Listen to Brown Ambition on the IHeart Radio app, Apple podcast, or wherever you get your podcast. This is the Ben and Ashley I, Almost Famous podcast with Iheart Radio. Hello, guys. Welcome to Almost Famous and the OG. And the OG. It's like BJ and the bear. Hi. So we're here to talk about Jason Tartick and Kat Stickler's breakup. Yes. So I'm really bummed about this. I mean, obviously, I know we have to talk about it because it is bachelor nation news.
Starting point is 00:03:04 And I get it. But it's like, you know. It's only half bachelor nation news. That's true. It's only half news. What happened? Like, when did it become like if there was a bachelor person involved, it was still a bachelor nation couple?
Starting point is 00:03:19 Because wouldn't it just like, shouldn't it just separate off? Yeah. Should be like just a separate breaking news for two personas. in the stratosphere. If Jason had never dated Caitlin, this wouldn't really have been news. But he really stayed in such a relevant bachelor couple for so long.
Starting point is 00:03:38 Oh, that's very true. And you know what's funny? When he first started dating Kat, I actually was like, I didn't know who she was. And I was like, wow, she kind of resembles Caitlin a little. Like in my mind,
Starting point is 00:03:50 like I thought they kind of resembled one another. I wouldn't say they looked alike, but they had like, both had these bubbly personality. both Brutats, both, you know. Maybe that's why I thought that. I don't know. But anyway, yes, it's official.
Starting point is 00:04:05 They are broken up. I owe him a phone call, actually, and I will do that. Wait, you're saying that you owe him a phone call to say, I'm sorry that you... To hear about your breakup. Okay. So that means you guys are close enough for you to make a phone call like that? I mean, I think we're... I wouldn't say we're not like, you know, it's not like we're like besties and we call each other
Starting point is 00:04:27 every day. But whenever we see each other at things or whenever we something happens that's relevant in the other person's life, we both reach out. I love his mom. Because, you know, he did the Today Show panel with me a few times. That's how he and I first met. And that's where he broke that he and Caitlin were a couple actually. And was with us Kathy Lee and Hoda. And so, you know, I feel like I was a part of that journey a little bit there. And, you know, not so much a part of this one. I never met Kat. But, you know, I was rooting for them. But I got to think it's hard. You know, like, I was thinking about this the other day. You know, I make, like, literally, I've had like conversations with people and they'll go, you know, are you into what we call,
Starting point is 00:05:06 online dating? And I'm like, no, I do it with the old fashioned way. I go on a TV show and you're not flowers. Yeah, but also, like, you haven't been dating in quite some time. I haven't been dating in a very long time, although I'm trying to date my wife again to let her know. Oh, we should do that too. Yeah, it's tough with kids at these ages, you know. Yeah. But, yeah, so I was so hopeful for these two. But I also realized how difficult it had to be because they're both, they've both become, you know, Instagram people, right? Or TikTok people or whatever. It's like, well, that's what she's known for. Yeah, she's known for that, you know, as being a social media. Like, she's an influencer who really garnered her own audience. You know, she didn't come from a show. Right, which is huge.
Starting point is 00:05:50 I mean, that's her career. I've got to believe that it's difficult, you know, like, like, I watched the video that she posted about their breakup and looked like the last thing in the world she wanted to talk about, you know, and I don't know what that means other than I'm sure it's, it's not, it's not brand new, right? Because like she said, she's waited for the couple of the hurricanes that passed by before she posted something, which I think is pretty mindful and says a lot about her to, to, you know, not think that the world revolves around her and she should post something in the middle of a, you know, natural disaster. Yeah. Good for her on that. And then, you know, and then you read what Jason wrote. And it's like, you know, he seems like he's really lamenting the moment. And she almost, I don't know. I don't know what's going on.
Starting point is 00:06:37 I don't know if she looks like she's just sort of, I mean, she doesn't really have a choice, right? She's a mom. She doesn't have time to, like, sit around and wallow. She's got to get back in the mix with her child and be present and be, you know, you can't sit in the couch and eat, you know, a couple cases of Hagen-Doss for a month to get yourself while, you know, over a breakup, you got a kid that needs you. So you're back in the mix, you know? I don't know.
Starting point is 00:07:00 What are your thoughts? I mean, you're a woman. You've gone through this kind of thing. And, you know, what do you think when you, when you see both sides of this? Yeah. So hers is obviously, we feel more emotionally because we see her and we hear her when she's talking about it. She says it's mutual in the video.
Starting point is 00:07:16 There's two sides of this. You can say, oh, it's mutual and like both people are going to be sad. Or you can try to spin it the. the more the juicier way I suppose and be like she seems quite upset doesn't seem mutual and you know I don't want to make a lot of judgments there we really
Starting point is 00:07:34 don't know at all what happened Jason said in his statement that he's a guy that like falls hard falls fast and sometimes falling in love like that doesn't always work out I think he's like kind of referring to his relationship with Caitlin in that sense too just because he kind of like
Starting point is 00:07:52 makes it a general statement right um but the two of them have been together for i want to say it was like nine months i think they were first spotted on vacation and december or january together i know ben had dinner with him and i think february the two of them yeah and then they announced their relationship and i'll have the dates in front of me but i sometimes during the spring and so much the relationship was public and there was so much yeah love bombing on social media media where it's just like just so many tic talks and reels of them showing how into each other they were and then all of a sudden it stops and we get that you have to do you know it's kind of
Starting point is 00:08:36 you don't have to do anything but we get that as two influencers right it's beneficial to show your love like that if it's you know you'd like to think true and yeah i'm sure it was very very true. We have no idea why they broke up, like I said. And we probably will never will. Yeah. Unless she wants to reveal some things on her end. I don't think Jason
Starting point is 00:09:01 will ever say anything. I always say there's three sides to every story. There's her side, his side, and the truth, right? So, like, and that's, I really believe that. Not just in breakups, but in arguments and, you know, whatever it might be. It's like there's always there's always some gray area where we're all
Starting point is 00:09:16 interpreting things a little bit differently than one another. And you got to hope that somehow that just sort of mixes in the middle and it's it's all good but you know in a situation like this i think you know obviously she she's she's very busy with her you know social media career like you said this isn't a hobby for her this is this she's really popular and really well known and really established and she's she's a mom you know and so i would imagine as she strikes me as someone who would be a really hands-on parent it seems i mean this as much as you can be, you know, when you're not with your child all the time. So, you know, I would guess that you, you know, your kid always comes first and you would hope
Starting point is 00:09:57 that that's, you know, the thing. So I wonder if that has anything to do with it. That probably makes it harder for her. I'm sure that she didn't want to, one, introduce Jason to her. I'm sure he stayed. I don't, I'm just assuming things, but I'm sure he stayed at their house at some point and um you know she did put their relationship out there so much with a with having a child and that's totally fine but i'm just saying that like i think that she probably was like i thought that this would have more longevity yeah more legs yeah yeah yeah because you know they always say that people say like i didn't introduce them to my kids for six months you know and all of a sudden i was like okay maybe we're at that point or something you know yeah yeah thank you right
Starting point is 00:10:42 I feel for her on that, and especially since she's probably, that's what she's probably getting in the comments. Like, why did you, you know, why was, did you allow your daughter to be so involved in that relationship? So that's what sucks for her. But, and it sucks just in general that like you have to deal with something like that when you do have a career like she does. But, you know, then you also have to think about the benefits of a career like we all have. And it's just like it's the best job in the entire world, but it does come with its downsides and that being one of them. Yeah, yeah, there's definitely a downside to it. I don't write songs. God write songs. I take dictation. I didn't even know you've been a pastor for over 10 years. I think culture is any space that you live in that develops you.
Starting point is 00:11:29 On a recent episode of Culture Raises Us podcast, I sat down with Warren Campbell, Grammy-winning producer, pastor, and music executive to talk about the beats, the business, and the legacy behind some of the biggest names in gospel are in. and B and hip-hop. This is like watching Michael Jackson talk about Thurley before it happened. Was there a particular moment where you realize just how instrumental music culture was to shaping all of our global ecosystem? I was eight years old and the Motown 25 special came on.
Starting point is 00:11:58 And all the great Motown artists, Marvin, Stevie Wonder, Temptations, Diana Raw. From Mary Mary to Jennifer Hudson, we get into the soul of the music and the purpose that drives it. Listen to Culture Raises us on the iHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Hi, my name is Enya Umanzor. And I'm Drew Phillips. And we run a podcast called Emergency Intercom. If you're a crime junkie and you love crimes, we're not the podcast for you. But if you have unmedicated ADHD...
Starting point is 00:12:30 Oh my God, perfect. And want to hear people with mental illness, psychobabble. Yes, yes. Then Emergency Intercom is the podcast for you. Open your free iHeartRadio app, search emergency intercom, and listen now. Imagine that you're on an airplane, and all of a sudden, you hear this. Attention passengers. The pilot is having an emergency, and we need someone, anyone, to land this plane.
Starting point is 00:12:56 Think you could do it? It turns out that nearly 50% of men think that they could land the plane with the help of air traffic control. And they're saying, like, okay, pull this, until this. Do this, pull that, turn this. It's just... I can do it in my eyes close. I'm Mani. I'm Noah. This is Devin. And on our new show, No Such Thing, we get to the bottom of questions like these.
Starting point is 00:13:17 Join us as we talk to the leading expert on overconfidence. Those who lack expertise lack the expertise they need to recognize that they lack expertise. And then, as we try the whole thing out for real. Wait, what? Oh, that's the run right. I'm looking at this thing. See? Listen to No Such Thing on the IHeart Radio app. Apple Podcasts or wherever you get your podcasts. Hola, it's HoneyGerman.
Starting point is 00:13:44 And my podcast, Grasasas Come Again, is back. This season, we're going even deeper into the world of music and entertainment with raw and honest conversations with some of your favorite Latin artists and celebrities. You didn't have to audition? No, I didn't audition. I haven't audition in like over 25 years. Oh, wow. That's a real G-talk right there.
Starting point is 00:14:02 Oh, yeah. We've got some of the biggest actors, musicians, content creators, and culture shifters sharing their real stories of failure and success. I feel like this is my destiny. You were destined to be a start. We talk all about what's viral and trending with a little bit of chisement, a lot of laughs, and those amazing Vibras you've come to expect.
Starting point is 00:14:23 And of course, we'll explore deeper topics dealing with identity, struggles, and all the issues affecting our Latin community. You feel like you get a little whitewash because you have to do the code switching? I won't say whitewash because at the end of the day, you know what I'm me? Yeah. But the whole,
Starting point is 00:14:37 pretending and cold, you know, it takes a toll on you. Listen to the new season of Grasasas Come Again as part of My Cultura Podcast Network on the IHart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. Hi, I'm Janica Lopez, and in the new season of the Overcomfit podcast, I'm taking you on an exciting journey of self-reflection. Am I ready to enter this new part of my life? Like, am I ready to be in a relationship? Am I ready to have kids and to really just devote myself and my time?
Starting point is 00:15:05 I wanted to be successful on my own, not just, because of who my mom is. Like, I felt like I needed to be better or work twice as hard as she did. Join me for conversations about healing and growth. Life is freaking hard. And growth doesn't happen in comfort. It happens in motion, even when you're hurting. All from one of my favorite spaces, The Kitchen.
Starting point is 00:15:27 Honestly, these are going to come out so freaking amazing. Be a part of my new chapter and listen to the new season of the Overcomfit podcast as part of the MyCultura podcast network on the IHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. Well, I guess you're right. We're probably never going to know.
Starting point is 00:15:52 I mean, maybe it is amical amongst both of them. And, you know, maybe, you know, who knows? Maybe there's a light at the end of the tunnel at some point for them as well. You never know, I guess. But it doesn't seem like it right now, reading her message. As I don't know her personally at all. And, you know, I've only seen Jason on
Starting point is 00:16:11 occasion. Yeah. I still feel like I can talk about Jason's future romances more so because he's part of Bachelor Nation. So I'm not even going to dabble with her. But what do you see is next for Jason? You think he's going to be single for a while? Or do you think that he's going to date somebody else in the public eye he's going to date somebody in private you know i will say this so having been someone who dated publicly and got married publicly and then divorced publicly um you know um the hardest thing is is something like this you know like i remember going into the grocery store and i'm sitting there all heartbroken and i walk in and you know my ex-wife and i are the cover of you know us weekly and you know with the with a rip down the metal and i'm just like oh
Starting point is 00:17:01 geez, you know, and I made the conscious choice after that that I was like, you know, even if I do date someone in the public eye, which I did, I'm like, I'm not going to be public about it, you know, and so I'm going to try and keep something to myself for a while. And I would say, you know, for Jason in particular, like you said, I don't know Kat, so I won't speak to that, but Jason in particular, I do know him. And he's gone through two pretty public now, you know, breakups. And, you know, maybe it is time to try and not be so out there with it and see if that helps, you know, or maybe, you know, and you definitely have every right to say that, right? You definitely have every right to go, I'm going to take my time on this next one.
Starting point is 00:17:41 And I'm just going to, you know, I'm going to wait before I put it out there because I don't want people commenting, even if that's why you're not doing it. It's just to keep, you know, everybody at home just to sort of keep their mouth shut up for a little bit and give me a chance to have a relationship that develops at a normal pace as opposed to a highly accelerated pace, which I think that's what's. social media does it takes it next level really fast you know so i don't know that that would be my thoughts well the next thing we can hopefully get is an answer from one of them at some point i'm sure jason will come on the podcast um you know when this is less relevant news but always interested to know what happens in relationships you know i because i'm a nosy body and you know this podcast while we try to keep it classy it really is a gossip podcast and that is fine yeah we do try to keep it classy sandy Diego. But we often, yeah, well, let me ask you this. Are you, are you prepared to break your news here on our podcast of what you did last night? Oh, that I met Justin Timberlake last night. What? Guys, I posted the video on Instagram. You can see the whole one minute in 15 second interaction. I think that's officially meeting somebody. And thank you to everybody who took video of this interaction. I can't believe that I was.
Starting point is 00:18:57 was just like talking to him from the stage. It was just the most unreal moment of my life. A true fangirl's dream come true. Did he know who you were or did he? I always used to say like, you know, I don't know how I feel about meeting your like idols. Heroes? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:19:15 Heroes is like a strong word. You know, I wouldn't call it. It doesn't typically like a hero, but like it definitely an idol. And it was, it was everything I could have imagined and hoped for. I love that. So good. I can watch the video over and over again. But to be honest, I was, like, scared to watch the video once I left the arena because I was like, what if I'm not cool? What if it's not as good as I thought it was in real life? And it was it came across on video wonderfully as well. Was it a set up moment or was it just a total organic moment? Total organic moment. My friend who I went with wrote a sign that said, I delivered her baby on your birthday because I went with my midwife.
Starting point is 00:19:55 Oh my gosh. And Dawson was born on Justin's birthday. And I kind of knew that that sign, being that we had second row seats, might garner a little attention from him. All right. Well, now my kid who was born on Justin's Denverlake's birthday is yelling at me to get him another piece of pizza. So I guess I'll have to go on to that. Mom, duty calls. All right, we have a great night.
Starting point is 00:20:18 Thanks, everybody for listening to Almost Famous and the OG. We've had a good time. Almost amazing than Joe G. You know, you should fill in for bed whenever we need. we'll just keep going at that. I love it. I love it too. Let's do it. Bye. Bye.
