Starting point is 00:00:39 walks into a comedy club answer a new podcast called Wisecrack where a comedian finds himself at the center of a chilling true crime story does anyone know what show they've come to see it's a story it's about the scariest night of my life
Starting point is 00:00:54 this is Wisecrack available now listen to Wisecrack on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. What would you do if one bad decision forced you to choose between a maximum security prison or the most brutal boot camp designed to be hell on earth? Unfortunately for Mark Lombardo, this was the choice he faced. He said, you are a number, a New York State number, and we own you. Listen to shock incarceration on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast.
Starting point is 00:01:30 Let's start with a quick puzzle. The answer is Ken Jennings' appearance on The Puzzler with A.J. Jacobs. The question is, what is the most entertaining listening experience in podcast land? Jeopardy-truthers believe in... I guess they would be kenspiracy theorists. That's right. To give you the answers, and you still blew it. The puzzler. Listen on the...
Starting point is 00:02:00 Hi-heart radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Get fired up, y'all. Season two of Good Game with Sarah Spain is underway. We just welcomed one of my favorite people, an incomparable soccer icon, Megan Rapino, to the show. And we had a blast. Take a listen. Sue and I were, like, riding the lime bikes the other day. And we're like, we're like, people ride bikes because it's fun.
Starting point is 00:02:27 We got more incredible guests like Megan in store. plus news of the day and more. So make sure you listen to Good Game with Sarah Spain on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Brought to you by Novartis, founding partner of IHeart Women's Sports Network. This is the almost famous podcast with IHeartRadio.
Starting point is 00:02:47 Okay, ladies, so we have been recapping Dancing with the Stars every week, Bob and I for our almost famous OG podcast. And I heard and also saw that you guys were actually in the audience for last night's episode and i'm so excited to hear your thoughts so who stood out to you as the person who brought like the most energy in the ballroom joey there's two in our minds there's two joey and um chandler yes yes unbelievable and um it took everything i had
Starting point is 00:03:24 I had to get on that floor and start dancing. And then there was Jen. Jen crawling on her knees across the dance floor. Oh, I was dying when that took a lot. Who was crawling across? Jen, that grew up. No, she kneed her way. Yeah, but the like running knee thing.
Starting point is 00:03:40 Yeah, that I was thinking that that's an orthopedics dream. She had knee pads. I saw them under the stocking thing, but she needed to. I know. But everybody did a great job. It was so much time. I have to tell you, we were sitting next to. I was sitting right next to, now I can't remember
Starting point is 00:03:56 Mark Ballast. Mark, Mark. And we chatted and it was so fun. The guy next to him is a guy, Maddie. Maddie Steven, who is a television guy from Australia. A dancer. And a professional dancer. And so we all were saying what we would score.
Starting point is 00:04:16 We were all getting it right. Like we were. I could be a judge next. I said, Mark's going to judge next week. I said, you need some help? He goes, you could do it. I mean, it was so fun. I love being there.
Starting point is 00:04:28 When you're there in person, it's even better. Yes. You know, we feel the energy. Totally. And it was rock on, so I knew all the words to the songs. Oh, my gosh, right? I have to tell you, I went up to Alona right before it began because my neighbor has been successfully fighting cancer.
Starting point is 00:04:48 Oh. And she had said to me, I love that she's on Dance Who in the Stars. if you could just like say hello to me. So I went up to her and told her and she did a video for my neighbor. I almost started crying. That is amazing. I was so sad that she was so sad last night, but I do have to say that I really feel like because she was so vulnerable,
Starting point is 00:05:11 I think that people are going to be voting for her a lot more. You know what I love about her? And I was talking to Mark about this, that she is not a dancer's body. She's not that petite life, you know, blow her away with one breath kind of girl. Yeah. And he said, I asked him about that because that's how I feel like I am. And Susan, you know, we're not petite little people.
Starting point is 00:05:34 Yeah. And he said that you can be just as good a dancer. You just have to learn how to work with your partner. And I love that she is representing the atypical dancer. I don't know if you guys saw her post. She did a post on Instagram, on social media, about how. she was having like a bad um like body conscious day and she talked about how everyone does and none of us are different and and how we should all love our bodies for what it gives us and you know like and i was
Starting point is 00:06:10 like yes i love you i love what she represents and and i think we've all this world has come a long way it really has you used to have to be wafer thin and it looked like a super stick model yeah and now they love bodies yeah there's bodies come in all sizes and i actually didn't know that she had i didn't see that on social media but i seen her in person and knowing that you know she's a rugby player and she's solid and she's yeah you know a big strong woman i think it made her even more fabulous that she could be so vulnerable and doing this with such wonderful, you know, applaud. And also having that night that you haven't been raised, the bars going up and up and up, and you're getting better scores, and you have that letdown.
Starting point is 00:07:02 Then you can just get it over with and now move on because you're going to get even better once you get that out of your system. Totally. I totally agree. Okay. Who do you predict will be in the top of top three? Joey, Chandler. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:07:19 And I think maybe Jen could be. Love it. Love it. How much fun would it be to have two people from Bachelor Nation who, like, are intertwined, you know? Like, it's so crazy. I'm so excited. And then next year to be me and Kathy on there. I'll be lifting, Susan, you know, sliding me to my legs as she does a somersault for that.
Starting point is 00:07:46 I'm getting on that show on. getting on that show. This girl is desperate to be on the show. I've been dancing all my life. Yes, I know Leslie was too. I know and Leslie as well. There you go. We and Leslie. Can I tell you the best part for me last there? There was so many, I mean, it was fabulous to be there.
Starting point is 00:08:02 But Val, who Susan knows. Yes. Val came up and he goes, hi, Kathy. And I said, Val, I just want to dance with you. I'll be, he put his arms around me and we cha-chat. It was like... I love it. I can die a happy woman now. Right. Ch-cha-jad with Val.
Starting point is 00:08:17 Oh my gosh, for real. I remember dancing with Val just eight steps and he stops and he goes, wait a minute, Susan, I lead. I go, yeah, you're going to make me cry. I know you are. Because most men can't dance and you always try to lead, or at least I do. Okay, who do you feel like got maybe a score that they didn't deserve or a score that should have been higher? Wait a minute. Gene, his first story. He said it was freaking out. I was terrible.
Starting point is 00:08:51 I told him he was handing out Tutsi roll pops. One for you and one for you. And many, I can't remember who it was when he gave a five. He did, but then who said he gave a five to? And I asked Mark and Mark said, you know, it's some, it's how the dancers make you feel as a judge on that moment. No, true. Yeah. But I didn't know. And I don't have I told you this.
Starting point is 00:09:15 He told me that to be a professional dancer, you have to know, what do you call it? The whole, oh, I can't remember the word of you, but it's like you have to know all the moves and all the way they work and what's included in a dance so that you can teach it. I just remember the word of you use. And I was like, okay, that's another, that's another reason I'll never be a professional thing. I pretty much think most of the scores were pretty fair. There might have been a couple that. Yeah. I mean, there was somewhere they gave.
Starting point is 00:09:45 a five and you know we might have given a six or a seven yeah but for the most part they really know what they're after just but i will tell you um what i love about that show is the judges know they know when to be kind and they know when to hit hard because they know the level of the ability and they're and they're going to you know they're going to push them harder and they know when a dancer like a couple of dancers that went home last night they weren't they weren't they didn't dance you know and they did the best they could they did the best good but they were so kind to them and I love that that they know when to push and they know when to back off yeah I mean it was time like Bob and I had like we we predicted that those two would go home yeah but um it was time to
Starting point is 00:10:39 actually start dancing and God bless them you know they are at a point in their lives where their bodies just don't move like they used to. And they got up there, though, and they dressed the part. They did the part. You're right. Kudos to you. Yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:10:53 I mean, even though they're not successful dancers, in my mind, they're successful because they put themselves out there and they gave it what they could. And that's who could ask for more. It warrants your heart. It really does. It warms your heart. I agree. I agree.
Starting point is 00:11:07 Did you feel like when they were saying goodbye? I love when I was on the show. I love how everyone would gather around. You bond with these people for all these months. And like us, when we met on the show as well as you. It's hard to bond with people and you become friends and you care. Yeah. They were all supportive of each other.
Starting point is 00:11:30 I love that. Yeah, I love that everyone is supportive. Obviously, people know, they know who are the best dancers, right? But the camaraderie that is so evident, especially when you're seeing, sitting there watching. They're all, you know, backslopping everybody and hugging everyone. It's just great. I just hope Kelsey's home practicing because Joey's going to want to dance.
Starting point is 00:11:52 Yeah. And they're going to need to get some drums that you can want to put the drums. So did he really drum last night? Yeah. And he said, I couldn't tell. If it was fake. And the fact that he said he hadn't picked up drumsticks since he was 13. That skit was really cute.
Starting point is 00:12:11 Really cute. Okay. Is there anything that happened behind the scenes that we didn't see on the show that, you know, you can share with us? That was fun to see. We saw it all, right? You saw it. I mean, I will say the only thing that I saw, and you saw, too, after the show, all the people from Bachelor Nation that were there, and there were a lot. There was a lot of us there. They all came up. Everybody was hugging us, hugging each other, hugged them. Oh, I love it. The support. Demi, little Demi was with us. I love her. And everyone was just that.
Starting point is 00:12:47 If anyone ever questions the, again, the camaraderie of those of us who have been lucky enough to be part of Bachelor Nation. It's like, it's like a family. It's a family. And we all were hugging and how have you been and catching up. And that was not on camera. Yeah. Yeah. No, I love that.
Starting point is 00:13:05 I wish I, I'm hoping you guys took pictures and you'll be posting them if I haven't seen them already. But yes, I love. that it makes me even more because I'm loving this season want to go to see you live episode yes yes yes well Kathy and I are going to be laid up for the next week or so we're going to have a little fun things done and we wanted to get there this week just in case wait you're going to be laid up what does this mean oh we're getting the CO2 lazy So we're going to look like burn victims. And I want all those people who keep writing on my, you have no idea, Trista. I keep getting things on my Instagram. Oh, she looks so much better in the show. And somebody wrote people write all the time.
Starting point is 00:14:11 It's because I did her hair. They said I had cheek implants. These are mine. There's no chicken blins. Then someone said I had my nose done. I mean, I said not yet, but. Not yet. I said stay true.
Starting point is 00:14:26 We're each other's nurse and then Nancy's going to come up and take care of us. Oh, my God. From our show, our dear friend Nancy's coming to help us. I love that you guys have each other to do this with. It is definitely something that I am, as I'm getting. Holder. I'm turning 52 in a couple of weeks. Want to trade? I mean, seriously.
Starting point is 00:14:47 We'll trade with you. Hold on. Hold on. Hold on for a trade. I mean, don't you always do that in the mirror? I know. It's just a little, it's not like a huge facelift. It's not a whole, we're not doing that. I mean, I'd like to.
Starting point is 00:15:04 Yeah, I know. I should have made. I would love to look permanently surprised. Oh my gosh. I'm so excited for you guys. Hey, I want to say thank you. Hi, Blay. How are you, Trista?
Starting point is 00:21:00 I am just amazing. How are you? I am good. I'm very good, actually. Very good. We've never met before and have always thought, well, how is it? that possible considering we live in the same state and now the same city literally literally and we know what's crazy i got a story for you're the whole reason i ended up it's a long robe i ended
Starting point is 00:21:17 up on the bashrette because my mom i grew up in bailey and so my mom got really into the show watching your season because um your now husband was from evergreen right and so it's like he he's from four collins or for collins okay but at the time was he a firefighter and was it for he was a firefighter and veil and veil that's what it was veil veil veil which is like right down the street from us So she got super into that season and then she watched it and then she's the one who obviously, you know, put me up to be on it. So, so yeah, big pinions. And I watched your Beyonce, Giannina, on Love's Blind. And congratulations on that beautiful baby boy.
Starting point is 00:21:54 Thank you. That's actually where we were. We were over at the baby list store here in L.A. So that's why we were running late. We were doing a bunch of baby stuff. Totally get it. I literally said to my producer that he's probably changing in diaper. So it's all good. Exactly.
Starting point is 00:22:07 But thank you. Yeah, he's the best. Oh, aren't you? Yeah. Oh, yes. I'm so cute, Dad. So, but no, I'm happy to, first of all, we need to grab dinner one of these days in Denver. Please, please. And honestly, I, I, you know, I don't get out and dance that much. I've got two teenagers. I'm going to turn 52 in a couple weeks.
Starting point is 00:22:28 So, but I'm like, I need to just go out to one of Blake's events and get my groove on because, hello. Oh, my gosh, VIP Trista in the. Oh, yeah. That'd be so fun. We'll figure it out. I love it. And if you ever need a babysitter, you know, I love a baby. Noted.
Starting point is 00:22:48 I'm going to remember you said that. Okay. You should. You should. Okay, so you were at Dancing with the Stars last night. I was. How was? Is this the first time you've ever been in the audience?
Starting point is 00:23:01 It's actually the second. I went for Hannah B season. Early in season for Hannah B. And it's just, It's the most fun live show I've ever been to. It's incredible. The production, it's just, it's so fun to watch and how good they are, how quick they are. There's nothing like a live show like that.
Starting point is 00:23:16 It's so fun. I totally agree. The energy. And since, so I was on the first show, the first season of Dancing with the Stars. That was season one. Yeah. Season one, I was the very first person ever booted from Dancing with Stars. That is the other one about.
Starting point is 00:23:33 A boxer. Beat me in a dancing competition. And I was a professional dancer. So there you go. Anyway, so they only had, like, the lower level. They didn't have the upper level when I was on. So I can't even imagine how exciting it is to be in the ballroom. It's so cool.
Starting point is 00:23:53 And, like, you, like, get nervous for the dance. You seem like warming up and everything in you're watching. And you're like, oh, my God, they're counting down. You know, I'm like, oh, God, I can't imagine what that feels like. It's a fun environment for sure. True story. And actually, I was thinking about this because I don't know if, you met her last night or know her,
Starting point is 00:24:09 the girl who does the Bachelor Data Instrictive account. So I saw her stories and how she was posting kind of like behind the scenes of people waiting to do their dance and how it like counts down and everything. And it took me back to when I was
Starting point is 00:24:25 on the show because you don't know what the what do they call it, the packages that they're going to play right before you start dancing. And so if it's anything, like dramatic or emotional or stressful, like all of a sudden you're ready to dance, right? You're on the stage.
Starting point is 00:24:45 You're ready to dance. Ready to go. And then they play this package. And you're like, well, crap, that's messing with my mind, you know? What are you saying? Because some of the contestants would watch the packages and then some contestants would just be like looking at the floor and not watch it. So I think there's some strategy there for sure.
Starting point is 00:25:03 I bet. I mean, it's hard to like pull away when you're like, okay. okay, what are they saying about me? Because I want to know what they're saying about me to people at home. But then at the same time, like the laser focus people, hopefully, I think, get through it easier. So I want to know some juicy stuff. So we've got some pretty good chemistry going on between some of the couples, including Brooks and Gleb. Can you see that in person?
Starting point is 00:25:31 Like when you're there, can you like feel their energy, see their energy? Or do you think it's like a, I feel like people have. like throwing it out there that it's like a PR stunt. I don't believe that personally, but what are your thoughts? That's a good question. I wasn't sure I'd, you know, I'd heard and obviously, you know, you hear a lot about it and stuff. And so I was keeping an eye out for it.
Starting point is 00:25:49 And I didn't notice too much until like the end. And it's when they're like all standing out there and they're announcing like who's safe and whatnot. So they announced Brooks and Gleb and he like picked her up and hugged. And they got like this close and that literally looked like they were going to kiss. Like everybody around me was like, oh, it was like one of those moments like, ooh. So I do think there's some chemistry there for sure.
Starting point is 00:26:09 So we'll have to see how that plays out when it comes to like they're dancing. But that moment was huge for us. Because I wasn't the only way that noticed. Like all of us were like looking at each other like, dang, do you see that? Like they almost just made out, you know? So I don't think there's some real chemistry there. I think it's real. What about the tongue?
Starting point is 00:26:22 Like, did you guys see that? Could you see it from your ankle? I didn't notice it live. I think it happened too fast when they were facing the other way. And then I saw it on Twitter and I was like, whoa. How did I miss this? That was interesting. Yeah, that was interesting.
Starting point is 00:26:35 Yes, I was like, okay, well, I guess they're getting the rock star on, but yeah, that was really funny. Okay, what about because, you know, of course, she's Bachelor Nation, um, Jen and Sasha, like, what is it with their chemistry? First of all, first part of the question, second, was Jonathan there? Because I've been like hearing all these things about are Jen and Sasha, like, getting, you know, close. But then again, she's like getting closer with Jonathan since her show ended. So what are your thoughts on that? Was Jonathan there? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:27:09 So Jonathan was there. Jonathan was there. Okay. We weren't sitting in Joey's guest section and they were in Jen's guest section. Okay. But I was the first time I met Jen and she actually came out with us afterwards and we all to drink and stuff. And I just like a little spitfire.
Starting point is 00:27:23 She's like energy, you know? She's really small, but she's got all this energy. And so I liked her a lot. And I will say at the beginning, she was kind of like, you know, how all the dancers are kind out there at the beginning and kind of just like working or whatever, you know, walking. I did see her look up at Jonathan a couple times, give him some sweet little, like, you know, like, you know, like, waves. So I was like, dang, you know, because I wasn't sure either.
Starting point is 00:27:45 I was another thing that was like, maybe they're just having fun, you know, but I think there might be a little something there, you know, but what do I know. It's just from what I've seen, yes. Right. I mean, that's all you can do. That's all you can comment on is what you see. But what about her and Sasha? Do you think that there's anything there?
Starting point is 00:27:59 So there, I didn't see as much, obviously, they're amazing dancers together. Yeah. But I didn't see as much, yeah, as much chemistry there as I did, it seemed like with her and Jonathan. I'll say that. Yeah. Hi, my name is Enya Yumanzoor. And I'm Drew Phillips. This is the hard part when you pay down those credit cards, if you haven't gotten to the bottom of why you were racking up credit or turning to credit cards, you may just recreate the same problem a year from now. When you do feel like you are bleeding from these high interest rates, I would start shopping for a debt consolidation loan, starting with your local credit union, shopping around online, looking for some online lenders because they tend to have fewer fees and be more affordable. Starting point is 00:33:05 I mean, he came right out the gate and was like, because I think Danny and Whitney went first. And he was just, it's like he was drooling over Whitney. Over Whitney and Danny. Like he was kind of like, it was so funny to watch live too because you would, you know, when you're sitting there, you're watching like, the producers and like Bruno and you know and they're just like oh my god you can see him like oh boy a couple times so that was kind of funny actually it was some of the things he was doing
Starting point is 00:33:32 like oh my god so who did you go you said you went out afterwards who all went out with you and what what happened i want to know all the things it was just all the bachelor nation people and then joey and kelsey which i've seen i've hung out with joey and kelsey a few times they've come to a couple of my shows i love them to death they're so great to together. So great. That was another cool thing was Kelsey was sitting right in front of me and she was like, you can really tell like how much he cares for Joey and stuff because she was like so nervous. She was like, I know he's going to crush it. Even at the like elimination, she's like, I know he's going to get, you know, he's going to go. Yeah. But he was so nervous for him and stuff. And so that was really cool to see. Um, so hung out with them. We hung out with Jen and her brother. Um, and all of Joey's, she had, Joey had some friends in from like college at the show. Oh, I love it. Yeah, I got to talk to them. So. yeah it's just a it's a really good group a really good group of people this year and jason and was cat there or that was not there it was jason uh and then justin was there oh that's right yeah yeah so yeah so it was it was just a fun group and we just all kind of hung out and had some yeah i had a little headache this morning uh so

Starting point is 00:35:11 what I know about you and just you know who you're friends with from the franchise but the biggest thing to me you know obviously I met my husband and we've created a beautiful family
Starting point is 00:35:21 and all that But I love the connections that the show has given me that it's like a family, you know. And so to be able to go out and support people at this live energetic super fun show and then go out with a bunch of friends, isn't that the best? Like, I just think it's amazing. It is like a like a dysfunctional family, you know? Yeah. We all love each other in the same sense.
Starting point is 00:35:45 You know what I mean? So it's always like I love like I can go to, you know, I'll play in a bunch of different cities all the country and Bachelor Nation people come out and support me and stuff. Does Giannina feel like she is fitting in well with all the Bachelor Nation peeps?
