Starting point is 00:00:00 This is an I-Heart podcast. My boyfriend's professor is way too friendly, and now I'm seriously suspicious. Wait a minute, Sam. Maybe her boyfriend's just looking for extra credit. Well, Dakota, luckily, it's back to school week on the OK Storytime podcast, so we'll find out soon. This person writes, my boyfriend's been hanging out with his young professor a lot. He doesn't think it's a problem, but I don't trust her. Now he's insisting we get to know each other, but I just want her gone.
Starting point is 00:00:25 Hold up. Isn't that against school policy? That seems inappropriate. Maybe find out how it ends by listening to the OK Storytime podcast and the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Hello, it's Daniel Fischel. Writer Strong. And Will Ferdell from PodMeets World. We are back in Las Vegas and giving the people what they want, a full week of Y2K content. Tell me why. Well, for the Backstreet Boys residency at Sphere, of course.
Starting point is 00:00:54 We joke and say this is our second marriage, but it takes a lot of communication. Plus, it's carrot top, baby. And finally, Ashley Simpson-Ross joins us to talk about her upcoming sold-out Vegas residency. Listen to PodMeets World on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Hi, my name is Enya Umanzor. And I'm Drew Phillips. And we run a podcast called Emergency Intercom. If you're a crime junkie and you love crimes, we're not the podcast for you.
Starting point is 00:01:26 But if you have unmedicated ADHD... Oh my God. And want to hear people with mental illness, psychobabble. Yes, yes. Then Emergency Intercom is the podcast for you. Open your free IHeartRadio app. Search Emergency Intercom and listen now. Everyone thinks they'd never join a cult.
Starting point is 00:01:45 But it happens all the time to people just like you. And people just like us. I'm Lola Blanc and I'm Megan Elizabeth. We're the hosts of Trust Me, a podcast about cults, manipulation, and the psychology of belief. Each week we talk to fellow survivors, former. believers and experts to understand why people get pulled in and how they get out. Trust me, new episodes every Wednesday on exactly right. Listen wherever you get your podcasts.
Starting point is 00:02:13 Every case that is a cold case that has DNA. Right now in a backlog will be identified in our lifetime. On the new podcast, America's Crime Lab, every case has a story to tell. And the DNA holds the truth. He never thought he was going to get caught. and I just looked at my computer screen. I was just like, ah, gotcha. This technology's already solving so many cases.
Starting point is 00:02:36 Listen to America's Crime Lab on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. This is the Ben and Ashley I, Almost Famous Podcast with IHart Radio. Hey, guys, welcome to the Almost a hit his podcast. Today we are recapping episode five of Bachelor in Paradise. And guess who we have doing so with us? It is one of our favorite Bachelor in Paradise alums, Tajwan Hawkins. Yay! Hi, guys.
Starting point is 00:03:04 Tajwan, you're a paradise icon. I mean, when people think about you, I guess people think about, like, how you just were so hot all the time. Like, physically, you actually felt sweating. So hot. And personally, like, both. Like, you were just hot. Like, hot. How much would you have loved to have AC like these people are having?
Starting point is 00:03:24 The second I heard that they had AC, my jaw hit the floor. Are you kidding? I would have done so much better. This would have been a time for you to thrive. You should have. So you were on Paradise twice. You're on season six and seven. If only you had skipped one of those, then you could have been perhaps on this.
Starting point is 00:03:44 I know. My timing was bad. One of the reasons you're here today is because you do have some very strong opinions about Paradise right now. And that's what we're having about paradise right now. I think that's what everybody needs when it comes to paradise. We don't need this like lukewarm, wishy-washy. I don't know if it's good or not. I feel like at this point, you have to make a decision.
Starting point is 00:04:05 Do you like the new paradise or you don't? I say that. And as we've been known here recently, we're hypocrites. Because there's parts of this new paradise I do enjoy. Same. But there's also parts I really dislike. So how are you feeling towards the whole season now? Overall, with the new season, unpopular opinion, I think it needed a shakeup.
Starting point is 00:04:30 Like, it was time, and I feel like it was overdue. But I do miss the, you know, nostalgic pieces of paradise. It's just like you miss the entrances coming down the stairs. Definitely. You know, you miss all the chirons and the funny bits. I don't know. That's kind of where I've landed. I think it needed to happen.
Starting point is 00:04:51 So I think it'll take the rest of America. some time to get used to it. Here's the part that nobody's talking about that I really want the two of your opinions on. Before we break down this episode, which you're going to break down this episode of Paradise, we've already been confirmed that when there is the next Bachelor,
Starting point is 00:05:08 whoever that may be, the same production team will be doing the Bachelor. Which means it's probably going to look very similar in a lot of ways with the high-deaf cameras and the editing and the cut. are we excited for that or do we feel like the Bachelor should not change from what it was? Actually, I feel like the Bachelor could use that shakeup. I'm down for that.
Starting point is 00:05:34 I think Paradise, people just like never had any complaints about Paradise. Nobody was ever like, oh, Paradise is tired. But I'm loving it now. I'm just telling you that we had our complaints earlier on the season, but this episode marked like my like three episodes totally in. it feels far more familiar again to me the flashy style editing was is just coming across more subdued I don't know if I'm just like used to it or maybe because the storylines are evolving more but I am finding myself watching it the way that I used to yeah I think it takes some time to get used to
Starting point is 00:06:09 I'm not I'm not I don't like it I'm not I don't like it why what's distracting you is it just like the slow motion sexiness it's a slow motion it's the editing it's location really for me, I think, is even when I think it was Jonathan pulled somebody away to have like a one-on-one conversation at some point,
Starting point is 00:06:31 like early on in this episode. And probably cat. They had to walk. Like, it looked like 20 minutes to find any sort of privacy. Like, they just kept walking and running into people along the way.
Starting point is 00:06:44 I don't know if you remember this. But it just felt like this whole resort isn't set up for a Paradise Vi. to me and I don't I liked Paradise being what it was I have said this and I'll stick to it and I'm not mad at the show for trying something new I think it's always a great thing to do and it takes some courage and it takes some guts I miss beautiful people sweating and being uncomfortable all the time I miss it it's it's something I enjoyed I think the fans enjoyed
Starting point is 00:07:13 it we like seeing the Tajwan's like go down being a beautiful human and sweating her brains out for five days being like I hate every second of this and we're like it's relatable it's really everything takes place in the same set you know how sometimes you'll go to a Broadway show not sure if you guys frequent them
Starting point is 00:07:33 but some some have sets where like it's constantly in motion and then sometimes it's a set set and that can get kind of boring to watch and I feel like that's kind of what's happening and I'm also feeling that the resort is looking a little cheaper
Starting point is 00:07:49 like even where the rose ceremonies are it's just not lush it looks like it could be like just like a standard i mean i love a hilton okay but like it looks like it could just like be a hilton yeah i miss the bunk beds like it's too it's too posh it's too posh it's too posh i'm looking at the food they're eating it's just they're they're having they're enjoying themselves a little too much for my liking no one yeah we want them to struggle but what i liked about this episode because let's get into this episode is we saw a lot of behind this sort of like behind the curtain moments where the guys were talking in their rooms and we saw that we were talking to hakeem today earlier and he said that every bedroom has a camera and there was one really
Starting point is 00:08:36 interesting conversation that happened between was it brian and jeremy where jeremy said i love a moment like this i wish they would do it more often he goes i don't want to want to say what I'm going to say with my mic on and then he like tried to like always say I don't know like what I don't know whether they caught it on a different mic that's like maybe also in the room but they had it pretty clear that he said I should have given my rose to Susie I'm like not that interested in Bailey he messed up that was a big moment yeah it's a big moment especially because rumors on social media right now are that Jeremy and Bailey are together somewhere and like vacationing.
Starting point is 00:09:19 What? It's happening right now as we speak. Those are rumors. Spoiler alert. They might make it. And now she's having to watch this back being like,
Starting point is 00:09:27 you really liked me, huh? Oh, I'd be very upset. Very upset. What was the case? Very upset. All right, here we go. We're going to start this thing out. It is, before we go, though,
Starting point is 00:09:40 Tajvana, I want to talk to you about your real estate career. You're co-hosting with us today because you have strong opinions on this year's paradise. And we need those strong opinions from you. We want those strong opinions from you. We want you to share as honestly as you want to be honest. But you're also very successful right now in the Denver real estate market. I want to give you a second to shout that out for anybody looking and wanting. What's going on? Yeah. There's so much happening. I feel like you see so many
Starting point is 00:10:10 different headlines in the news and like it's really hard to keep up. I would say if you're in the market to buy or sell, just give me a call and I'll help you out. I think the biggest thing right now is calling me to negotiate seller concessions for you so you can get into a home. So that's a really big thing that we're seeing right now. So it's been very busy. I've been negotiating contracts all day. So where's the best way to reach you? I would say just go to my Instagram and click on the link in my bio. Has my phone number, email information there and you can get in touch that's the best way yeah it's a it's a wild time especially because it feels like most people under the age of 30 right now will have a very hard time finding a home and you need a good
Starting point is 00:10:57 agent to find a home to be able to negotiate and to help navigate the process if not you're going to be a 38 year old person wanting to find a home that will never have owned a home and that's a dream i think of all of our so yeah make sure you reach out find her on instagram but today She is a co-host of the almost famous podcast. It's day nine of Paradise. The men have the roses and Faith Martin shows up to the beach, which is still one of the most confusing things to ever happen on Paradise to me, because now we have six golden women and three golden men.
Starting point is 00:11:33 And the men have the roses, just to remind everybody. Yeah, I guess they don't want the goldens to find love, especially when... It doesn't make any sense. It's also a moment where they had Faith go on the date with Kathy. and, like, not wait for Captain Kim to come back. I was like, do they just want us to see, like, ladies out on a lady date because it'll be more interesting? Or, like, do they really not really care?
Starting point is 00:11:58 Can ladies give ladies roses? So true. Why couldn't they just wait? I guess the horseback riding actually had an appointment time. Anyway. All right. So, yeah, Faith comes in. But the...
Starting point is 00:12:12 And she says that she might become the hoe of the... season. She's looking forward to kissing many guys, she says, but is then disappointed to see only three. And everybody wants Gary. He's a hot commodity. I know. Hey, what about cute little Keith? Why is Keith not being a hot commodity? I have no idea. I feel like, especially for the Goldens, this is a different environment. I feel like we're used to seeing everyone else. This is like their playground and now that the goldens are here in paradise i feel like they don't know what's coming the other side of this is the women at and the golden women seem to be having a lot better time with this than the golden men i mean the golden men seems uh like they want to be there
Starting point is 00:13:00 i'm not saying they don't they definitely want to be there but the golden women are kind of like diving head first into it they are our biggest partiers up to this point which is i very obvious when it comes to April and Dale I mean Dale takes a body shot off of April everybody seems cool with it so there must have been more conversation behind the scenes nobody's threatened by April but she's just since day one she is part of my French and she can quote me on that question me on this it just feels like she's trying to get a lay I mean am I wrong no you're right she's just wanting some action she's a little discouraged she's lonely she just she's out there saying i'm going to wear a bikini i'm going to look good and flaunt my stuff and if anybody's interested
Starting point is 00:13:50 i'm more than happy to be there oh that's funny ben i'm going to be honest i don't know if i like the the goldens mingling with everyone else it feels like something just that should be separate it feels wrong honestly i've been saying that the goldins are bringing like a levity and making it actually feel like more normal paradise to me. But I understand, like, wanting a little separation there. My biggest, my, my, my, my, the storyline that intrigued me the most here during this, this episode was Dale and Kat and Jonathan. I just don't understand. Dale just looks like a really bad guy right now. Do we not agree?
Starting point is 00:14:33 He does. He's saying things and then unsaying them. and I feel like honesty is the best policy and he might crash and burn with Kat. It's going to catch up with him. I mean, he's caught on camera saying the things he said he didn't say. Exactly. And they're re-erring that.
Starting point is 00:14:51 They were like, you know, they're going to run. And they're showing it because they want to get him caught. They don't have to do that. They so often don't. They can, this is just a demonstration on how the edit can be.
Starting point is 00:15:07 Like, they didn't have to, to show and they could have left it up to us to speculate, but they wanted us to know that he really did say these things. But I'm in agreeance. Why not just be honest? Like this whole thing gets easier if he's honest with Kat from the beginning where it's a, hey, I'm into you. That's clear to everybody. But I'm not settling down with you. I am still open and interest in other people. However, I am loving every moment we get to have together to get to know each other better. But instead, he says, these things like hey we've turned into the corner we're committed it's all and then as soon as another pretty girl walks in he's like okay all right i'm in i have no commitments here uh it it's questionable to me
Starting point is 00:15:52 and i don't know dale but he says things like i know i'm going to be a great father deal i have zero doubt you're going to be a great father that's a wild thing to say like you like i am a dad i never once told anybody hey i'm going to be a great dad i said i heard show you sure hope to God. I'll pray to the Lord above. I'm going to work my damnedest to not mess up this child. Like that, like to go into any situation, be like, you know what? I've got it. I don't know what it's like. I haven't been there. I have no experience with the matter. But I'm going to be great at it. That's a wild statement. My alert went off. It was like, Ben Higgins is disturbed. Ben Higgins is disturbed when he said that because I was like way to self-describe and then like
Starting point is 00:16:36 somehow seen to the future and then also think incredibly highly of yourself and then say that you think incredibly highly of yourself it is the that right there was like hey man i don't have any doubt i don't want to tell you're not going to be like i don't have that ability nor desire to tell you but to be so confident in something so difficult and unexpected he's like a walking resume honestly he's like trying to pitch himself in this like certain light thinking that's That's what, you know, Cat wants to hear, everyone wants to hear. But it's like you got to make that connection and I think there's a disconnect. Yeah, I help needy kids, want to be a great dad, I'm empathetic, I have a great fan.
Starting point is 00:17:21 It's like, oh, it is. It's a walking resume that anytime anybody does that, it makes me just take a step back and be like, hey, maybe, maybe some humility is necessary in this moment. Also, on top of that, when you are. will say it like it is when you're lying to the person that you're most intimate
Starting point is 00:17:41 with on the show currently which he did right we can all agree he lied he said I never said that yeah we have him on camera saying it so I think
Starting point is 00:17:51 you know even it's a little white lie and things got weird I'm not blaming him for trying to get out of the situation in the best ways
Starting point is 00:17:58 possible I just would say it might be a time to check yourself to maybe ask yourself self reflect self reflect go internal and say maybe I need to
Starting point is 00:18:09 understand that I am not who I claim to say I am at every second. Yeah, and the way that he describes who he wants to be with sounds to me like he just wants somebody to like obey him. Fill of space. Yeah, that's going to go so well in a marriage. Yeah. Yeah. Obeying. Hey, Jessica, listen to me.
Starting point is 00:18:31 Watch what happens. There's a lot to say. My boyfriend's professor is way too friendly, and now I'm seriously suspicious. Well, wait a minute, Sam, maybe her boyfriend's just looking for extra credit. Well, Dakota, it's back to school week on the OK Storytime podcast, so we'll find out soon. This person writes, my boyfriend has been hanging out with his young professor a lot. He doesn't think it's a problem, but I don't trust her. Now, he's insisting we get to know each other, but I just want her gone.
Starting point is 00:19:02 Now, hold up. Isn't that against school policy? That sounds totally inappropriate. Well, according to this person, this is her boyfriend's former professor, and they're the same age. And it's even more likely that they're cheating. He insists there's nothing between them. I mean, do you believe him? Well, he's certainly trying to get this person to believe him because he now wants them both to meet.
Starting point is 00:19:20 So, do we find out if this person's boyfriend really cheated with his professor or not? To hear the explosive finale, listen to the OK Storytime podcast on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. Hello, it's Daniel official. writer strong and wilfridel from pod meets world and we're bringing you viva las content that's right we are back in las vegas the city of sin and giving the people what they want a full week of y2k content wait we're back in vegas tell me why well for the backstreet boys residency at sphere of course we sat down with kevin richardson and a j mclean just minutes before they took the stage and our very own wilfridel basically became the newest member of the band. Starting point is 00:20:11 It's carrot top, baby. And finally, we all L-O-V-E-Hur, Ashley Simpson-Ross, joins us to talk about her upcoming sold-out Vegas residency. It's a full week of nostalgic interviews you don't want to miss. Listen to PodMeets World on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. December 29th, 1975, LaGuardia Airport. The holiday rush, parents hauling luggage, kids gripping their new Christmas toys.
Starting point is 00:20:45 Then, at 6.33 p.m., everything changed. There's been a bombing at the TWA terminal. Apparently, the explosion actually impelled metal glass. The injured were being loaded into ambulances, just a chaotic. chaotic scene. In its wake, a new kind of enemy emerged, and it was here to stay. Terrorism. Law and Order Criminal Justice System is back.
Starting point is 00:21:15 In season two, we're turning our focus to a threat that hides in plain sight. That's harder to predict and even harder to stop. Listen to the new season of Law and Order Criminal Justice System on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Imagine that you're on an airplane and all of a sudden you hear this. Attention passengers, the pilot is having an emergency and we need someone, anyone to land this plane. Think you could do it? It turns out that nearly 50% of men think that they could land the plane with the help of air traffic control.
Starting point is 00:21:57 And they're saying like, okay, pull this, do this, pull that, turn this. It's just... I can do it my eyes close. I'm Manny. I'm no. This is Devin. And on our new show, No Such Thing, we get to the bottom of questions like these. Join us as we talk to the leading expert on overconfidence.
Starting point is 00:22:13 Those who lack expertise lack the expertise they need to recognize that they lack expertise. And then, as we try the whole thing out for real. Wait, what? Oh, that's the run right. I'm looking at this thing. Listen to No Such Thing on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your Podcasts. Hi, I'm
Starting point is 00:22:35 Janica Lopez, and in the new season of the Overcover podcast, I'm taking you on an exciting journey of self-reflection. Am I ready to enter this new part
Starting point is 00:22:44 of my life? Like, am I ready to be in a relationship? Am I ready to have kids and to really just devote myself and my time? I wanted to be successful on my own,
Starting point is 00:22:52 not just because of who my mom is. Like, I felt like I needed to be better or work twice as hard as she did. Join me for conversations about healing and growth.
Starting point is 00:23:02 Well, I was very, And growth doesn't happen in comfort. It happens in motion, even when you're hurting. All from one of my favorite spaces, The Kitchen. Honestly, these are going to come out so freaking amazing. Be a part of my new chapter and listen to the new season of the Overcomfit Podcast as part of the MyCultura podcast network on the IHeartRadio app, Apple Podcast, or wherever you get your podcast. Alrighty. So then let's talk before we go further into them because they do come about again later in the episode. Leah and Jonathan. Leah comes in. She comes in. Did she come in with Faith? Yeah. Or did she come in with Nancy last week? She came in with Nancy last week. Yeah. But she has the date card for he's to still give out. Yo, Jonathan and Leah have absolutely no chemistry. He does not like her.
Starting point is 00:24:03 Are we all in agreeance for this? Yeah, I was giving friend zone. The most friend zone. He kept spitting out his freaking coconut. If he had a true coconut in his mouth, which is fine, like, just, like, go like this. I don't know. It's like, use your finger for a second. And spit constantly was, like, also screaming, friend zone.
Starting point is 00:24:20 I'm not trying to be, like, sexy and turn you on right now. And then, oh, there were just some awkward moments where, like, she was over laughing. And then he would look at her like, oh, God, you're. really over laughing it wasn't that funny they do not have it I do think that Jonathan is still trying to play for cats a rose or like for that kind of relationship
Starting point is 00:24:45 right now but it is like not gonna be Leah well that was my question to both of you is if he's not into her what is he into because he has been friend zoned throughout this whole entire season in a sense he got friend zoned during his time
Starting point is 00:25:01 on The Bachelorette is he picky or is this just his vibe and he doesn't know how to flirt? What are you guys reading? I think it's the vibe. The vibes are off. His vibe is off? Yeah. I think that he's super charming.
Starting point is 00:25:15 Let's be clear. Ashley has always been a, like... I've always been like he's so cute. Yeah. So like she's coming at this trying to protect what she has said and stated. I'm with you. I get it. I've met him.
Starting point is 00:25:28 I think he's a nice guy. I think he's a great dude. I have nothing wrong with the guy. but I think his vibe is hey I'm here to be like a friend and I don't know how to initiate a flirtation towards anybody because I'm way more comfortable just being liked by everyone in like this friendly type way interesting I feel like that can happen too like a lot of times you want to go in and be friends with everyone in the group and be supportive you know when people are going through the things and their connections but at the same
Starting point is 00:26:01 time it's like are you there to find love or are you just there for vacation and to hang out with your friends well my inside sources say that he is in absolutely no way ready to have a relationship so maybe it was just his way of not getting in trouble maybe actually can you elaborate on that please there's not much else to say I just hear that like he's definitely not ready to settle down Sure. Well, when you have a body like that, it's going to be hard to slow things down. We're not feeling it with the two of them. But we do have a date that happens that I am excited about and confused by. Gary is the hot commodity on the beaches of paradise right now. The golden women are flocking towards this man. Even with a margarine in his hand and a cassidia in his mouth, they're saying that is the man I want.
Starting point is 00:26:57 And I get it. He's a nice guy. And he comes in with a big person out. Nancy and Gary go on a date. They participate in a ritual. These people are both people of the Christian faith tradition. So they mentioned that this is uncomfortable for them at some level. However, they're both willing to try it because, goodness gracious, as you get older in life, why not try something? It feels like to me, I mean, I think that drink was just pretty much like pure chocolate, right?
Starting point is 00:27:26 Is that like it's the, it came from the chocolate plant, right? I don't know. No, it's a different kind of plant. I think it's like cacao. Oh, cacao? Like the cocoa, what I like to think of it? That's the chocolate bean. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:27:40 Yeah. That's a raw chocolate. And yet they're acting like they just took ayahuasca. Like they just simply went in and took like the San Pedro, ayahuasca. We're tripping our balls off, having the best time ever. I'm confused. Did they really take an edible?
Starting point is 00:28:00 Did they do something extracurricular here? How is chocolate in a drinking form? Am I missing something? You are missing something. The line where the woman says that they can't have penetration here. What does that mean? Like, I know what that means. I was like, I don't know.
Starting point is 00:28:24 Ashley. Is this like something that often is a desire when people take cacao? Does anybody know this? Do we have any background or like scientific evidence that like chocolate in its rawest form made into a drink all of a sudden makes us so excited for each other that we are tempted to have sexual relations on camera in front of millions of people at 60 plus years old? It honestly should go on the list as in after. I've never heard of it. Never. No, me neither. Like, you always hear about oysters. Right. But anyway, they're tripping guys and then they come back and of course there's
Starting point is 00:29:06 some very trippy thing happening. It's a compatibility, a chemistry test. It's a compatibility a chemistry test where we all dress up like sexy birds. It is a little weirdly erotic in like a demented, you know, weird, dark sort of, what's the Tom Cruise movie? There's movies that have played into this, right? Eyes wide shut. Eyes wide shut. Yeah, thank you. So it is interesting.
Starting point is 00:29:41 My takeaways here is that it made Jill feel very, very bad because her guy, Sean, seems more into April. and Alicia, do we say Alicia or is it Aliisha? Just Alicia, right? Are some people saying it weird? Probably. Yeah. Okay. Alicia, she walks in in the midst of this and he's all into that too.
Starting point is 00:30:05 Dale's all into Alicia and Jill's just like, wow, I couldn't be more friends on here. Nobody wants to like pick my feathers. So she decides to leave. And it's actually really emotional, really. relatable moment to a lot of girls out there, I'm sure. It spoke to my 20-something soul. They gave her a lot of, they gave her a lot of screen time for this. And I think it was beautiful.
Starting point is 00:30:31 And Joe's gray. I will agree with you. This bird dancing thing was like funny, but like very sensual. Yeah. Are we the only two that are like feeling this way? It was like dark, like twisty sexual too. Yeah. Like people are putting on like,
Starting point is 00:30:49 a facade they felt like they could like do a little bit more like Andrew was there with like giving black swan like it really was everyone was kind of playing into being birds and it was kind of nice to see like everyone was kind of letting loose and having fun together it was a great date it's so much better than the five like senses dates that we've had so far this season to mix it up and make people dress up and to have a good time together uh the there really wasn't like a standout performance. There was definitely couples that felt like to me connected the most during it.
Starting point is 00:31:28 I was surprised the winners because I did feel like Alex and Andrew, if you're looking for the most compatibility, it seemed like they really stood out above everybody else to this point. I really want them to do well together. Do you know what was a red flag to me? I think this was in the last episode
Starting point is 00:31:47 and not this episode. Or was it? I get all mixed up when I watch them the same day. So she said something along the lines of like, I go to bed every night and I can't wait to wake up in the morning to see you. Last episode. Okay. And then he kind of made a face when he was in the interview.
Starting point is 00:32:09 Like, holy shit, that was intense. And nodded like, holy shit, this is so cute and exciting. It was more of like, ah, I'm not there yet. Like Rachel explains it to me. She was co-hosting last week's episode. She knows Andrew. And that's just who he is. That he is like into a but hesitant.
Starting point is 00:32:27 It's kind of his demeanor towards any girl whatsoever. He just doesn't dive in head first. It does feel like Alex and Andrew have a very strong thing going. But Brian and Parisa win the date. Then something happens. It feels like this is one of those moments where we're not getting the whole story. Oh, I think I know what's going on. You tell me your theory first.
Starting point is 00:32:50 I have no theory. I just said I don't know what's going on. Yeah, what's your theory, Ashley? Oh, my theory is that he was getting very tired of production being around. And he wanted to have a conversation off camera. And he was like, oh, when we go to the room, it'll be like us time. And then when they were like, no, no, no, we're going to keep the cameras here for the pool time. and then, like, you guys will get the bedroom time by yourself.
Starting point is 00:33:16 And I think when he found that out, he was like, I do not want to have a conversation. Like, I want to actually talk about things that we're not comfortable talking about on camera. I, yeah, I just think that he was annoyed. I think he was annoyed with the production at that moment. Because that's why she was like, what's your favorite color? Because, like, they were like, you know, chat a little bit. Get to know each other a little bit more. And then he was like, holy shit, we already talked about this.
Starting point is 00:33:40 I think he did a really poor job of handling the. situation. Oh, me too. This is not to excuse him at all. He has made me nervous since day one. There's something about him that makes me uncomfortable. He seems to be, like, quite grouchy. And this further made me feel uncomfortable with him. I don't know. I just felt for Prisa. Like, it just came off rude. And when you're trying to establish a connection on someone, I, you you can't go about it in that way even if you are annoyed like everyone's annoyed right there's cameras you're you're it's uncomfortable and you're just trying to get to know people so i don't think her questions were misplaced even if it's a question of what's your favorite color i'm with you
Starting point is 00:34:27 i a hundred percent agree i think you signed up for a television show if you got five minutes off camera that is a gift when it comes to your agreement to be on a television show so the fact that you have one-on-one time with your girl in a pool and that they're saying later on when you guys close that door we're not going to come in there and follow you you got to give it what you got in those moments to be supportive of the situation because you're not promised to anything when it comes to this show we all know that you don't have a long time this is a rare gift to expect it is crazy yeah i'm just coming up with theories here and i also want to agree with you guys that if that was indeed the situation that he did not handle it well at all.
Starting point is 00:35:12 He and Jeremy, I got red flags with them sometimes. Really? Why Jeremy? Well, should we lead into the Jeremy thing, or is that later in the episode? No, it actually is right there. Yeah, it's right now. I mean, why does Jeremy give you a red flag, Ashley? Is it because he's talking about other girls when he's with another girl?
Starting point is 00:35:36 and she doesn't know that he's talking about other girls? Is that why you're nervous? Yeah. He and Bailey seems so strong, right? Like, we would put them, like, top tier of compatibility and chemistry right now. But apparently, it's, like, all an act to him, because he and Brian, in their room, he says, like I mentioned earlier in the podcast, I want to say something, but I don't want to talk with the mic on. I don't want to win with Bailey because of Susie. was this the bird compatibility test or is this just like in general doesn't want to leave with with her
Starting point is 00:36:10 I think it's in general yeah I thought so okay okay so in general I don't want to win with Bailey because of Susie she's a great girl but I effed up not giving Susie the rose and then Jeremy tells Brian that he you know called Susie in the interview room and he says that if Susie were to come back he would give her a rose and he also jokes that he would propose that he would propose goodness gracious and susy would say no just to be clear 1,000% and then in the other room Alex and bailey are talking and bailey says she's ready to get engaged she feels a really strong connection and then she said that she feels love for jeremy and it's like oh my god
Starting point is 00:36:52 they're on complete opposite ends of where they stand is is jeremy batting out of his league here just with bailey like completely no matter what uh taj want i'll let you yeah yeah yeah i'm just like are we all agreeance that bailey is a catch here she's a serious catch so but but also everyone is a catch right so like everyone comes in susy comes in there's bailey and it's like who do you go with i think everyone's a catch but jeremy is saying one thing to bailey and then saying another thing so i think she also thinks that that they're peachy keen and everything's fine and doesn't seem like they are.
Starting point is 00:37:39 Would you be fired up? Okay, let's just play the scenario out that those two are still together to this day. They make it to the end. You're watching the season back. If you're Bailey, are you upset? Oh. A thousand percent.
Starting point is 00:37:53 I'm fuming. Yeah, I don't think so. If they're together right now, and he didn't warn her about this, which he may not have because it's on, like, the room camera, and he thought he was, you know, holding his mic to his chest. Thought it was going to be lost footage. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:38:16 What a fun episode to watch together on vacation. It'd be awesome. It'd be so fun to be a part of that. I mean, Bailey, here's the thing. Bailey is on her own. an insanely desirable person on the beach to so many people she has locked herself up with a guy
Starting point is 00:38:38 who she thinks is totally committed to her and he cannot get Susie's name out of his mouth at any point it has been confusing to us from the very beginning that he has not told Bailey that yeah he called Susie and that he still had somewhat of a feeling for her
Starting point is 00:38:59 it is odd to me. And this is where you two need to come in and help me. I've always said in paradise, you should date around. It's what it's for. Be careful settling down to quickly, but at some point you'll want to because if it's the right person, it makes sense. Why has he not told her?
Starting point is 00:39:20 Does it feel like he would lose everything he's built to this point? Is he trying to win? What is the motivation to not letting Bailey know that he has still had, he still has feelings for Susie. He wants to eat his cake and have it too. Perfectly put, yeah. That's the only thing that makes sense. Yeah, he wants to stick around.
Starting point is 00:39:42 He wants to get air time. He wants to see who else walks in. And he wants to be certain that he'll get a rose every time there's a ceremony where the girls have the rose is. Is this a common, like, trait of people in paradise? Like, do you see this path often? Super common. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:39:58 Yeah, I think so. Because the person that you were hoping was going to be there might show up next week. Exactly. And you want to be there next week to meet them. So you kind of have to tread lightly. So weird. So weird. So weird.
Starting point is 00:40:13 And I'll just tell you really briefly, you can listen to the podcast episode. But she was saying that it would be smart if they were to mix it up. If they were looking for a way to mix up paradise, you put all of them in at once. And then there's no, like, entrances. Because that way, you're like, if the person's not there, they're not there. When you have 40 extra rooms at a resort wide open with air conditioning, you have the ability to put everybody in there once. Why not?
Starting point is 00:40:39 That's true. That's different. That makes it different. It makes it a lot different. My boyfriend's professor is way too friendly, and now I'm seriously suspicious. Oh, wait a minute, Sam. Maybe her boyfriend's just looking for extra credit. Well, Dakota, it's back to school week on the OK story.
Starting point is 00:40:58 Time podcast, so we'll find out soon. This person writes, my boyfriend has been hanging out with his young professor a lot. He doesn't think it's a problem, but I don't trust her. Now, he's insisting we get to know each other, but I just want her gone. Now, hold up. Isn't that against school policy? That sounds totally inappropriate. Well, according to this person, this is her boyfriend's former professor and they're the same age.
Starting point is 00:41:18 And it's even more likely that they're cheating. He insists there's nothing between them. I mean, do you believe him? Well, he's certainly trying to get this person to believe him because he now wants them both to meet. So, do we find out if this person's boyfriend really cheated with his professor or not? To hear the explosive finale, listen to the OK Storytime podcast on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. Hello, it's Daniel Fischel, writer Strong, and Wilfredel from PodMeets World. And we're bringing you Viva Las Content.
Starting point is 00:41:46 That's right. We are back in Las Vegas, the city of sin, and giving the people what they want. A full week of Y2K content. Wait, we're back in Vegas? Tell me why? Well, for the Backstreet Boys' residency at Sphere, of course. We sat down with Kevin Richardson and A.J. McLean just minutes before they took the stage, and our very own Wilfredel basically became the newest member of the band.
Starting point is 00:42:11 Boy band, please. Plus, the man who has the longest running comedy show on the strip joins us and gets his props. It's carrot top, baby. And finally, we all L-O-V-E-Hur. Ashley Simpson-Ross joins us to talk about her upcoming sold-out. Vegas Residency. It's a full week of nostalgic interviews you don't want to miss. Listen to PodMeets World on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
Starting point is 00:42:41 December 29th, 1975, LaGuardia Airport. The holiday rush, parents hauling luggage, kids gripping their new Christmas toys. Then, at 6.33 p.m., everything changed. There's been a bombing at the TWA terminal. Apparently, the explosion actually impelled metal glass. The injured were being loaded into ambulances, just a chaotic, chaotic scene. In its wake, a new kind of enemy emerged, and it was here to stay. Terrorism.
Starting point is 00:43:19 Law and order, criminal justice system is back. In season two, we're turning our focus to a threat that hides in plain sight. that's harder to predict and even harder to stop. Listen to the new season of Law and Order Criminal Justice System on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Imagine that you're on an airplane and all of a sudden you hear this. Attention passengers. The pilot is having an emergency and we need someone, anyone, to land this plane.
Starting point is 00:43:56 Think you could do it? It turns out that nearly 50% of men think that they could land the plane with the help of air traffic control. And they're saying like, okay, pull this, until this. Pull that. Turn this. It's just, I can do it my eyes close. I'm Manny. I'm Noah. This is Devon.
Starting point is 00:44:11 And on our new show, no such thing. We get to the bottom of questions like these. Join us as we talk to the leading expert on overconfidence. Those who lack expertise lack the expertise they need to recognize that they lack expertise. and then as we try the whole thing out for real wait what oh that's the run right i'm looking at this thing listen to no such thing on the i heart radio app apple podcasts or wherever you get your podcasts what would you do if one bad decision forced you to choose between a maximum security prison or the most brutal boot camp designed to be hell on earth unfortunately for mark
Starting point is 00:44:52 Lombardo, this was the choice he faced. He said, you are a number, a New York State number, and we own you. Shock incarceration, also known as boot camps, are short-term, highly regimented correctional programs that mimic military basic training. These programs aim to provide a shock of prison life, emphasizing strict discipline, physical training, hard labor, and rehabilitation programs. Mark had one chance to complete this program. and had no idea of the hell awaiting him the next six months.
Starting point is 00:45:27 The first night was so overwhelming, and you don't know who's next to you. And we didn't know what to expect in the morning. Nobody tells you anything. Listen to shock incarceration on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Hey, as we kind of wrap up this episode, obviously we have the Dale Kat Alicia like scenario happening. We've talked about a little bit on what we feel about Dale's behavior so far.
Starting point is 00:46:01 I just, I think we all agree, right, that honesty would be his best pathway forward is to be honest with everybody. Instead of saying to one person, hey, we're good, we're committed, but, you know, right away going to the prettiest girl that just comes into the beach and saying, hey, I'm also not that committed. and I'd be loved to be into you. Where does this spit him out? Well, wait. He says to her, Hey, I want to go on the date with you. He literally looked at her.
Starting point is 00:46:31 I said, hey, I want to go to date with you. Sure. And then denies it to Kat. And then he also said to the guys, I really want to go on a date with Kat. And I really want to go on a date to watch Kat sweat. And we get this confirmed in the flashback footage. And it's just like the greatest TV,
Starting point is 00:46:49 like I love it and then the fact that like Jeremy was trying to make it seem like Jonathan's being a liar tidal tale in that moment and not saying like yeah well dude you did say that he was defending Dale and trying to cover up his ass and we all know that Jeremy may not be one to be trusted
Starting point is 00:47:06 is this Dale's first time in paradise yeah it shows yeah he hasn't watched this that before what do you mean by that though oh he's going around He's like, you know, there's someone new coming down on the beach and, hey, I want to go on a date with you. But then is it, he's denying it on the other end?
Starting point is 00:47:30 Just say you want to go on the date. Say it loud. Say it proud. And then go enjoy your date and come back and mingle. Yeah, I'm with you. It's paradise. Like, why have we gotten so committed so early? But I'm only saying that he is loyal to one because he's saying he's loyal to one.
Starting point is 00:47:47 If your words tell somebody, hey, I'm into. this and we've turned a corner and we've got it and it's I'm deading it or whatever that word was that he used oh my god it's so cringe and so gross all the things that he says oh he said I want my woman to be on 10 toes like my family the women and my family are on 10 toes I'm like what does that mean can somebody spend that like standing 10 toes down on business oh on business yeah standing still standing strong okay well I don't know. He's just like so critical of Kat already
Starting point is 00:48:23 that I'm just like, ugh, gross. But Alicia makes an amazing decision. She sees all this playing out and we don't get to see all the conversations that had. We have to give Alicia credit here. She doesn't choose to ask Dale in this date because it seems of a conversation she had with Kat that made her go, hey, I'm going to
Starting point is 00:48:42 not step on the toes of Kat here, even though I might want to. I fully want to. I'm not going to do it. I have to give her credit for the decision she made to bring Sean on this date. And this date does turn sensual fast. It feels like the two of them are drinking cacao leaves or whatever it was there. There was a lot of tongue action in those kisses.
Starting point is 00:49:03 They liked each other. They're into each other. Well, so we thought until he comes back. Sorry, my alarm. So we thought until she comes back from the date and she's like, well, actually, like, Dale's still number one. she entered on a classy note like anyone in that position
Starting point is 00:49:23 you don't want to ruffle too many feathers pun intended right like I think she made the right move I think so too but I think there's a lot of story to be told a lot to come a lot to come for the preview
Starting point is 00:49:37 of the rest of the season we don't see a rose ceremony this episode we kind of get the buildup to the rose ceremony it does to my shock to everybody listening It is my shock that no other golden dudes came to the beach. It has to be a casting issue.
Starting point is 00:49:55 If they had one dude sitting in that resort waiting for his turn, they would have sent him to the beach this week. They didn't. I don't think we see any other golden men come to the beach for the rest of the season. I think after this week, we get the whole money thing happening and no new or later rivals happen. We have our locked down cast. If we gave our predictions, take a few minutes based on the previews,
Starting point is 00:50:18 we saw, the couples that exist, the scenarios that are happening, I want you two to name your top three couples that you think could make it to the end of the season from what you know right now. Golden and Youngen's including. This is tough, man. I don't know. That's why I asked it. I feel like Jess and Spencer will make it to the end. Will? I think they will. I think that Paradise is all about testing that connection, and I think their connection is strong, and it seems like they can make it to the end. I think Gary will be there.
Starting point is 00:50:59 I just can't tell who he's going to be there with. Leslie is my guess. Okay, Leslie. You're still into her. And then I would say third couple, it's up in the air for me at this point. Like, we'll see who comes in, you know, over the next few weeks,
Starting point is 00:51:16 but there might be a couple that we haven't, seen yet. I don't think anybody new comes in. I don't. Do you think we're done with entrances? I think you might be right because it seems as if it's shifting from like the are you finding people to now we're going into the competitive zone and we're
Starting point is 00:51:32 going to test those relationships. I don't think there's any new people. That's why I think this money thing completely changes paradise. That would make sense because I feel like this is a really big piece. This has never been done. Yeah. So it has to be Andrew and Alex. I mean, I think if we had to pick a third
Starting point is 00:51:48 couple there. I think we'd all agree Andrew and Alex would be there. So right now we have Spencer and Jesse, Gary and Leslie or somebody, Nancy, somebody else. And then we have Andrew and Alex which
Starting point is 00:52:04 this next week my prediction is Nancy Nancy doesn't go home. Nancy can't go home. Everybody wants Nancy. Yeah, I think Faith April and is it Natasha? Natasha.
Starting point is 00:52:22 Yeah. I think those three go home leaving us with the golden cast. And then when it comes to women, Jill's already left. Who else would go? Yeah, who else would go? Well, all I say is like with Kathy, oh, Kathy might go home because Keith might want to give his rose to Nancy because obviously he really wanted that.
Starting point is 00:52:46 now I understand that Nancy and Kathy are such good friends that Nancy didn't want to go there As far as the youngans though I think like the Jill it's going to be between Kat Since Jill left is it going to be between Kat and Alicia On who leaves I think so Yeah
Starting point is 00:53:05 Well I mean but who's Sean giving it to Sean's going to give it to Alicia To Alicia yeah Sean's probably going to give his rose to Alicia Are we evened out Are we getting evened out? Oh, Leah, Leah, but then Jonathan and Leah. She has no connection. Maybe Jonathan, but like...
Starting point is 00:53:26 Oh, but Jonathan has the rose, right? Yeah. So, yeah, now. I think Leah will probably exit stage left. Yeah, I think Leah's out. It's going to be an interesting ending to this season. Still ought to be seen. We're into it.
Starting point is 00:53:41 Let's be clear. Even though I'm not, like, completely down. with the edits and the transformation of Paradise. I am enjoying watching it. And I can't always say that for Paradise. I'm enjoying watching it. I'm enjoying watching the dynamics form out.
Starting point is 00:54:00 I wish there was more golden men. I want to see the Golden's stick around for the competitions, whatever they may be. They can't be physically too physical because you're asking, I mean, Kim, I had a heart attack just thinking about the row ceremony.
Starting point is 00:54:14 Like goodness, gracious. We got to keep these people in order. All right, you know what I really wanted? I wanted one of the really hot guys to be there for the Goldens. You know, like, let's be honest. These are all sweet guys, but like, we wanted a hot one. Who? Kelsey's dad or Jonathan.
Starting point is 00:54:31 Kelsey's dad's in a relationship. I know how his dad's in a relationship. No, Jonathan's not in a relationship anymore. Yeah. Maybe that was part of the problem and why we're so limited with the Goldens. Yeah. We've rooted for these guys to find love and they found it. And then we're like, come on.
Starting point is 00:54:45 Yeah. Come on. to wait till after Paradise. Before we leave, my final thought is if you guys remember when Jeremy was confiding in Brian with the mic scene and blah blah, Brian was like gun ho on revealing this news to Bailey. He was like, I don't feel right keeping this. And then in the teaser, Brian says he could turn Paradise upside down. Could it be that he's hinting at the conversation with Jeremy? because Jeremy and Bailey are getting further and further in and with the money prize,
Starting point is 00:55:21 Jeremy is trying to make that relationship go further than he would have ever intended. Yeah, I think that that's it. Yeah. Brian is going to mess everything up for those two. Interesting. Well, it would be even further interesting if they truly are in, on vacation together right now.
Starting point is 00:55:44 Yeah. Here's an interesting thing that just happened in Bachelor Nation. Sam McKinney just posted a picture of him holding Ali Joe from this season of Paradise closely at dinner and sharing a bunch of picture of them kissing. It looks like... They've hard launched. They are hard launching a relationship. Yeah, look at that. They look good.
Starting point is 00:56:10 We love a hard launch. We love a hard launch from Bachelor Nation. Oh, the captain. says sometimes you got to do it your damn self yeah good for him that's cute tajuan thank you for coming on uh we appreciate you again make sure you go to the instagram page if you are somebody looking um for any type of housing needs in the denver area uh you are a bachelor in paradise legend um as much as i'd love to say i wish you were there i don't think it's the same with you in air conditioning i love the heat that you brought to
Starting point is 00:56:46 We love a meltdown. We love a meltdown. It keeps us going here. It's how we've kept a job for 10 years. This has been the Almost Fier's podcast. This has been day nine of Paradise, meaning some of these couples have been dating for a week, which is awesome. Really, really great.
