Starting point is 00:00:00 Welcome back to the base me are today me and Danny are hanging out in my living room as always I don't know why I said that like that's something new. I am drinking though because I have it in a while and Today's kind of a weird day so far. So we're gonna. What do you got? What do you got going there sippy sip sippy sip sip? What do you got going there? It's actually one of my favorite beers what's on that a lion Yeah, it's a lion. What a crown. It's called pile of crowns It's good pile of crowns. That's a man. That's manly beer. Yeah, I mean, you know
Starting point is 00:00:35 Nothing wrong with a manly beard. I'm a manly guy a beer a manly beard would be great I wish I can grow a manly beard. You don't have a manly beard. Nah It's a little patchy. It's a little patchy. Would you say I have a manly beard? I would say you have a more full beard than me for sure I think I have good stubble, but as far as a beard goes. I think I'm not built for that sort of thing What's the farthest like for me like what's the farthest you think you could grow it out? or would I
Starting point is 00:01:03 Would love to have just like a lumberjack fucking beard. Yeah, and be yoked Yeah, but the yoked has to come first. I hear you because that's way harder It's not gonna help with me drinking beers on the show, but I have to be jacked First right then you can grow out the beard. Yeah, you know being jacked and having a beers You're up there. Yeah, that's awesome. Yeah What's the longest you've ever had your beard? Um, I grew it out I think like two or three years ago for no shave November and it got pretty like it wasn't big It was just like full
Starting point is 00:01:37 But I'm like Irish so I get like random red hairs. Yeah, so you can see like what what is it? I get little red hairs, too. Yeah, I don't like it. I found my first white hair White or gray white white All right, it was it was gray and white in my beard Three of them That's kind of sexy though. Yeah, I guess if the if the rest of it would come in looking normal Yeah, I have grays on the side of my head. Yeah, that's kind of hot though, too Though you're gonna be a silver fox like by the time you're 35. That's not fire at all
Starting point is 00:02:13 Who wants to be fucking silver by 35? I don't think I'll be so no you'll be peppery There were definitely me some pepper. It'll be peppered. I'll be salt. Yeah, you the S&P'd yeah Would you ever like if you were getting grays say like? Half if you're gonna ask me if I'm dying it. No, no, yeah, would you would you would you like just for a minute at what age like 35? Probably throw one in there. I think 40. I'm okay with my hair being gray a 40 I'm okay with being fat a bad father out of shape Just all those things cuz like 40 is like listen Don't bother me. I'm just like bundled into one. So those are some life goals
Starting point is 00:02:52 Let me live out my next 40 years on the couch watching the game yelling at the Giants and the Knicks, okay? Cuz the hard works should be done already Hopefully by that point most of it But I'm talking about like kids and like shit like that. What's my kids like? 10 Not my problem, right? I tried yeah, all right now you could send them to school most of the time Take care of my kid. How like I was gonna ask again. How old are you when you're 10? But like what ages that that's fifth grade
Starting point is 00:03:19 What grade is that? I mean I think fourth or fifth grade. I was walking to school by then. Yeah. Yeah, so fuck Do you ever think like school basically they're kind of please any teachers don't get offended by this Oh, this is gonna be good. No, but it's public school. It's like It's kind of like thank God cuz you could drop your kid off there And be like you don't have to worry about where they are. Oh, yeah, it's the daycare center It is it's like some benefits. Thank God. I get to leave my kid here for free and it's gonna learn Sign me the fuck up. It does my job for me. Yeah, it doesn't my job for me Yeah, I can't teach this kid how to fucking divide. Yeah, I'm so afraid to help my children with their homework, dude
Starting point is 00:04:00 It's going to be Awful dude, I mean you saw it. We took an eighth grade test. We took a fifth grade test. I Mean I I shit it on the eighth grade test. Yeah I was I was I was taking but I was taken back. I was jealous. I was a little jealous the fifth grade test though I had a little blue trumps. Yeah. Yeah trouble. Well, you're closer to being an eighth grade than you were in fifth grade So that's why I just you know came to you a little easier. I guess so but I think a little bit more of that knowledge I was way smarter in fifth grade than I was an eighth grade eighth grade. I was a fucking idiot. Do you think? Like as humans like
Starting point is 00:04:35 Obviously, we have the ability to become smarter, but I'm trying to think of like At an older age, do you think there's ways that like you can learn how to retain knowledge better? What the fuck does that mean retain knowledge? No, I know what that means, but like what do you mean like? Is there a way to learn like you know like apps like luma sit like Luma city shit like that like brain exercises brain exercises. Well, yeah, believe in like that type of stuff Absolutely that you can get your brain to a point where you could like Say like cuz on the type of person if I read a book And I put it down. I don't remember anything that I read
Starting point is 00:05:13 But I think you do like subconsciously like maybe you don't remember the exact plot But you are training your you're using your brain you're training it. I think it's like a muscle. Yeah, so it's kind of like those You know, I think it's like anything. It's muscle muscle memory, right? You know, so if you are doing like luma city or like, you know shit like that I find that on days that I actually find time to read Yeah, I feel like If I do that consistently like I'm having like a really good week, right? And I don't know if that's because like I'm usually waking up earlier and then you know finding time to read so I'm like
Starting point is 00:05:51 Clearly ahead on things and you know, but do you think it creates some kind of a placebo effect within you though? Like throughout the week, uh, maybe but but a placebo effects to me a placebo Technically has real effects. Yeah, I agree because whatever you it's scientifically proven Right a placebo like if I'm telling you like oh, I have a headache and you give me like Oh, here's a a Tylenol, but it's a skittle And I don't fucking know and I take it and I feel better It worked because the psycho like, you know what I'm saying. Yeah, for sure
Starting point is 00:06:23 Like my perception is what it is. Yeah. Yeah, so like that's what like I mean before we get into that, uh Because you brought reading and this is this is gonna drop on new year's new year's eve new year's eve So like no one's listening to this This might be our lowest fucking We should phone it in after like 20 minutes. Yeah, that's fine, but uh Like I want to see This is so it's such a stupid resolution. This is this is gonna make it one of my new year's resolutions is to get smarter
Starting point is 00:06:58 Oh my god And by get smarter, I mean like Learn more about like culture Like like other countries cultures and like and read more That's one of my new year's resolutions is to read about other cultures of the world and how other parts of the world work Yeah, but I don't think that makes you smarter. I think that just makes you like cultured cultured You want to be more culture that's smarter. I don't think I could get smart No, you can of course you can get smarter
Starting point is 00:07:28 You do technically get smarter every day. You learn new things every day unless you just you know Yeah, I I don't know it's tough for me Well, I I have a tough time. I went through a phase. I went through a phase where I told people where I wanted to have like, uh I wanted to extend my vocabulary. Yeah, and but you you do you do that by reading. Well, I do that now I do word of the day I mean, yeah, if you're nine, that's how you do it Yeah, basically I gotta start somewhere. You gotta start somewhere. You gotta build a foundation. I'll tell you this. I'll tell you this
Starting point is 00:08:02 When it comes to me, I know I know my ceiling. Yeah, you know It's not that high, but but yeah, I'm a very Savvy person street savvy person. Sure. I'm very intelligent. Yeah, don't let it fool you but When it comes to like reading books, you can't read not great I can read fully. I'm a fully educated man. I know you can read but like I'll read one page of a book and be like, uh, uh
Starting point is 00:08:35 I can't do this. It's something you have to Does that make me dumb though? No I think a part of it does Why does that make you dumb? Because a part of me feels dumb that I don't even have the capacity to pick up a book and read it It's not the capacity. You have the capacity. You just don't have the urge. You don't have the need the want You don't find it satisfying. Some people find it satisfying. I read to force myself to be Uncomfortable, which is why I do certain things in my life because I feel like I've never really I haven't had to answer to anyone
Starting point is 00:09:09 Since I dropped out of college. Yeah, really So it was like good decision, mother of what dropping out of college. Yeah Yeah, thank god for that Thank god that worked out. But anyway, no, but I'm saying like I do certain things Like remember when I was talking about how I was running a lot because I hate running. Yeah, and uh, I read because I'm not necessarily a person who Is like, oh my god, the book was so much better than the movie like I fucking hate people like that Yeah, like even if it's true, I'll say that to me right because most of the time I'm talking about the movie Oh, the movie was dope. It's like yeah, but the book was better. It's like why you got shit on me
Starting point is 00:09:44 Yeah, just let me have the movie. Oh You didn't read all the harry potter books. You just saw the movie suck my ass I can't wait for the new season of game of thrones. Yeah, I read the books. I can't wait either. Shut the fuck up Yeah, I want to see how I want to see how close they say to the actual book I'm like, dude Fuck you. Fuck you and george rr martin. Yeah, and the other thing too is I'm I'm jealous of people that like I'll see on the train And they're reading and they're reading and they actually look like they're genuinely enjoying reading Well, people in genuinely enjoy I think it's it's sort of uh
Starting point is 00:10:17 Relaxing in a way therapeutic. I find it a little bit therapeutic. I you know what it is I also feel very accomplished after I do something that I hate doing like when I go running Like immediately after like I'm tired, but like you know, I'm My wind is there now. My stamina is pretty good. So after I'm done. I'm not like super tired anymore But every single time I feel like I did it like I'm I did that whatever and if I read for 30 to 45 minutes an hour or whatever a day I feel like Very good about myself afterwards and that just kind of propels you into the rest of the day. I feel like like another like
Starting point is 00:10:52 Another new year's resolution. I'm messing with too is uh I want to start waking up earlier What time do you usually wake up? Uh If I'm being honest, hold on. Let me let me let me ask you this. Okay What's the latest you've slept in the past year? Into a day Yeah, and I'm talking about like even if you were drunk as fuck or whatever like one or two in the afternoon
Starting point is 00:11:17 okay I've never like slept into the night and like thought it was the next day What would you say you're uh What do they call that the human clock your your uh eternal clock eternal clock? What is your like eternal clock at well a time? Well, it switches. Um Like Say I have a week where I fall asleep at 3 30 in the morning
Starting point is 00:11:41 Like uh because I was playing red dev redemption like couldn't go to sleep right I'm fucked for two weeks Because now I will not be able to fall asleep until 3 30 in the morning For the rest of that week. So I would get now I'm going on like six or seven hours of sleep The earliest that I could wake up and be functional would be like 9 30 or 10 o'clock Which is way too late for me. I think for someone to start their day Yes, I haven't seen 10 o'clock and I don't know how long it's a it's a I think it's a it's also a millennial type of thing like
Starting point is 00:12:15 Like starting your work day later I think because like our era is like Our parents era was like you woke up at five o'clock in the morning. You were like out the door Was it yes My father was always out the door at 6 37 o'clock. He wrote a newspaper that even worked like Well, my mom she gets up early. She's an early riser for sure So am I though like if I don't set an alarm and I go out drinking Yeah, and I'm drunk as hell and I get home at 3 I will be up
Starting point is 00:12:47 At 8 the latest right like I my my eternal clock right now internal clock. Yeah It eternal clock that sounds mad like eternal clock. Yeah, it sounds like like I'm gonna die sounds like a spell. Yeah Yo, hold on. Do you remember that website back in the day? It was called like Like it was like the time you're gonna die. Yeah, what was that called? I can't remember, but I know you're talking about It was like something clock.com. Do you remember that other article that thing too? It was like a fake news article website no it was like you you would type in uh like
Starting point is 00:13:21 The website and then add like joe plus santa gato and it would put your name in a new that I died Yeah, that you died. Yeah, it was weird. Yeah, I remember it was called like What the fuck's that called? It's something clock.com and you put your name in and it would just tell you like when you're gonna die and it would have like You know this many years this many days this many minutes and seconds. This is creepy But what the fuck are we talking about? Oh my my my internal clock. Are you are you afraid to die? Yeah, you know what it is. I'm not I'm not necessarily afraid I'm just definitely not like ready and I know that's like obvious because I'm only 26 years old right But I just really feel like I'd be so mad because I have so much shit that I want to do
Starting point is 00:14:00 I'd be so mad. Yeah, but like I feel like at a certain point I won't be mad if it happens But I just I would be so mad because I feel like I'm just getting to a point where I could get so much shit done Right, you know and I really want to do that stuff and like see it through like I would really be upset Like if I get murdered, I'd be so mad at that person. Right that they murdered me You know what I would be too. Yeah, I'd be very upset at it. No, but hold on I want to say like what my internal clock right now is like 7 15. Yeah, but I've been pushing it backwards You mean you yeah, you're waking up earlier. I want to get I want to get it earlier. Do you think?
Starting point is 00:14:38 You're obviously there's more hours in a day, but it's really what you do with those hours Mm-hmm, but would you say people that wake up earlier or more successful people? Well, I think it goes back to what you're saying It depends on what you do at those hours like if you're up early and it's for no reason then why yeah, you know, whatever But yeah, no for me. That's like because I would love to wake up earlier I would love to start my days realistically like 6 30 in the morning Yeah, that's a normal time Like I would yeah, I would even aim for for earlier so that you're nuts
Starting point is 00:15:12 No, because the the rock wakes up at like four in the morning I woke up before in the morning of the other day like a 4 15 And I was like why though? Well, I was going into the gym at five But it was like my semi-long for 4 45, but I woke up at 4 15 And like this whole week well last week I was trying to wake up at five every single day to go to the gym because my cousin and espo. They go to the gym at five Uh because they have to for work and because yes because have to go to work So I was like I want to do that
Starting point is 00:15:38 I want to get I want to get my clock a little earlier because usually I'm in the gym by eight nine o'clock And you know, whatever well now you mean your hair like usually at nine, so I'll go at eight or something But I want to go at five like I want to be up at that time And I love being up at that time like you're leaving the gym and it's still dark out It's like, you know, I have the entire day to do whatever and you just feel way more productive And if you're someone like me, I mean, I'm just in one of my Fucking modes where I'm just like work work work work. Well, you're going beast mode these days Yeah, so I'm like I really love the fact that I can get all those hours and be like, yo
Starting point is 00:16:11 Fuck it and like I've been saying this to people all the time Like as far as anything that makes you uncomfortable and something you don't like doing but you wish you could do Yeah I do stuff little stuff like that all the time. Like I said the running thing the reading thing like those things I don't really like I think that's a good start for me though. I think that's a good starting point for me Is six thirty is to start waking up earlier wake up at six then I'll try that's like my that's like one of my main new year's resolutions And then my other one is to is to get in the gym
Starting point is 00:16:42 so So a suggestion what I did last week because I didn't make it to the gym But my alarm was set for for 30 every day Yeah, and I'd hit my alarm And I you know, whatever And then I'd fall back asleep or like little snooze I've never snoozed. I don't know nothing wrong with a snooze. I don't snooze. I like shut it off and
Starting point is 00:17:05 uh, you know, whatever so I shut it off and then sometimes and then three days in a row. I fell back asleep or One of those days. I was just like I just can't like I just don't I'm not feeling it Right, so I just went back to sleep and like that's discouraging and you get fucking mad at yourself But you keep setting that alarm and then eventually it becomes easier and easier to wake up You have a little more energy when the fucking alarm clock goes off and you're like, all right Like today and then that other day I woke up at 10 after four and I was like, oh, I'm wired But the thing is is like if I wake up at five or six
Starting point is 00:17:35 I have to have something to do Because if I wake up and there's nothing to do going back to sleep dog go to the gym going back to sleep go to the gym That's what I got to start doing or go for a run. That's what I got to start doing. Dude, you know how like You know how fucking I can't I can't just you feel I can't run though. I can't I can't whatever do something Yeah, like extra I can do elliptical some easier on my back. Jesus. What are you like a 70 year old woman? Do that talk about my back again? I'll tell you this my back is fucked. Okay. I I actually bought running shoes Oh, yes, which was my start because here's another I feel like I'm only telling my resolutions I'll get my resolutions out. Then you'll do yours. Okay. Um, so mine was I would like to be more cultured
Starting point is 00:18:18 We settled on that word um I would like to wake up earlier. Yeah On weekdays. Okay. Maybe even on weekends too, but let's start for weekdays um I want to exercise. Yeah, like actually get into like a routine um And the other one was
Starting point is 00:18:44 Be a little better with money Oh, yeah, that's a big that's a big one for me. Yeah coming up this year. Yes Because as I'm going You know I'm gonna make more money I don't know about that At some point at some point I would hope we're coming up on a year Hopefully something guys. Come on guys push for me. Everyone always push for me
Starting point is 00:19:12 Everyone always comments like yo, so you got to give Danny a rate. I'm like, yo, it's never gonna happen. No, but it's like But it's like it's one of those things where The essentials of life. Oh boy the essentials of life really Don't involve like owning like 700 pairs of shoes Absolutely not. You know what I mean? Not even close and My thing was is that listen like like we talked about it real briefly before like if you're afraid to die or whatever Like what what I went through um
Starting point is 00:19:43 I've accepted death Jesus relax evanescence. No I've accepted death. No, and here's here's why because I went through a fucking period where I was so Afraid to die all the time when I was going to the hospital like every night I the thing that helped my anxiety and panic like really a lot besides like therapy and shit like that was like You know if I die I die That's what I said to you
Starting point is 00:20:11 Yeah, and and and it's been one of the most beneficial things to me because I was like, yo if I die I'm just gonna die. Yeah, I don't want to die. No, but if it's like, yo, if you fucking die and you're asleep tonight, dude That's all she wrote. Yeah, you can't control that the fact that I realized that like There's certain things you can control in life and certain things you can't death's not death's not one Yeah, you can't control that So my thing is is that the things that I can control though is waking up earlier Trying to culture myself a little bit more read a little more exercise more
Starting point is 00:20:48 and kind of think about my future A little bit more besides like when the next jordan releases is coming. Let me ask you something right How many of these things are actually gonna happen? Um, I'm gonna start with one and here's why Which one starting next week, I'm gonna start my new year's resolutions a week early Why aren't you starting tomorrow? Because here's why I like that you said that The reason I'm not starting tomorrow is because I have some other things that I have to do Like edit a couple shows and I know like I'll be pushing into like the late night hours to do that
Starting point is 00:21:23 So when it comes Christmas week, that's gonna be the week where I'm gonna try and start waking up at Give me six thirty Hey You wanted six thirty. That's what I want. This isn't about what you want. Yeah, sure It's it's six thirty if you if you shoot for six, you'll get six thirty. Okay. So all right six You will stand up at six thirty. Yeah, I will I will stand out of bed at six. Just just let that alarm hit at six a.m
Starting point is 00:21:52 Every day or you know what let that should have hit at five fifty five just so you could get the five Yeah, that'll make you feel nice My alarms at five fifty five you get you get to hit the five the five is like elite Yeah, if your alarm set at five every day That is that is one thing. Yeah, and I know there's like a study or something that says like successful people wake up Something astronomically ridiculous I'm like four a.m. Or some shit like four whatever and like four thirty or some forget who it is But there's a company that has like a youtube channel. They put out this video
Starting point is 00:22:24 It's like everything you do in a day, right and they had like Michael B. Jordan on there They had vanity fair vanity fair. It was Michael B. Jordan Mark Cuban mark Cuban terry cruise. Yeah, all these dudes are waking up at like five thirty six clock Crushing it. Yeah, so it's like there has to be a correlation between Waking up and crushing it I don't think it's the act of waking up. I think it's what I was talking about where it's It's The will to make yourself uncomfortable
Starting point is 00:22:56 Because that's the only way that you can Move forward and progress is like people tell you all the time like you fail a hundred times or like right right or like, you know It's it gets uh worse before it gets better. It's like it's all suffering. Yeah that leads to a Good part and and some progression there and I really believe that and that's why I go out of my way to make sure that I feel uncomfortable because Like the last two years of my life I was extremely comfortable right and I slacked off on everything and I completely lost myself And do you do you think that you needed to go through that period to kind of get to where you're at now?
Starting point is 00:23:33 No, I don't think it was necessary So you think you kind of that's like a wasted part of your life. You think I don't think no No, I don't think it's wasted. I just think that it was the not the most productive part of my life It's you know, you you go through waves and I'm not going to sit here and act like I'm fucking fixed or whatever Like it just comes in waves Yeah, I just happened to be on a really good kick and like even when I was going through that I knew it Right. I knew what I was doing. You were aware of it. Yeah, but I just it's hard to just like have the will to get yourself out of it but it's like that's why
Starting point is 00:24:02 I think if you're asking me today, I feel like it won't happen again because I do things now purposefully to not Feel comfortable like I'll go running or like if I have nothing to do like I'll go do something that I don't want to do Right, you know like Whatever or even if I if I don't want to go even the little things like that Like I don't really want to go out tonight. I'd rather just stay in like I'm gonna go out. Yeah I was you know, dude like just getting in the it I literally compared to to football because When I went to football camp in high school
Starting point is 00:24:33 It's suffering dude every single day. It's awful like we did three days I had to be on the field at eight Which mean you had to be up at six And I wouldn't need that was another thing too. So then and then you would practice, you know eat lunch practice Eat dinner get on a bus drive to our home field and then do your last practice there So it was a lot. I fucking miss it so much But anyway, so that whole like experience of that of being extremely uncomfortable and literally your entire day And life is dedicated to this thing. Right
Starting point is 00:25:07 That teaches you a lot about discipline and like all these things and it's like that was cool for like high school And then you forget about it. Obviously. Well, you also get to do it with like 40 other people. Sure Which helps it's like, yeah, we're all in this together But I'm saying it's just the idea of being uncomfortable. Yeah, and and forcing yourself to do things that you don't necessarily like Would prefer to do right is helpful. Well, that's something that I had to do and then like my fifth one was Like I want to I want to help people with their mental health I want to be like a little like a bit of an advocate for that Trying to help people with that. That's so hot. Yeah, uh, I just think what I went through this year was like
Starting point is 00:25:53 I thought I looked at it as such a negative part of my life But now like I look at it as such as such a positive Because I went through that and I got through that so I want to take that energy into 2019 and just be like, I know how to deal with this and I want to help I want to help people with that shit Because I think that listen, I'm not, you know, I'm not Oprah Winfrey but like
Starting point is 00:26:16 I would like to hear people's stories and I would like to help them through their situations because I think it's As weird as it is people look at people like us as as we're normal guys That have have same problems as other people, you know So it's like it'd be something that I would like to definitely Take on and take on a role and do that. So it's a lot of resolutions Yeah, but I don't look at I don't really look at that one as a resolution I look at that as more of just the way I live my life and just
Starting point is 00:26:46 Being open about myself like that. All those are just yeah life. Well, that's what resolutions are Yeah, they're life changes and and I don't think any of them are astronomically difficult Yeah, a lot of it just depends on the drive that I have with them myself I would have to believe in myself to do these things right and Going through what I went through shows me that I could do that. You know Don't cry pussy Don't cry. Yeah, I saw I thought you were getting a little teary-eyed right there. What the fuck would I cry? You're waking up. God bless. You never cry. I cry all the time. Yeah, right. I'm not all the time
Starting point is 00:27:22 Oh, sir. I'm not afraid to cry. So All right, you're right wake up wake wake up cultured gym. Yep. Um, oh my god Help people with their mental health for I could do those Good and that I'm gonna leave it at that anything other than that. I might get some anxiety, right? Yeah And and be a little smarter with my money. Yeah. Yeah, that's five all very doable all very doable Most would say yes. Yes. All right. So what do you what do you got for me? What are my resolutions? Yeah, um I don't know
Starting point is 00:28:08 Way to come prepare for the show joe. I mean, you know what it is It's just I I feel like I'm in a really good place right now. So I feel like To just keep it up would be my sort of resolution because I always do fall out of A good rhythm that I have okay, and I never like keep it truly consistent But I feel like because I just went through a like a Bad thing as well. Right like, you know with the move and everything And we talked about that how I was like whatever it was just a lot of shit. Yeah
Starting point is 00:28:42 So I had to fucking pull myself out of this Shitty place. Yeah, and kind of fix everything. So right now. I'm just like all right. I'm good Like I did a lot of resolutions like a couple months early So I guess it's just like kind of keeping it up. But one thing I will say is that I want 2019 to be the best year possible as far as like
Starting point is 00:29:07 Business wise and just like happiness wise. I would love for that to happen. I don't know everyone's has that going Trying to get that money. Yeah trying to get that month. Yeah feel you on that. Let me just get a piece We're gonna piece. Oh my gosh a little bigger piece. You want a bigger piece a little bigger piece Ungrateful pieces of shit. I will shake that ass. I'll get out there. I'll do what I gotta do Crack some heads wake up at six o'clock shake my ass. Yeah, we'll see that we'll see that when that happens What'd I just say? I don't know Do you ever wake up at five o'clock and just be like, I know Danny's sleeping No, I never think about that. No, no, you're just like this fucking kid. Where is he?
Starting point is 00:29:43 Dude, I'm I've been so like happy lately with what I've been doing because it's like night and day Compared to what the fuck I was doing. I mean, I could see it in your everyday energy. Like I know when you're like man Yeah And and you're you're glowing you're glowing sweetheart. Am I glowing sweetheart? You're glowing. You're glowing. I appreciate that No, yeah, I think that everyone has the same sort of things where it's like, oh, I'm gonna get into shape I'm gonna do this. I'm gonna eat healthier. I didn't say I was gonna get into shape Let's make that I'm gonna go to the gym
Starting point is 00:30:15 But I don't know yeah, I'm just saying I'm going to start exercising because I feel like if you set these goals Of like I want to look like the fucking like mark wallberg and the Calvin Klein ad. No, it's little it's consistency though, dude I just want to make sure that I'm not gonna have a heart attack when I'm 42 years old No, I think you should set you should you have a standard that this is how I usually do things Right. I'll and I'm not saying you have to do it my way, but this is your house. I usually do it I want to be here. Mm-hmm. So where's here though? What is that? Well, I'll go I'll go vertical. I was like, okay. I was like, this is like over here. I have a thing up
Starting point is 00:30:56 It would be the better place to go if I if I want to be here. Okay, right? I'm comfortable sitting here I will train for here. Okay And that's not to say just so like, you know, you're physical fitness. I'm just saying anything. Yeah, if I want this I'll shoot here. Yeah, because then like If you land somewhere in between that you got more than you than you wanted um So, yeah, I just think that You know as far as New Year's resolutions, I know they're all like
Starting point is 00:31:21 For the most part they have that stigma of being bullshit You know, everyone's like, yeah, I'm gonna do this do that and then like January 1st There's a thousand people in the gym, which is terrible all the time Yeah, never go to the gym on January 1st or just like January 2nd 3rd 4th just, you know, obviously I'm gonna be there, but You know, there's definitely more people Yeah, and then you're like, all right. I'll never see this person again by February. They're all out of there Not even like it's literally like a week. Yeah
Starting point is 00:31:47 Yeah, and I always say that too. That's another thing. So like back going to the uncomfortableness thing That I was saying If you do something that makes you super uncomfortable Uh, for a week. Yeah Then I feel like it becomes habitual at that point at least for in my experience Maybe it'll take a little longer for people and by the way when I say uncomfortable. I don't mean like You know what I mean
Starting point is 00:32:11 I'm saying like you don't want to like go to like a room full of like a bunch of like little people having sex Like that uncomfortable. Oh, so we just got a glimpse into your fucking What I'm just saying that I would be uncomfortable If I walk into a room and saw a bunch of little people having sex That's an uncomfortable situation. I mean, it's a it's a I would say it's a rare situation It's a rare situation, but it'd be uncomfortable But you're talking more along the lines like skydiving. No, I'm talking about like Things you don't prefer to do
Starting point is 00:32:43 Like if you're a person like a couch potato Yeah, like I like your friend has a party Well, it's just things that you that you want to do but you don't know how to do it or you're like Whatever like if you're a person who's like you're a couch potato You're usually home, but you like going out sometimes But you just don't have that urge because there's a lot of times where even me like back when I was at my old apartment I'd be home and people were like, yeah, let's go out and it's like I'm the kind of type of dude that I love going out I love being there and I'm like the life of the party and like let's do a boba
Starting point is 00:33:16 But I won't because I just like can't get myself to come up off the couch for some reason And it's just like on those those times you just have to be like Dude just fucking do it and just make yourself uncomfortable quote-unquote and just fucking do it But I but it's something like the gym also like if you you have to go every single day You can take one day off, but you literally cannot take two days off a week Like you can't like you have to go every single day for at least a month And then maybe you can flirt with taking two days off But I suggest for me it's a week for for these things where it's like every single day
Starting point is 00:33:52 You do this And then once the next monday comes It's already kind of programmed into your body where it's like I gotta do this now I think a regimen is important for everyone's life Yeah, I think it's one of the most beneficial things that a person can have is a is a regimen of lifestyle Yeah, I mean I'm not saying it's gotta be a marine and and fucking fall out of bed and do fucking 50 push-ups Yeah, six o'clock in the morning. It's hard for me to wake up though It's hard for me to tell me at this point. Yeah, well at the like today
Starting point is 00:34:25 I didn't make it like today. I didn't make it to the gym. You know what it is. I think my alarm is too late like it's at 445 the gym is right here, but like My my alarm is at 445, but I'm I probably should push it back to like 420 You're you're getting ridiculous now. Why you're because you're a ridiculous human being 420 in the morning Can't even say anything It's pitch black out. Yeah, but I go to bed relatively early like I'm usually like dead asleep before 1am That's three hours of sleep You maniac. Yeah, well, I'm gonna find you fucking naked in here like walking around like delirious one day
Starting point is 00:34:59 You gotta sleep more than three hours, dude. You're gonna die. I'm not just saying this to be cool But like I would say that cool. No, because I know how I know how like this could come off But I think that since my junior my junior year of high school until I was like 22 I would say most days I slept four hours That is incredibly unhealthy the fact that you were alive is astonishing No, there are there are some people like and I think this is something like because I remember
Starting point is 00:35:31 Most days not all days by the way, but I also would never see 10 o'clock Like I haven't seen 10 o'clock in a very very very very very long time. Yeah 10 o'clock is a good buddy of mine That's that's a that's a late That's crazy Dude people who could just sleep until one at 1 p.m. Like on a sunday. I'm just like dude. How like Well, how does your body not wake up? I've always tried to sleep late on Sundays because it's closer to football Like I want to be closer to kickoff, but never works. I'm always up at like 9 30 on a sunday
Starting point is 00:36:02 Uh, I don't know man. I the more the older I get the more I appreciate like every Like I'm morning. Yeah, you know, I'm not even a morning person like I don't wake up and I'm like Fucking make a cup of coffee and Make breakfast or whatever like I'm not a morning person But I just like being up and being like all right. I can do things now It's you have control of the day from that from that standpoint. Yeah, and then also you get it better early Yeah, it's fucking great the other day. I went to bed like 10 30. Yeah That's the that's not even really early
Starting point is 00:36:33 No, I mean it's earlier than it's early for us. It's early for like like yo, what's really gonna happen from 10 30 on The fuck am I gonna miss you'll watch a west coast basketball game in fall sleep? That's what I'm saying You know, but like I saw like a lot of people's too like their their New Year's resolutions are like to be on social media more less less less excuse me but it's like I can't see that as a realistic resolution for me All right before we move on let's get to the first sponsor of the year Which is harry's razors. Listen if you don't have a new year's resolution. Here's one save a hundred dollars on shaving if you're a regular
Starting point is 00:37:07 Shaver, okay, because that's what harry's is going to do. All right. If you're shaving that face. I want you to put harry's on it. All right We you see my face you see this you see how I line this beard up That's all thanks to harry's you think professionals are doing this. No, it's just me in my bathroom with my harry's razor Getting it on one on one. Okay And you're gonna be able to do it also at the end of this when I give you a little code or whatever the hell i'm about to do here Um, but you guys could try out harry's also just go to harry's.com slash basement guys. I get a package from them It's in a nice little box. Okay. Everything looks extremely professional. Nice little weighted handle All right. I don't know what they make these things out of but they're they're just they're just a good weight
Starting point is 00:37:50 You know, I feel like i'm holding like a sword and i'm about to go to battle with my dumb face All right That was terrible. I don't know what i'm talking about. But anyway harry's razors right now. Um I love harry's razors. I've been using them for so long. Uh, you guys have heard him on the show before. They're just great They're a great, you know, whatever especially in the beginning of the year You guys want to I know people are trying new things They're going to the gym and then they're staying home for a week or whatever harry's razors sign up stay for life Telling you right now it's worth it and their replacement cartridges are only two dollars
Starting point is 00:38:18 For god's sakes. Where are you going to find that kind of deal? Um, and right now you can get a 13 dollar value trial set that comes with everything you need for a close comfortable shave Including a weighted handle five blade razor with a lubricating strip and trimmer blade rich a lathering shave gel and a travel blade cover If you're taking it on the go, all right, and uh, you can redeem your trial set at harry's.com Slash basement and uh, yeah, just make sure you go to harry's.com slash basements or redeem your offer and uh, let them know that I sent you just Um, that I sent you You know support the show You go there. You get some nice razors. You get a nice, uh trial set also helps me in the long run. All right
Starting point is 00:38:58 Help me help you. I'm trying to make you look better. Okay? Uh, yeah, but yeah, if you're going to shave your face this year do with harry's. Otherwise You're dead to me. All right. That's what I'm trying to say Uh, but anyway, I think being less Um Because I also went through that and a lot of people were giving me shit to like oh where's your flip phone like blah blah blah That was like an experiment that like I didn't need experiment. Yeah, that was I think you got to go like a week to make an experiment. That was a hypothesis. No, I definitely had it for a week
Starting point is 00:39:31 Easily No way. Yeah, really? Yeah How how long would you say you had it? I would say Two and a half weeks almost three weeks that I was like Actually, I still have it but like that I was actually like doing what I said I was gonna do So why'd you why'd you come back? Because I didn't think it was necessary because I it felt like it wasn't If it felt extreme you were going way too far out of your way to go
Starting point is 00:39:58 Well, like I said, I I want here so I shoot here So I went straight to the top where I'm like, I'm gonna get a phone that it doesn't do anything and I'll just take it out But also just with the way the world works. It's like, all right. It's like really hard to get an Uber Yeah And like a taxi Why don't you just get a business phone like a blackberry or something something that you know You're not going to use for anything other than business I then have like your personal phone that you don't use that much because it's not about that. It's about like the
Starting point is 00:40:24 Apps and you need the hustle and bustle. You need it You need your smartphone You do nowadays you just do and and especially us Well, I don't need it like I work during the day and I do what I have to do But after that's over everything else is extra like I don't necessarily like need it. No, no, no But after everything is posted, let's say everything gets gets put out. We're pretty pretty scheduled Scheduled now
Starting point is 00:40:54 uh with this channel santa gata studios channel You know and uh baseman yard Instagram and stuff like that. I'm plugging everything patreon, but like Those are things we need that we need to be on our phones Well, I don't think we need To Do that, but I do I do think that like we do baby. No, no, no, we do at the time But like I'm saying after hours
Starting point is 00:41:22 Like let's just say what would you say our after hours would be it definitely not nine to five Because we got to worry about the west coast No, I don't worry about anything dude everything gets posted I I'm Especially as of late. I've been working like a lot like I'm like, you know, it's 11 30 and I'm doing shit Yeah, like I can't answer your phone call because I'm doing something or I'm trying to or I'm trying to you never you never answer My phone calls. Anyway, but it's fine. You know, I mean you FaceTime me like for no fucking reason You're because I'm your friend and I care about you. No, you're waiting for an ear. I say love you're waiting for
Starting point is 00:41:55 You're waiting for an uber and you FaceTime me For no fun because you're like, uh, yeah, um Listen, uh, yeah, so I'm uh, I'll be there tomorrow and I'm like, yeah, dude. I know like you have to how dare you You do that because I care about you. It's not because you can because you don't want to be alone for a second I don't like being alone stand on the street. We have your fucking car I don't like being alone fucking weird. Oh shoot me shoot me for not wanting to be alone and confiding in my friend With my fears your fears. Yeah. Oh my god I can't tell one of my biggest pet peeps and you know this. It's just
Starting point is 00:42:32 For no reason phone calls are FaceTimes So you think they're nonsense That's that is such a selfish outlook Dude, you ever think that maybe I might need you you don't You love to tell me my feelings if you If you called me and you had something to say that is one thing Okay, but if you call me and then we're trying to force a conversation. What are we doing? Hang up the phone. I know I would usually do we usually hang up the phone
Starting point is 00:43:08 But you called me right For what? All right, so new year's resolution number six call joe s. Yes I won't call you at all. I'd be great Really? No, I wouldn't. No, don't don't don't feel like that. Don't feel like that. I'm just joking. No, no, no It's all right. I get it. You don't like when I call you. It's fine. I can't The the the no for no reason FaceTimes Sometimes I'll get a FaceTime from someone and they'll ask me one question I'll give like a two-word answer and then that'll be it. I'm like, why the fuck did that happen?
Starting point is 00:43:37 Yeah, that is a text. So I would say Understandable FaceTimes are like if I needed help on final cut Yeah, or like a drawn out conversation that would take way less time on FaceTime than it would through text But if you have one question that I can answer through text like if you're gonna ask me a yes and no question Why are we talking on the like just text it? Right? But here's another thing though. Here's another argument. Okay We went to we went to uh, your buddy's christmas party If I didn't FaceTime you I would have never went to that party Yeah, I'm not arguing that
Starting point is 00:44:11 But that was a good FaceTime that was a good FaceTime. All right, so I have some good FaceTimes Sprinkled in there. Yeah, of course. All right. I'm talking about they're not all bad. No, but I get what you're saying I know there's time. I'll FaceTime you later. You FaceTime me while you're waiting for an uber and I don't know it yet And you're just like what's up? And I'm like, yeah, what's up, man? What's going on? And you're like, yeah, so uh We're doing that thing tomorrow, right? And I'm like Yeah, like we talked about it like three days prior like every single day. I'm like, yeah And you're like, all right, cool. Yeah, I'm gonna I'm gonna be there and I'm like, yeah, yeah I would expect you to be here. Yeah, you're being paid, sir. Yeah, and then I'm just like
Starting point is 00:44:48 You waiting for an uber? You're like, yeah, I'm like, all right. Why are we talking, dude? Like, why are we doing it? All right, all right Here's resolution six. I got it. I got it. I can take I can take it. Damien. He got six already Yeah, you still got some time. You're gonna add some more to that. You might get up to double digits I might get up to double digits more denim more denim. You don't you don't wear any denim This is Calvin Klein, I don't have any denim jackets. No, I like I haven't figured out I haven't figured out, you know, you know what it is. I need to lose a little bit of weight. No, you don't no No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no. Listen, I'm really not fishing for compliments in my stomach area
Starting point is 00:45:21 No, but what I'm saying is this. Yeah, I've seen that a little bit Listen, listen, listen I've seen that a little bit you want to know why where I see it Sometimes when you put your hands over your head And a little bit of it comes out a little bit of gut a little a little bit of gut Yeah, and there's nothing wrong with that. It's the beer. You're not a fat person No, no, no, I don't think you're not a fat person. No, I'm not so I don't want you to take that No, I don't make it for me. You're not a fat person. I don't think I'm a fat person
Starting point is 00:45:48 We're not claiming you but what I'm saying is this is If you gave up beer for like three months Oh, that's not happening. You'd be flat as a board Probably and probably some abs going there. Yeah, I just don't care that much about that Like I'm like, how do you feel about your titties? My titties. Yeah, do you think you have titties? No, I don't think you have titties. No No, you're good. Don't harden. Don't harden up. Don't harden up. Sit soft, baby
Starting point is 00:46:17 Oh, I could sit soft. But yeah, but then there's muscle in there. It's gonna move. Yeah, it's gonna move but like Popping a little bit. Come on, man. Yeah, there you go. I wouldn't say you have titties I would say you got you got a little belly coming in No, it's not coming in. It's been it's been parked You think it's there? Yeah, it's on its way out is what I'm trying to say. It's like it's it's not like it's not coming in like I you know, you need to get it together. Was your belly bigger at any point?
Starting point is 00:46:43 Yeah, really? Yo, I weighed 190 something one at one point. Well, yeah, yeah, and then I got down to like 175 Okay, and now right now I'm like I think I'm like 180 anybody that loses weight during this time of the year suck my asshole Yeah, because you're a piece of shit. Yep. Okay. I will tell you this I was 225 I'm 232 right now all because of the holidays all because of holidays Okay, my goal was to be 205 on my birthday If I don't get there, I don't get there. But what I'm saying is this Yeah, if you are losing weight during this time of year piece of shit you are piece of shit
Starting point is 00:47:21 I hate you and if you comment on this video, I will find you I won't hurt you. He's gonna kill you, but I'm gonna call you a piece of shit. Yeah, all right From a ghost account. So if somebody calls you a piece of shit from a ghost account Look at it Yeah, I got a little hot there. Yeah, you're right. I don't know you're so self-conscious about that bells bells I'm not self-conscious I think it's cute. No, actually, I think I am self-conscious about it Really? I'm a little insecure about it. Go in go in go in depth. You want you want to hear me in security?
Starting point is 00:47:50 I have I've always had body image issues. I don't have really body image issues I but now that like I'm fresh and like I lost a little bit of weight like I'm an attractive husky man I just I just know I am I just know I am And and and it's like listen listen. Am I gonna win fucking uh, you know Fucking miss universe. Yeah, am I gonna be walking down Dior? Uh, you know, absolutely not but
Starting point is 00:48:19 What's her name? I'll be Graham Ashley Graham Ashley Graham. I'll be Graham is drake fire. Yeah hot. She's hot thickums Hell yeah, I could be hot and thickums Not like her. No, no, no not in my eyes, but there's there's room for a plus size hot male model in the industry Let me rocks on wait. Are you trying to be a model? No All right good because I you know, I don't want to be the one to tell you that's not gonna happen No, no, no, but what I'm saying is is like you could be a little chunky and be hot Yeah, of course, you know what I'm saying. Yeah, so like I wouldn't go like
Starting point is 00:48:55 I wouldn't be down in the dumps about having a little belly right now No, I'm not but you said you're you said you're insecure. No, I'm insecure about two things three things one What I'm insecure about one two three days. No, I'm insecure about three things. All right, I don't know Uh I guess my stomach Okay, which I'm not really insecure about it because I'm like, this isn't this isn't a problem for me It doesn't show at all. Well, that's because I I'm not a fat guy. Like I'm just like
Starting point is 00:49:25 An out of shape used to be muscular guy. Yeah. Yeah, which is great Yeah, but like I can get there like I'm not worried about that, right? But the other things that I can't control are what I'm insecure about Lay him on me. Can we say I'm on here? Of course. All right. I thought you because the way you said it to me It's like I'll tell you my teeth. Okay. My teeth are not great. My teeth aren't great either. They're not like awful No, but they're like this is great. Look That's fine. I got some chipped up teeth But if I opened my mouth and you got a good look you'd be like there's stuff going on in here
Starting point is 00:49:55 Yeah, but you know, that would be an easy dental cleaning that would clean you up. No, no, no, it would not No, this would need to be like all right. I would need braces. There's nothing wrong with that Yeah, but I don't want it. It's like a long process a process you get the invisible line Bill Burr has them. I'm just saying you know what I'm saying. So my teeth is one And my hairline's another Don't start with that. It's a little high. Take the hat off. It's a little high. Take the hat off right now I'm gonna show you It's a little high
Starting point is 00:50:27 Yeah, it's getting up there I've never seen you push your hair back. That's why well you push your hair back your hairline goes back But my forehead's pretty big my forehead is what I'm talking about Not really my hairline because my hairline hasn't receded at all my my hair my slow down slow down What? You don't you get going a little crazy. So you got a big forehead of a hairline. No, no, no piece at a time here Oh, you got a package here No, so it's my forehead is what I'm talking about magic word
Starting point is 00:50:58 No, just every time I hear that during the show. I think it's like a magic word. So, uh My hairline Yeah, it's a little high Whatever My forehead's a little big. That's all I'm gonna say. I have a great hairline Yo, Frankie's got a hairline. Yeah. Yeah, but his hairline is like it looks like somebody drew it. It's immaculate. Yeah Like if you want to get a shape up to be like, no, you're good, son Yeah, you're good. You're good, doc. It's insane. I'll do the back but the front is straight. Yeah, his hairline's ridiculous
Starting point is 00:51:33 But I'm not like super insecure about it. I the only thing I'm like super insecure about is my teeth If you shaved your head your head would look weird Like is that what you're saying bald? Yeah Like completely bald. Yeah, because you said your forehead Like if you if you did like a one like like like like a buzz cut like your beard Bro, that's not shaving your head. Same length of your beard clipped your head I used to have the haircut for very long How'd you feel about your head at that time? I didn't really care. Do you think you had more hair there?
Starting point is 00:52:03 Do you think you're losing your hair? No, I don't think I'm losing my hair You think it's just you you just turn my forehead's always been big But are you turning back the hands of time is what I'm saying? No, like is it is it going back? No, no, no All right, so what are you worried about? It's still big I got a big forehead. I've never looked at your forehead and thought it was big All right You know
Starting point is 00:52:26 You got a nice nose You do you do have a really nice nose Appreciate it, but you do have a really nice nose. I I honestly have a power nose. I have a real man's nose. I say I say insecure, but it's nothing that would make me like Uh, like I don't wear hats because I'm insecure about my hairline. You know what I'm saying I want to I want to buy it. I really want to buy that. Why don't you believe that it's because I feel like Me and you are very Uh conscious of our appearance
Starting point is 00:53:04 I'm not really that conscious though. I think you are I think you go out of your way to say that you're not conscious But you are why you fix your hair every time before we get in here Yeah, because I don't want to look at dickhead on camera. That's that doesn't mean I'm conscious about like my constant like Appearance like I don't like put on a cool outfit to go to the gym or like every time I go outside I gotta even look good like I don't give a fuck. So that's I think that's where me and you differ a little bit Well, that's this is what I'm saying. Yeah No, but like that's I don't think there's anything wrong with me wanting to do that though. So like because if I don't look good physically Like I'm a beefcake
Starting point is 00:53:43 You know, I want to I want to look I want to look good. Yeah, I want to look good Yeah, and even if I lose 20 pounds, I'll still be the same size and close. Yeah I want to be 205. Okay. So I'll still be the same size and close Yep I'll just be a little a little less bouncy in the belly and then and then be working with something else There you go. But my insecurities are like, here's another thing too Here's the here's another thing too. I'm a beefcake to all to all the men and the women out there Who got some weight on them or have lost weight? Don't ever be self-conscious about your stretch marks
Starting point is 00:54:20 I don't think people should be self-conscious about their stretch. I got some stretch marks I don't think anybody should because here's the thing Stretch marks tell stories Oh my god, did you read this? I'm like, no, no, no, no because listen when I see a stretch You were watching a lifetime yesterday every day. Yeah every day funny to you brought up lifetime I do love lifetime movies, but I think stretch marks are a show of Where you've been or where you're going and it's kind of like a tell-tale sign that you shouldn't be ashamed of
Starting point is 00:54:51 Because if you lose a bunch of weight and you get stretch marks, that's a good thing Don't you doesn't that mean you gained a bunch of weight? No, you can get stretch marks from rapidly losing weight as well Oh, you know what I mean? How the fuck do you rapidly lose weight? I just can't Yeah, yeah, yeah depression helps Yeah, that that helps that'll help. You see me in Italy. I was like fucking there I was like Barely eating. Yeah, I was gonna text you like after hours. That's how hot you were. Yeah I was like, well, well, well, I need to put more food in me. Yeah, I was very depleted. I was barely eating
Starting point is 00:55:23 Dangerously hot. They did. Yeah. I was pretty fucking hot over there. Yeah, but um Yeah, so that's another thing. I like body image stuff is something that I feel a lot of people men and women Obviously women but people don't understand how much men worry about their body image Yeah, it's not and it's sad that we can be fat and like Be hot Does that make sense? Is that offensive to who?
Starting point is 00:55:59 All right, if you said to who no to women to women that we could be fat and be hot Yeah, yeah, that's offensive. No, but but I mean it but I don't I know what you're trying to say. I don't necessarily agree though because it didn't it didn't come out right It didn't come out Me myself. I like a thicker. I feel like a thicker gal. Well, that's what I'm saying I feel like that is also the trend now too. Like the thicker you are like it's it's nice I just think like, you know, it's like Ariana grande for example
Starting point is 00:56:30 Don't do this. It's too too small. She's a very small girl. Very pretty very pretty very pretty very very nice I would say shockingly attractive in the face. Yeah, she's very cute. She's cute. She's cute. She's cute, but I need a little something A little something grab onto here. You know what I mean But I just feel like men like body image wise like we do have a lot of insecurities But it's easier for us to mask them because I think publicly they're accepted a little more Which sucks Um, that's the message I'm trying to get across. Yes, of course, you know, yeah
Starting point is 00:57:10 That's true. I think that that women are held to a higher standard, but that's our fault Because we hold them to that. Everything's our fault. Yeah All right, listen, we don't white males. We know The role we have in society. Yeah, we are assholes And we accept that it's just that we have to state the obvious sometimes. Yeah, this is this how the world works sadly sadly you know That's the thing that that's the thing that worries about me like, uh, uh
Starting point is 00:57:42 It's just like with social media and like all the shit that's coming out and it's like Everything in your face is glamorized Everything in your face is glamorized. Yeah It's so easy to feel inadequate now Oh, it's yeah and dude to the point where I mean, some people would Say that you know
Starting point is 00:58:08 I'm a successful person. Yeah, I would say I as somebody that knows you like personal I would say you're a successful person and that I'm An attractive person. Yes Thank you and uh And and like whatever and I have no reason to be insecure or whatever I had to unfollow everyone from instagram because it was getting me getting to me so much Like it was bothering me so much and it was making me so insecure that I had to unfollow everyone for a little bit You don't follow me too. I made you insecure. No, I just had to get everyone out. God damn it. I thought I was cool
Starting point is 00:58:41 No, I'm not jealous of you fucking I was gonna say something there. Yeah, you are yeah, I was gonna try and say something funny, but I didn't have anything so I just Still fat. Yeah, you know No, but like do you think that that that time I'm away from seeing people on your channel And not on your channel, but on your feed like you think that Turned you off to social media or made you kind of want to come back with a different view on social media I think it definitely helped me
Starting point is 00:59:17 Because I was at a place where like I said and the reason why I even brought that shit up and saying that some people would say I'm successful some people would say I'm attractive because like those two attributes people would be like if you're those two things You're fine. You don't have to be insecure about anything. You're you know, you know, there's nothing to worry about Yeah, but even for me like looking at people that aren't as uh You know Successful or just it's literally could be anybody not as hot
Starting point is 00:59:44 You could say it that's not what I'm talking about. It's all right. We got because that has nothing to do with it I'm just saying like that part of it. It was like, oh, you don't you're not you're a good-looking person You don't have to be insecure. Right, you know, so like that's dumb obviously, but like I'm saying Uh on instagram, I'm I'm just scrolling through and looking at the best parts of people's lives And then it's subconsciously making me feel bad about my own because I work a lot I live in new york city like there's you know, it's not glamorous. It's you know, it's whatever I don't really like going to clubs. You know, there's none of that So but like when you're seeing these people like they're out in l.a. They're hanging out with all these celebrities
Starting point is 01:00:25 They're with all these girls and like they are fucking shredded and they're at a pool party Like every other day or they're going to Vegas. They're on a private jet like all this stuff and you're like It you just scroll past it. So you don't really like pay it any mind But subconsciously it gets you like Why can't I have that and it's like and then I'm like I don't even want that. No, you know and and but but it makes me feel bad Yeah, so it was a weird time for me and this is what I was talking about earlier I don't know if I ever explained this on the show, but like, uh, that was what I was talking about earlier
Starting point is 01:01:00 Where I'm like, I I went through this phase where I just was like upset with myself and felt like I was inadequate and It just made me into a less productive person because I was just like Sad but like I wasn't sad. What's the what? What's the use? Or like I did enough right and like this is my ceiling and it's like this is not my fucking ceiling You know what I mean? Like I want to be bigger than what I'm doing and I want to be more successful
Starting point is 01:01:27 And I want to build stuff and blah blah blah so but The the instagram thing I felt was so damaging and that's why it was like the whole like Y'all I'm one following everyone and I'm getting a flip phone because I want to be disconnected for a bit to kind of sort out my shit Yes start here get there. You know, uh, but I I feel like now literally last night
Starting point is 01:01:52 Was the night where I started following Accounts. Oh, I know Yeah, because I followed you back. Hell. Yeah. Yeah, but I that was the first night that I started following people back So that's been how long how was I not following anybody a while a while it was a while It was a good amount of time for me to just be away from it and realize like Realize what the problem was so that now if it starts to happen again I can kind of recognize it and I don't have to do anything drastic to like yeah Fix the situation
Starting point is 01:02:18 But I I just feel like it can be super damaging and it's and it's worry some kind of about because I'm 26 and I consider myself like You know very mature for my age and I'm a forward thinker whatever. Yes Kids who are younger who are like 17? That are on instagram looking at this shit. I can't even imagine how damaging that is. Oh my god They're like, yo, I have to you know what I have to do Boom gang steal shit from pop eyes and bounce in order to get views and likes so I can feel like Like satisfied and like secure with myself. I have to rock like Balmont to fucking my home room
Starting point is 01:02:55 And it's like oh, I gotta you I gotta wait in line to cop supreme so that I feel fresh at school Right and spend drop 400 a $700 because so and so Is flexing hard. Mm-hmm. Yeah That's the that's like That's that's damaging. That's culture damaging Well, the same thing happened to me as a person who I like And it was almost shocking to me because you know, I'm the type of person who is very like I consider myself very balanced and very sure of themselves and secure and like whatever blah blah blah
Starting point is 01:03:26 And I didn't even know it was happening to me right until I was forced to kind of like be like, yo, what the fuck has been going on Yeah And then you take time away from everything to kind of like Go through shit and figure it out and you're like, yo, I've been fucking stupid for the past two years The realization sneaks up creeps up on you fast. Yeah, but time flies You don't realize how long you're in that kind of like uh I don't want to say stationary position, but like almost in a way you are
Starting point is 01:03:59 um but for you I think Your mind was always proactive though, even during that stage What do you mean? Like I think that you were still thinking of how like to do things better Like, you know, like you were still mapping things out But I wasn't acting on anything, but you spent a little more time in the couch. Yeah, you know
Starting point is 01:04:20 I wasn't acting on anything. I didn't fully shut down But in terms of where your work ethic can go for you, it was like a complete shutdown Yeah, for me it really felt like I didn't do anything and it and it was it set higher me though That's the that was cool. That was cool. It was it was it was It was even more discouraging to hear from other people because on the outside looking in it looks like i'm doing a lot And it looks like You know Dude like you're getting this many views and you have this many followers and you're making good money and you're doing whatever
Starting point is 01:04:54 But you still feel like i'm not doing anything close to enough and i'm not Working hard at all and these and i'm fooling all these fucking people And like that even made it feel even worse Like it made you feel worse as a person when people would be like would compliment me And when they would be like, yo, you're doing great And and like, you know, you're working hard and you're getting all these videos out and you're doing this and doing that It would make me feel even worse because i know i'm not like living up to what my true potential is It would just make me feel like shit because i'm like, yo, i'm fooling these people
Starting point is 01:05:29 Right like i'm one of the i'm what i hate now Like i i've become what i hate where i'm one of these people that are like I just look at the part now, right? I could relate. I could relate. I know you're talking about like i hated like Just looking the part like i i never want to be that like i never want to be a person that you see online and you're like Oh, he's got follow. He made these videos once a week and now he's got followers and like he's like like bro so much shit went into this and like I pride myself on being able to say that that i like especially now like i work mad hard And like i really try to get after it and and it's not just social media
Starting point is 01:06:08 Like there's a whole business aspect to this that i worked really hard to be knowledgeable about and there's just a lot of back end shit that like Now i feel good because i can I agree with someone who's like, you know, you're doing your thing and like i just like i know it now You know like somebody says that too you you actually believe it Yeah, but but back then when people would be like yo man like whatever blah blah blah all this shit and it's just like yo man like I'm not like i'm not that dude like you know what i mean and it just felt it just made you feel like shit
Starting point is 01:06:42 Well, i mean that's like a phony like you feel like i just look like i'm cool right And you know i'm saying like i'm tricking people like i hated that It's it's i know you're saying like tricking people or whatever, but it's like I think what you went through if you didn't go through if you didn't go through that i think my opinion is You wouldn't have Got back in a swing of things Uh, maybe because it it was the only other time in my life that i was like Where i didn't i don't want to say i didn't love myself because that is so fucking dramatic, but like
Starting point is 01:07:21 If that's how you felt i didn't feel like that though, but it was just like you you felt like uh Like bro, you're not doing your job like you're not you're not who you are right like you know what i'm saying Like there was only other one time in my life It was like when i first dropped out of college that i was like, yeah, what are you doing? Yeah, you know like but That was the only other time but for the most part i'm very sure of myself I'm very like you could do whatever the fuck you want and like just you know, you'll be fine and you know, whatever But so that's the energy we're carrying in the 2019. Yeah, I have I have all of my confidence back. I have all of my like
Starting point is 01:07:57 Work ethic back and i'm really that's literally all I care about and it's all I think about 24 seven now Which is which is great because oh, it's great. That's that's what I always Was like when I first started doing everything like that's why i'm saying like I slept four hours a day because I would stay up until Like 3 a.m. Or 2 a.m. When I lived at home and learned how to do photoshop because i'm like this is gonna come in handy One day and like I wasn't even doing anything with it Right, but I was just like fucking around with it and I told myself how to edit
Starting point is 01:08:28 I told myself new programs and I would stay up and try to make these videos and blah blah blah I'm just like really trying to learn everything. Well, it's a lot of a lot of people see the pop-off But they don't see the fucking shit that went into the pop off Well, because a lot of time there isn't a lot of shit that goes into it like with me like this isn't like and This is me just like talking my shit and like I hate doing that But like I love it for some people for some people and there's no like shame in that that you just Like you hear about these rappers like you know, I just started rapping last year Yeah, and like they're rich as shit now and like they just popped off and there's nothing wrong with that
Starting point is 01:09:03 Because if you're good, you're good like whatever if you're successful It's it's for a reason right but some people get lucky and it happens like this And there wasn't a whole lot of learning process and there wasn't a whole lot around behind it For me, this is like I have worked so hard at everything And I was so bad at everything that I do good now right that it had to like happen gradually Like there was a lot of work put into a lot of people give up too Well, that's the thing too like a lot of people give up on it and that's because if it doesn't happen instantly There's no instant gratification. It's discouraging
Starting point is 01:09:37 For me it was never even a I didn't even know any of this was possible Like truly because no one can say that now because you can see it There's thousands of people that are social media Whatever and they have millions of followers and make all this money from doing it It wasn't even a thing back then I didn't have instagram didn't have snapchat didn't have vine None of these things existed there was twitter and that was all and youtube was there But no one was like do like had a job Making youtube videos. There was no company set up
Starting point is 01:10:05 Like all these like uh big companies that represent all these youtubers that were set up at all There was none of that so it wasn't even possible. I started doing it because I liked it And like thank god like you know what I'm saying like thank god, but like None of that was even possible but deep down though You wouldn't have done those things if you didn't have an inkling of like This is what I want to do I honestly had no idea what I was doing. I I I was doing it I always did it, bro
Starting point is 01:10:34 When I was younger me and frankie had a camera that we would film shit when I was like 10 years old My mom got me and it was like a cassette tapes and we would record on it And like you couldn't edit obviously you had to rewind and record over it And we make these like sketches and shit. So I always liked doing it But I had no idea that you could even like I didn't know That youtube channels are I don't even I still don't even know how the accounts work. I just upload. I walk away. Yeah, you know I'm saying but I could sit there and read the analytics all day. I don't really know what I'm I don't know I have no idea. I just literally I make them and I hope to god that I get enough money to live
Starting point is 01:11:09 I'm saying every month, but uh Yeah, man. I think that I don't know. Like I said, I am in a headspace now where I feel like I'm really focused on Working really hard like one of my biggest things when I first When I was growing up, I never knew what I wanted to do I was always like a good student and people had a lot of high expectations for me because I was a great athlete when I was younger and I was really I was really smart when I was younger
Starting point is 01:11:36 Like I had really good grades So people had high expectations for me and then there became a time where all that went away And I was like I was just ahead of my time when I was super young. Yeah, and prodigy lifestyle Like I wasn't a prodigy. I was a prodigy. Well, I was I was a sports prodigy I was I was better than everybody else And I had good grades and then everyone grew Yeah, I was like five eight when I was in like eighth grade I was always small, but I was good. Yeah, and it was like, you know
Starting point is 01:12:08 It was like shocking to people because I was smaller than people. Right. I was I I shot up Very late. Yeah, and like I'm five ten now. Like I'm not fucking right right six four You're like five three with like a fucking big-ass jersey on. Yeah, I was tiny in threes So like I was a really good athlete and I was really smart So I had high expectations and then like when that didn't pan out and I was like, oh, so you're not really like a tremendous athlete because when you get to middle school and high school From the expectations like yo, are you going to like be a starter like on the varsity team when you're a freshman? People can know or like are you going to be really have really good grades and then go to Ivy League schools or like whatever
Starting point is 01:12:47 And none of that ever panned out for me. So it's kind of like More of a so what are you going to do kind of thing? Yeah, so all I wanted to do was be impressive to people and I didn't know how to do that and I started making these videos doing whatever and That's all I cared about was being impressive for a while Like trying to make videos that my friends don't were funny and that yeah It was like, oh, shit. This is cool. Like whatever blah blah But even then at that point it was like, yo, this is cool. But like what the fuck is this? Yeah, but at a part of a part of At at a certain point you probably you have to start to try and impress yourself though
Starting point is 01:13:24 Uh, ew No, I think so I think that I think a part of you wants to and by impress yourself It's like you want to be able to do better than the last thing you produced Um, because at at some point it became I have to be funnier or this has to be better. I can't do this the same way I I never really have that mindset to be honest with you at all. No, I You know what it is? I feel like if I care about it enough that'll just happen naturally. So I don't try to like
Starting point is 01:13:57 Put too much pressure on yourself. Well, it's not about putting pressure on myself. It's just not about me Right. It's not about like it's about like do just care Right. If you care, you're gonna get better at it. Yeah, I'm not in competition with myself as much as I am like As much as I care about being just good Yeah, if that makes any sense. No, no, no, that makes sense. I hear what you're saying I don't go out of my way to be like, you know, this needs to be funnier, but I do go out of my way to be like You're not doing enough like do more and study more and do blah blah blah, right? You know what I mean? It's it's the pre-work. It's more of what you stress than the actual like shit that comes out
Starting point is 01:14:31 Yeah, I mean going back to what I was saying. I think that going into 2019 like I finally for the I would say for the first time in about three years. I feel like this is the first time that I feel like I'm trying to Be impressive again Like I'm trying to be Undeniably great. That's fire and trying to be undeniably like Like you you have to recognize me as as a person who Is like, you know, this dude's doing his thing, right, you know
Starting point is 01:15:02 Like I want that so bad and I haven't been that and like just because I have a platform doesn't mean that I am that Because like I said, I was still had that and people were like, you know, you're doing your thing and I was like, don't Fucking tell me that because I'm not, you know, you smile and nodding but inside you're just like It's like I could be doing so much more man Like I really feel like now I am working to my true potential and like hopefully that comes to fruition and we'll see what happens But fire yeah, we'll see good for you This was like a therapy session. No, I think it was I think it was good because here's here. Here's why like on this show
Starting point is 01:15:33 Listen, I love talking about dicks I love talking about the butt cheeks and and butt holes and but every once in a while I think we've got to Buckle it down and and talk about some somehow we're feeling real issues real issues real issues And I think around this time is where a lot of self-reflection happens at this time of year and I posted something on my instagram the other day like The holidays could be a very stressful time for people
Starting point is 01:16:02 Like as much as it's like, oh man, like yes, it's fucking Christmas. Like it could be a very tough tough tough time for people So it's like I look at like The things that I have I used to be a very negative thinking person Like I used to think like Uh, you know, like I'm not gonna have enough money to do this or I'm not gonna have enough time to Do this I this didn't really happen the way I wanted it to happen. Oh man, like I should have done this differently or whatever I've
Starting point is 01:16:38 Retrained my brains in a way that I try to think so positively now because For me, I spent such a portion of my life thinking negatively Uh I I used to think nothing good was ever gonna happen to me Seriously, yeah, I mean and and still hasn't but no no like That's fake. That's that's that's Fictional because if I break down my life and what it is it's like I have a family I have people who love me care about me And I have my I have my health. I had to go get it, but I have my health, you know, but I'm saying but like
Starting point is 01:17:20 It's like it's one of those things where A positive mindset will change Everything else that you do So now if I can add some things to that positive mindset like I said my resolutions and stuff I think it could take me to the next level of my potential Of what I could do because I think if I if if I can What's the word? Uh Implant a couple things in though my brain to become
Starting point is 01:17:48 routine It along with a positive mindset There it'll click more because even when I would try to, um Implicate Yeah, try to implicate new things into implement implement. Excuse me. Sorry. I'm not that smart. I told you Yeah, you're working on it. Yeah, that wasn't a word of the day implement Implement new things. I would always find a reason not to do them Like even like when vine was big it was like, yo, like move out to la like you could do this
Starting point is 01:18:18 I always found like reasons like not to do things You know Now it's like I don't think like that anymore, right? I've gone fully in and that's a hard thing to do And you know, I think for a lot of people out there listening they struggle with their own stuff and that's why This this time of like self-reflection is good for us and I think this is why this is a good episode
Starting point is 01:18:44 Because I think a lot of people right now need some reassurance About where they're at in their life and and and it's good to self-reflect Yeah, you know, I think I think People should self-reflect a lot more You know I think a lot of times you put things off like you even said you went two years until you were like, oh shit Yeah, it was a while. It was a while. It was my whole lease in my old apartment. Yeah. Well, thankfully you got out of there I think the move has been very beneficial to you. Yeah. Now this feels like a home. I keep it clean
Starting point is 01:19:15 I try to like, you know at my old place. I yeah, nothing got done No Nothing got done here like obviously like it happens like your your clothes get everywhere and your stuff gets messy But I always clean like I always like like yesterday's place was fucked up Yeah, this place was a shithole and I mean my room was fucked up like this place was like, all right, but like I Your room smelled a little bit You know what? I think that was my body
Starting point is 01:19:42 You think you stunk that bad? Yeah, Jesus I think that was my body because I crossed you and I was like, what are we doing here? Yeah, what's going on? Yeah, that's all right. You went to the gym though. You stunk for a reason stunk for a reason stunk for a reason Now if you're stinky for no reason, we got problems. Yeah, we got problems. We got problems big time problems fix your balls Yeah, fix your balls. That's what I'm trying to say. We had to sneak in a cock joke into this episode. Yeah, that's true Cock balls. Um Dicks asshole butts the other thing I wanted to say just on like a less serious thing Is there anything that you want to get into hobbies wise?
Starting point is 01:20:12 possibly in the next new year uh I don't think so It like mine's not a hobby, but like I want to spend more time in my family See that was a big one for me Also, because when I was at that old apartment, I saw my family a lot less. Yeah, but Yeah, I think I want to spend a lot more time in my family and my friends Because I feel like I'm a homebody
Starting point is 01:20:38 You are a homebody, but I think I've I think I've made good strides in getting outside I think I have Okay Like I think I've moved in a positive direction. I don't think I don't think I've moved taking steps back Sex joke. Sorry. Um, I think that You could you could do a little more right You know, I'm not gonna complain right because you know, you came out a couple times can't come up a couple times A couple games went out last night
Starting point is 01:21:14 I don't really count like Mika hangouts Really? Yeah, no, this is hanging. We went out. We went out. We went to the comedy cellar. Yeah, but No, that was that's a legitimate hangout. Yeah Yeah, we went to the game I went and watched him play and then we went to the comedy cellar, but I also I wouldn't count like you remember we went to Travis Scott, right? I don't count that. I think that's Do you know for me to go into a huge fucking stadium and watch a fucking show?
Starting point is 01:21:43 I think that anything you have to buy tickets for doesn't count for what you're trying to accomplish. What about movies? Those are Movies, what about movies? What about movies? Like go if I wanted to go see movies That's going out. You don't have social anxiety Who do you who you talk to you don't have social anxiety? Oh Okay, you have social anxiety At times I do Danny. You're one of the most personable people I've ever met in my entire life I literally couldn't drag you away from the people that you were fucking seeing talking to the other day. Well
Starting point is 01:22:13 You're a chatter. I'm a chatter chatter box, but that's out of that's out of nervousness I I'm telling you I'm telling you you were nervous a little bit I get nervous I get nervous you're telling me. No, I don't think you have a problem going to anything I don't think I have a I wouldn't say I have huge social anxiety the reason why I don't count mica hangouts Is because usually we go to his game And we get tickets And we go and then we go out right that is a whole event I'm talking about just like
Starting point is 01:22:45 Let's just hang Let's leave my house to just go hang not not to do anything crazy Right to get out of my comfort zone. Okay and go and be someone else's comfort zone Or go do something else at a different place that we're a different time with different people at a different point in the earth, right? But I think A bit I I agree that that that I could definitely do more of that That's one one thing I want to do non-ticketed things non-ticketed things, but like it's like uh
Starting point is 01:23:18 When I'm here It's work Yes, so like even if we're hanging out here. Are those hangouts or is it just work hangouts? Um, again, this is something that you're sort of like Bound to that. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah Like if you have a ticket to something you are bound to going and if you're here you're bound to be here because you work Right, right. So it's well me going to the Christmas party was fun that was a completely
Starting point is 01:23:44 Unticketed unbound kind of thing that you showed up to it was great. Yeah, I mean from what I remember no has you know Talk about you say you don't get drunk Yo, this kid was drunk son My man was when I got here, which was nine. I wasn't drunk at that point. You were dancing I I was dancing that's a tell tale drunk joe sign I honestly once you start dancing and getting close Close dancing close dancing. Oh you danced real upon me. Nice. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah I was you were bowed in those words. You were real close to me eating penny alavaco your hands
Starting point is 01:24:24 Well, yeah, I was in a giant catering. Get a goddamn fork. I did get a plate After you were like, I'm eating penny alavaco. I'm sure I also fucking Crushed beer pong. Yeah, you did you did But you know, you know what it was I had a 10% beer to start the night Yeah, here we go. No, but seriously, that's the way to do it because the next day I woke up and and like Keith Keith texted me How are you not hung over? I don't get hung over. That's impossible I only get I hate you. I only get hung over if I throw up and I've only thrown up twice from drinking fire
Starting point is 01:24:57 What what did Keith actually he texted me like are you okay? Dude, you were banged up man. I was totally fine. Do you remember how I left? How you left? Yeah, what do you mean like how I said goodbye to everybody? You went like this, right? I did the like the ultimate war. Oh, yeah, you were like, sorry. See you later. Like like rest. I know you did like a group Goodbye thing. Yeah. Yeah, because there was like a bunch of people like yeah, I don't hate that I hate saying goodbye to people if I see people for the first night The way I'm gonna leave is a comedic way because it gives me a reason to not say goodbye to everybody
Starting point is 01:25:29 I don't I don't like Saying goodbye. I'll say hi to everyone. I'm not gonna say goodbye to all you Would you would you go out on a limb and say that you that you genuinely like most people? What like say you meet somebody for the first time. Yeah, what are the chances I like them? Yeah More or less you dislike Uh What are we counting as like like I want to hang out with them Like you'll you'll go out of your way to make them like more comfortable in a situation or like you'll go out of your way to like
Starting point is 01:26:08 Be cool Yeah, I mean Like wait, that's a different thing What are you asking me what i'm asking you is this it's like me myself Yeah, I genuinely tend to like most people. I try to see the best in people. Okay, but Do you like if you go to somewhere Are you gonna try and say hello to everybody or you don't give a fuck? If in that situation yesterday, there was a lot of people there that you didn't know
Starting point is 01:26:36 I wouldn't have said hi to everybody. I see I said hello to everyone because I feel like if I don't it makes me feel weird No, I'm not gonna say hi. I will naturally get into I'll try to naturally get into conversation with people Would I would be like, hey, how are you doing? My name is Danny. Well, I didn't do that Unless unless like there's a circle and I get invited into this circle, then I'll say hi to everyone What's up, man? I'm Joe like nice. Oh, yeah, like you know what I'm saying But I'm not gonna like just show up and be like, hey, how's everyone going? By the way, I'm Dan Uh And I'm Italian and Puerto Rican and I broke my anxious bubble to come here guys
Starting point is 01:27:11 I'm on a little bit of a colonna pin and a lot of lexa pro, but don't worry. It's prescribed It's prescribed.
