Welcome to Dirty Rush, the truth about sorority life.
Starting point is 00:03:02 with your host, me, Gia Judice, Daisy Kent, and Jennifer Fessler. Welcome back to another episode of Dirty Rush. Today, we get to hear your wildest spring break stories. Okay, we have our next caller, Monica, is here with us. Hey, Monica. Hi, Daisy. So great to meet you. You too. So where did you go to school? I went to University of Arizona. Oh my gosh, I bet you have a crazy story. I went on a spring break trip in Aspen with my sorority sisters. Okay. And, you know, like, like recently or what? Like my senior year. Okay. We were day drinking at a bar and there was a DJ. So of course, you know, DJ, day drinking, just having fun. The vibes are high.
Starting point is 00:03:48 When you're drunk, any DJ is amazing. Right? That's so true. Especially when there's like a good song on. You just like, you throw our heads up and you feel it. You're in the moment. So that happened. So again, in the moment and not giving anything about anything. My. best friend got up on a table. And of course, it's an elevated surface. We love elevated surfaces when we're drunk. And you're drinking with the DJ. And she slipped and fell off the table and she cracked her head open.
Starting point is 00:04:18 Like bad? Bad, very bad. And so all of us, you know how girls are. Like we just band together when we're like drinking. And it's like, yo, we have to go support each other. But we did. And eight of us sorority sisters got in Uber with her and took her to the emergency room. Just everyone showing up drunk.
Starting point is 00:04:35 That's like an emergency room's worst nightmare. It's like a sorority girl. And they were all playing. It took so long that we played truth or dare in the wade room. And she ended up getting staples in her head. And she was okay. And she rallied on. Yeah, she rallied on.
Starting point is 00:04:51 From that moment, did she rally on? No, we took her like when she started bleeding. Yeah. So then, you know, we went to the emergency room. And yeah, she had to wear like a wrap on it. And for the rest of the trip. Did she have a concussion? No.
Starting point is 00:05:06 No. She was totally okay. That's good. She rallied on afterwards with her wrap on. Nice. Yeah. She just had a great. Was the rest of the trip great?
Starting point is 00:05:14 Yeah. I mean, Aspen's great. So, you know, it was fun. Well, good thing. Nothing like worse happened. Exactly. Yeah. That's great.
Starting point is 00:05:22 Did you go? Did you usually go to Aspen for spring break or did you go anywhere? No, we typically do like the Mexico stuff. Yeah. Yeah. Okay. You share that you went to Cabo for your spring break. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:05:32 But you were sober during the spring break. during the spring break. Okay, so that was actually in Cancun. Oh, Cancun. Okay. Was that, that was intentional because you weren't feeling good or was it because? Yeah, I was on like a bunch of medication and stuff. So I couldn't drink for like eight, nine months.
Starting point is 00:05:43 Wow. So I was sober like basically, I was sober basically my whole entire senior year. Oh, wow. Which was crazy. Yeah, because you're in college. I learned so much. Like I had all the tea, all the gossip. I knew everything.
Starting point is 00:05:56 Were you like Mama Daisy taking care of everybody or the D.D and like. No, I was kind of just like watching everyone. It's like you're a fly on the wall, see everybody with their drug behavior. Yeah. Because everybody's truth comes out. So I'm sure you heard everything. I heard everything. I'm sure you were like, oh, you told me that last night.
Starting point is 00:06:13 And they're like, I don't remember saying that. And spring break was crazy too because like it was just like a mix of schools and people were hooking up with other people. And like I somehow was like, I just knew everything. And then I would wake up and they debrief with all my friends. They'd be like, wait, what? The Daisy report. Yeah. That's cute. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:06:34 Like, you know, this guy hooked up with this girl last night. Now he's hooking up with this girl the next night. It was crazy. Oh, my gosh. Oh, my gosh. Did you go to Cancun every spring break or did you do a trip every spring break? So I usually went with like my family because I had like younger siblings. So we would all meet up over a spring break.
Starting point is 00:06:50 But I went to or actually no, one year we went. I went to Arizona for the first half. My brother went to ASU. He's a year older. And then the second half we went to Newport. Newport Beach, had a house store. California? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:07:05 That was freshman year. Sophomore year, I'm like, what do we do? Sophomore year, I don't remember what I did. And then junior year, I think everyone went to Cabo. And I didn't go that year. And then senior year, we all went to Cancun. Cancun. So which one was your favorite?
Starting point is 00:07:24 Honestly, probably Cancun. I mean, it was really fun. Yeah. Yeah. Cancun's a place to be. Yeah. And Cabo and all of that for spring break. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:07:31 It's like a hub. Yeah. Yeah, that's cool. That's fun. Well, that's crazy. I'm glad that your friend was okay and it wasn't worse than it was. I know. I think also it's like when you're in that mindset, you just want to rally because you're
Starting point is 00:07:43 having so much fun. You don't want anything to ruin because we all have this vision of spring break of what it's supposed to be. It's like party and have fun, being responsible, but, you know, we're kind of letting loose. Oh, for sure. Earlier somebody said they didn't rest. Everyone is.
Starting point is 00:07:55 Everyone around you is. Yeah. And it's a fun vibe. So it's like you don't want to ruin that vibe for anybody and go home early. And like you're going home and you're like, oh, sorry mom and dad. I cracked my head open. Yeah. You know, so it's like kind of just keep going.
Starting point is 00:08:09 But, you know, she was fine. Everything was okay. You know, so she did rally on, but she was cautious, but she was good. Yeah. So. Well, I'm glad. Yeah. Okay.
Starting point is 00:08:18 Well, thank you so much for coming on the pot. It was great talking with you. You too. I became a millionaire overnight, but lost everything that actually mattered. Wait a minute, Sophia. Did you just say he lost everything? That's right. It's inheriting too.
Starting point is 00:08:38 Too much drama week on the OK Storytime podcast, so we'll find out soon. This person writes, I just inherited a fortune after losing my mom, and now my girlfriend's entire family is coming out of nowhere with their hands out. One sibling wants me to fund their whole lifestyle. Another vanished for four years and suddenly reappeared. And my girlfriend is already giving my money away. Hold on, Sophia.
Starting point is 00:08:57 So the girl he wants to marry is already sending money out the door. And that's just the beginning. He makes a plan, sets up a trust, and finally thinks he has everything under control. Okay, so things work out. out then? Let's just say the people he trusted the most are the ones who ended up shocking him the most. So does the money end up being worth going through all that? To find out, listen to the OK Storytime podcast on the IHard Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. I'm Lori Siegel, a longtime tech journalist. And consider my new podcast, mostly human,
Starting point is 00:09:27 your bridge to the future. Anyone can now be an entrepreneur. Anyone can build an app. And it's very empowering. Each week, I'll speak to the people building that future. And we're going to break down what all of this innovation actually means for you. What I come to realize is that when people think that they're dating these AI companion, they're actually dating the companies that create this. We're experiencing one of the greatest tech accelerations in human history. And let's be honest, that can be messy. There's no playbook for what to do when an AI model hallucinates a story about you.
Starting point is 00:10:01 But it's my belief that we should all benefit from this moment. Mostly Human will show you how. My goal is to give you the playbook, so you can benefit. The reason I say agency is because if we can give power back to people, then I think that's probably the best thing we can do for your mental health. Listen to Mostly Human on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you listen to your favorite shows. A silver 40-caliber handgun was recovered at the scene.
Starting point is 00:10:38 From IHeart Podcasts and Best K Studios. This is Worshack. Murder at City Hall. How could this have happened in City Hall? Somebody tell me that. Jeffrey Hood did it. July 2003, Councilman James E. Davis arrives at New York City Hall with a guest.
Starting point is 00:10:55 Both men are carrying concealed weapons. And in less than 30 minutes, both of them will be dead. Everybody in the chamber docks. A shocking public murder. I scream, get down, get down. Those are shots. Those are shots. Get down.
Starting point is 00:11:14 A charismatic politician. You know, he just bent the rules all the time, man. I still have a weapon. And I could shoot you. And an outsider with a secret. He alleged he was a victim of flat down. That may or may not have been political. That may have been about sex.
Starting point is 00:11:32 Listen to Rorschach, murder at City Hall, on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. In 2023, former Bachelor star Clayton Eckerd found himself at the center of a paternity scandal. The family court hearings that followed revealed glaring inconsistencies in her story. This began a years-long court battle to prove the truth.
Starting point is 00:11:59 You doctored this particular test twice in someone, correct? I doctored the test ones. It took an army of internet detectives to crack the case. I wanted people to be able to see what their tax dollars were being used for. Sunlight's the greatest disinfected. They would uncover a disturbing pattern. Two more men who'd been through. the same thing.
Starting point is 00:12:18 Greg, the lesbian, Michael Marantini. My mind was blown. I'm Stephanie Young. This is Love Trap. Laura, Scottsdale Police. As the season continues, Laura Owens finally faces consequences.
Starting point is 00:12:32 Ladies and gentlemen, breaking news at Maricopa County as Laura Owens has been indicted on fraud charges. This isn't over until justice is served in Arizona. Listen to Love Trapped podcast on the IHeart Radio app,
Starting point is 00:12:46 Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. You know Roald Dahl, the writer who thought up Willie Wonka, Matilda, and the BFG. But did you know he was also a spy? Was this before he wrote his stories? It must have been.
Starting point is 00:13:00 Our new podcast series, The Secret World of Roll Dahl, is a wild journey through the hidden chapters of his extraordinary, controversial life. His job was literally to seduce the wives of powerful Americans. What? And he was really good at it.
Starting point is 00:13:13 You probably won't believe it either. Okay, I don't think that's true. I'm telling you. I was a spy. Did you know Dahl got cozy with the Roosevelt's? Played poker with Harry Truman and had a long affair with a congresswoman. And then he took his talents to Hollywood
Starting point is 00:13:27 where he worked alongside Walt Disney and Alfred Hitchcock before writing a hit James Bond film. How did this secret agent wind up as the most successful children's author ever? And what darkness from his covert past seeped into the stories we read as kids. The true story is stranger than anything he ever wrote. Listen to the secret world
Starting point is 00:13:46 Roll Dahl on the IHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. Okay, guys, we have our next caller. I'm here with Grace. Hey. Hi, Daisy. How are you? Good. How's it going? Thanks for coming on. Yeah, absolutely. Do you have any crazy spring break stories? Okay, I couldn't really think of a great one on my own. Yeah. But I have one that I love about my sister. Oh, that's amazing. So I went to the same college as my sister. And she was a freshman, or no, she was a sophomore at this time and I was a senior. Okay, fun. And we both kind of split out for spring break.
Starting point is 00:14:29 I went and did something with my friends. And then she went to Cabo with all of her friends. Okay. And a couple weeks, honestly, a couple months prior to this, she had started telling me, like, there's this boy in my accounting class that I think is so cute. I don't know how to talk to him, whatever. So she goes on spring break. And the first half of spring break, we did our own thing, the second half we met up with
Starting point is 00:14:48 our family. Oh, that's fun. In Cabo? Yes. Oh, I love that. Yeah. It was a really fun plan and kind of got the best of both worlds. But she comes back to our family and she, like, walks into this lunch the first time we see her when she arrives.
Starting point is 00:15:02 And she is like floating. We're like, what is going on? What happened to you? And she sits down. The accounting boy. And she goes, I'm that a boy? We were like, this is too drama. But tell us about it.
Starting point is 00:15:15 She's like, it's the boy from accounting. We made eye contact at Squid Row. And both walked up to each other. long story short they ended up spending the whole entire trip together merged to their friend groups a bunch of like the guys liked the girls that she was hanging out with right that's cute they had like such a fun couple days so she had the best spring break ever she had the best spring break ever they're still dating to this day no way two years now wait that's amazing last weekend I went back to Cabo with my family and he was invited oh I know and we got to go back to good things can happen in Cabo you guys good things can happen at Squid Row you you guys. Yeah, good things. It's not always good things up in there. Manifested. But yeah, I think it's just like such a funny story. Because also if you meet them, they're like the most unsuspecting people to be in a
Starting point is 00:16:03 trashy bar. But it's a really happy spring break story. She like manifested that like telling you about this hot boy in accounting. I know. Seriously. I love it for her. They lock eye contact at Squidrow. That is like so cute. Did you go to Kabul all for you four years for college? No. My first year I actually went to Florida some friends. We went to West Palm Beach, which was fun. And then one year I went to California to visit some of my friends who went to different schools like USC and Santa Barbara and stuff. And I did kind of like a week in California, which was fun. So fun. Cabo one year and then actually Cabo twice. Nice. Yeah. Spring break should be like mandatory for like all periods of life. I know. It was fun to go this past weekend with my family because both my younger sisters are still in college.
Starting point is 00:16:50 So I got my own, like, many spring break. That's so fun. Were there, like, friends still there? Yeah, some of their friends were still there. And we got to hang out with them. It was really fun. And, I mean, I'm so jealous. I'm like, can I get spring break back?
Starting point is 00:17:02 To your point, I think it should be mandatory. When I have kids, I'm, like, totally crashing their spring break. I'm going to be that mom. I think you should. Well, thank you so much for coming on. Of course. Have a great rest of your day. Me too.
Starting point is 00:17:16 Bye. Bye. Okay. We have our next caller. Mari is here. Hello. I can't wait to hear your spring break story. We've been having so many great stories.
Starting point is 00:17:28 So where did you go to college? I went to Cal Berkeley. Oh my gosh. So cool. I feel like we've had quite. Right? Yeah. But I feel like we've had quite a few people from there that I've been on this podcast
Starting point is 00:17:39 since we've had it going. But where did you go for spring break? So the most memorable one was our senior year. Okay. And it was like obviously like so exciting because we all know we're graduating. Yeah. And we all decided to go to Cancun. Okay.
Starting point is 00:17:55 And that's where I went for my senior spring. Oh, I love it. I love it. It's so good. It was so fun. And I was so excited that beaches are gorgeous. And it's like the first day there. And of course you've been like working all spring to get beach and bikini ready and go have fun.
Starting point is 00:18:11 And stupidly, I did not think about like I had never been to Mexico and try. all the food and the different. So I did everything wrong and I was having salads and drinking water. That was not bottled. So like day two, I wake up. I'm so nauseous. I was like, yes, I didn't even drink that much. Like, how can I be this nauseous?
Starting point is 00:18:32 What is wrong with me? And it turned out I just got some like food poisoning. Yes. So they, like by day three, I was not getting better. And they called the hotel doctor. I didn't speak Spanish. I took French in college. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:18:49 So he comes in and he has a needle that is probably like four inches long. No. Yes. And the nice friend of mine who was helping translate was like he needs to do it in your backside and your butt. So he gave me this huge shot. I have no idea what it was. But did it help?
Starting point is 00:19:07 It made me feel better. Okay. That's amazing. So were you just down for like a day? I was down for like three days until I got the shot. I know. I know. So here like I was so.
Starting point is 00:19:16 You know how you envision this like perfect great? And then like when you're feeling that sick, like all you want to do is be home in bed. Exactly. Yeah. Exactly. Exactly. Exactly. So I learned like, I guess the trick is you take pepto and the morning and the evening
Starting point is 00:19:28 just to one and then don't like drink tap water. Yeah. Oh my gosh. Did anyone else get sick? No. I was the only one. Just you. Just me.
Starting point is 00:19:38 Yes. I'm sorry. Live and live. What a way for your senior. I know. I'm so sorry. I know. I was definitely memorable though.
Starting point is 00:19:45 Yeah, definitely. For sure. Definitely memorable. Well, do you have any other stories at all from college? I feel like there was just so many fun ones because later that a few nights later when we were there, like one of the bars in Cancun, I don't, they had like a dance contest and one of my friends was like this amazing dancer. No way.
Starting point is 00:20:08 So she fully won. That's amazing. We all got free shots and free. We love spring break. I know. I know. She was up. there and just so into it. That's so fun. Well, thank you so much for coming on the pod.
Starting point is 00:20:21 Thank you for having me. Take care. Yes. You too. Thank you guys for tuning in to Dirty Rush. If you have any crazy spring break stories, make sure to call in and let us know. I know now is the time for spring break. Also, be safe. Have fun. Bye, guys.
