This is the Ben and Ashley I, almost famous podcast with IHeartRadio. This is the Almost Famous Podcast. It's a week of headlines in Bachelor Nation, and way too many of them.
Starting point is 00:02:58 include me, which I'm not comfortable with. I'm not used to. But I think we got three of them this week. That's got to be a record. Well, there's one that doesn't really count because it happened on our podcast. Oh, okay, fair. Yeah. But are you ready to start with your interrogation?
Starting point is 00:03:19 Yeah, you can start. Okay. So the first hot topic is just the weirdest thing. So over the weekend, Tom Pullman, who is like, higher up at iHeart we see him occasionally at i heart events he posted a picture of you lauren lane your you know your former ex-fiancee and her now husband chris lane and it was a series of pictures and um it was just really weird because it was like this is the night that chris lane met her his wife eight years ago and like very special it is and it wasn't actually
Starting point is 00:03:58 relatively maybe normal if he had poked fun at the fact that you're sandwiched between and that they met the third wheel while you and it's like he made fun of the fact that
Starting point is 00:04:13 that they met when you and her were still very much together but there was no mention of this so it's just awkward because you're just present in all the pictures and it's almost as if they're pretending that you don't exist
Starting point is 00:04:30 and you texted us right off the bat after seeing this and being like is this weird? Is it okay that I feel weird about this? And then it got weirder a few hours later. Can you tell us your initial feelings? Because this is Tom Pullman's Instagram and not a huge deal, you know? He has quite a few followers.
Starting point is 00:04:52 He does. He's a big deal at IHarr. He's a big deal. He's a big deal at IHart, but like he's not like a celebrity or even a D-list celebrity or reality star. Yeah, I mean, so Tom Pullman and I have always been very friendly and it's always been good to see them at these events. Yeah. I took it as, hey, this is, I feel weird about this, that he's posting this, because I thought it put Chris and Lauren
Starting point is 00:05:16 in a very awkward situation, right? Like these pictures I thought would feel weird to them and would feel weird to them. And as a result, I felt weird about that. I also just felt weird that there was pictures of Lauren and I together again. Like, I haven't seen a picture of Lauren I posted in a long time. Do you think that he remembers that you guys were together?
Starting point is 00:05:37 I don't because I don't think he's like a huge fan of the show. Like, I think he remembers it being a night that we were all at IHeart Fest. And he has documentation of Chris and Lauren meeting. And he's obviously still close with Chris because Chris is still putting out music with, you know, and going on I heart. And so I don't think Tom even understood the connection.
Starting point is 00:05:56 maybe of oh yeah and at this time Lauren and Benner were together like I just don't I don't think he was like computing that I think it was more documenting the fact that Chris and Lauren were meeting and he had it on you know with pictures yeah and did he was he the one I'm looking right now is he the one who posted a picture of them
Starting point is 00:06:15 reenacting their meeting yes yes okay so just this weekend the reason this came up was because this weekend was I heart country music festival and chris and lauren were there so he took another picture with them so he just kind of wanted to be like here they are married eight years later and then a couple hours later it got way weirder chris reposted tom's post and again doesn't mention you i mean and that's like
Starting point is 00:06:48 her husband now with and posting pictures of her ex-fiance that's like a gutsy move regardless let alone to not poke fun at it so what happened there well i i'm starting to get to feeling that you know i did not exist within this moment and i don't think i did that's what i told you i was like they're not trying to take shots at you they just fully ignored you because like i don't exist i'm not in the storyline yeah i wasn't even like a hurdle i was just like there as a spaceholder until they could, you know, meet each other and fall in love with each other. You know, initially I did, I texted the group, I was like, I feel weird about this. I don't even know how to feel about this.
Starting point is 00:07:34 It was one of those moments, Ashley, where you don't know how you're supposed to feel, honestly. And I've always had this kind of philosophy, especially over the last, you know, five years maybe as I've fallen in love myself and maybe mature. a little bit where it's been like I'm really glad that they met how they met like yes there was definitely pains involved and yes it wasn't like the easiest road to to watch somebody you cared about at some point in your life date somebody else like that happens was you know that would just happen in general after a breakup for anybody and then you get to the point we're like wait but it all worked out really beautifully like it just wasn't like perfectly pretty through the whole thing right and so I was like I don't know exactly how I'm supposed to feel about it and then I got to
Starting point is 00:08:21 text from Chris. Very nice. It's very nice of him. Yeah, he did it within minutes of posting it. Well, he did. And I think, you know, I don't know the mindset, 100% going into it, but I do know that he probably based on the comments
Starting point is 00:08:36 was like, hey, this might, Ben might feel like I'm taking a jab at him. And as I've mentioned before, I really like Chris. He's a great dude. We've gotten to golf together. I have nothing but respect for him. I'm so happy that, you know, he and Lauren found each other and they have a family together. Like, all that's so good.
Starting point is 00:08:50 And there's never been. this animosity and honestly there's never even been a weirdness because for me it's like hey I'm glad things are where they're at and I'm sure he's saying I'm glad things are where they're at like things are good I mentioned one thing sure when I saw this screenshot of your conversation with Chris and I saw that you guys had last texted on Wednesday and then it made a little bit more sense he's like oh okay well if they're chatting about golf every now and again he probably feels comfortable enough with ben but i i think that if i had to do it i would be like hey do you mind if no i don't know well i mean i i i don't think he has to ask me for
Starting point is 00:09:33 permission to how he uses his own proprietary media right i mean if i think the only thing there that would have been appropriate is after he saw the comments and kind of how i'm getting involved in the comments. I think he was probably like, hey, I just want to make sure Ben knows I'm not like taking a shot at him. And which is all I would ask. Because you did comment underneath the picture before he texted. Oh, I did it after. He did it after he texted. Yeah, I did it after he texted because I was like, hey, I want everybody out there to know this was my mindset when it came to making a comment on it. I want everybody to know that I can laugh at this because I think all three of us involved in this situation would admit, yes, this is weird, right? That's one. Like,
Starting point is 00:10:19 also, I want to make a comment on this to know that I fully support the two of them, you know, doing whatever they want to do in their lives publicly as a couple. Like, I have no problem that I'm in this picture with them as a couple and that I am definitely now, like, the fourth wheel when I initially thought I was very much involved in that picture. I am, you can now, you know, time will now show that I am definitely the fourth. wheel, third wheel, if anything, in that picture. And so it meant a lot that he texted me. It meant a lot that he cared enough to text me.
Starting point is 00:10:52 And I wanted to make a comment just so people knew that I am fully behind, you know, their love story, however it happened, whenever it happened. Yeah. Still felt weird about it, though. I mean, I still felt like very, like, I just didn't know how to feel, I guess, would be the best way to say it. I didn't know if I should comment. I didn't know if I should like the picture.
Starting point is 00:11:17 I didn't know if this was a shot of me until he texted me and said that. And what did you write in the comments, let everybody know? It was very funny. Yeah, I just said I had big, big plans for the two of them, like that I was setting this up at the beginning. A reference to the song, Big Big Plans that he wrote about Lauren. Yeah. Yeah, number one, huge hit, massive hit. And then I said, I knew I shouldn't let you two stand next for each other in that photo.
Starting point is 00:11:40 And I do remember that night very clearly, and I remember being like, hey, it's cool that Lauren's meeting Chris Lane. I know she's a fan of Chris Lane. I know she likes his music. This is cool, right? We get to do these kind of things at these events. This is awesome. And so I never thought anything of it until obviously the two of them, you know, find love together. I don't think at that time I really expected things to work out like they have. Yeah. Again, I want to be very clear. I am very glad things worked out the way they did, and I really think the two of them are a great match together, and they're very, you know, they have a beautiful family together. I just, I think the way I could explain this was, I was in one of those moments who was like,
Starting point is 00:12:26 I don't know how I should feel about this until he texts me, because I think initially I was like, is this a shot at me? Is it not a shot at me? Is this just more of like a random thing that's happening? And then when he texts me, I was like, this, he doesn't mean anything ill will by this. No, I never really thought I was ill will.
Starting point is 00:12:42 It's just like straight ignoring. Yeah, that's fine too. I can get ignored. That's a little awkward. Just to be like. Yeah. I mean, you know what? Like at the end of the day, at some point in my life, like, I will be ignored by most
Starting point is 00:12:57 people. And that's, I'm just getting used to it now. Like, this is a good prep for me to continue to just kind of get pushed into the background. And I'm just around. Like, you'll just see me in random picture and be like, who's that guy? Like, who's he? That's a testament of like how long.
Starting point is 00:13:10 long you have been around it's like it's been eight years so maybe we got into the point where it's like that's such far past history that like it is just kind of like oh this is what we met and like the fact that you're with this other guy isn't that big of a deal because you've been and he's harmless that poor guy look at it look at that big dude he's a harmless he's he's got no edge that guy's just there he's just happy he's just going along for the ride he's excited to meet me too yeah it was funny stuff it was wild Everybody is on good terms and there's no twisting to this story, you know, yes, comes across weird in some ways, but also we see the fun and we've laughed at it and it's been a good story for us. Yeah, I think it's, I think that's the way to say.
Starting point is 00:13:57 There's no twisting this. There's no behind the scenes like drama here. I will always, in fact, here's the thing. There has been many moments that I've been golfing with Chris where I'm like, I want to leverage this. like how you know what like this is a good moment like how do we get some attention because we're golfing together it's it there is there's nothing more to this than i think the night they first met finding the pictures of it um showing it and you know what based on what was happening at the time yes i was there i was very much there i was very much involved and i just happened to be there for
Starting point is 00:14:31 their first meeting and that's why i said i had big big plans with the two of you this was all a part of the big plan this was all a part of the setup i knew that if you know what she didn't find love on the show she would find love through our relationship yeah i'll take credit for that ben before we move on i just have one question you said that you weren't like feeling as if he was like a threat or anything you know but did you feel like any flirt flirty vibes between the two of them like was she smiling actually hard and like looking at him in the eyes a lot. Yeah. I don't even know if I was paying attention to the like the way they're communicating with each other. I do remember that night because it was one of my first I heart
Starting point is 00:15:16 fest and that was a big deal. And it was obviously a lot of fun because we kind of had the backstage pass. I remember meeting a lot of cool people. And I honestly, that's how I took it was we're meeting one more really cool person. And this person happens to be really nice because they're conversing a lot. You know, like they're talking and I'm talking to them too. Um, and I was also talking to Tom Pullman and so I was you know kind of within the mix I remember him being very nice
Starting point is 00:15:44 and then saying hey you guys should come to a show sometime and so if anything I just remember Chris being nice and more talkative than most you know people there because a lot of times like you meet these people and they kind of like pass you by
Starting point is 00:15:57 especially when you're like on reality television you know you're in the back room with them and they're like kind of give you a little high and walk past Chris was very friendly and maybe maybe that's all he was I don't know if there was any flirting or not
Starting point is 00:16:10 but I never did feel I never walked away from that vent being like hey you guys are gonna get married one day did he seem to be a bachelor fan because I remember yes he is yeah I thought so okay so he was I don't know if he still is
Starting point is 00:16:23 natural because he was fans of you guys so him to linger around a little bit would have been normal yeah he used to be I don't know if he still is or not but he used to be a bachelor fan yeah um yeah i mean it's it's mostly like you know what i really love actually to close this up i like when we can laugh and actually find humor in some of the hardest and most like confusing
Starting point is 00:16:51 moments of our lives because eight or seven years ago six years ago whenever that was like this like the breakup was a really big deal to me as you remember like it was a really hard season of life for me and I'm sure for her in a lot of ways too I don't but I don't know personally but for me speaking to me it was a really hard season of just asking a lot of questions and feeling like this whole thing wasn't worth it and wondering and questioning and now six years later you can look back and make fun of it and laugh at it and be like isn't it so great how these tough moments when when you're in them they feel like you're never going to get out of them and you feel like it's a cyclone of chaos and confusion and sadness and now you look back and you're like it all works out like it does and let's laugh at that
Starting point is 00:17:35 because if not what are we doing like let's giggle at the fact that yes they did me at iHeart fest and i'm in all those pictures i think it's hilarious i think it's funny and i think it's exactly how i don't want my life to be is a consistent like comedy reel of awkward moments that i just happen to find myself in totally and sometimes you even get like weirdly nostalgic towards the pain yeah you're like goodness that was a that was a season like that was crazy right overcame it and like you realize that everything is good but you know it's a funny story that my sister and i thought of i was telling her how you are going to come to dc in a month and how we're gonna we're gonna hang with my family and i was like well what's the last time you like hung out with ben and she's like
Starting point is 00:18:20 it's been a while she's like but i will always remember when you guys just started the podcast he was in L.A. doing press. Maybe you guys would record like a teaser, like a beginning podcast. And he took a nap on our couch. And she was like, I can't believe that Ben Higgins is taking you a nap on our couch. I was too. I take naps. I do.
Starting point is 00:18:41 Oh, that's hilarious. Isn't it funny how life moves on? I was like, wow. Wow, Ben is a celebrity. Yeah, looking at him out there snoring. You're like the cutest sleeper. I think that everybody out there. there can think of Ben sleeping and be like, yeah, that man would sleep real cute.
Starting point is 00:18:57 I just cuddle up in a little ball. Exactly. You do. You're like, you cuddle with yourself. I do. I like to. I can't wait. I can't wait to see your family.
Starting point is 00:19:06 And this is, yeah, so anybody that saw this post here is, like, you just laugh at it and love it and support Chris as he goes off and does more music and incredible things. That's the best part of this whole thing is that I'm really glad, as we did two years ago, we met at the Hilton Grand Vacations. and we're able to now have this friendship where he can text me and say, hey, man, this was not a shot at you. And I'm like, I get it. I get it.
Starting point is 00:19:32 It's totally cool. My boyfriend's professor is way too friendly and now I'm seriously suspicious. Oh, wait a minute, Sam. Maybe her boyfriend's just looking for extra credit. Well, Dakota, it's back to school week on the OK Storytime podcast. So we'll find out soon. This person writes, my boyfriend has been hanging out with his young professor a lot. He doesn't think it's a problem, but I don't trust her.
Starting point is 00:19:56 Now, he's insisting we get to know each other, but I just want her gone. Now, hold up. Isn't that against school policy? That sounds totally inappropriate. Well, according to this person, this is her boyfriend's former professor, and they're the same age. And it's even more likely that they're cheating. He insists there's nothing between them. I mean, do you believe him?
Starting point is 00:20:13 Well, he's certainly trying to get this person to believe him because he now wants them both to meet. So, do we find out if this person's boyfriend really cheated with his professor or not? To hear the explosive finale, listen to the OK. Listen to Family Secrets Season 12 on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. podcasts. There's another headline, Ashley, that we've been brought up in. If you haven't listened to the interview with Caitlin Bristow yet that we did, it's really very much worth listening to. Ashley, we're just going to kind of summarize, I guess, the interview based on this headline
Starting point is 00:24:14 just so people can go back and listen to it. But the headline says this, Caitlin Bristow and Ben Higgins were hurt. when X's said their Bachelor romances weren't real. Yeah, so we had Caitlin on last week for almost an hour. The episode is really interesting. We first had Caitlin on because Ben and Caitlin had some, like, fake beef that... I don't know if it was fake. I don't know if it was fake.
Starting point is 00:24:38 It was not fake in my world for a good 12 hours. It was, but it was not existing in Caitlin's heart. But, yes, there was some tension. there and again funny jokes you know we texted back and forth Ben was like Caitlin like I don't know you know am I feeling to you
Starting point is 00:24:59 blah blah blah she comes on they hash that out in the first 15 minutes but then they get to some very interesting stuff and that includes a interview or a podcast that Sean Booth did well with with Lorne Bushnell
Starting point is 00:25:14 now Lane over the summer and in this interview the two of them talk about like the legitimacy of the love that they felt between you and her and then Caitlin and John and in which Sean sort of makes it seem like Caitlin may have not been like one of the great loves of his life and both you guys admit that hearing them talk about hearing them downplay the love that you guys experienced was very hurtful. So if you guys want to hear you guys, hear them talk about this. Make sure to listen to the Caitlin Bristol episode of the podcast that came out last week. Yeah. I mean, I think Caitlin also is in this like very sensitive space right now, right? There's a lot of love things going on in her life. You mean the fact that we can say that Kat Strickler and Jason pretty much have the relationship confirmed not through a
Starting point is 00:26:13 hard launch on Instagram, but people is reporting that they are official couple today. Yeah, I mean, I think at this point, we'd be mistaken if we did not assume they are very much together. Yeah. And so I'm sure Caitlin's sensitive to a lot right now. Sensitive for real, but also not at all disturbed by him dating. No, goodness, not at all. Oh, goodness, not at all. You know?
Starting point is 00:26:38 Yes, I think she's very much moved on and past. I just think that, you know, no matter what, when you spend time with somebody, these wounds are still open at some level. And they kind of sting a bit, and you're just kind of processing it all. And so when, you know, when that happens and you know that your ex from the show also says, hey, it wasn't real, I'm sure you question it. Like, if you haven't found that true love since then, you're questioning, like, did it mean anything? Have I ever, has anything ever meant anything? And so Caitlin's in it.
Starting point is 00:27:12 And the good part about Caitlin in our interview is she's so vulnerable and honest about where she's feeling and how she's feeling. things and you'll just get to know I think Caitlin better and she is a a storm of emotions and she is reacting to those emotions consistently and that's why we love her because you always know where Caitlin's at on a good day and a bad day you know where she's at yep you know where she's at um another big headline this one this one's getting um difficult I would say this one's interesting Rachel Lindsay and Brian they're okay so we're going to inside look I guess is the best way to say this
Starting point is 00:27:56 into Rachel Lindsay and Brian's finances because he requested spouses support in divorce so that's public record it's starting it's out there for everybody to know now and so Ashley as this divorce announcement happened you know it was it's been a fairly like I would say amicable process so far this does start to feel like things especially some of the stuff written that you'll break down
Starting point is 00:28:27 that things aren't as maybe easy as what we've maybe seen publicly. Right. And they're still living together currently. That to me happens. It happens in these in divorces and breakups.
Starting point is 00:28:43 Like it's not uncommon. To me when I hear this, I feel for both of them because there's nothing that I would rather not do than live with the person that I've just
Starting point is 00:28:56 like ended things with. And that you're like going to court against. Like how do you do that? And I think they live in an apartment and so they're like, you can't hide. Yeah. So I'm going to read a lot of this verbatim since it is legal stuff.
Starting point is 00:29:10 I don't want to mess things up. So in May, court documents that were obtained by us weekly say that he requested an emergency spousal support, and the former Bachelorette was requested to cover at least $75,000 in legal fees. He claimed that she is using her marital funds to pay for her own legal funds, but refuses to let him access the money. Okay, what would be their marital funds? Would that be money that was made after they got married?
Starting point is 00:29:48 Yes. Because they don't have a pre-up. They don't, I mean, no, it doesn't sound like they have a pre-nup. Marital funds are the funds that would have been made after they got married. There is, you know, they both are entitled to that at some level. So she's using, like, probably a joint account to cover, he's accusing her of using a joint account to cover legal fees. Or just anything made. It doesn't have to be a joint account.
Starting point is 00:30:10 It's like anything made is up for discussion. in a divorce set of, you know. The quote is, I am informed and believe that Rachel has been using our community property monies to pay for her divorce lawyer and forensic account while refusing to give me access to any of the community property funds
Starting point is 00:30:29 to pay my divorce lawyer, my forensic account, or any of my personal expenses. Okay, you want to break that down, that sentence down? So basically, if she's using money that they have made post marriage he should be able to do the exact same yes all right and now now it does vary by state to state like each state has different laws and rules on who's entitled to
Starting point is 00:30:59 what and how much i think the outside of knowing the numbers and percentages here what we can assume is she's using money that was made post you know them getting married for these expenses, and somehow along the way, he is not able to get this money as well. Does she like have him locked out of the accounts, perhaps? Maybe he never had access. I don't know. Gotcha. Okay.
Starting point is 00:31:29 So then it says, I placed, this is, you know, from Brian. I placed my career as a chiropractor on hold twice to move for Rachel's career. These moves were detrimental to my chiropractic business, while Rachel's income and success, as a media personality has skyrocketed. It says there's some pulled quotes in here. Amidst Lindsay's success, they had an upper class marital standard of living as they dined at celebrity hotspots such as Nobu and Catch and traveled around the world with Brian noting that they frequently,
Starting point is 00:32:05 if not always, flew business class and stayed in the finest of hotels. It says that Brian now claims to make $1,300 per month, which is less than his reoccurring expenses. His reoccurring expenses, according to the document, says that he pays $6,500 in rent each month, $1,000 in restaurant meals,
Starting point is 00:32:31 $1,500 in groceries, and $2,500 in entertainment. And his, I don't know why they would throw this in here, but his wedding band is also, allegedly worth $1,000, and he's seeking financial assistance from Rachel to be able to relocate from their shared L.A. home. They are both still living together, but avoid each other. He also says that Rachel has put up security cameras to monitor his comings and goings without sharing the viewing credentials of these cameras. I want to move out of our family
Starting point is 00:33:09 residents as soon as possible, but maintaining our standard of living is not financially feasible at this time. It does so that they have previously lived in a luxury condominium in West Hollywood before buying a beautiful house in North Hollywood, which included them having a landscaper, a pool cleaner, and a housekeeper to maintain the property. Okay, yeah. So they've been living the life and totally go for it. I just ate leftovers by the way. But like I'm he's living on her 1,300 a month. Like if he were to just be clean of her, he'd be making 1,300 a month. So is he not? What is he doing? Like he's not he's not working. Yeah. I mean, there's a lot of things I could assume here. I don't know if any of it would be true or not. Okay. Well, now that we've gone through all
Starting point is 00:34:07 the quotes of the legal documents, you want to make your assumptions, allegedly, as what New Williams used to say on her talk show, and he was alleged. Allegedly, I think here's what happens in a divorce settlement, right? So he is probably able to quantify in a truthful way that he makes $1,300 a month. Now, what that doesn't meet, what we don't know about that is, right, he probably has an S-Corp, so he runs his own small business as a chiropractor. He's passing through, probably a lot of expenses through the S corp. So he might be bringing home at a profit, $1,300, but he's able to write off a lot of food, his gym memberships, probably any type of clothing that he wears, because he's wearing it at his place of employment. And so he is able
Starting point is 00:34:57 to write those expenses off and show that, yes, as a profit, as a source of income, I'm making $1,300 when he's, you know, probably doing a lot better than that, but he's just passing it through his business. So that's what I assume here is he's financially, his company is more successful than this, but it's just like anybody for tax purposes, right, you write off as much as you can and you cover it, you know, you put it through your business in a legal way. And then you don't pay taxes on the revenue necessarily because you're showing a massive amount of expenses. Does that make sense? It makes sense, but still to be netting. And you're saying that he's, that's what he's like profiting, making, making like after all of his expenses, which you're saying is including food and
Starting point is 00:35:45 I'm sure he can write off food. Like he can write off his lunches. He can probably write off most dinners because if he's going to dinner with a friend who's also a client of his, that's tax deductible. He can write that off because he's he's entertaining a client within that, within his business world. And so he, you know, I know a lot of millionaires, Ashley, who receive a negative income every year. So they're not paying taxes. You're way more aggressive. I can teach you that too. It just has to be offline. But yeah, so that's what I'm assuming is happening here. Also, when you are discussing finances, you are going to be overly dramatic when it comes to not only what you need to be spending, but also what you're making. And so you're trying,
Starting point is 00:36:36 you're trying to go as far on each level as lane as possible so that you can settle somewhere in the middle, which will be, um, which both will be satisfied with. I don't know if they'll actually be happy with it, but they'll be satisfied with it and feel like, okay, I won you won. It's a negotiation. So they're, at the start here, they're going to be overly dramatic with both sides of it. Um, I've always been curious how, uh, standard of living is an argument. within this because I feel like part of, you know, these big decisions, like getting a divorce is that your standard of living has to change. And so I don't know how the courts will view or how the courts view that, yes, your standard of living needs to say the same thing, same way.
Starting point is 00:37:15 Like you need to be going to catch and you need to be going to Nobu. I don't get that. $6,500 in rent. Didn't they say that they bought a house? Yeah. It must be mortgage. So the mortgage, like, yeah, you don't, you can live a very, very nice life without spending $6,500. Sure. So that's always a weird argument to me. I don't know why the courts even justify it or take that into consideration as standard of living, but they obviously do in the state of California where this divorce is
Starting point is 00:37:47 happening. And then finally, what we're reading there, like when it comes out into the wedding ring, they're literally just looking at all of his assets. And so they will, like, a forensic accountant will literally go in and see what kind of clothes he has and she has what kind of assets they have to their name and you will get in a sense your net worth from that and then they will start to then work backwards and so they're just looking at every asset you have down to your pins and your paper in your office and how much of it you have and how much value it has and that will be on this line item it's crazy it's a wildly
Starting point is 00:38:25 long process it's got to be really frustrating because you're not only doing that with that you're doing it with furniture you're doing it with like everything that you have under your name as a couple they will now have to value i know like this is really interesting for us to read right but it's very awkward for the couple to have this so weird and they're living together goodness gracious that seems so weird but yeah it says i mean i think for a lot of people it was shocking when they read that brian is making $1,300 a month uh there is more to that than what meets the eye. Not lying.
Starting point is 00:39:02 He's not lying. I'm just sure there's a lot of pass-through expenses. Or what if he's just not working? Because he says that like the moves were a big detriment on their. Maybe he's not. Maybe that's why I said this is all allegedly. I have no clue what I'm talking about right now. This is all allegedly.
Starting point is 00:39:16 He could not be working. That could be very possible. Yeah. It just I would assume he would. I always assume I guess that he would be working. We'll keep watching that. I mean, it just now it feels like. it's going to get messy. There's no way that
Starting point is 00:39:30 in the midst of a divorce, finances are an easy discussion, and it sounds like it's not going to need any easier. Can we just note for a second, though, that there's video cameras now up? Like, why yield? And she's tracking, he's coming and going. Like, why does that not? I have
Starting point is 00:39:46 no idea. I'd be like, I'd be like I just need to get out of this place. I'm living the life. I'm making the money. I'm sugar mama here. Like, I, that I don't care about where you're going. Yeah. I, I, I, I, I, they just both, one of them needs to get out of there. That's my suggestion here for them if this is almost good advice,
Starting point is 00:40:04 would be like, move out. They're not in an apartment, so they are in a house, which I guess really better. Probably easier. Probably easier. My boyfriend's professor is way too friendly, and now I'm seriously suspicious. Oh, wait a minute, Sam. Maybe her boyfriend's just looking for extra credit. Well, Dakota, it's back to school week on the OK Storytime podcast, so we'll find out soon.
Starting point is 00:40:27 This person writes, my boyfriend has been hanging out with his young professor a lot. He doesn't think it's a problem, but I don't trust her. Now, he's insisting we get to know each other, but I just want her gone. Now, hold up. Isn't that against school policy? That sounds totally inappropriate. Well, according to this person, this is her boyfriend's former professor, and they're the same age. And it's even more likely that they're cheating.
Starting point is 00:40:48 He insists there's nothing between them. I mean, do you believe him? Well, he's certainly trying to get this person to believe him because he now wants them both to meet. So, do we find out if this person's boyfriend, really cheated with his professor or not. Starting point is 00:43:29 as a part of the My Cultura Podcast Network available on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcast, or wherever you get your podcast. My name is Ed. Everyone say hello, Ed. Hello, Ed. I'm from a very rural background myself. My dad is a farmer,
Starting point is 00:43:43 and my mom is a cousin. So, like, it's not... What do you get when a true crime producer walks into a comedy club? I know it sounds like the start of a bad joke, but that really was my reality nine years ago. I just normally do straight stand-up, but this is a bit different. On stage stood a comedian with a story that no one expected to hear.
Starting point is 00:44:04 On 22nd of July 2015, a 23-year-old man had killed his family. And then he came to my house. So what do you get when a true crime producer walks into a comedy club? A new podcast called Wisecrack, where stand-up comedy and murder take center stage available now listen to wisecrack on the iHeart radio app apple podcasts or wherever you get your podcasts next headline is this the bachelor's daisy kent shows off new boyfriend thor an at tv ride this according to us weekly i got to see daisy this week she made appearance at Audre's for her charity. It was really nice. I chatted with her a little bit about
Starting point is 00:44:57 Thor and the fact that his name is Thor. Like how wild? Apparently, the name Thunder was actually on the list for his parents to name him and they compromise with Thor. So I think it's okay for us to say that they're very much dating now and she basically publicly out of the out of the two of them on her Instagram this week. She showed the two of them on an ATV ride room. She captioned the clip. She was on Sunday. They met in college at San Diego State University,
Starting point is 00:45:34 and they reconnected after she left the show. They studied abroad together with our producer, Hana. And what happened is he reached out to her first, and it's just been going really well. They've been traveling all over recently. including a trip with her family, it's Puerto Vallerta, and then a cabin in Utah. They also went to stage as you coach together.
Starting point is 00:45:56 And I remember her also posting, like, a handholding picture this week. Very sweet. Yes. Hannah, what do you know about Thor? Oh, goodness. I love Thor. I'm a big fan of Thor. I studied a brother.
Starting point is 00:46:10 He doesn't look like a Thor, like at all. He does not. Thor, to me, when I hear the name Thor is, like, this kind of big, scary guy. and he's like the nicest guy ever would not hurt a bee and he is like you they obviously when they started abroad like you could see the two of them being together like there's chemistry between the two of them yes they were dating when we all studied abroad and barcelona and they're very cute and i'm in full support of this relationship so so i guess our question to you is if it didn't work out before
Starting point is 00:46:46 and then he shows interest again after she's on the show where is there do you feel strong about the two of them or do you feel like she's kind of the guy that comes back into your life after she becomes famous and very much wanted by not only Joey but by lots of other men
Starting point is 00:47:04 that's such a question Ashley I just don't think that X's like X's are X's for a reason but I do know that it can work sometimes. So I'm hoping that it works for them and they get and they get to have this work out this time.
Starting point is 00:47:25 We'll see. I don't know. Hard to say. Thank you, Anna. Very happy. We appreciate your journalism. Horrible journalism. I love it. So we got Daisy and Thor together.
Starting point is 00:47:37 We also have another relationship to launch here at the Almost Famous podcast. Susan Knowles shares, is dating a man she met in marshals this if this isn't a golden bachelor story i don't know what is this is the best story ever relatable on so many levels but just yeah most perfect for the golden chapter susan has met a man at marshals and and it's a little depressing because that means that she can't be the next golden bachelorette she's and she's like basically even names herself, you know? I feel like
Starting point is 00:48:15 she would have loved to be the next school and bachelorette and she's remained perhaps most relevant of the whole team over there from that cast, but let's dive into this relationship. So, she's been on a few dates with a man
Starting point is 00:48:31 that she's met at Marshalls. He bought a new home and he was going to get some things that he needed and he asked to take a selfie. He's, um, I don't know how old Oh, he's, uh, I don't know how old he is, but she's, so she's 67. She says, I can't go grocery shopping without somebody recognizing me. And this is Philly, this city of brotherly love.
Starting point is 00:48:56 We, we all know everyone here. And, uh, that's, that's what we got right now. I mean, the fact that they met in Marshall is amazing. The fact that she's dating a man is amazing. Uh, she is awesome. She's a lot of fun. I'm very excited for her, and I'm sure she'll be talking about it more and more throughout the next couple months. But she's dating again, and here's the thing.
Starting point is 00:49:22 We've been around a bunch of the women from the Golden Bachelor over the last few months, and many of them have not started dating again. And so it's really great for me to hear that one of them is dating because it's kind of, I hope, going to be a waterfall effect, where now they all start to get back out there again because they all want to. That's the other thing. We want one to meet at a home goods. We want one to meet a guy at a T.J. Max. Another one at a Ross.
Starting point is 00:49:48 I would throw in Cracker Barrel. Cracker Barrel would be cool. That'd be fun. And who knows, maybe the 4 o'clock happy hour night at the clubhouse. That sounds cool too. Any way love can find love, even if it's at IHeart Fest. We're happy about it. We celebrate it here.
Starting point is 00:50:08 That's an almost famous podcast. We've got a full. circle moment. Right. Doesn't that special? That's been all the headlines we have for you today. Goodness gracious. There were some headlines. We'll be back next week with more almost famous podcasts. Some great episodes coming your way. Obviously, Caitlin Bristow's out there. Chris Soles.
