Hey, everybody's Bob Gennie here,
Starting point is 00:02:56 Almost Famous, the OGs, doing a breaking news episode. Taylor Frankie Paul, TFP. She's back in the news, everybody. And it's not pretty at all. Heather Mundy's joining me, our producer, an extraordinary reality expert. To be sure, Bob, I don't think she's left the news.
Starting point is 00:03:20 I think it's just been a line every couple of hours with this one. So I'm glad we're jumping on now to talk about this latest one because it is a big one. Yeah, and I got to say, I mean, part of me, part of me is perplexed on this. I'm reading the news. It was flashed all over the place today. Police investigating Mormon wife star Taylor Frankie. Paul on third allegation of domestic violence. Police in Utah said they're investigating an allegation of domestic violence from a 2024
Starting point is 00:03:48 incident that Dakota Mortensen made against Paul last month. So a lot of questions about this. First of all, when does it end? Right? I mean, at the end of the day, you know, they always say you can't trust a man with two first names. I don't if you ever heard that. But this really begs the question.
Starting point is 00:04:08 Can we trust anybody with three first names? because I think TFP is going off the rails on this. And I don't say that in a mean way. I say that more from a standpoint of, gosh, you got to be careful what you wish for, right? All of a sudden, you have this notoriety and, dare I say, fame. And, man, everything is coming out of the woodwork at this point. And I feel so bad for the kids.
Starting point is 00:04:33 I feel so bad for her children who are, you know, I mean, I don't know Taylor, Frankie Paul. I don't know her at all. I do know that I thought it was a risk for the franchise to take a step in this direction, but seemed like a calculated one, given the fact that they've been doing reality TV for so long. And to be in a situation now where you're like, oh my gosh, you know, like the franchise has just exploded or imploded, I guess is a better way to put it. Imploded in this poor, in this woman. And I say poor woman, but I realize, you know, I just, I feel for everybody involved in this.
Starting point is 00:05:08 It sounds terrible to say this because I always think there's three sides to every story, right? Her side, his side, and the truth. And somehow, some way, in the middle of this thing is the truth that these two people loved each other at one point. And I don't know what the relationship is now. It doesn't seem like they love each other anymore. But these poor children that are getting just like their mom is just getting destroyed. And, you know, they probably had to witness. I mean, we already know from the TMZ video that was leaked last week that,
Starting point is 00:05:38 one of the children at least was present or two of the children because one of them one of the children was upstairs throwing up and it was just like god these poor kids i mean when what do you think about all this i think you know obviously this is a third allegation that we are hearing about so we don't know again she's not been charged with anything or arrested for anything but um it's not a good sign to continually you know we're like less than a week uh from them pulling the plug on the show and another allegation coming forward. So I think we should dive into this because I think it is interesting what you pointed out to me about the timeline of everything. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:06:19 And of putting this all together because it says that officials are investigating allegations of a third domestic violence incident involving secret lives of Mormon wives stars Taylor Frankie Paul and Dakota Martinson. Police spokesman told NBC on Tuesday, Dakota contacted the West Jordan, Utah, police department last month with allegations of domestic violence against Taylor stemming from an incident in 2024. The spokesperson added that he could not provide further details citing that it was an open investigation. So we already know that there was the 2023 incident, which is the one that we've all seen the footage from, and that's the one she was arrested and charged that night. Now, she was also on probation for that 2023 incident. She was on probation while she was filming the show.
Starting point is 00:07:12 Yeah. The show knew she was on probation. I just want everybody to know that, that that was not a surprise. And we can go further into that that they knew she was on probation because they couldn't actually film outside of the U.S. Because she was. Interesting. So her filming, I believe the finale took place in St. Lucia, which is, I think, think part of a U.S. territory.
Starting point is 00:07:35 Territory. Yeah. So that's why there was no international travel for her season. Okay. I asked this question on this, like a 2024 incident. So, okay, the 2023 incident clearly was where all this originally was stemming from, right? The season was canceled based on the footage that we saw on TMZ and everywhere else. But to be clear, we all knew about this incident.
Starting point is 00:08:00 We knew about that. And they knew and the producers knew. Producers knew this was covered on her other show. It was in the very first episode. We already knew we have seen her. She has openly talked about this on numerous podcasts over the years. So it was not a secret at all. But the footage was the kicker because we had ever seen that.
Starting point is 00:08:21 And that is clearly what solidified there to be damning to yank it off. Now, we also know that there was something that happened last month in February, either the 23rd, 24th. it's a little muddled there, but we know that something happened between her and Dakota, which then led to the Mormon wives banding together and saying, we are not comfortable filming. So cameras are currently down on that show. Now Taylor still traveled to Los Angeles, attended the Academy Awards, had her special air, all before that situation was made known that Sunday night. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:09:00 So what it looks like is, whatever this 2024 incident was, my guess in reading this article would be that not only did Dakota talk to cops about whatever maybe happened on the 23rd, but he also said, oh, and there's something from 2024 I should tell you about. And allegedly, you know, maybe he went into detail then. Maybe he's been in communications with the cops, you know, in these last three weeks and has decided to bring this up. It definitely sounds like an evolving timeline of situation that we're following. I question a couple things. So, you know, the 2024 incident, like that being conversationally brought up. And I'm sure, you know, knowing what we now know of Taylor, he probably had his camera rolling or his
Starting point is 00:09:49 phone working at that point in time. But, you know, if she was on probation already and then, and that was from 2023 incident, my guess would be that that 2024 incident, if it were to have been brought up, was probably brought up about violating the probation, right? Or something of that nature. So already we've seen reports that whatever the incident was last month could be if it moves forward, because again, there's no arrest or anything has happened in whatever happened last month. Just know that the cops were called. That's the only like finite thing that we know. But that situation, yes, could be if it moves forward, would be a violation of her parole, which could then mean because her 2023 situation as part of the plea deal that she took,
Starting point is 00:10:38 she has to remain in good standing. I'm not a lawyer during her probation. Otherwise, the charges from 2023 will not be lessened. That was part of the deal. And she'll actually get a firmer sentence or, you know, a felony. attached to her for violating her parole and increased charges. But it does say here, it says the department is reviewing multiple videos connected to the alleged event to figure out details and timelines.
Starting point is 00:11:10 So I think we're not the only ones who are a little confused on the timeline. The spokesman said he could not share the exact dates of the 2024 incident. And police have only Dakota's account of the alleged 2024 incident. So we're definitely. going to be following this story as it keeps continuing to progress almost daily at this point. It's got to be so hard. I mean, think about this from a mental health perspective. And this is not joking at all, like not making light of this because I think it's very serious. To go from the height of your premiere, right? I mean, your show is preparing to premiere. And so you're doing this
Starting point is 00:11:52 press around it and you're excited and, you know, regardless of, you know, regardless of, you're, what the outcome was. It's going to be a huge moment in your life, in your family's life. And to go from that high to then the video being leaked and all these other things happening, I mean, I can't even, and now, you know, calling into question whether or not, I mean, I'm sure this stuff is being released in a way to create a custody situation that will be favorable for the individual releasing that video, right? I mean, I don't know the guy, but I can't imagine that it's being released in any other capacity. Well, we know he's been granted a restraining order from her,
Starting point is 00:12:34 and he has been granted temporary sole custody of their child. So she's not allowed to see their kid or have contact with him until they're hearing, which I believe is April 7th as of right now. Wow. So it is really taken a hard turn in the last. I mean, we're talking, you know, weak. And I agree with you that it is for anybody's mental health, that would be a lot. But she's really under, they both are, really under a microscope right now.
Starting point is 00:13:09 And in terms of public scrutiny and in terms of how fast the internet is moving, there's no way that they are not both facing an influx of really dangerous and kind of. of harmful messages to themselves, which is why, and again, I hate that we have to say this every single time we get on. Nobody is condoning acts of violence or saying that what she did was okay. Nobody is saying that. At the end of the day, we are saying that these are human beings. And as much as we don't condone what they did, we're not the judge and jury in the situation of anybody's life. And we just know that she is facing an influx of negative comments. And I think any of us know how that damaging that can be to somebody's mental health who already has shown signs personally on their accounts that they are really struggling. So I mean, we talked about this
Starting point is 00:14:12 yesterday on the show, but she's been still very active on social media. And a lot of us have to say that we don't think that that's a smart move and you're in a place, Taylor, where you can pass the phone off to somebody else. It's not doing you any favors to be on your phone. And if Dakota's on his phone, I'd say the same thing. Again, we don't condone anything that's happening volatile between them at all. It's just get off your phones. That's all we're saying.
Starting point is 00:14:46 Yeah. Yeah, focus on the things that need to be focused on. I mean, God, They're for the grace of God, right? It's like, you never know what it's like to live in someone else's shoes and to go through what they go through. And I really do try to hold back my judgment on things. But, man, when the kids are involved, it's like, come on, you guys. Like, at this point, you know, it's almost like, in my mind, and I know that I'm probably going to grief for this, but in my mind, I think whatever Dakota is trying to do, he's done it.
Starting point is 00:15:16 and now it's just piling on. And it's almost like, okay, there's enough out there. Let's just sit back and let it unfold. Whatever's going to happen is going to happen. But at the end of the day, it's like, this is still your child's mother, you know. And for her, you're going to be tied to for the rest of your life, whether your life hit or not. And for her, this is still your child's father. And it's like, you know, so it's like, get out of your own.
Starting point is 00:15:46 head space, not that they haven't, but it's like, put your, literally put your child first, like for one minute and be like, okay, you know what? I'm turning off social media. I'm getting out of this. I'm like, I don't know. I think, I'm trying to think what I would do in these situations, but it's just so far removed from my, my personal life that I don't know how I would handle it, but I got to believe I would pump the brakes on a lot of stuff. But I think that's a good point, Bob. It's so out of all of our personal lives. Anybody listen to, podcast, anybody that's even maybe had a stint on the show in the past. We are talking about another level that has probably not been reached in previous seasons.
Starting point is 00:16:27 We are talking about this is in the headlines on major publications every single day. Everywhere. This is one of the top stories in the country right now. And I hate to even say that because there's a lot of other really important things happening. Yeah. Yeah. But you guys have to understand. that this is a level of media scrutiny that nobody listening or that has been on this show can relate to maybe other than Chris Harrison.
Starting point is 00:16:58 Yeah, yeah, when he was going through his thing. Yeah. I mean, that's the level that we're talking about. Like, this is very, very large. And so none of us, we can all sit back and say what we would do or what we would not do. But none of us have been in this situation. Never know. You never know. And we never will. And so we don't know what's going on. But I really do hope that, you know, she has taken time in the past to prioritize her mental health and take breaks and step away here and there. I think she needs something more intensive. I think that whatever she's done in the past has given her some of the tools, but she needs to really just step away for a second.
Starting point is 00:17:41 I think that, you know, it's not admitting defeat by stepping away and prioritizing. It's actually, that's the best way probably that you can be the best mom and show up for your own is once you show up for yourself. So, and Dakota, I hope you get help too. You've clearly endured stuff. We've seen the footage. We understand that and we know that. And I think you need help as well. You need help on how to, you know, co-exam.
Starting point is 00:18:11 parent and deal with somebody that has done that to you physically and how to have a relationship with that person, how to co-parent with that person. So you need help as well because what we saw in that video footage was you being a victim of domestic violence and that's not okay. And you deserve to have somebody help you and work on your mental health to get through that situation as well. Yeah, no doubt. It's really well put. I mean, I think at the end of the day, it's one of those things where you look at it and it's just sort of like, my God, like, what are other two children? Like, does anyone know what's going on with the other two kids? Are they with her? Are they with their father? I believe they're with her father. We did see a report about her father
Starting point is 00:18:59 going to the Utah courthouse weirdly enough or not weirdly. Who knows? Wait, so the children are with her ex-husband, yeah, okay. So her ex-husband, weirdly enough, or maybe it was a plan thing, I don't know. Her ex-husband showed up at the courthouse the same day that Dakota showed up at the courthouse to file his motion for a restraining order and for temporary custody. And the paparazzi caught them, like, intersecting, like talking to each other at the courthouse, both men. So I think, you know, as much as we've come.
Starting point is 00:19:35 to see in this last week that there's a new headline every couple of hours, every day or something. I don't think that this story is going away anytime soon. I think what will make things go away is when you, like I said, step away. If you're out of spotlight and you're off working on yourself, there's not a whole lot people can say and do when you're not engaging and you're not helping to fan the flames. So that's why I think it's also a smart move to go away because this just keeps it's like it's snowballing. Yeah. Pouring gasoline on this fire.
Starting point is 00:20:10 Yeah. Getting ready for a game means being ready for anything. Like packing a spare stick. I like to be prepared. That's why I remember 988, Canada's suicide crisis helpline. It's good to know just in case. Anyone can call or text for free confidential support from a train responder anytime. 988 suicide crisis helpline is funded by the government in Canada.
Starting point is 00:20:42 Why hasn't a woman formerly participated in a Formula One race weekend in over a decade? Think about how many skills they have to develop at such a young age? What can we learn from all of the new F1 romance novels suddenly popping up every year? He still smelled of podium champagne and expensive friction. And how did a 2023 event called Wagageddon change the paddock forever? That day is just seared into my memory. I'm culture writer and F1 expert Lily Herman, and these are just a few of the questions I'm tackling on No Grip, a Formula One culture podcast that dives into the under-explored pockets of the sport.
Starting point is 00:21:25 In each episode, a different guest and I will go deeper into the wacky mishap, scandals, and sagas, both on the track and far away from it, that have made F1 a delightful, decadent dumpster fire for more than 75 years. Listen to No Grip on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. You know Roll Dahl. thought up Willie Wonka, Matilda, and the BFG. But did you know he was also a spy? Was this before he wrote his stories? It must have been.
Starting point is 00:21:55 Our new podcast series, The Secret World of Roll Doll, is a wild journey through the hidden chapters of his extraordinary, controversial life. His job was literally to seduce the wives of powerful Americans. What? And he was really good at it. You probably won't believe it either. Okay, I don't think that's true. I'm telling you.
Starting point is 00:22:12 I was a spy. Did you know Doll got cozy with the Roosevelt's? played poker with Harry Truman and had a long affair with a congresswoman. And then he took his talents to Hollywood, where he worked alongside Walt Disney and Alfred Hitchcock, before writing a hit James Bond film. How did this secret agent wind up as the most successful children's author ever? And what darkness from his covert past seeped into the stories we read as kids. The true story is stranger than anything he ever wrote.
Starting point is 00:22:39 Listen to the secret world of Roll Dahl on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. I'm Bailey Taylor and this is Iql. You may know me from my It Girl series I've done on the streets of New York over the years. Well, I've got good news. I am bringing those interviews and many more to this podcast. Yes, we will talk about the style and the success, but we are also talking about the pressure, the expectations, and the real work with the women's shaping culture right now.
Starting point is 00:23:09 As a woman in the industry, you're always underestimated. So you have to work extra hard and you have to push the narrative in a way that doesn't compromise who you are in your integrity. You know, I like to say I was kind of like a silent ninja. Each week, I have unfiltered conversations with female founders, creatives, and leaders to talk about ambition, visibility, and what it really takes to build something meaningful in the public eye. Because being an it girl isn't about the spotlight, it's about owning it. I think the negatives need to be discussed and they need to be told to people who maybe don't do this every day just so they know what's really going on. I feel like pulling the curtain back is important.
Starting point is 00:23:45 Listen to It Girl with Bailey Taylor on the Iheart radio app, Apple Podcasts, or Roll. wherever you get your podcasts. Marsh Madness is here, and if you're trying to keep up with everything happening on and off the court, we've got you covered on the podcast, flagrant and funny. You look at the top four number one seeds. What do you think UCLA is going to do? Break down that for me, my friend. I do think UCLA has a really good chance of getting back to the final four.
Starting point is 00:24:11 Obviously, Yukon is the overwhelming favorite in this tournament, but I'll be honest, I think people are kind of sleeping on Texas. Experts are suggesting that UCLA is the number one challenger to Yukon and that right after that would be Texas. SEC is so deep and so thinking just about everything. It really is annoying. So it's UCLA, Texas, South Carolina, LSU. Only ones that could possibly upset Yukon.
Starting point is 00:24:38 On Flagrant and Funny, we're giving our unfiltered takes on the biggest moments of the conversations everyone's having. So whether your bracket is busted or you just want the latest on the tournament, we got you. Listen to Flakron and Funny with Carrie Champion and Jamel. on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. Presented by Capital One, founding partner of IHeart Women's Sports. You know, with ABC choosing Bob not to use words like cancellation when they made the announcement,
Starting point is 00:25:13 a lot of people are speculating on the internet that we're still going to see this season at some point. What do you think about that? Do you think we'll ever see this season? I thought like everyone else, quite frankly, I thought, like everyone else, quite frankly, thought, you know what, they're going to take a step back. They're going to let this thing die down and then somehow, some way they're going to do it. But, you know, the more stuff that comes out, I think the more and more public sentiment is against that, right? I think one of the things that, you know, I've been reading and I can only imagine how it feels to read this,
Starting point is 00:25:46 but, you know, they're like, quit giving these people a platform, you know, is what people are saying. And, you know, I get it, right? It's like, well, you know, if you don't put a TV show on with them on it, then they're not famous anymore, right? Or whatever it might be. And so I understand the feeling behind that. You know, unfortunately, television is big business
Starting point is 00:26:07 as we both know. And I think if there were some type of medium for them to put that out and recoup some of their losses, they probably would. I just don't know what the timing. I don't know what the timing of that would be. But who knows? Maybe it's such a negative sentiment around it that they're realizing
Starting point is 00:26:23 they need to cut their losses and be like, you know what? We tried to deviate from what the show's always been about. And, you know, we thought we would do something a little bit different. We realize that that's not the recipe for our fans and for our, for our franchise. And, you know, we're going to go back to basics or something. I don't know. I don't know how they spin this. I'm sure there's a lot of crisis counselors and crisis, you know, public relations people out there that are already working on the different spins that we'll be hearing over the next weeks and months. But I don't know. I mean, honestly, would I watch it? I got to be honest. I don't know that I was going to watch
Starting point is 00:27:01 it previous to a lot of this. And that's just me being really honest. I liked the idea of, I've always liked the idea. Maybe it was because, you know, Trist and I kind of started this whole thing of being a rehash that, you know, the public likes and embraces and then you get a chance to find love yourself. And does it work? Does it not work? Whatever. But I think, you know, having someone who's already established notoriety and fame and another avenue and bringing them into this, you know, I think I think we dance with the devil a little bit and now we're getting burned, right? It's like if you go back to the basics of what got this franchise to where it is, it was always building up and lifting up from within, you know? And so, I mean, we see each other at events. We share these experiences that, you know, regardless of where you were in the ratings or where you were on your season or even how long ago it was or how current it was, we all kind of had this common thread that was really kind of a nice thing that we see at a lot of things that we do.
Starting point is 00:28:07 And now it's different. It's just different now. And can you put the genie back in the bottle? I don't know. You know, but we'll find out, I guess. But there's no denying that the show has been on a decline and that the audience wasn't tuning in. for what the show was known for. Correct.
Starting point is 00:28:25 Because we had seasons where people were finding love. Joey, Eddie and Zach, you know what I mean? And not in its heyday. And unfortunately, or fortunately, however you want to look at it, Mormon wives does numbers that Bachelor will not be able to hit ever in like, you know. And so it is, I understand why they did it. I think that they underestimated who their talent was. Because I think that when you come from within the Bachelor bubble,
Starting point is 00:29:04 it's a very controlled universe where you're able to really control who is in that position. And most of the time, that person doesn't have the legs until after they've had their experience on the show. You brought somebody in, and I'll say it again, I've said it before, she didn't need the show. No. Show needed her. And that's where the imbalance of power started. And I would bet money that somebody wasn't keeping her on a tight leash after filming was done. And I guarantee you that they keep them on a tight leash when they come from within the world.
Starting point is 00:29:49 They probably felt like they couldn't keep her out of leash because she's her own thing, right? Sure, but there's ways I think that you can, right? Like, I don't know the ins and outs. I don't work on that show. I don't work on her other show. But you can have talent people producers assigned to somebody who's constantly calling them, who's then giving those updates to executives daily, who having her meet with a therapist or a psychologist from the show.
Starting point is 00:30:19 on a regular basis, having, you know, encouraging her to implement hiring an assistant or saying, hey, how's the situation going with your co-parenting situation? Oh, it sounds like it's going rough. How can we as a company step in to help you because you're our talent and we want you to feel like you are being, you know, watched over? We want you in your best mental health when we start to send you out to do press for this big season. How can we help? Right? Because we know that they helped her when it came to childcare.
Starting point is 00:30:55 And it came to visiting her kids while filming. This is the stuff that I mean when people are like, well, can they do that? Yeah, they can. They do have the power to do that kind of stuff. They were able to do it when she was filming. You need to continue that kind of care with your talent in the interim before a show starts to air. And it costs money.
Starting point is 00:31:17 and it takes time and it takes energy. But they could have done that and I'm going to bet that they didn't. Yeah, just to get her to the finish line, right? Like, if nothing else. It gets everybody to the finish line. It gets everybody to the finish line, right? Again, it's like, could somebody be with her 24-7? No, I'm not saying that.
Starting point is 00:31:37 But it sounds like she was having some sort of volatile relationship with her ex-baby daddy and it seems to be that everybody knows it and the other show capitalizes on that for sure and nobody really I think did their due diligence into how bad is it between them oh somebody's got footage somebody's got laughter footage like yeah I feel like we're seeing and and you guys can all go find the NBC article that came out last week that has certain quotes from a meeting that was recorded with Mormon wives, cast members. Those quotes are not good. And that, you know, not enough was done. And people listening to this might be like, well, she's violent and why should we help her and why should we help? I'm not talking about helping her.
Starting point is 00:32:36 I'm talking about how do you get a show to see the light of day? You protect your product. And she's part of that brand. Yeah. I wonder how much, I wonder, I was going to say, I wonder how much she got paid to be the bachelor at because we, we obviously know having her, having the background that she had, she didn't do it for free. That's for sure. She didn't do it for free and I can bet that she didn't get the standard pay range at a typical person. Asked because what happens is, um, with a typical, contestant, they do not have the kind of following, and they definitely don't have the kind of following today, even post-show that of the ones from the heyday. Well, the contestants from the heyday, like we're talking to 2016, 2016 cast members. Those cast members have huge followings, but they only gained them after being on the show.
Starting point is 00:33:34 She actually has like five times that or something. Again, this goes back to the show needed her. She didn't need the show. Because that's built-in marketing for them when she uses her platforms to promote the show. So that's advertising for them, guys. That is like, that's her brand reaching. So that is part of her payment is that when she signs that contract is, yes, she's getting paid to shoot the show, but she's also getting paid to go out there and do media for the show.
Starting point is 00:34:08 She's paid to be posting for the show when clip stuff would go out. Like, that's all part of it. And they would have gotten stuff back from that that they can't get from a typical contestant. And then also probably the brand integrations. I'm sure brands that already worked with her either on her other show or work with her outside of the show were like, oh, you're going to be the bachelorette. We want to, we want to take this energy drink that you drink up and notch. And we want to go up a notch and we want to now do an integration on the show because it gets. Sinibon.
Starting point is 00:34:42 Sineban was doing a cross-marketing campaign between the two shows, right? And they were the first ones to pull out, which is kind of what started this whole thing. I mean, at the end of the day, part of me, also the jaded part of me, things that the advertisers not been pulling out or threatening to pull out, the show probably would have still aired. I mean, honestly. I feel like we still would have seen a hiatus. We still would have seen it go on hold for a second.
Starting point is 00:35:09 If advertisers didn't pull out, I think we still would have seen a pull. We're going to hold for a second while we see what's happening. Because the internet outrage from that video, again, not something they anticipated, just went so crazy. The newest tracks. Let's go. New music. And the next big thing.

I'm Bailey Taylor, and this is It Girl. You may know me from my It Girl series I've done on the streets of New York over the years.
Starting point is 00:38:14 Well, I've got good news. I am bringing those interviews and many more to this podcast. Yes, we will talk about the style and the success, but we are also talking about the pressure. the expectations and the real work with the women's shaping culture right now. Starting point is 00:38:49 because being an It Girl isn't about the spotlight, it's about owning it. Obviously, Yukon is the overwhelming favorite in this tournament. But I'll be honest, I think people are kind of sleeping on Texas. Experts are suggesting that UCLA is the number one challenger to Yukon and that right after that would be Texas. SEC is so deep and so thick and just about everything.
Starting point is 00:39:48 It really is annoying. So it's UCLA, Texas, South Carolina, LSU. Only ones that could possibly upset Yukon. On flagrant and funny, we're giving our unfiltered takes on the biggest moments the conversations everyone's having. So whether your bracket is busted or you just want the latest on the tournament, we got you. Listen to Flakron and Funny with Kerry Champion and Jamel Hill on the Iheart Radio app,

So back to this article, it says when Dakota first first, called the West Jordan spokesman said he told officials that he was referred to the West Jordan Police Department by the Draper Police Department because of the jurisdiction of the 2024 incident. Draper Police told NBC News that a separate open domestic violence investigation into Taylor and Dakota with allegations on both sides was called in on February 24th and February 25th. That's last month's incident that we're talking about.
Starting point is 00:40:52 Yeah. That police department declined to. share further details. Salt Lake County District Attorney Sam Gill said in a statement Tuesday that his office requested all the investigative material to screen the most recent allegations for charges and confirmed that his office was looking into a case submitted by Draper Police. Gil added in the statement, we made the request because of the potential that if charges are filed, they could be enhanced to a domestic violence offense. Court records indicate that Taylor pleaded guilty to an aggravated assault charge in August
Starting point is 00:41:29 2023 that stemmed from a 2023 domestic violence incident. That's the one we saw the video of. Four other charges in that case, including assault, criminal mischief, and domestic violence in the presence of a child were dismissed with prejudice, the record shows. So that was that plea deal that I talked about. Now, obviously, she's on probation for that. So if this situation from last month or this 24 situation. Man. Delight, that could be a violation of her probation, which could make those charges from the 2023 incident much larger.
Starting point is 00:42:04 So obviously there's a lot to process here. And like I said, we're going to keep covering this on the show. But any final thoughts about the franchise or where you think it goes from here? No. I mean, more so thoughts about these two and their children. Like I just, you know, like I said, they're for the grace of God, right? So it's like, you know, you watch people go through this stuff and you're like, oh, my God, this is appalling.
Starting point is 00:42:28 And then, but you don't know what got in there. You don't know, you know, you don't know anything. And so at the end of the day, I just, I feel for the kids and I feel for everybody involved. And I do. I mean, I don't know Taylor Frankie Paul, but I feel for her in that, you know, the, just the fact that she's going through these highs and lows with a family and with her family watching it all and her kids hearing it all. And it's just brutal. You know, and so I just, man, I just, I hope they, I hope they all get to somewhere that they can live together and cohabitate some space because they're going to have to do that with having children together. And absolutely.
Starting point is 00:43:09 And I think, you know, people love a comeback story. Yeah. They love a takedown story even more. And it's going to be rough here for a little bit. But like I said, we're going to be bringing you. guys all the news on this because it is evolving all the time. And so thanks, Bob, for jumping on. Thank you. I hope we get some other news to talk about, some other stuff to talk about that, you know, maybe some good news. Like maybe, all right, they were able to work things out and now
Starting point is 00:43:39 they're hunky dory, but we're still not going to watch it on TV for a while or something like that that just shows that there's progress going in a different direction than down the toilet, because that's all it feels like right now. Exactly. Yeah. It's a cloud, even for us, just reporting on it, all this negative stuff. But, you know, for sure, we're hoping to see some good news come out of this as well. Absolutely. Well, it was a pleasure talking with you. Likewise.
