Hey everybody, it's Chuck and Josh
from the Stuff You Should Know podcast
and it's that time of year again
when we knuckle down to do our annual holiday episodes.
We collected our best past classic holiday episodes
and compiled them into a 12 Days of Christmas toys playlist
that the whole family can enjoy.
That's right, maybe you missed it the first time
we detailed the history of Beanie Babies, Monopoly,
or Yo-Yo's, and a whole lot more.
So listen to the 12 Days of Christmas Toys playlist,
list on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
Have you ever listened to those true crime shows and found yourself with more questions
than answers?
Who catfishes a city?
Is it even safe to snort human remains?
Is that the plot of footloos?
I'm comedian Rory Scoville, and I'm here to tell you, Josh Dean and I have a new podcast that
celebrates the amazing creativity of the world's dumbest criminals.
It's called Crimeless, a true crime comedy podcast.
Listen on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
Hey there, Dr. Jesse Mills here.
I'm the director of the men's clinic at UCLA, and I want to tell you about my new podcast called
The Mail Room.
And I'm Jordan, the show's producer.
And like most guys, I haven't been to the doctor in way too long.
I'll be asking the questions we probably should be asking, but aren't.
Every week, we're breaking down the world of men's health from testosterone and fitness to
diets and fertility.
We'll talk science without the jargon and get your real answers to the stuff you
you actually wonder about.
So check out the mailroom on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your
favorite shows.
This is the Ben and Ashley I, almost famous podcast with IHeartRadio.
Hey, guys, I am here with three of probably, probably the three most popular epic
goldens we've ever had, Kathy, Susan, and Joan.
Welcome to the podcast.
Thank you.
Thank you.
It's so fun.
you guys all look younger than ever
right now as I looking at
we had glammed up this morning
yeah
it's called professional
makeup
we have a date to me
with each other
oh I was going to say
Kathy do you have a date
because I know Ben was working on that
you know what
Ben failed
no
oh no I'm so sorry
we still have a little time
she does have a date though with us
she's a jingle ball
it's still going to be fun
you know what we're her wing men
that's right
I need to happen tonight. Wing women. Wing women.
Susan, Kathy, when we were last together in September, we were going to see the Jonas brothers.
Unfortunately, there's nobody as hot performing at Jingle Ball tonight.
Would you agree? Not even close.
I don't know half of them. I don't even know half the band names. I'm old.
Joan gets it. She said there's no one close. So you agree? They're super hot. Not even close.
Well, first of all, I feel so like old right now, but I don't know. I think I only knew two.
That's what I said. I think I only knew who.
Two of the performers are.
The rest of them, I don't even know who they are.
I'm living through my grandchildren.
They all love K-pop, so I cannot wait.
Well, K-Pop.
Yeah. And Kid LaRoy, but other than that, I don't know anybody.
So I'm going to make you feel younger.
At 37, I don't know anyone.
No.
Oh, I feel so much better now.
Okay, good.
And you're young.
Imagine how we feel.
You're hip.
It's not a testament to the lineup.
This is a testament to the fact that, like, when you're 30 plus, you like, check out.
Wait.
a minute we are all 30 plus
yeah I know like I'm like all
us together in the same boat
relating to the fact that I heard
that there's like this study
that you kind of stop discovering
new music around 30
okay no no no that happens
no you don't know I don't mean like
new songs to me I've like
cut off my artists
it's kind of like I know the music
that I like and I know who I'm gonna
go to when they come out with a new album
but I'm not gonna like
do you understand
If that were true for us, we would not know who Taylor Swift is.
Do you understand that?
There's certain ones that you can.
So we can't cut off at 30, actually, that's impossible.
There's certain ones you can't ignore like Taylor Swift,
but then there's all those auxiliary ones you don't have to embrace anymore.
I use the Shazam app when I like a song, and I discover a new artist.
Love Shazam.
That's basically where I get all of my new music crown.
Same.
I get it from my 38-year-old daughter.
Yeah.
All right.
Joan, do you have any
plans with Chalk
this Christmas season?
I'm glad you're asking me that because I've gotten
so much crap on
social media because I
talked about Thanksgiving and I was like
I'm thankful for my family, my friends, or whatever.
And like I consider him family, so I didn't
say Chalk individually because
he's my family. And
I got so much crap. Everybody's like,
they broke up, they broke up. I didn't mention
his name. I'm sorry. I didn't think I had to. I think
it's like assumed. So thank you
for asking, because the rumors were all
untrue. First of all, I didn't die
because apparently there was rumors that I
was in a tragic accident.
So I didn't die, and I also didn't
break up with John. They were on
Instagram, Facebook. Yeah, all over, social
media, yeah. Yep. So I'm alive
and I'm still a chalk. We didn't break up.
And we do have plans for the holidays.
We got an Airbnb in New York
for the whole month of,
well, most of the month of December and
into January. So we're going to be together a lot.
Yeah. And then he'll be at my house.
with my family for Christmas.
That's such a treat.
Yes.
How do you split up amongst your family who has Thanksgiving, who has Christmas, all that?
So we're kind of a work in progress now that there are grandkids.
So that makes a big difference, and you probably have the same thing.
Like you don't want to leave your house at Christmas time.
So I always do Christmas.
I've always done Christmas.
I will keep that, and I get to keep it because I have grandkids now.
So even though my kids are grown, I now get to have Christmas because they come over to my house.
And Thanksgiving kind of has gotten handed off.
to different family members
over the years.
My daughter did it last year.
John, my late husband's cousin,
did it this year.
She has a big house, but she doesn't cook,
so I, myself and my mother-in-law,
had to make all the, she has the house.
She has the house.
But she doesn't cook.
So we made all the food
and brought it over.
So I brought over like 10 dishes.
And my mother-in-law did.
I made two cook, two turkeys.
She still did Thanksgiving just not at your house.
I just didn't have to get the house ready.
So, John, when you refer to mother-in-law,
is it your,
John's, yeah, my late husband's mom.
Yeah.
Very, very glad.
I mean, she was part of my life for 40 years.
I mean, she never won't be part of my life.
I'm so glad that you guys still have that tight, so, so, so close to our holiday relationship.
Yep, that's so nice.
Really close.
And then, do you guys have any New Year's plans?
All of you?
Kathleen, Susan, I feel like you would be hosting some New Year's Eve.
We want to do New Year's Rock and Eve, but we haven't been asked yet.
We're hoping we want to definitely host the Rock and Eve for sure.
I know.
I think Ryan C. Chris has that.
He has a monopoly on that one.
Ryan, you'll over.
I'll be on a nice, beautiful island laying on a beach on New Year's year.
You're perfect.
How about you, Kathy?
What are you doing?
Counting down to midnight.
You go.
I'm going to be in New York.
I love to go to Times Square, but I don't want to have to get there at 6 a.m.
and wear a diaper.
I've done that.
Because there's no trash cans.
I mean, there's no bathroom, so I don't know how people do it.
I used to do it as, like, a teenager.
my sister and I would basically
be like flirting with cops
and they'd let us into Times Square
at like 11 p.m.
Yeah, that's what I need to
but I don't think flirting's going to do
very good right now.
When my husband was alive
that we had great New Year's,
my husband would grill steaks
and we'd have champagne
and we'd watch the ball drop.
I love that.
We had really nice, quiet New Year's East together.
When my kids were little,
we used to go bowling.
It was so much fun
with like a whole bunch of,
show their families.
Yeah.
So fun.
Being a parent is basically a juggling act.
Dinner, hockey practice, homework, a last-minute science project,
and someone's always, always shouting for you from another room.
So, yeah, I'll take any shortcuts that actually works.
And that's why I'm all in on Hello Fresh.
Fresh ingredients, super easy recipes, and over 80 options every week so everyone eats.
No one complains, and I get to feel like I've got it all together, at least for dinner.
And the best part, you're in total control.

It's dinner on your terms.
They even have 15-minute recipes.

What up, y'all?
It's your boy, Kevin on stage.
I want to tell you about my new podcast called Not My Best Moment,
where I talk to artists, athletes, entertainers, creators, friends,
people I admire who had massive success about their massive failures.
What do they mess up on?
What is their heartbreak?
And what did they learn from it?
I got judged horribly.
The judges were like, you're trash.
I don't know how you got on the show.
Boo, somebody had tomatoes.
I'm kidding.
But if they had tomatoes, they would have thrown the tomatoes.
Let's be honest.
We've all had those moments we'd rather forget.
We bumped our head.
We made a mistake.
The deal fell through.
We're embarrassed.
We failed.
But this podcast is about that and how we made it through.
So when they sat me down, they were kind of like, we got into the small talk.
And they were just like, so what do you got?
What idea is?
And I was like, oh, no.
What?
Check out Not My Best Moment with me, Kevin on stage,
on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, YouTube,
or wherever you get your podcast.
Hey, everybody.
It's Chuck and Josh from the Stuff You Should Know podcast,
and it's that time of year again
when we knuckle down to do our annual holiday episodes.
We collected our best past classic holiday episodes
and compiled them into a 12 Days of Christmas Toys playlist
that the whole family can enjoy.

So listen to the 12 Days of Christmas Toys playlist on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts,
or wherever you get your podcasts.
Have you ever listened to those true crime shows and found yourself with more questions than answers?
And what is this?
How is that not a story we all know?
What's this?
Where is that?
Why is it wet?
Boy, do we have a show for you.
From Smartless Media, Campside Media, and Big Miner,
players comes crimeless.
Join me, Josh Dean, investigative journalists.
And me, Roy Scoville, comedian, as we celebrate the amazing creativity of the world's
dumbest criminals.
We'll look into some of the silliest ways folks have broken the laws.
Honestly, it feels more like a high-level prank than a crime.
Who catfishes a city?
And meets some memorable anti-heroes.
There are thousands of angry, horny monkeys.
Clap, if you think, she's a witch.
And it freaks you out.
He has x-ray vision.
How can I not follow him?
Honestly, I got to follow me.
He can see right through me.
Listen to Crimless on the IHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast.
Do you have any other holiday traditions that you would suggest that I or any other young family out there should take on?
Ooh.
For New Year's or Christmas?
For any anything?
In my family, there are certain recipes that we make every year.
And it's different people will make them sometimes, but it's we always, when we talk
about the holidays, it's always, oh, great, we're going to have to get those mashed potatoes
or that bread or that cake.
Like, people remember, my family remembers.
And it's a tradition.
And it's a tradition.
So you have to start it with your young kids, whatever it is.
You start through tradition before your kids are old enough to understand.
understand that you're starting a tradition, if that makes sense.
Yeah, so much of it is about the food, but I think, like, the memory is maybe a bigger thing or should be or could be a bigger thing.
And like I said, you know, I think a lot of people struggle with what to do on New Year's Eve.
So, like, we started to incorporate our kids and we did the bowling or we did a bingo night.
So, I mean, yours are a little young for that, but you're getting there.
And it's fun.
And if you have it with other families, it makes it a lot more fun.
For your children, take them out at 8 o'clock.
clock, bang the pots and pans, let him think it's midnight, and put them the bed.
Okay, I did that for years until they caught on.
The other thing that I did with my kids, it wasn't for New Year's, but at Christmas,
we always adopted a family.
And we, every year, would adopt a different family, and I would take my three kids,
and we would go shopping, and we would buy the things.
They would help me pick them out.
And I will say this year, for the first time it made me cry,
daughter called me she now is a two-year-old she said mom we're picking up the tradition we've
adopted a family because i remember you and dad we did it every year and so now my daughter has adopted
a family and they're going to do it every year so you're right food is important but teaching kids
especially this time of year to give back is is huge another secret tell the kids because they all
have plenty of toys and you're about to add more now we got to give some of your other stuff
have anything. And they'd have to part with things. It was an ordeal. I mean, that was hard for
them. What don't you want to have anymore because you have too much? That's actually a really
good idea, too, putting the donations in their hands. Get your kids to help you, whatever it is.
If you have a tree, get your kids involved in cooking, get them involved in whatever it is,
decorating, baking, baking, whatever it is. Just get them involved because I have found with children
it's not the big thing.
It's not the gifts they remember.
My kids don't remember any of the gifts.
They remember the experiences that their dad and I provided for them
and that we did as a family, whatever.
And it almost doesn't matter what it is.
It's the experiences they're going to remember.
And they can be really simple.
I remember we used to on two days before Christmas,
the eve of Christmas Eve, we would stick the kids in the car in their pajamas.
I had four kids.
And we put them in their pajamas and we would drive around and look at lights.
And it was so simple and it kind of got them tired.
It served a couple purposes.
You got him in their pajamas early.
You stuck him in a car.
They got a little tired.
Sometimes we bring hot chocolate in like little sippy cups.
And we just drove around to neighborhoods and looked at Christmas lights.
And you didn't.
And you would not have hot chocolate in your sippy cup, by the way.
Yeah.
Yeah.
You can have anything you want.
Yesterday I realized we were kind of weren't unintentionally creating a tradition.
We go to this little quaint town.
It's like a hallmark town tree lighting where they have Carol.
and then Santa comes in the fire truck.
Oh, yeah.
This is like the third year in a row that non-intentionally,
I go over into this little store where everything is really like handmade.
And I get a couple ornaments and I let Dawson pick out an ornament.
And so now that's like our thing that we're going to have an ornament.
That's a good one.
Yeah, so cute.
Good one.
So I'm a big cruiser.
I love going on cruises.
But you ladies will all three be part of it.
What are your, what's your tasks?
What are your events that you're leading on the ship?
Well, we had to do some suggestions, right?
Yeah, yeah.
We did a survey of like what we wanted to do.
Susan and I are doing a live podcast.
So we're going to be doing a podcast on the ship.
But I just found out that Hannah Brown just took up needle pointing.
And I'm a huge needle pointer.
So I want to give lessons on the ship.
I mean, come on, would that be fun, teach people how to needlepoint?
Very cute.
No, no.
It's a little, like, non-tropical.
I think with the alcohol involved, they're going to get hurt.
I don't know.
It's a cute thing for you and Hannah to have, like, a relaxing, like, set with
Hannah.
I feel like I'm going to be sitting by the pool and doing, like, I'm not sure if I'm going to, like,
leave my nice lounge chair to go needlepoint.
Oh, I'm going to have a dance contest.
I'll be the judge.
I love all that.
Bingo.
Bingo.
I know.
I volunteered to call Bingo.
I did too.
I called, yeah.
But I think I'm doing a question and answer.
So I hope that I don't know what people want to ask me.
I kind of feel like I've talked about it all.
I've got to think of something good.
Well, they might ask the same questions.
They just didn't hear that yet.
Yeah, maybe so.
We'll do anything they want.
Yeah, we're just happy to be invited.
We're there to mingle and make people smile.
I'm hoping there's lots of single men.
Yeah, right.
Have, okay, single men, your age?
You think that's going to happen?
A singles cruise.
I think it's a different cruise that we did put you on.
It's going to be all women.
Let's face it.
Yeah.
And a lot of, my fans, right, and her and her and her husband
They're coming.
Yeah, there might be some couple, a few couples.
Single men in their 60s?
Good luck.
I say zero.
I say 4,000 people there will be zero.
I'm heading back to the golf course.
I'm heading back to the golf course.
Better odds.
Actually, student, why do I always think that you were in paradise?
Because mentally, like, we all prepared for you to be there and you weren't because you have a boyfriend.
She got a boyfriend.
She got a boyfriend.
You obviously spent plenty of time with Kat and Dale, and they have maybe not really announced that they broke up, but we all know that they did.
So what's your take on that?
You know, I had high hopes for them.
They were not, if I'm being honest and I always am, they were not at the top of my list of couples who I thought would make it.
But I was hoping they would.
They both have, you know, they're both a little bit older than the average young ones.
that were at Paradise and they've had a lot of experiences and they've been in the public eye a lot
and, you know, Kat had been engaged and all that. So I was really hoping that they had found
each other. But yeah, I'm sad. It's sad. I didn't think they were in us. You know what? It's whether
you think it, I'm a, I'm the eternal optimist. Like, I wanted them to make it. And Alicia and
Sean, those were the two couples that I was like, I'd like them to make it. But honestly, it doesn't
surprised me that either one broke up and actually i did tell dale before i left paradise
that if things didn't work out with them and i have my number
why don't we focus on all the couples that did make it there is quite a few there oh i know
yes and they're all moving in together i know it's so good they're all moved in together i know
yeah so good stuff andrew allison andrew they're talking about finances all right
already and how they're splitting it up and investing in the future.
And I am impressed and I'm really happy for their trajectory.
Yeah.
I was so thrilled with them.
And girlfriends move in the Texas.
Spencer and Jess, she just moved, and Jess, she just moved to Dallas.
Yeah.
And they have some finances to start with to invest.
They're starting good.
Well, both of them too.
They want to end up.
Yeah, they all do.
Yeah.
That was a interesting twist.
And I wasn't a huge fan of it in the beginning because I didn't want people.
people to stick around and pretend they were couples just to get the money.
But the way it turned out was just perfect.
It really was because look at Alex with her student loans.
And she talked in this recent interview.
So you guys don't, I don't know if this was shown, but we did interviews towards the end.
And Keith and I had already said on camera that we were not going to take the money from young people starting out.
But we had these interviews and I asked.
I asked Alex what they, she would do with the money.
And she said she had a lot of debt to pay off from school.
And I was like, who cannot get behind that?
I know.
And then one of the other couples, I asked Bailey, what she would do with Jeremy.
And they were like, well, we're just going to go traveling.
I was like, no.
No.
They're still together.
They're still traveling.
Bailey reached out to me because I'm going to be in New York and she said,
we'd love to see you guys.
So I'm going to try to get together.
mom yeah yeah i mean it's crazy three couples they may have surprised me and i'm i'm happily surprised
yeah i know and Alex she just said that it's such a burden off of her it's a whole different
life and she ever imagined herself living because of that so yeah it's great that for this season there
was that twist yeah but i love that she like she said that she was kind of on her own at a pretty young
age and i love that she made that investment and then it all like now she has a great career and like i
see her posting a lot about
about being a speech therapist and she's so good.
And now that she's
very responsible. She's very responsible.
It was such a like a
responsible and mature decision
to spend all that money or to invest all that money
in herself and then get to have it paid off.
It's like what a great reward.
Perfect reward. You know what I love about
them? They both
have great senses of humor.
The whole time in paradise, they laughed.
They truly enjoyed
each other's company. I just sat
and watched them because they just were having so
much fun together. And at the end of the day, the person you were in love with, you want to have
fun with them, too. And they just epitomize that. That actually worried me. I kept thinking
there are two friends-zoney. Like they're not lovey-dovey, they weren't romantic. Oh, yes, they were.
I know, you were there, but what they showed on TV was like they were, they seemed very
friend-zoney to be. She was a little shy about kissing at first. Yeah, they were super affectionate.
I mean, it's obvious now that we see it more like in the real world. They are, you know,
wonderful, but I felt like that sense of humor, which I love to, like, made it look too
friendly to me.
I understand that, totally.
I think it's a look thing.
I think they have definitely gotten past of that.
Oh, yeah.
I think they're just a very well-rounded couple right now.
Yeah, they're cute.
I will be shocked if they're not endgame.

That's right. Maybe you missed it the first time we detailed the history of Beanie Babies, Monopoly, or Yo-Yo's, and a whole lot more.
So listen to the 12 Days of Christmas Toys playlist on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
Have you ever listened to those true crime shows and found yourself with more questions than answers?
And what is this?
How is that not a story we all know?
What's this?
Where is that?
Why is it wet?
Boy, do we have a show for you?
From Smartless Media, Campside Media, and Big Money Players comes Crimeless.
Join me, Josh Dean, investigative journalists.
And me, Rory Scoval, comedian, as we celebrate the amazing creativity of the world's
dumbest criminals.
We'll look into some of the silliest ways folks have broken the laws.
Honestly, it feels more like a high-level prank than a crime.
Who catfishes a city?
And meets some memorable anti-heroes.
There are thousands of angry, horny monkeys.
Clap if you think, she's a witch.
And it freaks you out.
He has X-ray vision.
How could I not follow him?
Honestly, I got to follow him.
He can see right through me.
Listen to Crimeless on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or
wherever you get your podcast.
I'm now thinking about a moment in which a breakup shocked me.
Was there any bachelor's moments that couples that shocked you when they broke up?
Because to me, it was Ashley and JP.
Oh, Ashley and JP.
Surprised.
Yeah, they, I feel like we almost expect them usually now.
I'm trying to think
Like I yeah
Like
Like um
Hmm
Was anybody surprised with Gary and Teresa?
No
No
No
Hell no
I was like are you really asking that question
No
Okay
That was a sarcastic ass good
Yeah
Okay because I was like really
But how much fun was the wedding
I had a great time
I sat with you
I was with Ashley at the wedding
I mean holding that microphone
Oh my gosh
I was so nice to me
I always tell her she looked at me and she was like, yeah, we know and I feel for you.
I was like, you're pregnant, right?
And you're like, how do I know?
I'm like, you look like you're about to vomit and you haven't drink on me.
You're not having to drink.
You don't even know.
I don't know if I talked to you about that afterward, but that was like the most traumatic
night of throwing up while pregnant that I've ever had in my life.
Oh, that's inconvenient.
You know what?
Gary and Teresa's wish they had been throwing up all night instead of what they were doing.
At least it would have gotten.
the mound of it. But that wedding was
over the top, though. We have to admit.
That was fabulous. It was a phenomenal
event to be invited to. It really
was. Even though we didn't have a lot of
faith in the marriage, it was a great wedding.
I got to say, I loved being
able to have a airpiece
in and do that life with
until an April of Shepardt back bail.
There were some great moments
at that wedding. There were. Great moments.
Live TV is good. Yeah.
Yeah. And the fact that you guys
can just take up that skill
is amazing
showing up at a party
we can do that
but you know what Ashley
look at this
three two years ago
two and a few years ago
we did not know each other
and look at us
we've got that's the best thing
about bachelor's the friendships
yeah and you probably know that too
I mean obviously
certainly absolutely
like a frat and sorority
in my life's time
that I thought that that period
was over
I know it's never
never say never
right
all thank you so much
for joining us
have a great time
at Jingle Ball tonight
thank you
You know, just, you know, enjoy the free food and drinks
if you don't know what songs are playing.
I need the performers.
We're going to come along.
It's embarrassing.
You're going to hear a song go.
Oh, I know this song.
I know.
I'm like, that will happen to all of us in me and spirit.
Yeah, absolutely.
Thank you for having us.
Take care.
We know.
Happy holidays.
Yeah.
