We're siblings. Like, you fight, you disagree. It's really hard to be in a partnership.
You judge. Yeah, you judge each other. You lead differently. And we've gotten to that edge.

Well, it's beautiful out there, sunny and 75, almost a little chilly in the shade.
Now, let's get a read on the inside of your car.
It is hot.
You've only been parked a short time, and it's already 99 degrees in there.
Let's not leave children in the back seat while running errands.
It only takes a few minutes for their body temperatures to rise, and that could be fatal.
Cars get hot.

We're back.
Yes, we are back with Jesse Palmer.
And this episode, we're going to break down this season of The Bachelor at.
We're going to get some juice on how this season operated.
If Gabby and Rachel really got along behind the scenes, how Jesse navigated this season,
if it was difficult, if it was different from The Bachelor.
or Bachelorette for him, it's going to be awesome. It is awesome. So let's jump into it with
Jesse Palmer. All right, Jesse, you just got done filming Rachel and Gabby's season. Whoever the
minds that be behind the scenes definitely said, hey, Jesse, welcome to the show. Let's give you two
bachelorets and let you deal with that. I guess my question for you is how did it go? Having two bachelorettes
under your care.
Yeah, that's a great question.
Nobody knew how this was going to work at all because it's never really happened before.
We've never had two bachelorette's go the entire course of the season.
So it's double the work for sure as a host.
It's a lot more story.
It's two love stories, but two completely different journeys between two women who are different people, Rachel and Gabby.
there could not be two more deserving people to have this have this opportunity but when we started
this thing and i kind of mentioned it to rachel and gabby when we're on the couch and after the
final rose like how is this going to work how are you going to date this group of guys who's going
on different dates how are hometowns going to happen like where are we going how does this all
work and blend together and somehow some way all i'll say is it just kind of worked yeah
It worked itself out.
Rachel and Gabby had to navigate a minefield at times and situations that no Bachelor
of Bachelorette, I think, has ever had to encounter.
A big theme of this season for them is their love and support and friendship together,
helping them kind of get through this.
But no doubt about it, dude, like for myself, for you, for everybody that's going to watch
this season, like, you need a wall in your house with photos and strength.
rings connected to them, like you're solving a crime, like a crime, because there's just so much
storyline going on at the same time. And there's different people and maybe there's a love
triangle over here. Who knows what's happening? But I cannot wait for Bacheloret Nation to see this
all unfold and play out because it really is, it's going to be at first. Like, this is history.
And people are going to see that. It's pretty, pretty cool. Well, I mean, and you're not aware of it.
There was criticism because of, you know, my season of The Bachelorette had two Bacheloretts.
one of them made it past night one the other one did it people were concerned uh fans were concerned
about oh we're doing this again and that was so hard to watch and i think everything we found out
post filming uh and ashley and i are committed to not getting spoilers we work really hard at that
but one thing we do know is that rachel and gabby uh are very supportive of each other now which
means I would assume that they were very supportive of each other then. But you didn't know that,
Jesse, going into the season. The two of them, you know, you didn't know that they were going to get
along. You didn't know that they were going to stand up for each other. This could have gone
a lot of different directions. Can you speak a little bit to what they did behind the scenes
to keep that relationship intact and to keep each other supporting each other? Awesome question.
I think a reason why people thought maybe this could work in the beginning is because we all saw the unwavering support they had for each other in Iceland on Clayton season during the row ceremony from hell and the double breakup.
I remember being there obviously in person at the Opera House in Reykavik and just the emotion, the heartbreak, how hard of a night that was for both of them.
And so we sort of saw them support each other through that.
And I think it gave us hope that this could happen on The Bachelorette.
But you make a great point.
That doesn't guarantee anything.
And, you know, that was one isolated incident.
But what happens now when you put a bunch of men in a room?
And what if Gabby and Rachel are falling in love with the same guy?
Or what if the same guy is falling in love with Rachel and Gabby?
you know it's there's so many scenarios uh on the season of the bachelorette that that we
didn't anticipate we couldn't we didn't know how it could play out and what would happen
but i will say this i think rachel and gabby deserved an insane amount of credit
for how they work together and leaned on each other and supported each other i mean their
their friendship is a real thing.
They had to have some really raw and honest discussions with one another.
And they had to break rules or set rules because, again, this is kind of a first time we're doing this.
And they really took control of this thing.
They really did.
And I think that, I mean, I would hope, you know, for them coming into this, because there
were so many question marks, you know, I don't know if it was something they talked about together,
before they came on but they were ready they were ready to take charge and we don't want to do this
row ceremony this way or we don't want to do this date this way or this group date this where this is
the amount of guys we want to go have a date with or this is where we want to go we're canceling the
date we're doing this like they were they were on it and we really gave them the space to do that
because we just we were hopeful it was going to work but we just didn't know how it would and
I think at the end of the day again the big theme of them supporting each other and being there
for each other through good times and through bad times and really tough times, I think is what's
going to be, I think, very evident to people at home when they watch.

The Super Secret Festi Club podcast season four is here.
And we're locked in.
That means more juicy cheesement.
Terrible love advice.
Evil spells to cast on your ex.
No, no, no, no.
We're not doing that this season.
Oh.
Well, this season, we're leveling up.
Each episode will feature a special bestie, and you're not going to want to miss it.
Get in here!
Today, we have a very special guest with us.
Our new super secret bestie is The Deepa of the People.
The Deep of the People.
I'm just like text your ex.
My theory is that if you need to figure out that the stove is hot, go and touch it.
Go and figure it out for yourself.
That's us.
That's us.
My name is Curley.
And I'm Maya.
In each episode, we'll talk about love, friendship, heart breaks, men, and, of course, our favorite secrets.

Hey, sis, what if I could promise you you never had to listen to a condescending finance bro?
Tell you how to manage your money again.
Welcome to Brown Ambition.
This is the hard part when you pay down those credit cards.
If you haven't gotten to the bottom of why you were racking up credit or turning to credit cards,
you may just recreate the same problem a year from now.
When you do feel like you are bleeding from these high interest rates,
I would start shopping for a debt consolidation loan,
starting with your local credit union, shopping around online,
looking for some online lenders because they tend to have fewer fees and be more affordable.
Listen, I am not here to judge.
It is so expensive in these streets.
I 100% can see how in just a few months,
months, you can have this much credit card debt when it weighs on you.
It's really easy to just, like, stick your head in the sand.
It's nice and dark in the sand.
Even if it's scary, it's not going to go away just because you're avoiding it.
And in fact, it may get even worse.
For more judgment-free money advice, listen to Brown Ambition on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast.
Hi, I'm Janica Lopez.
And in the new season of the Overcover podcast, I'm taking you on an exciting journey of self-reflection.
Am I ready to enter this new part of my life?
Like, am I ready to be in a relationship?
Am I ready to have kids and to really just devote myself and my time?
I wanted to be successful on my own, not just because of who my mom is.
Like, I felt like I needed to be better or work twice as hard as she did.
Join me for conversations about healing and growth.
Life is freaking hard.
And growth doesn't happen in comfort.
It happens in motion, even when you're hurting.
All from one of my favorite spaces, The Kitchen.
Honestly, these are going to come out so.
freaking amazing.

Hola, it's HoneyGerman,
and my podcast,
Grazie's Come Again, is back.
This season, we're going even deeper
into the world of music and entertainment
with raw and honest conversations
with some of your favorite Latin artists and celebrities.
You didn't have to audition?
No, I didn't audition.
I haven't auditioned in like over 25 years.
Oh, wow.
That's a real G-talk right there.
Oh, yeah.
We've got some of the biggest actors, musicians,
content creators, and culture shifters
sharing their real stories of failure and success.
You were destined to be a start.
We talk all about what's viral and trending
with a little bit of chisement,
a lot of laughs, and those amazing vibras you've come to expect.
And of course, we'll explore deeper topics
dealing with identity, struggles,
and all the issues affecting our Latin community.
You feel like you get a little whitewash
because you have to do the code switching?
I won't say whitewash because at the end of the day, you know, I'm me.
But the whole pretending and code, you know, it takes a toll on you.

And it's so, it's great to hear because when you have leads, you never know what you're going to get, especially, you know, you might think you know them from the previous season or maybe you don't know them at all.
I think one of the marks of the best leads are the ones that take charge. And you might not even see them taking charge, but it's putting your foot down on things you feel uncomfortable with. It's putting your foot down and saying, I'm not going to do this or that. And I've always said that, hey, that is an option. It is available to you. Nobody can force you to do anything. So it's really great to hear that they did.
that and then had each other to lean on. But you as the host then, did you find it difficult
as they kind of took charge and you were kind of like trying to catch up with them to relate
with them to to meet them where they're at? Or did you feel like, hey, you could get the hang
of it pretty quickly? No, it was a unique challenge for sure. And we talked about how formulaic
the show is, right? So you go through a season, you know, so you and I are the bachelor and then you
host a show and you go through the season with Clayton.
And then there's, you know, it's like there's the steps you see and there's the dates and
the group dates and the one-on-ones and then a rose ceremony and then there's a house
arrival, all that stuff sort of goes down.
I think one of the big challenges with Rachel and Gabby was if they did want to change the
rules, they did want to take control, it was understanding for them what they want to do,
why did they want to do it?
And then how can I as a host help facilitate that and help them enact that plan?
hard to know sometimes when things like that have never happened before what I will say and I don't want to give anything away but there were times that there's there were some times on the show where things happened that nobody anticipated things happened in settings that that we've seen a thousand times on the show and massive curveballs got thrown and we were all sort of Rachel and Gabby myself producers everybody were just sort of
of like, what just happened, how do we move forward from this now?
And we all kind of had to work together and to do that.
And everybody was able to do that, thankfully.
And Rachel and Gabby, again, deserve the most credit because they could stand up and
they could say, this is how we want to do it.
I know this might not fit into what the creative would have been seven months ago
when we were thinking about this, but this is who we are, this is what we want.
you know we're here to find love we're here to find our person and we have to be truthful to
ourselves and we have to handle these situations the way that the way that we're going to do it we're
going to be real about this but that that's one of the things I respect most about rachel and gabby
i think is that they're both very real the different people right like with gabby she's she's as real
as they come what you see is what you get you know that she's so emotionally matured she's so good
I wish I could be as good as Gabby at like explaining how I feel and why I feel that way.
She's incredible.
And then Rachel's the type of person who loves, she loves hard.
And I think we saw in Clayton's season, like she can put her guard down or her walls down
faster than most of us ever do.
She knows what she wants from a family standpoint, career standpoint as a pilot.
Like she has, she has needs that need to be met in order for it to be compatible.
But, you know, so you've got two different people, but for them to have the conversations
they were able to have to try to kind of work through all this.
It was so impressive to me as a host kind of sitting back and watching it.
I was pretty maddened.
Well, yeah, because being decisive is so important.
But then oftentimes, as you're a single lead,
there are situations where there's no right answer.
It's like the less of two evils.
Then you add in a second lead sitting beside you,
those things expound.
The problems probably grow a little bit.
And so navigating those waters have to be.
be tough and that's oftentimes where you come in Jesse it is where you can go okay can we bring
some wisdom into the situation how many times did you find yourself having to sit down in those
moments we're like oh crap I don't really know what to do here uh let's let's talk it out yeah
let's three of us talk about how many times did that figure it out it happened it definitely happened
and you know the other tricky part was like there's times that Gabby and Rachel's journey is
sort of intertwined and it's going together, but then there's also times where at some point
it has to separate. And they need to kind of, you know, Gabby and Rachel kind of go their own
direction. And so it was me trying to give them space to talk together at times. I didn't always,
again, it's not me. It's not about me. I didn't want to be the one interjecting all the time and being
like, guys, come on, huddle up. Let's talk about this. We're going to figure it out right now. What do you
want to do? What do you want to do? You know, there were times where you had to sort of give them space
to have those moments and have those conversations.
But then there was other times where one person's really high after a situation.
The other person's way down here, though, because that's the inevitability of how this is going to work.
One's going to make a decision, and it might affect the other person, whether they're conscious of it or not.
And so then you're having, as a host, you're going over here and you're saying, hey, how are you feeling?
Why do you feel that way?
Let's talk it out.
Here's some advice I can give you.
Here's something that happened on my season that made me feel this way.
You know, it's, and then, and then conversely, this person's here and all of a sudden, literally the next day, it's a 180 completely.
So that was, you know, it was sort of like a scale and you're just sort of kind of kind of, there was a lot of challenges to this as a host for sure.
And, but like, again, because, you know, I'm such a big fan of Rachel and Gabby.
And this was, this was new for me too, because it was the first time hosting.
I actually knew the leads.
Yeah.
When I met, when I met, when I met, when I met, when I met, I literally met him,
he came out of the limo on night one.
Obviously, I knew who he was, but I didn't really have a relationship with him yet at that point.
Having kind of lived through Rachel and Gabby's journeys on Clayton's season,
you know, I was aware of what happened.
And because of that, I felt very invested in them, wanting them to both be happy.
And as it is on any season, but particularly this one, there were some days,
there were some times where I wasn't sure what was going to happen.
you know how this was going to end and we didn't know if we didn't know what what could happen would
they both make it to the end would they both find love would they both not would one bail
early just because they couldn't handle it I mean it's all on the table it really is now was it
different for you uh to host the bachelor I mean given you had two bacheloretts uh but if you
could like somehow think about this is a bachelor's season and a bachelor's season
was it different in terms of navigating it
or did it feel very similar?
It was similar in a lot of ways
but it was very different
in a lot of the ways that we spoke about.
I also, you know, I feel like I had more interaction
with cast on this season as well.
There were some times where some of the dudes
would want to pull me aside and be like, hey,
I got a problem.
I don't know what to do.
You know, can we go?
Can we sit down and talk about this?
And so that was sort of new for me as well.
There was, it wasn't just, look, on Clayton's season, I was mostly interacting just with Clay.
Yeah.
On this season, though, it was Rachel and Gabby most of the time.
But then there were times where I was also interacting with the cast.
It's funny, man, like you wear so many different hats doing this.
And you're, you're an advisor, you're a shoulder to cry on, you're, you know, you're offering advice where you can.
But you're also a cheerleader.
And so there's just so many different, different hats you have to wear.
I think every single day or every, you know, different points of different days, you felt like you
were just kind of always changing them. And so it was it was labor intensive, but it was totally
worth it. Yeah. Well, we're going to close up here with you, Jesse. But I do have one final
question for you. For anybody out there listening, for the fans in Bachelor Nation, if you as
the host of the show could write your own teaser and write the language to that teaser,
giving people a preview of what they can enjoy going into this Bachelorette season.
How would you bring that teaser to life?
What's your best sales pitch to get people to tune in, watch, and enjoy this season?
Well, the most dramatic season in Bachelorette history is the first thing I would say verbatim.
Two, I would just say, hey, it's history.
Two bachelorets, double the love, double the drama, double the fun.
And double the work for the host.
That's perfect.
Well, hey, Jesse Palmer, thank you so much for joining us today on the Almost Famous podcast.
Best of luck as you continue filming and best of luck in this upcoming season of The Bachelorette,
as you probably hit the media circuit here pretty soon.
The work never stops for the host of Bachelor, Bachelorette, and Bachelor in Paradise.
Jesse Palmer, thanks.
Thanks for having me on, Ben.
Thanks, thanks, brother.
Appreciate it.
All right, everybody, the party still continues.
It will still continue leading up to the airing of.
The Bachelor at, we're going to be back here on the Almost Famous podcast. Thank you for joining us
today. Jesse was awesome. We're so pumped here to watch this season and see how it progresses
week by week. We won't stop breaking it down, but until then, we still have a party to celebrate.
Let's keep it going. I've been Ben.
