When you're distracted, stressed,

the chances of forgetting them in the back seat

This is the Ben and Ashley I, Almost Famous Podcasts with IHartRadio.
Hey guys, welcome to a breaking news episode of the Almost Famous Podcast.
Today, I am joined, of course, by my lovely, beautiful, intelligent co-host, Ben Higgins.
And like the Andy Cohen of the Bachelor franchise, specifically on TikTok.
his name is Zachary Reality.
We're so happy to have him.
Hey, hey, hey.
I'm so happy to be here,
especially like after such a crazy year of Bachelor Nation.
So it's a good time to come on with the end of the year.
So happy New Year, guys, almost.
Happy almost New Year.
Well, so Friday afternoon, Jill and I are here.
We're looking at all the Instagrams of the,
quote, happy couples.
And we're like, why are none of these people hosting pictures of each other?
There are no Instagram hard launches.
And to this to this time, we still don't have some, you know?
Is that true?
Yeah.
So first off, Aaron and Eliza have not to be heard from at all on Instagram.
What about Kat and John Henry?
She posted a story that they were going to move to San Diego together or that's what it said in the credits.
But they posted that they were like still together and then he reposted her story, but nothing else.
stories. And Jill and I thought that was a little weird. Then we were like trying to explain it saying like possibly the show may have like not wanted spoilers to the people who are watching on Hulu. Maybe they gave them a little bit of like a 24 hour hold. But then I'm at a Jonas Brother concert and all of a sudden Ben texts me and he goes, Kylie and Avin, um, they just posted that they, what they broke up or that he cheated. And I was like, well, wait a second. And then you were like, but he puts to
yesterday that they were together and I'm like I was literally on their Instagram like not even 24
hours ago how they posted that they were together in this amount of time in this 24 hour span
you're telling me they went from nothing which was weird to actually posting something to then
posting a breakup announcement how did that all happen so fast like this is where we have to pour
in Zach why don't we actually hasn't actually hasn't breathed yet she's just
I'm just like so weirded out about what possibly happened.
So, Zach, why don't you break it down for us a little bit and then we'll do the speculation.
So she posted a couple photos of him throughout the season just of like what was on the show.
So just kind of like promoting the show, whatever.
So he was already on her grid, but he never posted her to begin with.
The day after the show, we all see what happens.
They leave together as boyfriend and girlfriend because she wanted to get engaged and Avin
did not. And we can get into that, too. But then the day after the show, they post a picture
together, very high quality. They probably hired a photographer. I thought it was a move-in post
because it looked like it was in an apartment that they moved in together on Instagram.
But there's no confirmation of this. Is it speculation? Yeah. Okay. So that's what it assumes.
I mean, the caption was like, we, you know, when something's worth fighting for. Yeah.
So then the next day, or like hours later,
She posts a story.
I don't know if you want to like read it word for word,
but basically saying that there was multiple infidelities
and that things have come to the light.
So then she untags herself and deletes all those posts.
So there was three of him on her page.
And then unfollows him.
She has the story up.
And then the next morning he posts that he confirms.
He did cheat on her.
He's working on himself.
He apologizes.
And then he deletes the posts from his.
his page but he still follows her you know i get all of my information so ashley mentioned that i had
texted her i don't i get all of my information from you they love it so i just want to tell everybody
out there you know as we continue this conversation if you want to stay up to date with reality
television right i mean in general bachelor and bachelor i kind of get focused on while the seasons are
airing but then you also uh you do have a lot of good breaking news and i and you do a great job
at not spreading rumors that are not, you know, verified and validated yet.
I think that's a really hard thing to do because, well, Bachelors Nation does weird stuff
all the time.
Okay.
So two thoughts on what you were saying.
If you would have given me, like, odds on which couple I put money on working after this,
quite honestly, I don't know if any of them.
I don't know if there's only zero of them.
But if you would have told me that Kat and John Henry had the best shot, that would have been
the wildest thing I've ever heard.
At least Avin and Kylie weren't shown on the show,
which typically on Bachelor in Paradise means that they're doing our right.
So let's kind of transition here because we've talked about what's happened.
They've broke up within a day of this announcement going on.
There's infidelities.
Is there anything else out there that we know on what happened here?
Like, how did she find out?
When did she find out?
Did she find out before the show was over?
Maybe the show said, hey, don't say anything about it yet.
No, no.
She said 24 hours.
Yeah, that's why it's a shocking thing.
24 hours.
What I'm assuming is that girls, once she hard launched the Instagram and said, like,
I'll confirm that they were still together, despite what they said at the end of the episode,
because the end of the episode does seem like, one, I think the show ABC is going to be a little bit
positive about where the couples are, especially after you watch that.
final episode. And I also think that like it may even be a little bit outdated, the information
on there. So once they hard launched that they were in fact still together, you think that
certain girls flooded her Instagram box saying that like we saw him cheating on you or like I was
the one he cheated on you with? That's the only possibility that she got a bunch of DMs with
photo proof. I mean, for her to post that so quickly, like she believed it immediately. And how hard is it to
cheat when you're on a show, so you have to be low key anyway. He lives in San Diego and she's in
North Carolina. So it's not like he couldn't get away with it for this long. They're not a lot of
posts together anyway. And I think she was like, all right, I'm your girl. Post me on your
Instagram. And maybe he didn't want to do the post to begin with, kind of like how he didn't want to
get engaged and she did. And that he was exposed within 24 hours. So she had no choice but to break up with
him. It's shocking that throughout the entire season, he never posted one promo shot of the two of them
together. That says a lot in hindsight. It says everything.

What do you get when a true crime producer
walks into a comedy club
I know it sounds like the start of a bad joke
But that really was my reality nine years ago
I just normally do straight stand-up

On stage stood a comedian
with a story that no one expected to hear.

A foot washed up a shoe with some bones in it.
They had no idea who it was.
Most everything was burned up pretty good from the fire that not a whole lot was salvageable.
These are the coldest of cold cases, but everything is about to change.
Every case that is a cold case that has DNA, right?
now in a backlog will be identified in our lifetime.
A small lab in Texas is cracking the code on DNA.

What would you do if one bad decision forced you to choose between a maximum security prison
or the most brutal boot camp designed to be hell on earth?
Unfortunately for Mark Lombardo, this was the choice he faced.
He said, you are a number, a New York state number, and we own you.
Shock incarceration, also known as boot camps, are short-term, highly regimented correctional programs that mimic military basic training.
These programs aim to provide a shock of prison life, emphasizing strict discipline, physical training, hard labor, and rehabilitation programs.
Mark had one chance to complete this program and had no idea of the hell awaiting him the next six months.
The first night was so overwhelming.
and you don't know who's next to you.
And we didn't know what to expect in the morning.
Nobody tells you anything.
Listen to shock incarceration on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
It's an really interesting dynamic because, you know, we can go in here, and I don't know even personally, and I don't know Kylie at all.
In fact, I didn't even know who she was when she came on the season.
At least I knew him because he was, you know, late into.
um the season he was on rachel's rachel's season thank you um but like there's some there's just
bad behavior obviously happening because now he's owned up to it like this isn't an
assumption or or a guess that you know he was cheating no he's owned up to it she was very clear
uh i read her post and i was like that she went at him like she's pissed she's mad she's hurt
bachelor data and i want to hear your two thoughts on this because i i don't understand
in the world very much anymore, especially people's reactions to stuff.
Bachelor Data came out yesterday and said that on her post, she had a lot of comments that
were kind of hating on Kylie, being very mean to Kylie in this process, once Bachelor
Data posted about the infidelies. Why? Like, that's weird. Can you guys explain to me why
Kylie was now the one getting hated on for it? Well, I'll say this on my episode with Jill on Friday.
I said that that episode made me like just kind of like,
oh, Kylie, what the hell?
Like, with the whole engagement.
Like, literally, it seemed like all she cared about was engagement.
But now my whole perspective is, well, sort of changed.
I think she was too obsessed with the thought of it.
But now that I see that she has been cheated on,
I'm just like, thank God you didn't get engaged.
Could you imagine having wasted that moment on a man like this?
Oh, I never understood why people get engaged on the show.
I still can't fathom it after only being together for that many weeks.
Like, I literally do not think I could do it.
So I always get really surprised.
There's just not enough pressure to get engaged on Paradise.
Anymore.
You can so easily leave Paradise, not engaged, and last.
So that's why I'm like, I understand the pressure that comes from the main show.
And you're going to get a lot of pressure from Bachelor in Paradise, too.
But in Paradise, you can finagle it.
Do not.
Okay, can we go back to my question?
We've gone off this.
So I think what Ashley was saying there was that maybe people were hating on Kylie
because the only perspective of Kylie they have is maybe from the show and that she was a little pushy
and maybe, you know, some people found her annoying.
Yeah.
So people are like, I don't like Kylie anyways.
Like, you know, whatever.
Still, that's where I get confused.
But that's where I get confused with people's response to things like this.
And I need Zachary now to tell me, like, have you seen these comments that are mean?
Why are people being mean to Kylie?
Is there a second story here that I'm missing?
See, it feels like a lot of people are now starting to support her.
I think people were mean to her during the season a little bit because it felt like she was
pushy with Avin and like wanted more than she was getting.
And then the whole Blake thing at the end was really strange.
So maybe there were some red flags that she ignored.
So that's why people are possibly coming for her.
But I think you have to like rally for Kylie because she was the one that was cheated on.
Like she posted that picture with him so excited to finally show it off.
Like you guys know how exciting it is after the show to finally post your relationship.
So you can only imagine how like embarrassed and devastated she feels to have to take that down within 24 hours after thinking that for three, five months that she was going to post with this man.
And this was going to be this whole thing.
I would be going scorched earth if I was her.
Like I would be just absolutely throwing darts right now.
And she kind of did.
I mean, her post was as direct of a break.
up posts as I've ever seen like she was like no screw that 24 hours later he's cheated on me
please respect my time and privacy because honestly I'm boiling over um and I get it like I just didn't
understand what people are at not supporting her 100% what Zachary's saying is maybe during the show
they weren't but then like 24 hours later once this came out and the dust settled then everybody's
kind of back on like hey she was cheated on like we got a rally behind her that makes sense to me
let's talk about how absolutely crazy even has to be to cheat on somebody in the midst of having
a televised relationship with them in which it ends with them leaving together
i feel like we have to read his statement before like discussing it because there's a lot to
unpack with it let me get it up as that pulls us up i have a general question for you ashley and
Zach, as he's kind of pulling up a statement.
Have we ever had a scenario in Bachelor Nation like this?
Like a cheating scandal, I mean, a cheating scandal while the season's airing, you know,
and after the season's done, then they're like, yeah, he was cheating on me.
Like, I'm sure we have, but you know, it's interesting as people are saying that the same
thing happened with Brandon and Serene, but they actually got engaged, but apparently he cheated
on her.
And what's interesting is that Brandon and Avin have the same last name and Serene and Kylie have
the same last name too.
Oh!
Stay away from those names.
Yeah.
Brandon Jones, Avin Jones, Kylie Russell, Serene Russell.
That is bananas.
Now, wait.
When he did, when Brandon cheated, though, that was far into their relationship, right?
And, but, I mean, not that that excuses anything.
It's just, like, wild that, like, while they're still front and center and people are still
waiting to find out, like, if they end an engagement or whatnot.
Oh, yeah, there's just out there.
There's no excuse for why he cheated.
He said, there's never an excuse, really.
Yeah.
After careful thought and consideration into writing this,
I want to first and foremost apologize to Kylie, my family,
and my friends for my actions.
I have made major mistakes in the relationship
and hurt someone who was very close to me.
At this time, I am extremely,
I am an extremely low place trying to work on myself.
I am doing my best to find healing and be a better person.
Please have grace and respect for Kylie and her family
through this difficult time.
Thank you.
Again, I don't know even.
I don't know, Kylie, there's not like a character judgment that I can fully make and get behind
right now because I just don't know them. And so I can't say, yeah, we saw this coming or we
didn't. It's a terrible decision. No matter what, and he's owning it, right? It's a terrible
decision. It's not okay. Rally behind. I just feel like the line there, please have grace for
Kylie and her family or friends at this time. Like, I think it should be please have grace for me.
Like, what's Kylie getting grace for? Like maybe support. Like support. But like grace and support
aren't the same thing like grace is like unconditional forgiveness and i don't know she needs forgiveness
right now yeah that's actually very strange is that weird no anyway maybe just a weird word choice
after days of thinking about the post but no matter what let's go back then to he's owning this
this is this is a thing not being denied but at this point all we have are these two
like posts right we don't have any other information coming out there's no other interviews
and there's no pictures being leaked,
anything like that, right, Zach?
No.
So at least he owned it.
I think that's where we can at least give him credit.
Like he literally said,
he confirmed it immediately.
I feel like so many guys would lie about it
or wait days or try and twist the narrative.
So I can at least respect that.
And now it's like nipped in the butt.
Like she found out she was cheated on.
He owns it.
He says he's sorry.
He's going to work on himself.
So there's no more speculation because they both were so straightforward.
Like you were saying about Kylie's post.
Like they're both really straight.
forward in their stories.
We know exactly where they stand.

Well, I guess we're just going to have to wait in here.
Just want to let everybody know we did reach out to Kylie and Avin, of course.
For comment.
We did not hear back.
But, you know, if I were her, I'd be like, yeah, I'm going to do everything.
podcast.
At some point, I bet she does.
I mean, you know, we've had that in the past, too, where relationships have gone sour.
And then, you know, months later, they come on.
And they're like, no, that was a terrible situation for me.
And I want to tell my story because I've held it in and it doesn't do, you know,
et cetera, et cetera.
But this is one of the, um, the wildest, um, scenarios that I've experienced within
bachelor nation only because I'm typically not up to date on the headlines.
I get the headlines when we sit down for the podcast and I read through the notes maybe the night before and I'm like, oh, they're having a baby or they got married or that's happening.
Or I do follow Zachary Reality, which has been a big benefit to not own my job, but also just to me keeping up with my friends.
You do a great job.
I highly recommend following you.
It's like maybe the only, I don't know what you call it, like reality journalist that I follow consistently and that I always watch your stories because it's always interesting to me.
but like I watched it
I texted the thread
we have an almost famous thread
with a few people in it
I was so excited Zachary
I had the deeds before everybody else
so I was like they are moving in together
they're very happy
then the next day I was like
this went sour
Yeah it was a real turn of events
And I almost wasn't gonna post any
I was almost wasn't gonna post about it
When Kylie posted I was gonna like wait a second
So thank God I did
Because I didn't know like
I actually like didn't believe it at first
I was like
wait, what?
It was really shocking how it all happened so quick.
So do you immediately reach out to people and see if you get some inside sources?
No.
I have to hear your story like that?
No.
Not anymore, no.
I just want to report on what is out there, what is the news, and recap the shows.
I'm not into the inside stories.
Well, how about this?
Can I make a deal with you?
From here and out, when we have breaking news, can you just come on and talk with us about it?
Because so often, Ashley and myself are sitting here.
and Ashley, you know, knows a lot more than I do about these things.
It's great to have your insight.
And it's great to have you there to give us any type of kind of like answers to nuance that typically exist in these situations.
So please come back more often now.
I like that personally.
I love a third perspective.
Yeah, I'm so down to come back.
You guys know I've been watching the show for like 15 years, like for a really long time.
Yeah.
A long time.
Yeah.
Thanks, Zach.
I know we'll have more information unfolding about this story very soon.
And stay tuned, guys.
Yeah.
It's unfortunate.
It's a really unfortunate.
We're like, we're like, rabid, like, gossip, like, animals right now.
But it's, like, really sad.
It is very unfortunate.
That's the thing.
But there's still, you know, I think it's, this is the weirdest scenario to close
this up.
This is the weirdest scenario I've been a part of because we know what happened.
Like, we're not guessing.
We're not being like, I wonder if or I wonder.
It's like, no, we know exactly what.
happen. They've both announced
it. Really
terrible. They both owned it within 24
hours. And now we're here to be like
that was a wild change of events.
Now, in any other Bachelor
and Paradise season, I think
people are a lot more upset.
It just feels like this season,
people like, well, this is the one couple we thought could work.
So screw this.
And leaving that
thought, do we think that Avan was really
into her now? Like in hindsight?
I mean, probably not.
Yeah, I was going to mean, not enough.
He never really seemed happy now that I'm thinking about all those scenes of them together.
Yeah, I was thinking that too.
He never smiled.
Yeah.
It didn't seem like he really, but then he was fighting for it at the end.
Avin's kind of confusing.
Yeah, he's been confusing since the beginning.
Yeah, we have to hear Rachel's perspective on this.
I mean, we know what happened now on after the final rose.
It was like, you know, Rachel was, like, shocked and surprised that he showed up.
And then she's like, I got to say yes, right?
Because this is awkward if I don't.
And then it's just a really weird situation.
They walk off stage and they're like, we haven't talked to each other since.
Like, we're bounced.
Like, they, he's just, he has.
He's been a confusing character.
And that's probably why this show didn't choose him as a bachelor.
He was like a very clear choice to be the bachelor.
And the show never really even hinted at it.
Probably because they're like, I don't know if this was ready.
Yeah.
for them to pick Zach over him
But I don't think Avin was like very open on camera
Like I think he's kind of shy
And like people were saying that his journey was like
The same to Bachelorette where he got all the way to the end with Rachel
They were the final two and then he didn't
Propose to her and kind of like the same thing with Kylie
Because that's why she brought it up during their breakup too
It was kind of similar
Yeah
It's like he's not there yet or this is
I don't know it's very weird anyways
Zach Reality go follow him
Great just Zach
Zachary, you do a terrific job, and I want to make sure people know that.
