This is an I-Heart podcast.
I'm Robert Smith, and this is Jacob Goldstein, and we used to host a show called Planet Money.
And now we're back making this new podcast called Business History, about the best ideas and people and businesses in history.
And some of the worst people, horrible ideas, and destructive companies in the history of business.
First episode, how Southwest Airlines use cheap seats and free whiskey to fight its way into the airline is.
The most Texas story ever.

What up, y'all?
It's your boy, Kevin on stage.
I want to tell you about my new podcast called Not My Best Moment, where I talk to artists, athletes, entertainers, creators, friends, people I admire who had massive success about their massive failures.
What did they mess up on?
What is their heartbreak?
And what did they learn from it?
I got judged horribly.
The judges were like, you're trash.
I don't know how you got on the show.
Check out Not My Best Moment with me kept on stage on the I Heart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, YouTube, or wherever you get your podcasts.
On this week's episode of the next chapter, I, D.D. Jakes, get to sit down with Oprah Winfrey, a media mogul philanthropist, and global trailblazer.
I could feel inside myself at four or five years old looking through the screen on the back porch that this is not going to be my life.
Listen to the next chapter on the iHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast, episodes drop weekly.
On the podcast Health Stuff, we are tackling all the health questions that keep you up at night.
I'm Dr. Priyanka Wally, a double board certified physician.
And I'm Hurricane Dibolu, a comedian and someone who once Googled, do I have scurvy at 3 a.m.
And on our show, we're talking about health in a different way, like our episode where we look at diabetes.
In the United States, I mean, 50% of Americans are pre-diabetic.
How preventable is type 2?
Extremely.

She said, Johnny, the kids didn't come home last night.
Along the central Texas plains, teens are dying.
Suicides that don't make sense.
Strange accidents and brutal murders.
And what seems to be, a plot ripped straight out of Breaking Bad.
Drugs, alcohol, trafficking of people.
There are people out there that absolutely know what happened.
Listen to paper ghosts, the Texas teen murders, on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
This is the Almost Famous Podcast with IHeart Radio.
Hey, everybody. It's the almost famous OGs podcast. This is Trista.
and today. Wow, we have a lot to talk about. The Golden Bachelor Season 2 finale and AFR was just last night.
I don't know when this episode is coming out, but it was recent. I could not think of anyone.
I actually couldn't think of anyone better to recap the episode with and discuss all of what happened on Golden Bachelor season one.
Please welcome Teresa Nist.
Right. So, Teresa, you were there in the audience last night, and I assume because you were in the audience that you watched the whole season. What were your overall thoughts?
Yes. I watched the whole season. I will say that this season was so different from season one. And I was trying to try to understand why. And I think it was that we were so emotionally involved with season one. And why? Not only, I know that there was loss on this one, and that's very sad. But on hours, not only did the lead lose his wife, but there was so many women who lost their spouses. And Leslie,
lost her dad. And I was, when I came home, I was watching the episode and I was blown away
because if you'll recall, it starts out where there's complete silence and then Gary puts in
his hearing aid and then they have Cat Stevens, the wind, and it's phenomenal and it immediately
like sucks you in. And so the lead was emotional. The whole experience was just emotional. So
this one, it just seemed like Mel was very guarded, and I think that's a popular opinion that
he held so much in, and he wasn't as vulnerable as he could have been.
Totally agree.
That is such a good way to put it.
Your season was emotional.
There was emotion in it, you know?
Like, we were all emotional going along for the ride and knowing that Gary had lost his
wife, and, you know, so many people had as well.
and went through all of, you know, all of these ups and downs.
You're so right, that definitely puts a lot in perspective for me,
because I have been thinking about what was missing.
And that is a great way, great way to put it.
He was very garden, and I think we were just talking about this before you came on
or before we opened up, that I think now, after talking to Heather,
our producer, that he was so guarded because he spoke before the show even started
about how he wanted to have, you know, women 45 to 60 on that podcast.
And I think because there was such a lash, you know, people were not happy with that statement.
I think he, because he said something and he was like, oh, I can't say.
exactly what's on my mind because it will be used against me. You are so right. So he was so
afraid to say anything. You're right, Trista. So he was censoring everything he was saying. My gosh,
don't say that. Even if I'm thinking that, that's the wrong thing to say. Oh. I think he was really,
and I do empathize with that or sympathize with that because for my season, you know,
being the first bachelorette, I had a lot of press, you know, saying, oh, she's going to look like
a slut. And, you know, she's going to come across as a whore because it's her and 25 guys
instead of one guy and 25 girls, which I'm like, whatever. Anyway, so I was called every name in the
book. And I think I went into it and did the opposite and was like, I'm not going to kiss anybody
like right out the gate, you know, I'm going to try to behave. And I, and I,
I feel like, in a way, I was definitely guarded in terms of, like, being physical with people.
And it just took more time, which was fine.
Obviously, it all worked out for me.
But I think it makes sense why if something happens like that, you feel like, oh, crap, I can't, I can't truly speak from
the heart because I might get myself in trouble.
Yeah.
I put a censor to start the whole thing.
And maybe he looked at what Gary did.
Like Gary said, I love you to so many women.
And maybe he made a promise to himself in the beginning to say,
I'm not saying that.
I'm not doing that.
I'm going to keep it for the end.
So there could be so many things going through his mind and censoring himself.
And so you're right.
I didn't think of your perspective.
But it's also interesting because I don't know that he thinks that he censored.
himself. Yeah, I think you're right. Like he wouldn't, he probably wouldn't agree with that because
I don't think he would. Yeah. He probably thought that he had this really open mind and an open heart,
but we see him as very guarded. It almost seems sometimes like he's there against his will. Like I'm just
not going to go along with the program. And so I am sure he's got a great sense of humor. I'm sure
that he's much more energetic than he came across. And that's what's going on here.
So it's too bad that happened.
And I'm sorry that happened to him.
And he was, you know, just speaking,
he probably thought no one was going to hear that.
And maybe he really truly didn't know what the age parameters were.
He didn't know that.
Yeah.
Yeah.
I mean, I do feel like also he should have been like smacked on the back of the hand for that.
Because it's not, you know, when you're going into the Golden Bachelor
and we're talking about women in their golden years and people like you and Leslie and
all the people from this season and all the people from last season like you shouldn't be uh you should
be put in your place if you're an agist you know like i i think it was right that people felt
i mean please all of the women pretty much every single one of them when they came out of the limo
they said something to him about that comment so i feel like he should have been put in his place
because that was not appropriate but i think
I think he got a lesson real quick in needing to think about what you say.
Yeah.
I say it.
Right.
I think enough of the women said something and then he was roasted.
So I think he paid his to you.
Yes.
Yes.
Yes.
Agreed.
Okay.
So were you surprised about anything that happened during the finale?
Yeah.
I was surprised that they asked Gary for his opinion.
So just kidding.
No, honestly
I should have asked my opinion
No, no, hey, hey, you have every right to say that, girlfriend.
I would think that maybe I was surprised by Cindy saying,
like backing out, but you know what I was more surprised by?
After she backs out, I think the whole audience is feeling sorry for Peg.
Oh my God, she's there now by default, poor Pegg.
And I think they handled that so well.
They didn't make it
You think Mel handled it well
Okay, and Peg, got it
Right, and that it seemed to be
She was meant to be there
And it wasn't by default whatsoever
Because I think the whole audience
May have been afraid that that's
What the feeling would be
And it wasn't
Yeah, yeah, no, I agree with that
I am very, very happy for Pegg
I love her and I've never met her
I loved her on the show
And everyone deserves
love. I just have to say, and I am definitely interested to get your thoughts, especially because
I want to hear how the audience reacted. But what went down with Cindy just did not vibe well
with me at all. Yeah, I felt the same way. You mean from Mel's perspective? Yes, for what he did.
Like I, you know, she on the beach, on the dock, you know, she's saying, you know, I, I envisioned us committing to each other.
You know, she was talking about how she was going to move to, move to California and leave Austin, even though she's got her girls there and, you know, really commit to him and even get her own place.
like it wasn't like a pressure situation and he couldn't give her that and and then when they were
on stage i felt like he was just talking in circles and like blaming her for the fact that she
left but the fact that she left in my mind she left because he was not giving her what she felt
like she needed and when she said sorry i'm talking so much i'm just so
revved up about the episode. So when she said that she wanted a guy to be hit by lightning
when or something like that, she wanted her guy to feel like so excited to see her and like hit
by lightning and so like excited about their relationship and in love with her. You know,
that's what all of us want, right? Exactly. That's what we all want. But it could have been that he
decided in his mind that there was no way he was going to let that loose until the end and i think in his
mind and i know and i'm totally feeling what you're feeling and she and i do totally agree with her that
that was she went into this earnestly thinking that that was the end goal that they were going to
get engaged and she was ready to do it and he's saying no not necessarily i don't think that
there's necessarily a wedding or a marriage at the end but who knows
I'd like to think who knows what would have happened if they went into the fantasy suite
where he could have been himself. And you don't know if at the end he would have been blown
away and said, I love you, I love you so much. I want to marry you. I do want to marry you.
And that could have happened. So, but she decided she wasn't seeing that enough at that point
in the progression of the relationship. And she didn't, he wanted to see it through. I think, you know,
he needed both fantasy suites, both behind doors, to get that real conversation, and I think
he felt cheated out of it, but she wasn't, she wasn't feeling it ahead of time. So they're both
valid in their feelings, and she has every right to feel that this, she was somewhat maybe
deceived, like, I expected that there would be a commitment and a marriage and a wedding at the
end of this, and especially in engagement. But in his mind,
No, not necessarily.
And again, I have to say, was he deterred by what happened on a previous season?
Did that happen to him?
Did he say, I don't want that to happen to me?
So I don't want to make any promises I can't keep.
And I really do think perhaps if she had just let things go naturally the way that you should have progressed, it might have worked out.
But then again, I don't blame her for taking that stand and feeling the way she did.
and saying what she said
and that was right for her
and that was true for her
and so she left
and I felt that he thought
there was no way I could get her back
she was very determined
and maybe he also didn't want to be rejected twice
to not have to
and maybe that's why I think we're out
yeah
yeah true
no I just feel like
yes she said no
but part of me thinks that
she didn't just say no because he didn't want the commitment in the end that she was
looking for. I think also it seemed like on that doc that she was looking for anything from him
to say, I am excited about our potential future. You know, like he was giving her, at least from what
we saw, because so much of it ends up on the cutting room floor, at least from what we saw,
it did not seem like he was giving her any validation
that she was a potential person at the end for him.
Do you know what I mean?
I absolutely, I do agree with you that he showed her nothing.
And I really, and I'm thinking it could have been that
that he was holding it back for the fantasy suites
or for the end for the end.
It almost seemed like he really did make a promise to himself
that he wasn't going to say anything.
He wasn't going to say, I love you to anyone, and he was afraid.
So what if he had done that?
What if he had said, I'm nuts about you?
I think the world of you, then that would have looked like he made a decision that it was her.
I get it.
So to think back on anything else, any other season, and there were two, so there's a golden
bachelor and a golden bachelorette.
So what happened on those?
So on the golden bachelor, it was said.
You know, so I did that end?
But so I thought this and our, my producer just confirmed it for me.
He didn't watch the shows previously.
Oh, he didn't.
So, okay, great.
So throw that out the window.
Yeah, he doesn't know anything of your history or of Jones.
At least, I'm sure maybe he knows what happened in the end, but he did not watch the show.
So I don't, I don't believe that he knows that Gary was, you know, telling multiple people.
But I, you know, I just feel like with Cindy, going back to it just for one last time, I feel like when you don't get that validation, then you're like, well, why should I be here anyway? Like, what's going to change? If you're not giving me any kind of validation, then why should I, why should I go to the fantasy suite? Like, I don't want, I don't want to be in the room with you anymore if you're not even willing to say, like, I'm totally into you. Do you know what I mean? Like, I'm, like, I
That's a big step, especially because her daughters are watching and, you know, like, I just feel like that's kind of a big step for people and you need to feel something going into the fantasy suite.
Like, you know, we, yes, we want to be able to talk, but, you know, if we're just going to sit there and talk about how you're not into me, Lynn, what's the point?
Yeah, you're right.
She got nothing.
her and then right so he tell her i don't know and yes and so and and maybe i would have felt the same way
like she's not he's not giving me anything what am i going to do with yeah i guess what i'm saying
is i am proud of her for and you know i i can't be proud of her i don't know her but i am proud of her
as someone in bachelor nation for standing up for herself and and and not only doing that while the show
was filming on that doc, but also I felt like last night, and you tell me if it seemed like the
whole air and energy in the room was this way, but she was a class act last night. And oh my gosh,
I was like, you go. Like the fact that he was running around in circles, blaming her for
leaving, not taking any accountability for the fact that he gave her nothing before
fantasy sweets and was basically like, you know, no, I don't take leaps of faith. Wait a second.
You signed up for the golden bachelor. That is a massive leap of faith. Like massive. You're putting
your life into the hands of television producers that you've never met before. That is a massive
leap of faith. And so I have a problem with the fact that he says he doesn't have, doesn't do that.
but he was blaming her for leaving and period end of story. He took no accountability for the fact that
he was just giving her no validation and, in my opinion, was gaslighting her.
And 100%. I don't know. She said was so riveting and so strong. And yes, the whole audience,
the whole air changed. And so it was really a moment. And it was absolutely wonderful that she said
what she said. And she was so strong. And yeah, she, that's.
I think she spoke for a lot of women and who went through the journey with her
and saw her giving her anything.
And she spoke for a lot of women.
And I did look around and I saw everyone saying, yeah, you're right.
You're absolutely right.
And maybe, yeah, Mel needed to be told that.
So yes, absolutely strong, intelligent, wonderful woman.
And she spoke up for herself and said it so eloquently.
So really.
Yeah.
And she said, and I do really.
remember her saying, what did she say? I don't need a man. I don't need to convince. Yeah,
that's right, Heather. I don't need to convince. I don't want to have to convince a man to love me.
That is exactly the sentiment that she put that into words. That is how I felt like she was feeling
on the dock. Like she was feeling like she was saying like, come on, like, don't you want to like talk
about commitment in the future, and he was just not giving her anything. And she's like,
why am I trying this hard? Like, if he has to be convinced, then there's a piece that's
missing. And why should I even go any further? You shouldn't have to convince anyone to love you.
If they love you, they love you, and you can go from there. But I totally agree with her.
Yes. And I actually said something very similar in a podcast recently.
Did you?
What'd you say?
Something very, very similar.
I said, I didn't need a man to force himself to be with me.
I don't need that.
I've been deeply loved in my life.
I don't need anyone to do it out of commitment.
So the same thing.
Right, the same sentiment.
So she said it very strongly.
It was a moment on TV.
It was, and I, too, don't know her.
And I would say I was proud of her for saying, which is.
Yes.
Yeah, so proud of her.

The judges were like, you're trash.
I don't know how you got on the show.
Boo, somebody had tomatoes.
I'm kidding.
But if they had tomatoes, they would have thrown the tomatoes.
Let's be honest.
We've all had those moments we'd rather forget.
We bumped our head.
We made a mistake.
The deal fell through.
We're embarrassed.
We failed.
But this podcast is about that and how we made it through.
So when they sat me down, they were kind of like, we got into the small talk.
And they were just like, so what do you got?
What I did?
is and I was like, oh, no.
What?
Check out Not My Best Moment with me, Kevin on stage on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, YouTube,

On this week's episode of the next chapter, I, D.D.J.K.S. get to sit down with Oprah Winfrey,
a media mogul philanthropist and global trailblazer.
My life, although it may look like an anomaly, it has only been possible because I was
obedient to the calls.
This episode dies deep into how Oprah turned pain into purpose and what it really means
to evolve with everybody watching.
Every decision I have ever made has come from sitting with the spirit and asking God,
what would you have me do first?
Whether you're rebuilding, reimagining, or just trying to hold it together, this one
We'll speak directly to you.

The forces shaping the world's economies and financial markets can be hard to spot.
Even though they are such a powerful player in finance, you wouldn't really know that you are interacting with them.
And even harder to understand.
Donald Trump's trade war, 2.0, is only accessible.
accelerating the process of de-dollarization, which in a way is jargon for people turning away from the dollar.
That is where the big take from Bloomberg podcast comes in, to connect the dots.
How unusual is a deal like this?
Unprecedented.
Every weekday afternoon, we dive deep into one big global business story.
The biggest story of the reaction of the oil market to the conflict in the Middle East is one of what has not happened.
Katie, you told me that ETFs are your favorite thing.
They are.
explain that. Why is that the case? And unpack what it means for you. Our breakfast foods are
consistent consumer staples, and so they sort of become outsized indicators of inflation.
Listen to the big take from Bloomberg News every weekday afternoon on the IHeart Radio app,

So the energy in the room was the energy in the room, just palpable, like, in support of her?
Yes, absolutely.
You were sitting next to Leslie.
Yes.
And then Debbie, is that right?
Well, we were sitting, we were so lucky.
We were sitting with all the women pretty much.
I love that.
I have to say, they were phenomenal.
These women were so warm and wonderful and welcoming.
And they want to keep in touch with us.
and we were taking photos
and we went out with them afterwards.
I thought for me that the night was the most rewarding
because of these women.
I just keep saying, I keep thinking,
let me keep going on and on and on
to form this whole entire group of women
from around the nation who are in sport of each other.
If it keeps going, we're going to have everyone in this age group.
And it's just, it was amazing to be in their company,
the energy, the intelligence,
the warmth and so nobody and even those who were not edited well or who didn't come across
as well were so great in person is that including Nicole because of you know or remind
okay good we need to remind the listeners if they I'm sure they know but Nicole is the one who
said that she felt like your season the first season of Golden Bachelor the women were not so
cute and then not great looking is that what she said quote and oh gosh so did she address that at all
with you and leslie no she didn't have to she didn't say anything okay good you know what it was you're so
glassy yeah we're not going to talk we didn't go there and we know she didn't mean it and she actually
said i said i shared a dinner with her and so we both ate the same dinner yeah so it's right and we
She's phone numbers.
It was great.
Okay, good.
I love hearing that because you know me.
I'm all about my family, my Bachelor Nation family.
I don't want there to be anyone fighting.
No.
No, it's great.
We were so lucky that we were in the middle of them.
That was the best part of the night.
That is so cute.
I love it.
I'm surprised that Jesse didn't say, and Diane is here because she wasn't at the women
tell all.
I know. I love Diane. He's so cute. Okay, so I need to address this. So Joan was on our podcast, I think earlier, well, maybe yesterday or today. She was talking about the finale, AFR. And she said that you and Leslie were invited late. And she thought,
Have you heard this?
No.
Okay.
Anyway, she said that you guys were, she thought that you and Leslie were invited late because possibly of all of the things that are going on in the media with Gary's book and, you know, everything that you've discussed, which I do not want to put you on the spot if you do not want to talk.
If you don't want to go there, we don't need to go there.
But is that true?
Were you and Leslie, like a late edition?
I don't know how late is late, but it was about three weeks ago.
Yeah, that does not seem late to me.
No, it's like three weeks ago.
Not at all.
No, it's not.
Yeah, I don't think it had anything to do with Gary's book.
I'm not sure.
I don't know.
But we were, no.
So it was about three weeks ago.
And I don't know when other people were invited.
We have no idea.
We were very happy.
Well, I think it came up, Joan said, because no one else from the first season besides you guys and Joan and not talk, obviously, and Gary were the only people from your season.
So I guess that's why she thought that maybe that's why you guys came.
But, you know.
I mean, maybe it was intentional that I would think that it's just me and Leslie because it is topical.
I mean, right.
So that makes sense.
that it would be Gary, me, and Leslie.
And Sandra was because she was there with her sister, Andra.
Oh, yes, Sondra was there too.
Yes, I did see her.
Yes, love Sondra.
Right.
And I think all the women of the second season were there on their own,
that they were all, yeah, they all came of their own volition.
And, yeah.
Yes.
And Susan and Kathy were at the women tell all.
So I don't think they would have come back for that.
Yeah. So it made more sense. They were part of the show. That makes more sense. And so it was great for Leslie and I to do that because we got to meet these women. And it's something we don't think we would have been able to do without this opportunity, without seeing them now. And so. Yeah. Yeah, that was the best part of the entire. But it's, you know, it's so exciting. It really is so exciting to go to a finale like this. They make it wonderful.
The music is all pumped up.
All the audience is pumped up.
You're very excited to be there.
So an overall wonderful experience to be there.
Yeah.
Yeah, right now.
Yeah, me too.
Even though I'm just in Mountain Standard Time because I was just in L.A.
I was at Dancing with the Stars the night that you guys, because I asked when the AFR was
going to be filming to see if I could see everybody.
But it didn't work out because it was the exact same night.
anyway, so I get it. I get the jet lag. Okay, so Gary was in the audience. Was it uncomfortable for you to see him?
Well, it was uncomfortable when we were all mulling around before we went into the audience, because once we were in the audience, I was seated far enough away from him. And I think there was one time when it almost seemed as though he was headed straight towards me. I don't know if he was.
But at least he was headed towards my group of people, and I just walked the other way.
So, yeah, I didn't need to have an encounter.
I want him to take a wonderful life and live his life and be happy.
But I don't have to be a part of it.
Yeah, I totally get that.
Good for you.
Yeah.
Okay.
Can I ask one question about the book?
Is that okay?
And if you don't want to answer, you just say, shut it, Trista.
You just put me in my place.
I will say this, that I did not plan to talk about the book anymore.
But, yes, please ask me the question and we'll see.
Totally.
And like I said, if you do not feel comfortable answering, you know you can tell me.
I would rather not.
Okay, sure.
I just want to know if how you're feeling about, well, actually, I have two questions.
Sorry.
And you can say no to both of them or yes to both of them, however.
feel okay okay so he has been in the press talking about the book doing um you know book tour stuff
and and basically you know discussed some things and i think there's a big he said she said
you know like he'll say something and he's like oh no she's not telling the truth it's so you know
there are as they say three sides to every story right he said she said and
what everyone said. I don't know.
Right. And, okay.
Is there any, is there anything out there right now that you want to clarify that he has said that is not truthful?
So I did have a podcast where I did. Oh, I can say one more thing that he said that was not true.
Oh, I'm sorry. We don't want to go here. So honestly, when I read the book, I kind of
thought, was he there? Because does he remember that I was there, that I know exactly how it
happened? And it could have been that he had a faulty memory, but I remember everything. So there
was, and I will say this, nothing in the book he says about me is true. Nothing, nothing that
he describes not one, and I know you're going to say it's he said, she said, and I didn't
really mean to talk about this anymore, because I really don't want to do it.
But everything, you know, you've heard the stories about silly things about the smoothies, $12, they're not, don't order them every day, make them myself, said I didn't cook. That's not sure. I cook every single night. I pretty much cook every night. But I don't know why Gary felt the need to say bad things about me except to make himself look better. So I will tell you one story. So I don't know if you know he says in the book that I took one.
look at him, he had a shirt on, and I said, oh, no, I scolded him like a kindergarten teacher
and said, oh, no, you're not wearing that shirt. I'm taking you right now to Lulu Lemon to get a new
shirt. Did you read that? Do you know that story? I don't know this story, so tell us. So that's a
story. He says it that way. You want to know how it really happened? Yes, please. Okay, so we were
lying on my couch. He had his hands on my feet. I had my hands on his feet. I was looking at my
direct messages and I said, oh, Gary, there's this girl who works at Lulu Lemon and she knows
you're in town and she says she would love to meet you and get a photo with the three of us.
I said, do you want to go? He said, sure, why not? We're not doing anything. So we go down to Lula Lemon.
we walk in he looks at a shirt on the rack he says do you think i should try this on i said yes sure
why not we go into the dressing room we actually took photos of each other having fun and i put it on
instagram i've since taken it down i don't know if he still has it up and we're having so much fun
i said you look so good in it he said do you think i should buy it i said yeah why not buy it you
look great he goes outside and he buys it that's the lulu lemon story
If there was something where I said, no, you shouldn't wear that shirt, it could have happened, but I wouldn't be scolding him.
And maybe I said, oh, we're going to a really nice restaurant.
You might want to change your shirt.
I don't even remember that at all.
I'm going to give him the benefit of the doubt on that one and say, maybe possibly that happened.
But he put two stories together, or if that was a story.
And he's, how could you do that?
You know, that's not what happened.
And, you know, I mean, I don't know if you heard the other podcast I was on where he says,
I handed him sheets and a pillow and said, would you mind sleeping on the couch?
I have a big day at work tomorrow.
Sure, no problem.
Were the words that came out of my mouth.
That's fiction.
Those words never came out of my mouth.
Those words never came out of his mouth.
I don't know if they decided to say it like that to make it more dramatic.
We slept together the first night.
I had dismantled my master bedroom.
He said I had a two-bedroom house.
I didn't.
If you can see the bedroom way back there, this is the new bedroom I made for Gary.
I don't know if you can see it.
No, probably can't.
I was sleeping in a very small bedroom and a very small bed.
I had not slept with anyone in nine years since my husband passed away.
And my husband was only 5 foot 10.
Gary's a bigger guy.
I didn't sleep all night.
He said, how did you sleep?
I said, I didn't sleep all night.
He said, oh, I can't sleep on the couch if you want me to.
I said, oh my gosh, would you?
Oh, my gosh, really, that would be so great.
I promise you, when you come back, I'm going to have a king-size bed for us.
I'm going to make up the master bedroom again.
And I'm telling you, that's exactly what happened.
My daughter and I, I had ordered all the linens, the beds.
We put the bed together.
I sent him photos.
I've got them in texts.
I said, you look, we did this.
He said, oh, but you didn't do the window coverings.
And I said, oh, but you're a handyman.
I thought you would do that with me.
So I don't want it to be a he said.
She said, I want him to live for life.
I want him to be happy.
I'm just really disappointed that he really, it seems that he felt the need to say something bad about me.
Why?
It almost seems like he thinks that I said anything bad about him, and I never did.
And I never would have said anything.
I would have taken this to my grave.
I never want to hurt another human being.
I wanted him to be happy.
I really didn't want to hurt his daughters.
That was really, I said, I'm never, I'm never going to say anything.
I don't want to hurt his daughters.
And it's not like, just I have not said anything.
If you think I've said anything bad about him, I haven't.
I've only defended myself against everything he said.
I have so much I could say.
I'll hold that inside.
I won't say it.
I'm not saying it.
Still haven't said it.
I've said two things about the cold cuts and about the.
the shed. And that's all I've said. There's more. And I won't say it. I won't say. So I think maybe
it wasn't interesting enough the way it really happened. So let's make it more interesting.
And why? Tell everybody a tiny house. I'm going to cry. Tell everybody that I make,
I make a fine in the kitchen. Who cares? Like, who cares? These are inconsequential things.
Like, who cares?
It's not even, even people I tell this to, who cares if you even did buy a $12 smoothie, which I don't.
Who cares?
I do.
I do.
Right.
So many people do.
I see.
Like, and to say I don't cook, because Teresa never cooked, but, you know, I'm a good cook.
I cook every night.
I just, every night and make myself, I'm not even going to tell you, but roasted vegetables and sweet potatoes and all kinds of fish and grilled shrimp.
And so, no, that's not true.
So I can, you can, if you ever read the book, I can stand here and you can tell me anything
he said, and I will tell you it's not true.
There's not one thing that's true.
Any disparaging remark?
And the other thing was, I think he really felt that all the articles that were coming out
about him, that I was reading them, and I wasn't.
So he was immersing himself in all of this bad news.
And a lot of it coming from a certain social media platform, which I won't name, that I won't go on because it's so depressing.
I even had my sister saying, oh, my gosh, do you know what they're saying?
No, because I don't read it.
And I'd say, Mary don't, just don't read it.
Why should I read that stuff?
So I think he thought I was aware of all these bad things, and I wasn't defending him.
But if you're not aware of what's going on, I don't know what to say.
In his mind, it was way different than it was.
It wasn't the right person for him.
Just admit that.
I was the wrong person.
He wanted someone else.
He should have done that.
He should have gone with Leslie.
He should have done it.
Be true to your heart.
And he made a decision of the head and not the heart.
What's that?
Don't do that.
That's when I said, I don't need a man to do that for me that I've been deeply loved my entire life by my husband.
And so don't do me any favors.
Why?
And like when you know, and the way it wound up, I mean, it was inevitable for it to end up this way.
And I could never understand why he was being so mean to me.
I didn't understand why he didn't trust anything I did.
I'm going, what did I do to not allow him to trust me?
The fact that he thought I was reading a book.
I didn't have a book at the mansion that I didn't ever read that book
and that he imagined me curled up on the couch reading that book
and it got him sick to his stomach.
And now I also understand why when I was nominated for a People's Choice Awards
and I decided to go, he said, oh, I'm surprised.
But now I know he thinks that I was in it for the fame and fortune.
And that's not me.
That's not me at all.
So it just, it all made sense when I, I was so, I was so sad when I found out, you didn't really, you didn't want me.
So.
Yeah.
I know you were.
I know, I know you were.
Hey, thank you so much for opening up.
I mean, our listeners love you.
And I wanted to give you an opportunity to address what has been.
So I don't, I don't mean to.
put you on the spot. I just wanted to give you the opportunity to speak to what has been being
said, you know. Yeah. Thank you. And honestly, I really don't. I really never planned on saying
another word about it. So I just, I guess because I like you so much and I feel like I'm talking to you
that I'm opening up to you. Really, it's not my intention to talk about it again. Yeah.
I understand. We are done. Thank you. And thank you for sharing. Thank you for opening up.
and being vulnerable and telling us what happened.
No one can resist a rule of culture.
So here's one for the dating files.
Rule of culture number 72.
Chemistry isn't just vibes, it's values.
Because what's the point of matching with someone
if you can't talk about the shows you binge,
the books you dog year,
or all the hot takes you'll defend at brunch?
I mean, you definitely have friends
who have met their partners on Bumble, and it makes sense.
It's not just about matching with someone.
It's about finding someone who gets your references, your obsessions, your whole vibe.
With shared interests and prompts, you don't just see a profile.
You get a glimpse of someone's personality, which makes it even easier to start conversations
that actually lead somewhere.
Plus, with photo and ID verification, you can trust that the person you're talking to
is real.
With that added peace of mind, it's so much easier to show up as your full self.
So whether your rule of culture is, the best first dates start with the shared hot take on
Renaissance, or compatibility is having the same hometown bodega.

On this week's episode of the next chapter, I, D.D. Jakes, get to sit down with Oprah Winfrey,
a media mogul philanthropist, and global trailblazer.
My life, although it may look like an anomaly, it has only been possible because I was
obedient to the calls.
This episode dies deep into how Oprah turned pain into purpose and what it really means to evolve with everybody watching.
Every decision I have ever made has come from sitting with the spirit and asking God, what would you have me do first?
Whether you're rebuilding, reimagining, or just trying to hold it together, this one will speak directly to you.

What up y'all? It's your boy, Kevin on stage. I want to tell you about my new podcast called Not My Best Moment, where I talk to artists, athletes, entertainers, creators, friends, people I admire who had massive success about their massive failures. What did they mess up on? What is their heartbreak? And what did they learn from it?
I got judged horribly.
The judges were like, you're trash.
I don't know how you got on the show.
So when they sat me down, they were kind of like,
we got into the small talk.
And they were just like, so what do you got?
What idea?
And I was like, oh, no.
What?

And she said, Johnny, the kids didn't come home last night.
Along the central Texas planes, teens are dying, suicides that don't make sense,
strange accidents, and brutal murders.
In what seems to be, a plot ripped straight out of Breaking Bad,
Drugs, alcohol, trafficking of people.
There are people out there that absolutely know what happened.

Yes, I'm Dr. Priyanka Wally, a double board certified physician.
And I'm Hurricane Dabolu, a comedian and someone who once Googled,
do I have scurvy at 3 a.m.
On health stuff, we're talking about health in a different way.
It's not only about what we can do to improve our health,
but also what our health says about us and the way we're living.
Like our episode where we look at diabetes.
In the United States, I mean, 50% of Americans are pre-diabetic.
How preventable is type 2?
Extremely.
Or our in-depth analysis of how incredible mangoes are.
Oh, it's hard to explain.
explain to the rest of the world that you, like, your mangoes are fine because mangoes are
incredible, but like, you don't even know.
You don't know.
You don't know.
It's going to be a fun ride.
So tune in.

Okay.
I want to talk.
Let's switch gears.
Let's talk about Pegg.
So what were, what were your feelings of Peg like through the entire season?
I have mine, I'll share with you in a second, but what were your feelings on Peg?
Okay, so before the season started, I thought it was, I actually picked Cindy, but then as soon as I...
You did?
I did.
Like, she was, if you had brackets, like we actually did brackets.
Yes.
And did you do a bracket?
No, I didn't do it, but I picked Cindy.
I don't know what.
Yeah, I just thought it was.
Cindy. And I loved every one of the women, but I just thought it was Cindy. But then when they
their date, Peg and Mel, I said, oh, it's Peg. I said, the way he lit up, the way he got
excited, the way they interacted and they danced and they had so much fun. I was sure it was Peg. So
I think they're both phenomenal women, incredible women. They're so bright and funny and smart and
engaging and well, I mean, they couldn't have picked better women. You should get to know these women. Well, they were really tall, though. A lot of them were from California. They are. I felt like this tiny, tiny person. They're so tall. And so, oh, my gosh, they were. You should see some of them. They're amazing. So I really do think that it was meant to be that he would be with Peg. I just saw that chemistry there.
And, you know, so it was close there, but even though Cindy's the one that took herself out of it, I think that it was meant to be.
And I really do think, you know, maybe he's, he was gun shy and he doesn't think that he can end this in a marriage.
But who knows what's going to happen?
And Peg is leaving her heart open for any possibility.
And when you have that and you've got that acceptance, that just might happen.
Who knows?
And every time they've done this, we've only done it three times now, you have season one,
you've got The Bachelorette, and you've got this, season two.
It's been done a different way.
I think the first season, we thought that it had to end in a marriage.
I think that that was, we said this before.
And then Joan learned from my season, I do think, because she took a stand.
and she was very right about so many things.
She didn't want beds in the fantasy suites.
Kudos to her.
And she didn't say she loved many people.
And she just keyed it on the one person.
And they don't live together.
And they're making it work.
And it works.
And now you've got Mel who's saying,
I'm just giving you a commitment ring.
I'm not even giving you an engagement ring.
But who knows what's going to happen when you leave your heart open?
We'll see.
Maybe they'll be the most successful one.
Who knows? It's love. Well, they can't be. They can't be because they just met. And I've been
married to my husband for almost 22 years. But anyway. I know. They can't. They're going to
and they're so old. It can never be better. No, that's not what I meant. But you know what I'm
saying. Yes, love Peg. I loved her energy. I obviously, I love that she is connected to the
fire department. Like, I think she's a badass.
I love that she is so connected to her family.
Like, that is a value of hers.
And obviously, Mel shares that in the love he has for his sons.
So I love that they have that in common.
They just do feel like very, like, fun loving and youthful and, you know, open.
Although it was really funny.
I have to go back to the episode where he was driving the, like, dune buggy thing.
Oh, my God.
And she's like, oh, my gosh, could you please put the pedal to the medal?
Yeah, come on.
And then she took the wheel.
Yes, I loved that.
That was so cute.
You know what?
He's a football player.
Maybe he's saying, okay, now I don't want to get hit or hurt anymore.
Like, I don't see much in my life.
I'm done.
I'm not getting hurt.
And you know what?
Actually, what is it called, like concussion syndrome or whatever, where, like, Ryan dealt
with that playing in the NFL.
And he didn't play as long as Mel did.
Not even close.
So maybe there's like, maybe there is like concussion symptoms or something going on there
where he's like, yeah, I do not want to get hurt.
I'm not falling out of this dune buggy.
So I'm going to go 10 miles an hour.
I think so.
And you didn't want to go near the stingray, the stingray side of the stingray.
Yeah, that's right.
That's right.
He might have grown way cautious in his older years because he's gone through
so much. Well, I think that Peg is going to change that. Yeah. I have a feeling that she is going to be
like, dude, we're together and we're going to live this life and we're going to have fun.
So come on. I don't care about the stingrays and the dune buggies. Let's go.
Okay. So this is not, I thought it was one of the only times that this has happened. But before we
started this podcast, we were chatting about how many people.
have actually not committed to each other after the show.
And there are quite a few people, including Jesse,
which I was like, oh, my gosh, that's right.
Oh, wow.
So I know, and he didn't mention it last night,
probably because he doesn't want to bring attention to it.
But Bob, my co-host, is also one of those people who gave a promise ring.
And you know what, Heather, do you have?
Actually, I'll just read it from, I have it on our text, so I'll pull it up, Heather.
Okay, so Bob Guinea, my amazing co-host, gave us a little something that we could quote him in saying that I would read back to you all.
So here we go.
He said, no, I was not contractually obligated to give a ring at the end of my season of The Bachelor.
We asked him if he was contractually obligated.
he said i really didn't feel comfortable proposing at that point so to me the promise ring was my way of showing estella and everyone else
that we were going to give things a try without the cameras around and you know he said that and that actually
makes me remember that alex michel who was the very first bachelor that broke my heart he said the
exact same thing to amanda that he wanted to give a try
on, you know, on their relationship without the cameras around.
So there's something to it.
And Bob said, and see what we could build.
It obviously didn't work out for us as a couple, but we're both happily married now.
So, yay.
Yes, it always does work out, you know, like however it's supposed to work out.
I sometimes when I'm watching and this happens, I'm like, but it really doesn't have to,
to end in an engagement to be successful. I just, I feel like what, and tell me what you were
feeling, knowing that this happened last night being in the audience. Because it kind of,
everything that it happened with him and Cindy and how I felt like he didn't take accountability
and really like just compliment her and say the same things that she was saying to him,
which she said, you know, I want you to be happy.
And he didn't say anything like that.
You know, like, so when he wasn't saying those same things and kind of lifting her up
and saying, he could have said, I'm so sorry that that happened.
I had stronger feelings for Pegg.
And I just wasn't ready to go there.
I'm so sorry.
I wish we could have talked about it behind closed doors, but I do want you to be happy or whatever.
You know what I mean?
Yeah.
So that put a really bad taste in my mouth.
And then knowing that they didn't get engaged after that, I kind of was like, well, bummer.
Like I feel like the ladies, like they all left their lives to come on the show and then we don't even have an engagement.
But I will say, other seasons when this has happened, I don't care as much.
because it is a television show.
And if people are not ready, then they're not ready.
Like there's no reason to pressure yourself to get engaged if you're not ready.
So I give it up usually to the people who know that they're not ready and have the wherewithal
and their wits about them to know what they want and what they need.
And if that's not something that they want, then standing.
up to the show and saying, no, I'm not ready to go there, but here's a promise ring.
But then last night, I just had this bad taste in my mouth after everything that went down
with Cindy. And I was kind of like, well, eh, I'm not so thrilled that they didn't get engaged.
You know what I mean? I don't know. I really, I think that they were both aligned and they felt
the same way. And I really do think that she's giving him grace. So Peg is giving Mel Grace that
maybe he's just afraid and it I really feel like it's going to get there and I think it's going
to work out that way and I think that if she she really felt the same way he did and if she
forced the issue and said no I have to get engaged like they wouldn't be where they are
and he probably maybe he would have walked away I think because she's allowing him the freedom
to choose because he doesn't feel comfortable that he most likely will
get there because now he's with a woman who really understands that. And it was, and I totally
really agree with Cindy too, because that was how she felt. And she should not put up with
what something she doesn't want to do. So I think that it was, I really think this was the most
exciting episode of the entire season. So you had Cindy standing up for herself for what she believed
in. And then you had Elle and Peg going forward with what,
they believed in. And maybe Pegg really did feel the same way Mel did. It seemed like she
did. And now they were able to say, he said, I'm in love with her. And she said, I'm in love
with him. So, wow, they were able to get there. So I'm like all about freedom. I'm all
about never trying to force anyone to do something that they don't want to do. Do what makes
you happy. And I know that you would think that too. And I'm sorry that you did feel disappointed
that it didn't get there.
But then the people who feel that way,
feel, okay, I'm sure there have been people who felt pressured
and maybe Gary did to feel like he had to end it
in an engagement when it really should not have been
and maybe he should have taken a stand and said,
I wasn't ready for this.
And so there is that pressure at the end,
being in that situation, all of America wants an engagement.
They're looking for a wedding.
They want this to happen.
So we can't disappoint America.
We can't do that.
We want a love story.
They want this to happen.
So, you know, I understand that about Gary feeling that way.
I get it.
So, yeah.
And he was the first.
So I'm sure there was pressure from production saying, like, you're the first.
You need to, like, establish the ground rules that we really want people to find love, you know.
And the indicator for that is an engagement.
you know in some in some ways so um okay so uh tell me is uh peg wearing the ring on her left hand
yes i read that she put it on her left hand and i think it's really she put it on her left hand
so doesn't that mean that it's an engagement ring like i'm confused isn't a pro are you supposed
to wear a promise ring like around your neck or i don't know i don't know the rules
ring when I was 16 and I wore it on my left hand. I don't know. I don't know what the rules are.
Yeah, I mean, I guess who cares? Who cares? Bob did have Estella wear her ring on her right hand.
So maybe that's where I'm getting it from. I don't know, maybe. Not that it means anything.
Like, they can do what they want. If that's where she wants to wear it. And to be quite honest,
I feel like the sizes of my fingers are different on both.
Way different. Way different, minor. I actually can fit my wedding band on this finger, but I can't even
get it down here on this finger. Exactly. So maybe that's why she's wearing it on her left hand.
Who knows? And what do you think about this? If they get engaged, will she get a new ring?
Oh, I don't think so. I think that's it. I think Neil Lane designed that one with the hope that maybe it turns into an engagement ring that
you can now. Now you're calling it in and get hearing. I don't know. What would she do? Give it back and say,
I want a more spectacular ring now because now? I mean, it is pretty spectacular, I will say.
So the stats on it, like People Magazine did a thing on Instagram and they featured it. I think
they said it was like three, three carrots total or something like that. I was like, wow.
That's insane. Three and a half carrots. So I had to look up what my.
my ring was because I don't have it on right now, but my Valeruner ring that I got from Neal Lane.
And it, it was, it's like four something. So I was like. Oh my goodness. Wow. Wow. That's amazing.
No, I don't say it for that reason, but I'm like, I, okay, well, at least I got like a four-carat ring.
And instead of like a, I mean, a three and a half carrot promise ring. Wow.
You got a four-carriage.
Amazing.
Oh, my God.
Amazing.
That is amazing.
Isn't that amazing?
Like, she's a lucky gal.
It's gorgeous.
It's gorgeous.
It is gorgeous.
I love cushion.
Yes.
And I have a platinum ring.
And I love platinum.
But I love kind of the trend that I'm seeing that there are more.
What was yours?
You know what?
I don't know.
When Gary.
I think it was way lower, like maybe 2.0. No, no, I mean gold or platinum. Oh, it was platinum. Okay.
Yes. I thought you meant you didn't even remember if it was colder or platinum.
I gave it back. I had to give it back. So you did. So if it's, if you are together for a year, is that what the marker is? And you get to keep it?
No, they didn't actually ask me for it.
I just felt guilty.
I knew that was the word.
So I contacted them and I said, do I have to give you this ring back?
Because I was afraid he was going to lose it.
And then they were going to say, where's the ring?
Oh.
It wasn't in hard.
I don't know.
So I gave it back.
Well, good for you for reaching out.
That is called integrity.
Thank you.
Integrity.
Yes, I love that.
I can't think of it back.
I said, well, send me an envelope.
What is it?
What do I have to do?
I know.
What do I have to hand deliver it?
Or are you going to bring a bodyguard?
or what?
And I said, did you get it?
Did you get it?
Tell me you got it.
Oh, that is nerve-wrecking, I will say.
I had, like, a couple diamonds had, not the center diamond, but a couple of the, like,
Paave diamonds had come out.
So I had talked to Neal Lane about them fixing it, and they were going to have me send
it in the mail, and I was so stressed out about that.
Oh, wow.
I was like, I don't know if I like that.
I kind of want to fly to L.A. and, like, give it to you there.
Yes, I can't wear it.
But did you really send it? Did you send it back?
No, I ended up doing something else.
But, yeah, we didn't have to worry about that.
Okay, so give me a comment on this.
Pegg says Mel doesn't have integrity.
He is integrity.
And I guess, do you remember that being said?
I remember what he said after that.
No, no.
Do you remember that?
the crowd's reaction. Yes. Yes. Oh, they thought it was phenomenal. That was a great statement.
They did. I'm sure that that is so true about Meg, about Mel, sorry, Meg or Peg.
Meg. Meg. It's Meg. It's the Meg. No. If she had to say that, that means she knows this man
so well, and he has such high integrity. I have a feeling we're just not seeing Mel. We're not
seeing the full mel and maybe sometime in the future we will and i'm feeling he's this funny
guy who's really fun-loving and really energetic and outgoing and you know and if anybody's going
to bring him out of his shell if he needs to be brought out of his shell it's going to be peg so
i just think that he we just didn't get to know him and yeah yeah i think that was good for you
for giving him the benefit of the doubt i still am a little sour about how he treated cindy but
You know.
I know.
We often think we know our type in dating.
Tall, funny, a certain job.
But the research shows we're usually not the best predictors of who will actually make us the happiest.
As we often say on the happiness lab, our minds lie to us about all kinds of stuff.
And that definitely includes the kinds of things we need to be happy in a relationship.
That's why it helps to stay curious.
On Bumble, features like shared interests and prompts
make it easy to notice right on someone's profile
initial sparks of compatibility,
like a shared love of cooking or the same nostalgic TV shows.
Shared interests and prompts let you showcase your personality
right on your profile and connect with people who get your vibe.
And with photo and ID verification,
you can feel confident the person you're talking to is real,
so you can date with a bit more confidence.
When you treat dating as exploration,
instead of sticking to a rigid type,
you open yourself up to happier, more meaningful connections.
So maybe your type isn't tall, dark, and mysterious.
Maybe it's Love's podcast as much as you do.
Stay open, stay curious, and let yourself be surprised.

What up, y'all? It's your boy, Kevin on stage.
I want to tell you about my new podcast called Not My Best Moment,
where I talk to artists, athletes, entertainers, creators, friends,
people I admire who had massive success about their massive failures.
What did they mess up on?
What is their heartbreak?
And what did they learn from it?
I got judged horribly.
The judges were like, you're trash.
I don't know how you got on the show.
We failed.
but this podcast is about that
and how we made it through.
So when they sat me down,
they were kind of like, we got into the small talk
and they were just like, so what do you got?
What? What ideas?
And I was like, oh, no.
What?
Check out Not My Best Moment with me, Kevin on stage,

On this week's episode of the next chapter,
I, D.D. Jakes, get to sit down with Oprah Winfrey,
A media mogul philanthropist and global trailblazer.
My life, although it may look like an anomaly,
it has only been possible because I was obedient to the calls.
This episode dies deep into how Oprah turned pain into purpose
and what it really means to evolve with everybody watching.
Every decision I have ever made has come from sitting with the spirit,
and asking God, what would you have me do first?
Whether you're rebuilding, reimagining, or just trying to hold it together,
this one will speak directly to you.
Listen to the next chapter on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcast,
or wherever you get your podcast, episodes drop weekly.
She said, Johnny, the kids didn't come home last night.
Along the Central Texas Plains, teens are done.
Dying. Suicides that don't make sense. Strange accidents and brutal murders. In what seems to be,
a plot ripped straight out of Breaking Bad. Drugs, alcohol, trafficking of people.
There are people out there that absolutely know what happened.
Listen to paper ghosts, the Texas teen murders on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
The forces shaping the world's economies and financial markets can be hard to spot.
Even though they are such a powerful player in finance, you wouldn't really know that you are interacting with them.
And even harder to understand.
Donald Trump's trade war, 2.0, is only accelerating the process of de-dollarization, which in a way is jargon for people turning away from the dollar.
Our breakfast foods are consistent consumer staples, and so they sort of become outsized indicators of inflation.
Listen to the big take from Bloomberg News every weekday afternoon on the IHeart radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
Okay, so let's change gears.
So they did the whole Taylor Frankie Paul sit down with Jesse.
They showed you that, right?
Yes, they showed us that.
Okay.
Okay. So how, first of all, how did you feel when they announced her as,
bachelor. Oh, so excited. I really, I think, yes. I'm so excited. So of course, they, you know,
they had to do something different. And now to have someone like this just brings a whole
different element to it. And of course, all of her followers will follow her. And I, I think it's
just very exciting. I'm excited to see it. I think, I think that everyone's going to be so
excited to see this. So making us wait for it. It's not until March. So it's very,
a very long time. Yes. Yes. I will say that I felt like I was shocked in the beginning, just because I haven't
watched Mormon wives, and I know what I knew of her was just that she is like controversial, you know?
And it seems like she speaks her mind, and she's like, listen, this is what's up, you know,
which I love. I'm all for female empowerment. And obviously she comes, like you said,
said with a following already, and I had always said I would love for someone to be plucked out
of obscurity and not from like, you know, reused from past seasons and not reused, I guess is not
the appropriate word, but, you know, plucked from a past season, someone that we could all
fall in love with together. And that I felt like was part of why Golden was so magical,
was because we could all fall in love with Gary and all of you.
at the same time together.
And this is kind of that because she's being plucked not out of Bachelor Nation,
but out of, you know, kind of a, you know, an ABC show or a Hulu show, the whole family
of ABC.
And I do love that.
And I will say the sit down with Jessie, and I've been following her since it was announced.
And I'm so excited.
I think that it is, like Jessie said last night, it's going to.
to be a wild ride because she is going to, you know, put the guys in their place.
Like, I loved that she was giggling about how she did, like, put the, what did
what did Jesse say about, she sent somebody home?
Yes, that too.
Yes.
Yes, she's not going to, like, deal.
She's going to, you know, call it like it is.
And I love that.
I'm really excited.
for that. And her interview alone was just so real and vulnerable. Yes. Yes. I think it's going to be
exciting. She said, yeah, she said, even if I hear something, I'm just going to let them go. But she said
that she's already falling, you know, for people and that she's surprised. I know. I love that.
I love that she is open to it, you know, that she's ready and willing. And she will, the one thing I said,
not one thing I said, but I think one of the really good things about Taylor is you know that
she's going to just shoot straight from the hip. She's going to tell it like it is. She is going to
bring you all along for the ride. Bring us all along for the ride. So I am so excited.
So I'm predicting. We won't know what's going to happen. Right. That'll be the part of it.
That's a great word. Yes. But nothing will happen until March. So there'll be like complete silence until
March. That's a long time.
That is a very long time. I want to say it's February, though.
Oh, it's because they're renovating the mansion and they're doing a show on HDTV to renovate the mansion.
So that's why it's late. That's the reason. Okay, great. I can't see that too. That'll be great.
Yeah. I mean, right? I'm kind of bummed that I wasn't asked to be one of the people to do it. I would have loved that.
I mean, Ryan and I actually had a show on HGTV.
It didn't get past the pilot, so let me just specify that.
But it was called Rocky Mountain Renau, and we loved it.
It was so much fun, so I would have loved to do that.
I'm sorry that it didn't make.
It's all good.
It's all good.
It was so much fun to film.
So, yeah.
Maybe next season, but are they going to keep renovating the mansion?
They probably won't.
I don't think so.
Maybe they'll do the outside or something.
Yeah, I know
I doubt it
But I am very interested
To see who like wins that show
And how it is renovated
Like how exciting
So exciting
Yeah
So exciting
Okay
So we know that the show
Wait where did the show send
Where were they going to send you
And Gary
Gary and we were going to Italy
And they're going to Napa Valley
Yeah
They're going to Napa
Yeah
Which, I mean, got to love Napa.
And it kind of seems like it fits their vibe.
You know, they want to just hang out and, you know, eat some food and drink some wine.
Yeah, that sounds great.
You guys never went on your trip, did you?
We never went on our trip.
And it wasn't like they were giving us a trip to Italy that they put together.
They just gave us money.
And we were supposed to put it together.
Oh.
Yeah.
So it would have been.
Oh, much better.
They just decided where we're going, you know, that'd be right.
That, yes.
Yeah.
Well, hopefully you can use the money and go to Italy by yourself.
Oh, that's great.
Yes.
Yes, someday.
We'll do that.
Someday.
Twice.
I have been to me twice, but I've never been to the lower part of Italy.
So have you been to Italy?
Yes.
I have, and I love Italy.
I would go back in a heartbeat.
I mean, we went to.
Chinkwatera, which is like one of the, like, little fishing villages.
Yeah.
Or five fishing villages.
It's where Pesto was created.
And if you like Pesto, go to Cinqueatera because, oh, my gosh, it's really good.
Yeah.
Yes.
I'm sorry that you didn't get to go on your trip.
But, hey, you can still do it.
Another day, someday.
I'll do it.
That's right.
That's right.
Yeah.
Well, we are very happy.
for Mel and for Peg and no I know without a doubt that Cindy will find her person I'm actually
rooting for her to be Golden Bachelorette oh yeah that might happen she seems perfect I think she would
be perfect for Golden Bachelorette oh my gosh I thought she looked drop dead oh my gosh she
was insanely gorgeous oh my gosh her eyes and Pegged
Two. Peg, two. Both of them looked gorgeous last night.
Spectacular. Really, there were stunners. They were stunning. They come out and we go, what?
They were stunning. And I have a feeling that that is because of Gina.
Makeup or makeup artist extraordinaire. And not to say that they are not gorgeous anyway.
But their makeup was. But it was like elevated. They were just glam to the nines.
I thought it was amazing.
Especially with Pegg, she wasn't really wearing that much makeup on the show.
And to see her in full makeup gorgeous, oh, my God, her skin was so beautiful.
I mean, Cindy looks spectacular.
They looked amazing.
They looked amazing.
So, yes, we, of course, everyone at Almost Famous wishes Mel and Pegg.
And I almost did it.
I almost said Meg and Pel.
Pell Mel.
Meg, we're calling them Meg.
We wish them all the best.
Yes, absolutely.
All the happiness.
And I know Cindy will find her person, as will all of the other golden bachelorette.
We, I loved watching this season, and I'm excited for another.
Actually, do you think they're going to do another golden?
Oh, yeah, definitely.
They will.
They will.
They have to.
They cannot stop now.
They've got to do it.
They've learned so much from what we've done so far.
So they're going to get it absolutely perfect the next time.
It's going to be.
That's right.
That's right.
They've got to do it.
We're due for a golden bachelorette.
And then we'll have all these new guys.
Uh-huh.
What?
Are you, by that statement, are you hoping to throw your name in the ring?
Oh, I don't know about that.
No, oh, oh, from the golden bachelorette.
You asked this.
Yes.
I'm ready. That's right. Yes. Okay, Cindy, it's not just you. It's me. You'll have to
contend with me. I could put on makeup too. I love it. I love it. Okay. Well, it's always a pleasure
chatting with you, Teresa. Thank you so much for coming on and recapping and of course sharing what you
didn't want to share.
But I didn't want to share.
Just eliminate all that.
Thank you.
Thank you.
We're done.
She's done talking about it, people.
I'm done.
I'm done.
She's done.
No, thank you for opening up and really sharing with me and every all of our listeners.
It means a lot.
We are here to support you.
We love you.
And thanks for coming on the pod.
Thank you for being so kind and allowed me to be able to say that.
So thank you.
It was wonderful.
Love you.
Love you.
Yeah.
So good to chat.
I'm sure I'll see you soon.
Yes.
See you soon.
See you soon.
Bye.
