Starting point is 00:00:00 This is an I-Heart podcast. My boyfriend's professor is way too friendly, and now I'm seriously suspicious. Wait a minute, Sam. Maybe her boyfriend's just looking for extra credit. Well, Dakota, luckily, it's back to school week on the OK Storytime podcast, so we'll find out soon. This person writes, my boyfriend's been hanging out with his young professor a lot. He doesn't think it's a problem, but I don't trust her. Now he's insisting we get to know each other, but I just want her gone.
Starting point is 00:00:25 Hold up. Isn't that against school policy? That seems inappropriate. Maybe find out how it ends by listening to the OK Storytime podcast and the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Hi, my name is Enya Umanzor. And I'm Drew Phillips. And we run a podcast called Emergency Intercom. If you're a crime junkie and you love crimes, we're not the podcast for you. But if you have unmedicated ADHD... Oh my God, perfect.

What would you do if one bad decision forced you to choose between a maximum security prison or the most brutal boot camp designed to be hell on earth?
Starting point is 00:01:17 Unfortunately for Mark Lombardo, this was the choice he faced. He said, you are a number, a New York State number, and we own you. Listen to shock incarceration on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Hi, I'm Jennifer Lopez, and in the new season of the Over Comfort Podcast, I'm even more honest, more vulnerable, and more real than ever. Am I ready to enter this new part of my life? Like, am I ready to be in a relationship?
Starting point is 00:01:50 Am I ready to have kids and to really just devote myself and my time? Join me for conversations about healing and growth, all from one of my favorite spaces, the kitchen. Listen to the new season of the Overcomber podcast on the IHeart radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. The Super Secret Bestie Club podcast season four is here. And we're locked in. That means more juicy chisement. Terrible love advice.
Starting point is 00:02:17 Evil spells to cast on your ex. No, no, no, no. We're not doing that this season. Oh. Well, this season, we're leveling up. Each episode will feature a special Bestie, and you're not going to want to miss it. My name is Curley. And I'm Maya.
Starting point is 00:02:30 Get in here! Listen to the Super Secret Bestie Club on the IHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. Ready and not? There's a famous quote that says, in order to get something that you've never had, you've got to do something that you've never done. You are here to prove you have something about you. I've been in situations where I freeze. When it's pink time, I'm toured out. I hope that this course will allow me to be the old carry.
Starting point is 00:03:07 I can't breathe. You have to be hungry. You have to be tough, and you must never give up. The devil on my shoulder is going, you can't do this. You're not meant to be here. You should go home. I'm just trying to believe in the angel that's telling me you can do it. This is the Almost Famous Podcast with IHartRadio.
Starting point is 00:03:28 Almost Famous. The OGs, Bob and Trista, with breaking news. This is crazy. Absolutely crazy. I just watched my lions whoop up and go to 9-1-1. I'm getting ready for bed. And all of a sudden, all of a sudden, my phone's blowing up about late breaking news, starring yours truly, Trista, Sutter, nay, Wren.
Starting point is 00:03:53 Trista, this is insanity. Honestly. Okay. So let's set the stage here. Trista, obviously, former professional dancer, the fairy godmother of the bachelor franchise. Trista comes along, shocking me all the time, constantly surprising me. This one, I would say, is probably the biggest of the surprises. May I just come out and say it?
Starting point is 00:04:17 You were cast on? It's out. It's out. It's out. Special forces, Fox. I mean, I don't know. Is that the official name? What is the official name?
Starting point is 00:04:28 Yeah, special forces, World's Day. toughest test is what it's called, and it's season three. I'm following in the footsteps of Hannah Brown, who was on the first season. This is Bachelor Nation people, obviously. Yeah, yeah. Who won. She did win it? She won the first season?
Starting point is 00:04:44 She won the first season with another woman, she's a soccer player. And then Tyler and Nick Viya. Neil, Nick, yeah. Duh. I was like, come to me, bring.
Starting point is 00:04:57 Tyler and Nick were on the second season from The Bachelor, they won. So I have very big shoes to fill, but I am on the next season of Special Forces, and I'm joined by fellow Bachelor Nation alumni Ali Fedatowski, or Ali Mano.
Starting point is 00:05:14 Wow. Allie Mano. So yeah, it was, we can get into it, but I'm here in L.A. to do press for the show with most of the contestants. I think
Starting point is 00:05:29 everybody but one person could be here at least from what I understand um so I'm really excited to see everybody tomorrow um it's a big day but of course wanted to give you the scoop first because you know it's it's our podcast so well man I'll tell you what the AF OG podcast just keeps on hitting we keep on bringing the hard hitting news I love this I got to be honest with you when I saw the concept of this show I was always like wow that is that is for some crazy people. I don't think I would ever do. It was more along the lines of the fact that it was just like, you know,
Starting point is 00:06:04 having a dude from a boot camp in my face barking up my tree, carrying boats through swamps and all sorts of craziness. I'm sure there's some things you can't tell me, like, where was it filmed and when and all that kind of stuff. But, you know, I'm so excited. I think I can talk about that. Oh, yeah, good. Let's talk about it.
Starting point is 00:06:22 I'm pretty sure I can say that. Yeah. Well, do you want me to back up all the way to the beginning and tell you like. Like how I go. Yeah. Absolutely. Okay. So it's really funny.
Starting point is 00:06:34 I actually posted this on my story the other day. And it makes me sad that I'm not talking to her right now just because she's part of this story. But Ashley, we were at the Golden Wedding. And I don't know if you saw my story, but we were at the Golden Wedding. And Ryan and I and the kids were standing next to Ashley and Jared. And we were just chatting, waiting to go inside. and she said, have you been asked to do special forces yet? And I said, no.
Starting point is 00:07:05 I mean, what? Like, are you kidding? And I mean, I don't know exactly what I said, but it was something to that effect. And she was like, I think you're going to be the next person from Bachelor Nation to be asked. And I was like, you're crazy. There is no way. first of all, they're going to want me, and second of all, that I would do that.
Starting point is 00:07:28 That is a crazy town show. And just, I, it's just, it's so up Ryan's alley. Right. No, that's just it, right? Yeah. Oh, my gosh. So up Ryan's alley. So not up my alley.
Starting point is 00:07:44 At least, you know, I thought until I got there. No, I'm just kidding. Sure, sure. So I, um, I just kind of, you know, blew it off. I was like, that's, that's so silly. And then this was months before I even got a courage to be on the show. So I work with Paul De Sisto and they contacted him and said they were interested in having me on the show. And I was, he goes, would you do special forces?
Starting point is 00:08:16 I probably have the text. Would you do special forces? And I said, guess what I said? I think your answer would be no, but Ryan. Ryan would. It wasn't just that. It was hell no. Oh my God. That is crazy. So I was like, don't you want my husband? Are you calling the wrong son are here?
Starting point is 00:08:39 Yeah. My name is Tristan. I'm a woman. I'm 52, 51 years old. Oh my gosh. Anyway, so told Ryan about it. and Max and my family and Ryan was like why wouldn't you like this would be an incredible experience for you and and I'm thinking to myself oh oh god like are you kidding um really you think this would be a good thing and then he did like flip my mind like yeah he he just made me really think about it And so I wrote Paul back and I said, hold up. Let me think about this. Let me actually like watch a couple shows.
Starting point is 00:09:31 Yeah. Really know what I'm getting into because I had seen, I think maybe one or two, but I hadn't really thought about me being on it, you know, from that perspective. I was just watching as like a viewer, right? And do they tell you at this point when they call you, do they say, and we're also talking to Allie Mano and we think the two of it would be a great team or Or is there none of that yet? No.
Starting point is 00:09:53 No, they don't share with you any other cast members until you get there. Okay. You're not supposed to know about anybody else. Yeah. So no, I had no idea who would be doing it. And let's see. So Ryan and I talked more, watched the shows. And he's like, I really do think that you should do this.
Starting point is 00:10:20 I think that you, you know, at this point in time, I was really struggling with what I'm, who I'm going to be when my kids go off to college. Like when we are empty nesters. That kind of empty nestor conversation. Yeah. It's crazy. Like I'm a stay at home mom, stay at home and work mom, I say. But I pour myself into our kids. And that's my, that's my primary job is.
Starting point is 00:10:50 household manager, stay-at-home mom, you know, all of that stuff. And I'm like, who am I going to be, truly? Who am I going to be? Who do I want to be when my kids are gone? And I really was like, you know what? I feel like this will give me such good perspective on what I want out of life who get back to the real me. Like not that I'm not the real me with my kids, but get back to who I am at my core, you know, who Trista is, not just Trista as the mom, Trista, the wife, Trista, the friend,
Starting point is 00:11:26 whatever, just. Well, I think there's something to this. Like, remember, and obviously I know it's a different stage in life, but when we talk with Joan from the Golden Bachelorette and she was like, I feel invisible and I got to see who I am again. And, you know, I realize this is a much different stage in life than, of course, where Joan is. But I think women, you know, certainly go through those passages in life because, like you said,
Starting point is 00:11:48 You've been pouring yourself into your kids for the last 18 years. And, you know, now all of a sudden it's going to be one of those things where, you know, who am I? Do I have the gumption I used to have? Do I have the, you know, I mean, wow, what a great way to find out. I'm so excited to watch this. Holy smokes. Well, and it's also like a once in a lifetime opportunity, you know, people.
Starting point is 00:12:10 I actually wanted also to go on the show because Ryan would have loved to be there. I actually, I'm going to talk to the Foxx. people tomorrow and put his name in the ring and I'm just going to put his name over and over because he would thrive in this environment. He wanted to be in the military and just he's colorblind. It's crazy. You know, he just, it never happened. My boyfriend's professor is way too friendly and now I'm seriously suspicious. Oh, wait a minute, Sam. Maybe her boyfriend's just looking for extra credit. Well, Dakota, it's Back to School Week on the OK Story Time podcast, so we'll find out soon.
Starting point is 00:12:50 This person writes, my boyfriend has been hanging out with his young professor a lot. He doesn't think it's a problem, but I don't trust her. Now, he's insisting we get to know each other, but I just want her gone. Now, hold up. Isn't that against school policy? That sounds totally inappropriate. Well, according to this person, this is her boyfriend's former professor, and they're the same age. And it's even more likely that they're cheating.
Starting point is 00:13:11 He insists there's nothing between them. I mean, do you believe him? Well, he's certainly trying to get this person to believe him because he now wants them both to meet. So, do we find out if this person's boyfriend really cheated with his professor or not? To hear the explosive finale, listen to the OK Storytime podcast on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. I don't write songs. God write songs. I take dictation. I didn't even know you've been a pastor for over 10 years. I think culture is any space that you live in that develops you. On a recent episode of Culture Raises Us
Starting point is 00:13:41 podcast, I sat down with Warren Campbell, Grammy winning producer, pastor, and music executive to talk about the beats, the business, and the legacy behind some of the biggest names in gospel, R&B, and hip-hop. This is like watching Michael Jackson talk about Thurley before it happened. Was there a particular moment where you realize just how instrumental music culture was to shaping all of our global ecosystem? I was eight years old, and the Motown 25 special came on. And all the great Motown artists, Marvin, Stevie Wonder, Temptations, Diana Raw.
Starting point is 00:14:13 From Mary Mary to Jennifer Hudson, we get into the song. soul of the music and the purpose that drives it. Listen to Culture raises us on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Imagine that you're on an airplane and all of a sudden you hear this. Attention passengers. The pilot is having an emergency and we need someone, anyone to land this plane. Think you could do it? It turns out that nearly 50% of men think that they could land the plane with the help of air traffic control. And they're saying like, Okay, pull this, and pull that, turn this. It's just, I can do it my eyes close.
Starting point is 00:14:49 I'm Mani. I'm Noah. This is Devin. And on our new show, no such thing, we get to the bottom of questions like these. Join us as we talk to the leading expert on overconfidence. Those who lack expertise lack the expertise they need to recognize that they lack expertise. And then, as we try the whole thing out for real. Wait, what?
Starting point is 00:15:12 Oh, that's the run right. I'm looking at this thing. See? Listen to No Such Thing on the I Heart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Hi, my name is Enya Humanzor. And I'm Drew Phillips. And we run a podcast called Emergency Intercom. If you're a crime junkie and you love crimes, we're not the podcast for you.
Starting point is 00:15:35 But if you have unmedicated ADHD... Oh my God, perfect. And want to hear people with mental illness, psychobabble. Yes, yes. Then Emergency Intercom is the podcast for you. Open your free IHeartRadio app. Search Emergency Intercom and listen now. Hi, I'm Janica Lopez and in the new season of the Overcomfit podcast,
Starting point is 00:15:56 I'm taking you on an exciting journey of self-reflection. Am I ready to enter this new part of my life? Like, am I ready to be in a relationship? Am I ready to have kids and to really just devote myself and my time? I wanted to be successful on my own, not just because of who my mom is. Like, I felt like I needed to be better or work twice as hard as she did. Join me for conversations about healing and growth. Life is freaking hard.
Starting point is 00:16:21 And growth doesn't happen in comfort. It happened in motion, even when you're hurting. All from one of my favorite spaces, The Kitchen. Honestly, these are going to come out so freaking amazing. Be a part of my new chapter and listen to the new season of the Overcumper podcast as part of the MyCultura podcast network on the IHHHHHH Heart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. Hey, you already got me secured for an invitation for the Golden Bachelorette wedding.
Starting point is 00:16:56 So just let him know if Ryan's in. I'll do it with him and we'll be roommates again. Just like when we were both vying for your love and attention back in the day. Oh my gosh. I would love it. So I just feel like, you know, I kind of wanted to do it for him. I wanted to make him and my kids proud of me. I want to show my kids that you can do anything that you put your mind to,
Starting point is 00:17:21 that you can do hard things and things that aren't necessarily in the path of who you think you're going to be, but be open to all opportunities in your life and don't just say, hell no. Right. Hell no. Yeah. Is there, I mean, obviously it is a reality. show. I know there's a lot of eyes on it. So I would imagine it's also, I mean, not that I can tell already that's not the motivator behind you doing it, but I'm sure there was a decent payday involved
Starting point is 00:17:50 as well. So it's like there's got to be some of that, you know, circulating like, okay, I could do this. The kids are getting ready to go to college. You know, you never know if you're ready for all that either. And, you know, I mean, was that a motivator at all? No, I feel like I just, I really wanted to be part of this opportunity. And you know what? Like I have a very, very strong respect for our military. Yeah. My dad was in the army. He was in Vietnam.
Starting point is 00:18:18 My grandfather fought in World War II. He was a pilot. My father-in-law was in the Navy. Like, I have people in my life that I have Navy SEALs as friends. You know, I know a lot of people who are in the military and respect them and all the people that I don't know who have been in the military. and I really wanted to learn just get a little teeny tiny piece of information, knowledge, wisdom
Starting point is 00:18:50 of what they go through. You know, like I, being part of the show is like, you know, squeezed, like basic training, I think is months and months and months, right? This was 10 days. So, yeah, you... Can I ask you this, though? Was it the 10?
Starting point is 00:19:09 physically and mentally hardest days of your last couple decades of your life. I mean, because it looks like it tests you to your core. Like when I watch that show, I'm just like, I am a nervous ball of energy watching it because I feel like I'm going to throw up. I feel like I'm so stressed out. Were you feeling that way?
Starting point is 00:19:26 Like I would think it's even getting outfitted for the clothes before the whole thing would have me ready to break down in tears. I'd be a mess. You know what? Like I, before, yes, I was a mess. I listen to podcasts.
Starting point is 00:19:41 I read books. I tried to get myself mentally prepared. I talked to my friend who is a Navy SEAL. He is like a, he's like in charge. I don't know. I don't know what his title is or whatever. But he's very well respected in the Navy SEAL community. And I just wanted to say like, what advice would you give?
Starting point is 00:20:06 I did also talk to, gosh, you do, like, you go through all of these medical, like, testing, psychological testing, whatever. And before we started, I talked to the doctor on staff and he said, he gave me this quote that you want to be, oh gosh, what was it, naive enough to start and stubborn enough to finish. Oh, wow, that's awesome. Right? And I was like, I am really stubborn. Yeah. So I'm really hopeful.
Starting point is 00:20:50 But no, you know, I ended up telling Paul, obviously, that I wanted to do it. And I did have to get through some medical drama. because I have had, I've had back surgery. I had a fusion, a lumbar fusion. And at first they weren't going to clear me after hearing about that because of some of the activities that you saw in the promo that I got pushed off of a boat. Yeah. Into like open water. And they were, I think they were worried that that would cause issues with my back.
Starting point is 00:21:28 But, like, I talked to doctors who were, you know, who had worked with, worked with me on my pain management after my surgery. I've been great after my fusion. I've been awesome. Like, I feel, I've always said, like, I wish I would have done my surgery sooner. So had it been, like, 10 years ago, whenever, you know, before my surgery, then, yeah, I would have been like, there's no way I can do this show. But I was like, please just keep. give me the chance to like, you know, try it. And if I feel at any point that the risk is not worth it, then I will VW, which is
Starting point is 00:22:07 voluntarily withdrawal. Yeah. And that's the beauty of this show. It's not a competition show where you are competing against other people. I mean, kind of you are in a way just because I wanted to be like, you know, as good as other people and I didn't want to be a burden and that kind of thing. But it really is truly an individually challenging show. You're just, it's you against you.
Starting point is 00:22:35 Yeah. That's it. How far you've come from day one to day 10, right? It's like, I would imagine that's a big part of it. Yeah. That's it. So I really wanted to challenge myself and get out of kind of the rut. And not that I'm in a rut.
Starting point is 00:22:50 Like I'm really happy. We have a happy life. The kids are great. Ryan's great. Like, we're great. All of that. It wasn't like a rut in terms of my relationship. It was more of a rut of like, who am I and who am I going to be when my kids leave?
Starting point is 00:23:04 And what do I want to teach them at this point in my life and through this opportunity? Go for it. Let's talk a little about that too. Like, so, you know, we had some drama earlier in the year that was kind of stirred up, you know, social media style. And it was really, you know, and I'm starting to connect the dots in my head right now, timeline. Right. So it was really right around that time that I'm sure you were either already out the door or whatever you might have been doing. Let us know. I mean, I obviously know you and Ryan are fine. But I remember some people were like speculating. Like, oh my God, it's the end of, you know, it's the end of Tristan Ryan. This must be what's going on. And it was based off of a very heartfelt, very emotionally, you know, charged post from Ryan. He was like, I love you so much. And I just. I don't know what to do without you here right now. It's like, you know, and so people were like, what the hell's going on?
Starting point is 00:24:03 You know? Yeah. So tell us a little about that. So he posted, I went back to it on May 17th, and I was filming. I was filming then. So I didn't see this post when it came through. I was like, they take your phones away. You know, you're invested in the show.
Starting point is 00:24:21 You know, you're there to film. Yeah. And to, you know, do what they need you to do. You're not on your phone. So, you know, part of the. of it was he started it with I really wish I could talk to you, ask you how you're doing, how was your day? I'd really like to hear your voice just for a minute. So many times I've called without much to say, not realizing how lucky I was or how much I'd miss the opportunity if
Starting point is 00:24:41 you were gone. I want you to know how you're doing. I want to support and encourage and cheer you on. I want to be there for you, but I can't and that's okay because I know you need this time, time to discover yourself again. So I'll be here for you instead. I'll be here for you when you get back. I'll be here to listen to you, to smile with you, maybe cry with you. I'll be here to love you. I'll be here forever. Even the dude's Instagram post, it's just like when we were on the show together. It's like Edgar Allan Poe wrote that. Like, I mean, what the hell is that? It's like poetry. You know what I mean? This guy. I mean, he blows my mind all the time. But yeah, that is a gorgeous text. And I, you know. He's a great writer.
Starting point is 00:25:25 My boyfriend's professor is way too friendly, and now I'm seriously suspicious. Well, wait a minute, Sam, maybe her boyfriend's just looking for extra credit. Well, Dakota, it's back to school week on the OK Storytime podcast, so we'll find out soon. This person writes, my boyfriend has been hanging out with his young professor a lot. He doesn't think it's a problem, but I don't trust her. Now, he's insisting we get to know each other, but I just want her gone. Now, hold up. Isn't that against school policy? That sounds totally inappropriate. Well, according to this person, this is her boyfriend's former professor, and they're the same.
Starting point is 00:25:55 age. And it's even more likely that they're cheating. He insists there's nothing between them. I mean, do you believe him? Well, he's certainly trying to get this person to believe him because he now wants them both to meet. So, do we find out if this person's boyfriend really cheated with his professor or not? It turns out that nearly 50% of men think that they could land the plane with the help of air traffic control. And they're saying like, okay, pull this, until this. Do this, pull that, turn this. But, you know, that gives so much perspective, right? Like, you know, now that you know why he was writing it, it makes total sense. And he wasn't trying to be dramatic. He was literally just like, I've always said this, screaming it from the rooftops. Like, we have this opportunity to like share with people while we're sharing it with the world, you know, share with each other while we're sharing it with the world, what we're feeling with social media. And that's all he was doing.
Starting point is 00:30:12 and it caused this humongous uproar I just posted again and said, holy crap, like everyone thought I was either having a nervous breakdown that we were getting a divorce or a trial separation. I was dead. What were the other things? I don't know, but everyone lost their mind. It was a lot.
Starting point is 00:30:32 I remember going, oh, my God. And then I remember you and I talking when you first got back kind of touching on it, and we even talked about it on the podcast. And I remember, you know, I don't know what, it was but I even felt like I needed to say something because I think I said something like well I knew you were going to be you know I met like unavailable for a podcast for one week or something I forget what I said and even then I was like oh no I just get her in trouble by saying that I knew that she was going to be gone you know I remember feeling like there was I knew
Starting point is 00:31:00 there was something going on you know just from what I just said I was like out of pocket like couldn't do anything yeah um yeah so and I think I know we talked about it on a podcast so I don't know if you guys can pull it up but or like see what we said but essentially i remember saying yeah we're we're good everything's good i just i just was out of pocket you know yeah you are really good see i'm i'm really bad at that i'd be like i was out of pocket for a special thing that was forcefully my decision that was forced i mean i'm the worst i can't keep anything to myself and i let's just say I feel like Chuck Norris I don't even know what I would have said
Starting point is 00:31:48 but I'm sure the whole world would have figured it on about 30 seconds if I would have done the damn thing I'm so proud of you what a what a huge undertaking and and I mean and yeah to a certain degree I guess what a what a daring and very you know
Starting point is 00:32:04 knowing how much you respect the military as do I mean my father was a Marine and I and I would I would love to go through something like that. But part of me is like almost afraid now because of the fact that all the Bachelor Nation folks keep winning it, I'd probably be the one that would show up. I know.
Starting point is 00:32:19 Yeah, just like when they asked me to be the bachelor's, I'm like, I probably shouldn't because it shows going to get canceled. Well, you know, that clearly didn't happen. I know. But yeah. Pressure. The pressure. A lot of pressure.
Starting point is 00:32:29 Yeah. Yeah, there was a lot. Although there wasn't really pressure. You know what? I feel like it's similar to when people talk about the pressure of staying together. if you're from The Bachelor and you've been successful. I'm like, really, no, there's no pressure. Like, yeah, these people were on the show prior to me and Ali doing it.
Starting point is 00:32:49 But it was my, it was my path. Yeah. You know, it was me against me. So with you to be partnered up, and I'm sure we'll talk with her eventually as well about her experience, but with you two of you partnering up, did you find that you had more in common? because I mean, we've, we've kind of, you know, I remember when we did our shoot many years ago together and it was like, you know, the Bachelor and Bachelorette favorites or whatever.
Starting point is 00:33:17 And it was Andrew Firestone myself and you and Allie and, I can't remember, Emily, yeah, and it was awesome. Yeah, and Andrew Firestone, of course. And we had such a great day that day, but I don't really see Allie ever, you know. And so I was curious, did you guys have like this opportunity to reconnect and like, is it, you know, Was it one of those experiences where you found out you got way more in common than just having a TV show together? You got the same grit and the same paint. I mean, I'm just so curious right now.
Starting point is 00:33:48 I mean, honestly, like, you think that you're going to be with these people, like, all the time, right? You are. But you're really, like, when you're in doing a, like, a challenge or a task or, you know, a drill, whatever you want to call it. you're not really like bonding. You're not like chatting about like life, right? You're talking about you're looking up at this bridge and saying, holy shit. How am I supposed to get up there?
Starting point is 00:34:26 Right. Oh my God. What? Like, and all you're talking about is how to survive that, you know, or what are the tips from the people who have gone before you or whatever. Yeah. So you're not really talking, like, in depth unless. So you do ride, so you ride from, like, task to task.
Starting point is 00:34:48 Like the first day, we were on that boat where I got pushed off of the boat. Yeah, yeah. And everyone, you know, was on the boat. And you do the task that you do once you get off the boat. You swim and, you know, whatever. once you're done with that you run to the like jeeps or the transportation vehicles and four of you are in a car okay so or a jeep or whatever and it's just all random really so who gets to the jeep first second third whatever you get in one whatever it's completely
Starting point is 00:35:25 random and and those were the moments where you would bond with people because there would be like you'd be in the car for an hour, two hours with someone and you're in a little tiny, you know, the back of a Jeep. And it is like you're facing each other, you know. But those were the moments that you really bonded. And Ali and I were never in a car together, in a Jeep together.
Starting point is 00:35:49 Okay. So, yeah, the people that I ended up being in the jeeps with, I, there were some of my favorite moments that I'll never, like yeah um i mean i was like talking to golden tate about pickleball like golden and cam newton about pickleball like it was first of all the fact that they are both on this show and they are guys that i actually know personally as well i am so oh yeah i know golden golden and i play golf together a bunch cam newton and i have known each other for a very long time yeah it's crazy i can't wait to tell them well yeah we'll for sure have them on
Starting point is 00:36:32 on the podcast to chat. But I love that you know them. They are. I don't talk to Canada a long time, but Golden, I just played with him two years ago, a year and a half ago in a tournament. Yeah. Yeah. I love them.
Starting point is 00:36:47 They are, they were two of my surprises coming out of this. Yeah. That two people that I truly just admire, look up to, I mean, literally. early and figuratively. Yeah. Yeah, no doubt. And they're both tall drinks of water, I think. You know, it's like, golly.
Starting point is 00:37:09 Well, you can for sure. Yeah. But no, I absolutely adore both of them. So that was a fun surprise. It's like, I really was looking forward to, you know, when you do these shows, you get introduced to people that you probably will never meet in other ways in your life, right? Right. And I don't know that I ever would have met.
Starting point is 00:37:32 half all of these people you know yeah trista this is this was supposed to be like a 15 minute conversation about the whole thing i need more okay i need more from you i know you're you're trying to get some beauty sleep before the big press day but can we can we keep going on this because i'd like to i'd like to have a whole other conversation about how you got ready for this thing you know what you were doing to prepare do you got time for me all right all right we're going to work always time for you, Bob Guinea. I love it. Well, we're going to take up a little break. And when we return, we're going to have a whole lot more with Trista Sutter, Navy SEAL training cadet, Special Forces, superstar athlete. We'll be back with more almost famous, the OGs.
Starting point is 00:38:22 My boyfriend's professor is way too friendly, and now I'm seriously suspicious. Wait a minute, Sam. Maybe her boyfriend's just looking for extra credit. Well, Dakota, luckily, it's back to school week on the OK Storytime podcast. so we'll find out soon. This person writes, my boyfriend's been hanging out with his young professor a lot. He doesn't think it's a problem, but I don't trust her. Now he's insisting we get to know each other, but I just want her gone. Hold up. Isn't that against school policy? That seems inappropriate. Maybe find out how it ends by listening to the OK Storytime podcast on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Hi, my name is Enya Umanzor. And I'm Drew Phillips.
