This is an I-Heart podcast.
Guaranteed Human.
Lisa, tell them about our new show.
We have a new podcast.
It's called Don't Lie to Me.
I'm Lexi Youanu.
We're two best friends,
22 years apart, but so close at heart.
And I'm Lisa Di Giulio, the old one,
which means we have wildly different references,
occasionally different opinions,
and at this point in my 50s, I've lived it all.
Now in my 30s, being the founder of new shoes,
good taste is my business.

In February of 2024, celebrated illustrator and children's book author Patra Mathers and her husband Michael mailed letters to dozens of friends and family members to let them know they had died by suicide.
Dear honies, this is goodbye.
By the time you get this letter, both Petra and I will be dead.
Next stop, Wonderland.
Why did they do it?
And what did it do to the people they left behind?

Hey, it's Alec Baldwin. This season on my podcast, here's the thing. I talk to actor Stephen Root.
I'm a people watcher. You see that guy going down to the ring, though. Yeah, I can use that.
And Open Igloo co-founder, Alia Mohammed.
I love staying on top of what is going on in our city, what is on renter's minds,
and taking all of that knowledge to build a platform that hopefully is going to make New York City better.

Is there an epidemic against literature?
More specifically, black literature.
I'm Jack Quist-Pice Thomas, and on this season of the Black Lit podcast, we're outside asking
why.
They don't want a whole bunch of little Ella Bacters, Malcolm Waxes and Martin Luther King running around.
And when you look at a lot of different cultures, they're like, we need to know where you came from.
And considering this is Black Reading Month, the only real question.
is what are you reading next listen to black lit from the black effect podcast network on our iHeart

We're here to break another episode of the Ultimate Girls Trip.
This episode started out.
Like I was like, oh, I'm rewatching the last week's episode.
Yes, I actually went back and checked.
Me too.
Like, multiple times I checked because I was like,
we are talking about the Lady Gaga outfit again.
I thought I was rewatching it and it just kept clicking the wrong one.
And I just had forgotten.
Forgotten.
Yeah, exactly.
So.
And it might be why, Lauren, I will say this is my favorite episode so far
because I think it was easy for me to track.
Yes, it was all in one central location.
With the same people that we saw last week.
Yes.
And mainly with the ROG crew,
who we already know,
it wasn't any outsiders, really.
Yeah, there was one outsider that came in from New York.
She was early on.
She really loves her husband,
which, I mean, is great.
Yes.
Why?
She's hilarious.
Alex.
Alex, Alex, thank you.
Alex, she's iconic.
She's so cringy to watch
But you could tell she was a little bit uncomfortable
Giving off a little bit of Vicky vibes
But other than that the drama was within the group
Okay, let me get personal
I always like to start these episodes
With asking you some questions that make us help
Or help us understand you a little better
You are married with child
Hunter is your husband
Let's play a little game
Would you chew Hunter's gum after he has chewed it?
No.
Would you be, I'm asking these because we see with Alex,
her and her husband just do some things like they're obsessed with each other.
I think it's great in a marriage.
It can get a lot, you know, explore that when you're in the privacy of your own home.
We don't need an essay see in public all the time.
It looked like in one of the scenes they were eating dinner.
And I'll give Jess a kiss when I'm eating dinner.
Like, but I'm not making out with her with food in my mouth.
Ew, yeah.
Or with food in her mouth.
Like, that's just, I don't know, I feel like it's not needed.
And it looked like that's kind of what they were doing.
Yeah.
They're all over each other all the time.
I think it's cute, but they're kind of like, you know,
there's two marriages or two, like, groups of families,
one where you put the kids first and one where you put each other first.
And they're obviously, like, they put each other first.
Mm-hmm.
And a lot of that season was kind of the first, like, OG New York season,
was people judging Alex's parenting skills and stuff
and Kelly even like judging Alex's parenting stuff
and now going back and watching it
because I'm rewatching OG New York.
It's so funny because I feel like they wouldn't allow that
like judging people's parenting and how they are
and how they treat their kids on the current housewives.
But yeah, their whole family is very bizarre.
So they're saying they're the judgment was,
hey, you give so much attention to your husband that the kids are getting left behind.
Yeah, and they kind of just let the kids run amok.
Just like if they want to express themselves a certain way, they're going to express themselves.
If they want to tell you you're cooking shit, if you're at a friend's house, they're going to say you're cooking your shit.
Like they're just like, well, that's how they want to express themselves, you know, so.
Interesting.
So it's like very like hands off parenting.
Correct.
Very laissez-faire.
Yeah.
It's kind of popular nowadays, isn't it?
I don't like it.
Yeah.
I mean, it feels like, hey, kids are kids for a reason.
Like we got to kind of like at least help them out.
Yes, yeah.
I always thought I'd be a way cooler parent than I am.
Like, I mean, I know Rocky's young, but like I'm not going to be chill about a lot of stuff.
Yeah, Jess just told me the other day.
Because Jess, like, shockingly is the more like outspoken parent when it comes to what can and can
not be done. Yes. And I am a lot more like, hey, Winnie, you can sit on my lap and watch Elmo while I work and
just like, no, she can't. And I'm like, yeah, you're right. She shouldn't be doing that. However,
it is nice to have her cuddle with me. I know. It's nice, but the habits are formed.
I know. Slippery slope. Yeah, my wife, she's a good parent. She's great. She's great. Well, she knows
the more rigid she is, the easier her life is actually going to be. So, yeah, yeah, she's good at it. I'm, I, I love
it. I'm just kind of more, hey, let's have fun here. And I need to get out of that. I'm getting better,
Lauren, I'm getting better. All right, let's dive into this episode. As we said, not a lot of new
guests. We've already talked about Alex. It is the same group of people that we saw last week. It is
the Halloween party. It is cold in New York City, which makes me assume that this is a party happening
around Halloween, which would make sense, but not always these parties make sense to me.
me. It looked miserable, honestly, like them walking inside with the snow and then
Portia being late and they show her being late, not only because she took forever getting
ready and trying to find a safe in her room for the second episode in a row, but she was
in traffic. And honestly, she can't help it. She can't help that. So if she could just get
a word out to explain while she was late, maybe other people would understand, aka Luann.
My push back on that a little bit, Lauren.
I mean, I love Portia.
She's probably top two in my favorite cast members.
Honestly, I get what she was saying where she's like,
we've just been on the go so much that I can't like get around quick enough.
I would be the same way.
There's no like issue with her being late.
However, she was late no matter if there was traffic or not.
She didn't leave her hotel until an hour after she was supposed to be at the party.
So she was going to be late.
Traffic was just like an easy excuse.
It was convenient for her to be stuck in traffic
and take a video of it with the ambulance in front of her.
Yeah, that's true.
She would have been an hour late, but not two hours late.
That's exactly right.
So she was going to be late.
And I just don't love the double standard
because if she's going to be late
and she was upset with Lisa for being late to the bus,
then all of us have to be on time here.
If we're going to get upset with somebody being late, we all just have to be on time.
We cannot say some things are more valuable than others, especially with Louaam, who I know,
let's talk about Lou Anne for a second.
I know Lou Anne comes off as this confident, outspoken, center of attention person.
I think she needs the support, she wants to respect, and she needs to be loved by the group.
And I think this was her big moment to almost prove it.
Like I think internally, if you sat down with Luanne and spoke with her, she would feel like an outsider quite often.
And she creates a narrative that she always is.
So this party was kind of reassuring, vindicating her storyline of, hey, I don't have the respect that I desire.
Yeah, yeah.
I mean, everyone made fun of her party.
they're continuing that narrative of the party sucked.
I would argue it was pretty fun.
I mean, they had the mentalist, which was crazy.
Yes.
How do they do that?
That was an amazing thing to see.
Well, obviously, that was a mentalist.
And then Oz, the mentalist is kind of the one that's really famous right now.
He's kind of everywhere.
Yeah.
I have zero idea how they do it.
And I've been in the same room with these people.
I absolutely am a.
amazed at what they can do because I've seen things like this happen and they've been done to me
where they have me guess a name of somebody and I come up with this like elementary school
teacher and they pull it out of nowhere. I don't know how it's done. I don't know how the
levitating is done. I feel like this needed more of a conversation. Like you just can't
levitate somebody and then be like, oh, I was levitating. It's like, no, I need to know how. Something
there was off. Like something's off. I love the girl who says,
she's, yeah, she said it's the devil. She's from housewives of Dubai. I was going to say,
I want to watch her all the time. She, everything she said to me was set on camera was not only funny,
but truthful, and it's authentic. You could tell she's just like, this is crazy. I flew from the
by here. I don't like this. She also, like, do me, do me. Yeah, outspoken to Luam.
And how often Luanne was talking.
And so the party, I think, could have been great, Lauren.
But I do think Luann probably talk longer than it even showed on television.
They had the counter.
And it was almost at a 40-minute speech or something.
Could you imagine being at a wedding and someone's doing their speech and being over 15 minutes?
The bride just starts going off.
Yeah, like Chanel from Housewives of Dubai, she was like, you're talking too much.
You're talking too much.
Honestly, Luan needs a friend like that.
You can still be the center of attention without being egregious.
Luan's a big enough personality that she can be the center of tension really without saying much.
I mean, it's just she's, you know, she's outgoing.
She loves to converse.
She doesn't need to get on stage.
Do you think this comes from a place, Lauren, you obviously started this whole season out by saying you love Luan?
I would say it's an insecurity.
She does it based on a fact that she wants to be a center of attention because she doesn't feel like she actually ever is.
But you would explain her desire to be on stage for 40 minutes and to justify it by saying it was my party.
I can do what I want?
I'm hosting it.
In what way?
How would you explain it to me?
I think that she is extremely unselfaware.
And I don't think, I'm honestly like thinking, I don't think it has anything to do with like the need to be liked or anything.
I think she just loves attention in any way it comes.
And we even see it at the end of the show when she's on the phone,
Derinda explaining how the party went.
She's like doing dramatic exits while she's on FaceTime.
She just wants it to be dramatic to make her life like interesting.
I don't think it's even much deeper than that.
She's just like my life is a cabaret and it's dramatic and it's all because of me.
I don't even know if there's any deeper thing there.
It's an interesting way to walk.
through life. And I do think the housewives
cultivates this culture of
I need to be on the camera.
I need to be out in front. It's probably
why some fade
away and others stay
prominent. And the thing with
this behavior is Luana's always going
to be at the center of a storyline.
I mean, we can see her
what some would say was obnoxious.
And so then you have that whole
storyline of, is Louane
obnoxious or not?
I mean, I think I, the only time I find her to be entertaining 99% of the time and then obnoxious when people are actually trying to speak with her and you can tell no words are getting past what she's going to say next.
Like she's already onto the next thing.
How can I make this more dramatic?
And it's, it's annoying when that's happening.
Like, like at the end when Dorenda is like trying to make her feel better, but she's not even taking the time to listen to Dorenda or when Vicki's trying to explain to her like, you're making you feel this way.
She's, oh, I apologize.
I apologize.
You feel that way.
It's like you're not even listening.
You're just trying to get out of the trouble so you can go into your next cabaret.
Do you find Louie in obnoxious?
I find her, she was getting to me this episode just because it, I mean, I don't even,
she just was like annihilated.
Like you can tell that she was so drunk or like something else that it wasn't going to be fun
for anyone around her, you know?
When you get to that point of drunk where you're like, I don't even, you're not making any sense.
Like, this isn't even funny anymore.
So that's kind of what I thought.
The thing to me that is impressive watching the Housewives so far is you think when you turn, I mean, I'm guessing Louang's what, like 55, 60?
Something around there.
Let's find out.
Yeah.
You start to not fade off, but you start to become more of a present witness.
Your role seems to change from being the center.
of attention to being someone who, you know, watches, shares wisdom, shares experience,
you're sought after for the, you know, for the idea that you've been there before so many.
The housewives continue to be out in the front and to let, like, letting their stuff hang out.
I mean, they look good.
Don't give me wrong.
I love it.
Yeah, as a woman.
Yeah, they let it hang out.
I mean, there, Louin has no problem.
At 61 years old, we just, at 61 years old.
61 years old, she's still got it.
She's hooking up with multiple people.
She's looking good.
She's having fun.
She's drinking.
She's not going to be like, oh, remember the days when we used to go out.
Oh, you know, she still likes it.
I mean, like, I'm not a person that's going to want to go out my heels in the snow when I'm 61, probably.
But, like, you know, the fact that you can still do it and not feel like a bystander or awkward or something.
self-conscious about being out at 61.
That's amazing.
It is.
It's impressive to watch.
Yeah.
Vicky's like,
I don't like this.
Yeah,
I was going to say,
I hear that at 61.
I'm like,
ah,
that feels like something
I don't have the energy for.
However,
it's an option.
It's an option.
It's there.
They're showing that the gate is open
if we want to walk through it.
And I just might be the one
that says,
hey,
I'm good.
Yeah.
I'm okay,
not doing that at 61.
But this party
only
becomes, you know, a source of drama because of Luann, I think.
I mean, I think no matter if you agree with her or not, the focus is on her by her talking.
And then there's this drama around where does she stand during photos.
The group calls her out and says, you always want to stand in the middle.
I actually think Luanne shares the receipts that that isn't exactly the true story.
That was great. Yes. I was like, thank you for having those receipts.
maybe people were like, oh, speaking up first, like, oh, Portia should be in the center.
Everyone, she and Luann gladly would have taken the center if someone didn't speak up, but she wasn't always there.
And she 100% was about to squat down in front of the girls before they called her out.
She was about to sorority squat in front of the group of girls and they didn't give her a chance.
And then the whole thing blew up.
Yeah, I just don't know if they like her very much, Lauren.
I know.
I don't.
Who's her friend in the group?
Well, now it's Lisa because Lisa will take any friend she can get.
Right?
There's no one left.
There's no one left.
Kyle obviously will listen to anyone too because she's diplomatic.
But Portia, Giselle, Vicky, Donzo.
They just, they're over it.
Yeah.
Which, you know, makes it interesting when Luann does the one thing.
I don't know if you've ever done this.
I just did it a few months ago with a group of friends.
It's very scary.
You ask them, hey, how do you see?
see me. Like what?
Like what? Yeah. Like what do you
like about me? And then what when
you know, maybe we leave
a hangout? Are you like, hey,
that rub me the wrong way or something that you don't
appreciate about me? I don't like
doing it. It was, it's very scary. And
especially when you have friends who are honest, you're like, oh
goodness. I know. I would never
want to be honest. Yeah. But you
have to be. That's why it's being asked.
Luann asks
the van. And this is a, this is, this is
for me one of the best moments of the road trip so far, am I being obnoxious and you hear the silence of
okay, what do we say? And then it was yes. And it felt like she, like you said, is so
unselfaware that she had no idea that the response was going to be so negative towards her. But
in my life, you're an adult. If you ask the question, you have to be willing to receive the honest
answer. She asked the question. And it is the time where the women can say, you ask me. And so my
response to you is yes, Luann, we've found you obnoxious. You are driving us crazy. You should
understand that. Yes, exactly. And you should just say, you know, pipe down a little bit, listen to
other people's stories, let other people be the slightly the center of attention. And the fact that
she was like semi-shocked by the answer is wild. Like she's never not speaking.
And honestly, quite a talent.
Because sometimes I'm like, what the hell do I talk to these people for?
She's been with them like 24-7 for the past, like, however many weeks.
Very impressive.
I guess she's only talked about herself, but still.
Yeah.
I wish I had that much of share.
I know.
Well, she lives a very exciting cabaret life.
Yeah, she does.
But it does seem like we end this episode with Loua and at least recognizing.
And how that will be received will be interesting.
But how funny was it?
Sorry to cut you off.
But when she was, it was towards the end of the party.
Like the other girls, I think, left and Luann's still there, like cutting the cake and all the stuff.
But she keeps saying two hours late.
She was two hours late to my party, but then walking away after every sentence, hoping that that would be the most dramatic moment of her life and that people would follow her.
Be like, no, tell me more.
And they're like, oh, God.
Oh, God.
Yeah.
Just cannot wait to send her off.
I have this thing about me
or when I have something that I think is interesting
I'll repeat it twice to make sure it lands.
I don't like and I realize it after I do it.
So if I'm telling you a story, I'll be like,
here's the punchline.
Did you hear the punchline?
I'll say it again.
I don't like it.
I mean, I don't like doing it.
I'm trying to get better at it.
But you want a response?
Yes.
Yeah.
And that's what Luann was wanting.
She wanted to repeat it enough.
Or walk away before the response wasn't what she wanted.
Yeah, yeah, just drop the bomb.
Just drop the bomb.
Be like, if someone pushes back, I won't even hear it.
Yeah.
But wait, Ben, you have to tell me.
You'll tell like an actual joke or something or a punchline, a story.
A story.
Yeah.
And then if someone doesn't respond, then you'll say it again to make sure they heard it.
Yeah.
Even, what if someone already responds?
You don't do it twice.
I don't think I do.
I think it's a debate tactic from like my time in debate in school where you like reinforce the point.
You drive it home.
You drive it home.
And I do think it works in debates like when you just like have like five facts that you know will win the argument.
And so you just repeat those in different ways.
Yes.
Yes.
And I think that's how like probably if I look back when I develop my communication style is back in like the middle school high school era.
Well, I'm going to look for this next time.
Please do.
And then call me out on it.
Okay.
You've already told me that.
And I didn't find it that interesting, Ben.
It's always awkward.
It's so weird awkward.
It wasn't cool the first time.
It's not going to be cool the second time either.

On this season of betrayal, we meet Carl Bryant.
Carl thought he was living a normal, drama-free life, until the message.
started. You will have hell to pay. For nine months, someone infiltrated every aspect of Carl's life,
threatening to ruin him. Cyberstalking, swatting, extortion, impersonation. And then the text threats
escalated. Someone's not going to make it out of this alive. It's playing out in real life,
Not just on the phone.
Every piece of evidence pointed to one man.
But every piece of evidence was a lie.
He was not going to stop unless we stopped him.

Hey, what's up y'all?
It's Questlove.
And on the Questlove show, I've been sitting down with some really interesting people.
And I've got two recent episodes.
should check out. I caught up with my good friend Jojo to talk about her music, her career,
and what she's been up to. Don't invite me to karaoke. I'm going to make it weird.
Someone's going to try to sing, leave get out, or too little, too late, or baby to you.
Oh, no. And I'm going to be like, okay, cool.
I also caught up with Wally-267 for a conversation that covered his story, his perspective,
and plenty more.
I don't even call it cheat day. That's a life day. I'm not doing nothing.
Don't try to be slick and just go Sunday. Go Wednesday. This is what you do.
Sleep later.
Make a reservation for the rest of the round later.
Just chill.
Listen to the music you want to listen to.
Just enjoy it.
It's going to be all right.
Nothing's going to have you.
You're going to wake up Wednesday.
I'm like, ah, and you're going to feel better.
And those are just two of the many recent episodes of the Questlove show.

Peace.
Hey, everybody.
It's me, W.combeau Bell.
This season of my podcast who's with me,
I speak with two-time Emmy winner and weirdly one of my best friends, Kevin Avery.
Everything up to that point, Bill G.
It was a comic.
Us going on the road doing Battle Mountain and Ely and all this shit.
You were one of the first people who took me on the road, which is funny because at the time I was like, I don't know if I like this guy.
With rapper, actor, David Diggs.
The jump off for me was Hamilton and it was the most popular thing in a very long time.
But it was still, for me, it was me and my friends making something.
dumb. Bruce Lee's daughter and Brandon Lee's sister, Shannon Lee. Back to your initial point of
stewarding my father's legacy and giving my energy to that. You're lending your life to
stewarding somebody else's life. Listen to Who's With Me with me with Debbie Kumal Bell on the
iHeart radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. So we have this dynamic.
I'm not shocked though, Lauren. We're coming towards the end of this road trip.
that tensions are high, that annoyances have happened.
If you and I took a road trip for,
I don't know how long this has been for them,
but if we went to six different,
seven different cities,
spent every waking moment together.
At some point,
you're going to say,
hey,
let's just not talk this drive,
Ben,
like this is a lot.
So I'm not shocked.
Maybe we should whip our laptops out like Vicki does.
Yeah,
just like let's work or act like we're working for a bit.
I'm not shocked that the tension
are running high as we end the season at the Berkshires
with a special appearance from Andy Cohen
and so many of the Real Housewives of Rhode Island team
that we seem to know so well and love so much.
But before we kind of close out
as we conclude the road trip,
I do want to spend a little bit more time,
Lauren, talking about this mentalist.
Please.
You are a lot more hip than I am.
And I know that, and I'm good with it.
You are a lot more aware of what's,
happening in the world around us than I am.
The mentalist thing has been a trend for the last few years.
As I said, Oz, the mentalist, I think he even had an appearance at an award show or co-hosted one.
Oh, no, he was supposed to co-
He was the White House Correspondence Dinner.
Yeah, he was supposed to do that first.
And then obviously the first one got delayed.
They did it again.
I don't know if he actually did the second one.
I think he did the second one, yeah.
So they're being used.
Their talents are, I mean, give what it is, spectacular.
I have never, I mean, as somebody who is a Christian, I've never really found them that like
Erie.
Like I know that there, like there was talk there that was like, it's of the devil.
I've never gone that way.
I think it's just probably how I walk, like my mindset in life.
I just don't jump to that conclusion very often.
Yeah.
But it did seem to be when, what, Chanel said it.
I think the women were like, yeah, 100%.
I, yeah.
And I love Shep.
Chanel's statement were like in my community he would have been burned.
Goodness, that got me.
That was funny.
That's funny.
But there was there was an authenticity to what she was saying.
There was an earnestness.
Like she believed, I think, this at some level.
And it did feel like the women agreed.
Is that what we're going, what's happening here?
Like if so, I need to like get my spirit radar up a little bit.
lost with how they even begin this because they don't ask so many questions. So if it was a leading
questions, like think of your young, I don't even know. I have no idea how they do it. But it can't be
demonic. It just can't be. Like we saw Chris Angel levitate over the Luxor. We didn't immediately
think he was the devil, right? There has to be an explanation here. So we need one of these people to
give us some kind of like an Easter egg of how this is happening just so we don't lose our minds
and go devil worshiping. Well, exactly. And I don't want to like if there is no explanation,
I need to know that because then this changes my whole fascination with it. It becomes a I don't
want to be around it. I don't need to be near it. Get me out of the room that it's happening in.
Do you use a Ouija boards? I don't. No. No, because you think it's messing with them things a little bit.
Honestly, I think as a kid, it freaked me out.
And then it's like, as an adult, I've never, like, done it.
Yeah, yeah.
I just, like, don't have one.
But I do think, you know, every once in a while, there's things that make you feel uncomfortable.
Mm-hmm.
I do believe in a spirit realm.
I think I could argue that forever.
But the mentalist stuff is more entertaining to me.
So it doesn't make, so when I think of this, well, little side tangent,
and please listeners,
respond if you have the answers here.
Like I would love to hear.
But when I think of like demonic spirits,
it's often a place,
like evil will come from,
pain will come from, hurt will come from,
you know, power will come from these evil spirits.
And they can hide in incredible ways
and look like, you know, good on the surface.
And so you kind of have to be tuned in.
a little bit.
I've just viewed the mentalist stuff as entertaining.
Like, I just find it fascinating in that.
There's no, I don't go any further.
There's no pain coming from it.
There's no hurt.
There's no, like, power.
There's some control.
I mean, some weird stuff there.
But it doesn't bring my radar up.
I agree.
Like, I 100% think it's just like taking like little cues, little cues, little cues.
But the cues are so subtle.
I don't know how anyone masters this.
this skill, especially about answering only a couple of questions.
I think we have to maybe like have a mentalist on here or something,
but they won't give us their tricks.
I would be so interested to have a mentalist on to at least ask some questions to see how far
they can answer.
I mean, I know that a good artist never gives up their secrets.
However, we could at least, I'm going to chat GPT this probably all afternoon.
But also like they had Kyle like raise her hand.
Like the touch thing.
Remember that?
I'm with you.
I've seen this stuff.
It's not just like coming up with the name.
It's how am I feeling something on my shoulder right now?
That rather than coming up with the name feels more like the devil than anything.
Yeah.
Because like who's touching her?
Who's touching her?
How is this happening?
And the most common question coming off the Bachelor was, is it real?
And so I think when we see stuff on TV, our assumption is this is not real.
However, when you see it in person, and I'm sure so many at,
listening to this have at this point.
You do have to start asking yourself to question
what's happening because it is real.
Like this, like the touching thing.
I think Kyle was fully thinking she was being talking.
No.
Kyle's not performing for us, the audience,
just so this guy looks like a good mentalist.
A hundred percent.
So very interesting part of this party was the mentalist.
It did make me excited to talk to you about your thoughts on it.
Yeah, that was my favorite part.
I could watch it all day.
Yeah, that's what I'm saying.
It's just entertaining to me.
Hey, anyways, if you are listening and you do have some answers to some of the questions that I'm asking, that Lauren's asking, please write us in.
Like, I would really like to know.
I'm more, like, I'm interested.
And I still think I'd be amazed.
I just want to know, like, hey, what is actually going on here?
And do I need to stay away from it?
Friends, family, listeners, right in.
the party anything else on the party that stood out to you?
The Munster's shoe thing was weird.
The Munster's shoe thing was terrible.
Just another cringe moment from Alex.
Teresa not understanding what the mentalist was asking her to do was very funny.
Yeah, what was?
Was she just too messed up?
She was very messed up, didn't understand.
But then she thought that she had to guess what he was thinking.
Yeah, she's not the brightest bulb.
That was just awkward.
and it lasted a long time.
He was kind of like, hey, just say the name
and she's just like staring at it.
She just didn't get the point of the whole process.
Other than that, I think that watching Luann at the end
talking to Rinda, talking to Durinda was hilarious
because she had her sunglasses on in her hat.
She seemed off her rocker,
crazier than I've ever seen Luan when she was on FaceTime.
And then there she is.
She's like, I got to go.
I'm late to get to the virtues.
I'm like, so everyone is late.
Everyone is late and we must admit that everyone is going to be late.
You know, you can't be mad.
So, yes, I said that.
It's like a double standard.
So we had Lisa late before, then Portia's late.
Now Louana's late.
Everybody's late.
I'll stereotype here.
I'm getting trouble for it.
When you ask eight real housewives to travel around and be on time, it ain't going to happen.
No.
The amount of suitcases, makeup, hair, unpacking, packing, awful.
The fact that they get glam to get on a flight or to drive to the Berkshires is also kind of wild to me.
Like I want to see these girls in like sweats, no makeup, rolling onto the bus, feeling a little tired.
I love Kyle's look.
I think you probably like Kyle's look on the bus waiting for a little bit.
She had a beanie on and some glasses.
Really cute.
It's the way to go.
I remember when Ashley wore the backwards hat, like that was a, you know, that's like it stands out.
Like just be relaxed for a little bit.
You don't need to put that fur coat on and get the makeup done.
Just hang out.
Absolutely.
Road trip.
Yeah, Alex is a little bit.
She's funky.
I had never known of her before.
Was the Munster thing?
Is that a former scene on a show?
Is that why that happened?
Okay.
Yes.
So she's walking around with her huge shoes.
She comes down the stairs.
Alex comes down the stairs.
and Luann says, you come stomping in with their Herman Monster shoes.
And then she goes, well, they're a Louvitan.
And then Luan goes, well, even Louveton makes mistakes.
And that is a classic line from almost the whole series put together.
Yes.
There's so many lines here.
She kept her shoes.
She kept them and then brought them out to do some wild dance that was, that's hard to watch.

On this season of betrayal, we meet Carl Bryant.
Carl thought he was living a normal, drama-free life until the messages started.
You will have hell to pay.
For nine months, someone infiltrated every aspect of Carl's life, threatening to ruin him.
Cyberstalking, swatting, extortion, impersonation.
And then the text threats escalated.
Someone's not going to make it out of this alive.
It's playing out in real life, not just on the phone.
Every piece of evidence pointed to one man.
But every piece of evidence was a lie.
He was not going to stop unless we stopped him.

He knows more.
He's better than me.

And on the Questlove show, I've been sitting down with some really interesting people.
And I've got two recent episodes you should check out.
I caught up with my good friend Jojo to talk about her music, her career, and what she's been up to.
Don't invite me to karaoke.
I'm going to make it weird.
Someone's going to try to sing, leave get out, or too little, too late, or baby to you.
Oh, no.
And I'm going to be like, okay, cool.
I also caught up with Wildo 267 for a conversation that covered his story, his perspective, and plenty more.
call it cheat day. That's a life day.
I'm not doing nothing. Don't try
to be slick and just go Sunday. Go Wednesday.

Kevin Avery.
Everything up to that point
Bill Jee was a comic.

and Ely and all this shit.
You were one of the first people took me on the road,
which is funny because at the time I was like,
I don't know if I like this guy.
With rapper,
actor, David Diggs.
The jump off for me was
Hamilton and it was the most popular thing in a very long time.
Yeah.
But it was still for me, it was me and my friends making something dumb.

Lauren and listeners, I want you thinking of this when I ask Lauren this question.
If you're asked to do a talent show, what is your talent that you would show off?
Well, hopefully after we get some clues here, I'll be the mentalist.
But my talent, I can fall asleep so fast.
Like, you can put me, give me a bed, like a little cot, and I can be asleep in under like 40 seconds.
That's my talent.
You don't have trouble sleeping at night then?
No.
Do you take something for this?
Daytime, nighttime, anytime.
You're just consistently tired?
I'm always tired, but I love laying down.
And I like, oh, loving asleep.
And I rub my feet together for about 30 seconds that I'm out.
Yep.
Yeah, you do the toe thing.
It drives my wife crazy.
Cricketing.
Yeah, I do that with my feet.
My dad has always done that.
My dad does it too, yeah.
It drives her crazy.
Yeah.
she does not enjoy my foot rubbing together.
No, because it's very distracting.
I'm so glad Hunter, like, can sleep through absolutely anything because I'll rub my feet into oblivion.
Yeah.
Oh, it is kind of gross to think about.
However, it is, it's always been very relaxing to me.
What's your talent?
You know, it's tough.
We did it when I was The Bachelor.
We had a talent show on the show.
And I, I wasn't trying to be difficult.
It's just like, guys, I need help here.
I don't have like a talent that can show off.
I do, I can turn my arm around like an awkwardly like far amount.
Like I have like something going on there.
That really great for a talent show.
It's not like super impressive.
I can, here's the one thing I got.
I can take my tongue and stick it in my nose.
You want to see it?
Yes.
That's very far.
Yeah.
Wow.
You don't even have a low hanging nose.
That's impressive.
Yeah.
No way. I can't do it.
Yeah. So that's been pretty cool for me in the past.
Can you do the clover?
Mm-hmm.
Yeah. So I got that going on.
I don't have like a great talent.
I used to be able to yo-yo pretty well.
I used to be able to kind of juggle.
It's lost me over time.
And so it's something I want to work on.
I want to have some talent to show off.
It kind of stresses me out.
You never know one of talent shows going to arise.
Yeah, I need something.
Like give me a guitar and let me.
you know, strum like John Mayer.
Like that would be cool.
Let's just work on one John Mayer's song.
Yeah, especially in my like single years.
Can you imagine just repeat on the corner just strumming a guitar?
Yeah.
Do you know how many times Hunter has played me Wonderwall and our continuous 20 years of dating?
Like so many.
Just one song.
Yeah.
So your talent would be, hey, let me sit in this chair.
I'll be asleep in 40 seconds.
You and your sister have something.
Ashley consistently on this show mentions how her dream day is like rotting in a bed.
Oh yeah.
That's just a normal human experience, right?
That's what everyone wants?
No.
The idea of me spending a day like that not sick stresses me out.
Okay, that's great for you then.
No, yeah.
There's not a better or worse here.
I'm just saying that you guys both love like the idea of we're going to have a sister's day.
We're going to lay in the bed and watch movies, take naps.
take naps, eat.
Yeah.
Yeah.
That's all I really want in a rainy day, a rainy day with horror movies and like Buffalo Wings.
Yeah.
What's your perfect day then?
Like the opposite.
I would love to work out, wake up early, workout, get a good hard workout and come home, play with Winnie now at this point.
It's changed in the dog.
and then have like a blue cheese olive martini at 4.30 happy hour somewhere like really like fancy
and cool with french fries and then come home and be in bed by nine. That would be like the best day.
And it's kind of like it actually is pretty attainable. I mean it's like kind of doable.
Yeah. I was going to say. I kind of like kind of like Jared would love to like work out, play baseball, play
softball, any sports, and then early bed.
And be exhausted when I lay in bed at night and be like, that was sick.
That would be my thing.
Okay.
Listeners, you have so much to do after this show.
One, tell us how mental this work.
Two, tell us your talent and what your perfect day would look like.
I just love hearing different opinions.
I think we all make the world work in some specifically different ways all the time.
Hey, next week.
Oh, yeah.
By the way, you can call us at 8445 almost.
8445 almost.
Leave a message if nobody answers and we will listen to it.
Next week is Durinda's Bluestone Manor.
Yeah, finally.
Yeah, it's a big deal.
We see some familiar faces there from the Real Housewives of Rhode Island.
We don't know exactly who we're going to see yet,
but we also see Andy Cohen show up.
This is an iconic location
where some of the best moments are had.
Anything that you're excited to see
or anything that you're expecting to see
as we enter into the final episode.
I'm just excited to see some Rhode Islanders, honestly.
Yeah, I am too. I am too.
Can I just make a weird comment real quick?
Yeah.
As we were watching this episode,
the picture,
for Rhode Island housewives popped up you know like when you get into watch the screeners what their main picture pops up uh I didn't realize like how good all of them look in that picture like I saw that picture and I was like goodness gracious like all the Rhode Island people yeah yeah like they if you look at that again just look at it like I don't know what they did they're all very beautiful people but like it's shockingly it like shocked me a little bit like I was like whoa uh huh well I mean they're all very good looking people and editing is a beautiful thing
Yeah, yeah. Specifically, like a Rosie.
Like really, really hanging out there.
Very pageony, very over the top. Yeah. Yeah.
Her and Luann honestly need to get together. That's what I'd love to see.
That would be a fun group. Hey, Lauren, it's always fun doing this with you.
Again, next week is at Bluestone Manor. We get to see the conclusion of the conversation
about Luan with Luan. The Rhode Island cast is there and Andy Cohen is stuck in the
middle of a fight. I don't think he feels uncomfortable in this moment. I think he is right in his
element and what he's got paid millions to do. We'll be back next week breaking down this episode.
So until next time, I've been Ben. I've been Lauren. Bye. Talk you later.

More specifically,
Black Literature. I'm Jack Quist Peace Thomas, and on this season of the Black Lit podcast, we're outside asking why.
