Maybe her boyfriend's just looking for extra credit. Well, Dakota, luckily, it's back to school week on the OK Storytime podcast, so we'll find out soon. This person writes, my boyfriend's been hanging out with his young professor a lot. He doesn't think it's a problem, but I don't trust her. For me, it's the pursuit of greatness. It's the journey. It's the people. It's the failures. It's the heartache. Listen to the bright side on the IHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. This is the Ben and Ashley I, almost famous podcast with Iheart Radio. Hello, everyone. Welcome to the almost famous podcast. It's Ashley.
Starting point is 00:03:01 Oh, it's Jared. I know this is a little different sounding voice. This is Mr. Ashley I, if anybody's keeping track. So happy to have Jared here today. Ben's flight was canceled, so he's in the midst of a hectic travel day. And I thought it was actually perfect timing
Starting point is 00:03:18 because Jared in my first episode of Bachelor in Paradise ends starts tonight. You have a very radio voice right now going on. How do you feel about that? that it's very soft spoken you think that i should talk like this in real life no maybe a little bit yeah i like enunciate more no no well you do i'm not trying to make you feel bad i like your regular voice too okay really i don't like my regular voice i much prefer my my microphone voice well do each so anyway let's talk about paradise what happened last night okay so i mean you know what happened last night
Starting point is 00:03:51 i do know what happened last night that was a rhetorical question okay well well i don't want to talk about last night yet I want to preview what's to come with us and why we even have multiple episodes. So regale people with the reason we came. Word of the day, regale. Well, as most of you maybe know, if you follow Ashley and my life, we started a business, had a baby, moved twice.
Starting point is 00:04:16 Lots of been going on. Our relationship has definitely taken a back seat. That sounds dark, babe. It's not dark, but the fact of the matter is, are we're still very much in love and happy let's also not beat around the bush we have been very stressed we've been so stressed guys there's been a lot on our plates i'm working constantly we get no quality time that's basically it zero quality time i would also phrase that as our relationship is taken backstep because our focus is so much backseat backseat excuse me
Starting point is 00:04:47 because our focus is so much rightfully so about dawson about audries uh we've moved you moved to Rhode Island, which has been a big change for you. So there's been a lot going on. We needed a break and we had the opportunity, thankfully, which was such a surprise to us both that they wanted us to come to paradise and give us exactly that, some time to ourselves, some time to really go on a date, enjoy each other's company, and really just start dating each other once again. But also they asked us. Well, that's what I mean. That's why I said to our surprise. Of course we don't say no. To our surprise, they asked if we wanted to go to paradise.
Starting point is 00:05:29 And we were scared. We were like, oh, my God, what are they going to do to us? And then Jared was like, they're not going to do anything to us. We've been a couple for so long. And like, we're one of the few standing franchise couples. Yeah, they want their couples. However many couples they have left, they want them to stay together. I was like, they're going to bring other couples there.
Starting point is 00:05:49 Oh, yeah. And they're going to, and crazy, crazy things are going to go down. Anyway, that didn't happen. Spoiler alert. We actually just have a great time. So tonight, you'll see us. We walk in. We gave a little advice along the way.
Starting point is 00:06:00 It wasn't the point of us being there, but the cast seemed to think that we were like a nice neutral space. I think we're knowledgeable within the Bachelor world. So I don't think asking about our opinion on things was the worst idea. Yeah. Not to, you know, humble brag. I watched tonight's episode and I'll just say, you know, it's unfortunate. There's an unfortunate part that is left out of one of our,
Starting point is 00:06:23 first conversations that happened when we first got to Paradise. I talked to the girls and just got the scoop on what's going on. Jared talked to the guys and they only showed my conversation with the girls. Oh, they didn't show mine. Yeah. So tell them the moment they missed. Well, because I was telling all the guys recapping exactly how Ashley and I got together, which included me giving a kiss to Ashley when she left Winter Gaines, which was like a gray area. But we've already talked about this publicly. And so I was telling the story about how I felt the need to confess my feelings. And I was the one who made moves.
Starting point is 00:06:59 And I know even though made, like, technically it was the wrong thing. Like I knew in my heart it was the right thing. And so I was telling this. And Brandon, Brandon was like, yo, you kissed her at the airport? I said, yeah, man, I needed to do what I needed to do. And he goes, that's sketch. Yo, that's sketch, man. And he said it, yeah, he said exactly like that.
Starting point is 00:07:20 It was great. It was so funny. It was such a wonderful moment that they did. and show is so funny. It would have been great to hear that. The only time I would want to be called sketch on national television. Was in that circumstance, yeah. All right, well, we're going to take a quick break, and then we're going to dive into this episode, episode two of Bachelor in Paradise Season 8.
Starting point is 00:07:44 My boyfriend's professor is way too friendly, and now I'm seriously suspicious. Wait a minute, Sam. Maybe her boyfriend's just looking for extra credit. Well, Dakota, it's back to school week on the Oakland. case story time podcast, so we'll find out soon. This person writes, my boyfriend has been hanging out with his young professor a lot. He doesn't think it's a problem, but I don't trust her. Now he's insisting we get to know each other, but I just want her gone. Now hold up, isn't that against school policy? That sounds totally inappropriate. Well, according to this person, this is her boyfriend's former professor and they're the same age. And it's even more
Starting point is 00:08:15 likely that they're cheating. He insists there's nothing between them. I mean, do you believe him? Well, he's certainly trying to get this person to believe him because he now wants them both to Meets. So do we find out if this person's boyfriend really cheated with his professor or not? To hear the explosive finale, listen to the OK Storytime podcast on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. Hi, my name is Enya Umanzor. And I'm Drew Phillips. And we run a podcast called Emergency Intercom. If you're a crime junkie and you love crimes, we're not the podcast for you. But if you have unmedicated ADHD, ADHD... Oh my God, perfect. And want to hear people. with mental illness, psychobabble.
Starting point is 00:08:56 Yes, yes. Then Emergency Intercom is the podcast for you. Open your free IHeartRadio app. Search Emergency Intercom and listen now. My name is Ed. Everyone say hello, Ed. Hello, Ed. I'm from a very rural background myself.
Starting point is 00:09:09 My dad is a farmer and my mom is a cousin. So, like, it's not like... What do you get when a true crime producer walks into a comedy club? I know it sounds like the start of a bad joke, but that really was my reality nine years ago. I just normally do straight stand-up, but this is a bit different. On stage stood a comedian with a story that no one expected to hear.
Starting point is 00:09:32 On 22nd of July 2015, a 23-year-old man had killed his family. And then he came to my house. So what do you get when a true crime producer walks into a comedy club? A new podcast called Wisecrack, where stand-up comedy and murder takes center stage. Available now. Listen to Wisecrack on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
Starting point is 00:10:04 I'm Dr. Joy Harden Bradford, and in session 421 of therapy for black girls, I sit down with Dr. Ophia and Billy Shaka to explore how our hair connects to our identity, mental health, and the ways we heal. Because I think hair is a complex language system, right, in terms of it can tell how old you are, your marital status, where you're from, you're a spiritual belief. But I think with social media, there's like a hyper fixation and observation of our hair, right?
Starting point is 00:10:32 That this is sometimes the first thing someone sees when we make a post or a reel is how our hair is styled. You talk about the important role hairstylists play in our community, the pressure to always look put together, and how breaking up with perfection can actually free us. Plus, if you're someone who gets anxious about flying, don't miss session 418 with Dr. Angela Neil Barnett, where we dive into managing flight anxiety. Listen to Therapy for Black Girls on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. Get fired up, y'all. Season two of Good Game with Sarah Spain is underway. We just welcomed one of my favorite people and an incomparable soccer icon, Megan Rapino, to the show. And we had a blast.
Starting point is 00:11:17 We talked about her recent 40th birthday celebrations, co-hosting a podcast with her fiancé Sue Bird, watching former teammates retire and more. Never a dull moment with Pino. Take a listen. What do you miss the most about being a pro athlete? The final. The final. And the locker room.
Starting point is 00:11:34 I really, really, like, you just, you can't replicate. You can't get back. Showing up to locker room every morning just to shit talk. We've got more incredible guests like the legendary Candice Parker. and college superstar A.Z. Fudd. I mean, seriously, y'all. The guest list is absolutely stacked for season two. And, you know, we're always going to keep you up to speed
Starting point is 00:11:55 on all the news and happenings around the women's sports world as well. So make sure you listen to Good Game with Sarah Spain on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Presented by Capital One, founding partner of IHeart Women's Sports. It's hilarious that we're even going to call these. people couples but this is who is quote together at the start of day two okay start of day two is where this this episode comes in at yeah couples it's a one-night hookup at this point brandon serene Andrew and teddy Hunter and Johnny Justin and Genevieve cheney and
Starting point is 00:12:39 Logan okay and the big the big thing here is that the morning of Victoria walks in. Yeah, Victoria. They obviously wanted to do that. They wanted a big name. Yeah. Someone that was going to really stir the pot after night one.
Starting point is 00:12:54 Because we've both been down there day one. There's a certain camaraderie you have when you're sand one or whatever they have. First sand. First sand, whatever they call it, right?
Starting point is 00:13:03 Because you're down there together. You spend a whole day. It's a new environment. You're like, oh my God, we're on paradise together. It's like going to camp. So everybody who comes in after that, it's certainly, of course,
Starting point is 00:13:12 you're friendly and you're wonderful and you grow attachment to these people. But it's just different. Anywho, so, of course, I knew that they wanted to throw someone like, hey, let's, let's get someone that's going to really stir something up immediately. And of course, that's Victoria F. Big name. Very, very sexy lady. Can you, I can't believe that she, I forgot she dated Chris Seals. I did not. That's just like, escaped my mind. Somebody brought it to me this morning. They were like, oh, Victoria, she dated
Starting point is 00:13:36 Chris Souls, right? Yeah. I'm like, oh, my God, that is correct. And I totally forgot about it. Well, all the girls start freaking out when they see Victoria. She pulls aside Logan and John. Johnny and she picks Justin for the date. Yeah. But she walked in saying that she wanted to talk to Justin. Yeah. It's hilarious to see like how things change in a matter of days, you know? A matter of days.
Starting point is 00:14:01 A matter of hours. They've been on the sand for 16 hours at this point probably. Well, Genevieve is freaking out. Love Genevieve. She's so cute. But she already feels like she and Justin are in a committed relationship, which totally relatable. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:14:17 You are no one to judge. I'm not judging. I'm saying totally relatable. Yeah. I kind of enjoy that. You, Jared loves to see someone. Jared loves to. Why do we watch Paradise?
Starting point is 00:14:27 Do we watch Paradise? Because we only want to see people fall in love. Of course not. No, but I feel exactly all the nerves that's rushing through her body when she sees Victoria after. Of course. How could you not? Because she likes Justin.
Starting point is 00:14:39 I feel bad for Genevieve. First of all, Genevieve is stunning. Yeah. Smart, intelligent. She'll do just fine on that beach. if Justin and if Justin doesn't give her her rose. Did you think I was going to do just fine if I didn't get a rose from you?
Starting point is 00:14:53 Yeah. Well, I wouldn't have obviously because... You would have gotten a rose for someone. Jared. Well, one time, I did not. And then what happened? You came right back. Yeah, but also you're like downplaying the...
Starting point is 00:15:08 You're like, you're like, would it be the end of your life if you didn't get a rose for me? It's like, actually, yeah. My spare me. Get out of here. Oh, Jared thinks everybody's going to be just fine. It's so funny because Jared... I'm so jaded now. He's so jaded. This is what Nick, who was, what, 37 at the time of our season? He was always like, everybody's going to be fine. They're going to be fine. Everybody would be like, oh, my God. I feel so bad. They were eliminated. They're in jeopardy. And Nick would be like, they're going to be fine. And now Jared is the old guy who's like, they're going to be fine. Well, because when we went down there, everybody's so stressed out. And of course you understand what, of course.
Starting point is 00:15:46 I understand why, but I think from someone who has, you know, gained knowledge of the experience after the show, I wanted to go back down there and be like, listen, don't stress, just have fun, enjoy it. You know, it's so funny because Jill, obviously, we were friends, you know, before she went down to Paradise, we hung out, and she was very open about her fears. She's like, I just think I'm going to go down there and cry all the time. I'm like, yeah. You should do that. It's going to be wonderful. I promise you. It's going to be great for you. And we see that she took advice And she didn't hold back
Starting point is 00:16:21 She's hilarious And she's maybe the star of the show right now As she well should be Even when she impersonated the crabs Yeah I know Like her face The faces she makes are fantastic
Starting point is 00:16:33 So funny But babe I also wanted to kind of like Tell everyone like yeah This is what happens on the beach But you guys are gonna see each other so much in real life I just wanted to tell them like From what happened with us It's like
Starting point is 00:16:45 If something ends here it doesn't feel right and it feels like it's not the end well like guess what it's probably not the it's probably not the end you know you'll be able to go after the you know see each other after the show yeah uh so victoria goes down uh she asks justin on the date now let's skip forward to just stay with the ending of the storyline they come back to the beach and justin i mean they both said they had a good time right this is a good time but it was not like mad sparks i don't think did They even kiss on that date, guys? If they did, it wasn't memorable.
Starting point is 00:17:18 Obviously, it wasn't memorable because here I am questioning it. But Genevieve feels like she doesn't want him to be confused, which is hilarious, because I had to deal with you being confused so long. So I was like, I'm like, girl, confuse is just fine. And it's so funny. I obviously understand what Genevieve is coming from having said that. Isn't that funny how whenever you say having said that, it just means like. negates the first half.
Starting point is 00:17:45 The first half means nothing. Having said that, in Justin's mind, he's like, huh, who do I have more of a connection with? The girl I've known for eight hours or the girl I've known for three hours. Like, it's okay to be a little confused. Yeah. But she wants him to come home with a decision. Come home. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:18:06 You just say come home. Yeah, you know. Come home, baby. It does. It does feel like home. Well, it's very much home base. Like, are they coming home yet? It's like glue and tag.
Starting point is 00:18:14 It's home base. Okay, so they, so she sits down with Justin and he says, I'm confused. I really can't make a decision right now. And she goes, well, I want you to know whether it's her or me. I'd rather be dumped, or dumped, quote, quote, after 24 hours, than be, you know, somebody that you're not sure about. I mean, I love it because I feel it. Of course you feel it. And I love it as well because it's fantastic, especially fantastic TV.
Starting point is 00:18:44 But I think if I'm Justin, I think I would be like, okay, then I choose Victoria. If you're making me choose, I've always found that if somebody is making you choose between two people, most likely you're probably going to go with the other person because they're putting you in such an uncomfortable position, you're either resenting them or you're going to grow to resent them. Yeah. Okay. So we don't know what Justin's going to do. I'm sure we'll see more of the storyline when we get more of the cocktail hour.
Starting point is 00:19:14 in tonight's episode. But moving on, small little things to touch on. Kira is interested in Casey, but Casey says, not into her. I need somebody whose marriage material. This girl is wild. Yeah, this girl is, Kira is, first of all, a doctor.
Starting point is 00:19:33 Yeah. Which is insanity. Like, I'm really concerned about her career after this. I hope she's okay. You should have seen the ending. You didn't see like the credit bay or whatever it's called. I saw that after credit. That was Wells in the, when they were in wigs.
Starting point is 00:19:48 Isn't that the credit bay? No, that wasn't. Oh. Oh, did they have an extra part of it? Well, whatever. What I'm referring to is this scene where she's wearing a like one piece lingerie thing, you know, like a leotard thing. I know what you're talking about.
Starting point is 00:20:03 I'm trying to figure out what scene this was. Yeah, I know. I just saw it today for the first time when I was rewatching that. Be sure it's not tonight's episode? Yeah, I'm sure. Okay. And she walks into the boom boom room wearing lingerie by herself with the vines. that was found in, um, what's her name's luggage? Oh, Sally. Sally's luggage. I mean,
Starting point is 00:20:22 hey, good for her. Have herself a night. Why not? She had herself a night. Okay. And then a more storyline that's just like a little something, something is Michael and Sierra. They're really hitting it off when. Daddy. Zaddy. Zaddy. So good. She's very, um, understanding of everything he's going through. She's a really good listener with him. And she's really sweet. Very sweet. We had the pleasure of getting to know both Michael and Sienna on the beach, Sierra, excuse me. And, yeah, she's so sweet. Yeah. So Michael talks about how he's just felt so guarded, dating after Laura passed.
Starting point is 00:21:00 When everything's get real, he feels like he's scared and, you know, just dips out. He's like, uh, is something serious? That's a tough situation. Yeah. Because Sierra likes Michael, but obviously is understanding of his past. You have to go slow. Basically, it's saying you have to go real slow. I know. But that's so hard because in Paradise, everything is sped up. So my question for Michael,
Starting point is 00:21:19 as much as I love him and I'm so glad he's back on my TV, maybe is Paradise the correct format for him to be dating in right now? Possibly not. We'll see. But watching him is just like, oh, why isn't he the Bachelor? It's so refreshing. You know? Michael A is a breath of freshering. He really is. It's just, I love that guy. It's just like when he was on Katie season, I remember always saying I'm a little dazed out when Michael A is not on screen but when Michael A comes on screen
Starting point is 00:21:47 he's like so commanding and it's a gentle way he's commanding because he's very much a lead he's like you feel like secure like that's a secure like that man you'd feel comfortable with yeah he feels
Starting point is 00:22:03 I think his authenticity just really shines through in paradise and through camera yeah through camera He's just being himself. He's had this one thing where he was like, when she passed,
Starting point is 00:22:17 he couldn't get used to like sleeping on his side of the bed and not having her on her side of the bed. So then he started sleeping across the bed. I know. It's tough. I can't imagine. And they both start tearing up. How can you not?
Starting point is 00:22:31 I mean, it's such a heavy conversation, heavy topic. You know, you deal. We joke and it's paradise and it's fun and we talk about how stressed out everybody is. And, of course, there's stressful parts about it. But in terms of the grand scheme of things, it's nothing. It's all fun. It's play.
Starting point is 00:22:45 But then you talk about conversations like this where this is real world stuff. And this is somebody who went through something really traumatic. And, yeah, for Sierra, it's got to be tough on her. It's so, oof, it's going to be, you know, it's just hard. It's hard to talk about. He says this Ritzky Poignant thing. He goes, Sierra understands an old type of love and beauty when you do find love. Aw.
Starting point is 00:23:09 That's, like, really. nice. I really is nice and I really like them together. I hope things work out. He also thanks her for listening and they kiss, which I was kind of surprised at how that conversation went from like crying to kissing, but I'm glad it happened. Yeah, it doesn't surprise me. I feel like vulnerable moments like that just really make two people feel connected. And when that happens, you know, feelings come rushing to the surface and then you make a move. Babe. Oh, God.
Starting point is 00:23:44 I love you. I love you, too. Let's talk about something more fun, a love triangle. Okay. Logan is in a love triangle, which is just hilarious. I don't know. There's nothing about Logan. I don't get it.
Starting point is 00:23:58 Honestly, guys, when we were down there, nice man. Very nice. But, yeah, there's just like, like, I remember something about everybody. I think Casey is hysterical. I love Casey. And Lace, obviously, no words. Well, you don't even need to describe them. I mean, you know Lace.
Starting point is 00:24:17 Jacob is wacky. There's like a conversation you remember with everybody, except there is like not a conversation to remember. I agree. It's like, when, when did we talk to, but I remember glimpses of talking to Logan, but I don't remember much. Okay, well, it doesn't matter whether we get the appeal.
Starting point is 00:24:38 Of course. What matters is that Logan has quite an appeal to the ladies here. Yeah. Have a big appeal. Yes. Towards Logan. It's clear that Chenet is going to be the winner of this love triangle when you're watching this because Haley thinks she has something with him.
Starting point is 00:24:53 But Logan does not think he has something with her. Basically, he asked her this thing next to each other on like the little palapa bed or whatever. And she says, he asks her who she's eyeing or like who she's into and how she's feeling about the connections she has going on and she's like, oops, I thought that was with you. Can you look in a mirror? Haley's on my crap list.
Starting point is 00:25:16 Why? Because... Oh my God, did she say something about you? Oh, yeah, the old people think. No, not about me. The alums. The lungs. Yeah, she said,
Starting point is 00:25:25 episode one towards lace. First of all, lace is fantastic. Not only is she wonderful in person. She's great TV. Why would you not want lace on Paradise? And then Haley said something about, I'm all for alum coming back. But six years, like, come on, close the door, move on.
Starting point is 00:25:43 I would love. In six years of your single, Haley. I'm hoping Haley finds love. No, you're hoping that Haley's single in six years. That's not what I'm hoping for. I'm not hoping for that. I'm hoping she finds love. Having said that, if it just so happens,
Starting point is 00:25:58 Haley is single in six years, and they ask her to come on Bachelor in Paradise, I hope that she has the same mindset. And she says, sorry, guys, can't go back on, because it's too far gone, I've closed my door. Or how about this? Dating in Paradise, of course, is very heightened and over the top, but it's still dating in very much real life.
Starting point is 00:26:20 You're trying to find love. So I'd like to tell someone if they go on six dates. You know what? Don't go on to seventh date. Give up. It's over. It's not going to work out. Anyway, it's just like, it just rubbed me the wrong way.
Starting point is 00:26:29 I don't understand why people say that. What? So Lace isn't allowed to come back because she was on the show six years ago. She's still so young. She, 35? She's 32, Jared. She's so young. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:26:43 She was on the show very young. So she's 32 and comes back. Come on. Even if you were 38. Yeah, exactly. 60. Well, maybe not 60. 60's a little much to be on Paradise.
Starting point is 00:26:56 But you get my point. Let's move on. And she's not a joke. Logan and Sheney have a date and there's really nothing memorable from it except for the fact where it's like, damn, Shanae. you can get anyone I'm not ripping on Logan I'm ripping on Logan a little bit
Starting point is 00:27:13 okay it's fine it's fine yeah his intro paradise is very good where he's got like a bagarita in one hand and my tie and he's like I can't decide my tie all right so now we have this Sally drama the Sally drama is a little bit silly
Starting point is 00:27:27 but let's let's tell the audience what we know of the Sally drama because we were told by producers exactly what was going on behind the scenes before we even saw Will's Well, Wells's tail is pretty much exactly what happened, where Wells goes on this saga of Sally's suitcase. And so on clean season, Sally, she left before even night one. Yep. And so she wanted a second shot at love. So she decided to send a producer to make sure that, oh, excuse me,
Starting point is 00:27:57 the show sent a producer, make sure she got on the plane. Then she said she couldn't have explosive Diarrhea. So these are the two. There's a couple parts in Wells's story that we didn't hear. So I'll explain what we heard from the producer. Two things. Well, one, love Wells. He's hysterical. But the second thing is that that segment. It just, it wasn't bad. It was just, it did not stop. It was like, okay. It was like a chuckle at first. Like, oh, ha, ha, ha. And then it was like, oh, it's still going. And then it was like, oh, my God, it's still going. And who was the other guy in the skit? At first, we thought it. It was. It was like, oh, it's still going. And who was the other guy in the skit? At first, we thought it. It was. It was. It was. It was. It was. It was It was Casey, but then we're like, oh, no, this isn't Casey. So why did they do, like, why would they do that? Like, they should have introed who that was or had a cast member do it. I don't know. I don't know. Anyway, guys, we were, we thought it was funny, but it was not funny.
Starting point is 00:28:50 Okay, we're being nice. Wells is very funny. Yeah. Like, when Wells is doing his interviews, his narration, it's fantastic. But do you know what? This is going to kick us in the butt. You know, this is going to bite us in the butt because he's going to have a story type Saga, I believe, about our story.
Starting point is 00:29:06 And what if he reenacts our story? Then we're going to think it's hilarious. Yeah, it's been the best TV ever. It can be 10 minutes long, and it was so much better than the first one. I hate us. Anyway, okay, so, but back to the suitcase, the girls fought, this is a little bit of a stagey moment, and we don't love staging moments here. So what happens, I believe truly, that the suitcase did arrive there because she decided
Starting point is 00:29:31 very last minute not to get on the. plane in the story it says that okay we're getting all over the place let me condense what we heard from producers while we were there is that sally did have a producer come to wherever she lives i think in tennessee they tried to get her um they tried to go the house and then she was like i don't want him and then i do want him and i do want to go and then there was a guy and it was her ex and then he wanted her too or he didn't want her to there was like you know it was so much a back-in forth. But the bottom line is... So maybe this story needed a good 10 minutes
Starting point is 00:30:07 to be told. The bottom line is she didn't get on the plane, but they definitely booked her a flight or two or three. It was like they booked her multiple flights that she wasn't getting on. The two things that were surprises to us
Starting point is 00:30:23 was the diarrhea. I didn't hear that part of the story. She said, you can't come in. I have massive diarrhea to whatever producer came to the door. And then she like apparently wasn't in home. I kind of took that part tongue and cheek
Starting point is 00:30:35 anyway. Yeah. I mean, Genevieve believed it. Oh. Didn't Genevieve believed the whole wait,
Starting point is 00:30:43 yeah. Yeah, they were all they were pretty much believing everything. And then the other thing we didn't hear from producers
Starting point is 00:30:49 was that that Sally had a producer sitting in the trunk of her car for four to five hours during a hot summer day. That was just didn't happen, right?
Starting point is 00:31:01 I have no idea. There's no way. I can't imagine. You didn't, First off, it would have been an SUV trunk, not like an actual, like, sedan truck. Trunk. Why did they weigh in the trunk? I can't remember.
Starting point is 00:31:12 Because she had to go talk to her ex. Oh. And she was like, my ex can't see you sitting in the car with me or sitting in the car. So you have to go in the trunk and hide. That's got to be fake. I definitely believe that she had to produce her hiding. Yeah, hiding. The trunk part by being an exaggeration.
Starting point is 00:31:28 And it could be absolutely an exaggeration. Or maybe it was just being in the car. Anyway, I can't imagine. It's funnier if the producers in the trunk. Let's just say the producers in the trunk. Okay, fine. But there's also no way that any human would sit in a car for five hours waiting for somebody.
Starting point is 00:31:42 You would go and bang on that door. Well, in the trunk. Oh, my God. If I was in that trunk for two hours, I would have been convinced I was kidnapped and about to be buried alive. Oh, 1,000 percent. But that's why I'm saying. It was definitely an SUV truck.
Starting point is 00:31:54 It probably didn't happen. But anyway, then, okay, I'm going, we're going to the beliefs and the not believe. So now, did the suitcase actually arrive to Paradise because it arrived on the plane with the producer without Sally? Yes, totally believe that. Do I believe that there was that she packed a waffle maker and a vibrator and all that? No. They definitely sent the girls up there and like, there's a new suitcase from a new arrival. Come on. We can say that that was definitely them having fun with her. I don't know.
Starting point is 00:32:29 Sometimes you want waffles in paradise, you know? The waffirator would have been believable. But them adding the waffle maker
Starting point is 00:32:36 just made it all not believable. Does she have like a thing with waffles? They said that that was like a gift that the girls gave her as a like a newly
Starting point is 00:32:46 or what is it called like an engagement gift because she kept going back and forth between her ex and being single. Ah, a waffle maker as an engagement gift,
Starting point is 00:32:56 huh? You know, that's like a wedding gift. That's a wedding gift. It's like, it could be the same. Girls get that stuff for bridal showers. Okay. You guys get a waffle maker for bridal showers? Bridal shower gifts are often very similar to like wedding gifts. It's like for houseware a lot. Pots and pans silverware. It's the bachelorette party where you get like lingerie or stuff like that. Hold on. Wait a minute. So you're telling me that you get gifts for both for your bridal shower
Starting point is 00:33:23 for your bachelorette party and for your wedding. Bachelorette party gifts are just like fooos, if anything. Laundrae is pretty expensive. I didn't even, it is expensive. I didn't even get more anything for a bachelorette because I gave her something for the bridal. So it was like if you were at the bridal shower, then you didn't have to get anything for the bachelorette.
Starting point is 00:33:42 This is all very confusing. Okay. Well, now we have to talk about Romeo and Jill. Romeo, not Romeo. This is a storyline that you probably have a lot to talk about because you do love Jill so much. And Romeo is quite the character. He is quite the character. is something to figure out.
Starting point is 00:33:58 And what Michael A said was hilarious. He goes, the way that he's dealing with this social situation makes me really doubt that he went to Harvard. It's not making it hard to believe that he's a mathematician that graduated from Harvard. I believe 100% that he's a mathematician. Because he's like a little bit awkward and like he's like all about numbers
Starting point is 00:34:16 and not so much about worse. Some people are so incredibly smart that it hurts their social dynamic. Yeah. I don't know. But yeah, Romeo, it's almost like he thinks, he like he thinks everything in analytics and doesn't really factor in human
Starting point is 00:34:30 emotion. Uh-huh. Because the poor guy doesn't know how to handle awkward situations and he handled it so poorly and I don't, first of all, I don't think Romeo's a bad guy at all. No. I don't think so. No, no, no, no, no. I really enjoy Romeo. Yeah, so it's sad that he's like getting such a bad
Starting point is 00:34:46 rap and making such, well, he did mess up a lot. It's sad that he's making such poor decisions. I would agree. Yeah. It's sad he's making such poor decisions because you're like, Romeo! Wake up! Dude, well, we loved what he did last week.
Starting point is 00:35:00 Last week he said, like, Kira, I am not interested in pursuing anything with you because I want to move forward with Jill. And then it's 12 hours later, 24, whatever. And he's like, uh, Brittany, I would like to continue things with you and say goodbye to Jill. I know. I know. It was just obvious that he was not into Kira and he was into Brit. And that's why he said it.
Starting point is 00:35:24 It wasn't that he was into Jill. Wait, really? I thought he was genuinely into Jill, and then he looked at Brittany, and he was like, I like, I like this too. I mean, how much could you be into Jill if you looked at Britain? You were like, never mind, something shinier. I don't know. But it's all very sad, and we love the way that Jill reacted. Oh, she's the best.
Starting point is 00:35:41 Jill is just. She was so funny. What are some of these good lines? Oh, the one that says Jill. Oh, it was so sad when Jill said, I'm a great person, and I know that. Yeah. Like, I'm really cool, and I know that. Yeah, it was funny, but also.
Starting point is 00:35:54 also very endearing and sweet. It was awesome. Yeah. And then Romeo just, I just, and then the poor guy went around. It was crazy to me that on the night of a rose ceremony, Romeo was ready to give out a rose to anybody who just said, yeah, I'll take it. And then the next week they could easily just say, you know, I'm going to go and pursue something with somebody else. It's crazy that that happens a lot. That's like friendship roses.
Starting point is 00:36:21 But he couldn't even, he couldn't even hand out a friendship rose. Nobody accepted his friendship rose. Well, not yet. We don't know what's going to happen at the rose ceremony. Somebody will accept it, but in terms of, like, nobody was grabbing it. Like, there was a rose up for grabs. And everybody was like, oh, I'm all said, thank you. Yeah, it's like, get the rose, stay the next week, and then figure it out then.
Starting point is 00:36:39 I know we were there. We show up the day after the rose ceremony, but I really don't remember who he ends up giving the rose to. I do. Oh, okay. I won't say. I won't say. But, yeah, I mean, plus, if you're. a girl, and you get Romeo's rose, you're guaranteed two more weeks.
Starting point is 00:36:59 Yeah. So just get the rose. Yeah. What, are you going to be villainized? You're going to be fine. Romeo is messing up left and right. Just be like, yeah, I'll accept your rose, but, you know, I'll pursue something with you, but I'm going to also pursue things with other people, too, if that's okay.
Starting point is 00:37:10 And I'm sure Romeo would say, yeah, because nobody else is saying yes. To close out with Romeo, he does end up in tears because he goes back to Kira and says, I was close-minded early on, and I would like to salvage any spark that we possibly had. Poor guy, like, again, I like Romeo. I do really like Romeo, but, man, it was kind of pathetic to see the whole ending where he was like trying to get a rose and then nobody was taking it. And then he started crying and it's like, oh, God, bro, just pull up your big boy pants and let's get through this.
Starting point is 00:37:41 You're fine. You're handing out a rose. You know, just relax. You're okay. But then again. It's not helping your cause that you're crying right now. I think it would. If I would, I would be like, oh, this man has like...
Starting point is 00:37:54 feelings and empathy and like he's knowing that he's messed up yeah all right that's not a bad point either yeah like there's something mushy about him yes something mushy all right okay well let's wrap this podcast up with a few headlines and we'll do that right after this break my boyfriend's professor is way too friendly and now i'm seriously suspicious oh wait a minute sam maybe her boyfriend's just looking for extra credit. Well, Dakota, it's back to school week on the OK Storytime podcast, so we'll find out soon. This person writes, my boyfriend has been hanging out with his young professor a lot. He doesn't think it's a problem, but I don't trust her.
Starting point is 00:38:36 Now, he's insisting we get to know each other, but I just want her gone. Now, hold up. Isn't that against school policy? That sounds totally inappropriate. Well, according to this person, this is her boyfriend's former professor and they're the same age. And it's even more likely that they're cheating. He insists there's nothing between them. I mean, do you believe him?
Starting point is 00:38:53 Well, he's certainly trying to get this person to believe him because he now wants them both to meet. So, do we find out if this person's boyfriend really cheated with his professor or not? To hear the explosive finale, listen to the OK Storytime podcast on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. Hi, my name is Enya Yumanzoor. And I'm Drew Phillips. What do you get when a true crime producer walks into a comedy club? I know it sounds like the start of a bad joke, but that really was my reality nine years ago. I just normally do straight stand-up, but this is a bit different. On stage stood a comedian with a story that no one expected to hear.
Starting point is 00:40:06 The 22nd of July 2015, a 23-year-old man had killed his family. And then he came to my house. So what do you get when a true crime producer walks up? to a comedy club, a new podcast called Wisecrack, where stand-up comedy and murder takes center stage. Available now. Listen to Wisecrack on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. I'm Dr. Joy Harden Bradford, and in session 421 of therapy for black girls, I sit down with
Starting point is 00:40:45 Dr. Ophia and Billy Shaka to explore how our hair connects to our identity, mental health, and the ways we heal. I think hair is a complex language system, right? In terms of it can tell how old you are, your marital status, where you're from, you're a spiritual belief. But I think with social media, there's like a hyper fixation and observation of our hair, right? That this is sometimes the first thing someone sees when we make a post or a reel is how
Starting point is 00:41:12 our hair is styled. We talk about the important role hairstylists play in our community, the pressure to always look put together, and how breaking up with perfection can actually free us. Starting point is 00:42:07 And the locker room. I really, really, like, you just, you can't replicate, you can't get back. Showing up to locker room every morning just to shit talk. We've got more incredible guests like the legendary Candice Parker and college superstar A.Z. Fudd. I mean, seriously, y'all.
Starting point is 00:42:25 The guest list is absolutely stacked for season two. And, you know, we're always going to keep you up to speed on all the news and happenings around the women's sports world as well. So make sure you listen to Good Game with Sarah Spain on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Presented by Capital One, founding partner of IHeart Women's Sports. First two headlines are Clayton and Zorro.
Starting point is 00:42:51 Susie related. Can I, I'll sum it up really quickly? Sure, okay. All right. So the first one is Clayton and Susie. They were on the Off the Vine podcast with Caitlin. Well, they weren't together on the podcast. I think they did a joint interview.
Starting point is 00:43:03 No. Yeah. It says Clayne Richard and Susie Evans continue to do things their own way, giving a joint interview about their decision to call it quits in two weeks after the split. Oh, interesting. God, I've got everything around here. Sorry, that's been a bigger deal. Clayne went on to say, I wasn't really sure of what my next step was going to be
Starting point is 00:43:20 wants to show ended. I had uprooted myself, sold my place, I was like, all right, I can go wherever. But what do I end up doing? Am I going back to corporate America? Am I going to chase my passions? A lot of things being unknown, and I think that put me in a place of instability. Plus, with the backlash of the show, it became very overwhelming, very quickly. And so what I think ended up happening is I was trying to figure out what my next step was, and I started questioning who I was because of the negativity. I started to believe some of what was being said about me, and now I look back at it and realize I couldn't be that stable, secure man that I needed to be in order to give my all in a relationship. So he's blaming the negativity on the relationship
Starting point is 00:44:06 dissolving with Susie, and then Susie went on to say that I think it was just self-identity, and I think that he was looking for stability, and there were times when I didn't provide that as well because I just wasn't sure. She goes on to say, I can't wait three months. I can't promise three months or whatever. And I think that's really hard in relationship to when I'm on the other hand, like, I need
Starting point is 00:44:29 security. I want to be two whole people. So it sounds like Clayton couldn't give or... Both of them couldn't give stability because they're both kind of rocked. I think they're just kind of rocked from the end, then the start of it all. Here's what
Starting point is 00:44:44 here's what I can sum it up. Okay, yes. Mr. Help, I suck at dating. Clayne wasn't ready to be The Bachelor. We all knew that. Yeah. If you're going to be The Bachelor, you're going to sign up for this. You realize what you're signing up for. You're going to get negativity.
Starting point is 00:44:57 He didn't have any practice. He had no attention during the first season. But then as the show... I'm not defending him. You got to cast someone who's ready to be in the public eye who's going to be in this really tumortuous relationship. Like, it happens every single season. You know, I mean, there's always...
Starting point is 00:45:13 There's always the runner-up. There's always somebody being dumb. The Bachelor, Bachelorette is always getting, you know, some sort of grief because they have to break up with 25 people to end up with the person that they want to end up with. So it's difficult and it's hard, and I understand that, but you're the Bachelor. So if you couldn't have overcome it, then you couldn't have overcome it. But then I would just argue that maybe you weren't ready to be on the, you know, be the lead, which is okay. I don't think I was going to be ready to be the lead. You kidding me if they cast me as the Bachelor?
Starting point is 00:45:41 You probably would have been fine. No. Yeah. No. You're dismissed your stability. doubtful. Very doubtful. But my point being, I don't know, it's just like, best of luck to them. Okay, well, just because they're not together anymore, doesn't mean that we shouldn't still keep up with Susie's TikToks because she is a master at them. She's so funny on them. Do you watch
Starting point is 00:46:03 them, babe? Very good on TikTok. It always comes up my search page. Probably because you watch them. Yeah. We share it. Yeah, we do. So she's poking fun of herself on TikTok about her self-care. and she's like talking into a blank diary. She's got a face mask on. So check out her, her TikTok. She says she's got to fix her entire life now after this. I love how open she is.
Starting point is 00:46:25 Yeah, it's nice. She pokes fun on herself a lot. Definitely doesn't take herself too seriously. Well, Jared, you are closer with the next person because you guys used to do a podcast together. That's right. Speak of this next headline. Vanessa Grimaldi just welcomed her first baby boy.
Starting point is 00:46:43 with her husband, Josh Wolf. Very good looking man. Yes, of course, Vanessa used to co-host, Help I Suck at Dating with myself and Dean. She's a wonderful human being. She's going to be an incredible mother. She's so motherly. She's so motherly.
Starting point is 00:46:55 She's caring. She's endearing. She's protective. She makes me feel like I'm a crappy mom. I would agree. I'm kidding. Your most wonderful mom in the world. No, but she's like, just like,
Starting point is 00:47:07 like, if you look up the definition of what you expect a mother to be, it's Vanessa. Yeah. Okay. Well, the little detail about the delivery, it was VSC section. The name has not been revealed, but he was born at seven pounds, nine ounces. He arrived on September 29th, which was one day before her 35th birthday. He missed the biggest part of them all.
Starting point is 00:47:31 And they watched Hocus Pocus Pocus at the Montreal Hospital. Hocus Pocus, too. Yeah, which we haven't watched yet. I know. I need to get on that. But a big congratulations to Vanessa and Josh. two wonderful people, well-deserving, very excited for you both. And congratulations to Kayla Quinn, who also announced this week that a baby is in their future
Starting point is 00:47:51 with husband Nick Borrello. The two of them have been together for five years, and it looks like, yeah, the baby is pretty well-developed in the photo, the sonogram picture that we saw. She says it's three and a half months. And I know, obviously, we have history with Kayla, but that doesn't matter. She's going to be a great mom. We're very excited for her and for her husband, Nick. That's great news.
Starting point is 00:48:16 And I think also she will be a great mom. Very much. Yes. But congratulations to Kayla. Oh, wow. This is a big headline. Garrett. Yeah, Garrett's engaged.
Starting point is 00:48:26 Becca's ex is engaged. That's right. I didn't see that, but they've been dating for two years. Her name is Alex Ferrer. They, I think, got together quite soon after they broke up. But look at that. Becca and Garrett, both engaged now. You popped the question in San Diego
Starting point is 00:48:41 He said our engagement Was exactly how I imagined it I love you so much, Alexandra I can't wait to spend forever with you Little Owl Well, good, congrats to them too I mean that's amazing That they both ended up having
