Let's start with a quick puzzle.
The answer is Ken Jennings' appearance on The Puzzler with A.J. Jacobs.
The question is, what is the most entertaining listening experience in podcast land?
Jeopardy-truthers believe in...
I guess they would be conspiracy theorists.
That's right.
They gave you the answers, and you still blew it.
The puzzler.

This is the Ben and Ashley I, Almost Famous Podcasts with IHeart Radio.
This is a very special episode, or the almost famous podcast.
We've got the guy that makes the sauce, Joe and Serena, who are now the new hosts of an official Bachelor podcast.
Yes, they are hosting Bachelor, Happy Air.
It's a crossover episode.
We're going to do part one here at the Almost Famous Podcast.
We're going to do part two over on their line.
So if you want to tune into the whole thing, listen here, skip on over.
Listen there.
Joe and Serena, welcome.
Hi, guys.
Thanks for having us.
I like that.
The guy, what did you say?
The guy that makes the sauce or the guy with the sauce?
You can do be whatever you want.
I love it.
Thank you.
Thanks for that plug.
Some days with Joe.
appreciate it, Ben. Do you know how many jars of sauce I have in my basement of yours? Like,
we are, we sell them like crazy at Audrey's, but we did have to buy 2,000 jars, right?
When we decided to have you guys sell at Audrey's. And sometimes I steal them if I need
extra pasta sauce downstairs. It's so good. How are we doing on those? Yeah, I did. I sent over a full
palette that was about 20-something. There was almost 3,000, I think. Okay. So it was 2,700. Okay. So it was
2,700. Okay, yeah. Well, we're probably
have one third left, which is still
really good for not even a year. It's been about
10 months. Yeah, that's great.
Yeah. Audie's coffee shop is keeping
both generous coffee and
Sunday's show alive.
But, yes, those are
side projects, but obviously your guys'
biggest passion.
The thing that you care the most about
is the Bachelor franchise.
And you are now hosting Bachelor
Happy Hour. How does it feel
to be the host of this iconic and massive show.
Ben, when you said the thing you care most about,
I totally thought you were going to be like your relationship,
your marriage, and instead you went Bachelor Happy Hour, the franchise.
Yeah, yeah, just want to make sure you're listening.
How does it feel?
No, I honestly, it's, it's an honor.
It's an honor to, you know, I've been in this franchise now for
almost five years and you guys might have been the first. It feels like you've been with us for
longer. Well, you two may have been the first interview. I think I ever did was the almost
famous podcast. And you weren't warmed up yet. You weren't ready for interviews. I was not
warmed up yet. What a full circle moment. Yeah. And I remember doing that and thinking like I will
like I will never be good at any of this. So to be hosting the official Bachelor podcast,
feels really great and we love watching the show it's something we do together and it just it makes
it makes our job the podcast just that much easier well it is obviously a big deal to be announced
to the host we're going to get into that in just a second but first uh as i jokingly expressed earlier
um you guys do care about your relationship a lot in fact you're planning a wedding in charleston
are the two of you ready for this?
How long has the planning process been?
And is it going to feel weird to be married?
No, they're married.
Well, we are already married.
I guess to have a celebration now.
Yeah.
Yes.
No, I know what you mean.
Yeah, I don't think it's going to feel weird necessarily.
We're definitely excited.
We started planning.
I want to say it was end of September, beginning of October of last year.
So it's been going on for a very long time.
As both of you know, wedding planning is a strenuous, never-ending process, or at least it feels
that way right now, but we're coming to a close.
And we're really excited.
I feel like all the big decisions have kind of been made.
We still have some things on the list of to-dos.
But, yeah, we're like a month, a month and a half out.
We are having the hardest time picking a first dance song.
Yeah.
And there's just things like that that are like.
like hanging over our heads.
But yeah, we're almost there.
Because, I mean, we're getting married, like South Carolina, the South.
Where did you get married?
Nashville.
Kind of the South.
It's like nobody knows what Nashville is.
Yeah, it's like, I guess it's, yeah, I guess it borders like Midwest South.
I just, I'm worried about is just the weather.
I just hope it's not too humid, you know?
Yeah.
Well, we're in the middle of hurricane season when we're getting married in the South.
Is it outside?
we have so the welcome parties outside um now we have like obviously plan B's if it rains and then
our cocktail hour of the wedding is outside um so yeah fingers cross we just need to make it through
two days and obviously we want everyone that's traveling in to charleston to have good weather for the
weekend so they can like really enjoy the getaway but nothing you can do about the weather you know
what about you guys did you have outdoor weddings with weather issues all 50 50 we had backup
up plans. I'm wondering because part of the, I mean, you guys have been married since what,
October of 2022. So it's been, it's going to be over a year. Does it like one of the things that
was weird about a wedding for me was this person that I love who I'm most comfortable with in the
world. I'm also the most nervous to see for like eight hours, right? Like there's like this period of
time where you're like, you know, the butterflies and you're giddy, but you're like, I don't know.
Like, why am I so nervous to see this person that knows me.
better than anybody.
Do you think the same feeling is going to happen for the two of you,
even after being married, you know, for the last year?
I think so.
I'm already, like, when I think about it, I get anxious because I'm already worried about, like,
saying my vows and standing there and seeing her walk up to whatever romantic song
we choose and potentially getting emotional.
So, yeah, like, first, I'm definitely going to have that feeling, even though we are already
married. Now, getting that out of the way, I'm actually really happy we did because when we did
that, it was extremely intense, more intense than I pictured going there. It was more intense going
to the courthouse than you imagined. Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. We really downplayed to ourselves the courthouse
wedding. And I think that's because, like, for a wedding, you have a year's worth of buildup to this one
moment that you've been thinking about and talking about like some people the buildups like their
whole lives and then the moment's finally here and you're walking down the aisle but for us we only
had like two weeks of buildup to the courthouse wedding and we were just like oh yeah this is just
something like fun and casual we're going to do we went at like 930 am on a weekday like I didn't
even dress up which I highly regret looking back we really downplayed it and then when the woman started
reading what are they called like matrimonial yeah like we weren't saying our vows but she gave
the like to have it to hold traditional yeah yeah and serena like i just saw like one tear come down
serena's cheek and i was like don this is don yeah we were like oh my god like i don't think
it really hit us until we were standing there looking at each other getting married that we
were actually getting married um so yeah it was very emotional and we were standing in like
a pink room with like ugly brown carpet so I can only imagine how it's going to feel when we're
like dressed up in a beautiful venue. That's amazing. I want to talk to you guys about Happy Hour for a
second. There's a little drama over the fact that Michelle and Becca weren't exactly like they
didn't like the way that it was handled where they were kind of pushed aside and you guys were
brought in as host. Can you tell us behind the scenes how that all went down? Sure. I don't know
exactly how it went down as far as the show and them as far like I when we got offered the job
I called Becca and let her know because we were both kind of under the impression that all the
podcasts were done I was part of clickbait for almost three years yeah so yeah I just kind of like let her
know and she was honestly she said nothing but nice thing she was like I'm very happy for you like
If I was in your position, I would definitely take it.
So as far as our relationship goes, we're on great terms.
Okay.

Imagine that you're on an airplane and all of a sudden you hear this.
Attention passengers.
The pilot is having an emergency and we need someone, anyone to land this plane.
Think you could do it?
It turns out that nearly 50% of men think that they could land the plane with the help of air traffic control.
And they're saying like, okay, pull this, until this.
Pull that. Turn this.
It's just, I can do my eyes close.
I'm Mani.
I'm Noah.
This is Devin.
And on our new show, no such thing.
We get to the bottom of questions like these.
Join us as we talk to the leading expert on overconfidence.
Those who lack expertise lack the expertise they need to recognize that they lack expertise.
And then, as we try the whole thing out for real, wait, what?
Oh, that's the run right.
I'm looking at this thing.
Listen to no such thing on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
A foot washed up a shoe with some bones in it.
They had no idea who it was.
Most everything was burned up pretty good from the fire that not a whole lot was salvageable.
These are the coldest of cold cases, but everything is about to change.
change. Every case that is a cold case that has DNA right now in a backlog will be identified in
our lifetime. A small lab in Texas is cracking the code on DNA. Using new scientific tools,
they're finding clues in evidence so tiny you might just miss it. He never thought he was going
to get caught. And I just looked at my computer screen. I was just like, ah, gotcha.
On America's Crime Lab, we'll learn about victims and survivors. And you'll meet the team behind the scenes
at Othrum, the Houston Lab that takes on the most hopeless cases to finally solve the unsolvable.

Hi, I'm Jennifer Lopez, and in the new season of the Overcomber Podcast, I'm taking you on an
exciting journey of self-reflection. Am I ready to enter this new part of my life? Like,
am I ready to be in a relationship? Am I ready to have kids and to really just devote myself and
my time. I wanted to be successful on my own, not just because of who my mom is. Like, I felt
like I needed to be better or work twice as hard as she did. Join me for conversations about
healing and growth. Life is freaking hard. And growth doesn't happen in comfort. It happens in
motion, even when you're hurting. All from one of my favorite spaces, The Kitchen. Honestly,
these are going to come out so freaking amazing. Be a part of my new chapter and listen to the new season
of the Overcumper podcast as part of the MyCultura podcast network
on the IHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast.
Serena, you're now a host, and you get to do it with your husband,
which I feel like probably makes it all easier because you guys just probably chat about
this in your regular life.
Now you're just doing it with microphones in front of you.
Yeah, no, it's been good.
definitely like nice to have a small portion of our careers overlap because we are in the same
world and it's nice to kind of have our own separate thing and then also something that we work on
together and it's very easy like obviously we literally are just chatting about the show which is
very natural and organic for us and we actually enjoy podcasting together like we like being
co-host and we work well together so yeah it's been fun so far I'm glad that we get to do it
together and share this kind of part of our, part of our careers.
You know, it is a, this is a show that obviously Michelle and Becca both cared about
because they were outspoken and kind of their maybe sadness or however, I don't
you know, we'll let them put the emotion behind it and just having to say goodbye to it,
which would be weird.
Ashley and I actually talked in the phone after this was kind of announced and said,
wouldn't that be weird if one day we got the phone call and almost famous was like being
handed off to somebody like this, it would feel odd and they'd have to change the logo.
So I think we're going to forbid it.
That's all.
Yeah, that's all.
But it's really great to hear that Becca was so supportive, Joe.
You know, I'm sure there was still some, like, you know, hard feelings a little bit,
but towards you and Serena that she wanted to see success.
That's not the case always in this franchise.
You guys have probably seen.
There's unique examples that I'm sure all of us have on here where people in this franchise want to, you know, destroy you.
If you get an opportunity, they don't.
And so it is good to see.
And so with this new opportunity, one that the former hosts were obviously a little sad to give up, what do you guys want to do with it?
Like, what are you most excited about?
How do you see this opportunity kind of growing as you guys become the host?
Yeah.
I mean, the thing I'm most excited about truly is just working with Serena, my wife.
Like, we have, I feel like we have great chemistry and great, great banter when we.
I hope.
When we podcast, okay?
When we podcast, I feel like we, no, but now when we podcast like this past episode with Aaron B,
you know, we finished and it really doesn't feel like an interview or like work because
I just feel like we jive and we jive so well together.
Like there's a rhythm to it.
So that's what I'm most excited for and like potential opportunities from hosting together.
And hopefully, you know, other entities see us as professional host, which.
would be great.
Yeah, that would be.
Maybe one day we could do the red carpet like Ashley and Jared at the Mission
Impossible event.
So thank you for the opening on that.
I have been dying to talk to Joe about this.
I'm still waiting for that phone call for Ashley and I to get together,
but somehow Jared always replaces me.
We did first look together as well.
That was a really cool for his opportunity.
And we did winter games together, if that counts.
Okay, so Joe, funny situation with Joe, the other day.
we look up it's like a multiple story premiere space in lincoln center and we look up and see joe there
and jared and i are in the press area because jared and i were kind of there as like partially
influencers and then partially press and we saw him when we were in our press area and we knew that
tom was tom cruise was probably going to go and say hello to the influencers up there because he
literally says hello to everyone they told us
we first started, when we first checked in at the press area, they're like, okay, so this is how
it's going to work. Tom Cruise is going to come in. He's going to say hello to every single fan in
the stands. So make sure that you allow like an hour and a half of just that. Then he'll start
making his way around the press. And he's going to, so he's going to talk to every single press outlet.
He's amazing. Now, we are joking with Joe up there. We're like, are you going to go say hi to Tom
when he comes up there? And, you know, he's Joe. He's like, yeah, I'll probably say hi, right?
And then he goes up there.
We see him up there mingling Tom Cruise.
And then Joe text Sharon and goes, I chickened out.
Couldn't shake his hand.
What happened?
So the only one.
The only one.
The only inputs are.
So we're up there.
And like the security guard comes by.
He's like, everyone please focus on the elevator.
Talent will be coming through.
And I'm just like, all right.
Like we'll see.
And then Tom Cruise walks in.
and everybody, everyone's lined up
and they're all talking to him
and he's very engaging
and everyone's smiling and laughing
and I'm like, okay,
and I'm sitting back.
I'm like, yeah, I'm going to go say hi.
And then because I think I hesitated,
I got in my head and I was like,
and then my moment came and I,
and I panicked it.
Did he look at you and like was ready to meet you?
Yeah, and then my hands were getting clammy
so I didn't want to shake his hand.
Wait, is that way you posted that?
thread that was like what's worse
being the person with the clammy
hands or shaking someone's hands
that are clammy? Yeah, and I'm like, I can't
shake Tom Cruise's hand with a clammy
hand. You could have done a pound. He does like
half pounds and half handshakes.
I could have, but it was, you know,
seeing some, like he is like, right? Like, he
is the biggest movie star
on the planet, probably. Is he like the last
like movie star? Like he is
an enlistor. So finally
and finally seeing him in person,
I was like, damn, that's
that's Tom Cruise like serena and I we just watched she watched for the first time risky business
and he's so young in that yeah but you can tell like in that movie he's a movie he's a he's a star
in that movie truly like yeah i remember watching it being like they must have just been like we
struck gold with this guy like yeah it's amazing real breakout role yeah okay well that's just
Joe sent me Joe sent me a photo of us down there he sent me a photo of you guys and then he sent me a photo
and it was like a blurry kind of like behind someone photo.
And I was like, is that Tom Cruise?
Like, is that what this photo is up?
And he was like, yeah.
And I was like, oh my gosh.
You're like next to him.
Like, did you say hi?
He was like, no, I chickened out.
I couldn't do it.
But I realized he was saying hi to everyone except for you, Joe.
You let that out.
Joe, if you're with Serena, I bet you would have more guts.
It's weird when you're by yourself.
If I was with, well, I was with my friend.
But if I was with Serena, she would have said, let's, she would have said right away,
let's go let's go stand up there and then i wouldn't have thought about it whenever i
overthink a situation that's when i get nervous yeah and then i get in my head and then i'm just
like okay well it's just better off i just sit back here but so tom cruise first night of the
bachelorette same same same same same well tom cruise is now uh entered into three of our last
three podcasts it has been a conversation for ashley uh for the last three podcast um to get back to
why we're here. We do have the host, Bachelor Happy Hour, with us. Final question for you
guys. Ashley and I, in seven years of being married through a podcast, we've really, I think,
figured out how to do this. I never worry about the drama between the two of us. We've never really
had it. But we don't agree on everything. In fact, we have some passionate opinions towards
certain things, certain people, certain situations, certain dates. Have you, have you,
you two yet ran into where you're hosting this show and you guys realize you're not going to
agree about this and how do you navigate that and kind of separate the fact that you're also
married and you probably have arguments within that marriage how do you do that in a healthy way
or how do you plan on doing it i think yeah i mean we just in life in general we disagree on
a lot and we respect each other's feelings and decisions and we have normal conversations about it but
In the past, we had hosted, I think we hosted clickbait together a few times, where we did
disagree on things on the podcast and that, like, for me, that's, I have a lot of fun, like,
arguing back and forth and hearing somebody else's point of view.
So, I mean, I truly enjoy it.
I don't know about you, Serena.
I like this.
Yeah.
That's great.
That's great.
No, I do think it makes for fun, interesting conversation when we have differing opinions on
something that's happening on the show and we can kind of go back and forth. I don't think
anything's come up that we were like so passionately disagreeing about that it would result in
any sort of argument. I mean, we're recapping The Bachelor. Like, it's just meant to be
lighthearted and fun. But yeah, there's been no times where like anything transitions from the
podcast where I'm like, how dare you disagree with me on that like later in the day? The Bachelor
franchise? Yeah. Yeah. No. That would not be a good move. Well, we're super happy to have you. We've
always had a great relationship with Bachelor Happy Hour. We look forward to what content you're
putting out there and for the future of the podcast. Congratulations on the job. Again, part two
of this is going to be over on Bachelor Happy Hour. So make sure you just switch on over.
If you're an almost famous loyalist, don't leave us. Don't be crazy. But hey, it doesn't hurt to
put your toes in the water a little bit and listen to Bachelor Happy Hour. So go on over to
listen to Part 2. Until next time, I've been Ben.
I've been Ashley.
