Hey everyone, welcome to the almost famous podcast special episode because Amanda Stanton
is here giving us her first interview since announcing her pregnancy.
Hello, Amanda.
Hello.
Unfortunately, Ben can't be here today.
He's traveling.
So I thought we just have some girl talk, of course, about pregnancy and kids and all that.
So you and Michael, how long has it been since you got married?
I feel like your anniversary must be coming up.
our anniversary is in September so almost a year yeah it won't but the first year goes by so fast
so fast but every single one afterwards goes by just as fast because we just did four years can you
believe my anniversary four years ago no that's crazy insane time just flies I swear once you have
it's so crazy time goes faster it is got to be the kids thing so I know that I know that you
wanted you haven't announced what the gender is
sexes. And I won't tell you, I won't ask you now, unless you're wanting to give us an exclusive.
Not yet. It's funny. We found out a while ago. So we already did like a little gender reveal
just for like the family. And I'll probably announce next week. I'm so excited. You've kind of
been not so subtle that you do want a boy since you have the two girls. Kinsley and Charlie,
who I can't believe that they are 11 and 9. Wow. And that kids is in sixth grade.
she started middle school, which is so weird. I don't feel like I am old enough to have a middle
schooler. Like, it's, it's crazy. It is. I feel like you are like a young mom, but you're not like
that. You're like, you're 33. 33. Yeah. It's like not that weird. It's not that young. Yeah.
You're like young, of course. Yeah. It's not like weird. Right. Um, all right. So I know that you
kind of want a boy, but like I let you, I'm sure you'll be happy with either and that the girls, the girls,
Do they have a preference?
They honestly don't really care.
At first, Charlie wanted a sister.
Yeah.
And Kins wanted a brother.
I just think, like, I wouldn't be disappointed, like, if it were a girl.
But I think just already having two girls, having a boy would be so much fun.
And I feel like I've seen, like, all my friends have had boys.
So many.
And they're so cute.
And I feel like they're such mommy's boys.
Or mommy, yeah, mama's boys.
So that was kind of, and I honestly, I don't want to say too much, actually.
I'm like, you're getting nervous.
I'm going to give something away because I feel like everyone's already like a detective.
But that's awful.
I won't be disappointed either way.
So tell us the whole thing.
You were trying to have a baby, yes?
Yes and no.
So we originally were going to start trying like after one year anniversary in September.
But I really, really wanted to be pregnant by the end of the year.
so and I know like sometimes it can take a really long time and we just weren't sure so we're like
okay well maybe we just like start not being careful a little a little sooner so we stopped we started
like not being careful I want to say in like April May and it happened pretty shortly after that so
yeah congratulations thank you when I wasn't feeling good during my pregnancy I remember texting you
You were one of my few mom friends at the time.
And now I feel like there's more mom, more friends are becoming moms.
And you were like, I was quite awful, the first trimester, very sick.
How has it been this time around?
And especially now that you've taken like a nine year break.
Honestly, I was like, I had nausea with the girls.
But I never really like got sick, sick where I was like throwing up every day.
And honestly, this time I want to say like my pregnancy has been the exact same.
is both kins and char like same symptoms same cravings i like had a meat aversion with kins and
char like i couldn't eat any gross same same like i feel the exact same which is so weird
people say oh every pregnancy is different but i have not found that when talking to people
you know everybody most people say it's the same yeah if i was really sick like they're really
sick the second time and then if you're okay it's usually just like you're an okay
lady so good for everyone who's an okay prognant lady and i guess are you past that now now that you
i'm assuming like you're like four months yeah close to that close to four months ish um but yeah no i've
been feeling really good i feel like second trimester is the best i have so much energy i like forget
that i'm pregnant sometimes um but yeah it's great that's amazing i cannot relate
how are you guys preparing for the baby like is michael it's michael's first so is he excited
nervous? Does he know what kind of life changes ahead?
Did the girls kind of, do the girls given him training in parenting?
I feel like it's so interesting because he's never been around like a baby, baby before.
He doesn't have any experience with that.
But I think just like having the girls, even though they're older and they're more self-sufficient,
like he's, it's not going to be like that huge life change where like we're used to it just being
us and we can do whatever we want and all of a sudden, you know, like we're used to having
that responsibility.
So I think he's not nervous.
yet. But I also think he doesn't know what to expect where like I do. Like I know how the newborn
phase is and he has no idea. But he's generally like a lot calmer than I am. So I think he'll be
good. How do you imagine those few first months being, are you going to like split the time
waking up? Is he expecting to to switch off diaper duty and all that? Yeah. It's funny because
he is very particular with things in the house. Like even like doing the dishes or cooking.
Like I don't really cook or clean or do anything because even if I want to help and like do the dishes, he doesn't like the way I do the dishes.
Like he likes the way he does the dishes.
So I'm like, okay, that's fine.
And I feel like it's going to be the same with the baby.
Like he's going to want to have like he's going to want to change the diaper because he likes the way that he does it, which it's fine by me.
I'll probably get a lot more sleep this time around.
But I'm sure we'll take turns.
Are you guys planning on baby moon?
Because I know that you just spent a good amount of time in Hawaii.
And I know that I saw comments under some of your pictures that were like, just announced the baby already.
I didn't think that you were like showing or doing anything specific to pregnancy.
Did you?
Okay.
No.
And I thought it was so weird because so many people were like, you're pregnant, you're pregnant.
And I'm like, and I was.
And I'm just like, how do they know?
Like, I didn't feel like I looked pregnant or that I was posting anything like it.
So I was just so confused.
And I was, I mean, people started.
When I was like so early on and yeah, I mean, I'm curious as to like what I was doing that was like giving off this like pregnancy vibe.
But as far as the baby moon goes, I mean, I hope so.
I feel like I'm doing such like a weird time.
I'm doing January.
So it's like the holidays.
Yeah.
Like it's hard to really like even a baby shower.
I'm like I did one in like September or October.
I don't want to do it when I'm huge at the end.
And then the holidays are so hectic.
So we'll see.
if not maybe we'll do a little trip after the baby's born a few months later it's probably when
you need it most right i think so well okay so baby baby shower um what's the norm like did you
have one for charlie like because i know that most people will have it for the first but then
if you have such a gap in between your kids i think it's totally fine to have another one and if the
sex is different totally you could have another one right so i don't want to like assume anything
but like did you save this stuff from the girls do you have bassinets and such no and it's so funny too
because like everything i went to the like there's a baby list showroom in beverly hills right now where they
had like everything yeah it was so much fun um but i went there and i'm like none of this stuff
existed when i had kids and char like all the new like technology like the little socks they can
where that tracked the...
Loved that.
I loved it.
Yeah, it's like, it's crazy.
So I didn't have any of that stuff.
I mean, I remember, do you know, like what the bob stroller is?
It's like a jogging stroller.
Okay, yeah.
I don't have that, but I have the vista, the, you know, the upper baby.
See, that, like, that didn't exist when I, when I had them.
Like, everyone had, it was the bob.
And that's what, like, everyone had.
It was, like, the pool stroller at the time.
But I don't have it anymore.
And I had a baby shower for Kins.
I didn't have one.
for char this time i feel like i mean so much time has gone by and everything's so new so yeah you have
to have one we might yeah and especially just because like it's michael's first his mom's like so
excited she wants to do the whole baby shower thing so you probably will yeah yeah and now like
not to sound you know you know you're Amanda from the bachelor you know it's just like we have to
see your aesthetic baby shower oh my god wait speaking of it's kind of crazy like
How did you tell Jared that you were pregnant?
Okay.
Ooh, I love this story.
Okay, so like weird, weird details, but like my cycle was a little weird that month.
So we, I imagined that I had skipped my fertile window because it came earlier than expected.
And we had like one day where it would have worked.
Okay.
And it happened to have been the one day.
And I was like, just out of curiosity, when we were trying, I'd always take a pregnancy test.
And then this one time, there was like the faintest second line.
And I was like, that's, I was like, Jared, this is so crazy.
But like, there's a fake, there's a faint second line.
And he was like, you're not pregnant.
And, you know, this is after like seven months of trying.
And then we had like one day, right?
And then one day in the fertile window out of like the four fertile windows, guys,
four fertile days.
And then he was like,
we'll try again tomorrow.
And then the next day,
it was,
we were waiting for it and waiting for it.
And then there was like a blank test.
Like the screen after the whole like minute swirly,
it was blank.
And we were like,
okay,
well,
I guess we'll go back to CVS tomorrow.
And then we got one that one day.
And we just watched it together.
And we were like recording.
And he was like,
I'm not even going to look at the camera.
I'm going to keep playing my video game because you're so not pregnant.
And then I was like, Jared, look at this.
Yeah.
So we found out together.
How did you tell Michael?
Well, it's funny because I was going to say, like, I feel like now with like every single step, like people just go all out.
And it's so funny because I just, I guess I don't have the energy.
But like when I found out, people always asked me like, how did you tell Michael?
And I'm like, well, he was at work.
And my friend actually, it was like 6 o'clock in the morning.
She was like, I had a dream.
You were pregnant.
Yeah.
And I was like kind of the same as you.
I was like, that's so funny.
Like, you know, it's weird.
It's weird and dark because, you know, Jade lost the baby.
But I texted Jane about like two and a half months ago.
And I said, I had a dream.
You're pregnant.
You're pregnant, aren't you?
And she didn't respond to that.
So I like kind of think.
You know?
And she told me.
Yeah.
It's so crazy, though.
Like how I think some, some women just like, no.
But my friend was like, oh, I had a dream.
And I was like, you know.
like I'm not and she was like are you sure I was like yeah like almost like you know it was like early
in the morning I was probably a little grumpy and I was just like no like I'm not pregnant like so
anyways but why would you be so sure Amanda you were like being not careful I I had taken a test
before that like I was kind of off too where like I took a test a few days before yeah and it was
negative so I and I yeah and she's like she's like she's like she's like
just take a test and be sure because like I have this really weird feeling and like I've been
right about these things before just like take a test. So I went and I took a test. It was like
probably eight o'clock in the morning at this point. And like you, I saw like the tiniest faint
line. And so I just took a picture of it and I sent it to Michael at work. And I was like, is that
a line? It looks like a line. And he was like, I think so. So then I ended up like taking
three more tests. And it was so weird. I found out so early. So some of them did not have a line and
some of them did.
But that's like, I mean, how I told him.
Like, there wasn't any, like, cute way or anything special.
I just sent him a picture of the test at work.
I don't know how people can keep this secret.
Maybe for, like, you're, especially because it was his first child, like, maybe if you've
had, like, three kids, like, say the third.
Okay.
Maybe you can surprise him the third, but I don't know.
I had to have him in on, like, the curiosity.
Same.
And, like, ever since then, too, it's like, I tell him everything that's going on, like,
every little detail.
I'm like always texting him when he's at work.
I'm like, this is what's happening today.
So, yeah, there's really no surprises with us.

Imagine that you're on an airplane and all of a sudden you hear this.
Attention passengers.
The pilot is having an emergency and we need someone, anyone to land this plane.
Think you could do it?
It turns out that nearly 50% of men think that they could land the plane with the help of air traffic control.
And they're saying like, okay, pull this, do this, pull that, turn this.
It's just like, do it my eye.

or wherever you get your podcasts.
My name is Ed.
Everyone say, hello, Ed.
I'm from a very rural background myself.
My dad is a farmer and my mom is a cousin.
So, like, it's not like...
What do you get when a true crime producer
walks into a comedy club?
I know it sounds like the start of a bad joke,
but that really was my reality nine years ago.
I just normally do straight stand-up,
but this is a bit different.
On stage stood a comedian
with a story that no one expected to hear.
Well, 22nd of July 2015, a 23-year-old man had killed his family.
And then he came to my house.
So what do you get when a true crime producer walks into a comedy club?
A new podcast called Wisecrack, where stand-up comedy and murder takes center stage.
Available now.
Listen to Wisecrack on the IHeart Radio app.
Apple Podcasts or wherever you get your podcasts.
So let's talk about like your nausea and like your aversions because everybody
love, this is what people asked me when I was pregnant.
They're like, what are you craving?
And I'm like, listen to me.
I don't have cravings, guys.
I have things that I can eat, things that I feel like I'm okay eating.
So do you have cravings?
No, I don't have any cravings.
It was, I mean, same with the girls the first trimester.
I wanted, like, so much fruit.
I ate fruit all the time.
Good for you, because all I could have was cheese and plain pasta.
Like, it was just all the plain carbs and cheese.
Well, fruit and plain carbs for me, because I would make, like, sourdough toast with
butter and jam every day.
Okay.
It's like my favorite.
Like, I would literally eat that for dinner because that's all I could eat.
I couldn't do anything with me.
And honestly, I couldn't eat any vegetables.
I don't think I ate a single vegetable for, like, the first three months.
But a lot of fruit.
And then now I'm fine.
it's like the opposite. Now I just want like all the vegetables and like salads. I'm thankful that
that's what I want. Good for you. That's amazing. No weird cravings yet though.
Oh, that's so nice. Oh, how did you tell the girls? So for the girls, we made them like a little cake that
said big sisters. I posted a little video on my stories. I haven't posted on my actual page,
which I probably should have because it was so cute. But we made them a cake that said big sisters and we gave it to
them and they had no idea. I mean, they, they knew we had talked about, like, trying and they
knew they were going to get a baby brother or sister soon. But they didn't obviously know when
we started trying and all that. So they were super surprised and honestly, like, so confused at
first. They're like, big sisters. Like, what does that mean? And then obviously they figured
it out. And they're so excited. Oh, so adorable. Do you have like a birth plan right now?
because I like how was the delivery like what was your plan like how did it go with kins and char
and do you hope it goes the same or yeah I mean I was very lucky with them I feel like it went
it was easy I mean I got the epidural I was in labor for a really long time with both of them
but I had like fairly easy births with both of them so I'm kind of just hoping for the same
same thing again yeah yeah I did
I did a whole, I don't get a podcast episode last night with my dad about epidurals because I had
just heard so many women just did not wanting them.
And I was like, why is this like a thing?
Not that like I'm not, I'm supportive if either way you want.
It just is a little, it's so not me that like it makes me curious as to other people's mindsets
and all.
And when I asked them, my Instagram audience, I was like, do you have epidural questions?
like I can ask my dad because he's an anesthesiologist and like I had people like asking a lot of the same
stuff but like so many people are worried about them and it's just like the complications of them are
so, so infrequent. And yeah, I had a great pregnant. I had a great birth experience. After an awful
pregnancy, I was like, the delivery was a nice relief to just barely, you know, just feel just a little
bit of pressure. Right. Well, I mean, I'm still in like the easy part of pregnancy, but I always say like towards
the end, like it gets kind of brutal. Like you're ready. And I always say I'm like the birth. I mean,
for me, and I've been very lucky, but I'm like, I think birth is like the easy, the fun part.
I feel like being pregnant, especially like the last couple months. That is much harder, was harder for
me than like the actual labor experience. So I'm hoping for that again. But we were definitely both
lucky that everything went swimmingly. Yeah.
But with the epidural, yeah, I mean, I also think there's like, and this is just from people that I know who don't want it, there's like a level of like curiosity from like a mom being like I want to actually like experience what it feels like to give birth. I don't have that curiosity. I'm like I don't want to know. I've had enough like the hour and a half that I could feel the contractions. I was like that was plenty. And if it was supposed to get worse than that like abs of freaking lutely not. And then I'm not. And then. I know.
Another thing that I am just mind boggled by, but like I don't, I try not to, I don't mean it in like a
negative way. But like once you've had one birth that's unmedicated, I'm like, okay, well, you
experienced it. And then the second one, don't you just not want to feel it? That's actually like a good
question though that I would want to ask people. Like for people who had a natural birth the first
time, did you end up getting an epidural the second time? Or did you like, did you do it again?
I think a lot do it again. I think maybe there's just some high.
they get and like a power you know that they feel like they can conquer anything and they're
going to do it all over again right yeah I mean pro props and bravo to them they are stronger women than
I honestly I was like pushing the button the whole time I was like give me more they didn't give me
the button I was like dad why don't you guys have the button at fairfax and he's like it's just
not in our practice but like whenever you'd ask for more they'd give you more right
It's so funny.
Yeah.
All right.
So let's move on a little bit from the pregnancy and talk about your fam.
You went to Taylor Swift.
You went to like so many Taylor Swift concerts.
I'm, you know, Graham's.
That's also good for you.
Like, which one did you do?
Is there a certain night that was the best for me watching you take the girls to the
one in Tampa was really fun to watch on Instagram?
That was my favorite one.
That was my favorite night.
And it's so funny.
I was lucky.
I got to go with a couple brands when I was in L.A., but I had,
Charlie is, like, the biggest Taylor Swift fan in the entire world, like,
obsessed, like, her and her friends at school, like, they just are obsessed with Taylor.
So I had to take her in L.A., but then I ended up going with a couple brands.
So I ended up going three times in L.A.
No way.
Yeah.
But, yeah, I think Tampa was probably my favorite night because they had both the girls,
and we just had so much fun.
And then I went, yeah, three times in L.A., which was fun, but it, like, was kind of a lot.
yeah that was did it feel like any different every night i mean yes and no because i was with different
people i went with like friends one night went with my sister one night which was like so fun because
me and my sister like i love taylor forever and then i went with charlie um the third time so
it's like different every time so cute and you you let her say um f the patriarchy which you
document on instagram but you say that like you allow her to kind of quote it in the song but like
you would never let her say it in conversation, right?
Yeah, like I also let her say like, one, two, three, let's go, bitch, which everyone says at
the Taylor concerts.
But, you know, like, and I've said this before in like a Q&A and I'm like, if my kids, like,
grow up and they curse, like, they don't really care that much.
Like, I curse.
Like, I know.
It's fine, right?
I mean, as long as they like aren't cursing at people and obviously now, like, they're so young,
like, there's no reason for them.
They don't, they don't curse.
But it's not the worst thing in the world to me, honestly.
I think that you said something on your Instagram story that I've always felt,
my sister says it all the time.
She's like,
like,
it's just a word.
And as long as it's not like directed at somebody in a really negative,
awful yucky connotation,
like if you stub your toe and say shit,
it's not a big deal in my house and in my personal opinion.
But like I also totally respect other families that don't want to set at all.
Totally.
And that's just like how I am with them.
Like if I teach them that like cursing so bad and they get older,
and see that, like, everyone does it.
Like, I'd rather teach them, like, the things that I believe are bad or bad,
and cursing's not that bad.
So, yeah, yeah.
Okay, so what are you and Michael doing, like, how do you,
just tell us about your life, you know, like, the girls are with you.
Is it 50% of the time, or is it on weekends they go to their dads?
Like, just, like, paint a week in Amanda Stanton's life for us.
So, we have their kids, like, pretty much all the time these days,
which is great.
But yeah, I mean, it's now that the girls are back in school,
Michael goes to work, it's crazy because he moved down to Orange County
like a little before we got married and he still works in L.A.
So he commutes like two days a week.
Yeah, that's a lot.
And he travels a lot.
But yeah, I mean, we have the kids a majority of the time.
They are in so many like activities and stuff now.
It's so different because I feel like the newborn phase is so hard.
and it gets easier in certain ways but when they get older just be prepared to be like a human
taxi cab because that's how I spend a majority of my days driving them to tennis and golf and
dance and all these different things um so that's pretty much my life these days honestly it's just
driving the kids around which I don't mind I love it no and that's that sounds pretty good to me
what kind of music do they like like what do you listen to in a car with them besides Taylor
Charlie is like strictly Taylor Swift.
Kins likes, she likes everything.
She likes country.
She likes, who is the guy that she likes?
It's like so funny to me.

Imagine that you're on an airplane and all of a sudden you hear.
this. Attention passengers, the pilot is having an emergency and we need someone, anyone to land this plane.
Think you could do it? It turns out that nearly 50% of men think that they could land the plane
with the help of air traffic control. And they're saying like, okay, pull this, do this, pull that,
turn this. It's just, I can do it my eyes close. I'm Manny. I'm Noah. This is Devin. And on our
new show, no such thing, we get to the bottom of questions like these.
Join us as we talk to the leading expert on overconfidence.
Those who lack expertise lack the expertise they need to recognize that they lack expertise.
And then as we try the whole thing out for real.
Wait, what?
Oh, that's the run right.
I'm looking at this thing.
See?

Hey, sis.
What if I could promise you you never had to listen to a condescending finance bro,
tell you how to manage your money again.
Welcome to Brown Ambition.
This is the hard part when you pay down those credit cards.
If you haven't gotten to the bottom of why you were racking up credit or turning to credit cards,
you may just recreate the same problem a year from now.
When you do feel like you are bleeding from these high interest rates,
I would start shopping for a debt consolidation loan,
starting with your local credit union, shopping around online,
looking for some online lenders because they tend to have fewer fees and be more affordable.
Listen, I am not here to joke.
It is so expensive in these streets.
I 100% can see how in just a few months
you can have this much credit card debt
and it weighs on you.
It's really easy to just like stick your head in the sand.
It's nice and dark in the sand.
Even if it's scary, it's not going to go away
just because you're avoiding it.
And in fact, it may get even worse.

How's the new Bernie's mountain dog?
He's good.
He's so sweet.
He's going through like his little teenager phase right now.
He just turned one.
But he's like the sweetest cuddliest thing ever.
He like, his thing is like he always leans on us.
So like if we're standing around in the kitchen or something, he comes up and he just leans on us and it's the sweetest thing ever.
But we love him.
He's so cute.
What's his name?
Moose.
Moose.
Yeah.
Those dogs are just like so amazing.
Oh, why is their life?
being so short. It's so sad. I mean, and that's something I think like everyone knows before you get
them. But they're, I mean, they have to have one of the shortest lifespans of like any dog breed.
But they're so cute. Like they're, like, six to eight years. And they're, you wouldn't think so.
You know, they have like the body of a golden retriever, maybe a little bit bigger than that.
Usually a little bigger. Moose is like on the smaller side. I want to say he's like,
he's kind of built like a golden retriever. So I'm hoping a lot of the health problems that a lot of them have.
because they're so big.
I think, like, their hearts are too small for their bodies.
So I'm hoping that, like, because he's smaller, maybe he'll live longer.
I don't know.
It makes me so sad to think about it.
I don't want to, like, I know it's not as a source subject because you just talked
about on Instagram the other day because people are asking you about George,
the Golden Retriever all the time, saying that he lives with Michael's family.
Yes.
So George was actually, I'll talk about it again, but George was actually,
Michael's mom's dog
his aunt got his mom
George is a birthday gift
and they used to live in New York
and they moved to California
so anyway somewhere along
in that time Michael
took George while they were moving and all that
and just like kind of never gave him back and kind of just
kept him
but long story short
and I'll explain to after this but
they another one of their dogs passed
and Marie wanted
Michael's mom wanted George back.
So we gave George back
and people just
looked out over it.
And for a while I didn't feel comfortable
because you know how it is.
It's fine if I want to tell people what's going on with me.
But when it involves like Michael and his mom,
I didn't want to go on Instagram for all my followers
and be like, this is what's going on.
And it was really tough.
We were like, we still are very sad.
I mean, it's having George here, but we still get to see him.
But it took me a while to kind of address it
on social media.
I feel like just no one believed me.
I don't know why.
Like, people keep saying it's not true.
And I'm like, it is true.
Like, it's probably because you didn't say it earlier.
Do you know what I mean?
Like, I think if you were to warm people, then people wouldn't come and be like so
nosy about it if you were just like, oh, hey, by the way.
I don't know.
It's so strange, though.
But like, there has been a good amount of people that are like, oh, we schooled back
on Michael's Instagram and we saw that like you're telling the truth.
And, like, it was Michael's mom's dog.
Because I think if you scroll back on Michael's Instagram,
you can see when his mom got George.
Oh.
And anyways, obviously it's the truth.
And that's what happened.
But yeah, it's turned into like this whole thing.
Probably has to do with timing too,
because like George was always around when you guys were dating.
And then he probably had him, you know,
he'd just gotten him probably.
But then you guys first started dating and then you get married and then
there's a new dog and all that.
totally yeah um but yeah that's what happened and yeah i mean i i told this story i think
i want to say like six months ago but it's just like continued to be a thing and i get so
annoyed sometimes but it's okay i understand like most people i think are just curious so
i know they're both such cuties did they get along they're so cute yeah they do and his parents live
in L.A., so we still get to see George all the time, which is nice.
Well, that's good.
And if, you know, the other dog died, then that's sad that she needed another dog back, you know.
Yeah.
And George is, like, her favorite.
She's obsessed with him.
So it all worked out.
George is really happy.
Oh, good.
Yeah.
What is your favorite thing to watch Michael do with the girls?
And, like, what do you look forward to seeing him do with your future child?
It's really cute because.
And I think this is like one of my favorite parts of being a mom is like showing your kids like all the stuff that you like to do when you were a kid.
Yes. I've been doing that lately. It's awesome. It's so fun. So he like grew up skiing and loves to ski and he loves to golf. And so he's like gotten the kids in on like his hobbies. Like we went to Aspen last winter and he taught them how to ski. And he's just like so cute. You could just tell it like makes him so happy to like teach the kids out of ski. So I'm excited. We're like the new baby. I'm sure.
it's going to be on skis when it's like one.
But skiing and golfing and just like all that kind of stuff.
He's like so good with the girls.
I'm excited.
So cute.
Now I think I know the answer to this question.
Your favorite thing to do with Michael is stay home and snuggle and watch TV.
I remember wrong?
Yes.
We're the biggest home bodies ever.
We don't leave the house unless we have to.
We like stay home.
We cook.
We watch TV.
We like play Mario Kart.
We're the biggest nerds ever.
And when you do go out, what do you do?
What's your favorite thing to do with them?
Um, we usually just, we're so boring.
Oh my God.
It's so sad.
Just like dinner in a movie.
Yeah, we just like go to dinner.
Yeah, that's us too.
Same.
Yeah.
The girls.
Like, how do you see them taking care of the new baby?
Are you going to allow them to babysit?
Like, with you out of the house?
Not yet.
I am like, I'm like, I'm so crazy.
I don't even let the girls.
Like, kids is 11 and almost 12.
Yeah.
So maybe 13.
Maybe like 13.
14. But I know like already they're so excited. Like I went in Ken's room the other day and like she
already has like the baby carrier like she keeps sneaking it in her room because I think she's like
trying it on. So I bet you I'm not even going to be able to hold the baby. They're going to want
it all the time. But yeah, they're so excited. You're going to get a lot of help which is so,
so nice. That's the that's definitely one of the assets of having that age difference. Yeah. They've already
told me they're like we're going to hold the baby we're going to walk i keep almost saying like
him or her so i have to be so careful when i speak well what kind of announcement do you have next
week is like they're this big instagram creative no do you want to know i literally have no idea
so just spill it here on the almost i need to come up with something um but they're like
we'll walk the baby we'll hold it but like when we're not changing a diaper and i'm like yeah you are
we're going to teach you how to change a diaper. So hopefully I'll have some help with that too.
Definitely. You're definitely going to have help. It's going to be so nice. Oh, yeah.
Okay. Last question, names. Know that you were going through it on Instagram the other day.
You had a list that you and Michael had kind of come up with throughout the year, but those that you revealed were all scratched off the list.
They're ones you like, but they're not ones that you're married to. So how long is the married to list? Have we set the name?
We do have a name. It's a name.
even before I was pregnant, we, like, both really liked this name.
Okay.
And we ended up going with it.
Um, and it just kind of stuck.
So we do have a name.
And then I feel like it's hard, though, like, you know, you pick a name from the
beginning and you start calling the baby by the name, like, during your pregnancy.
So even if we like found another name, because we, we didn't want to like solidify the
decision, but it's kind of just happened.
So, yes, we have a name.
I have to say that while I did refer to Dawson,
as Dawson while he was in uterole.
Then you can't change it after that.
It's still, I wasn't going to, but it still, like, made me feel weird to, like,
refer to something in my body by name.
Like, is that weird?
Like, I was like, I, like, I said him, you know, and all that.
And I would say Dawson sometimes, but it was just like, until you meet them,
it's like, it is, it is like, I don't know.
It's so weird.
Wait, and I have a question too.
When do you, like, when did it start feeling like, oh, there's actually a baby
in there because I can't really feel the baby like moving yet. Sometimes I think I feel it, but
I'm not sure. It was 20 weeks. Maybe I felt a flutter. I'm close to that. And I was like, was that just like
my stomach gurgling or was that, you know, like a little big kick. And I think that really was a kick
because within that week I started to feel a little bit more. But yeah, it's basically between 18 and 20 weeks.
But, you know, I knew there was a baby.
and they're torturing me from them.
Right.
From the beginning.
Six.
So funny.
But now I look at Dawson and I'm just like, well, your face, like, I know why you made me so sick.
Just like you just sucked everything out of me.
And it's okay.
Like, it's all worth it.
It really is all worth it.
Even though when they're telling you that it's all worth it when you're suffering, it doesn't
make you feel better.
No.
And they're going to say that to me, I'm sure, again, at some point, hopefully soon.
And I'll be like, yeah.
Yeah, I know, but those words still don't come for me.
Dawson is so cute.
You said you're going to start trying again soon?
Yeah, very soon.
Do you want to avoid another boy, girl?
It's weird.
I mean, I was so, I had such gender disappointment with Dawson.
I had a feeling it was going to be a boy, but I think there was just like that to me,
that like loss of, I, one, I don't think that I'd ever really consider three, especially
when I was feeling, I was already feeling so sick when we found out.
was a boy so i was like i'm not doing this three times more we're going to do it twice so i think for me
it was like oh i'm not going to have like the sister sister bond that you have with your sister
and that kins and char have so like that was really sad for me it didn't last very long and then
i'm just thinking like oh like if i don't have a girl after this then like who am i going to go
it bring to taylor swift concerts and bring to boy band concerts and like go to the american
girl ball store with and now that i have a boy i really i know it sounds like oh she's just saying
that like I really don't care as much. I'd be happy if they had a boy too because then I'd want
them to have that hopefully brother bond. Yeah, exactly. Having two of like the same sex is so much
fun. Yeah. They're little besties. Totally. Especially girls. I feel like girls become more besties
than boys become besties. But I don't really know. They also fight a lot. So the girls fight a lot.
Oh yeah. Yeah. Like every day. Clothes everything. Constant fighting that they love each other.
Yeah, so nice. All right, Amanda, thanks so much for joining us. The next time we talk to you will probably be post-baby. So I hope it goes as smoothly as it did last time. And the rest of your pregnancy is also as awesome as it is right now. Perfect. Thank you so much. Thank you. Bye.
