Let's start with a quick puzzle.
The answer is Ken Jennings' appearance on The Puzzler with A.J. Jacobs.
The question is, what is the most entertaining listening experience in podcast land?
Jeopardy Truthers believe in...
I guess they would be conspiracy theorists.
That's right.
They give you the answers and you still blew it.
The Puzzler.
Listen on the iHeart radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
I just normally do straight stand-up, but this is a bit different.
What do you get when a true crime producer walks into a comedy club?
Answer, a new podcast called Wisecrack, where a comedian finds himself at the center of a chilling true crime story.
Does anyone know what show they've come to see?
It's a story. It's about the scariest night of my life.
This is Wisecrack.
Available now.
Listen to Wisecrack on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
This is the Ben and Ashley I, Almost Famous Podcast with IHartRadio.
It's a very special episode of The Almost Famous Podcast.
I am sitting next to, yes, in person, my incredible co-host.
Thanks, Ben.
We just took pictures and he thought that maybe we looked too married and not like our husband, wife, work wife.
Yeah, it's a good.
balance for us so here's our issue we get on a red carpet and i just automatically feel like okay
the only way to do this is put my arm around you yeah but then we're in that like uh posture yeah
for a little bit yeah and i said ash i whispered in ashly's ear as people were taking pictures i said
i feel like this isn't the best look for us i thought as well um you thought that why maybe we haven't
taken photos together on the red carpet since we were actually single because i think if we were
like not dating of course but single we can still do the whole waste hold oh i would if we were single
and there was a headline been in ashley dating that would be the best thing ever that happened that happened
to launch of this podcast remember but it was way too recent from your breakup with lauren for you to think
it was cool don't you remember we were at the the concert with amy oh yeah we were dancing we're seeing
oh my god um Brian Brian Brian Brian oh my god I love Brian Adams
Yeah, we were seeing Brian Adams.
I was going to say that, yeah.
Yeah, you were going to say that.
And we got those.
There was like pop, there was like somebody sent their pictures in a TMZ of us, like, just like literally just dancing, not touching.
Yeah.
Just for the record, I've never kissed Ashley.
Absolutely not.
Like, that's the weirdest that ever.
It feels awkward to me.
But anyways, we got our pictures in the red carpet.
We found our right posture.
It was great.
We get to see each other.
in less than 10 days, two times, which is fairly uncommon for us.
Makes the podcast great.
Well, and I like it.
Like, I like seeing you.
We did get to road trip in our Hyundai from L.A. to Santa Barbara.
And, you know, obviously you're going to see on social media, there's some posts about us doing that road trip.
But we got to catch up a lot, too.
Yeah, it was so nice.
I came home and I was like, Jared, I know that, like, we can get stressed by travel a lot,
but I really wish you had gone on this trip.
not that he had the choice too
because he had to work
and then there's Dawson
but I was like
it's really sad that you messed on that one
particularly because they were your bros
yeah it would have been great
and I would have loved Jess to be there too
because we stayed in beautiful places
to be shared with a beautiful spouse
yeah
I said I just slept alone
but we have got to see each other a lot lately
it's been awesome we are in Austin
we're staying at the Driscoll Hotel
the Driscoll is owned by Hyatt
it is beautiful
like the bar area is old-fashioned cool my jam like early 1990s feel like it almost feels like a cheers bar but it also has like antlers on the wall yeah um and the golden ceiling yeah there's a copper ceiling that's cool so i told my sister well actually it's weird is that leading up to this trip i heard multiple people say that we were staying in a haunted hotel and then we were texting with chris and lauren zima her getting dinner with tonight and they were like oh you're staying there
ghost. I'm like, oh man, this is really a thing.
So I call my sister who's like a ghost hunter.
Like, she will. She's hunted ghosts before. She's really into it.
And I go, Lauren, I'm staying somewhere haunted tonight.
And she knew I was in Austin, but she didn't know where. And then I go, she goes, oh, tell me more.
And then I go, this place called the Dresco. And she's like, the Drasco Hotel, you're staying there?
She's like, that place is on the ghost hunter shows all the time. I'm so jealous.
Yeah. It's weird. Most people.
people don't say jealous. So we're sitting in a suite right now that is supposedly haunted.
Well, I don't know. You were the one that did the research at the suites were the haunted ones.
Yeah. And one of our head producers is living in this suite tonight. So it'll be fun for her husband. So she's not sleeping alone like the two of us and that's a little bit more scary.
Yeah. So let me tell you a ghost story really quick. Yes, please. And everybody, I mean, I'm feeling like now at least as I get older, people have different opinions on if ghosts are real or not.
I get that.
And that's fair.
My dad has a ghost story.
I've never told you this.
So my dad used to open up hotels for a living.
He was like a manager of new openings for this hotel brand.
And he's at one of the hotels.
And my dad, if you've ever seen him on television, if you've ever met him in person,
he is a ridiculous character.
He's the sweetest, most authentic person I've ever met.
I love him.
I have this memory that I'll just say briefly
like we were at the
it was like it's the rehearsal dinner
of your wedding and I went alone
because you know was at the other wedding the night before
than Mexico that I couldn't go too pregnant
and your dad like was waiting with me
as I waited for my Uber and he's just like
the cutest sweetest, warmest man
that you can feel like you just babble on to
yeah he's like he's the best dad I love him a lot
he's just definition great dad
and great dad and he tells me the story
where him and his buddy were walking up
the stairs at this hotel when nobody else was staying in it yet they were just scary to open it
and this white cold like mist like blanket of like wind came rushing over them and knocked him
both to the ground he tells the story ever since i was little kid and he tells it with like no it
happened to me in indiana um it was actually in kentucky when it opened up but my dad like he he's a
jokester in a little bit of a way but he would have told me by now and he like tells it with like true
honesty. And then as I've gotten older, more and more people have told me their interactions
with ghosts, like seeing like somebody standing in the corner, whatever. So I, and these are
people I trust. I'm more and more convinced that something exists out there. And so here's
my interest because this gets fun for me. Okay. Listeners, we always love hearing from you. It's always a
big deal to hear from you. If you have any stories of interactions, ghost stories, or people that
you know, please write to us.
It's Ben and Ashley at iHeartMedia.com.
Share ghost stories.
Because we're in one of the most haunted places.
The Driscoll owns this,
but I will say it's worth staying here.
It's beautiful.
It's an amazing place.
Yeah.
But they do own the idea that it is haunted.
They have ghost tours here.
There was also the ghost drinks at the bar.
Yeah.
They're like all, they embrace it.
They embrace it.
There's been a lot of stories here.
But I know there's some good.
good ones out there. And the older I get, the more interest I am in these. Okay, so you've never
encountered like anything ghostly? Not that I know of, no, nothing can remember. So this is not really a
scary ghost story, but really simply, my sister and I were younger. I want to say maybe I was like,
I would say maybe early high school. My sister was probably like in middle school. And we had both
gone to bed or maybe she was still downstairs in the family room with my dad. And I was like getting
ready for bed, just got in bed, whatever. It was like one of those times where you were,
you're like able to make your own bedtime like that age my dad's in his office my mom is probably
like in the family room and all of a sudden we hear the foyer fill with an opera singer's voice
like it was like it sounded like we were at like Italian opera for 10 seconds
Lauren and I go out we like run out to the foyer and we're like did you hear that and like only
she and I heard that and my parents are like we have no idea
what you're saying, but it filled
the entire like center of the house
and we were all like sort of
off the center of the house. They didn't hear it
and our
theory is that there were some
opera singing ghosts that
passed through the house and it was
at a frequency that only young people can hear
because you know that once you hit
a certain age, it is around 18
you can't hear a certain frequency
anymore. No. Yeah.
And ghosts are supposed to live in that
weird frequency which is why
like kids often pick up on ghosts more like I have this one really good friend and her mom passed away
when we were in grad school and her niece would say things after she passed away like oh no grandma's
down there and she's like what do you mean she's like you grandma she hangs out in the closet we talk
there no so is this when Lauren got her interest in ghost hunting Lauren was always petrified
of ghosts she was like the creepy kid that would sit by my parents bedside
like in the middle of the night
and then like my mom would like
feel like a presence
and she'd open her eyes
and like scream bloody murder
because Lauren's like staring at her
she would do that to like me and them
and I think it was like her way
of when she was like in high school
of like kind of tackling her fear of ghosts
was just become really interested in them.
So interesting.

What do you get when a true crime producer walks into a comedy club?
I know it sounds like the start of a bad joke,
but that really was my reality nine years ago.
I just normally do straight stand-up, but this is a bit different.
On stage stood a comedian with a story that no one expected to hear.
Well, 22nd of July 2015,
a 23-year-old man had killed his family.
And then he came to my house.
So what do you get when a true crime producer walks into a comedy club?
A new podcast called Wisecrack,
where stand-up comedy and murder takes center stage.
Available now.
Listen to Wisecrack on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts,
or wherever you get your podcasts.

We are in on.
Austin. It's an amazing place.
What are we here for?
We're here for the ATX TV festival.
We're representing IHeart with our podcast.
We have an incredible lineup with us like Jenny Garth and Teddy Mellencamp.
Christine Taylor.
Christine Taylor.
Kevin McHale.
And David Lasher.
Just a great group from IHart here with us.
We just had a lot of fun with pictures.
But now we have headlines, Ashley.
we do have bachelor headlines this week we're going to have some great content coming your way
but some headlines uh for everybody yeah okay first headline is this uh didn't know what was
happening didn't get the invite not surprised because i've only met her once in my life uh andy dorfman
marries blainehart and dreamy yes this is the headline dreamy italian wedding her quote is
he's my person it's very sweet uh they had 75 guests in surrender
Italy. It was like a three-day event, sort of. There was like different little dinners leading up to it.
And Andy had four dresses. She said, I would marry him anywhere. I don't need a wedding to marry Blaine, but I need the wedding for the dresses.
Yeah, of course. And then our notable mentions of guests would be Tasia, Hannah Ann, and Amanda Stanton. They were all in attendance.
And yeah, so it was quite quite the thing.
they got married out on like a harbor like a boat harbor and sorrento and then they got on a boat
and then they were taken to a different hotel where they had a cocktail hour and dinner
yeah i think the quote from uh tasha says it all uh it says this is what a girl's trip should look
like uh when they're on the boat i was a little jealous i mean i knew i wasn't going to get invited to
his wedding i haven't seen her in like seven years but uh that looked like a great time and can we just
pause for a second and um
celebrate the fact that Andy Dorfman is married.
I know.
I'm so happy for her.
Like,
I mean,
she even said it's like kind of like a long time coming.
Yeah,
obviously it had to be the right person.
Mm-hmm.
But this is somebody,
I don't,
I don't know how this will come off.
I don't put her in the same category as Claire,
but like,
similarly.
I feel similar to the situation where I'm like,
they've been a part of Bachelor Nation for so long.
They've shared so much of their life with us.
because their relationships on the show didn't work.
And then they pursued, you know, relationships after the show.
And some of those didn't work.
And so we've just kind of got to, we've had to be able to root for them for years.
And grown up kind of like through the franchise, me, Andy was two years before me or a year before me.
Well, they were both on Juan Pablo season.
Oh, interesting.
And on Juan Pablo season, there were a couple of women like them.
I'd say that Charlene and Andy and Claire were all, and even Nikki, kind of like all these.
badass chicks you know right they were like tough and like a little rough like do not mess with me but
at the same time really feminine and like had an emotional soft side yeah what an incredible cast
it was a good one i was really honored to like follow that cast because that cast of girls just
rocked it they killed it yeah so i mean just a big deal for bachelor nation andy dorfman is now married
to blaine heart what a deal do you know how they met no i don't so crazy
They met over 10 years ago before the Bachelorette ever, I think almost like in the college years.
Her friend used to play sports with him.
They met at a party.
Didn't see each other again until years later, until two years ago, when they were both vacationing in Italy, he reaches out to her on Instagram and says, do you want to get drinks?
And she goes, well, I'm in Italy right now, so can't.
And then he goes, well, I'm in Italy now.
I see where you are on Instagram.
And like, I'm here too.
Do you want to grab drinks?
Yes.
And so that plays a role.
They got in, and that plays a role.
Ask me why they got married in Philly.
I would have, if you would have told me that story, I've been like, yeah, they're
getting married.
Like no chance that two random people that they've met before in Indley and they get
drinks for the first time in Italy and they don't get married.
Right.
It's very romantic.
Very romantic.
Okay.
Speaking of romance, charity.
our next bachelorette takes fans behind the scenes of her bachelorette promo
basically you know how we see she's with that overarching
rose situation can i pause there can i pause there for a second i have absolutely
love the memes of her intro compared to katie's intro oh yeah yeah that is funny it's so good
yeah it's so i mean but i feel like a lot of bad is is katie the only one there's
comparing i feel there's multiple bachelorette so i never got this rose archway
I mean, it's beautiful.
Like, I love watching Charities promo.
It's one of, like, it's like a Hannah.
The Hannah, the Hannah Brown one.
Oh, my gosh, that enchanted Cinderella theme one was so good.
Yeah, so basically, she just said that when she saw it, she was just in awe.
Can't get over it.
Also, some people we were with in Santa Barbara.
We have a podcast out right now with the two of them.
And I think it was an incredible podcast, probably their most revealing and vulnerable
podcast that they've had to date.
The Bachelor, Zach and Katie Bigger's stunning new
bachelor's, or new engagement photos,
have been posted.
They are beautiful.
They took pictures here at a theater in Austin,
which is their home, which we also learned from them.
Actually, hilariously, it was kind of like Katie's temporary home.
She didn't actually live in the house that they showed as her home.
That's a little bachelor tidbit for you.
that happens a lot though yeah that happens a lot um with hometowns so she was only she's traveling
in her so she was only planning on being in austin for like three months so she had i don't know
another place didn't buy a house like they had shown yeah didn't they say like she bought it
this is her home and he was building stuff inside of yeah and i told her when i met her i was like
oh my gosh please tell me that you guys moved into your place because your place was so cute on
tv she's like i've never seen it yeah i've never seen it yeah
So anyway, the pictures are gorgeous and is the two of them in, you know, her and white dresses.
I have a theater here in Austin.
It's pretty incredible and it was great to spend time with them in Santa Barbara and Los Angeles.
Well, Becca Kufrin shows off growing baby bump in new sonogram picks.
It's the favorite picture she's ever gotten, she says.
Her favorite pictures she's ever received in her life?
Well, of the baby at least, but maybe ever.
I got to talk to her when you were out for a few weeks.
She co-hosted this podcast.
I mean, I love Becca.
She was a great co-host with me on a Bachelor Live on stage.
But the more I get to talk to Becca and the more I get to hear about how Thomas not only treats Becca, but how he is in life, the more I'm impressed with Thomas, he's jacked, she says.
You know, so this is a big deal.
You know how it is to get your first sonogram picture of your child
and how that feels probably.
I mean, not everybody listening to this has had the chance to have a baby.
But what does it feel like to get that first picture that you feel like you can actually see the face and the figures?
You like overanalyze it.
You're like, is that my nose?
Is that there?
Oh, yeah, yeah.
You know?
And I'm thinking now actually it's more emotional.
think back on the sonogram than it was at the time because it's like that was a little
dawson and when i go and i look back on pictures of even like his actual birthday you know like
the pictures in the hospital i'm like oh my god that was you that was you is that you feel yeah
we didn't know it was you but you were in that little head and like little did we know the personality
that would develop it's crazy it's really cool to look back on pictures now oh that's so great
Have you kept all of Dawson's son-in-grand pictures or some of them?
Yeah, you know, where are they?
I have like a sentimental box in the basement,
and then I have like an album that I kind of just like throw all like loose pictures in.
So they're in one or the other.
Yeah.
My parents have some too because we have multiple copies.
Oh, that's so great.
And then there's a lot in my email, which I definitely need to print out.
That's so crazy that he lives in my belly.
It's so wild, right?
My uterus.
Yeah.
Oh, Ash.
It's so awesome.
And I mean, we just watch videos of Dawson.
and as we were sitting down at the bar tonight.
And it is amazing how his personality has grown and how you have a little human.
Yeah, it's so weird.
It's so fun.
This has been his most fun week so far.
Fun week so far?
Yeah, like this specific week, I feel like he's been different.
Oh, it sucks.
He had to leave and come see me.
It's okay.
It's only 24 hours.
I truly make these trips as quick as possible.
Yeah.
This morning, I woke up at 4 a.m., got a 6 a.m. flight.
And then tomorrow I'll be home by midnight.
There you go.
Yeah, it works out.

What would you do if one bad decision forced you to choose between a maximum security
prison or the most brutal boot camp designed to be hell on earth? Unfortunately for Mark
Lombardo, this was the choice he faced. He said, you are a number, a New York State number,
and we own you. Shock incarceration, also known as boot camps, are short-term, highly regimented
correctional programs that mimic military basic training.
These programs aim to provide a shock of prison life,
emphasizing strict discipline, physical training, hard labor, and rehabilitation programs.
Mark had one chance to complete this program and had no idea of the hell awaiting him
the next six months.
The first night was so overwhelming and you don't know who's next to you.
And we didn't know what to expect in the morning.
Nobody tells you anything.

So Joe, grocery store Joe, answers listener questions all about his and Serena's upcoming wedding.
This is a big deal because, I mean, at this point, it's been a bit since Paradise, right?
We're coming up on a year since the airing of last season.
Yeah, but two years since they got together.
Exactly.
That's what I mean.
It's been two years.
So this has kind of been a little bit in the waiting.
And, you know, they're already married.
So this is like the ceremony.
This is the party.
That's a good point.
That's a good point. So what do we know about this, Ash?
We know that the fact that sticks out to me is that there's a lot of bachelor weddings coming up.
There's Dean and Kalins.
There is, oh my God, why am I blanking?
There's Hannah and Dylan.
There's the two of them.
them and then who am I missing?
Well, I mean, Hannah Sleu's going to get married.
Oh, yeah.
But she's not getting married.
I don't think that she's in the running in that in that article.
Oh, yeah.
Then there's Mari and Kenny.
Mari and Kenny, yes.
We talked to a few weeks ago.
So the,
Thomas and Becca.
Oh, and Thomas and Becca.
Yeah.
Which has got thrown off a little bit based on the baby.
She doesn't want to be pregnant at her wedding.
Of course.
Yeah, no, no, no, no.
I understand that.
So the question was, did you guys like have a group meeting on whether or not you
were going to like choose different weekends and he goes we didn't but luckily none of the
weddings do fall in the same weekend because there would definitely be overlapping guests and you know
that sucks yeah we got to talk about the kailin dean wedding i'm assuming we're both going to be there
so we both are going to that yeah you got to stop by the crib but then you must be going to beckett
and thomas but that's like not in the planning process yet it's on the planning process um i hope
way him. Um, they listen. So. And then what else was there about Serena and Joe's wedding? I know that
he is said that he was most excited about the vow exchange. And then he had no idea that wedding day
gifts were a thing. Do you, did you guys exchange? I don't think that wedding day gifts need to be
extravagant. To me, the letter means more. And I know, I know that that feels like a more of a
modern day thing because like wedding videos and you read the letter out loud and all that.
Did you guys exchange letters and did you exchange gifts that day?
We exchanged letters.
Okay.
So we did not exchange gifts.
I really don't think that the gifts really mean anything.
I gave Jared like a pair of like $150 like Patriot cufflings and then he got me a little painting of our wedding venue with the date on it.
Yeah.
No, we didn't do any gifts, but we did do letters.
I would say out of all that, I mean, my wife is a big gift getter.
She also doesn't hate receiving gifts.
I am not either.
You don't like, you're not a receiver or a giver.
Yeah.
I mean, I don't.
Jared doesn't really care either way, but he's so easy and fun to shop for that I do.
Yeah.
But letters meant a lot to me.
Yeah.
I still have all of our letters and that was important.
But it's not, I don't think it's a thing that you have to get a gift, but if they've talked about it.
Joe Serena, don't stress.
Yeah.
I mean, I feel like that day too, the only thing you should be thinking of is like getting married.
Yeah.
And not stress.
seeing about getting a gift.
It's just like a little sign of like, hey, I just thought it would be cute for Jared
to be able to put his Patriot cufflings on for the wedding day, you know?
Pass him down to Dawson.
Yeah, when the Patriots haven't won in 25 years.
It's like, will we even be Patriots fans?
Well, that's all the headlines we have, Ash.
We do have a big week of stuff coming up.
We have some really exciting things in our future.
We're getting closer and closer to the Bachelorette season, which we're very, very excited
about.
Ashley, I hope nobody shows up to your room tonight, meaning ghosts.
I hope.
Can you not have your phone on silent or do not disturb?
Because I would call you first.
Yeah, I'll run down there.
What room are you in?
Yeah.
I'm on the eighth floor here.
But this room is definitely getting visited, the one we're sitting in right now.
But it's okay because Daniel has her husband.
Yeah, it's all good.
Anyways, hey, if you haven't tuned in yet, we did have a breaking episode.
where charities men were released.
We're very excited about that.
We break them down with our first impressions.
Ben does his thing.
I do the name.
I do the age.
I do the profession.
And then I let Ben do the judging because he's a way.
I'm just so good at judging people.
You're just way better judging.
But you're PR friendly about it.
I'd like say something really dumb,
I feel like.
Well, come on.
You're like kind and yet judging.
Yeah.
It's a good looking cast.
It's a solid cast.
So that's out right now on our stream as well.
So if you're getting pumped for the next Bachelorette season,
and yes, season 20.
Make sure you go back and listen to that.
You were season 20 of The Bachelor.
Yeah, I know.
Times fly.
They didn't ask me to come back and do anything for this one.
So, well, that's all right.
I'm fine.
You know, our friends like are burglary there.
Oh, yeah.
You barely know anyone there anymore.
And I feel like they're saving me.
For the old bachelor.
Anyway, before I get myself into trouble,
this has been the almost famous podcast.
Until next time, I've been Ben.
I've been Ashley.
