Almost Famous Podcast with IHart Radio. Welcome back to Almost Famous. It's
been here and I've been teasing you guys for a while now about a new TV show I'm hosting called
I Do on Journey TV. This is where couples get to have the most beautiful destination weddings.
We were a few episodes into filming at this point and I will tell you it has been such a fun experience
for me on the outside getting to be a part of these couples special days. So today as we tease
the airing of this show, I'm going to chat with a few of the couples who have already been a part of
the journey to I do. I get to start out with my friends, Savannah and Jace. Welcome to the show.
Hi. How are you two? We're good. Yeah, we're good. How's married life? We love it. I love it.
I've been joking with everybody and saying as advertised, but no, but it actually has been
wonderful. Jace, there is a scene. I'm not going to give it all away, but there is a scene in this
show where you make the comment if you don't marry savanna you'll never get married do you feel that
more now than ever yeah for sure i actually had a customer of mine that i was talking with earlier and i
that got brought up in our discussion this morning so it was kind of like i was like yeah well me and my
wife were talking about getting married i told her i said it's either you or nobody and if it and if it don't
work i ain't doing it again so i believe it too no it's it's even more tenfold i'm it yeah yeah
Yeah, I'm very happy where I'm at.
I bet.
Well, it seems like it from the show.
You know, it's, I want to kick this off a little bit.
I said yes to hosting I do because it feels like such a special show to be a part of.
I do get to be a part of your special days.
We get to document these days in the most incredible way.
From the resorts, the beauty of the resorts to then obviously your wishes needs once for the wedding day.
leading up to the obvious ceremony.
But we'll get to see it a little bit in this episode,
but I'd love for anybody listening,
as they have not got to watch you two say I do yet.
How did the two of you meet?
We grew up in the same hometown,
and we went to the same church,
and we just met through there.
I mean, we had known each other for years
before we actually met, quote-unquote,
but we just,
sat down next to each other one day at church and we hit it off and it was kind of the history of
that. It's kind of just a crossing paths type thing. We ran around the same circles but never
conversated even until we just sat next to each other one day and probably a meaningless question
kind of turned into more conversation and here we are about what eight years later, something like
bit. Eight years later, a few months into married life, you know, this show is interesting for a lot of
reasons. I have seen the episodes, they are incredible, and they are beautiful, and they're well
captured, and the stories are amazing throughout. And you really do get a glimpse of the
excitement going into your wedding day, also the nerves. But this was a new show. It hasn't been on TV
yet. We're launching it here. Right here on the Almost Famous Podcast is the first time really I've
talked about it publicly. It's a big, I'd feel like it would be a big deal for you too to say yes to it.
You don't know what you're getting into. This could have been a complete failure. So walk us through
the process of saying yes to a show that has never existed with the promise of being a part of your
wedding. Well, we actually were already
booking a destination wedding in
Cabo, so we knew we wanted to get
married like destination,
not in the States. So
that part was easy for us
to say yes to because we had already made
our mind up to that. We were actually
working with a travel agent
and she was like,
I had my heart set on a date
of December the 31st.
I wanted to get married on New Year's Eve, but they don't
do weddings on those days. So
we... In destination
places. So we... In destination places. So
we actually were sent this opportunity and she promised us that it was for real.
So we applied.
We made a little short video that was kind of silly and just showed our personalities.
And we interviewed and then they called us a couple weeks later and we're like,
okay, is this something that you want to do?
And Jace was like, oh gosh, I don't know.
It was kind of hard to win him over on it.
at first because it was so foreign to us.
Like we had no idea.
They did a good job of sweetening in the pot, though, obviously.
I mean, they come to us.
Like, we were getting quotes at the time we applied of like how much it was going to cost
for us to get married at a destination versus.
And then, you know, obviously the production team, they took care of, you know,
pretty much everything.
So we were out of pocket.
very minimal.
And to us, you know, like going into a marriage, that was very attractive of not having
debt, like wedding-related debt.
And so, maybe that obviously wasn't the only reason we had, like she said, we had already
looked at getting married destination.
So at first it was kind of, the only thing that I would say that we maybe were reserved
about was like, we're putting a lot of faith into people we've never met or we don't know
their body of work or like, you know, like how good is this, how good can it actually be?
I think at the end of the day, we just decided, well, we're going to go get married regardless.
They're going to give us the best product of that because we had seen the weddings that they do
at the hotel. So we knew that the wedding itself would be great regardless. And we were like,
well, if the show is good, then that's even better. But our wedding is going to be, it is what it is.
So yeah, you kind of fell on the proverbial like sword for this show.
Because from here on now, people are we going to be able to see the product and then say, yeah, that would definitely be something I would want to be a part of.
We're obviously here to highlight the two of you and your incredible love story, but also talk about why, really just talk about your experience on this show.
So now that you went through it, but you did get married and you said I do.
There's no big twist there at the end.
What would you tell any couple that's interested in destination wedding and possibly considering being a part of I do?
I think that the biggest thing that you have to be okay with is just putting all of the planning in somebody else's hands.
Like you have to be okay with completely being hands off, which was kind of what I wanted to do anyway.
So that wasn't a hard thing for me.
But like I feel like it was and people will see in the show is you don't see it come to life at all.
Like it's not there the night before.
And then it's like, bam, you wake up the next morning and it's there.
And so just trusting the process of the whole thing.
Yeah.
And I feel like throughout the whole process too is like trust was a big factor because there's a lot of times where we thought that things weren't going to turn out the way that we wanted.
or maybe demanded them to turn out.
And like we're like either y'all are going to figure it out.
We got to figure it out somehow.
But like at the same time, you know, in retrospect,
there was some kind of like curtain of production where like they were trying to
just all they were trying to do is surprise us because they wanted good TV.
And so like just trust like it took a lot of trust from like from the time that we said,
yes, we're going to be on the show till like the day like she said that we woke up
and we're like we're getting married today.
there's a lot of like times where we were so i know savanna especially was a little overwhelmed with
like this is this really you know going to turn out how we wanted it to and obviously i mean
when people see the show at the end it did turn out how we wanted it to but would you recommend
somebody going on it yeah absolutely it was like one of the most fun experiences that we've i've ever had
know. Yeah, no. I mean, in retrospect, yes, 100%. But, like, I would just, I would just caution that if
you have anxiety, you probably shouldn't do it. Yeah. Because, like I said, there was some times where we
were really, I mean, like, I thought kept telling Savannah, and I think there's clips of it in the
show. I just said, like, just trust that, like, that it's going to get done, stop worrying,
control what you can control. Either way, we're getting married. And she was all worked up. And at the
end, it was like, you're worked up for nothing. It turned out.
to be everything you wanted it to be. But yeah, I would recommend it for somebody else.
Yeah, Jason, I mean, getting to be around you for a few days, you do have, like, the beer taste.
Like, you're, you just want to hang out and have a beer where Savannah has more like the champagne kind
of expectations of, hey, there's a lot of things here. I want this to look like, be like.
And I think with a show like this, that would add stress. But I would imagine Savannah, the stress
fell on you more than Jace because Jase and his buddies just wanted to have a good time.
Like they didn't want much more than hang out by the pool, float around for a bit, and get married
to his dream girl.
Yes.
Oh, yeah, for sure.
When people watch this, obviously one of the big reasons this can even exist is that people
will tune in to learn about what a destination wedding is like, the expectations of a
destination wedding.
Why would you tell people to watch the show?
You were a part of the film, you have an idea of what this is going to look like, what this was like.
Why would a viewer say, I'm going to spend 30 minutes to an hour of my day tuning into this specific show?
I don't know.
I think just to see it unfold, I guess, like we talk about it and we have the experience.
Like all of our friends and family have the experience.
And we've just kind of told everybody like, oh, it was an awesome experience.
We got to do X, Y, and Z during the show and during the week when we were there.
But the wedding was awesome and all the things.
And we had a very small wedding.
Like there were not a lot of people there.
So I think just telling, like, giving them something like that they can see of how much fun and how much, like, how genuine our experience was there.
No, and I think, like, I mean, she says our wedding was small.
but in terms of destination weddings,
it is actually kind of large, in my opinion.
So, I mean, like, there's kind of a stigma around destination weddings
that it's just like you and your wife
and maybe, like, one or two other people.
But also, it's like just seeing, like, there was so, like,
I was in the wedding, obviously, and so it was Savannah.
And there's so much stuff that happened on the day of the wedding
that we, like, we didn't really even have any idea
was going to be a thing until the day of the wedding.
And so I feel like a lot of people don't know what goes into,
destination weddings and like there's a lot of surprises that you would have been like man i would have
never thought about that and we said the same thing like after the wedding was over we're in honeymoon
phase like we're recapping everything that just happened and we both like could come up with things
that were like i didn't know that they were going to do that or i didn't know that that was a thing
that people thought of whenever you do a destination wedding or whatever you know like it felt
like we were at a stateside wedding just like 1500 miles from home
It was really, really crazy because I was expecting it to miss aspects that normally you would have, but that wasn't the case.
Yeah, it's one of the best weddings I'd ever seen done from the ceremony to the after party to even the rehearsal dinner.
You know, for me, I think people are going to want to watch too.
My wife has watched both episodes with me and she obviously wasn't around for the filming.
And she's like, I want to watch this show one for, as you said Savannah, like the,
details, seeing all that goes into what a resort has to do, what a bride and groom wants in a
wedding, how the resort speeds things up and functions leading up to the big day. But then also,
I think it's really cool because you get to see these resorts. So if anybody's ever interested
in getting married at the Paradisisis, Palma Real and the Dominican Republic, they can see that.
But you get to see your story. And I think that's the big reason here.
is you get to see a love story coming to a climax during the ceremony and seeing the groom's face
when the bride walks down the aisle. I do think the capturing of all these little details
make it something that most people say, I want to watch if for no other reason, because it's
happy television. It's something that brings joy to our household because we get to see a love story.
take place. Yeah, for sure. I think like if you look at traditional TV, I think you just hit it on the
head. Like a lot of it's very negative or drama oriented and you don't get too many, too much like
feel good TV stuff anymore. I would definitely say that this is going to fall in the camera.
I mean, because I don't think there was a bad time had and I think you won't see anything,
but people smile in the whole thumb in terms of, I can only speak on our experience, but.
Yeah.
I don't want to give up too much of this.
show. But obviously I do, I'm excited about this show. I think it's a big deal. I think it's
beautiful television. I do think it's happy television. I think there's a lot of cool, intricate
details that will be shown that you never really get to see before. It's part of my job
while I'm there to make sure it's capturing what the resort is doing in the kitchen behind
the scenes that's then being delivered to you and your guests on a table and how all that
works out and the timing of it all and the stress that you guys don't ever see. Um,
that's happening with the resort planning staff.
That resort was so good to you guys.
I do think that.
I think there's a lot of surprises that will be shown in this show
that you two know about that the resort really made happen
to make sure that this was the perfect moment for you.
As we close up here,
the one thing we don't get to see on this show is that after party.
Or let me call it the honeymoon.
How was your honeymoon?
I'm guessing you stayed at the resort
and the guest started to leave.
tell us about those few days.
It was kind of funny.
The first day,
like when everybody left,
we were like kind of sad,
like not in a bad way,
but we were like,
it's literally over.
You anticipate this day for so long.
And I don't think people talk about it enough.
It's like all of your friends and family are leaving.
And you're like,
now it's just the two of us,
which is fine.
And we got,
we had fun.
but it was just kind of a weird feeling after when it was like we've anticipated this day for so long.
And now it was just over and it felt like it was like gone like that.
But we had a blast after we were, we hung out by the pool.
I feel like we didn't get to do that much before the wedding.
So we hung out by the pool.
We just, we had a good time.
We got massages.
Yeah.
No, yeah.
We just enjoyed being around each other and kind of like almost debriefed from the wedding.
planning stage of our life and like now we're moving into okay we're headed home and back to reality
now as a married couple um savannah was calling it the post wedding blues she said that we woke up
the next morning and all of our friends were saying by and headed back home and it's like she said it's like
we've spent the better part of six months like every we were we devoted two to three hours a day
worth of you know planning etc to this moment and it's gone but once we got over that we were having a
great time. But it just, it was very at first, bittersweet, but then it was all sweet.
So, yeah. I got to give a little credit to the production company and the resort, because, yes,
there's a lot that goes into making a television show. But I think what you're saying is even
the midst of the responsibilities of filming different activities and conversations and
different parts of the planning process, you still had a great time leading up to the big day.
And I think that is a credit to the resort one and also the production company who tried to do
what they could to stay out of your way, but also just let you guys do your thing with your friends
and capture it as it went. I think that is a really fine balance where it could have become
too much and frustrating. If you're like, hey, I haven't seen my family since I got here because
I've been in a hotel room doing interviews.
So I do think there is a huge credit that should be given to the people that made this show.
Because I think especially with the two of you and your friends, you guys had a great time.
You closed down that resort most evenings in the best of ways.
Yeah, we did.
We had a great time.
And they did really a great job.
And we also talked about how we didn't notice anybody else,
but our people that were around,
like the people that traveled with us.
It felt like almost we were there on our own.
Like nobody else was there.
So the resort production,
everybody did a great job with that too
because it felt like it was just us with our people.
Like we were the only people there
and nobody else was there.
Nobody else was ruining what we were doing.
Well, next up I get to talk to McKinsey and Josh,
who got married in Cancun.
right before you all.
Rough job I have.
I went from Cancun to the Dominican
to two separate weddings.
It was pretty great.
Be sure to check out I do on Journey TV.
It's out now.
I get to be the host of this.
I get to hang out with some incredible couples
like Savannah and Jace here
who agreed to get married
on this incredible TV show
that I think will be an enjoyable experience
for all who tune in.
Again, it's out now.
on Journey TV. It's called I Do. Savannah and Jase, I wish you nothing but joy and happiness in your
married life. Thank you for doing the show. Thanks for participating in it with me. We were all new to it,
and you guys made it easier. So I appreciate you both and have a great, great rest of your day.

Hey, stranger.
Hey, it's McKenzie and Josh.
Got married on episode one of I do in Cancun.
How are you all?
Oh, good.
He's getting used to captivity.
I've been instructed to agree.
Are you guys enjoying Mirrily?
I just caught up with you on social media the other day.
I saw that you've been cooking like breakfast or a casserole.
So you're keeping Josh fed?
Yes.
That's a full-time job for her, but yes.
It was a full-time job.
My mom bought us some casserole dishes,
so I figured why not?
We'll give it a shot.
So last night we had hamburger casserole,
and I think it tastes like in and out in a casserole form.
Josh agrees.
Yes.
Married life so far, how is it going, though?
You guys enjoying it?
Yeah, it's going great.
Yeah.
It's been really.
hectic, just lots of stuff going on, but the time we do get to spend together has been
just unbelievable. Yeah, the 20 minutes before bed is the time we spend together right now.
So you're learning, like, you guys entered into marriage and then life picked up speed,
and now you're figuring out how to not be two ships crossing in the night and actually
slow down a bit. It's not easy to figure out. Yeah, yeah. It's been a journey for sure,
but we're figuring out how to navigate it.
I mean, our whole relationship was long distance with short little births of we got to cram in as much as we can.
So we've figured out how to be effective with the time that we do get to spend together.
Yeah, not much has changed.
The, you know, this whole I do show is such a wild thing to agree to.
I just got done talking to Savannah and Jace.
You're the only two couples that we've had and we're picking up steam and starting again here
very quickly.
But you both said yes to it.
And I am curious how you agreed to say yes, knowing that you were going to be the very first
episode, very first time this show was ever done, that you would give up your wedding day
so that the world could possibly watch it on television.
It has to feel like a big deal, at least it does to me.
what went into the decision to say yes?
I think we both were like, eh, why not?
I don't know.
If it sucks, it sucks, and we'll have something to talk about.
And if it's awesome, then we'll have something to talk about.
At the end of the day, like, there's no negative thing that could really come from it.
Yeah.
I think one way or the other, we thought, you know, it'll be memorable, whether good or bad.
And we'll get to spend it with family and friends.
And that's kind of what was important to us.
Yeah.
So it's done.
I've seen it.
Was it worth it?
Yeah.
Absolutely.
It was definitely worth it.
That's going to be the big thing as we continue on.
And until the show is out there, I think it is a big risk for somebody to say yes to it.
They don't know what it's going to be like.
They don't know if it's going to be chaos, if it's going to be distracting.
So I would love for the two of you to tell anybody that's interested.
what the experience was like filming this show.
Well, we actually had a phone call with your next couple.
They had some questions for us, too,
and asking if it was worth it.
And we told them 100%.
I mean, why wouldn't you take the opportunity?
Is a door that's opening that is very odd
and is probably not going to ever happen again?
So, yeah, to just do it.
and enjoy the time that you get with family at no cost to you.
So really there's no risk in it all.
And one thing that was pretty cool and big for us was that it's a destination wedding.
So you get more than just a four-hour block to try and say hello and goodbye to people in 30 seconds.
And we were able to just actually hang out by the pool and have some dinner and kind of do things that are more than just,
like hello, how's it going goodbye?
So it was really nice to be able to elongate that whole wedding journey over a few days
rather than cram it into a few hours.
Yeah, one of the things we've talked about kind of behind the scenes is,
hey, if this show is going to be successful, I do think they're fantastic to watch.
I was just talking about my wife got to watch them with me and she was like,
this is a good show, like the details of the wedding process, the desires of the bride and groom,
the family dynamics coming together.
But then also with the conclusion,
which is, you know, two people getting married
and the happiness that comes from obviously that commitment
and the love that they found,
this is a great show.
But behind the scenes we were talking,
it's only going to be successful.
If the couples have a good experience, for one,
and they can leave it saying,
hey, I enjoyed this.
You're not watching some, like, trauma dump.
on television. Like this was actually really good for us. Can you speak to kind of what it felt like
did it, I guess the better question is, did it feel like your wedding? Did it actually feel like
the thing you had dreamed of or did it feel like you were making a TV show the whole time?
I think I went into it was very like open expectations just because it is a very unconventional
wedding. But that being said, it was, in my opinion, it was a great
experience. I've had a few people that have asked, you know, would you do it again? And each time
the answer has been yes. Just kind of going back to what we said before of, you know, the experiences
we got to have with family, friends, and I think a big thing for us, too, was the team that was
working on it kind of took a lot of weight off our shoulders as far as, you know, the hotel staff
and whatever we needed, they were on it. And so that was, I think, pretty huge to relieve some
of that stress.
Yeah, I think we went into it, like he said, with little to no expectations.
We didn't have anyone that we could lean on or talk to about what the experience is
going to be like.
So I know after day one, we were pretty like, oh, no, this is a lot of filming.
And this is energetically draining.
But then we still woke up each morning really excited for the next film session.
And we're the guinea pigs, right?
So the kinks got worked out as we were going through it.
And it did feel like our wedding.
I mean, granted, it was unconventional,
but it still felt like we were getting married and preparing for it.
And I remember that five minutes waiting, peeking my head around the corner when everyone was walking down the aisle.
And I'm standing in the back waiting there.
Like, that felt real because it was.
Yeah, it's very real.
I think we both talked about it too.
like I don't I think if we broke eye contact it was to look at Dustin and then look back at each other
I don't I didn't notice cameras or microphones or anything and they were very like fly on the wall
like they had said so that was that was actually really nice to to be able to just be in the moment
and not be worried about what's going on around it is kind of wild how after day one you forget
the cameras are there even though they're right in your face it happens every time it gets dangerous
because you start to get too comfortable.
You don't know what you're going to do that could be shown.
I'm going to get sneaky with my mother.
Do you ever think about a random pop culture moment?
Like something that dominated the culture and then quietly disappeared?
We do constantly.
This is Bestie Listen.
Every week, we revisit the most niche corners of pop culture.
The stuff that shaped us for better or worse.
And ask, what was that?
And more importantly, what do we really?
love it. We celebrate it. We question it. And give it the level of analysis it absolutely did not ask for.

Lisa, we should tell them about our new show.
Oh my God, Lexi.
We have a new podcast.
It's called Don't Lie to Me.
I'm Lexi You Want You.
We're two best friends, 22 years apart, but so close at heart.
And I'm Lisa Di Giulio, the old one, which means we have wildly different references,
occasionally different opinions, and at this point in my 50s, I've lived it all.
I'm not going to get anywhere fighting.
That is wild.
I learned that about you today.
Now in my 30s, being the founder of new shoes, good taste is my business,
and I've always got something to say.
If men were just honest about this, they were just honest about this.
be so much more peace in the world.
We're going to talk about dating, relationships, beauty, getting older, and a little wiser.
We're best friends, but we don't always agree.
Because you told us how accommodating you are.
Obviously, I would do what I think I could do to fight the fight, but there's only so much
fight I can fight.
Don't lie to me.
Don't lie to me.
Don't lie to me.
Don't lie to me.
Don't lie to me.
Don't lie to me.
Liar.

I don't know.
Have you guys heard of faux journaling?
Yeah, it's reading.
It's called reading.
So we don't like to use that word anymore.
Okay.
A panel of New Yorker cartoonists.
Have you guys done Terry Gross's Peloton class?
No!
I've been dying too!
I'm so sorry.
I'm seeing a reading of Sadako and the Thousand Paper Cranes by Audra McDonald's at the Wonderland Bookstore on 14th.
That's crazy.
I went to the Wonderland Bookstore yesterday and I heard Nora Jones do a reading of Zero Dark 30.
No way.
You have to come to the last bookstore though.
Kim Cottrell is reading the guitar tabs of yesterday.

Podcast. The True Crime Comedy Podcasts, all about robbery,
fraud and those who practice it.
Each week I bring on incredible guests like Conan O'Brien, Iowa Debris, Lamorne Morris, and Nicole Byer.
Ooh, I scammed them.
What?
I can talk to you for an hour.
You're a generational yapper like me.
That's why I had to make yapping a job.
And the scams run the gamut.
I'm talking about scams from the 1800s all the way up to today.
I also warn you and keep you safe against scammers.
Call your grandparents.
Tell your parents to stop clicking on links.
Please.
And now you can catch full episodes of my show on YouTube.
If there's a scam, I'm here to protect you.
And I'm also here to laugh with you.
So if you like fun, if you like comedy and you like learning and protecting yourself from criminals,
start listening to Scam Goddess on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcast, or wherever you get your podcast.
Your mom is a big character in the show, obviously.
And it's so fun to watch your families come together.
One of the big storylines is that your family.
really hadn't met in the time that you had been together. And one of the reasons for that is because
of the way you met is shown on the show. But I think it's a good reason why somebody would want to
tune into your episode specifically is you two met. And then Josh, you got deployed for nine months,
I believe. So you met, knew you liked each other. And then you had to leave, which makes a really
incredible love story because you stuck it out together. Yeah, it was early March.
March met for two days in the middle of April and then I left in May. So it was a lot of like,
what are we doing right now? This is crazy. But let's see what happens and ride it out.
Probably more so on my part that whole nine months. I was like, oh my gosh, why would I do this?
Yeah. Well, it's really special for the two of you then to be able to share that with us on TV.
So you stuck it out. You get married on television. Nothing about your relationship has been conventional,
but why would you want it to be, you want to keep it exciting and new and tried new things?
Speaking of exciting and new, we don't get to really watch the follow-up from these episodes.
So we don't know what you did for your honeymoon, if anything yet.
Have you gone on a honeymoon?
Did we go on honeymoon?
Not really, no.
We're still living in it.
We're in a constant state of honeymoon.
That's sweet.
We're trying to figure that out.
had the home that I designed for showcase of homes went on display last weekend, the last two
weekends. So that was a really big deal. As soon as we got back, it was go, go, go, get ready for
that, which has been a huge success for my business. So now I think I can finally breathe. But there's
been a huge influx of new contracts flowing in. So breathing, not necessary, I guess, until babies come.
I think it's kind of the plan for a honeymoon is like a one-year anniversary honeymoon
combo type of thing.
Yeah, that'll be sweet.
So obviously, Kinsea, you're an interior designer, Josh, you're doing fitness work,
but your businesses, you get married, you come together as a team, and they both sound
like they've taken off in the last few months.
Yeah.
Yeah.
He's my muscle to help move all the furniture and decor items around from location to location.
and your business is doing good.
His app that he's developing is hopefully going to be released within the next year.
Yep, that's the plan.
He's just been sitting on the computer all day when he's not training.
He is just nerding out making it happen.
This is a good platform to be able to talk about the stuff that you're promoting.
And so you're both in the Utah area.
Kinsey, your business name is?
Got really creative three years ago when I made the name.
It's McKenzie.
Segrin interior design.
So hopefully a rebrand will be happening soon and changing to McKenzie Wiles.
Yeah, yeah.
Good point.
She's already thrown around new logos and coming up with stuff.
Yeah, and Josh, your app, you're hoping comes out next year.
You don't know exactly yet.
Yeah, I mean, there's lots of testing and figuring out bugs and everything.
But the plan is that it will come out sometime next year.
hopefully middle to late next year.
My final question for the two of you,
obviously you haven't seen the episode.
So it's a little unfair for me to even ask this.
But you have an idea.
You were a part of it.
There's no crazy surprises.
Let me tell you that.
It's a lot of capturing the moments that you guys had
with your family and together
and the things that you got to do.
For anybody that's sitting out there listening to this,
why would they want to watch I do
in Destination on Journey?
TV.
I don't watch a whole lot of reality TV, to be honest, but I don't really know of any other
shows that are about destination weddings and just like essentially pulling someone off
the street and like, hey, let's do this thing now.
And I think the fact that they're in different locations is pretty cool.
It's not just rinse and repeat of the same place.
So you're going to get a different kind of vibe from each episode.
I think people would want to tune into our episode to see how our families who have never met come together and see what happens.
There's some big, I mean, your mom's a big personality, Kinsey.
Like, she is.
Oh, no.
She's really thrilled about that.
I'll tell you.
She has some good one-liners.
Yeah.
She is, it's obviously very beautiful to see.
your relationship together. But then also just like leading up to meeting your now husband's
family and what that's going to be like and the nerves of that. I remember those days.
Goodness gracious. My parents aren't as maybe big of personalities as your mom, but I was nervous
for the in-laws to meet. Like how is this going to go? Are they going to see eye to eye?
What's going to be said that maybe throws somebody off or not said? So it's fun to be able to
watch that too during your episode is that first interaction between families and how it goes down.
Yeah.
Yep.
I'm excited to see some Bobbo liners in there.
Yeah.
Yeah.
There's a moment during your episode that I did tear up.
It's very beautiful.
I'll leave that for the viewers to be able to watch on their own and guess when it happened.
But there are some really incredible moments that are heartfelt.
and I felt privileged, even being the host of the show,
being, have the privilege of watching it back on television,
like having access to those moments.
Now, I guess I lied.
That wasn't my final question.
One of the big things is, yes, this is also my show with Iheart that we're on right now,
along with my wonderful co-host, Ashley, who is not with us currently,
because she's up to other things.
But did you have any idea?
idea who I was going into this show or were you like this random host who's also been on reality
television, it could potentially ruin my wedding day.
I am not a reality TV watcher, so I did not know who you were until obviously we started
Googling who you were and then mentioning it to friends and family.
And by the way, Micah's girlfriend, soon-to-be fiancé Taylor says hello.
Yeah, I don't think you knew either, but we were like, okay, cool.
I don't know.
I grew up in L.A. and in the TV show scene.
So I know you're just a normal dude.
That was on TV.
So I think that was my expectation.
Yeah, one of my hopes with this is, like, I am more involved than I thought I was going to be,
honestly, when I agreed to host this with, you know, coordinating and,
talking, I don't know how much help I am actually,
but I'm making sure things are being done
or getting to do the interviews with the chefs behind the scenes
or the wedding planners behind the scenes
and saying, okay, I know Kinsey's brought this up to me.
Is this being talked about?
Are you guys even working on this?
One of my hopes is as the show continues,
that I am a place of comfort.
Remember me on The Bachelor or not
that this is a job I take seriously
because it is a wedding for crying out loud.
Like you have to do this well.
I don't want to be a part of a show where every time I leave,
I'm like, well, we ruin their day.
I do think this is done so well.
I think it's a beautiful show.
I think you're going to love having it captured in the way that it is captured.
The resort looks beautiful.
The team at the resort do such an amazing job for the two of you.
Some stuff that you've probably not even realized have happened.
yet. And then we get to watch two of you say I do at the conclusion of the episode.
McKenzie and Josh, we wish you the best. Thank you for saying yes to doing this. I'm so happy
that I got to be a part of it. And I'm very happy to be able to promote this now here at the
almost famous podcast. McKinsey and Josh's episode takes place in Cancun, Mexico. It is beautiful,
spectacular and full of love and all the details that go into a destination wedding.
McKenzie and Josh wish you the best thing for jumping on.
Thank you.
Thanks, Ben.
