Ready for a different take on Formula One?
look no further than No Grip,
a new podcast tackling the culture of motor racing's most coveted series.
Join me, Lily Herman, as we dive into the under-explored pockets of F-1,
including the story of the woman who last participated in a Formula One race weekend,
the recent uptick in F-1 romance novels,
and plenty of mishap scandals and sagas that have made Formula One
a delightful, decadent dumpster fire for more than 75 years.

I'm Bailey Taylor, and this is a lot of it.
It Girl. This podcast is all about
going deeper with the women's shaping culture
right now. Yes, we will talk about the
style and the success, but we are also
talking about the pressure, the expectations,
and the real work behind it all.
As a woman in the industry, you're
always underestimated, so you have to
work extra hard in a way that
doesn't compromise who you are in your integrity.
You know, I like to say I was kind of
like a silent ninja.

I'm Clayton Eckerd. In 2022, I was the lead of ABC's The Bachelor.
But here's the thing. Bachelor fans hated him.
If I could press a button and rewind it all I would.
That's when his life took a disturbing turn. A one-night stand would end in a courtroom.
The media is here. This case has gone viral.
The dating contract.
Agree to date me, but I'm also suing you.
This is unlike anything I've ever seen before.
I'm Stephanie Young.

In the middle of the night, Saskia awoke in a haze. Her husband, Mike, was on his laptop.
What was on his screen would change Saskia's life forever. I said, I need you to tell me
exactly what you're doing. And immediately, the mask came off. You're supposed to be safe.
That's your home. That's your husband.

This is the Ben and Ashley I, Almost Famous Podcasts with IHeart Radio.
Hi, everybody. It's Trista and Deanna. We are here with the Almost Famous OG podcast and here to talk about the breaking news that is shocking to say the least.
I actually texted Deanna and told her about what was happening.
And you were like, what?
You're kidding, right?
Or no, you're kidding.
I literally just driving down the five, Trista.
I was trying to do adult things when you texted me.
I was kind of shocked because you and I have already talked about this week.
We were supposed to go to the premiere on Sunday.
Yeah.
So we'll catch you all up, The Bachelorette.
If you haven't heard already, which it is all over everywhere,
has been canceled for the.
coming season. It was supposed to start
airing on Sunday and
ABC has
made a decision to cancel
this season.
Has never happened.
Honestly, this talk has
been happening since
the allegations came out about
kind of second domestic violence incident.
This just recently that has come out.
And
I felt like there was no
way they would
cancel it because they've just put too much energy, too much money. There's advertisers. There's
all kinds of back, you know, behind the scenes stuff that goes into making a television show.
So I thought for sure it wouldn't be canceled until the video came out. I was with you, Trista,
until I recorded with our producer Heather the other night. And her insight, even though you and I
know the industry well, her insight into that really helped me. And she was right. Once we started seeing
advertisers pull out.
At the end of the day, it's money.
It's money. And I personally
have such a hard time with that because I want to think,
oh, these people are my friends. The producers are my friends.
We've already filmed it. We've already put all this effort
and this money into it. But Heather was right.
Once you start seeing those things disappear,
it's a trickle effect because she pointed out
that it affects their other shows.
And she called it. She said,
so much will be told within the next 24 to 48 hours
if more advertisers pull out.
Yeah, I mean, and even Ryan, who doesn't watch the show, and his feed is not full of Bachelorette stuff like mine is.
He said, well, I just heard Cineban pulled advertising from the show.
And I'm like, I feel like that's probably a brand deal with her.
But yes, you're right.
I don't know if that was the only advertiser.
I think at this point, more advertisers have pulled.
And then Jimmy Fallon's show canceled her as a guest last night.
I actually heard that she didn't show or she didn't come.
So who knows, I assume they, you know, decided against having her on.
So yes, we are confirmed that Jimmy Fallon's show canceled her appearance last night with them.
And I just, as we said in our text, my heart just, I, my heart goes out to, first of all, the children involved in this relationship.
second of all, honestly, to her, because, and listen, I've seen the video, I, there is no getting around the fact that she threw a chair and there was a child present.
Trista, I'm sorry to interrupt you.
Specifically, this video was the one from two years ago.
This is not the most recent allegations.
Yes.
So this video is from
2003.
And I just,
I guess because
he was the one
who was taking the video,
okay? She of course
did not release this video.
There's no way she would have released this video
with The Bachelorette starting
on Sunday, right?
So the fact that the video
was released the week of
her premiere from
two or three years ago,
Well, let me tell you.
It's just really fishy and sketchy to me and does not.
It gives me the ick, you know what I mean?
Speaking from personal experience.
Yeah.
From a situation that I was involved in and there was video footage that was turned over to
police, the DA and the courts to look at.
So once that happens, the video can then be public knowledge once it reaches that part.
So I don't know her court case.
I won't pretend to be a lawyer.
I am not. I am speaking for my personal experience. If that happened, she was charged with domestic
violence. I'm sure the video was used as proof for that. Therefore, it can at any point in time
be dug up and put out for public knowledge. Like, to me, that's just gross and it's really,
really sad. So gross, yeah. I don't know that he had. Why wouldn't it had, why wouldn't they have
aired it before now? Do you know what I mean? Like, I just, the timing just is gross to me. It just is gross.
So how are you feeling with your personal experience?
You know what?
I'm okay.
I was,
you know,
when Heather and I recorded the other day
after you and I recorded a podcast,
I told her that I was,
I was all up in my feels about it
because it just brings up some personal issues for me.
And I think at the end of the day,
we're looking at a situation like,
this is this girl's life.
It is messy and it is dirty right now.
and my hope, what happens?
And I said this to Heather,
the rope has gotten long enough
and she is being yanked back to her knees
and I hope that she gets help.
I hope that he does too,
but so much is being published about her right now,
which I know feels really, really terrible.
But she gets a pivotal point right now
that she can,
she can have some humility, I hope,
some responsibility and seek help and seek help.
I haven't watched the video.
I can't bring myself to watch the video.
I don't really want to.
I don't want that to be the image that I'm stuck with.
But anybody given the toxic situation that she's in
and that she has grown up in and what she's experiencing now in this moment,
I hope that she chooses to seek some mental health for herself
and whatever that looks like if it's addiction,
if it's depression, if it's anger management,
no matter what it is, that's what I hope that she seeks in this moment.
If this has to be the bottom, then so be it.
I believe that that's what the Lord does.
He brings you to the bottom so that you can help be built up from there.
And she has a choice right now, a pivotal moment that she could seek help.

to talk about ambition, visibility, and what it really takes to build something meaningful
in the public eye.
Because being an it girl
isn't about the spotlight,
it's about owning it.
I think the negatives need to be discussed
and they need to be told
to people who maybe don't do this every day
just so they know what's really going on.
I feel like pulling the curtain back is important.

I'm going to read the article that TMZ put up.
out. It says, The Bachelorette canceled on it.
Exclusive, The Bachelorette Taylor Frankie Paul's season canceled. This was put out at 1240 p.m.
Today, TMZ has learned ABC is pulling the plug on Taylor Frankie Paul's season of the
Bachelorette amid fresh claims of domestic abuse and the 2003 video of her fighting with her
baby daddy. A Disney entertainment spokesperson tells us, quote, in light of the newly released video
just surfaced today, we have made the decision to not move forward with the new season of
The Bachelorette at this time, and our focus is on supporting the family. The network dropped
the hammer Thursday on the upcoming season of the reality TV dating show, only hours after
TMZ published video of Taylor's brutal 23 fight with Dakota Mortensen. A source connected to
The Bachelorette tells us no one at ABC had seen the video before TMZ posted it Thursday morning.
I'm I'm shocked to learn that this is the first time that they've seen the video because you and I both know that when you are the lead, I don't care if you're famous or not, when you are the lead, there is so much that goes in to double checking and triple checking and making sure that you are mentally ready, that you're physically ready, like they do sexual transmitted disease testing.
and like, I mean, the thing that you fill out, like for mental health and you speak to a psychologist,
like all of these things, I am shocked that if they knew that she went to jail for her domestic violence
incident back in 23.
And they didn't know about this video.
I'm shocked that they didn't know about this video.
I don't know if they did or not, but.
I think it's two things.
they either cut corners because they were so desperate to revive the show and get numbers because
at the end of the day, you and I both know that. That's what it's about making money. So they either
cut corners on that or they didn't care, Trista. They didn't care. You can watch the Mormon wives
on Hulu and you can see the mess unfold there. Yeah, yeah. They cared about numbers and hopefully
reviving a television show at all cost. That's what I think.
And that's sad because now we've watched somebody struggle with their mental health.
She's been really open about it.
I don't know if you've seen some of the,
some of the press events that she did this week.
She sounds really bad.
She sounds little.
Yes.
She sounds like puny.
She's showing up for something because she's being told to when she really needs to be at home
working on herself and her life and our kids and her own emotional well-being.
And she's contractually supposed to do these things.
And what?
Show up like she's got it all together.
Her life is falling apart.
before America.
We're seeing the headlines.
You know, like, it feels gross.
And that's what I'm most worried about is I hate the hatred.
I, we all know, you know, I didn't have social media.
You didn't have social media, but we had message boards.
And people come out of the woodwork and tell you to kill yourself and tell you that you're
a piece of trash and tell you like all the things.
And I cannot imagine the hate that she's getting and I don't like it.
I feel like she's got enough on her plate.
So I really hope that the people who are surrounding her,
that she does not have her phone and she cannot look at any of that stuff.
And she is not being told all of these things that I guarantee trolls are telling.
You know, I would have to say that when I was going through a difficult time,
I stayed off of social media.
I had to.
Every time I turned around, there was a new article posted.
there was a new link to something. Us Weekly drove my name into the Philippine ground for everything that happened. And it was really unhealthy for me to see those things. So I hope, I hope that she is aware with all. And if she doesn't, the people around her are telling to do so to just stay off of it, to just stay off of it. There's really nothing she can do right now to save face, not that she needs to, but her driving force needs to be her emotional well-being, her children. You know, I'm sure there's a legal issue here. So she probably needs to be really mum.
because anything that she says and does can be used against her in the court of law.
Social media plays a part in that.
So if she does get to have to go to court or convicted of anything,
they will use all of this.
They'll use her social media.
They'll use her posts.
They'll use anything and they'll use it against her.
Yeah.
So more of the article says, or the article goes on to say,
as we first reported, Taylor and Dakota have been ordered to undergo psych exams
amid a fresh batch of spasal abuse claims
and the Utah Division of Children and Family Services
is investigating ongoing allegations of violence between them.
So we know that child and family services are involved.
You and I talked about that the other day, though.
We knew that was going to happen because a child was involved.
Anytime police are called and a child is involved,
DCFS is called.
An open investigation is made because a child,
an underage child is involved in a situation like that.
So that's going to happen.
It's really, really scary,
but they're doing it to protect a child.
For sure, as they should, as they need to.
I just, I think that like you were saying,
there's definitely an ongoing investigation.
And I think that she can't speak about a lot of it.
He shouldn't be allowed to speak about any of it.
It's just, it drives me crazy.
I do not hold him in the high,
regard for what it seems like is a smear campaign against her currently because everything is coming
from him like pictures of his phone and how she called him, you know, however many times.
And, you know, all of that is coming from him.
And I just don't want.
And what you hope is that at this point they can act like adults, but it's going to become,
and hopefully not, right?
I can hope it's not.
But it's going to become a he said, she said.
That's the way this works.
And it's just, it's so unfortunate.
because the truth of the matter is is there's his side, her side, and then there's the truth.
And in any situation, especially with a traumatic one, like something like this, we all remember
things differently. We all remember things differently. In my own situation, I remember things
very differently than how they were told from other parties. So that's how it's going to be
for her too. And unfortunately, this is going to look like a really long road for her as well.
and I also question just the
what's going to happen to the Bachelor and the Bachelorette.
I don't see them surviving this.
I do know from what we were told
that this was a last ditch effort
to keep the show alive
and I don't know that they can survive this, Trista.
I'm wondering the same thing.
I'm just so sad.
Getting ready for a game means being ready for anything.
Like packing a spare stick.
I like.

and the search for accountability in a sea of lies. Listen to Love Trapped on the IHeart
Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. I was doing this with
the other night because I don't like endings. I don't like endings at all. And, you know,
I imagine you feel significantly more attached given your whole life has surrounded the show. You
were the first bachelorette. You have Ryan and your kids and this beautiful life. But, you know,
I said the same thing. 18 years ago, what a life this has created for me and my kids and
the longevity of it and being attached to it and the good memories that I have and the friends.
friendships and the bonds and look at what we did in November filming this special and how fun that
was for us all to be together. I'd have done it for free. You know what I mean? Like just being together
with you women and the bond that we have and for this to be for this to be done. Like it's sad.
I don't, you must feel stronger about it than I do. Maybe you haven't even thought what words to put
to it yet. It's like literally I'm just kind of like if that in this, listen, we're not saying that
that's the case, but because they're canceling that.
I have never done that before.
It doesn't look good.
It has been happy.
I know, I know, but no matter what has happened in anyone's life before it has happened
and obviously nothing has happened to this extent.
But just, oh gosh, it just breaks my heart because of all those connections and because of
the memories.
But it's also weird because we filmed the reunion.
we had that.
That was kind of like
if you...
And how happy that was.
If you look to the future,
if you look to the future
and you say,
and the show ended,
say after this,
you know,
we're never going to get it back.
And we go five years down the road.
And we're going to be saying,
well,
at least we got that reunion.
So I feel like that's weird
that the reunion was aired
before any of this came out.
And then Ryan and I are this week
on the cover of People magazine.
I saw that.
You freaking cutie pies.
So it's weird.
It's like all of these things are happening right before this season to like
culminate all the goodness and then it gets taken away.
So I feel like, you know, signs are pointing towards it not surviving this.
I'm going to hope that it does because it's just been such a blessing in my life.
But I feel like all signs are pointing in that direction.
I know. It's sad. Yeah. It's sad. And I think this is the thing about, you know, it's not even so much as like endings if we can prepare for them. So this feels like I've got lots of abandonment. I know. I've got, listen to Tristan. I've got lots of abandonment issues. You know what I mean? So it's the, it's the, like the surprise of it all. You know what I mean? We're not prepared for this. We were prepared for another season. We get to film a fun episode surrounding it and now here with the backlash of it all. But you know what?
At the end of the day, they took a chance.
They wanted to revive a show.
They took a chance making her The Bachelorette.
It backfired royally.
I feel like people were obviously very divided anyway.
They were like, yeah, this is going to do it.
I'm going to watch.
Or people were like, what were they thinking?
You can't save this.
You know what I mean?
But I think it's just the honestly the sticker shock of it all that like,
it's Thursday is the day of the week on.
Sunday, we're on a high with all of our videos, our fun times.
The show is starting one week later and four days later like that.
It's done.
They're pulling it.
And I hate to break it to you, but I think that this will be the end.
I don't know how they save face after this.
There have been several things that have changed the trajectory of the show, Flyce, Chris Harrison.
Yeah.
You know, all of that.
I don't know how they come back from this.
Yeah, who knows?
I mean, someone's going to have to be really, really, really creative.
But I think you're right.
I don't know that we're going to survive this.
And I mean, maybe they do The Bachelor and they get someone, I don't know.
I don't know.
I just have to hope that it's not the end because it has been such a positive force in my life.
So honestly, like I'm thinking about getting rid of my cable.
It's like over $200 a month.
You still have cable, Trista?
I do because my husband is a massive sports addict.
They have apps for that.
They have apps for that.
No, no, there's not, not in Denver when you want to watch the Colorado Avalanche until,
literally, until like recently they did not have an app where you could watch.
I promise you, we had to because we have to watch the Colorado Avalanche in this house.
I don't think I have had cable TV.
in 15 years. I am all for the streaming. I only have apps, HBO app, Hulu, Netflix,
all of the things. That's the same thing with my podcast. That's how I do. I'm part of,
I've become part of this culture that I am like, I'm small increments. I'm scrolling.
I'm doing all of these things. I'm reaching my, I'm fast forwarding through commercials.
But I do think that even if there isn't a space for it on ABC anymore, because this,
this season obviously didn't fit their mold of being, and you know this,
Trista, this feel-good television show.
Take a pretty girl.
Make her seem like she wants nothing but love
and happily ever after.
Put her on fancy dates with helicopters
that's not real life and then send her riding off
in the sunset and let's don't touch her again.
That was not going to happen with Taylor Frankie Paul.
No, no, no, no.
They were flipping a coin.
Right. They were flipping a coin,
hoping it was going to work.
And here it hasn't worked.
And that's sad, right?
Because I don't see the show surviving this,
but I do believe that if it's able to, I think that they can sell it to another streaming network
and tweak it a little bit because people do love the show.
They do love it.
For sure.
For sure.
It would need to be tweaked and it would need to be streamed.
There's no getting around it because network television is like they have legal requirements.
Like they are, I feel like they're bound more legally to producing stuff that they can actually air.
whereas the stuff that's streaming,
I don't think they have as many regulations.
I am not an expert.
I'm not a producer,
but I would assume that that's the case.
It's wild.
It's wild.
You know,
the story is changing.
It's still ongoing.
I mean,
you and I hopped on here
within a matter of seconds to talk about it
because it is that sticker shock,
Trista,
and I think that more will be revealed.
Yeah.
Thanks everybody for listening.
Who knows if this,
This will be one of the last times that we talk about The Bachelor or The Bachelorette, hopefully not.
But thanks for tuning in to the Almost Famous OG.

Ready for a different take on Formula One?
Look no further than No Grip, a new podcast tackling the culture of motor racing's most coveted series.
Join me, Lily Herman, as we dive into the under-explored pockets of F1, including the story of the woman who last participated in a Formula One race weekend,
the recent uptick in F1 romance novels and plenty of mishap scandals and sagas that have made Formula One a delightful, decadent dumpster fire for more than 75 years.

I'm Bailey Taylor, and this is It Girl.
This podcast is all about going deeper with the women's shaping culture right now.
Yes, we will talk about the style and the success, but we are also talking about the pressure, the expectations, and the real work behind it all.
As a woman in the industry, you're always underestimated.
So you have to work extra hard in a way that doesn't compromise who you are in your integrity.
You know, I like to say I was kind of like a silent ninja.

I said, I need you to tell me exactly what you're doing.
And immediately, the mask came off.
You're supposed to be safe.
That's your home.
That's your husband.
