I just normally do straight stand-up,
but this is a bit different.
What do you get when a true crime producer
walks into a comedy club?
Answer, a new podcast called Wisecrack,
where a comedian finds himself
at the center of a chilling true crime story.
Does anyone know what show they've come to see?
It's a story.
It's about the scariest night of my life.
this is wisecrack available now listen to wisecrack on the iHeart radio app apple podcasts or wherever you get your podcasts this is the ben and ashley i almost famous podcast with iheart radio hey everyone welcome to the almost famous podcast today we're talking headlines and we're also answering some of your bachelor questions ben we have only baby headlines there's so many
many baby headlines all the time in Bachelor Nation.
Actually, speaking of, how is Jess doing?
She's almost midway through.
She's midway through.
She is midway.
She has four months left.
We just had our 20-week ultrasound.
That's the anatomy scan to kind of check up everything.
As of today, the baby is the size of a large banana.
Pretty good.
It's pretty big.
How did you feel during the ultrasound?
Did you get emotional?
To be quite honest, I never.
ever really did.
Jess does.
She gets really emotional.
I don't.
Mostly because at one point I was like,
oh, she's so cute.
And she's like, that's her stomach.
And I'm like, oh, well, then I'm out of this.
Like, I have no clue what I'm looking at.
I have no idea what I'm looking at.
This is just a bunch of different things happening at once.
You know, I am full speed ahead right now on,
I've done the nursery.
So I've put up, painted the nursery,
put up some Waynes coat in the nursery.
I'm redoing our bathroom, like right after this.
I'm going to start working on the bathroom.
You're nesting.
Yeah, early.
So I don't have to be rushed at the end.
I don't want to be rushed at the end.
And so I get emotional at times when I'm doing that.
Because I'm like, my baby girl is going to sleep in this one day.
But for the most part, I haven't gotten very emotional at all yet.
Just does for sure.
She gets real.
Every day, there's videos and pictures.
And I don't know, it's crazy.
It's so awesome.
It's such a fun season of life.
for us. And Jess is, I don't know if this is like the proper way to say it, but this is how
she said her, her belly's popped. They're like, sure, you can definitely see that. She's pregnant
now. That's, that's the image. Yeah. That's the verbiage. The verbiage. Okay, good. I don't
ever know what's right and wrong and what I can and can't say, but that's happening. You can say she's
popped. Yeah. Yeah. Good. Yeah. So anyways, really exciting times. We do have some baby
headlines to get to today. Bachelor Nation. It just feels like a time for babies, doesn't it,
Ashley? Yeah, it sure does. First headline is this, Bachelor Nation's Kindle Long, who we just
had on the podcast actually, is expecting her first baby. Yeah, so she was in her first trimester
when we had her on, maybe towards the end. And she did not reveal anything nor show any signs
that she was pregnant. But they are due and she is due February 2025. And I think this will probably
align with them coming back to the states because right now they're living in Germany.
And of course, all of Bachelor Nation came out in the comment section of her Instagram.
We have comments from Sarah Heron and Claire.
So everybody is really happy for her.
Of course.
This is a big deal.
Probably why she was teasing that she didn't know how long they would be overseas.
This was probably already in the works.
It's a weird time when you know this big thing about your life and you're not telling anybody
because like you do an interview and you don't know how to answer it because you're so used to probably
talking about it with your partner being like we're going to move back home right because you know
exactly exactly Sarah Heron shares sweet newborn photos of her twin girls the quote is they were so small
I know I feel for her every day I'm so interested in her insta stories because we're basically at
the same part of parenting right now we both have kids we are her
girls in Hayden I think are like two weeks apart so it's just like we're going through a lot of the same
stuff but she's doing it with two and I don't know how she's doing it but I love to see how she's
adjusting she seems to be doing so well and yeah they were born at 32 weeks and they were in the
NICU for a month and so now she's just she showed pictures of what they were like then and how
they are right now they they're thriving we're very happy.
for her. How old is Hayden now? Ten weeks. Ten weeks. Goodness. Time flies. Time is so flying.
I'm like, oh, 10 weeks. He's still like, oh, a little itty-bitty. I'm like, no, he's two and a half
months before you know and he's going to be three months and then before you know it he's going to be a
year. Yeah, wild. Final headline before we get into some question and answers. Colton Underwood
announces birth of his son. Our world is a million times better with you in it, he says. Yep. The
baby's name is Bishop Colton Brown Underwood.
So they hyphenated Brown Underwood.
Does he have to fill that name out on everything?
Bishop, well, his name is Bishop Colton, Brown Underwood.
But I wonder why they went with Colt.
That's interesting that it would be Colton.
I wonder if Bishop is from his husband's side, you know?
So they, of course, welcomed the baby via surrogate.
Colton was very open about how they went through this surrogate journey, and even before it was, the baby was in the surrogate, the fertility journey they went through because he had to undergo sperm rehab to get his sperm count up in order for them to conceive this baby.
But yeah, we are so happy for them as well.
I can't wait to see more fatherhood from them.
The U.S. Open is here, and on my podcast, Good Game with Sarah Spain,
I'm breaking down the players from rising stars to legends chasing history.
The predictions will we see a first-time winner and the pressure.
Billy Jean King says pressure is a privilege, you know.
Plus, the stories and events off the court, and of course the honey deuses,
the signature cocktail of the U.S. Open.
The U.S. Open has gotten to be a very fancy, wonderfully experiential sporting event.
I mean, listen, the whole aim is to be accessible and inclusive for all tennis fans,
whether you play tennis or not.
Tennis is full of compelling stories of late.
Have you heard about Icon Venus Williams' recent wildcard bids or the young Canadian,
Victoria Mboko, making a name for herself?
How about Naomi Osaka getting back to form?
To hear this and more,

Imagine that you're on an airplane and all of a sudden you hear this.
Attention passengers. The pilot is having an emergency and we need someone, anyone, to land this plane.
Think you could do it? It turns out that nearly 50% of men,
think that they could land the plane
with the help of air traffic control.
And they're saying like, okay, pull this,
pull that, turn this.
It's just, I can do it my eyes close.
I'm Manny.
I'm Noah.
This is Devin.
And on our new show, no such thing.
We get to the bottom of questions like these.
Join us as we talk to the leading expert on overconfidence.
Those who lack expertise
lack the expertise they need
to recognize that they lack expertise.
And then, as we try the whole thing out,
Real. Wait, what?
Oh, that's the run right. I'm looking at this thing.

A foot washed up a shoe with some bones in it.
They had no idea who it was.
Most everything was burned up pretty good from the fire that not a whole lot was salvageable.
These are the coldest of cold cases, but everything is about to change.
Every case that is a cold case that has DNA right now in a backlog will be identified in our lifetime.
A small lab in Texas is cracking the code on DNA.
Using new scientific tools, they're finding clues in evidence so tiny you might just miss it.
He never thought he was going to get caught.
And I just looked at my computer screen.
I was just like, ah, gotcha.

Hola, it's HoneyGerman,
and my podcast, Grasias Come Again, is back.
This season, we're going even deeper
into the world of music and entertainment
with raw and honest conversations
with some of your favorite Latin artists and celebrities.
You didn't have to audition?
No, I didn't audition.
I haven't auditioned.
in like over 25 years.
Oh, wow.
That's a real G-talk right there.
Oh, yeah.
We've got some of the biggest actors, musicians,
content creators, and culture shifters
sharing their real stories of failure and success.
You were destined to be a start.
We talk all about what's viral and trending
with a little bit of chisement,
a lot of laughs,
and those amazing vivas you've come to expect.
And of course, we'll explore deeper topics
dealing with identity, struggles,
and all the issues affecting our Latin community.
You feel like you get a little whitewash
because you have to do the code switching?
I won't say whitewash because at the end of the day, you know, I'm me.
But the whole pretending and code, you know, it takes a toll on you.

We have some questions.
one of which is have you gotten any baby advice from other bachelor parents yeah i mean you've
given me good advice i think um when we were at alon's wedding obviously i was sitting next to nick
and natalie um you were there raven and adam were there we're i mean the conversation
the parents table yeah yeah it's very much about kids so i'm picking up on it you know i don't
think anybody has directly said this is what you need to do and not do i do think there's been good
advice on stuff we should get for the house.
I'm reading a couple books right now on, well, this is one of them.
It's called the birth partner.
What are you learning in the birth partner?
I love this chat.
Let's do it.
What I can do to be a good partner from like this day forward, which the first chapter is
about massages, where it feels good for me to massage and where it doesn't, a lot of foot
massage techniques.
And then so I think that might be why I just gave it.
to me. Um, also it leads into then like, hey, what are the signs that we're getting close? Uh,
what are some ways like stretches and things that we can do together as partners, which will
never do together as partners. But what, what are, what? What are some things that like we can
do stretch wise or like exercise wise that can get just ready, um, for that day or help, you know,
her core stay strong. Jessica works out still every day. Um, now it's,
definitely a workout that is modeled for somebody who is pregnant.
So she's now out there, like, squatting and running.
But she is doing, like, a lot of Pilates and a lot of, like, lunges and that kind of stuff.
Good for her.
Man.
Yeah, she's doing it every day.
She still wakes up at, you know, 6 a.m.
and cranks it out for an hour.
It's wild.
She's strong.
Wow.
And so, and then I lead up to different types of births.
What can I expect in the birthing room?
And that's where I'm kind of at.
I'm at chapter five.
There's, I think, 10 chapters.
So I'm halfway through.
I'm learning a lot.
Definitely preparing myself the best I can.
But no, nobody's like directly been like,
this is what you have to do or not do.
It's mostly me kind of learning or hearing as I go or watching and learning.
What's the product that people are recommending the most?
Not just bachelor people, but overall.
Goodness, you would be the one to ask me that.
I'm going to explain it to you.
and you'll know exactly what I'm talking about, okay?
Okay.
It's a, like, really light, packable stroller.
So it's like a transformer-looking thing
where the car seat and the stroller are kind of attached.
Yes.
Multiple brands do that, but it is the,
I forget the name of the one that's classic for that.
Mine does that, though, too,
and I have an up-a-baby.
both brands are great.
Yeah.
So I don't know what brand it is.
This is not part of,
we do have a registry out there right now.
And so a lot of this stuff
just goes up on the registry
and then it shows up to the house
and then I either find a space for it right now
or put it together.
The other big one is kind of like the pack and play.
I think we have a pack and play somewhere in this house.
I don't really know, Ashley.
Okay, my advice is,
the snoo for sure for the first five months. The unfortunate thing is that they do grow out of that
around five or six months. And last night, it may not be solely because of it, but it definitely
plays a role. We got six straight hours. That's a big deal. It's a big, big deal. Yeah. So the
snoo is like a moving bassinet. And then we moved with Dawson to the cradlewise, which is it
moves as well but for more of a toddler age yeah i feel like jess and i have a very nice home i don't know
how in the world we're going to find space for all this stuff okay well welcome to my life now that is my
i know it's super crazy but i'm it affects me it really affects me to see like so much clutter all
the time so much kid stuff yeah it's it's it's not easy on on me right now i told jess okay yeah i have
issues because I walk through this house right now and I see a stroller in one corner and boxes in
another and clothes here and I'm like, hey, like we got to, we got to figure this out quickly.
See, I'm so glad you said that because I feel like I can't focus on work. I can't focus on lots of
things when my house is just felt feels taken over and there's just no function to it.
So I feel like whenever I get a free moment, I'm always trying to find more function.
in the house.
Yeah.
How to get more function in the house.
I'm in it.
I'm in it right now, Ashley.
Okay.
Final question that was asked to us,
what exactly does a happy couple weekend look like for the bachelor couples?
Well, that would be to you.
It would be to me.
I'm assuming this was asked because it was such a big topic during Jen season.
It was kind of brought up during the live show as, hey, during a happy couple.
They've never referred to it as like a happy couple before.
Maybe with Becca and Ari, that was the other time that it was.
It was brought up because, like, that's where their breakup happened.
I mean, when I was on the show, the happy couple was still supposed to be kept a secret
that it was even something that was done for the couples coming off the show.
Like, it wasn't something you really talked about publicly.
Yeah.
Because they're usually in, like, very busy areas of Los Angeles or Palm Springs.
And so people could find this house and, you know, take some pictures very easily.
You're asked not to leave the happy couple house, but come on.
I don't think there's ever been a couple that has been stuck in a house for a weekend together
and never left. Everybody leaves. You guys left? Yeah, you leave. You walk in the park or you walk
this neighborhood. No, you did not. You and Lauren went without any sort of camouflage. I'm sure
we put on camouflage. Did you guys wear wigs? Yeah, I think we did have wigs back then and like a hat
and sunglasses. Like if anybody's really going to like randomly be walking down the street and be like,
hey, there's Ben, like that would be crazy.
And these are happening usually before even the airing of the show starts.
And so nobody really knows who you are at this point.
But the lead, you know who the lead is.
That's like...
You do, you do.
You're being tall, too.
You were very risky.
Okay, yeah, but you're not supposed to leave and they provide you with games.
And then do they give you food and drinks?
Yeah, they load you up with food and drinks.
So you have a grocery list.
You can create, load you up with food and drinks.
They usually put it in a pretty nice house in a pretty nice area.
There's usually a backyard with a pool so that you can go and chill by the pool,
those kind of things.
And that is your weekend.
Like, a happy couple weekend is that just that?
There's no entertainment.
You know, usually the lead is kind of getting picked up during the day to go to do some
interviews and kind of go around town.
That's usually kind of was the headquarters, I guess.
when you would do all the talk shows, when the season was airing,
and then you go back to the house at night.
They're fun, I guess.
They do also get kind of boring.
I mean, you're stuck in a house for three, three, four, five days
without the ability to leave, especially if you're the one chosen.
You really have no opportunity to leave because nobody's asking you for interviews.
And then the producers will randomly show up and kind of be annoying, honestly, for a bit.
Wait, why?
Why are they annoying?
I think they're doing like relationship checks.
Where are you guys at?
How are you doing?
Just to see your vibe, kind of get a feel for the land.
But they're fun.
And I think they're important for a couple coming off the show because if not, you
would go five months without ever seeing that person in person.
That sounds ridiculous.
I was just going to ask you, like, do you think that they hurt or help?
Because for some reason, I feel like whenever anybody brings them up, they have been with a negative
connotation.
Yeah.
I think they help. I do think they help quite a bit. I think they're important because you're seeing
that person again. I think they help in both ways. One, you figure out if you really want to be with
this person. And another way is that you're like, no, we're not, we're not meant for each other.
This is the beginning of the end. Yeah. And that's the beginning of the end. So that's what a happy
couple is. There's no thrills to it. There's no secrets to it. It's a Airbnb somewhere around
the California, you know, Los Angeles area, Southern California area. And you just hang out for a few
days. That's it. All right. Well, Ben, I'm going to rack my brain for other questions about the
franchise that I wouldn't know, but you would know because you were a lead. You can ask me anything,
Ashley, anytime. Okay, fine. I have one of the top of my head right now. This is my most common question
and I have a canned, not maybe not the most common question, but it's a very common question.
Okay. I have a can answer and that is always like, I wasn't the lead, but I assume, you know,
it's during the first few weeks
do you give the villain
or the crazy person a rose
because you're told to?
It's a good question.
That probably is the most common question, honestly.
Okay.
My season was a little different
because there wasn't a distinct villain.
However, I did have moments
where I did want to send people home
and the show
wasn't for it.
And so this is how I always explain it
going down because this is how I remember it going
down um i would go come into a room and let's just use jojo as an example right because she's
obviously a star from the show um she wasn't going home anytime soon but she'd be so she's an easy
person to use but say it's like week two and i'm like hey i'm going to send jojo home the night
somebody would a producer would be like okay and they would write it down and then like an hour
later they'd come back and be like hey are you sure you want to send jojo home tonight i'd be like um yeah
i think so i don't really know i don't know any of these people that well like
I don't know half their names.
And they would say,
hey,
I think Jojo has a lot of things you would be interested in.
And I think the two of you will actually make a connection,
but it could be a slow burn.
And so I'd recommend you keeping her around a while.
And at that point,
you're so susceptible to the input of the producers
because you don't know much that you're like,
yeah,
okay, cool.
Like,
I'm good with that.
And that was always kind of my mentality.
As long as it didn't affect a relationship
that I was really confident in
or really serious about,
I'd be like,
I trust you.
Like, if you think there's something there,
if you think there's like something in the future for us,
or if you think she's interesting
and she just hasn't been able to show her true colors yet,
then let's do it.
Let's keep her around.
Let's find somebody else.
And I think they do that with the villain.
Because you honestly,
as the lead,
don't know they're the villain
because the show protects you so much from seeing it
for so long,
that I think as long as you're a lead that's a little bit
as long as you're a lead that's able to
I want to say play the game a little bit
and understand that hey the show is being made
and there's stuff happening that you don't know about
and you can just say I trust you to make this
decision if this is what you guys need right now
then you're like yeah we can do this
okay good answer
good answer yeah for sure
all right well send in your
Questions. DM us on Instagram at the almost honest podcast on Instagram. Email, Ben and Ashley at

could be, you know, evergreens like that one. Yeah, it's always a good one. Hey, uh, Ashley, we'll be back
next week with more content, more exciting things. Obviously, the golden bachelorette, uh, is, is going to
be continuing. There's a lot of things happening in that show that I'm intrigued by and that I want to
