Starting point is 00:02:03 It's the Real Housewives of Rhode Island. Reunion 2 breakdown here with the Almost Famous Podcast. Lauren, I want to dive into this Part 2 reunion, but I want to start with some news that happened before the reunion. Uh-huh. We have an Instagram post from one of this season's biggest characters, Liz. I told you. She says I'm full of gratitude for the amazing opportunity to appear on the show. As filming for Season 2 begins, I have made a decision to take a step back and focus on my family, my work, and my passions.
Starting point is 00:02:37 The Rio Hussweis, Rhode Island cast is an amazing group of women. I don't know if we could necessarily say they all think that about each other. After this reunion, we'll get into that in a bit. The amazing group of women who have created something special. I'll be watching next season, rooting for the continued success of this franchise. For now, I look forward to enjoying this little corner of the world from other side of the camera. Lauren, you predicted this. I guess now we can say why, how, like what made you think that this was going to happen?
Starting point is 00:03:14 I guess now I can say why is that she just told Ashley that she's just, you know, she's got her money. she's got her perfect life she's got her now granddaughter she doesn't need this drama it's not something like oh they're younger and they're going to be part of this franchise
Starting point is 00:03:33 for a long time so I think she's called the quits like why do you need the drama and like there's relationships that you have with people like Alicia that she didn't think would go south so why why continuing destroying this and her marriage maybe
Starting point is 00:03:45 you know there's a whole much of things doesn't seem worth it for her yeah it's you know this reunion brought up some of the legal stuff that's going on i guess it didn't bring it up about her but we we maybe saw it in the headlines or there's been rumors about it Lauren do you think that has anything to do with it like that it could have been to come a storyline this next season and it's not something that she wants airing to the world I'm sure that's definitely part of it
Starting point is 00:04:12 I mean even if the rumors like with Dino's allegedly being like a mobster or something like she's like I don't, if it's true or not, she doesn't want to be part of it. So I understand her. I think it's a true loss. I'm really sad about it. Yeah, I agree. Yeah, I mean, she's the glue.
Starting point is 00:04:32 And I think it may be weird to have these two groups connecting, kind of. Like, she's the bridge. Who steps up? Well, I'm going to say Joellen, but she's already stepped up. Yeah, but Joellen's not a bridge. I mean, Liz had her moments where I felt like she crossed a line to be, like, I just could understand why she was doing what she was doing or she felt like a mean girl or she was confusing in a lot of ways.
Starting point is 00:04:55 She got involved in a few arguments that I felt like were below her as kind of the blue. But Joellen, I don't think, can be the bridge. Like, I think now Joellen has her role. And that is investigator, digger, kind of prodder. She's the one that's going to bring up other people's stuff. Alicia's the bridge. But I feel like Alicia is not all there to be said. bridge in the nicest way possible.
Starting point is 00:05:23 I mean, I just don't see Alicia doing it because you can literally like coax or like hand her the just and not even the right thing to say, but the like clear thing to think and say. And Alicia just doesn't take it. Like I don't think she sees the world in the same way as everybody else. She's frustrating in the sense. Alicia's too frustrating to be a bridge. because you're like, hey, you're upset with your husband for not giving you anything, but you don't want to take the time to actually sit down and figure out how to get it. I was just going to say that then.
Starting point is 00:05:59 I was like, we'll wait to we get into that whole thing, but that's what I was thinking. You can't complain, but I'm going to say it. Ashley is the bridge. Ashley is the bridge because she's actually cordial with both sides. She'll instigate more hangouts now. I know she's going to a concert with Joellen, which is crazy, like on their own as friends and that is definitely something a bridge would do. I agree. I think Ashley's the only clear choice and that's I would love to have said somebody else because obviously we're biased here.
Starting point is 00:06:30 I don't want to put Ashley in every category, but she's not every category. She is somebody that will not dip low in every argument. She is somebody that will see both sides as long as both sides exist and are reasonable. She is somebody that I think everybody there wants to hang out with, but not, but I think some of them feel like, hey, Ashley's not going to give us the opportunity to hang out with her because she's so cool. Now she can step into that role. I feel you. And I think Ashley has to become that, I think Ashley has to step up and become the leader of the
Starting point is 00:07:04 group in the way that she wasn't this season. But I think we both know she can be. Yeah, absolutely. Yeah. I think she's going to really, I think she's going to thrive. I think she's very comfortable with all these girls and she's been hanging out with them in person way more this summer. So I think. Yeah, because she got peer pressured into it. She got peer pressured into it, but she was over at Rula's house the other day. We already know her
Starting point is 00:07:28 and Rosie are closed. Rosie babysat her kids yesterday. She's going to a concert with Joellen. Now all we need is like a Liz hangout. I mean, a Liz. I mean a Kelsey hangout. Yeah, that might not happen, right? That is tough. That's tough. Hey, it is the week of July 4th. We took the week off here at the most famous podcast, but it doesn't mean that reunions stop. The Real Housewives of Rhode Island Reunion Part 2 did air. And so we're here to talk about it. We've obviously covered that Liz is stepping away from the show. So let's just dive into the actual breakdown of part 2. This episode is perfectly started kind of with the cliffhanger of last episode where we see Rula and Joellen really going at it.
Starting point is 00:08:18 Lauren, my take from this really through the whole part one and part two is Joelan has convinced me that she knows a lot and I think she's right. I know. Rula just doesn't want to see it. Yeah. Rula doesn't want to see it, which is her prerogative, but she's not answering the most simple of questions. And if you can answer those questions, you know the answer is wrong.
Starting point is 00:08:44 they get into the Spanish teacher allegations a little bit of Brian, of Rula being the other woman to the Spanish teacher. I can't believe I'm seeing Rula yell so loudly at the beginning of this episode. What is she protecting, Lauren? Is she protecting herself? Is she protecting her marriage? Is she protecting, is she just trying to not have anything said about it? I mean, I'm with her, Lauren, you just said it.
Starting point is 00:09:12 it's rule is prerogative to believe this stuff or not or it's her business she can handle it or not but i agree with joellen in a sense of hey i would stay out of this if you didn't call me a liar and as soon as you called me a liar now i have something to prove to you if you just said hey and i do probably think roula did say and joel in at the beginning actually just wanted to dig into dirt so that gets a little blurry but if the reason for joelan continuing to do what she's done and learn what she's learning and pull up court documents, bonkers, by the way. I mean, just as she admits, like, it's absolutely crazy and it is crazy that she's doing all this. I understand that she's doing it because she's like, you called me a liar and I want to show everybody that I'm not.
Starting point is 00:09:57 That, hey, you can believe what you want to believe, but what I'm telling you is true. Yeah. I would defend my name to the end and you can see Gary being like, she's just protecting her name now at this point. It has nothing to do with making your husband look. like a bad guy. She just doesn't want to look like a liar. I totally feel that. I feel like maybe at this point, like it's so far gone that rule is like trying to protect her kids from all of this. So she's trying to make it look like he actually is telling the truth because I'm sure her poor kids are getting ridiculed at school and my friends and parents and stuff. So if like she can hold
Starting point is 00:10:34 some information back, um, like the date that got married or when she conceived her first child and all this stuff out of wedlock, then that'd be saving them some issues. But I have genuinely no idea. She just want to go through a second divorce, basically. It'd be different, I think, if Brian felt like somebody we here wanted to protect. We're like, hey, poor guy. But he's not helping himself out at all. He either is lying and digging a deeper hole with his lies because truth, like, the truths are being unfolded in front of him. And he's just, I mean, finding new ways to escape them. But he also seems to enjoy this too much for me to try to side with him at any point.
Starting point is 00:11:20 Not that I could. But he seems to genuinely enjoy the attention he's getting, even if it's negative. And I am shocked by that. I know. And he even says, like, well, I can't speak to that because the case was dismissed. I'm like, literally, what did you just say? You said the case was dismissed. So let's speak to it.
Starting point is 00:11:41 it. Nothing he says ever has an end point to it, but he doesn't mind talking still. I'm like, you're not making sense in anything you say. Do you think anybody in that room is believing in? Zero. And I'm so disappointed that Andy didn't stop everyone in the room and be like, Brian, answer this point blank. And they never did that. They let him dance again. Why do they do that? They just want to come back? Probably. Yeah. Because if he answered point blank and he said, look, I did this. I cheated on her until like October or whatever. This was last time I saw her. Then we would have no content.
Starting point is 00:12:18 Let's talk about that for a second because in October, this affair supposedly ended. The show for season one was filmed just previous to that, right? Yeah, I think it stopped mid-September. Do we believe that it's over in October? If Joellen says it was over in October, then it was over in October. That's what I think. I think it was. Wherever you're headed, Dejardin is here to assist.
Starting point is 00:12:53 Helping you with investment, insurance, banking, and business services. Dejardin, proud partner of the amazing race Canada. Watch Tuesdays at 9 on CTV. Stream next day on Crape. The World Cup is underway and it's been incredible. On our podcast, The Away End with Danielle Alarcon and John Green, we're talking about the games that have delighted us, the teams that have inspired us, what we're loving and what surprised us, all to the lens of being massive fans of the world's
Starting point is 00:13:18 most beautiful game. Daniel, this tournament has been magical so far. The expanded field of teams has created some incredible matchups that have already made this World Cup one to remember. And now things get even more exciting with the intensity of the knockout rounds as the field is whittled down to one World Cup champion on July 19th. When you say it like that, I got a pain in my heart that the tournament is over. But there's a lot of soccer.
Starting point is 00:13:43 yet to go. And if the first few games of the round of 32 are any indication, anything is possible in the lead up to the final. We've got it covered from an ultra's perspective here on the away end. So listen to the away end with Daniel Alricone and John Green on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. I'm Munga shit together and I'm back with a new season of the podcast, Skyline Drive. This time I'm diving into a rabbit hole of peptides, organoids, blood boys, blue zones, and brain replacement to try to understand what. What this longevity obsession is all about, and what it really means to live forever, for all of us.
Starting point is 00:14:24 I learned about some rad science. I can make a brain for you, and then we can test what draw is the best for your brain, as opposed to his brain. Here are some hard truths. I would expect Indians to age faster, but I did not expect it to be almost a four to five-year acceleration. And get myself into a world of trouble. I'd say probably start bone smashing. That doesn't work.
Starting point is 00:14:52 Make it look more defined. They say it works. I don't know. Listen to Skyline Drive, How to Live Forever on the Iheart radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. What did black music, food, and culture teach us about who we were becoming? 2016 was sort of that last era of monoculture, where we still consumed things in communities. From Beyonce and Rihanna. Everybody wanted to be Beyonce. I don't think we'll ever see another Rihanna.
Starting point is 00:15:23 To soul food, memory, identity, and the stories we carry through black culture. What does it mean to be black and eat in America? So we were this group of people who knew how to work the land, who knew how to live with the land. We make it do what it do. Therapy for Black Girls is bringing together the conversation shaping Black Life right now. You will never make me feel bad for being a Black girl, for being a Black American girl, ever. Therapy for Black. Black Girls is bringing it all to the mic.
Starting point is 00:15:48 Listen to therapy for Black Girls on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. How does she know that Rula's butt smells like garlic? I'm assuming Brian told the mistress, the mistress told a whole bunch of people, be like, her butt smells like that, garlic. And that's, so she sucks. So that's exactly why. And then I saw this guy in TikTok, he's a doctor. And he's like, scientifically, if your butt does smell like garlic, it's because you have a very
Starting point is 00:16:21 unhealthy microbiome. Oh, and it's unhealthy. Unhealthy. Yeah, it's not good. Something's going on in there. Also, just a wild thing to criticize your partner for. I know. I know. It's really sad because that is such an intimate thing that he's just spreading around. And, yeah, Jared, Jared also would love her as about to smell like garlic. Repulsive.
Starting point is 00:16:46 What, wait, what was I going with this? Oh, yeah. So what we saw was Joe Allen say, read texts from the mistress to Brian and the mistress and Brian were saying like, I can't wait to be a good fiancee to you. And basically these texts coming out are showing that he had intention of marrying this mistress, which is why she probably kept showing up during filming and all this.
Starting point is 00:17:16 It was more serious than we thought. It's more than just sex. There was an engagement ring, probably. I guess the big question through this is why why does really care to stay around? And if it is for the kids or for the lack of two divorces and those, that stuff, that is up to her. It's not us for ups to judge. If I was her friend, I could clearly tell her, hey, I don't know if this is going well. I don't know if he is a guy for you. In fact, the ladies at one point say, ruled like you're better than him. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:17:48 Like, which would be a wild comment for my wife to receive in front of me for like everybody be like, hey, Jess, you're just better than Ben, which she is 100%. I think it's an unspoken, like, thought. But you don't say it and reassure it and reinforce it with confidence in front of the spouse. And then like an echoing of, yeah, yeah, you are, you are. I know, I'm thinking of how. How awkward. Like, yes, there has never been more blatant.
Starting point is 00:18:22 Someone is better than someone than the rule of Brian relationship. But how awkward for Ashley to go to their home, like last week and being like in front of everyone, I said, you suck. And Rula is better than you. Like, how awkward. Yeah, but I wonder if at this point it is kind of that strategy where you are like, hey, I like you, Rula. But like, I don't like your husband. That's known. Like, I just want you to know that.
Starting point is 00:18:48 So we can hang out. And when I see him, I'm going to tell him like, you're not cool. But that's fine. If you seem to not mind, Rula, if your husband's just getting absolutely destroyed here, then I'm just going to be honest with you. I don't want to be a friend that says what you want to hear. I'm going to be a friend that says what's true. I think Brian knows it, though.
Starting point is 00:19:08 I think that's why it was okay. I think Brian's like, yes, I know what I've done. I know the truth here. In fact, Joe Allen's been right on all this. I'm not doing well in this decision-making process of life. Rules a lot better than me. And that's okay. I would actually like Brian if he said all that, right?
Starting point is 00:19:28 Yeah. Yeah. You'd be like, okay. I mean, then really you get to choose and it gets to open up. Because there is a little bit of an element, Lauren, where I think Brian still believes that he is like the coolest thing out there. 100%. Just the color of his suit.
Starting point is 00:19:43 You don't wear that without. Confident. you know, feeling like I've got something. When they went around the circle and they were asking about pre-nup, because I'm sure I think they were talking about Alicia and Billy, which is such an other conversation, Rula and Brian were the only ones that had a pre-up. And is that just because they both had like very significant careers before?
Starting point is 00:20:05 Yeah. Yeah. I mean, I think most of the time, too, you know what you might be getting into. I'm wondering how much of this Rula expected at some point in this relationship. with Brian. You're not shocked, I think, by the character that you have fallen in love with, and you're probably like, hey, we should protect ourselves because I think at some point you're going to make a weird decision. Yeah. And yeah, I was going to say, especially if everything Joel in this saying is true. I need, I know I was supposed to do homework for this podcast,
Starting point is 00:20:34 but I dropped the ball because Rocky isn't sleeping through the night anymore, so I'm very tired, so I didn't do it. But I was supposed to find out if Rosie was actually in the car, with Joellen, but I really actually need to, not with Joe, not with Joe, with the coach, but I actually really need to dig to see these marriages, the marriage divorce thing with Brian and Rula in the Spanish teacher. Why don't you just get it from Joellen? I mean, I'm sure Ashley has access to Joan. I know.
Starting point is 00:21:02 I know. I think she would love to share. I need a third party, like an absolutely removed third party to believe this situation. Hey, we, we'll kind of glaze over some of these topics that we're, uh, on during the season and then touched on again at the reunion. We see the Rosie Kelsey situation play out where we talk about the size of her house. This whole dynamic is, I just don't think they're going to ever really like each other. It does seem like Rosie comes out ahead in this saying, hey, I am sorry for the things I did to you this season.
Starting point is 00:21:38 And Kelsey says it would be great if we could hang out alone. And they say, yes, that sounds awesome. the weird twist of that was at some point later on the episode, Kelsey kind of digs back in on Rosie. It feels like they're in a good place. And then she digs back in on Rosie and kind of like goes back at her. And it feels like that's just how are we supposed to ever hang out if you are so excited about coming back at me over things that really I think are hard to believe. I kind of believe Kelsey for a long time on the rumors of Rosie and the things I should. After the last few episodes, I've been like, I don't think I can believe any of this because
Starting point is 00:22:19 Rosie seems to want to show off. Hey, here's the documents from my house project. Here's the documents from the police report. Here's everything. Like, here's the truth. Yeah. And Kelsey's like, still not true. And I don't know what to tell you then.
Starting point is 00:22:32 I don't. I don't either. I don't know if I believe Joellen anymore because Joe Allen's like, I saw the police report in And it's like, well, I don't think she's in there. So now you're just, I don't know. I trusted you this whole season. And then it kind of shows with the back and forth with Kelsey and Rosie. Kelsey doesn't know how one buys a home, I don't think.
Starting point is 00:22:55 Because she was like, well, you didn't just put all that down. It's like that's literally not how it works. And just don't pretend like you understand mortgages. Okay, Kelsey. You just move right back in with Billy. That was a weird conversation because I think Kelsey knew so little about the argument she was making where she's like, I know you have a double mortgage in your home. And Rosie says, well, no, we have a construction loan, which is an incredible loan to get.
Starting point is 00:23:20 In fact, you can usually get a construction loan leveraged off of a current asset and you don't have to take money ahead of any investments or bank account. It's a very smart, as long as the interest rates work for you, it's a very smart practice when it comes to building a home. If you don't want to put all of your cash into this one single asset, it helps, you know, alleviate risk and also you're using the bank's money and not the money that you have stored up somewhere and so Kelsey's actually making an argument for Rosie and explaining this and I'm going Rosie and her partner rich yeah have a lot of like financial knowledge then they absolutely doing
Starting point is 00:23:58 this very like in a very smart way Kelsey you're making the argument to tell us that they know what they're doing yeah and the fact that Rosie like knows this is how much we put down. This is a construction loan. This is a mortgage. She knows what's going on with her assets and finances, unlike Kelsey and Alicia, although I love you, Alicia. I would probably if I was Kelsey,
Starting point is 00:24:23 I would just stay out of, like you're getting a little in front of yourself. You probably should stay out of these kind of conversations until you have a couple more years of experience in the real world. And then maybe you can make some arguments. either direction. But until then, I don't think finances is something for her to broach, especially because she admitted later on the episode that Bill now is helping with her car payment, but she's covering her health insurance. So personally, like, I'm proud, I guess would be the word. She'll see. She's taking steps forward. She's paying for something in her life now. She's writing a check
Starting point is 00:25:05 or has it on auto pay where her health insurance is, you know, getting covered by herself now. That's a big deal. It's a big deal. I am proud of her for that. She did move back in with Bill, or not back in. She moved in with Bill because she realized that paying for our house is expensive and hard
Starting point is 00:25:24 and maintenance and all that stuff. But what I thought was so interesting was when Andy asked, so what's up, engagement, kids, like what's on the horizon? and then she goes, well, life's just getting kind of good now. I'm like, so what you're saying is you're famous, you're good looking, you got men probably coming in your DMs, you're using Bill again as another guy, just taking care of your rent,
Starting point is 00:25:50 and we're just seeing what else is out there. Because if you really liked him, you'd be like, I'm 30, what, five, or I don't know how old she is. And now's about time. Yeah, poor Bill. Bill is going to get crushed during this whole thing. Bill, if you're listening to this, if Polly Market had a bet for you and Kelsey to be together or not, I think the odds would be way in the favor of at some point here soon, your heart's going to get broken. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:26:19 I don't see this playing out. Speaking of financial knowledge, Alicia comes onto the scene. Alicia here, I think, has finally convinced me that I just love her. I know. I wasn't a fan, not because I didn't like her, but she was making me very frustrated, angry at times. I was annoyed by kind of her lack of responses, her lack of care, her lack of, and this episode finally convinced me, no, that's just who Alicia is. Like, if I'm looking for Alicia to say something correct or to care well for her spouse or to be a leader in this group, it's not going to happen. but if I'm looking for Alicia to say some really funny stuff that makes me go, what?
Starting point is 00:27:07 So funny. And so it's so unintentional. She just is just speaking and she's not looking for a reaction, which is the best comedy. Like when they went around the circle, they go, what would you do differently? She goes, I'd wear more makeup. And I'm like, and she thought that was the most valid on par response. Yeah, because she follows it up with, no, I'm serious because I can't stand looking at myself. And we're like, no, I get that.
Starting point is 00:27:32 That's, yes. Okay. I also love the scene. Bravo has been so good at this. But when she says that she stays in shape by doing Jane Fonda and that her aunt got her into it, and they show her aunt like chugging out of a flask next to her in part. I'm like, that is so good. Wait, Ben, I didn't even realize the humor because I was so focused on the fact that she says
Starting point is 00:27:51 Jane's Fonda. Yeah, Jane's Fonda. Like there is no S. So she's so funny. But we did hear that she does not try. drive her daughter to dance, even though they practice. Very frustrating. It is a long drive for dance, though. I will tell you that. But it doesn't mean that her husband who is the one working has to do it. I still get frustrated with her. This was a moment where, you know, she was kind of
Starting point is 00:28:19 talking down to, you know, about her partnership. Yeah. And especially when Ashley was trying to say, oh, well, Alicia was saying, but the pre-nup and the deed and Ashter's like, he's not going to leave you with nothing. He's a good guy. And she goes, he's all right. He's all right. Man is amazing. And then he's like, hey, I've tried to sit down and have a weekly meeting about finances. And she's like, yeah, but a meeting, that's just, I guess they're talking like, then how do you expect you to be involved in any of this, at any level or be knowledgeable of any of this? If you aren't willing to sit with somebody saying, hey, I want you to be involved and you just say, no, what do you want him to do? Like, she wants it simplified?
Starting point is 00:29:03 Well, this is about as simple as it gets. Like the life, life isn't simple. He needs a partner. That is one part I got frustrated with is as he enters in this. He's trying, you can tell. But he needs a partner at some level, right? He needs a partner in helping transportation. He needs a partner in helping with the house.
Starting point is 00:29:19 He needs a partner in helping at work. He just, I don't care who carries which. role, but roles exist and you just need a partnership. He can be the one to clean the house and the toilets and you can be the one going to work, but somehow you both have to put some effort forward in the building of your family and your life. If not, this dude is, you're literally just bringing a burden more on to him than anything else. Yeah, I'm sure there is some invisible that she carries, but at the same time, I don't know what she is doing other than Jane's Fonda. I think he needs to make like a little doll cartoon,
Starting point is 00:29:58 like an AI doll cartoons and she loves dolls, being like, I'm a mortgage and this is what I do. And I'm like a deed to a house and like make it cute and fun for her. And then she'll sit through the meeting. That would be a great scene in this show. Yeah. Especially if the daughter was the one to actually teach it. Because I bet the daughter could probably understand this very quickly.
Starting point is 00:30:19 It's not like incredibly difficult. all. She did frustrate me there, but at the same time, she's just this lovable character that I think I'm understanding more and going to enjoy watching more of and not, I hope she listens to this. I'm hoping that we watch next season and we see this growth happen where some adult responsibilities, even if they aren't fun and even if they are boring and they're not ideal, that she just owns and takes care of so that we can go, hey, yes, she's relatable in that way to me. She sits at her computer too and types things into a spreadsheet to figure out budgets. Like, that would be great. That would be great content. Wherever you're headed, Dejardin is here to assist, helping you with investment,
Starting point is 00:31:15 insurance, banking and business services. Dejardin, proud partner of the amazing race Canada. Watch Tuesdays at night on CTV. Stream next day on Crave. The World Cup is underway, and it's been incredible. On our podcast, The Away End with Danielle Alarcon and John Green, we're talking about the games that have delighted us, the teams that have inspired us, what we're loving and what surprised us, all to the lens of being massive fans of the world's most beautiful game. Daniel, this tournament has been magical so far.
Starting point is 00:31:44 The expanded field of teams has created some incredible matchups that have already made this World Cup one to remember. And now things get even more exciting with the intensity of the knockout rounds as the field is whittled down to, one World Cup champion on July 19th. When you say it like that, I get a pain in my heart that the tournament is over. But there's a lot of soccer yet to go. And if the first few games of the round of 32 are any indication, anything is possible in the lead-up to the final.
Starting point is 00:32:11 We've got it covered from an ultra's perspective here on the away end. So listen to the away end with Daniel Alricone and John Green on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. I'm Mungishit together, and I'm back with a new season of the podcast, Sky. line drive. This time I'm diving into a rabbit hole of peptides, organoids, blood boys, blue zones, and brain replacement to try to understand what this longevity obsession is all about and what it really means to live forever for all of us. I learned about some rad science. I can make a brain for you and then we can test what draw is the best for your brain. As opposed to his brain. Here's some hard truths. I would expect Indians to age faster, but I did not expect it to be almost a four to five
Starting point is 00:33:06 year acceleration. And get myself into a world of trouble. I'd say probably start bones smashing. That doesn't work. Make it look more defined. They say it works. I don't know. Listen to Skyline Drive, How to Live Forever on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. Hi, it's Alec Baldwin this season on my podcast. Here's the thing I'm speaking with more artists, policymakers, and performers like composer Mark Schaman. Once you've established that you have the talent, it's about the hang.
Starting point is 00:33:38 It's the pleasure of hanging out with the people that you're with. You know, Rob and I was always a great hang. We would sit in kibbits for hours and then eventually get around to the music. That's what I mostly think of when I think of him, the time together laughing. Lawyer of Robbie Kaplan.
Starting point is 00:33:54 The great gift of being a lawyer is the ability to actually change things in our society. in a way that very few people can. You can really make a difference to causes in the United States if you bring the right case at the right time. Marriage equality. Yeah, Windsor's the perfect example. Director Morgan Neville.
Starting point is 00:34:12 Film School teaches you all the wrong things about making documentary. What do you want to say? Documentary is all about your ear. What do you hear? I feel like my job is listening really, really hard. Listen to Here's the Thing on the IHeart Radio app Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Lauren, the rest of this episode really is focused on the husbands.
Starting point is 00:34:39 The husbands do make an appearance. Jared is definitely the one that feels like he's getting along with everybody and kind of caring for everybody. These husbands, honestly, outside of Brian, seem really great in their own respective ways. For the most part, these guys have pretty strong partnerships with their spouses. you can see the unique characteristics. I was excited to see the husbands come out. Yeah. Because a lot of this season we spoke about last week was wrapped around rumors about them.
Starting point is 00:35:16 Is there anything about the husbands that stood out to you, Lauren, that we haven't touched on yet? I mean, we've touched a lot of it, but that you really think we need to focus on? I mean, other than the fact that I think Gary rides or dies for Joe Allen and I really appreciate that, I don't think they really gave us much. I mean, we talked about the Billy thing. We talked obviously about Brian and how he gave us no answers. There wasn't a lot there. What do you think?
Starting point is 00:35:44 Well, they stayed away from Liz and her relationship. Yeah. For the most part, because, you know, obviously it was a storyline, but I think they handled it with what you'd expect somebody to handle it with if they weren't coming on a second season. They're like, hey, I'm not going to talk about it. And I don't really care what you think. out of here. Yeah. Also, it seemed like the allegations were so ridiculous that they were kind of
Starting point is 00:36:04 laughing about it. She was like, yeah, I was dancing with another guy while we were on a break and I wanted him to get jealous. Like, good story, Rula. Yeah. So it was kind of a redemption for them. They look cute. They looked fine. Ashley and Jared are just great commentators during this. They do add an element of humor and relatability, but there's nothing going on with the two of them that's really brought about. I mean, honestly, the husband's chat, I felt like happened so that Brian could come out and sit there and everybody could kind of just pen. I mean, I watched this whole episode not more than a few hours ago. And I don't remember really anybody else talking other than Brian. It felt like the whole thing
Starting point is 00:36:45 was here, here's Brian. What does everybody think? All right, go at it. Go at it. And still no closure. No conclusion. I think we, the most interesting part of that whole thing was when she looked at him she was like I'm just learning about this I think it was I think it was the the the Jerry Liz situation but she just seemed like she didn't know this information she didn't know when his divorce was she didn't didn't say when they got married she didn't know that he spoke to Jerry about Liz's dancing she seemed like she was in the dark which I thought was surprising because I would assume that she just knows everything she's playing dumb but it seemed like she maybe just didn't know everything.
Starting point is 00:37:32 I honestly don't know if she wants to know. Yeah. I think that's kind of what I'm feeling right now is I don't know if really really wants to know what's actually happened with Brian yet for whatever reason. Because I think the, I'm sorry, I think the dots were connecting when she was asking, when Joellen was asking? She's like, oh, wait, when did he get divorced? Was he just lying?
Starting point is 00:37:52 I never checked. That probably dragged out. Maybe he was talking to his ex while we were together and it was connecting. and I'm sure they had quite a conversation after they stopped filming. You're right. Hey, as we look forward to season two, Lauren, what are you most looking forward to?
Starting point is 00:38:11 I'm looking forward to seeing Rula's nose settle a little bit more. Such an Alicia answer. I felt bad that she had a moat so much during this when she just got of surgery two weeks earlier. I'm so looking forward to actually have her confidence. I think she's going to be super confident for this second season. She's going to be not so scared, like she said at the end.
Starting point is 00:38:35 I don't know. I'm really depressed that Liz isn't going to be there, but I think there'll be great drama. What about Alicia's wedding planning? Alicia's wedding plan will be hilarious. I don't have faith that will happen this season, but... I don't either. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:38:48 I don't know. What about you? I think it's learning to love Alicia and who Alicia is more. I think I'm going to enjoy that. I am going to enjoy seeing more of Ashley kind of bring this group together. Obviously, Brian and Rula will be a consistent storyline that's intriguing.
Starting point is 00:39:04 I am leaving this episode very excited for the Rosie Kelsey relationship to either build or really break. It feels like it's at that point where it's going to go one direction and stay in one direction for a long time. And I'd love to see the two of them how they navigate. Either we can be friends or we can't be friends, but we're still going to have to film this show together. that will be really interesting to me. I don't think that they could have any worse a relationship. I think it's only going to go up.
Starting point is 00:39:34 That'd be beautiful. Let's see some redemption on Real Housewives of Rhode Island. Okay. Hey, big announcement for all you almost famous listeners. You have loved Lauren so much, haven't we all? That we are going to keep her around. Ashley is still going to be here breaking down everything that's happening in the world
Starting point is 00:39:58 of Bachelor with me and Lauren will stick around now as we are recapping the Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip Roaring 20th. That's where my our speech impediment comes in. Roaring 20th.
Starting point is 00:40:14 It's called the 20th because it's the 20th season right or year? Year. So it's been on for 20 years. That's crazy. And the amount of franchises, the ultimate girls trip is great because everyone comes together from different seasons.
Starting point is 00:40:30 Ben, we got to do a little bit of research here. Yeah. I agree. I agree. 20 years is a long time. I didn't really realize that. It's coming to Bravo in August 9th. And so I would recommend watching it to anybody out there.
Starting point is 00:40:44 I think it's going to be a blast. And we're going to be breaking it down right here, Lauren and myself. Lauren, can we get confirmation that Ashley is a part of this? You know, I'm not really in charge of Ashley's schedule. I generally don't know, but I think there is a good chance. Can't confirm or deny. I would love to see her on this. And it's, I mean, goodness, the almost famous podcast, even if Ashley's not involved,
Starting point is 00:41:10 like we're so ingrained now in the real housewives, like season. We're obsessed. Absolutely. That we got to break it down. So we're we breaking it down right here again. That comes out August 9th on Bravo. Hey, season one of the Real Housewives of Rhode Island has officially ended. Doesn't mean that we are leaving.
Starting point is 00:41:32 Again, we're going to be breaking down the ultimate girls trip along with season two as it becomes closer.
