This is an I-Heart podcast.
Let's start with a quick puzzle.
The answer is Ken Jennings' appearance on The Puzzler with A.J. Jacobs.
The question is, what is the most entertaining listening experience in podcast land?
Jeopardy-truthers believe in...
I guess they would be conspiracy theorists.
That's right.
They gave you the answers, and you still blew it.

No such thing.
This is the Almost Famous Podcast with IHeart Radio.
Everyone, welcome. Almost Famous.
Oh, geez.
We get to talk another Dancing with the Stars recap because there's two this week.
Yes, I'm loving it.
I'm loving it.
And I'm also loving that we're going to start this whole thing off with
Spoiler alert, because we are, if you were taping it and you didn't watch it, first of all, you missed a great episode.
Yeah.
And secondly, if you were following along with Bob and Trist, the almost famous OG prediction schedule, we nailed it.
You're right.
Nailed it. Nailed it. Nailed it. I mean, we really did.
It was hard to not nail it, you know. Next week will be a bit more difficult, but, and the coming weeks,
after that.
But, I mean, even Ryan sat down and watched it last night.
And he's nodded, you know, the only time he was into dancing with the stars was when
he was cheering for his wifey.
So.
Of course.
Yeah.
But, yeah, it was such a great episode.
I don't know if you saw Joey's Instagram post before he started with his hair and makeup.
But I was like, oh, my comment was, oh, my comment was, oh, my comment was, oh, you.
Yes.
Like, it was so amazing.
The hair and makeup, I have to give props to that, that hair and makeup department.
They.
Yeah, they did it right.
Every week, every week, I feel like.
And wardrobe, like Jen Tran last week was like, I think this is the most beautiful thing I've ever put on my body.
Oh, wow.
You know, like, I, hair and makeup and wardrobe props go out to their team.
Because I will say, when I was.
on the show and we had to do our like
like the
press photos. Yeah.
It basically put out
like six dresses
and they said, okay, all of you
girls choose from these dresses.
It wasn't like custom made
to you. There was no like
nothing. It was just
cheaper. You can have the blue one
Trista. It says it'll fit you.
We got this
donated from North from Rec
you know. Yeah.
Well, I will say this.
I thought for Reginald to go home last night, his hair to me was the best.
Reginald's hair was the best.
I mean, everybody had the, you know, the twisted sister, you know,
white snake do's going on.
And his, I thought, was it was his best night for me from a costume perspective.
Yeah.
But, I mean, it was one of those moments where you're watching the show.
And like, everybody, again, I mean, especially, you know,
I got an interesting question on our, on our chat.
from someone who was asking, you know,
do you think the first night was pre-taped?
And I'm like, I don't think so.
Like, do you think they, maybe they pre-taped Tuesday night
to give them more time to prepare for Wednesday?
Do you think they, no?
No, they're all live.
Wow, yeah.
At least I think so.
I mean, I'm not on the show right now,
but I'm pretty sure all of the shows are lives.
Like, it actually, I know they're live.
We'll ask, so we have a couple Bachelor Nation people coming in to talk about how much fun they had in studio, because they were at the live show last night.
I'll be coming up later.
But we can ask them, but I'm pretty sure it's all live.
It's a live show.
Like, that's the draw of it all.
I know.
I know.
That is the gist.
And it is kind of, it would be really difficult to pre-tape that and, you know, get an audience there without the whole world knowing.
So I think you're right.
Totally.
Yeah, 100%.
Especially this episode because two people left.
And we would have known about it if it was pre-taped because there was a whole audience full of people.
So, yeah, 100%.
People love spoiling it.
I mean, people love spoiling it.
Totally.
And they would.
They would.
I have to say, so, Danny Amandolo and Whitney.
last night yeah awesome holy hotness like yeah they are when they came out i was like whoa and honestly
danny with his short hair normally um he's a great looking guy obviously i feel like everyone would
agree you probably would too yeah he's really a did for sure Whitney makes anybody looks like
you i mean she is so she's a smoke show i can say that absolutely and
his like mullet and like i don't know if it was eye makeup or what but i was like i think he's found
his look he's probably not going to keep it but oh my gosh you're like he should keep that look
that's a good list of yeah yeah i know he did he looked really cool i love the jacket you know
there was some they were doing the pasadouble which i love uh and and it's one of my favorite
songs living out of prayer by jovi come on yep i love the music was spot on last night for
The music was awesome.
Oh, the music was so good.
Like, I, I, I love that.
Same thing with, like, Soul Train the week before, or the night before.
I just feel like, I love bringing this stuff back from, like, you know,
we're going to age ourselves, but our childhood, you know.
I know.
Believe me, I'm like, these are my jams, man.
This is my, this is the season I want to be on.
Yeah.
And then, um, someone who we, we haven't really talked much about her lately.
but I thought she's been one who we were both super big on right out of the jump was Chandler.
Yeah.
She's still awesome, right?
She's amazing.
And she's proven that she's amazing from the start, so they want more out of her.
So, like, I thought, I think it was the first week maybe.
I thought, or maybe it was the second week, she should have gotten tens.
Like, I was like, she should have gotten tense.
That was a perfect routine, at least from my perspective.
she was amazing and then she kind of went dipped down last week or she's still I think she's still
the best answer on the whole thing 100% you know for her to dip down is only because our bar is so high
you know exactly exactly yeah I have no doubt unless people don't vote um that she'll be in the finale
like she she deserves to be it just early on um but joey again freaking crazy
Crushed it. I mean crushed it. He is hysterical with all of these little things. Oh, well, I was a cheerleader in Padrapeth. And I was a drummer. And I was like, and Julian's like, what else are we going to learn about you?
Yeah. I mean, first of all, I think he might have had my second favorite song in the night, Rock you like a hurricane, Scorpions.
Yes, so good.
Here I am.
Here I am. Yeah, I was pretty sweet.
It was so good.
It would have been so much fun to be in the audience last night.
Yeah.
Yeah.
No, I thought he crushed it.
And what was interesting to me is I was, I follow someone, Bachelor Data.
There's a girl who collects all this data related to Bachelor Nation and all the shows.
And I follow her and I was follow, she was in the audience last night.
I was following her stories and she was doing kind of behind the scenes.
And, yeah.
And yes, it was so cool.
I think that's, I would, I think people want to see that kind of stuff, you know, what it looks
like before the cameras start and before the live show starts and all of that.
What a great thing that we could bring them here on, on almost famous OGs, if they would invite.
You're right.
You're right.
Yes.
So they had the behind the scenes before the show get started and all of the people, all of the, the
celebs and their pros are out on the, on the dance floor.
And Jenna, who is the consummate profession.
I feel like she is just
I think this season
I don't know I was just going to say my favorites
but I don't even know because I think they're
great but Jenna is
so talented and
she was even
like practicing her moves and I was
like how interesting is it that
even the pros who we feel
like can do no wrong and are never ever
going to make a mistake I was thinking
she's
seemed a little not
stressed out but like she
wants to go over her moves so she doesn't make a mistake and I'm like she's human you know like
she's not like this um dancing god yeah yeah no I know it is it is nice to see you know I mean
I always think about that way with sports like it is nice to see someone who's at the top of their
game still picking it seriously and focusing and getting themselves the right head space and
you know I mean you know at the end of the day I mean I'm sure I'm sure there's some level of you know
they got to still bring it because they want to be invited back next year too, right?
And they want to get a better partner or whatever it might be.
And it's like, you know,
it's not necessarily that's how it's going to happen.
But I think that it is probably some of that is them nailing it and being good teachers.
And, you know,
it's not just about them showing us they know the moves because we all know they do, right?
It's about them being able to convey that, which I got to say, for me,
once again, Jen and Sasha were amazing last night, you know,
not my favorite song.
I'm not a big fan of
a do-da-d-d-do.
Not a huge fan of that one.
But I mean, some of the judges' comments for her,
even though her score, you know,
it was still 31 out of 40, still good.
But they were talking about her doing the traditional,
you know, stuff better than most.
And I thought that was pretty cool
because there was some tough stuff in there.
And a lot of them, I think,
can kind of funk it up, make it younger,
make it less ballroomy,
traditional and hers was really traditional and I thought she did a great job yeah what would you do
if one bad decision forced you to choose between a maximum security prison or the most brutal boot camp
designed to be hell on earth unfortunately for mark lombardo this was the choice he faced he said you are a
number a new york state number and we own you shock incarceration also known
as boot camps are short-term, highly regimented correctional programs that mimic military basic
training. These programs aim to provide a shock of prison life, emphasizing strict discipline,
physical training, hard labor, and rehabilitation programs. Mark had one chance to complete this
program and had no idea of the hell awaiting him the next six months. The first night was so
overwhelming and you don't know who's next to you. And we didn't know what to expect in the morning. And we didn't
know what to expect in the morning. Nobody tells you anything. Listen to shock incarceration on the
iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. My name is Ed. Everyone
say hello, Ed. From a very rural background myself, my dad is a farmer and my mom is a cousin,
so like, it's not like... What do you get when a true crime producer walks into a comedy club?
I know it sounds like the start of a bad joke, but that really was my reality nine years ago.
I just normally do straight stand-up, but this is a bit different.
On stage stood a comedian with a story that no one expected to hear.
On 22nd of July 2015, a 23-year-old man had killed his family.
And then he came to my house.
So what do you get when a true crime producer walks into a comedy club?
A new podcast called Wisecrack, where Stan
up comedy and murder take center stage.
Available now.
Listen to Wisecrack on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
A foot washed up a shoe with some bones in it.
They had no idea who it was.
Most everything was burned up pretty good from the fire that not a whole lot was salvageable.
These are the coldest of cold cases, but everything is about to change.
Every case that is a cold.
old case that has DNA. Right now in a backlog will be identified in our lifetime.
A small lab in Texas is cracking the code on DNA. Using new scientific tools,
they're finding clues in evidence so tiny you might just miss it. He never thought he was going
to get caught. And I just looked at my computer screen. I was just like, ah, gotcha.
On America's Crime Lab, we'll learn about victims and survivors. And you'll meet the team
behind the scenes at Othrum, the Houston Lab that takes on the most
hopeless cases to finally solve the unsolvable.

I'm Dr. Joy Harden Bradford, and in session 421 of therapy for black girls, I sit down with
Dr. Ophia and Billy Shaka to explore how our hair connects to our identity, mental health,
and the ways we heal.
Because I think hair is a complex language system, right, in terms of it can tell how old
you are, your marital status, where you're from, you're a spiritual belief.
But I think with social media, there's like a hyper fixation and observation of our hair,
right, that this is sometimes the first thing someone sees when we make a post or a reel.
It's how our hair is styled.
You talk about the important role hairstylists play in our community,
the pressure to always look put together, and how breaking up with perfection can actually free us.
Plus, if you're someone who gets anxious about flying, don't miss.
Session 418 with Dr. Angela Neil Barnett, where we dive into managing flight anxiety.
Listen to Therapy for Black Girls on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your
podcast.
Get fired up, y'all.
Season two of Good Game with Sarah Spain is underway.
We just welcomed one of my favorite people and an incomparable soccer icon,
Megan Rapino, to the show, and we had a blast.
We talked about her recent 40th birthday celebrations, co-hosting a podcast with her fiancé
Sue Bird, watching former teammates retire and more.
Never a dull moment with Pino.
Take a listen.
What do you miss the most about being a pro athlete?
The final.
The final.
And the locker room.
I really, really, like, you just, you can't replicate, you can't get back.
Showing up to locker room every morning just to shit talk.
We've got more incredible guests like the legendary Candace Parker and college superstar
AZ Fudd.
I mean, seriously, y'all.
The guest list is absolutely.
stacked for season two.
And, you know, we're always going to keep you up to speed on all the news and
happenings around the women's sports world as well.
So make sure you listen to Good Game with Sarah Spain on the Iheart radio app,
Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
Presented by Capital One, founding partner of IHeart Women's Sports.
I also, my heart went out to Alona, you know, when she was so upset about messing up.
And I watched it back because when Bruno was like, there were a bunch of times where you messed up.
And I was like, really?
Like, I really didn't catch it.
I caught like maybe one.
But I was like, I wonder what the real story is.
Like, I would love to have her on just to talk about it just to tell us exactly what happened.
Because it also kind of felt like, and maybe this is just her in processing her disappointment in herself.
but she was like really closed off to um her Alan her partner yeah yeah I was like I wonder if
something happened between them because I know how it is like when you're practicing and you get at
each other's tension like sure and you're just not vibing or clicking I wonder if there was any
this week well I was wondering too like you know I think it's like it's funny not funny it's fun
you know to start up on the table and all that kind of stuff
that jumping off the table in any type of heels, right, or whatever, not that, you know,
she's not wearing like stilettos, but it's still, you know, you're jumping down in the
middle of a song. You're nervous as hell. It's like, you know, if I don't have, you know,
16, you know, Mr. Guinea original vodka soda lemons in me, I'm not jumping out that table
and going straight into a dance move, you know? I mean, don't give me wrong. If I have the right
amount of Mr. Guinea originals in me, I am doing that lead frog and I'm moving it.
shaken but I could I could see that being tough too like you jump off the table and you're
supposed to do this routine and it's like you know maybe that was a little too ambitious you know
yeah well who knows um I my heart just went out to her because you know when you're on the show
you do want to do your best when I was on the show I remember just being super grateful for being
there and kind of focusing on that and I remember I got comments from people saying well don't you
want it don't you want to be here don't you want to be here till the end?
Of course.
I'm a competitive person, but I also was trying to like just be positive about the whole
thing and be grateful for being there, even though, of course, I wanted to be at the end.
It sucked out the first time.
And I think that's what she was so worried about, not getting a second chance when she felt
like she messed up a little bit.
Sure.
Yeah, I get it.
I, you know, I mean, I think being so emotional will probably
make the voting public, you know, it'll tug on their heartstrings a little bit like you
and ever talk about the other day. It's like, you know, that definitely affects people like me
who I'm not, I don't know anything about dance and technical stuff, but I know the people I like
and I do know that when people are emotional and trying really hard, it makes me like them
more. Yeah, it makes, showing vulnerability to me is a huge win. Not like just crying at the drop
of a hat, but being emotional, being exhausted, like you said, putting it all out.
out there and you know so yeah hopefully they can reconnect this week and and not
assuming they maybe maybe weren't connected as well as it could have been but uh and maybe they'll
put her in a situation where she can better compete because i think i think leap for hugging off
a table and all that is not it's not her best yeah right you know yeah i think she is a fan favorite
though like everyone was booing the whole place it sounded like was booing because she got i think
sixes and sevens, which I definitely
agree. I think that was way
low. Yeah.
You know, if you're going to take off, then take off
one from last week. I think she got all eights
or maybe close to that. So I was
like, well, really? Like,
you have to go sixes. That's not
necessary. I know. Fadra and
she and Fadra, I think I'm saying her name, right?
Right? Pedro? Yeah, they had the
I remember them having the lowest scores
and I was like, oh my gosh, because they
had like 26es, I think.
And I was thinking, oh man, are they
going to go home and then these guys stay again? I was I was a little scared of our prediction
at that point but glad to see that I think the right people went home. I think that you know
it worked out. Yeah. I think their their charisma, their heart for it like it showed but it's really
time to start dancing like it's a dance show. Especially now with the chemistry levels
being where they're at. I mean now let's talk about our favorite
couple that we know is dating, right? We know they're dating. Yeah, for sure they are. I mean,
did you see the lick in the air, the lit kiss? Honestly, those two are, that's a sexy couple, man.
I mean, oh my goodness, they are, they are smoke shows too. Like, oh, they, I love them together.
Is it, is it, are they the ones that, uh, I can't remember if they're the ones that Derek
Huff said at the other night where he was like, God, I got to be honest, watching the dance, I got pregnant.
I felt like I might have got pregnant last night.
I watched that show.
Yes, I'm pretty sure that was their dance.
That was their Rumba.
I personally wasn't, like, crazy about their dance last night.
Like, I didn't think they should have got as high of score.
Yeah, they got huge scores.
They got huge scores.
I didn't think they did any better than Alona and Fadra.
And I think that they scored significantly better than that.
them um i'm showing they got a 33 out of 40 which is that's pretty damn good yeah i i don't know
i mean please i'm not a judge no but you are you're a former professional dancer i think
you to critique that stuff you know what to look for but i don't do ball i mean i don't know ballroom
i just feel like the rumba was she was so that was a beautiful dance and obviously very
sexy and obviously they had a lot of chemistry and that's what you need in the rumba i speak
from experience because I did not have chemistry with my partner because it was like the second
week and I just met him and I was married for a year or two and I just felt uncomfortable.
Well, and you were so much taller than him. Oh, yes, exactly. I got, you know me. I got to go back
and rehash my old jokes, you know. I don't know if that is a statement that would ever be true.
No, I've never seen you taller than anyone. I know. Maybe my son at one, well, my son at one point,
I was going to say, not now.
Not now.
No way.
Yeah.
Yeah, I thought it was a great episode.
I love the music choices for the most part.
Yeah.
You know, it pretty campy, you know, which maybe that was easier to go campy that night,
which I thought was a huge stretch for Jen because she went the opposite, right?
Everybody else is wigged out and doing, you know, kind of rock and roll stuff.
And she's more in the possibility.
I still got Jen and Joey pegged for making the top five.
I do for sure
and I'm excited to see next week
I know you're going to have
some conversations with some people that were at the show
which I think would be really exciting too
I'm excited
it'll be so fun
I really can't
can't wait to talk
just instead of recapping
really get their thoughts
especially if they were in the audience
like I think it's a totally different thing
and like where was the energy
you know who had
who brought out the energy of the people watching live in person?
Just, I want to know that kind of stuff, you know?
Yeah.
Now, next week is it go down to one elimination a week or is it two again?
I'm sure it is.
I, well, I don't know for sure.
I feel like was this week related to politics?
Did they have some kind of deal or something?
I think there was like a debate or something last week,
and that's why there was a double episode this week.
So with that being the case, that would mean next week,
go to a single elimination, which I got to be honest, if I'm looking at last night's
dances, I would think, you know, I don't know, I would think maybe Alana, or if I'm saying
or not, name improperly, Alona. I would think Alona and Fadra both really got to deliver
next week to keep it, keep it going. But also Dwight Howard, like I wonder.
Oh, yeah, I was going to think about him. You're right.
You know, if people are going to vote for them, like I felt like they did great. And like,
Carrie Ann said, the
height difference is not as noticeable as
it was in the beginning, which I think it's really
interesting, but I think because
they're just coming together as a unit, so you're
watching them as a unit and not too
about. You know what I mean?
And they had such a rough first night, like it was
so bad to come back last night
and actually be pretty good.
It was great.
Yeah. So I don't know. It all
depends. We know
what the judges said, right?
Now we have to hear
how the public voted so it all this all comes down to the public votes and next week it would go
because if someone's going to rally for i feel like people are going to rally for alona
because she was so vulnerable i agree i agree so i don't think she's going home next week um
even though we have no idea what's going to happen next week we don't know the dances we don't know
you know any of that um i really feel like the public is going to rally
Well, I hope so. We'll find out. You'll have to tune in for our recap next week when we're talking about Dancing with the Stars, episode five.
Woo! Love it. Thanks, Bob. Thanks for listening to everybody.
Thanks, everybody.
Let's start with a quick puzzle. The answer is Ken Jennings' appearance on The Puzzler with A.J. Jacobs.
The question is, what is the most entertaining listening experience in podcast land?
