I just normally do straight stand-up, but this is a bit different.
What do you get when a true crime producer walks into a comedy club?
Answer, a new podcast called Wisecrack, where a comedian finds himself at the center of a chilling true crime story.
Does anyone know what show they've come to see?
It's a story.
It's about the scariest night of my life.
This is Wisecrack, available now.

This is the Almost Famous Podcast with IHeart Radio.
Welcome Chris Souls to the Almost Famous OG podcast.
My on already?
I'm live?
We are live.
That's what happened.
You know you're an OG when you're like, wait, is this thing working?
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
I don't know I have the camera facing frontwards or outwards.
No, you're great.
You're great.
It really, truly has been so long.
I feel like it was when Lauren and Ben were together.
Yeah.
And all three of you came.
I don't think anyone else was with you,
but the three of you came to the house.
And Blake's Lee, my daughter was like just in awe of Lauren showing her all her stuffed animals.
I don't know if you remember that.
It was so cute.
Yes, I do.
Oh, my gosh.
So how is life?
How are you?
Good.
Good.
Yeah, just busy.
We're in harvest season.
So, yeah, I've got a lot of irons in the fire.
We're doing well.
I bet.
Are you in, is it Iowa?
Yeah.
Yeah.
Okay.
So you just went back to farming.
Like, I love that.
Have they ever asked you to be on that farmer show?
Yeah.
I think they have.
They have?
I mean, they were sort of reached out to, I think.
And I noticed in my DMs, they reached out just to have me go through casting or something.
But no, I, not directly, but I've been, yeah.
No more of that, no more reality shows.
No, I don't, I'm not super motivated to, you know, it's all right.
I'm doing good.
Real life is all right.
It's tough enough.
So.
I mean, like stuff, you're so right.
Yeah.
Agreed.
I think we're the same, you know, like we've been.
asked over the years, you know, to do reality shows.
And we're like, yeah, you know, we're good.
We're good.
We're just going to.
Yeah.
We'll do a podcast every now and then, but.
Right.
It's a little more palatable.
Yeah.
I mean, I, yeah.
No, I'm, my life is like a reality television show in itself, I think, some days.
So I have, I'm, I'm, yeah, but keeping the wheels on the bus with everything that I've got
going on is, yeah, it's great.
So okay. So the big question, are you dating? Are you single? I am single. Correct. Yeah. Definitely
single. Yeah, I'm definitely single. And looking to not be single? Of course, I'm always looking to not be single. In due time, you know, I think it's a on God's plan, you know? Yeah. I'm, I've been going through a lot of transitioning.
things with work and with business and so I've been focusing a lot on that
you know currently and but yeah I'm always the goal is not to be single for the
rest of my life so hopefully we can make that happen sooner than I mean like you
said God's plan and I believe everything happens for a reason it'll happen when it's
supposed to right yeah that's kind of where I'm at good I love hearing that okay so we
share something else besides the Bachelor in common dancing with the stars and um have you been
watching this season because we've been recapping every week so I'd love to get your thoughts on that
if you're up for it yeah I was able to watch last night I'm a little behind but I was able to watch
last night and um yeah boy I'm impressed with so many good dancers and and Joey and Jen are just
like Joey we're in the hell
I mean that's pretty impressive
yes I love it this season
I have taken breaks here and there
off and on and I have to say
I really truly believe this is such a talented
cast I don't know how they're gonna cut it down
I mean obviously they have like
yeah like the votes and that's very black and white
you know but um i would hate to be a judge yeah no i i uh i agree it's fun to it was fun to watch
i'm excited to continue watching it's um there's some real talent out there so are you still in touch
with whitney yeah you know i mean we we stay in touch via social media and and uh i mean
i hope you know i like to try to get out there once in a while and see everybody i mean as
you know it kind of becomes a little small family out there so yeah um love
her to death we don't we don't talk a ton obviously we don't have a she doesn't you know
it's not a lot to talk about i'm not much of a dancer anymore and she's not much of a farmer so
we don't have a ton of things in common but i'd love her to death uh like a little sister but
yeah i try to stay in touch i love her i think she is she's one of my all-time like favorite
pros her and jena um who's with joey i just um
They are just so much fun to watch and she is looking so freaking hot right now.
It is like the body after baby.
Oh my gosh.
Like it is amazing to me.
She definitely is, I just love watching her.
Would you go back on the show if they asked you to do like an all-star season?
Yeah.
You would?
My mind would do it in a heartbeat.
I don't know what my body would say about it, but I would be in.
I might have to carry out on a stretcher and head the quarter zone on standby,
but I would definitely do my best.
I'd be looking more like, oh, probably with looking like a different version of myself,
but I've got old football player injuries, they're starting to creep up on me.
but um oh believe me i get it things but yeah now i would that was one of the greatest
experiences i've ever had being on that oh i love that what did you what where did you finish
i think sixth or fifth fifth i was above 500 i remember because there was 12 and i was i was
a fifth Robert herzjevic finished right behind me i have always said that i finished six
because um on our show there were only six people and i was the first voted off
there were only six on your people there were only six of us yeah it was the first season so you know
they they didn't know if it was going to be something that people would be interested in watching
in america you know it was overseas it was very popular which is where it came from but um
but yeah they only had six people so i almost tied you
you did basically you did that's i had no idea that you were the first
on the first season that's amazing you're such an icon trista oh yeah i know a legend no thank you're very sweet um
i i feel like i got a call from andrea wang who um was an a bc exec for like they're unscripted
um and when you get a call from andrea wong you listen and you say yes ma'am
And so I felt like she was like, okay, we're going to do this show.
And I was like, okay.
I have no idea what I'm getting into.
No explanation.
They're just like, yeah, you're going to go.
No, of course, she explained it.
Yes.
But I was just kind of like, okay, whatever.
Like, at that point, the ballroom was not very popular, at least in my circles in the United States.
I knew so little about ballroom dancing.
And I just thought, okay, wow.
I mean, I love to dance, but let's see how this goes.
So I'm just glad they are still on the air.
It's just crazy to me that it has evolved like this.
Yeah.
I mean, it's doing really well still.
I mean, like it's going to, it's like the all-time most watched reality show ever,
isn't it at this point?
Is it?
I did not know that.
Well, don't take, don't quote me on that.
but it's one of the longest running.
I think it's the longest running reality television show.
Should Google that one before I say it out loud.
Yeah, Hannah, can you Google that?
Is it the longest running?
I don't think it's the longest running.
The Bachelor was longer than it.
Or maybe the most part.
I don't know.
Oh, but you're right.
Like, if it's international, then yes, you very well.
Like, I think they called it, what was it called in the UK?
Um, simply gone, something dancing, simply ballroom maybe or, oh, Hannah,
Hana is good at this stuff.
When I ask her a question, she's like, I love it.
I love it.
Um, okay, so if they do have an all-star season and they ask you, who would you want to be
partnered with?
Well, that would be, have to be Whitney if that, if she was an option.
I mean, that would be my request, but.
Okay, good.
Yes.
Yeah.
Love that.
But yeah, I don't know if you felt this way.
When I was on Dancing with the Stars, and yes, it was brand new.
So it had never been done before.
I didn't know what to expect.
But it was hard for me to get into, like, feeling comfortable with, like, being, like, sensual with someone I didn't know.
Did you have, like, as a guy, do you guys have feelings like that?
like this is uncomfortable or you're like yeah i'm here for it you know it's a great question i
honestly it was so hard you know for me physically and like mentally i couldn't think about
being anything but you know what my next step was what how to count into the music i mean yeah
i had so much other stuff on my mind to worry about let it said sensuality was like the
you're like whatever
I'm like I'm just
frightened I was literally
like horrified the entire time
just uh it was super stressful
so there was nothing sensual
about the way I was out when I was
like it was like just don't look like an idiot
oh right oh yeah I think all of us
have that um sorry my daughter's trying to call
all of us have that thought like
don't look like an idiot please
don't forget your stuff
don't forget the music and try not to count to the music while you're I mean I
my biggest struggle was I've never really done anything with musicality you know I've
never organized musicality or with like I've never I took one class a band class and
I walk you know that was it for me I couldn't had no interest and it just never had any of
that to to count music so it was super super tough so I mean then let alone doing the steps
and the same time as trying to stay with the music.
I mean, I can have enough rhythm to follow music naturally,
but counting it is a whole different learning curve
for a person with a very low IQ.
Yeah, no, I totally understand that.
It's like a job for these professionals, you know.
They have spent their life training for it.
So I totally understand that.
If you have never had to count music or remember choreography,
it's it's not easy it is not easy um and then you throw in the live live show of it all
and the people who are in the audience like staring you down you know um it's hard and then the
judge is and all of it um who who is your favorite right now i know you watched last night
but maybe we're playing catch up who do you if you had to pick a final three right now who would be
your final three you know i
Huh. Joey was pretty impressive.
Yeah. He was. He crushed it last night. And he has been crushing it every week.
Yeah. The guy can move. And he's got a great following.
Yeah. So, and I think Jen was awesome, too. I think she'll go far.
And then I'm not going to, the blonde gal, she was really good, too.
I mean, there's just a handful. I mean, I don't know.
I've just, I haven't watched enough, but that, those would be, you know, that off the top of my head, Jen and, I think Jen and Joey will be the part of the top three, I would say.
I love it.

you hear this. Attention passengers. The pilot is having an emergency and we need someone, anyone, to land this plane.
Think you could do it?
It turns out that nearly 50% of men think that they could land the plane with the help of air traffic control.
And they're saying like, okay, pull this, until this.
Do this, pull that, turn this.
It's just, I can do it my eyes close.
I'm Manny.
I'm Noah.
This is Devin.
And on our new show, no such thing.
We get to the bottom of questions like these.
Join us as we talk to the leading expert on overconfidence.
Those who lack expertise lack the expertise they need to recognize.
so they lack expertise.
And then, as we try the whole thing out for real,
wait, what?
Oh, that's the runway.
I'm looking at this thing.

Most everything was burned up pretty good from the fire that not a whole lot was salvageable.
These are the coldest of cold cases, but everything is about to change.
Every case that is a cold case that has DNA right now in a backlog will be identified in our lifetime.
A small lab in Texas is cracking the code on DNA.
Using new scientific tools, they're finding clues in evidence so tiny you might just miss it.

The Super Secret Bestie Club podcast season four is here.
And we're locked in.
That means more juicy cheesement.
Terrible love advice.
Evil spells to cast on your ex.
No, no, no, no, we're not doing that this season.
Oh, well, this season, we're leveling up.
Each episode will feature a special bestie, and you're not going to want to miss it.
Get in here!
Today we have a very special guest with us.
Our new super secret bestie is The diva of the people.
The diva of the people.
I'm just like, text your ex.
My theory is that if you need to figure out that the stove is hot, go and touch it.
Go and figure it out for yourself.
Okay.
That's us.
Where is that?
That's us.
My name is Curley.
And I'm Maya.
In each episode, we'll talk about love, friendship, heart breaks, men, and, of course, our favorite secrets.
Listen to the Super Secret Bestie Club as a part of the Michael Tura podcast network available on the IHeartRadio app, Apple Podcast, or wherever you get your podcast.
Okay, so have you talked to anyone from Bachelor Nation lately?
Do you stay in touch with anybody?
you know stay in touch just kind of nothing i've been super busy so it's been you know with harvest
coming on we've been uh just drowning and and getting a lot of doing a lot of restructuring internally
so um i know my blue pal who just recently got engaged okay cool i didn't know that
yeah yeah um so was he on your
The season of, gosh, like, how do you know him from your seasons or from just meeting him?
We just crossed paths through, um, through doing, actually, through Amy, honestly, that was.
Oh, I love it.
Yeah, that's how we, I met him.
Um, but yeah, we know, we were not on any shows together at all.
So we just literally crossed paths.
I think the first time we met might have been in Lake Tahoe on.
Oh, yeah.
All those tricks are so fun.
Yeah.
Love those.
So, yeah.
Now, him and I share a lot in common.
Just, he kind of is a country boy from Texas and I have a lot of similarities on, you know, our upbringing.
So.
Love it.
Yeah.
But, no, I mean, I try to stay in touch, but just haven't.
Not on a huge regular basis.
I'm just running in a million different directions.
Life is busy.
What about Ben Higgins?
Have you talked to him lately?
I haven't.
haven't. I mean, the last, I feel like we've talked. It was at Nick's wedding. All the guys were there
this last summer at Nick's wedding. So yeah, I saw a bunch of, a bunch of people there. And I don't
know. Again, my memory is so bad, Trista. It's like, yeah, yeah. I get it. I feel like we talk,
but we just, you know, it's like everything passes by. But I think that was the last time I saw a bunch
of people. So I kind of reached out to Nick here, um, not too long ago. Um,
I was in Chicago and reached out to him.
And so, yeah, just here and there.
They're all in my heart, you know, in my mind.
Yeah, of course.
So are you going to keep watching Dancing with the Stars?
Yeah, I might have to.
I'm going to have to, DVR or something.
I recorded it last night so I could, I got a recording.
So now I can, if I get home late, I can tune in.
You can have something to do other than harvest.
Yeah. Are you an avid fan? Do you stay on top of it?
I have not been, but this season, I am. I mean, we're recapping it every week.
So I, you know, have a reason other than just wanting to, like, escape my own life and watch something fun on television.
But, yeah, I will be watching. It has totally drawn me in. I feel like there is such talent.
You know, Bob and I will talk. So we'll recap the episodes.
And we talk about, like, who we think is the top, you know, who we think is maybe the bottom.
But I feel like there's so many people in the middle, like Stephen and Thedra and Alona and Brooks
and like all these people who are so great.
Their partnerships are incredible.
They are being vulnerable, like Alona last night about how she was, you know, she had a hard time with.
how she made you know some mistakes in her routine and like I love how vulnerable she was like
there are so many people in like that middle range where you're not saying oh they're definitely
going to the finale you know um that I want to room for because they're they all they all
are bringing so much to the table whether it's dance ability or or chemistry or vulnerability
or just like getting to know them you know like I I don't know I'm loving this
season it is great you know the show just in general is great i mean it brings out such
i mean after they're eliminated the emotion i mean i felt such emotion when i was eliminated like
it just changes uh you you you know it's really an a great experience and and then just
it's such a foreign uh experience to even celebrities that have been acting and all that stuff
and just to see people really work hard that really aren't that good like i wasn't that good
and but you get out there and you freaking do it you know it just do it it's cool you know it's just
a neat neat show it's it um makes me miss being out there do you ever get do you get back i have only
i went back for i feel like it was before any other people from the bachelor went on the show so
it was like the hundredth episode that i went back for and it was forever ago um so i haven't in so long
My daughter is actually, so we went to the Golden Wedding with Gary and Teresa.
I took my whole family there and we met or I introduced her to Robert Mills,
Millsy, who's an ABC exec.
And we started talking about Dancing on the Stars and I'm like, you know, I've got a dancer
right here that, you know, she would love to be on Dancing with the Stars juniors if you
ever do it again.
I mean, how much as a mom, like it would be.
be such a full circle fun moment for me to have my daughter be on the show. But yeah, I,
I love it. I love, I love the experiential things in life, you know, that we've both been very
lucky. I feel like that we've gotten to do some pretty cool things in terms of like once in a
lifetime, like that not everyone gets to do. And it does not fall short on me. I'm very grateful for
the bachelor, you know, casting me originally and then the bachelorette and then dancing with
the stars and, you know, lots of other fun stuff. But definitely feel very grateful.
Yeah. No, it was such a great experience. I mean, it was like going from the bachelor to
dancing with the stars was like, you know, such a reverse of, like, it's such a different
experience in so many ways. Just, it was kind of a refreshing experience for me.
just being able to, you know, the competitiveness of it and it's emotional and competitive.
At the same time, it's like, you know, as an athlete, I've embraced the competitive side,
but then, you know, going out, I've never been in front of a live audience like that.
That was your first performance.
I mean, that was like, oh.
I know. Yeah, you're so great.
Do you feel like that was the hardest part of the show, the live audience for you?
It really kind of, you know, because you rehearse, for me, it was one of the hardest parts.
My first performance especially, first and second, I still didn't, I couldn't get accustomed to it.
I mean, it was all hard.
I mean, the dancing was super hard.
And then you layer in, you know, you perform in a quiet space for, you know, for two, for a week at a time.
And then you have to jump in and then they throw you into a little tiny room with, you know, three levels of people.
that are screaming and yelling.
And you can't, I, you know, like, I couldn't even hear the music sometimes, you know.
Right.
Or it was just so much going on in my head.
But, yeah, that it was all super hard.
And then that that was just like another nail in the coffin for me that, uh, but towards the end,
you started to get accustomed to it.
But, um, but just bond to put yourself out there and sink or swim.
Yeah, you're right.
It is part of like the hardest part of it and kind of the most fun.
part of it is just doing something out of your comfort zone, you know, doing something that you
never thought you would be doing. So, you know, kudos. Hopefully, though, I don't think I'll be
being asked to be all-stars if they ever do an all-stars. Just because, gosh, I mean, like you
were talking about injuries, I remember being on the show and complaining about my back, like,
we had this big dick. And I was like, oh, I can't do that. And,
about 10 years later, I ended up having a fusion in my back because it's so bad.
But yeah, just as you get older, I mean, it's just what happens.
We all kind of fall apart.
Time is a new thing.
I just don't know if I could keep up.
But I do give kudos to the people like Eric and Reggie, who Reginald who got out there and tried their best.
And, you know, their best wasn't as good as chance.
or joey's but um i love that they just gave it a shot you know no it's super cool to to uh to see
people and then you know just really give their all and they're physically just can't quite do it but man
it's uh it's hard to like you know without having done it like if you know after doing it and then
watching them out there i mean it sort of still looks they still make it look so easy you know
if you don't he'd never done it before yeah it's like a whole you know that all that stuff for me
it was super hard um and it was you know but yeah just remembering all that stuff regardless of your
athletic ability it's just uh just tough but um such a mental and emotional challenge yeah it's a
lot um i yeah i i i feel like they like you said they make it look easy and it's because they've been
practicing, you know, for hours and hours and hours, but they do make it look easy.
I love watching.
And I'm so glad this has kind of brought me back to it because I hadn't watched in like a
couple of years.
So since Caitlin's season, I tuned in for that, of course.
But yeah, it's a great show.
I love that it's getting me to be able to talk to you again, too.
Yeah, you know, absolutely.
absolutely no it was a pleasant surprise when they asked me to come on it was great to
grateful for the opportunity so nice to see and hear from you well I know that Bob would
have loved to be here and so he says hello but thank you so much for coming on the
almost famous OG podcast and I'm sure we'll be calling you again so hopefully
want to chat again all right well you take care tell Bob I said hi and God bless
Thank you.
Good luck with Harvest.
Yes.
Thank you.
If that's what you say.
Is that what you say?
Like, what do you say?
That is, that works.
We need all the luck we can get.
We need all of the luck we can get.
Good luck, then.

Thank you.
