This is the Ben and Ashley I
Almost Famous Podcast with IHartRadio
Hello everyone
Welcome to the Almost Famous Podcast
Where today we'll be talking Bachelor headlines
And tomorrow I'll be talking to Raven Gates
Which I'm so excited about
Because we're going to talk so much motherhood
And partnership in motherhood
But today I am joined by one of my favorite
Bachelor nation contestants
I mean I'm hoping
I'm your favorite Bachelor Nation contestant.
Definitely my favorite.
Obviously.
I'm Jared.
That's my name.
Hey, guys.
Jared I canetti.
Jared I for the listeners out there.
Well, that's funny.
We should just start with that.
That's funny.
Are you annoyed that I haven't officially taken your last name?
Not at all.
Are you sure?
Has Raven?
Speaking of Raven,
I actually think I should talk to Raven about that because I talked to Crystal about
that a couple weeks ago.
And she said that she's going to, but I was like, but you realize you have to go like to this office and that's that the office and that's that office. And she was like, oh, okay, yeah, yeah, I'm going to do it.
As long as Dawson has my last name. That's what I care about most.
Yeah, but what we want is that, like, we want Dawson have the same last name as me because sometimes when we go through TSA, they're like, they check me multiple times. Like, they want my ID, my driver's license.
As long as Dawson and I get on the plane, that's the most important thing. You can stay back.
Fine. You can have them on your lap the entire time.
Oh, he's a little baby.
Yeah.
Well, blah, blah, blah.
Kids, that leads into our first topic.
Bachelor Nations, Nick Vial and fiancé, Natalie Joy,
reveal the sex of their first child.
First off, babe, do we know Natalie's last name really Joy?
I would imagine.
Why would she lie about that?
I think that's, like, her cutesy Instagram handle.
Like, what's her real last name?
I bet it's Joy.
You think so?
Do you think Joy is a stage name?
No, I think it's her middle name.
Yeah, but.
Isn't this funny that, like, we don't even know the answer to this?
No, well, I mean, her name soon will be Natalie Viol.
That's what she's under my phone.
Oh, really?
They're going to have the same initials.
Envy.
Oh, that's cute.
Yeah, Toots Adorbs.
Okay, well, they're having a girl, which is great news because that means that they didn't lie to us.
Did you hear what he did?
No.
He said when they announced that they were having a baby, not the gender reveal, he said,
Some of our friends know the gender already, but then we faked some of our friends out
and sent them the fake gender just to weed out who's our real friends and who's not.
To see if it got out there.
Yeah.
Well, that's good.
I'm glad he doesn't think that we're going to leak his gender to the press.
So we received this video probably like, I don't know, six weeks in advance of them actually revealing it.
It feels like a long time ago.
Doesn't it?
I feel like it's probably six weeks.
Yeah, I guess.
I have no concept of time.
Yeah, you're not really good with that.
I thought, honestly, today's Monday.
I thought it was Thursday for the longest time.
And then yesterday, I thought it was Saturday.
Saturday, I thought it was Friday.
So we received the video a couple weeks, months ago,
and we saw them pop the balloon and reveal it was a girl.
I'm not surprised at all by this,
but Nick is going to be a very protective girl dad.
and the caption that they
that they captioned the shared
Instagram post was her first words will be
boundaries. What do you
think of that? I think it's very
vile files of him.
That's what I think it is. What does that mean?
It's not very Nick
of him, but it's very vile files.
Yeah.
What would, if Nick was being true to himself, what would
probably Packers?
No.
Packers, yeah.
No.
What does Nick love?
Nick loves, like, debating.
Yeah.
Okay, I was going to say, like, her first word will be debate.
I mean, that is funny.
I mean, God, the poor soul, whoever tries to date his daughter.
Oh, my God.
The psychological evaluation, this man's going to have to go through.
He's going to be Robert De Niro.
Yeah, from Meet the Parents.
Yeah.
Oh, 100%.
Oh, my gosh.
Can you imagine what the first meeting will be like and how he'll just try.
So I always make fun of Nick and Jared because both of them love
to play devil's advocate, and they both love to argue.
So the two of them could spend hours defending a point of view that they both truly
don't believe in, but they'll take the position and just fight to the death for that position.
You know what I think Nick does well, too, if I think about it.
I know he talks a lot, but what Nick also does very well is he lets you talk, but almost
to your detriment where things will just be coming out of your mouth.
And he'll pick up on every single little thing.
Exactly. And whatever you say, he will be used against you in the court of Nick Viol.
But let me also say that I think that these two may have lost out on a great,
a profession that was a calling for both of them.
It could have been the Habin and Viol, or as Nick would insist on, the Viol and Habin partners in law.
There's no way my name is going above.
Yeah.
Nor should it go above Nick.
You could have gone to law school together in L.A., but I guess we've all worked out.
Yeah, we have all the time in the world to do that now.
Nick and I will just go to law school online.
But I'm talking a couple years ago
when you guys used to live together.
Yeah, we could have done that.
We also are really enjoying Natalie's Instagram content.
Hilarious.
She posted a TikTok the other day,
I guess you put it on Instagram too.
She was like, we were out baby shopping in New York
and Nick calls her from across the store
and goes, I just found the perfect, like, first outfit
that I want to buy for our child.
And did you see the picture?
No.
Jared, I have to pull up my phone right now.
So the outfit Ashley is speaking of is a pantsuit. Is that what you'd say? Yeah, it's definitely boyish. It's gray and it is a pantsuit for a toddler. Yeah. Not even a toddler. That looks like a first year outfit.
I fully expect from this outfit that Nick wants his little girl to run for president one day.
Oh, I was going to say be the first guest like on the couch at the bio files. Oh, that also.
She can wear the same suit jacket to her interview on Vial Files.
and her first town hall meeting.
Yeah.
Well, I think this is going to be
the first girl of many children
for Nick and Natalie, actually.
I think they're going to have,
well, at least three.
Because he comes from a family
in which he is one of ten.
Yeah, I mean, there's a lot of kids.
This really goes without saying,
I think both you and I think
that Nick and Natalie are just going to be
fantastic parents.
Nick, we've always thought Nick
is going to be a wonderful dad.
We have no doubt about that.
Natalie seems like she's just going to be
a fantastic mom.
mother, very loving.
Nurturing.
And they're so great together.
Yeah, their daughter is going to be very loved.
So we're very excited for both them.
Yeah, those are two parents I'd like to be born and born too.
Of course.
If I had to choose other parents, of course, than my own, which are the best.
My boyfriend's professor is way too friendly, and now I'm seriously suspicious.
Wait a minute, Sam, maybe her boyfriend's just looking for extra credit.
Well, Dakota, it's back to school week on the OK Storytime podcast, so we'll find out soon.
This person writes, my boyfriend has been hanging out with his young professor a lot.
He doesn't think it's a problem, but I don't trust her.
Now, he's insisting we get to know each other, but I just want her gone.
Now, hold up.
Isn't that against school policy?
That sounds totally inappropriate.
Well, according to this person, this is her boyfriend's former professor and they're the same age.
And it's even more likely that they're cheating.
He insists there's nothing between them.
I mean, do you believe him?
Well, he's certainly trying to get this person to believe him because he now wants them both to meet.
So, do we find out if this person's boyfriend really cheated with his professor or not?
To hear the explosive finale, listen to the OK Storytime podcast on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast.

I sit down with Dr. Othia and Billy Shaka
to explore how our hair connects to our identity,
mental health, and the ways we heal.
Because I think hair is a complex language system, right?
In terms of it can tell how old you are, your marital status, where you're from, you're a spiritual belief.
But I think with social media, there's like a hyper fixation and observation of our hair, right?
That this is sometimes the first thing someone sees when we make a post or a reel is how our hair is styled.
You talk about the important role hairstyles play in our community, the pressure to always look put together,
and how breaking up with perfection can actually free us.

Season two of Good Game with Sarah Spain is underway.
We just welcomed one of my favorite people
and an incomparable soccer icon,
Megan Rapino to the show, and we had a blast.
We talked about her recent 40th birthday celebrations,
co-hosting a podcast with her fiancé Sue Bird,
watching former teammates retire and more.
Never a dull moment with Pino.
Take a listen.
What do you miss the most about being a pro athlete?
The final. The final.
And the locker room.
I really, really, like, you just can't replicate,
you can't get back.
Showing up to locker room every morning just to shit talk.
We've got more incredible guests like the legendary Candace Parker and college superstar A. Z. Fudd.
I mean, seriously, y'all. The guest list is absolutely stacked for season two.
And, you know, we're always going to keep you up to speed on all the news and happenings around the women's sports world as well.
So make sure you listen to Good Game with Sarah Spain on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.

former bachelorette star katie thurston joins f boy island for season three on the c w so you guys know that
the man who married us our love alon gale he created the series and it was on the um on max or
hbl max whatever you want to call it um two seasons 21 and 22 and now they they canceled it on max
but they've moved it over to the c w and i feel like the
tie to Alon and
Katie, there has to be some
sort of tie there as to why he'd want
her, right?
I mean, even though he didn't produce any
of the seasons that she was on.
Like, what do you think it was
about Katie that, like, Alon was probably like,
I'd like to have her be a lead on
F. Way Island, where if you guys don't know F.Wy Island,
basically there's three female leads
and there's a cast of, like, 20-something
guys. And, oh,
yeah,
13 self-proclaimed,
guys looking for love and 13 self-proclaimed F-boys looking to compete for cash?
There's probably a lot of reasons. One, I think Katie is single. She was a bachelorette.
She's a big name. Bring her on F-boy Island. She's very open about her sex life.
I think that has a lot to do with it. Of course. Yeah.
Yeah, it seems like a perfect match. My question, because the CW, to me, like, I remember watching
Smallville in The Flash.
yeah i guess there's you know reality tv shows on model yeah i'm curious how salacious the show is
how salacious this show can be well he'd be more salacious on max of course i mean that's
hbo you can be as salacious as you want like imagine sex in the city on the cw well yeah it would be
like the edited version which i watch on e all the time exactly well yeah so i wonder if this is like
an edited version of fboy island we'll see okay next up kendall long
and Blake Moynes announced that they are teaming up for a conservation trip to Madagascar.
So we all know that Kendall is like all about her science facts.
She gives cool animal facts all the time.
And then we know that Blake Moynes is basically like he's always been into.
Do we know?
I don't know what.
Yeah, we do.
You know what Blake Moynes said.
He was basically a park ranger.
I did not know that.
Oh, yeah.
So they're teaming up to go to Madagascar and bring awareness to critically
endangered lemur species.
That's cool.
They'll be working hands-on
with the lemur conservation efforts.
I...
Did these two ever...
They never cross paths in Bachelor Nation.
Yeah, but you know, Bachelor,
it's like, especially if you're into lemurs,
there's only a small group
of Bachelor reality, TV personalities.
Jared just looked up pictures of lemurs.
They're kind of adorable, but they also have very scary eyes.
You know, little babies.
Look at those wide eyes, especially with the tongue out.
Would you go to Africa?
Sure.
I mean, probably not.
I know.
I don't want to go.
Jared doesn't like going outside of his comfort zone whatsoever.
Jared, if like, okay, so.
I don't want to go to Connecticut.
Forget about Africa.
He doesn't.
We went to Boston the other day, and it was like, Jared's like, why are we doing this?
Everything we need in this world is in Rhode Island.
It's not far from the truth, is it?
I am becoming a little bit more like you because it's just like, oh, a pretty water view, Rhode Island.
Got it.
Five minutes away.
There's like a lot.
There is,
Rhode Island does offer a lot geographically.
If you want a city,
sure,
we could go to Providence or we could just go to Warwick,
go to Route 2.
No,
that,
no.
Go to BJ's Target,
all in the same plaza.
On the border.
Chuckie cheese.
Tell me what else you need in life.
Um,
okay,
wait,
so yeah,
Jared just in general,
like anything out of his physical comfort zone,
he's actually worse than me.
I don't know how you got through paradise because,
okay,
so let's be honest here.
Dean and Kalin are getting married.
and he talked about this with them on Help I Suck at Beas Newly Woods,
their podcast together.
He was like, look, you guys, from your imitations to me exploring what I can about this
retreat center, basically, that you're getting married at.
This seems all Dean.
Yeah, but Kalyn is the one who's like, I love the resort.
I chose it.
I begged Dean.
And then obviously she didn't have to beg Dean because Dean was in.
Did you say like this seems like I'm concerned that I'm going to have like internet service
at this retreat center?
No, I didn't say that.
But do you feel it?
Yes, I feel it.
Jared loves his conveniences.
He's like, he needs to have a strip mall within 10 minutes of where he is.
I would like that.
I can't deny that that is my preference as well.
Bachelor of Lum, Sarah Heron, marries Dylan Brown in an intimate Grand Canyon ceremony.
So she was really open about the fact that they were going to go on this
trip to the Grand Canyon and they were going to get married. And then, like, a week after,
I was realizing, I was like, oh my God, I haven't seen pictures yet. So she kind of went off the
grid for a little while. And she just posted a couple cute reels and the photos of them getting
married. There was very few people in attendance. It was kind of like obviously an elopement.
And she basically, she wore a wrinkly white dress. It was all very cute, but it was all very
Sarah. Because she loves being immersed in nature. And she like, she just likes the earthy,
the you know the earthy simple things and they were just adorable and they've had quite the year if these two can make it through what they have gone through they can make it through anything as you know they lost their baby at about 20 weeks yeah yeah so they did it they did it on august 27th at mile 75 on the colorado river standing on hot granite wearing a ring
dress and she said it was
hot granite why is that so specific
were they barefoot? Barefoot. I'm assuming
So is this like walking over hot colds?
Barefoot ceremony.
Man that's
a bonding moment right there. And then
there is a picture on her
Instagram. It says just married and the sign
is attached to a little
river boat.
Oh. Yeah, so cute. That is really cute.
I mean, very happy for Sarah.
Sarah we met
I think I'm made I can't remember if I met before Paradise but she was on her
second season of Paradise and so sweet
just a really really sweet soul I'm so glad she like found her happily ever
after that's also what she posted about on Instagram just like stepping out of
the limo and like her journey of love that continued after that
well this is really sad and really awful news I'm so sorry that we even have to
discuss this but
Amanda Kaler, who was Eric, what is, how do you say Eric's last name?
I don't know.
Eric, but it was the.
You know, Gabby's Eric.
She has passed away at the age of 27.
It was a suicide.
The worst part about this is that she's a single mom to a young, a young child.
I think, yeah, he was born in 2020.
He's only three years old.
Yeah.
Do we know if Eric is the father?
No, Eric's not the father.
So her story and how it relates to The Bachelor is that if you guys remember, Eric was caught on Gabby's season.
Well, not like while Gabby season was airing, there were headlines about how he was dating Amanda prior to going on the show, like very, very recently to going on the show.
They started dating in January of that year, and then he started filming in March of that year.
So after what she says was a world win romance, she told Reality Steve in an interview in September of last year, all the details. But basically she said that they had quite the romance. And then he said, hey, I'm like, you know, in March before he would go on the show, like very soon before he'd go on the show. He said, like, I'm stuck in this career that I'm not happy with. I need a big change in my life. And like going on The Bachelor can, like, possibly bring me that.
And then a couple weeks later, like, I feel like maybe the day that he got his phone taken away, possibly, like really close to them filming, he sent her flowers and also sent her a text saying, like, this is, this was a mistake. I hope that, like, we can see each other when I'm out of this. And, yeah, and that's, and then he ended up getting engaged to Gabby.
And obviously, I don't think she heard from him afterward.
But it's obviously just horrible, horrible news.
Yeah, just tragic news.
Obviously, our thoughts are with specifically the son.
You know, he's born January 26th, 2020, so he's...
Two years.
Two years old in Dawson.
Three and a half.
I can't imagine.
Obviously, our thoughts go to the entire family that's being affected by this.
and friends, but specifically the son, because I can't imagine.
She was already a single mom, you know, so like we don't even know how much the dad was
involved in his life.
Yeah, I can only hope that the family is really rallying together to this point to ensure
that he is in the best hands possible, which I'm sure they are, but just tragic, sad news
all around.
I mean, there's nothing else to be said about that except just horrible.
Absolutely horrible.
My boyfriend's professor is way too friendly, and now I'm seriously suspicious.
Well, wait a minute, Sam, maybe her boyfriend's just looking for extra credit.
Well, Dakota, it's back to school week on the OK Storytime podcast, so we'll find out soon.

Bachelor Nation's Blake Hortzman
is sick of team Caitlin or team Jason
after their recent split.
Yeah, but is he team Jason or is he team Caitlin?
Like, we want to know.
I think he's pretty close to both of them.
So he said, all right, I'm already sick of this BS.
He wrote this out on an Insta story.
There are no teams.
These are two friends of mine
who gave everything they had
to a relationship that didn't work.
He also said, like, I think you think you are helping, but you're not helping either of them
by sliding into DMs or attacking people in the comments section.
Let them heal on their own.
They don't need your help.
And I think we can, like, echo those sediments.
I mean, I also think that these, like, two have, it seems amicably split.
it just wasn't working for either one of them.
It seems like they're like on,
it's obviously hard,
but I do think that they're on good terms.
Yeah, it seems like the breakup in Seinfeld
where Jerry has the first ever
level playing breakup
where it wasn't one side or the other.
They both just look at each other and they're like,
I hate you.
That's great.
All right, have a good life.
See you.
Way to bring Lovity to this, man.
But they're definitely both going through it.
And I just really think,
that this was something like I just there's nothing they're not even putting anything bad about
each other out there no another reason that like you just know like there's so much love and
respect there so like why would you pick a team if there's just obviously not one person who did
any wrong yeah we're also talking about people who are constantly commenting on social media
of course everybody who's doing this is just saying stupid stuff even though there's a lot of
wonderfulness on social media. You know, we have a lot of comments sometimes about us or Dawson
that are very positive and they make us feel fantastic. Yeah. But of course, there's a lot of dumb
stuff too. That's just what happens. It's the internet. So I think, of course, there's going to be
people going at Blake being like, bro, you can't be friends with Caitlin anymore. You've got to be
team Jason or being like, hey, you should stick with Caitlin. She needs you more right now than Jason
does. Just what's going to happen? People suck. It's quite all right. That's my opinion on it right
there. Yeah. I get it. So what team are you on, team Caitlin or team Jason?
I am not on anyone's team. That's the correct answer.
Wells Adams confesses that Bachelor in Paradise ripped off Love Island. Now listen, I get what
he's saying here. He goes, every season on Love Island, basically they split the girls from
the guys. And then on season eight, a Bachelor in Paradise last season, they split the girls
from the guys. They brought the girls over to Vandanta. And then Wells goes, well, guess what?
No one's making new shit anymore. It's like everybody's kind of copying each other. Like,
you know, Bachelor in Paradise was kind of the first really popular seasons long show where people
are like dating in a tropical area. And then Love Island came along and it's huge now too.
So in a way, it's kind of like Love Island ripped off Bachelor in Paradise. But you just told
me off the record that you think people are making new shit?
Yeah, I think people rip people off.
I think people are making new stuff.
I think it happens all the time.
I mean, how old is love is blind?
Two, three years?
I would say it's maybe four years now.
All right, well, time flies by.
But anyway, that felt very new and fresh when it came out.
And that was only four years ago.
And then what else is, I mean, we're about to watch a 70-year-old bachelor.
No, yeah.
Good point, Ben.
So, I mean, I think that there is being new stuff.
But I also, I think it's both.
I think there are people who rip other people off because what's good for McDonald's is good for a bird king.
But all at the same time, I think there's new stuff as well.
So it's just like, there's only so much you could do with having people date in a tropical location that's different than the other show.
That's so true.
It's like, oh, well, it's about love and we're at a beach.
And so you can like, well, this one's about money and this one's about engagement.
or this one, blah, blah, blah, blah.
But yeah, it's all going to be kind of similar concepts.
I didn't even think about Love Island, honestly,
when they did that thing last year.
But also, I don't love...
But you also never seen Love Island.
I know.
And I've only...
It's been around for quite some time.
I couldn't get past episode one.
I guess I was watching the UK version,
which I think is the original.
I heard that's good.
And it was so effing trashy.
I could not continue.
I watched one episode.
Babe, remember I told you that was the guy
who, like, said he had slept with four.
400 women. And I was like, I don't want to watch this.
I mean, that is
impressive and disgusting.
Okay, thank you. I knew that you were
going to say disgusting and then you added impressive
because you didn't want to be super judgy.
Well, it's just like, my God, the energy that man must have.
Yeah, like, every night you have to go out and, like, find someone.
I know how old he was. I want to do the math on that.
When he lost his virginity? Like, how many is he average a year?
I don't know.
Sounds like a job.
Okay. New headline.
Rodney Matthews
hard launches with new girlfriend
Ari calling her
the love of his life.
So, wow.
Wait, wait, why do you don't like that?
I'm just, I hope
that they've been dating for a very long time
and this is a very secure,
stable relationship
because Rodney's a very nice guy
but saying he's a lot, like this person
is the love of his life.
I hope it's not like
two months in, you know what I mean?
I hope it's like, oh, we've been together for like six to eight months and this is feeling really good.
Well, we actually don't know how long they've been together, but he did post just this week, quick life update, the happiest I've ever been.
Aw, good for him.
Yeah.
And there was a video and he wrote, the first night I met, the love of my life, a night I'll never forget.
Her name is Ari.
We don't know much more about her, but Bachelor Nation is very happy to see the two of them.
together. We had comments from Nate
and Serene and Susie Evans
and Mike Johnson.
Interestingly, Andrew
also hard launched
this week at Joe and Serena's wedding
with Missy girlfriend.
And these two are bros.
Bros. Bros. Just dating.
Just dating and fine in love.
Fining love. Bros. Fine and love. Good for
that. To wrap up this podcast,
this is fun. This is fun
little tidbit. Fun. That's what we do here.
We do fun things, guys.
We're about fun.
So Dylan, Barber, and Hannah, they're just, of course, we got married, they got married,
we broke down their wedding.
Who could forget that wedding?
I know.
It's like, that wedding is like, hurt the competition to our wedding.
I got news for you.
It probably blew us out of the water.
Our wedding is amazing and beautiful, and there's so many weddings within Bachelor Nation.
But, like, if you have a wedding like that in France with fireworks?
The fireworks show was 20 minutes.
20 minutes?
Yeah.
We talked about a help which I could be new woods.
How much do you think that wedding cost?
I don't know.
At least a million.
Well, it just depends on what the trades were, but also it depends on what the, what is it called?
Like, between the U.S. dollar and the France dollar and like the euro.
I can't imagine that's.
They had a 20-minute fireworks show.
Yeah.
And the people who did our flowers.
did theirs and well we got a nice deal and I'm sure they got a nice deal great wedding anyway so
they went to um they went to the Maldives on their honeymoon and on the last day of their honeymoon
which was over a week long close to two weeks long I think um in they did this funny reel where it was
like oh what you think that your honeymoon would look like what the last day of your honeymoon would
look like like super romantic like dancing under the stars and then what like your last day of your honeymoon
really was. And it was Dylan trying to break the world record in dim sum eating. So he would
need to eat 31 dimsums. Is how much you call it a dim sum? Like a dim sum? Like a dumpling?
I don't know. A dim sum dumpling in two minutes. He said that the whole resort was going to come to
watch. Let's go. Do you think I can do it? And then Hannah said yes, one million percent.
And then Hannah and Dylan arrive at the restaurant and the staff is waiting there,
ready to watch Dylan attempt to break the record and he says the staff
has totally hooked them up with 32 dim sum dumplings waiting for them when they got there
he was a little nervous because the entire resort showed up and he goes the second I started I
realized there was absolutely no chance I was going to be able to do this I almost threw up
in like five dim sums in it was pretty impossible I don't know how the winner of this world
record has ever done this. I'm not a quitter, so I decided to keep trying to find some
random world records to try to beat once he gets home. Fantastic. You would never be able
to do this. Sounds like a choking hazard. It does. It really, really does. Because those dim suns
what's in the middle of them? Beef. Yeah. So it's like, it's not a meatball, but. And how
chewy. Yeah, too chewy. The, the, what is the dumpling casing is? Just,
Yeah, everything about this.
Don't like it.
Dangerous.
I'm glad Dylan survives.
Yeah.
All right.
Well, that's that.
We appreciate you guys being here.
