, I'm not hoping that it dies because it's
been very entertaining and fun to cover. So I hope you feel the same way. I know there's some people,
well, I couldn't care less.
It's made the AJ Fury fight even bigger, in my opinion.
And I think there's an appetite for it.
And it's actually highlighted something about Dana White
that we haven't seen in quite some time,
if not ever, which we'll get into.
Kevin Vasejos is returning to action
on November 21st in Qatar against Al Jameen Sterling.
You may recall late last week,
we spoke to Aljo about the fight.
Kevin's a rising star.
We'll talk to him about that fight,
the pride of Argentina at 225.
Anthony Wint has won again in the UFC this time in 23 seconds.
The guy is an absolute stud.
He's very entertaining.
I enjoyed our first chat with him.
When was that?
Just a few weeks ago.
And he was back in action on Saturday in Salt Lake City.
He was phenomenal and we'll be joined by him at 2 o'clock to talk about the big win.
So stay tuned for that.
First hour of the show, we will recap the weekend that was in combat sports and in
particular talk about UFC 332. And so let us get into UFC 332. By now you know that there is a
brand new UFC women's flyway champion. Her name is Natalia Silva. You know that this card aired on
CBS, which was a pretty big deal when you consider the fact that no main card from start to finish
had ever aired on CBS before. And this to me felt like a big deal. Because, you know, I remember the first
CBS card, the first MMA card on CBS was a massive deal.
Millions of people tuned in.
That was Kimbo Slice versus James Thompson.
And that was May of 2008.
And it just always feels special.
It always feels important, notable, when MMA airs on any type of broadcast
network.
And I know we had the UFC on ESPN and obviously that would be cable TV, but ABC for about
like four or so cards.
UFC on Fox had been a minute since a numbered event had aired on broadcast cable.
In fact, if my memory is accurate, this might have been the first full main card that was a numbered
event.
Obviously, numbered events used to air from time to time on Spike TV.
Don't think they ever aired on Fox.
Definitely didn't air on the ABCC.
That was notable.
And this was a somewhat maligned card and everyone had their say on.
you know, the quality of the main event, the depth of the card.
In the end, as I predicted, going into the card, Dana White said, what did he say?
You can't judge a card before it happens, of course.
And in the end, in the aftermath, it ended up being great.
It almost seems like the MMA gods are always in their favor.
And it ended up being very entertaining.
In fact, it ended up being historic.
This courtesy of duty on our substack, on our newsletter, three different references.
records were broken on Saturday.
Most KOs 11 on one card.
Most first round KOs, nine on one card.
Most knockdowns on one single fight night, 16.
So it was high action, highly entertaining.
Everyone was into it.
The part that Dana White doesn't seem to truly grasp is that just like something can fall short of expectations.
You can bill a card or a movie or a show or.
a play or an album as incredible and it falls short, something can exceed expectations.
But the narrative that something isn't up to snuff, isn't what we have been told is the standard,
isn't the standard that we are used to.
And then the card ends up being entertaining and then doing the whole, well, I told you
so, you guys are idiots because you said beforehand it isn't good or isn't up to stuff.
And look how fun it was.
These two things don't align.
something can be on paper not good
and then in the end be entertaining
and something can be on paper great
and then in the end not be entertaining
that doesn't mean you could say
I told you so
we know what the standard is
we know what the numbered event standard is
you get a high level main event
you get a high level title fight
that's usually the best fight on the card
or the most anticipated fight on the card
in this case to me Talbot
Figaro felt like the culmination
and by the time Natalia Silva
and this is no knock on her
I actually really liked the main event, and I didn't crap on this card at all.
Even as of Saturday morning, I wasn't crapping on it.
But I obviously understand where people are coming from.
If you looked at the crowd behind her when she was doing that post-fight interview,
there was hardly anyone there anymore.
It's very rare these days, credit to the UFC for this,
that the least entertaining fight on a main card is the main event.
And that was the case in this particular one.
I didn't think it was like a total stinker, a dud of a main event.
But you have to say that it wasn't like Peyton v. Figaro or,
Riebovich versus Green or Roman Coppilov versus Atiba Gautier. In the end, you've got a new champion in
Natalia Silva. She beats Wang Tong and I thought it was a fine performance. She is somewhat exhausting
to watch because she is constantly moving. She is constantly fainting. She is constantly twitching.
She's a very good fighter. And oh, by the way, another record was broken because she has the best
start for a female fighter in UFC history. She was 8 and 0 going into that fight. Now 9.
know she beats you on jacek's record which she had tied with her last win and uh she's a pretty damn
great fighter and this is a this is a good result for the ufc this is the best result for the ufc because let's be
honest if valentina shavchenko was going to be defending the title on saturday if she was still the champion
and active she would have been fighting natalia sylva everyone knew natalia sylva was next there was no doubt
there was no discussion or debate about that wang got the title shot because
Shefchenko mysteriously can't fight, and she's ranked eighth, and there was no one really
that was available because everyone else was booked, you know, the Blanche Fields of the world,
the grasses of the world, everyone else was booked.
And so they went with her fresh opponent.
She's got the history with Valentina if she wins.
Now you can build that, you know, rematch rivalry, all that stuff and more.
But this is the better result because this person, Italia Silva, was supposed to be fighting for
the belt.
And so it doesn't feel like that much of a drop off.
But let's be honest, it still does feel a little.
weird that Valentina Shevchenko is not the UFC women's flyway champion for multiple reasons.
She was unceremoniously like, you know, taken away as champion.
We're still not sure was she stripped.
Did she voluntarily vacate?
I did ask around.
I did get some answers.
Yes, does she have a lingering injury?
Yes.
If the UFC would have had another title fight for October 3rd, would she still be champion?
Yes.
Did she willingly give up that belt?
No, absolutely not.
needed a title fight. They said we'll do right by you. When you come back, you'll get the title
fight. And so there does seem to be some sort of like sporting aspect missing from all this.
To me, I like when the UFC and when my fight sports are, you know, lineal. When there's a champion who
then has the belt, who then loses the belt, and now there's a new champion, now it feels like a real thing.
Once we start to get into the habit of this guy can't fight when we need him to fight or when we need a title
fights, so we're going to take this belt here, we're going to create a new belt, and we'll make
an interim belt, and then that person will be elevated. It significantly devalues and waters down the
titles. It does. You can't deny that. For a champion to get over, they got to beat the champion,
famous Rick Flair line, and it has nothing to do with scoring. Be the man, you got to beat the man,
and then you take that belt, and now you become the man, or woman in this case, and then you go on
to defend it and then someone else beats you.
As we sit here today, and this might be a record as well, I haven't gone deep into the
record books, but I can't imagine it being higher than this.
There are 11 champions in the UFC.
Do you know how many of those champions did not beat the champion to become champion?
Five, five, almost 50% of the current UFC champions did not beat the champion to become a champion.
Natalia Silva won.
Mackenzie Dern didn't beat Zhang Wei to become champion.
Surreal Gan didn't beat Tom Aspinall to become champion.
Oh, by the way, Tom Aspinall got his belt by not beating the champion as well.
Carlos Ulberg didn't beat Alex Pereira to become champion.
vacant title fight against Yerai Pachaska.
And Alex Volcanovsky, even though he was a former champion, didn't beat Ilya
to become champion.
That was a vacant title fight.
No, by the way, prior to that, Ilya didn't beat Isamachev to become lightweight champion.
Islam moved up to 170.
I hate this.
I don't like this.
This, to me, devalue.
and waters down the titles.
It makes them feel less important, less significant.
It makes the win feel less significant,
especially when you have a legend like Valentina Shvchenko,
who was just holding the belt,
and a lot of people still consider her
the unofficial, the uncrowned, the people's champion, if you will.
That fight needs to happen.
And what I was told was she is going to come back and do time,
and by the time Natalia Silva is ready to fight again,
she will be ready.
This isn't going to keep her on the sidelines for quite some time.
She did weigh in on the victory.
She said well deserved, Natalia.
Congratulations.
It's my pleasure to know that the UFC Champions Belt is now holding deserving
martial artists such as you are.
Shade on Wang?
I don't know.
But don't get too comfortable.
Keep it warm.
I'm coming soon for my belt.
So there you have it.
That's the fight to make.
And I'm glad to hear that she is relatively okay.
And I'm glad to hear that she is going to come back.
And she should be fighting for the belt.
By the way, as all this was happening, she's out there dancing and doing.
all kinds of things. She's been very busy.
She looks pretty damn healthy to me right here, Valentina.
Look at her, living her best life. Look at the moves.
I don't think it's a wrist injury.
Doesn't seem to be walking with a limp.
She seems to be in great spirits.
I really do think this was a matter of, could you fight on this date?
No, I can't. Some nicks and knacks.
All right, we're going to make a title fight, and you'll fight the winner.
I do think a legend like her deserves a little bit more respect than that,
but Natalia gets her shot.
Congratulations to her. She won fair and square.
Dana White's narrative afterwards
that Wang could have done a little bit more.
I don't know.
This wasn't Ian Gary versus Islam,
if you ask me.
I feel like Natalia even dropped her at one point.
She fought a really good fight.
She's a really tricky puzzle to figure out.
Just ask some of the other top names
who have lost to her.
Andraj, Grazzo, Namajunis.
Remember those names?
We'll talk about that later on.
Pizzi, how are you, my friend?
How's everything?
What's the crack?
Crack is good.
Very jealous of you, boys.
Having yourself a time was getting sent pictures of Guinness.
Saw that lovely crowd.
Saw that lovely room.
Watch the post shows.
Everyone having a great time.
Yeah.
Very, very jealous.
Hurtz.
No.
Can I be honest with you?
I wish we recorded it.
One person specifically, and G.C.
And Enric can back me on this.
Where's Pizzi?
And why didn't you bring him out?
Was that not a question, guys?
Someone came on the microphone.
How are you not flown from Ireland just for the watch party?
It was actually a bit of like an antagonistic tone.
Like, how did you guys not bring them out?
She was the number one crack fan, too.
Oh, this is the teacher.
Yes, she was a teacher, PT, teacher, English teacher,
ninth and twelfth grade listens to the crack religiously.
Like, see, that's the thing about the crack.
It's a bit more of like a highbrow audience, right?
It's the professors, it's the teachers, it's the learned crew, right?
Yeah, that's right.
To the point that I mentioned your wife and she said, whoa, I don't think they're married yet.
I don't think they're married yet.
I was like, wow.
Yeah.
You know ball.
You know ball better than men.
Elaine. Could you believe that?
Yeah. Well, Elaine's, you know, she's a celebrity unto
herself. This isn't making me feel better, last. This is making
me actually wish I was there even more now.
Oh, sorry. But I'm glad you had a good time.
I'm glad everyone had a great time.
It's great no fights, which I will say,
I'm not trying to give himself the old Barry H.
I did mention that he was going to, this was
perfect fodder for the old day in a wait.
Oh, wait for the fights to be over before you call it crap.
I've been saying that all week. The fights were made
to be spectacular. And they were
However, on the point of the main event that you just made,
I actually genuinely have a question for you, Americans.
I really do.
Please.
So say, honestly, I've been thinking about this.
So the big games, NFL was, like Christmas Day, Thanksgiving,
it's a big thing, the Thanksgiving game, right?
Everyone sits around.
Now they've got a Wednesday game before Thanksgiving.
And a Friday.
I don't want to talk about the Wednesday game.
I'm talking about the one.
When everyone's full of meat, they're all sweaty.
They've had two ones.
Chiefs on Thursday night this year.
Listen, mate, it doesn't matter.
I'm trying to make a point.
All right, sorry, sorry.
Okay.
So it's a big game.
Gets the nation interested.
You sit down,
you just watch together.
What would happen,
for example,
if instead of the aforementioned bills and chiefs game,
the NFL announced it's going to be Titans,
Browns on Thanksgiving.
Yeah.
And everyone's like,
oh.
Yeah.
Oh, not the Titans, not the Browns.
DeShon Watson, what?
Yeah.
What the fuck?
Cam Ward?
What the fuck is going?
You know what I mean?
What are you doing to my holiday?
Yes.
And then the lads go out.
And ball.
We're talking just ball out.
Is everyone suddenly like, well, NFL?
I didn't even know.
You're 100%.
That was amazing.
Is that how that would do?
That's exactly what just happened.
There's one way it's not comparable.
And that is people don't skip the NFL.
UFC is a skippable product in certain capacities now.
There is too much of it.
Nobody ever skips NFL.
You, like, that Thursday game is going to be watched whether it's the absolute worst.
But his point, his point is, is astute.
Yeah, like, it's 100% the same thing.
Thank you.
Hoy, bro.
But nobody tunes out.
Whereas this one, I think there are people who did not watch it, despite the fact that it was a great card.
It ended up being a great card, right?
It ended up being exciting.
Yeah.
There are people who did not watch it because they are not interested in the fighters that they have put on this card.
Whereas in the NFL, that's getting watched no matter what.
But, yeah, like, you, you.
You can't do the Monday morning quarterback to tie this back to football.
You can't do the Monday morning quarterback and be like,
it was a great card because there were so many finishes.
That's not how this works.
There's so many finishes on a regional show in Alabama on a Thursday night.
That doesn't make it a good card.
That's not how that works.
There have to be stakes.
There have to be high-ranked fighters.
This is the UFC.
This is not a regional promotion.
You cannot be putting on cards of this caliber.
And then when there's knockouts, be like, well, I told you it'd be great.
Fuck off.
Yes, I love that.
Come on, Rick.
And by the way, you're 100% right because, let's be honest, there has been a stretch recently where the UFC is on fire from an entertainment standpoint.
But is there a case to be made that the standard is so low now that, you know, it's a lot easier to score these knockouts.
For example, or maybe I should say in other words, are there more mismatches these days?
is the match.
Dana keeps talking about the matchmaking,
the matchmaking,
is the matchmaking,
quote unquote,
so good that it's leading
to these, you know,
massive beat downs,
knockouts,
finishes, early finishes,
but it's not really exemplifying
how great the sport can be
and how great the fighters can be
because it's so watered down
and they are trying to up
the entertainment value
by booking these matches.
Like Anthony Wint versus Lucas Armand.
Like,
like, it just,
with all due respect,
it just doesn't.
What did we find out?
from that. I mean, honestly, outside of the main
event, what was the most consequential outcome?
A Tebow-Gotiate getting knocked out?
Roberto Solditch getting a W in his
UFC. Peyton Talbot
to me, that was the big... The Pankton-Talbent fight went
exactly how I thought it was going to go. I said it all
week. I feel like everybody said it. He was a minus
800 favorite, whatever it was.
100%. He was getting Davidson Vigorado at a
favorable time in his career.
It's like, it's not like I learned
anything new about Peyton Talbot here.
It's just like, okay, he did what I expected him
to do in this situation. Especially after the Sehudo fight, right?
The Suhudo fight showed this and more, and this was kind of a retraction.
Do you guys think that they are booking the cards this way?
There is something.
Yeah, absolutely.
You mentioned at the beginning how many records it broke,
and it feels like this is like the third or fourth time this year,
where it's like, and we broke the record for most first round finishes.
Think about the Serbia card.
Think about the Seattle card we were at.
It does feel like they're booking more for an excitement factor,
because I don't disagree.
The card was very exciting and very entertaining to watch,
but the point still stands from pre-card,
the stakes just weren't really there
and that's why it lacked
excitement for me going into it.
There are a few things happening here.
For one, we're in a social media era, right?
We're in a social media age.
It's just, you should be,
you should be trying to lean into that.
You should be looking for snackable stuff.
You can't post a 15-minute decision
or a 25-minute decision on social media
and make people get excited about it.
But if you post somebody getting starched in 20 seconds,
that's going to help your product.
And that's such a pathway.
that's such a great distribution point.
So there's the social media aspect of it,
the lack of attention spans and wanting that to happen.
There's the second aspect of it is the caliber of fighter has changed, right?
And there are going to be more squash matches based on that.
And part of that is due to the construction of it.
The third thing that's happening, and it relates to the second thing,
is the UFC has eliminated the middle class.
And I continue to harp on this, but this is a reality that is happening.
Those middle class fighters, the middle tier of fighters who are not quite good enough to be
highly ranked or champions, but not bad enough to just be like Contender Series fodder.
They are too expensive for the UFC.
Why should I pay somebody in the middle a high amount of money when I could pay somebody on the
bottom a lot, lot less that just came in from Contender Series, pay them a lot, lot less,
and they're going to give me just as much excitement and just as much value on the cart.
So once you eliminate those people, all you've got left is fights against two unknowns that
could end in a knockout because nobody has any fucking clue, like, how good they are or
how good they are not, or a veteran versus one of those young guys,
and if the veteran wins, they smoke them.
If the young guy wins, they've now smoked a veteran in an exciting fashion.
It's kind of, it has, it is an environment that has been primed for exactly this.
It's an environment that has been primed for the removal of the roadblocks to instantaneous,
kind of like, knockout action and excitement at a lower cost.
And business-wise, it makes sense for the UFC.
It's smart.
Sports ways, the sport is suffering because I really believe that.
Do you think so, though?
Do you think so?
Because I think some casual fan watching that on Saturday might have walked away being like,
yo, this shit is sick.
Look at these guys.
Yeah, and they probably love power slap.
They love contender series because they're going to see people getting splattered.
Like, that's what they're here for.
They're here to see people getting splattered.
They've no interest in game plans.
So, so the devil's advocate.
You guys like the main event better than any other fight on the card then?
No. I didn't like that fight going into it.
But that's not meritocracy either. Removing the champion to fake a fight. That's not what I'm just saying for a stylistic standpoint from a gamesmanship standpoint, from a chess match standpoint.
It was a little bit more high level than, I don't know, Figurato versus Payne Talbot.
I cared more about it. It was more significant.
Did you really care that much more about it? I cared more about Payne Talbot versus Figurato. To me, that was like a chance for Payne Talbot to cement himself.
as the guy who could call out Sean O'Malley.
I was excited.
We were told that this was an important fight in the main event.
They removed an established champion.
One of the greatest champions in the history of the organization
and pushed these into a title fight.
Like that is not the same as having a tenure champion
like Valentina and Shevchenko fighting a decision.
Say she's in Italia Silva's position.
That would probably feel different
because it's once again a notch in her belt
in terms of our legacy.
This felt forced.
But if you view this is a...
a number one contender fight, it's still a fine
fight. Natalia Silva is the number one
contender for Valentina Shevchenko's title.
And I'm totally fine with that.
There was something significant that happened in it.
Was it the most thrilling fight ever? No.
Was it a bad fight? No.
But the artificial inflation of the
stakes is the problem. Removing Valentina
and removing her belt and then going,
this is the championship,
feels silly when you could just be like
this is Natalia Silva, who's killing
everybody and she could be the next champion.
One thing that's funny about what inevitably Dana was going to do at the Post-Five press conference,
which is like the media doesn't know what the fuck they're talking about, you guys don't know,
shut up and watch the fights, all that stuff and more, is that the thing that I feel like he has been doing this for a while.
This isn't new.
The media doesn't know.
Now his new thing is like, I block everyone, my algorithm.
That's his new wording, but he's been saying this forever.
And to me, I don't know if he views it this way.
Maybe he does it.
Maybe he's so disconnected from it all.
But I've always felt like shitting on the media.
that covers you on a day-to-day basis is only a reflection on you. You are only as good,
if you are a sporting entity as good as the media who covers you, because if you're saying
that all these idiots and dumbasses are the ones who spend time dissecting and covering your sport,
what does that say about your product? What does that say about the people that you are attracting
to devote their lives to covering you? Maybe he doesn't think of it that way, but that's how
I perceive it. You sitting there as the president of the sport says, all the people who cover us
are a bunch of fucking idiots, a bunch of losers, bunch of know-noblings who know nothing about
the sport who have never done anything in their lives. Well, then what does it say about the product
that you put on? Obviously, he's not telling the truth. It just feels like a weird thing to say about
the people who cover your sport on a day-to-day basis. There's no one you like. There's no one you
respect. Surely there's got to be someone out there that you think does a good job of breaking
it down or making sense of it all, analyzing it all. It's all very silly. And he did it this morning
on with the diary of a CEO guy. I block everyone. And it's not really. And it's not
rooted in anything. And by the way, we know for a fact that they do pay attention to us.
I know for a fact. Guy lost his head, you know, cornering people in the offices, asking them,
are you talking to Ariel? Where do he get this from? Where do he get that from? They fucking
ban me from covering the sport for 48 hours because of my reporting. They pay attention to everything.
But he has to do the thing of like, oh, they don't know what they're talking about. We told you so.
It's so tiresome. It's so tiresome because there are good people covering the sport. Maybe not at the press
conferences week in and week out, and all of them told you the same thing. Yes, this card can be fun.
Yes, it will probably be entertaining. Yes, it will be, you know, worth a night out with your
friends drinking whatever the case is, but it is not the standard of your typical numbered event.
And certainly not the first ever numbered event to air in totality on CBS, on the Tiffany network,
on the Annie network, whatever it is. It can't be that. It has to be bigger than that. It has to be bigger than that.
It has to be better than that.
But, you know, he'll spin it into these people don't know what they're talking about.
About the Dory CEO, I think another clip that came out from, like, Ian Gary is getting pelted.
Like, for having a competitive fight with the greatest fighter walking planet Earth.
He keeps on reiterating this.
And Dana's the guide for the fan base, which we've seen so many times, right?
We saw it with Tom Aspinall's eyes, for example, early on when he was like Tom didn't want a fight, that was the narrative everyone picked up on.
This idea that Ian Gary, and look, he brought.
probably has a point about the fifth round.
He could have went crazy.
But a young guy being on that level against the best fighter in the world,
I'm not thinking like,
this guy's probably going to fight for a title again.
Just highlighting how in the fifth round he didn't put the foot down the way he wanted
to,
and how,
like,
you know,
how upset he is about this.
I think that's a kind of a nod to like the lack of emphasis on sport as well.
Yeah,
where do you think that comes from?
What do you think is the root of that?
I've been saying it,
you know,
I've been saying it quite a bit.
I think it's Eddie.
I think some of it is to deal with the editing.
He's fucking livid that they gave him a title shot.
And a week later, they blindsided them by saying, here we are going to.
If there's one thing, what does Dana White always stress?
Loyalty.
Right?
That's disloyal.
So he is going to shit.
It is going to have to take an act from God for him to be put back in that position to fight for the belt.
And maybe he's at peace with that.
But that's where all this comes from.
You don't think, what did Dana say in the media tour recently?
Oh man, I was rooting for Cyril Ghan to beat Francis and Gano and all that was going.
What do you think he was doing on that night?
You think he was rooting for Ian to win?
He was rooting for Islam.
You think he wanted Eddie to be there with a champion of his,
parading him around with a UFC champion?
I was told I was ludicrous when I said this on point.
By who?
By who us?
Well, some media members.
Not you guys.
No.
I will say.
But who are these people?
Oh, he's only his commercial manager.
It's not to do with the fights.
All right.
That's who he's associating with.
What do you guys make of five of the current UFC champions didn't
beat the champion to become champion.
Chuck him.
No, but does that, like, G.C., from your perspective,
does that make it less interesting, less, does it, does it devalue the belts?
Yeah, obviously don't like it.
I mean, it's much better when the champion takes the belt from the previous champion,
obviously, like Justin Gaci taking it off of Ilya to Poria.
It feels like it means more.
The more you look at it, though, when you break it down, it's just like, okay, well, Volk,
the reason is because Ilya moved up.
Ilya at first was because Islam moved up to 170.
Now you're having these champions being forced to vacate due to injuries.
Tom Aspinol vacating, Valentina Shevchenko vacating.
It feels like we're at a weird time in the sport where people are chasing the double champ status along with long-term injuries,
automatically forcing champions to vacate the belt, which is odd.
It feels like they're just trying to fill the schedule.
I don't care about how many it is, nor do I care about the circumstances around each.
I care that they didn't need to.
They don't need to do this.
I continue to be told, and I'm pelted in the face by it all the time.
There has to be a title.
No, there does not have to be a title on top of a card.
The champ can't move up and hold their belt.
Why?
All these things that I'm being told.
the fight that happened
UFC 332 on Saturday
didn't require a title
you could have put any fight on top there
and it wouldn't have made a damn bit of difference
nobody tuned in to Natalia Silver versus
Wong Tong because there was a title on the line
it didn't make one iota of difference
in terms of the viewership nobody looked at the poster
and saw gold on it and went
I have to tune into that now it's insignificant
it's irrelevant the days of that are over
it's complete nonsense this idea that like
well you have to have the best
belt on. The reason Islam Makachev can't take his 55 belt and go up to 170 and chase for the title
is because we got to have the belt at 55. It's all this subject to the schedule shit. It's all this
bullshit that they keep telling us. But the belt thing doesn't matter. If you put a belt on somebody who
didn't earn the belt, it's insignificant. Nobody cares anymore. I don't care what's on the poster.
It doesn't work. It doesn't work. Until somebody can prove to me it works, it doesn't work.
You know what's funny? They're still obsessed with the idea that a title fight has to headline a numbered event,
but yet they aren't obsessed with the idea
that the numbered events have to have
a certain type of quality attached to them, right?
Because ultimately, to your point,
sometimes the better fights aren't the title fights.
And that rule was put in place
by the satellite pay-per-view companies
that part of the deal was every numbered event
that were putting on pay-per-view
be headlined by a title fight.
That's why BMF worked
and that's why they brought it back
when he said it was going to be dead.
They brought it back in Utah
because they couldn't get another.
That's not the case anymore.
That's not a rule.
But they're still subscribing to that.
Okay, that is a signaling of a certain standard.
But yet the rest of the card doesn't quite live up to that standard.
It used to be a signaling.
Is Natalia Sova versus a title?
They're still stuck in those old days.
It's like when Dana talks about, you know, like cards that didn't live up to the hype, he brings up UFC 33.
Because those days meant something to him.
Like they resonated.
That's so far away it was.
Not so far away.
He talks about things like,
Forrest Griffin leaving the cage.
Like all of his references are from like
2002-1 to 2012.
And then the rest just seems to like dissipate.
It's a bizarre thing.
I feel like mine are becoming that because of the churn of this business.
Every time you mention this,
there's so many events coming,
taken fast.
There's an event a couple weeks ago,
I was texting the lad's going,
I don't know if I've actually ever heard these guys.
And then you go on off.
They actually fought the UFC twice already.
I don't have a fucker there.
I feel like my frame of references
is like 10 years old now at this stage
because it's just not as impactful as it once was
because of the amount of events.
Back to the fights, Wang Tong saying
that she was eye-poked in the main event
against Italy's seven.
Again, I didn't dislike that main event at all.
I had no problems with it.
It was essentially what I thought it was going to be.
It was a highly entertaining fight at chess match.
It went the distance.
Natalia's moving all over the place.
Wang was fun last week, too,
imitating her.
Anyway, here she is going on social media,
the aforementioned Wang Tong to say
that she was poked.
She says,
thank you for supporting my friends.
The game has lost.
What a pity.
I have some regrets.
Then because of the first game,
translation,
my eye was poked in the second half.
The line of sight is blocked,
and here's her eye.
I couldn't see.
Wait until later to the slowdown.
It's too slow to enter.
Where to fall, get up,
go back,
and summarize yourself.
Come on, try again.
Okay, not exactly 100% accurate,
but you get the point.
I don't remember seeing an eye poke.
Do you guys remember seeing that?
I think that might have been like more
like in the flow of the fight.
Yeah.
Who wins?
Natalia or Valentina?
DC said Valentina on Saturday.
No, I said Natalia.
You said now Italia?
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Okay, my bad.
Valencia.
Rick says Valentina.
Pizzi?
Valentina.
Close fight.
Yeah, I wonder.
Silver's really good.
Silver's really good.
She's really good.
And she was going to be the number one contender.
I wouldn't be shocked.
The clinches that Wong Tong forced
against the cage. If Valentina gets her there, it is bad for Natalia Silva. The moment that
Wong Tong jumped on the front foot, she was way more successful against Natalia. And if you let
Valentina have those opportunities, I think it looks like the Zhang Wei fight. I think it looks like
the better parts of the Manon-Fioro fight. I think it looks like the Alexa Grosso fight. When Valentina
is the aggressor and when she's mixing in the grappling and striking against somebody who just
wants to kind of kickbox, dangerous.
So, yeah, I'm pretty confident in Valentin on that one.
You guys said you all expected Payton Talbot to beat Davis and Figurato.
Maybe there are some tough questions for Figgy to now ask himself.
Talbot has arrived now back-to-back wins over former champions.
He calls out Sean O'Malley.
Shout out to our friend Andrew Feldman online, who reminded me that one of the first times I spoke
to Peyton, he always kind of hated the Sean O'Malley questions and comparisons.
And now here he is calling out Sean O'Malley.
Sean O'Malley went online and reacted to this because he insinuated Peyton did that he was ducking him.
Here's what Sean O'Malley had to say.
What's up, guys?
I'm here to fucking address these rumors that I got off from Peyton Talbot for the White House.
That is just absolutely bullshit.
Okay.
He also posted on his IG story the notion that, all right, here we go.
Four out of last seven fights have been against three of the greatest bantam weights of all time.
Ain't Duckin' No One.
And he mentions, well, I guess the four would be Marab, Marab, Aljo, Jan.
In the, I mean, also there's a Cheeto fight there.
There's a Song-e-Dong fight.
Obviously, that he won in January, Song looking great, and the aim and win.
Yeah, to me, like, I don't think anyone could say Sean.
I think early in his career, people thought that the UFC was trying to, like, get him favorable wins.
But he went in there, and he fought Yan.
super close win. Obviously the Marab fights didn't go his way, but the last couple fights, he was
tremendous in. So I don't think, look, here's the issue that Peyton's facing here. That title
fights in less than three weeks. If Jan wins, as we discussed on Saturday, they're going to
run it back with Sean, in my opinion. If Marab wins, he has a chance, meaning Peyton has a chance
to fight Sean. I don't see a scenario in which Jan wins and Payton gets Sean. I do see a scenario
Marab wins.
They're not going to do that one for the third time.
And maybe Peyton gets to Sean fight.
But honestly, guys, I don't know if I see it in either scenario.
Do you guys think he has a chance of getting him?
Peyton Talbot, Sean O'Malley.
I think he has a chance because of the fact that Sean O'Malley has acknowledged it, right?
If Sean O'Malley took the tact of like, I'm not interested in this shit,
don't talk to me, you know, get your skills up son and kind of like poo-pooted it and
dismissed him, I'd be less hopeful if I was Peyton Talbot.
But the fact that Sean seems to be engaging with him in the same way that he has in the past with some of his other foes,
I don't think it's impossible.
I don't think it's impossible.
Unlakely, but not impossible.
Sean O'Malley laughed off the idea of Amunds a hobby like a year ago, and then they ended up fighting on the White House card.
So if it ends up being Marado O'Svili getting his belt back, I would imagine that that's going to be a fight that the UFC would look at.
Who wins that one?
That's a great fight.
That's a main event.
No title on the line?
title.
That's a main event.
Yeah, it's hard to pick Peyton at this point
just based on the level of opposition
versus what Sean...
You look at that resume.
There is nothing ducking.
Like, his ducking accusation is coming from
he claims that Sean O'Malley was offered
that fight at the White House and that he opted
for Amin Zahabi. Sean O'Malley said
no. You look at those
names on there. There ain't an easy
one amongst them. And so...
You like how he puts the first fight with Marabas
a win.
I was wondering about that
I missed that that's incredible
But yeah
What are these just making a fight
Song you're done
What's that?
Oh I love that fight
Oh Peyton's song
Oh I love that fight
I'm so down
I love that fight
I can actually
Wait for all this bullshit to happen
I guess you know what
Though I felt
Fairly strongly that he was gonna win
Going into Saturday night
To your point
It does now cement like
You have to give him a big matchup now
You have to give him a top of guys
100%
You beat you'd be
Tehudo, you beat Figgi.
I love the song fight.
And it does definitely seem like Payton
after that stumble last summer, two summers
ago, has definitely entered
that conversation.
Roberto Solditch. Just one more thing.
The problem is, according
to the rankings, at least, song
is ahead of O'Malley.
I mean, he just beat O'Ma. Oh, yeah,
that's dumb because, I mean. It makes no sense.
So, beat him earlier. Let's just
leave this segment down from now on with the Lema.
Mr. I hate the rankings.
All right, Roberto Solditch.
Looked a little dicey there,
Pita.
You've been watching him for a long time.
A little stiff was getting knocked a little bit
by Chaos Williams,
who had said famously before the fight,
he had never heard of him.
But then old Robocop showed up
and a pretty solid win for him.
How would you grade it?
Yeah, I mean, I think I learned a lot more.
I saw some stuff that I wanted to see in this fight
in terms of him, you know,
eating some solids off chaos early on in that first round.
I think he really was vintage.
the second round.
He started putting combinations together from that South boss stance.
I thought that was a tricky fight for him.
Honestly, when you think about how we went into one,
you think about the type of fighter that chaos is.
I thought there was lots of problems.
Me and GC were talking about it last week.
Solid kind of,
he lends himself to exciting fights.
He'll stand in the pocket with guys like this.
I thought it was a really, really solid showing.
I'm very excited to see what they do with him next.
And he looked really, really good.
I think this, from my point of view, these are the kind of things I wanted to see.
If he came in and he just dusted chaos, of course there'd be more fanfare.
There'd be more like, oh my God, this guy's going to change the vision.
But for me, that was really, really promising what he did on Saturday.
And I think he looks very close to the strongest version of Solich, which I think we were all kind of wondering what it would be like post one championship.
Really, really promising.
I was getting a little nervous there at the beginning.
In that first round, I was like, oh, my God.
God, this is a nightmare for Solditch.
But he ended up figuring it out.
I do wonder, like, you slow roll him?
Or do you just kind of figure?
Do you know what I mean?
Like, I don't think he, right?
I think from his point of view, he probably doesn't want to be slow roll, right?
Like, he probably wants to go.
Like, do you give him a Kevin, so Daniel Rodriguez is 15, Kevin Holland is 14, he could go up against one.
I'll stop you there.
I'll stop you there.
Just make the Sherer Bullet fight.
Make the Sharra Bullet fight.
Share Bullet has a fight.
We have Sharra Bullet.
Yeah, no.
Beyond that, make, make the fight.
What do you mean?
He has a fight.
He has a fight coming up in November.
And then when he fights, make this fight after it.
Okay?
Don't, like, I don't, I don't think we should be in a rush to throw solvich into the top of this division.
I'd say let him have a few fights where he can showcase a skill set.
And let's see what happens from there.
I thought you were going to then ask me who's he fighting, but I guess you don't care.
Go on, who is he going to find?
No.
No.
I don't know.
No.
I won't be able to sleep tonight if you don't tell me.
No.
Listen.
Who is it?
No, no.
Big asked you.
He's the EP.
You need to ask him.
Former champion.
So many days the history.
I know.
James Tihuno?
Definitely not him.
And definitely not King Green,
who lost Esteban Rivich.
A lot of people saying this was an early stoppage,
including King Green,
I didn't think so.
I thought it was a late stoppage.
Yeah.
I don't know what they're talking about.
He got like cartoon knocked down three times.
The whole,
the whole week for King Green was weird in that
he's like full on streamer now
right? Oh yeah. It's like the fight is
over and he's doing the walking around town thing
with Rampage and Arnold Barbosa.
Him and Arnold Barbosa. Where did this come from?
There's got to be big checks getting
Oh, 100%. That's all that I can
Rampage in his corner was weird too.
You just never see Rampage doing that anymore.
Yeah, I thought
I thought Estabon won that fight fair and square.
There's a lot you could say about
Mr. Herb Dean these days.
He's not having a good year.
as Dana White noted, that wasn't one of his big blunders.
Totally agree.
Good stoppage.
I definitely feel that Herb Dean should take some time off.
And we talked about this last week.
He needs to take some time off.
At the very least, don't put him in high-profile fights.
But it just seems like the indecisiveness, the, you're not sure if you should come in,
you come out, you should stop it, you should not stop it, the mistakes with the knee and all that.
Like, it's sometimes people just need a reset.
And these guys are flying all over the country, all over the world at times.
I know they're primarily fighting or excuse me, working on the weekends.
They're not getting paid that much.
They're doing seminars during the week.
They run schools.
I think he needs some time off.
And yes, I know there isn't a massive pool of people to pick from.
But there are enough.
And quite frankly, I'd rather someone else get a chance than someone who continuously makes
a mistake.
In fact, Dana White was asked about that.
Dana has been like one of his biggest defenders over the years.
He has continuously said he's the best.
in the business. That tone changed on Saturday. Take a listen.
What did you think of the stoppage in the King Green, Esteban Riebovich?
Bobby's already went live, very mad at Herb Dean for the stoppage.
Herb's having a rough fucking year.
Yes.
Yeah, I, listen.
Why is that so funny?
You know, Bobby was laying there going, you know, but he got dropped like three times in a row.
So I've seen worse stoppages.
Bobby did go online, or King went online to react.
it after the fact here's what he had to say wow oh wow shish man great fight shit
I told myself regardless or not I'm not gonna be mad at myself but I'm a little mad
I told Herb this is gonna get sticky let me go on my shield I was still fine I want to still
still to keep fighting. I felt like we're getting somewhere,
but it was a great fight. Shout out to
everybody that supported,
everybody that was cheering me on.
I love you guys. I'm fine.
I'm great. I feel like I want to fight next
fucking week. You know what I mean?
And so thank you so much for the support.
I love you guys, and I will be back
very soon.
So he's not making the hugest stink of it all,
but I just didn't think it was a...
And I have a ton of respect for him.
What an unbelievable career.
this third or second moment in his career is amazing to see who would have thought.
Is he the last strike force fighter left?
He might just be, which is crazy in its own right.
I didn't think that that was an egregious stoppage.
I mean, I can't even believe we're discussing it as an early stoppage.
I'm rewatching it again right now.
Yeah.
Yes, that fight needed to be stopped.
Can't believe Roman Coppilov beat Atibu Gautier.
Crazy.
I still can't believe that.
What's that face, PT?
I said last week,
this has a big chance of going very wrong for a team.
Why do you feel that way?
You need to make your highlight real from last week.
Copilov.
Copilov was an unbelievable boxer.
Before he came to M.A.
He was a master of sport in Russia.
He was fight nights global champion.
And he really, like, never has shown the potential.
He's never realized a potential base he thought he had coming into this fight.
But when you have a guy like Atiba, who was a beast, who was a brute, who comes in swinging hard against a guy with really sophisticated hands, this kind of shit can happen.
I didn't expect him to knock him out in the first round.
But I definitely could see him winning by decision.
Atiba keep coming on.
He keeps picking him apart.
Fraud check?
Yeah, I thought.
No.
He's only 24.
Like what Rick said on the post for show was, was, yeah.
He is, he can do great things.
He has a great team around him with Carl Prince there, Manchester top team.
I think he will have a lot of success.
And honestly, not the world,
I'm not going to say best case scenario here, Rick,
but not the worst thing in the world to happen to him.
And you know what I just realized?
Tell me.
I keep forgetting that Roberto Solich is actually a wealth away again,
so he probably shouldn't for a shower bullet.
Oh, yeah.
Yeah, I was reading you, Kevin Holland and them,
and then you were giving me middle-way.
I just dismissed, yeah, I just absolutely shout out of him.
A shower bullet booked against.
I told you.
Former champ?
Oh, just.
Who is he booked against, seriously?
Former Chan.
Yeah.
Who is it?
I don't break news anymore.
I'm sorry, I don't break news, guys.
I don't deal in that type of currency anymore.
Well, copy love should fight you out for yourself, all right?
That's the point I should have made.
All right, Marcel, figure it out for yourself, all right?
I gave it to you, all right?
I do have to point out, Pizzi.
You didn't pick copy love in the Young Crown predictions.
Well, you know, I'm trying to get some points.
You know who did, though?
Yeah, me bringing up the rear.
Wow.
He picked Williams, Bobby Green, Figuero, and Wang Tong.
I picked every underdog.
I'm just trying to make up some ground at this point.
Yo, not bad. Not a bad...
No, I went one in five.
Okay, sorry.
A bit of a mayor, a bit of a week for Atiba Goteer.
Here he is at the pre-fight presser trying to speak to the crowd,
and they didn't help him out.
No translate.
No translation.
watchbook, so let's be for it.
I was like, just like more professional experience than me.
Question for Dana White.
We got fucked out of that one.
We don't have a translator here for him.
Sorry.
Should have called me.
Wait, but am I crazy?
The second one was English, no?
A thousand percent.
More professional experience than me.
The first one was French.
Yeah.
He speaks English.
He spoke English.
Well, he's been on the show multiple times speaking English.
So I don't know what that was all about.
but the first one was just like a message to his French fans.
But I think Dana thought that the second...
The second...
He thought the entire thing was in French.
He was...
Give me a fucking break.
Where's the translator at?
Yeah, so maybe the mayor was more for Dana and more on that to come than Atiba.
But Atiba will be back.
He's a stud and very, very, very high ceiling.
But shout out to Roman Coppilov.
Even in the post-flight interview, he said, I didn't expect to do this.
So Pizzi expected it, but Roman himself said he...
No, no.
said for, sorry, sorry that, you know what I mean,
I can see these things better than you are.
You know, don't take personal offense to it, okay?
Don't take offense to it.
Staff picks don't reflect that, though.
Sorry, man, you didn't put your staff picks
reputation on the line, bro.
There is.
I see you did.
What about, uh, you're down there in the basement with me, huh?
Yeah.
No, I mean, I could take a whole card off and still be out of you,
mate.
I mean, I don't know what happened.
I was in first most of the last year.
You're the guy.
Who's that guy who makes a game?
Drake shattered him.
Drake, shatter them. Drake rigs, when he won the championship,
he just destroyed.
I'm all, bro.
Are you going to talk about how I'm first or nobody cares?
We don't look that high, bro.
Also, I see second.
We're judging you at the end of the year, right?
We're going to judge you at the end of the year.
After this card, I'll be back in first again.
Shout out to the young undefeated Mexican fighter Immanuel Rodriguez,
who had a big win and had a great moment with the D.C. as coach afterwards.
That teep to the body there was something else.
Look at that.
Great shot there.
Another exciting guy at 125, man.
Yes.
Love this division.
Big hug to his coach DC, shouting him out.
That was great stuff.
Big win for him.
Damian Pinas with another great win.
Pinas.
Pinas, yes.
Pinas.
This dude is terrifying.
What were you saying?
That I was like emphasizing.
It's just a tricky one.
It's just a tricky one.
Pinas.
Yeah.
Not to be confused with.
Oh, stop.
I just like to call him the Baba Yaga, you know?
Yes, what I do.
I mean.
That is a sick nickname.
It is a sick nickname.
What does it mean?
It completely puts people out.
What does it mean?
It's like the boogeyman.
It's in lore like it's the boogeyman.
Oh, okay.
In certain Eastern European countries.
He is the pride of serename.
So taking the baton from Jarzino Rosenstrike.
Marcus McGee got a late week replacement, Anthony Romero.
He disposed of him in essentially, you know, around four minutes and 58 seconds,
so two seconds to spare.
He knocked him out in the first round.
As we said, Anthony Wint, 23-second knockout of Lucas Armand.
What a run for him, and he'll be joining us in about six minutes time.
What about your boy, Johnny Walker, the Pride of Ireland, getting the big first-round win, Pizzi, as a heavyweight against Big Parking.
By the way, a bit of a scary knockout.
I think I'm still not over the, look at that airtime.
I'm still not over the Barcello's knockout because Parkin was convulsive.
Geez, look at that picture right there.
That was scary stuff.
But Johnny Walker, are we buying or selling the Worm Master Johnny Walker's run as a heavyweight?
Is this a big deal to us or is this, uh, is this, uh, is this, uh, not much to write home.
I'll defer to Rick on this one.
Okay, please.
I'm going to buy.
You're buying.
Because heavyweight sucks.
Yeah.
And anybody who can throw hands is going to have a chance to do very well.
Heavyweight expert, New York, Rick.
Found a book Walker Walker Walker.
Walker.
No.
Do it.
They teased it.
Didn't they do it in like...
No, no, they teased it.
They teased it, right?
They kept trying to say.
It would be just one line on his back,
the other one just doing backflips.
PT, were they dancing in the streets of Dublin when he picked up the win?
Look, it was crazy.
It was locked the doors.
People were just rampage and drew the streets.
I can't believe he's back.
They were saying.
I was like, listen, I never gave him hope.
That's right.
One of your own.
I mean, it is the way you'd think he'd win, though, right?
If you're Mick Park and his coach is like, watch out,
this guy will throw his whole body through the air on multiple occasions.
And unfortunately, that's what happened for poor Mickey, who had a big layoff.
So, yeah, very well done to Johnny.
Another hard hitter, Jacoby Smith, with a big time win over Bruce Whitehead.
I mean, it was knockout, like, Bruce Whitehead, UFC fighter?
Maybe.
Maybe not.
Let's get Jacoby Smith a really solid test.
Yeah.
Time to move him up the ladder.
Alex Hernandez had a few things to say in the aftermath of his win,
saying that he has paid his dues or just pay me,
I want to be in a main event.
I want to be on the damn poster
and he defeated RDA.
That was a big time win for him.
Obviously RDA getting up there in age
hadn't fought in two years,
but a former champion.
We like Alex Hernandez around these parts.
His interview last week was very, very, very entertaining
and enlightening as well
after what he had been through
prior to the Michael Johnson fight.
Ishmael Nardiev beat Marvin Vittori.
Vittori getting another crack in the UFC.
I think we can call it five losses in a row now.
Yeah.
Just to Rick's point earlier,
is he, like, would you consider
like a Votauri
and middle class kind of situation there, Rick?
Like, which could potentially...
Yeah, I don't know what his latest contract is,
but yeah, he seems like the type of guy
that you might say, is it worth this?
Now, you do need people to be on the other side
of some of these wins,
so it's hard to say,
but, I mean, Taitui Vasa is on a crazy skid.
Like, Marvin Vittori's not even there yet.
I don't know.
Is that the line?
Do we all need to get there?
Do we all need to get to the eight, nine losses?
in a row. I don't personally
but there's precedent.
Shout to the Italian dream. If I say anything
here, I'll get like nine tweets from Marvin
to me calling me a dickhead, so I'm just
going to sit this one out. It's been a long-standing
feud between us. You're not bizarre reasons.
Don't let them get there.
But I wish I had a gig where I, you know,
didn't succeed that many times and still got paid, you know?
Eric Nolan beat Court McGee.
Eric Nolan beat Court McGee
in the in the in the in the current jerker right I'm not going to say anything what
I thought it was really nice what they did with court McGee I thought it was really nice
I love that they do that I love that they do that I know people get all up in arms
over oh did they do it for this guy did they do it for that guy who gives a shit they did it
for him he was in his home state he he's had an incredible you know career turnaround
life turnaround didn't get the win over Eric Nolan
So tough to go out like that, getting stopped in the third round.
But I don't know, there's those guys that, again, are near and dear to deane his heart as far as, you know, the early days of tough.
I think he was tough 13, if my memory serves me correct.
But I love the fact that they did that for him.
I really did.
And he's just a great dude.
Perhaps late in the week we'll have a chat with him because he has done things the right way throughout his career after going through some really, really, really, really tough.
of times. Also on Saturday, by the way, Ben Whitaker getting the win over Connor Wallace,
but it was a little dicey there. And we'll talk more about that later on in the program.
But he did get the win. He is, you know, the mandatory now because it was an IBF final
eliminator for Dimitri Bivel, who is fighting Kalm-Smith. So for that belt. But there's a lot of
people who think he's not ready for that, who don't think that he should be fighting the likes of
Dimitri Bivel at this juncture after that performance.
He was basically looking great for nine rounds,
and then 10th got rocked,
and then 11th was hanging on.
I don't think we have enough time to go through the highlights here.
The last glimpses weren't good, right?
Like the last images of the fight weren't good for him.
Yeah, this was great early on.
Crowd wasn't great either.
Crowd wasn't great?
Like, I mean, they were into it with the people that were there,
but I don't think it was...
This was supposed to be a hometown crowd.
What'd you think?
Oh, I don't know.
I just think people were abhorning him in the aftermath from what I saw in his post-foyed interview.
And it's kind of like, I mean, you're selling it.
This is when I started to get dicey pizza.
And I was like, oh, my God, is it Liam Cameron all over again?
And here's like a bit of a takedown.
He seemed a little bit rock.
10-11.
Did you hear a post-foot interview?
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
And then Eddie's saying, maybe we should run it back.
I'm like, no.
I agree with Eddie.
I actually agree with it.
Yes, but that's not the story that I think.
think you should be selling in that moment.
But maybe he's just being brutally honest.
You could see a disagreement up there, right?
You can see Ben being like...
What's going on there between the two of them?
I mean, I hear you're getting the blame for that one.
I got the blame for that.
I got the blame.
How was that your fault?
Ben Whitaker said all this shit.
Like, you were just there.
I mean...
Trust me.
I know.
Let's get into that on the back end because I do think our next guest is here.
Is he here?
All right.
In a matter of moments,
We're going to be joined by Anthony Wint, who had a phenomenal win. Look at this run. Look at this run for Anthony Wint in the year 2026. Four wins now and his third over the course of the past three months. He had a 34 second knockout on August 11th, a four minute and 29 second submission win, August 22nd, which was his UFC debut in Sacramento. And then on October 3rd, this past Saturday, gets a 23 second second.
knockout. Amazingly, still no post-fight bonus for Anthony Wint, but he is on some kind of role.
What a start to his UFC career. Now 9-0 as a pro. He's kind enough to join us right here now
to talk about the big win on Saturday. There he is. Hello, Anthony. How are you?
What's going on? Ariel, it's so good to see you again. It's a pleasure. We bow down to you,
my friend. That is your nickname for another great win for you. 23 seconds. When you get a 23-second
win, like, you feel like you still have to get some out, you know, of your system there
because it happens so quickly, or is the adrenaline so high that you don't mind the in
and out of the cage?
Usually, not until my coach is this, I'm going to use my words carefully.
I say, I feel like a crack hit.
No offense to anybody who suffered with drug abuse.
But you're right, man.
I've had, what, five wins that end in under 40 seconds.
And I train so hard, man, we conditioned a lot.
Man, I got a great team behind me.
And it's like I got more to put out there.
I kind of already knew that going into this fight.
Obviously, I want to give my opponent as much as I can give them, make them as good as I can be.
But I knew going to that fight that Lucas didn't have anything for me.
It was just me deciding, hey, once I start punching, I'm not going to stop.
And we saw the result.
How did you know he didn't have anything for you?
This film study.
Yeah.
He obviously was undefeated.
He'd be a lot of guys, but he's never fought anybody like me.
I will say, and I told his coachers afterwards, he came to fight.
You know, he took two steps backwards, but he was the first one.
to punch. If I was in my part with a cake first part, it kept me at a distance. And that's why
it's going to be hard for guys without the capabilities and the experience to beat me, because I studied
too well. I kind of already know how to beat myself. And I think there's a game plan for everyone. And as I
look at the game plan for me, I'd make sure I work on those attributes more than anything.
So when you think that you're going to take advantage of this or take advantage of that,
maybe my in experience, my explosiveness, my lack of cardio, that's what we spend majority of our
times in the lab working on. So I'm excited to, as I said, a bunch of interviews to start working
my way up the ranks and start to get tested a little bit more, which is a weird thing to say.
When you say you know how to beat yourself, like you're saying like you're aware of what
your faults are, what your weaknesses are, you're obviously not going to tell people this,
but you know what the game plan would be to beat you at this point. Yeah, and I think it's obvious.
It's not like I have to tell them. Anybody with a decent coach, anybody who knows martial arts or just
warfare in general knows that a person can't have anything.
There's very few martial artists to ever live that's like, okay, you can't beat this guy
unless he's having a bad day.
And in my opinion, John Jones is one of those dudes.
And he is almost crazy.
He would say him himself.
He would have to go out and drink and do drugs.
And obviously, it's not making him look bad, but it's what he would say because
it'll be so easy for him.
I'm not gifted like John Jones.
I don't have all the attributes he has.
I'm limited in some areas.
but I'm also knowing that I'm living in those areas.
I make sure I work on those areas.
I make sure that when my opponent comes to try to take advantage me in those places,
the road is closed and has to go no direction.
Are you having fun yet?
Are you loving this yet?
You got to love it after a win like that.
I'm trying to clarify as much as possible.
I love competing.
I'm a competitor at heart.
I love getting in there and going to get somebody and testing myself
and obviously honoring my coaches,
making sure that the team knows that I value this sport.
I respect the sport of mixed martial arts.
And I had a good conversation with DC and the commentary team.
And he was more so saying, like, if you don't love this, you don't get to a place where
you're going against a guy who does love it and he's, you know, for lack of a bad
tournament, he's going to make you feel like you need to love it.
And I love competing.
I love leaning on God.
I love pulling the most out of myself.
But as I look at mixed martial arts as a whole, as I look at trying to cheat something
great as a whole, as I look at the cost of being a world champion, in the grand scheme,
it's not worth it.
You know, the fans won't love you forever as much as they think.
think they do. The people won't remember you forever. Your name will be forgotten. And the only thing
that matters, and I'm speaking to everyone in the world who values this position I'm in, who would love to be
9-0 in the UFC, you know, maybe God will them fighting on a Master Square card and card with so many fans.
The only person that's going to ever going to care about you is God. And after that, your wife or
husband, if you have one, your children are going to bear your name and carry on your legacy. And they're
going to be a very select people, group of people who, when you die, they're going to mourn for a very long time.
Everyone else, when you die, they're going to have their fish fry.
They're going to have great conversations.
They're going to talk about how good you were.
And they're going to continue with their live because that's what the world does.
And I'm not putting any shame onto the world, but life goes on.
And me trying to achieve something like being in the UFC, I will have fans.
I got, what, 40,000 some followers right now.
Maybe it'll go up if I get a couple wins, but those guys won't care about me when I'm going.
So I don't love the ideal of being this celebrity because it's not real.
It's a facade.
And most people don't know me.
God knows me.
He knows me naked.
He knows me afraid.
And he fully loves me, even though I'm very flawed.
Ultimately, do you think your calling is something involving religion and God and Bible?
So do you feel like that's ultimately what your legacy is going to be, what you will be known for?
I believe so.
I think it would be that even if I wasn't fighting.
The Bible says to acknowledge God in all your ways.
You'll make your path straight.
I've been quoting that all day.
But it also says that, and all you do, work diligently and with actually.
excellence as if you're working on to God and not on to man. So if I was a plumber, I'll be
honoring God, you know, cleaning toilets. If I was a teacher, I'll be talking to those little
ones and maybe the school system because we took out the church that's not allowed me to
quote scripture or allow me to say the name of Christ, I'll be the light in those children
eyes. It's by the way I walk, singer, singer, you know, doing media like you're doing. If you have
relationship with God and God's turning your life around, it's your job in whatever career
field that you are in to fight so that people know that they have hope, that they have a chance,
that they have a savior who already did the work, and you just got to believe. I don't have to
perform for God. I don't go on that stage and do anything for God. I just walk in the path that
God say, hey, if I go before you, what man can stand against you? And I get to be the living
testimony of fighting battles, taking down giants, tearing down principalities like the gambling
system and addiction and lust and greed and, you know, just self-indulging, the idolatry. I get to
walk in those fields. And I like to say I've been saying all the time is I get to show the fans what
they want, but I don't have to tell them what they want. If I go out there and knock somebody out,
it doesn't matter what I say. And God, people don't want to hear Jesus. Some people do. Some people
don't. But to answer you a question, yes, that is my calling. And to break the news, that's something I do,
not so much on the side, but that's what I walk into. I have a great church and Kendall Church of God
who's building me up as a leader, as a man, as a future father and husband. And I've been
walking this path of getting my credentials as a minister for the last year. And that's been a lot
harder than fighting from being honest, because I can't perform for God. I have to actually read the word.
I have to actually make time to pray. I have to actually make time to build relationship with my
Lord and Savior. He is a lot tougher than my coach. He sharpens me both on both sides. So as I try
to mention other people, he's like, hey, when you haven't you haven't sold the school with me in that
area. You haven't built yourself there. So how dare you judge somebody else? So I'm excited.
How long does that take to become a minister?
Personally, the program I'm in, my church is a non-crete credential, a non-crete church.
So we're not non-denomination, we don't follow the nomination.
We're with the Wesleyan, a holiness movement.
And from my understanding, it takes three years.
I'm in the first year.
And like I said, it's super tough because I didn't grow up in the church.
And I can't finesse it like I did in college.
So there's three, there's six sectors.
I'm in the third course, and yeah, I start back.
I want to say the eighth of this month.
So getting back into the fight.
Can I throw out a theory and you tell me if I'm right or wrong?
Okay.
I actually believe you do love it and I believe you're enjoying this and this is all very exciting.
But I think because you're rooted in faith and because you do believe in God and because you do love that as well, you're saying this to us and you mean every word.
of it. I'm not suggesting that you don't, but it's also for you not to buy into everything that's
happening around you, all the love being thrown your way, all the admiration, all the hype and
stuff like that. You are trying to ground yourself and not allow your head to get bigger to believe
that you are bigger than anyone, bigger than anything. And so this is a constant reminder to us,
but also to yourself, to not fall for these traps and tricks. Is that possible?
Ariel, you are very smart, man. I see why they pay you to big bucks, because you're exactly right.
I love competing, but I also understand that this section, this season of life that I meant, is very short, just like football is very short, even though I did it for 20-on-some years.
And I also believe the Bible says, Christ himself, my done, my Lord and Savior, he says to his disciples, if you do not hate your mother and your father, you cannot be my disciple.
And that, you hear that.
And that's in the Bible, you can look it enough.
I'm not that good to be able to quote it the scripture.
but what he says is the actual translation is love less.
So I love fighting a lot less than I love God.
I love fighting a lot less than I love reading my word and being with my brothers and
sisters in my church.
I love fighting a lot less than I love just being in the presence and that defeat of Christ,
but I also love my mother a lot less.
I can't.
If my mother, if my mother was the reason that I fought, I would have been quit.
If my future, and this is something I had to battle with in this journey because this
was the turning point.
When I first started fighting, I was single.
I'm still single.
I didn't have children.
I still don't have children.
I was broke.
I'm getting a little bit of money now.
Hopefully we get into that second contract.
And Dana makes your boy happy.
But I didn't have all these things.
And Bible says in Matthew 633,
seek first the kingdom of God and all these things to be added.
And I value the addition.
So now I'm in a place where I'm super dangerous because I don't care about the addition.
I know the wife is going to come at some point.
The money has already come.
The stability, the peace.
But the world didn't give me this peace.
fighting and give me this peace.
My wife cannot give me that peace.
She can add on to it.
When we become one, we become peace with each other.
But God, I can be content and whole with God alone.
So I literally hate everything else.
I hate all the distraction.
There's times where, let me say that correctly,
where I have to tell my mother,
just like Christ had to tell his mother when he did his first miracle of
turning water or wine,
Mom, it's not time.
That's not why I need to be focused on.
And I got to redirect myself,
even though with someone I should honor and pray,
So I try to keep my mind on God.
And if God doesn't tell me to go, I can't go.
As much as I want to fight a Master Square Garden,
if God's like, hey, Wint, that's not the time.
I'm extremely happy without fighting there.
If God tells me tomorrow, that's something I had to get on path with my coach.
If God says, hey, Went, I know you're not, I know.
If I get the 13th in there, I'm about to fight for a title,
and God says, hey, Wint, you're done, I'm done.
So when I say I don't love fighting,
everything takes a back seat to what God says.
And I have to talk to my father before we say, hey, what's next?
Where are we doing next?
What's the next step?
And that's an approach not many fighters taking, even fighters that believe and are saved by Christ, have a Christian relationship.
They might not necessarily take that step.
And I'm boldly saying, I don't care by anything else.
It's where the Lord takes me.
How do you feel if a kid comes up to you and says, you're my role model?
I look up to you.
I want to be you.
That's a hard pill to swallow, man, because pride is so.
is directly from the devil.
So I try not be prideful.
I try not to,
my pastor says people are going to want to crown you all the time.
It's your job.
To humble yourself and take that crown off.
So when I knock out a man in 20, 30, 40 seconds,
there's a lot of people like, man, you're the best to ever do it.
You're going to be a world champion.
All those things may be true, God willing.
But I'm just a man.
I'm just a vessel.
So that child, I'll obviously,
I think you've got to meet people where they are.
I'll, you know, do the dance with him.
Do the smoking mirrors, take the pictures, talk to him as much as possible.
But as I grow a relationship with him, because that's the important part, there's plenty of
celebrities that I met growing up.
There's plenty of autographs I got as a kid.
There's plenty of big-name people who maybe my mother thought was the best thing ever or
they came to a community and talked to us where I was super excited as a kid.
But as I grew in maturity, I started to realize that those people were flawed as well.
So I'm not going to give that statement to a kid.
I don't need to break that down to a five-year-old.
I'm going to play the game with him and I'm going to let them know like, hey, man, it's good to see you and I'm glad you're doing well and eat your vegetables and eat your vegetables and eat your vegetables and eat your mom and dad, which is the things that they should do regardless.
I'm going to use that opportunity to build them up.
But let's say I meet that same seven-year-old when he's 27 and I'm still his role model and he hasn't found Christ or he doesn't honor his father or he hasn't built a relationship with real men around him who got to walk with him.
That's when we have that conversation of, bro, you know, fighting is in everything.
you are not you're not built to be the next MMA star you shouldn't look up to me because one day
I'm going to die and if you look up to me you're going to be looking to nowhere because I'm not
going to be here but you should look at the path that I walked the journey I faced the the trials
I went through and what I used to get through it because if you go on your own merit if you go on
your own accord if you try to use your own strength you're going to fall and there's going to be
no one to catch you because all men are flawed and no one has the answer so all well
good when you're winning and you're knocking people out. What do you think happens if you lose
one, lose two? How do you think this will all play out? Do you think about that?
The Bible says when you're weak, the Lord is strong. I'm already walking in victory.
When I say I don't love fighting, I almost say I can care less about the belt because it's
going to be a great feeling to bring that belt back to Kill Cliff. It's going to be a great
feeling to go to my coach Dieter Navarra and put down around his waist because he put a lot of time
in. It's going to be a great feeling to be able to honor my mom and dad and my community,
Florida City, Florida, where it's not a lot of great things that come out of here.
And if it is great, it's usually a football player because we do got a lot of stuff that come out of here.
To go back and say, hey, this is someone who was bred amongst you and was able to achieve something great.
But I took my coach all the time, I tell my teammate in Pucasanga all the time, man, I'm inspired by what guys going to do if and really when I ever take an L.
Because I would love to be like Kabe or Floyd Mayweather and go 30 and 50 and no and be undefeated and just be to
flawless guy who never lost for the rest of my life.
But that's not reality.
That's a fairytale.
You're going to lose.
I've lost within the journey of being 9-0, 12 fights including amateurs.
I've taken so many elves.
I've done so many things wrong.
And through the grace of God, God allowed me to be flawless in my MMA career.
Flawless.
But one day, I'm going to sit there.
The referee's going to hold my hand.
Whether it's a split, I get knocked out, I get submitted.
I'm going to fall short.
And just like I take that sword every time.
that same sword, top it down, and I'm going to kneel to God because, God, you still kept me.
You kept me alive.
You kept me healthy.
You kept money in my pocket.
And you allowed me to lose, but to learn and to be able to grow.
And I can't leave this game.
I don't care how many towers I win, God willing, how many weight classes I win, I cannot
leave until I lose because I know God will be the closest to me when I'm broken, when I feel weak.
When there's nobody who understands me except for God, that's when I will see that.
the exes of what it means to be a disciple of Christ,
to follow the man of sorrow,
to really walk down this path along suffering
and only, only by the grace of God,
be able to lean on his son,
because that's the only one who understands me.
No one else in this world understands me,
and I can't wait to lose,
because then I will gain everything I need.
Did you forge a sword in Utah?
And regardless of that, I think you did,
what is your love for swords all about?
Where does this come from?
I see one behind you there.
I've seen you pose with it.
There you are.
Doing the damn thing with the sword.
That is impressive.
Where does this come from?
So just going back on how it happened,
I'm there early for Utah,
obviously trying to get used to the acclamation,
even though it only took 23 seconds
and we wasted a bunch of time.
But shout out to Osfer out in Miami.
He had a recovery place, PRS.
And they got me extremely right for this fight.
I felt my best.
They have a H-Bot, so a hyperbaric chamber.
With that, we did a lot of other stuff to prepare and get ready.
But I was out there in Utah early, embedded, hit me up.
They were like, hey, you do anything, you want to get anything done?
And I had nothing planned.
And my teammate input song, and I threw the grace of God, he looks some things up.
He knows my brand.
He understands the directs I want to go in.
And most importantly, he's a Christian just like I am.
And he understands the symbolism behind a sword.
And just to breaking down in Ephesians 6, the Bible talks about the helmet of salvation,
which secures my mind.
So when I go in there throwing bombs like I did, I'm not afraid to get knocked out, let alone die.
Because when I die, I'll be resurrected with my Lord waiting for the day where the saints are united in the air.
The belt of truth, no matter who lies to me or what the devil says to me before the fight,
I know that God is the truth and he's not going to put these evil thoughts in my head.
The seal the faith, which I take into battle.
And when I one day get rocked, I'm sitting on the stool, I've already told my commanding chief, my coach, and Nipagascar and I, hey, we don't go to a decision.
We don't wait for the judges to decide our faith.
I'm going to down my shield.
The shoes of the gospel of peace.
And I'm missing one, but it's all right.
The sword of the spirit.
So I take that spirit in the battle.
And we went to Watash Forge.
They helped me for the sword.
I bet it got it.
But the symbolism behind it is,
The sword is the sort of depicting the spirit I have for God.
And I don't care about chopping the head of my enemy,
which God will continue to put heads on these spiritual walls of things we've taken down.
But I've been able to take down lust, fornication, addiction, gambling.
Like, just wicked thoughts.
I've been able to chop down all those strongholds down in myself,
but I'm looking at my family.
Those who don't walk with God, I'm walking around with that sword,
the word of God, the spirit of God, and saying, hey, if you're a demon,
you walk past me, you're a principality.
If you've got some type of evil essence around you, just know I keep it on me.
Just know I keep it on me.
And the sword is the depiction of the word of God as well, man.
So you've got to continue to sharpen it.
Just like as a fighter, if I go out there against my next opponent, sloppy like I was,
even though, you know, everything is calculated.
If I go out there as the same version of Anthony went and that short isn't a little bit sharper,
best believe he has one too, and whatever he believes in, and he can cut me.
But I think my sword is bigger, stronger, faster, and sharper than anybody's sword in the division.
Speaking of that next opponent, what are the chances in your opinion that it's Sean Sharaf, who you mentioned on Saturday?
I have no clue.
I haven't talked to my agent yet.
Obviously, I put it out there.
Between me and you, I had a conversation with him beforehand, having to conversation with my coach beforehand.
They were all good with it.
You had a conversation beforehand with Sean or with your agent?
No, with my agent.
My agent and my coach.
Just making sure they were good with the call out.
On paper, it makes sense.
As far as like, you know, we can go.
the ends and answer why it's a good fight um style licksie wise i think it's a step up
sean's better than the guys i fought before obviously he has a win he has experience um but it's
all on sean sean i watch the jo rogan podcast funny enough because i don't watch a whole lot of
things and i saw that portion when he talked about retiring and that would be the smartest thing
for him to do not saying anything against sean but i don't think i honestly don't think he could be
a world champion there's nothing against him it takes it's going to take a lot for me to be a world champion
So I think I have a little bit more than Sean,
but him being Gable Stevenson is
almost unfathomable.
I got to train with him back in,
when I, after I've won my contendent series,
I was helping him prep for Gable in a sense.
Obviously, I got a good amount of wrestling.
And I told him, like, hey, if I was Gable,
I wouldn't go out there and wrestle you.
I would go out there and try to take your head off,
try to knock you out because Gable,
just like me against Lucas,
I know I could wrestle with Lucas.
Lucas' wrestling is a lot worse than Striking,
and his striking wasn't that good.
But that does it add a notch to my belt.
I went out there and submitted Terrence Chapman,
who, you know, a little bit of a different game play.
He's a different fighter.
But I want to get that knockout.
Like you said, I want to get that $100K.
Too bad Walker and whoever else, they knock their dude by cold.
How do you not get $100K?
You didn't get the $25, right?
You got the $25, not the $100,000.
Thanks for putting my money out there in the aerial.
No, no.
But Dana mentions this.
This is known.
I'll best it with you.
All right, all right.
But I want to be a lot.
able to get that 100k. So I'm going for the knockout all the time. And I think it makes better
marketing when you put somebody in their face. So I know I'm going around all different type of
conversations, but it's up to Sean, man, at the end of day. And let me say it here. I've said on
other podcasts, there is no beef. Sean's a great guy. I hope he doesn't take it with ill will.
And at end, we're just fighters. As much as I'm calling him out and yes, I'm trying to steal his
clout and trying to steal his the train he's on. I think it's a very good fight. It's a step-up
in risk, but it's a big six.
step up and reward.
It's up to him.
And if we don't fight,
I'll probably go to the PI at some point.
I'll go back to Vegas.
And we have to train together.
But if we fight,
he knows just as much as I love him.
I love his story.
I love the journey he's been through.
And I'm always going to be praying for guys like that
who take that step in faith
and really believe in himself and really are fighters
and think they're,
you know, know that they're dogs.
I love the journey he's on.
And even though we've made cross paths,
I want nothing but for the best for them.
If anybody's going to take my O, I want to be a guy like that.
By the way, speaking of retirement, I did see that you wrote about Court McGee's retirement,
and I don't think you have any sort of connection to court.
I think you were just being very introspective,
and I think you wrote something that I thought was really interesting,
and I've asked fighters about this, young fighters who are on the same cards
as someone who was at the very end of their career.
This is what you wrote transparently.
I cry every fight, usually for a multitude of reasons.
But this time I found myself in the back, worshiping God,
while watching Court McGee's retirement highlights
after an absolute war to open the card and it hit me,
wow, that's going to be me one day, God willing.
And the God willing at the end, to me, I read it as,
like, you hope that that's you one day
having a career like that.
But sometimes fighters will see that and be like,
man, this is all going to end one day.
That makes me sad.
But you're saying you want the farewell.
And so can you explain those emotions?
Because I think most fighters would be like,
man, that's a bummer.
I'm dreading that day,
as opposed to you who is saying,
God willing, I get to that day.
It's a funny subject.
I always like to start the word.
The word of God says, meant to live is Christ and the dies game.
And basically what that means is I'm supposed to, regardless of if I'm fighting or not,
so I really feel like I didn't have a choice.
I looked at the path that God had for me.
I looked at the options I had.
I could have worked in corporate America.
I could have worked for a nonprofit.
I could have kept playing football and just sat out for a season and waited for the CFL and popped back up.
But God put this table in front of me.
And he said, went, if you go down this path, I will be with you.
As clear as I ever heard him in my life.
And I said, God, I am not a dumb guy.
And I know what it takes to be a world champion.
And you know me.
You know, I don't quit.
You know, I don't cut any corners.
You know, I try to work as hard for you.
And he said, when, I don't need you to work hard.
I need you to work smart.
And a smart man stick with his father.
A smart man listens to his father.
A smart man listens to the king.
And the king will never leave me stranded by myself.
He will never leave me nor forsake me.
So I'm walking down this path, 9-0, and I know the more I win, the harder it's going to get.
The more I beat these guys who aren't necessarily on my level, I'm running to a guy where
everybody's going to say, went, you don't have enough, you're not big enough, you're not strong enough,
you're not smart enough.
This guy's too good.
And I'm going to have to go deeper than I've ever won in my life to get that win.
I'm going to come out with some scars.
So as I look at Gordon McGee, I looked at that story, and it's funny, man, I didn't know who he was.
I saw him fighting.
I saw him fight his heart out.
Obviously, a loss.
But I say to live.
Christ in the dies game because I know walking down the path is supposed to be hard,
but the day I die, it's not even just about fighting. The day I leave it first, man, I'm,
I'll be so happy on my deathbed whether I'm 40, 50, 60, 70, 80, 90 years old because I know
the journey that I go on, the person I've become, the lives that God will allow me to
change by being a vessel, just sitting at my bed, maybe my grandkids are around me and I'm
getting chills by saying this. Maybe my wife is there. Her mother, I mean, her family's
there and I'm sitting there ready to take my last breath. I'm going to say, praise God.
You took me on this journey. So in that same breath, man, as I sit there, you know,
I'm wrapping those gloves, when lose is wrong. I'm unwrapping those gloves. Man, I'm looking
at my coach Deid Navarro. I'm looking at Impecassan. I'm looking at him. I'm looking at
Robert Loder or whoever else is in my corner. And I'm saying, guys, it's over.
I'm going to tie, I'm going to cry tears of joy because I wanted to quit before we've been
started. I wanted to quit when I was 7 in 0, 5 in the 0, winning. Everybody thinks I'm having
the time of my life, I'm like, God, this isn't worth it. And now that my pockets are
are multiplying, now that people are starting to recognize me, now that people are saying,
hey, this guy got a little something to him, he can fight. And, you know, this, this and that,
I'm like, man, you all, little do y'all know, I don't even want to be here. And I have to be
obedient to the path that God's put me on because that's what he called me to be. And how
dare I, how dare I question the Lord of the universe and say, God, you're wrong, and I'm not the
one.
I'm not the one, but he walks before me and I have an opportunity to do something nobody's ever done before.
And that's climb without compromise, be able to conquer without compromising who I am as a man of God.
And that's something that not many celebrities get to do.
And God has chosen and called me to do so.
So, man, Cort McGee's story is amazing.
He's a great guy.
I've read a lot into him.
I've loved to meet him.
And that's what I want, a family.
He has two boys wrestling.
And I think he found the peace bill to retire because he understands what his name.
His real mission is now, and that's to be a father with a life he has left.
So being able to poor, that same thing he did in the cage and to his boys and to his wife
and to his community.
And he's already done that.
He's already inspired many people.
And the short amount of time I'd be able to read his story, I was like, man, that's a great
man.
And congratulations to him in retirement.
Anthony, congratulations to you.
I'm enjoying these chats very much getting to know you.
You're a breath of fresh air.
You're a very unique guy.
And I really like that you kind of, you know, you open your heart.
You say what's on your mind.
You tell us how it is, even though people may be interpreting it in a different way or misconstruing what you're saying.
I appreciate that you are a man of conviction and faith, and I'm enjoying these interviews, these chats, and seeing you progress in your career.
So hopefully we get to see you in New York in a month.
If not, I'm sure we'll be seeing you very soon.
Enjoy the victory, my friend.
And thanks, as always for the time.
Yes, sir.
As always, Ariel, I'll think about going to Canada, but I realize, like, I live in Miami.
I want to make a trip all the way to Canada.
man, my guy, Nate, that's trained is going to take over next week.
I think Robbie Law was going with him.
Man, you're a breath for fresh air as well, man.
I know you get a lot of hit from all the people, man,
but I love the open space that you created for fighters to pour their heart on be who they are,
where there's some reporters or some media platforms that kind of want to create a narrative.
So I thank you for those listening, man.
You are a fighter as well.
You don't have to get in the cage.
You don't have to be like me.
Fight for your family.
Fight for your loved ones.
Fight for your wife, your husband.
Whoever you have in front of you, man, because these days are evil.
This time is short.
The pleasure that you.
want to have the desires you have, if they're not in line with God, it's going to fall down
anyways. The house that you're building will crumble if it doesn't have a good foundation.
So fight with all your heart, all your might, and all your soul. Stay sharp.
Yes, and speaking of evil, a wise man once said, Anthony, judge me by my enemies.
So that hate that you talk about, consider the sources, all right?
Yes, sir.
Thank you.
Praise God.
All the best.
There he is.
Anthony Wint, kind enough to join us after a massive win, 23-second knockout on
Saturday. November 21st in Qatar,
we'll get a big time fight at 145. And that card is great, and that was a talking point last
week, this card being better than 332. Yaddi yada. Al Jermaine Sterling, he was on the show last
week to talk about his big time matchup against Argentina's own Kevin Veshejos. Kevin has been
on before. Great to have him back on. Let us say hello to the absolute stud that a lot of people
think will be fighting for a belt in no time. Hello, Kevin. Como Estes?
Hey, hello. What's up, brother?
Wow, the English is, it's great.
You don't need Martin to help you out.
Only this.
Only this, okay.
Only that, yeah, only that.
All right, well, you're getting better, and that is great to see, showing improvement.
This is a big time fight, Kevin.
Were you happy when you were offered it by the UFC?
Well, you're getting in English, so felicitous for that.
But, well, when you offered a play,
you were
surprised when the UFC
you're offreceo?
No,
no,
I'm not surprised
because
you had said
about a little
of that
we also,
we also
we had
said,
like,
me,
me would have
liked,
it had
called,
to be able to
play in
some
moment,
I think
that WFC
he wants,
he,
he wants
that I
progress
in the
company,
so
really not is
something
that
I'm
I'm surprised that I'm
surprised that I've put a top 4.
I feel I that I'm
doing with the expectations of WFC
and me are giving
better opportunities.
No,
no, I wasn't surprised at all
when I got the fight.
At one point I even
wanted the fight, I asked for the fight.
So at the end, I think that the
UFC wants me to keep progressing up the rankings
and I think it was the logical next
fight to take. So for you, this
made sense. This is what you were looking for,
Is there another name that you were hoping instead of Aljo?
So, for you, this was the name that you were looking?
Or, you're just waiting for another name, too?
We're still waiting another name.
He's had gone by a lesion.
But, well, no important.
The fact that, the fact that I had previously,
me would have to talk in some moment, Sterling.
also I'm
contented
that I'm
trying to
he's a
great proof
to know I'm
to know if
I'm at
the level
to be a
champion
he's a
ex-campion
of 135
libras
so that
better
a better
than someone
that was a
champion
that he
had that
had been
that's
so I'm
so I'm
contented
to that
me has
talked
this
opportunity
and obviously
to thank
him
that has
taken
the
because he had been
that he had said that
he didn't
take any
a play
for the
down to
the ranking
so to
play with
a top
10
so I think
I think I
have to
thank you
I'm
to do
another name
we actually
had another
fight that
was planned
to happen
that fighter
pulled out
because of
an injury
it doesn't really
matter now
I got
Sterling
was a
fight that
I thought
I could
potentially get at some point and I'm happy that I got it. I'm really happy because I feel like
it's a good test for me to see if I'm really going to be the champion. He's a former champion,
top 10 fighter or top five fighter. And honestly, I also want to thank him because he even said that
he only was going to take a fight that was ahead of him in the rankings or for the title. And for
him to accept to fight me, it's giving me the opportunity to go up in the ranking.
so I also want to thank him.
He told us last week that he was given essentially
a one hour deadline to accept this fight.
Were you given the same deadline?
Essentially, the same time
he said that he only had a one hour to accept the play.
A both they did exactly the same quantity of time
to accept or how it?
I accepted the moment that they said in a little bit of a moment
that they were in a little bit of a while.
I don't have to be worried because they'll have a hour,
or whatever, I always have accepted the
same day.
Me had said,
"'Pelial against Emmett,
they have accepted in the first day.
I've said to play with Grega,
and I've accepted there in the moment.
Never I'm there in that expectation of,
you give one hour,
you do two hours,
no, simply I accept.
Me, they say,
against him, and I play.
I mean, the thing is that I don't even know
if I would even need an hour.
At the end of the day,
when they offered me,
Al Jermaine Sterling,
I said yes immediately.
I don't need an hour
to accept a fight.
And that's how it's been for my entire career.
When they offered me Josh Emmett, I offered them.
I said yes the day that they offered me the fight.
When they said Gigga Chikaze, I said yes immediately.
I don't really care who I fight.
Whoever they offered me, I'm going to say yes,
because I'm going to be someone that's going to be ready to fight whoever.
Have you or your team been told if you beat Al Jermaine Sterling,
you'll fight for the title next?
to the UFC
he said to you
or to your
team that if you
you're going to
you're going to
you're going to
you're going to
you're going to
no
no I think
if you've said
that's not
me ever had
said that
me never
to know
sincerely
the plan of
God is perfect
and if
today I'm
today I'm
playing with
the top
four
sincerely
I can't
I can't
be more
than being
a champion
in a
future or
having the opportunity in a future of
to play against the champion.
Benciending to Sterling,
who's out top four,
I think I'm a contendent,
a list,
prepared to,
for, to do the next in the list,
no?
No, no, no, no.
The UFC hasn't said anything.
I mean, I haven't heard
them say anything like that before in the past,
so, but at the end of the day,
I'm fighting a top four fighter.
They keep moving me up in the rankings,
and Al Jermaine's,
Sterling being a former champion and being arguably someone that could fight for the title now,
I think that if I fight him, I think that it would only make sense for me to be the next in line
to fight for the title.
And by beating him, I have no doubt that I would become champion.
The title is on the line in less than three weeks.
Who do you think wins?
Alex Volkinovsky or Mosarev Lov.
In three semadas, vaugh will be a polkovsky against Moser-Evlovlyov.
For you, who will gain that battle?
Volkanowski.
I feel that
still has
much
a career
he's
it has been
in the
defense
of derivos
against
Iceland
Kachet
which is
a category
much more
to be
a much
more
more
so I
doubt
much
that
the Bloet
could
control
it,
derrival
it can
derrival it
is very
good
in
his
control
Volkan
Oskie
is
very
difficult
and
I
know I
have
the power to knocker it, like he's going to win. I think Volkanovsky is going to win.
I think that in the past he's fought Makashv, for example, that was a lot of a bigger fighter
and a great wrestler. And even Makashv couldn't hold Volkanovsky down. So I highly doubt
that Mavzar is going to be able to do that. I think that Volkanovsky is the better striker.
And even though he got knocked out by Islam Makhachev, I don't think that Mavzar has the power to be
able to knock him out. I think that Volkonovsky still has a lot of miles left that he can go
and I think that Volcanoffi's going to win. Is that part of the dream as well to be able to beat
Volkanowski who's considered one of the best feather weights of all time?
And for you, that would be a part of the dream to beleur to win him, the best
or plume in all the history?
Yeah, how not
to win a, it's like
the chief final
is someone that has dominated
very well the category.
Obviously
I'd like to gain
before that
that's retire, no,
before that
that's not,
not be a champion.
The fact that would be
a dream,
actually,
to be able to
Wakanowski,
can't,
to get the title,
and obviously
to gain to
someone who really
who really
was
to
dominate,
not,
because
can't
get a
web
being
not
simply
his first
defense or
second
defense,
it's
like,
well,
yeah,
he
won't
get many
defenses,
has maintained
the
title
against the
people,
and I
think I
would be
much more
gratificate.
Yeah,
of course.
I mean,
like,
Volkanovsky
would be
literally like
fighting the
final boss,
you know,
it would be like,
uh,
beating the,
the,
the best featherweight of all time.
It's someone that he's defended the belt against the best so many times.
He's dominated the division.
It would be a complete dream.
And I mean, if I fought Evliov for the belt and I beat him, of course, like, it would be good.
It would be cool.
But it would be his first, maybe second defense.
While Oklanovsky, he's such a legend that, of course, it would be a dream to be able to fight him and beat him before he retires.
Kevin, when you made your,
UFC debut in March of 2025, your next fight was five months later. After that fight, your next fight was four months later. After that fight, your next fight was four months later. It will be eight months in between your last fight in March of last of this past year against Josh Emmett and this upcoming fight. Has this been frustrating for you? You seem to have been healthy after the fight unless we don't know about something to wait almost double the amount of time that you usually have to wait for fights in the UFC.
Well, when you debut
in the UFC
was 25, it was
March 2025.
After that
that's debut
you've got
five months
to play.
After that,
four
months.
After that,
after that,
other four
months,
and now,
between your
ultimate
play,
until the
of,
the,
the
two months,
for you,
for you
was frustrating
to have
to be
so time
for the
UFC
to offer
a
a
or what
happened or you
did a
lesson
because
it was
you're
quite a
very
very
very
very
not a
no
sincerely
I'm
not
me did
a
I'm
was in
training
I'm
not
I've
no
I'm
never
really
simply
a
little
a
muscle
and
micro-leg
that
are
accumulating
in
the
campments
or
play
after
play
but
but
well
I
thought
that
they were
possible
that
were
preparing a good
and,
I'm actually,
I'm going to
play with
a ex-campion
with a guy
with a man
very good
I feel I'm
a great opportunity
so I feel
for that's
me should
be in
expect,
so that
me
recuperer at
100
and can
get to
get to
someone
more.
No,
I wasn't
frustrating.
I think that
I needed a
little bit
of time
just because
I didn't have
any injuries
but just
because I was
so active,
there was a lot
of muscular
fatigue that I
had
all the camps that I had.
And I did think that, because it did take a little bit longer to wait for a fight,
and I knew it was because they had something really big planned for me.
And as I thought that, it became true because now I'm fighting a former champion, Al Jemaine Sterling,
a fight that's going to get me up in the ranking.
So I'm really happy with the opportunity.
And I think that it was really good how everything went down.
You tweeted about 10 or so days ago, the English ran.
Were you referring to Lorone Murphy?
You, in
some moment,
you put it in Twitter,
that the Englishes
corriered.
You were referring to
Lerone Murphy?
There's a
thing in Argentina is
that he
kept the poncho,
that's the
he slipped,
he never
did not any
name,
he simply
he said
any name
in specific.
So,
the,
that he
kept the poncho,
that's
he le,
There's a phrase in Argentina we say.
I don't really know how to say the exact expression in English,
but it would be something along the lines of the person who says something.
I mean, they might be to blame, right?
So I didn't say anybody's name.
If he jumped and said something about it, that's on him.
So at the end of the day, that's the expression that I would say.
I don't know.
Okay.
There seems to be maybe a jockeying of position.
John Silva says that he is next.
If you win on November 21st, who should the UFC give the shot to?
You or John Silva?
It's a lot of against you and Jean Silva.
To see who is that positioning to be the next contendent.
If you're going to win the 21 of November,
who would have to play for the title?
Jan Silva or the Chino-Machejos?
If you want a champion that's a much time,
I'm more young.
He has already 30, it's almost 29, so if
want a champion that's a
maintain for many years, I think
I'm going to do I. But, well, any
of those two is
a, is
to have a good champion.
I'm saying I, that Jan Silva
did more than sufficient to have
the opportunity, and I'm doing my
way to my own own own. I know that
in some moment I'm going to find out, it's
for, for contendent, no?
Possibly, also it's a
He's going to go to
because he doesn't want to
play with
someone specific
and we have to
we'll have to
us to
see who is
the new contendent
or well
one of the
two
is ahead
to the other
so I think
if the UFC
wants a long
reigning champion
they're going to
want to give me
the opportunity
first because
I'm younger
he's like
30 or about
to be 30
so I'm
you know
24 and I would be a
way longer reigning champion.
But at the end, I know I'm going to end up fighting him anyways.
If it's for the belt, that would be great.
But if it's to see who's going to be truly the number one contender to fight next for the belt,
I'm happy to do that too.
But I do think that whoever that the UFC offers, if it is to Gene or to me,
I think that Gene would be a very good champion as well.
He's a great fighter.
And I have a lot of respect for him.
But I think that I would be the longer reigning champion.
Did Altramane invite you on his podcast?
So Sterling
you invited to his podcast.
So,
I've heard
a rumor,
I don't know,
I think I
said.
Yeah, that's what we heard.
That's a rumor
that got to me, yeah.
Okay, are you going to go on?
And, well,
and you do you,
you know,
you're going to do.
Depends,
no see,
no say,
no say,
I don't know,
I know if I want
much to listen
But, well, if I me
get the invitation formally,
I'll try him,
it depends. It depends what he wants to
talk about. It depends if I really even
want to sit down to listen to him.
But, I mean, I'll see. If he formally
invites me, I'm open to
hear him out. I asked him
to send you a message
when he was on my show last week, and he said something
to the effect of, like, he's coming for your ass.
And then you tweeted,
you seem to be confused by what
he said. So tell me what was your reaction when you heard his message.
When he, well, Ariel
he asked him to send a message to boss. And he
said something like he's going to cullo.
You put something in Twitter like he's going to do
and you're kind of confused with his message.
Or so, what was your reaction when you
saw that?
It's that in Argentina,
it's very much.
Maybe in the
States
is it
is okay,
but in Argentina
is very
well.
No, I mean,
look,
I don't know.
Like,
in Argentina,
like,
that sounds really bad,
man.
Like, I don't know.
Maybe in the U.S.,
I don't know,
like,
where he's from,
like,
like,
that's okay to say,
I don't know,
but,
but in Argentina,
like,
like,
that's really bad
if you say that,
I don't know.
Okay.
So that's giving you
a little bit of pause,
as they say.
So,
like,
a little,
like,
like,
like gay
Simon,
yeah,
it's a
rather,
no say.
For the
doubt,
I'm not
I'm going to
make a
back.
Yeah,
man,
that's,
it's kind of weird,
man,
but just,
just in case,
I'm just,
I'm not going to
let him
get my back.
Okay,
okay,
okay,
fair enough.
Can I ask,
how do you think
it ends?
How do you
think you beat him
on the 21th of November?
Thence,
then I'm
so,
how you're
to get to
win
the 21 of
of November?
No,
I can
knocker.
And I'll
I have no doubt that I'm going to knock him out because I know I can knock him out.
Wow. And of course your country has had great success in Qatar. So you'll be
looking to replicate that. 2020, Argentina winning the World Cup in Qatar. So it has been
a good luck charm for you guys.
And your country has too much success in Qatar, no, in the 20-22, being champions of the
Now you're going to go and
to play against Sterling in Qatar.
How is that?
No, the
really content of that,
of living,
to be playing in the
place where Argentina
was conserved a champion.
So,
me full of
motivation, that.
It's,
it's,
it's a lot of
a football
very,
in a form
very special,
so,
living and
play there
where they were
champions,
me motivates me
much.
Yeah,
no,
it's something
that really,
motivates me. I'm super happy to be able to go to the exact place where Argentina became the
world champion. Soccer is so big in Argentina and it's something that we live so deeply. So for me to
be able to go to the same place, it's really motivating and I know that I'm going to have a lot of
success there. I'm sorry about this year's final against Spain. What happened by the way? How come
they couldn't beat Spain? They should have been able to beat them. And well, I'm sorry, what I'm
with the
time that
that they
they're
in the
final
this
year,
I'm in
a question,
what do
what you
do you
do you
what
so?
What was
for that
Argentina?
It was
a bit
rare,
Argentina,
no
there's
many rumors,
many
things
raras.
Sincerably
I'm not
me
met a
much in
that
football
but
but
it was
rare
how he
played
the selection.
I'm
I'm
that they were kind of
a menaceous.
But, well, it's question
of them.
Only they know.
I don't know.
It was a weird game.
They played very weird.
I don't know.
I heard a lot of rumors.
I heard a lot of, I don't know.
I saw a lot of weird things.
To me, I don't know if,
I'm not too much into the sport of soccer,
you know, but to me,
I don't know.
It almost seemed like they were threatened
for some reason, but I don't know.
Okay.
Hopefully no funny business on November 21st.
I'm looking forward to this fight very much.
Thank you.
Thank you, thank you, Kevin.
Good luck to you.
Looking forward to it.
I appreciate the time very much.
And thank you again, Martin, for coming on and helping us out.
We appreciate you guys.
And we're looking forward to this fight.
Good luck in training and good luck on November 21st.
Good luck in November 21 November.
Yes, yeah.
Thank you.
Thank you, very, thank you for everything, Ariel.
And thank you again for the opportunity to be able to speak with you on your platform.
Of course.
A pleasure. Kevin Veshaeos, a name that I think we'll be talking about for quite some time.
One of the young studs in the game, massive opportunity for him against Al Jermaine Sterling coming up on November 21st, just 24 years young, turns 25 on the 8th of December.
That's a huge card. That's the one headline by Yeri Prochaska against Navajo Sterling.
And Navajo Sterling is going to be joining us tomorrow on the program, Yeri in Thailand right now.
So the timing doesn't work, but we'll hopefully get a chance to speak to him.
before that fight on November 21st.
Obviously, the last time we saw him
was against Carlos Alberg.
Alberg compromised, injured,
and then all of a sudden,
Yuri thinks he's got it and got knocked out.
That was in April in Miami.
I have to do something with my jaw real quick here, Frank.
Ah, I was killing me.
Did you hear it?
No, I pressed the button.
I saw it, is what I meant to say.
Still to come, Oscar Delahoya.
We've got some fun things to talk about now
as far as the world of boxing.
I can't wait for this.
So on Wednesday, we were doing the show at the same time as the Anthony Joshua Tyson Fury, Tyson Fury, Anthony Joshua press conference in London.
As you may recall, I was watching it along with you guys.
They were feeding me clips, guys in the back were watching it.
We've all had a chance to digest it and watch it.
I have to say, and I don't want to harp on this necessarily, everyone's had their say on the press conference.
I don't necessarily mind that AJ and Fury were pleasant towards each other.
Honestly, that's fine.
If that's how they felt in the moment, I'm totally okay with that.
I do think, I don't think the fight needed a press conference.
This fight is so big.
It's so rich in history.
It's been talked about.
It's been dissected and debated for well over a decade at this point.
It doesn't need anything, to be honest.
Now, of course, these things have to happen.
It's part of the game.
Netflix doesn't just want the hardcore boxing fans to watch.
I felt the press conference was a bit of a miss.
And a lot has been said about Max hosting the press conference.
And as I've said, time and again, on this show and other shows,
I've always really looked up to Max because I thought in the early portion of his career,
he was self-made, he was passionate, he was knowledgeable.
Obviously, a guy who was able to speak about combat sports and boxing in particular,
and then cross over into the stick in ball sports,
a very successful career.
But it seems, and this has been a bit of a theme,
especially with certain people and a certain company,
it seems as though he is just so disconnected
from what the audience wants
and what the fans are asking for
that that was truly on display.
It's one thing to do it, you know,
in the broadcast, there's a fight going on.
You may pay attention.
you may not pay attention.
You're standing there.
One of the most anticipated press conferences
in recent memory,
I said, as far as combat sports is concerned,
the most anticipated since Connor Chabeeb,
the first presser in New York City in 2018,
September of 2018.
And the presser starts
with you giving us a history
on the heavyweight division.
And then this guy,
and that's what, that's the,
that's the, that's the place.
book these days. Give us the history. Johnny Fisher is Rocky Marciano. Some of the dues on the early
cards. He's comparing it to Roy Jones and all this stuff. We don't need the history. We need to know
that it's finally here. And we need to know that even after it was officially announced,
it was almost, you know, it was almost something that ended up being a crisis, that that
crisis ended up being over. It's finally here. And honestly, if I was hosting that, and I've done it a few
times. I don't think I'm good at it. I'm not trying to say I should have been in there.
It's not the easiest gig and it's very easy to criticize it. But now that I've done it, I feel
like I could at least say, go back to Gina Corano and Ronda Rousey. When I went up there,
I was like, no one wants to see me. They want to see these two people. And so small preamble as
to how we got here, but they want to see these two individuals standing here, sitting here,
and then ultimately facing off. I don't need the freaking history about Frank Bruno. What does he
have to do with any of this? What does he have to do any of this? And it goes on and on and on about the
history, about the history, waxing poetic, waxing poetic, waxing poetic, waxing poetic, and then finally
we get to them being on the stage with him and we're spending what felt like an eternity, but maybe
was five minutes, on this sparring session that happened 16 years ago again, an opportunity to show
people that you know about the history of the sport. Who gives a shit? Talk to me about now, about getting
the fight done, about finally getting it over.
over the line, about it finally happening after all the false promises and stops and starts,
about where they're at in their careers, about their last fights, about Pranga, almost shocking
AJ, about the year that AJ has had, about Fury coming out of retirement. Talk to me about now.
Talk to me. The word, the name Dana White wasn't uttered. He has been such a huge part of this
promotion, whether they like it or not. That wasn't brought up. Obviously, probably because
it was produced by TKO, and they didn't want that to be a thing. Eddie's asked one
question up there. You've got umpah up there and he's asked, I don't even think he was asked
a single question. Why is he up there? Frank Warren asked one question, Spencer Brown. Why were they up
there? It just give us what we want, man. Like, you are giving us what we want in the pressers and all
this stuff in terms of like the media scrums. Like, look at the numbers. Look at how people are
eating up Eddie versus Dana. And I'm not trying to make this out to be a thing. And I definitely
don't believe that Dana is going to be partaking in any of this, this idea that Dana and
Eddie are going to be up there debating is not going to happen.
He will never do it.
No one will let him do it.
But to not at least acknowledge the road to getting to this point, to not at least ask some of
those questions about who's promoting, whose side, this, that, and the other.
The promise is like, that's what the people want.
That has made this fight even bigger.
And they all know it and acknowledge it.
So in that moment, to talk about Frank Bruno and sparring sessions, it all felt very, very
flat to me. It all felt extremely flat. And it could have been better. It was non-eventful.
It was fine. Like, I didn't care that they weren't like yelling at each other. But, you know,
Fury for the past two to three weeks is calling AJ and Eddie every name in the book. And then he gets
up there and he's like, I want to have a beer with them. Like, what? What is going on? So very weird.
Now, Dana White was asked why he wasn't going and he was asked afterwards why he wasn't there. And
essentially what he said was, I wanted to be at contender series. I had to be at contender series.
And I had to be at the 332 pre-fight press conference. Now, Eddie said, that would be like me saying,
I need to be at a matchroom next gen show as opposed to being at the biggest press conference
of our careers. I don't think that's fair. It's called Dana White Contender Series. It's 100%
called Dana White. Dana White should be at Contender Series. To Dana White's business, Contender's
series is more important. To his brand, to his own personal interests, it's more important.
That's his show. He decides who gets signed and who doesn't. It's not the same.
And next-gen show is like a showbox challenger show. It's completely different.
So I completely agree with him being there. And yes, he was in London that previous Saturday
and then he has to fly to Las Vegas. These aren't, you know, short flights. But the idea that
he had to be in Utah for the, you know, the throwaway numbered card is nonsense because he has missed
pre-fight press conferences for numbered events. And John Attic does a great job doing them.
And no one misses a beat. In fact, there's less sort of blunders and viral moments that come out
of them. And I don't mean viral in a good way. And so the idea that, oh, I had to be back here for
this, that's a little silly. Ultimately, we may never know why he didn't go. I'm sure he wanted to
be there. He wants to be a part of this. He really wants to be a part of this. I still maintain. I don't
understand why he wants to be a part of this. He is coming across as so thirsty and weak and
and and desiring to be a part, like obsessed with the idea of being a part of this fight. It would be
like someone who doesn't get to do these types of fights, who doesn't get to promote these
types of fights, just begging to be a part of it.
Yo, you run the most successful fight promotion in the world.
Again, I'll reiterate what I said last week.
Tell them, hey, we'll produce it.
Netflix, we'll do the deal with you, no problem, we'll market it, it'll be on UFC,
you guys deal with that shit.
I got bigger fish to fry over here.
I got events all over the world, breaking gates, breaking arena records, selling out.
What do I need this shit for?
Why am I putting myself in a position of weakness where Eddie Hearn is coming in here and trying to get these wins over me with his guy?
I have no connection to that dude.
Why am I putting myself through this?
I still don't get it.
But he still wants to do it and he's still putting himself through it.
And I got to be honest with you, I have never, in all my years of covering Dana White, I have never seen him look this week.
And I'm not getting my shots in here.
I'll tell it to you straight, even though some of you don't want to be.
listen when I say, I understand why he didn't go to Contender Series. That's his show. I don't
understand why you would say the 332 presser had to be attended by you. He looks weak right now.
And Eddie is getting win after win, after win, after win. Now, Dana will say he just cares about the
views and the victories and dunking on me, but in the long run, I'm going to kick his ass. He may
be right. Because here's the thing, Eddie is kind of acting as a bit of a lone soldier here. He's
got very smart people around him. Frank Smith and his marketing team and his legal team and
his dad, they are very smart.
With all due respect, Nick Conn, Mark Shapiro, Ari Emanuel are three of the most powerful,
smart, shrewd people in sports business history and entertainment history, the history of this
country.
These people do not take, you know, a fight lightly.
They don't take being poked and prodded lightly.
They are coming for him.
And he knows that and he's putting up a fight.
And he's winning the public battle right now.
What that means in two to three years?
I don't know.
even talking about the Turkey of it all.
Who knows where he'll be?
Who knows what their involvement will be?
I don't know if you guys saw Saudi Arabia now not putting on this big event that Turkey,
I have it up here.
Turkey loves this event that they put on.
Now they're not doing it.
Is this a sign of more pulling out to come?
They're canceling the Joy Awards, which was their answer to the Grammys,
amid budget cuts.
Sources say this is according to Reuters.
This was a huge deal where they'd have all.
All kinds of celebrities and musical acts come in.
And now they're saying because of the war and because the prices going up, they're canceling
that.
Is that a sign of things to come?
Is that in the same bucket as live?
Who knows?
And so I'm not even talking about the turkey of it all.
I'm not talking about Saudi Arabia's investment.
I think they'll still be invested in Zufa boxing.
I'm just talking about the war that is to come.
But right now, make no mistake about it.
Eddie is winning.
And this type of PR that he is garnering for himself is priceless.
Like the, he right now, he and AJ, and, and,
Eddie in particular, he's the story of this fight.
He has become the face of this fight and the victory to get the fight away from the United States, away from MSG, back in the UK, under his terms, and then Dana not showing up to that first press conference.
And I fully expect him to be involved.
Fight Week, I don't understand why he wants to be, but I fully expect it.
For now, it is victory after victory after victory.
It's remarkable.
I've never seen Dana take so many public else from an opponent.
so to speak.
You know,
no one in MMA
has ever been able
to go toe to toe to
with him like this
and in anything
that he's tried to do,
he's never had a,
he squashes people.
He'll try to,
someone will come after him,
you're a piece of shit,
you're an idiot,
you're,
you're a fuckhead
and everyone just runs away.
Eddie continues to come back,
continues to come back,
and continues to come back
with receipts.
He had that video that we can't show
because there's music attached
that he dropped on Friday
of all the inaccuracies,
all the like,
the walking backs.
And, you know, it was just shocking to see someone continue to pile up wins over big bad
Dana White.
Now, Eddie continues to say Dana is cooked mentally.
He's not saying he's cooked like, I'm going to beat him or I'm winning.
He thinks that he's cooked mentally.
That's what he's saying.
And so let's look at everything that's happened since we spoke on Wednesday.
Here's Dana at the pre-fight presser in Utah on Thursday being asked about why he wasn't
in London on Wednesday for this much talked about press conference.
And then I have to ask, this is the first time we've seen you since,
the press conference yesterday in London.
Did you watch it?
And do you have any thoughts on what transpired?
I did not.
I haven't seen it, no.
What transpired?
What are you asking me?
I was just asking if you heard Eddie Huron said it was a PR disaster for you.
There seemed to be the fans thought you would be there.
Did you hear any of that?
Well, I had the contender series yesterday.
I had to be here today.
I fly a lot, but that's a little.
That's a little bit of a rough trip.
Not only am I promoting the fight, we're producing the fight too.
UFC is going to produce the show.
I don't know how that's a PR disaster.
I'm right.
So they love him at the UFC pressers.
They were booing him at the London presser.
When he says he's right, right about what?
Because he said that it was going to be in the States, MSG,
that they're promoting it, that they're producing it.
Well, those two facts he may ultimately be right on, but it's not happening in Madison Square Garden.
It's not happening on November 21st.
And so there are some things that he did have to sort of swallow, but Dana will just say I'm right and people will cheer.
As far as the PR disaster, I mean, I think he's referring when Eddie said that, he was referring to the Saturday night press conference in London.
And the fact that here's this massive press conference that everyone's been talking about, who will be there, who won't be there?
Eddie's on the stage, Dana is not.
And so, yeah, publicly, that's a bit of a, that's a bit of an L.
He loves to do this thing now where he says, I haven't seen this, I haven't watched this.
That to me, like, you're supposed to be promoting it, you're producing it.
Your whole MO was that you are watching and detailing every, like every single detail,
from walkout music to the poster, to the, to the lights, to the production.
That's always been his thing.
And now all of a sudden he doesn't watch the pre-fight press coverage of one of the most important combat sports events of the last two decades.
What does that say about his involvement?
What does that say about his interest in all of this?
It's very bizarre.
Dana, 15 years ago, would have watched that whole thing, had notes, and take ownership of it all.
Did not happen.
Now, he's asked about Wang Kong.
Now, back to the Cook thing.
Talk about 15 years ago.
I did all those interviews with him.
We would debate.
We would argue.
He would tell me about the first fight to the last fight.
He would do exactly what Eddie does now with those press conferences,
where he tells you about the first fight, the curtain jerker,
all the way to the last fight.
This, to me, blew me away.
Here he is being asked about why Wang Kong.
Why is she getting the title fight?
What did you see from Wang Kong that you thought she deserved the first shot at this vacant title?
Yeah, I mean, we're always trying to find out who the best is.
That's what we care about.
So in making this fight, Wang, you know, Wang was the decision we made.
And Talia, obviously, on a 14-fight win streak, we'll see.
Has to look, I mean, what can I say about this?
Has to look down.
Can't tell you a single thing about her.
Does that, like, kids use words cringe these days.
Is that cringe?
I don't know what that is.
That is just someone who just does not.
know the product. That is someone who is cramming the night before and isn't confident enough
to speak on the subject. Why did she get the title shot? She's ranked eighth. You tell us that the
best fight the best. Tell me why she is getting the time. Sell me on why I should give you
my time on Saturday night as a, as a viewer, as a fan who has a million different things at
his disposal. Why should I watch this on Saturday? She's a, it gets worse. In the back,
He actually starts to speak in detail about why Wang Tong got the title shot.
And this, when I saw this, I had to, I saw it, I looked at it, I listened to it again,
and then I went to their tapology records, and I said, holy shit, take a listen.
Well, she's ranked number eight.
Rankings are, you know, if you look at what she's done in her body of work, she's 10 and 1.
I was just saying, she beat Rosamajunas, she beat, uh,
And Drogge, she beat
Grazo, and she beat
Valentina Shafshanko in a kickboxing
match. So, you know, as you look
through the roster and look at who
Shefshanko has beat and cleaned out,
she's the one that should be
fighting on Saturday now. Guess what?
Guess who beat Alexa Grasso,
Rose Namajunis, also known as Rose Nama Yunus, still can't
pronounce her name correctly.
Jessica Andrudge, not Wang Tong!
Natalia Silva, inexcusable.
He got the resume wrong.
Oh, and here come the defenders.
He's got too much.
No, he doesn't.
This is literally all he has to do at this point.
Hunter does the deals.
Peter Droppik does the arena deals.
You got TKO doing everything else for you.
All you have to do is stand up there and do interviews about your product that you
continue to say you don't care about what people like me or the media or the fans or anyone has to say,
you don't care.
You don't care about your own product.
You don't watch your own product.
You don't follow your own product.
You know nothing about your fighters.
You went up there and told us
that the number eight ranked fighter
beat those three fighters
when it was her opponent
because that's what you would do
when you were a kid
and you would cram before a test
when you know nothing about the test
that you showed up
you get everything mixed up.
You know nothing about that to me
is indefensible.
That is embarrassing.
And the fact that no one in attendance
there at that scrum
called him out on it,
suggests to me either that they know shit all about the sport as well,
or they were too afraid.
And the fact that no one brought it up on Saturday as well is pretty damn embarrassing.
Hey, Dana, bit of a blunder,
because I think he actually would have taken it on the chin.
Yeah, I fucked that one up, guys.
But no one even brought it up.
Bit of a blunder there on Thursday went viral
when you said that Wang Tong beat those three former champions
who was in fact, Italia Silva.
What happened there, Dana?
No one even brings that up.
Come on.
You all saw it.
You all knew it.
embarrassing, absolutely embarrassing. And how do you think Wang, if she saw it, felt about that?
And how do you think, how do you think Natalia Silva thought when she saw that? How do you think
she felt when she saw that? How do you get that wrong? That's your main event on your first ever
CBS main card, and you got it wrong. Are you telling me you don't care about your product?
Maybe you've blocked too many of the sites. You don't get any of the information. Maybe whatever else is
on your algorithm is clouding what you should be looking at, which is highlights of
of your fighters, at the very least, you're sitting at most of these fights.
What the hell are you looking at?
I'm sorry.
To say, like, you know, one fight, all right, I messed up one.
Three, you got the whole damn resume wrong.
And don't tell me he got confused by the question.
He's talking about Valentina, which is right, she does have the kickboxing win.
To get that wrong, I mean, indefensible, laughable, embarrassing.
And I would think, Dana White, if he was in my position talking about me making that mistake
or anyone else making that mistake, he would feel the exact same.
shameful to talk about your main event like that, to not know their resume.
You think I'm making a big deal about this.
This is the business.
This is the multi-billion dollar business that you're right.
You don't know your fighters.
What is your purpose then?
And at the same point of time where we are arguing and debating about you being a part of this,
this is what I keep saying.
Why does it matter?
Why is he needed?
Show me one press conference as of late where people were sitting there being like,
fucking made me want to watch that fight even more.
That was incredible.
Well done.
That was amazing.
say, wow, because you know what?
I witnessed that.
I watched that.
I've been at those pressers.
I've been at those scrums.
There was once a time where he was the best promoter of all time, not of his day.
In my opinion, you could make a case that Dana White's circa 2005 to 2016 is the greatest fight promoter of all time.
And nothing that happens today takes away from that.
Make no mistake.
But that's why this is so shocking.
I never thought I'd see the day that he would be this disconnected from the product.
this disinterested in the product.
And so to see that, to me, is absolute shocking.
In that same scrum, he is asked about Josh Hokit versus Alex Perrette.
Why Josh Hokit versus Cyril Gunn?
Not Alex Pereira.
Why Hokit over Pereira?
Why Hokit versus Gunn?
Can't tell you shit about the resume.
I can't tell you.
But this is how it all plays out, amazingly.
Alex Pereira, he's been claiming the rematch against Cyril Gunn in New York.
Why was Josh Hokit the right choice, the logit choice,
to fight serial gun. Is that what we announced? Yeah. No. What do you think should have been the choice?
I don't make the fight. I agree. You're asking me the question though. Where does that question come from?
What do you think we should have done? I don't know, maybe Alex Perraud because of the stop
pull where he has he could have got a rematch. He was gonna jump on that.
Because he could have got the rematch because of what? Star Power. Star Power? Yeah, we don't do that.
We make fights based on star power
I don't know, that's what I'm asking you
We make fights based on who is the best in the world
Who who deserves to be there
And he's coming off a loss right now
Against Zero Gone
This is the fight to make
Yeah, he's in there
It's not like he has to do anything
To come close to the title shot
He's in right now
He's talking about Volkov by the way
He's dead on and he'll get a shot
He's got to you know
Sometimes people get in these weird
positions where, you know, they feel like they're in no man's land, but it's just a timing issue.
No question on, you know, you said you would make it up to him. How did you or how will you make it up to him?
By the way, the perfect thing to say in response to all of that isn't Star Power, that man speaks French, that's his first language clearly, and the question was perfectly fine.
Josh Hokkaid is currently ranked sixth, okay? Alex Pereira is ranked third. You're in the business.
if it ain't star power, if it ain't marketability, why else is Josh Hokka getting it?
Because according to your rankings, Alex Pereira is ranked third.
And if you want to dismiss Pereira who has yet to win at heavyweight, what about Alexander
Volkov, who is currently ranked fourth?
What about Sergei Pavlovich who is fighting Alex Perea, who is currently ranked second?
Tom Aspinall is ranked first.
And obviously that fight isn't happening.
But this notion that like, oh yeah, we don't do it based on star power, the sixth rank guy
is getting a title shot
and he doesn't have wins
over any of those dudes ahead of him.
And oh, by the way,
you're at a scrum
for a title fight
in which the eighth-ranked fighter
is fighting for the belt.
Miss me with the...
We only put on the best versus the best.
What are you talking about?
The whole thing has been based
on star power and not meritocracy.
That's been the whole thing.
Anyway, he's asked in that same scrum
about the AJ
Fury fight and producing it and all that stuff.
Here's what he had to say.
Am I not producing the entire fucking event?
The answer is yes.
The difference between me and Eddie is.
Eddie's trying to win some kind of PR battle or Eddie likes to see himself on interviews.
He likes to talk a lot.
Talking a lot will get you in a lot of fucking trouble.
Like I said, judge me at the end of the year.
Let's see how this whole thing looks in a couple of years.
Wait a second.
The writing is on the wall.
Wait a second.
He's out of his mind.
He's incredibly delusional.
he knows what's going on.
Wait a second.
We all know what's going on.
Wait, are we moving the goalpost now?
I thought it was end of the year.
Now it's a couple years?
It's already October.
How much is left?
That one dude asked him that really good question
at the presser last Saturday,
that amazing question,
how many Zufa boxing events are left?
He said three,
and he loved that one.
He said it was one of the better questions
ever asked of him.
And so maybe three plus the one,
which he is producing.
He's right about that.
I don't know why Eddie keeps saying not.
That's every indication is that
that that is accurate.
But now it's two years, as opposed to the end of the year.
I thought this was the, you know, the deciding sort of timeline.
End of the year.
That's what he said.
In any event, after all of this, Eddie had, you know what's interesting?
He says, Eddie does all these interviews, and he does.
He talks to IFL every single day leading up to a fight.
He's promoting a whole bunch of fights, stomping ground, all these guys.
Dean is doing just as many.
Someone needs to do a breakdown.
Maybe Jedi could get on this.
He's on today.
Stephen Bartlett, Diary of a CEO,
see Dana White like you've never seen him before,
all the same stories that we've heard.
And to be honest, can I just say this?
While people say that, you know, I'm not fair,
I thought it was a pretty shitty move
to give him a copy of the book
his mom wrote about him some 15 years ago.
Dana's well aware of the book.
I felt like that was a classless move.
Here's the book.
What do you have to say?
That's end of the day, that's his mom.
That's his mom.
and I don't know.
I did not like that.
I did not like that for him to sit there and look through it and say, man, it's the first time I touched the book or see it.
Was that necessary?
Just ask him the damn question if you wanted to ask him.
Did not love that.
But anyway, he's doing a whole bunch of these interviews as well.
They're both doing a whole bunch of interviews.
You know why?
That's the job.
You do interviews.
Why is that a bad thing?
That's the whole point of this.
How is that a diss?
You're doing interviews all over the gap.
And guess what?
He's winning every time he does one of these.
interviews. And so here's Eddie telling, so he said he had this video plan and then he woke up
the next day and he's like, I listen to this, calling me the P word that, and I'm losing and I'm
delusional and the end is near and all that. And he's like, you know what? We need to post that.
Here's what he had to say. This is now after all this media in Utah.
Just on the whole Dana White situation, obviously you released the video, basically showing the
receipts and then clapping back at the receipts. I've heard you say that you were thinking about
it. And then he said to me.
stuff over the way.
Yeah, I was, after the press, I was like,
our job's done here, do you know what I mean?
And then he just carried on and he was lying again.
And I was like, I'm just gonna have to drop this video.
And then he said he's doing the TV production.
I had to write to seller and just go,
can you confirm he's not?
And they wrote straight back and said,
we confirm they're not, that he's, this not true.
Why would he say that is?
I think, I think he's, I don't think he really,
I just, I don't know, I think his head's gone, number one.
And two, listen, there's no doubt that these guys will speak
to Netflix and, you know, et cetera.
And like, they think they might,
but they can't do it in the contract.
And I've just, I don't mean more times
we've got to prove it.
But, yeah, look, we might meet next week
and we'll see what happens.
What did you make of Dana getting
the CV of one of his main event fighters
completely wrong?
Heads cooked.
I know how he feels.
Like, you know, sometimes,
you know, your head can get a little bit
scramble when you're under pressure.
And it happens to people.
Just don't happen to me.
Eddie's feeling it right now.
It happens to,
people, it just don't happen to me. Later, he was asked more about this, and this is, I think,
from IFL. He's feeling himself, and Dana's giving him a lot of opportunities to, you know,
to kind of hit him where it hurts. I'm curious how this whole producing thing is going to play out.
Every indication seems to be that TKO is producing it. And ultimately, why not? They are the best.
Look, make no mistake about it. They are the best in terms of TV production.
Do we want to put the DeZone broadcast side by side with, I don't know, Canello Crawford?
In terms of like cameras and promotional material, WWE and UFC are the best of what they do.
There is no doubt about it.
And the producers who work for them are the best of what they do.
There is no doubt about that.
And so if Netflix really does want the very best producing this mega event, I would side with TKL.
I would pick them.
And so I don't know why they're fighting that other than to say like, hey, we want them.
we're near all of this. Anyway, here's more from Eddie Hearn on Saturday.
Eddie, you would have seen Dana's comments the other day where he said that he's
producing the Fury Joshua fight. What exactly does that mean?
Just to be honest with you, at this point, I think he's just, he's completely cooked.
What he actually said was, he said, we are producing, we're doing the TV production,
which again, in the contract, he's prohibited. So after, I wasn't going to drop that video,
by the way, because I thought, do you know what, I'll leave it now.
I actually started to feel bad for him.
And so I thought, I won't drop the video.
Then I woke up to all that and I just thought, just dropped the video.
After that video, I spoke to Seller and I said, have you seen this video?
And they said, yes, and it is completely untrue.
And they told me that him right.
It can't be, he cannot do that under the contract.
So I just think, and I've got to actually admire him because rather than just going,
Listen, fair play.
Hearns had me by the Shorten Curlies.
Well, actually, there's not many of those.
But like, he goes, no, and he just, he won't give up.
So it's like, I've got to quite respect to and admire it
because the front on him, he's unbelievable.
But they want me to meet them in L.A. next week, which I probably will.
Okay, so very interesting.
Dana later that night refuted that there was any sort of meeting
that he was going to take part in.
I can't tell you, Eddie Hearn will be.
on the show tomorrow. And we've been trying to have him on for some time. He's finally carved out
some time. I know he's been very busy. And so I obviously can't wait for that chat. I would love to
have Dana on as well to see his side of the story. But obviously, that's not happening these days.
Eddie feeling himself so very much these days that he's even telling Dana that he wants him to dance
for him. Who has ever spoken like this without any sort of retaliation about Dana White?
not many people certainly none to live and stick around and talk about it but eddie's doing it take a listen
you mentioned you were just previously that you were going to have a meeting in l a
will dana be there yeah supposed to be with him yeah what do you think will be the conversations on
going through i mean i don't know you know could be clear the air could be what are we going to do
are we going to keep doing this you know ultimately i don't mean to sound arrogant they cannot be
involved in the fire unless
myself and Anthony
allow them to be
and they seem to be very desperate to
be involved in the fight and Turkey wants them to be
involved in the fire and so do Netflix
and I get like that you know it's great
for the promotion so I'm not against it
I just want you to tell me and explain why
why should I you know
so what's in it for
Anthony what's in it for us
and once we establish
that we can make a decision
but so far
I think people can't deny it.
It's been great for the promotion and the build-up
and the hype of the fight.
But if you're going to let him come to the presser,
you've got to let me talk to him.
You can't ask me one question
and just try and silence me there
because I want to go back and forward with him.
I've got a lot of questions to quiz him
on his boxing knowledge about his clients
and potential opponents for them, stuff like that.
If he apologises for, you know,
all the last few weeks, would you be able to let him be there?
He doesn't.
He's not said anything.
personally offensive to me.
So I'm not really like, oh, you need to apologize.
But they're complete, and I'm, again, not trying to speak with real arrogance,
but they're completely checkmated in this situation.
So, but again, it's like I'm, I don't, I'm not like going to run this battle
for the next 10 weeks of every time they say, like, legally enforcing our position.
If you really want to be involved that badly,
Talk to me.
Dance for me.
Oh dear.
How likely...
Oh dear.
Again, we've never seen anything quite like this.
Whoever drew up that contract that he's able to continue to go back on and apparently
get all these wins.
Shout out to that lawyer.
Pretty damn incredible.
And the fact that this is all playing out, meaning AJ Fury in the midst of this war,
is a gift from the gods in that they could be feuding with each other like they were back
in February when Connor Ben left, but there wasn't a fight that they had to sort of like all
be in the sandbox together working on. The fact that it's playing out this way is pretty damn
remarkable. Now, later in the evening, UFC 332 plays out, and there's Dana White meeting
with the press to talk about what transpires. This is the version that I'm referring to when I say
I've never seen this side of Dana White. He's asked about the fight, and he proceeds
to just read off of a piece of paper.
Like, could you imagine 15 years ago, fiery Dana White,
ripped jeans and all, tight affliction shirt and all, read, like, wait, this to,
I know it, I know it ultimately isn't this, but it felt like the waving of a white flag.
It felt like him saying no must.
Maybe I'll be proven wrong in that there's some like checkers being played here or chess
or whatever, but to see Dana not come back,
He's always said, do you remember beating up babies?
Do you remember beating up babies earlier in the year?
And this is the retort to all of this, reading off of a piece of paper to just say, like, I don't know, I got nothing?
Never seen this before.
Take a look.
Let's talk about your favorite topic, Eddie Hearn.
Oh, that's what we come up.
So this week you said that you are promoting and producing the fight on Netflix.
He did a press conference earlier today where he said,
that contractually you are not able to produce or promote the fight.
Clearly there's some confusion going on here.
Who said to you,
hey,
we want you to produce the event?
Was it Netflix?
Was it seller?
Who's the one actually contacting you and saying,
hey,
we want you to...
Very good question.
Fair question?
Fury versus Joshua is a fight that fans have wanted for years.
Two massive stars,
a real rivalry,
and heavyweight bragging rights.
December 11th.
In Cardiff, Wales.
live on Netflix.
What is that?
This is you promoting the fine, I say.
No, that's my response to your...
Okay.
He did say that there is a meeting next week in Los Angeles.
I don't know if you're involved in that meeting,
but are you going to meet Eddie next week in L.A.?
No.
I haven't heard anything about that of any meetings next week.
Between who?
I think he said Dr. Rackich and Seller.
Rakan.
Yeah.
No.
Would you like to meet them?
Do you even see a point at this point?
It feels like you...
What do I need to meet about?
What I know...
Well, it feels like at this point...
everything that's
first of all,
it's like been going on
forever and ever,
but it feels like
unless you two get
in a room and discuss it,
it's going to be back and forth.
My answer to this whole question
is the same as it's been
since however long
we've been talking about this.
Will you be there in Cardiff
and you'll be part of the press conference?
I will be there.
We're producing the show.
But he says you can't.
Just like Canella Crawford.
Same thing.
Yep.
That is accurate.
Craig Borsari.
Zach,
my whole team.
We will be producing.
Shout out,
I will have my little phone
beside the,
you know,
on the table.
just like tonight and every other night and every other show that I produce.
When you hear him say, our contract.
I don't hear it until you guys say it.
I hear nothing until you guys say it to me in press.
Don't believe that for a second.
Who did the deal with him and Joshua?
Was that seller as well?
I don't care.
I don't care.
Of course it was.
I'll be there.
I'm producing it.
I'm promoting it.
I'll see it in Wales.
You know what I keep saying,
I don't know why he's so insistent on being a part of it?
I don't mean from a production standpoint,
Because that's something that you can, you know, like you can put that up for an award.
You can make it into a great event.
That's on them.
It's all this shit that I don't understand why he wants any part of.
To say I'm the best at producing fights on producing telecast, that's something that you can be very proud of.
And that's something that he actually has a very strong case in saying.
And so that all makes sense to me.
But this whole thing of like, yeah, what have I said that didn't prove to be true?
I mean, should we go back to Bournemouth?
Should we go back to that?
I know where this is happening.
Does he call Eddie right now?
It doesn't make sense.
It doesn't make sense.
Oh, by the way, in case you're wondering about the 335 title fights, you know, the, excuse me, the one title fight, the BMF title fight, and then the, I think maybe number one contender, who knows, it's a five-round, co-main event, Alex Perev versus Sergey Pavlovich.
What was the thinking into, you know, making that main event?
UFC 335, December 12th, Las Vegas, BMF,
Charles Wolvergents, Diego Lopez will be on the show tomorrow.
What was going?
Surely after Thursday's blunder with Wangtax,
there'll be a better answer this time, right?
Like, this will be a good sell.
You know, like, tell us why.
Why Diego?
Like, does it, I mean, obviously we know about Diego,
but like, what went into it?
Take a listen.
You guys announced two big fights for December,
the BMS fight, and then Pereira, Sergei.
why did you think Charles and Diego was the fight to make for the BMF?
I don't know.
It's obviously got a huge pop in the arena.
Sure.
But why?
You know, I'm sure fans are excited about it, but it should be absolutely bad shit crazy that fight.
But why?
But why?
But why?
I've told you this before a bunch of times.
Hunter Campbell is running the show.
Hunter Campbell is running the UFC now.
He'll go up there, but he does.
Like how many more times?
And I get why these questions are asked.
But like when we're asking these questions,
surely we're expecting nothing in return.
Surely.
And so let's see how this week plays out.
Let's see if this meeting actually happens.
But I got to say, I never thought I would see this side of him.
I never thought I would see this side of him.
The two things.
How disconnected he is, how disinterested he is,
and his own product, and the thing that he built,
the Fertitas, they were the money, he was the brains.
He was the passion, he was the fire.
Obviously, they were, you know, very helpful.
Lorenzo as well.
And then to see Eddie just continue to like, drive the car,
back it up, drive, back it up, drive, back it up, drive, back it up, drive, back.
Shocking, absolutely shocking.
Never seen this side of him.
Let me ask the guys.
who are patiently waiting to weigh in on this.
Pitsy, have you ever seen this side of Dana White before?
What do you make of all of this?
No, I'm with you.
I'm going to seeing everything happen
and how it's playing out
and Eddie constantly retorting everything
that he's putting out there.
My question is, you know,
if as you say, it's accurate
that they are producing the show
and Dana is sat there, as he said,
with his little phone and he's calling the shots,
like is that ultimately his big comeback
where he gets to sit on that in the aftermath and say,
I told you, this is what I told you I was doing,
even though, of course, it has changed from promoting.
And I'm also wondering, you know,
you talked about the press conference at the start.
Could they have benefited from the old Dana White walking up on stage?
Here's this guy, here's this guy, let's get the questions going.
I mean, is that the better alternative to what we saw from Max Kellerman?
That's a great point.
Yes.
Yes, they would have benefited.
That was hard to watch.
That was hard to watch.
Did you not agree?
Like, what do we need to know about Frank Buey?
This supersedes heavyweight boxing history.
This supersedes, you know, like the title.
Like, this is a grudge match of epic proportions.
I don't need any of that crap.
So yes, less is more.
But ultimately, and by the way, they had the fans there, only a couple asked questions.
The media didn't get to ask any questions.
I bet you the media, if they were in attendance, they would have asked some questions.
They would have asked about Dana White.
They would have asked Eddie.
Let Eddie cook up there.
If you're going to have them up there, let him cook.
Let Spencer Brown cook.
They're good talkers.
Tyson, but no one did that.
To your point about that whole thing,
it's crazy to me,
but it actually really does seem to me
that Eddie and Dana are the more appealing story here
over.
They supersede Joshua and Fury,
especially in this kind of press realm, right?
And as you said, they got open.
They're talking about going for drinks together,
how much they respect each other,
just not more we're expecting based on all the vitriol between Eddie and Dana.
Is that a hindrance to this card that the thing we actually wanted to see is those two up there tearing strips off each other instead of Fury and Joshua having this amicable situation?
I don't know.
I mean, again, like I said, I don't mind the amicable situation.
Like, we've seen that before, right?
Haven't we seen this before back in the day?
We have seen it, but because of the cell of this event has been based on the feud between Eddie and
Dana and then we don't get the payoff from it.
And as far as what you're saying today is,
we ultimately won't get the payoff from it.
I don't know what's going to happen.
Okay, well, yes.
I don't, if Dana's at the fight week presser,
Eddie Hearn will not be there.
There's no way, right?
They're not going to put Dana up there with Eddie.
They're just not.
I think maybe the compromise was,
Eddie, you're going to be on fight week.
Dana will be, excuse me, Eddie, you'll be on the kickoff one.
Dana will be on fight week.
They're not going to be together.
I think Eddie will be omnipresent fight week,
but I don't think he'll be up there.
Is it the win then for Dana,
if he is, as he says, showing up
as part of this major part of the production,
he's sitting there with his phone.
Is that ultimately his get back by saying,
this is what I told you are doing,
I'm here, I'm at the event,
I'm taking part in the event,
I'm offering a lot to this event.
Is that a win?
I think by the time the event happens,
this may be old news.
There'll be two plus months.
I don't know.
I've got to,
to be honest, I thought he would be at the kickoff.
Yeah.
I don't really know what to expect it.
I thought he would be at the first one because that was the one where you can plant your
flag and be like, see, I told you.
And also, what about that moment where Michael Buffer is like, promoted by this guy,
promoted by that guy, promoted by that guy?
I guess he never said who's actually the presenting promoter because he said Tyson
Fury, Gold Star, Queensberry, Top Rank, AJ, Matrum.
Never said like, all that to me doesn't really matter.
That's minutia.
The matter of Dana.
I just can't believe
maybe it does
because that's the last thing
that he can like hang his hat on
because he told this
was going to be in New York
and all this stuff.
I just can't believe
he's letting Eddie
get these victories over him.
Yes.
Like that scene at the presser
where he's reading off a piece of paper
I'm like, what?
Come on.
That response to Oscar Wilson
where he read that out
and he was just
what do you think
like someone must have talked
to him about that beforehand,
right?
What do you think
they thought they were doing
when they came up with that plan. Someone wrote that
like, this is how you should.
But like when do you say it is the question
because it had nothing really to do
with the question that was posed to him and then when
Oscar pushed him on it he was just like,
so you're promoting the fight right now? He's like, no, I'm answering your question.
By like reading this
just like. But they must have had some sort of meaning like
hey, Dena, read this and this will be
what do you think they were trying to
accomplish? I think
this is what I'm saying about the event. I think they were
trying to do a thing where he's like above it.
He's above the pettiness, the drama.
He's saying, I'm not going to get into this bullshit with you.
Here's the canned statement.
It's like a fuck you.
Why does he even need the canned statement?
It was two sentences.
I'll tell you why.
Tyson Fury, Anthony, Joshua, December 11th in Cardiff, Wales and Principality Stadium, it's a massive heavyweight bout.
There's two reasons.
One, to the point of why can't he do that?
He doesn't, he's not capable of that anymore.
He is not that guy.
Which is shocking in its own right again.
He is not capable of rattling at all.
anymore.
He's capable of that.
No, he is not.
And number two, he had that because every time he says something that's not scripted,
every time he's trying to go off the cuff, every time he is trying to give a genuine answer,
he is getting caught with gaffes.
People are clipping it, and he is getting embarrassed and dunked on by Eddie Hearn.
And so I don't hate the strategy.
The execution needs some work, but I don't hate the strategy of just like, let me shut the fuck up.
Let me just pretend that this can statement is my will and testament.
But then the problem is Oscar follows up and then he gets into it and then just says more shit that nobody kind of understands.
You're 100% right.
Someone would be like, yo, when someone asks you about this, like, just fucking say it's happening.
Just blow it off.
But you're right, Rick.
I don't know if he can actually pull off that kind of gag.
And I just thought that that was just a weak response.
Like someone must have had a bit of like a, I don't know, a focus group.
Be like, this is how we combat this because we know these questions are coming.
And that's the best that they came up with.
That's the best.
You said they were the smartest minds.
What the hell, Ariel?
Well, I think it might have been like the boots on the ground.
I don't mean, I don't think it came from the top, you know?
Like the tone of the voice changes.
His eyes are like darting around as he's going back from the script back up.
It was one of the moments, most bizarre moments I've seen at one of these press conferences.
Well, also bizarre.
I don't know if bizarre is the word.
You guys know Tyson Fury is clearly on Team Dana and TKO, right?
What gave you that impression?
He's made that very clear.
Tyson and his dad aren't on the same team these.
days, which is interesting. And now there's some talk of John Fury, Tyson's dad, John Fury's brother,
helping out AJ. Now, Tyson put out something on social media being like, John Fury would never do
that because that's what a snake does. Well, I think that was more of like a threat. Anyway,
here's John Fury talking about the whole Dana White situation, which I find to be very interesting
in its own right, and we'll react. What's your folks on Dana White not being involved?
Well, Dana White showed he's got balls like Marifat B's. I run the fucking plane.
I'm on the plane sat right there.
I'm promoting this fucker.
Me, you know, you kiss my dick, pal.
I'm here.
But what do they do?
I'm staying at home.
Yeah.
That's why the fucking presses is fucking boring and that kind of thing.
There's no spark no more, is he?
Nobody's got any bollocks, I'm there?
There's only me got them.
You know, apart from you.
But it was a weird one, the press,
but...
He should have been...
Dana White should have been there, the sausage.
What was his job?
He's not Tyson's asses' ass, 50 mile in the...
America, he's going to do this, he's going to do that.
And you know what it is with Dana White?
You know when he's under pressure, he can't talk?
Can't understand him.
He should have stood as well, fuck you, Eddie, I'm coming.
And he's saying from over the pond, I'm involved.
Where the fuck is he involved that?
He's been met an absolute mug of.
Yeah, why do you think that he lost his voice?
Like, what was that?
Was it a game because of the contracts, because of what he was signed?
Because we know that...
Cahallie, seller, Fredwall, Eddie Hahn.
Bullocks tall.
Forget what a contract say, mate.
Yeah.
If you've got a product
everybody else wants,
they've got to do what you say
or be fucking amicable
on coming to it properly
as a sensible man
and get the job done.
But they've had to concede in every way.
I wouldn't have fucking conceded.
As I've said time and again,
John Fury, the only truth teller
in this business,
he was 100% right.
Everything he said was right.
Old Dana White, PT,
you know this,
would have shown up to that press conference
and said,
you would have been loving it.
He would have been, he would have relish.
He was enthusiastic as Eddie is now.
Yes.
I look at Eddie and I say, that's what Dana was.
Oh, where I can't believe he said something else.
He was dying to put that video out.
This whole thing.
Oh, you know, we just made this video for a bit of fun amongst ourselves.
And then I woke up and he called me a pussy.
So I had to put the video out.
That video was going out all the fucking time.
John Fury, interesting, right?
So the whole talk was Peter Fury about the uncle getting involved with Anthony Joshua.
it.
That seems to have water thrown on a boy Eddie Heron.
One thing I will say, it seems,
Tyson was out with the father over the weekend.
So I don't know if that's kind of cured all those things.
Okay.
Well, one thing I wanted to ask you,
because you went through this,
but you had to hit all the points.
So I didn't want to stop you when you said it.
Okay, okay.
Eddie is,
Eddie is constantly saying that this is a bottle
and that's part of a larger war.
Yep.
But when he is speaking about this event,
it's all about the wins he's having here.
Like, I got it in the UK.
Dana wasn't at the press conference.
These are wins and he constantly highlights them, as he should.
They are wins.
I agree with him on that.
But where do you think he's at in terms of life beyond this event?
When Dana, and as you said, Nick Cannes, all these guys are going to want to come back at him.
And I was, I made a point badly on the crack on Friday in terms of I was trying to highlight, as you did last week,
just all these cornerstones of matrium,
the boxing promotion that isn't really there anymore.
Like Joshua,
this could be his last fight.
Katie Taylor is gone.
Connor Ben has gone to TKO.
Ben Winnecker has not,
did not set the whirl on fire on Saturday.
Could go on to do that in the future,
no doubt about it.
He obviously has boots,
Ennis,
his guys like this.
But my point isn't really about having these guys.
Who are the keepers?
Who are the guys like a Taylor and a Joshua?
And as we once taught Connor Ben,
who will be there and who will be on the front lines with him
in this larger war beyond this event in Wembley
because it feels like TKO,
as much as people were standing back and saying,
sorry, Zouvo boxing and saying,
oh, I wouldn't get involved with this.
They are eating up all of these really talented free agents.
And I fear for him in terms of retaliation
because Dana, as much as we're kind of saying,
he's nonchalant and stuff like that,
he's going to want one back on Eddie here.
And I can see him absolutely going after
come January 2020, 2020.
Yeah, and it's not just Dana.
It's the whole TKO squad.
here's how they'll get him.
They'll get him by signing his guys
or they'll get him by getting him
to overpay for his guys.
For example, how do they sign his guys?
Well, they do what they did with Connor Ben, right?
And they take him away.
You're asking me who are some of the cornerstones, right?
Well, Bam Rodriguez is one of those guys.
And Bam was a free agent, and they drove up the price.
And so that will help hurt Eddie Hearn.
That's part of the reason why Eddie wanted
Bam Rodriguez to be a part of this card
when it was at MSG because
the price is so expensive now for Bam
because they drove up the price when he was a free agent.
There was this whole thing with his trainer, Robert Garcia,
saying we like Zufa and whatnot.
And so that will hurt him.
Either taking away his guys
or driving up the price, forcing him to pay
and thus kind of, you know,
I'm not going to say bankrupting him,
but hurting him in the pocket, if you go what I'm saying.
Another name is Boots Ennis.
Boots Enis is the type of guy
that they would love to have.
Big name, American Star.
And so whenever his deal,
is up, they could either try to get him or at least try to get him to overpay. You saw him lose some,
you know, like the Richardson Hitchens of the world, the Johnny Fischer's of the world, et cetera, the
Jayopatayas, although they weren't working with him anymore by the time he was a free agent. And so
they'll continue to do that. Another interesting name is Ben Whitaker. Now, Ben's stock may not be very
high right now, but he does seem like the kind of guy that they would love to have. He's a showman.
He could sell fights, things of that nature. But, you know, the performances and the
wins need to back that up as well. And what did you know it, Peezy? I was
caught in the crossfire in this war
because last week, Ben Whitaker's
on the show and he's
openly flirting with Dana White
and TKO. He says to me
that he heard a rumor that Dana White's
going to be at his fight in Birmingham. Now, come on,
I've been here before. Dana's got
UFC 332. He just told us he's not flying
over. Why the hell would Dana White be at
a matchroom show in Birmingham on Saturday
when he's got his own event? It made no sense
but he was saying it and so I was
asking him questions. And then he said one
word that I thought was really, really interesting.
or two words, one phrase.
And I just did my job and was continuing to ask about it.
In case you missed it, here's Ben Whitaker on the show last week talking about Dana White.
So is there any sort of sense of loyalty towards Eddie you're like, hey, I'm a matron guy or you're open for business?
Yeah, I really like Matron.
What they've done for me is great.
Like I said, they're moving me good.
They're giving me a lot of promotion.
And it's a good team.
So for me, I'm right right now.
I'm all right right now.
That's very different than A.J. saying, I'm matrim for life.
Katie's saying, I'm Eddie's gal for life.
I'm all right right now.
And my follow-up there was, wait a second, right now, what does that mean?
And it went on and on for a few minutes.
And this blew up.
And I'm getting texts afterwards.
Hey, he's with us and, you know, the three-year deal.
And he's not going anywhere and he's very happy.
And so I'm just, you know, I was giving him the layup.
to say, that's my guy.
He's taking a chance on me.
He wanted to sign me before the boxer deal.
They gave me a great deal.
I'm Team Eddie.
I'm Team U.K.
I'm backing him.
I'm a Team G.B. guy, Silver medal at the Olympics.
That's my guy.
I'm backing him until the end.
He said for right now.
I mean, excuse me, my dear wife,
do you love me?
Of course, till death due us part.
Excuse me, miss.
Do you love me?
Yeah, I love you for now.
It's a bit of a different situation.
It's a bit of a different situation.
It's a bit of a knife in the heart.
And so, Dana, excuse me, Eddie is asked about this the next day when he's doing media.
And somehow, I'm the naughty one.
I'm the bad guy.
Now, he's not going to call out his own guy before his fight.
Easier to do that, right?
Easier to be like, fuck Ariel in that situation.
I would say naughty on Eddie's part for making me into the villain here.
If you missed it, here's what he said.
What was your reaction to Ben Whisker on Ariel, the war news, kind of flirting with the whole thing?
I thought Ariel was a bit naughty with it, if I'm honest,
because, like, Ben Wittick is 10 months into a three-year deal.
Okay, pause, pause.
We've got a great relation.
Pause, pause.
I literally asked Ben, how many fights are left on your deal?
Oh, yeah, I can't talk about that.
I can tell you right now how much LeBron James, Cole Palmer, Jude Bellingham,
Elliot Anderson, Morgan Gibbs White, Jalen Brunson, Kevin Duran are making to the penny.
We all know this.
And yet I have the audacity to ask how many fights left or years?
We don't know that.
Who knew that?
Was that widely reported that it was a three-year deal?
I must have missed it.
And so I just asked them how many fights didn't tell me.
He didn't tell me any of this information.
If you would have said, I got two years left, that's it.
He didn't say that.
He left the door open.
He's happy right now.
We continue.
Things couldn't be better.
But Ben's very good also, like creating a little bit of noise.
He made a throwaway comment about Dana White coming on Saturday,
which was obviously a joke in the current environment,
unless he is coming,
and he's more than welcome to, unlikely.
And then he was like, well, you've got two fights left?
He's like, well, I'm trying to figure it out.
I don't want to say, because that's Ben.
Hell dare you are you.
I'm watching it going, oh, Ben.
Like that, but that's just him.
Because of the Conner Ben situation, do you have to?
By the way, they have reached out to him.
Yeah.
Because we were told about it.
So that's it.
Do you have to be more kind of, I guess, not more on top of contracts,
but is that now a thing for you where you're big stars in?
Well, no, you have to know where you stand on your contracts.
I mean, Conner Ben was out contracts.
My mistake, because I trusted him.
Ben has two years left on his contract.
So it's not even like, and he, I see, you know, he seems like, oh, did you see what?
I'm like, mate, any chance.
I'd rather you went, this is the guy, right?
My guy, Eddie Hearn.
And I'm like, fucking.
And I'll go, I'll go, I'll work more hours in the day for you.
But he's got his own style.
And I felt like Ariel was like, you know, he gave him nothing in the respect to it.
But he just sort of, oh, hell, I can't say that been head dive bombing in my DM.
That's just bad, Ariel.
No.
This is because Ariel can't stand Dana.
So he wants to cause a little bit of trouble with the whole thing.
And by the way, if I can't stand Dana,
why am I causing trouble in that I'm asking Ben about signing with Dana?
If I can't stand Dana, then shouldn't I be Team Eddie in this regard?
That has nothing to do with anything.
Why would I be causing trouble for matchroom if I can't stand Dana?
Do you see how that doesn't make any sense?
Ben brought up Dana.
Ben changed his Instagram picture to Benjamin,
Franklin, you know, money, he knows exactly what he's doing. But yet I'm the bad guy.
Point is, I don't care. I'm not trying to create some sort of problem with Eddie Hearn or
Ben Whitaker or anyone like that. But this is the game. So going back to your question,
P.C., because they're reminding me of all this. This is what they'll do. They'll create
some sort. Now, is there someone flirting with Ben? They can't necessarily flirt with Ben because
he's got two years left, as we've just learned. But they will create very hard decisions for
Eddie to make and the team, do we keep this guy? Do we not? Johnny Fisher, they decided not.
Connor Ben, they decided not. Bam Rodriguez, they decided yes. As opposed, like, they are going to
raid their talent pool. Is Frank Warren trying to raid his talent pool right now? Is Golden Boy doing that?
Is PBC doing that? Is top rank? I don't think so. TKO will try to do that. And they will be
successful in many, in many respects. Well, this is what I'm trying to say. A Taylor and a Joshua,
Boots is not.
Bam is not.
There is no way you're going to tell me
these guys' contracts coming to an end
and they're like, no way,
I'm with Eddie,
Truticenton,
like Anthony Joshua,
Katie Taylor.
I just don't see them like that.
So that's what I'm asking
in terms of where are the pillars
of this foundation here?
I don't know if they have those guys
because they haven't been around as long,
but I would say top of my head,
bam, boots,
they want Ben to be that guy.
Pat Brown?
We're ways away.
We're a ways away, though.
But that's what I'm saying.
It's different.
It's a different situation they're in now.
And they will be beyond 2020 into 2027.
If this does happen to be Joshua's last fight, who is a stakeholder in Matron, who is the face, you know, the boxing face of Matron.
One thing to think about, though, there's no doubt they're going to come after that talent.
They don't have the number of shows to sustain a roster that includes all those guys either, though.
Like, they can't, they can't raid the cupboard of every single promotion.
There's just going to be too many.
there's going to be too many.
Are you talking about Zufa?
Yeah, Zufa.
Yeah, but they're going to up it.
They're going to up it.
They've got unlimited funds
and they've got a Paramount Plus
partner that is going to give them all the air time in the world.
They'll be just fine.
It feels unsubes.
Yeah.
Okay, I mean, you get into the problem that PFL and others have, right?
We already saw it, with Connor Ben.
You don't have enough people to match them with.
You can do that until the cows come home,
but you're not going to have enough people to match them with.
They can't do it to everybody.
They can't raid every.
Everybody's covered. They can't get every big name. They're going to come after a significant portion of them, and they're probably going to be successful in getting a few of them. It's not sustainable to get all of them. They won't have the fights for them. They have unlimited funds until they don't. I mean, we've seen Sela pull out of several things. Live golf, for example, has gone by the wayside. You mentioned the awards earlier. They have unlimited funds until they don't if it doesn't end up working out.
Yeah, but I don't think the success of Zufa hinges on Sela or Saudi Arabia.
In other words, if they pulled out right now, they've got plenty of funds to run this whole thing on their own and be very successful.
They're making billions and billions of dollars.
They don't need them.
It's just a great deal because someone's bankrolling your thing.
It's kind of like when an NBA player, like when Jalen Brunson goes to a restaurant in New York and they give him free food and yet the guy who's on minimum wage doesn't get the free food, he doesn't need the free meal, but they're giving it to him.
And that's Zufa in this.
They don't need someone to bankroll their boxing endeavors,
pardon the pun,
but they've got someone who's willing to do so
because they want to be in business with them
from a sporting and entertainment standpoint,
because of Ari, because of Nick,
because of Mark Shapiro and these guys.
And so I don't think that, like,
I think that's just gravy for them.
I think they'll be just fine.
I think that helped kickstart it.
And going back to what, you know,
what's the point of all of this,
don't forget, when this was all announced
in March of 2025,
they said we're going to crush everyone.
including Turkey himself.
How was Eddie supposed to react to that?
If he would have been like, yeah, no problem, guys, come right up.
He would have been the P word.
He would have been the weak one.
And so he took those words seriously.
And so here he is trying to fight back.
And it's playing out.
And it's gotten expedited because of this particular fight.
It wouldn't have been this hot if it wasn't for this fight.
By the way, going back to the Ben Whitaker fight, we briefly touched on it.
Did you guys like the walkout?
Was the walkout cool?
Did it hit?
I thought it was pretty good.
Look at this.
This is the taker walkout with the orchestra?
Is the taker walkout played out?
No.
Taker walkout's fine.
This was better than Izzy's.
You have the reinvent it.
Yeah, you have the voilands and shit.
It's different.
The taker walkout is eternal.
Some of these wrestling walkouts are iconic that will never.
But because others have done it.
Nah, they didn't do it like this.
Yeah, this is done in a different way.
I like the orchestra.
I like just popping up.
When he came out to the orchestra
playing Drake at Selhurst Park,
that's my favorite one of all time.
But he is a showman,
and people are going to knock him
for the way the fight ended.
But he did win that fight,
Fair and Square.
He was showing him all.
Our friend Dan Kenobi over at Inside Boxing
called him a hype job.
I don't know.
I mean, it's Connor Wallace.
Sixth time or champion, lads.
No, no, I'm saying like,
he did win nine.
out of those 12 rounds decisively.
And so...
Integral member of Connor McGregor's
come for an idea
second time around.
There it is.
The differences.
Why does he live in Australia?
I don't know.
Anyway, he was playing with his food
and then he got caught
and then this stuff happened.
And it was weird.
Now, the part that's going to kill him
in the aftermath
is how he reacts to all of this, right?
And so here he is in the post-fight interview
which we spoke about earlier
and some of the fans may not have like,
This essentially the hometown crowd.
He's from Wolverhampton, Pizzi, home of wolves.
You know, wolves, you know, Coonia and all those guys.
It's all the black country.
It's a home, it's a home event.
It's like Joey Herbert fights in Birmingham.
He's going to get a fucking load of people.
Anyway, here's what he had to say after the fight.
Dominating every round.
I got to a point probably way it was too easy, if I'm honest.
Switch stuff in just because he won one round, two rounds out max.
You know, people think it's an amazing.
performance for him.
But at the end of the day, I won.
Probably two rounds down, in my opinion.
But unto the next man,
if he wants to get smoked again, he can do.
But there's a lot to learn.
I still with my coach Andy.
He was saying some amazing things
and I waved it off sometimes.
I was trying to impress the crowd
probably a bit too much,
but it's all learning,
12 rounds under my belt.
I've been cleaning them out a bit early now.
And even in there,
I hurt him a lot.
Do you know what I mean?
I hurt him a lot, wobbled him, I'm fair played to him.
He kept coming back, so it was a good fight, he enjoyed it.
Yeah, lest we forget, his last, I think, four fights all lasted like a combined two rounds.
He does have one of the best trainers by his side, Andy Lee.
And that wasn't controversial like the Liam Cameron fight was controversial.
And so, yeah, it's sort of like your final impression is your lasting impression.
The way the fight ended wasn't the best, but to me it wasn't controversial.
It was just a little bit scary.
Would it be smart to put him in there against the bivol?
I don't know.
Would it be smart to run it back?
I don't think so, to be honest.
Why not?
Because it wasn't controversial.
It was hairy at the end, but I don't think he, I don't think
Connor Wallace got robbed.
So what are you acknowledging if you run it back?
If you are his promoter and say run it back, you're like,
I don't think he's ready and this is the best we can do.
There's other people.
I heard the guys, the inside boxing guys,
mentioned Anthony Yard.
Older, Brit,
that makes sense.
A great fight.
That's a name.
To run a back
with the same dude
who isn't the biggest name
but as tough and respected
within boxing circles
doesn't make a ton of sense for me.
I still think he's great.
I just think maybe they need to
pump the brakes just a bit
and Bivel's not going to be sticking around
and to be honest,
I didn't even think Bivel would take that fight.
Maybe he would take it now
after seeing that last three rounds
but I didn't even think he was going to take the fight
to begin with.
So all to say,
say these are the types of guys that I think they'll come after, but we learned last week
that he's got two years left.
How do you think he feels, though?
Like, I was watching this post for an interview situation, and you had Eddie up there
kind of talking about maybe the rematch.
Oh, it was with Eddie.
I was like, yeah, I'm actually with you there.
I don't think that's a bad idea.
And I'm also with you in terms of, I think Whitaker's really great.
Like, I think he's quality.
It's just the optics of those last couple of rounds.
They don't have you jumping up and down for the Bivel for you.
immediately, right? But as Eddie is saying this, Whitaker does not look happy and then the
moit gets past him again and he's talking about Bivel. So you have two sides of this who are
wanting different things, which I'm sure happens an awful lot. But it's just after, you know,
yes, stirring it up so much. Yes. And this happens, you know. I was thinking of that. Is there
some sort of dissension here? I don't know. But yes, you don't know. That's just what Ben's like.
It's just how Ben is. You know, he jokes. Maybe that's why people love him. I was thinking
the exact same thing, I was thinking, okay, who's the naughty one now?
I don't think he was upset by any of the comments.
As I said, he changed his profile picture to Benjamin Franklin.
So let's see.
Let's see how it all plays out.
Oscar Delahoeia is going to join us, hopefully in a couple minutes to talk about all
of this, plus the Floyd Schofield, Lucas Body title fight that's airing on TNT and DeZone
this weekend, Ryan Garcia, all that stuff for more.
While we're talking about boxing, our good friend Plinyo Cruz is fighting.
this weekend on misfits as well.
It was supposed to be a misfits
heavyweight title fight against Chase DeMore.
But now it appears as though
Chase DeMore is out of the fight
and Plinyo Cruz is actually fighting his coach
Gary Olive, the old switcheroo.
He's out of the fight.
The one we've been waiting for.
This is the one.
So he's now fighting Gary Olive
in a battle of coaches.
As they tweeted right there,
this just got very interesting.
All right
So maybe Gary will figure out
What Cruz is all about
And then he'll fight his guy
Plino on social media
Calling Cap on the injury
You are a liar
A coward
And a scared
Beech
I thought I was fighting Pinocchio
But he lied and ran away
So they gave me his master Geppetto
At least now I get to clean
The entire Disney circus
Out of Misfits boxing
Come on
Boy
Yeah.
I feel like, listen, I'm going out on the limb here.
I feel like there could be some kind of fracas before this week.
I feel like maybe at the press, face off.
I think they need to get some extra security because I have a feeling.
As long as they've got Ben the Bain in there with the microphone.
Legend.
When he's doing this, he's the best.
He's an intrepid reporter, just looking for the scoop.
By the way, speaking of heavyweights,
Tai Tui Vasa was on social media kind of joking
around about his heavyweight future. Here's what he had to say. Someone said, had a crack. Well,
he said, had a crack no good. Sorry all my people, as I fell short again. Thank you, Jesus, for all my
blessings. Been chilling with the family. And I'm way too blessed to be stressed. Thank you.
We put in the work, didn't get the job done, back to work. Someone said, are you still in the UFC?
Not KFC. Now, people took that as him being released, but I was told no decision on his future
just yet. So I think he was just being a little cheeky there. Some good news from Haone Barcellos.
He was on social media giving an update. And it seems as though he is in good spirits, but still in
Las Vegas. Here's what Haone, who had that scary scene in Vegas two weekends ago now, had to say,
hey guys, just wanted to let you know that I'm fine. I'm staying in Las Vegas for a medical procedure
and to be closely monitored.
I'm out of any risk with an excellent recovery and okay exams.
I thank UFC for all the support they've been giving me,
and I can't thank you all enough for the positive vibes for my recovery.
Words can't express so much affection, so many prayers and beautiful messages.
I'll keep you updated here.
So that is good news as far as Heone Barcelos is concerned.
I hope that he makes a very speedy recovery,
and still unclear if you'll fight again or anything like that.
But for now, the fact that he's able to walk out of the hospital,
the fact that he's able to speak, I mean, it was just absolutely terrifying.
Probably, as we talked about last week, probably the scariest moment that I can recall in the UFC.
I mean, we've seen some scary knockouts.
I mean, the Mick Parkin knockout on Saturday was pretty damn scary.
But usually they'll get up, and certainly by the time the next fight happens,
like we haven't seen someone get stretched out like that and look as stiff as he did.
And it was, yeah, it was supremely unsettling.
Supremely unsettling.
By the way, I wanted to mention that uncrown beat tomorrow will be doing a deep dive more
into the world of boxing.
Kenobio is going to join us.
Darshang, our guy, everything,
boxing going to join us, and Pizzi is going to join us as well. So I'm looking forward to that
trio. You can now obviously still watch the Uncrown Beat on Amazon Fire TV. It usually comes out
late Tuesday. Definitely by early Wednesday. We have our own section. We showed you how to get there.
Hopefully you remember. But also, we will be now posting the full episodes on uncrown.com.
I tweeted the link last week. I also posted it on Instagram as well. And so if you
you don't live in the United States or if you don't have Amazon Fire TV, you can watch them all
on uncrown.com, which I know some people were upset about them not being made available.
And so there's good news.
We'll also be posting the audio on the audio feeds on the weekend as of this weekend.
So I think we've done five episodes so far.
We'll be posting all of those on the website and on the audio feed.
But if you live in the United States and you've got Amazon Fire TV,
I certainly hope that you will be able to check it out on Amazon Fire TV because that definitely helps us out.
And so we would appreciate you support them because they support us.
It's always great to be joined by the one and only, the inimitable, the incomparable,
Oscar Delahoya, who of course is the chairman, CEO and founder of Golden Boy Promotions.
They have a big show coming up this weekend, October 10th, at the Winst Center,
over in, excuse me, the Winst Arena, to be exact.
I don't want you to go to the wrong spot.
Over in Chicago, Illinois, it's in partnership with MVP.
The main event is a great one.
Kid Austin Floyd Schofield, who's coming off of that incredible knockout of Tevin Farmer.
I was in attendance for that fight back in June of 2025.
That was on the Jake Paul Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. card going up against Lucas
Body of Canada for the very.
vacant WBA lightweight title that was a belt most recently held by Dervante Tank Davis.
This is going to air on DeZone and also on TNT, and those cards and broadcasts have been great.
Let's speak to Oscar about that and a whole lot more right here and now.
Kind enough to join us.
Hello, Oscar.
How are you?
Great to see you.
Good, good.
Ariel.
How are you?
I'm great.
Thank you so much for the time.
This fight, I love this fight, and I love the fact that it's on TNT.
I'm assuming you love the fight as well.
Kid Austin Floyd, Schofield coming off that great win.
Tell us why you like it.
Tell us what you like so much about it.
The matchup is stylistically, it should end by knockout.
Obviously, I have my guy Schofield winning, but this matchup here, both guys are knockout
punchers.
Both guys come to fight.
If you remember, Badi having that spectacular knockout on the Jake Paul versus Mike Tyson
fight on Netflix, which went viral all over the world.
So we're excited to bring back another world title to the fighters we promote.
I think Schofield is ready.
He's determined, and I feel that this is the next generation of fighters who are going to really make some big noise.
I've heard you compare Floyd Schofield to Sugar Ray Leonard.
That is massive, massive praise, Oscar.
Why? Why do you feel that he is going to be that good?
He has Sugary Leonard's, you know, his willpower.
He will win at any cost.
And that's what I love about a fighter like Kid Austin.
He's a fighter who has all those skills in the world.
He's fast, he's strong.
He's been in situations where,
You know, he's almost going to get beat and he comes back and knocks the guy out.
So he has that will, that that, that, that, that special ingredient that makes you great.
And so Kit Austin fighting for his first world title this Saturday against a very difficult opponent,
it's going to be very tallying of what the future is for, for this division.
I really do believe that Kit Austin can wipe out the division and become undisputed.
You've worked with the MVP guys before.
How's this one coming along?
How is it working with them?
No, they're great.
They're great.
I mean, look, we have professional teams who know what they're doing.
You know, come fight.
Now it's up to me and Jake Paul, you know, to promote this fight
and make sure that millions of people know who Lucas Padillas
and who know who Kid Austin is.
So that's our job.
Our job is to put everything together.
We have great teams who are.
you know, doing the production, who are setting up the arena, making sure that everything goes
flawless, and then it's up to the fighters to go out there and perform.
And speaking of the production, this is also going to be airing on TNT.
This deal started in July where they pick a big show every month in association and
partnership with DeZone.
Does that change your deal?
Like, do you benefit from this as well from a monetary standpoint, or is it just your
fighters getting more shine on a bigger platform?
Yeah, no, everybody benefits from it.
You know, we have a great deal with the zone and TNT is just taking it to the next level.
And who's benefiting from it is the fighter.
That's all that matters here is the fighter.
You know, every time I promote, every time I get on camera, every time I speak and it goes viral and this and that,
it's doing it for the sport of boxing.
It's doing it for the fighter, for the fight that I'm promoting at the time.
So, you know, we're excited that it's on TNT.
They have great traction right now.
They're getting millions and millions of views on linear TV, which is incredible.
So I'm excited about this partnership, excited about October 10th,
because we've been involved with so many world titles, Ariel.
So many world titles.
Going back to my very first world champion way back in the day.
And getting Deonti Waldo world title.
All these fighters, Canelo and Ryan, so this to me, getting Kid Austin in this position and fighting for the world title is so special because, like I said, it's the next generation of fighters that we're building.
And I do want to correct myself, Oscar.
Next week is on T&T, not this week.
So I got mixed up there as far as the events are concerned.
So that's on me.
But it still speaks to how good it is for the fighters to have these opportunities to fight on the platform.
This one is exclusively on DeZone.
So that is my bad.
But I do want to correct myself and say that it was my mistake and not yours.
Right, but TNT has been doing a great job.
They have been doing a great job.
They had Andy Ruiz.
They had Abdullah Mason on back in July.
So I do love it.
Williams, Sepeda.
That's right.
So I got a little excited.
I'm sorry.
Next weekend, it will be TNT Fondora fighting on that card.
Okay.
There's a lot to talk to you about, obviously, speaking of your fighters.
I've been dying to speak to you.
Your great PR lady, Jane, will know that I hit her up almost.
daily to have you on because I was dying to hear your thoughts on Ryan Garcia versus Connor Ben.
I'm sure you saw it. First, we ask, why weren't you there, Oscar? Everyone wanted to see if you
would be at the fight, if you would attend. Ryan said he wanted you there. Can you give us your side
of the story? Why weren't you at the fight? Well, first of all, I will give the ultimate clapback
Oh.
And times do.
Okay, I will, I will, in due time, I will give the ultimate clapback.
There's no doubt about it.
I'm saving all my information and everything that I've been gathering.
It's going to be, it's going to be incredible.
I can't really say, talk to you about it now.
But when I do talk about it, it's going to be mind blowing.
Is the clapback on Ryan or on TKO or on someone else?
Oh, it's going to be on TKO.
It's going to be on, you know, just several entities.
Let's just put it that way.
Okay.
But it's going to be explosive.
It's going to be incredible.
It's going to be the clapback of the century.
You're going to be stunned.
You're going to be shocked, Ariel.
Wow.
And people look, and I really can't give you details.
Okay.
But when I say it's going to be shocking, it's going to be crazy.
It's going to be.
When is that?
Is that this Thursday?
And you know that it's the truth.
Okay.
I know that it's all the facts.
Sure.
So, yeah, it's going to be, it's going to blow your mind.
Is that this week?
Hopefully, I'm just waiting for the right moments.
You know, the smoke is settling and the event, you know, the event turned out excellent for Ryan Garcia.
He had the great knockout.
I'm very happy for him.
Oh, but the fact that they kept me out of it, ooh.
So tell us, Oscar, can you please tell us more?
What do you mean when you say they kept you out of it?
because there were conflicting reports.
He wanted you there.
Then maybe you couldn't walk him out, but you had a seat.
You were invited.
Dana was unclear about it.
So what happened from your perspective?
Everyone's dying to know.
Yeah, well, first of all, Dana, Dana has no say whatsoever.
He doesn't have any pull here.
He doesn't, you know, it's, let's just say that I cannot talk about it until the smoke clears,
which is going to be in a few days.
Okay.
Okay.
Yeah, there's some legalities that we have to deal with and all that.
stuff. So, but look, I have clapback for a reason and that's to tell you the truth.
And once my muzzle is off, ooh, man, I can't wait.
Were you surprised that he disposed of Connor Ben that quickly and easily?
No, but not at all. Not at all. It's the way it's supposed to happen.
I mean, look, think, look, I love Connor Ben. I really do because he's a real, he's a real guy.
He talks with honesty and truth behind everything, he says.
But he had no business been in there with Ryan Garcia.
I mean, look, and I've been saying this all along.
I love the fact that boxing is huge in the UK and it's taken off.
And the zone has been, you know, supporting Eddie Hearn and they've been building the business in the UK.
And I love all that.
But what's happening is that the fighters, the fighters are not really developing to that championship level.
Because it seems like it's all just regional in the UK, right?
And once you come to the U.S. and fight the real talent like a Ryan Garcia, then you see the reality of the UK boxing.
It's subpar.
It's second class to the U.S. boxing.
I mean, that Ryan Garcia wiped him out in two rounds.
I mean, that's the reality.
He has one fight left with you now, right?
Yes, he does.
One fight.
And when do you expect that fight to happen?
Not sure yet.
We're hoping that we can sit down fairly soon
and map out the next fight for him.
which should be massive.
I think that this division right now is so hot
and Ryan is the hottest fighter right now.
So, you know, we're excited to start talks very soon.
If it was up to you, who does he fight?
The guy that I wanted in the first place, Devin Haney.
Right.
I mean, Devin Haney and T.O. Fimo are the biggest fights out there for Ryan.
And Ryan's at an elite level right now.
He's the guy who should be fighting the top guys and the very best.
You know, Ryan has, what I love about Ryan is that he has something very competitive in him
where he wants to fight the very best and he wants to show the world that he is the best.
So, you know, a Tio Fimo or a Devin Haney is the perfect choice for him.
Do you think he'll be in business with him after that one fight?
It all depends on him.
You know, he knows exactly what type of job I did for him.
You know, he knows exactly how I work and how we got him, you know, to all those opportunities, the world titles and everything, you know.
We've done great by him.
You know, our differences outside the ring or whatever it might be, you know, it's, it's, you know, those are situations that, you know, fighters go through and promote.
and you have your differences.
But look, I think the job at hand that we've done as a promoter.
And even as a person, I've always treated him, you know, right fairly.
But if you judge me by the work that we've done for him, it's been outstanding.
I mean, I feel proud of what we've done for his career.
Have you spoken to him after the fight?
Yeah, yeah, I have, actually.
Okay.
Yeah, yeah.
It's all good.
You would characterize the relationship now as all good.
You guys are in a good place?
Yeah, it's good.
Look, look, look, a boxer and a promoter,
especially when you're at the elite level,
you're always going to have your differences, you know.
And so, look, the great Bob Marem once told me,
look, do not fall in love with fighters because they will break your heart.
And I understand that.
I've understood that for years now.
I don't take it personal anymore.
I just do my job and, you know, and promote the next guy and keep promoting the next guy.
I'm going to stick around for in boxing for a very long time.
And I enjoy what I do.
I love what I do.
And I love creating world champions.
As you guys are talking about that next fight, will you try to secure him in a long-term deal before the last fight is fought?
Or do you think it will play out where he fights and then he'll go into free agency?
I think, look, my job is to get on the next big fight because that's what my contract says.
and if he wants to sit down afterwards and discuss things and talk about future
fights and deals then I'm all for it.
I'm here I'm here for Ryan whenever he needs me.
Do you think Zufa is going to come after him?
He seemed very happy.
He was very complimentary of the experience, as I'm sure you saw.
Yeah, he was very complimentary and I'm glad that it turned out great for him
because it's Ryan's career that's on the line.
And so, but no, I don't think he'll go with Zoufa.
I don't think that's a good fit for him.
Why not?
It's just not.
I think the fact right now that Dane is getting so much heat for not knowing what he's doing.
It's just crazy.
I mean, you know, the fact that he's getting heat from the UFC fans
and he's getting heat in the boxing world, it's like, what are you doing?
you're in podiums,
you're on the day
not knowing
what you're saying
and what you're doing.
It's crazy.
I mean,
I've seen his last press conferences
where Eddie Hearn is just cooking him
because Dana White doesn't know what he's doing.
He's not the guy that is in charge.
He's maybe like the third or fourth guy.
He's just Uncle Fester
who is right there in front of the camera
fucking can't even give an interview
because he's fucking cursory.
at the at the at the uh you know at the at the reporters i mean what kind of what kind of promoter is
that all you can say is shit and fuck this and fuck that like be be be be a professional
are you surprised to see this version of him playing out no that's that's that's that's
that's who he is i mean i'm sure i'm sure i'm sure i'm sure steroids gets you a little you know
amped up but i mean give me a break dude you're professional you're you're you're supposed to be
the face of the UFC
and the face of Zoufa, you know, act like
it. How do you feel
about the way this is all playing out with him and
Eddie and, you know,
the back and forth? I know, I see
you commenting on it. I'm sure that's you
on Instagram and whatnot.
It is, it is. Okay.
So what do you think about all this? I'm dying to know.
I never thought I would say this, but I'm on
team Eddie's side.
It is
the funniest thing I've ever seen.
I mean, these guys just don't
stop. And you know Eddie, I mean, Eddie's Eddie, Eddie's just funny. You know, he's harmless. He's funny.
That's why Eddie and I get along so well now. You know, we had our differences and, you know,
he knows exactly what he has to do for his fighters. And he's a promoter. But I'm just sitting
back right here, collecting all my information, having a great time listening to these guys,
bickering back and forth. But I have to, I have to say,
I am Team Eddie right now because he's cooking Dana.
Dana keeps saying judge me by the end of the year as far as...
Oh, I will.
I would have to judge him like there's no tomorrow.
My gosh.
How's it going?
10 months in, how is it going?
Well, let's just say if I was a teacher, he would be getting an F.
Why?
Halfway, you know, because what has he done?
All they do is rent.
Fighters, all they do is like, you know, they don't know how to build champions.
They don't know how to build fighters from scratch.
I mean, it's crazy. It's ridiculous.
You know, this sport of boxing, you have to be invested emotionally and you have to put in your time and get to know the fighters and make it personal.
Dana doesn't know shit about fighters.
He doesn't want to get to know them.
all about a number for him.
You take a look at TKO and
the UFC. It's all about
numbers and their shareholders.
Boxing is more personal.
You have to know the fighters. You have to
have some interest
in their lives and make
sure that they're okay. Make sure that they
are treated
correctly. I mean, not send an
email
firing a fighter. You don't do it like
that. That's not the way to do things.
not in boxing.
And so are you surprised that he's doing this?
Like he has a very successful business that is the UFC that sort of runs itself at this point.
I know you say the press garbage, but like the insistence on coming over to boxing and trying to wedge himself into this big fight, does that surprise you or is that what you expect that of him?
It's what I expect.
And it's not him.
Look, I have to, I have to call it the way it is.
I mean, look, it's Nick Khan is the guy who's, you know, running the.
the show. You know, you have Zufa who's owned by Turkey and, you know, 60%. So all these guys are
running the show. Dana's just there, you know, looking confused on the, on the dais trying
to answer questions. The guys who are pulling the strings, you know, are the ones who are the
ones who are, you know, really building TKO and Zufa. But if I were to give Dana a grade, it's a
fail. You were in Washington.
right next to Nick Khan testifying the Ali Act hearings.
It seems as though that's moving along.
The guy sitting next to you on your side was Nico Ali Walsh,
and now he seems to be happy with where things stand.
He's gone some heat for this.
How do you feel like that has all played out?
Yeah, I don't know exactly what took place in the Nico Walsh,
in the Nico Walsh meeting he had with NICON.
I have no idea what's at place, but I don't know if they promised him it would be different.
I don't know if they, you know, I don't know exactly what happened.
But I just hope that fighters are protected, and that's the bottom line.
You know, if Nico Walsh feels confident in TKO and what they're going to do and what they're trying to change,
then, you know, I mean, so be it.
But I sure hope that they follow, they follow, you know, they keep their word and make sure that they protect fighters.
Are you content with where it stands?
The latest details that we got on it that's going to try to finally pass through and become an actual thing, this Revival Act.
Do you like the amendments?
Do you like the little changes?
They're just amendments.
Yeah.
There are amendments and there changes.
Amendments.
It's like, I mean, I don't know.
I am so sick and tired of amendments, you know, in contracts and this, and then you change the goalpost and this and that.
Look, the bottom line is the Muhammad Ali Act was in place for a reason, which was protecting fighters.
It needed no change whatsoever.
That's my stance on it.
Okay.
So I would imagine you're not too happy about this passing through.
We'll see.
Okay.
And so as far as, I just wanted to go back real quick to Ryan Garcia, if I can.
You said you had a big surprise earlier in the week.
And then nothing played out in terms of you being involved.
What was the big surprise?
You remember that video?
I watch all your videos.
Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah.
I was going to walk out Ryan with Julio Caesar Chavez.
Okay.
And then what happened?
Yeah.
That would have been, that would have been.
Incredible.
Yeah.
Yeah.
No, then I received, yeah, I received the call in the morning from Ryan that he's got somebody else.
So that's exactly what happened.
Do you think that was his decision or someone else's?
I don't know.
I don't know.
It would have been pretty cool for me and Chavez.
Imagine that walking him out.
He said that he would have loved to see you, like, sitting ringside,
even if you couldn't walk him out.
Why did you ultimately decide not to go to the event?
I didn't have my ringside tickets.
They didn't give you that.
I didn't have my ringside tickets.
Did they give you any tickets?
Well, they gave me tickets, but not where I was contractually obligated to sit down.
Okay.
I didn't have my ticket, so.
But look, I know you want to take shit out of me and make me spill the beans, but I'm going to give you the ultimate clap back very soon.
All right.
I know it's going to be, you're going to love it.
Oscar, is one of the greatest boxes of all times.
Certainly you can appreciate a little stick and move.
So I had to come back to it.
thinking that maybe your guard was down.
And you know, you understand.
Go to a little bit to the body, invest in that,
and then come back up top.
So hopefully you can understand.
And most of the time we spill the beans, but not this time, Ariel.
No problem.
I'm trying.
Can I ask you about the report regarding Turkey selling the ring to DeZone?
What do you make of this?
Is it true from what you understand?
I keep on hearing rumors, but I really don't know.
I keep on, you know, rumors and boxing are like you take it with a grain of salt.
But I just really don't know
But I'll tell you one thing
The ring brand and the magazine
It's gone to shit
I mean it's not
It's no secret
It's like
It's not
It's worthless
It doesn't mean anything anymore
The reputation, it's credibility
Jesus
I really do hope that the next entity
That
if it's being sold that buys it
I hope they restore it to its original
you know
because the ring
the ring was a trusted brand
globally when I had it
and now it's just
it's literally just gone to shit
I mean you know the rankings are terrible
the propaganda
the bias of oh my God
the ring show have you seen the ring show
with Max Kellerman
it is so bad
his reputation is down the drain
it's crazy
yeah what do you make of that
it's I don't know
it's actually what it is that he's
doing, but he's really
ruined his reputation. I mean, talking about
going from
100 to zero, it's
crazy. And
Calarman's a smart guy. I just don't know what the hell
he's doing. Do you think it would be
good in DeZone's hands? Do you think DeZone
can do well with it? Oh, if they
buy it or if they
purchase it, yeah. If they acquire
it, yeah.
If they
take care of the ranking system,
if they if they you know when I had it I had I had I had writers from all over the world
kind of like be on the board yeah and and and all those writers would get together
and they would rank the fighters and they would you know and we would fall and I had nothing
to do with it it was it was part of a different company that I was that I was handling but
um you know the writing was not biased everything was you know just
honest and and and that's why the ring magazine was so was so you know prestigious but
now it's like my gosh it's can it come back absolutely if somebody really wants it to
come back they can they can you know build back that prestige in no time there seems
to be a thought that maybe Turkey's influence and an investment in boxing is
waning this might be a signal to that you know some of their other deals in sports
are going away do you think that will be a good thing or a bad thing
for the sport?
Well, look, the way I see boxing now, it's a big mess.
It's worse than it's ever been.
I've been in boxing for 20-something years now as a promoter.
Boxing is in the worst place it's ever been.
All these top guys are waiting for that ultimate purse.
Guys, you have to fight.
You have to prove yourself.
You have to become world champion and continue your career.
You can just be idle and wait for the big money to come.
What if it never comes?
What if this is live 2.0 all over again?
So do you think ultimately it would be better off if they aren't as involved?
Because, you know, you say, Oscar, with all due respect, you say that it's a mess, and I understand that.
But there was once a time where, like, HBO had their fighters, Showtime had their fighters, and they never fought each other.
At least now, we do see those crossovers more.
We have seen a lot of the big fights being made.
there's a lot of money and some of them are happening in arenas with no one there in Saudi Arabia.
But we have been seeing the big fights being made over the past five years, no?
Well, we've seen some.
Yeah, we've seen some.
We've seen a sprinkle of a handful of fights, you know, that have been taking place all because, you know, it's expensive to make these huge fights happen.
And what does Turkey do?
You know, he has the, he has the PIF, you know, money to cover that, that expense.
So, yeah, we've seen a few fights, a handful of them, which is great for boxing, but boxing is a business, you know, that that you have to maintain year long.
We don't want, we just don't want fights the first quarter or the last quarter of the year.
No, we want great fights throughout the whole year that leads up to something for the next year.
We want to continue building world champions, you know.
I truly feel that of all the fighters that are out there, world champions and contenders,
the top elite fighters, they're not fighting each other.
Are you surprised to see Canelo finish out his career fighting in Saudi Arabia?
I'm not. I'm not surprised. He's sold out. He's a sellout. I mean, how you have the biggest
Mexican fighter on the planet fighting on Halloween. You should be fighting.
in September.
You should be fighting on your Mexican holidays,
the final leg of your career,
the final hurrah.
You know, go out there and fight for your Mexican fans,
you know,
fight on the dates that we feel proud of supporting you in,
you know, September and May.
Those are historically the biggest days in boxing,
you know, not fight at 3 a.m. in the morning
against the guy that, you know,
I mean, I don't even, I respect all fighters.
I respect them, Billy, but I really don't know how we got there to deserve, you know, this title shot.
By the way, Oscar, I have to say, your house behind you looks beautiful, well done.
I love the decoration, the work kids.
I see you're at the painting these days too as well, right?
Like you're doing it.
Oh, yeah, yeah, brother.
You know what, look, one thing about me, I'm living life.
Look at this guy.
I am living life.
I love, I love just the second half and the last half of my life,
I'm going to be happy, Ariel.
I'm going to be just happy and do my job and love boxing
and continue to develop world champions.
Look, Kit Austin, I'm telling you, he is a generational world champion.
And what I mean by that is he's going to set the benchmark on Saturday night
on how a fighter should be.
His work ethic, his determination, his focus on the sport.
This kid eats, lives, and breathes boxing.
I'll let you go in a second.
I just want to ask you about another one of your fighters, Virgil Ortiz.
When could we see him again?
Yeah, we're talking to, there's been rumors about Keith Thurmond.
So we're finalizing that deal there.
and hopefully we can have them on
on the Benevitus card in December,
which would be great on the zone.
I'm really looking forward to that.
I believe in Arizona.
But yeah, look, we went through hell in back,
me and Virgil and his team.
But I'm so glad that we finalized terms
for his next fights,
premeditated.
It's all set.
Okay.
Yeah, we're hoping that December 12 is a green light so we can get Virgil back on track.
Why not against Boots?
It seems like Boots is going to fight Josh Kelly.
Why not?
Why did that seem to fizzle out?
It's the back and forth and the monies and people outside people getting involved.
And this is part of the interview where I can't say who it is.
Okay, okay.
But you will know soon.
All right, all right, fair enough.
Yeah, the ultimate clapback.
But I feel that, yes, that fight has to happen.
And you know me, I'm an advocate of the best fighting the best.
That fight must happen.
Will it be the next one?
I hope so.
I mean, shit, we were in the middle of negotiating and we were in the middle of finally making that fight happen.
And then we all know exactly what happened after that.
And now we're back to square one.
So I'm just trying to get Virgil back in line and back on track and, you know, help him become world champion.
I think you might have broken some news there.
Benevita's on December 12th.
Who's he fighting?
Oh, did I?
Everything I say is always, you know, it's always the truth.
Yes.
But do you know who he's fighting?
Can you tell us?
No, I don't.
Okay.
I actually don't.
All right.
I like that you're giving out, you know, advice and stuff to the fighters on your Instagram as well.
Oh, yeah.
It's not just the clapbacks.
You're also doing the bin there, done that thing, too.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Look, I have so much knowledge.
I have so much knowledge inside the ring, outside the ring.
I just want to share it.
I want to share it and give it to the fighters so they won't make those mistakes.
And you haven't, man, you have no.
clue of how many people, like they DM me, like athletes and big names.
I'm not going to mention the names, but on how, oh my gosh, Oscar, you are so right.
I should have listened to you five years ago.
Oh, my God, this is, you're correct, this and that.
You know, it's just knowledge that I'm giving these fighters, man,
because I really do care about boxing, the fighters, the sport.
You know, I just want to give my two cents and hopefully fighters don't make the same
mistakes that I made in my career.
So it's just, yeah, it's just, it's just knowledge.
Always appreciate you dropping some knowledge on us here.
Oscar, good luck this weekend.
October 10th, WinTrust Center.
On the Zone, exclusively on DeZone.
What a fight this is.
Ghaly.
And shout out to Ricardo Sandoval,
one of the best flywates in the world defending his WBC and WBA titles
against Sergio Mendoza.
That's also on the card as well.
So shout out.
And Floyd Schofield, Lucas Boddy is a fight you need to watch.
That's October 10th this Saturday.
Thank you, Oscar.
All the best, you guys.
and always appreciate your time.
Good luck this week.
Thank you, brother.
All right, I'll talk to you after the ultimate clapback.
I can't wait.
I don't know when it's dropping,
but we'll be waiting with bated breath.
All right, brother.
Thank you, Oscar.
There he is.
Oscar Delahoya, kind enough to join us,
the Golden Boy fighting,
excuse me, his guy, Kit Austin,
fighting this weekend.
I was there, like I said, in attendance,
and he is just an unbelievable talent.
He defeated Tevin Farmer very quickly,
How long was that fight?
It was like...
Let me see here.
It was like...
Uh-huh-uh-huh-uh-uh-uh-uh-uh-uh-uh-uh-uh.
I don't know.
Typology.
It was like a minute?
Minute 18.
Yeah.
He was supposed to fight in November.
Did not happen.
Nice fighting.
Luke's back.
Of Canada.
Trains from time to time with the likes of Jasmine.
been a while it's probably
It's probably so far down the line
It's on the first page of four now
Oh my god
Four
Yeah
You gotta leave golden ones like you know
Who gives a shit?
Yeah
Who gives a shit
And then I keep getting suggested more
Who gives a shit
My responses
Who gives a shit
I know you get so mad when I send you the suggestions
When it's the same fucking words
Said a little differently
Shut the fuck
up and watch the fights.
Bangor, you guys dropped on Thursday.
Oh, I keep going.
No, come on, man.
I was feeling it.
Oh, Frankie, dude.
Frankie.
The vibes there.
I was feeling it.
The shoulder was moving.
You guys out listening to the instructions of the song?
Shut the fuck on.
Oh, geez.
What's a better song?
That or the, uh, did you guys hear the Chiwiwiwi's joint that dropped?
I don't know.
Let me hear it.
Okay, okay, okay.
Let me hear this.
Let me hear this.
Let me hear this.
Put me on.
Put me on.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
It's hard.
Hey, hey, man, that is a chewy wee wee.
You know, what?
Yeah, Rau's got some.
Stop saying yo for a second.
Yo, what do you mean?
What do you mean yo rousas.
That's a cuckolde,
I go to rebote in this pittote.
Yo, Raoul's got some.
Hold on.
Stop saying yo for a second.
Sorry, sorry.
What?
What do you mean yo?
First of all, I cannot see anyone in that video
that was 100% that I would just hear his voice.
That was fire.
That was here.
I thought that was.
You guys are bugging.
You guys are doing the fan.
That was Marshall Mathers in his prime right there.
Marshall Mathers.
Mathers.
Isn't that as Dave?
Yeah.
My name is Marshall Mathers.
I'm an alcoholic.
Yeah, I just, I'm enunciating, okay?
Nah, come on.
Come on, guys.
Stop this.
All right.
That's not real.
It is real.
Play it one more time.
That's not.
What is the hat?
What is that?
That is, that?
Raulosa's for sure.
Okay, but what is this?
This is a...
That is amazing.
That is amazing.
Who made the other banger?
Who made the 332 track?
You?
G.C.?
That's all Frank.
That's all Frank.
DJ Mysterio over there.
Let me hear that one more time, Frankie.
Who gives a shit?
Let me hear that one more time.
One more time.
We could have used a Hugh Gives a shit in this.
Yeah.
Why did you mix them up?
Shut the fuck up and watch the fights.
Why don't you make some up?
We need Raul to beat and drop a rap over this.
Shut the fuck up and watch the fights.
Are you mocking the song right now?
Shut the fuck up and watch the fight.
Yeah.
Can we get along?
Oh.
Shut the fuck up and watch the fights.
Wait, was that a Rodney King?
Hell yeah.
Dude, Dana White
featuring Rodney King.
What a collab of the year.
Holy smokes.
All right.
Can we get along?
Beat them off.
All right, great stuff there from Oscar Delahoya.
Reminder, don't watch the fight on T&T this weekend.
It will not be airing on TNT,
but it will definitely be airing on DeZone.
What's the UFC?
Oh, Christian Leroy Duncan against Mr. Brennan Allen.
That's a big one.
Big one, yeah, for sure.
I can't wait.
There's a big one.
Apex?
Yeah.
Yeah.
I thought you were stating that.
I didn't realize you were asking.
Let us talk about some other fights that may or may not be happening.
Here is one Michael Morales.
Can I tell you something that's frustrating me?
We are approaching a year since his last fight.
What is going on?
How many, like, yay, nays, this is happening, this is not happening.
Like, how many of those have we gotten by, like, from the moment he
beat Sean Brady to now.
I think we've had like four to five times where we've been teased of a Michael Morales fight.
Anyway, here he is talking about an upcoming fight and he says it's not going to be against
Ian Machado Gary or Carlos Prachas.
I don't think anyone thought it was going to be Carlos Prachis, but nevertheless, here we go.
Here's Michael Morales.
As for my fights, I already have one lined up.
I was in Vegas discussing it because they hadn't given me a fight for a whole year.
Yeah, what the hell?
We were pushing to see if we could fight in December.
but it looks like the fight will be in January instead.
Against a very tough opponent.
It's neither Prakis nor Ian Gary.
Ian Gary supposedly said it wasn't available.
But he already has a fight booked.
What?
And that's supposedly why he wanted to fight me in December.
Uh-oh.
But we accept the January fight,
which is my last fight before a title shop.
I think that would be it.
Thank God willing we need to win that fight.
and then we'll fight for the talent, June.
Okay.
Quick look at the
World to Weight rankings. If it ain't
Ian Gary, who the hell is it?
He's ranked three. Is it
Jack Della? No.
Not Sean Brady.
What's Shavkat up to?
Oh, you think he's coming back?
So some clips of him training.
Yeah.
Michael Marales, I think, did post a video saying that Shavkat is, like,
the Poggy Man of the Division.
Man, Shafka coming back.
I'll ask about that later tonight, but here's Ian Gary responding saying, I've said yes.
The date is locked in.
Main event and you're making excuses already.
UFC sent the date.
I DM'd you myself.
You make it all public, but behind the scenes, I'm getting a different message.
The world knows I'm anyone any time.
How long has it been since he's fought?
Talking about Michael Morales.
That's the fight to make.
Ian is two, Morales is three, that's a thousand percent the fight to make.
It better be that one.
Now, we all thought Nasr Dean Imov and Sean Strickland was the fight to make, but now there's
all kinds of meshugas going on between these two.
Here's Imov tweeting.
Well, actually, he quote tweeted someone saying that Sean Strickland is asking for a million
dollars to fight on January 16th at the UFC 336 against Imov.
Where this info is coming from?
I have no idea.
is Ernest the freshest that Nasrudein is replying to?
McMexillens.
And the picture is a Tommy McMillan.
Oh, you don't know about Ernest?
Oh, shit.
Anyway, Nasrudeen is actually replying.
So that's why we're bringing this up.
Laugh, laugh, laugh.
Amoji, emoji, emoji.
If it's really about money, I'll put 500k of my own money on the line if you beat me in
January putting this on the record.
If you still don't take it, then you're just scared.
I'll handle you outside.
this is your champ UFC, come on, strip him.
No happy ending.
I don't know what that's about.
I don't know what's going on.
I think we all thought that that would be the main event
for the December 12th card,
which apparently is going up against a David Benavita's fight.
I don't know.
For some context, there was an Instagram post
that Strickland replied to where somebody said,
like, the reason that Strickland hasn't fought,
it isn't fighting is not an injury,
it's about money, and he replied to it and said,
go.
So there's talk of the money.
Okay, but where's the million coming?
No, no, that's all.
I don't know where that came from.
Yeah.
I don't know if he's getting the million.
If he is in fact, which, again, doesn't seem like something that we get out.
Unless this dude is his friend or training partner.
But that is the fight that needs to happen.
And then I saw Hamsat weigh in and say, I'll give you a million if you come.
I don't know.
Here it is.
Strickland, I will pay you one lemon?
Is that what he's offering?
I hope not.
Send me location and let's fight don't care outside, inside the cage.
Golly.
Well, Amzat's typos are my favorite thing.
What's the lemon?
I don't know, but then also Strickie Land.
Like, it's just, he's the best.
A fight that we know is happening is Alex Pereira versus Sergey Pavlovich.
Can I ask you guys a question?
They're on CBS.
They eventually announced it on CBS, but he did announce it.
Dana did on the stream with Nina, I think, on kick.
Weird or not weird?
Care or don't care?
Don't care.
Don't care?
Yeah, don't care.
All right.
It's just a promotional.
Promotional thing.
We've asked for something better than what's up guys,
you know,
shitty reading off a script video.
I'll take this.
It's been a minute since we got an IG live.
This is better.
It has been a minute.
Yeah, he stopped doing those.
I think the last one was the Francis fight the Connor,
the Conner announcement, right?
The biggest fight of the year.
I wonder if we, yeah,
I wonder if we traded in the meta rankings for the IG.
For that.
Oh, okay.
maybe.
Yeah, I don't really care.
It was a little weird to act like this is the biggest news.
It's just a fight announcement at the end of the day, five rounds.
It's just you have this huge platform, but I guess the people who are watching that platform aren't watching this, so it's all the same.
Maybe that's the thought, right?
Yeah.
We get two different.
But that was first.
Yeah.
Who knows?
Also, they ended up announcing two other fights on 335 later in the evening on the broadcast.
Yes.
With a promo attached to it.
Yeah, there was actually one, the promo was good.
And then they were talking about it Caged Side, and then they told the guys, I think, in real time, Bo Nickel versus Joe Pfeiffer.
And they were reacting to it, which I actually think was kind of cool.
You know what I mean?
Like let them react to it in real time.
Pfeiffer versus Nickel.
We talked about this on our video on Saturday.
So check that out.
Obviously, the main event is Diego Lopez versus Charles Olivera, BMF.
Diego Lopez is going to join us tomorrow on the program.
So stay tuned for that.
BMF champ versus BMF Challenger.
Yeah.
Hell yeah.
And Sergei Pavlovich is very excited about this fight against Alex Pereira.
Here he is going on social media and saying, see you in Las Vegas.
See you in Vegas.
Ah.
I said Vegas.
See you then, Sergey.
That's a big boy, guys.
Yeah, he's quite large.
That is a big big.
big boy. One other bit of news. As you guys know, the Skydance company is now fully formed.
Paramount Plus, Warner Brothers. Frankie, how do you feel about all this? I feel like you're all over this.
Reddit must be on fire. I've seen a few memes comparing what Skydance used to have under their umbrella
and what they have now and just seeing the graphics, like all the logos. It is pretty striking.
But you know what?
Tewitch their own.
If it's legal, it's fine.
It depends out later it's not.
Whoops.
Wow.
To each their own.
All right.
In any event, Dana White was asked about this because now HBO Max is going to get rolled
into Paramount Plus.
Will they air anything on it?
Does it really matter?
It's all on the same platform, but maybe it's a prestige thing.
I don't know.
It seems to me like they want to build up Paramount Plus and not something that they're acquiring.
Is this the future of HBO, by the way?
Is HBO just going to be like?
like a tile on Paramount Plus? Is that it? Is that what becomes of HBO after all these years,
that brand? I do feel like it will be the lesser brand, right? It will be folded into things.
Yes. I feel like it's just going to be a tile, which, and then eventually it will just phase out.
Or maybe not even a tile. It might just be like a bracket of programming, right? It just might be like,
this is HBO programming that's appearing on Paramount. Who knows? If there's one thing we learn from all
these like mergers in the fight game, the one that's swallowing up the other one usually
gets it all up. Anyway, here's Dana being asked about this merger and what it could mean for the
UFC. I saw a report today that HBO Max and Paramount Plus are going to morph onto the same
streaming service. If that's true, how exciting is that for you? Because presumably your
viewership will go very far up. Yeah, obviously this merger is huge for us and everybody else
on the platform, like 200 million more homes.
Have you had any conversation with Paramount about what you can maybe do with that new
platform?
Is it still has to play out for their side?
Yeah, I mean, obviously if you look at what they've done with us in the short amount of
time that they've been with us, it's been incredible.
You know, the contender series pulls massive, massive numbers for them.
The contender series is bigger than it's ever.
been this season. So, you know, we're excited about a lot of different things with Paramount.
They've been incredible. And the short amount of time, I've been in business with these guys,
eight or nine months, and they're the greatest television partners I've ever had.
All right. So things are going well. I'm a little bit nervous, guys. I'm not going to lie.
Bell what? I'm uneasy at the moment. I'm feeling uneasy. Tell me. Because as I've said before,
the highlight of my day, especially when I'm doing the show. I was open. This is what we were going to
get into.
Yeah.
Is the yogurt, the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow.
Perfect.
In the midst of the Eddie Hearn, Dana White, you know, deep dive, yeah, anatomy of a
beef, if you will, it occurred to me that I was staring at my yogurt bag.
And then I quickly did the math in the midst.
Like, you know, you can call me a lot of things.
Please do make sure you call me one of the great multitaskers of all time.
because in the midst of that, I'm thinking, wait a second,
got on my car 1030, it's now like three something, that's five hours.
Is this a problem that I'm staring at my yogurt?
Yes, definitely.
I love that yogurt.
It's the best 10 minutes of my day.
I think everybody knows based on the story from before.
We got.
When it got nab.
So very quickly, as I'm working, I'm also saying,
hey, guys, can someone get the yogurt?
I'm sorry to ask.
I never ask for any person, but I just need that.
And no one's really jumping on the,
the grenade, so to speak.
Sorry, sorry, sorry.
Yeah, man.
We need to back track for a second.
It is also a grenade.
It is now five-a-half hour.
I'm eating that yogurt.
I need that yogurt.
What's the big deal?
Jumping on the grenade?
What is jumping on the grenade?
I think I'm still confused, actually.
Guys, could someone grab the yogurt from me real quick and refrigerate it?
Oh, you wanted to refrigerate that yogurt?
Yes.
Oh, yeah, no.
Nobody's jumping on that grenade because that's a grenade for your stomach.
Nobody wants you to die.
So I had to then.
Well, okay, well, crisis averted because I had to sidebar with Frankie because I know at the end of the day he's the one who won't let me down.
Without a doubt, he will not let me down.
Like when I need my pallbearers, he's not being asked because he's never let me down so he won't know what to do when they need to put me into the ground, you know, 120 years.
So I sidebar with Frankie.
That's when Moses died.
That's what you say.
I said thanks.
When I saw a bar with Frankie
Frankie comes rushing in
Yeah, we know
We saw it
Yeah, we saw it
And does what
Grab the yogurt
And told me he put it in the fridge
But I'm worried
Well
Now he has also
I just
This is why I'm bringing up
I've just read
That I guess
New yogurt has been acquired
Yeah
Yeah by the way
When in the midst of this
We were literally
How did you get the new yogurt?
How'd you get the new yogurt?
There's a grocery store downstairs
Who went?
Who went?
I want to give credit words too.
Frank, you left.
So the ship was being manned without you.
I was on it.
Don't worry.
It was an empty chair.
Frank, you left to get me the yogurt.
I'd have to say top three nicest things anyone's ever done for me.
Can we talk about the logistics of Frank leaving at that time?
I never, Frank.
Frank, I'm rereading my messages.
Can you get my bag?
I need that yogurt.
Sorry for asking.
It's my light.
I wrote, it's my light.
Did I not say that?
You definitely say this.
A little dramatic.
And no, no, it's not dramatic.
I need that.
At no point that I say, go buy me a yogurt.
No, no, no.
This is us looking out for you.
Yogurt doesn't need to sit out five or six out.
That's why I feel so touched by this.
We need to go back to the nice thing.
There's such a bad news with this new yogurt, though.
Ario.
Is it lactose?
Yes.
No, it's lactose free.
It's lactose.
Ariel, I just remembered I didn't put my yogurt in the fridge.
Is that bad?
First of all, I mean, come on.
You know the answer to that question.
Frank with the horrible answer. Could we get a timestamp?
331.
Yes.
In the midst of me cooking.
Also at 331, Frank says, your mileage may vary, but I think it'll be okay.
Horrible advice.
Also, what does that even mean?
What does that even mean?
Your mileage may vary.
You might get diarrhea from that, but overall, you might eat.
3.32.
Aerio post the Wikipedia entry basically telling him, do not eat this shit.
This is very bad.
It says, yoga can safely stay out of the fridge for a maximum of two hours at normal temp.
If the room temp is 90, I don't know what this room is, but it's probably 90.
Okay.
Or higher.
We're like two and a half times that at this point.
It was still a little cool to the touch.
Okay.
It was being insulated.
Can I ask you guys?
If I leave my house at 1030, by the time I actually put that thing in the fridge, it's usually like 12, 15 or so.
So it's like every day I'm...
You've kept it in a bag.
It's not sitting out.
It's been in a bag this whole time.
Yeah, now you're adding five hours to that.
Fair, fair, fair.
Connor chiming in at 332.
Still one minute later, not even possibly.
When, yeah, when did you leave?
Seven hours out of the fridge for yogurt is dicey IMO, L-O-L-L-L.
Yeah.
The right thing to say.
I don't know what Frank was thinking.
Next.
New York, Rick.
I wouldn't eat that.
We can buy you one.
The solution to the problem, right?
It's immediately been resolved.
That's the resolution.
Done.
There's a lot happening.
Jordan.
It's already sour.
How much worse can it get?
Now, the band who has to watch fruit, of course, you would say this.
Yeah, thank you, Jordan.
It's very helpful.
He's a skull of bacteria already.
Ariel, please someone come get it.
I need that.
We don't know what this means because you're not eating that yogurt.
I would never let you eat that yogurt.
I thought it from what?
This is now 333.
Two minutes have passed.
Continuing on at 333, I say, nah, it's already cooked.
Five and a half hours.
We're setting sale on that.
Rick chimes in.
Still at 333.
We will get you a new one.
Yeah.
And then I wrote...
That's the resolution.
We'll go get you in a...
I didn't feel comfortable with that.
And then I wrote, Frank, I need you.
And then I wrote...
And then I sidebar, because I felt like I was...
Wait, you said something?
Yeah, please.
No, I said...
You said, what's up?
You want me to grab you a new one
or take this old one?
I'll do either.
So again, there's a confusion
because at no point did any of us
want you to eat seven-hour old yogurt,
but you are talking...
And I'm not saying, otherwise,
I'm not saying you guys weren't looking out.
I just have an emotional attachment
to that yogurt.
It's my blanket.
So as happened in the course of two full minutes, the new yogurt was purchased and you will be later eating the same yogurt.
No, there's no honey.
I'll just tell you right now.
There's no honey.
We do have the honey.
We do have the fire.
But it's not like the thing.
We have capability to have honey.
There's honey.
Listen, you know what?
Fuck it.
I'm going to step out.
Eat the old yogurt.
And then no hell want.
Good luck.
No hell wanting.
Good luck.
All right.
Also, we're playing clip.
that need audio, let's not ask the audio engineer.
I knew he was the one that would get it done for me.
Yeah.
What's happening?
The people are talking off microphone.
I'll let you guys know what I end up doing tomorrow, okay?
There's your resolution.
Do you want to mention uncrown.com.
Rankings are out?
The rankings are out.
And I'm looking at the female rankings here.
Valentina Shepchenko, number one.
With or without the title.
Kayla H, number two.
Zhang Wei Li?
With or without the title.
That's true.
Chris Seiborke, whether without the title.
Natalia Silva, title.
Dakota, McKenzie Dern, Amanda Nunes, Alex Grasso, Sekehazawa.
Drake's still holding on to that Sekehazawa, huh?
Got it.
What about Nunes 8?
Is Nunes actually 8, or is it just because she didn't fight?
She's not in my rank.
Yeah, many of us did not rank her.
It's been so long.
Yeah. There is a men's ranking that's out. Yeah. Oh, no, do we have that? Maybe not.
Issa Machachev, one, Peter Yan, two, Volcanovsky, three, Josh Van, four, Justin Gachey, Marab, Ilya,
Yerach, Sean Strickland, Tommy Aspinel, Armitz Rukin. I thought maybe, like, Peyton will get in there
or like Esteban Riebevich. I was just looking for like some activity post-332, you know.
You're ranking Esteban Rivets and your top 10 after King Green.
Yes.
Okay.
I'm excited to have you on the panel.
Yes.
Time enough for, no, it's not Time Not For.
It's Super Chats time, guys.
Okay, Colin Avery.
Did the UFC make Vow's step aside?
Valvinas?
At 125 with the promise of a 135 shot when she's healthy,
possibly for a vacant belt if Amanda and Kayla retire.
I heard some, you know, some nicks and knacks, and that she'd fight the winner.
And, you know, based on the tweet, seems like she wants to fight the winner.
Sunny Chung says, could the HBO slash Paramount merger equal HBO Boxing Revive?
I don't know why everyone's saying this.
HBO, like, just because they bought it, it doesn't mean they're going to, like, start doing HBO events.
Paramount wants to build Paramount.
Do you think they'll show things on like true TV and we'll get like the impractical
jokers doing play-by-play and stuff like that?
You know, they just did all that stuff with NCIS.
Why not friends?
All their properties with it.
Yeah.
You know, I'd be long if I said the thought crossed my mind.
I think we need to see how this plays out, but I think it's a bigger play than.
Honestly, from a combat standpoint, probably the most interesting story to play out is AW.
EW is obviously, you know, like their future hinges on their TV deal.
They've got the relationship with TNT and TBS.
And now it's, you know, it's all part of the Ellison family, Skydance.
They're in business with TKO, with the boxing, with the UFC.
Do they want to have Tony Khan and his band of misfits?
That to me is probably the most interesting scenario to play out as far as a combat sports story.
this Gibroni says how about those Patriots what up Ariel yeah I mean this dude changed his logo
you're you're the Celtics guy I know who you are yeah disgusting I mean I don't get it I just don't
get it we should have stepped on their necks now you got to go to L.A so the rage that I had in me
yesterday afternoon I can't believe they lost that game meant to ask so what do you want me
say. Congratulations. You guys still suck. You shat the bed. You're not going to go anywhere.
Our quarterback's better than yours. Our team is better than yours. Your coach sucks and the Celtics
suck. We're the defending champions. Choke on this. How about that? How about that? How'd the
Red Sox do against the Yankees, by the way, huh? How about that? Mentas G.C. on Saturday,
how are we feeling about the possible end to the UFC run of Tai Tui Vasa? Thanks again for the time of
my life Saturday. Go Bridgeport Sound Tigers. Yes, I remember
this guy. Shout out to him. G.C.
Thoughts? He was rocking the Bridgeport Sound
Tiger's hockey jersey. Ask me if I wanted
to go smoke a couple times and said that
he had his wife make him
Mongolian beef, so shout out to him.
Yeah, it's sad. I hate that
it has to come to an end, but I do think that...
But it may be not over.
Yeah. Who says it has to
come to an end? I think that actually might make me more so.
I don't want to watch him lose again in the UFC.
Can I say on a brighter note,
all those little stories from
Saturday, like where people tell us about how they watch the show, how they listen to the show.
I'm sure you guys got those as well. This is part of my, like, when someone tells me like,
oh, man, my wife gets so mad and, oh, this is the guy who we like, that's the best.
It's, I heard someone say that we're the friends in his head. It's the freaking best.
There's, it still blows me away that people show up that you get to actually like, you know,
you read comments, you don't know who's real, who's not, you see people. They're so
respectful and happy and excited and appreciative and we're just as appreciative for their support.
It's just the best.
That's the best part of those things.
That's why I loved Saturday so much because sometimes we're just kind of up there and
you don't really get to interact.
We got to interact with people for about four hours and hear stories.
And yeah, it's just, it's a great feeling.
So thank you, thank you.
Thank you to everyone who showed up and who was there.
I really, really, really appreciated it and had a great time, and hopefully we'll get to do more of those.
Here's another one.
Took the trip from New Haven with my pregnant girlfriend, and what a time we had.
Free tickets, free food, free drinks, and I even found free street parking.
You know yourself.
Shout it to everyone.
I don't remember seeing a pregnant lady there, but...
Oh, I do.
Oh, okay.
Yeah, shout out.
I told to New Haven Pizza.
I talked to that guy for a while.
Yeah.
The man.
I've never had New Haven pizza, but I've heard it's phenomenal.
It really is.
on a different level.
Best mobile provider in America,
T-Mobile, Verizon, AT&T, or Boost.
I'm going to go out on a limb and say,
actually, I don't even think it's a limb.
It's not.
Total wireless.
I knew where you were going.
Absolutely.
Total wireless, killing it.
I'm using it all the time.
Anytime I need to make a call,
I tell my kids,
grab your phone with total wireless
and make that call.
Because you're going to have service.
It's good for the whole family.
It's cheap.
It's affordable.
No, no, no.
Not an ad.
Not enough.
We just fucking love Total Wireless.
Yeah, we just love Total Wireless.
We have no skin in the game.
We are not sponsored by Total Wireless.
That's the truth.
God's honest truth.
I don't, like, I wish I was, but I don't have any kind of deal with them.
So to answer your question, Jake, Total Wireless.
What's going on, gang?
Honestly, an incredible experience Saturday night at the watch party in New York City.
Shout out to everyone who put it together, Arrell.
You're a gem of a person glad to have met you.
It was amazing meeting you, my friend.
Oh, yes.
I recognize this man.
He was amazing.
He's telling front row.
I believe his first name is pronounced Yido.
The man.
Sick jacket he had on.
Yes.
Great guy.
Really, really, really great to meet him.
And he told me his wife used to work at Vox.
And they would listen to the show.
And yeah, I just really enjoyed that.
I really enjoyed that.
Conversation with them.
Like all those conversations about people's lives
and how they consume the show.
Love that stuff.
Aunt Evans!
He's back!
Like a Phoenix!
Rising from the ashes.
Who's leaking to Ariel
was like the UFC's version
of the search for the Unabomber?
Guess who was asked that question?
Him!
He was one of them, among many.
Alfaro Danny,
G.C., bro, what the F is wrong with you?
They give Talbot Barcello's fraud check.
They give him Figgie.
Oh, give him a layup.
What the hell do you want then?
Was I sitting here screaming fraud check?
when he lost the Barcelona?
No, you weren't. People changed it.
I just, I don't know if that happened,
but I'm not saying it was a complete layup,
but the outcome did not shock me in any way.
It's crazy how people change the story.
Like, they say this about me all the time
when I say things like, oh, you were saying this?
No, actually, none of us were saying that.
Oh, you were crapping on 332.
Actually, like, we just said that it wasn't up to the standard,
but we all kind of predicted that it would probably be fun.
We did a freaking watch party for it.
Dana has become too obsessed with selling,
Holy shit moments.
Cos are fun, but in a vacuum,
novelty wears off.
More important are cheek clenching moments.
Okay, you want him to change his term?
Tension and stakes keeps us emotionally invested.
All right.
So next time up there,
you know what I like to do?
I don't care about like the glitz and the glamour,
the bells and whistles.
I just like to sell cheek clenching moments.
We're here to clench your ass cheeks.
I feel like that would be more appropriate
for uncrowded, if I'm being honest.
A lot of cheek clenching talk.
It's true.
Uh, here's another one.
Nobody gay A.S.
Or what?
Gives a shit.
Who gives a shit?
Nobody, according to this guy.
About your Tiffany Network.
It's 20, 36.
In fairness, I had no idea what the Tiffany Network was.
Uh, no, like, six weeks.
Shout out to the hiding network.
Yes.
Shout out to the hiding.
Wow. Am I really that old?
Am I really that unc?
Um.
Next one.
Got to get to your yogurt, man.
What am I supposed to do with this next one?
I don't even know what to do with it.
I say, thank you for the $5.00.
Thank you for the $499.
Krista.
Cristilinas.
Oh, here's more from Kristallinas.
What's up, Ireland crew, first ever super chat.
All right.
Oh, more.
And I already messed up.
Oh, damn.
I feel bad now.
Anyways, did you guys notice that Valentina's name didn't even get mentioned by the broadcast,
not even in the post-fight speech?
That was strange, right?
I didn't notice that, but damn, that is weird.
So post-fight speech, that's up to Natalia.
No, but like, what about Joe asking her?
Yeah, that was weird.
I didn't track that.
That is weird.
Yeah, we were mingling and stuff, you know?
Yeah.
But if so, that's weird.
Welcome, Krista, Linus.
Gary signs with Eddie.
Gary throws more obliquicks than anyone on the roster.
Obliqs will be banned before Gary fights again.
It's true.
This is a war against me and Gary and Eddie.
It's actually true.
Oh my God. It's actually true.
Yeah. I mean, one more can I say.
Plants get aspirin on?
Shout out Funk Harbor.
He's taking a break.
He's taking a break.
But we will get him on, promise.
Shout out to the watch party on Saturday. Epic time.
Got to chum it up with the boys.
Got a pick with the goat, A.H.
Free food and drink on the house.
Epic. Need to have one again in ASAP.
Thank you again.
Who treats you better than us, huh?
I was even surprised
about the free food
don't even told me about this
or the drink
I did deliver some
guys stop actively campaigning
for UFC belts
being held hostage on the sidelines
for 18 to 24 months
healthy and active fighters
deserve their chance
at changing their lives
in what is a short career
yeah but like
the rules keep changing
there's no precedent
by the way you can
pay them without them having a belt
it is possible
that sounds far fetch
You can actually change their lives without giving them a trinket of a fake belt
because they haven't beaten any champions.
But, you know.
That's a great point.
You do you.
Great show is always, crew.
You guys help me get through my day at work all the time.
Shout out to the crew.
I'm not reading that.
Hashtick, sorry.
Ariel, quick question.
Just got Amazon Fire TV.
How do I watch the on Crown Beat on there?
I miss where to go.
Also, how concerned are you about the bill's defense?
Yeah, I'm pretty concerned because it's the same old bullshit.
They can't freaking tackle it.
anyone. The freaking secondary
is a mess. Maxwell
Harrison calls himself the chosen one. He can't make a
freaking stop to save his life. Doesn't talk
to the media afterwards. It's
troublesome. Do we have that video
or do we not have that video?
No, what you'll do on the fire stick is you'll scroll over
to the free thing. You go down to where it says
Amazon channels.
And you'll go into the sports section and you'll scroll
until you see our little
carousel.
You think this is a good tutorial? You think it's going to
work out from?
It's terrible.
It's terrible.
But this is the best I can do at the moment.
We don't have the videos, what you're saying.
We do not have the video.
All right.
We're efforting.
Tomorrow.
It's easy.
It's easy.
Channels, search for it.
This is the second time Frank has offered to replace your yogurt.
This sounds suspicious.
He definitely ate the first one.
What do you shrug for?
What the fuck?
You left the room to come talk to us.
I would never, ever.
ever. I would never accuse you of that.
I love you, Frankie. Any more? That's it. I saw them coming in as I was reading, so I don't know if
there's any more. That's it. All right. It's been a great day. Thank you for getting my yogurt,
Frank. I love you. I just want to let you all know that I had a great day today, and I can't
wait to eat my yogurt after the show. And I want to thank all the guests who stopped by. And I want to let
you know that tomorrow on the program,
Diego Lopez is going to join us.
Eddie Hearn is going to join us.
That's going to be some kind of chat.
And Navajo Sterling is going to join us.
Maybe one or two others.
Who knows?
Tomorrow will be taping the Uncrown Beat
that you can get on Amazon Fire TV
later in the week on uncrown.com.
We've got a new newsletter out right now
in case you missed it.
Arialowwai.com.
That's also where you can leave your questions
for On the Nose.
That will be on Wednesday.
but the newsletter will be out every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.
Also want to let you know that we have a new partnership with Vice TV.
Our show airs every Friday at 8 p.m. Eastern before their live programming.
This past week, I was watching a marathon of Dark Side of the Cage.
I watched their episode on Chil Sunnan, very good, Connor Habib.
And then it led to our show, which was pretty damn cool.
And so great stuff.
Always very excited about all that.
What else?
What else do I have to plug?
Uncrowned Wrestling Show podcast coming out tomorrow on the feed.
There's a new episode of the Inside Boxing Program.
That is up on the pod feeds right now.
Also on their YouTube channel, we collab with them.
So hopefully that makes it your way as well.
Once again, shout out to our friends at Kalshi for putting on that watch party.
Had a great time.
One for one, if you're in New York City, really enjoyed that spot.
Very cozy.
Great TVs.
great sound, great couches.
Frank, you would have loved it.
You would have absolutely loved it.
The sound was phenomenal.
Thank you very much all our guests today.
Thank you to Anthony Wint.
Kevin Vachejos, Oscar Del Ojoia.
Thanks to everyone who sent in questions, super chats.
Thanks to that.
Thanks to you.
Back to Rasa, that, bye, see, see, bye, see, bye there.
