The Bald and the Beautiful with Trixie and Katya - Roz Hernandez Should Be More Famous

Episode Date: September 22, 2026

The deliciously-delightful and splendidly-spooky Roz Hernandez descends upon the studio like a Victorian apparition with gorgeous bangs, joining Trixie for a feverish symposium on ghosts, gays, and co...nservatives who know suspiciously too many lyrics to Wicked. Together, they peer beyond the veil to ask whether the dead are among us, and, most critically, how large Roz’s hypothetical new breasts should be before they cease being cosmetic enhancements and become federally recognized geographic features. Light a candle, powder your décolletage, and alert the Vatican's top exorcist, because this episode contains spectral entities, gay pageantry, and a conversation so eerily enchanting that you'll utterly ignore that haunted ceramic panther lamp you just got off of Ebay. To check out Roz live, head to https://www.RozHernandezTour.comto check out her podcast "Ghosted!", head to https://open.spotify.com/show/4ra955RzTPKWl5VQmlXldcFollow Roz: https://www.instagram.com/rozhernandezYoutube: https://www.youtube.com/@rozhernandezthedoll  Hosted by Simplecast, an AdsWizz company. Starting point is 00:00:00 Hi, it's me, Trixie, the ball and the beautiful. Hello, I'm here and obviously we have an empty chair today. I just wanted to address that Katia is going to be out for a while focusing on her health. I actually had Katie come to my rescue a few years ago when I took several months off for my recombolation. And I remember I felt so grateful that Katia had guests and kept the show funny and light. And it really gave me the space to get back to even better than before. So I just want to tell you guys, I intend to stay here with you guys, have amazing guests, keep a great show going, and let's just send her some wonderful well wishes while we keep being ridiculous here. Okay, okay.
Starting point is 00:00:36 Yeah, and who do you guys want to see co-host with me? Because when Katya had co-hosts, they were all so good. And now I'm like, well, we got to really bring the heat. So we have some great ones lined up that I'm filming today. But I'm really excited to maybe reach for the stars and get some really good guests. So start spamming your celebrities on the internet. Become annoying. And now our first guest, Raz Hernandez. Hi, it's Trixie. Hi, it's just me. Obviously, I look incredible. I'm trying to go for the singers. What am I? Chubb Liver? Not even introduce you yet. You're not here. Shut your damn mouth. I don't know where that. That was a ghost. That was a ghost. I heard it's just me, Trixie.
Starting point is 00:01:19 Oh, no, no, no. I'm going to introduce you and then I'm going to go home. You'll have plenty of time. And then I take over. Yeah, yeah. Oh, your fans are going to love it. You guys, I'm about to read a very important intro, but obviously you've already seen her. My God, she looks. gorgeous. Can we get a clap for the room, please? Oh my God. Thank you guys. We got this good lighting and we're normally shining it on a human scab. So this is incredible. Oh, thank you so much. I'm honored to be filling in. Well, if you're wondering who she is, she's not just a model, a chair model. She's also our co-host today who's a hilarious comedian, a spooky podcaster, an audiobook author, and the haunted doll. It is the very transgender, Ross Hernandez. The very transgender. The very Rost Hernandez?
Starting point is 00:02:03 Yeah, where the fuck did you get that from? That is from her web series, the Hon. I don't know what. I don't appreciate that. Very transgender. It doesn't feel right coming out of your mouth. I'm sorry.
Starting point is 00:02:15 When I say it, it's fine. I, as a white man, was just handed these cards by a Mexican lesbian and I just read them. Well, I'm also very Mexican if you want to put that in there too. Yeah. What happened to everybody's Tia?
Starting point is 00:02:28 Ross Hernandez, you know, something more... Oh, sure. You write the intros next time. I can't. This is what? 15 words? I can't do this. I'm, you can call me whatever you want. I'm honored to be here with you. I'm honored to have you. This is so major for me. And, you know, it's become my catchphrase. Roz Hernandez should be more famous. But that is true. And it is true. And you have helped me tremendously. Last year, you let me ghost hunt your house, which people recognize me from all the time.
Starting point is 00:02:55 Do they really? I so appreciate that, which has been amazing for my. ghost hunter life, which is part of my life. Right. I'm a stand-up, but I'm, you know, everyone knows me as like the, the ghost hunter now. And now I'm, now people know me as the person that like, you know, ghost hunts with drag queens. I'm sorry that we accidentally destroyed your identity as a, as a greater entity, which is a comedian and everything by making. I've been working on it real hard. I've been working so hard to destroy my identity for years now. And there's drugs for that. But I just want to say when we first had you on for the ghost hunting, at the time you were kind of like, you identified to me as like the ghost hunter who's comedically a skeptic. Well, that's the thing. A lot of people, a lot of people don't consume my work because they just hear ghost hunter, like I hate go.
Starting point is 00:03:48 And what they don't realize is I also roll my eyes at ghost hunting. Right. I, the reason I do it is because there was not very many people of color. queer people, funny people, fabulous people that are doing it. So I'm like, this has so much opportunity to be really gay and silly and fabulous. So that's why I got into it, but I don't know what the fuck I'm doing. Frankly, I don't think any of those people know what they're doing. I think I just talk about the fact that I don't know what I'm doing. I think a lot of times when we have problems, we want a professional to help us. I get that. But a lot of times people don't know what a ghost really is. Like nobody
Starting point is 00:04:30 know. It's called the unknown for a reason. It's called the unknown for a reason. And also, I mean, I like that your approach to it is sort of like, this is what I think, but how would I know I'm not dead? Exactly. Like the truth is, I know you speak to spirits of whoever, but Mary, you ain't dead. I know a lot of theories. I know tons of theories. I know tons of cases that people have studied, like facts, sure, but everything else, I'm kind of just like, hopefully there's a go. And if there's not a ghost, I'm not faking it. I'll be like there's not a ghost. And if there's not a ghost, is that so bad? You still get your day rate.
Starting point is 00:05:02 Like, it's not like... Day rate. No, it's not like a... Did you pay... Wait, let me check my Venmo. I didn't get no day rate. No, but the people you ghost hunt for professionally. Because, you know, if you're going to ghost bust, be the ghostbuster you wish to see in the world, right?
Starting point is 00:05:16 Of course. And you're kind of the Melissa McCarthy of ghost hunting and that it's refreshing. Thank you. Remember when it was all the... It's entertainment. I mean, I don't fake any ghost hunting, but I'm... I'm here to give you entertainment. Like, would I wear this to go ghost hunting?
Starting point is 00:05:32 No. Oh. I hope so. No, I do. But what I typically, like in real life, if you were like, I have a ghost come over right now. I'm not going to be like, give me two and a half hours to put on my fake ponytail and my nails and like what. No. But it's entertainment.
Starting point is 00:05:48 It's fun and it's like fabulous. So that part of it is entertainment. But then like the ghost part, if a ghost happens, a ghost happens. Right. I can't control that. All you could do is try to, I guess, what are your goals when somebody is asking for your expertise? What are your goals as far as like delivering that expertise? Are you hoping to confirm a ghost?
Starting point is 00:06:12 Are you hoping to be like, oh, girl, you're good. It's like a checkup? I would love to find one too. I want to see a ghost. Right. I haven't seen very many ghosts, but I want to or I want to find things that I can't find the explanation for. But, like, my web series, The Haunted Doll on YouTube is I find guys on Grindr that join me.
Starting point is 00:06:33 And that's always fun because I go to different cities and I find these guys. And we just have a key key. Like, no matter where I'm at, we're just like, I can find a really fun gay guy. And the two of us just try to find goes. We do the Ouija board. We do all of it. I bet that gay guys, gay guys aren't the bravest in the face of danger. I'm not.
Starting point is 00:06:55 So that's what I'm saying. I'm terrified. You're the strong force here and the gay guy's what screaming? I get so much more brave when the gay guy shows up. Oh, really? The first half of when I go something by myself, because I do it completely by myself, I set up all my own cameras and I do it at haunted hotel rooms because it's cheap to just rent a hotel. So I show up to, I'm not responsible.
Starting point is 00:07:21 I didn't bring no demons with me, but there is something outside. Katia she's trying to get in. Oh my god. Katia, I'm sorry, I'm just filling in this one time. Okay, it worked. I always thought she would sound more like rattling chains. Or like on an American horror story when they let a cigarette that. That's what I think Katz's ghost would smell like. I hate in TV when they let a cigarette and it sounds like a blowtorch. Why do they do that? They do that. And I'm not a smoker, but when I've stood next to people smoking, I don't hear a forest fire. So I don't know who in sign design is like,
Starting point is 00:07:55 Let's turn that shit up. Bump it up. Is it because when you're a smoker, you're close enough to the cigarette that your ear does hear it? When you're lighting it, do you smoke? I have. Do you feel sexy? Of course. There's nothing hotter than smoking cigarettes. I think a lot of people feel that way about when they smoke.
Starting point is 00:08:15 Let me ask you this. Since you have a lot of children that consume your work, do you get concerned about the, would you talk? I feel like you don't. Absolutely not. I feel so inspired by you and the way that you deal with all of that kind of stuff because like I'm starting to just get like kids and things like that. And I'm like, that's not never been my goal. So like I'm just some drag queen from the clubs.
Starting point is 00:08:41 Right. So I'm like like I almost just said like, yeah, smoke. It's good. But then I'm like, wait, but children could hear that. Well, I mean, I don't think smoking is sexy. So I wasn't going to affirm that to you because I don't believe that. You don't think smoking is sexy. It's an immediate now.
Starting point is 00:08:57 Are you serious? It's an immediate now. It's an immediate no. Okay. Good for you. More for me. Yeah. And there's plenty.
Starting point is 00:09:04 Yeah. Friks with fatties. Go do it. Probably have to blake that. We don't know. I don't. Can you not say fack? You'll never hear me.
Starting point is 00:09:14 But you know that word has been said to me by ghosts several times. I do know about that. They don't get censored. If a ghost is say, if someone is dead and they say fess it, They're allowed. But they don't have Google AdSense. Like, they're not going to make any money on the view of that. But if I post it, I want that money.
Starting point is 00:09:34 Oh, so like you're saying, you should be allowed to post a ghost saying f*** and not be censored. It's not you said that. And it is. From my experience so far, I have not had a ghost cross the line when it comes to ads on Google. Right. Well, as far as like, if gay rights is just getting a little good in the grand scheme of human history, if it's just now getting a little cool for us. It is.
Starting point is 00:09:57 Why would a ghost from 200 years ago be like, work bitch, live your life, honey, no matter gay straight or buy that ghost in that withered, wickered antique outfit would be like, you're on f***et. But here's the question is always like, if they're here this whole time, are they like consuming everything that come, you know?
Starting point is 00:10:18 I think so. Like when I'm watching the real houses of Atlanta, I think the ghost in my house is sitting there eating the ghost of some Cheetos and being like, yes, girl, read her. Your house is one of the more haunted places I bet. I am not even kidding. I'm not joking either.
Starting point is 00:10:34 I've traveled the world. And your place is so authentically haunted. And like anytime someone brings it up to me, I'm like, you have to understand. There's no faking. There was no faking. And I get, I don't think about it much because I get scared in my house. So when people bring it up,
Starting point is 00:10:52 they're like, is your house still haunted? I'm like, thanks for the reminder ho. I don't know. But it is. Can I tell you, I had a haunting the other day. Now, this was a haunting. I'm going to give you like a Tarantino version. So you want me to take my feet out?
Starting point is 00:11:06 I want you to kill me with a sword. No. Basically, I was downstairs on my phone and Mr. Wonderful, my partner, I had just got out of the shower. And I, the shower, my little Bluetooth radio in the shower, all that, got out of the shower. Came downstairs. I'm sitting there. I'm on my phone. I'm talking to him.
Starting point is 00:11:23 We're about to leave and go out for Michael Henry's birthday. I almost went. It was really fun. I love Michael. Michael comes out to me and goes, my friend's about to show me a picture of his dick. It has two dick holes that it comes out of both of them. Do you want to see?
Starting point is 00:11:35 And I said, no, Michael, I don't want to see. And he said, but there's two holes. Where are the holes? And I said, no, I know what you're saying. You do? I said, don't you think it's probably the same amount of semen out of two holes? Does it think that's like having one head phone in? Which, where is the, where are the holes?
Starting point is 00:11:54 I except with the guy before they had two holes. You did? Yes. This guy had, I can't have we never talked about this. This guy had the P hole in the normal spot and then right under like direct due south. There was another hole. Okay. And only when he was ejaculating, did I notice that?
Starting point is 00:12:11 And it came out both? Yes, it came out both. Because it's like, what? Imagine milk coming out of her news. There's two holes and they came out equally both. At the same time. But the event was so similar to the second. with this person.
Starting point is 00:12:22 Yeah. That it didn't even come up. I just went home being like, oh, that was two dick holes. It was like so normal. Right. I wasn't going to be like, oh my God. Yeah, I mean, in our travels, you'll see lots of weenies and booties and all kinds of things as the years go on. Right.
Starting point is 00:12:40 I have not seen that yet. Maybe. Well, ask Michael Henry. He had a princess, a princess tiara on that said 40th because it was birthday. Oh. And he kept going, ask me if I wanted to see the penis with two holes. like, no, I'm good. He was like, no, I don't think you're hearing me. There's two holes. I was like, I know there's two holes. I'm good.
Starting point is 00:12:58 But most of us have not experienced that yet. You've seen it. But for me, I'm about to text Michael. I won't see. Well, maybe you need to expand more to like the X files where they don't just do aliens. They do paranormal. What if you did ghosts and aliens and double P holes? I would, I'm, I will investigate any P hole that any, that any, that, that, that, that, has double. Because you've been doing that longer than ghostling. I, so let's be honest.
Starting point is 00:13:26 I did your pod back in 2000. You've never been on ghosting. You're one of the most requested people. And I know you're one of the busiest people. I'm not busy. You live actively in a haunted house. You are the dream guest for my podcast ghosted. Let's do it.
Starting point is 00:13:44 I'll go. Yeah, you shouldn't. I'll go. Let's take a break. According to my people, they've been emailing you for two years now. No one asked me. Okay. Listen, we're going to take a break and I'm going to book it and we'll be right back.
Starting point is 00:14:08 Okay, we're back. I did your pod. You had a pod with Sam Pancake in 2016. That was probably one of the first pods I was ever even on. Are you serious? Yes. I've been podcasting a long time. I mean, I honestly, I've been thinking about, you've been thinking about what am I going to talk to you about and what's been on my minds.
Starting point is 00:14:28 and I've been thinking a lot about because this this roster should be more famous thing keeps like coming up. It was just like a thing I needed some merge so I just made a bumper sticker and I was like, what's a message I can put on it? And I was just like, I should be more famous
Starting point is 00:14:44 so I put it on there. And now like people keep coming up to me constantly that are like, you should be more famous, you should, like I keep hearing it all day long, which I like or whatever, but it makes me think about like, God damn, I've been in this for a long time. I really should.
Starting point is 00:15:02 There's a certain amount of humility in being willing to joke about, but the joke is about what you haven't achieved, is what you're saying. Well, let's be so for real. I feel like I don't hear enough people talk about this, but the window is closed for new transwibut to get on, in the masses in media right now. Not in my media.
Starting point is 00:15:23 Thank you. But, like, mainstream media, The door has closed. Interesting. It has. Who was the last one through the door? I'm not really... Well, I can tell you who was the last one through the door.
Starting point is 00:15:37 Because it did close with the Dilma-Movani-Wadwiser thing, which I will never blame Dylan for at all. No, putting some makeup on and drinking a beer is not illegal people. But the pushback made it so that there's just... I don't know. There's the jobs. There's not opportunities. Nobody has said to me specifically, we don't work with trans women anymore. Except me for two years.
Starting point is 00:16:05 But there hasn't been TV jobs and like, and I used to do commercials all the time and whatever. But so the TV show that I was on, I got cast. I got cast in December of 2022. The Dilma-Vaney thing happened in. April of 2003. My show was announced
Starting point is 00:16:32 a couple months later. Sort of. I mean, it was announced on like smaller publications and stuff.
Starting point is 00:16:39 And then the show, which was on Hulu and stuff, premiered in the fall. And a lot of people didn't really hear about it. And now,
Starting point is 00:16:48 and then it was taken off of all streaming. So I, like, got in right, like, I was like, oh, I get to be on a TV
Starting point is 00:16:56 show. Like, I'm a, Trans lady like a Sabana TV show and then which is huge. Yeah, I mean it totally. It still happened and yeah and I'm very proud of the work that I did but unfortunately like now people can't see it anywhere. It was removed something like that happened with Queen of the Universe. It got released all at once and then pulled off the platform. Yeah. Which was I heard like halfway through the second season. I got a call being like the rest of the episodes are going to come out tonight and it's going to be off the platform like next week or something and I was like what I mean I don't understand why those things happened. I don't know what. who what that means and i know that there's a lot of elements so i don't specifically say i i don't i have no reason to believe that uh any company or any one person is responsible i don't know i really don't know anything but i know that i was casted a tv show when the window was open and i haven't i haven't even auditioned for a tv show since then so when i talk about i should be more famous that's
Starting point is 00:17:55 like for me, that's sort of what it means because I'm like, oh, I thought I was about to be on this giant TV show. What I like about Roz should be more famous is I like that it encourages the audience to, I don't know, it encourages the audience to be like, don't you think this is as good as some of the shit you've seen that gets plastered everywhere that has much higher budgets on billboards? Don't you think the shit I'm giving is that good? Don't you think my shit should be winning that shit is? and it's something that I think only like a hot bitch could do.
Starting point is 00:18:26 Because if some like straight white guy said that to me, I'd be like, no. No, Gerald, I don't. So last year, I had no work, none on my calendar at all. And so I decided to book my own tour. And I was like, I'm going to do stand-up. And so I started posting, I was like, you know what? There's so many markets, I just don't feel like I can go to in America right now. Like if I went to do comedy clubs and I don't sell out.
Starting point is 00:18:53 and like the locals show up in the middle of the country. Like that's terrifying. I don't know what that could mean. It's, it's, Juno was telling me something similar when she was bringing her material to like, mostly like normal comedy room, straight audiences. She said it was just, she was so unsure of how it would go.
Starting point is 00:19:07 Yeah, it's really scary with the way that people are. They just hear trans and they're fucking pissed. Right. And so I was like, okay, maybe I can do it where there's drag shows. So I, I posted, I was like, are there, um, drag clubs? Like, where would you like to see me? and then people started tagging. I ended up booking 50 shows across America.
Starting point is 00:19:27 You booked it yourself. I did everything myself. I remember this tour. I made my event brights. You drove it too, right? I drove by myself. I sold all my merch and me and a couple of suitcases. By yourself.
Starting point is 00:19:39 By myself. You sold your own merch. I also brought an additional suitcase with my ghost hunting so I could film YouTube while I was out there. So I had three suitcases and a car. Bitch, I got dreams, okay? There's no opportunity. for me. I have to go make up my own. So I drove to all these cities and it was so amazing. It was such a fun time. And luckily, I'm so grateful to Simon and Schuster. I got an audio book that I was able to
Starting point is 00:20:07 write while doing it. That's the great thing about books is that Biggates don't read books. So the book world, you could, oh, that's true. Books in theater. I'm like, thank God they are so accepting of any identity. But girl, you know what I love. I love. Think about wicked. Think about a musical about skin color and discrimination and being different and coming into your power. Yeah. Think about conservatives watching that. And that mean like, so me.
Starting point is 00:20:34 I know, right. They're like, I am alpha-boh. I'm like, what are you talking about? I know. They don't get it. Racists being like, I love hairspray. I'm like, you do? What do you love about it?
Starting point is 00:20:43 It's because I like the colors and I like the facial expressions. Like, they're just. I have a family member who's a Trumper and I. I was talking about that show, The Boys. I exclusively have family members. Love. We might be related. So I was talking about The Boys and I was like, God, it's crazy how much they're barely doing like metaphor.
Starting point is 00:21:04 They're just doing Donald Trump with Homelander. I mean, he's being portrayed as a religious figure, blonde. It's just Maga in superhero world. And the person I'm related to was like, oh, I just, you know, I'm just watching a show. You know, you can read into whatever you want. I'm like, read into it. It's not even a buried metaphor, bitch. You just see what you want.
Starting point is 00:21:22 They watch hairspray and they're like, this movie is about dancing. Totally. And being big. Totally. Like they raced, like they just, sure. Yeah. Wicked. Like, oh, she, like, oh, her skin's green.
Starting point is 00:21:37 That's crazy. Kind of cookie. But I don't like my neighbors with a different skin color. It's like, okay, girl. I'm sorry to, like, hijack that. No, you're exactly right. It bothers me to no end because I just think, like, girl, what are you, why are you going to see a musical if you're a conservative?
Starting point is 00:21:51 Get the fuck out of here. I know. You go see Rocky Horror? You go see, oh, Mary, shut up. I do feel like, as time has gone on, I'm like, I want to be just more explicit. I do, I'm sure you do this too, where I, sometimes I test, like, I'll say something a little bit that'll just, like, weed out some people. Like, I like to just make sure that anybody that has the wrong idea about me doesn't, they know this is your stop. Get off.
Starting point is 00:22:18 I think I do that on stage and off stage. Yeah. I had a show called Tricks and Mattel ages three and up in like 2016. And the name, as you'd imagine, confused a lot of people. So three-year-olds were coming? So I was telling my story from my life aged three and up, which is like a pun about how toys always say three and up. Right.
Starting point is 00:22:37 People were bringing kids because accidentally I have never not been a drunk, foul-mouth pig. Right. But I don't know why the kids all liked me. So people would walk out every night and I would make sure I said the sick shit up front. I said some sick joke about like blowing my dad, which is obviously a joke. I don't know my dad,
Starting point is 00:22:55 but I've blown a lot of people in the Midwest, so I don't know. No one can hear when you do it like this into the microphone. Thank you. People have, have you ever met your real dad? I'm like, no, but I've toured to the Midwest a bunch of times. I mean, and I've seen a lot of older guys.
Starting point is 00:23:07 All we could do is hope. 23 of me didn't exist back then. Let's take a break. No, but let's not take a break. Okay. I forgot what I was talking about. I forgot what I was talking about. You're talking about just like getting the joke out so that people know.
Starting point is 00:23:23 You have a joke you throw out early. Yeah. Juno said she does something similar, which is she makes a joke about, as you guys noticed, I am British. Right. Which is like she has to acknowledge it first. Then we can all move forward with the story about the gas station or whatever, normal shit. Because I think the audience, because I used to do stand up in drag, which is not the same as being trans.
Starting point is 00:23:45 People at least hate me for my Halloween outfit, not my identity, you know. but I imagine for you you might feel like we gotta take a big swing in the beginning and then I would rather you leave right away if you're gonna leave. Exactly.
Starting point is 00:23:58 Well, I mean, I've done it for 13 years and I did it I used to do it as a drag queen in like comedy clubs and stuff. That's right. Yeah, so I would go up and do 10 minutes
Starting point is 00:24:08 after whoever it was, Bill Burr or like... It's always a bill. It's always bill somebody. And then it would be like a drag queen for 10 minutes. And that taught me a lot about, but it was a different time. You know, it's so sad.
Starting point is 00:24:23 It's so weird how our society has changed because if we're talking 2015, 14, 13, whatever, people were more curious than they were. They definitely were. They were like, what is this is different? This is fun. And now it's more so we've heard this shit on Fox News nonstop. It's, we know what it is. It's bad. And we don't want anything to do with it.
Starting point is 00:24:47 And so I'm just like, fuck you. Like, I'm out of here. I don't want, I'm not trying to win you over. I want to go where my people are. It used to be like, oh, I saw a lineup with five comedians. The middle one didn't really speak to me much. But it doesn't ruin the whole show. Sure.
Starting point is 00:25:02 And maybe you're not the judge jury executioner of what's funny. Maybe you just didn't like that joke, whatever. Right. But I never need everything I saw in a lineup of like variety shows. I never need everyone to be my exact flavor. But that's what's hard about like the touring. comedian life is that when you do like comedy clubs
Starting point is 00:25:21 there's a lot of people that for a date or whatever will be like let's go to the comic club it's always funny so it doesn't matter who it is we'll just buy a ticket and go and then it's whoever is in town for the weekend that is doing stand-up there and
Starting point is 00:25:37 usually I think that they leave going that was really funny the guy talked about his wife and I have problems with my wife so that was funny you know my bitch of a wife Yes. I love the male jokes that are like my fucking bitch of a wife. Love.
Starting point is 00:25:52 Love my bitch of a wife. Love my bitch of a wife. But then if there's a six foot one trans lady in ostrich feathers, it's a different situation when you're in Oklahoma or whatever. And, you know, so that's why I was like, I'd rather just go to gay clubs. At least if they don't like me is because I'm not funny. It's not because. Oh, because when I, I mean, I don't know, you're probably smarter and more developed than me. But when I was younger doing stand up, if I had a bad show.
Starting point is 00:26:17 I either completely blamed myself or completely blamed to the audience. And now I look back and I'm like, every day is a new batch of people with different life experience. And every day you are giving variations on the same delivery of this shit. Yeah, that's the thing. It is really that personal or serious. And you look at the veteran comics and they're like, yeah, I bombed. That was yesterday, whatever. I'm like, I love that.
Starting point is 00:26:41 Yeah. You can't be afraid. Right. Do you get, I mean, at least you're all glamorous when you walk up there. How do you powerfully connect to the audience right away? See, but that's what I call being stood up at the prom. When you are done up and you're not getting what you want, like there's nothing more humiliating.
Starting point is 00:26:57 Josie Grosie. Oh, Josie Grossie. Remember when they throw the egg at her? Yes, that's me. No, they don't throw eggs at you. They throw tomatoes at me. You're gay. They throw fake egg, like egg beaters.
Starting point is 00:27:08 Gay people all garden. They've got gorgeous tomatoes that they bring with them to the comedy show, and they chuck them at my head. Right. And they're really uppity about them. Those are fingerling potatoes, Ross. They're so proud of it too. But wait, what was your question?
Starting point is 00:27:25 Oh, do I get scared? No, my question is, if it's an audience in, let's say, you're in Green Bay, Wisconsin. And you're like, all right, this audience, maybe it's a few of my diehards from socials who know me. Yeah. We're probably going to be in the front, and I love them, and they have blue hair, and they're wearing dragress merch and whatever. They're visually telling you that they're your people. Right. But what about the other people?
Starting point is 00:27:46 How do you... I just do the show for those people. I think that's the healthiest thing. I do it for them and everyone else can listen. And that's actually how I do my entire career. I'm talking to LGBT people. Everyone is welcome to listen. I love that.
Starting point is 00:28:00 Yeah. That's how I operate. People are always like, for Katina, they're like, your fans are like all straight people. And I was like, it never crosses our mind. Right. We're still two old fags talking about being fags. But the audiences now are like,
Starting point is 00:28:13 I would say on tour, what do you think? 70% straight people? Yeah, straight women for sure. Straight women. But the right kind of straight. Like it's a different. Of course, but I'm never like, oh, it's a bunch of girls tonight. Let's do our, like, our girl material.
Starting point is 00:28:27 And we're still doing our shit. But they know, like, I'm going to talk about sticking things in buttholes. Right. Which we all have. Sticks. Yes. And I'll talk about as many pee holes as we need to. Both of them.
Starting point is 00:28:42 I'll talk about all of that. And the ladies love. it. Have you been to Milwaukee on your tour? I did go on that last one. You did? You did? I think the Cactus club. The Cactus Club. I remember that. That one wasn't a gay officially place, but they're super ally
Starting point is 00:29:02 punk. Oh yeah. That part of town is super hipstery, fun people. Yeah, that was cool. That's a nice place. I want to do La Caj. La Caj is Fierce Girl. Yeah. La Caj is a three-level dance complex, giant gay club with a huge fucking nice theater upstairs. That's what I hear. That's my dream.
Starting point is 00:29:18 And I'm trying to start a a circuit for LGBT comedians to tour the way that drag grays girls always did, like at gay clubs. These places that have a stage, a dressing room, chairs, it's perfect for stand-up. So I've been like trying to find all of the right places and I'm assembling documents that I'm sending to all, you know, comedians that can sell 200 tickets or whatever.
Starting point is 00:29:49 And I just think it's so beautiful for like the communities. Everyone's just like laughing and being their gayest selves. And we just, I hate to be like now more than ever we need it. But like we fucking do. We do. It's so nice to have a night where we're all just like having gay fun with each other. I agree. It also would be a great companions show to let's say the girls, the house drag queens have a show at 11.
Starting point is 00:30:16 Yes. Comics doing a nice hour or. 90 would be a great warm up to that. Because then the girls come out, the audience is half drunk, everybody wins. Well, a lot of times nowadays, I have high energy lip-sinking trans drag queens
Starting point is 00:30:31 open for me. That's my favorite. Like, they get the show going. And it's like it's almost like a variety show because it's like we're not just hearing stand-up. Like I like to give people a break. For sure. I love when there is in Milwaukee we used to do drag shows
Starting point is 00:30:47 on Wednesdays and it was called Entertainment Entertainment or Entertainment and we would have sometimes like this duo would come in and do ballroom dancing
Starting point is 00:30:55 that's so fun and you would have a drag show with a straight girl and a straight guy come out and do their ballroom routines because they were competitive ballroom people
Starting point is 00:31:02 but they were super gay friends of ours they were friends with all gay people so they would come out and do a ballroom thing and in the context of a drag show no one is going hey there's no lip thinking
Starting point is 00:31:12 this doesn't count levels is good but levels is good you know what I started too is getting tipped. During the set? Because I'm doing drag clips. I said, you know what? I want to make everyone here feel, I want to respect the culture
Starting point is 00:31:27 of this place. And I, you know, I don't want to come in here and try to change the way that things are usually done. You usually give dollar bills to the performers. So if you hear a good one, I'll put a bucket on stage. You can either throw it or everyone comes up. And there was like, you know, a few times throughout the show where I'm like, this one's about to be a moneymaker. And then they all come up and give me the money. And I was making a couple hundred extra bucks from cash. That's great. That's what I miss about drag more than anything is cash. Can I tell you the best
Starting point is 00:31:56 thing about drag? Well, one of the best things about drag and I bet you'll agree. It's like one of the only art forms where you can flat out stare right at someone and say, are you going to give me money now? And they love it. I know. Any other art form, it's like, you're a sellout. Drag queens, you walk around like... And that's the thing where like I am a stand up. And like I I've been a part of the stand-up world for all these years, but, like, I'm kind of like, I have different rules.
Starting point is 00:32:21 Like, I used to be a drag queen. So, like, I'm allowed to, like, get money and, like, wear rhinestones if I feel like it. Like, I'm playing, I'm, like, this drag hybrid. I don't, it's a part of me. For sure. Also, I think of, like, Alvira, or I think of, like, characters like that
Starting point is 00:32:38 where you're doing this heightened woman thing with the comedy, there's a different level of commanding something the audience and they're waiting for you to tell them what to do. If you're like, get on the floor, bitch. They're like, I love you. I'll be your commander. I'll be your commander.
Starting point is 00:32:54 That's the best song of all time. Commander? Commander is so good. Okay. It's been in my song, it's been in my head for literally weeks now. When you were doing drag, drag, drag. Did you lip sync? And if so, did you do commender?
Starting point is 00:33:08 Never liked lip singing, but I did do it. I was always a hostess. Right. So, like, I would host brunch. I loved a brunch. I loved being in bed by 2.m. Do you have never done a brunch? I loved it.
Starting point is 00:33:22 Oh, it was my favorite. Because I would, like, do brunch, and then I would take, like, a nap like this, you know, and then go do stand-up. And then I'd usually do another drag gig after. Like, I was, like, five, six nights a week drag. In L.A. In L.A. Yeah. There was so many opportunities at the time.
Starting point is 00:33:39 It was just, like, it was amazing. But you know what I tell people? Like, yes, there's less opportunities for drag now. They think there was five years ago and less and more. But do not underestimate the power of going into a place that currently doesn't have a drag show. Yeah. And saying, can I do this for like three months? And if we make, if it does well, can I start getting paid?
Starting point is 00:33:59 Like, or if I find us a sponsor, can we? Because just because there's no existing show at that club on a Tuesday, do not wait for the Wednesday through Sunday girls to throw you a bone. Go start your own fucking show. These 21-year-old drag queens who's. Friends are all 21. Do not wait for these old drag queens to fucking die for you to get a cast spot. Start your own show. Right.
Starting point is 00:34:19 And like that's the shows that really turn me out. Because then you got the fun, cool young drag queens and their friends. People that age are waiting for this big of an excuse to go and get drunk. Yeah. They're so excited. I'll be there. Yeah. That's so exciting.
Starting point is 00:34:31 It's hard to get 40-year-old married guys to go to a drag show. My fucking friends are like, oh God, you're going to be in Milwaukee. You still just have the blonde wig on. I've seen it. Yeah, right. Yeah, exactly. I, you know, I really like drag right now more than I have in a long time. I do too.
Starting point is 00:34:48 I love it. I love it. Like, I'm so, I personally am not the, like, for children and for everyone. I mean, I think it's great that that exists, but I am kind of like an old school. Like, you know, like, I, I'm very close with, like, older drag queens, you know, like Jackie Beed and Cocoa and Sherry, like, all those people. Yes. I like the people that did it before what it became and are continuing to do it.
Starting point is 00:35:20 I'm very inspired by them. Well, that's good because they hate what it's become. So it's kind of an exchange program. Right, exactly. It is an exchange program. I love Coco. She just told some story about me in a pod from a time she came. She and I had lunch together in a hotel room once when I was like 25.
Starting point is 00:35:35 You went to a hotel room with Cocoa perro? She came to my hotel room. You know what? As I told this back? It doesn't sound good. I don't know if I was safe. Does not. She wanted it.
Starting point is 00:35:42 My bra just hanging out. I thought that was part of it. I lost all this weight and now my boobs are gone. I need to get some. You want some cutlets? Fake ones. No. Do you mean surgical or do you mean like inserts?
Starting point is 00:35:54 Yeah, I don't, I haven't had surgeries. Oh, okay. Yeah, and I need to get me some very big ones. Oh, you're going to go. I don't know. You let us know in the comments. How big should I go? I really do.
Starting point is 00:36:07 Don't ask this audience. They're going to be like, The huge one. Double J. Yeah, why not? Dragging behind you, and we'd like to see the video of the surgery, please.
Starting point is 00:36:15 Like, our fans, they want to see it. They want you to come back on here, topless on the Patreon, just sit here nude and be like, the surgery went great. Okay, here's, I had this dream.
Starting point is 00:36:26 I get, like, what do they call, um, where you're like kind of dreaming and, but like, that's when I think a lot. Is it lucid dreaming? Lucid dreaming,
Starting point is 00:36:33 I think maybe. I was sitting there and I was thinking about like, because I'm always dealing with haunted objects and shit. People are always like talking about that with me and I go to eBay and find haunted dolls and whatever. And I was like, what if I had haunted breast implants? And then I was thinking, what if this is a movie and what if it was called entities? N?
Starting point is 00:37:01 Like entities. Oh. See, that's not a lucid dream. That's a stroke of brilliance. Thank you. We might need to cut this. So no. Actually, you know what?
Starting point is 00:37:11 No one steals it. Netflix is going to make this in four months and they're going to be like, I'm not going to be in it. Oh, no. Who's going to play you? Listen, as long as I get the creator. Yes, we can have Salita Gomez is going to play me. Or let's see. Jenna Ortega.
Starting point is 00:37:26 Who's the lady that was on Glee, who that has the bangs? People always tell me. Leah Michelle? Leah Michelle. People always tell me I look like Leah and Michelle. Well, what do you? What? Girl, I can't go anywhere.
Starting point is 00:37:39 Who tells you that to your face? People will comment on this video. Oh, I didn't know. Leah Michelle wore blue ostrich feathers. But Leah Michelle ain't reading those comments. Okay. Listen, she could read my audiobook. It's only audio.
Starting point is 00:37:56 Now, do you think audiobooks count as reading? Because I do and Katie doesn't. No. Okay. But the reason that mine is only audio is because I took a recorder with me and I used that audio into whatever with my writing. Oh, so your book is not a written book. No, it is a written book. Oh. But instead of being like, and then Trixie said this and I have to do some weird audio book voice of you. I would play.
Starting point is 00:38:21 I play a clip. You know, because it's like, because my temptation would be to do like an impression of the voice. And what does that sound like? And what does that sound like? Okay. Well, okay, so I would do that and then. Brandon has an impressionation of me. He does all the time. Does he? Uh, yeah. He does like a really breathy voice like that. Now sounds like Amanda. I can't do impressions. That's good though because I love bad impressions.
Starting point is 00:38:46 So I think you should try. I can do really. Give me someone. Do share. Oh. Scooby-Doo. That's Scooby-Doo. Scooby-Doo.
Starting point is 00:38:55 Scooby-Doo. That's Scooby-Doo. Brittany, Spears. See, I don't even. It's not even worth that. Well, and also you're with me and, you know, people love my dialect work and my character study.
Starting point is 00:39:08 You're very good. And very rooted in reality. You are. I bet Zara Larson really recently. And I was like, so, when I do this, my Swedish sister. And I don't think she knows that I perpetuate that I'm from Sweden. So she was just like, what? Oh, Zara.
Starting point is 00:39:23 And then I hold right home. I was like, never ending midnight song. Because to me that's Swedish. That was Swedish? I've traveled a lot. Have you been to Sweden? No, I haven't been anywhere. I haven't been anywhere.
Starting point is 00:39:36 Wait, where do you like the most out of everywhere you've been? been. Honestly, Sweden's up there. As I'm traveling more, tell me where I need to go. Have you been to Mexico? Well, yeah. Mexico's cool. Have you been to...
Starting point is 00:39:47 Where? Oh, Mexico City. Of course. It was awesome. I do a lot of gay cruises. Oh. Go to Mexico. One of my dreams is to do a cruise.
Starting point is 00:39:58 If I ever get to do a cruise, would you come on? Gay cruise? No, to do a Trixie cruise. Oh, my God. That would be so fun. Where I get all my... The Trixie universe, get all the girls. And we all go on there and we...
Starting point is 00:40:09 We do drag shows one night, a pool beach party. Then we have a stand-up showcase. I love cruises. Raj can host brunch. Raj you can host brunch. Let me do it, please. I'll do it for free. You don't have to pay me.
Starting point is 00:40:21 If we got like you, like Nicole, like a bunch of the stand-up people so you guys could do a proper show one night. And then people could come see me DJ as the after party. Like we could do or, you know what else I'd love to do some kind of drag competition that takes place on the boat that the people who are coming are competing. and then they win a title of like the cruise. That's fun. That's what my current tour right now,
Starting point is 00:40:43 I'm doing my podcast ghosted, and I decided to turn it into an audience ghost story competition. So it's like a spelling beat. Like we like set up a microphone and then I call people's names. They put it in a bucket and they come up and they try to dazzle us with their ghost story. And then we vote for who's got the best ghost story.
Starting point is 00:41:03 I. Isn't that fun? We've been doing it in gay bars and I'm about to do 18 cities. by myself again. No book this time. Where can people get tickets? Oh, rosherndeztour.com. Ross Hernandez Tour.
Starting point is 00:41:16 You guys, Roz is so amazing. And I know that you're hilarious, but I have to say... I haven't really shown that today. I apologize. No, you're also so... Listen, comedy sells, but sex sells. And you are so gorgeous. Really?
Starting point is 00:41:28 Are you kidding? Thank you. Do you know how much I love your hair? I've always wanted to do... The only person I know who does it is share the little... These things, yeah. I have some Lady Bunny one, but in blonde they look like Lady Bunny Bunny.
Starting point is 00:41:38 No, I call these my drive-thru window headset. It totally is that. Excuse me, did you want a horsey sauce with that? It's like the front half of a Velma Kelly wig. Yeah, very much. Yeah, very much. You cut that off, you glued it to a pony. I love these things.
Starting point is 00:41:56 These things have changed my life. They're gorge. Do they give you, because some girls get like, would be have bangs like that? Sometimes people, it gives them breakouts, the hair resting on the face. Do you get breakouts from it or no? I don't know, you tell me. Not at all. Not a poor.
Starting point is 00:42:08 But some people when they get banks for the first time They find out their hair oil gives them Oh girl, I don't know what the fuck is going on under there We don't move that. That is none of my business There's a lot of things that could be under there That I don't know about and I don't want to I sometimes have been outside and a gust of wind comes And I'm looking at myself in like a window or whatever
Starting point is 00:42:25 And it's like, can't look anymore I don't want to know Well I actually have a different outfit to put on for the last half of the interview Would you be open to that? You have a different outfit? Yeah, I need you to close your eyes Okay. Really?
Starting point is 00:42:38 excited that you're changing. Oh yeah. Don't look. Don't look. Okay. Yeah, so I'm going to, oh my God, so many cities. And it's rosherndez-to-word.com. My audiobook, which is all about me being a transgender comedian in America trying to find my audience, that is called peeing in an empty bottle. And it's available everywhere you get audiobooks.
Starting point is 00:43:06 My podcast is called Ghosted by Ross Hernandez. I have lots of like drag queens and queer people, celebrities, all kinds of people. We talk about ghosts. Oh, Ross Hernandez is the Haunted Doll is my YouTube channel where I stay in haunted hotel rooms with guys I meet on Grindr. Oh, I have an advice podcast called for a good time called Ross. Okay. Okay. I'm back.
Starting point is 00:43:33 Oh, my God. What do you think? You look so cute. You have just a sheet on now. Do you know I couldn't find this? Do you want to know why? Because I used this for my upcoming Halloween special and my housekeeper folded it up and put it in the linen closet.
Starting point is 00:43:51 She thought it was. I was like, where the fuck did she put this? I went, you know what? She probably thought it was a bed sheet. And I went up there and it was sitting in the bed sheets. But you know what I love about it? Just like Michael Henry's friend, two holes. Two holes.
Starting point is 00:44:04 It's too old. Totally. So I have a bunch of questions for you, and these are going to be rapid fire. Okay. We never do anything fun like this, but when I go on other people's ponds, we do some kind of rapid fire a game, and I think it's so fun. Oh, yeah, just wait until you go on mine. And, you know, being friends. Two years later.
Starting point is 00:44:17 I will. Tracy, respond to my people. I'll do it. I'll figure it out. Is Tracy who I should be mad at? No. No, I mean, you can be mad at here. No, I'm so happy.
Starting point is 00:44:27 Tracy's the one that call me about those. Tracy eats. This is my, this is the biggest thing that's ever happened to me, Tracy. You are not. Thank you. Stop, stop, stop. This is a very big deal for me. I really appreciate this.
Starting point is 00:44:38 I was like, do you think we could get Roz? I think you're exactly what you're saying. Halfway across the country driving your own tours. I'm like, I don't know if she's around. Because I have to. I don't know, girl, her car's broken down on the side of a mountain. Let's see if she's available. Seriously, that could be the case.
Starting point is 00:44:53 So, which L.A. gay bar would you want to haunt as a ghost? Aqbar. So whatever answer, whatever that question was going to be, it was Aqbar. I love Aqbar. Which LA Bar would you burn to the ground? And you said, Akbar. No, no. I wouldn't do that. But you didn't. I love Acbar, too.
Starting point is 00:45:09 I was just there Saturday. They have the best stand-up show that no, like, a lot of people have no clue that. It's a free stand-up show. It's amazing. On Tuesday nights, it's my favorite place to work on new material. I've seen Wanda Sykes in that room. Fortune. Like, it's amazing. Yeah. I've done it.
Starting point is 00:45:24 Brandon's done it. I've gone and, like, it's really good and not that long. Yeah. Oh, it's perfect. Gay people do not hold you hostage. Yeah. All right. What are the requirements for you to have? one join you on a ghost hunt? Well, since I only find them on Grindr,
Starting point is 00:45:40 I prefer gay guys or dolls, though I haven't yet been able to confirm a doll. I don't want any, like, DL, like, looking for, it's just too weird. That's what a lot of people want me to do, but I'm like, you don't. Those guys are not funny and fun. And they're just trying to fuck me the whole time.
Starting point is 00:46:03 They're uncomfortable. Yeah. If they're trying to be DL, why would they come on camera with you to hunt the ghost? What do we do, blur out their face? Exactly. So, no. Well, when did you know you were funny? Jury's still out.
Starting point is 00:46:15 And when did you decide? When I was a little child, wait, I could tell you, when I was a child, when I was a child, I used to make up fake jokes. I would stand on my mantle fireplace and I would make jokes. And the one that really hit was, what did the lamp say to the light bulb? You really turn me on. And everybody died laughing, and I didn't know why. But it was, so that became my joke when I was like five. You were killing it.
Starting point is 00:46:41 Actually, this was like last year. That was like my best joke I've ever written. Okay, sorry. But you are young. But I like, now you're trying to paint the picture that you were a child last year. Maybe you were. No, I definitely was not. Oh, and when did you decide to dedicate your life to having bangs?
Starting point is 00:47:00 21. Okay, great. My whole life started. then. You have a new series called For a Good Time, Call Raz, now available on YouTube and Patreon. For a bad time, who should they call? Oh, Tracy. I don't know. She's right there. I don't know. Let's pick a drag race queen and let's say it on the count of three. Oh, a drag race queen. That's a bad time. Yeah. Okay, one, two, three. Willem. Oh. Willem. Oh, Willam's not a bad time.
Starting point is 00:47:32 No, but you said it too. So just cut it together so we both said Willem. Okay, great. If you had an endless budget, where would you want to go check out hauntings in next? England. Oh, fierce. Yeah. Everything's haunted in England.
Starting point is 00:47:45 Because old. Yeah. Yeah. You know, stuff here's not that old. It's like one. But you know, old doesn't equal haunted. That's one of the biggest myths we all have. Oh.
Starting point is 00:47:55 You can be in, this place is probably haunted. It is now. Boo. Okay. Do you think we'll start seeing Crocker. and kaff tans on the runway. I hope. I'm all about the comfort. If you can keep it, you know, cute for yourself.
Starting point is 00:48:10 You would look great in like a Trina Turk, like... I love Trina Turk. Love. Some of my favorite items I own are Trina Turk. Me too. So comfortable. Yeah. Great prints, too. Is there anyone you would want to summon? If you could talk to a ghost? Like someone that's dead. Who would I want to talk to? Probably divine.
Starting point is 00:48:33 Oh, I love that. Yeah, wouldn't that be fun? Yeah, what do you think? I think she'd be like, girl, this world is spot. Good thing I left when I did. No, absolutely. And then finally, this is crazy. Your audiobook is called peeing in an empty bottle.
Starting point is 00:48:48 Yes. Can you describe the bottle? Well, I think it depends on what you got going on down there, but it does seem like two holes, three holes, no matter what you have. Like a Gatorade is probably, it's got the widest mouth. I peed in a bottle once and it was a Gatorade bottle. You've only peed in a bottle once? I was driving my smart car in college and I had to pee so bad and I didn't want to stop driving. And I forgot later that it was pee in there and I took a sip.
Starting point is 00:49:13 Well, that's how my audiobook ends. Okay, shit. That literally did happen to me. There are no new experiences. We have one last segment if you want to not be a ghost. Oh, sure. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Of course.

Starting point is 00:50:25 solidarity. Oh, God. Oh, no. No, no. Katia, we stand with you. No, no. No, we don't. No, we don't. No matter what, Katia. I'm so sorry that you couldn't be here today, but we love you, Katia. So Katia's outy. So if you could pick one of these from the bald cap, you have to do one of these as if Katya, as a Katya. You look insane girl. But actually, still gorge. Really? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:50:55 You guys are so sweet. Okay, what do you want me to? Okay, it's 100 degrees outside and your air conditioning broke. Who is the first person you call? You want me to answer that question? We're answering as Katia. Oh, um, if the air conditioning broke, uh, God, I guess I don't know who she calls in situations like this.
Starting point is 00:51:22 They probably call me. Would she call you? Yeah, Mary. Mary. No, she'd be at a, that bitch should be at a five-star hotel in 10 minutes. Oh, interesting. No interest in heat or discomfort, yes. Yeah, me, same.
Starting point is 00:51:36 All right, shoot, is it. Love it. All right, that's it. It's a new game we just started. We don't know if it's working. You guys, thank you so much to rise, and we'll see you very soon. Goodbye. Bye. Thank you.
