all right team we're live at the iHeart studios in los angeles california with the live audience
our first real live podcast audience give a shout out
This is Ashley and Jared's wedding shower and everybody out there listening, including the audience that's here, is going to be able to participate.
We've got a big night ahead of us.
I love this.
We want to give a special thank you to Crate and Barrel for putting this on.
They've been a huge sponsor of the podcast for months now.
Yay, thank you.
And this event is going to be nothing but special.
Ashley and Jared, I have a special gift.
for you, but before I give it to you, I want to ask the two of you, why did you choose
crate and burial for your registry? What I love about crate and barrel is that I feel like
it's adult furniture in the best way that I say that. Because Jared and I, well, he moved
into an apartment with my sister. It was my sister in my apartment. And we were only there
for like a month until we realized that it was probably this smartest decision to move in together.
He didn't, you know, we just, it would have. It would have.
have been logistically really weird if we did live apart. Anyway, the bottom line here is that
we had like a really girly apartment. We had a decorator come in and like make all these crystal
chandeliers and everything had like a shade of pink attached to it. So what we're really excited
about is when we are a married couple to totally redecorate the place, make it a little bit more
masculine, but definitely timeless and classic. And crate and barrel has everything for every
room and you know that it's going to be well made it's going to last so long and um it's just going
it's it's going to be quality classic timeless style for a lifetime jared everything ashley just said
no crane and barrel's awesome man like every time you go in there i just want to spend a lot a lot of
money so it's really nice to have crayon barrel be our wedding registry because then other people can
buy a stuff that we really like that's the best part when we were registering he was like
Like, I feel like this is just, we're free, free stuff.
It's all free stuff.
It's like, well, it's free for us, I guess.
I was like, yeah, it was just you went around and scanning.
It was like, yeah, I like those wine glasses, click.
I like those towels, click.
With the price tag on this, click, you know?
I never thought I'd be so excited over something that came in the mail from actually
podcast fans.
It's been amazing how many people listen to the podcast or see our Instagram and we don't even
know them, but they send us gifts to our crate and barrel registry.
This week we got a dual curing and coffee maker so you can make a pot or coffee cup.
It was very exciting for us.
What's your favorite coffee?
Duncan.
I only drink Duncan.
It's so bad at Starbucks.
I make it every morning.
Yeah.
You guys know I have a coffee company.
Oh!
We just go Dunkin.
Generous coffee is the best coffee.
It's my favorite coffee.
I will say that like in bag form, it's a general.
Generis and Duncan, I think Generis' bag at home form is better than the Duncan at John's
form.
And I'm about to save you.
This is a gift that Ashley has been telling me about for months now.
Lauren, Ashley's sister is actually in the audience.
She's going to be moving out, right?
And this will be moving in.
This is to you, Ashley, Jared.
Thank you, Ben.
Is it going to be as good as the coffee maker?
We'll see.
I'm already hurt.
I wish I was quick enough to, like, think about that.
Yeah, that's been nice.
Hey, Jared, how about you read into the microphone what I wrote into the card, please.
I figured I just read it silently.
It says, the big day is almost here.
Keyword almost.
From Ben Higgins.
Love Ben Higgins is what I was hoping it would say.
Yes, love, love Ben Higgins.
know what these are.
I don't know what those are.
They're the blue curtains.
Oh, yay!
Yay!
Okay, so a little backstory.
That's when you know you're getting old.
You get excited about blue curtains.
I may have told then that if you were to get anything off the registry, I really wanted
to blue curtains because our dog likes to lift his leg and pee on our curtains.
He's moving out with Lauren.
He's Lauren's dog, but he's our family dog as well.
You're scary.
That's perfect, man. Thank you.
And it's perfect because ours are now sparkly silver.
So to make it more masculine, we're going to make the family room blue curtains.
This will already be the most manly thing in the entire house.
So thank you for that.
It's his favorite decorating color.
That's amazing.
Real quick, I want to talk about the transition now to, we have a lot to talk about tonight.
One of the things I want to talk about is a transition to,
living just with the two of you.
Your sister has been with you for a while
and you've talked about how great it's been.
Should Lauren come up here?
I think, Lauren, let's come up here for a second.
Round of applause for Lauren.
I can't wait to ask because
the craziest thing about Ashley
is I always expect some wild stories
to be told about a sister living
with a couple that's engaged
and there's yet to be one.
We have no content of crazy dramatic stories
that are happening.
Lauren, what has it been like
to live with this couple?
oh it's so easy it really is are you kidding me
Ashley let her talk I have to listen to a lot of sponsored ads every single day
that's probably the hardest thing
is I have to listen to Ashley mess up and do it over again mess up and over again
Jared's very good about it
one take wonder one but if you get
if Jared can't land it the anger
oh yeah that's what I get it's unbelievable how angry you get
from a stupid Instagram story if you mess up once you're like
damn it
well I want to ask you though
so to get serious for a second
what have you seen about their love story
kind of play out over the last year
and I want to ask every person that comes up here
because everybody knows them personally
what have you witnessed and what have you seen
that's inspired you or also that you've learned from
you're going to make me cry Ben
I cry every time
I know Lauren can't talk about us
without their I know it's like so cliche
but they're best friends
but they also push each other to be better
and it's kind of like
they just lift each other up every day
rather than tearing them down
and they're just
really cute together.
There's an interesting story
I want to tell why you're up here
I want to talk about.
I was outside doing an interview
and the reporter asked
when was it that you kind of recognize
that this could be something again
for Ashley and Jared
and I thought back
I was like I know this exact moment
And so we were in Carmel, California.
We had gotten off of Winter Games.
Ashley, what a lot of people don't know is I really met Ashley from the podcast.
We had known each other off and on before the podcast.
But when we really started to get to know each other personally was really our first time doing this.
And for me, this podcast is super special because we had planned it for two months.
I didn't know Ashley.
I was nervous about this whole new venture.
Amy, our producer, was just getting this thing started.
It was an experiment.
and it just so happened that the week that Lauren I broke up was the week that we've recorded
our first episode.
Yeah, we dated for a little bit.
No, I'm kidding.
The other, Lauren.
And so we dive into this whole podcast world where it's meant to be intimate and it's
meant you're really meant to share content that's vulnerable and real.
And I was in the most real place in my life ever.
And then I meet Ashley, who is also in the most real place of her life.
Because at that point, her and Jared were really good friends.
but they were friends and I kept asked and I've always loved Jared we met on our season of The Bachelorette
and I've always had a lot of respect for him as a man and as a person
I was like this couple works like why isn't it working I would always ask I
mess with Ashley to the point where I almost felt like I was offending her like why aren't
you and Jared dating she's like we're just friends and he would sleep on her couch and
stuff and it was weird and I never got it weird I always defended Jared when you
would ask me those questions I was like don't bring it up because like I know that he's
sensitive yeah it was it was weird but here's what it was odd but here's what happened
And so I see Ashley in this season of life that I'll explain from a distance saying that she was questioning a lot.
She didn't know where life was taking her.
She was getting ready to turn 30.
There were a lot of big obstacles in her way.
And she was super emotional.
And the emotional Ashley that we loved, but we also felt for often because her emotions were real and true.
And you'd sit there and you'd see her share these things about life and these big questions that she have and kind of break down.
And as her friend at that point and somebody that had had.
already kind of gone through a rough season of my life with her, there isn't a really good
response other than sit in it. So then we decided to do winter games together, which was a wild
deal for me. I had not expected to go back on a show. Ashley and I talked about it, and we decided
to give it a shot. So we go on Winter Games, and she dives in head first because she is in that
season of life with a lot of things that are open to her. And she ends up exploring a relationship
with Kevin, and they end up breaking up. And we're going on a car ride, just Ashley and I, right after
this whole scenario and we start talking and i could and ashley goes can i ask you a question i said
yeah she goes jared just told me that he has feelings for me and i don't know what to do about it
and i said what do you want to do about it she's like i think i want to see if it could work
and at that moment like i almost tried to talk you out of it i remember i sat in the parking
oh my god i was just going to call you out on that yeah i almost i was like wait you i can't see
and the reason i was like i don't want you to set up for disappointment yeah like you
definitely were like defensive about it like I felt like you didn't fully believe it or you thought
I was exaggerating. I did. I think I remember like are you over like analyzing this situation? Does
he really care about you because I know how fragile you are right now? Like are you actually
willing to dive into this and is he willing to dive into this? Because once you do, there's
there's two paths to complete happiness or a lot of emotion and a lot of sorrow and a lot of
sadness. And I don't want to see you that again. Before I know, they're diving back in.
and look at them today.
And I'll say this about Ashley today,
and then this is going to be about Jared
and Ashley as a couple.
And Jared, this is a compliment to you,
and I want to know if you've seen this as well.
There's been this, like, transformation
that is so tangible in Ashley,
where there's a confidence
and there's a steadfastness
and there's a clarity and a quality of the life
where she isn't a nervous wreck
walking into the studio anymore.
She's confident.
She's at peace.
Even when things are swirling around her,
she knows that she has her rock beside her.
And there's just this stability to Ashley.
And I don't know if you, as listeners to the podcast,
if you've noticed it.
But there's a tangible stability to Ashley's life that is,
that really happened when Jared came into it.
And it's been one of the coolest things for a friend to see and also for a co-host
to see.
And Lauren,
I want to know if you've seen it.
Every time she does something that I'd be like, I would get my pants, you know.
I would be very nervous.
Like today, she went to go get her first fitting for her way.
dressing dress very exciting i would be a nervous wreck but she is so confident in everything she does
i'm like how do you do it she's just like so confident literally ever since jared kind of admitted
her feelings nothing makes her nervous wait stability is a great word though because i always keep saying
like in my head i'm like i'm so much more emotionally stable she doesn't cry anymore guys
it's kind of sucks it's so boring it sucks sometimes i do question my like if i'm more boring now
Like, that's one of my biggest insecurities.
We did this, I don't get a podcast, about, like, what we are most insecure about now.
And I actually said that I feel like I could be boring to my audience because I'm so emotionally stable.
It's not boring, just good.
People should be happy for you.
It's working, right?
And that's that new transition.
Jared, let's backtrack.
And then I have some direct questions for you.
But what happened leading up to that moment to where you wanted to express your feelings, Ashley?
well we did a 45 minute video on it let him just tell the story he'll say it again you guys just got a glimpse into our lives i get asked a question and actually answers
yeah i mean obviously we talked about it before but it was more like you said i mean i think for a long time
uh and nick can attest to this because he knows me pretty well i'm very uh he looks thrilled in the
He looks so happy.
I am a man of comfort.
I like kind of like my little place in this world.
And Ashley is the complete opposite of that.
And Ben, like you were saying earlier,
if Ashley and I were to ever date after our first season of paradise,
it would have gone one of two ways,
either complete happiness or complete sadness.
And I think that was always kind of terrifying for me
because I was always confused about my feelings.
and so I never really was willing to dive in.
And then, of course, we were best friends, and we would talk all the time.
So life was good, and nothing ever needed to be changed.
And then all of a sudden, something changed.
And she started dating someone else, and I kind of looked, you know, I was living in Rhode Island.
Well, I was actually living with Nick at the time.
But I was in Rhode Island when I was kind of finding everything out about winter games.
And, I mean, I heard rumors that she was engaged.
And I was like, just, you know, obviously in my room.
in my own head trying to think of, you know, what I should do, how much of an idiot I've been,
how I've, haven't said anything in the past three years, haven't done anything.
I haven't said anything.
You know, you just, all of a sudden, you blink, you know, you go on this crazy adventure
at the Bachelor and Bachelor in Paradise, and you kind of just like roll with everything that
happens from it, and all of a sudden you blink and three years of your life goes by and
you're like, holy shit, have I said anything that I've truly meant?
And so, and then, you know, we were in St. Lucia.
We had a pre-planned trip with our friends, Tanner, and Jade, and Paul and Kate, and, and, and, and, and, and so I decided I had to go down there and say something, and then that was when everything changed.
And now we sit here today, getting prepped for the biggest day of your lives.
Ashley and Jared, this is all came full circle.
You're a couple, just like the world intended to be.
What are you most excited for for this wedding day?
what are you most excited about i think i'm most excited
i'm most excited to be i think we have a sick oh oh okay never mind well i was going to say i'm
i'm most excited about to be in one room with the people that i care most about in this world
um to celebrate this day it's friends and family and to celebrate our love and and and just to
have that moment you know with everybody together i think that's what i'm most excited about
I'm the I am more excited about something specific and I guess that's just like the doors opening to the church and seeing Jared and then being next to my dad Jared do you think he'll cry on the wedding day um I don't know that's a great question I cried I cried at my sister's wedding
oh so you're a goner for this one when I never thought I'd cry and then I saw at my sister's wedding they had a uh a carry
I was in the Grunzwood Party.
That was definitely the most tearful moment, yeah.
Yeah, there was a carriage where my dad and my sister, you know, pulled up.
It was just a big day, you know.
Dude, you're going to bawl.
Oh, man, this is what I love.
So this is what I love about Jared, too, is he is, so he knocked me out once during the Bachelet.
Oh, my God, it was.
No, knock me to the ground.
It was a punch to the face.
Tough dude.
Real tough dude.
But he's a dude that can.
cry also. When those doors swing
open and Ashley's standing there
it's going to be tough obviously because
Lauren's going to be there. My dad is my best man
so he'll be standing right next to me. We're walking down the aisle
together. Yeah so Big Fred in her.
Big Fred is my dad's
name. Big Fred. And
he'll be walking Lauren down the aisle
which would be a very nice moment.
Lauren's going to cry right now. I'm totally fine
everyone. Ashley
for you, you know
I've never, I don't think I've asked you
Is the wedding day something that you've thought of for a long time or for all of the kind of princess moments that you've wanted to have in life?
Was the wedding ever a part of that in your mind?
Oh, yeah, definitely.
Because I've always imagined the day, I'm kind of flabbergasted by how calm I am about the planning process and how actually anti-briadzilla I've been.
Right, Lauren?
Like, it's almost been weird.
Like, I did my fitting, my bridal dress, like my bridal dress.
my wedding dress fitting
my wedding gown
was I did that this morning
and like I didn't cry
and just like super happy
and I think it's like so amazing
but nothing about it
they're like what about your earrings
what about your shoes
and like how about a bracelet
I'm like I don't care whatever
the important thing is taking care of
that you're just marrying Jared
yeah yeah
which I feel like
and tell me if I'm wrong
months ago before Jared
in your mind would have like
either made you emotional
or freaked you out
to a point of instability
Like, there is this stability to your life now that I feel like is tangible, and this is a good example of it.
I feel like everything's in perspective.
Yeah, I also think it's just, it's planning, right?
It's like anything in life.
Once you start planning something, it becomes like a part-time job.
And you're like, okay, well, we got to get this done and get that done and blah, blah, blah, blah.
And it's like, you know, just day after day after day.
And I think hopefully what I'm hoping for is that the week leading up the wedding, it's going to be like, holy shit, we're getting married this week.
Yeah, I think that's one's really going to dawn on us.
I think right now, because wedding planning actually is very similar to like our part-time job,
like a lot of like logistics and scheduling and like doing this and then doing that and then running there and blah,
I feel like it, we don't even realize sometimes that there's a difference between our wedding and our job.
It has been filled with many incredible moments though.
Like a lot of moments that you just kind of look back at right now.
You're like, wow, that was, you know, this is it.
This is, we're planning for this day.
I think when we picked out the venue, that was like the big day of.
the most memorable day. Holy crap. And it's cool.
Our wedding planner, his name is Troy Williams. He's, like, the most eccentric man
you'll ever meet. He's fantastic, though.
And so, like, having him a part of this entire process, like, him flying to Rhode Island
with us and, like, doing all these things and food tastings and venues and, like, being able
to do it with my friends and family and, like, showing my parents and her parents, like,
her parents, like, her parents, my parents, us. That was one of the best parts of planning as well.
We went to the venue, and it was like, guys, this is where we're going to get married.
And then this is where the reception's going to be. And, like, Dad, you're
you're going to stand there and my mom you're going to be right there and it's like that's the
exciting part of being like yeah this is this is where it's all going to happen this is where it's
going to be so that's been the by far the most fun of wedding planning thus far being able to do it
with with our family and uh and just like the anticipation of like yeah this is this is crazy
like what do you what should we do like do you want to stand there do you want to stand there you
know well when it comes to things like that then i have an immediate opinion i either have
an immediate opinion that i feel strongly about or have no opinion at all
at all, and I can be like, you can just choose.
Jared, choose it out.
Well, hey, we're going to bring up a couple more guests tonight.
We have a packed house full of Bachelor Nation in here
and Bachelor contestants that are friends of yours
who are either married, going to be getting married,
maybe looking for a relationship,
and they're going to come up tonight
and share as much advice and perspective as possible with the two of you.
Everybody out there, give a round of applause for Lauren
for coming up here and answering some questions.
Thank you, Lauren.
I would like to see you and Lauren do a podcast.
Like, if I'm not here one week, you and Lauren should do it.
I think we're hilarious.
I've always thought Lauren was great.
And you know what else I think is great is crate and barrel?
So let's take a second to talk about Creight and Barrel.
It's obviously our wedding.
But I do have to say that throughout all the stress of planning, I do need some me time.
It's actually more important than ever.
And my morning routine has been enhanced by some of the gifts that Ger and I have been
getting from our wedding registry from Crate and Barrel.
These gifts have been coming in.
far before our bridal shower and our wedding,
and it's been awesome.
I've gotten the best, like, fluffy, soft, Turkish towels,
robes, bath mats that make my morning shower and my coffee,
so much more enjoyable.
Sounds nice, Ash.
You wouldn't even know.
Like, I didn't know this before,
but Crane Barrow actually has a wide assortment of spa products
like shampoos, lotions, and candles.
So I'll lie in our bath.
I'll light some candles.
it's good.
It's just like a little period.
Jared's getting all worked up over there.
I can see him.
Oh, he loves a good bath.
Like, that man loves a bath.
And, like, he thinks, like, he, like, thinks water is the sexiest thing ever.
So, like, you know, decorate a bathroom nicely.
And, like, Jared's in a good mood.
So if you guys are getting married out there, I highly suggest creating a registry with
crate and barrel because not only can get stuff for your kitchen, your family room,
your bedroom, you can also get stuff for your bathroom and the towels are to die for.
You can start your crate and barrel registry now at crate and barrel.com slash wedding dash registry.
Again, highly suggest you do your registry or at least one of them with Creighton barrel,
creton barrel.com slash wedding dash registry.
All right.
Coming up to the hot seat next is Chris and Crystal.
Chris and Crystal.
Get up on here.
They're over here.
Come on up.
You guys can take my seat and the seat across.
I'm going to grab a new mic.
Just please don't mess up my papers.
This is how it's going to work.
We're going to get to hear about your lives
and the lives of the people coming up here.
And then we have a couple things
that we want to talk to Jared and Ashley about.
But this is ultimately a night to celebrate Jared and Ashley.
This is not a roast, even though it kind of feels like it
with him sitting up here in the middle.
It's okay if you roast a little bit.
That would be fun.
You can toast me.
Nick's not allowed to roast me.
the uh so chris and crystal this uh you guys are a paradise couple um you met in paradise you fell in love
in paradise how are you handling engagement you want to take that um it's been a a wild ride
come tomorrow would be actually one year that we uh known each other so but uh i would say it's
for the most part, it's been incredible, but also definitely challenging at times. And it's those
moments that help you kind of understand picking each other up and making each other better and
the definition of a team. So that's something I really enjoy. Yeah, I agree. And I think that for a lot
of you who don't know, Chris was in Florida and I was in San Diego. So we were on the completely
opposite sides of the country for a few months, like after the engagement, when we had to keep
a secret and no one could know
and as soon as
I was like the week before the finale
he actually came out to San Diego to
live with me in 300
square feet
with two dogs. Is that only the size of the stage?
No it's got to be smaller. Or maybe
it was divided by three rooms too
plus a bathroom in a closet.
It was very intimate, very
small and we actually had no problems
with it and it was
Chris and I
giving up our old selves to
start this life in this chapter together and when we met we were both like we don't ever want to
get married so it was wild that we got engaged but I think we just saw you know ourselves in each other
and it allowed us to kind of make peace with the past of who we were and find love within each other
so it's been a real blessing let's sit there for a second because you just said something that
is not tying into my next question at all as you said when you guys first met your reaction
those we're not going to get married like we're not going to get married but just
individually like we're not interested in getting married what changed yeah the first
conversation we were in the pool like second day of paradise and she was like you know I really
don't ever want to get married and I like I like look back at her and I was like you were like
tight type that's exactly what I said I was like yeah me neither you know and then like from there
just kind of over time
kind of changed our perception throughout
paradise, I guess.
Well, and there was more.
Well, yeah.
I was going to say, is this because
you guys both came from single moms?
Yes, it was that conversation.
Yeah, I think when you come from
like divorced families, you
tend to be kind of apprehensive
of wanting to get married
because you saw a huge breakup
and how it affects the family.
So yeah, I would say that definitely plays a key role
for sure.
So then what was the moment?
And this was the question I was going to ask, because I don't, and Ashley tries to explain
Paradise to me all the time.
And I've, I've only been down to visit and I've never quite got it, but it works.
It works a lot.
It works often.
What was the moment then that maybe the viewers didn't see or maybe we just didn't pick up on
where you went, time out?
Like what I thought was happening when I came into this has now completely changed because
of this other person.
Well, for me, it was the morning after we had our first.
kiss, which was about
eight days into paradise.
That's a long time into paradise.
That's like a lifetime.
That's like a lifetime.
It's like a lifetime.
That's like at least three months
out here, okay?
Really?
In the real world.
Yeah, really is
because just so you guys know
you spent about 20 hours all day long
together in paradise and you're
kind of putting these conversations with
producers where you really
dive in deep head first.
and you tackle the hard stuff right away.
So I knew, you know, Chris's values and I just knew, like, intimate details of his life
about his father and the role he played and didn't before I knew his favorite color,
his favorite restaurant.
So you definitely get to know each other in that deeper sense first.
But I would say that we had our first kiss, and when we finally, finally got to have that talk
at the Wedding Chapel Cabana, the one when you walked on the stairs to the left,
The Wedding Chapel Caban is what it's called.
We finally got together and all night we've been trying to meet up and finally connect
because we were both dating other people.
And we had that kiss that was like 10 minutes straight.
And one to bed that night and we were walking to the beach and I just felt so much joy
and love and happiness in my heart.
And I just felt so like divinely guided to like, I have to talk to Chris.
I have to get to know him more.
And it was like days and days and days.
And producers were like, no, you need a date.
Kenny.
And I was like, no, I have to date, Chris.
Like, I have to get to know him.
And so we had our first kiss.
And the next morning I woke up and I was like, I got out of bed, took a few steps on.
And I was like, huh, would I get engaged at the end of this?
And I was like, what?
Why am I even thinking that?
Like, I don't ever want to get married.
And it was just something in me really shifted.
And from there, I just kind of the moment.
him belts.
Wow.
Did you know she was feeling that way?
I didn't actually.
But I will say for me,
in the fantasy suite
is when you kind of get a little time
to have no camera.
And obviously you want to try to
gauge, you want to kind of see
where the person that you're dating's at.
That's when you knew.
And so, well then I started talking about it.
I started talking about it
because there was an instance
during the fantasy suite date
where I couldn't breathe
because I thought she was breaking up with me
but then it turned out to be that
that wasn't the case
It's because he wasn't listening to me
presently
I was talking about my last relationship
and he's like what you're breaking up with me
He was just so struck by your beauty
I mean you do have beautiful eyes babe
but that wasn't the case
it was just because I'm not gonna lie
I was extremely nervous at the fantasy suite
but then that night I was asking questions
and she was like really starting to give me clarity that maybe she would accept the engagement if it went down.
And at that moment, the next day, that's when I knew, I was like, all right, for sure, I'm going to do this.
And producers didn't even bother me, didn't try to talk to me at all.
They just, I knew what I wanted.
And I wanted to be committed to her.
So that's the way it went down.
I thought that on our first date, or I guess that's when you knew you loved me.
No, you said on our first date when we were dancing on the walk.
and he looked in my eyes as I was dancing with my dice and you said I'm going to marry this
girl I mean yeah that that definitely that that also too that's when I knew that for sure I was
head over heels and madly in love with you like that's I was I looked in your eyes and I was like
that's definitely the girl I want to be with you know I want to say I still needed it I still
need a little clarity yeah leaning into Ashley and Jared we were there when they came down and got
ink and when Jared proposed and that was actually a big
moment for Chris and I's relationship.
I don't think we ever told you guys this.
You did not.
We did it not.
Go on.
So you guys came down and your proposal happened and it, Chris and I ended up being like
polled and having to have this serious conversation.
Is that the night we won the boom boom room?
This is a PG podcast.
That boom boom room.
That's a different story.
But the thing is, R and Gage may encourage you guys go to the boom boom boom?
Yeah, I don't know if that story made complete sense.
Seeing you walk on the beach, Jared, encouraged him to go to the boom boom room.
There was definitely inspiration.
You're welcome. No, well, there was a lot of tension because I said no to the boom boom room about four or five times.
And then you guys came down and I was like, you know what?
Let's go.
Boom, boom.
So I would say that their relationship is like the definition.
Has anyone ever seen the Adjustment Bureau with Matt Damon where it's like, it's amazing?
And like if you think about your path, it's kind of like the adjustment bureau where there was all these different roadblocks, but somehow some way you guys knew that you two were supposed to be together just didn't happen at that time.
And you guys finally became together and now you are.
And it was really inspiring to see and be there for that moment.
You were like the person that stood out to me the most because we were pretty much surrounded by like 75% people we had never met before.
And I don't think I met you and you were like glowing and you were so congratulatory.
And it was so nice to see somebody who genuinely seemed happy, not like, oh, what are they doing?
Like barging in here, like ruffling feathers a lot.
You just seemed like you were happy for us.
I was so happy.
And it was so just, you know, your love story of how you guys have just come together.
It's like what rom-coms are made of, right?
Perfect for the two of them.
Yeah.
Well, I want to ask now, though, because you've met, paradise has happened.
It's happening again.
Your lives are speeding up, right?
We're a year out.
How is wedding planning going for the two of you?
I would say it's going well.
It's going the pace that it needs to be.
We just had like a really nice engagement party to celebrate with our friends and family and people that we wanted there.
And now with the wedding and the planning, it's going.
It's a terrible answer.
It seems like you guys are almost done.
Yeah.
Well, we're keeping all the details private, but there have been moments where I would say it really tests your relationship and it really can bring you closer or further apart.
And it's brought us closer.
And I think the hardest thing for us was the guest list.
Same here.
I don't know if you guys knew that.
Oh, that's an issue.
For anyone who's gotten married in here, first off, bless you.
It's incredible.
but who has been married
okay and was the guest list at the top of the
struggle bus
we have a lot of hands that say
it's not though no everybody's pretty
a lot of people have been married not many people
are seeing as the top of the struggle bus so
okay I think a lot of people
a question that I get when I do my questions on
Instagram is like what have you guys fought over the most
in planning we even fought at all over anything
it's been freakish how much we have agreed on things
I would say the guest list is complicated, not between us, like my person, your person.
It's like truly who, like we have a limit.
Like you guys have a limit too, right?
Because of venue reasons.
You have a limit.
You have a budget.
And so, I mean, like plates of food, they're not cheap.
I mean, like, and people got to eat.
So you got to feed these people.
I mean, how many are you going to want to feed?
And it's really difficult to allocate a certain amount of invitations to, you know,
a certain amount of people, especially if there's people that, you know, are probably going to be heartbroken.
It's the politics because some people think other people should be there, but you're like, but we haven't talked to them in 15 years.
And I also think it sucks because no matter how much you talk about it, if anybody's been married here, you know that in your wedding guest list, there's like people that you're inviting and then people you're like, okay, well, I don't know.
We have to figure everything out before we can.
It's awkward, but there's a B list.
cause it a plan B list it's not a plan B list it's just okay we have to figure out like who's coming
who's not coming and then there's all these hesitations about like well they might not be able to come
but they may be coming but then if you invite your uncle you have to invite your five cousins and
it's like they all get plus ones and there's 15 people gone and it just like adds up so quickly
the plus ones I'm like if you're old you're not in a committee I better have been on the plan
a list I'll tell you that right now you're okay we've got to we've got to keep going here
But before we go, a couple questions for the two of you going towards Ashley and Jared.
Two questions, okay?
First one.
What's your favorite thing about them as a couple?
You take the first one, babe.
I love how playful they are.
I think it keeps you young, being playful, and fills your heart with joy, and it's a fun energy.
That's contagious.
We do ask each other on a daily basis.
Are you a baby?
Like what?
Don't ever say that again, Ashley.
Why do we ask that?
I don't think any of us know.
I don't get it.
But we also ask our dog, we go, are you a Lois?
Are you a Lois?
You have to be there.
Yeah, that's good, that's good, Ashley.
Nice.
Next is, and I want both of you to answer this next question,
if you were to send as a couple who's in love,
who's planning a wedding, who's forging forward in this relationship,
If you were to look at these two and give them the best wishes possible for any couple really,
but especially Ashley and Jared and I want you both to answer this.
I would say make sure you always kiss each other good night.
Definitely something that we always do.
Never go to bed angry.
Even when I fall asleep on the couch and I come in two hours later, I go.
Good night.
Yes, she does.
My advice for you two as a...
Wait, can I say my advice?
Sorry.
Like, I have something nice to say.
Whatever.
Okay.
I would say that, and I'm going to say what my grandpa told me.
He goes, when two people are in love, they're never going to be in love with each other at the same time throughout marriage.
And one person might be a little bit lower than the other.
And it's that person that keeps that balance going.
So always remember to balance each other out when one of you is off.
I love that.
Look at that.
I really like that.
Yeah.
It was a very smart man.
Hey, thank you so much for coming up here.
We appreciate you.
And now we're going to turn it to the audience to play a little game.
Ben is, like, such a good, like, variety show host.
You look like a young...
With or without...
Yeah, with or without the mustache.
All right, we have somebody with a microphone.
Raise your hand if you have the answer to the question.
If not, should we just shout them out?
Where everybody's going to know these answers?
Let's just shout them out.
Okay?
We'll pick them up with a mic later.
First question.
This is all revolving around Bachelor Nation.
Who is pregnant from Bachelor?
Carly.
Carly.
Carly.
Jade.
Is Carly in here?
She took a little break.
Okay.
Carly, thank you for coming.
She's taking a little walk.
We'll forgive her.
Next question.
Which Bachelor friend once told Ashley she would never be with Jared?
Nick is the answer.
Next one.
Who used to be a cruise ship singer?
Carly.
Carly.
What Del is the answer.
Has she changed your name?
Or is it still?
I don't know.
I don't know.
I call her Carly Bass.
It's in my phone like that.
We don't know yet.
Who has driven over one hour just for a sonic milkshake?
Ashley.
That sounds like me, but it's my foodie counterpart, Becca.
Becca Tilly.
We're so proud of you, Becca.
Congratulations, Becca.
Good job.
Who had a 14-year-old age gap on their season of the Bachelorette?
Or Bachelor.
Ari.
And who?
Baby Becca.
Becca.
Okay.
Who else is a Patriots fan along with Jared?
Evan Bass.
Oh, kind of.
Okay.
But Evan also.
I've seen him in a Titans jersey, too.
Okay.
Now, this is a tough one.
Let's do this one together.
Who met on Bachelor in Paradise and is still together today?
Kendall and Joe.
Kendall and Joe, Evan and Carly, Jaden Tanner, these two, Chris and Crystal,
Astrid and Kevin, Raven and Adam.
Oh, my God, they're so many.
I don't even think we had it.
We didn't have Raven Adam on here.
And they just got engaged.
Wait, round of applause for all the Bachelor of Paradise Club.
That's pretty amazing.
It's only been on for, is it, five, six full seasons?
2014.
This is season six.
They're filming right now.
This is season six.
I think it starts filming tomorrow.
That is like, it's wild.
I didn't count there.
But if that's seven real relationships.
We're doing all right.
Okay.
Now, very special guests are coming up to state.
They're going to replace Chris and Crystal.
Thank you so much.
Thank you.
Becca and Tanya, please come up.
The host of the award-winning podcast,
Scrubbing in with Becca and Tanya.
It is.
The award-winning scrubbing in with Tanya and Becca.
Did you guys need marriage advice?
Is that what you want?
I was like, what are we going to offer?
We've got some good questions for the two of you.
Beck and Tanya are up on stage.
But before we get to talking to him,
and I know Ashley's got an important question to ask,
let's take a second and talk about Creighton Barrel.
Hey, Ash, you like taking a bath, right?
Oh, I love best.
I feel like you're a bath guy.
Big bath guy.
Are you?
Big spa guy.
Jared will, like, sometimes book hotel rooms solely
because they have a nice bathtub.
There's nothing better than feeling hugged by water.
Recently, we've rebe.
revamped our bathroom and like really made that whole bath experience a little bit more
luxurious because we registered for some items on our crate and barrel registry that have to do
with our bathroom like they have a bunch of stuff yeah they actually have like shocking products
things that i didn't think that crayon barrel would carry like shampoos lotions and candles
that really makes bath times so much fun and afterward when you get out of the baths
of the shower and you get to wrap yourself in this soft Turkish towel or robes and you get
to put your little wet foot on the softest bath mat you've ever felt. It really just makes your whole
day far more enjoyable. It starts it out or ends it. Like I shower at night usually. Jared
showers more in the morning. It ends my day on a point of relaxation, get a better sleep.
But there's just something nice about having a lovely bathroom. And we've really started to be able to
create that with our
crate and barrel registry and the items that we've gotten so far
from it. Highly suggest
checking out crate and barrel if you're
looking for a registry. You can start your
crate and barrel registry now at creightonbarrel.com
slash wedding dash registry.
Again, if you're an engaged couple out there,
please check out crate and barrel.com
slash wedding dash registry.
Okay, Tanya, so this week has been a very
Jonas heavy week in our lives.
I can't.
It's been like really good.
but Jared is like already having Jonas fatigue
and the album doesn't even come out until Friday
how do you suggest we get through this rift
I'm gonna need Jared to get on board
because literally did you see the documentary
I'm not gonna watch it tomorrow night with my mom
I don't know how you watch that thing
and don't become obsessed with them except mine is Nick
like Nick I'm kind of like not here for anymore but
well Nick he does sometimes have a conceited air about him
Yeah, like, it's all about Joe.
Nick Jonas.
Yeah, let's be clear, because Nick Vial's coming up to stage soon.
Kevin is the LSD that we have for Kevin.
Nick Vial has a sweet soul.
Yeah, sweet man he is.
But, like, I'm just going to really need you to just get on board because it's only
going to get worse because they go on tour this summer.
So there's going to be more Jonas.
And then the memoir comes out.
I'm debating not seeing Ashley until the wedding.
You know, just like, let her have her Jonas summer and then we'll get married.
And the Jonas summer will be over and then we're married.
Well, the real, the real tour doesn't start until, like, August.
And I'm not going into a date until after.
after our wedding.
And the hits just keep on coming.
I literally can't stop talking about the Jonas brothers.
Like, I cannot.
My mom literally today, she's like, wow, you're back in the swing of things, are you?
Wait, you're going to die when I tell you this.
So you know where we were sitting for the premiere?
My seat was actually supposed to be in that, I don't even know how this happened.
I was supposed to be the row with like Sophie and Priyanka.
And I was like, how was I in that row?
They just really like you.
There's no way.
I know how you're in that row because you've been crushing it recently.
We're just talking outside.
You're everywhere.
Your career is skyrocketed.
You're doing a great job.
And that was the first thing on the notes that I want to say is Tanya is absolutely destroying the game.
Destroying.
That's very nice.
Thank you.
Your podcast together is also doing great.
This year in 2000, was it 2019 that you won the award?
18, right?
No, 2018.
Late 18.
Jeez, time flies when you're having fun.
It was within the last year.
It's been in the last year.
Scrubbing in with Beck and Chania.
won an award.
What is the secret to making this same click with two friends?
I can't take you seriously with this mustache.
You're like so sincere and I'm like scared.
No, it's not, it's like, it's like, it's like, calm me.
The mustache that I have right now is calming.
Call me?
Yeah.
Okay.
Makes you feel like a daddy.
Like, call me daddy.
You're not a daddy.
Daddy, I like it.
Oh, Tony.
It's more like daddy.
I don't feel too calm right now
So I don't know if it's working
So I was going to say
I have been surrounded by Jonas Energy
For like a long time now
And how do you get back to this?
Let's go to dinner this week, Tanya
We'll get it all out
Yeah, y'all should do that actually
It's a lot
So just thank God training camp has started
And the Patriots are starting to get back into it
The Bruins are in the Stanley Cup finals
I have distractions
What are you going to say, Becca?
I was just going to say it when you know Tango
I was, I got to witness
I'm always around Tanya's energy
for the Jonas Brothers and I really got to
a front row seat to Ashley
Lauren and Lizzie's
love for the Jonas Brothers and they were all
singing to each other and I've never seen a
look of boredom like I did on Jericho
it wasn't boredom I was having a fine time
not boredom just like
not as interested also
like confusion he's like this is what
gets them all riled up
this is it yeah it was honestly I was having
fun I was standing there I was
smiling sucker came on
I know that song.
I had a good time during that song.
But these girls are freaking out.
So if you're not flipping out with them, then you're obviously bored.
Wait, but I think it's so.
Sounds like Jerry McGuire.
I think it's so cute, though.
And I like love how they have their, that one night show in L.A.
And like you just, you guys went like just girls and Jared like picked you up.
It was like so cute.
And then you got us McDonald's after life.
I drove through McDonald's.
Like, this is what I need in my life.
While blasting Jonas, it was, it was a low point.
One of the most interesting.
things, I think, is the perspective from somebody who is not in a committed relationship
talking to people that are.
Tanya, you know, you've met Ashley in studio a few times.
You know this couple well.
What is your advice for them as a couple?
She's met her a few times in studio.
She's invited to our wedding, too, you know.
Yeah.
Perfect.
The thing that I love about Ashley, and I love you too, Jared, but like Ashley, just like,
I'm used to, don't worry about it.
She literally leaned over and goes, I really like Jared tonight.
Do you know how many times I've gotten in my life?
I freaking love you.
You're great too, Jared, but Ashley.
I'm like, cool, no, it's cool.
I knew Ashley before, and like, you're
like a bleeding heart like me. Do you know what I mean?
And so when you, when this happened
for you, like, I genuinely, like, it's
really, and I mean it from the bottom
of my heart, like, I'm so happy
for you because it's like
it's something that
like, I don't know, we've, we've
like shared that it's like the dream, you know?
So like I'm really, really happy for you.
Oh, well, thank you. I mean, I know we haven't done
in a while, but those little, like, Thursday night hangs that we had a couple times, where I was
like, Becca Tanya, I'm so confused. I have no idea how I'm going to handle the situation.
Yeah, I remember it. I remember it so clearly. Was that before or after, like, Jared had voiced
his feelings? It was after he had voiced it. What were those conversations life amongst you,
you all? Well, I would always tell Ashley, when we talk about Jared, this is before he even
admitted his feelings, and he, like, send her flowers or something. And I was like, what is he doing?
Yeah.
He likes you.
No one sends flowers who doesn't like the other person.
This is not a friendly gesture.
I can co-sign on that.
I do the same thing.
Listen,
what's happening?
I'm a poor excuse of a man.
Like, I don't know.
I've never said anything otherwise.
No, it wasn't that, though.
I just remember thinking I didn't want her to wait for something that might not happen.
But I also just wanted to be like, don't give up because he's sending you flowers for some reason.
Like, there's a reason for that.
And I remember that night that we were, you came up.
And we were watching Grays and you told us about him saying his feelings for you.
And it was like, I remember texting you like throughout the time.
I'd be like, has he done anything today?
Has he said anything?
Did he send you a love letter?
Did he send you a cute text?
I think the thing that's so beautiful is like it takes a lot for somebody to be vulnerable.
Like that's like really how you find love is true vulnerability.
And that's like what you embody that so well.
You know?
And I think you can always put up a, like you can always put up a wall.
And everybody has that, you know what I mean, like that kind of to protect them.
And you've always just been so open.
And I think that's ultimately like what led you to each other.
Yeah, I agree.
I think Ashley is one of the most vulnerable people I've ever met.
And you're just very open with your emotions and feelings.
And I think while we're so similar in so many different ways, that's one area where we're different.
Because I think I'm someone who tries to project an image into the world of like who I'm supposed to be.
And I think I've always struggled.
It's a Superman complex.
It's not a Superman complex.
I think it's just a human complex where a lot of people want to be seen into the world as confident and funny and it has everything put together.
And they're not a mess.
And they, they, you know, they're like, you know, I have things to offer.
And I think it's far better just to be open with your flaws and accept the fact that, you know, you're not perfect and you're going to have to realize that somebody's just going to love you for your imperfections.
Um, because, yeah, I think that was the biggest hurdle that we had to overcome.
Yeah.
Jared was like afraid of showing his imperfections.
And I was like, you think that that's going to change anything?
I has.
That's a big statement.
Let's not just glance over that.
Well, I'm actually interested in hearing your perspective on it.
Um, the only thing that it's changed is like, I thought that Jared would be like so easy going and laid back.
But he's not as laid back as he seems.
Like he, he, I know, it's so weird.
but he like he is like he's moody and I never really knew him I knew him as like moody in the way that he'd like get quiet sometimes like sometimes I wouldn't be able to read him but like not to the extent that I know now and now I just need to be like more conscious about like how to like I'm always like conscious of making him as happy as possible and like everybody asked me like why didn't happen earlier like why didn't it happen earlier and it's like you have someone that I was we were really close friends and
and you just had an idea of who I was as a man.
And it was like, Ashley, I'm not that guy.
And if I let you in, you're going to realize that pretty quickly.
And I think there's been moments in our relationship where you've, you've kind of seen, like,
different sides of me where I can get quiet and I can really just need to, like, I need to, like,
be by myself for a while.
What's your zodiac sign?
I'm a Scorpio to a definition.
And what's your sign?
Pisces.
So, like, if we want to get into the whole astrology of it all, like, we're both pretty much
equally emotional, but I am very
open and expressive about it, and
Scorpio's hide it.
Done your, like, love language test?
We, like, haven't done that test, or
the personality test that everybody wants us to do.
Literally, if you do the love language test,
I swear, and I'm not married,
but it'll make your marriage.
I mean, I know what I am.
It'll make your marriage stronger. I've told all my
married friends about it, and they're like, Tanya,
you're like, marriage whisper. Like, the
love language test literally will bring you
closer, I swear. Is this different than
just knowing what I'm like I'm going to take a quiz online.
It's 15 minutes.
I promise.
Please do it for me.
All right.
So you mean like it could tell me that I may be different than touch and words of affirmation?
Yes.
And so you have to give Jared love the way he received it.
And then.
Can I interject though for a second?
No.
Hold on.
But like I'm interested because do you really need an online test to tell you that?
Or is it more so reading Ashley and then being around her all the time and realizing what
she needs and what she doesn't need?
So you might think that you know
But like you don't
You need the test
It's kind of like the Jonas Brothers
You might think you know
But you don't know
You don't know
Watch the documentary
Take the test
And then the thing is
The biggest mistake that we make
Is we give love
Becca and I have to do this all the time
We really do
We do it as a friendship thing
Yeah
It's literally every relationship in my life
I make every person
That's like in my circle
Take it
Because it affects every relationship
So like
the way that you receive love
is the way that you give love
but that might not be the way
that they receive love
so like me I like quality time
Becca doesn't need the quality time
you don't need it
so she knows though she knows when I need it
that she'll give it to me because she's like
I know you like
it's just bread crumbs here and there
sprinkle them around
but it's true
I swear like just do it
please just do it nothing
it's funny
curiosity.
I think it's fun just to do it.
Like, it's not like it's going to save your marriage if you're, I don't think it's like
the single non-married marriage whisper.
It's either this quiz or it's over.
So, I mean, that ties me into my next question then, the two of you individually, because
I think you both have perspectives I want to hear from.
What is your advice to Jared and Ashley?
Becca, you start.
Don't look at me if you're going to laugh every time, Becca.
It's comforting.
You should look at me and just feel at home.
Becca, though, what is your advice for these two?
I would say, I think that y'all do such a great...
Well, first of all, I love your love for things that you're passionate about.
Like, you're so passionate about the Patriots, and you're so passionate about Jonas Brothers,
and you both, like, really respect and, like, get passionate with that person,
even though you have, like, zero interest in either, you know?
Like, all of a sudden a big Giants fan that Ashley is...
supports Tom Brady and
Giselle.
How can you not support
Tom and Giselle?
That's my question.
But she's really,
like y'all both have really stepped into that role
and y'all both fan girl about things,
which is, I know it's like,
we joke about it,
but it's actually a really,
if there was a love language
for fan girling,
all three of you would have it.
Wait, that is actually
one of the first things that drew me to Jared
was that he like obviously had this,
he's like very pop culture educated,
which was attractive.
to me, but the way that he was
able to, like, put out trivia
and, like,
you get it.
I totally do.
It made me feel like,
the way he talked about movies and stuff,
made me feel like,
this guy gets my culture.
Yeah.
Yeah.
He gets my culture.
Yeah.
He gets me.
I guess my advice would be to, like,
keep being there for each other
in, like, things that you care about,
because I think that's a big part
of what makes y'all so special
and, like, it's really fun to watch
because even though I knew that you did not know
every lyric to every Jonas Brothers song
like you were down there
just like loving watching her be excited
and same when it comes to his sports that you like
and Rob Thomas like I'm now a fan
I like his Instagrams now
yeah you like yeah that's dedication
you like his Instagram so I feel very attached
to him and his wife I weirdly
do too. Tanya what do you think what's your
advice as the wedding whisper
the unmarried
wedding or marriage
Look, I talk to my future husband.
It's fine.
Wait.
It's another 10.
She, like, brings him, and she's bringing him in.
I'm bringing him in.
I, like, write to him and stuff.
Okay.
It's a question mark right now, but...
That makes sense.
But what is your advice to the two of them?
I think that you guys just, like, respect each other so much.
And I think there's something so beautiful about, like, your team to me.
And that's so special, you know, to, like, go through life with somebody that always has your back.
And, like, I just genuinely feel like you guys are like ying and yang, you know, like I saw you guys when you were in Napa and Ashley was like, can you get me like, just like little things like that.
Do you know what I mean?
I just feel like your team, you're a unit and you make each other better and just keep being that way, you know?
Like when somebody's down, like lift the other up and vice versa, because life is peaks and valleys and you guys do such a great job.
Like, I really genuine, like, I've been growing my love for Jared, like, over the past year.
And you really, no, seriously, as I've gotten to know you, I'm like, I'm really, I'm so happy for Ashley that she, like, has you to do life with.
She's basically saying at some point, if y'all want to intern to Thruple, she is here for it.
I just want to find her Jared.
Yeah, like, if you have brothers or cousins, like, you have my numbers.
No brothers. It's too bad.
And Ashley's met my cousins.
you don't want to date.
I'm actually trying to date
Kevin Jonas introduced me to his brother-in-law
and I'm like...
Oh, that's funny.
Been there, not done that.
That was the one, the one...
Wait, tell him out, let's pause there for a second.
What he's so cute.
What the hell did I just hear?
This is good.
This is when things get good.
Let's sit in it.
Yeah, let's talk about it.
Wait, he's so cute.
Yeah, he's really cute now.
He was cute then too, but I was like very like,
I can't date Mike if I'm going to date Joe one day.
back then, so it was not a good situation.
Kevin was like, you gotta meet Danielle's brother.
This is apparently his move.
He introduced me to him too.
The Jonas Brothers better listen to this podcast
because they've gotten the most support
of any podcast ever from this little segment.
Tanya, Becca, we love you.
We appreciate you.
Keep crushing it on scrubbing it in with Becca and Tanya.
And also, Tanya, what are you up to these days
outside of the podcast?
On Earth's Ryan's Secret, baby.
Becca, what are you up to?
I like Instagram stuff.
love Instagram.
Thank you, too.
Appreciate it.
We're going to bring Nick and Kendall up now.
Nick and Kendall come on up.
And while they're making their way up here,
we're going to pause for a second
to talk about crate and barrel.
It's obviously our wedding,
but I do have to say that throughout
all the stress of planning,
I do need some me time.
It's actually more important than ever.
And my morning routine has been enhanced
by some of the gifts
that Jared and I have been getting
from our wedding registry
from Crate and Barrel.
These gifts have been coming in far before our bridal shower and our wedding, and it's been
awesome.
I've gotten the best, like, fluffy, soft, Turkish towels, robes, bath mats that make my
morning shower and my coffee, so much more enjoyable.
Sounds nice, Ash.
You wouldn't even know.
I didn't know this before, but Crate and Barrel actually has a wide assortment of spa products
like shampoos, lotions, and candles.
So I'll lie in our bath.
I'll light some candles.
It's good.
It's just like a little period.
Jared's getting all worked up over there.
I can see him.
He loves a good bath.
Like that man loves a bath.
And like he thinks like he like thinks water is the sexiest thing ever.
So like, you know, decorate a bathroom nicely.
And like Jared's in a good mood.
So if you guys are getting married out there, I highly suggest creating a registry with crate
and barrel because not only can get.
stuff for your kitchen, your family room, your bedroom. You can also get stuff for your bathroom
and the towels are to die for. You can start your Creighton Barrel registry now at
crate and barrel.com slash wedding dash registry. Again, highly suggest you do your registry or
at least one of them with Creighton Barrel, Creightonbarrel.com slash wedding dash registry.
Nick and Kendall, you guys are not dating. Kendall is in a committed relationship with Joe.
Are you dating anybody?
It seems like a weird thing to have to point out.
Like he's trying to like decompress this face.
Uh, no.
You're not.
So this is how we're going to come about this then.
I want you.
We have to wrap this up though because I do have a hot day tonight.
Do you really?
All right.
Hey, we're going to speed this up for Nick.
I mean, I do, but we have time.
No.
The, uh, Nick, I want to start with you then because we're going to dig into Kindle's relationship with Joe
because it's a paradise relationship that we're super pumped about.
You guys are included.
in that bunch, too.
We talked about it.
He said them, right?
Yeah, we were mentioned.
Yeah, they were shouted out.
Nick, um, you've lived with Jared, uh, when Jared first moved to L.A.
Well, I think more accurately, Jared stayed at my place.
Oh, here we go.
For how long?
Longer than he said he was going to.
Oh, that is so.
Okay.
He wanted him to keep staying with, you wanted him to keep staying with you.
That's, I enjoyed it.
company. I'm answering
Ben's questions, honestly.
I'm honestly is Jared stayed at my place
and he stayed longer than I
expected. Oh, Ben, I have a good question.
I have to say this. Okay. So
Jared was living with Nick when
we first started like
flurbing our relationship.
Yeah. And we didn't
tell a lot of people for a while
and Nick like, it kind of went
over his head and I was like, does Nick know
like where you're going all the time?
And I don't know. Did you know?
not at first
no
when did you find out
that Ashley and Jared
were sneaking around
behind your back
well I first noticed
Jared being weird
when we were
going to grab coffee
or something
and I was
commenting on
Kevin and Ashley's
relationship
oh no
on Instagram
at this point
Jared and Ashley
are friends
so they're allowed
it wasn't that I didn't want to tell
Nick
it was just at a point
in our lives
See when she is telling you about Jared's emotional and temperamental?
No, I just want to clarify.
I don't want you to think that I wasn't telling Nick on purpose.
You ask the question.
Do you want me to answer the question?
I do want you to preface.
It wasn't because I didn't want to tell you.
It was more so it was just like such a, I didn't know where it was going.
It was really emotional.
So that's why I kind of kept it close to the chest.
As you should.
It's fine.
I don't have to know everything.
The next question then is, I didn't, he didn't answer.
I mean, I think it's when he, he,
started feeling weird in the car, and he noticed something was up.
No, he has, no, no, no, no, go.
I want to hear the story.
We were giving coffee, and I was commenting on Ashley and Kevin's social media activity.
I don't remember what I said, but I do remember Jared's reaction.
It was out of nowhere, just like, man, I want to talk about it.
Okay.
Like, I don't know why you're so committed.
Instagram content, but fine.
And then a couple of weeks later,
we all went to Ashley's 30th birthday party,
and I kind of noticed they were like holding hands
on the table.
And Jared's living with me at this point.
And so I went to drop off Ashley,
and I looked at Jared, and I just said,
so you're going to stay at Ashley's tonight?
And he's like, yeah.
And I'm like, all right, we'll have fun.
And that was pretty much it.
And I'll never forget, a couple days later,
we were sitting in the kitchen.
And we were talking, you know, football and blah, blah, blah.
And then you just, you, you, you sat in the chair.
I'll never forget.
And you were like, so what's going on with Ashley?
Let me clarify, he did not sleep over that night, but he didn't stay later.
And then it was just, and then you and I was like, all right, here we go.
And then we talked from a couple hours about everything that happened.
And I just, I remember, I didn't know how you were going to react to it.
That was great.
No, but I, but I was always nervous.
It was about goddamn time.
Well, I was always nervous that you were going to react in some way of saying that I was, I was only jealous and that, you know, if she wasn't with Kevin, that you wouldn't have cared and but, and then I just remember the first thing you said after I kind of like just like open up and said anything.
And you were like, you said, I'm really happy for you.
no there's another moment i have to reminisce on
it was a year before jared
came out about his feelings like an entire year
and we were at the i heart jingle ball
and we were there with a whole bunch of bachelor
alum and nick came up to us he goes
i don't know about you too like there's i know there's nothing
going on but like you're probably going to get married one day
yeah made sense
you guys they were way too emotionally attached to each other
not tied up to each other it was bizarre you can have a best friend
with the opposite sex, but they were just like, Christ.
That's why I said I was happy with Jared, because it was, it was like, I didn't really
understand what his deal was.
It's like, I don't, why do you put this much effort into someone you're not going to have sex
with it?
It was always the question, Nick, I'm not, I agree with you.
It was always the confusing thing for me.
It was to watch his friends.
It was like, you're going over there.
You're staying on her couch.
Like, you're emotionally invested in this, like, relationship.
He cared about everything she said.
Yeah, there's nothing.
happening. It doesn't make any sense
to me. Christ, man. Like the haircut?
Hey, Kendall, before
we move over here, because we've got a lot to
talk about, Nick, I have a couple more questions
for you. The first one,
there's an email that we got from one of our
listeners that said there's a rumor going around
that you've made a marriage pack
with one of the Ferguson twins.
Is that true or false? That if she's
single at a certain age, or you're
single to a certain age, you're just going to get married
and do this thing. That's false.
It's false. But I'm down, you know,
I'm not against it either.
I think you're both great.
Also, Nick, you're up to a lot right now.
I want to give you the opportunity to talk about some of your projects going on.
You have a podcast yourself that is doing really well.
Can you tell our listeners about it?
I do.
Thank you for asking number 24 on iTunes right now.
What else?
I have an essential...
And now just dropped off the list.
But I spent a lot of my time with my natural habits, my essential oil company takes a lot of my time.
And it's going really well and we're growing.
And I'll give a vouch here.
Those essential oils are different than any other.
It'll smell the entire room up with pleasantries.
It smells so good with our other essential oil diffuser things.
You walk by and you get a good whiff.
But those that Nick has.
USDA organic certified
They feel like the entire room
And I have them too
They're very very good
Thank you
Thank you guys
I'm really proud of it
It's going really well
And we're growing
I hired an intern
I've got that advice from
Yeah
Yeah
Well for a small sort of company
It's kind of a big deal
Thank you Ben
It's a big deal
It's like eh
We're hiring people
Yeah it feels good
Do you have interns?
Yeah that's we talked about
Our business models
And strategies
Our interns are the best
and I just
shot a new show coming out
I think at the end of the year
called The Coop with Funny or Die
some theatrical work
that I'm doing
and what else
yeah on that
roller skating, painting
and for anybody out there
yeah so before letting it go
there's a few things
that always surprised me about him
I told him this out there
there's some stills and talents of his
that shock me
like he has some shocking talents
one is roller skating
oh my gosh
I saw you roller skate.
I'm an angel on the wood.
It's really wild.
Yeah.
The second is shirtless painting.
I'm sure we've all seen it.
Yeah.
If you haven't go to his Instagram, you can see some beautiful paintings.
And the third is how he answers questions on Instagram.
And here's the talent.
His question answering skills are great.
It's how many you choose to answer that amazes me.
Amongst all the things that you're doing, how do you find the time to go through each one?
Or is there a team?
I'm lonely.
Oh, Nick.
Hey, that's what we love Nick.
He's honest and vulnerable.
Give it up for Nick.
Yeah.
Nick, please stay up here for a second as we talk to Kindle.
I don't want to say two things more about Nick before we move on.
Nick should always bring a first date to the roller rink because it is, it's a good, it's a good talent.
It's an impressive.
I don't want to say it's a turn on, but it would be a turn on to a date, I think.
Really?
You think so.
Oh, yeah.
Hold her hand, spin her around.
Great.
And then secondly, on our new YouTube show, What Now?
Nick always brings the comic relief.
He has quite a skill in the interview room.
That's it.
Go, Nick.
Thanks, now.
What now?
Streaming live on YouTube for what you have watched.
Over here with Kendall,
Kendall, you come showing so much love from another Bachelor in Paradise relationship.
Give it up for Kindle.
and Joe.
Joe could be with us tonight.
Joe's probably off traveling somewhere, right?
He's on tour.
He's on tour right now.
He's on tour.
He's a family feud.
Is he hosting it?
So it's kind of like there's a main host and he's sort of like a co-host slash
celebrity for like one of the teams.
Okay.
So he's playing the game.
You know what's so crazy about your love story, Kendall, is and I want to start here.
We've got to watch you and this is prepping for this podcast.
This is something that.
always amazed me.
You guys kind of came in.
You were hesitant.
There was like love and then there's distance on paradise
and there's love and there's distance.
What was the moment when you looked at Joe
and said, I want this thing to be,
I want to leave this thing with you.
Yeah, it was crazy because I think I allowed fear
to get in the way a lot while we were on paradise
because there's always the thought of we'd be long distance
and I've never done a long distance relationship before,
let alone have a really, really serious relationship before.
So I was thinking with all of this in this crazy world, how can this ever work?
And I think I think the moment I realized it was when we were on the beach as I was breaking up with him.
I think it was the moment where I saw that he wasn't fighting for it.
And I was like, I expected him to fight.
And the fact that he wasn't doing that.
Sounds like Jared.
But the fact that he wasn't doing it.
How the hell did that come from?
No, Kendall and Jared, you're kind of, you were the same.
We're both play hard to get.
Oh, got you got to get.
You're Kendall in this scenario.
Got it, got it.
You have to play hard to get until you play too hard to get, and then you lose the person,
and then you realize I could actually potentially lose something that really means a lot to me.
And I would just see it as something that was really fun, and we'd laugh together,
we'd be best friends, you know, on the show, because we hang out, you hang out so much together.
And then it was in that moment where I was thinking...
oh well I'm not going to be seeing this person every day anymore and I'm not going to be able to like talk to this person every day and um yeah I don't know and it was funny because as soon as we got to the hotels right after we had broken up there's they asked me where do you want your ticket to go and I was like Chicago I was like oh it's stupid it on my phone he doesn't have my number blah blah I tried to sneak him a secret note to you know gave my room number um that note was not delivered um but yeah so I guess I just decided to
start fighting for it after I had already let it go.
Yeah.
The thing I, another part, and I talked about earlier, is I haven't ever been to
Paradise, so I don't know exactly how it works, but I think each of the couples here
could probably answer this, but specifically I want you to, when does that relationship
leaving Paradise actually start to feel real then?
Because we watch you as viewers kind of blossom post-show.
Both of your lives kind of took off and your relationship took off and it was in the public eye,
but at the same time, there was always this sense in my mind that there's a amazing,
amazing relationship forming as well.
How does that happen?
When does that happen?
And when did it start feeling that real for you and Joe?
I think it started to feeling really real after he got dancing with the stars and we were
able to actually pretty much live together for three months because he had a place out in
L.A. and I was living in L.A.
So we got to kind of play house for a bit, I guess you can say.
And I had the foster dog that I was taking care of with a broken hip and then he was going
off to work and dancing every day.
So it kind of felt like a little family.
And seeing that was something that really,
and just how easy it was,
was something that really made me excited about where it can go.
And then so now he's officially living in L.A.
And we're playing house for real.
So it's been fun to see where it's gone.
And, you know, I haven't gotten tired of him yet.
You know, he surprises me every day.
And I think we challenge each other every day.
We learn from each other every day, which is, it's been exciting.
Do you mind telling us as much as you want on where do you see this going now?
Well, I think the thing is I don't think either of us would be together if we didn't see like the long run, you know, down the line, marriage and everything.
But I think this whole entire thing has been such a whirlwind.
There's so much going on that it's really difficult to, it's difficult to just to stop and to let everything else that's happening just kind of fade away.
and to just see each other.
And I think we're taking this year living with each other
to realize, like, we actually have to see each other
in our relationship for what it is
beside all of the craziness.
So I think living together has been something
that's really taken away all of the,
I don't know, all the crazy things that come along
with having an experience like this
and to really see each other
for the real relationship that it can be.
Yeah.
Well, we wish you the best.
Thank you.
To switch gears to you for a second,
and then we need to go back to Ashley
and Jared because I know you both
have advice for them and I can't wait to hear
it. Kind of what's consuming most of your time
these days? I do
have a project that I'm working on
that I'm really excited about. Tell us
about it. I can't say anything yet.
Well then don't tell us about it. Just let us
know we're supposed to promote it for you on Instagram.
Yeah.
But yeah, no, there's definitely a couple
projects I'm really excited about. I'm also
When will we hear about it?
Gosh, probably within the next
week or so. Okay, cool. Awesome.
soon.
I mean, are you sure you don't want to talk about it here?
We probably are going to save this.
I'll secretly talk about it.
You come back to the almost in this podcast before you go to the Viof Ours.
Yeah.
Yeah, no more guests going over there first.
Hey, we've asked this question all night.
Nick, I'm going to start with you.
What is your advice for Ashley and Jared?
What kind of advice do you want?
You want like the platitudes or do you want like I know Jared and Ashley relationship
of advice.
Plotidates.
It's going to make me laugh.
Jared's such a scary cat.
Choose dare, not truth.
I'm a truth guy.
I like truth, too.
Knowing Ashley and Jared, I would, if I were to give Ashley advice to Jared,
it's, Ashley is a very motivated and very driven person who can be sometimes,
get carried away sometimes, but sometimes in a good way.
And I think it's important for Ashley to remember
that Jared has a voice, which I think you guys do a good job of.
But I think in times it's important when she's really
focused on something to just maybe take a step back.
I think also subsequently, I think it's important
from Jared to remember that just saying it's fine
and being a nice guy is sometimes going to catch up to him
and be his fault, because if he's not going to share his voice,
He's not going to be heard.
That would be my advice to you guys.
I told you guys.
He's just really good at this.
Yeah, in about two minutes,
he summed up, like,
our relationship therapy that we had
on another IHR podcast,
wind down.
It's,
Kindle,
what's your advice for...
Jared and Ashley.
Good questions with Nick,
Instagram on Sunday.
NH12.com,
20% off for new customers.
Oh, my gosh.
I'm out.
Mike drop.
I would say my advice is,
um,
to know,
that who you are as people is malleable and not in the sense that you're not who the person
that you're with is not the person that you are married the sense that you I think people tend
to think that the person that they're worth is always going to be the person that they met or the person
that they're with now or that they get married to always be curious about each other and always
take time to get to know who the new person is because I'm I can talk about myself because
I'm not the same person I was yesterday let alone like a year ago and so I just always
have curiosity with each other.
That's really good advice.
It's also something I read in Cosmo.
Oh, they copied me.
The final question for the both of you,
what is your favorite thing about Ashley and Jared?
Oh, God.
I would say that neither of you gave up.
I mean, despite everything that happened
and everything you guys have both been through,
you never gave up.
And I think that says a lot about your relationship
and where it's going to be.
Thank you, Kendall.
Thank you, Kendall.
Nick?
Hmm.
They're annoyingably cute.
They are.
I mean, it's annoying.
Don't get me wrong.
But they are very cute together.
Thank you, Nick.
It's amazing how much you guys are a good match.
Except for that one part I said you guys should work on.
Yeah, yeah.
You're right.
That is our biggest difference.
Nick and Kendall, thank you for coming up.
Thank you for talking.
Wish you the best.
And Kendall will be listening for your big project announcement within the next, let's say two weeks, just so we're not sitting on there.
Yeah, just in case.
Hey, we're going to end the night with a little game.
It's going to be a blast.
Give us a second because first we've got to talk about crate and barrel.
Hey, Ash, you like taking a bath, right?
Oh, I love best.
I feel like you're a bath guy.
Big bath guy.
Are you?
Big spa guy.
Jared will like sometimes book hotel rooms solely because they have a nice bath.
there's nothing better than feeling hugged by water recently we've revamped our bathroom and like
really made that whole bath experience a little bit more luxurious because we registered for some
items on our crate and barrel registry that have to do with our bathroom like they have a bunch of
stuff yeah they actually have like shocking products things that i didn't think that crane and barrel
would carry like shampoos lotions and candles that really makes bath times so much fun
and afterward, when you get out of the bath of the shower
and you get to wrap yourself in this soft Turkish towel or robes
and you get to put your little wet foot on the softest bath mat you've ever felt.
It really just makes your whole day far more enjoyable.
It starts it out or ends it.
Like I shower at night usually.
Jared showers more in the morning.
It ends my day on a point of relaxation, get a better sleep.
but there's just something nice about having a lovely bathroom
and we've really started to be able to create that
with our crate and barrel registry
and the items that we've gotten so far from it.
Highly suggest checking out
crate and barrel if you're looking for a registry.
You can start your crate and barrel registry
now at crate and barrel.com
slash wedding dash registry.
Again, if you're an engaged couple out there,
please check out creightonbarrel.com
slash wedding dash registry.
Okay, so here's how the game's going to work.
We're giving Ashley and Jared a groomed cowboy hat and a bride white hat.
The two of you need to sit back to back.
You cannot see each other, please.
You dropped my cowboy hat.
Oh, no, that was yours.
Please sit back to back.
So they're sitting back to back right now for everybody out there listening.
We're going to ask them a few questions, and they're going to raise which one.
Listen, this is how the game works, Ash.
She's over there saying this says groom.
Well, it does for a reason.
No, no, no.
Ashley, I don't need two cowboy hats.
So I'm going to ask a question, and they're going to raise the hat that they think it relates to the most.
Okay?
So, for example, the two of you can't be looking at each other.
Jared, please look towards the wall.
Sorry.
Lift up the hat of the messiest person in your relationship.
They both said bride.
Yeah, good job, Ashley.
She's not messy.
I do like...
I like how Jared filled that in there.
He's like, yeah, but just in case, look for later.
Baby, you're not messing.
He cleans up throughout the day.
I clean up, like, at the end of the day, figuratively.
When there's nothing else to be cleaned up.
Lauren, do you agree?
When there is nothing else to do.
Who spends more money?
Ooh, there's pause.
Yeah.
Ashley, with the win, Lauren, do you agree?
They don't spend much money.
The only difference is she buys beauty products.
I buy dove.
I've talked about in the podcast before.
I buy dove soap.
I buy Lemaire, she buys D.
Yeah, my dove is $2.99.
Her Lever's a little bit more expensive.
You'd actually be, I mean, I think that is a little shocking to people that Ashley is not a big spender, except on beauty products, which the very first time ever met Ashley, it's still to this day, my first impression of her, and I've gotten to know her so much better since them.
But she rolls in with something she still has this day is just like chest full of makeup.
Like, it's a massive chest with lights, and it looks like it costs $2,000.
It was $250.
Oh, well, it's still expensive.
A lot more expensive than dub soap.
So Ashley, you win with that one.
Who is the better driver?
Jared wins on the driving.
I have driven with Ashley a couple times.
Scary experience.
It's all right.
I mean, Jared, from the moment that I first was in a car that Jared drove,
I was like, wow, this guy drives like my dad.
That's a good sign.
And that was like a turn-on for her.
Yeah, it's kind of weird.
It really was.
My dad is a very safe drive.
My mom's a better driver, though.
I'll say that.
My mom's a better driver.
My dad's almost overly cautious.
Ashley's mom's in the audience tonight looking beautiful, smiling, super big, and we're super
thankful to be here.
So this is a question I think that we are all very proud about over at I heart.
Who is the biggest baby when they get sick?
Oh.
Ashley says Ashley.
Jared says Jared.
I will say that Jared really hasn't been sick around me
He really hasn't been sick around me
I haven't like had like a bad cold or flu or anything like that
Since we've lived together in the past year
But I have thrown up in front of him a couple times
You haven't been too much of a baby
The only reason I said this was because one night I wasn't feeling well
And you made me a peanut butter jelly sandwich
And like gave me liquid IV
That literally took me five minutes
I know I wasn't but that's the only time I really remember
So anyway moving on
Who was the better?
We can't answer that yet.
Do you guys not cook?
Hold on, hold on.
Just give me a second, Ben.
Let me think about this.
Make sure you look to the wall, Jared.
You're cheating.
The better cook.
Ah, shh.
Oh, shit.
Jared says Jared.
Ashley says both.
Oh, okay.
That wasn't so bad.
So Jared doesn't consider, like, making pasta or sandwiches cooking.
Oh, ho, ho, oh, I never said anything about pasta.
She made me a turkey sandwich one time.
It was like, I cooked for.
for you, and I was like, wait a minute.
Making a turkey sandwich, and she's like, I put the toast in the toaster.
I put the, and I was like, that is not cooking.
The right amount of, like, you know, condiments on it or cut it around nice thing.
So we've had this constant discussion of what is cooking and what is not cooking.
And I am still on the side that a turkey sandwich, toast or no toast, is not cooking.
Okay, so for everybody out there listening, please email us at Ben and Ashley atHardMe.com is making a turkey sandwich
cooking or not cooking, audience.
Raise your hand if you think making a turkey sandwich is cooking.
Oh, all right.
You got one hand.
We got one.
Okay, so I've really only cooked.
I only make pasta and, like, is it warming up boiling pasta and then putting sauce on top of it?
Cooking too?
It's more of a cooking.
More cooking.
Well, Jared has only, beyond that, Jared did it once.
And he made me steak and, like, Brussels sprouts and baked potato.
Which, that's real cooking, but he's only done it once.
So I don't know if I can really qualify.
So he wins.
Okay, next question.
When you first met, let's flash back to the very first time you met, not after any love had been sparked.
Who made the first move?
Oh, there is a big pause.
There's a big pause.
And they both say, Jared.
Jared, please explain why you think you made the first move.
Well, because Ashley was more open with her feelings, but I was the person to kiss Ashley first, which is the move.
That's the move.
And he did it really, really well.
He was like, so like, you know, I really just want to wait for the perfect moment to do what I got to do, you know?
And then I was like, yeah, I know.
And then he went right in for it.
It was really cute.
It was something along those lines.
Something along those lines.
That's adorable.
Okay.
Three more questions.
Then we're going to give it to the audience for a few minutes to ask any questions they want.
We'll close up out of here, and we'll call it a great podcast and give our thank yous to some people who have made this thing happen in the night.
Three more questions.
Who said, I love you first?
Well, I don't know.
It's debatable, I guess.
They both say Jared.
True or false.
Jared said, I love you first.
I said, I'm in love with him.
No, you said you, what happened on Bachelor in Paradise is you called Lerner, I'm in Love with him.
No, you said you, what happened on Bachelor in Paradise is you called.
Lauren in the car ride home
and Lauren said well were you in love
with them and you were like no
but as close as you can get
Yeah but in Bachelor in Paradise 3 I did
say like but I love him
Yeah but with the like the first like
I love you was Jared. Yeah
Okay final question
Who does the dishes?
This is not even
Jared with the win
Jared with the win
Thank you Ashley and Jared please turn it to the audience
audience I want to give you
we just got a few minutes
let's say five minutes.
Raise your hand if you have any questions.
We have somebody with a mic walking around.
Somebody's got to have a question in the audience.
Right here.
First question.
What are you,
I know you already lived together,
so that kind of answer is part of it,
but what are you most looking forward to,
like literally the second after you get married?
What's the first thing you're most looking forward to,
both of you?
What do you mean, like on the wedding day or just?
Maybe after the wedding day's over.
I'm really looking forward to the honeymoon
because I want, I think it'll be nice
for Jared and I to actually get out of the country
like to really detach ourselves that much.
We haven't, like when we go on vacation and stuff,
it's not always, it's like sometimes like tied to business
and stuff like that.
I'm like excited for the honeymoon to be truly just romantic
and I've always like dreamed of a honeymoon
being like by definition.
Like you go the day after the wedding and it's just like a super romantic vacation
and that's what I'm really really looking forward to.
I think that we should even, like, put our phones in the safe in the hotel room.
No, I agree.
I think sometimes we get bogged down into, like, what we do is work and so on and so forth.
And then we actually just took a day vacation down in Westlake.
Westlake, yeah, we just took a day and it was so nice and kind of, like, rebooted everything.
And you just, you forget things, especially as a couple, you know, you get into the work day and then, like, life goes by.
and then you kind of like to stop for a minute and have a moment even if it's just like getting a hotel room and you're like oh no this is yeah that's right this is this is love this is romantic and and so I think that was a really nice day for both of us and so that's what I agree I'm looking forward to most and wearing a ring I'm not going to lie I'm so excited for him to wear a wing is there like anything more attractive than a hot guy in a wedding ring you're like wow he's hot and he could commit I don't know yeah I tried one of
on the other day and I was like this suits me this fits my personality I've been waiting it does
hi hi where are you guys planning on raising your family we're gonna be in LA for probably the next
four years as our tentative plan we have so many opportunities out here and our business is really
out here right now but we definitely like ideally plan on raising them on the east coast probably
around the New England area because that's where Jared's from and like truly that's where
his heart lies. It'll be closer to my parents, which are only an hour away flight-wise.
It's literally like you blink like genie and you're there. And yeah, we both, you know, I think
we both consider that home, but I love it here in L.A., almost as much as I love it over there.
But I feel like after four or five years, it'll be time for him to be in his true home.
Yeah, I agree. I think back east is a little bit more my speed. Plus, you know,
friends and family are out there and nobody's getting younger so to close out tonight i need to take
the time to answer these two questions i think um i'd like to take the time to answer these two questions
my best advice for ashley and jared first off thank you for letting me host your wedding shower
this has been so much for and thank you to all of you who came in tonight uh to iHeart studios to
hang out with us.
We appreciate it.
Thank you for listening.
Thank you for showing your support.
Shout out to the girl who came from Kansas City and anybody who took a flight to get here.
Really mind-boggling and amazing.
Thank you so much.
I was that fan girl, you know.
She still is.
Don't kill me.
I'll probably go to a Jonas concert this home.
No, no, no, no, no.
But seriously, like, a big thank you to all you guys because without anybody, everybody here, you know, who's living in L.A.
That's trying to do something with our lives and taking advantage of the opportunities.
Without you guys, none of this happens.
So don't ever forget that.
Don't ever forget how much we appreciate you guys
and are thankful for everything you do for us.
The people here live tonight, thank you.
But also everybody out there listening,
Ashley and I just found out this week.
This is the week that marks our second year
doing the Almost Famous podcast.
And to date, listen to this.
This is crazy.
we've had over 15 million individual downloads that means 15 million listens in the two years
that we've had the almost famous podcast so crazy it's so awesome it's so crazy but hey back to the
question what is my best advice for ashley and jared typically what i'd like to do in this moment is
to just pump you guys up because i think marriage is such an awesome thing and i think it's something
that you're committed to and you're running to full force but i know you guys are already confident
in this choice.
And so what I thought about this tonight,
what I want to tell you is I look at you to,
and as I told you in the last two years,
I've seen this change in you that is admirable,
but also just one that I look at and I'm inspired by.
Like I want to have that change.
I want to have the peace and the confidence that you have.
And I think I'm finding it.
Like I have found it, right?
But I've seen it exist because of how you have handled this situation
and how you guys have walked into this together.
So my advice to you guys is don't lose this.
Like, Jared just said it in relationships, time goes on, and activities go on, and there's
travel and there is distraction.
And all of a sudden, you do get sick in front of each other, maybe more than you want to.
And you lose what exists today.
It just happens.
But my advice to you guys is not to lose this because what you have right here is absolutely
beautiful. It's inspiring
and the world is on your team
and I'm on your team.
So I'm just so pumped
that you guys and I've got a front row seat
to witness something so magical.
Well, it might be like in the sixth
or seventh row but regardless.
I'm going to be inviting in. Yeah, you're there.
I was on the A list. You're on the A list.
You're on the A list. You're at the top of the A list. When it comes to
like our mutual friend list, you know,
whof. Yeah. Yeah, I was on the A list.
That's all it matters.
My favorite thing about Ashley and Jared
is this
this is funny
because I think it was said
the night
when we were standing out there
but you really do
represent this like
TV relationship
like this relationship
that's storybook
like when people
are around you
it just seems different
and my favorite thing
about that
is you've both kind of
leaned into it
and you're both yourselves
which means as a couple
I'm such a fan of you guys
because you've made yourselves
that much better as people
I've known you both before you met
and now I've known you as you've met
and you both have grown as humans
and I think as we look at relationships
and we try to commit to somebody
isn't that what we're looking for
is a partnership that just makes us better
and makes us more of ourselves
than we ever knew we could be
and that's my favorite thing about you too as a couple
is I just am so pumped
there is not many times in my life
I've had friends date people
well until they get married
where I've been so confident
but since the beginning as a friend
I've just been so pumped that this finally happened.
And this day is coming up close, you know.
Thanks, buddy, yeah.
Ben, thank you so much.
This is, like, the most amazing way of celebrating our relationship.
Like, I feel, like, very warm and fuzzy inside.
Well, you should.
This is about you guys.
We love you.
We love them, right?
Yeah, it was incredible.
And it's crazy to think that, like, I know I always kind of reminisce, but, like,
thinking about
like Bachelorette
and you and I
I'll never forget
sitting next to you at Menthol
and you texted me
and you were like man I was super nervous
but like sitting next to you calm me
you just like say the nicest things
and like meeting Nick
in New York when he crashed our season
and then like gone through paradise
with them and living with them
and everything like it's just crazy
that you go through this weird experience
and then you ended up coming out with
you know your closest friends
Tanner and Jade Carly and Evan
you know and there's many more
it's just
it's it's it's wonderful
but also just
mind boggling to think like
yeah this is
this is where it all generated from
this is where it all started
there and to close out this podcast
because we do got to get going
um there's a night
Jared and I always felt
I mean and I think admittedly so
I don't know if it's because of our personalities
they're same or not but we always felt like
the outsiders in the bachelor like we don't belong here
um you mean you're very fantastic looking men
with fantastic personalities you know it's so
funny. It's so funny
like how we're all like
I'll never forget night one I remember
meeting you and both you and I clicked
because it was like what the hell
is going on? No clue. McDill's getting drunk
he's jumping in the pool and
it was like this I don't know what the hell
we're doing here and on and Tanner
was so funny because he was telling me the first time he met
you and Tanner is like such a big fan
of the show and he was like yeah as soon as I saw Ben I was
like yeah there's the next bachelor
yeah he's told me that before I don't get it
But there's a moment when it was a night that Jared ended up going home.
We were on a carriage pulling up to a castle in Ireland and we're sitting next to each other.
And we're like, tonight, like, this is going to end for one of us, right?
We, you know, we expected it next there.
We know.
Thank God it ended up in that night.
And we said, but this is going to be one of the coolest life-changing experiences and who knows what happens next.
And this is what happens next.
And I'm so pumped for you guys.
thank you for doing this.
Thank you for letting me
celebrate you guys.
And also, thank you to Dunkin' Donuts.
Yes.
Not as good as generous.
Not as good as generous coffee.
But their donuts.
But a close second.
But their donuts are heavenly.
Pie holes.
Nothing.
And half baked for providing our dessert bar
that's been outside that you guys have enjoyed.
Also, a big round of applause
for Creighton Barrel once again
for putting this whole thing on.
Make sure if you're getting married,
or if you just want some more stuff
to make your house look better
go to them for the wedding registry
just also go shopping it's fun
yeah it's been pretty awesome being able to do this
with grain barrel they have such incredible stuff
it's super nice it's awesome
there's dessert and gift bags outside for everybody that came
hey with that I've been Ben I've been Ashley
I guess I've been Jared
later everyone who is part of this podcast
Bye.
They're so fun.
Yay.
