This is an IHeart podcast.
Why are TSA rules so confusing?
You got a hood of you. I'll take it all!
I'm Manny. I'm Noah.
This is Devin.
And we're best friends and journalists with a new podcast called No Such Thing,
where we get to the bottom of questions like that.
Why are you screaming?
I can't expect what to do.
Now, if the rule was the same, go off on me.
I deserve it.
You know, lock him up.
Listen to No Such Thing on the IHeart Radio app,
Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
No such thing.
This is the Ben and Ashley I, Almost Famous Podcasts with IHartRadio.
Welcome to the Almost Famous Podcast, Wango Tango Edition.
We got a lot of Bachelor Faves and Attendance at this Wango Tango Tango.
We got Claire, Carly, Kendall, Blake H, Blake M, Hannah, Dylan,
Michelle, Nate, Heather, and Becca.
Yeah, they're all here.
It's Bachelor-infested here at Wango Tango.
Paradise what?
Yeah, I know, right?
We love an R-A-Hart Fest, you know?
And thanks to Hyundai for making this happen,
this Wango-Tango-Tango Extraordinary podcast.
Hyundai is all about talking about evolving your journey.
You know, Ben and I have talked numerous times in this podcast
over the past, like, I don't know, six months
about how we've evolved our journeys since being on the show.
I mean, obviously, I met my husband.
We got married.
Well, actually, we were friends for a long, long time.
We got married.
We had a baby.
Like, we moved away.
Lots of evolving.
Same with Ben, you know?
Look at, like, where his life has come because of the show.
And now I am joined with somebody else who has been, has had quite the journey in Bachelor
Nation, quite the journey, almost a decade long, almost, right?
It's Claire Crawley.
That's insane.
It's eight full years, right?
Yep.
So today, guys.
Today is our anniversary.
Today is the anniversary.
Claire, I actually met a whole seven years tomorrow because he came in like a day late.
Yep.
Into paradise.
But today was this.
Which felt like a lifetime, by the way.
Which, oh my gosh.
I can't believe it was 24 hours.
I know.
It was 20, you were only, you came in 24 hours later.
I came on and everybody's like.
Coupled up.
Everybody's taken.
Yes.
We were wasting your time.
And I was like, say less, guys.
Okay.
I'm out.
At least let me bungee jump.
Okay.
Yeah.
It's like everyone's taken, except for Jared.
He's taken in Ashley's mind, but you can definitely ask him out.
Get the wrath, but if I got a good bunj, you jump out of it.
I'm good.
And some friends.
So that was seven years ago today.
And Claire was on, you know, a whole season before that.
So eight years, eight years in this franchise.
Talk about how your journey has evolved.
Like it hasn't been for the positive because, you know, we've seen a lot of what people may say are like,
I don't want to even say they're not failures, but they're relationships that have not
gone the distance for you how do you how do you classify your your journeys i would first of all say
that to be in my world considered a failure would be to not try right and so be left with what ifs
people on this podcast know that i can't stand living a life with what ifs in them i am exactly the
same way so i to be honest even the ones that have not worked out the relationships the chances the
the goes on the shows, everything that has, quote, unquote, not worked out has really been
in my best benefit for my higher self, if that makes sense. And I look at everything, like,
it divinely is meant to be that way. So whether it's for a day, whether it's for just
one season of an, whatever, an episode or whatever, or an entire relationship, even if it didn't
work out to me, I got something from it. I learned something from it. And even my, and I can say
this, my worst relationships, I have got stuff from them to serve me for my greater good. And it has
made me in relationships, the person I am today. There's a lot of things that I work on, but it also
shows me and reflects to me what I do need to work on and where I lack for myself and how I can
come back better for the next person. And it's only setting me up, I believe, for success.
What do you feel like you learned the most of, the most from, from your last relationship,
the ending with Dale?
What have I learned the most?
In like what?
I'll tell you exactly what I learned the most.
I learned truly that, I mean, there's a lot of things I learned.
But the biggest thing would be that I'm trying to figure out how to say this in the right words.
but it's it was for my greater good I somehow I was in such a low spot after the pandemic right before the show started filming that you know how it was with like isolation and being alone I was alone for four months literally you were alone alone yeah and I was like in a house by yourself yeah because you were going to visit your mom or you were able to I wasn't able to glass through glass so it was really really really
hard to be honest and it was hard for everybody but for me it just was this intense sense of like
loneliness and so when i met dale when i went on the show when when i met all the guys it was
this need for connection and i found that i found that and so the biggest thing i learned though
it was it was always like i need a partner i don't want to be alone but throughout that in the depths
and the hardest parts of that relationship,
everything that I went through,
I went through a lot of it alone.
And not, I mean, I have friends, I have my family and stuff,
but it was certainly, it was the self-work that got me
to where I'm at today.
And that was like the biggest lesson for me
is that I can depend on myself.
I can take care of myself in the best way possible.
What was your biggest heartbreak?
Was it, Dale?
I don't think that that's a heartbreak.
Trying and going for what you want
and going after what, like, I'm not a woman who sits back.
I think that's an obvious thing.
Like, I go for what I want, and I think that's an asset in anything.
If I go for that in work, I go for that in life.
I go for that.
If it's fighting for something I believe in, I go for it.
And if it's somebody I, I'm, you know, 40 years old.
So it's like, I'm actually 41, so 40 is easier to say, though.
But if it's something that I want, I go for it.
And at that time, that's what I wanted.
And I went for it.
And I got that.
So that's not a failure to me.
Oh,
absolutely not.
I love that answer.
I love that answer.
So Matt James is also somebody that you weren't exactly,
you weren't in a relationship with him, that's for sure.
True.
He was supposed to be on your season.
He was casted to be on your season.
But before your season even started filming,
they actually just went and announced him to being The Bachelor.
I guess they, you know,
knew him through Tyler, they really wanted him to be The Bachelor.
Mm-hmm.
But you guys have had a lot of drama, but I feel like you've never met in real life.
I've never met him.
Oh, so how and why is there so much drama?
Can you give it a little backstory on this cameo situation?
Because it all started when he was on cameo before filming your season and before he was
announced since The Bachelor.
Yeah, I, to be honest, I've held back a lot with what information I do have and what has
been presented with me, and I will say this, is that having the opportunity, I know if it was
a bonus or a good or bad thing, but I had the opportunity of those four months before going
on the season to see who these guys were and see who was coming on the season.
Which was unique. Most Bachelors don't have that. Like, that's never happened before.
But I got that opportunity. And what also came with that is DMs every single day of
I'm this person's girlfriend or I know this about that.
guy. And there was a lot of stuff that I just, you just blow aside. And you're just kind of like,
I get it, whatever. But there was nobody that I had more messages from than him.
About him? Um, I actually got, yeah, I actually got videos of him talking about me in a negative
way. And nothing directly from him, but from other people. Correct. Nothing directly from him.
But I got a lot, I mean, well over 30 different from the same story from different women.
and different people that were parting with him
and going out with him.
So that initially rubbed me the wrong way.
And the stuff he was saying that I'm not going to repeat
was, it was hurtful.
And it wasn't okay.
And I thought, I don't want him to take up a spot of somebody
that really would want to be there for me.
And if the show knew and he knew
that he just wanted to be the next bachelor, fine, all good.
I would never have a problem with that.
Go get it, you know?
but it's how he was talking about me and things he was saying about me that I was not okay
with a man coming on the season taking up a spot who was doing that do that on somebody else's
time and his whole defense of being on cameo was that he was a former football player and he was
doing it for charity who's also part of you know the quarantine crew with tyler do you believe
that it was all going charity or that was that was his intention getting on cameo i don't
know or care either way you
I mean, I don't care either way.
I feel like if that's the situation, that's the situation,
then you should probably on your cameo say that that's going to charity
and not have your title as The Bachelor and use...
His title was The Bachelor?
Yeah.
At what point?
When I saw it, when he was sent to me.
So it just rubbed me the wrong way, like I said.
So whether he's a good guy, I'm sure he's a great human being.
I'm sure he's a great guy, a great boyfriend.
and I have no idea, but it just was not somebody I wanted on my season.
There was no beef.
I just didn't want, I had a choice of who my options are to date, you know, and that
would not be one of them.
Well, it's especially somebody who calls me their mom.
So we'll leave that right there.
Okay, okay.
We'll leave that there.
And would you guys ever be open to speaking together, like on a public platform since you
guys kind of do end up talking about each other separately on different podcasts?
and TV shows? Honestly, at this point, it's been, I feel like, over two years.
Like I said, there's no drama on my part of it, but I think my name keeps getting attached to it.
And he, I don't know if he, he, like, wrote a book and talked about me and all that kind.
I don't know. I don't know. Is that what gets you views and looks and reads, then by all means, use my name.
But, I don't know. I mean, it's just, to me, it's so far dead that I could, I'm just indifferent to it.
Claire's not unsure whether or not she would sit down on a podcast with Matt,
but maybe one day it'll happen.
Who knows?
Why do we have to, though?
I don't know the guy.
I'm not.
Nobody says we have to be friends.
And it's that's okay.
You know, it's not a negative thing or a bad thing.
And I would be, I'd really be getting the fans mad if I didn't ask you about your dating
life.
You can ask me.
When was the last time you kissed a guy?
That's all I'll say, because that was a question I wanted to say last night when
we had our girls night and I didn't get around
to asking you specifically. Okay,
my question is, why do you want to know that?
Well, because that'll kind of allude to like
when the last time you, like, kind of had a crush
on a guy.
Oh. Or like a date. That's true.
Without you actually having to give a name.
I don't think a kiss equates
Oh, so should I ask you something
more, should I ask me more scandalous?
Probably, but don't ask me.
I'm trying to keep it PG.
But, uh,
My dating life is not lacking.
Oh, okay, good, good.
So it's been recent that, like, you're getting some action.
Okay, great.
All right, sounds good.
She's nod and making, like, some sexy Claire faces.
All right, Claire, thank you for joining us again today on this special Hyundai episode.
We really, really appreciate it.
Thank you for having me.
Next up, I am joined by Hannah and Dylan, one of our, one of my fellow Bachelor in Paradise couples that are still together after three years.
Three years, guys?
Yeah.
Congrats and amazing.
You know, I said, I keep saying it.
People are going to be like, okay, Ashley, we got it.
It's been seven years today since I met Jared.
On the sands, on the sands of Bachelor in Paradise.
Oh, congrats.
That's a big deal.
It's a big deal.
Yeah, when did we start the sixth?
The sixth on my dad's birthday.
Yeah.
So you guys met almost three years ago.
Yeah.
Well, I mean.
Oh, you guys met beforehand.
Oh, I'm scooting the mic closer to Dylan.
No, that's known information.
We met briefly before.
But that was it.
Okay.
We got like a group dinner with a bunch of people.
Hannah and I, Leonardo DiCaprio.
Not, no.
No.
No, no, no, no, no.
Very local spot called catch.
There was some like Bachelor people and stuff like that.
It was Craig.
Yeah, and it was a joke.
Well, okay, now as we talk about L.A. landmarks,
you guys just moved after you bought a house, I feel like within the past two years in the San Diego area.
It had a great patio.
Everybody was talking about how much they love the patio on Instagram.
And then all of a sudden, you guys were like, we moved.
Where'd you move?
why?
So we moved, honestly, like four minutes away from our house now.
It's like four or five minutes.
Yeah, it's a really close drive.
It was just timing, like with the market, honestly.
Like, we weren't looking, but we kind of saw it and we're like, oh, wow, this is
cool.
And at the same time, our realtor was like, hey, by the way, somebody's like kind of interested
in buying in this neighborhood.
They said the neighborhood and they want one story, which is what we had.
And it was just honestly, like the perfect.
I don't even want to say storm
it kind of worked out perfectly
we miss our backyard we loved it
but like our new house
we're just like so happy about it
like it was just like a really really cool timing thing
honestly
we have a movie theater in the new house so
I saw it is flooded
update it as of last week
we don't know really
we're figuring that all this week
but it got flooded so we moved all of the movie seats
and stuff and the floor was like really what
I don't know yeah pretty depressing
but hopefully it'll be fixed this week
okay great
Dylan's on that I was like Dylan you do
that kind of stuff.
Yeah.
And I'll handle like...
The decorating.
Yeah.
And it looks decorated so out.
I'm decorated.
Yeah, exactly.
Decrating.
He's doing logistics and stuff like that.
Do you let him decorate at all?
Because I really don't like Derek touching the...
No, we have interior designers that he was working with.
And they're like...
So I deal with it.
And at first, Dylan was involved a little bit.
And like on the meetings and stuff like that.
And then he was like, Hannah, I, like, really don't want to do this.
Like, I want you to do this.
Like, I don't feel comfortable doing it.
And I was like, I don't feel comfortable doing it.
And I was like,
All right, perfect. Let's go. So I've been taking it over.
I tried to make a conscious effort to not be involved.
Well, just live in a nice place. That's all that matters.
Yeah, no, no, no. It's hard to. I told Hannah, I don't really care what she does.
If it was pain, it could be fine.
Well, now it comes to, you know, setting up something else beautiful. That would be your wedding.
You guys went to Italy recently to pick out a wedding spot. You went to Lake Cuomo. Did you go to Venice?
We're in Venice. We're in Florence.
You're in Monaco, Cannes, Santrapay.
Oh my God, you guys went the whole country tour.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
We went for it.
Okay.
So what are we deciding on?
And when?
I mean, it's so beautiful.
And it's definitely an option to do, like, Lake Como.
But I feel like we need to look at spots in California to, like, validate everything.
Okay.
Just because it's hard to get people to, like, go overseas and stuff, which is totally understandable.
It's not a no, but we're like, we should at least.
see some spots here and at least validate it for like, okay, like we could totally make it work
here or like, I don't know, maybe we'll like honeymoon out there.
Can feel Mediterranean and yes. Totally. Totally. We did the honeymoon in Italy in Greece and it was
the best. You went to Greece? Yeah, both of them. Oh, we've been wanting to go to Greece. Yeah. I'm
trying to get Hannah to plan a surprise Greece trip for me for my birthday in two weeks. And you're Greek.
I am Greek. But have you ever been there? Yes. Okay. But I was younger. So I don't really count it.
Okay. No. All right. Well, wedding planning, like, do we have a date? Do we have like a time period? Do we have a date? I heart exclusive. No, no, we don't have a date. He's like, no, I'm saving that for Instagram.
Yeah, yeah, no, no, we don't. That would be a very bad business move. I mean, it's literally just going to depend on if we find a location. Like, the location thing I think is literally literally going to determine. We're assuming 12 months from when we find the location.
Okay. That's great timeline. So, yeah. Exactly what we did. Yeah. I feel like something like that would be.
What should you guys do? Cape Cod, right?
Something like that?
Newport, Rhode Island.
Yeah, yeah.
Yeah.
So nice.
So nice.
Northeast.
Yeah.
Love that.
Would you ever do it in, you guys are, you know, Michigan?
Where are you from, from Wisconsin?
Orange County.
No, I know, but where do you guys have that lake house?
Oh, Wisconsin.
Yeah, no, we wouldn't do it there.
No, no, no.
Love Wisconsin, but.
I wouldn't be, I mean, I don't know if we would do it there, but I feel like it could be a vibe.
No.
It does rain a bit too.
The rain thing would be a little risky.
Yeah, yeah.
Yeah. Wedding, venue, TBD, theme, it's been decided. It's carnival themed.
Oh, really can. Is that going along with that? Yeah, she will. We'll see. We'll see. We'll see. It's fun.
Dress, I don't know. I have no clue. Did you have like a moment where you were like, this is the dress. Or were you like, I don't know if I'm had that.
My dress was, um, I just, I did. And I was like, it's too much. It was too expensive. And then I said yes to another dress, which ended up being my rehearsal. I mean, my, um,
my reception dress.
Yeah.
Because I went back and I got the dress that I thought was too expensive.
Yeah.
Noted.
Noted.
Gotcha.
Gotcha.
So yes.
So yes.
I don't know if I'll have, I don't know if I'll have that wow moment.
I don't really know.
They altered it to my body too.
So like we needed a sweetheart when it wasn't actually a sweetheart.
So you made it what you wanted.
And we took off the sleeves.
Like yeah, you made it, you made it how you wanted.
I can't tell if I'll be one of those people.
I don't know.
It's the best time.
It's the best time.
It's the most fun.
I'm going to go for it.
We'll see.
I don't know.
Well, I hope we see it all on Instagram.
Obviously, not the dress, but like all the dress trying on.
You absolutely well.
Because you are a Sherry Hill model.
And I mean, I love Sherry Hill dresses.
That would be awesome.
What a number of.
We'll see.
It'll all be on Bachelor in Paradise, filmed live.
Everyone can come.
Are they having you guys come back and make a little cameo?
No, they are not.
No, they are not. No, unfortunately.
I don't know.
I actually didn't tell you.
I'll tell you later.
I'll tell you later.
No, no, we're not going to.
But maybe.
you know what's funny is that
we're doing a trip
to, I say
I sound like such a
Pareto Viorta
and
we're actually doing it
like June 16th and that's
probably when they're filming but it's funny we didn't plan it
it was just for his birthday so it's just funny timing
And they'll be like oh we don't have to play for your flights
Yeah come down
We'll see. We'll see. We'll see
Dellen has something to say before I let him go
Definitely not going. Definitely not going. Definitely not going
Buntamita, we're going to have our own vacation.
He wants his birthday to be like chill.
Okay.
Which is understandable.
Very, very good.
Drama free.
Drama free B-day.
You guys are going to have kids with gray hair.
Potentially.
And I have...
I thought you said gray hair.
Great hair.
Oh, thanks.
And I also just want to say that it's really cool that like I can confidently
say that we're going to have like another Bachelor in Paradise Mary couple.
Oh, easily.
You know what I mean?
Yeah, yeah.
It's happening.
Well, maybe.
It's happening.
All right.
Yeah, it'll be fun.
Thank you so much.
Thank you.
Thank you.
The U.S. Open is here.
And on my podcast, Good Game with Sarah Spain, I'm breaking down the players from rising stars to legends chasing history.
The predictions will we see a first time winner and the pressure.
Billy Jean King says pressure is a privilege, you know.
Plus, the stories and events off the court and, of course, the honey deuses, the signature cocktail of the U.S. Open.
The U.S. Open has gotten to be a very very.
fancy, wonderfully experiential sporting event.
I mean, listen, the whole aim is to be accessible and inclusive for all tennis fans,
whether you play tennis or not.
Tennis is full of compelling stories of late.
Have you heard about Icon Venus Williams' recent wild card bids?
Or the young Canadian, Victoria Mboko, making a name for herself?
How about Naomi Osaka getting back to form?

Next up we have Heather Martin.
Heather Martin, as you guys may remember,
was on Colton's season
and then made a brief appearance
on Matt James' season.
Heather, hey.
Hey.
Okay. So you're on our podcast yesterday. So we caught up a little bit then. You guys check out our Girls Night episode. So much fun. We talk motherhood, dating. All the kisses. And Heather's like, please don't ask me about kisses again. And don't worry. I am not going to do that. But what I am going to ask you is how is your bestie Hannah Brown? Because I feel like you are probably the closest bachelor nation member to Hannah.
Hannah's been really good.
Hannah's like in a relationship, like serious relationship.
Yeah.
Probably leading towards marriage is what I'm thinking.
Yeah.
And she's thinking, I think.
Yeah, no, Hannah isn't really good.
I think she's like very settled.
She's in Santa Monica.
She's just happy.
She's really, really happy, which makes me happy.
That's good.
What do you guys usually do when you have your girls' nights?
So Hannah, both of us are just like, we could sit on the couch.
We're probably.
That's what I always imagine Hannah Brown.
hangouts to be like. Totally. Like my kind of girl hang out. We could like all day. We like wake up,
watch a movie, eat. Yeah. This is what Becca Tilly and I used to do. Yeah. We like talk,
watch another movie. Yeah. And then eat again. And then hang out. Talk. Movie and then eat again.
And then we're just like so happy, you know. Amazing. It's great. We just like hang out. It's great.
What's your day to day life like? Are you still in San Diego? I'm in San Diego. North County.
Sandy San Diego. Yeah. We're just like chilling. Nothing crazy. It's like I feel like I never
have anything like crazy need to report but except for when I ask you about boys. You don't want
tell me about boys. I know. Boys are hard. You told me about like your celebrity stalking.
I have a lot of celebrity stocking. I'm down on celebrity stalking but not boys.
Dating is hard. I like I wish I never had a date ever again. I hate it. Well, okay. So when was your
last date um she's like so long ago i don't want to talk about no no this year okay yeah yeah
and it was like not that good no i did someone for a bit of time okay it just is very a lot
it's just a lot oh why uh so many reason why why why actually's asking so many questions
This is my job
You have great teeth
Thank you
That's so nice
Okay now I answer the question
There's just like so many details
So I'm like I just like want to be in like a normal
Like was he famous?
No
It's just like a lot
But what was a lot?
I talked to Jared about this and I was like
I can't tell you Jared
Oh my gosh
After the podcast because I went on his
podcast. And I was like, because this guy, like, really doesn't like being talked about publicly.
It's just like the situation, like, doesn't like, I can't like, I can't talk about it on.
Like, it's like there's like, I feel like she's for like three hours out of time right now.
She's like, I, um, there's like three hours of conversation.
I don't know. It's complicated. It's complicated. He's like a vampire. So I don't like,
talk about it. Yeah, he's in the CIA. He's killed some people. And yeah, he's like, I can't talk
about it.
Okay. No, I'm not dating anyone right now. But.
Yeah.
Well, it's just like it sucks because like, you know, it's a Bachelor podcast or Bachelor
Nation members and it's just like everybody wants to know about relationships.
It's just like, show me, like Ashley, tell me how to date.
I don't know.
Like, I'm bad.
I don't know either because like, it's, you do know.
I mean, you're married and have a child, you know.
But like the thing is, Jared and I really like are dating was like being friends.
And then all of a sudden, once we became people who were dating, we were like married.
I feel like, actually, honestly, like, you're like, actually, honestly, like, you're,
You're like thinking that that's the way you'd like it to be.
You're my inspiration.
I'm not kidding.
Like I've told my sisters.
I'm like, Ashley's like the anomaly where it's like you just like you like you like you like someone and it's just like it's like it's like not normal.
It's definitely not normal.
But I'm like that could be me.
It was like way it was way too hard but also like way too easy.
I know.
When we ended up dating, it was so easy.
And then I didn't even have to like try to get them down on one year.
It was just like, we've been together three months.
And now you're proposing.
It just worked out.
Yeah.
But like you're the anomaly to the rule.
Like it's like, you're the exception to the rule.
You're the exception to the rule.
1000% in, he's just not that into you.
I am 1,000% the intersection rule.
So I don't want any girls out there being like, like that's what's going to happen to me.
Like no, I am the chick flick.
Like I don't know how it happened.
But I got the chick flick.
It's inspiring.
Thank you.
But it makes me feel like, okay, they're so.
Thank you.
It's like I want people to believe in chick flicks and all that.
But I also want them to have a sense of realism.
But like you're like,
It's not really realistic.
I know.
But like you didn't want to be.
So like it happened the way you want it.
So I do believe in manifesting at the same time.
There's like all a whole bunch of contradictory advice here.
But I think at the, I think really like thinking positive thoughts, thinking everything
eventually is going to work out and fall into place the way you want it to.
Yes.
It's really the key to making things happen the way you want.
That's how it's like a little, you know, you got to of course have like effort.
I'm not talking about, I'm talking about relationships here.
I'm not so much talking about like your.
career because of course of your career totally have to aspire you know imagine dream big but
also be making all the actual but you do that with your relationship too well yeah yeah it's both
that's just who you are you're very sweet thank you I appreciate all the compliments it's really
really nice okay well Heather thank you for all your sweetness you are always just that is what
you are your sweetness I hope that we see you again you know why aren't you first sand
in paradise you should be first sand it's for me
You'll think it's for you.
Were you asked?
No, but it's just not for me.
Like, it's just not a thing that I will do.
Okay.
Yeah.
All right.
It's not.
I don't think it's for me either, but it obviously.
It worked out.
It didn't work out there, but it worked out later.
But it worked out.
Okay.
Heather.
Thank you, thank you.
Thank you.
Thank you.
Thank you.
We're back.
And we are joined by Kendall Long and her new boyfriend, Mitch, which we're all just, like, so very
thrilled that she has, like, this new love in her life.
And you guys are so cute together
And you're so tall
He is a tall man
Or is she just short
He's a tall
No
She's average height for a woman
5 5
Yeah you're perfect height
Now listen
You're 6 4 what or something like that
You guys are so cute
Yesterday on the podcast
On our Girls Night podcast
We talked all about
How Kendall
Felt when she first saw you
And like she was really turned on
By your nerdyness
So I just know your first impression of Kendall
Oh yeah
This is interesting.
I'm curious.
Gorgeous, obviously.
Yeah.
So shallow.
That's true.
Yeah.
I mean, of course, beauty.
And then, you know, it was a relatively laid back environment so we could actually talk.
Which, you know, when you're going out on a Saturday night, that's not, you know, always what you get when you're in a club and it's crazy loud.
You can't really interact like that.
Well, we were in a place where we could talk and we were going through her book actually and like asking.
each other questions.
Oh, that's perfect.
Exactly.
So it was just a perfect mingling experience,
and I could tell pretty much immediately, like, you know, she's smart.
And, you know, lots of great thoughts behind her, behind her eyes, beautiful eyes.
There's a brain behind the eyes.
There's a brain.
She's not just pretty?
Wow.
No, we just connected on, like, a lot of similar topics, which is really cool.
I think, I don't even know what we were talking about that whole night,
but a lot of it was, I think, like, I just noticed immediately that you were somebody
that challenged me in just like things that you researched or things that you were curious
about. Like your curiosity was something that really stood out to me. So I liked that about you.
Okay. So how did you ask her out on your first date?
Let's see. I probably, we hung out that night. We're dancing a lot. Lots of fun.
Lots of dancing. We actually changed. Oh, we switched outfits on the dance floor.
You like exchanged outfits too? I had an ugly sweater on. He had an ugly sweater on. It was near
Christmas. He had this ugly sweater with like two reindeer humping or something. I don't know.
It was rude often. I remember saying like, oh, I saw his sweater. I didn't really process
what was on it. And I was like, oh, I like your sweater. And he's like, my grandma made it. And I was
like, it's too reindeer humping. And then I was wearing like this white cardigan. And so on the
dance floor, we switched outfits. It was too hot. Yeah. And I was cold. So it worked out perfectly.
And then we exchanged numbers. Yeah. Yeah. And I, I'm a dork. So I just immediately like, all right,
we're hanging out next. What are we doing? Where are we going?
You didn't play any games. No, not at all.
I'd like wait to the next day. You texted her that night?
Probably. He actually hung out until like 4 a.m.
As soon as I get the phone number, it's like, here's my name.
Text me later.
You text me first.
He was actually very forward. We were on the dance floor and he's just like, what would you say?
You were like, said something. And I was like, you're like, because I'm interested in you.
And I was like, I like how forward he is. So that was nice.
It's the creepy or forward?
I like how forward you were.
You know, it's really horrible to say.
But if you're attracted to the person, you like the forwardness.
I love the forwardness.
Yeah.
Then it's difficult.
That's true.
I was glad he was forward because I was very intrigued after our Europa conversation about the moon off of Jupiter that had aliens on it.
So what's the nerdiest date you guys have been on?
Because I know that there's like an appreciation for nerd life here.
Well, I feel like every time we hang out, I mean, we've barely watched any TV together.
We barely, like, when we are together, we're just talking about anything and everything that comes into our mind.
Recently, we went on a road trip to Napa, and Mitch had, like, podcast lined up for us to listen to and to discuss on our way to Napa.
He's like, okay, so I have this podcast.
I forgot what it was about.
It was a six-hour drive.
The podcast was only an hour and a half, and we didn't finish it.
We didn't finish the podcast.
So we like, pause it and we're like, let's discuss this.
And so it's just so fun.
You guys are each other's brain candy.
Yeah, basically.
As well as eye candy.
Oh, you.
He's my arm candy, for sure.
Arm candy, eye candy.
Lots of candy involved.
Oh, my gosh.
Yay, so happy.
So do you know anything about Kendall's, like, history on the Bachelor franchise?
Just from what I've heard, obviously, since we've been dating.
But I didn't really follow much of things beforehand.
Did you Google the crap?
out of her when you found out?
No, I stayed away from that because I don't know if it's old-fashioned or just weird,
but I just wanted to get to know her for how she was and how we actually interacted
because you never really know what's out there, right?
Yeah, no, I stayed away from the Googles.
Oh, good.
Okay, so I know we have to get rap, but I do need to ask you because I asked Kendall this
question yesterday.
Uh-oh.
What kind of future steps do you guys see each other taking?
All of the big ones
Yay
What a way to wrap up this podcast
I am thrilled for you guys
Thank you so much for coming on
It's eventually an outsider to this Bachelor world
It's a fun one
I've been enjoying it honestly
Oh great thank you
We really enjoyed your hard launch
Oh yeah
Hard launch I didn't even know that was the thing before
They're like you hard launched
I was like yes
