Somebody tell me that.
A shocking public murder.
This was one of the most dramatic events that really ever happened in New York City politics.
I scream.
Get down.
Get down.
Those are shots.
A tragedy that's now forgotten.
End of mystery.
That may or may not have been political.

This is the Ben and Ashley I, Almost Famous Podcast with IHart Radio.
Welcome to the Almost Famous Podcast.
Today, we have the star of the show, Ashley, with us breaking down all the headlines happening in Bachelor Nation.
Ashley, you got to be exhausted.
All these episodes are popping out for Real Housewives Roads.
Island.
You probably can't even leave your house without paparazzi at this point.
You're a star.
I'm a star.
I'm not a star.
To be honest,
life has felt a lot more normal than I expected because everybody talks about the
Bravo fandom and I know it's early.
So like knock on massive amounts of wood.
But everybody talks about the Bravo fandom like coming out and just being so vocal.
And part of it is because like I am not.
I'm not surrounded by drama on the show.
So I'm not getting a ton of tweets
or comments on Instagram that are not from
the people who have already followed me in the past.
I feel like this week was so fun,
but not like wild.
Going on to the Today Show again and stuff like that,
I've never been on The Today Show,
but I've been on Good Morning America a couple times.
And then doing watch what happens live.
That stuff was wild.
So cool.
I told Andy Cohen that like being on,
watch what happens live being on that set
was one of the most, if not the most surreal
talk shows I've ever been on.
Because there's something about the set.
You're not like a Bravo guy and like I haven't really
followed any shows either, but you know.
I know the set.
Yeah, when Andy gets a celebrity in that chair,
they like talk about things that they won't talk about
on the Today Show and Good Morning America.
It's always a little bit more salacious.
So those viral clips are always like, you know,
he gets a lot of viral moments.
on that set.
So that felt very cool.
It was a great time.
I love doing press.
Like, no shame.
Do you like doing?
Like, when you go out there,
like, you get like a little,
a jarlin boost?
Oh, yeah, definitely.
100%.
Especially the Today Show is wild
because it's not fancy.
I mean,
the set is very nice, right?
But, like, the holding room
is just like a big square room
with like a booth.
It's like a garage.
Yeah, it's like, it's not fancy.
And then you're like,
sitting in there and all of a sudden.
Like, I've been in there with some wild people like Megan Fox and Jennifer Lopez.
That is truly wild.
But they get their own room.
It's like a hierarchy of like, hey, how big a deal are you actually?
But it is so fun.
I get it.
And you crush it.
You're doing great.
I'm really proud of you.
It's wild watching this show.
I cannot believe that you've got me to watch in detail.
Not even like watching.
I know, like not even in passing.
I feel like you have been sitting down and truly paying attention to the episodes.
based on what Lauren has told me.
And it brings me great joy to imagine Ben Higgins investing himself in an hour in the
Real Housewives.
It's so funny.
And I just want to thank everybody out there that listens to this podcast that watched this
week, it's so sweet of you.
Thanks for the support.
You guys have been so nice to me on social media.
Is this show doing well?
Do we know?
It continues.
Well, it's number two on Peacock.
So I'm not like they don't know numbers and such.
Number two following, I think it was Bever
Beverly Hills.
Real House House is Beverly Hills.
But also, the office is up there as, like, the top five on Peacock because, like, everybody's
always streaming the office.
Like, everybody has that as their comfort show in the background.
So it's really kind of hard to tell.
And our producer, who knows things more than me, says that Bravo doesn't go by numbers,
but to be number two is amazing.
So, okay, yay.
Yay.
You ready to dive into Bachelor News?
I am.
Yes, I am.
I have some thoughts.
Okay.
Um, first off, Ashley, I know we're getting out of the holiday season. I'm a little sick right now. So if I sound a little stuffy, just bear with me. I'm doing my best. Uh, I was so excited for a nice, relaxing Easter weekend. But, uh, instead, I'm not feeling great. Uh, my nose is still broken. Um, it won't. Now you have a cold with your broken nose. Yeah. So it's a wild mix right now. So how's that feeling? Uh, you have some deviated septum going on?
I think I do.
Yeah.
I think I'm a little bit of a mess.
There's a lot happening on my upper lobe that is not ideal for me.
So I spent most of the weekend surviving, I would say, more than thriving.
So sorry.
But we celebrated, you know, Easter and we still got to do it.
I just, I feel bad because Jessica had huge plans for Easter, and I just wasn't.
Like, I felt like I did it, but I didn't bring anything to it, if that makes sense.
Yeah.
Oh, did wouldn't have a cute little Easter dress?
And did she find eggs?
Oh, my gosh.
She, I'll tell you this story.
So we had a big Easter egg hunt at her little school.
And we trained her.
We had eggs hidden around the house.
Yeah, okay.
Keep practice.
And we gave her her basket, and she would go around and find these eggs.
and she was crushing it.
And in fact, I was like, Jess, we might want to step back a little bit or she's going to
dominate this egg hunt with her, like, peers.
And so we're so excited.
It's the cutest thing.
We show up to her school.
All the kids are there.
They, like, march them out in this, like, long line with the parents and all the kids
are, like, you know, doing the, like, little kid walk out to this playground where the kids
are.
It's so cute.
I'm like, I told Jess, I was like, I can't be here.
I'm going to ball.
Like, it's so sweet.
And it was the funniest.
thing. They open up the gate
and they had a freaking bubble machine
going and all of a sudden
when he turns, looks at the bubbles
machine and goes, bubbles
and just stands and watches the bubbles
for the next 15 minutes as the egg hunts
going on.
The image of you
bawling as like the
siren goes off for like the whistle
like go kids charge
and then you just breaking down.
So funny. I can see it.
Yeah, she's just doing the like little like
Frankenstein walk and then she sees the bubbles.
It's like a minion.
Like bubbles?
Bubbles?
And she found one egg with the assistance of her dad who was like, come on, Winnie.
Get in there.
It was super fun.
We had a good time.
Oh, so cute.
So happy for you guys.
Alrighty.
So let's dive into some Bachelor headlines.
First up, Ben, you go for it.
Rachel Rechia addresses harsh criticism about her
appearance. Ashley, I saw this headline. I haven't dove into it too much because it kind of feels
like one of those. It's like, this is ridiculous. Rachel's beautiful. Why is this a headline?
But the more and more I learn, this is something like really affecting her in a way. Like this is,
this is a thing. This isn't like a passing comment. She feels like people are being really harsh.
Yeah. Rachel is so beautiful. And I love her look right now. People have been telling her. Like,
she says that every time she gets a post.
And she said that she's normally pretty okay that people are talking about her online.
But she said that she feels like recently things have gotten really, really bad.
She goes, whenever I post, a majority of the comments are like, I don't look like myself,
or I don't look good or I look sick.
And I was so much more beautiful back then.
I understand that I look different from the first time that everybody saw me.
I've been very open and transparent about the filler and Botox that I've had.
I would do anything to be 25 and look that way again.
another thing is I really wanted to touch on as my weight fluctuation that I've had throughout
the years. She said that she got really sick before filming perfect match. She even needed a pick line
in her arm, which ended up having her lose weight. She said because of that, I got to the
smallest way I've ever been. Right after I got that pick line out of my arm, I went to film the show,
and I went down and I lost even more weight. And when you go on the show...
Hey, Ashley, let me pause you there, though. Do we know what the pick line?
was four? She does not talk about what she had when she was sick.
So she goes, when you go and you're on a show, the main thing people are telling you is like
how big I was when I was on The Bachelorette. So people are like saying like, oh, wow, like
you've lost so much. I'm assuming that people were like, you've lost so much weight since the
Bachelorette. And then you see yourself at a different way and it's hard to let yourself
gain weight after that. That sounds like she's had, you know, obviously.
body image issue since being on TV.
And she said, I definitely struggled with my body image since.
So yes, I was right.
And it's something that I'm working on.
She said that you see my face right now, slim down.
There's so much going on in the reality TV space with women and women and coming after women
and coming after how they look and coming after what they're doing.
And she just said she's been struggling with this.
And I have to say that, like, I just want her to be happy and healthy.
and I think that she's always beautiful.
Like she's like so beautiful inside and out.
I love Rachel.
I know people would make fun of her like eyebrows for being lighter and like for her kind of going for like an Ariana Grande look.
But like I think she looks so good in any way that she puts herself because she's like seriously that beautiful.
Like she just like radiates.
So Rachel, you do whatever makes you feel good and makes you of course be physically healthy.
And we don't know exactly, you know, what was going on with her health.
But we hope that she's over that.
And we hope that she can get, you know, a better body image.
It's so hard to be under all this criticism.
Sure it is.
You is throwing it back.

You look at the top four number one seeds.
What do you think UCLA is going to do?
Break down that for me, my friend.
Obviously, Yukon is the overwhelming favorite in this tournament,
But I'll be honest, I think people are kind of sleeping on Texas.
Experts are suggesting that UCLA is the number one challenger to Yukon and that right after that would be Texas.
S&C is so deep and so thinking just about everything.
It really is annoying.
So it's UCLA, Texas, South Carolina, LSU.
Only ones that could possibly upset Yukon.
On Flagrant and Funny, we're giving our unfiltered takes on the biggest moments, the conversations everyone's having.

Why hasn't a woman
formally participated in a Formula One race weekend
in over a decade?
Think about how many skills
they have to develop at such a young age?
What can we learn from all of the new
F1 romance novels suddenly popping up every year?
He still smelled of podium champagne and expensive friction.
And how did a 2023 event called Wag Agetten change the paddock forever?
That day is just seared into my memory.
I'm culture writer and F1 expert Lily Herman,
and these are just a few of the questions I'm tackling on no grip,
a Formula One culture podcast that dives into the under-explored pockets of the sport.
In each episode, a different guests and I will go deeper into the wacky mishaps,
scandals and sagas, both on the track and far away from it, that have made F1 a delightful,
decadent dumpster fire for more than 75 years.
Listen to no grip on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
On to kind of different news, a friend of the show, Hakeem Moulton, is expecting a baby.
I laugh only because Akeem is silly and I saw this real.
Go ahead. Sorry, bad. I'll get you off. No, you're good. With girlfriend Monica and Bachelor
nation is reacting to this.
Okay.
Yesterday when I saw his reel about having a pregnant girlfriend, I was like, is he
like, he's just referring to somebody that he doesn't know, right?
His girlfriend's not pregnant.
He talked about her during this time on our show, right?
He said that like there was like family issues and they had like broken up, but then
got back to.
That's right.
Yeah.
Her family doesn't like him.
That's what he was telling us.
Yeah.
But when I saw this real, I thought that he was like just referring to some other person's girlfriend.
I was like, his girlfriend can't possibly be pregnant.
Oh, no, no, no, no.
His girlfriend is pregnant.
And the baby is coming in October.
That soon.
He's been talking about how to keep her happy on social media.
It's not a vague girlfriend.
It is his actual girlfriend.
What do you mean keep her happy?
You know, like giving her food and like how hard it is to, you know, keep a pregnant lady in their first
trimester happy because we're very needy, especially during that first trimester.
Yeah, that just feels like a lifetime ago. I don't even remember it.
Yeah, she showed up a positive pregnancy test just like this week on Instagram.
And it was their friend sharing news on FaceTime with some of their friends, including Grant and Jonathan Johnson and Brandon Jones.
And they look all completely shocked as she displays her sonogram.
Well, new life is entering into the Bachelor world.
A friend of the show, Hakeem Moulton, is expecting his first child.
People thought it was a prank because he did it on April Fool's Day.
That's a terrible day to do that.
What was he doing?
I guess he was trying to do the ultimate April Fool's thing where it's like, oh, April Fool's.
I was like, oh, actually, no.
That seems I got the Bachelor call.
I got my Bachelor call on April Fool's Day.
You don't do, I don't get on social media on April 1st.
ever. I'm faked out by everyone's. Yeah, I don't do it. I told Jess this year, I'm not getting
on Instagram, Twitter, TikTok, nothing. There will be no Instagram or there'll be no social media
on April 1st. And it's actually great. I have no clue what people are lying about. So,
hey, Ashley, I know this is a headline that you and I both are very intrigued by. Yeah, we may have
talked about it behind the scenes. A little bit. A lot of it. Former Bachelor producer reveals
juicy details of relationship with Peter Weber in new book.
So Julie Laplaca is a Bachelor producer that Ben and I, well, she's not currently,
but she was on our time.
She's the greatest.
We love Julie.
She's so wonderful.
Very bubbly.
Very fun.
Very sweet.
So there were rumors about her and Peter Weber.
You may remember during his season, after his season especially.
when they were seen out doing all the press together.
She was his main producer,
so it's not weird to us
to have your main producer
being seen out with you during press.
But there was some people are really convinced
that there was more than just producing going on here.
And in her new book,
which is called The Love Producer,
she talks about this connection
that they did truly have.
She says,
she told Entertainment Weekly,
she's already on a press store for this book.
It doesn't come out until July.
Ben and I have read the book.
We got,
did you get a digital copy?
I got a hard copy.
I'm still like the,
I love the book so much.
Again, you're a star and I'm not,
but I got the digital copy.
No, she said,
she said, what would you prefer?
And I much prefer a handheld book.
Oh, yeah.
I'll tell you this.
It's a good read.
It's also wild.
Ben says this smiling.
Guys,
it's crazy.
You got to read it.
You're going to just be like, I stayed, I texted her multiple times being like, you are the reason that I'm up to 1 a.m.
Yeah.
Because I can't, I have to get through this chapter.
This is so good.
So if you're a Bachelor fan and you're just like a fan of like steamyness and romcums, like you got to read this book.
The love producer really will be coming on our show in a couple months when the book launches.
And all I'll tell you is what Julie did tell Entertainment Weekly. Sorry, I missed this quote before.
Peter and I instantly connected. He felt like an immediate, he felt like an immediate best friend. My job is digging into his heart, getting him to be vulnerable. And I was doing the same. There were moments where I was like, wow, I'm more open with Peter than I was with my boyfriend of five years at that point. It is an interesting bond that people don't see the intimacy with the lead producers. And it got complicated.
and the lines became blurred.
Just to be clear, this doesn't happen with every lead and the lead producer.
Maybe like a young, well, she wasn't single technique.
Well, was she single at the time?
I forget now the timeline.
I think she may have been single with Peter.
But like, maybe like you don't put like a cute single producer with a cute single guy who's dating 25 girls.
Who was your lead producer?
It was Cassie Lambert for a long time
Who was Pete Scalotar's wife
Who was just like from a hometown near me
And then when she she couldn't travel because of kids
Yeah
Lindsay Liles stepped in
Okay so Lindsay also married at the time
It was like soon after shit her first
She was pregnant with us on Winter Games
She was like in her third trimester
During the beginning of Winter Games
Again back in the day especially
I don't know anymore
much.
The Bachelor was such a well-oiled machine.
They didn't make any decision without it being thought through.
So you think that they put these two together to even complicate and muddy an already
emotionally messy Peter Weber, who I love Peter.
I think like he, he's, he's great.
I love him.
But we all know that he had some problems making decisions in his season.
and I'm sure.
He wasn't thinking with his brain.
I think he had these feelings maybe for Julie
was also muddying more moves.
Maybe the moves that he was making.
I also think that it would have been the greatest twist ever.
And I know people were wanting it to happen
if he was like,
I'm not going to choose either of these two in the end.
I'm choosing my producer.
Julie in the book, I'll tease you this.
She had dreams.
that this would happen.
It's a wild read.
Make sure you stay tuned for the book's release.
Ben and I are straight giddy.
Yeah.
I had no clue what I was opening up to read,
and when I started reading it,
very soon after I went, whoa, all right.
And then I dove in and did not stop.
Tyler Cameron envisions having three kids
with girlfriend Tate in the next five years.
These two are so cute together.
they are but they're not engaged yet right no that's like okay every post that goes up of
tyler cameron and his girlfriend i'm like is the engagement post and then every post with michael alio
and his girlfriend jade i'm like is this the engagement post is this the engagement post because
every single post that michael puts up is extremely lovy-dovey and about like their family being
together you know like a united family and then with tyler
you know, Tyler and this girl are obviously getting married.
This is what he says.
And the next five years, we're married.
This is him envisioning.
We have a three-year-old, a two-year-old and a one-year-old.
Okay, so Tyler, what's the engagement happening?
Yeah.
Yeah.
No, he said, maybe we have a three-year-old and a one-year-old.
Yeah, yeah, that's probably more accurate.
Maybe a three-year-old and a one-and-a-half-year-old, you know.
He continued with more aspirations for him and Tate.
He goes, I don't know where we're living.
I would like to say it's where we're living right now.
I really love where we live.
I love the area.
In three to five years, I hope we have our own HG TV type show and her renovating homes together and we're on TV doing stuff.
And she said, they were saying that like maybe that would be difficult with kids.
I actually think that that would be a really cute projection for them to be very much, what have their names, you know, the couple, the HGTV couple.
Chip and Joanna?
Chip and Joanna.
They give you the next chip in Joanna.
Yeah.
Yeah, no, I mean, I think it's a, I mean, they're both talented at it.
They're both big personalities.
There's great.
I'd say have as many kids as you can possibly have.
That's awesome.
Kids are great, but you need to start trying.
And you need to have one before you could really decide how many you want.
Yeah, I would say like, just test the waters a little bit and then decide.
I would say great.
I loved it.
And but if you told me I'm going to have like five kids, I'd be like, that sounds wild.
I don't know.
You just wants four.
So you guys better get on it now, too.
That's the nice thing about marrying somebody younger than you.
I know.
I don't feel of stress.
Pretty great.
No is throwing it back.
To the days of huge hits and unforgettable.
A non-stop stream of the biggest and best.
Drake, Rihanna, Beyonce.
Katie Gaga.

That's embarrassing.
That's April Fool's.
Wait, how did you know it was April Fool's?
I just found out 10 minutes ago.
I think I saw the comments.
Oh.
Also, I'm always faked out by Becca Martinez.
Becca Martinez, I love her Instagram.
She always does great April fools.
And for some reason, she always gets us.
She did one.
She did pretend like she had a sponsorship with McDonald's.
She goes, pinch me.
Hashtag McDonald's partners.
Partner hashtag Mick Buns.
I've worked with a lot.
lot of brands, but nothing has quite hit like this. And I was like, oh, I love the authenticity
going into this ad. I would have feel the same way partnering up with McDonald's. And it's a picture
of her kids holding a bunny and then holding McDonald's and then says introducing McDonald's first
ever limited edition fried rabbit sandwich, the McBuns. Yep, you read that right.
Crispy, succulent and layered with garlic aoli on sourdough. It's a bold twist.
on your favorite Golden Arches Classics
available through May 1st,
wall supplies last.
Everything was totally written like an ad.
And at the end,
she even has like offer valid exclusively
at participating locations.
So I don't know if you know,
but Becca, like, raises bunnies and then she eats them.
And she's had like this kind,
it's kind of controversial, obviously,
on her Instagram.
And she's,
just so outspoken about it and just like doesn't give it a
where like
I really don't know where I stand with this.
I don't think I'm a fan but
it's interesting to tell you about
this what she does with these bunnies.
So she has her children like create these relationships
with the bunnies and then they
kill them and then they eat them.
Yeah. And like I feel like you've
kind of had that child. I was going to say
it's not, I mean I'm like I'm like
Yeah. And like, and, you know, you have problems.
So people like will argue with her about the appropriateness of this. And I would love to know your take on that.
Death is a part of our life. I think it's so much more admirable to feed yourself and those around you when you've made the kill than going to a grocery store and buying it.
There's something. This is her argument.
Yeah, there's something sacred.
There's something sad.
There's something difficult about taking the life of something else.
And so I have, I'll be, I'll say it like this.
I have a, I mean, I don't like go out and kill the food for my family any, like at all.
I'm not like, I don't know doing that.
But there is something very respectful about somebody who is willing to take the life of an animal to feed.
I want to be clear.
to feed those around them.
So it's not fun.
Yeah, I mean, I think it's uncomfortable
and it should be.
It sucks.
Think about being the person that does it.
But also, Ashley, think about being the person in the warehouse
in the slaughterhouse that's killing thousands of animals every day
and packaging it up and sitting it there.
So, like, somebody's going to do it.
You're either going to do it in a humane way
in a way that cares and loves,
or are you going to do it in a way that's like an assembly line?
No, you're so right.
You're so right.
And I do think it's helpful for kids to understand.
The food chain?
Well, the sadness that comes with death.
Like, it's sad.
You build.
If I was a kid, I think I would just become a vegetarian.
I think this would be my route in becoming a vegetarian.
