Welcome to the second part of the Sean Booth podcast,
where we break down, yes, his journey into fatherhood
and talk about his podcast.
And there's some juicy details along the way
about any reoccurring conversations maybe with Caitlin Bristow
since their breakup.
they keep not wanting to talk about it,
but the two of them still can't get rid of each other
when it comes to headlines five years after their breakup.
Let's see what Sean has to say.
Okay, well, you just said that you ran in to Caitlin once in Nashville,
which is quite unbelievable.
Have you, you have said that you've reached out to her.
You did so in June when you started the podcast,
you said that you reached out to her.
how'd that go yeah that was um i'd gotten to the point where i was just like i'm just going to
reach out to her um and just kind of put a all the term and all the branch out there
whatever it is because for years i've continued to get asked from tabloids all this rightfully so
because she's, you know, a big personality.
She's got her podcast, all these other shows.
And obviously our relationship was a big part of her life.
So she's, you know, constantly mentioned things,
have said things about our relationship,
has said things about me personally,
where I've, you know, getting all the types of TMZs, people,
Us Weekly's all that, be like, do you care to comment?
Do you care to comment?
And I would just, I just want to respond.
I'm just like, I don't want to get into that.
I don't want to give any response to that.
And then I finally, it was when,
And she had made a comment something about that I used her.
She thought I was using her to open the gym, which was the most outrageous thing that I've ever heard, one of them.
But that one, I was just like, okay, this is got to stop.
So I just nicely reached out there and said, hey, just wanted to see if you wanted to talk.
Actually, you know, I'll read the exact message.
I know she's already put this out there because I guess she put it on her show or somebody's show.
I didn't know any of this.
This is all new to me.
Yeah, well, that's, yeah.
So I texted, I said, hey, hope all as well.
Not sure if you still live in Nashville, but let me know if you ever want to get together
and talk.
You knew she still lived in Nashville.
I said, having trash mags and journalists reach out every few months about something
you've said about me isn't really that much fun.
I've moved on my life and I prefer enough to go backwards and talk negatively
about a relationship that ended five years ago.
Thanks so much for understanding, Sean.
She respond?
Yeah, she responded.
responded okay so then what what happened came of it i was it was just like a lot you know nothing came of
it no so but you said you said in it that you were thinking about meeting up yeah it was and then
somebody said that she had put that text message on one of her podcast or something and i'm like
you know that's rough it is tough okay so let's play it out where you do meet up yeah uh because now
you're in this world. He's like, people, did I not tell you that I did not want to talk about this
relationship anymore? But go ahead. Well, I didn't know that they had texted each other. So I am
curious now, because this is just an interesting thing. So now you say you meet up, right? It's going to be
a very raw conversation. There's probably a lot of things that are going to be said. There's probably
going to, you know, hopefully end in a better place. At least in my experience, in my relationship from
the show, time healed, but also I haven't even seen.
Lauren but like seeing her husband is just hanging out with him like kind of like felt like it not that
there was that much animosity but there was now there's closure I'm like I'm good like really was only him
and like her dad that I would like her family that I was worried about because Lauren and I know what
happened like we're both we're very clear on how this ended they maybe didn't know everything or didn't
you know whatever but would you have her on a podcast to do it because obviously there's mutual
benefit in that or would you do it in private? What would be your preference now that you're in the
podcast world? Yeah, see, I wouldn't want to try and monetize or do it for a business purpose. People
keep asking, would you have her on my podcast? I was like, yeah, I would have her on my podcast. I'd go on
her podcast, but I wouldn't want that to be our first like talk together. Okay. I would respect for her.
out of respect for our relationship.
I feel like it would just be best to have a talk one-on-one.
And instead of just, like, throwing us into a room, which would be fun, it would be entertaining.
It would be a lot of emotions.
I wouldn't want that to be the way it goes down.
And I wouldn't know if she would either.
But like you just said, you said, you guys know how it all went down, right?
You know how your breakup went.
Yeah.
I know how my breakup went.
Not everybody else does.
So there's always different sides.
There's going to be her side.
There's going to be my side.
It just so happens that she's more public about it.
She's spoken about it for years where I could challenge a lot of things that she's said for my side.
But what's the point of doing that?
Yeah, I mean, especially today.
You've both moved on, you know.
Exactly.
Yeah, I'm having a kid in a few.
Like, I'm literally having a kid in a few months.
But I think also what you're saying, too, and I get it, it's like,
once you saw Chris, you're kind of like, okay, like, we're good.
And I've seen Jason, and I would say it might have been a little, I'm not going to say
worse because we both had different relationships and different feelings, but it's like, it was
Sean and then Jason like right there, where it was, that was like, okay, I got it.
I understand here where at least for you.
It wasn't something that was so close to your breakup and in that time frame, right?
So I was like, okay, this is a little strange.
It would be weird to see him.
But then I saw him a couple times.
And now I'm just like, whatever, it's good.
It almost feels good.
You say hello?
Yeah, well, so we're at, there's a gym here, the Soho House.
And I was standing next to, this is pretty funny.
I was standing next to, like, the water fountain with, like, a couple of my friends.
And it's, like, very small, small area.
And he was, like, right next to me getting a drink of water.
I didn't know it was him because he had, like, a hood on and, like, a hat that covering his eyes.
And he was just like, we were so close.
He's like, hey, what's up, man?
I'm like, what's up?
He's, like, you're getting a workout in?
I'm like, no, just hanging out.
I got a meeting.
And I was like, cool.
And he left.
But it took me, like, I didn't realize that was.
him for like 15, 20 seconds. I was like, who is that? And then I was like, oh, shit, that's Jason.
He must have been really thirsty to get that close to you. He's working out. Give the guy a break.
You're right. I mean. Yeah. So I've seen him. Yeah. You know, and there was that comparison between
the two of you. There was the, you know, the Sean and Jason afterwards and kind of that next new season.
And yeah, Chris and I didn't really run into that. And at the same time, as you said,
said you've both moved on with your lives.
You've moved on with yours.
Lawrence had two kids with Chris.
It's not like there's like hard feelings.
I'm married and like our lives have gone very different paths and great path.
Yeah.
But for you, it would be a little different because there was that initial comparison or the initial
thoughts on while this happened fast, how did this happen?
And I know they've both spoken publicly about when and how they first met.
But it would be different.
yeah I mean it was it was weird because I remember like watching like because she would have to do her podcast I'd be in the room watching that season watching him and then I remember he sent me a DM being like just want to like let you know I respect you everything you're doing you and Caitlin are great like I remember this like send me this DM and I was like okay and then I'm like yeah I guess he really did like Caitlin in my relationship yeah he didn't like he didn't
respect you yeah yeah so for that and being in the same world obviously it was a little weird and
like i was saying too and i keep sorry i keep saying when i was saying on my podcast and i i went on to all this
i i saw him a couple more times and i just felt like um people so many people were around and in the
area that it was almost making me feel weird about it where you know because like people know the
situation and people might feel weird so if I go up to him we're talking then it's like weird for
everybody in the room and I'm like if I saw him right out here outside my house or anywhere it'd be
completely fine but I felt like I let those emotions and those feelings get the best of me
where I left being like I just wish that I went up to him and was like what's up man it's all
good here like don't get hi my name is enya umanzor and I'm Drew Phillips and we run a podcast

The U.S. Open is here, and on my podcast, Good Game with Sarah Spain, I'm breaking down the players from rising stars to legends chasing history.
The predictions will we see a first time winner and the pressure.
Billy Jean King says pressure is a privilege, you know.
Plus, the stories and events off the court and, of course, the honey deuses, the signature cocktail of the U.S. Open.
The U.S. Open has gotten to be a very fancy, wonderfully experiential sporting event.
I mean, listen, the whole aim is to be accessible and inclusive for all tennis fans, whether you play tennis or not.
Tennis is full of compelling stories of late.
Have you heard about Icon Venus Williams' recent wildcard bids or the young Canadian, Victoria Mboko, making a name for herself?
How about Naomi Osaka getting back to form?

Real briefly, Sean, I just want to ask about this message exchange that you had with Caitlin really quick.
You said that nothing became of it.
You guys didn't chat any further.
Was her response to you, kind?
Was it positive?
It was kind.
Yeah, it was kind.
Okay.
So then you did just get annoyed that she talked about on the podcast and that's why you just didn't want to go forward with anything?
It was just, um, it was honestly just a lot.
And then I kind of was like, this is just a lot right now to deal with.
And I want to check the date on it because I'm, uh,
Yeah, I mean, I was also going through, like, pregnancy and all that as well.
So I kind of just like, yeah, I was, and then I heard she had talked about it or put the message up on a screen.
And I'm like, it wasn't, like, are we sure that she said something about it?
I just wanted to make sure.
I mean, I actually, I don't know for, I'm not positive, but that's what somebody told me.
Okay.
Yeah, I know you already because I saw the message, like, she's talked about it on one of her shows.
so yeah I yeah she responded she was kind I just felt I guess probably a little not overwhelmed
probably I just didn't want to deal with it at the time even though I was the one that reached out
to her that may sound crazy you know because I debated many times of reaching out and just
trying to be civil and I think then I did that and then I got a response back I was like wait a
man, I don't know if I want to go there and go back to that mindset and go back into those
feelings because it is something where, like you said, it was a strong romance.
We had strong feelings and went through so much together.
Like I'm always going to respect her and appreciate her for everything because we did it
together and there's no map or formula and how to handle everything.
So we kind of fought side by side for years and figuring that.
whole situation out and growing as people and traveling the world and doing all these crazy
things. So there's always going to be that connection. So I always make sure that I have respect
for that and respect for that relationship. Yeah. And then I'm sure like it's just going to,
you feel almost annoyed by yourself that it tends to come up so often on podcast. You're like,
oh, man, I didn't want to bring this up. But then like it just is kind of become, it's just like
your life. Yeah, my life. And that's what I went into my podcast.
being like, listen, it's not like a batch of recap.
I can't do it as good as you guys do.
I don't watch the show.
So I'm not going to talk about bachelor stuff or have a ton of bachelor guests on,
but it continues to come up because that's my life and it's a life podcast.
But it's always good to talk about it too.
You know, I know you talk about this again in your podcast in the booth.
And for more in-depth conversations with Sean and Dre.
and where they're at and what they're planning and what they look forward to and what they don't look
forward to and all these things you can listen to in the booth you know this is interesting obviously
because of my wife and now are five years together yeah this stuff with katelyn as we just talked
about which seems to come up in your life all the time it seems to be always hovering around you
it's what people ask about um how does dray handle that when other people are asking you about
somebody in your past as she is the mother of your child yeah she's always been a champ with
all that stuff so she gets it she understands um that's how she met me i was in this world and
yeah she uh handles it perfectly i think that's great you know the benefit i have is my wife's never
seen the show and so that's fantastic yeah she has no clue what she's asking how does you handle it she's awesome
you know, there's, I think there's a level of just like once you get married and once you date for long enough,
there's the trust and the confidence in who you are as a couple. And so that stuff, she knows it's not
my favorite to be asked about. And so she's like, why would I give him a harder time for something
he's not wanting to answer or talk to? She's always had that. And then also, she really is just
completely naive to the whole situation. Like, she has no clue. She has no clue about the season,
about the ending, about the breakups, about who was involved. Like, she has no idea.
And I laugh with Ashley about this.
She watches the show with me every once in a while.
But I bet in my relationship with Jess, we've talked about the Bachelor in-depth.
Like, hey, how'd that affect you?
How'd that make you feel?
Maybe five times.
Like, it's not a thing in my life with her.
Like, it's a very...
And she's just the sweetest, kindest soul, Jess is.
Yeah.
Yeah, she doesn't want to make my life harder, which is great.
So, but with that being said, there has been times where, like,
I remember a night we were watching a commercial and there was like a highlight reel of The Bachelor
and there was a kissing scene with Lauren and I and just saw it. And it did like affect her.
Like there was a tangible like gosh, like I don't I don't love that. And like we talked about it.
And so I guess my follow up there would be like when Dre sees that stuff because she has been
around you. Yeah. Since the time on the show like she's fine with it. Yeah. I mean, Dre,
again we were friends for a while and she was in a relationship for a while so she's always known
the girls that I've dated so it's always like yeah she knows and it's like we were friends for
years and she's probably helped me out talking through some of these relationships that I've had in the
past and so I think that she's handling it better than I probably ever would and I can't imagine
And like when you say Jess is sitting there and she sees a video of you making out with your ex,
that's hard for anybody.
No, we want to see that.
Yeah.
When did things turn romantic with you guys?
Because I know you were both in relationships when you met.
So when it was like, ah, I kind of think you're cute.
This was probably a few years ago.
Yeah, two years ago.
Two or three years ago?
Yeah, we were dating.
And then we started dating other people and then dating again.
just kept kind of coming back to one another.

when you look at your life right now yeah um obviously you know we can listen to your podcast
i get to get a guest to get a clear definition of your relationship with dray and and how long
that's gone on for but when you look at your life right now and you know that she is pregnant with
your child is there anybody else in your life that you're like gosh dang it why couldn't it be
that person or was is when when you found out that dray was having your child you're like this is
great. Yeah, no, it's great. Absolutely. That's a, yeah, come on. Easy question. Good.
Yeah. No, yeah. I wish there's anybody else. I'm just trying to get a feeling for where you guys are at in
your life together. When you first found out that she was pregnant, what was that initial feeling like,
be honest. Was it just pure excitement or was it like, oh, no, and then excitement? Yeah, so she came into my
house and I said, what is that? And she was holding a box and has a pregnancy test. And she goes,
I'm just doing this to give myself some peace of mind. You know, it's been a few days past that
time. It should have came already. And then that moment, I was like, she is pregnant. Like,
I knew it. So she walked upstairs. She went to the bathroom and she's up there for like 10 minutes.
And I'm just sitting at the counter with Walter. And I'm like, she's pregnant.
I know it's going to be a positive.
And she came downstairs.
She ran downstairs and then grabbed the box and then didn't say a word and ran back upstairs.
So I'm like,
you don't get another one?
You went to probably grab the directions to like confirm.
It's two lines.
So I'm like, oh, crap.
And then she comes out and she's, you know, holding a test.
And when I say it's the faintest line, it's the faintest line you'd ever see in your
entire life. And I was like, that's not positive. And she's like, that's a line. I'm like,
no, it's not. And I was like, this is the same combo, Jared. Yeah. I'm like, I'm going to go to
Walmart, grab a few more. I don't think that's accurate. And so I go down the road, I go to Walmart
and I grab every test in the aisle. Like, I'm talking like the digital ones, the ones that have
smiley faces, the one that have plus signs, like everyone, I grab some Reese's peanut butter cups. I see a toy
on the way out that's like a toy car
I grabbed that
grab some burgers
and then I came back
and I just like roll this toy car
across the table
and then she's like
just stop
and then she took the test
and it was like
bink, pink, pink
positive positive
and even then I was still like
let's wait until we actually meet with a doctor
like let's get a real confirmation
and
so we went to a doctor
This whole process has been crazy.
We went to the doctors, and they said that there was nothing in the uterus.
So they were scanning, and they're like, nothing's in the uterus.
And then, like, there's a dot there in a fallopian tube.
So we think it's an ectopic pregnancy.
It's not viable.
Baby can't survive outside of the uterus.
So we're going to have to give you some medicine, and then you'll have to come in next week to get an abortion, basically.
So obviously, sad about that, some emotions.
and then they call back.
The doctor calls back a few hours later.
He's like, hold up, got your results from your blood test.
Your blood is shown like a very strong pregnancy.
Oh, wow.
Maybe it's just so early that you got it that the egg hasn't even travel all the way down yet.
So let's give it 48 more hours.
This is on Friday.
So we waited until Monday, then went to the doctors and had the ultrasound and there it was.
Smack dab in the middle, a little dot.
Oh, wow.
Yeah, it was wild.
It was picking it up when it was fertilized in the, in the fallopian tube.
Oh, she was like only a few weeks.
Yeah, like probably the earliest possible time that you could find out that you were pregnant.
That's what she was.
Yeah, and that's why the line was like so fain.
That's so wild.
Well, okay.
So this, you obviously were excited because you were getting Reese's peanut butter cups.
You were getting burgers.
You had no loss of appetite.
I think you were pretty stoked.
You're 38.
Were you, are you thinking this is a good time?
Are you glad?
37, 37.
So, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so,
well, you know, it may have been a surprise, but I'm ready for it.
Yeah.
Of course, I had, like, all the emotions, and I think the most, yeah, I, I was never freaked out.
I was never, like, panicking.
Like, I was like, okay, this is, I'm a very go-with-the-flow guy for a lot of things.
I'm, like, and I'm very, we'll figure it out.
guy for a lot of things so like you said 37 I've always wanted kids and it was yeah a very good
feeling it was also kind of a relief I'm like hey my sperm works yeah this is actually a thing
it's going to happen because you start thinking about I'm like yeah I'm going to be 50 years
old my kids 13 like that's crazy so yeah we've always been positive have there
moments where we're like confused and all that yeah of course i think a lot of people probably
feel that and it's not the traditional way we're not married like you said um but it's
two thousand twenty three we'll find the way and the most important thing is that the baby is
is going to be super loved by a lot of people and yeah going to be excited couldn't be more excited
let's play a word association game sean all right ben let's see it what's the first word that
comes to mind when I repeat your comment and add one word to it. We're not married yet. Okay.
So you want me to say one word for that. Yeah. You said we're not married and I just added yet.
Okay. What's the first word that comes to your mind? Yeah, I'd say it's accurate. We're not married
yet. Accuracy is the first word. What else he got?
You're looking at a big screen right now?
I got one.
I got one.
I got one.
When the baby comes home, his parents will be happy.
Okay.
And I also said he, I don't know.
Everybody's saying that.
Every single person, the first probably 15 to 20 people we asked, what do you think
that gender is, boy, every single one of my family members, her family members and friends
have all said, boy.
Yeah.
I vibe that.
And you're waiting.
till the day, right?
Yeah, I said on my podcast, Ashley,
I said that you and Jared's gender reveal
was my favorite one.
The fact that we'd like,
I was just throwing up in the picture.
You guys just opened up a letter together
from the doctors and read it together.
Isn't that right?
That was for Jaden Tanner.
Oh, shit.
Yeah, we did it on behalf of Jaden Tanner
because we opened up their envelope
to do their gender reveal.
Okay.
For our gender reveal, no, Jared and I didn't do one because I was just like, I don't want to do anything in public.
Like, I don't need people to see my reaction to this.
Yeah.
Yeah.
So I like that.
Just like, I think gender reveals are getting pretty wild.
Pretty weird.
It's a thing.
Yeah.
I'm like, hey, there's no better gender reveal than being like, there it is.
There is.
That's what we got going on.
Well, Sean, we'll put you off the hot seat here.
I do want to say congratulations to you.
and Dre on this massive announcement, this massive life step. It is great. I think the reason
I'm digging is it's just good to know that you're happy, that you're confident in this,
that she's happy and confident in this, that no matter where your relationship takes you
from this point forward, that child has two people very excited for it to come into this world.
Again, you can listen to Sean's podcast to get a lot more details on their relationship.
And that podcast is called In the Booth.
But for the sake of Almost Famous, we are excited for you.
And congratulations on this massive life step.
Yeah, no, I appreciate that.
It's very kind of words, Ben.
It's not, I don't want anybody to think that it's some random girl that I met at Honky Talk Central.
My private life, very private.
And Drain and I have been very close in a relationship.
And we're expecting the baby in December.
So we're excited.
How's she been? How has it been for her?
Good. She was pretty sick. She had a lot of morning seconds, the first trimester.
Yeah. I heard that a couple trips to the ER. I can feel her on this.
Yeah, a couple of trips. And then, but now she feels great in the second trimester, right?
Like, I guess that's when women feel amazing.
Some do. I did it. Some do.
Yeah, I had a bad, bad situation.
I would come on the podcast and Sean and be like, hey, Ashley, you look beautiful.
And she'd be like, stop at, I do not look beautiful.
I do not feel beautiful.
It's like, do not lie, Ben.
This is the only hour where I try not to throw up in front of you.
There were a couple times where we had to take a break.
Well, Ben, you're next, buddy.
That's right.
I hope so.
It is Ben's time.
I'm very excited.
I'm excited because Ben got a dog.
And after years of me being like, ah, you got to understand what it feels like to have an adult dog.
And then he did.
And then he understands.
now I'm excited for him to understand the feeling of having a child. And I'm very excited for
you too, Sean. I feel like you two are going to be great fathers. Look at us becoming adults.
It's a big deal. Hey, Sean, thanks for coming on with a famous podcast. We appreciate you,
buddy. It's a pleasure, guys. Thanks for having me. Bye. Thank you.
This has been part two of the interview with Sean Booth. It was a great part one. If you
haven't listened to it yet, make sure you go back and listen to that. It's been a great
conversation catching up with Sean, hearing about his journey now into fatherhood, hearing about
the mother of their child and also talking about, well, what has Sean been doing since the
breakup with Caitlin? It's been a great interview, a great episode. In fact, Ashley, you know what
this reminded me of? The first interview we did with Sean? I think it was one of the best
interviews we ever did. Yeah, that was a good one. It's so memorable. So memorable. Well,
hey, until next time, we'll be back breaking down charity season of The Bachelorette. I've been
Ben. I've been Ashley. See you guys.
