This is the Bechdel cast and normally this is a show where we examine movies through an intersectional feminist lens using the Bechdel test as a jumping off point.
Starting point is 00:02:11 But today we're taking the day off. Truly. Okay so just so you know we ordinarily in our contract are supposed to release 50 episodes on the main feed a year. We ordinarily release 51 and only take the last week of the year off. This year we said, you know what? You know what? We are actually going to take the second week off and we're going to do it about six months before. It's reasonable. But we also know that if a week goes by and there is not something on the feed oh people get feral they don't know they think we're hurt riots in the streets they really but i as a podcast listener if the feed doesn't update i'm either like my phone is broken or my parasocial friend is in danger. So we just wanted to let you know that,

Starting point is 00:05:04 and writers being given a fair deal, we will never be able to make movies that are enjoyable. And we can't talk about them if people behind the scenes are not being treated equitably. So if you have been having trouble keeping up with the news on those strikes, I don't blame you.
