I'm the director of the men's clinic at UCLA,
Starting point is 00:02:08 and I want to tell you about my new podcast called The Mail Room. And I'm Jordan, the show's producer. And like most guys, I haven't been to the doctor in way too long. I'll be asking the questions we probably should be asking, but aren't. Every week, we're breaking down the world of men's health from testosterone and fitness to diets and fertility. We'll talk science without the jargon and get your real answers to the stuff
Starting point is 00:02:28 you actually wonder about. So check out the mailroom on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your favorite shows. Welcome to Dirty Rush, The Truth About Sorority Life, with your host, me, Gia Judice, Daisy Kent, and Jennifer Fessler. All right, you guys, so we have The Bachelor himself, Bob Guinea. I will say this before we start. I have never had more people say, say hello to your guest.
Starting point is 00:02:58 for me, from me. Yes, you are well-loved, my friend. That's very sweet. Thank you, my friend. I appreciate hearing. Of course. So, first of all, Bob, you went to Michigan State? Yes. And what fraternity were you in? I was an ATO at Michigan State. Epsilon Aida chapter. Okay. Back in the day. Well, back in the day, I don't know if you called it pre-gaming, which is what we're going to talk about, because I certainly didn't. And now all my kids talk about is, you didn't either. You're younger than me. but it actually gets on my nerves a little now, but we're still going to talk about it, that whole term. All right.
Starting point is 00:03:32 So tell me a little bit about how you all, quote, unquote, pre-gamed back at Michigan State. I'm assuming that means pre-partied, right? And so, you know, that's what I call. That's what we call it. It was pre-partying. Right. Yeah, I mean, you know, it would basically be like before you went to a function or before you went to a game or before you went to, I mean,
Starting point is 00:03:53 when I was living in the frat house, it was probably before I went to class. You know, we would just, like, saddle up and have a couple of cocktails, turn on some music, get kind of in the zone. I guess, you know, you'd be basically kind of picking up on, you know, getting yourself in the mood to party a little bit. Yeah, yeah. And so, yeah, I just did it yesterday. I went to Detroit Lions game. I invited all my friends to a restaurant that was right nearby, and I had some clients with me and some friends. And I'm like, hey, we're pre-partying over here.
Starting point is 00:04:20 So come join us. Pre-partying. Yeah, I have a time saying pre-gaming, too. I don't know why. I just feel like it's all the young kids. Well, you're a young kid, but so... I am not. I am not a young kid at all.
Starting point is 00:04:29 How old are you? 54. Get that. Are you kidding me? Yeah. What do you know about pre-gaming? You're old like me. I pre-partied.
Starting point is 00:04:38 That's what I said. You pre-fartied. 54. Damn, boy. I think I'm actually older than you probably. I'm 57, so I don't think so. Oh, okay. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:04:46 You look fantastic. Well, so do you. All right, back to the subject at hand. Anybody ever get crazy before? Do you remember any times where you were pre-gating? gaming pre-partying and nobody made it to the actual party or you didn't oh i've i've been that guy i mean i think i think you know you can get you can get yourself going a little bit too much at the pre-party and by the time the actual party begins you're so you know you've you pre-partied your way
Starting point is 00:05:11 into full-on post-party yeah no totally 100% you didn't make it to the party right yeah i probably never missed the party but i definitely have had some friends who have you know where they just to get all sloppy and you're like, oh, buddy, you do not want to, you know, put yourself in this situation right now. You're looking out for your friends when you're pulling them out of the party, right? Especially when you're a frat or a sorority, right?
Starting point is 00:05:35 Yeah. Yeah, you don't want them to make a fool of themselves, especially if there's a girl there that they like or whatever. And the last thing you wanted to do is make a fool of themselves and, you know, miss the opportunity to make a good impression.
Starting point is 00:05:45 You're a good man. Tell me, what music were you listening to, but do you remember? Because I don't. I don't remember, but, you know, my musical taste haven't really changed all that much from then to now.
Starting point is 00:05:58 I mean, I was, I'm sure I had Journey on. I always have Journey going in every playlist. Man after my own heart. Yep. Yep. Actually, I'm raising my kids to be the same way. I have a six-year-old and a four-year-old. You do?
Starting point is 00:06:09 Yeah, yesterday they're like, why is it, don't stop believe in playing? I'm like, it will. I love that. That is so, yeah. I mean, because we're almost same age. It's music that could get you, like, pumped, right? Absolutely, yeah.
Starting point is 00:06:21 It wasn't the ballads necessarily. It was a fun era. Right. So there was a lot of great stuff back then. I mean, I don't know if you were like echoing the bunny men and Lloyd Cole and all these different people. But I got introduced to them in college and they had some great, you know, upbeat stuff. And then I'd mix it in with my classic rock favorites and put together a fun playlist. I literally make a playlist for everything. Like when I go golfing, I'll have a golf playlist. If I go boating, I got a boat playlist. Yeah, that's almost more important to me. I am that guy. Yeah. It's all about the mood to me. And it's more important to me than the party itself. Did you ever meet, speaking of the mood? Did you ever meet like a special woman, a special girl at a pre-party? Yeah. I mean, sure.
Starting point is 00:07:03 I'm sure I have. You can't even remember. There were so many. You were like more interested in your playlist. It was a long time ago. I know, I know. I get that. Do you miss the chaos and togetherness of a pregame?
Starting point is 00:07:17 I could ask you that question, but you already told me you're still pre-gaming. Yeah, I love you. to this day. Yeah, I just did it yesterday. And so I'm not missing it. Today, in fact, I am the opposite of missing it. I'm regretting it. I get that. Exhausted. And I wish that I wouldn't have pregameed. See, now at my age, what I started to do. The pregame is the game. The game becomes the game. Me too. And then I've also like, I got to have an espresso martini or five in there because I need the energy now. We're back in the day that probably would have put me through the roof. But now I like to have an espresso martini because I feel like
Starting point is 00:07:51 I can still have a cocktail, but it gives me a little more energy to get through the night. I never drink them. And maybe that's the issue. Because I can't pregame better be at 7 p.m. Because 9 p.m. I'm headed right into R.m. I'm not like, I can't. You should try it.
Starting point is 00:08:06 They're really good. Yeah. I was like they're like dessert. Well, I used to, I think they used to be. Now I feel like they become a little bit more of a prime and the pump type of beverage. Right. What did you say? Priming the pump.
Starting point is 00:08:18 Priming the pump, baby. You are a frat boy. You're still a frat boy. Oh, I'm sure. It's so great. I love it. I love it. So I have a question.
Starting point is 00:08:28 I wonder if you can remember any of this. Did your pregames ever turn into full-blown emotional therapy sessions? It's an interesting question. I don't remember ever getting deep at a pregame. No, I mean, I'm, you know. It was just all about what boy is here? Yeah, my buddies were more about let's have some cocktails, let's have some fun. It really wasn't that.
Starting point is 00:08:49 that wasn't the time that don't get me wrong later in life i wouldn't say a pre a pre party would turn into that but you know later in life it's almost like the post party might turn into that right we're sitting there you know and and for me you know my father just passed away not too long ago i'm so sorry literally thank you i mean it's it's two years now or three years now but my um my buddies brought them up last night because everyone just loved my dad so much and and that that was i I guess that kind of was a little bit of an emotional moment at a, at a pre-party. But it was like a happy emotional moment. It was like, you know, oh, he was the best, wasn't he?
Starting point is 00:09:22 Oh, man, we love him. We miss them. Let's get back to our cocktails. You know, so it was it, we paid homage, and then we got, you know, we got right back after it. Yeah, I'm getting to the age myself where drinking a lot is always going to turn into weeping, probably. Yeah, you'll be both. Right?
Starting point is 00:09:37 Just getting stoutary. Napping and weeping. Napping and weeping. Napping and weeping. It's perfect. That should be a book. All right. Listen.
Starting point is 00:09:43 Thank you for coming on. You're a dog. Yes, thanks, Jen. What a charm. You and I have to pregame sometime soon. I would love it. But no game. That's all I can do is the pregame.
Starting point is 00:09:52 No game. We're going to bed. Exactly. We'll call the game REM. I like it. Thank you. Thank you, my friend. Have a great day.
Starting point is 00:09:57 Be well. Hey, everybody. It's Chuck and Josh from the Stuff You Should Know podcast. How is that not a story we all know? What's this, where is that? Why is it wet? Boy, do we have a show for you. From smartless media, campside media, and big money players comes crimeless. Join me, Josh Dean, investigative journalists.
Starting point is 00:10:59 And me, Roy Scoville, comedian, as we celebrate the amazing creativity of the world's dumbest criminals. We'll look into some of the silliest ways folks have broken the laws. Honestly, it feels more like a high-level prank than a. crime. Who catfish is a city? And meet some memorable anti-heroes. There are thousands of
Starting point is 00:11:19 angry horny monkeys. Clap if you think she's a witch. And it freaks you out. He has x-ray vision. How could I not follow him? Honestly, I got to follow him. He can see right through me.
Starting point is 00:11:31 Listen to Crimless on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. Dad had the strong belief that the devil was attacking us. Two brothers, one devout household, two radically different paths.
Starting point is 00:11:47 Gabe Ortiz became one of the highest-ranking law enforcement officers in Texas. 32 years, total law enforcement experience. Starting point is 00:12:16 My dad had a whole other life that we never knew about. Like, my mom started screaming my dad's name, and I just heard one gunshot. The Brothers Ortiz is a gripping true story about faith, family, and how two lives can drift so far apart and collide in the most devastating way. Listen to the Brothers Ortiz on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. I'm Stefan Curry, and this is Gentleman's Cut. Starting point is 00:13:22 And like a lot of guys, I haven't been to the doctor in many years. I'll be asking the questions we probably should be asking, but aren't. Because guys usually don't go to the doctor unless a piece of their face is hanging off or they've broken a bone. Depends which bone. Well, that's true. Every week, we're breaking down the unique world of men's health, from testosterone and fitness to diets and fertility and things that happen in the bedroom. You mean sleep?
Starting point is 00:13:47 Yeah, something like that, Jordan. We'll talk science without the jargon and get you real answers to the stuff you actually wonder about. It's going to be fun, whether you're 27, 97, or somewhere in between. Men's Health is about more than six packs and supplements. It's about energy, confidence, and connection. We don't just want you to live longer. We want you to live better.
Starting point is 00:14:08 So check out the mailroom on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your favorite shows. All right, you guys, guess who we have? We have Mercedes and Jonathan from The Bachelor. How you guys? Hi. Okay, so you were both in Vald to Greek life. So Mercedes, you went to Iowa State.
Starting point is 00:14:33 Yep. And what sorority were you in? Delta Zeta. Delta Zeta. Okay, Jonathan, you went to Chapman and you were in. BG. BG. Yep.
Starting point is 00:14:41 And just for our listeners, That's Phi Gamma Delta. Yes. Right. Okay. Well, listen, we're talking today about pre-gaming. And I was talking to Bob Guinea and I was saying like back in the day we did not use that term. And now I just, if I hear it one more time, it would be one time too many.
Starting point is 00:14:55 But we didn't. We just went out. And before we went to the game, we all just hung out at the Sammy House or whatever. You want to have drinks? I guess. But it wasn't like a thing. Like you have to like now you have to pregame it to part of the night. For sure.
Starting point is 00:15:09 It's definitely like, okay, so where are we pre-gaming? Right. It's like always like it's part of the... There's also post-gaming too. There is? Yes. Oh yeah. The party's loud and obnoxious.
Starting point is 00:15:19 And then you go post-game where it's like chill and you can have like a nightcap. Ah. See, I would dig that way more than probably the pre-gaming or the party. Tell me like what it was like though in your house, Jonathan, before, I mean while you were in college. Like what was it? Well, you always too. And we were talking about this off-camera actually is you always pre-game the pre-game too. Because pre-games is where you go and you like actually get to like talk and like mingle.
Starting point is 00:15:41 with people. So you want to have to edge off a little bit. So usually when I was getting ready, I'd be in the shower. I'd have one of the guys just throw me a drink and I'd just have a drink in the shower while I'm getting ready for the day. A little sad. But I mean, I guess it was whatever works. Whatever works. In college, great vibes. Really? Oh, yeah. Maybe I'll try that.
Starting point is 00:15:57 Don't you get music. You have like a white claw in the shower. A white claw in the shower. You know, you go take like a bubble bath and you have like a glass of red wine with you? Yeah. But you're getting ready to chill out. Yeah. You got an issue John Smith. Take the exact opposite. I'll talk about that another time. That's kidding. Just kidding. What about you Mercedes. Um, yeah, I feel like at Iowa State is very much a party scene. So we were always
Starting point is 00:16:16 pre-gaming. And the same thing, like the girls would get together before the actual pre-game because when you go to the bars or like the party or whatever, it's loud, it's obnoxious. And everyone's just kind of like dancing, vibing and not really having conversations. Right. So you would take the edge off at the pre-pregame with the girls and then go with like the big group of guys and girls, mix, talk, whatever, and then go to the party. I definitely make sense because I know it is like before maybe you hit the party with both sexes you do want to like get your flow on
Starting point is 00:16:45 for sure you also don't have the confidence you do as an adult back in college you're like all right we're going to talk to girls take a couple of drinks you still don't talk to girls but at least you had the drinks in the system do you guys have your either one of you have a signature pre-party drink now that I'm older
Starting point is 00:17:01 espresso martini for sure to make sure I don't fall asleep that's just what box just said back except I drink mine with tequila yeah espresso Martini with tequila? Yes, game changer. Why? So good.
Starting point is 00:17:13 I don't know. Okay, for all you little ones out there, get your, get your tequila in your espresso martini. What about music guys? Any favorites, things that you're listening to? Like in college or now?
Starting point is 00:17:26 Pre-gaming, like, was there just stuff that got you pumped up? Do you remember anything? I'm trying to think of like... It's probably always rap, honestly. Yeah. In college? Yeah, really? It was either that or like,
Starting point is 00:17:37 you have friends that are like into the oldies and they think it's like really sick and then you kind of get on board at that too. Like they'll play like Billy Joel and everybody's singing along and that's also kind of a vibe too. That's my vibe actually.
Starting point is 00:17:49 It's like really, really old. Yeah, exactly. Honey, it's the truth. The truth hurts, but it's the truth. What about country? And this is now I'm off the topic of pre-gaming. But you guys, because I know like now, I feel like a lot of colleges
Starting point is 00:17:59 the kids are listening to country music. Yeah. I love country music. I grew up on country. Wow. Sikes, jinks. Have you guys ever met before? Yes.
Starting point is 00:18:08 Like twice. Three times? I like it. What were the nights to go out at your schools? Oh, like. Wednesday through Saturday. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:18:17 We had wine Wednesdays. We went to the bars on Thursday. Friday, Saturday, were house parties and then Sunday. If you're watching the game, you can have day drinks, but then you kind of just chill out. Got it.
Starting point is 00:18:26 Got it. What about shots? Are you guys, were you fans of shots? Because I know for me, that never ended well. Yeah. Shots.
Starting point is 00:18:33 Did you try to pace yourself in pregame? It was like, you take polls. Yes. You take a pole? You just take the bottle and you just take a pole from it. How come everything has to have a new name? So what we did going out, we would take water bottles, like plastic water bottles and fill it up with vodka. And we would take that into the party and just, yeah, just take poles out of it.
Starting point is 00:18:53 I mean, everything is sexual. So now you're taking a pole. That's what this world has turned into. Literally. And also, if I did that now, I look back on like that time of my life. I'm like, how the hell did I survive? Like, if I did that now, I would be, like, not okay the next day. I would be on my deathbed.
Starting point is 00:19:10 I will say most subtle flex ever. I still have yet to have a hangover, ever. What? You've never had a hangover. And you start in the shower. Yeah. Maybe that's the key. Maybe that's the key.
Starting point is 00:19:21 The shower is the key. I don't know what's wrong with me. I don't know how it's even possible. Amazing. That's something to be proud of me. Yeah, that is. It's waste on me, though. I don't really drink that much.
Starting point is 00:19:29 Oh, you know? No. All right. Yeah. So you guys, you guys, you're starting with the white claw, but do you ever like, you ever hear liquor before liquor before liquor yeah
Starting point is 00:19:39 liquor before beer in the clear so do you ever follow those rules? No. No. I'm like such a like I feel like
Starting point is 00:19:46 I start with like espresso martini's now and then like I might have like a glass of wine and then we'll go into like liquor and then maybe a beer at the end which is like so crazy
Starting point is 00:19:56 she's crazy. Nice! That's like a big night out okay that's like I'm like out from like six to whatever. Do you just still pregame? Yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:20:05 Like you say, okay, before we go to jingle ball, we have to pregame. Probably. Yeah, for sure. But it's few and far between, though. Like, I don't go out that much anymore. But if I'm going to actually go out for like a night and I know I'm going to have like a good night, yeah, I'll pregame it. Because is it also just that you want to get like the espresso in? Is it kind of like just or just?
Starting point is 00:20:24 I don't know. If I'm having like a full night, I'll probably just start with like some shelters. And then I'll have an espresso martini or something to get the vibes up. And then I'll have like at skill of soda. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I feel like my pregame now.
Starting point is 00:20:34 Like sometimes the girls get together, but sometimes we're like also so last minute. So maybe it's just like having a glass of wine while I'm getting ready. Okay. You know, I feel like that's my preview right now. All right. So you guys meet me at what room. What's your room number? I'll meet you at the petite Pali, which is our hotel before jingle ball.
Starting point is 00:20:48 Well, I'll create. I'm going to get the espresso marty. I meet us in the lobby. Thank you guys for coming on. Of course. Thanks for having us. And I'm seeing either one of you hooked up. What do you mean?
Starting point is 00:20:58 Oh, see, I don't even. I can't even talk to freaking. No. If you have a boyfriend, girlfriend. I don't, but she has a date later. Yeah, I have a date tonight. I'm not into it. I drink a bottle.
Starting point is 00:21:06 I like John Finn. No, I don't approve. Excuse me. Thank you for coming in, you guys. Of course. Enjoy. Enjoy. Hey, everybody.

Starting point is 00:24:41 I'll be asking the questions we probably should be asking, but aren't. Because guys usually don't go to the doctor unless a piece of their face is hanging off or they've broken a bone. Depends which bone. Well, that's true. Every week, we're breaking down the unique world of men's health, from testosterone and fitness to diets and fertility, and things that happen in the bedroom.
Starting point is 00:25:01 You mean sleep? Yeah, something like that, Jordan. We'll talk science without the jargon and get you real answers to the stuff you actually wonder about. It's going to be fun, whether you're 27, 97, or somewhere in between. Men's Health is about more than six packs and supplements. It's about energy, confidence, and connection. We don't just want you to live longer.
Starting point is 00:25:22 We want you to live better. So check out the mailroom on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your Facebook. favorite shows. All right, guys. So now I'm joined by yet another beauty. Hi, Charity Lawson. Hello.
Starting point is 00:25:43 Hi. So you went to Auburn. What sorority were you in? I was a Sigma Kappa. Very nice. And did they pregame back at Auburn University when you were Sigma Kappa? Oh, I fear we got down. You did?
Starting point is 00:25:57 I want to hear. I want to hear. What did that look like for you guys back in the day? Honestly, I'm like, I'm so grateful because I'm like, I feel like I went to college during like the prime years where like pre-gaming and like parties before like going out to bars were like super huge. Right. And so everything that we did like always required like a pregame.
Starting point is 00:26:18 Yeah. No, it's funny. Yeah. Because I was talking earlier to, you know, Bob Guinea also from the bachelor. Yes, yes, yes, yes. So he and I, he's a little bit older, not as old as me. but this is like a new term for us pre-gaming and now it's like all I ever hear yeah no one we sometimes had a few drinks before the party but now it's official like you have to have a pre-game right it's always
Starting point is 00:26:38 like a little pre-party before the function even really begins and that's why it's very like the whole word pacing yourself that that came from pre-games really like you don't yeah like you don't really want to get too crazy until you get to the party so it's like it's all like a system wow so were you good at that pacing yourself? Oh, I mean, I learned eventually starting off. Yeah. As a, as a freshman sophomore, you're, you're easing yourself into it. But yeah, I got, I got the hang of it pretty quick. Well, tell us, how do you, how do you paste yourself at a pregame? Um, I mean, for me, I'm someone who's, like, very small. And so it's like, you really, like, I, I knew the type of drinks that I wanted to have. Um, I was very, like, particular about, like, not letting other people, like, obviously fix my
Starting point is 00:27:24 drinks as just safety measures. But also it's like you just, you know, you have to like keep tabs of like, okay, how much, you know, alcohol you might be partaking in. It's a long night. It's a long night. So I would start off always like, you know, you come in with one drink and then usually like a couple, I don't want to say a couple minutes. Like usually 30 minutes in like you should be on your second drink. And then obviously like there's always shots. So you have to like, that's when it really gets tricky because I'm like at that point, it's like you've got to keep tabs of how many shots you've taken. Charity, I feel like you should write this down. Like, this should be in a handbook somewhere. Because so far, we talked to quite a few people. Nobody had these instructions
Starting point is 00:28:03 for us. I love it. You save a lot of people, a lot of mess. No, exactly. Right. It really is, it really is a system. I'm telling you, but like, you know, you have the nights where some nights, you just like, you know, you get too carried away, but you learn, I'm telling you, at least I learned my lesson the following morning. Right. I was like, I don't ever want to do this again. So, yeah. I heard a lot of, we had a lot of our guests say espresso martinis are the answer. Honestly, for me, yeah, because people say, like, obviously it's like the espresso that keeps you up. Yeah. But I, I like, I do it when I start to get sleepy, which is probably bad.
Starting point is 00:28:36 But I'm like, that's like, that's the only time I drink espresso martinis. Yeah. I never start off with them. I only do it when I'm like, oh, like, I still have maybe like an hour or two left in the night and I need to like, I need to perk me up. Right. That's what I do it. But, I mean, they're great. It's a great drink all around.
Starting point is 00:28:52 But for me, I'm, I'm a little bit opposite on that. Yeah. No, I never did that either. We didn't have things like that back in my day or like Red Bull and vodka. Do you ever do that? Is that what you drink it with? You drink it with vodka, Red Bull? I hated it.
Starting point is 00:29:05 I'll be honest. It's not my, I mean, it's not my, it's not my cup. So, well, okay. So tell me, if you can, like when you were pre-gaming in college, like any particular kind of music you guys were into. Oh, my gosh. It was like, that was like the prime. Like, I feel like. I mean, it's crazy because I'm like a lot of the artists that was like really popular then.
Starting point is 00:29:25 And I feel like has kind of fallen off a little bit. But like Travis Scott, like that was like such the era that everybody like love Travis Scott. Like every time you go to pregame, like one of his songs are playing. He was just really huge between. I mean, I was in college from 2015 to 28, 2019. So like during that time. Yeah. Like it was just huge.
Starting point is 00:29:48 I wasn't really big as big in. to like EDM or house music then, but like it was starting to come up and it was becoming a little bit popular then too. Yeah. So that's kind of when I got like my start of listening to that type of genre of music. But honestly, you just want something that's like obviously going to keep the crowd like they're going to. Correct. Like it was very loud, but like very just like, you know, a good beat is all you need. Do you feel like the pregames were sometimes more fun than the actual game? I don't mean a football game or about, but I'm just saying like whatever party. Yeah. Oh yes. Well, I went to Auburn.
Starting point is 00:30:20 And so, and, like, at the time when I was there, we only had, like, it's such a big school and a big, like, college campus. Right. But in terms of, like, the, like, night life and, like, social life of it, it's like, yes, there were sororities, there were fraternities. But, like, going out to bars and stuff, we didn't have many options. We had, like, maybe a total of, like, five bars at that. And, like, at some point, you, like, eventually rotate through all of them. So it's like, yeah, people just got, we had to be creative. And, like, house parties or just, like, pregames became the thing.
Starting point is 00:30:50 thing. And usually like after a football game or something, depending on the time, we always like played football. Our like slots were like earlier in the day and that worked out. So if we had like a 3.30 game, we would then like go back home. And like most people were like, okay, like we might go out. But it's like there was always like a little flyer going around of like, oh, we're having like a party or pregame. Sometimes sometimes we call it kickbacks. Just like relax and chill beforehand. Right. Right. It's like a more like chill term for like it's still a party. But it's just like we're just going to be vibing it out. and see where the night takes us.
Starting point is 00:31:22 Right, right. We're trying to get specific with our guests today just for fun. But, like, did you have a signature pre-gaming drink? I was a big, at the time, during college, it was a big vodka girl. So anything with vodka, usually, like, I learned early on to that I just, I mean, for me, it works quicker, just taking a shot. So I was less of, like, a mixing girl. I was like, just give a shot, let's go. And, yeah, so I was a big vodka girl until I,
Starting point is 00:31:50 had just a not great experience and then I switched to tequila. Tell me about it. What was the not great experience? It always happens. I mean, everyone goes through like the experimental journey of like, you know, liquor in college. For me, it was vodka. And I remember, oh my gosh, it was, I think it was one semi-formal I had. And I, I don't know what I was on. I was feeling like really bold. And I was like, yeah, I can conquer the world. I can do anything. And I had, I mean, if I say the number. Everyone's going to be like, yeah, no, you need to, like, be hospitalized. Please say it. Come on. No, it's crazy. We all have that number. Twelve shots? No, 12 shots before my semi-formal. And I was like, I don't even think I, like, kept count, but that's what, like,
Starting point is 00:32:33 my friends were saying. I ended up going to the semi-formal. You were still able to make it. Damn, girl. No, I know, but I, listen, I crashed very early once we got there, because we rode on the back of, like, one of the guys that was driving his, like, pickup truck. That's also not legal. God bless. Right. After 12 shots, I a little bit want to puke right now. Go on. Exactly. So I think it was the car ride for sure. Oh, it was the 12 shots for sure. But go on. Yes. That too. Yes. So I got to semi-formal and I was like, no, I need to go the bathroom. And like my best friend at the time, she like came with me. And of course, you know, held your hair. Yes, held my hair. I did
Starting point is 00:33:16 the solid rusty hook is what we called it. So I just had to. like, I was like, I need to get this out of my system. I'm learning, wait, I'm learning so many good terms. So what does that mean? What's Rusty Hook? Just puking in a toilet? Yes, but sometimes you have to like kind of help you. You know, got a jump start.
Starting point is 00:33:31 Put your finger down your throat kind of thing. Rusty hook. Yes, I hate, I hate, well, I get the hook part. Why is it rusty? I don't know. Well, it's because it's like no one wants to do that. Yeah. You shouldn't.
Starting point is 00:33:41 You shouldn't be. Yeah. Yeah. Exactly. Right. Okay. And did you still have a night? No, I did not.
Starting point is 00:33:47 You were done. Yeah, I was done. And I was like, no, I'm going back home, which really suck because my date was really sweet. He was like, do you want me to come back with you? And I was like, no, I was like, no, please have the time of your life. I'm going to go lay on my couch. And so my friend, she took me back home. And then after semi-forma, they all like came and checked on me.
Starting point is 00:34:03 It was, I had great people in my corner. But I just was like, after that, I was like, no, I don't know what I was on. I was doing too much. I was feeling too, like, bold and excited. You are not alone. I want to say that everybody who we've spoken to has actually, you know, been there, done that, including yours truly thank you very much so do you still pregame um definitely way less yeah um it depends like if i'm with like a good group of friends like we were just at um zach and katie's
Starting point is 00:34:32 wedding two weekends ago in austin and we had like a bunch of people with us so yeah like if it's a social setting that requires that we'll usually keep it very cute and mild but yeah a pregame is always nice just to jump start the night but wait a second Zach and katie were on with us us just a little while ago. They're adorable. Yeah, yeah. And they said they had only very few people at their wedding. You guys must be very close.
Starting point is 00:34:56 Yeah, so they invited. Yeah, so it was a few girls from our season because we were all in Zach's season. And then Joey and Kelsey were there. And I'm trying to think other couples. Like Susie was also there. So it was just like a good blend, but it wasn't a bunch of bachelor people. Yeah, that's what they were saying.
Starting point is 00:35:14 I love that. Yeah, it was really sweet. Okay, I'm sorry because this is off subject. but how close did you get? Were you a runner up? How close did you get to Zach? I was, no, I was, yeah, top four. So made it to hometowns and then I got the boot after hometown. I can't believe you guys all ended up, though, loving each other and being friends. So great. Oh, we had such a good group of girls. I'm like, I'm forever thankful for that because it makes experience that much better. Okay, listen, well, I hope you all pregame together soon.
Starting point is 00:35:41 Maybe one day, me and you will do 12 vodka shots and get in the back of the pickup. Never again. Honey, believe me. That ship has sailed for me as well. well. Charity, thank you, love. I know he has a reputation, but it's going to catch up to him.
