Starting point is 00:01:03 Why are TSA rules so confusing? You got a hood of you. I'll take it all! I'm Manny. I'm Noah. This is Devin. And we're best friends and journalists with a new podcast called No Such Thing, where we get to the bottom of questions like that. Why are you screaming? I can't expect what to do.
Starting point is 00:01:20 Now, if the rule was the same, go off on me. I deserve it. You know, lock him up. Listen to No Such Thing on the I Heart Radio. Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. No such thing. I'm Dr. Joy Hardin-Bradford, host of the Therapy for Black Girls podcast. I know how overwhelming it can feel if flying makes you anxious.
Starting point is 00:01:42 In session 418 of the Therapy for Black Girls podcast, Dr. Angela Nealbarnett and I discuss flight anxiety. What is not a norm is to allow it to prevent you from doing the things that you want to do. the things that she were meant to do listen to therapy for black girls on the iHeart radio app apple podcasts or wherever you get your podcast this is the ben and ashley i almost famous podcast with iheart radio hey everyone welcome to the almost famous podcast ben is out he had a last minute doctor's appointment so we have jared right here and he's filling in for headlines so we're always just going to be almost famous, right? We'll never be famous. Yeah. Are we even almost famous? Yeah. I guess that's an appropriate title. Yeah. We'll just get into it. Well, actually,
Starting point is 00:02:34 should we not? Should we do some host chat? I don't know. No, what's to talk about? It's Thanksgiving time. Happy Thanksgiving, everyone. Very grateful. Very thanking. Then there's the fact that Jared, he gets like, scammed into coming to my parents' house. Scam. I don't know. This is how I met. This is what happens.
Starting point is 00:02:57 This is our host chat for the day. Jared comes to my parents' house at least once a month, which is like super, super sweet. Spends at least like five days here once a month. And this is kind of a bit. But yeah, once every six weeks, I'd say. Pretty much once a month. Okay, continue. Okay.
Starting point is 00:03:14 So, and this is like our kind of negotiation for like the fact that we live in Rhode Island, right? And that's fine. And that's fair. I'm not saying that like, oh, so nice. of him to like come every month but what's hilarious is that like he in i think he has rose colored glasses when he is in rhode island and like oh yeah we can go to we can go to virginia and then when he gets here he he's just in the midst of absolute chaos like the most overstimulating type of place ever this is always nobody shuts up there's just always something
Starting point is 00:03:44 going on in this house and when there's not then there's dogs barking it's more the lack of escape I mean, you know that I like He wants to have his own car here But you can't just take the car Except for like sometimes most many We're out and about it. You know, your mom's like running errands And obviously your dad's at work
Starting point is 00:04:02 And it's, I don't want to be a nuisance Because if your mom's like, oh, I'm going to see if yes More of a nuisance. Yeah, they're letting us stay here. I don't think I should stay here. This is my home. It's their home, their home. Would you call our home their home?
Starting point is 00:04:19 Well, no. Oh, but they didn't live in that home. Yeah. What do you think of your parents' house? Like, I say I referred this house as my parents' house, but I also refer to it as home. So, but then I refer to our house in Rhode Island as home also. But I don't know that I refer to Rhode Island as home yet, because, again, I don't even know how long that takes. It's only been two and a half years.
Starting point is 00:04:44 So. Well, how much longer do you think of will be in Rhode Island? I don't know. That's up to you. So we have to just, I'm just wondering, what do you think, what do you think of your parents' house as? My parents' house, but yeah, we're never going home. You're in the sense, home is your parents' house?
Starting point is 00:05:04 No, home is home. Home is our home? Yeah. Okay, but do you think that has to do with the fact? Of course, it's still my home. Yeah, but like, okay, so get this. Is it because, like, we're in Rhode Island, so you're 30 minutes from your parents' house and where you grew up?
Starting point is 00:05:18 Because when we lived in L.A., Did you think of that as going home when we went to our apartment? No. I thought of that as a chore. Like, oh, my God, we've got to go back to L.A. I loved our home there. It was very nice for L.A., which was great. Nice little cozy apartment in a corner.
Starting point is 00:05:36 Felt very secluded, which was great. It did. All right. Well, guys, let us know what home is. I'm not saying. I feel like at home both places. It's just like when do you stop referring to, like, your parents' house as home? Well, also, it is different because we live in Rhode Island and when we come here, we stay here compared to when we go back to Rhode Island, we go back to...
Starting point is 00:05:56 Exactly. Yes, yes, yes. So it is very different. All right. Well, now let's get into this week's Bachelor headlines. So Katie Thurston, she got some bad reviews, some mixed reviews about her appearance on Bachelor in Paradise and coming in and confronting Blake and seeing him the first time in two years and doing so on camera, especially when he was already like in another relationship. you know what i actually had absolutely no problem with that because i think it was the test that they needed i just think that blake and jess you guys know if you listen to this podcast i just never thought that they were strong i think he just need like um a realization kick in the butt and i think
Starting point is 00:06:36 seeing katy gave him that and i actually would love to see um i know that they've been kind of spotted on social media together and seemingly a very friendship oriented space but like it just seemed like there's something else there. But anyway, let's get to the actual crux of the headline. It is that there was some trolls coming after her. There's one particular troll that she, um,
Starting point is 00:06:56 can she, she addressed says, Ick, just watch Bachelor in Paradise. Shame on you. Totally classless and tacky. No wonder why you're single. That's just what like an internet show said.
Starting point is 00:07:06 What did she do those classless? Just show up. And then she, wait, this one person said, if I could roast you, I tell you, I'd tell you to get some.
Starting point is 00:07:16 romayne do some stumpy leg exercises and grow a decent personality no it sounds like a unfollowing for sure i know so sad when people like that just don't want to follow your story and just constantly ridicule judge yet some real criticize you maybe yeah i don't understand romayne is that high in some sort of jared it just lettuce it's just saying she's saying eat a salad But she's not... No, but she's... Just to do the stumpy leg in great shape. She looks amazing.
Starting point is 00:07:50 Katie looked so, so beautiful. I was actually just thinking, watching her in that scene. I was like, wow, I don't know if I've ever seen her looks so good. I would love to see what this person looks like. Oh, yeah. Well, in response, Katie said, happy women, don't put strangers down. Best of luck with healing, whatever negativity you're going through in life. I hope you will find happiness.
Starting point is 00:08:10 What did Katie do? That was so controversial. That's what I just told you. she came in and she's it yeah she came in yeah but that's ridiculous she came in to host a roast okay so she was hosting a roast as like um yeah yeah yeah but then blake why do you look like you're pained right now this is jared's constant being is just like him rubbing his face and like putting his head down that's right can you just just relax okay talk about katy thurston so yeah so yeah this is so dramatic this is so crazy you you got to get a life
Starting point is 00:08:42 Because Katie came down because she was asked to come down and it was actually quite good content, except for the roast was a little intense as Ben went on a tangent with last week. Yes. Blake seems like a really nice guy. He doesn't own the beach. It's Bachelor in Paradise. It's a TV show. You're going to have X's come in. Not that Blake was complaining about it. He honestly wasn't.
Starting point is 00:09:08 That's what's so crazy. I actually feel like Blake initially was like, oh, shit. But then he, he knows what's up. Yeah, he one knows what's up. This is his third show. He's dealt with producers a lot because, hey, he had to come on the middle of Katie's season. He knows the workings of all this. And three, I actually think he appreciated the sit down, which may have never happened in real life.
Starting point is 00:09:31 Moving on in a brief teaser of new footage from this upcoming season, Bachelor Joey, wow, we're going to, I'm going to have to have to practice in his last name. Graziade? I'll go with that. Joey Graziade. Anyway. Okay. Anyway, guys, so he is just...
Starting point is 00:09:51 He's got butterflies. He's got butterflies. Oh, my God. I can't believe this is a headline. He's got butterflies. I hope he has butterflies. Yeah, that would be really bad. I hope one of them gets in butterflies.
Starting point is 00:10:05 I think there's more than 25 list this season. But okay. So I just feel the most ready that I've ever... ever been to be in an engagement and a marriage. I get butterflies. That's what he... I just feel the most ready. Bro, I hope you're ready.
Starting point is 00:10:22 You're going to get engaged, these people. He also said, I didn't think this was the way I was going to be doing it back in the day, finding his person. But I've fully committed to it now, and the excitement's great. And I'm glad people are happy to see me trying to find my person, that they're excited about this season, and I am too. Yeah, he's going to be good. I think he'll be good.
Starting point is 00:10:44 I think the season will be good. He's a good choice to be The Bachelor. It seems like people are excited about it. I hope it's a good season. I hope it does well. I sure hope it does well, too. And I think it will do much better than the past, too. Because Joey just seems to be more of a guy that, like, people, they enjoyed watching more.
Starting point is 00:11:05 He was more rootable in the past couple. and he's a very very handsome young looking man yeah he'll be good uh season will be good and um hopefully it has a little momentum built up after what's going on with golden bachelor right now which it's gonna be hard to compete to and he compete with and if you know if you've heard ben ben doesn't think that they're ever going to do a golden bachelor again because he said that that it's actually too much for them to live up too kind of because they don't ever want the Bachelor to be like the second favorite show they want the bachelor to still be the golden child of the franchise yeah i just i don't know if that's if that is truly how producers are thinking
Starting point is 00:11:50 i think that they're in the wrong mindset my gut tells me they're not thinking that i mean you you know the reason they created a golden bachelor was because they thought it was going to be successful it is successful so the idea that they created this show it exceeded expectations or lived up to expectations however they looked at it And now they're going to say, well, we can't have it. We can't do another season because it's too successful. Yeah, it's absolutely ridiculous. And why do it in the first place?
Starting point is 00:12:17 Yeah, it would be ridiculous. I can't imagine that that's the case. I would imagine that they're going to do another season of the Golden Bachelor, whether it be a Bachelor or Bachelorette. They'll continue doing Bachelor. I think one helps the other. You know what I mean? I don't think Golden Bachelor is taking away from Bachelor.
Starting point is 00:12:35 I don't think Paradise is taking away from Golden. and Bachelor or vice versa. I think it's all kind of, you know, team players here. Mm-hmm. So I do it. Hi, my name is Enya Humanzor. And I'm Drew Phillips. And we run a podcast called Emergency Intercom. If you're a crime junkie and you love crimes, we're not the podcast for you. But if you have unmedicated ADHD... Oh my God, perfect. And want to hear people. people with mental illness, psychobabble. Yes, yes.
Starting point is 00:13:12 Then Emergency Intercom is the podcast for you. Open your free IHeartRadio app. Search Emergency Intercom and listen now. My name is Ed. Everyone say hello, Ed. Hello, Ed. I'm from a very rural background myself. My dad is a farmer and my mom is a cousin.
Starting point is 00:13:27 So, like, it's not like... What do you get when a true crime producer walks into a comedy club? I know it sounds like the start of a bad joke, but that really was my reality nine years ago. I just normally do straight stand-up, but this is a bit different. On stage stood a comedian with a story that no one expected to hear. On 22nd of July 2015, a 23-year-old man had killed his family.
Starting point is 00:13:56 And then he came to my house. So what do you get when a true crime producer walks into a comedy club? A new podcast called Wisecrack, where stand-up comedy and murder takes center stage. Available now. Listen to Wisecrack on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. What would you do if one bad decision forced you to choose
Starting point is 00:14:23 between a maximum security prison or the most brutal boot camp designed to be hell on earth? Unfortunately for Mark Lombardo, this was the choice he faced. He said, you are a number, a New York State number, and we own you. Shock incarceration, also known as boot camps, are short-term, highly regimented correctional programs that mimic military basic training.
Starting point is 00:14:47 These programs aim to provide a shock of prison life, emphasizing strict discipline, physical training, hard labor, and rehabilitation programs. Mark had one chance to complete this program and had no idea of the hell awaiting him the next six months. The first night was so overwhelming. And you don't know who's next to you. And we didn't know what to expect in the morning.
Starting point is 00:15:11 Nobody tells you anything. Listen to shock incarceration on the IHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. A foot washed up a shoe with some bones in it. They had no idea who it was. Most everything was burned up pretty good from the fire that not a whole lot was salvageable. These are the coldest of cold cases, but everything is about to change. Every case. that is a cold case that has DNA.
Starting point is 00:15:38 Right now in a backlog will be identified in our lifetime. A small lab in Texas is cracking the code on DNA. Using new scientific tools, they're finding clues in evidence so tiny you might just miss it. He never thought he was going to get caught. And I just looked at my computer screen. I was just like, ah, got you. On America's Crime Lab, we'll learn about victims and survivors.
Starting point is 00:16:03 And you'll meet the team behind the scenes at Othrum, the Houston Lab, the team that takes. takes on the most hopeless cases to finally solve the unsolvable. Listen to America's Crime Lab on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. In big wedding news, one of my bachelor idols icons from before my time and during our time and just somebody I've always greatly admired, Michelle Money is now Michelle Weir. She married PGA Masters Champion Mike Weir. Do you ever feel bad that there's so many former contestants on this show, women that end up marrying athletes, people with money, successful, and then you got dragged to land violence.
Starting point is 00:17:01 You ever think that like maybe if it didn't work, you know, if. If it didn't work out between us, you could be married to an NFL player right now. I think I'm, I think I'm very happy with the way it turned out. All right, good. That makes me happy. Jared, yeah. Oh, my gosh, that's so sweet. You have these insecurities about it.
Starting point is 00:17:18 Just about me, you know, be like, oh, I'm not, I'm not that cool. I promise. Anyway. Oh, Jared, I love that you married me and then I'm in Rhode Island. Little roadie. Yeah, you're a good. And we own a coffee shop. This was your dream.
Starting point is 00:17:33 He was my dream. It was your dream. Anything with you. my dream, babe. I'd live in a cardboard box with you. I don't believe you. I know what? It'd be. You certainly wouldn't live in a cardboard box with me. I would live in a cardboard box with you as long as it was there. You would live in a cardboard box to me? Yeah, sure. I mean, I would probably live in a cardboard box by myself. I don't know much. That's why I'm not sure that's the right situation for you to think about your life. But, babe, I would live in
Starting point is 00:18:03 um i would live in this room with you it's like a 12-by-12 room pretty big it's nice 12 by 12 smells a mahoggy i would be able it's actually just plywood so oh yeah well anyway i bought michelle money congratulations yeah she's awesome i've gotten to meet her a couple times you obviously know her pretty well uh she's just the best michel's the best yeah they were actually thinking about not getting married she thought that she was okay with just being like together has she been divorced yeah but they decided to tie the knot they actually with 10 year age gap he's 53 she's 43 they got married in ocean side ceremony in hawaii on the 9th of november she said i'm so excited to look
Starting point is 00:18:45 mike in the eyes in front of our girls she has a daughter and um he has daughters and commit myself to him for time and eternity um they she has two girls and then she has brielle and um Oh, my God, Riel officiated the nuptials. All three of them did. Aw. Three girls did. How cute is that?
Starting point is 00:19:13 It was just very intimate. It was just like them, his parents, Michelle's mom, best friends, stuff like that. That's so nice. That's so, so, sweet. Okay.
Starting point is 00:19:24 Well, congratulations. Congratulations, guys. Michael and Michelle, M&M's. Okay, I brought this up a couple weeks ago when we had Rodney on the podcast because do you see how Susie Evans and Justin Glaze like they just are always posting of each other and they're doing content and lots of ads and stuff together. Yep.
Starting point is 00:19:46 Don't they live together? They were. It was Justin Rodney. No. No. That never happened. Andrew. Like Andrew is close with them.
Starting point is 00:19:53 But no. So she lives by herself in L.A. And during a recent Q&A, she opened up about her relationship slash, I guess, friendship with Justin and why she didn't go to paradise one fan asked are you and Justin ever moving things out of the friend zone and she shared a video of her trying to hold his hand and he just bats her hand away and she said I keep trying I don't believe that's the I don't believe that what do you mean you don't believe that they're probably sleeping together well I do think that there was something romantic at some point I'm sure I don't know about sleep I'm not saying that there's
Starting point is 00:20:30 anything sexual, but I think there was definitely like a flirtation, if not like a make-out. Yeah, you're not saying it. I'm saying. Okay. No, I'm obviously being dramatic and teasing. I mean, they've probably, they've probably tested the waters, maybe. I don't know, they seem pretty tight. And then another person asked Susie why she didn't go on Bachelor in Paradise, and she said, I really considered it. I thought long and hard about it. I just didn't feel aligned and I was worried I would regret, but I was also worried that I would regret not going. So what does she say? She said that she went on a wellness retreat before making her decision and it gave her clarity that Bachelor in Paradise didn't fit her goals at the moment and it felt good letting it go. I can see that.
Starting point is 00:21:08 Yeah. And then she said that while everyone left for the beach, I met a guy in L.A. that I dated through the summer. Although it didn't work out, I'm glad that I took the summer and dated in a more traditional format. I think also you and I always tell everybody to do Paradise. Yeah. And I stick by that. I think if you have the opportunity to do Paradise, if you're listening to this and you're a bachelor member,
Starting point is 00:21:32 and they say, hey, you want to do Paradise? You say yes, because you should always do it because you will regret not going on most of the time. Probably all the time. I don't know. I've never met anybody who said no and then they, you know. Somebody who said no and didn't regret it. Yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:21:48 But. Well, you know, these kids these days, these days don't have the stem that we did. So some of them are saying no. and actually being happy about it. Well, time will tell that. Actually, good point. But with Susie, interestingly enough,
Starting point is 00:22:08 probably because she's a former winner, she's still a pretty big name within the bachelor film. Because she's so good at social media. Yeah, so I don't. He kicks ass there. I feel like, like, funny. Saying yes to paradise in terms of the business sense.
Starting point is 00:22:25 Like, let's do it, stay relevant, have fun. It's great. It's enjoyable. and I still say all those things like go have fun enjoy it to everybody I think with her like she'd be able to sustain not going on if she really wants to like listen I don't want to date there I don't want to put myself back on TV like again I could totally see her marrying a professional athlete and they live in their mansion in L.A. and live happily ever after you know I think she'll be okay you're actually very you got a point that babe yeah all right
Starting point is 00:22:56 Courtney Robertson, this is our last highlight on today. She is pregnant with baby number three, and it's a boy. They have two other kids together, Joaquin and Paloma. And they have been their third. One more, she says, in 2024. We're excited to share the news. It was a people exclusive. Baby boy arriving in May.
Starting point is 00:23:17 And as a lot of people are including in their baby announcements these days, she says, I know these announcements can sometimes be hard to see. i'm sending all the love party five there's no one there's nobody else i would rather be outnumbered with than you humberto her husband you and i we we don't want to ever be outnumbered no why are these announcements hard to see because of just infertility yeah because everybody's being like pretty open about their infertility you know what's a great thing you know people are being more open these days about infertility and well i think there has to be about yeah i think Yeah, I think every woman should feel comfortable being able to talk about infertility, but also being able to express joy.
Starting point is 00:24:04 Yeah, I mean, I don't want Courtney or anybody who's announcing a baby to feel guilt. It's kind of like a balance, you know. But yeah, it's tough. It's, you know, parenthood is not easy, but it's also wonderful. And well, actually, we have one more headline because now that we're talking about babies, Haley Ferguson and our husband Ula Paul Vey They have revealed the sex of their baby
Starting point is 00:24:29 What do you think it is baby Because I saw it on Instagram Yeah Okay well I wonder If there's any jealousy on Emily's part Because they have a boy And because I remember the girls We're always like
Starting point is 00:24:42 Of course they want a girl's The girliest girls But you know Because but here's the This is why Because Emily like has the baby Like the baby boy And like she's like
Starting point is 00:24:52 Now that I have the baby boy i obviously don't care about what the same thing yeah it's like i you guys i truly just it's so weird how little i care what our next child it's not weird i mean what would be you know what's delson's bored and he started growing up i mean it was you know just fell in love them and you're like who cares i don't care of his boy or girl next like he's just awesome yeah it's just so crazy how things change but yeah they're having a girl and it's gonna be so cute because like obviously haley like i said is the girliest girl and she'll be a wonderful mother to a girl and she said on her instagram that she had a very vivid dream of our baby before we even
Starting point is 00:25:34 transferred the little embryo and that dream came true can't wait to meet you little darling oh so cute so cute all right very happy for them and courtney and um humberto and we hope that And Michelle. And Michelle. Matters not kids, but. So guys, hope that you have the greatest Thanksgiving, um,
