This person writes, my boyfriend's been hanging out with his young professor a lot. He doesn't think it's a problem, but I don't trust her. Now he's insisting we get to know each other, but I just want her gone.
Starting point is 00:00:25 Hold up. Isn't that against school policy? That seems inappropriate. Maybe find out how it ends by listening to the OK Storytime podcast and the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Hello, it's Daniel Fischel. Writer Strong. And Will Ferdell from PodMeets World. We are back in Las Vegas and giving the people what they want, a full week of Y2K content. Tell me why. Well, for the Backstreet Boys residency at Sphere, of course.

And finally, Ashley Simpson-Ross joins us to talk about her upcoming sold-out Vegas residency. Listen to PodMeets World on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Each episode will feature a special bestie, and you're not going to want to miss it. My name is Curley. And I'm Maya. Get in here. Starting point is 00:02:43 This is the Ben and Ashley I, Almost Famous Podcast with IHart Radio. Hey, guys, welcome to the almost famous podcast. It's Ashley and Ben. And we are here today interviewing one of our favorites from. Jen season and from Paradise, even though he wasn't on it, nearly enough. Hakeem Moulton. Welcome to the show. Damn, girl, you had to say he wasn't on there nearly as long.
Starting point is 00:03:09 We know that, girl. Way to rub some song in the wound. We know I was booted night one. Gosh. Okay. I was hoping that they would figure out some way to keep you longer because we needed your facial expressions throughout the entire season. We're hilarious.
Starting point is 00:03:24 Honestly, I just needed some of Ben's game and then I would be good. honestly if I had his juice and then I brought that on the beach with me we good I'll probably be having a ring on my finger right now yeah because it worked out so well for me buddy well Kakeem that's what brings me to one of my first questions is you mentioned my ring off camera
Starting point is 00:03:47 and I was like does he know that that's like a bachelor ring like that's a Neil Lane bachelor engagement ring and then you said that Ben has games so I'm assuming that you have been a fan of the show for a while Not for a while. I'm going to be honest. I'm going to be very, very honest. I haven't watched it since when I was on The Bachelorette. I didn't see a season prior to that, right? Really? Yeah, yeah. But when I got off of her season, I literally hyper-binged up until Matt James's season, Bachelor Bachelorette. So. Did you study up on Bachelor History? There's Bachelor History. Do you know who the hell we are? Because you don't need to know where we are. But, like, you are, you are an icon to me.
Starting point is 00:04:32 You're so funny. But, I mean, honestly, I'm going off of just how good looking you both are. I mean, Ben's obviously very good looking. He's an all-American white dude. And then we got you gorgeous as well. So, like, I figure, like, we had some big deals. I personally, I'm, like I said, I obviously knew I was going on somewhere that was a big deal. Because it's a show podcast.
Starting point is 00:04:53 He was going on some Bachelor-related podcast. guys no no it's not even like that it's not even like that yeah it's it is a big deal i have to ask you this before we dive into this whole thing what's good when you wake up in the morning what do you do to be you because you are one of those people yeah that brings joy you are drinking an energy drink which makes me a little nervous that you're like really peaking right now and at some point you're going to crash during this show but no what's your routine like why do you you why do you act the way you act because it is awesome though i appreciate that first of that's that's so much love appreciate you ben um honestly it hasn't always been like this all my life you
Starting point is 00:05:38 know i just try to choose positivity and happiness so i'm if i'm sleeping i'm waking up around 7.30 at o'clock a.m getting out boom you know probably scroll on instagram just like any other normal human like individual um brush my teeth hop in the shower have some coffee and uh probably do everything that the normal human being does just watch first take and all those good things honestly um truthfully it just comes from my experience in life and everything i've seen and gone through that you realize life is so short and everybody goes through things you know your shit don't stank you shit does stink you know what i mean so it's just like i kind of just try to be, just be real.
Starting point is 00:06:20 I just kind of just be myself in a sense, if that makes sense. Yeah, you're even wearing a hat right now that says happy. You are the opposite of vanilla to me. You are... Girl. You've got so much going on. How could Ricky, who honestly, I forgot even existed,
Starting point is 00:06:38 could never forget about Hakeem's existence, call you vanilla in the first episode? You know, Ricky is actually, I promise you, He's not as bad as I made it seem like on camera. Ricky's not a bad dude. I don't have anything bad to say about him, but I don't know why he called me Vanilla, truthfully, because I'm your homie regardless.
Starting point is 00:06:58 I mean, I would never call you Vanilla. Because even if you had vanilla answers, I'm going to tell you off camera one-on-one, like, yo, like this is what I would do, like, blah, blah, blah. But at the end of the day, I think everyone does things their own way, and I need to be better with my emotions and how I react to certain stuff like that. that because it was a time and place for me to talk with him about that. But yeah, the whole
Starting point is 00:07:20 vanilla situation, I was kind of thrown off too a little bit. I'm like, bro, what's up? What you mean? Like, we're here for the same thing. Like, we were talking before the season. Like, we both want to get married and all this, man. What's going on? You know? So that's all thrown off a little bit, but Ricky's a great guy. Ricky's a great guy. Yeah, I don't have anything much to any bad things to say about him. Have you guys talked since? No. He's reached out. I've just chosen not to reach back out just because I feel like I want to be real and not hold resentment towards him if I was to like just pretend to be friends and so forth and I don't want to do that because again I know Ricky's a good dude but like honestly I'm a very emotional guy and I hold things to my
Starting point is 00:08:02 chest and I take things really to heart and I go laity I took that very much to heart he's like I said he's a great dude we he talked briefly uh briefly um It wasn't, I don't think I'm talking about, but yeah, we didn't really, we haven't really, we haven't talked. No, we haven't talked. He's reached out to him, reached out to me, but I haven't, I haven't responded yet, so. If it makes you feel better, I was called Vanilla too. You and I both have the same thing said to us. And you know what?
Starting point is 00:08:35 After a few years, like, I would rather be that guy than I would the dude causing chaos. You kind of fall into it, you know? It works out over time. No, for sure, absolutely. No, I agree with you. I agree with you. It's just like, when you're coming from a person that knows you and just like, damn, bro, like, you know what I mean? It's just kind of like, damn, like, that's how you really feel about me?
Starting point is 00:08:54 Like, those are my answers. Those are my real life examples of myself. So I was kind of like, a little bit thrown off a little hurt. So that's why I was that. That's fair. I don't think I am vanilla. So, and I've got to be reaching out to me, show me love. They were like, you're not vanilla.
Starting point is 00:09:07 You're not vanilla. You're not vanilla. You're not vanilla. So I was like, all right. Shout out them. We'll be one of those people, too. you're not vanilla man you're you're great you came on here you complimented Ashley you lit her up she was you know she's tired she's a mama too she just sits down here today and as
Starting point is 00:09:22 soon as you jumped on she lit up and you could tell she was ready to do this and so that is not a vanilla characteristic that is one who's bringing energy yes very chocolate here I feel like I'm going to walk down like a weird line that I could have been in trouble there as well so I'll just pause myself you won't do it you won't do it you won't do it you won't do it I think she won't you won't do it I'm going to drink it out of mocha mocha coffee right now the chocolate on the bottom of it right now I will say you are a lot more spicy than anything vanilla and I wish you would have been around longer honestly I mean as the season was announced I think we got like a spoiler about the cast that was going to be there we saw your picture and we were fired up and I think a lot of people
Starting point is 00:10:10 really fired up. I remember seeing an Instagram post of the spoiler in the comments, a lot of people were very excited to watch you on the beach because they didn't feel like they got enough of you even during Jen season. I think they wanted to see more of you. Yeah, absolutely. I don't really know how to phrase this, but I think you're going to know what I'm asking. Yeah. Why weren't you there longer? Like what, I mean, we said last week on the show that the way the format of this show this season has been, people seem to come and go too quickly for us. They seem to be there and leave, and sometimes there's not even an opportunity to connect because everybody's already pretty much matched up. So you're there causing chaos. And if you're somebody like you, who doesn't like to
Starting point is 00:10:52 step on toes, but you're there to find love, it's hard for you to meet anybody. So I guess if you could just expound on why were you only there for such a short period of time outside of the obvious, which is, hey, you didn't meet somebody. Yeah. Um, truthfully, I just don't think, one, I'm a very, I'm a very, I'm a very, very upfront and like, I'm very super like, I'm bold and I'm like, I get straight to the point, you know, like, I guess I think I took it way too serious when I was talking to the women in my opinion. Maybe I took it too serious in a sense because I was trying to figure out like, like, yeah, three weeks. And three weeks, I'm skipping my family meeting her and all that. And I'm like, yo, I got to figure out if I can actually. actually see myself going down the altar with her. Maybe I took that too much into my head instead of actually being in the moment and enjoying the moment when I was there, to be frankly honest with you. But also, I think the girls have better matches there too.
Starting point is 00:11:51 You know, I was going, Bailey's gorgeous, but like her and Jeremy have a sensational connection they share gum, you know what I mean? Like, I would be able to do something like that with her, you know what I mean? Yo, that was weird. I know that we do like a lot, like, grosser things as humans. like romantically but like what actually? That was just like why did that get us? Why did
Starting point is 00:12:13 that get me? Like just sharing gum? Like it's like what's the difference between sharing gum and like just putting your tongue in somebody's mouth? Oh for really? Right? But like I didn't love it. Because I think everything else has a benefit. I think the way we look at this is like other things that you're speaking
Starting point is 00:12:29 of have like a personal benefit. There's a I don't think sharing gum has any personal benefit. There's no better feeling. There's no release. There's no release relaxation there's no like spice it's just like you're just doing it to do it but for instance you know like i feel like everybody has their things they do with their person so i thought that was kind of like i wouldn't share my gum like that especially stretching out that long the stretch yeah but it was cute and it met something between them and i want that i want that nonverbal maybe
Starting point is 00:13:00 or something that's like maybe achy to everybody else but it's something that's just with us and it's us against the world like that's that's dope you don't think so well no that's a good point actually the two of them seem like very sexually charged between each other and i want to know see normally like we would see that stuff with the old paradise and like the boom boom room because it's like a shared everything was a shared space yeah like are bailey and jeremy like doing things and we don't even know because of these private bedrooms shit if they were we encouraging it have fun I don't know, but if they are, let them be great. Well, could you give us an insight in that?
Starting point is 00:13:38 Because we haven't quite seen something like that play out. The way Paradise is structured at this resort, do you have more access to privacy than maybe at the old spot? Could you sneak away and go to one of your private rooms and nobody would ever know? Well, there's cameras in our room, so they would absolutely know. Yeah, there's cameras in our room. So I don't know the layout of the last, like, how they were, like, sleeping and so forth. All I know is there wasn't AC.
Starting point is 00:14:09 So, like, that was the big thing. We had AC. And me and, me and Jonathan, sorry, we were rooming together. And he likes it super cold. And I like it super warm. So we had a, yeah, yeah, yeah. That might be the weirdest thing about you. What?
Starting point is 00:14:24 I like it super warm, too. What's your favorite room temperature? You do, actually? Yeah, I like it 72 in the house. Oh, seven. Oh, girl, I have it like at 78, 79. Okay, that's interesting. I will tell you, I, if I was living alone, I would probably go to 74.
Starting point is 00:14:42 And I won't lie, like, in grad school, my friends would come over to my apartment and I would have it set in the winter in Syracuse to like 78. But like, you're telling us that like in the, yeah, because I was living alone and it was a polar tundra. you have your just summer temperature at 78 in the house let me ask you a question if you have your house at like 70 or let me ask you Ben where where's what temperature is your place at ideally 68 69 can you feel comfortable walking around without socks no shirt just your boxers or even the shorts in the house at 69
Starting point is 00:15:18 thank you hakeem this is what I say I'm like I just want to wear a little tank top of a sports bra with little short shorts and no socks I have to bundle See, like, this is my house right now. The upstairs is set to 70 because, you know, people. As exciting as this conversation is. You're reminding me of, like, my 85-year-old grandmother who, like, you walk into her little, like, condo suite, and it's 90 degrees in there. And you can't breathe because it's so hot. I've never heard of this.
Starting point is 00:15:52 This is a new thing for me. I will say this, Akeem. There's many reasons why you are going to be a great. great husband one day. You liking it warm in your house is another additional reason why you're going to be a great husband because it is a battle from the start as newlyweds to try to figure out how each person can be happy when one is burning up and the other one is always cold. So just remember, you're going to be a great husband. You're going to keep your girl warm and we're excited about that for you. I appreciate that. I appreciate that. I feel like there's a subtle like, so
Starting point is 00:16:28 you have feminine quality. So you just basically... No, there's none of that. I'm just kidding. There's none of that. I was just saying you're going to be a great husband, Hakeem. My boyfriend's professor is way too friendly, and now I'm seriously suspicious. Wait a minute, Sam.
Starting point is 00:16:47 Maybe her boyfriend's just looking for extra credit. Well, Dakota, it's back to school week on the OK Storytime podcast, so we'll find out soon. This person writes, my boyfriend has been hanging out with his young professor a lot. He doesn't think it's a problem, but I don't trust her. Now, he's insisting we get to know each other, but I just want her gone. Now, hold up. Isn't that against school policy? That sounds totally inappropriate.
Starting point is 00:17:07 Well, according to this person, this is her boyfriend's former professor, and they're the same age. And it's even more likely that they're cheating. He insists there's nothing between them. I mean, do you believe him? Well, he's certainly trying to get this person to believe him because he now wants them both to meet. So, do we find out if this person's boyfriend really cheated with his professor or not? To hear the explosive finale, listen to the OK story. podcast on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast.

Starting point is 00:17:51 Tell me, Y. Well, for the Backstreet Boys residency at Sphere, of course. We sat down with Kevin Richardson and Agent. J. McLean just minutes before they took the stage and our very own Wilfredel basically became the newest member of the band. Boy band, please. Plus, the man who has the longest running comedy show on the strip joins us and gets his props. It's carrot top, baby. And finally, we all L-O-V-E-Hur, Ashley Simpson-Ross joins us to talk about her upcoming sold-out Vegas residency. It's a full week of nostalgic interviews you don't want to miss. Listen to PodMeets World on the
Starting point is 00:18:27 High Heart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. December 29th, 1975, LaGuardia Airport. The holiday rush, parents hauling luggage, kids gripping their new Christmas toys. Then, at 6.33 p.m., everything changed. There's been a bombing at the TWA terminal. Apparently the explosion, actually. impelled metal, glass. The injured were being loaded into ambulances, just a chaotic, chaotic scene.
Starting point is 00:19:05 In its wake, a new kind of enemy emerged, and it was here to stay. Terrorism. Law and Order Criminal Justice System is back. In Season 2, we're turning our focus to a threat that hides in plain sight. That's harder to predict and even harder to stop. Listen to the new season of Law and Order. criminal justice system on the iHeart radio app apple podcasts or wherever you get your podcasts imagine that you're on an airplane and all of a sudden you hear this attention passengers
Starting point is 00:19:42 the pilot is having an emergency and we need someone anyone to land this plane think you could do it it turns out that nearly 50% of men think that they could land the plane with the help of air traffic And they're saying like, okay, pull this, until this, pull that, turn this. It's just, I can do it my eyes close. I'm Mani. I'm Noah. This is Devin. And on our new show, no such thing, we get to the bottom of questions like these.
Starting point is 00:20:10 Join us as we talk to the leading expert on overconfidence. Those who lack expertise lack the expertise they need to recognize that they lack expertise. And then, as we try the whole thing out for real. Wait, what? Oh, that's the run right. I'm looking at this thing, see? Listen to No Such Thing on the I Heart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Hi, I'm Janica Lopez, and in the new season of the Overcomfort Podcast, I'm taking you on an exciting journey of self-reflection.
Starting point is 00:20:43 Am I ready to enter this new part of my life? Like, am I ready to be in a relationship? Am I ready to have kids and to really just devote myself and my time? I wanted to be successful on my own, not just because of who my mom is. Like, I felt like I needed to be better or work twice as hard as she did. Join me for conversations about healing and growth. Life is freaking hard. And growth doesn't happen in comfort.
Starting point is 00:21:06 It happens in motion, even when you're hurting. All from one of my favorite spaces, The Kitchen. Honestly, these are going to come out so freaking amazing. Be a part of my new chapter and listen to the new season of the Overcomper podcast as part of the MyCultura podcast network on the IHHHHHH HeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. I want to know who you went there for. Who was on your dream list? Oh my God. That's a great question.
Starting point is 00:21:45 There's people that's on there, but I'm like, they're with like a friend of mine. So it's like, I just want to make sure like, it's not now. But beforehand, like, Parisa was like, number. Number one, I was like, I want to meet her so bad. I've seen her at like events and I've like said hi to her. I followed her. But I specifically didn't reach out to her because I wanted to like get the raw parisa, like the, you know, she's in the wild.
Starting point is 00:22:09 She likes to look at those type of things. And I don't do that stuff. I don't do that at all. Let me tell you that I don't camp. I don't hike. I don't like insects. I don't like any of that stuff. But I literally, let me tell you guys this, I literally looked at.
Starting point is 00:22:25 wildlife in Costa Rica tried to prepare a little bit like what I would get myself into if I was to be with Parisa. That's how much I was locked in, y'all. Because she loves that stuff. Correct. But I had to prepare myself
Starting point is 00:22:39 for the, you know, unexpected. So I was like, okay, let me find out what's all these things. Oh, there's going to be lizards, okay? And then they have these things. So I was like, all right, they got monkeys in them joints. So I was like, but then she wasn't down. I was like, damn.
Starting point is 00:22:54 So I was like, damn. And then I also wanted to meet Allie Joe as well. I wanted to meet Allie Joe as well. And I also wanted to meet... This was a Hail Mary, Ben. Like, Olivia Lewis was like, I said that before, like, eight months before. That was a Hail Mary. Underrated.
Starting point is 00:23:08 She's underrated coming off of Paradise. I'm surprised that she wasn't on more people's list. Maybe she was. But we liked her in Paradise. I thought she was a great commentator. She's amazing. And she's literally gorgeous. So I think her person,
Starting point is 00:23:25 personality, her energy is what really attracted me to her. So that's why I really wanted to meet her. But, you know, unfortunately, things didn't work out that way. So. Ali Joe, Hakeem, and just for our listener's sake and for my sake, because I've never been to Paradise. Yeah. How, like, how does names even pop up on your radar? Because she's great. Yeah. But she's not somebody that I really even knew was on the show until she came to Paradise. So how, how was she even on your radar for somebody that you'd be interested in?
Starting point is 00:23:55 Yeah, I mean, Jojo was on Grant's season, and Grant's my best friend, so I watched his seasons and all that, and I see her and all that. So I saw her personality, how she is as a woman and as well. So, yeah, so that's kind of how I kind of had these thoughts. So you just knew from the C, okay. Yeah, I didn't know if there was like a list of potentials they send you and you kind of go through them and say, maybe. Oh, no, no, no, no. There's very conversational. They were like, oh, so what is your thoughts so far?
Starting point is 00:24:21 Like, how do you feel about X, Y, and C? And I'm like, yo, she's dope. Like, yo, like, I could see myself with her type of thing. So, yeah. Okay. That makes more sense. And I also met Jojo at, I met her out before as well. She's, she's super good people, super, super good people.
Starting point is 00:24:37 Did you just said that you're, like, best friends to Grant? Yeah, that is, that is my brother from another mother. So what happened between him and Giuliana? What a question. Whoa, whoa, whoa. Whoa. Oh, wow. we even like ease into that like how's he doing by the way what happened she just says let's go for it
Starting point is 00:24:58 i unfortunately actually even though i rock with you heavy i can't speak with i can't speak on another man's relationship you know what i can't yeah i don't happen how's grant doing can you at least tell us that yeah i can tell you how he's doing he's doing phenomenal like he has um some content that he's going to be doing like a content series that he was telling me about He's also with the same management as well as me. He's going to be at San Diego Swim Week with me. I'm walking on San Diego Swim Week. He's doing well.
Starting point is 00:25:31 He's doing very well. I did see you working out in a video or something. You're jacked. Like you work out hard. Dude. You don't know how much that means. Coming from you, Ben Higgins, telling me I'm getting. Now, I saw a video, and I saw the video, and I think it was like a, like, a TikTok
Starting point is 00:25:48 that somebody else had posted of a video they'd seen you work. out yeah and they were like saying how like incredible it was and I was like dang dude like you you you you push it hard I appreciate that brother I appreciate that I don't know if you really mean that I don't know if you really saw Instagram video me working out but I'm I'm going I'm going to give you the benefit of the job it's been a while maybe I was just having dreams about you and it popped in my dream either way um you're going to be walking I woke up going I got to get to the gym
Starting point is 00:26:21 I gotta go So you're walking in swim week That's a big announcement Yeah And there's other I think as well Good for you Hey back to Paradise
Starting point is 00:26:34 You left And they announced That money was going to be a component And this season of Paradise We have mixed thoughts on it here At the Almost Famous podcast Honestly we've kind of come to the consensus That we just don't like it
Starting point is 00:26:47 it distracts from the love. Ashley is maybe a little less on that side than me. We're getting to know more though, Ben. We're getting to know more because, you know, at the end of last week's episode in the teaser, Jesse says that like you're going to compete in couples' challenges to see how strong you are together. And then it seems like the strongest couple
Starting point is 00:27:06 determined by these challenges will be winning the money together. So it's not as if like love or money. Yeah. It's fair. Ashley was out last week. Come on. There's a lot of a lot more context there now.
Starting point is 00:27:21 But, Hakeem, would that have changed your strategy at all if you knew that money was going to be a component going into it? Honestly, I have no clue
Starting point is 00:27:31 because I'm still confused on the money component. Like, what the fuck is going on. That's what I think. We're still supposed to be a little confused, but I think we have a little bit
Starting point is 00:27:39 of a clearer picture. I think that what seems completely different is that we are always getting teases towards engagements but we're not getting any teases to an engagement there's no rings in the teasers
Starting point is 00:27:53 there's just the pot of money so maybe instead of a ring you guys are splitting money and they're like you can get your own Neil Lane with this money or are they just trying not to push engagements because they're a little concerned that engagements haven't been working lately
Starting point is 00:28:07 if you guys have been in the Bachelor franchise for a minute right like you guys you guys are old almost 11 years Let me ask you this. If y'all confused, imagine a person that just joined last year, how confused I am with all this. Because what is going on? Are we doing the challenge here?
Starting point is 00:28:26 Are we doing, do we doing too hot to handle here? Are we doing, what the hell is going on here? Like, I'm confused as much as you are. With the money aspect, I mean, who doesn't like money? But, like, I just would not have had it expected. I don't know what's going on. Do I enjoy the money aspect of it? Yeah, because one of my guys can win that money
Starting point is 00:28:47 and then, you know, we can have a little yacht party and I can be there, too, you know what I mean? No, but seriously, for me, I'm not a huge fan of it, Ashley. I'm going to be honest, I'm not a huge fan of it. I'm not saying I'm glad that we're getting to know more and it doesn't seem like you have to choose because that would be real bad. The more I know, the less I like, Ashley.
Starting point is 00:29:05 Wait, Ben, at least it's like they're still talking about the strength of a relationship. They're not talking about like choose love or money. Yeah, I don't actually, I don't know was, I truthfully, I was just on that season. I don't know what's going on. I paid that in a bad way or anything like that. And I talked to people after the season, too,
Starting point is 00:29:22 and I didn't really inquire about that. But, like, I'm so confused. Like, are we just doing challenges? Like, are we doing, like, tug-of-war type of things? Like, what, like, what's going on? Like, you know what I mean? Yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:29:34 Like, that's why I'm, like, because Spencer's going to kill it. Like, Spencer's is literally a stallion. The dude literally does, like, Spartan races for a living. Like, you know, who's going to compete with them? No one's coming there preparing that we're going to do challenges. I have no cardiovascular shape. Me neither.
Starting point is 00:29:54 So, like, I'd have been screwed. Yeah, I would have, I mean, you're walking in the swim race, right? So I appreciate you. You and I are one and the same. Wait, wait, wait, wait. Why did we use that of all? Why are we got to, why do you know I can't swim in a swim race? Like, why are we saying it?
Starting point is 00:30:09 Oh, I'm just saying that there'd be more cardiovascular. No, we're not going to chocolate versus vanilla. or anything like that again. Because I absolutely don't know how to smile. I'll be walking in that moment, too. That's the thing. Goodness, Ashley. Thank you.
Starting point is 00:30:24 You're so funny. Okay. I got to know about Dale. Dale did arrive when you were still there, right? Yeah. Was Dale's entrance as dramatic as it seemed on TV? And like, did the girls really regard him as such a prize? Because, like, in last week's episode, we're looking at it.
Starting point is 00:30:42 And I'm like, see, truth's color. Ben and I are so sassy towards Dale, like, my bad, sorry. But, like, I was very disappointed, but not surprised that Kat gave him the rose. I knew that she was going to want to give him one more chance. And I think she soon after giving him that rose really regretted that decision. He just seems so full of himself. Honestly, Ashley, he's not. I do think he maybe could have more empathy in the way she.
Starting point is 00:31:13 saw something. You know, I think he needs to maybe see it in a different lens. But when I met him, he was a solid dude. He was a good dude. He's more to himself. He's not the loudest person in the room. He's observant. He's not over there trying to cause scenes or anything like that. Like, he really is just trying to stay out the way. That's kind of how he moves. So you kind of just conversate with him. And so when he gets a known, he's not a bad guy at all. And yes, he wasn't. When he arrived, all the girls were damn near. I didn't know. if their jaws were going to be picked up from the floor or, you know what I mean? Everyone was like, because my jaw was on the floor, too, because I was like, he was walking up.
Starting point is 00:31:51 And I'm like, hold on. That's what I remember from you. I was like, that's what I thought. Okay, yeah, that you did react just like a girl did. And I love that. Yeah, I'm like, hold on. He came in. I'm like, damn, I'm like, damn, that's a handsome dude.
Starting point is 00:32:05 I ain't going to lie. He was six foot four or five with some green eyes, white skin, got curly here. I'm like, all right, man. Just don't pick anybody that. I'm looking to try to get to, please. Like, you know what I mean? That's all I'm being. Like, please don't think anybody that I want to get to know.
Starting point is 00:32:20 You know who I think is so cute, who would be like, who's most my type on the beach is Jonathan. I think he's so. You knew it. I knew it. Wait, why? New it. Jigs is the man. Jix is the man.
Starting point is 00:32:33 And also, also just based up your bubbly personality, I think it would be like, obviously you're a married woman. You're very happy and all that. We just want to make sure to put that out there. Yeah, yeah, totally. I might have great energy. You guys would be like a lot of fun. Like I'm already having a lot of fun on here. Look at that.
Starting point is 00:32:48 I have another bachelor bearing in a second life. No. So April, April gave him the rose this week. Yeah. And we know that that was because he needed to stick around. Do you have anything to tease with us and Jonathan? Yeah. Jix is going to do his thing and he's going to get to know the ladies to the best of his ability.
Starting point is 00:33:10 He's going out there. He's not just trying to match. with somebody and matched with somebody. I think he's really going in here. He's trying to find that woman. He's gotten to know everybody. He's talked to everybody. So whoever comes in, he's gonna try his best
Starting point is 00:33:23 to figure things out. Will it work or will it not work? I'm not sure. I can't tell you that, but like he's gonna do his thing for sure. He's gonna skip becoming a fiance and go straight to becoming a grandfather, I think is the path of confidence. Does April have kids?
Starting point is 00:33:38 I don't know, but that's dream she does. Let's dream she does. My boyfriend's professor is way too friendly, and now I'm seriously suspicious. Well, wait a minute, Sam, maybe her boyfriend's just looking for extra credit.
Starting point is 00:34:08 Now, hold up. Isn't that against school policy? That sounds totally inappropriate. Well, according to this person, this is her boyfriend's former professor, and they're the same age. And it's even more likely that they're cheating. He insists there's nothing between them. I mean, do you believe him? Well, he's certainly trying to get this person to believe him because he now wants them both to meet.
Starting point is 00:34:26 So, do we find out if this person's boyfriend really cheated with his professor or not? To hear the explosive finale, listen to the OK Storytime podcast on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. Hello, it's Daniel Fischel, writer Strong, and Wilfredale from PodMeets World. And we're bringing you Viva Las Content. That's right. We are back in Las Vegas, the city of sin, and giving the people what they want. A full week of Y2K content.
Starting point is 00:34:54 Wait, we're back in Vegas? Tell me why. Well, for the Backstreet Boys residency at Sphere, of course. We sat down with Kevin Richardson and A.J. McLean just minutes before they took the stage and our very own Wilfredel basically became the newest member of the band. Boy band, please. Plus, the man who has the longest running comedy show on the strip joins us and gets his props. It's carrot top, baby.
Starting point is 00:35:19 And finally, we all L-O-V-E-Hur, Ashley Simpson-Ross, joins us to talk about her upcoming sold-out Vegas residency. It's a full week of nostalgic interviews you don't want to miss. Listen to PodMeets World on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. December 29th. 1975, LaGuardia Airport. The holiday rush. Parents hauling luggage, kids gripping their new Christmas toys. Then, at 6.33 p.m., everything changed.
Starting point is 00:35:56 There's been a bombing at the TWA terminal. Apparently, the explosion actually impelled metal glass. The injured were being loaded into ambulances, just a chaotic, chaotic scene. In its wake, a new kind of enemy emerged, and it was here to stay. Terrorism. Law and Order Criminal Justice System is back. In Season 2, we're turning our focus to a threat that hides in plain sight. That's harder to predict and even harder to stop.
Starting point is 00:36:29 Listen to the new season of Law and Order Criminal Justice System on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Imagine that you're on an airplane and all of a sudden you hear this. Attention passengers, the pilot is having an emergency and we need someone, anyone, to land this plane. Think you could do it? It turns out that nearly 50% of men think that they could land the plane with the help of air traffic control. And they're saying like, okay, pull this, do this, pull that, turn this. It's just, I can do my eyes close.
Starting point is 00:37:08 I'm Manny. I'm Noah. This is Devon. And on our new show, No Such Thing, we get to the bottom of questions like these. Join us as we talk to the leading expert on overconfidence. Those who lack expertise lack the expertise they need to recognize that they lack expertise. And then, as we try the whole thing out for real. Wait, what?
Starting point is 00:37:30 Oh, that's the run right. I'm looking at this thing. Listen to No Such Thing on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. What would you do if one bad decision forced you to choose between a maximum security prison or the most brutal boot camp designed to be hell on earth? Unfortunately for Mark Lombardo, this was the choice he faced. He said, you are a number, a New York State number, and we own you. Shock incarceration, also known as boot camps, are short-term, highly regimented correctional programs
Starting point is 00:38:05 that mimic military basic training. These programs aimed to provide a shock of prison life, emphasizing strict discipline, physical training, hard labor, and rehabilitation programs. Mark had one chance to complete this program and had no idea of the hell awaiting him the next six months. The first night was so overwhelming, and you don't know who's next to you. And we didn't know what to expect in the morning. Nobody tells you anything. Listen to shock incarceration on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get to.
Starting point is 00:38:38 your podcasts. Hakeem, that is a question I would love to hear from you. Yeah. I mean, the Golden Show up, there was a lot of controversy coming into the season that the Golden's were going to be there. The show teased that there would be possibly some Youngens and some Golden's connecting. Would you have given any Golden a chance if you were on the beach? when they walked in not just in general would you have given any of a chance to possibly have a
Starting point is 00:39:13 connection let me give you my honest answer yeah I want your honest answer hell yeah oh you see how gorgeous Leslie is what are you kidding me I'm with you I met her she's beautiful are you kidding me I would if I would give them an act would they give me a chance you mean like what I think they would I think they would I think It would be so okay to give you a chance. Ludley, she's still with Prince. She's still with the Don. You know what I'm saying?
Starting point is 00:39:43 Like, we're not on her level. She is a baddie, bro. Like, when I, bro, bro, bro, bro, bro. I wish you were still around so bad. Oh, my God. I was going to say you are made for TV. You're made for reality TV. And you even had a cameo on the, um, the Secret Lives of Mormon Wives.
Starting point is 00:40:04 Which was a shock? Can you please come on that show at least so we can all watch. watch so I will oh so he's like oh secrets I'm not allowed to say yeah that's what I don't know if I'm not sure I'm not sure I might be it might be a cameo again and season three if they allow it if they allow anything because obviously I'm friends with them like on a real level so it's not about like me going how did that happen elaborate on your friendship like how do you have a connection to them yeah um so I think it was during It was during AFR for The Bachelorette.
Starting point is 00:40:42 They came, no, no, no, no, no. Let's back up. Men's tell all, they showed their preview. And this is, I have no clue who Taylor Frankie Paul is at this time. And I hear about swinging and this is a net on the show. And I'm like, yo, this is mad. I'm looking at it. I'm like, yo, this is going to be crazy.
Starting point is 00:40:59 And then I kind of showed my face throughout the whole entire trailer of that. And then they brought them in for the AFR. and then I sat next to Demi and Brett and then I sat next to Jen and Zach Affleck Anyhow, but yeah So I got to know Demi and Brett very well And I became like really close friends I'm like they're like my best friends
Starting point is 00:41:20 And then I met Jesse and Jordan through Demi as well So yeah me and her are very close to me and Jesse So they kind of just invited me to this Halloween party I'm thinking it's just a party we just turn it up You know we're going to turn up with some sodas Have fun And, you know, so I go to the Halloween party, then I, I, they're filming. So I'm like, all right.
Starting point is 00:41:41 So I'm signing an appearance waiver and all that and so forth. And then, yeah, so I didn't know if I, I didn't know if I was going to be able to, just with the behind the scenes type of thing, if I was able to be on there. So I didn't expect that. So I was kind of shocked myself when I saw myself on there. So, yeah. Man, you give, you bring me great joy. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:42:01 It's so funny. There's another way, and I, this is so. good. This is going to be great for our video, but you're so much more than what we're about to ask of you, but just as a human. But Ashley, I'm going to let you play the little game that IHeart has came up with for us to play with Akeem. I'm excited to watch it. She's better at this than I am. She always does this with our guest. She kind of does rapid fire, but our rapid fire is going to look a little different today with you. Ashley, can you explain what we're going to ask of him? Yeah, we're going to ask you.
Starting point is 00:42:36 some paradise scenarios. We're going to, like, kind of make them up. Yeah. And we want your honest facial reaction. And we're going to just have this go up on our socials, but also, you know, their listeners will also still be listening to this as well. All right.
Starting point is 00:42:49 So imagine you walk into your hotel room and you find two goldens making out on your bed. Two golds making out. Yeah, keep it going. Keep it going. Keep it going. Hell yeah. Hell yeah.
Starting point is 00:43:04 You're flirting. with a woman while hanging out on a lounge chair. And then the biggest lizard creeps over on top of your shoulder. Creeps over at the top of my shoulder. Probably will jump. I'm probably going to jump
Starting point is 00:43:20 a little bit. I'm probably going to remove myself. I'm going to be honest. I'll probably remove myself and then grab our hand and I'm like, let's chat somewhere else, you know? Yeah. Even if it was, even if it was Parisa? Or would you
Starting point is 00:43:35 We can swap seats. Okay. Okay. We can swap seats if she want to be next to the lizard, but we wouldn't, it wouldn't be for Lisa because Lisa is happily with Brian right now. Yeah, so we can, she's off limits. She's off limits. Clearly, she's on the show with her current.
Starting point is 00:43:49 Like, they're on, they're happy. Okay, well, they're on the show, happy right now. All right, and imagine you're getting some of advice from the bar, at the bar from Wells, but then he passes you a drink and it accidentally falls all over you. Wells, I'm like, oh, man. man, you good? Like, I'm gonna be like, oh, oh, can I get it? Let me get a napkin.
Starting point is 00:44:11 Wells, you know, Wells might just laugh at you type of shit. Like, he might just look at him and laugh. Oh, my bad. You know, so let me get a napkin real quick, you know? Hakim, have you seen on social media the, on the golf course, people are like taking a paperclip and they're paper clipping like a fake snake to somebody's like the back of their shorts? And then when they start walking, that snake follows them.
Starting point is 00:44:35 and then they start running, the snakes coming faster at them. Have you seen that? No, but that sounds hilarious, but also awful to the person who's getting that done to them. I think you'd be the perfect person to do it, too. Of course. Of course. Of course. I think that's what I'm thinking of right now.
Starting point is 00:44:52 Hakeem, we wish you the best. Final question for today. Your dating life, post-paradise, post-show, kind of where you stand today. What are you looking for? For anybody out there listening? or is it active right now? Yeah, I mean, it's active right now. I'm not a person that tries to force it, though.
Starting point is 00:45:10 I'm not a dating apps type of dude. I'm more of a guy who likes to meet somebody through somebody or I meet them kind of organically, meeting them at a grocery store, library, all those types of. Or if I meet somebody at the bar, I'll talk to them too. But I'm really just looking for somebody who would be a great mother of my kids. I think that's the most important thing for me is that they want to be a mother and they really want to be a good mother and take it very, very seriously.
Starting point is 00:45:35 So being a good role model for kids is something that is like a green flag and is a big, like, oh my God, she's going to be so maternal. She's going to be so nurturing to her kids. That's going to be like, oh, my God, for me. Another thing is just super caring and loving. I'm a very loving, w-type of dude. I'm emotional. So, like, I like that stuff.
Starting point is 00:45:53 So, like, if you love me, if you think I'm looking good, like, let me know. Tell me, I don't get tired of it. Like, if you want to kiss on me, you want to wear my clothes, you want to, I'll let me to hold you all day. I'll do it. Like, that's just kind of person I am. I love the love you to do that type of stuff.
Starting point is 00:46:08 And hopefully I just want somebody to be really family-oriented. Like family-oriented is super important to me because I'm super close to my family. And I just started rebuilding a relationship with my father. So if there's reasons why that she doesn't have a certain relationship with somebody, like it's always okay. You know what I mean? But like I really would love to see my woman who's hopefully my wife going to be very like incorporated with their family traditions. and not just farly remove himself as they remove himself from the home,
Starting point is 00:46:34 still be very involved. And, yeah, baby, very, like, very respectful to parents, because that's very important for me, too, because I don't want to have a friendly relationship only with my parents. I don't curse with my parents. It's just, it's a little uncomfortable for me because it's just, like, we have, like, a very, like, I don't know if it's a culture difference, but we have a very, like, fine level respect line from them.
Starting point is 00:46:53 So, like, I kind of just want that to always be there. Like, we always have, like, a loving, friendly relationship with our parents, but then we also have, like, a sign of respect for them as well, too. So she's out there. She's out there, Hakeem. That's so sweet, Hakeem. Hakeem, I need to ask you, though, did you ever pick up a girl at the library? I did.
Starting point is 00:47:13 I have picked up a girl at the library before, but not recently, not recently. Was this a college thing? This was a college thing. College thing, college. But I think you find great people anywhere, honestly. But I just try to not have it in the nightlife scene because we're not usually in the right frame of mind at that time. To be frankly honest with you, I'll speak for myself. I'm not usually in the right frame of mind if you see me outside.
Starting point is 00:47:35 You know, so I'm usually trying to get after it or I'm just chilling. That makes sense. It makes sense to me. Hakeem, we wish you you would have been there longer on Paradise, but since you weren't, I know there's somebody out there in this real world outside of the Bachelor in Paradise scenario for you. You got a cousin? I don't, man. Let me stop.
Starting point is 00:47:55 And no sisters, no cousins. I'm such a small little family I got. Hakeem, thanks for coming on. We'll be talking to you again soon, hopefully. Sounds good. Sounds good. It's so nice meeting you both. Thank you so much for having you. So nice meeting you too.
Starting point is 00:48:09 Bye, Akeem. This has been the almost famous podcast today we had Hakeem on from this last season of Bachelor in Paradise. And 100% of fan favorite. One of those people, if you listened to a few weeks ago, you heard to say some of our favorites have just come and gone way too quickly and way too early. He's one of those people that the show would have benefited from having on longer. and I think he could have found somebody really special if he was on longer. But, hey, it didn't work out. They really should have just been like, hey, would you like to take over as narrator?
Starting point is 00:48:40 I really just wish I would have seen him hit up Leslie. Like, he seems so confident in that answer and so excited about it. That, like, I really believe him when he says, no, I would have. And I'm like, goodness gracious, how did the show let you go? They missed out on that opportunity, too. Here's to be more production involvement. Keep these guys around. And the Hypocrates of the Almost Famous Podcast are back.
Starting point is 00:49:07 Hey, we'll be back next time.
