Starting point is 00:00:00 This is an I-Heart podcast. My boyfriend's professor is way too friendly, and now I'm seriously suspicious. Wait a minute, Sam. Maybe her boyfriend's just looking for extra credit. Well, Dakota, luckily, it's back to school week on the OK Storytime podcast, so we'll find out soon. This person writes, my boyfriend's been hanging out with his young professor a lot. He doesn't think it's a problem, but I don't trust her. Now he's insisting we get to know each other, but I just want her gone.
Starting point is 00:00:25 Hold up. Isn't that against school policy? That seems inappropriate. Maybe find out how it ends by listening to the OK Storytime podcast and the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Hi, my name is Enya Umanzor. And I'm Drew Phillips. And we run a podcast called Emergency Intercom. If you're a crime junkie and you love crimes, we're not the podcast for you. But if you have unmedicated ADHD... Oh my God, perfect.
Starting point is 00:00:55 And want to hear people with mental illness, psychobabble. Yes, yes. Then Emergency Intercom is the podcast for you. Open your free IHeartRadio app. Search Emergency Intercom and listen now. Do we really need another podcast with a condescending finance bro trying to tell us how to spend our own money? No thank you.
Starting point is 00:01:14 Instead, check out Brown Ambition. Each week, I, your host, Mandy Money, gives you real talk, real advice with a heavy dose of I feel uses. Like on Fridays when I take your questions for the BAQA. Whether you're trying to invest for your future, navigate a toxic workplace, I got you. Listen to Brown Ambition on the I Heart Radio app, Apple Podcast, or wherever you get your podcast. Everyone thinks they'd never join a cult. But it happens all the time to people just like you. And people just like us. I'm Lola Blanc and I'm Megan Elizabeth. We're the
Starting point is 00:01:47 host of Trust Me, a podcast about cults, manipulation, and the psychology of belief. Each week we talk to fellow survivors, former believers, and experts to understand why people get pulled in and how they get out. Trust me, new episodes every Wednesday on Exactly Right. Listen wherever you get your podcasts. I just normally do straight stand-up, but this is a bit different. What do you get when a true crime producer walks into a comedy club? Answer, a new podcast called Wisecrack, where a comedian finds himself at the center of a
Starting point is 00:02:20 chilling true crime story. Does anyone know what show they've come to see? It's a story. It's about the scariest night of my life. This is Wisecrack, available now. Listen to Wisecrack on the IHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. This is the almost famous podcast with IHeartRadio. I am so excited to see you.
Starting point is 00:02:46 I'm so happy to be here. Anytime we get to hang out. Always. It's so exciting. It's the best. I just love you. So for everybody here, it's Trista. I'm not here with Bob, but that's okay, because I'm here with Rachel.
Starting point is 00:03:01 It's Trista for AFOG, and we're going to chat for the podcast with one of my favorites, Rachel. I'm so happy. Oh, my gosh, Blakesley is so jealous. So my daughter is the biggest fan of Rachel ever since the Golden Wedding. Yes, we danced all night. Oh, I literally just heard a song. Oh, my gosh, what song was it? And I was like, it came on when I was driving her to dance.
Starting point is 00:03:25 And I was like, Blixley, do you remember us on the dance floor with Rachel? We were jumping up and down. It was so, it was like we had the 182 or something. Gosh, what song was it? I wish I could remember. We need to pull it up after this and figure it out because that was such a fun night. It was the first night. I got to meet your whole family.
Starting point is 00:03:45 I know. Everyone was there. I know. It was amazing. We need another, hopefully another golden wedding. I mean, right? Or a wedding. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:03:53 I mean, get married. Joan and chalk. That's what I was thinking. Yes, yes, yes. Hopefully, I don't know if they'll do like a wedding on television, but hopefully. I wish they was. So then we can all get together again. Come on, Joan.
Starting point is 00:04:05 Come on, Chalk. Come on, A.V.C. Come on, ABC. Yeah, we let's have the money. Like, yeah. Just for us. We need like a filmed reunion of all of us because I think also people have no idea, like the amount of tea that was being spilled at that wedding. Like they could see us all talking, but they have no idea.
Starting point is 00:04:25 we need to get cameras on. You're so right. Like literally. The behind the scenes. It was insane. Yeah. That was crazy. I kept getting nervous and like, are we like being filmed?
Starting point is 00:04:35 Because the level of tea. Yeah. That we were spilling. I know. Any tea that you can share. I'm trying to think. My brain doesn't work. So I don't even remember what we were talking about.
Starting point is 00:04:49 I know. I don't remember. But that was a crazy time. It was so fun. And actually I have said that for years. I want to do a reunion with everyone who's been on the show. I mean, can you even imagine? No.
Starting point is 00:05:00 We wouldn't, we would have to, like, have a football field or something because there's so many people. I know. And, like, getting X's back together. I know. It's always crazy because obviously we're all over it. Like, some of us are more recent. Like, sometimes you look around the room and you're like, is this like normal?
Starting point is 00:05:19 But he's kind of like a wedding too. Like, you go to a wedding and you're like, ooh, who's that guy? or, I mean, not me anymore. Me, I do. I do. I feel like you probably would. And I would back in the day, like, if you go and you're like, oh, maybe I'll meet somebody at somebody else's wedding.
Starting point is 00:05:38 So you go to those events and I'm sure you see cute boys. I know. Unfortunately, I dated all of them already, though. That's the issue. Is I just, I keep putting myself in a room and I've already dated everyone. That's the problem. Oh, my gosh. I love you.
Starting point is 00:05:54 I know. I'm trying to branch out, but somehow my exes just always end up the same place I am. I don't know how it happens. Okay, but I always see, I'll see pictures of you and, oh, turtle conservatory guy. Blake. Blake. Yes. Love him.
Starting point is 00:06:12 I know, me too. I do. I always ship you when I see you together. I know. You're just friends. They always do, which is so funny, but he is like one of my best friends. Okay. And we are so different.
Starting point is 00:06:24 We have such different types. Yeah. And I need him. Like what's your type and what's his type? So I don't, well, Blake actually, I feel like has like a more wider range of a type. But I have been in my like, I really like kind of like a more feminine guy era. Okay. I know, but Blake says I have to stop doing that.
Starting point is 00:06:44 He's like, that's why you can't find a boyfriend. He's like, you need like a manly guy. And I'm like, I have not been looking for that. So I'm trying to just keep an open mind. You're trying to find a gay bestie. but I literally that's what I'm like no this isn't working again like genuinely this is my issue but I'm trying to branch out and I have like tried to date okay nothing that's like to report on but when I can I'll let you know when I can I will let you know but I have been you know proceeding a little yeah there will be something to report but okay not not currently currently not currently but but but Speaking of X's, and Speaking of being at the Bachelor
Starting point is 00:07:26 Mansion. Oh, yes, give us the tea. I, okay, I have to tell you a story. I can't wait. And I've told no one this. I don't know how this, like, it's the perfect moment. So I was in the Rose Ceremony Room. Okay. And I was like having it. Because we're at the Bachelor Mansion.
Starting point is 00:07:38 Yes. We're at the Bachelor Mansion. And I was having like my emo moment standing there. I was like, oh, I used to stand up here and give out roses. And then I remembered. Okay, okay. Okay. For anyone who watched my season,
Starting point is 00:07:52 We had a rose ceremony And it was the rose ceremony We're splitting the guys up It was like team Rachel or team Gabby So they had to put Didn't they have to put like Who they wanted to go with in a box Or something?
Starting point is 00:08:05 So I have no idea what the logistics are From what I heard They the producers It was the first time there's ever been to And the producers were confused And they would try to like gauge the guys And be like who are you interested in And the guys would be like both
Starting point is 00:08:20 Because that's like the right thing to say but then it kind of mixed everything up because then some really just had a more strong opinion which of course you do like I would as well totally but the boys from what I gather didn't know that once you didn't get a rose from one you didn't get it from the other one
Starting point is 00:08:37 and so one guy said no to my rose because he thought he could get Gabby's which fair and then it just tumbled into it was literally the most humiliated night was it the night that you were no the night that you were crying on the stairs I cry out all the time. Is this on your crying wall? This night, no. Okay. The stairs was on Clayton's season, but this was probably the worst, like, the worst night in my life. Because, you know, your confidence is already like to these guys. Like me, I'm so nervous. I'm doing this for the first time. And to have people be like, I would rather go home than even date you. It breaks your freaking heart. Three times. Oh my gosh. I was like, it was horrible. So I'm sure. I remembered. Yeah. I got a DM from one of these guys.
Starting point is 00:09:20 that rejected my rose, and I was standing in there. I was thinking about it. It was like a month ago. Oh, M.G. Your season was how many years ago? Two. Okay. And I literally, so I went back to find the message.
Starting point is 00:09:35 He unsent the message, but I have a screenshot, and we're going to read it. We have to, because what the heck? Why would you send him that message? I'm sorry, let's back up. Because I did not know that you could unsend a DM. Apparently. Also, if you're going to send a message like that, which she's also kind of apologizing in a way, say it with your full chest. Hell. Yes. Agreed. This is crazy. You own it and you say, maybe you write back and you say, I am so sorry. That was probably super inappropriate and I'm
Starting point is 00:10:08 sorry that I ever hurt your feelings or something like that. He rejected my rose. Yes, exactly. And then he chose to go home. Like, I wanted him there. I wanted to see what was there. dying to hear what did he say okay so he starts off okay yo what's up rachel comma we're off to a great start that's a good opener so random i know i was literally just thinking about my time at the batch house and all the regrets i'm sorry the thinking in the batch house okay continue sorry he was thinking he was thinking about all this time here okay um and all the regrets i had by not seeing things through i definitely had to reach out because because it's something on my mind and is something I've thought about for a couple years.
Starting point is 00:10:55 What could have been and how fun things could have had slash be, meaning he thinks we could have ended up together. They could so be. Oh, I see what you're saying. That's crazy. So I'm just reaching out to see if you'd be down to chill and grab a drink or two and vibe out. Is that what people say now? And vibe out. Do you say that?
Starting point is 00:11:16 After, he's like, you know what? after I humiliated you. Would you be done at grapidering? And, like, he literally said, I, I felt like I had to reach out or whatever he said. It's been two years. You just lay in bed at night. No, he regrets that. Do you know why?
Starting point is 00:11:36 Everyone had fun. Do you know why he regrets it? Because hello. Oh, thank you, Trista. Thank you. Thank you so much. No, I think he's just like, oh, like, he thinks back at the time and how he totally lost the experience. He regrets it because
Starting point is 00:11:50 he know he made a mistake. I'm like, you didn't even give me a shot. Yeah. And so I will not be giving you a shot now. No. But like, we could have, you know, we could have been something. We could have. Isn't that crazy? I'm so sorry. And here we are at the Bachelor Mansion. That's right. You could have been here with her. The batch house.
Starting point is 00:12:06 I'm sorry, the batch house. I'm thinking about the batch house. He was just thinking. Literally crazy times. It's crazy to like think back. My boyfriend's professor is way too friendly, and now I'm seriously suspicious. Well, wait a minute, Sam, maybe her boyfriend's just looking for extra credit. Well, Dakota, it's back to school week on the OK Storytime podcast, so we'll find out soon.
Starting point is 00:12:32 This person writes, my boyfriend has been hanging out with his young professor a lot. He doesn't think it's a problem, but I don't trust her. Now, he's insisting we get to know each other, but I just want her gone. Now, hold up. Isn't that against school policy? That sounds totally inappropriate. Well, according to this person, this is her boyfriend's former professor and they're the same age.
Starting point is 00:12:50 And it's even more likely that they're cheating. He insists there's nothing between them. I mean, do you believe him? Well, he's certainly trying to get this person to believe him because he now wants them both to meet. So, do we find out if this person's boyfriend really cheated with his professor or not? To hear the explosive finale, listen to the OK Storytime podcast on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast.
Starting point is 00:13:10 Imagine that you're on an airplane and all of a sudden you hear this. Attention passengers, the pilot is having a... An emergency, and we need someone, anyone to land this plane. Think you could do it? It turns out that nearly 50% of men think that they could land the plane with the help of air traffic control. And they're saying like, okay, pull this, do this, pull that, turn this. It's just, I can do it my eyes close. I'm Mani.
Starting point is 00:13:37 I'm Noah. This is Devon. And on our new show, no such thing. We get to the bottom of questions like these. Join us as we talk to the leading expert on overconfidence. Those who lack expertise lack the expertise they need to recognize that they lack expertise.
Starting point is 00:13:54 And then, as we try the whole thing out for real. Wait, what? Oh, that's the run right. I'm looking at this thing. See? Listen to no such thing on the Iheart radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Hi, my name is Ennio Yumanzoor.
Starting point is 00:14:11 And I'm Drew Phillips. And we run a podcast called Emergency Intercom. If you're a crime junkie and you love crimes, we're not the podcast for you. But if you have unmedicated ADHD... Oh my God, perfect. And want to hear people with mental illness, psychobabble. Yes, yes. Then Emergency Intercom is the podcast for you.
Starting point is 00:14:33 Open your free IHeartRadio app. Search Emergency Intercom and listen now. Hey, sis. What if I could promise you you never had to listen to a condescending finance, bro? Tell you how to manage your money again. Welcome to Brown Ambition. This is the hard part when you pay down those credit cards. If you haven't gotten to the bottom of why you were racking up credit or turning to credit cards,
Starting point is 00:14:55 you may just recreate the same problem a year from now. When you do feel like you are bleeding from these high interest rates, I would start shopping for a debt consolidation loan, starting with your local credit union, shopping around online, looking for some online lenders because they tend to have fewer fees and be more affordable. Listen, I am not here to judge. It is so expensive in these streets. I 100% can see how in just a few months
Starting point is 00:15:19 you can have this much credit card debt and it weighs on you. It's really easy to just like stick your head in the sand. It's nice and dark in the sand. Even if it's scary, it's not going to go away just because you're avoiding it. And in fact, it may get even worse. For more judgment-free money advice,
Starting point is 00:15:33 listen to Brown Ambition on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcast, or wherever you get your podcast. Your entire identity has been fabricated. I would love to know what happened that day that he felt like or what did you post or like what? Do you know what I mean? Did you know, was he following you before? He does follow me. So I don't know how long he has been. But I'm like, I have a little bit of like, I don't, I think that was rude. I totally agree. Yeah. Want to give me a chance. You would rather go home than it was week two. We'd met one time. Literally, if you have that regret, then you just freaking live with it. Sorry. I know. I mean, I'm sorry.
Starting point is 00:17:16 I feel bad reading it, but you get me. That's crazy. I totally get you. I honestly, I don't know why after all this time. I know. But the big thing is the unsent portion. The unsent. Really?
Starting point is 00:17:32 He was like waiting for me to see it. And then I did see it. And screenshoted it. Because I think I sent it to like my friend Jill from my season. I'm like, this is. insane. Like, no one knows how big of a deal this is in my world. Yeah. Because I'm like, that was one of the biggest things that's like, whoa, moments are me. And for sure. It just come out of the blue. It's like an onset. Yeah. And message. So on my season, I had one guy who came up to me and before I
Starting point is 00:18:02 even could give him a rose. So I didn't even offer him the rose. He came up to me and said, let me stop. I'm going to leave because I don't think whatever. And I was like, I'm sorry. But But let me at least offer you the rose because if I didn't offer you the rose, then you're completely taking my power away. I think that's what it was. Like, it's these men really want to have power. Because they're so used to, like, being the one to be the pursuer. And then when it's in our hands, I feel like it takes, like, their masculinity away. And when they feel like, oh, I'm not your front runner, I'm just going to leave because I don't want you to reject me.
Starting point is 00:18:41 And that's the way I feel like our guys would like. me and Gabby they were pulling out left and right because it was kind of like I would rather do it before you do it but then I put us in this position where we're like okay now what yeah right it's like they completely take the power away but it's all hindsight it's all hindsight it's 20 20 okay you mentioned Gabby are you so excited to see her on her new show on traders I can't I freaking love traitors I know and I literally when they asked me to do special forces I was like don't they want me on traitors. I would love to see you on traders. Would you do it? I would totally do it. I could totally see you doing next season. 100% do it. Because Wells is on it too. I know. I am so excited to watch. That's going to be good. Honestly, and the show to me, yes, the whole concept of like the lying and the relationships and all of that. But I think also like the fashion is so much fun. I love it. It's like clue. It's like this like old timey. I, I love. not wait. And I also feel like Gabby is like one of the smartest people I know.
Starting point is 00:19:48 Yes. And I feel like people can like underestimate her in a way because she's so funny. Yeah. So then they're not going to see her coming, but she's smarter than everyone there. So I'm excited. Do you think she's going to be a traitor? I actually was thinking about that. I have no idea. I could see her being both. Like I could see her being good. Yeah. I don't know. I feel like Wells could be a traitor too. I see Wells. Yeah. Wells. Love you. Yeah. I see it. No, I don't think there's anything wrong with someone being a traitor. Oh, no, it's part of the game. I totally agree. Someone has to be. And I feel like he's, he could be, he could totally get away with it. I think so too. Wells also has that like he could be play really cool. Yes. And he'll be friends with
Starting point is 00:20:29 everybody. Oh yeah. I mean, he literally his job is to make everyone trust him and tell him their secrets. And you do. You're right. As the bartender. So I mean, he's already got practice, especially with like our season. So yes. I'm excited. to watch and I'm excited to watch you. I can not wait. We were just watching the trailer in the limo. Joe, of course, pulls up the trailer as we were talking. Like, he was asking, everyone was asking questions. And it's fun to talk about, but it is funny because people are like, was it fun?
Starting point is 00:21:02 And I'm like, I don't know if I'd use the word fun. Like, intense? Truly, the hardest thing you probably ever did. Like, did you have a great time? I know. You're drinking awesome. some shooters. You're like, I was sleeping in manure cots.
Starting point is 00:21:17 Exactly. Well, they were manure cots, but there was manure in it in the building. Same thing as far as I'm concerned. I'm like, we filmed on The Bachelor. They're like, here's the champagne and a helicopter. And now they're like, Trista, jump out of the helicopter. Jump back into the helicopter. No champagne.
Starting point is 00:21:39 Champagne for you. Oh, that is hysterical. No, and the cots, so we are sleeping on cots, and I slept next to Brody Jenner. I wish I was sleeping next to Brody Jenner. Actually, maybe I will do special forces just for that. So I'm sleeping next to Brody, and we are like getting our cots ready, like getting our stuff ready, and we look up and we're next to this like rock wall, stone wall, look in and there's, he's like, he's like, This is like a spider condo. Shut up.
Starting point is 00:22:14 I swear it was spiders. Oh, my God. Everywhere. What if they, like, crawled in your ears, but you're sleeping. You literally couldn't think about it because that's the, that is where you sleep. Like, you couldn't think about it. Oh, my gosh. I would have gone crazy if I thought about it.
Starting point is 00:22:30 I mean, but you genuinely were probably so exhausted that when you were like sleeping, weren't you just like, you didn't even care you could have slept on the ground? Because you're going through the most intense physical training. Yeah. And never probably, yeah. Like you're spent, emotionally, mentally, physically, all of the things, you're completely spent. And so, yes, when you hit the cot, you're like, peace out, I'm going to sleep. And it's probably for like two hours.
Starting point is 00:22:53 Yeah, it wasn't for that long. And then they're like, get up again and carry a boulder above your head. I could not do it. I'm so proud of you and I can't wait to watch because Trusted does seem like the star. We were watching the trailer and her interviews are the ones they're playing and are so excited to watch. Definitely, you know, among stars. We're all like, it was an amazing group of people. I'm really, I feel very grateful to have been part of it.
Starting point is 00:23:18 I'm excited to see Allie, too. I know. Because Allie was a previous bachelorette as well. She was? I don't think I've ever met her. You haven't? No. Oh, looking forward to it.
Starting point is 00:23:27 That will happen soon. But, no, she and I definitely had some very special moments on the show. Oh, good. And I hope they show them. I hope so, too. know, like, part of why I did it, and I know we'll wrap in a second, part of why I did it is just relationships, you know, like these are once in a lifetime opportunities. And I really wanted to get the chance to meet some new people. There are a lot of reasons why I did it.
Starting point is 00:23:56 I don't need to go into that now, but it was great to have Allie there. I can't wait to watch. I'm so excited. We're going to be recapping the show. So listen to Almost Famous O'G's because we're going to be talking about it. But of course, Just text me or DM me. Of course. I do have to bring up one more thing. So when I was talking to Joe and Serena, they asked about the Bachelorette group thread that we're on.
Starting point is 00:24:17 Everyone always asks about the group thread. And it's so funny because they were like, did it just blow up when you and Allie were on the show? And I'm like, I don't think we have had anyone texting. I know. In so long. I'm like, maybe they will when the show airs or something. But I was like, no, we've been totally silent.
Starting point is 00:24:36 That's so true. Usually when someone has a baby or someone gets married, birthday. Birthdays haven't been for a while, though. I feel like people kind of fell off. But always when there's a new Bachelorette. And then I feel like that's the biggest thing for me was like initially getting everyone's numbers and like texting everyone. I'm like, oh my God, what do I do? Totally.
Starting point is 00:24:53 But everyone wants to know about the group chat. It's secret. I know. It's a secret. You're right. It's secret. Anyway. So, yeah, we'll just, we'll be chatting when the show aired.
Starting point is 00:25:02 She doesn't give me all the scoop about what you think. But thank you for chatting with me on almost. famous O-Jews. Love you. Thank you, Jess. I love you. My boyfriend's professor is way too friendly, and now I'm seriously suspicious. Wait a minute, Sam.
Starting point is 00:25:22 Maybe her boyfriend's just looking for extra credit. Well, Dakota, luckily, it's back to school week on the OK Storytime podcast, so we'll find out soon. This person writes, my boyfriend's been hanging out with his young professor a lot. He doesn't think it's a problem, but I don't trust her. Now he's insisting we get to know. other, but I just want or gone. Oh, hold up. Isn't that against school policy? That seems inappropriate. Maybe find out how it ends by listening to the okay storytime podcast and the IHeart
