This is the almost famous podcast with Iheart Radio.
Hey, everybody.
This is Trista.
We are back for a very, um,
Out of nowhere.
Episode, breaking news.
Taylor Frankie Paul is in the news again,
and Ben and Ashley are out.
So I am filling in right now with our producer, Heather,
and we've got a lot to talk about.
The last 24 hours, some headlines have come out about Taylor.
So we're going to break it all down and go through what we have read.
We have not talked to anyone in,
involved in any of the he said she said in particular, but we're just breaking down what is
breaking news for you right here. And obviously the story is constantly developing, so we will be
keeping an eye out for anything else because I definitely think this is not the end of this saga.
And I think we're going to be hearing a lot more probably in the coming days.
Yeah, unfortunately. Okay, so first article that we've got is on
people and the title is Taylor Frankie Paul's ex-husband Tate Paul files for temporary restraining order.
This was published today, June 30th, and he filed for a petition to modify the terms of their
divorce and custody agreement as well as seeking the temporary restraining order.
It says that Tate filed against Taylor in a Utah court today, according to court documents obtained
by people, the pair who share a daughter, Indy, and a son, Ocean, were married from 16 to
22.
In addition to his restraining order, I said this, he filed a petition to modify the terms of
their agreement, or their divorce and custody agreement.
And on June 3rd, he was quoted as saying, my co-parenting relationship has been peaceful for
the most part.
And I thought this was really interesting that he wrote in the comments of a lot of a lot of
live stream hosted by Crew Eaton, who is Dakota's roommate, right?
Yes.
Who's also, can I tell this is weird?
Yeah, please.
He's also a single father.
And me and my team put him on a reality dating show for Hulu about three or four years ago.
Isn't that crazy?
This little reality bubble in Utah that keeps, for some reason, like, connecting with each other.
Yeah, Crew was on a dating show called Back in the Groove.
Oh, okay.
That was also, we've said his name before, that's a Ilong Gale show.
So connected back to The Bachelor as well.
Right, of course.
Small world, small world, small world.
Okay, so crew was hosting a live stream, and he is Dakota's roommate.
Dakota is Taylor's ex as well.
and I just find it interesting that Tate, Dakota, and crew are all chatting, you know,
and I feel like in my mind it has been pretty well established.
I feel like there's also a lot of evidence to the fact that there's a lot of coincidences on Dakota
and the fact that it seems like, well, I shouldn't say the fact.
it seems like he just wants to put out information when it is going to be the most impactful in ruining Taylor's life.
And not to say that what he puts out there isn't, aren't things that have happened, but I also just feel like timing-wise, it's really interesting to me that Tate is talking to Kruh, who is Dakota's roommate about all of this stuff, especially.
when they have been recently talking about her season of the Bachelorette airing soon.
It is interesting.
And if you will remember back to March, when Dakota initially filed his protective order,
his restraining order against Taylor, him and Tate passed in the courthouse and TMZ snapped
a photo of them.
Yep.
And we had our legal expert on after that.
And she said that, I believe she said that that restraining order had already been filed,
that Tate had followed through with that or had put that into motion back then.
So that's what he was doing at the courthouse as well, was trying to obtain an order of protection.
Maybe because of this comment, like we're seeing, he says that, you know, for the most part,
I'm paraphrasing, but for the most part, he's saying that his co-parenting relationship with Taylor has been good.
So maybe at some point he dropped that protective order after he went to court.
Maybe they were on good terms.
But it looks like today he has put something into motion.
It did say also, I want to add to that, it says what he said on the live stream that I haven't said yet is the last few months have not been so.
So they were having a very peaceful co-parenting relationship in June 3rd.
And then he said the last few months have not been so.
The last few months has been not so.
So it seems like, I don't know.
I just question, I just question that they're like, wonder if they're ganging up on her at all, if they have the same mentality.
And also she's been, you know, she's put out videos of her with her kids.
They bought this go, not like a golf cart.
A golf cart.
Yeah, I saw that too.
They've been riding around in the golf cart and making memories, and it seems like, you know, having a great summer for all intents and purposes.
But I wonder where this, like, I wonder why the restraining order was filed by Tate.
Like, what happened?
Because we obviously don't have any information as to why.
We don't have any context to that.
And I think that is probably one of the most surprising things to me.
to come out in the last 24 hours.
We're also going to get into this rehab stint
because I think that's also surprising.
But with the court system
and what she was going through with Dakota,
we know that her last hearing in the custody,
she got it lifted that she did not have to have
supervised visitation with her son ever,
who right now primary custody is with Dakota,
which means crew, the roommate,
like they're all like living together.
And so that was a good sign.
That was like a win for Taylor that things were starting to maybe go back to some sort of quote unquote normal for them.
And then we also know that they have another court hearing coming up on July 8th, which is going to be talking more about this custody situation.
I believe she also got her hours or days increased of how much she could see him because at first it was only like eight hours of supervised visitation.
and then after this last most recent one,
that also increased a little bit.
So things were looking like they were going in a positive direction.
Right.
But this last 24 hours,
we've gotten quite a bit of information.
Yeah.
Yeah.
And let me just say,
like I am,
I feel like we always need to give people the benefit of the doubt.
And you never know what's going on in other people's lives.
and, you know, she did go to jail.
I don't agree with, you know, the things that have happened that we've seen in a video.
But I also, I know her, but I don't know her.
You know, I've met her once.
And, but no one, even if you, even if you're married to someone, you don't necessarily always know everything about them.
Right.
So I feel like I've always tried to give her the benefit of the doubt.
And I'm going to continue to do that until, you know, I guess until forever, because I feel like she is part of our family.
And if she's struggling, I feel like I want to be one of the people that is on her side that she feels like she has support from because I am very maternal towards everyone on the show.
You know, there are limits, but I also feel like I just want to give her the benefit of the doubt.
So if she's hurting, I feel like this next article, I feel like was a step in the right direction.
It's been reported that she entered rehab and it's on people as well.
It says Taylor, Frankie Paul, voluntarily entered rehab facility and is committed to getting better.
Source says the people around Taylor want her to get help.
So I feel like that's great.
It's a step in the right direction.
she is acknowledging that she needs help outside of what she's currently getting.
And at first I was really confused because I feel like the social media post or I don't know,
the link to it, it seemed like she went into rehab today.
But I believe she probably went into rehab last week.
And I follow her and she's been posting like every day.
I went back to her Instagram account, and she has posted pretty much every day in the last week.
And of course, I do remember a time, though, when it went dark.
Yes, totally.
But also, I wanted to say that other people can take over for her.
Of course.
You know, so someone else can be posting for her.
It doesn't mean that that's in real time.
There was a period, though, recently.
It wasn't the full dark moment when she, like, shut down her social media.
but it was very, I thought, very convenient.
It was around the exact same weekend that the men from her season were flown out by Bachelor Nation to go to that game.
Yep.
She then posted an Instagram story saying, got to catch a flight tomorrow or something haven't packed.
And so then the next day, the next two days, I believe, no posting.
No posting stories.
nothing to the grid, nothing.
So I took that as she's shooting promo for her season to be announced.
Like she was flown out to L.A., and this is purely, guys, hypothetical.
I have no insight information.
This is just me being a snoop.
I feel like that's what the whole situation was.
Those guys were not flown out to go to a Dodger game.
They were flown out to do some sort of promo shoot or something
because there was also tons of footage of them.
a studio setup with like a white background and all that stuff.
So unless they were just, you know, doing a photo shoot with each other for no reason.
Right.
Right.
You know, I think it was all very aligned.
But now looking at this, could that have been the time that she actually did this very short rehab stint?
Because we do know that she is not in rehab currently as we are recording this on June 30th.
All the reports are saying that she had a stint in rehab.
and people's reporting that she has already left.
So we don't know the duration explicitly,
but there is the TMZ article
that does go into a little bit more detail
as to how this rehabstant is a part of the chain of connection
to some of these other things.
It says, basically, sources close to Dakota tell TMZ,
Taylor Frankie Paul allegedly violated the restraining
order he has against her multiple times.
Once by having a third party reach out to a third party on Dakota's side to set up a visit
with their son.
We're told she was trying to make up for missing a previous visit while she was voluntarily
in a one week rehab stint for an undisclosed reason.
Now, a source connected to Taylor tells TMZ, she's checked.
Taylor tells us she's checked into that facility.
Okay. Now, a source connected to Taylor tells TMZ she checked into the facility on recommendation from a doctor.
TMZ is told that Dakota also thinks she skirted the limits of the protective order last weekend when she posted an Instagram story claiming cops were called on her by someone obsessed with her.
I don't know if you saw that Instagram story. I for sure did. And it was one of these.
ones that she did was quickly taken down.
People in Taylor's camp think Dakota is running to the cops
is part of his never-ending campaign of intimidating and harassment,
which can go beyond what is currently allowed in their protective orders.
And Taylor's team also allegedly think that the timing of his allegations
is a little too perfect considering that, you know,
it was just announced that her season is potentially airing as of next month.
month again, that's not confirmed either. That's just what TMZ and everybody else is reporting that
they've heard. Yeah. So what we're hearing, it sounds like, though, is she's not in rehab.
Whether she went for a week, whether when she got out, we don't know. I would think it's not today.
I would think that she's been out because of, like you said, she's been posting quite a bit
in the last few days. So I don't think it's recent. Let me show you. So she,
posted on, this was five days ago, this post where she's in a hotel room.
Okay.
And the caption says, I'll just leave this as is, dot, dot, kind of fun to read assumptions
on what people think they know.
And so that was around the time that you said, well, not, this could be, she was away,
she was, you know, at a hotel, but they could have filmed this months ago.
Exactly.
You don't really know, but what I find interesting is that she's right.
Like, as she's saying, people are just assuming that they know what the heck's going on.
So I just, I mean, we can, you know, obviously give everyone the breaking news and everyone, you know, you can decide what you pull from that information.
But I guess my point is, you know, there's the truth and there's like three, what do they call it, like three sides of the truth.
my side, your side, and yeah, something in the middle.
But I'm interested to hear what your take is because I saw that post as well.
And my interpretation of it was the allegations of the allegations.
My interpretation was that she was reacting to the idea about her show airing.
Yeah, I mean, I definitely thought it was about the show.
But that's the funny thing.
Because she's saying it's funny.
people assume they know what's going on.
You and I both thought the same thing
without even talking about it,
but it could be very well related to rehab.
I don't know.
Who knows?
It very well could be because everybody,
I know us on this podcast,
what the biggest shock to us
when we were reporting on that
was the fact that everybody was saying
that the show is going to air on ABC
when we were all kind of leaning into the Hulu camp,
that that's where it would end up.
So that, when I saw that,
video that she posted, that is what I thought. Like, oh, you guys all think you know, or maybe
the fact that people have been saying that her and her quote unquote winner, like, aren't together,
or I know that I myself have speculated that they aren't together and that it's actually
a PR stunt, all the little stuff that they've been doing together as of lately when it comes to
commenting and calling each other. But yeah, you're so right in the sense that we're never going to
really know because you don't know when stuff is recorded. You just don't and nothing. And we don't
live in her day-to-day life and we don't have that kind of intel. No one does and no one will.
You know, if she doesn't want anyone to know, then she's not going to want it. She's not going to
tell anybody. Like literally you could be like an investigator and be like, ooh, like there's a tag on
her bag. You know, let's look at the hotel and see where she is. Like you just don't know. And why
would you spend that much time like trying to figure it out?

Here's something that should not be as complicated as it is.
Getting a racist statue removed.
And here's something that should be a whole lot easier than it is.
Getting a new one put up in its place.
As long as there's a politics of race in America, there's going to be a politics of remembering the civil war.

This one's on Us Weekly. Taylor Frankie Paul's ex, Dakota Martinson, calls cops with questions
about X's protective order. This was published yesterday on June 29th. And it goes on to say
that Dakota called the cops with questions about the X's protective order. And
amid their ongoing custody battle.
The Bluffdale Police Department confirmed to us weekly on Monday, June 29th, yesterday,
that Mortensen 33 called the authorities at around 10 p.m. on Friday, June 26.
According to the police, Mortensen called with questions about the protective order that he
and Paul 32 have regarding two-year-old son Evers visitation, specifically about who can help
with the drop-off and pick up exchange.
Mortensen wanted to know if the protective order had.
been violated.
Officers made contact with Paul via a phone call and gathered statements from all parties involved.
The case was sent to the district attorney.
They'll decide if a violation occurred.
So we're just waiting to see if the district attorney's office will determine if a violation
has occurred or not.
And I wonder if it's about like if we're correct in that she went to rehab, missed one of her
visitations, realized that it might affect her custody and tried to have someone pick him up and drop
him off.
Who knows what, this is all speculation from me, because we have not talked to any sources,
but just reading what has been published.
But they do go on to say, cops called, oh, this is the quote from Taylor where she said,
cops called on me again this week.
What are the odds, according to a screen?
screenshot and it's not people. It's one person. The same person is obsessive, what you already said.
Paul and Mortensen have been involved in an ongoing custody battle over ever, following multiple
domestic violence incidents and allegations. Yeah, it just talks about the history of what has gone on
between them. And our legal expert when she came on and taught, we asked her, what happens if the
protective orders are violated in any sense? Like, what?
that could mean. And the long and short of it was really bad, really bad if any of this is violated.
Because everything is pending right now. Like everything when it comes to her child and her visitation.
And so it's, it is not good to violate in any capacity, the restraining order. And they were ordered to
not communicate with each other.
And that included...
Instagram posts. Well, it also...
I don't know about the Instagram post, but it included
like she's not allowed to contact
his family and vice versa.
That was like a question
we asked our legal expert. And so when
he's claiming and he's
calling the police asking about
this third party situation,
this is why. Because
however, whatever happened,
he feels that this is
being violated and we know for a
fact that they are not allowed to speak to each other and they're not allowed to speak to like
each other's family.
Got it.
In terms of this, anything to do with the child.
So we'll have to see how that unfolds.
My big takeaway from all of this is I don't think that the rehab stint was long enough.
It says all we've been seeing is one week as of right now, whether it was meant to be longer
than that or not, I don't know.
But one week, I think, is not enough of intensive care.
I know that you said earlier at the top of this episode,
you know, if she's hurting, you know,
I beg that she is hurting
and that she has been crying out for help for months.
She was crying out for help because we were doing Frankie Friday every week,
you know, even before the, while she was still in the filming process,
we were saying the thing she is posting online is not good.
She needs help.
And this was before.
the situation. It was very obvious that she was filming both shows at the same time. She was extremely
overworked or what was happening. So I don't want to beat a dead horse when I say this, but I really
don't think that the show has been having her best interest and really looking out for her.
And I think that she has people in her life.
It seems like that care about her,
but I don't think she has enough.
And I don't get the sense that she has a strong team in place of like professionals,
like a real crisis PR manager, like a real like really good lawyer, you know.
Like I really think she's either got the wrong.
people in place or she is blatantly not listening to people. I think because I think the social media
posting is not necessary. It really is not. When it comes to getting the cops called on you or anything,
like that is not needing to be shared on your platform. He's not posting that stuff on his
platform. Now is his roommate, his weird roommate? Sure, there's not, we can't control that, right?
but she has free will and she is choosing to post and share things that I think is damaging to her.
It's damaging to her family.
And when I say that, I mean her children and the people that could see this in the future,
I really think she needs to go to something that is a longer facility treatment.
and she really needs to get a better grasp on.
Her job is social media.
Social media is not your life.
There are plenty of people in this world
with extremely large platforms
with a lot of eyes on them
that are ginormous celebrities
that have managed to separate these worlds
and put things in place and barriers
so that you're not reading your comments
so that you're not the one doing all the posting.
You shoot the content.
You have somebody else post for you.
Whatever those need to be,
I don't think she's doing that right.
And I think that that is a huge problem
is that she's clearly chronically online
and she's consuming not only this weird narrative
that is being put out there.
I'm saying weird narrative because that's how she's interpreting it
or her team is interpreting it.
we don't know if like what he's saying is completely factual or not. But she's absorbing his
narrative. She's constantly trying to course correct and put out her own narrative, then backpedaling
by deleting it. And it all comes across as extremely trigger happy. What's the word I'm looking
for? It's not thought through. Messy. It's messy and it's impulsive. That's the word I'm looking
for. Everything is impulsive.
It's interesting that you say that because remember when I didn't know who she was because
I hadn't watched Mormon wives. And I feel like you used the word messy when you were
describing. Absolutely. That is what she, that word is associated with her for sure.
So that's the only reason that that popped up for me because we're talking. But, and I feel like other people have
have said that about just about her persona if you will if it's real or not whatever on
Mormon wives so I just yeah I hear what you're saying I just feel like she definitely
needs people in her corner for sure I don't know who those people are I don't know if
they're provided by ABC or by Hulu or by Disney or whatever
I know that for Bachelorette as a lead, you have access to psychological services.
And so I don't know.
I feel like she has posted a lot about self-care and what she does for her mental health.
And I feel like she has people in her corner there.
And I want to add to this, I was really, I don't care what people have to say about this.
I was really happy that in the last week, she actually did share that she is on medication.
Oh, yeah, that too.
For her depression, I believe is what she did say.
You can all have your own feelings about that.
Right.
That was a huge move.
And that was a huge thing to share with the world.
And so I really do commend Taylor for being that honest and for really putting that out there.
But again, I feel like she's got a couple of the building blocks,
but she's not putting everything together at the same time.
It's like you really got, if you, she's at rock bottom, right?
Let's say this is rock bottom.
I don't know how much worse it can get than having your custody taken away from your child
and the show that you did and put your love into.
Two shows.
Yeah.
Two shows, like, you know, not airing and one is like maybe you shouldn't be on this. You know what I mean? There's like everything kind of going up in flames all at once. That's when I'm going to be like, take my phone. I'm going to go away and I am going to work on myself because at the end of the day, I am a common denominator in this equation. These are the men I've chosen to
create life with, to marry, to continually let back into my life, to be intimate with. And I have to
work on myself with that. I need to work on myself about how much I let the internet and outside
voices impact how I move through this world. Like I am a social media influencer, but do I need to
be bombarded with all this information? I mean, we said this. When everything was hitting the fan and
people were talking so negatively about her and we saw her constantly responding to comments,
reposting things. We encouraged her to get off of her phone for a reason. Nobody in this world,
none of us regular people listening or recording this podcast, have ever faced an influx of
negativity like that. That is the kind of stuff that pushes people over the edge. And she is a mother
and with all due, Taylor, you got to put the phone down.
Like, I don't care if it's your job.
I hear that.
I just feel like it's easier said than done.
Like, this is her life.
And I feel like there's also like an addiction there.
I mean, it's being on your phone, recording content, looking at the comments, reading everything.
And I look back to when I was 30.
Well, totally.
But I'm just saying, like, I was 30.
when I was on the show and got off the show,
and it was a total whirlwind.
Well, I didn't have social media.
Thank the freaking God.
Thank God for that.
I was going to say, thank the gods.
But no, I'm going to say thank God for that
because I can't even imagine
because I would go on those stupid message boards
on ABC.com and read all the vile things
that people said about me.
and now it's just right here in your hand, like all the time.
And so when you live in that world, I totally agree with you.
I feel like, yes, could that have been like, should that have been something that she did?
Yeah, but I feel like that didn't happen.
And it's better late than never going to rehab.
who knows what the what the reasons were behind her leaving?
Like maybe one of the kids got sick and she, who knows like why she would leave?
Maybe she knew she had to be in court on July 8th and it was like, I can't commit to this right now.
You know, maybe it was just a one week thing.
We don't know that.
And like we said, this story is developing.
So we will be getting more information, I'm sure, in the coming days.
but I really think she needs something super intensive.
I think she needs to go away for 30 days.
Yeah, I mean, I don't know enough about like rehab and places like that to know what is recommended.
And, you know, I feel like you're right.
Don't you know, Trista, I'm a doctor.
This is just my opinion, guys.
I don't know.
But you know what I'm saying.
I don't know like enough.
Like, I don't know if they have like a couple of.
days program and then a week program and then a couple weeks like what is it like what are the options
outpatient treatment right there's all sorts of things that can be done um i just feel with the constant
spiral that she just does not have the right people around her and she's if she does she's not
listening to them there's a combination of things happening here and i see it with the posting and
the deleting.
Like, that is the,
the sporadic posting,
not being thought through,
like that kind of stuff.
And that is very her, by the way.
I know you haven't watched the show.
But, like, even last season,
we found out that Dakota slept with somebody
that she'd been hanging out with.
Taylor immediately, like,
posted a video of that girl
and, like, wrote a bunch of stuff on the screen
that was like the girl that you think is your friend,
but really she's sleeping with your baby daddy.
Like this is who she is.
And that's why I'm like,
there's no way that somebody is advising her to post this kind of stuff.
There's no way somebody's advising her to stay on her phone chronically.
Yeah, totally.
And so she's making the steps.
Looks like she's on medication.
Looks like she has, well, she does have a therapist.
She has talked about that.
And a doctor advised her to go to rehab and it looks like she went.
So I think that she's on the right path.
I just, I just am concerned.
And I don't know this woman, but I'm concerned because when I see the amount of negativity,
and I'm not even absorbing all of it, right?
Because I'm just searching for it.
It's not coming at me 24-7.
It's not in my DMs.
It's not in my comments.
I can't imagine somebody absorbing all that negativity about themselves
and just letting it bounce off.
Oh, God, no.
It's impossible.
At the end of the day.
And she's a mother.
And I want her to have the ability to show up as the best mom possible.
And I don't think it's possible to be the best mom that you can be.
when you're in an influx of negativity like that and it's on your shoulders.
So I appreciate all these like comments and these articles saying that like people are concerned
for her kids and everybody wants to protect the kids.
And I think that that's great.
We need to protect Taylor too.
Yeah.
Because that protects the kids.
Exactly.
Yeah.
And like Dakota, you deserve to be protected too.
If you feel like things are being violated in your restraining order, you have every right to
feel and call the cops and to do those things and to put things in motion so that you are being
protected as well. We've said it before. These two people are extremely toxic. They do not need to
be together. Unfortunately, they created life together. And so there is going to be some sort of
connection for now until at least 18 years old. That's the truth of it. Everybody should look at this
as a warning sign of or warning story of like,
be careful who you have children with.
No kidding.
I don't mean that.
And I don't mean that in a negative way.
Like she should feel punished or he should feel punished.
But like,
no.
Having a child with somebody,
that bonds you to someone for a much longer period of time
than a quote unquote marriage could.
Totally.
And you never know.
Like if that person is going to be,
you know,
turn into the best father or the best mother that you've ever seen.
Of course.
Or if they're just going to,
going to be horrible. You know, you don't know. You can't know. But yeah, it's true. I hope that for my kids
that, you know, whoever they choose to spend the rest of their lives with will be somebody who
they can trust and rely on to be the best parent possible if they have kids. So, yeah, it's,
heavy. It's a lot. I just, I feel bad for her living in this world of social media and
and not being able to escape it.
I know that you're saying like she should just escape it.
I just feel like it's just easier said than done.
And I feel like we don't know the full story.
I would like for her to get help.
More than she's already had.
You have to admit, though,
that there are big, big celebrities in this world
who do not touch social media.
Totally.
Don't touch it.
Don't post themselves.
1,000%.
Please, I stay away from it because of all other, you know, we don't need to get into that now.
But no, I totally get that.
You don't need social media to be in the world of entertainment.
Yeah, as an influencer, though, there are things she could put into motion that would protect her.
I know, but I feel like she is also so authentically herself.
And like, yes, the messy part of it is her.
But I think that she's like, you know what?
this is me and fuck you if you don't appreciate it, I'm just going to be me. I'm just going to do
what I'm going to do and I don't care. She is very much that. She is very much that. I think the big
question as we wrap this up is what do you think this has to do with her season airing now?
Well, I don't know because I have always said from the get-go that I want it when all of this
kind of came out and the show was canceled that I don't know.
I always hoped that they still would air it.
And I felt like the probability was pretty high because of all these people who have put
so much time and energy and money into it.
I thought there was a good chance.
And then this past week, I feel like it was over the past week, there have been people
coming out.
I feel like Reality Steve came out with something and said, you know, that he heard that
the show was airing from his sources, which.
they seem to be pretty valid or on it.
So I was like, okay, here we go.
This is when it's going to air.
And then, of course, I get the text from you saying,
Breaking News, can we get on a podcast?
So I don't know.
Again, I come back to the like,
is it coincidence that this is coming out now?
I don't think so personally.
But who knows?
So I don't know if it will, it probably should.
impact the airing of the show.
And we didn't even know if it would be on ABC,
if it would be on Hulu,
if it would be streamed, whatever.
So we're just going off of conjecture here,
but I still hope that it airs.
Maybe, maybe, like you're saying,
the best thing would be for it to just be done
and then she can move on with her life,
go get the help that she needs,
and just put a fork in it and be like, okay, we're done.
We're just going to move forward.
But I don't know.
I feel like there are still people out there who still want to see the show.
I don't deny that there would be an audience for it.
My humble opinion after today is as we were leaning in that direction, I think this is a no.
Now.
And I say that because you guys have to remember all the branding and the ads and all of that.
And no brand is going to want to be a.
associated with a lead that has an active restraining, two active restraining orders out against
them and somebody that right now, as we're recording this, does not have full custody of one
of their children.
Well, wait, can we go back one really quick?
So I feel like the article, yes, she had a restraining order when it came to Dakota, right?
And today, it was about Tate, right?
but what happened is he filed for a restraining order.
He has not been given a restraining order.
So it has not been granted.
You are right in that.
So that's also what I'm saying about the benefit of the doubt.
What kind of drives me crazy in our society is that people are automatically thought of as being guilty when the burden is on proving guilt and
not proving innocence. So it's been filed, but is a judge going to say, okay, you get your
restraining order, Tate? Like, we still are waiting to hear if that's, if that's what's happening.
You are definitely correct in saying that. And we should know. Taylor's saying that the cops
were called again this week on her, but she was never arrested. She was never detained.
Right. So, you know, we have to acknowledge that as well. My opinion, though, as working on the other side of the camera, is I don't think a show moves forward with an airing date with all of these question marks over the lead. Pending, filed, whatever. It does not bode well, I think, for ads. And we know that the bachelor, bachelorette loves to do integrations with,
brands. I saw the first episode. I know that there was an integration within the first five minutes
of a brand. So you can't cut that. You can cut so much out. But if they were to put the show on
ABC like it was being rumored and the ads pull out that it's not going to happen. They're not
going to air it. Now, could they drop it on Hulu? And that, you know, ends up being like less of
a concern for them, the ad space. I don't know how the streaming
platforms work in that sense, but I do know that shows on cable, if the ads do not sell around
them, they get yanked or they get dropped in an hour or hours that nobody's watching,
like four in the morning. I've, you know, seen that happen as well.

Hey, I'm Hoda Kotby, host of the podcast, Joy 101 with Hoda Kotby.
Okay, if you know me, you know this.
I'm always searching for inspiration, for support, and useful tools to help
maximize joy. So this podcast lets us uncover all of that together. We're going to have these
meaningful conversations with the world's most fascinating people. Like when actress Olivia Munn
shared how she overcame fierce health challenges that she never saw coming. I've gone through
breast cancer and then helped my mother through breast cancer and that was more difficult. There's a lot
of people who understand postpartner depression. I was not prepared for postpartum anxiety.
Olympic champ Sean Johnson revealed why she had no
choice, but to be a gymnast. There was something about gymnastics that was intoxicating to me. It's given
me a belief that we all have one of those treasures inside of us. We just have to find it.

time I'm diving into a rabbit hole of peptides, organoids, blood boys, blue zones and brain

to live forever for all of us.
I learned about some rad science.
I can make a brain for you and then we can test what draw is the best for your brain, as opposed to his

Here are some hard truths.
I would expect Indians to age faster, but I did not expect it to be almost a four to five

And get myself into a world of trouble.
I'd say probably start bone smashing.
That doesn't work.
To make it look more defined.
They say it works.
I don't know.

Here's something that should not be as complicated as it is.
Getting a racist statue removed.
And here's something that should be a whole lot easier than it is.
Getting a new one put up in its place.
As long as there's a podcast,
of race in America. There's going to be a politics of remembering the Civil War.
To get to school, I had to go down Robert Lee Boulevard. Get to the grocery store. I had to go down
Jefferson Davis Parkway. If you're an historian and you leave out half of what the history is,
you're not doing your job. I'm Akila Hughes. In Rebel Spirit, season two goes deep on both of those
things. The fights, the politics, the people who won, and my personal campaign to add something
to the Kentucky State House that's actually worth the wall space. We are more than our bodies,
We contain essence.
We contain spirit.
How do you represent that?
They are just fueling a fire that is really catching.
You'll see what I mean.

Mainstream media is full of cruel depictions of the unhoused,
stories that shame and blame and paint the unhoused as a monolith.
We The Enhouse is the podcast.
that's changing that.
I'm Theo Henderson, creator, and host.
And for years, I've created a space
where the unhoused and their advocates
can tell their own stories.
In the last few months alone,
I've interviewed unhouse parents,

the LGBTQIA plus community,
and the policymakers who make the laws
that impact the unhoused existence.

I do have to say one more thing.
You brought up something that kind of clicked.
I was at my wedding location.
And I was watching television.
television, Entertainment Tonight was on, and my previous manager, his lawyer, was on Entertainment
Tonight. And I found out watching television at my own wedding location. It hadn't, you know,
started. We were just there getting ready for it, that he was going to be suing me. And so,
oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. You guys can't see my face. It's so shocked right now. I have no idea what happened. What was
going to sue you about? So he was my manager prior to the wedding. And when we were negotiating the contract,
he is a manager. For the wedding special. For the wedding special. He's a manager. And in L.A. and California,
as a manager, you are not allowed to negotiate contracts under the labor commissioner. Okay.
So he said, we had an agreement of a certain percentage all along what we had had prior,
like what you pay managers to bring you brand deals or whatever.
They weren't called brand deals back then, but brand deals essentially.
And he said, I think we need to bring in an agency.
I had worked with an agency, so we brought her in and her agency.
And because of that, I asked him, because I'm paying also an agent, are you okay to split that?
And so I am going to continue to pay you what I've always paid you and then pay her what I pay you as well.
So I'm essentially paying double, but I'm not going to pay you more.
Like I'm losing money on this by bringing someone else in, but I know I need to because legally I need someone to be able to negotiate.
this contract for me, right? So he just essentially was asking for more money, more of a percentage of
the wedding special. And yeah, I find out about this at the wedding. Had it aired yet? No, we're getting
ready to film and it wasn't a live show. They aired it, I believe, the next week maybe, but it
wasn't a live show.
So ABC had time to be like, well, Trista's manager is suing her in court.
Maybe we should pull the plug on this wedding special.
And just because someone was suing me.
So pending litigation being on a television show is actually something that we ask about.
I'm sure early on in the process.
I'm sure.
Because if you do have pending litigation and.
Let's say you end up, you know, being, let's say you're the bad guy in this situation, whatever it is.
That doesn't bode well for the show for the image.
Oh, totally.
And that's why they do a background check.
1,000 percent.
I totally get it.
But does pending litigation come up on a background check?
I don't think it does.
Yeah, I'm sure it does.
Are you kidding?
Yes, of course.
That's, I mean, please, even like applying for college, like Max had to say, have you ever been arrested?
Have you ever been in trouble at school?
You know, all of that stuff.
So yes, of course, that question is going to come up on a television show.
But what I'm saying is it came up for me and I was still given the benefit of the doubt by ABC.
And mind you, this is completely different from what Taylor's going through because obviously she has had a,
she has had a stint in jail because of what happened and all of this, right?
And there's been controversies around her or whatever.
So I get it that there's more background for her.
But also I'm like, just because there's a file, someone has filed for a restraining order,
doesn't mean I want to like automatically put her, you know, in jail.
I don't know.
I know what you're saying.
And that is important to note that it's pending.
It's not been, it's not been granted.
And that's important.
but I do think that it's difficult to move forward with a lead when you do have one granted
and potentially another one pending.
So that's kind of my stance on it.
And again, like I said, we're going to be following this.
It is developing and I'm sure we're going to get more information before the end of the
week on this.
But Trista, I really appreciate you breaking news as our OG.
Bachelorette, who is way more, I will never fully comprehend what it is to be the face of a television show to
share your life, you know, with millions of people. And so that's why it's important that we get to hear
your take on this because like our listeners, they will also most likely never understand what
that's like. And that is a unique connection that you and Taylor do share. Thank you. Yeah. Yeah.
I just, if she's listening or hears about this, I just wanted to know that I'm, I'm pulling for all of us here at Almost Famous or pulling for her.
And I would just like to see the headlines go away. Breaking news, just go away.
Breaking news, Taylor Frankie Paul is on vacation in Hawaii living her best life.
Breaking news, Dakota Mortensen is living his best life.
Yes.
You know?
that's obviously what we all wish. And I just, I do want to commend Taylor if she is listening
on putting the steps in motion. Obviously, I wouldn't know that if she didn't share them on
the internet, but I still stand by that I don't think she should be sharing everything as it's
happening. I do believe that you have built an honest connection with your audience and I respect
it. But I think that this is the time to put some guardrails in place to protect yourself.
because ultimately you need to be the best mom you can be.
And I just don't think you can do that operating as business as usual.
But like I said, we'll continue to cover this.
And thanks so much for jumping on, Trista, for the breaking news.
Thanks everybody for listening.
