In early 1988, federal agents raced to track down the gang they suspect of importing millions of dollars worth of heroin into New York from Asia.
Had 30 agents ready to go with shotguns and rifles and you name it.
Five, six white people pushed me in the car. I'm going, what about that out?
Basically, your stay-at-home moms were picking up these large amounts out.

Hey, it's your favorite Jersey girl, Gia Judice. Welcome to Casual Chaos, where I share my story.
This week, I'm sitting down with Vanderpump Roll Star, Sheena Shea. I don't really talk to either of them
if I'm being honest, there will be an occasional text one way or the other from me to
Ariana, maybe a happy birthday from Ariana to me. I think the last time I talked to Tom,
it was like, congrats on America's Got Talent. This is a combo you don't want to miss. Listen to

This is the Almost Famous Podcast with IHart Radio.
Hi, everybody. Welcome back to the Almost Famous Famous.
Miss OG podcast. It's Trista and Bob, who, you know, finally is here. We've been waiting for a long time.
So sorry. So sorry about that. It's fine. I was just doing work, which is what I can do in any
moment of any day. Anyway, and we are so excited because we're going to recap the first episode
of season two of the Golden Bachelor, one of my favorites. And then with Mel Owens, obviously
he's been in the news
since he did that podcast
and there was talk about him
maybe not doing it. So I'm glad
it's still going and I thought the episode
was awesome. I am really
excited for this season. I am too.
Yeah, you know, I got to be honest.
I don't know what it was
but part of me was expecting not to like Mel.
I don't know if it was because of all the noise
we've heard around, you know, the podcast
and all that stuff. But I don't know
if they coached him. I don't know if this was his own call
or not.
I honestly think it's probably a combination of both, but he came right out and addressed the elephant in the room right away, you know, a couple of the ladies as they were getting out of the limos said some things to him. And he was like, I am so sorry. That was so insensitive. You know, and I get it. I mean, if anyone has said dumb things in passing and didn't realize it would hurt somebody, that's totally me. I mean, I've done that a million times and I mean no ill to anybody. And, man, I've said some things and I think it's all funny because I make fun of me. You know, I would make fun of myself in my own age.
And so I guess in turn, you know, but whatever it was, he owned it and it's over, right?
I think he squashed it.
It's over.
I hope it's over.
I hope so.
Yeah, I don't want them to rehash it every single week.
But yes, I'm done with it.
He went into the mansion and said, I am so sorry for my comments.
Yeah.
There's no age or number to spirit and all of that.
So, but before we get into the episode, Ashley and Ben did a little, what do we call it,
Fantasy League for the Golden Bachelor on Bracketology, which I had no idea about, which is actually
so much fun.
I didn't either.
I don't play Big Brother.
I watch Big Brother.
And I totally would have done that with Big Brother had I known.
So anyway, we have brackets on Bracketology.
Yes.
And we wanted to get in on the action too.
So Bob, do you want to go first?
And of course, this is not sponsored.
This is just for fun.
you know, we're doing this just for fun, picking our picks, and we're going all the way to the end.
And this is before we watch the show.
I mean, I will say, I got real confused, and I told our producer, while we were waiting for you,
my brain is not functioning that well these days.
So I'm sorry for my confusion, but I had watched a teeny tiny bit, like just the limo entrances.
Yeah.
But we hadn't seen when we made our predictions.
Right.
Any of the episodes, you know, the good stuff.
So we're going, we're fast-forwarding all the way to hometown picks.
And we are in the first impressions bracket, which is like the most traditional bracket.
Okay.
So why don't you start and tell me and I'll say the same what kind of went into your decision-making.
Yeah.
Did you think about looks, career names?
Did you study the trailer and the clips?
Tell me all the things.
So I will be honest.
I looked at, I think my, my evaluation.
criteria probably was looks if I looked in their bio or whatever it was that like
whatever their little kind of synopsis was and it said that they were active right if
that was an important thing to them totally yep and that was important because I don't
know Mel I don't know anything about Mel other than the podcast right and the fact that
he was a former football player and I think I told you Trista that one of my buddies who's also a
former NFL player knows him or knew him years ago and so I had nothing to go on
So I was like, okay, and this is the last time, I promise this will be the last time we talk about
this, but he's like, I don't want any fake hips and any of this.
So I'm like, okay, he wants active people, right?
So in my mind that went into it, looks went into it, and then self-image of what I think
he sees himself as went into it too, right?
So I was like, who do I think this guy.
Like who he would want to be with?
Who would he want to be with, right?
And then-
Who he would want to have in photos next to him.
Yes, yeah.
Yeah, like who he wanted and who's got something going on that he would respect and admire
career-wise?
Because I know professional football guys, man, they, you know, they've reached the pinnacle
and they expect everyone else to reach it too, right?
It's just the way, it's the nature of the beast.
And I love that.
So that's kind of what went into it for me.
And I was guessing after a while at, you know, as we got, as we went through these rose
ceremonies, I was guessing because I was sight unseen on a lot of it.
But I feel like after watching last night.
night's episode. I feel like my picks could be pretty good. Awesome. Okay. So for me, what went into it is
I looked back at the trailers and like the previews that they've put out so far. And at first,
you know, I told you about my confusion. I thought we were just picking five people. Yeah. So I picked,
I picked one based on the fact that she's the twin sister of somebody else in the franchise. Okay. Yep,
And then, and we'll get into that.
But we won't actually because I don't have her going all the way.
But that was that first time.
And then I looked at the trailers and the like preview of the season that they've put out.
And I was like, okay, who is in these previews?
That's smart.
That's very smart.
I should have done that.
Didn't even think about it.
So I looked at the previews.
And that's kind of what I based like the where I should get my, my bucket from.
like who I should pull from the bucket.
And then kind of used a little bit of what you were saying, like, where do they live?
If they lived in California, they kind of got some bonus points because I think that I, as someone
who has a kid in high school, I don't think he's going to want to move.
I think his kid is probably a junior or senior.
So it seems like he's not going to like move just not that he couldn't move until later.
But anyway, I was thinking California.
I thought that was a big criteria for me too, by the way.
I was thinking easily commutable, if they're not in California, Seattle, maybe, you know, Vegas, maybe, because
there's a couple of ladies in Vegas. So, yeah, I was thinking to see. And I know there are women who
would move, but I feel like Teresa and Gary, like, kind of prove this. It's really hard when you're
their age and your family is established where they're established and you don't want to leave
your family and your grandkids. Do you know my dentist? So I was at my dentist appointment today,
just as a side note. And I was watching, I was watching the last part of the
the episode because and she she as I walked in she's like oh what are you doing so I shut it off
and she goes uh well um what are you doing and I said oh I'm just watching a show that I have to talk
about tonight and she goes golden bachelor and I said yeah I go are you I go now I know I can't watch it
while you're cleaning my teeth and uh and she goes it's just such a shame what happened with
the last couple she's like why did they have to try and get married and live together like
just you know it would have been so great to have that companionship and then they could have
worked it out over time. She's like, no one's moving when they got grandkids and kids. And I'm like,
yeah, good point. And she was probably 55, maybe 60, you know, and had that opinion. And so I was
like, wow, okay, that's, that's good. That's informative. I'd already have my picks in, but thankfully
she was thinking like me. Okay. Okay. So who are your picks? Who are your picks for hometowns?
Let's go one at a time. And before we do, let's make sure that our producer, Heather,
keeps close track of these picks because I think we should have some type of a wager,
not a creepy weird, not a Ben and Ashley type of, you know.
Yeah, no, we don't need to be giving each other shoulder massages because I don't think
Ryan would like that.
I don't think Jess would like it either.
To be honest, Canyon would love it.
She'd be like, oh, great.
Now at least he's touching somebody else and leave me alone.
She says it all the time.
But I'm not as worried about her wrath as I am of the silent and deadly man that I had
I was a roommate 22 years ago, so we're not doing that.
Wait, Easton says Ben gives the best, oh, I guess Ben gives the best massages.
I did get a nice deep tissue massage from him once, you know, all over body massage.
And I will say, it was weird.
No, I'm just kidding.
It was delightful.
Okay, you know what we could do?
We could do, why don't we do?
And this is not a sponsor of our show, but maybe we could make them one, the app that you
can order someone a massage at their home.
Have you ever done that?
What do you mean?
What do you mean through the app?
There's an app, and you can get them all the time.
There's an app, and you can get a massage, and they come to your home.
They set up a massage table in your home.
Oh, yeah.
They're like all licensed massage therapists, and they come to the house.
So if you win, I'll order you one of those.
Or you can go conventional.
That's okay.
Let's just not do four seasons, right?
Because I don't want to miss my diapers and mortgage for the month.
So we'll just do something like that, though.
I'll get you a massage, and you can get me one.
Yep.
Okay, done.
So when I get mine, just so you know, because I'm having a,
have a feeling I'm going to get in this thing. Okay. So who are your four for hometowns?
Okay. So I don't want to have, this is a spoiler alert to everybody, because I happen to know
that all of mine made it through. So I'm going to say that part. Okay. I'll give you one of the time.
I'm going to give you one of the time in the order. Hold on. No, come on, hurry. Let's go.
I think Jerry. Jerry is a hometown pick. Okay. Jerry got the first impression rose last night.
Yep. Based on that, she's not going to make it that far.
but go ahead.
Valid.
Monica B.
Okay.
Nicole.
Which one's Monica B?
The dentist or the flight attendant?
Yes, yes, yes.
Yes.
Nicole, who is from Miami.
Kissy McGoo.
Hot lips, hula hand, Nicole.
You've heard all the names because we called you the kissing bandit.
Go ahead.
I did get called all those names.
So welcome to the club, Nicole.
And Carol, that's my last hometown pick.
So I've got Jerry, Monica B, Nicole, and Carol.
You go.
Okay.
Okay, I've got Roxanne.
Oh, nice big.
Roxanne, just I thought in one of the trailers, there was long brown hair.
I think it turned out to be somebody else, but it's okay.
Roxanne.
Nicole, we share that sentiment.
The dancer, the former Dallas Mavericks cheerleader.
Former dancer with the gorgeous blue eyes.
Yeah, that's a good one.
Gorgeous blue eyes.
That's a really good one.
And Carol.
Okay.
So we're, Carol and Nicole are two that we're sharing in the top four.
Okay.
So what's your top three, Fantasy Suite?
Fantasy Suites.
Jerry, again.
Yep.
Nicole.
Okay.
And Carol.
Okay.
I've got Nicole, Carol, and Cindy.
Okay.
What are your final two?
Got to be honest, I'm really upset with myself on the Cindy thing right now.
I'm really, I'm really thinking that.
Yeah.
And you know, another one.
Debbie, Debbie, who didn't, first time she found love was 45.
She's a fitness professional.
I liked her, too.
I know.
I'm so mad that I didn't pick her because she lives in Denver, and I should have just voted for my Denver girl.
You should have, because historically, you people do pretty well in there in that town.
So, yeah, Carol, Jerry, Nicole, and you have Carol, Cindy, Nicole.
Okay, I want to switch it up.
Now I want to go to you for your final two picks.
Okay.
I've got Carol and Cindy.
Wow.
I got Carol and Nicole.
Oh, boy.
Okay, do we both have the same final pick?
Ready?
On the count of three.
On three.
One, two, three.
Carol.
You didn't say it on three.
Wait.
I thought you said one.
Two, three.
Carol.
What was I supposed to do?
We were supposed to say it at the same time.
Oh, okay.
I thought you meant.
So was it on three or are we going to say it on three?
Okay.
Anyway.
That's in every movie that they do that, by the way.
That's right.
So we both think Carol's the winner.
We both picked Carol.
Oh my gosh, that's funny.
So how we're going to determine is the number two and number three.
Yeah, yeah.
Because, yeah, that's really going to come down to it.
Now, how did you, okay, what was the driving?
Because neither one of us knew anything about these ladies.
What was the, and I will tell you this, last night, when we start talking about the show,
actually, I'll tell you one of my sleeper picks that I really thought was going to go far.
and she got sent home the first night.
And then when I went back through my stuff,
I was like, oh, wait a minute, I didn't choose her.
And I was shocked.
So I had her getting in the, wait, did I have her getting in the first one?
I didn't.
So I'm shocked by that.
Because from the pictures, I'm like, oh, that girl for sure.
So what I was thinking, I mean, this is very superficial, right?
But I was thinking, oh, he's going to choose.
um you know just based on on those comments i mean it's horrible that that's what i was doing
but i'm like i got this guy dialed i got this guy dialed i'm looking at anybody close to 70 i'm
like oh he's probably not picking them but then then i started thinking the antithesis theory
maybe because he said these things now he wanted to prove to everybody that he wasn't that guy
right so he's going to keep a couple picks that maybe are a little bit older or maybe don't
look as young or whatever as he.
And so, you know, I think I started messing with my mind.
I got it in my own head.
I think it would have been much easier
if I would have just stuck with my original theory.
So it's coming down to points for us.
We both got Carol.
I'm Jorge Ramos.
And I'm Paola Ramos.
Together we're launching The Moment,
a new podcast about what it means to live through a time
as uncertain as this one.
We sit down with politicians,
I would be the first immigrant mayor in generations,
but 40% of New Yorkers were born outside of this country.
Artists and activists, I mean, do you ever feel demoralized?
I might personally lose hope.
This individual might lose the faith.
But there's an institution that doesn't lose faith.
And that's what I believe in.
To bring you death and analysis from a unique Latino perspective.
There's not a single day that Paola and I don't call or text each other,
sharing news and thoughts about what's happening in the country.
This new podcast will be a way to make that ongoing intergenerational conversation public.

Hey, I'm Jay Shetty, and I'm the host of the on-purpose podcast.
Today, I'm joined by Emma Watson.
Emma Watson.
Emma Watson has apparently quit acting.
Watson has announced she's retiring from acting. Has anyone else noticed that we haven't seen Emma
Watson in anything in several years? Emma Watson is opening up the truth behind her five-year break
from acting. Watson said she wasn't very happy. Was acting always something you were going to do?
I was using acting as a way of escaping to feel free. My parents, it wasn't just the divorce,
it was just like the continuing situation of living between two different houses and two different
lives and two different sets of values, the career and the life that looks like the dream,
but are you really happy? Fame has given me this extraordinary power. It's also given me
a lot of responsibility. Listen to On Purpose with Jay Shetty on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts,

We're getting a little bit older and it just kind of felt like the window could be closing.

Okay, so moving on to the recap.
Yes.
I just, in general, I feel like, you know,
the show is with a whole new production team now,
and I think there was some, like, curiosity
as to whether or not it would look the same,
feel the same, be the same format, all of that.
I feel like, in general, it really is the same,
everything, except for they did the rose ceremony outside by the pool.
Yep.
And then I feel like the ITMs kind of have a more like sophisticated look to them.
Like in the background, it was really pretty and very high definition.
Well, the other thing that I thought was interesting was, as you recall, we were always
battling daylight.
Like, we were moving through the night because they wanted the appeal or the appearance, I
should say, to be that it was still nighttime. And we would get done at 4.45 in the morning, right?
Sun's coming up. These ladies and Mel clearly worked through the night. I mean, the sun was up.
But you know what? I think that happened in Golden Bachelor 1. I want to say that they, yeah,
I feel like there was another one of these that that was something that happened, that they moved on, or they kept
going until until that kind of i i felt sorry for the goldens i mean i totally did i am like
come on i mean i'm i'm like if i'm in bed by nine 30 i'm so happy and i can't even imagine
it is and it's a lot because it's not just you're at home in your jammies like staying up late
you're like on there's television cameras everywhere so you're not just chilling watching a
movie right the women are wearing heels and dresses and it's like yes they're on their
feet all night and it's just yeah i mean you're you're having some drinks you know i know it's not like
it used to be but you know they're having some drink and i feel like that's that's exhausting for
anybody and as a 50-some-year-old man i can tell you mel had to be exhausted because i go to bed
every night around nine o'clock yes yeah right seriously oh okay what did oh yeah the furniture
it definitely looked more monitored they have definitely done some some things to change up the
interior, which I actually really liked.
I thought it looked good.
It looked really good.
Yeah.
And the limo paces were a little speedier than normal.
I felt like there wasn't a lot of time spent on each person's schick,
or whatever.
Which I'm happy about because I hate the schick.
And so I was actually, I was happy with them kind of motoring through that.
There was only the one woman on the, on the motorcycle who I really thought she was
adorable and I loved her story and I liked their connection to.
in fact when I after watching that first episode I'm like oh I should have had her in my final
I know same same but um but I really like her she could be a sleeper she and Debbie could both be
sleepers but she's not a sleeper she gets the first um yeah one-on-one so I don't think she's a sleeper
I think she's definitely coming out the gate like you know she's in fuego fire yeah and and all
the women were saying we think that you're going to get the first impression rose because
that motorcycle entrance was amazing
And I think they really connected on like the active lifestyle thing, you know, like her 51
trophies or whatever.
Well, and then she got into her story about her family.
Holy smokes.
I mean, that was, wasn't that crazy?
I literally went like like this when she said that her husband showed up and took her son.
Well, the first part.
I actually walked into our bedroom and told Canyon, I'm like, when you watch this show,
you are going to die about this woman's story.
she goes in to give birth for her first child the most exciting and a mom can say this more than
a dad even but and terrifying moment of your life as an adult and he just doesn't show up and disappears
it's like what the hell like I honestly was like if this dude is still around we should go find him
and roll him you know and he passed but it's like she and she forgave him which I think you know
it was pretty crazy.
But yeah, so then you had a little bit of history about Mel's life.
You see him with his sons interacting.
They show some history and some footage of him playing football, and he was a baller.
I mean, he was obviously a pro football player.
But his sons seemed like really sweet kids and like they have a nice relationship with their dad,
which I thought was nice to see.
Yeah.
I love that.
Yeah.
I love that dialogue between him and his boys.
You can tell that they have a really close relationship.
Yeah.
they are excited for him and, you know, want him to find happiness.
So I thought that was really, really sweet.
And he said that he's only been in love once in his life, which I kind of found hard
to believe being that he had a professional football career.
And maybe he's just being honest that he had relationships, but not like, you know,
something that he had with his ex-wife.
Right, right.
So that was a little shocking to me, not that it matters.
But I was just like, well, that's interesting.
Yeah.
But then Cheryl rolls in on that motorcycle.
That could be the second time.
Who knows?
It could have been love at first sight for him.
A true story.
It also could be a red flag.
So we'll see what happens, what transpires.
Do you think that they're going to get engaged, whoever he picks?
If it's Carol.
And we're right?
If we're right and it's Carol, then yes.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
I think so, too.
I think, I think, you know, like,
One of the things I liked about his package was he was kind of vulnerable.
You know, he was like, I miss the companionship and I miss having someone with me all the time.
And I like being in a relationship.
And it was like, you know, I think he was really, obviously none of us know the circumstances around his divorce, but it sounds like, you know, he genuinely didn't want a divorce.
And so five years out of it, he's really genuinely interested in finding a relationship.
And you never, as you and I can both attest, you never know how real this whole circumstance is or situation.
is until you're in it right it's all it's all like you're you're taking it from watching a
couple of shows or whatever and you're in it and i saw mel i felt like i saw mel struggling with
this when when he had to send some women home at the end of the first row ceremony and he he was
genuinely feeling bad and i remember for myself that was the hardest and you told me it would be and
you were right it was the hardest part about being the bachelor was breaking up with people who
haven't done anything wrong yeah you know and you're sending them home and you're like you don't
want to hurt anyone's feelings, and you don't want them to think they're less than by any means
because they're not. And it's just, maybe I got more time with that person or maybe whatever,
you know? And it's hard. It's a really hard thing to do if you're empathetic person, you know,
so. Totally. Yes. Okay, so entrances, I think when we're getting ready for the limous,
I love that Jesse pointed out his shoes. Like, what's with the shoes, Mel?
That was so funny. I think they're just,
orthopedic, you know, shoes, not anything fancy.
He just was saying, you know, I had bad feet.
And I think in the montage before, he was talking about, you know, how his feet are bad and his back is bad and, you know, all the things that happen when you get older.
Yeah.
To most people.
So I thought that was really funny that it called him out for his shoes.
That was pretty funny.
And more props to him for wearing the comfy shoes instead of the ones that are uncomfortable.
Somebody gave him good advice.
I'm not sure who it was.
Totally.
You're going to be there very long.
Your dogs are going to be barking, buddy.
Yeah, they're going to be.
Okay, so who did you like, which entrance was your favorite?
Besides the motorcycle, we already said Cheryl.
Yeah, I loved Carol's entrance.
You know, she's her nephew is a ball player.
She throws them the ball and says, you know, hey, you know, hey catch or whatever.
And then she's got the jacket.
I love that she's walking away.
She didn't say anything.
And then she's walking away.
And he says something.
And she's like, you know, oh, yeah, I love that.
I love, I love Freddie Freeman.
She's like, I do too.
Yeah, that was kind of a cool connection.
And I actually really liked it, too, that she didn't throw it out there right away.
And, you know, it was cute with the baseball, begged the question, of course.
You know, yeah, Terry with the puppet, that was one that I would have coached her against that myself, you know?
Yeah, same, same.
I wasn't, I wasn't, that wasn't one of my favorites.
But that's okay.
I mean, it's all good.
Everyone to each their own.
I actually kind of like the ones that there's really,
they're just like introducing themselves.
But one of the ones that was my favorite based on that is Cindy.
I love that she was like, you know, Cindy, like Cinderella.
And I'm looking for my Prince Charming.
And what else did she say?
Oh, talk to me before midnight.
Before midnight.
That's all really cute.
I love that she used that.
But it wasn't like in your face.
And it wasn't, you know, giving him a kiss and making him feel awkward in the first moment.
But it was cute.
And he remembered her.
Yeah.
You know, it's so funny because these entrances didn't start until long after our seasons.
But I remember thinking at the time.
Like, I think I've even told you this before, like, we were all like, what the hell?
Why is Russ got a Tiffany's box?
Why didn't we do that?
You know, your entrances for The Bachelorette.
And I remember just introducing myself and saying hi and letting you know that I was so excited to meet you or whatever.
but but it's kind of funny like i remember we didn't have any of these like staged entrances uh when
i was the bachelor either and i'm so thankful that we didn't because i would not have been the right
audience for these things even though i love laughing and i love it would i would have been like
what is going on right now you know like the bomb like peg the bomb lady and the in the first of all
it was hilarious that the bomb didn't go off but the fact that she stuck with the bit and the producers
come out and do it again and it's like yeah she's like no no no we're doing this again we're doing
this again until it goes off.
Oh, it's so cute.
Actually, she is one that I feel like after watching the episode, I kind of wish I had had
in my, at least top four.
Yeah.
No, I think you're right.
Yeah.
That could be one.
I think she's going to go along with me too.
Yeah.
And I love that she's a firefighter.
I love the cheese of firefighter and that she was part of a bomb squad.
Like, that is, that's a huge flex.
do you know i had a firefighter on my season her name was shea i still remember to this day
beautiful i remember that actually beautiful firefighter and i and i never got to talk to her the whole
night never and so i yeah and i felt like if i kept her i would be judged for it because i i i didn't
know i didn't know what they were going to keep in what they were going to keep out but i she was so
captivating but i was like no i never got to talk to her i'm not going to keep her you know for
whatever reason the producers didn't have me talk to her. I don't know why, you know. And so I
went with only people I talked to and had a connection with. But I remember her and I remember
thinking, like, that was so interesting. Like, I would have loved to talk to her and got to know
her, but I just never had a chance, you know. Yeah. No, I love that background. I love that
she is super active. And I wish I would have picked her for that reason. You know, it seems like
she's up for an adventure. So that's great.

In early 1988, federal agents race to track down the gang they suspect of importing millions
of dollars worth of heroin into New York from Asia.
We had 30 agents ready to go with shotguns and rifles and you name it.
But what they find is not what they expected.
Basically, your stay-at-home moms were picking up these large amounts of heroin.
They go, is this your daughter? I said yes.
They go, oh, you may not see her for like 25 years.

There's a lot of love that flows through this place and it's sincere. Now it's a personal mission. I don't have to go to any more funerals, you know.
I got blown up on a React mission. I ended up having amputation below the knee of my right leg and a traumatic brain injury because I landed on my head.

Oh my gosh, that was so cute when they played limbo. Yeah, that was really cute. You know,
I got to say one more about the entrances before we get past them. One person that I thought
was going to go very far and then I realized I didn't pick them, but upon seeing them was Lisa.
Lisa, who was from Ohio.
Oh, the cutie pie.
She had a floral dress on.
Yes.
And she was like so cute.
And she came in and she's like, oh, my God, all these beautiful women and you're so accomplished.
And I work at a park.
And it was like, oh, my God, this woman is going to go so far.
And I didn't pick her.
Yeah.
And I really, then I watched back one of the previews that they played yesterday.
And she's like gorgeous in this green dress.
I'm like, how did I not pick her?
like she'll be on a bachelor in paradise or whatever they do if they bring them on i think she's
adorable and i love her like quirkiness that she was kind of like she's kind of like
lisa kudrow and friends like totally you know like i don't know at least that's how she came
across to me but i i think she is really endearing i did too i thought she was adorable and i
when i when you know not to spoil anything but yeah i was shocked let's just say that so we
are spoiling everything i am i am um no no
Oh, we are. This is the whole purpose. We're recapping.
Okay, so Jerry and Mel, I really loved the fact that she shared that note with him from her daughter.
And then moving on to the next episode, and we'll obviously fast forward a little bit, but Cindy, when he shared the video with her of her daughter getting hired by Diana Ross and, oh, that was so sweet. I love those personal moments.
that, those are really important, I feel like, in the process.
Well, especially with Mel.
I mean, Mel, you know, with Mel's history, right, growing up in Detroit, which, by the way,
finally, another Detroit bachelor, it's taken way too long.
But growing up in the city, Detroit, and living across the alleyway from Diana Ross.
I mean, how crazy is that?
Crazy.
And, you know.
And the connection.
And you know I'm all about signs.
Like when Ryan and I went to La Quinta and we saw three different weddings, I was like, okay.
there's something to this.
I think there might be something to that, too.
So when I saw that, I'm like, yay, Cindy, go, Cindy.
I can't believe I didn't keep Cindy longer, and now I'm so upset with my bracket.
Oh, no, I mean, who knows what's going to happen.
But, okay, so Jerry gets the first impression, Rose.
But as I said, when you picked Jerry to be in Final Four fantasy suites or wherever
I have her in hometowns, I think, yeah.
I think if we look at statistics that the person who gets,
the first impression rose usually is not the one that they pick at the end. I don't know why that
is. It is. You're right. And it's funny because the second she got the first impression rose,
I was like, I might have just screwed my whole bracket. Oh, really? Yeah, it's like, it's like when Duke,
it's like when Duke upset Michigan State in the first round and I had Michigan State going all the way.
I'm like, oh, a bracket, bracket buster right there. I don't know, but it sure felt that way in that
moment. I was like, uh, they never go the distance, you know. Totally. Okay.
So the people who got eliminated, there were six ladies, Maya, who, shockingly, is the youngest.
She was, I think, what was she, 58? How old was she? Heather?
Let me look up on my back of college.
She's 58. So she was the youngest at 58, and, I mean, dropped it gorgeous, and lives in Malibu.
So that was a little shocking, but you never know what happens and if there's no, like,
like no connection maybe chemistry connection whatever andra who went home who is sandra's twin
sister i love sandra yeah she has the best sense of humor and i thought for sure that the
producers would at least if he didn't want to keep her that they would say we're going to keep her
at least just one week one more week so she gets more air time or whatever yeah um so i was shocked
about Andrea. I was too.
And then we've got
Lily, Lisa, Tracy,
and Susie. Okay.
I thought Lily
and Lisa I thought would go longer
for sure. I was surprised.
Oh, Lisa was the cutie pie
like Lisa Kudrow. Oh,
that's funny. Her name is Lisa.
See there? Oh, I had her at Rose Ceremony
3, not leaving the
first night.
Yeah, that's where you had Lisa? Yes.
Yeah, I would have, I'm shocked.
I didn't have Lisa.
I didn't have Lisa making it.
And I'm really shocked.
I didn't because when she came out of the screen, I'm like, oh, my God.
She's going to be, she's going to be tough to be.
Yeah, she's cute.
So cute.
So the ladies come in the next day into the mansion.
And they're so excited.
And I love how excited they are.
It took me back to when I went to, like, surprise the ladies on first season of Golden.
And they were just so cute.
and excited. I was like, this is, I love this energy. They just love being here. I'll guarantee they
have you back this season. They're going to have to. No, they're not. I think they're already done.
Oh, you're kidding. I don't, I mean, I don't know, but they're not having me back. I don't think so.
I would love to. It's a big miss. I mean, I would love that. Please. Yeah. Okay, so the ladies enter
the mansion, very excited. And he says, Jesse comes in. There's two dates, one one on one and one huge
group date. Obviously, the one-on-one is very coveted. And it turns out to be the princess date
right out the gate, which I was like, they've never done that before, I don't think.
Rolls-Royce, jewelry, a gorgeous gown. I did, I thought it was really, really cute that as
Cheryl's getting dressed, she had a few women there, like, kind of like cheering her on and saying,
oh, that's the one. I wondered how they picked those girls. Like,
Are those girls that she's hanging out with?
Or are those girls that they're like, you know, you three come with us or whatever.
You know what I mean?
I would be interested to know that, too, because first of all, they seemed, you know,
and this is what I love about the Golden franchise.
They seemed genuinely excited for her.
Like there was no, you know, acrimonious type of, you know, it was like, you look at me.
And I loved her reaction to the whole thing.
And this is before we, did we know her story yet?
I think we must have at this point.
No, we didn't.
We heard it on that, on the one-on-one when they were.
Yeah, and it was just like, oh, my God.
She's, and I even thought to myself, I'm like, well, you never put on a couple dresses.
Like, what, you know, and her story, then when you, oh, my God, then when you hear her story, it's like, I know.
I just, my heart, I mean, I just, yeah, it made me really, really, really, uh, love her and feel like, man, they, they really knocked it out of the park with giving her the princess date.
because I think that she had never had that experience and now she was having it.
And, you know, even if she goes home at some point sooner than she wants to,
if our brackets are wrong, which they might be because she could be someone pretty special
for this whole show.
But I just think that reaction was so genuine and so sweet.
Yeah, I agree.
I loved it.
I know.
The fact that she was crying over it is just so sweet.
And then we have the cheerleading date in the Coliseum, which is really cool.
because he played football there.
And it's so funny.
I was watching it in our kitchen on my phone as like Ryan's doing something in the background.
And I was like, oh, I totally know who this is going to be.
Paul Abdul.
And I'm like shooting it out.
And he's like, what is going on with you?
Were you weird, but I was.
I know I wasn't.
But I don't think he was paying attention to me.
So I love that Paul Abdull came on for the cheerleading date.
That is, she's so iconic.
in that space so um perfect pick i mean that would have been and i do oh i do have to say there is one lady
who especially on this date i loved her amy her energy she's the one with the two twin girls oh yeah
who held up the like sign she ran through it she's always smiling she's always she just seems
like she's so bubbly and wants to have fun like i just want to be friends with her she seems like
such a positive energy.
She's so cute.
Yeah, she's really cute.
Yes, so cute.
So I loved her energy on that date.
Let's see.
Who else stood out at that date?
Well, your girl, Cindy.
That's when we find out she's a Dallas Mavericks cheerleader.
I don't even think that had come up previously had it.
Like, I don't think it was in her original tagline or anything.
It wasn't.
Nope.
Nope.
And then all of a sudden it comes up.
I also thought, yeah, Peg was a great standout too.
I thought, what's kind of like,
Jersey chick is like, I know, I ain't no cheerleader, but I'm going to get out there and have a
dance or whatever.
And she gets out there.
Is that Amy?
That's Amy.
That's Amy.
Yes.
I love her.
She just wanted to have fun.
She's like, I don't care.
I'm just going to do it.
I'm like, who the hell is Amy?
I don't even.
Amy.
Oh, my God.
And then Diane, who's the, the Alaskin with the really short gray hair.
Yes.
Yes.
I love her.
She's up for anything.
Her sense of humor is.
Like, she was good with the one-liners.
I think she would have been great to have, you know, longer in the show.
But I loved her too.
You know, so she, her hair cut, and this is, please, for anyone listening, understand,
I'm going to say this in the most flattering of ways, okay?
Okay.
She reminds me so much of my grandma that passed away, you know, several years ago,
but my grandma was going to be with me on my hometown dates on The Bachelor when we came
home and I was so excited and my grandma was so excited to be on television and and she fell down
and got a huge cut on her face the week of filming and yeah like it literally like slipped and fell
I don't know if she tripped over her dog or something and so she wasn't she was there but she
wasn't on camera at all because she was too embarrassed and I'm like grandma you still look beautiful
you know but she had that kind of a fun you know personality where she would just say fun and she
was from Pennsylvania and I don't know why but whenever I meet people from Alaska it makes
me think of Pennsylvania. I get it. I know geographically, they're not even remotely close to one
another, but for some reason it does. And I was, I just, like, because it's just like an outdoor,
like people who grew up in those areas are like outdoorsy people, you know? And whatever, keep
going. She's got her Alaskan thing going on. She's like, what the fuck is wrong with you? You know,
I'm like, what? Yes. I just thought it was funny. And, and she reminded me of my grandma.
And so I wanted her to go farther. But, I mean, you're right. She was so quirky and funny and
just doing silly stuff and making everybody laugh. And, you know, it was,
She is, she's adorable.
She is adorable.
And then we have the rose at that after-party date because I think it was Mel's G-B girls or something like that.
What was the G-B?
And why did they never tell us?
Golden Bachelor.
Oh.
Yeah, it takes you a while.
Thank you.
I'm very embarrassed for you.
But that's okay.
I can't believe I asked that.
Do you know, I wrote that down last night.
Like, what the hell is G-B and why are-
I did not.
You sound like me.
Bob, go get your brain checked, just like me.
Because, oh, I'm worried about mine.
Okay, so they win the cheerleading date, and they get the after party, and then they go to the after party, and they have these great conversations.
Cindy especially, that's when he shared with her, his daughter's, or her daughter's little video that she's dancing for Diana Ross.
And Cindy ends up getting the rose from the date.
the date rose so I love that she got the date rose I felt like I mean from what we see of course
as you all know out there there's so much that ends up on the cutting room floor so we don't we see
a fraction like a tiny part yeah but yes there was lots of kissing they had I love that she was
like and we went in for a second and we went in for a third and we went in for a third and we went
I want my 4th and 6th, yeah.
That was really cute.
Okay, so we've got Cindy gets the rose at the after party,
and then the next day they have a pool party, and, geez, I mean, let's say this.
These women are freaking goals.
Like, they are hot.
Like, come on.
Yeah, it was insane.
And I'm like, she's 70?
Like, what the heck?
Yeah, I was shocked.
First of all, I was shocked at Mel.
Mel looks amazing.
Mel looks amazing too.
You can tell that dude's been working out and hasn't stopped.
He's a brickshed house, as we say in the business.
And I don't know what the business is.
I just made that part out.
I was just going to ask you that.
Well, I have a side biz, you know, body by Bob.
It's the thing where we make sure people don't go in that direction.
Mel's not ever been a client, never would be.
Stop.
No, but I'm saying, like, he's yoked, right?
I mean, he's like, he's like a, how old is he?
70?
How old is?
I don't know.
I mean, no, how old Mel is.
Hold, please.
Heather's like, hold, please.
Yeah, I guess I never even looked that up.
But yeah, so, I mean, Mel is an older gentleman, a former professional athlete, 66, and ripped.
I mean, he looked great.
And then he knows he does, because, I mean, he was selling it.
He's like, well, I might already have my suit on ladies.
You know, and then.
And then he jumps in with his shoes and his microphone.
Yeah, I know production wasn't loving that.
I was like, oh, he just got it talking to.
Yeah, he did.
But the ladies all looked amazing, every single one of them.
Amazing.
What I love about this age is the confidence.
You know what I mean?
So like, even if they, maybe they don't look amazing, but they all do, P.S.
Yeah.
But it doesn't matter.
They're there.
They know who they are.
They're comfortable in their skin.
If he doesn't like it, you know, screw him, right?
Or whatever.
And I love that.
And they were, there was a lot of girl power out there.
A lot of, they were very supportive of one another, having the time of their lives,
dancing like crazy people.
It was, it was a fun episode.
It was very fun.
It was really fun.
The only part, and we know who our villain is going to be this season,
was Nicole in the pool with her hands and her lips and everything all over him.
and I think at one point, one point he actually said,
wait, was that in the pool?
Yeah, he's like, maybe this isn't right to do here.
Maybe we should ease up a little bit.
Well, one of the ladies, I loved one of the comments.
I don't even know who's set up, but they go,
Nicole jumps in and she's climbing him like a tree.
I thought that was pretty fun.
That was Cindy, I think.
I think that was Cindy.
And then Terry, I think, was the one who was commenting on,
she's like, hey, look over there.
Look at what he's doing.
I'm not cool with that.
I wouldn't be either.
I didn't think it was really appropriate.
It's a little much, you know.
I mean, I get it that she's like, I got to shoot my shot.
But do you really like in that way?
Like, I feel like it's a little disrespectful.
As a former kissing bandit on the show.
Yes.
I will say this.
I did not ever do that in front of a group of ladies.
Like, yes, I kissed a lot of people.
There's no question.
But it was always when we were off somewhere by ourselves or I wasn't ever
macking on somebody.
in front of the crew, you know?
And if you remember from your season of the Bachelorette,
and we even talked about this when Jamie Blythe was on the show,
and when Ryan and I have done the show together,
I was like, you guys, think about her like your sister.
Do you really want four dudes watching you guys try to make out?
No one wants to see that.
And I remember Jamie Blythe's like,
and by the way, you just said that you told everyone to think I was their sister.
Oh, God, you know what I mean?
That does sound terrible.
Uh-huh.
Anyway,
anyway, let's move on.
That explains why I didn't get to final rest.
So, okay.

happy. Was acting always something you were going to do? I was using acting as a way of escaping
to feel free. My parents, it wasn't just the divorce, it was just like the continuing situation
of living between two different houses and two different lives and two different sets of values,
the career and the life
that looks like the dream
but are you really happy?
Fame has given me this extraordinary power
it's also given me a lot of responsibility

patients. You think you're finally like with the right people in the right hands and then to find out
again that you're just not. Don't be fooled. By what? All the bright and shiny. Listen to IVF

Hola, it's HoneyGerman, and my podcast
Grasias Come Again is back.
This season, we're going even deeper
into the world of music and entertainment.
With raw and honest conversations with some of your
favorite Latin artists and celebrities.
You didn't have to audition?
No, I didn't audition.
I haven't audition in, like, over 25 years.
Oh, wow.
That's a real G-talk right there.
Oh, yeah.
We've got some of the biggest actors,
musicians, content creators, and culture shifters,
sharing their real stories of failure and success.
You were destined to be a start.
We talk all about what's viral and trending
with a little bit of chisement,
a lot of laughs,
and those amazing vivas you've come to
expect.
And of course, we'll explore deeper topics dealing with identity, struggles, and all the
issues affecting our Latin community.
You feel like you get a little whitewash because you have to do the code switching?
I won't say whitewash because at the end of the day, you know, I'm me.
Yeah.
But the whole pretending and code, you know, it takes a toll on you.

so what I what I take away from that is you know either and she kind of said this like it's time with him so get out of my way I've always felt that's a little disrespectful like respect the rest of the people in the room but it's a two lane highway so he is also part of it and I feel like he probably should have like backed off
a little bit earlier and said,
hey, let's let me let's,
can we go talk somewhere else or,
right, or something. Let's go take a walk around the corner or
something. Yes, like something. So it's not in
everyone's faces. Um, and not disrespect Nicole
because she didn't deserve that, but at the same time, like maybe say,
eh, let's, let's go somewhere where it's a little more private.
Totally agree. Yeah, I, I felt like that was a bad look.
You know, and yeah, I get it. It's a,
it's a weird situation to be in when someone just walks up to you and starts making out with you
and you do want to let them know you're interested but at the same time you are in front of
a bunch of other people you need to show respect to so it's a tough spot to be in for sure but
you know he got it eventually uh he he got the he got the memo eventually it just took him a little
so okay so we get to the rose ceremony and um the people that went home are my lean she was the
Vegas model service, I think, yep, VIP host.
And then, which I thought is amazing.
At her age, she's still partying at the Vegas, like, in the Vegas scene.
I was like, wow, that's just amazing.
Crazy.
Ashley and Ben will be sad about my, they had her going far.
Oh, you know what?
I actually did in the beginning, like right away.
And then I was like, I don't know if Vegas is like.
like his scene, I don't, you know, like more like the location, I kind of honed in on that.
And then, yeah, I thought I would have her going a little bit farther, but I didn't.
Anyway, she went home, unfortunately.
And then Diane, who I was so sad, but she was, see, this is why I love her too, is that she was leaving.
And like one of them, Carla, who, gosh, she's gorgeous too.
too.
Carlo walked up and she, like, didn't even give him a hug.
And I'm like, you know, it's all good.
Don't give him a hug.
But I loved that Diane was like, sweet about it.
She was like, oh, thank you so much, Mel.
You know what I mean?
Like, she was.
You know what?
I feel like it says so much more about that person in that moment.
Like, I say this to my kids all the time when they're disappointed in something.
And I'm like, hey, it's not that person's fault, right?
It's like, it doesn't, you know, I mean, I'm going to talk about everything from, you know,
your buddy's scoring a goal on you in soccer to whatever, right?
But it's always like, you know, be gracious because you never know.
You never know what's going to happen.
And you never know what that person is going through.
And, you know, God forbid, you might remind him of his ex-wife.
And we don't know what she lives.
I mean, you never know.
You know, there's a bunch of things out there.
And, but yeah, kind of interesting that, that that kind of unfolded the way it did.
I was shocked at a couple of those as well.
I did think at that point that she'd be going home.
Diane would be on home because I felt like that that whole thing with Nicole for whatever
reason and maybe it's because I do feel like Diane looks like my grandma and I don't know why
I'm thinking this way I felt like she was probably like disappointed in Mel for the pool
makeout session you know and so she was probably like I'm good to go home you know this isn't
yeah yeah yeah but I but again I think it's a prejudice in my mind you know yeah so um
we get at the end after the rose ceremony of course we get previews they are my
favorite thing. Like when I go to a movie, I love the previews. Me too. Even though they go on
forever these days, I'm like, I do love a good previews. So I love the previews. And there are a lot
of times, not even just for this, but I'm pausing it. Yeah. Are they making out? What are you
doing? Right. You're wearing the same shirt? Yeah. So it seems like Nicole may be causing a little bit
more attention with being physical with him.
There is lots of crying.
There are lots of, there is lots of crying.
Yeah, there is lots of crying.
There is a lot of crying.
And then I am so sad.
So case in point that I'm not going to be asked to be on this season, I know in Debbie's
footage where she was kissing him that they're at Red Rocks, which is like a, like a
a very famous, yes, a very famous location for concerts, and I did not get asked.
So, case in point, I will not be asked to be on this season, sadly.
But I love that Susan and Kathy are there for a pillow fight.
I do too.
Susan and Kathy make the world better.
They do.
What else happened?
Oh, yes.
He did have a ring at the end.
That doesn't always mean that there's an engagement.
But he also says, I think something to the effect of, I'm ready.
I just hope she is or something.
So I'm interested about that, you know, because this could be your Debbie thing.
This could be, you know, because she's never been married.
But, yeah, and then there's another scene where he's talking to, where he's talking to Jesse.
Bless you.
Where there's another scene where he's talking to Jesse and he says, but she left.
she's gone and Jesse goes
but I know she's still on the property
right so
interested to find out what that's all about
me too
because you know that's what happened
with Joan during
Gary's season where
she had to go home
because her daughter had just had a baby
and she needed her
I wonder if it's something like that
like a family emergency
or Colton's season
what happened during Colton season
is when the girl he ended up with
Cassie
Decis he decided. Yes, he decided to leave. Yes, you're right. To this day, she is one of my big
crushes of the whole franchise. Like, I've always said that. Like, I've always been like, she was so
cute and seemed she didn't need it. You obviously watch Yellowstone. Oh, yeah, her sister's my favorite
part of that. And the oil man. She's now on the oil man with Billy Bob Thornton.
No, Landman. Landman. Yeah, Landman. Sorry. The Oil Man show. The Oil Man show.
Yeah, with Billy Bob.
He's amazing.
I love that show.
I love that show.
I met her in Vail randomly, and I had to go up and say hi because I, you know.
Well, the connection's there, too.
Well, you're there, and I'm a huge fan.
Yeah.
So, yes, the fence.
I remember the fence.
I will say, I've said it before.
Ryan was the one to jump the fence first.
He wasn't the one to actually jump the fence on camera.
but he left on the final rose ceremony day
and they couldn't find him.
So he escaped.
He was the very first Colton.
Yes.
And I'm like,
everyone's getting all like up in arms
about Colton jumping the fence.
I'm like Ryan did that long time ago.
And he probably did it.
With all due respect,
he probably did it without even touching
a single spoke on that fence.
No, no. Colton is athlete too.
But, yeah.
Ryan's next level.
Okay.
Okay. So do you think that he'll get engaged?
I think he will propose. The way the show went last night had me kind of wondering, you know, how this ends.
Like, I think he will propose. I truly do. And I think, I hope that whoever he proposes to says yes, because I feel like Mel's different than Gary.
And I don't mean that in a negative way towards that guy. I just feel like, you know, you kind of see the carnage from a season that doesn't work out.
right and so you realize okay I'm not doing anything if I don't really feel it
right because clearly they went through some stuff and it was public and wow
it's ugly right and it is ugly I mean it's terrible when anyone gets divorced
but especially when it's televised and you know it happens in a month it's like
what the hell you guys didn't know that leading into it but I feel like that
the fact that he's younger you know he's only 66 which I think is I mean that's
12 years older than me so I don't feel like that's that isn't that crazy I
don't feel like that that it's crazy so and I feel like a lot of these women have genuinely surprised him
and and frankly surprised me I mean watching the show like the one thing I have said to you about this
before and I love this no stunt casting they have they are age appropriate cast and it's so it really
is genuinely people who get each other and they're not just going for the hot young thing right
and I think that that's going to be something that will be very interesting geographic location
plays a big part of this, which we have learned from watching as people are older and along
in their lives. So that I think will factor into it. But I think also probably the realization
that, hey, we don't have to get married. It's not like we're in half baby. So why don't we just
be engaged? Be engaged for the rest of our lives. And that's all we need to do, you know.
I think so too. I think it will be an engagement. And you made me think of something.
You said, you know, what happened after Gary's season. That's assuming that he watched the
show and he knows what happened during
Gary's season. I don't know if he watched
the show. I haven't heard, like, I know
he's done some press leading up.
That's kind of what got him in trouble, but
I would love to
know if he
watched the first Golden Bachelor
and what he thought and if he learned anything
from it going into his filming.
Oh, yes, that's true. Joan and
Chalk are living separately,
but they do
have an agreement, I think, of
sorts where they spend a lot of time at each other's houses. So it's not like they were made
to move. No, it's totally the way to go. I think at that stage in the game, why would you do anything
else? Like, you know, Joan and I even talked about it when we were together at an event one time.
And I had said, and Chalk and I have talked about it too afterwards. I was like, is there any
rush? He's like, what's the rush? We're having a great time. We love each other's company. We love
each other's family. I love visiting her. She loves visiting me. It's great.
And it's like at that age, why would you push the envelope?
Like you got this perfect thing going.
Neither one of you want to be away from your kids or your grandkids.
Yeah.
Why make one person suffer?
It just doesn't make sense, you know?
Totally.
So yeah, I hope they go to Joan and Chalk route.
And I hope that because I feel like Joan and Chalk should be considered a major success from the franchise because they are very in love.
Like when you're with them, it's the real deal.
That's like being with you and Ryan.
It's the same thing.
It's like you see that same type of chemistry.
very similar uh personality makeups by the way i mean chock's not as affable as as ryan in my
mind because i know ryan's so much better but it's like jones the one out there the cute
bubbly blonde and just talking away and then you know ryan and chocker in the background with
canyon you know totally so funny for everybody and everyone in this place okay well this was
fun i'm really excited i hope you all are watching um i know you don't have to watch because we do
we will be doing this recap or Ashley and Ben will be doing the recap, but it's going to be
a great season.
So tune in Wednesday nights on ABC.
I think it's a big comeback.
Don't call it a comeback.
We've been here for years, but it could be a big comeback season.

In early 1988, federal agents raced to track down the gang they suspect of importing millions of dollars worth of heroin into New York from Asia.
We had 30 agents ready to go with shotguns and rifles and you name it.
Five, six white people pushed me in the car. I'm going, what about that?
Basically, your stay-at-home moms were picking up these.
